Chenford + it wasn't pretend for me...
"Ah, but see... it wasn't pretend for me, baby."
Lucy tries to control the warring feelings of panic and revulsion having Flint's putrid breath hot on her face as he trails the blunt side of a blade down her cheek.
On paper, this isn't the worst fix she's been in on an undercover op, but this is the first time she's been here while also restrained and injured enough that even if she did have a sudden surge of adrenaline, she wouldn't be able to do much to save herself.
No, at this point, her best bet is to stay alive until the cavalry can arrive.
She's still not sure how her cover had been blown. She'd been careful. For weeks she'd been so careful. She'd pretended to be interested in Flint to gain access to him. She'd pretended to be everything he'd want in a woman: a little dumb, a little submissive, and a lot sexy. He'd fallen for her hook, line, and sinker.
Then the jig was up and now she's here, pretty sure she's got more than a couple cracked ribs, definitely some fractures in her hand, and her wrist tied behind her back and hobbled to her feet.
Before everything had gone to hell in a handbasket, she'd gotten a single text off to Harper. But she didn't know if the message was received, understood, or if she could even be located. There were too many unknowns for her to just give up.
As Flint pants in her face, she remembers that she's survived far worse than this idiot. Still, she bites her tongue, swallowing her retort. Because if she tells him what she really thought about getting closer to him, to allowing him to kiss her with breath she could taste, he'd surely kill her in a fit of rage. But she can't appeal to him as a turned cop and try to convince him she'd actually been interested either. Because in some ways, Tim was right. She's not that good a liar. She's unwilling to commit to the bit.
Turns out that no answer is just as bad as the wrong one, though. He jams a knee into the ribs she's now fully convinced are broken. She can't swallow the scream. She hears the shuffling of fast-moving shoes on concrete and then the distinctive double-tap of two rapid-fire shots then she passes out.
She comes to and Tim's face is the only thing in her field of vision. There's a roaring in her ears and while she can't really hear anything she can see his mouth moving. He's definitely looking at her, his hands are moving over her swiftly, checking for damage, yanking at the ropes that bind her wrists, but she's pretty sure he's not actually talking to her. He jostles her broken hand wrong and the pain flares through her hot and wild. She passes out again.
Next time she wakes up she's in an ambulance. She's got an IV in the back of her not-broken hand. Tim's sitting next to her, boring a hole into her skull with the intensity of his gaze. "Hey, you found me." They must have given her something really good for the pain.
"Of course I found you." His words are typical, but his tone is not. It would be so easy to go back to sleep, to not overthink what she's hearing in his voice, to not be so damned grateful to see his handsome face after such a long break. So that's what she does.
She comes back around when they off-load her at the emergency room. She's with it long enough to use her non-dominant hand to sign paperwork for the surgery she'll need, give Tim a shortlist of things she wants from her house, and to ask Angela to please go with him - and not because she doesn't want him in her underwear drawer. Angela seems to understand her true function.
Next, she's in a hospital room, feeling groggy and cotton-filled, her hand heavy with the frame of external traction. Tim's once again sitting next to her, but it's dark outside and he's sprawled out in a more-comfortable looking chair watching football. They're different people this time. Different together this time. And yet so much is still exactly the same.
"I can't believe you've left Kojo home alone to fend for himself."
His eyes jerk her way, and she wonders if he could understand anything she'd just said. Her throat feels like they've reconstructed it out of sandpaper and she's not entirely sure she's just spoken English.
"I didn't leave your dog alone. Tamara's with him. It was either that or she'd still be sitting here waiting for you to wake up."
"She's got exams next week. She needs to be studying."
"I told her you'd say that and sent her home. God only knows what she's doing to my kitchen right now." He leans over, so long and stretched out - if she didn't know him she wouldn't see the exhaustion and tension in his frame - and passes her a pink cup of ice chips. "That'll feel good on your throat."
She eats some of the ice chips and feels the fire in her throat recede just a little. "She shouldn't have come up here at all."
He scoffs. "There was no keeping her away."
"Why did you call her?"
"I didn't. She called me. And as it turns out, when I'm worried about you, I don't hide it well."
"You were worried about me?" She's glad he'd swooped in for her rescue, but she hadn't intended to leave him worried.
"Every damn one of the past 38 days." He sounds tired. Worn out. Depleted.
She's barely twitched her hand to reach out for him when he's uncharacteristically reaching for her. The grip he takes on her good left hand is strong but gentle like maybe she's got sympathy pain mirrored across her body.
Suddenly his phone is playing the tone for an incoming video call. He reaches across his body with his free hand instead of releasing his hold on her. The smile on his face is involuntary and deep and when he picks it up and turns the phone to face her, she sees Tamara's face fill the screen. "Look who's up." Tamara can't see the relief around his eyes, now that his face is nowhere in the frame of the camera, but Lucy can.
"Are you okay?" Tamara's voice isn't as strong or sharp as it usually is. If anything, she sounds scared, like maybe she's on shaky ground.
"I'm so much better now," Lucy reassures her, she hasn't seen or spoken to the doctor yet, and she's got some pain — hell, she's got some painkillers — but can tell that the injuries aren't a long-term threat. "You're not missing any study sessions for being here, are you?"
"Just history and I've got like the highest grade in the section."
"Okay."
"You're not going to make me go back?"
"Not tonight."
Tim turns the phone back so he can see Tamara, and more accurately so Tamara can see him switch to his serious face. "Tomorrow."
Tamara huffs, but there's no power behind it. "Move so I can see you both at the same time."
It's been a while since Lucy has heard that injured-teen pitch in Tamara's voice.
Tim doesn't attempt to slide the big recliner, but he does get up and move to sit on the edge of the bed. She tries not to be put out that he'd had to drop her hand to do it. Right now, her needs are secondary to Tamara's. She's sure Tim feels the same.
Tamara calls out to Kojo and he situates himself squarely in her lap, his square head and smiling mug filling half the screen, obscuring the right side of her face.
"He's not supposed to be on the couch," Tim grouses, but there's no real censure behind it. Tamara's been able to get away with a lot for a little while now, ever since she'd started reaching out to him without going through Lucy.
"These are stressful times," she says, "none of us can be held responsible for our actions."
Tim presses backwards into Lucy, his lower back making warm contact with her hip. "It's been a long day."
