it took the average shinobi about 90 hours to travel from kirigakure to konoha. and that was without taking breaks in between
you, on the other hand, were not quite the average shinobi
being one of the fifth mizukage’s top shinobi, you’d easily make it in a few hours tops due to your great chakra and the body flicker technique
it always threw shika off just how fast you could travel
one minute he’s thinking about writing you a letter to tell you how much he misses you and that the two of you NEED to spend some time together
the next minute, you’re actually at his door saying “surprise!”
shika was used to you showing up at his home, even at ungodly hours like tonight
he didn’t mind it really, since the two of you never got to spend a lot of time together during the day due to your shinobi duties
you were always busy with missions, he was always busy with missions
you both would savor any moment you had together
so when you lay in your bed, tossing and turning, unable to fall asleep, shikamaru is the first thing to cross your mind
just in your pj’s, you set off to konoha without a single pair of eyes spotting you
when you knock on the door, his eyes shoot open and he’s trying to think of who it could be this late. you are the first person to come to mind, as he sluggishly climbs out of bed and walks to the door
and he was right
expect a lot of harmless teasing on his part
teasing like “aww, you couldn’t even sleep without me? how adorable”
he lays down first, opening his arms for you to climb into
as you snuggle into him, he wraps his arms lazily around you and tries to go back to sleep
you try to talk for a little bit and he’s not having it
will definitely ignore you all together before saying “go to sleep ( y/n )”
if you pout a little, he will give you a kiss goodnight <3

Humans were exhausting.
Living for entire eternities, seeing the birth of all stars and the demise of all empires, the gods agreed that, among so many creatures and souls that roamed through vast space, the human being was, in fact, the most tiresome: happiness was a foreign term to them, as they preferred to live comfortably in their own chosen miseries and difficulties; complaints hung from their lips like the juice of the ripest fruit in the hottest summer; the impossibility of satisfying so many prayers and requests driving the gods mad for so long that the deities' vacations were extended over long periods, leading to more complaints, more sorrows, more miseries, more requests, more prayers, more noise.
And it was so much noise that human beings created –they were never satisfied with anything. They only served to tire, to exhaust the gods.
As such, measures were taken.
The most common requests, prayers and desires that floated the most through the universe were, for some reason, the search for true love. Perhaps because they are constantly surrounded by the negativity brought by their melancholy hearts, human beings realized that there was an extreme need for comfort that they refused to themselves; an affection, a delicacy, a promise that, regardless of the passage of time, would alleviate difficulties, miseries, sadness and complaints. Maybe they just wanted certainty for all the suffering they were immersed in: one person, one love, one life.
Therefore, a new system of soulmates was created.
The gods were the only ones who could see people's nature, the only ones who could guide the same souls to one last meeting in that life, before leaving for the next one; as such, it was pretty easy to figure out which stardust went together and when they should be together –after all, it all comes down to timing. For though two souls roamed the same world, the same life, for years, they could only come together at the right moment, or misfortunes followed the souls, like plagues clinging to the weakest of creatures.
Thus, the number system was conceived by the gods two eternities ago.
However, Itachi didn't care much about soulmates or relationships in general. With so many events taking place around him, it was a little tricky for Itachi to take the time to look for meaning in the random numbers in his hand; not that he paid much attention to his numbers, their appearance piqued any interest in him.
Itachi only had one thing in mind, and he wasn't going to be distracted by such trifles as eternal love dictated by the gods –not least because none of that would make sense, not when Itachi's destiny was already mapped out for himself.
For, Itachi learned to change his way of thinking with you.
Although your presence in Itachi's life was short, just two years of brief encounters wrapped in long silences that briefly soothed your souls, the reality is that, in a way, you managed to help Itachi change his mind. Small words, speeches coming from your heart when the stars were more hidden, poems being recited by your lips, plans and ideas written by the gods gaining colossal dimension when proclaimed by you.
In reality, Itachi believed that it was the gods themselves who created you. There was a certain mystique in your soul, a deep sea of magic and stardust that gently danced through your veins, creating worlds and fantasies in your words. You looked ethereal, totally out of that world, almost perfectly sculpted by the hands of the most talented craftsmen, not just in your figure, in the imperfections that became so enchanting when embellished by the moon, but also in your mind.
“Do you think we are soulmates?”
You had Itachi's hand in yours, the number one thousand seven hundred and ninety-three repeating itself in your hand. The same number. The same location. The same apparition. The same soulmate.
“Do you want to be my soul mate?”
Itachi didn't remove his hand from yours, the heat of your body softening a little the cold that was felt that late afternoon, your touch, even so gentle, managing to comfort him for brief moments in that painful day.
You didn't answer.
Your hand returned to rest in your lap with the grace of that day's wind, Itachi's hand resting momentarily in the icy air that surrounded you. You were silent for a moment, admiring the forest that surrounded you, enjoying that moment of serenity for a little while longer. Finally, a little peace in the middle of your chaotic life.
Itachi wasn't too bothered by your lack of response; having been your friend for two years, Itachi began to get used to your small gestures and mannerisms –all your actions were already part of Itachi's daily life without any resentment being stored in his heart. Itachi knew that, if you didn't answer, you who so loved to give your opinion and unique point of view, it was because you had a reason; as such, he knew he shouldn't pressure you –instead, Itachi preferred the unknown of the forest, trying to see in its shadows something alive, trying to understand if in the midst of all that immensity of trees and bushes, there was something that would allow him to call that woods home.
“What do you think it means?”
Itachi couldn't decipher your words that day. You were different. Your voice was more distant, your timbre somewhat similar to that wind so cold, so rough. For some reason, your warm and welcoming nature had faded that day, cold gray tones painting your soul, leaving Itachi worried, yes, but also curious. It was the first time he saw you without your characteristic light. It was intriguing. You were intriguing.
“The numbers?” you looked at Itachi and nodded, your throat too raw from the outside to manage a single word. “The days it took to fall in love with each other?”
You shook your head.
You knew it wasn't something as simple, as delineated as that. The gods were tired of humans, fed up with their empty words and corrupt actions. It was obvious that they were going to be dishonest, creating numbers for the most insignificant things that could exist.
“My parents had the number two. The number of bowls of soup my mom was going to eat on their first date,” you took a deep breath and let your head rest on Itachi's shoulder. “Do you really think it would be something that simple?”
This time, it was Itachi who didn't respond.
You were right. There was no simplicity when it came to the gods, much less when the paths of love and passion were present. He didn't know why you guys got that number, or why it was such a big number, but it didn't matter to Itachi. Relationships weren't in his plans.
