Arisu:

Wouldn't stop thinking about for hours and hours with no end. At night, he probably talks to Chota and Karube inside his head while looking up at his ceiling, telling to them how his crush told him they feel safe with him, causing him to ultimately smile widely by himself while his hands rests beneath his head. He'd make sure that his crush would always feel safe with him from there on out.

Chishiya:

He'd feel a little weirded out but at the same time won't deny the blossoming feeling inside his chest. In the first part, no one has ever made him feel safe, not even back in the real world. He was always vulnerable both in his inner and outer shell, always seeking justification from his parents, especially his father. But to you? It's a whole new kind of feeling, hence the feeling of what seemed to be flowers growing inside his chest.

If he won't be able to contain it, he'd tell Kuina about you.

Niragi:

SMUG. SMUG. SMUG. He'd rub it in every militants face how his crush says they feel safe with him. Last Boss would look at him with a do-you-think-i-care kind of look while Aguni would internally roll his eyes before telling him to shut his mouth.

Most likely to threaten the others (even the militants) to back away from you. Of course, Niragi didn't want you to feel safe with anyone else apart from him. That's like his new job now!

Last Boss:

Stoic facial expression on the outside but giddy and happy on the inside. The type of guy who would replay your voice saying "I feel safe with you" inside his head multiple times. And he doesn't even get sick of it, because, why would he?

Usagi:

Would be a little conflicted at first since in the real world, she failed to protect her father but then comes you telling her that you feel safe with her. Ever since she was brought to this world, she's only made sure to look after no one but herself. But now, Usagi can feel like she'll be looking out after you, who made your way to her heart, now.

Kuina:

Just like Niragi minus the smug part. She's all smiles and giggles as she happily keeps talking about you to Chishiya. If he tells her to scram, she'll talk about you to Usagi and Arisu next. It's like her happiness reached it's full maximum point that she didn't know was possible!

Karube:

Feels like the world is suddenly a great place to live in. He'd most definitely start being around you now, would want to go with you anywhere and play the games with you. Although a part of him knows that you can look out for yourself (especially when the game is low level difficulty) he just can't help it. He just wants you to rely on him too.

Mira:

You guys know those monitors in that one episode wherein the game masters watches the players how they did in the games they designed? Yep. Mira is replaying that scene while listening to your line, telling her saying "I feel safe with you". Gets mad at anyone if they disturb her while she repeats the video.

A/N: im so glad you liked hate is a strong word!!

You were currently laughing at some off-handed joke Arisu made. Karube was sitting next to you but you were barely paying him any mind. It was hard to get a date for everyone to hang out at once due to clashing schedules. 

Karube would be lying if he said he wasn't even just a little bit angry that you were barely paying him any mind. Sure, the two of you spent a lot of time together, but it never hurt to spend a little extra time with your boyfriend. 

Jokes and stories were exchanged as you, Arisu, and Chota caught up, with Karube being pettily quiet. "So, what's new with you Karube?" Chota asked when he noticed his friend being unusually quiet. "Nothing much." He mumbled, acting as if he was uninterested. 

"Okay... How are things at the bar?" Chota tried again. "Fine." "He actually just got a promotion." You bragged for him. "That's great, man!" Arisu punched Karubes shoulder in a friendly way. "And you said that there was nothing new with you." Chota chimed in. 

It was clear both guys were very happy for their dear friend, but honestly, Karube couldn't care less. There was an awkward silence that filled the room for a couple of seconds. "Well.. my break is almost over, I better be getting back to work now." Chota stood up. 

"Yeah, and I have a job interview that I cannot miss if I want a place to live." Arisu joked as he followed suit.  "Let me walk you out." "They know where the door is." Karube mumbled. "Hm? What was that?" "I didn't say anything." You were skeptical but walked Chota and Arisu to the door regardless. 

You exchanged your goodbyes and you made your way back to Karube. "What's up with you today?" You asked sincerely as you started to clean the mess the boys had made. "Leave it, I'll clean it later." You ignored his request just as he ignored your question.

"So, are you gonna tell me what your deal is?" You looked at him. "So, are you gonna tell me what your deal is?" He mocked. "Are you jealous?" You went back to cleaning. "No, I'm not!" He shot his head towards you. "You really are jealous!" You laughed. 