"It's been a long month. When are you coming home?"
Lucy tries not to react to how it feels for Tamara to be sitting in Tim's house asking when she's coming home. It's too clear a glimpse at something she wants more than she can articulate. "I don't know. I haven't seen a doctor yet."
"It'll be another few days at least," Tim offers. "You're going to have to have the external traction removed before you get re-casted for home."
"How do you know that? What ever happened to HIPAA laws?"
He blushes a deep crimson, almost immediately. "I think they think we're related."
"Mhmm," Tamara says, a knowing smirk on her face. "I'm sure they do."
"Go walk the dog, huh? A nice, long walk."
"Fine," she grouses, but the look on her face is warmth and fullness and Lucy's not sure she's ever seen Tamara look that way before.
"Goodnight, sweetheart," Lucy says, not quite sure where the endearment came from, but she's also never felt so much like someone's family as she does right now.
"I'll be home late," Tim offers.
"Okay. Dinner's in the microwave. Love you guys," she says, and then disconnects the call.
Lucy thinks they must be doing okay with Tamara, whatever it is they're actually doing. She's thriving now, and she's come so far, using all that glorious potential she'd shown up with. "You're going to stay for a while?" she says when she's afraid she's going to say something she shouldn't to Tim.
"Until they kick me out," he affirms. He doesn't move from the bed, but he does shift to face her. "You scared the hell out of me today, you know that?"
"You're pretty old," she teases. "I'll try not to do that."
He narrows his gaze, but there's no heat in it, or at least not the kind there might have been when she met him. Now the heat is warmth and hearth and kindling, something stoking for her own fire. She wants to keep battling his gaze, but instead she yawns, and feels an injury on her face pulling.
"Are you tired?"
"Very tired."
He pushes some hair off her forehead. "I can go, and let you get some sleep."
"Or you can stay, and I can still sleep."
"Yeah. I can do that too."
As she closes her eyes and feels herself start to drift, pulled under by the remnants of her anesthesia and the painkillers coursing through her system, she hears him move to the recliner and he drops the sound even further on the television. She falls asleep feeling safe and content.

Sinister Six Christmas Headcanons cause I love the Sin. Six and I love Christmas and it warms my soul.
*Contains OCs and silly headcanon shit.
Marty, the ice-powered kid that Max takes under his wing, loves Christmas. The moment December rolls by, Max notices the 14 year-old kid trying to find Christmas lights and other decorations. When Max tells him that he has none, Marty begs for him to go to the store with him to get some. After some thought, Max and Martin go get some Christmas lights to set up around their apartment (wherever they're allowed to. They do have to be considerate of neighbors and follow the landlords rules after all). It doesn't end up looking like a Hallmark Christmas special or anything, but Martin loves it none the less and Max is happy that Martin is grateful and that they got to bond.
Marty did ask at one point if Max could his electric powers to make the lights brighter, but that was quickly shut down with "Only if ya want me to overpower every light in the complex and have our landlord up our asses."
Although he doesn't really celebrate Christmas, Dmitri does enjoy listening to vintage Christmas music on the radio while reading novels by the fireplace.
Dmitri doesn't get into the Christmas season due to how vigorously he had to cook the Christmas dinner, decorate everything perfectly, and clean up all the decorations afterwards as a servant boy for the Kravinoffs. He's also just very pessimistic and scoffs at the thought of Santa Clause and pure joy and love and all that bullshit that wasn't shown to him when he wanted/needed it most.
Quentin loves going all out on the holidays. Lights, mistletoe, a christmas tree, gingerbread, holly leaves, you name it baby!! He wants to make sure that his home is the merriest on the block!! Unfortunately, he forgets that the house he's currently living in is Dmitri's. So imagine Dmitri coming home, a mixture of irritation, shock, and awe swelling within him, when he sees his mansion covered in neon, flashing Christmas lights. He already isn't a fan of Christmas, but he's less of a fan of having lots of attention on him. After talking it out, Quentin agrees to take down most of the lights and Dmitri allows him to go all out when decorating the inside of the house, making both of them a little bit pleased.
Flint always makes sure to send Keemia a Christmas card and a gift to send to her in Canada. His gifts vary from crystals to seashells to knitted hats, anything that gave hints that she likes it or wants it. Keemia is always thrilled to recieve the Christmas cards and gifts and always makes sure to send one back with a happy picture or a seashell that she found.
Although he hides it with his work and Holiday meetings and parties, Norman feels lonely around Christmas. Harry, who's in college, doesn't vist, Emily is gone, and Otto doesn't want much to do with him. He can't help but feel an awful sense of solitude in his big, fancy penthouse every year.
Herman always spends time with Adrian during Christmas. Despite Herman joking that he's the real life version of Scrooge, Adrian enjoys spending the Holidays with his old team-mates.
Peter and Aunt May have a tradition of inviting Otto over for Christmas. They invite him over, hand him a cup of hot chocolate, allow him to help with the Christmas dinner, and even let him stay to eat with them.
Peter also comes over earlier in the month to help Otto with decorating his house. Not wanting the middle-aged scientist to get injured by falling off a ladder, Peter usually climbs up on the roof to get decorate the hard to reach places with his Spidey powers when Otto isn't looking. Otto, impressed by how quick Peter got it done, says "Wow! That was astonishingly quick! It usually takes me an two hours, two and a half if I estimate. How did you get it done so fast?" And Peter, sweating nervously, is like "Well, y'know, um...the power of youth and Aunt May's cooking. Hehe..."
Traditionally, the Sin. Six don't commit crimes during the Holidays. New York is bad enough with the cold and the traffic and the extreme last minute shopping. It doesn't need supervillains stealing money that could go to a chairty or a shelter or children in hospitals. They don't want to ruin the Christmas season for anyone. They may be supervillains, but they're not heartless.

Crave by Tracy Wolff.
2.5 stars.
“There’s not much to be afraid of when you’ve already lost everything that matters.”