“Do you think we will be happy?”
Your question caught Itachi off guard, your apprehension tangling in the turf that held you so carefully, your fear lingering between you as if enveloping you in a small cloud of discomfort, worry, uncertainty. Your voice sounded low, slurred, almost corrupting the beauty of nature, as if wanting to change reality –you wanted to erase that number from your hands, from your lives.
But Itachi was left pondering your question, ignoring the intonation with which it was used, pondering with all his head and mind on that simple question.
Would you be happy?
ੈ♡˳─────────────────────
It was a full moon night when the river was dyed red.
In the middle of the forest, hidden among the thickest trees and protected by the most poisonous bushes, your clan's screams of agony and rage settled in the withered flowers of late summer. One after another, you saw those with whom you shared the same blood fall before you, defeated by your talent, victims of years of contempt and dissatisfaction.
You used to be tired. That night, you were completely exhausted.
As your footsteps echoed off the fragile walls of your parent's home, new screams were chanted towards you, intense symphonies of hate and revulsion harmonizing with the sound of your blade in their bodies.
Too much time had passed where you allowed hundreds of people to use and abuse their power, flooding your heart with the anguish and disgust you felt for each and every one of them. Despised men who lived too long under the protection of their village superiors knew nothing of real life and all that went on outside their fortress of flowers and shrubs; but you knew.
From an early age you were used as your clan's deity, used as a weapon of war by all who needed to make someone pay, discarded when all happiness, all hope, had been usurped from you like someone who takes a life.
One?...
Two…
Three?
No.
Four.
You were sure there were four. Four dozen lives subjugated to your talent and strength of mind that night, all convinced that they could stop you, all convinced that your impure blood would be spilled that night.
But when the clouds began to cover the bright moon that night, you couldn't hide the laughter that had been stuck in your throat since that massacre began –after all, how could four dozen people be completely wrong?
Hot-faced, splattered with the sin you had just committed, not a single red drop containing a fraction of regret, you left your clan's villa accompanied by the sounds of the night.
Nothing but the running stream. Nothing but the gentle summer breeze. Nothing but peace and quiet.
Finally, peace and quiet.
You let yourself be guided by the adrenaline that was still running through your body, wandering without any conscience through your clan's forest, through your forest. The sounds of the night were mesmerizing, cradling your weary footprints, moving with the stagger of your exhausted body; the aroma of your massacre was camouflaged by the sweet and refreshing scent of the bushes that served as a border with the real world.
And, even before another red drop fell into your hands, you crossed that invisible barrier with the lightest heart and the heaviest soul.
You couldn't tell exactly how much time had passed. In a way, everything had plunged into a paralyzing sea of suspense and calm, a confused mix of emotions toppling your fragile heart. Yes, it was true that you didn't feel the least bit sorry for your actions, after all, all your family members had died for you from the moment they used a five-year-old you to manage to win an insignificant battle between clans; but, for some reason, you couldn't help feeling a certain bitterness in your mouth, an immense weight that you felt only in your soul, pulling you down, trapping your steps, forcing you to collapse in the middle of a field of grass and moonlight.
Your knees hit the uneven ground hard, the tenderness of the grass refusing to support your collapse –anyway, you had to pay for your sins, the grass refusing your comfort would only just be the beginning.
“Another mission?”
Itachi.
It was Itachi's voice.
You were sure it was his voice.
You looked around, lost in that open space that was the scene of your encounters with Itachi so many times; but you saw nothing in the midst of the blood that covered your face, your eyes starting to burn –perhaps because of the drop that had fallen into them, perhaps because of the realization that you were now alone. Without family. Without any friends. Without a home.
“I don't know how to comfort you.”
Itachi's voice continued to echo in the open, carried by the wind and by the moon; words of comfort were woven by Itachi's lips in a sympathetic memory in you, your heart desperately looking for something that would ease all that turmoil that existed inside you.
And it was Itachi who heard your inner prayers.
Among so many destructive memories that formed tragic galleries inside you, there was always an exhibition dedicated to the happiness and comfort you found with Itachi. All gestures made by him, all conversations and ideas exchanged with him, all small seconds were trapped in a wide corridor inside you, overshadowing all the agonizing pictures offered by your family.
Itachi was a small happiness inside you, a small hope, a small life you were looking forward to living.
“And before you ask, no. The nightmares never go away.”
That’s right.
Now you understand where Itachi's voice came from.
It wasn't on your side or on top of you. It wasn't hiding among the branches of the nearest trees, or admiring the beautiful sky that night. None of that. That voice of Itachi was inside you. Emerging from the corridor you specially guard for him. It was a forced memory. It was a hazy memory. But it was a real memory, a memory that broke your fall when all your strength gave up.
Fallen on the grass, staining nature's hope of one day being as beautiful as the gods, you no longer struggled against your tiredness.
“But I will always be here. And you know that I understand you. Always."
Always.
Your lips formed a faint smile as your eyes became too heavy to keep them open, closing them slowly,, carefully,,, serenely…
Always.
Seeing the grass of that meadow swaying in the wind, Itachi's words stopped resonating inside your heart, wandering through the forest in the hope of being able to comfort another soul that needed the warmth that only Itachi could give, that only Itachi could give you.
Always.
Al…yas…

Human were dark.
Existing since the creation of the universe, never in the existence of the gods was heard of an event as impure and grotesque as the night of the full moon at the end of your summer. Rumors spread about the events of that night, theories of how a new cult was emerging in that world of peace, making the younger ones shudder; no one knew who told the first lie, the second rumor sounding so natural to all the bakers that, by the time the teachers and nurses found out about the event, the moon was already wearing a new autumn outfit.
It was all macabre; all the details involving the two occurrences seemed taken from the darkest book of the god of war. It was all disgusting; the amount of screams that still echoed through the floors of the houses, all the red of lives lost staining every nook and cranny of the most respected neighborhoods.
“How long has it been?”
Your hands caressed the dry autumn grass. The icy night wind ruined all the hopes of the trees, abruptly uprooting all their beauty, creating colorful walkways in that dry and forgotten meadow.
Itachi was at your side, admiring the thick clouds of ancient anguishes, searching in all that darkness for a little light that would be more persistent than the great and forgotten moon.
“Not long enough.”
The sigh of Itachi's words was trapped in the bare branches of the trees, preventing your meeting from being shown to others, giving you a little privacy in that world so noisy, so busy, so changed.
