#DAICHI → the type of boyfriend that'll never let you walk closer to the busier side of the street ― he'll always be the one next to the busy street, walking side by side with you in the sidewalk while his arms are around you, keeping you close by so he won't lose you especially whenever there's a large crowd.

#SUGAWARA → never hesitates to take care and dote on you. whenever you're sick, he's always there by your side and never leaves you ― makes you hot porraige, constantly reminds you about the specific time you need to drink your medicine EVEN THOUGH he already has a reminder set on his phone for it ( ― just in case, he thinks. ) never wants to make you feel worse than you already are so he just lets you rests for the rest of the day and if you have class? he'll write notes for you so you wouldn't miss a thing.

#ASAHI → NEVER i mean NEVER raises his voice at you even if both of you guys are angry or fighting at each other ― he cares a lot about you and he if he needs to correct you on something, he knows that if he wants to drive a point, he doeesn't need to raise his voice to do so. what a softie.

#KIYOKO → she's a bit shy with showing her affections, but she tries her utmost best to convey her love to you ― one of them being if you ever needed her support with ANYTHING honestly, she'll always make it known to you that you have her full support and that she's always right beside you through everything.

#TANAKA → YOUR PERSONAL HYPEMAN !!! very vocal with his praises ― if he thinks you look absolutely smoking HOT right now with your outfit, he'll gladly always make sure you are aware of that and what you are doing to him. if you play a sport? you BET that he's your personal cheerleader, fuck gender roles <33

#NOYA → he's your pillar in life. not saying that you're dependent to him to the extent that it's unhealthy and you can't live without him ― but in a way that he'll never leave you in your most hardest times, the rock you could always hold onto in the midst of the raging ocean's waves crashing down at you at an incredible force. he's a dependable person in and out of the court and it shows through little ways he supports you and lifts you up in real life because he's your personal guardian diety.

#ENNOSHITA → fights with him never lasts long, that's just how it is ― even with the bigger fights it'll never lasts long, and he would NEVER even think of doing the silent treatment with you, he just can't. whenever he comes into terms with the problem and why it haopened, he'll come back to you and talk it out with you then cuddle you because he feels GOD AWFUL whenever fights occure.

#KINOSHITA → words of affirmations is his best friend. and not just with you but with the both of you, he likes cheering you on and give you support and will always be by your side. never pokes fun at your insecurities and rather eases them and does his best to make you feel anything but insecure.

#HINATA → buys you small gifts and souvenirs especially when he's out of the country for volleyball matches etc. and his reasons would be that when he looks at them, they reminded him of you ― so that's why you have tons of cute gifts and souvenirs when he comes back that you prolly don't know where to put but you don't care because he took the time to buy them for you which you find so adorable.

#KAGEYAMA → bought you milk everyday ever since y'all became an item, sometimes dropping them in your bag ( especially when you had a bad day, which makes it a bit better. ) or in your locker and bonus if he adds a scribbled note with just a cute yet somehow KINDA stiff happy face ― which oddly enough, reminds you of him; stiff yet cute, and no other context in it ― just a happy face but it conveys everything that he wanted to say to you. and probably adds a "have a good day." when he knows practice will be a bit more later than usual and may or may not be able to walk home from school with you.

#YAMAGUCHI → remembers the little things; your favourite food, your favourite sweaters and hoodies you like to borrow from him so he could purposesly bring them for you to use ― and not just your favourite things but every little fact about you that he sometimes just randomly brings up, shoking you because wow, he still remembers that? so whenever you guys go on a date to a cafe y'all have already been to, he doesn't need to know what you wanna order since, he already memorized your order from before. it's just the intimacy of knowing you know?

#TSUKISHIMA → has a playlist of the songs you love that he sometimes like to listen to, especially when he misses you and you're away from him. makes you a playlist of song recommendations and songs that he likes that he thinks you might also vibe with. and one time he casually hums one of your favourite songs, making you look at him eyes kinda wide just for him to look at you in a deadpan express and ask you if anything was wrong. bonus !! he bought earphones so that both of you could listen at one of your guys' playlist together <33

#YACHI → i feel like she loves photography as it is a branch of art, so she loves taking stolen cute picures of you and making it her wallpaper ― she also loves sketching you, like her sketchbook and artbook is full of sketches of your face ― you're her muse. and whenever she's having an art block? she'll look at her best sketches of you and recreates them ― lines all full of both her passion for art and you.

Cut The Cameras

Overhead

Friday, August 28. 4:56 P.M.

“Great job today!” Y/N says with a bright smile on his face. They’ve just finished filming the last of the scenes that take place at Kenma’s house. Y/N looks over at Tsukishima. “Will we be seeing you at the next film sessions?”

“Depends if I have practice or class,” Tsukishima says, and Y/N nods. Kenma can’t help but notice how forced Y/N’s smile is.