I'm warning you: if you haven't read the book and don't want any spoilers, don't read further, because my review is filled with spoilers and sarcasm. I am conflicted with this book. I hated it, it was cringey and the romance was ugh (but I shelved as romance, AND as "this shit has no romance"), the characters were stupid as fuck and the plot was not interesting but predictable, and the villain, oMG, WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT??? However, it was fast paced. It took me a while because I was on a reading slump and having constant breakdowns, lol. Anyhow, it amazed me how quick I read this book and how fast many chapters went... Which is good, because my reading slump was stick to me, and I guess I gotta say thanks to this book ¿? Ok, let's start the review! Grace lost her parents due a mysterious accident (as your typical avergage normal YA girl) and she has no more family, except her uncle, who lives in Alaska and runs an Academy. So, Grace moves on to Alaska to live with him and her cousin, Macy. Everything is normal, until Grace realizes that something is not right. Surprise! Vampires, dragons, witches and shapeshifters are real! And she might be one of them! Plot: It was predictable as fuck. I could guess many things that were going to happen and I wasn't surprised. Also, there were many plotholes, that left me with many many many questions that were not answered in the entire book. Lia killing Grace's parents has no sense. I mean, beside of being senseless, it's stupid and has no point. No one could saw that coming (let me explain you why before you think "uhm, yeah, well, that's the point of a plot twist") because there was no hint that Lia had something to do with it. Lia is barely in the book, and appears only when it is convenient for Grace, not to give us hints that hello! she is the "villain". Lia being the villain is a crime. I'd rather be a good villain for this book. I mean, I get it, you want your "mate" *insert gags* back and you're suffering, but, sweetie, why you didn't kill Grace inmediately? It was ridiculous and lame. Why Grace was left alive? What specie does she belong? Is Hudson alive? Why is she a gargoyle now? Why we had Jaxon's pov? (I dind't read them all tho, lmao) What was the real purpose of Lia for wanting Grace, a simple human, to her sacrifice? Will Grace have some braincells in the second book? We'll never know. Also, I think everything goes really quick in the span of 2/3 weeks. And I mean it: everything. Characters: Oh, this one is gonna be amazing. Get ready. Grace: I always liked to think: "what would happen if I find out that vampires are real? how would I react?" and the answer it's totally the opposite to what Grace did. Grace isn't smart, let's face it. Any of the mc with vampires involved is it. They're more interested on the hot dark haired guy who's telling them to stay the fuck away from them because, they're dangerous. *stares at Edward Cullen* But, the girl is drooling for the vampire since the moment they make eye contact and then it's insta love. uGH. I mean, Jaxon is telling you to stay away from him, to scare you and in the first moment you're touching him because why not? he's hot and totally not like the other guys you've met before, and oh, also the scar that makes him look like a true fucking bad boy. Yeah, no thanks. For some reason, she's the one who summons problems and Jaxon is "saving" her. She's convinced to it and despite of what he's done, she thinks he's the good guy, the victim, the hero and the most powerful dude in the world. Ugh, ugh, ugh, cringe. What amazes me of Grace is the fact that she wasn't scared to see what Jaxon can do... Sweetie, are you ok? Anyone in their five senses would have left the dude when he warned the first time. Anyone. And you can think "if a guy like him told me to stay away from him, I wouldn't do it, because he's hot", yeah, but hE'S CREEPY AND A STALKER AND A MURDER, WHAT THE HELL!?!?!?! I can't blame Grace for all the shit going in her life tho. I feel pity for her tbh. The fact that she said "Jaxon was never
meant to be the hero of my story... because I was always meant to be the hero of his." killed me, but not in the good way. For some reason that is beyond of my comprehension, it's like Grace believes that she can fix Jaxon, that she can make him see that he's a "good guy" and that he doesn't have to carry the weight of the world. (what the actual hell??) Jaxon: The great, handsome, vicim, hero, powerful, hot and mysterious Jaxon Vega. He's a fucking dick. He's a stalker (in his chapters he clearly says it) and a prick. Oh my gods, I truly hate him. The only good with him is his taste in music (because it's written by a women), but the rest? ugh, he reminded me of the average vampires who think they're the heroes of the story and the world depends of them (Edward, Hawke, Rhys but he's a fae ik, and who knows who else, ewwww). He's disgusting in so many levels that I can't explain. I still wanna know something: what had to do Jaxon in Lia's plan to kill Grace? I know that boy ain't something good. My ace ass was cringing everytime he appeared in front of Grace and I was relieved when he was gone. I don't have much to say about him, beside that I don't like him and hIS ONLY EXISTENCE IS A FUCKING RED FLAG. My boy Flint deserved better tbh. I was most interested on him beING A FUCKING DRAGON, THAT'S AWESOME, that in Jaxon being a typical vampire. And I will never get tired of say that Flint is way fucking better than Jaxon. He's my boy, ok? ok. Macy was irrelevant, even tho I loved her a lot, even more than Grace. She deserved better and if she is not endgame with Flint, I'll riot. Romance. Nope. No. NO. nO. The fuck no. How you can fall in love with a guy you barely met 2/3 weeks ago? And even more, say that you love him. On the first day in Alaska, Jaxon warned Grace to stay away from him, and she touches him like they're something ??????? And on the third day, she's drooling at the sight of the guy because he "saved" her. Everything was so rushed and it was like it existed a "love triangle" bUT FLINT DIDN'T HAVE A CHANCE LIKE JACOB IN TWILIGHT, LOL. We all know from the beginning that Jaxon (Edward) is gonna be the champ, the winner and the endgame. You can predict that from the beginning of the book. Also, MATES???? ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME??!?!?!??!?! This trope is so used and boring that makes me sick. I mean, please, give me something built from zero. Not the "they're meant to be and that's it. suck it" nOPE. Give me plot twists. Hype. Like with From Blood and Ash this book is so overhyped. I mean, I read it because I like vampires and the academy trope. But literally, many people told me "this book is everything" "you're gonna love it" "Jaxon is so wonderfu, sexy and you'll love it"... Yeah, well, you can see now how it went. This book isn't thaaaaaaat bad, but isn't good either. It's fast paced, yes, but not something that I would recommend. You know? I think age is hitting me like a bitch and saying that many of the YA vampire books are not my thing anymore, and I really love vampires, lol. ANYHOW. This is my opinion, I'm not saying that this is purely trash or something like that, and you know why? Because I'm gonna read the second book of this one to see if my boy Hudson still alive, yep.