You pulled your legs towards you and sought comfort in them. Your arms wrapped around the fabric of your pants, your face being partially sheltered from the wind by your legs, your tired, heavy, empty gaze, staring at nothing more than the nothingness that stretched before you.
“Will they ever stop?” Itachi looked at you, your eyes red with the sadness of a macabre past embellished by a moon full of red and anguish. “The nightmares. Will they ever stop?”
“No.”
It was what you liked most about Itachi: his honesty; but that night, so many years after your outbreak, so many years after that bloodbath, that honesty of Itachi hurt you. Not because of its sincerity, but because of its truthfulness.
You would always have those nightmares.
“Do you regretted it?” You looked at Itachi, his eyes curious with your answer, trying to decipher what was in your soul to, at least, try to appease your heart. “Of what you did that night. Do you regretted it?”
“No.”
It was what Itachi liked most about you: your conviction; but that night, so many years after your last meeting, so many years after that promise broken by Itachi, that conviction of yours was suspect. Not because of your honesty, but because of your anguish.
“You didn’t come when I called you.”
“Couldn't make it.”
Itachi was always honest, always using his quiet, low words to convey worlds of truth. He was always honest with you, a quality he came to find helpful in creating a friendship with you.
As such, you just uttered a small “Ah” that was carried by the wind to unknown lands, taking your doubt to places already forgotten by you.
A new silence settled between you, your eyes reminding your hearts of how the other was –so many years had passed and Itachi was still the same; more tired maybe, and a little lonelier too, and utterly broken inside.
You didn't know from him. Somehow, perhaps through a delay in the chronology of the stars, or misled by the wickedness of the gods, you did not hear it from him. You just heard it on the street, small rumors floating through all the streets and alleys where you took refuge from the injustice of your village.
“Is it true?”
“Yes.”
Itachi's confirmation sounded strange in his mouth and refused to settle in your ears, in your heart. He, who loved his family so much, he who bragged so much about his relatives, he who lived with an exemplary family, used the same brush as you and painted his own walls red; but Itachi's red, that which covered the Uchiha's neighborhood, was not the red of betrayal and injustice that you wore –no. The red he'd chosen was one of surprise and despair –not his, but everyone else's.
“Why?”
“Was necessary.”
You nodded and, almost fearfully, reached for Itachi's cool hand. Would he refuse you? Would he let your immoral pasts allow it to come together in a gesture so casual, so normal, so ordinary between you? Was the blood on your hands dry, now that you had finally met again after long years without farewell or warning? Was the blood on your hands already clean of all evil, now that the two of you were once again close to each other?
“One thousand seven hundred and ninety-three.”
Itachi let your icy fingers remember the softness of his hand, your fingers ever so lightly caressing the lines of Itachi's palm, creating little paths of nostalgia and innocence in his hand.
The life line: short, a little tenuous and with only one major interruption.
“One thousand…”
The mind line: curved, quite bumpy, with some flaws.
“Seven hundred…”
The heart line: lightly painted on his hand, shorter than you'd like to admit, but flawless.
“And ninety…”
The fate line: invisible, already a victim of time and consequences that followed Itachi's actions.
“Three…”
Itachi had his eyes closed, letting the caresses you made on the lines of his palm, together with your delicate memory of the number he had seen too many times, lull him into a land of never forgotten reminiscences shared with you.
The silence was cozy as you let your palm know Itachi's magical lines, his fingers closing over your hand, starting a timeless knot that was ready to last for eternities.
And you also closed your fingers, the wind stopping the suddenness of your actions, too nauseated by your union between misfortunes, wanting to leave you in peace, quiet amidst the static weather of that night, in the meadow that had always been yours.

Ruin the Friendship
Tumblr media Tumblr media
⋇✦ Pairing: Naruto Uzumaki x Reader
⋇✦ Genre: angst; fluff; oneshot
⋇✦ CW: none
⋇✦ Length: 2.5k+
⋇✦ @gaarasandpit just a angst/fluff naruto x reader request if you’re up for it 🥰 maybe where the reader and him are somewhat close friends and he notices she’s drifting from him because her feelings get in the way? he’s oblivious and hurt about it then confrontation happens ending up in a good old love confession
Tumblr media
“Cmon! Open up!” Naruto called from outside your house, pounding on the door like he had been incessantly for the past five minutes. “I know you’re in there!”
He did not, in fact, know whether or not you were in there, but he couldn’t imagine where else you would be.
All week you’d been missing; Naruto couldn’t find you anywhere. Sometimes he would see the flick of your hair from the corner of his eye or his ears would pick up the sound of your laugh, but by the time he turned to find you, you’d be gone.
Your absence in Naruto’s life wasn’t something of a minor inconvenience; it was a constant pain, as if he was missing a part of his own body. Iruka had joked that Naruto missing you was akin to that of a phantom limb, like there was something of him that should be there and it wasn’t and he ached because of it.
“No, Naruto. We haven’t seen her,” Shikamaru shrugged. Ino nodded her agreement.
“Sorry. Maybe she’s on a mission or something.
Naruto frowned, sighing in frustration. “Alright, well, thanks.” He muttered before he sulked off. Shikamaru and Ino watched him go, waiting until he disappeared before Ino gave you a kick under the table.
“Ow!” you whined as you crawled out from underneath, rubbing your shoulder.
Ino rolled her eyes at you. “You’re lucky Naruto’s an idiot, or he definitely would have seen you.” She told you as you slid yourself down into the seat next to her. “Remind me: why are you avoiding him again?”
Propping your elbows on the table, you rested your head in your hands as you gave a forlorn sigh. That was a loaded question. You were avoiding Naruto because the absolute worse thing that could ever occur had happened.
You’d fallen in love with the idiot blond.
And how could you not? You’d been best friends with Naruto for the longest time. He was a constant in your life, always at your side. It was rare that one of you was seen without the other.
There was no one in the entire world that could make you smile or laugh the way that he could. Whenever you were sad or hurt, he always had the words to make it all better. Naruto had the type of smile that could save people, and you were no exception. There wasn’t a person in the world that could meet someone with a heart like Naruto’s and not walk away changed.
It had been a slow thing, a soft, unsure growing. It wasn’t a feeling you’d recognized at all once, because you always loved Naruto.
It wasn’t totally strange for you to get excited when you saw him or miss him when he was gone. It wasn’t unusual to think about him before you went to sleep.
But when you began to wake up and your first thought was, “my god he’s beautiful” when you looked at the picture of the two of you on your night stand, that was a little strange. You never used to spend extra time in the morning doing your makeup when you knew you were going to see him soon.