"Pfft, no..." He tried to play it cool but the look you gave him told him he wouldn't be able to get away with it. "Okay, yes." He admitted with a defeated sigh. "Of Arisu? C'mon. No offensive to Arisu, but never in a million years." You reassured him in a joking way and left a small kiss on his lips. 

"I know, I know, but If I see him ever look at you again, I'm kicking his ass." He got up to help you clean. You laughed at his statement. "That would be very interesting to watch." "I'd win." He flexed his muscles his left a kiss on each bicep. "I don't know, my money's on Arisu." You smiled and he just rolled his eyes. "You're lucky you're cute."

to karube, you were the most kindest person he had met in his class section. you helped in any way possible. he was falling for you, but even him, was unaware that he was already falling for you.

he tried to keep it a secret. he was still unsure. he didn't cared about rejection, but he cared about what you think about him after he confesses.

‘ what if they find me creepy after i confess? ’ or ‘ what if they ignore me after i confess? ’

“ c'mon man, you're totally inlove with them. tell 'em you love and adore them so much, that you see them as the most precious thing in the world. ” chota says, smiling with courage while looking at daikichi.

“ hell, i wouldn't do that. they might find me creepy after i tell them, or worst, they might ignore me until i forgot about how i feel for them ” he replies. but chota laughed at his response.

“ that's bullshit. they think highly if you, whenever they talk to me, all about they blabber is you so, why not confess? ” chota replies back. but karube only scoffed,

“ if i were you, i'd confess to them already. you're gonna die sad if you keep those feelings to yourself. ” arisu comments, making karube furrow his brows.

“ well unfortunately, you are you, and i am me. ” karube simply replied. chota laughed at karube's response.

“ but you should really tell them what you feel, karube. you'll run out of time. grab the chance when you still got time left. ” chota stated. arisu nods at chota's reply, while karube, he was looking at the ground, avoiding eye contact.

“ anyways, ” karube says, before standing up and getting off his seat.

“ i'm gonna take a walk for a while, since our subject teacher isn't here yet. ” says karube.

“ just hurry, ” arisu warns him.

he walks out of the classroom, his hands were in his pockets.

“ ah- karube! ” you said, waving your hand in the air.

oh that butterflies that he felt when he saw you. just like that day, day one. first day of classes. it was love at first sight.

“ hm? what are you doing here? ” he says, raising his brow.

“ well, i went to the comfort room, i was actually on my way to the classroom- ” you were cutted off when you saw your subject teacher, walking at the stairs.

“ oh fuck- KARUBE! IT'S MRS. YAMAMOTO! ” you whisper. oh Mrs. Yamamoto was that strict teacher, so if she sees the both of you here, both of you are screwed.

“ FUCK, RUN! ” he hissed.

both of you were running fastly, not wanting to be found by Mrs. Yamamoto.

after climbing the stairs, the both of you finally got into the classroom.

you sit, and sigh tiredly, the same goes for karube, while looking at you with a little smile on his face.

as soon as Mrs. Yamamoto enters the classroom, her eyes darted to the two of you.

“ MS/MR. [ last name ] , and MR. KARUBE, did you really think i didn't saw the both of you running in the halls? ” she says with a stern voice.

oh man, both of you totally fucked up.

“ 20 MINUTES DETENTION FOR THE BOTH OF YOU! ”

“ i-i'm sorry. i'm sorry that you got dragged into this bullshit. ” he says, looking at the ground, avoiding eye contact.

“ no. karube. you did nothing wrong, you just found me there when you were roaming around, right? and it was actually my fault. i let you run there, i didn't know that our footsteps got heard. it's all my fault. ” you say, looking at him with a slight pout.

“ if you think it's your fault, i've already accepted your apology. ” and he finally looked at you.

you smiled, at him. he's so adorable. you thought.

when suddenly, he remembered what chota said.

“ you should really tell them what you feel, karube. you'll run out of time. grab the chance when you still got time left. ”

right. he should grab the chance while he still got time.

“ w-well, [name], i'm gonna tell you something, but promise me you'll never freak out, or change how you look at me? ” he says, looking at you akwardly, while you, you were confused.