Episode 2x04 - What if God Was One of Us
EPISODE SUMMARY:
AN ACT OF GOD — On the verge of a breakthrough in her quest to save Max (Nathan Dean), Liz (Jeanine Mason) turns to Kyle (Michael Trevino) for one last favor that could potentially land him in hot water. Meanwhile, Michael (Michael Vlamis) and Alex’s (Tyler Blackburn) investigation into Nora (guest star Kayla Ewell) leads them to a farm, where they meet a historian named Forrest (guest star Christian Antidormi). Elsewhere, Cameron (guest star Riley Voelkel) confronts Jesse Manes (Trevor St. John) about her sister’s whereabouts, and Isobel (Lily Cowles) uses her powers for good. Amber Midthunder also stars. Shiri Appleby directed the episode written by Steve Stringer & Christopher Hollier (#204). Original airdate 4/6/2020.
DETAILS:
Roy said that he took veterinary training, which is how he was able to help with Louise and Nora's injuries.
"How come it feels like you don't know what I'm saying, but you know what I'm thinking?"
Roy moved the truck (with the pods in it?) to the livery.
"Boss's wife won't let him blame the drought on God so that honor goes to his foreman -- that's me."
Kyle on The Science:
"You're telling me that Michael Guerin used pinball parts and a car battery to cause cutaneous perfusion?
(Cutaneous perfusion...i think it is circulation of fluid/blood through tissue, but it's a bit above my head)
The device Liz needs is a "Personal Genome Machine". She ordered it when she still worked at the hospital.
Before entering the Crashdown, Graham Green tapes a Missing sign on the door for Hank Gibbons (who Noah killed in 1x13).  Apparently someone covered it up.
The sign is HARD to read, but I think it says:
"All viable leads reported to Graham Green's UFO Emporium will receive a free keychain.  Make certain you subscribe to the Weekly Probe as we dive deeper into the untold stories of Roswell and answer the question on everyone's mind.  ARE YOU NEXT?"
Tumblr media
Graham Green references that he's the "creator of last week's 39th most downloaded true crime podcast." (Assuming that this is the Weekly Probe, referenced on the poster).
Graham Green is opening a 1947 themed malt shop at the UFO Emporium
U.F. Doughs (the Crashdown's new donuts).
Isobel's been coming to the Crashdown every day for weeks.  (Note that this episode is the first one that really doesn't have a clear time context).
"Feliz cumpleanos, mama!" Happy birthday in Spanish, of course, but note Kyle's choice term of endearment for fic purposes!  And she responds in kind "Gracias, mijo!" (Mijo = male version. Arturo calls Liz mija = female version)
"A wild Michael Guerin finally emerges from his weeks-long hibernation in a lab and a library."
Again, non-specific time frame.
"When every other farm was struggling, the Longs experienced record-breaking crops.  Summer of '47. No one could explain it…till October '48. The day after that photo ran in the paper, the farm was devastated by a massive fire.  Foreman, entire staff killed. Whole place burned down."
"What caused the fire?"
"Well the paper called it an act of God.  Said it was a freak storm. Bolt of lightning strikes the barn the same night that my mom's caught and locked up in Caulfield."
Wyatt Long's horses are named "Diamond" and "Silk".
Jesse Manes' beer of choice is "Polestaff".
Cam's postcard from Charlie (Likely the reason she came back to Roswell) says:
"See you back in Roswell --Charlotte"
Top left corner says "Greetings from Roswell, NM".
It was mailed to Jenna at the Green Hill Motel in Dayton, Ohio.
Jenna says it's not Charlie's handwriting.
Tumblr media
Isobel in the mindwarp: "And what's your dream, Arturo? What would be your miracle? What do you pray for?"
Arturo & Rosa's fight…
"Did that fool give you drugs? I'll kill him!"
"Ow! You're hurting me! That's child abuse!"
"Everything I do I do to hold you up and you see it as abuse. I don't know what to do anymore!"
"Yeah right." Rosa falls down and laughs.
"This isn't funny! Sheriff Valenti won't give you any more chances."
"You should be happy. You wanted me to be on the field hockey team, remember? You said I should make friends and have good American fun."
"Who sold you the pills?"
"I stole them."
"Was it Frederico?"
"You wouldn't believe me."
"Tell me the truth!"
"It was Mom! She's either too high to notice that they're missing, or she knows and she doesn't care."
"You're lying to me. I don't know how to help you."
"So stop trying then. I'm beyond hope anyway, right? That's what everyone else in this town thinks."
"Maybe you're right. I'm going for a drive."
Arturo tried to register with Instagram as PancakePapi!! He ended up with PancakePapi58!
Scene with Steph and her dad...FIRST MENTION OF SOPAPILLAS ON THE SHOW!!! 🤤🤤🤤🤤 (They're the best...in New Mexican restaurants they're like, both an appetizer and a dessert.  They're like hollow fried bread that you eat with honey. Delicious.)  See here:
Tumblr media
Plus it gave the show another opportunity to be authentically New Mexican through food references.  (Last season it was in episode 2 when Arturo asked,"red or green?" And Liz replied "Christmas!". In New Mexico that means half red half green chile smothering her plate.) Like so:
Tumblr media
1948...unclear how much time has passed, but Louise says months.
The kid's name is Walt.  (Walt Long?? Some other last name?).
Nora says that under the tarp is the "pumpkin launcher" and it's a surprise.
Nora says it's not safe for Michael here, "but soon."
"Hey do you smell that? It smells like rain.  It's what you smell like under all the grease and bourbon.  It's what your workshop smells like. Something alien happened here. Not that I can still smell it 70 years later."
"This is the best evidence I've seen that Max and Isobel's mother survived the initial firefight. This is something that you do with family."
"Nora's my mother. If she was here at the same time as Louise…"
Note - when did they confirm who Louise was or that she was Max & Isobel's mom? This has not happened narratively yet.
Since Walt was a young kid, Alex thinks there's a chance he's still alive (though at the end Nora definitely thought he died when the barn blew up. I suspect that Walt survived and is the key to the story...not fact, just speculation.)
Forrest: "The foreman, Roy Bronson, was definitely hiding something.  But it wasn't Little Green Men. It was Nazi spies."
"This is like Junior Year eraser room, getting caught by Coach Wiggins."
OG callback to the eraser room being the high school makeout spot. OG, "the eraser room takes our innocence."