And you never used to blush when he smiled at you. Even you could tell you laughed a little too hard when he said something even remotely funny.
It was one day when the two of you were taking a walk that it happened. He was telling you a story, his motions large and exaggerated. Of course, he wasn’t paying attention to where he was going. As he turned to you, arms raised high over his head, his foot hit a rock. Naruto went sprawling to the floor, rolling across the ground and landing flat on his back.
You burst out laughing at the scene, hurrying to kneel at his side. “Are you okay!?” You asked him between giggles.
Naruto’s face was bright red with embarrassment as he laid on the floor. He looked up at you, smiling sheepishly. “Oops…”
It was such a simple thing, but you’d looked at Naruto and thought, “I love him so much.”
Nothing had ever startled you more.
Of course you loved Naruto; that was a given. It was never anything that needed to be thought or said. It was just a fact. But as soon as you had thought the words, you knew that it was different this time. You didn’t just love Naruto.
You were in love with him.
You’d hoped that the feelings would fade. Maybe it was just a fluke or a passing crush. Day in and day out, you waited for your feelings to go back to normal, but now that you’d acknowledged them, they only seemed to grow stronger. It got to the point where you couldn’t even look at naruto without turning into a blushing mess. It was pathetic.
So you’d decided there was only one reasonable solution: you would have to avoid him for as long as it took for the feelings to go away.
And of course you didn’t want to stay away from him. Being with him was as natural as breathing. But the way you saw it, if he found out about your feelings, your friendship could be ruined forever. This way, you could take some space, move on, and resume your friendship like nothing happened.
But Naruto wasn’t making that easy.
You hadn’t realized just how much time you and Naruto spent together until you were trying to distance yourself from him. He was everywhere. Every meal, every free moment, he was by your side or trying to be at least.
“Wanna go eat?” “Wanna go train with me?” “Let’s watch a movie!” “I heard there’s gonna be a festival in the next town over!”
You couldn’t get away from him. So this past week, you’d taken to hiding from him every time you saw him, deciding it was easiest to just avoid him completely. In all honesty, you couldn’t believe just how much time and effort Naruto was putting in to trying to find you.
But of course he was putting in effort. Because you were his best friend and he couldn’t understand it; where you’d gone or why you weren’t talking to him. Had he done something wrong? Were you mad at him or something? Your absence in Naruto’s life was drawing out every insecurity he hadn’t even realized he still had. He was worried, drowning in anxiety.
What if you’d decided you didn’t want to be his friend anymore? Maybe you were annoyed with him, found him to be too much. When you and Naruto had first become friends, he thought it was too good to be true. There was no way that someone as nice and pretty and cool as you would want to be friends with him. No one had ever wanted to be his friend before.
But there you were with your sweet smile and calming presence. You had accepted Naruto, every piece of him, without question or reservation. You meant everything to him, so the thought of losing you had sent Naruto into a panic.
You’d managed to avoid Naruto for a full week and a half. The past three days, as far as you knew, he hadn’t even made an effort to find you. It was a relief and heartbreaking all at once. You needed your space, but it hurt to think that maybe Naruto didn’t miss you at all anymore.
These were the thoughts racing through your head when you crawled into bed that night. You doubted you’d be getting much sleep; you’d barely gotten any since you had started avoiding Naruto.
Pulling the covers over yourself, you closed your eyes and tried to get comfortable. It seemed like hours you laid there awake before tiredness finally started to drift over you. You could feel yourself slowly dozing off to sleep when a sudden loud noise startled you awake. Sitting up quickly, your eyes darted to the window where the noise had come from.
Naruto had forcefully pried open the window, shoving himself not-so-gracefully through the opening and crashing onto the floor.
He quickly jumped to his feet, rubbing his head with a small wince before his eyes landed on you, widening slightly.
“Ah ha! I got you!” He shouted victoriously, pointing his finger in your direction. “You can’t hide from me anymore, believe it!”
God, he was too cute for words and that was exactly the problem. Your heart practically burst just looking at him as he appeared so accomplished and excited.
But the triumphant look on his face slowly vanished as he stared at you. When he spoke, his voice came out quietly, dripping with dejection. “Where have you been?”
Quietness settled over the room as the two of you stared at each other. Naruto made no move to get closer to you, and you likewise stayed strapped in your seat. “I’m sorry…” You offered weakly, unsure of what else to say.
“Don’t be sorry!” Naruto snapped, anger quickly replacing his despaired features. “Tell me why! What the hell? You think you can just avoid a guy? Cut me off like I’m nothing to you!?” He was trembling, his usual happy grin twisted into a broken grimace so despondent it took you off guard. You had caused that hurt that Naruto was feeling. The thought made you sick.
“If you don’t want to be my friend anymore, at least say something!” Naruto spat. “Don’t just run from me like a coward! If you have something to say, say it to my face!”
There was a harsh edge to Naruto’s voice that he never used with you before. Not in all of your years of friendship. You realized suddenly just how badly you’d hurt Naruto by avoiding him. It wasn’t something you’d considered; you’d only wanted some space so you could get back to normal with him.
But you saw it clearly now, the damage that you had done. Suddenly, in this moment, he was the lonely, isolated child that he had been before you met, feeling alone and abandoned in the world. And this time, it was because of you.
The regret was like bile on your tongue, and you wished fiercely that you could take back the past week and do it differently. You couldn’t stand the thought that it was you who had caused this damage to your best friend, the guy you loved so much.
You didn’t have any words to fix it. All you had was the truth.
“I love you.”
The words slipped from your mouth before you could pull them back in. And once they were out, they couldn’t be taken back.
Confusion quickly settled on Naruto’s face. It was as if you could see the anger dissipate from his body. He stared at you, mouth slightly agape, while he tried to process what you’d just said. “You… What?”
Turning bright red, you pulled the blanket back over your head in embarrassment. You couldn’t believe you’d just said that! Now there would never be any going back to the way that things were, but you had to tell him. You couldn’t just let him think that you were cutting him off without reason.
“I said I love you…” You muttered from under the blanket. “I’m in love with you, Naruto. I have been for a while now, and I didn’t want to ruin our friendship. So I thought if I just took some space and didn’t see you for a while, then maybe I would get over it, and then we could just keep things the way they were…”
It was much easier to get the words out when you were under the blanket and couldn’t see him, but you were still nauseous with anxiety as you told him how you felt. Your heart was steeling itself for rejection as you waited for his response.
The only noise was shuffling as Naruto came to your bed. You could feel the indent as he sat down next to you. He grabbed your blanket, slowly peeling it off of you and despite your reluctance, you let him.