“ oh, okay? i promise. ” you look at him with a trusting gaze, oh how he loved it when you stare right into his eyes.

“ well, actually i.....i like you for a long time now. i don't know how to say it at first actually, i was scared you might think of me as a creepy man or anything, but, i realized that it isn't important about what people thinks of you after you confess something, what matters the most is you managed to tell them those words you wanted to tell them for a long time now. and, i stood up and told everything i feel towards you. how you undo me with just your simple gaze, your adoring smile that i could stare forever. your kindness and intelligence, how you care for one another, and how you helped me with anything, and correcting me without making me feel stupid. i loved those details of you. that was the reason why i fell for you. [name]. ” hearing those words escape fro karube's mouth, just...makes you melt.

guess chota was right afterall.

“ karube...i never expected to head those things from you. i felt the same, really. i feel the same way as you. and how can you say that i'll find you creepy after you confess your feelings? you're so kind and sweet. you never fail to make me laugh, everytime i see you, i feel butterflies roaming in my stomach. so don't say such things like that! i could notice that you've really liked me, but that made me flutter more in my heart ” you said, before wrapping your arms around his neck.

“ as much as you wanted me, as long as i waited, hug me as best as you can. ” he says, hugging you back.

"Arisu," Karube pleaded with a choked, wet chuckle, tears welled up in his eyes. It wasn't much too visible due to the darkness within the botany room as leaves of beautiful and elegant plants stretched up and over - not enough to cover up the dark and ugly truth of reality when someone weeps and falls. How did it all end up here?

It all happened so fast. Just a few hours ago, he held a black box in his dominant palm, sitting in the bar of which he used to run. He had been reminiscing moments with you when he held it and daydreaming of the things you'd do together once he got out of here.

And all for this to happen?

His glassy eyes glanced over the plants before. He would never admit how terrified he was. Truth be told, everyone was terrified.

Karube gripped the cold ring in his hand, thumb rubbing against the welded cut. He promised himself he wouldn't cry in these stupid games. But the things he'd do for you, was it enough?

"When your sorry ass gets back home, give this to n/n." He mumbles out to the microphone of his headphones with a small and weak nod. He couldn't bare himself to let his friend see his walls fall apart. Arisu knew how much Karube loved you, truly. Him and Chota would tease him endlessly. Oh, the memories.

"Karube, you-"

"Tell her I love her."

"You tell her yourself you dick!" Arisu cried out at him, his gray hoodie swinging as he shakes in pain of realizing that his friends weren't gonna take no for an answer, that he was going to lose them. He was starting to lose hope.

Arisu kept running, searching for his friends. For anybody. But all he could see was green plants, teasing him. He continuously screamed for them, begging and pleading.

"Arisu, live on for us." Chota smiled through his tears.

As the countdown was getting closer to zero, the more Arisu panicked. Then he saw a glimpse of Karube's figure, immediately turning towards him. "KARUBE!!"

"Arisu, Thank you."

After being kept in the hospital for a few months, Arisu was able to return home. He had suffered through the deaths of his best friends; Karube and Chota. However he knew that someone else was in pain too.

You and Arisu were good friends, not as close as he was with Karube, but you both knew about each other. He had been comforting you through your tragic loss.

When you first received the news, the first few days were consisted of you isolating yourself for a while - blocking out family or relatives who came by to check. Until you were called to the hospital upon a patient's request. Snoon you went to the hospital to check on Arisu. Then the next weeks were you checking up on him.

"Y/N," Arisu started. Both of you sat alone in Karube's bar, sharing stories with one another. "There's something.. I thought I should show you."

Your weak eyes scanned the floor for a while then meeting your friend's eyes. He smiled at you sadly before getting up and behind the bar counter while you watched his every move, wondering what he would show you.

Arisu reached up to the drawers above the counters were old kinds of beers lay out and about. "There we go," He grunted and jumped down holding something of a box, you weren't sure since the lights were dim like it always was.

He jumped over the wooden counter once more and hid the box between his two hands before looking back at you with another weak smile. He chuckled sadly before looking up at the ceiling.

"Karube.. He.." Arisu muttered out. "Something tells me.. he wanted me to give this to you."