Rosa in Spanish "¿En serio?" Basically "are you serious!?!" Or "really?" When the blender shorts out (awfully similar to her first Noah nightmare in 2x01)
"...when Charlie told me she had stole classified documents, I reported her.  I thought I was doing the right thing and the military put her in prison."
"Right. Where she was safe."
"No. I… I didn't know who she really was when I turned her in. I didn't know what prison would do to her."
"She wanted you to turn her in, Jenna. She set you up to do so. She knew that as long as she was in government custody no one could get to her."
"Charlie fought in two wars.  Who was she afraid of?"
"A private securities firm, most likely.  You know that I met her? She was working on this genetic sequencing project that had the potential to save lives, but also destroy them. And there were some people out there who saw applications for her research that went beyond her intentions."
"She was doing research that could help save lives, and people wanted to use it to create a bioweapon."
"Well yeah, she created this pathogen that could seek out and dismantle specific sequences. Just think about it -- a smart bomb that could be detonated in the middle of a crowded city, only harm it's intended target. Think about the innocent civilian lives saved while you take out leaders of terrorist organizations."
"Or commit genocide. If her work fell into the wrong hands, it could quietly wipe out entire groups of people because they share a certain genetic code, while their neighbors go about living their lives.  Why do you know so much about this? What's your interest in my sister?"
"I believed that I had a use for her pathogen, at one time. But my fight is over now."
A few notes about this exchange.
Clearly Charlie's pathogen is the key ingredient in the smart bomb that Flint was developing, as discussed in 1x12.
Liz's "personal genome machine" can break down the alien genetics and give Project Shepherd what they need to use a smart bomb on the aliens.
Don't forget, her lab is protected by Air Force security set up by "Alex's team". (Badbadbadbad!)
Rosa describing her bipolarism.
"I get these mood swings sometimes. Like, I can be happy and singing one minute, and then, all of a sudden, this darkness just closes in over me, and I have all these voices telling me that I'm worthless."
Jesse gives Cam the name of the security firm looking for Charlie.  We don't see the name of it. He warns her to be careful. "I may be hobbled but they are not."
"Now, you were hunting aliens, and I gave you Max's name. Why didn't you lock him up in Caulfield with the rest?"
"I don't know.  I guess I feel like there's a story unfolding in Roswell. Has been for more than 50 years.  You can't blame me for wanting to see how it ends."
Catherine Zeta-Jones in a laser maze -- Liz is referencing the 1999 movie Entrapment.
Liz trying to science-intrigue Kyle….
"Interesting historical footnote. There was an internment camp in Roswell. Nazi POWs built half this city.  Hence the iron crosses. My great-great grandfather BoDean's foreman got busted for hiding a couple of women here. According to him 'A couple Nazi spies escaped and strudeled their schnitzel for room and board right here on this very farm.  See, I was never really as into shooting squirrels as Wyatt is, so, when I came out here for summers as a kid, my cousin Kate and I -- we'd prowl the property for artifacts."
"You know, what we're doing you and me -- it doesn't only have to be for Max...once Max is healthy, we could use this genome machine to Target cellular apoptosis.  I mean, we could craft polymerase sequencing in human DNA. We don't have to stop. We have no boards, no restrictions…"
Apoptosis is also sometimes referred to as "cellular suicide" or "spontaneous single cell death".
Polymerase is like the building blocks of DNA.
In other words, Liz is really, really smart.
FORREST LONG!!!!!! 😂😂😂.
Alex on the bullet shells: "These match the M1917s the airmen used in '48.
"They were scattered all over the property. Legend has it the Nazis we're building some kind of bomb in the barn. Then one night the Air Force showed up."
"The night of the fire."
"The blaze burned so hot it turned sand to stone. Papers say that lightning struck the barn and everyone died in the flames, but...that's bull.  See I think the Air Force covered up the massacre that happened when they discovered that weapon.
Tumblr media
A few things on this scene…
Forrest mentions his cousin Kate...Wyatt's sister who was murdered by Noah in 2008.  So Forrest is Wyatt Long's cousin.
Substitute Nazi for alien and it's probably all based somewhat based in truth.  In the 1940s that definitely would have been a reasonably obvious way to cover it up, especially given the history that Forrest cites and the military culture in Roswell.
Note: POW = prisoner of war
The iron crosses Forrest references…
Article on the German POWs in the Roswell Daily Record…
Walt was hiding in the barn when Tripp made it explode.  Explosion looked shimmery, like the alien ship & tech.
Also, more info than you ever wanted to know about the Roswell Army Air Field/Walker Air Force Base/Roswell International Air Center...including some info on the POWs.
Sheriff Valenti's theory on Noah's death:
"I think Max Evans poisoned Noah and left him in the desert the night of the lightning storm, and I think Isobel Evans was in on it."
Kyle says it would take gallons of acetone to poison someone.
Tripp was Alex's great uncle
Nora was working on a ship to take the pods home.
Tumblr media
TRIPP MANES!!!  Full name is Eugene Manes III.
Alex finally gives Michael the piece of alien ship he's had.  He doesn't want to be another Manes man standing in Michael's way.
Cam's voicemail to Liz.
"Got a lead on my sister.  Give me a call when you get that tin-star-wearing E.T. awake, so I can curse him out for worrying us all. Good luck Liz. Bring Max home."
Arturo's Spanish to Liz and Rosa.
"Das gracias a Dios.  Gracias todos los dias."
Translates generally to "Thank God.  Thanks every day."
Isobel's monologue at the end:
"The idea of God always freaked me out. Like, apparently he made people in his own image, which, first of all, get over yourself. And also, does that apply to us? Does every planet have its own God? Let's say that we're all clones of the big guy in the sky. Well then, doesn't it stand to reason that we're all capable of slinging light? Well I guess by that same token we're all capable of tremendous wrath. We're walking contradictions. A never-ending mercurial rise and fall. Darkness and light. I guess the real miracle is choosing the light. Despite the ever-present darkness. Look at us. You're in the middle of a downright biblical desert, galaxies from where we started. I mean, our very existence is a miracle. I'm capable of so much more than I thought I was, Max. I really think that maybe I could do great things. I need you to come back, okay? I need you to be the thing that I can believe in. That doesn't let me down. I just need this one little miracle, and I promise I won't ever ask for anything ever again."

A LunaTic and her Gunn (Part 14)
"To Clvlnd She Goes"
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Colson tells Emma that Luna is going to fly in tonight so they can have lunch tomorrow.