You didn’t look at him as you pushed yourself back up into a sitting position. You’d never been so embarrassed before.
“Did it work?” He asked you quietly.
Fidgeting with the hem of your night shirt, you mumbled, “Did what work?”
“Are you over me?”
The question took you off guard, lingering between the two of you, and you couldn’t help but flicker your eyes to his. He was staring earnestly at you with those wide blue eyes you loved so much. You wanted to lie to him but you just couldn’t.
“No.”
Naruto’s focused expression stretched into a wide grin as he wrapped his arms around you, hugging you to him. You were too startled to respond, so you just stared at him, confused, instead.
“You scared me!” Naruto laughed happily as he rested his cheek against your head. “I thought you didn’t want to be my friend anymore! You didn’t have to completely avoid me, ya know.”
There was a mix of relief and disappointment at his reaction. So, he wasn’t weirded out about your confession? Things didn’t have to change. The two of you could stay ‘just friends.’
“So, we’re okay?” You asked him nervously. “We’re still friends?”
Naruto gave a puzzled hum as he pulled away from the hug to stare at you. He raised his eyebrow as he studied you for a moment. You could almost see the light bulb go off above his head as he realized.
“Oh!” He laughed, grinning sheepishly and rubbing his neck. “I guess I forgot to tell you it back, huh? I thought it was obvious! I love you too, believe it!”
You blinked as he giggled embarrassedly, that signature smile of his on his lips. “Naruto!” You snapped at him, lunging and knocking you both off the bed. He landed on his back with you on top of him as you rubbed your fist into his head. “You dummy!”
“Hey! Cut it out!” Naruto whined, squirming under your touch. “Is that any way to treat your boyfriend!?”
The question was enough to make you stop, your mouth frozen in a surprised “o” shape, just like he hoped. He laughed, sitting up and holding you to him before he placed a happy kiss to your cheek, making your face flush over red.
You placed your hands on his shoulders, looking at him as it finally sunk in what he said. He loved you too. He called himself your boyfriend. “Is that your way of asking me?” You questioned.
Naruto nodded earnestly. “And my way to get you to stop giving me a noogie! It’s a win win! Well, if you say yes, that is…”
Shaking your head, you laughed as your whole body softened in relief. Your arms slipped around his neck as you hugged him tightly. “Yes, obviously!” You told him. “Yes! I love you.” Naruto hugged you back just as fiercely. When he finally pulled away, he didn’t hesitate. His hand reached up to cup your cheek as he leaned forward, pressing a sweet, soft kiss to your lips.
Well, you guessed your friendship was officially ruined. But suddenly, you didn’t mind so much.

I have been reading your blog for the past few days and I absolutely love it! Is it okay if I request Modern S/o from a Modern World with Yandere! Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, since we have already have Hashirama and the other 2 with Mordern S/o, also take your time!
So many modern reader😂. I didn’t try to get too much into detail with how they would share a darling since I got a request about that as well.
Tw: Yandere themes, unhealthy mindset, unhealthy relationship, delusional thoughts, possessiveness, obsessiveness, vicious behavior, violence, kidnapping
modern s/o
Tumblr media
🍜💙🌸Due to Sasuke needing a lot of time when falling for someone, you most likely appeared during the Team 7 days, when all three of them were still genin. They most likely discovered you together with Kakashi one day on a mission, finding a young you all by yourself and looking obviously flabbergasted and shocked when being found by them.
🍜💙🌸And they of course helped you, realizing that you were lost and their Sensei offering you to lead you home if you would tell them where you lived. You on the other hand just stared back and forth between him, Naruto, Sakura and Sasuke before muttering something from if you were dreaming, pinching yourself to make sure you weren’t dreaming and that this was reality. After painfully discovering that this was indeed real you wanted to be 100% sure, asking if they were Kakashi Hatake, Sakura Haruno, Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha.
🍜💙🌸Whilst you might have known Kakashi as the famous copy cat, they were all surprised when you knew the names of his pupils. You were pretty far away from their village, making the possibility that you knew them from there very little. It led to Kakashi suddenly getting a weird feeling, his intuition telling him that something wasn’t right here. So he asked you once again from where you were, leading to you explaining yourself. And knowing that they would most likely not believe you without proof, you also used your phone, showing them that you weren’t lying.
🍜💙🌸You were like this brought with them together to the Village, Kakashi deciding that you wouldn’t be safe all out there on your own and if someone would find out about you, you could become very dangerous for them. And just like that you were introduced to the Third Hokage who you showed your proof as well, amusing him greatly that in his old life he was still able to witness something like this. A dimension traveler, how utterly fascinating.
🍜💙🌸But he understood why Kakashi had brought you with him. You had explained after all that in your world their whole story was all written down as a “Manga” and could also be watched as an “Anime”. In short, you knew what would happen in the next few years, knowing what abilities someone would possess in the future and what secrets there were. It made you very valuable and if people like Orochimaru would find out about you, you were doomed. And they would be as well if Orochimaru would find a way to press everything you could possibly offer out of him.
🍜💙🌸So you were most likely given a apartment, most likely near Naruto, and were given permission to live in the village. It was also decided that Kakashi should teach you a bit how to fight, also finding out whether you possessed chakra or not. This was made a secret between you, the Third Hokage and Team 7, all promising to not tell anyone.
🍜💙🌸It should come to no one’s surprise that Team 7 naturally grew closer to you overtime since they had found you and were one of the very few who knew about this secret. So they became quickly your best friends.
🍜And Naruto was the first one who developed some more unhealthy feelings for you, openly displaying his big crush on you and making it obvious for everyone that he liked you. For the reason that you never seemed to make fun of him and always cheered him on, not thinking of him as a monster like many others or just an annoying little brat. Much more on the contrary, you always told him that he would be very strong one day. And you had to know it the best. Since you two lived directly next to each other, sleepovers and just spending every evening time together became somewhat a normality to you two, allowing Naruto to grow closer to you. His obsessive tendencies grew stronger due to the fact that you were from another world and he often begged you to tell him more about your world, listening in awe whenever you did tell him.
💙Surprised by who became Yandere next? I’ll explain later on to why not Sakura. Let’s face it, Sasuke was most likely annoyed when first finding you which might have changed quite a bit after finding out who exactly you were. He knew that you weren’t allowed to talk about it, but it did happen quite a few times that he asked you direct questions about his future and you just told him that he would later on become one of the most powerful shinobi which led to Sasuke hanging out more around you, hoping to squeeze something more out of you. What powers exactly would he gain? Would he meet his brother? How could he reach that point of being one of the strongest ninja to exist? Sasuke would keep it more subtle with his feelings even though his possessiveness was most likely triggered due to knowing that Naruto liked you as well, leading often to snarky comments from him when Naruto was all over you.