The outburst from just a little over a week ago stuck with Kenma as Y/N acts like himself but isn’t himself. He feels like he doesn’t know Y/N well enough to be able to tell. It doesn’t matter that they text frequently and Y/N has him posting vlog content, because they’ve not even known each other for three months. Less than three months, and Y/N has become important in Kenma’s life.

It’s so easy to get caught up in the newness and the easiness of their friendship and these simmering feelings he has, but he has to control himself. He has to breathe. Kenma has never been someone to get too attached so fast, but Y/N makes it easy. He makes it easy to give in and share the world with him.

“Alright, unless anyone has any questions, I think we’re done for today,” Y/N says, and Akaashi’s hand raises. “Akaashi-san?”

“I don’t mean to intrude, but where is Masaru-san?” Akaashi asks, and the forced smile falls from Y/N’s face. The person Kenma saw at the café over two weeks ago is making their way back to the surface. Someone who is infuriated and powerless and sad.

“Masaru will no longer be part of the film,” Y/N says, and he’s speaking through his teeth as he tries to breathe. Kenma watches Y/N closely, how he picks at his nails instead of running away.

“Is he okay?” Yachi asks, and their eyes are wide with concern. Kenma can’t blame them, because Y/N’s posture has become so stiff and he’s no longer picking at his nails, but has his hands clenched into tight fists. He’s terrifying.

“He’s where he needs to be,” Y/N says, but there’s a bite in his voice that makes Kenma flinch. He can’t even say he doesn’t recognize this Y/N, because he does. He’s seen him before.

Tooru hurries over to Y/N and wraps an arm around his shoulder. Y/N allows it this time and leans into his embrace. “Masaru is okay. He’s just with my parents right now in Chiba,” Tooru says, and the tension in the room dissipates slightly. “Everything is okay. There’s no need to worry.”

That familiar tightness in Kenma’s chest at the sight of Tooru and Y/N being close and so happy comes back. He’s never wanted to be someone who got jealous, because that’s never been who he is. Sometimes it’s just easy to be upset that he’s not the one standing next to Y/N. He hates that he feels like this now, though. Something is clearly going on, and all he feels is jealousy. He hates the person he’s become.

“Onto more important matters,” Y/N says, as if Masaru isn’t important. Maybe he’s just trying to ignore whatever the situation is. It’s all Kenma can figure since Y/N clearly loves and cares for Masaru—has him as “Little Brother” in his phone. “Summer break is halfway over, so we should try to get as much filming done as we can.”

They’ll meet next Saturday to re-film some things Y/N learned didn’t come out well while editing. This time, they’ll all meet at Y/N and Tooru’s apartment before going to anywhere else they need to. Kenma finds himself just agreeing with whatever Y/N wants to do, because Y/N isn’t acting like himself anymore.

Everyone has left when Kenma heads to his room to put his phone on the charger. He needs to get ready to stream soon as well, so he should either order takeout or heat something out. He’s heading to the kitchen when he notices the front door is still open. This has never been an issue before. Everyone closes the door quietly whenever they leave—including Bokuto when he’s able to come over.

So, he walks over to the door and then sees Y/N in the living room, grabbing something. Y/N looks over his shoulder, and they make eye contact. He’s already put on his hat, clearly having already left, but had to come back in.

“Sorry, I forgot my headphones,” Y/N says as he lifts up the headphones Kenma bought him. “I tried to be quiet, since I know you need to stream soon.”

“It’s fine,” Kenma says, and it feels so uncomfortable. It’s never felt like this before. It’s always been smiles and jokes. Why is it different now? “Do you have everything?”

Y/N slowly nods. “Yeah, I better go.” He doesn’t move. “Since Tooru is waiting in the car for me.”

Kenma likes Tooru—he really does. Tooru is kind and funny and nice to talk to. He thinks if Y/N didn’t exist, he’d like Tooru instead. He pushes the thought away whenever it comes to mind, because he wants Y/N. You’re only ever allowed to like one person at a time, and he experiences jealousy whenever Tooru is with Y/N. So, he has to like only Y/N. Hearing Y/N say Tooru is waiting for him makes him upset. It shouldn’t.

“Yeah,” Kenma says, because what else is he supposed to say? It’s not like he’s even thought about sharing these feelings with anyone but Shoyo, so saying anything else doesn’t make any sense.

Y/N turns and starts walking toward the door before turning back to Kenma. “I’m sorry,” he says loudly. His eyes are wide, as if he didn’t expect to say it. He takes a deep breath before nodding. “I’m sorry,” he says again, but far calmer.

“What for?” Kenma asks, because there’s nothing Y/N needs to apologize to him for.

“Snapping today and the last time we saw each other.” Y/N lets out a heavy deep breath, but it’s not a sigh. “Things have just been… hard recently, and I’ve taken it out on everyone. So, I’m sorry.”

“It’s okay,” Kenma says, trying to reassure him. Although he doesn’t like when Y/N snaps, he can learn to understand it. “You don’t need to apologize.”