"Is she staying with you?" She asks.
"Nah, she's gonna stay down town." He reassures her. They agree on a time, Emma calls her mom to confirm Colson can drop Casi off for while. "Cool. Thanks Em."
She nods her head, smiling at him. "You're welcome." She says before he walks off to collect Casi.
--------------------------------------------------
After booking her flight, Luna heads back to Ashley's. She's home now, chilling on the couch with Jagger. Luna tells her of her plans to fly out to Cleveland. Ashley's shocked. She knows Casi but she didn't meet her until she and Kells had been friends for a good while. "Wow!" She says, cocking her head back.
"I know. It's like meeting his mom, but obviously not his mom, you know?" Replies Luna.
Ashley doesn't want to but she can't help but laugh. Luna's never done well with parents or any type of authority. "Well, she is an important mother to him. Considering..." Referring not only to Emma being Casi's mother but also to Colson's own absentee mother.
"I know." Says Luna quietly "That's why it's important and I don't wanna make a bad first impression."
"You'll be fine. We're not 17 anymore. She's a mom, but she's your peer. Just be your shining, brilliant self." She says popping off the couch. "Now come on, I'll help you pack AND even drive youuuuuuu."
"Oh, FUCK! A ride to the airport?? Now THAT'S friendship!!! Laughs Luna as the girls head up stairs."
--------------------------------------------------
Luna gets comfortable on the bed, pulling out her vape pen. The flight was smooth and she had easily ubered to the hotel.
She'd FaceTimed Colson once she'd checked in and had gotten settled. He was home playing FortNite Casi. They spoke for a bit, he gave her shit for not letting him pick her up. She told him to shut up, that she was fine and to enjoy hanging out with Casi. He's going to pick her up around 1230 tomorrow, after he drops Casi off. They exchange goodnights and I love yous.
He texts her his Snap code later and sends her a dick pic through it. She screenshots it but doesn't reply.
"A little teasing never hurt no body..." She thinks as she snuggles into the bed. After a few minutes she misses Colson. She Snaps him her slender legs propped up, toes and tattoos in full view. She tries to fall asleep after, hating the familiar feeling of a once full but now empty bed. It makes her think of Justin. "But you'll SEE him tomorrow." She reassures herself before popping a lunesta to shut her mind up.
--------------------------------------------------
Casi and Colson had hung out, played video games and now she was in bed. He's in his own too, smoking a joint, waiting for Luna to Snap him back. She does. When he sees it, he instantly gets hard. He screenshots it so he can jerk off to her.
"Fuck, she gets me!" He thinks as he easily cums. Once he lays back down, he looks over at his empty bed missing Luna. "Soon enough." He falls asleep with dreams of their future adventures together dancing in his head.
--------------------------------------------------
Colson and Luna arrive at Blue Point for lunch. Emma is already seated and watches them come in. They're dressed causally but stylish. Luna in a black lace top, cuffed ripped boyfriend jeans and nude heels. Colson spots Emma and waves holding Luna's hand, leading her to the table with him.
"Hey!" He says leaning over to peck Emma. "Emma this Luna. Luna, Emma." He introduces them.
Luna smiles brightly and reaches her hand out to Emma. "Hi! Nice to meet you!" She says.
"You too." Responds Emma, taking her hand. Once they sit down, the server greets them. Taking their drink and appetizer order. Emma asks how they met. Colson first speaks of their past not meeting all those years ago. It rings a bell in Emma's head. "Don't tell me you're The Girl in the Cheetah Print coat!!" She exclaims, astonished.
Luna laughs and looks at Colson. One look. He blushes. "Yup!! This is her." He says proudly, throwing his arm around her without a thought.
They order food. Conversation between Emma and Luna flows easily. Emma asks Luna what she does, where she lives, if she has any kids.
Luna answers, that she calls NY home. That she does not have any children. Explains that she does a little of everything. That she's a singer/songwriter on an independent label. How she's had a few art showings and has successfully sold some solid pieces. That she enjoys scouting, shooting and helping upcoming artist break through. She mentions a bit of her political activism.
"Wait, so you went to Flint?" Emma asks, impressed.
"Yeah, we loaded up 3 large Uhauls, packed to the gills with thousands of cases of water and drove them from NY to MI. I went the first 3 times to establish a solid connection, then set it up to where there's been 2 full monthly deliveries for the last 4yrs. It's still not nearly enough though. So, I'm currently working with this great guy in the community, Gary. We're building a class action lawsuit at the moment. We're preparing to take it all the way to the Supreme Court, if we have too. Not that those biased fucks will really do anything... But we either fight or die, right?" Luna concludes.
"Wow." That's really admirable." Emma says listening intently.
"I have the platform, resources and the intelligence to help. I'd be a Fucking dick and a part of the problem, if I didn't." Luna says with a sadness in her eyes.
Emma nods in agreement.
She looks at Luna seriously, making her nervous. "I feel like I can ask you things and you'll answer them honestly, which I truly respect and appreciate." She continues looking over at Colson "I like you, you seem like a strong, independent, educated, KIND woman, who can potentially have a very positive influence.." She looks at Colson again "Over our daughter. But I have to ask you. What drugs do you do?"
Luna laughs, catching Emma off gaurd. "I'm so sorry. That was incredibly rude. You just me threw me off!" Luna apologizes. "To answer your question, I smoke a LOT of pot. I LOVE a mushroom and maybe some pure MDMA, but I don't fuck around with scary drugs. Like meth or heroin. I'm already too hype for coke. I drink but... Pot, pot's the go to. Always."
Emma looks at her, appreciating how candid she is. Then she looks at Colson, who's staring at her. Hard. "You know how much coke Colson blows?" She asks dead out.
"What the fuck, Em??" Colson throws his long arms out.
"I'm only asking Colson, because if you're serious enough to want her to meet Casi. Then, I need to know, that she knows what she's getting herself into. So, that our little girl doesn't get attached and her heart broken, if Luna decides it's too much in 6mnths." Emma states emotionally.
"You think I'd bring Cas around someone who I didn't think was gonna ride with me for the long haul??" He snaps back.