🌸Sakura was at first just your best friend for a rather simple reason. At that time she still had a crush on Sasuke and also saw that Naruto liked you a lot. And she cared for Naruto a lot, leading to her being glad that he had finally someone who seemed to understand and support him and she became a huge Naruto x (y/n) shipper. Sasuke is a lot more subtle with his signs that he likes you, but Sakura is very observant when it comes to those she’s close and will notice the way Sasuke keeps looking jealous and annoyed whenever Naruto tugs you away or tries to show off in front of you or the way he seems to tolerate you more than others. Even the way he displays a bit more softness with you which will lead her to feel a bit more conflicted, realizing that you are stuck in a love triangle. But different than with Ino she won’t suddenly start disliking you since she also sees that you keep pushing Sasuke away, most likely because you know that Sakura likes him and take that into reconsideration. You also support her just like Naruto all the time, knowing that she’ll later on become one of the strongest kunoichi to exist.
💙🌸After Tsunade was made the next Hokage, she and Tsunade were informed about your secret as well in order to be able to keep in mind that you were somewhat of a special case.
🍜💙When Sasuke left the Leaf Village he might or might not have tried to take you with him, but since I need you here so Sakura can form her obsession, he failed. Even if he would have managed to take you out of the village, we all know that the with Naruto robbed him temporarily all his power, giving you the chance to free yourself and run. The fight between those two would be in general a lot more vicious than it would have been without you. Sasuke had pent-up frustration inside of him due to the fact that Naruto had gotten so strong, him fearing that Naruto might be one day able to beat him. Not only that, but Naruto also liked you a lot, more than a lot and this poured only even more gasoline in his fire since Sasuke had only you left. And now that blonde idiot was starting to become stronger and the strongest wins always in the end. He despised the thought that he could lose to Naruto. And our sunshine boy was mad as well that Sasuke had dared to kidnap you.
💙And so there is a chance that due to Sasuke’s betrayal another person found out, Orochimaru. He most likely sensed during the Chunin Exams that something about you was different. You didn’t participate or anything, but he kept an eye on you because Sasuke was really close to you and what better way to get his hands on Sasuke than blackmailing him and manipulating him with the one he loves dearly? I can even see him as someone who lit the hatred for Naruto inside of him when he noticed Sasuke’s growing jealousy. Would he seriously let such a weakling like Naruto get his darling? And with Orochimaru finding out this situation will become a bit twisted since Orochimaru will form an obsession with you as well for pure egotistical reasons. He wants to know all the secret and just now a mystery bigger than everything else he witnessed in his life so far was offered to him. So he would be all up for kidnapping you as soon as the chance is there.
🍜If we go with the theory that Sasuke did manage to kidnap you, but you were saved, Naruto would afterwards be so incredibly apologetic and feel guilty for not coming to rescue you sooner, adding even more pressure and misery onto him next to the fact that he already didn’t manage to save Sasuke. But he was also incredibly glad that you were now back, due to the shock most likely clinging terribly onto you afterwards and not leaving you alone until he left with Jiraiya, giving you into Sakura’s care for the time being.
🌸Do you remember my Naruto and Sakura sharing a darling post? It would be exactly the same to that. Sakura spent the next few years training with Tsunade and also dedicating a lot of her time with you. And it was during these years that she started developing feelings for you. The betrayal of Sasuke hurt her a lot and she also felt terrible for what you had to endure due to Sasuke’s selfish act, you were her best friend after all. You could say that after this she finally opened her eyes a bit, realizing that Sasuke wasn’t the perfect man she had always pictured in her head. It was somewhat of a wake-up call, and suddenly she realized how kind you had been to her all this time, making her feel appreciated, a feeling she hadn’t experienced so far that often. She grew very close to you and when realizing her feelings she was totally embarrassed as well as ashamed since everyone knew about you and Naruto. You were unofficially together at this point. It gave her a lot of mood swings since at one day she was on cloud nine and the next felt like hiding in a hole out of shame.
🍜🌸When Naruto came back, Sakura most likely told him about her feelings, a big sign of how close her bond with him was. And whilst Naruto was at first a bit conflicted about this, he and Sakura came eventually to the terms of sharing.
💙Sasuke on the other hand trained in order to kill his brother and get rid of Naruto with the ultimate end goal of finally getting you back in his clutches. He had started feeling incredibly lonely without you, the emptiness inside of him really getting to him. If we do go with the scenario where Orochimaru ended up finding the truth out about you, he would want to meet you as well. Not only are you interesting for him because you’re the person Sasuke’s in love with, but you’re also a dimension traveler. He does try to ask Sasuke a bit out about you, but whenever Sasuke shoots him this glare it’s obvious to him that he won’t talk. If Sasuke does manage to kidnap you, he wouldn’t let Orochimaru touch you without losing it. He knows how Orochimaru ticks and is just disgusted by this. Would be really pissed off the moment he finds out that Sakura is now in love with you too. He used to be annoyed by her because she was in love with him, now he’s mad that she loves you and shares with Naruto.
🍜💙🌸Sharing a darling is not necessarily easy for Sasuke as long as he isn’t really close to that person or it isn’t his brother. All free of them most likely started sharing after the war was over and Sasuke was forgiven his crimes. It would settle for quite the turbulent relationship because Naruto and Sasuke would constantly get into fights and it’ll be yours and Sakura’s job to separate them. More to that when I start the sharing a darling post. I don’t want to only repeat myself.
🍜💙🌸All three of them wouldn’t travel with you back to your world if there should be a chance. I do think that Naruto and Sakura would display a certain degree of curiosity in it whilst Sasuke would be more annoyed about it. But all of them would still stay in their world since all of them are dedicated to something in their world. That also means all of them will stop you if you should try to escape them by fleeing back into your world.

You asked for it :> So may I request the rest of BSD playing Genshin? 😘🥰
Darling, since I can't write that many characters in one go, I thought I should give you something special. I present... 💫 women 💫
Women of BSD as Genshin Impact players
tw: you're in bsd fandom, you know all the tw there are by now
Kyouka Izumi- Assasin in the streets, babysitter in the... Genshin Impact
Kyouka is that cute, stubborn kid that overfixates on things. Atsushi is things. Look, we all know Kyo-chan is mad intelligent and talented and it shows in her game play. Right off the bat she got the sense of the gameplay of every type of character and decided what works best for her. She knows what type of team she's going for and knows how to manage her materials wisely.