The boy's arm extended and handed you the small black box.

Your eyes had saddened when you heard Karube's name. Your eyes trailed down to the box and you couldn't help but imagine what it was about, you had an idea but that made your heart sink deeper into your stomach.

Shaky hands accepted the box that was given. You hesitated to open the box as you glanced back at Arisu who encouraged you.

When you opened the box, your heart wouldn't expect at least half the pain that you were going through. Half of you already knew what it was but that didn't mean it would hurt any less.

There sat the cleanly placed engagement ring, left there untouched, as if waiting for the perfect moment for somebody else to present the ring.

Tears pricked your eyes as you fumbled with the box, not even allowing yourself to touch the ring that was inevitably meant to be yours. You couldn't bring yourself to take a look at it any further.

"He.. He would want me to tell you that he loves you, y/n." Arisu's voice was subtle and soft and yet it was able to penetrate through the atmosphere's tension. He hadn't spent way too much time to you but both of you lost Karube and that was enough for him to sympathize with your pain. "I'm sure of it."

You quietly sobbed in your arms, hands raising the box, trying to push it away but it was still valuable to you. One of your hands took the box fully as you ran the other through your hair while you sniffed.

"I.. I just - It's like I never got to say goodbye." You looked at Arisu with a weak smile, facing the ring once again.

"I'm sure he'd want you to keep the ring too, but he wants you to accept it and everything, okay?" It was Arisu's time to look away and stare at the floor, like he was feeling or remembering something of sorts. "Karube wanted me to live on with my life, he'd want you to do it too."

"That sounds easier said than done." You chuckle wetly, wiping your tears.

"I'll help you through." Arisu promised, placing his hand on your back. He began to rub his hand against the plane of your back in sympathy, letting you know that he's there if you ever needed the help of which he offered.

You smiled at him once again.

This time, your fingers dance around the ring's enclosure before taking it from where it laid. You placed down the box beside you and examined the ring. With much hesitation, you inserted the ring to your ring finger and it looked perfect around it. A bittersweet grin came to your face, happy with the ring and yet still in pain.

You hadn't even realized that Arisu had brought you close, pulling you against him as he continued to rub your back and hug.

Despite all of the feelings and the hurt you were going through, you were happy that you knew that someone would be by your side, guiding you through.

And like something of a sense of feeling, you felt like he was there happy for you.

hearts, were indeed, a game where you play with people hearts. seeing you in the last game's venue, he couldn't help it, he had mixed emotions.

but he couldn't hold his tears for too long. that was a really sad sight to see.

you stand up from your seat, “ welcome, ”

“ to the very last game! ” you say, with a smile. while arisu looks at you, disappointed, and a slight sadness.

SHUNTARO CHISHIYA

he knew this would happen. he had a feeling that you were one of the game master, since you were missing in the 10 of hearts game, returning without bruises, and completely fine. but he chose to ignore that. he completely fell under your trap.

after seeing the flag of the queen of hearts explode, he didn't know, but he shed a tear.

he loved you, ignoring the fact that you fooled him into thinking that you were just an ordinary person, wanting to go back, aiming to find an answer to these mysterious games, but you weren't, you were one of them who planned them, who took the lives of the innocent, but despite of all of that, he loved you.

DAIKICHI KARUBE

he felt anger, then the anger turned to sadness. oh, he couldn't believe it.

how dare you flirt and make him yours, then fool him in the end?

he was curious. curious what this world is really, without knowing you have all the answers behind the questions that repeated in his mind, like a loop.

“ but, you loved me, right? [name]? am i right? ” he says, tears falling down in his warm cheeks.

you looked at him, blankly. “ i did. i always did. daikichi. ”

“ but did you love me now? now that you know that i made these dangerous games? now that you know i took many people's lives? did you still love me, karube? did you even think of me as your lover? ” you ask him, holding back your tears.

“ hell, i always did. there was never a day that i didn't longed for you. i loved you, until this very moment, and i love you, as these words escape from my mouth. ” he says, the sadness in his face was obvious. causing you to shed a tear.

“ i love you more than you think. karube. ” you say, before getting strucked by the laser in the sky.