Luna interrupts them both. "Guys, chill out." She grabs Colson's thigh with her left hand squeezing it under the table. While she reaches across the table with her right, to lightly touch Emma's hand. "It's ok. It's a valid question, Bunny. That's why we're here." She says looking at Colson. Then she turns to Emma, "Honestly, obviously I know he does blow and addies, I don't know how much because I don't do it with him, but I have an idea." Luna pauses. Then continues. "No one can guarantee anything in this life, but as adults we CAN control our own actions. The only thing I can tell you, with absolution, woman to woman. Is that, I've never done this before. Being in love with a man who has a child. I will guarantee, to you, her MOTHER. That if I do develop a relationship with your daughter and for some crazy reason Colson and I don't work out. I still have control over my own actions and if Casi wanted to continue being friends with me, as long as it was ok with both of you, I WILL make it a point to maintain my relationship with her. IF, it came to that, which I do NOT think it will. Because, honestly. I love Colson, Emma. For all of his greatness and all of his flaws. I'm all in. If I wasn't, we both know I wouldn't have cared to jump on a plane last night to be here today. This. Colson. Casi. Your opinion. They're all very important to me." She squeezes Emma's hand slightly, giving her a comforting smile.
"Fuck." Is all that Colson can think. Completely enamoured.
"Thank you." Emma says. "That is a lot more mature and understanding than I expected from someone without kids." She smiles at Luna.
"No. Thank you for giving me a chance. Kids fucking terrify me." Luna let's out a light laugh.
"Well, be ready then because Cas is a pistol!!" Emma laughs with her.
Colson watches both women enjoy each other's company while they finish lunch. "Wow." Is all he can think, falling even more in love with Luna while being equally grateful for Emma.
--------------------------------------------------
Heading back from lunch, Colson tells Luna how much her coming to meet with Emma means to him. "I know, Bunny." She says. Going on to express her relief of how well it went. That, when they were leaving though, she wasn't surprised that her and Emma had hugged sincerely, before parting ways. As she sweetly, leans over to kiss him on the cheek.
But it's not enough for her. So she moves to his jaw, then his ear, his neck. While her hands slide over his pants unbuckling them, pulling out his hard cock. He lifts his ass so she can slide his pants off slightly. Then she takes his cock into her mouth.
"God Daaaamnn!!!" Colson thinks, trying to focus on the road.
"FUUUUUCK, BUNNY!!!" He groans loudly lifting his hips, pushing himself deeper into her mouth. As they drive through downtown Cleveland, she sucks his cock intently. He cums just as they pull up to the hotel. "JESUS FUCKING CHRIST." He says in exasperated satisfaction. She pops her head up. He wipes the stray cum from her open mouth. "You're so fucking HOT. I love that you swallow." He smiles at her, his hand resting on her face, from where he wiped his excess cum. "Want me to come up and return the favor? He asks.
"Mmmmmm...as hard as that is to turn down. You should get back to Casi. She's waiting on you and I've taken enough of her time today."
"Are you sure? What are you gonna do?"
"Honestly? I'm probably gonna go upstairs and book a flight tonight. I'd rather get back to LA late and tired, then be weird and manic in a city I don't know." She laughs.
"You can come over and hang out with me and Cas."
"Nahh... this is her time. Are you coming back to LA with her?
"Yeah, tomorrow. Especially if you're leaving tonight."
"You talk to Casi, like I said, tell her about me, ask HER if she'd like to meet me and let her choose where. Even if I don't meet her officially tomorrow, I'll slide by to see you." She says kissing him.
"Aight." He begrudgingly agrees.
"I love you. I'll let you know when my flight is and no matter what, will see you tomorrow." She says kissing him deeply. He agrees before she slides out of his Cobra. "Looooove you." She beams before closing the door.
"LOVE YOU!!!!" He hollers, laughing from inside the car before he pulls off.
--------------------------------------------------
"Fuuuuuck, I love him...... Damn! She's REEEEEEALLY nice, I wasn't sure how this would go, but I enjoyed her a lot." Luna thinks, happily trotting into the hotel. "That was much less painful than you had anticipated, ya freak." She mocks herself, laughing, heading to her room.
**********************************************
"I knew Em would like Loons. How can you not? I can't wait for Cas to meet her. They're gonna have so much fun together.... She really is amazing." His heart gets a little sad, missing her already as he heads to pick up Casi.

Episode 202: Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space - Details
EPISODE SUMMARY:
Liz (Jeanine Mason) is forced to put her latest experiment on hold after Rosa (Amber Midthunder) begins to struggle with her new life in Roswell. Reluctant to face the truth about his mother’s past, Michael (Michael Vlamis) turns his attention to helping Maria (Heather Hemmens), who is dealing with her own family crisis. Elsewhere, Isobel (Lily Cowles) agrees to join her mother for a day of spiritual healing to keep herself distracted. Finally, Rosa turns to Kyle (Michael Trevino) to learn the truth about what really happened the night she died. Tyler Blackburn and Trevor St. John also star. Lance Anderson directed the episode written by Eva McKenna (#202.) Original airdate 3/23/2020.
DETAILS:
Secret lab is in an Indian Boarding School that was shut down. The Air Force bought it. It's been empty for 40 years (i.e., since approx. 1979). Part of Alex's job is to monitor it.
Security was set up by Alex’s team. They follow orders and don’t ask questions. (But that also means other soldiers know about it.)
Max's password was password. 🙄
Liz lies to Rosa. "It was beautiful. The whole town came. Everyone joined in the rosario. Mom sang Las Golondrinas. Dad wanted you in a white dress but I insisted on your Live Through This t-shirt."
According to: https://blog.sevenponds.com/cultural-perspectives/tradition-spanish-funeral “Nine days after the death, the family holds a ceremony known as a “rosario.” It consists of candles, flowers, prayers and sharing memories of the person who has died. The rosario also takes place every year on the anniversary of the person’s death.”
Las Golondrinas
Rosa Nightmare #1… unclear when it started since it flowed directly from her on the couch, doing graffiti around town, seeing her dad. Assuming it starts when she goes to the Wild Pony, pours herself a drink, hesitates, and then Max appears.
Max and Rosa's exchange:.
"What are you waiting for? You have to stop Liz. Tell her she can't bring me back, Rosa."
"Why? Why don't you want her to save you?"
"I can't take it anymore. Just end it."
"They'll figure it out. They'll save you."