When she plays alone, Kyouka works towards bettering her characters and pushing through the storyline. Her favourite way to play the game is with Atsushi, whether alone or in co-op with others. Playing with Jinko is a huge win-win situation for her - she helps him beat up whatever he needs to take down and complete puzzles, he gives her praises and gratitude. And materials, but seldom does she take them.
Her main job, though, is to protect Atsushi and his world from the otherworldly evil known as the suicidal maniac, Dazai Osamu. She's fairly successful.
Main Team: MC, Klee, Keqing, Rosaria
Sub Team: MC, Qiqi, Fischl, Hu Tao
Mains MC, both for her flexibility with elements and because she likes being the little sister to Atsushi's male MC.
Yosano Akiko- retired nurse, now a terrorist
Did you really think she'd stay a healer without having the sadistic satisfaction of hurting people in grotesque ways? Nay. She doesn't have a single healer on team. She either has a teammate who's a healer like Haruno, or she wastes abundance of food until she can teleport to a statue of the seven.
Her game play is on crack, basically. She has several energy spurs, sometimes several times a day, where she rages through the game, before losing interest and going shopping. It's very possible with her that days can pass before she feels like playing again. Then she binges the game for hours and repeat.
When i say she acts like on crack i mean it. She has rage in her veins instead of blood. She tanks her characters and goes out looking for fights with worst possible opponents. Hell, she'll under equip her party just to see how many mofos can she take down in weak state. Spoilers, a fair few. She does die quite a bit, and is almost always out of food, but she's just as stubborn as she's crazy. Those two thing correlate probably. Which is why she made Azdaha her bitch. Her party consists either of strong, hot milfs women like herself, or twinks. You won't see someone like Childe disrespecting her vibe.
Main Team: Beido, Venti, Hu Tao, Rozaria
Sub Team: Lisa, Yanfei, Ningguang, Xingqiu
Beido and Lisa main. Bad bitches only.
Naomi Tanizaki- the fangirl player
She basically collects the cutest characters possible.. That's how she chooses her characters, based on cuteness. She went for the hot ones first to pull her brother but she got jealous and changed her tactic. You know she's spending her money on character skins and certain banners. She's insanely lucky tho?? She got Qiqi on the standard banner as her first 5*, pulled Klee on her banner in little over four 10 pulles and got Diona eventually anyway. Baraba and Xiangling were free and she mained Xiangling untill Klee rolled in. She spent some money on Venti and was already in pity when Ganyu came around. She's fully ready to whale for Kokomi though.
Now i know i said she's incredibly lucky, right? Yeahh that luck has to turn against something to keep the balance and well... she's still crying over Chongyun.
She usually co-ops with her brother, it's a daily ritual. Loves co oping with everyone though, mostly Haruno, Atsushi and Kyouka. She made online friends as well. Actually, there is one person she co ops with almost as much as she does with her brother. IchiGawa is her Genshin bestie and they talk about their crushes and infatuations besides the game itself. Her friend is the only secret she keeps from her brother.
Main Team: Klee, Diona, Venti, Barbara
Sub Team: Razor, Xiangling, Xingqiu, Qiqi
A Klee main.
Haruno Kirako- the healer
Literal angel. You need her, i need her, ADA needs her, the president needs her, just... yes. Her whole team consists of support- healers and crowd control characters. She was a f2p at first, but realised she earns her own money and can spend it however she wishes and she chose the monthly cards.
She's a necessity, point blank. She can get intimidated by new foe at first, but when backed up by her friends, she becomes determined and flexible. Pays good attention to her teammates, most importantly, their health bars, and acts accordingly.
The only reason most of them made it as far as they have, being as reckless as they are.
Main Team: Albedo, Barbara, Jean, Venti
Sub Team: Qiqi, Noel, Jean, Xinyan
Mains Albedo and Barbara
Fan fact: She's very fascinated infatuated with Albedo!! He's even her home screen and has posters and key chain of him.
Gin Akutagawa- that cottagecore assassin
You may be wondering what that could even mean. Let me tell you, she brought Animal Crossing to Genshin Impact. Sure she takes care of her characters and they're pretty powerful, but she kicks ass in real life as well. The game is her little getaway, especially since Serenity pot has been introduced. She's been making away her home for her and her brother characters. You can see her chop wood, collect materials, taking pictures with her friends and her brother, sometimes of pretty scenery and cute moments. A very wholesome player.
She's the type to help her friends explore their world and help them find oculi, open chests, shrines, collect flowers, mine... She's very patient, but if she sees her co-op teammates struggle with something, she'll jump in to help do it herself untill told to back off. In which case she will listen and silently give her support, usually with the cheering stickers in the chat.
She's f2p! Sure, she could get the monthly card at least, as Ryunosuke told her, but she really wants to enjoy the game on her own terms and have what she does through her own effort and hard work. It just feels satisfying to her and more personal.
Main Team: Jean, Ayaka, Diluc, Barbara
Sub Team: Doesn't have one! She just changes characters if certain elements are needed.
Jean main!! She admirers the relationship her and Barbara have. While she's the younger of the two, she's taken the mantle of the older sibling, in a way, and is looking after her reckless as heck brother and cares for him like Jean does for Barbara. Jean is also a wonderful person in her eyes and Gin harbours great respect for the blonde.
Higuchi Ichiyo- IchiGawa 🤡
I love Higuchi so much, but my girl is a mess and a half. Help her, please. No, really, she needs help. She's been over compensating for not being dramatic and eye catching in the battlefield, and has now found a new way to prove herself to her Akutagawa-san. Problem is, as soon as she sees a potentially powerful character, she has to get them and boost them to the havens... yeahh, good thing you can't do loans in the game, otherwise she'd have sharks on her ass for having a bill as dramatic and eye catching as Tsunade's from Naruto. Our girl out there turning heads for wrong reasons. She's definitely spent her pay checks on the game "oh no no, i just buy the monthly subscription, ehe" ehe my ass, you bankrupt bitch. Baal is coming and she's looking to sell a kidney. No, it's not her own and no, it doesn't have anything to do with the game. It's a mission, for God's sake.
But hey, the game is a good investment for her! She even made a friend, one that totally understands her how she feels!! They're very alike as well, ready to do anything for the person they love. The two talk about love a lot and have bonded over it. Higuchi is actually a jealous and a protective type of person, so she hides her friend from Gin and Tachihara like snake hides it's legs. If only they knew 🤡. But it's better this way as they both have a certain sense of normalcy and familiarity they were missing in their daily lives. (Higuchi and Naomi meeting scenario when?)