“But I do,” Y/N says, stern. “I don’t have the right to act like that and don’t say I do. I’m sorry.”

Kenma nods. “I accept your apology.”

The corners of Y/N’s eyes crinkle—he’s smiling. Kenma wants to apologize now. He wants to tell him sorry for having these feelings for him, because they’re only getting worse. Right now he wants to kiss Y/N, and he doesn’t think he’s ever wanted to do that before. He’s never wanted to kiss anyone before, so it feels wrong to want to kiss someone who has a significant other and doesn’t like you back. Liking Akaashi was nothing like this. Nothing could’ve prepared Kenma for this.

“Thank you,” Y/N says, and he sounds so happy and genuine. “Now, I’ve really got to go. I’ll see you later, yeah?”

Kenma nods. “Yeah,” he says, and sometimes he wishes he could say more, but he never knows what to say.

Y/N waves before leaving, and Kenma is left in his home alone finally while Y/N is with Tooru. He wishes Y/N stayed with him. He wishes he wasn’t alone. Part of him wishes something will happen with Y/N that makes these feelings go away. Shoyo said Kenma just has to figure out Y/N, but it’s difficult or maybe it isn’t and Kenma isn’t trying. He doesn’t know. All he knows is his home feels so empty with Shoyo out with Yachi and Tadashi.

He needs to focus on the stream he’s expected to do soon. He needs to stop thinking about everything else. Whenever he plays games, it gets easier not to think about things, but will that work with Y/N, who he thinks about more than he will admit to anyone? Or will he just continue thinking about Y/N and it throw him off his game in front of thousands of people?

Kenma makes a hot pocket before fixing his hair to not be as messy as it had been. He gets ready for the stream and realizes he left his nice headphones in the living room since Kousaka wanted to use them for his camera. He quickly goes to get them and finds a note next to them. Kenma doesn’t have to pick it up to recognize whose handwriting it is: Y/N.

He picks it up, and the note is short. “Kenma’s hair looks really pretty today.”

His cheeks heat up, and then he notices writing on the back. He doesn’t recognize this handwriting, though. He’s fairly certain he’s seen it before, but he’s not sure where.

“You always say that.”

Kenma feels so nauseous, which is strange. He should be happy to know that this is what Y/N thinks. Y/N thinks his hair is pretty. Y/N isn’t repulsed by him physically. But all he feels is hope building in his chest when hope shouldn’t be building. Nothing will ever come out of it, even if Y/N thinks his hair is pretty.

For the first time in two years, he cancels a stream and blames it on a made-up assignment because he’d rather miss a day than make a fool of himself. (He’s pretty sure he’s already doing that, even though he’s not trying to.)

The reason why Yamamoto had the audacity to ask Y/N that question was because Yaku joked that Yamamoto is scared of Kenma.

Yamamoto being himself and wanting to prove that he is not afraid of anything not even their genius setter, commented on Y/N’s tweet.

The both of them have been suspecting that Kenma and Y/N are dating since they saw all of Kenma’s snaps.

Kuroo is keeping his mouth and not telling them anything, not even teasing Kenma about it because Kuroo knows Kenma would tell everyone what he has been up to these days.

And Kuroo doesn’t want them to know because he is saving himself from all the teasing he’ll get if they did find out.

There were a lot of Kenma’s fans that commented on Y/N’s tweet, either asking when are you going to be in one of his streams or asking what’s your relationship with him.

crushes for yachi had always been fleeting ; she'd get crushes on girls she thinks that are too pretty and out of her league.

that charming teacher that seemed to be so young for his position, or perhaps the girl from the library she briefly conversed about this certain art book.

─ but it'll always be, once again, just a passing crush.

( ─ the art of it's evanscent tendencies were what seemed to attract her, despite her lack of awareness for it. )

yet with you, everything seemed to slow down for her. it was though as if time was held by her dainty hands, and everytime she was with you, everything seemed to be in slow motion.

but she didn't mind. whatever it was, perhaps it was the escalation of her heart palpitations whenever she was with you ─ or maybe it was the decreasement of velocity whenever you smile at her.

“ hitoka !! ” you waved your hand in the air, catching her attention while you jog your way to her direction; her flushed cheeks going unnoticed ─ she thanks god ─ as she waved back softly and gently, flustered.

she didn't know, and maybe she didn't want to know. as long she was with you, she didn't mind them.

“ let's go to the mall ─ can we? i heard there's a huge sale for art supplies, let's get you some new ones !! ” you hooked your arms with hers.

“ o ─ okay !! ” yachi squeeked, nodding vigirously at you.

she wanted to remain ignorant over the growing feelings; to remain oblivious, she just wanted this moment ─ no, her moment with you, to prolong as much as she could.

and if supressing her feelings for you was the only way to do it, she'll take any chances she gets.

( ─ even if it means she'll get hurt in the end. )