"I can't wait that long. It's like burning alive from inside."
"She's never going to stop trying."
"Then you have to stop her. Please!"
Rosa wants her sketchbook from the bookshelf in their room. (Later in the episode when she breaks in we see that the bookshelf is empty. Liz cleared out Rosa's things in 1x07.)
Rosa's old email [email protected] (90s music reference to the band Everclear).
Michael is experimenting by blow torching a piece of alien ship.
Apparently it was Lindsay (of Hank and Lindsay) that Michael made out with. Seeing as it's only been a month since Hank died (2 weeks passed in 2x01, Maria says in 2x02 that her mom has been missing for 2 weeks), and the big guy was pissed about Michael making out with her, she moves on pretty quickly!
Maria is meeting with a private detective.
Science babble! "Human tissue can obviously regenerate from stem cells. With the right methodology I could use your blood (Isobel) to make adjustments for alien physiology. I have to monitor exactly when cell degradation begins, down to the second. I can't miss it. Eight hours before I need to be back.
Michael is developing nanotechnology to make the transplant possible. "It's like replacing parts in a broken machine."
They harvested all of Noah’s primary organs. "I have his body parts in jars."
Isobel steals what looks like an empty syringe. But at the end of the episode she has the serum in it.
New brand of fake beer! (Last season it was always Copper black lager. Now it's Hunks and Heroes Lager! Broken bottles were on the ground in the cemetery, Wyatt Long is carrying a bottle at the beginning of the scene when he and Michael fight (which could tie him to the graffiti on Rosa's grave), and also has a bottle in front of him on his YouTube video.
Michael is holding a bag from Milikan Value Hardware Store.
Flint's report on Caulfield: "Shepherd Protocol was activated. Bodies were disposed of without incident. Local papers ran an item confirming that the long-scheduled demolition of the prison was a success."
Exchange between Jesse and Flint:
"Dad, I don't think we should have covered it up. People should know."
"Do you have any idea what would happen if we confirmed that alien specimens were once housed at Caulfield but are now suddenly gone? It'd be dismissed as fake news. Buried by a racist tweet within seconds. No, we need to make a bigger statement."
"'Cause justice can't be served until after disaster has struck."
"That's right."
Really don't want to transcribe the racist rant from Wyatt Long that Rosa watches, although I will if y'all demand it. I don't think it's relevant beyond Rosa learning the truth. However as a detail I want to note, the video is titled BUILD THE WALL! IN MEMORY OF KATE LONG and it's dated September 3, 2010 (so 2 years and a few months after they died). Amusing side note. The comments on the video. Great fake usernames:
fayhuman: Kate Long didn't deserve what happened.
Curious Murphy: I just donated to the cause!!
thecyberwitch48: is this really the best solution?
Isobel’s baby is at 5 weeks, the size of a lentil.
Isobel calls Ann "Mama". Good note for fic writers! 😉
Maria's class: "Woman as Warrior: Strength Training for the Mind, Body, and Spirit."
Under the Bridge - same location as in 1x03 where Liz finds Rosa's paint canister.
Maria's cards:
Maria DeLuca
Psychic Reader
Spirit Leader
Social Media Revitalizer
Great line: "The infinite reservoir of strength and healing within us all" 😂👏
Rosa's chart…
"What's this error here?"
"Must be a contaminated sample."
"No way. I'm meticulous."
Steph says regarding the error on Rosa’s test “Congrats. Looks like you just discovered a protein never before found in the human body. Or you didn't get the Flamin' Hot orange dust off your hands when you scrubbed in. Whichever's most likely."
Michael to Liz, "I was working. I went home to find formulas I worked out years ago…"
Rosa is reciting Niebuhr's Serenity Prayer, which is commonly used by AA and other 12 step programs.
Noah was struck by lightning directly in the heart.
Isobel’s moment of epiphany:
"Using your newfound goddess strength I want you to get up and throw your fear into the fire. Set yourself free. You're a warrior. You aren't afraid of anything. Draw upon your feminine power. Why are you hesitating, Isobel? The sooner you throw your paper in the fire the sooner you can leave."
"Look, it's not that simple, okay? I can't just throw this into the fire." Maria gasps and rubs her chest, similar to how she did when she realized her necklace was missing at the beginning in 1x10) "I'm trapped.
Ann: "This is my fault. I put too much pressure on you."
"It's nobody's fault. It's just here."
Maria: "Whatever it is, you can choose to set yourself free. Say it. 'Say I choose to set myself free.'"
"I choose to set myself free."
Maria: "Louder."
"I choose to set myself free."
Rosa breaks into the Crashdown. It mirrors her first nightmare in 2x01, but it's not a dream. She goes to her room, sees the empty bookshelf, goes to the closet, and snags a hidden bottle of tequila.
Camera lingers on Steph stuffing a bottle of nail polish remover in her purse. Note: she was actually doing her nails.
Michael and Alex's conversation mostly mirrors the information we learned from the file in last week's episode. She wasn't caught until October 1948 and the crash was June 1947. She was the last alien captured and admitted into Caulfield. Alex thinks people in Roswell might have known her.
Liz says that the accident never made sense to her because when Rosa was 12, Mamma Ortecho drove drunk with Liz and Rosa in the car, hit a bike, and flipped the car. Rosa told Mamma Ortecho that she would kill her if she ever drove drunk with Liz in the car again.
Rosa's tequila brand: Blistering Rose.
Rosa’s 2nd Nightmare: Rosa runs into the cave and starts beating on the pod. When she hits it, it sounds like metal (which doesn't seem like it would make sense given what we know about the pods).
Her conversation with Max:
"Leave me alone, you dick!"
"I am so much pain, Rosa."
"Oh really? So is everybody. Man up."
"Have some mercy. I saved your life."
"My life is gone. My mom bailed, I can't talk to my dad, my entire town hates me, and my sweet little sister is somebody that I don't even know. But I do know that she'll save you. She's gonna fix you and until then, leave me alone."
"I'd Liz won't stop then you have to do it. Go to the pod, pull me out, and walk away. You won't be killing me, Rosa. I'm already dead."
"I said no. Leave me alone."
"As long as that handprint is on you I can reach you."
"Fine. I'm an expert at quieting voices."
"No. Rosa, wait. Don't do anything stupid."
"I never dreamed when I was using."