Main Team: Xiao, Fischl, Xingqiu, Diluc
Sub Team: Baal (soon?), Venti, Ganyu, Zhongli
She mains Xiao because he reminds her of Akutagawa-san and yes, she uses characters from her sub team when playing with others.
Fan Fact: when she was asked why her username is IchiGawa, she said she's like a river 🤡 No, it does absolutely not stand for Ichiyo Akutagawa.
Ozaki Kouyo- the husbando and loli collector
Don't get the wrong idea when i said loli collector. She just needs to adopt them and look after them. She also enjoys watching her precious babies kick ass like her Kyouka. But that's a two way sword, because she gets angry when they die. Savage.
And yeahh, the real reason she's playing the game... Mr Zhongli. She switches often between eng and jpn audios because she can't decide which sounds sexier. Also, Mr Diluc? Yes, she would like to be served one sex on the beach please and thank you! Ah, Mr Kaeya, a perfect window of opportunity, yes.
She has a huge spot for the teenager group as well. Razor, Bennett, Fishl, Xiangling, Xingqiu and Chongyun are also her kids. She just finds them very precious (don't we all?).
Main Team: Zhongli, Kaeya, Bennett, Diluc
Sub Team: Diona, Klee, Qiqi, Sayu
A Zhongli and Diluc main.
Bonus:
Elise- the evil lackadaisical player
Mori found out about the game from Higuchi and Tachihara and introduced it to Elise, telling her she should make a team of sweet little girls like herself and have fun going on adventures around Teyvat. In response, Elise made a team that, not only does it not have a single child in it, but is using it to gaslight and bully Rintarou.
"Why aren't you smart and inventive like Albedo?"
"Why aren't you as passionate and persistent as Sucrose?"
"Look how capable, loved and admired Ningguang is. You could never."
"I wish i had someone as strong, caring, handsome and rich like Childe looking after me. He would treat me like a real princess. "
Mori has been crying rivers ever since.
Thing is, Elise isn't even that interest in the story. Actually, she couldn't care less. Some characters are interesting to her and she likes the graphics, but other than that, she's mostly playing the game to torture the greasy doctor (as she should).
Main Team: Albedo, Sucrose, Ningguang, Childe
Sub Team: doesn't have one
Doesn't have a main either, she plays whoever she feels like playing.
I wanted to add Lucy too, but my mind wasn't cooperating ;-; Sorry about that. I do hope you liked this, Eli 💛

request : Haiii could I plz request a gaara fluff where ur from the hidden leaf but best friends with konkuro and have been trying to get close to gaara for so long but moody gaara refuses to warm up and the sand also gets in the way??? I've just got to the sai arc in shippeden plz no spoilers. \ (•◡•) /
::
I literally love this so much, thank you for requesting <3 and I hope you enjoy the rest of naruto! also I got carried away with the details so hopefully this isn't boring!
gaara was naturally a closed off person, and not only when it came to talking about personal things but also because his sand would constantly raise whenever something threatening got near him. because of this he was used to using his sand when someone or something got near him, even if it wasn't something that would harm him, it was just his instinct.
unfortunately that applied to you too, especially when you were trying to suprise him and give him a hug. kind of like right now, you were blocked by the sand that he pushed up. his eyes widened, a worried expression on his face. "are you okay?"
"yeah sorry about that! I heard you were coming so I got really excited."
your words visibly suprised gaara, you were excited to see him? he felt his face flush at the thought. every single time you guys saw each other he would end up pushing you away because he was scared. he liked you so much it actually hurt sometimes.
"how was your trip? I brought some food and water just in case you guys needed some."
gaara looked away, holding his hand over his cheeks in hopes of hiding how flustered he was. even though it was boring he wanted to tell you all about it, but he couldn't. "it was fine."
kankuro had his hands behind his head, whistling as he nudged gaara hard enough for him to take a couple steps forward. gaara glanced over at kankuro, "hey be-" but once gaara looked forward and saw you only inches away from him, he was wordless.
he felt his breath hitch, this was the closest he had ever been to you. you looked into his eyes, feeling your cheeks heat up. gaara took the time to look at all your features, his eyes quickly skimming all over and before long his cheeks were almost as red as his hair. he wanted to stay like that - he really did, but his nerves got the best of him and he ended up backing away, trying to come up with an excuse. "I-I have to go see naruto."
and with that he quickly walked away, temari not too far from him. and honestly what he said before wasn't really an excuse, he wanted to talk to naruto about how he felt towards you. he knew he liked you but he had no idea what to do about it. he hoped naruto could give him some advice.
watching him walk away, you sighed. "maybe he just hates me? kankuro am I annoying?"
kankuro couldn't help but snort, nodding in the process. "yeah you're annoying as hell." you lightly punched his chest, and he couldn't help but smile. "but all jokes aside gaara seems to really like you. trust me, being his brother and all I can tell. just bare with him, he'll come around soon."
your nodded and smiled to yourself. you didn't get sad or mad because of how closed off he was, especially since he had gone through so much. but instead you really wanted to be with him and cherish him, giving him all the love that he had missed out on.
kankuro put his arm around your shoulder, "c'mon, let's go eat something. but I swear to god if you tell me the story of how you fell in love with gaara one more time I'm leaving."
you rolled your eyes but even then you couldn't help but laugh. "just for that, I'll tell you again on the way there. it all started when gaara-"
"no!"
-----
"hmm, well you really like her right? ask her on a date to get to know her better!" naruto said with a grin on his face, patting his friends back.
gaara almost spit out the ramen he was eating, looking at naruto with wide eyes. he swallowed his food so quickly because he was overwhelmed. "d-date!?"
the blonde gave him a thumbs up, "you're a catch gaara, there's no way she'll say no."
gaara had a worried look on his face, thinking about how you would probably reject him. and there was no way he could ask you on a date, he didn't even answer your questions when you talked to him. and plus, after seeing sakura say no to naruto countless times, he couldn't help but be pessimistic about it.
naruto noticed how concerned he was. "if you're not up to asking her on a date then hug her. but make sure to not just do it right off the bat because you might scare her."
gaara was mentally taking notes, already feeling nervous. a hug huh? would you even want that from him? would you push him away? he had so many questions.
"oh! isn't that her?"
it was you, you were still walking around with kankuro. gaara saw you laugh and he loved it, he wanted you to always be happy. his cheeks were a light shade of pink but before long you were out of his sight and he sighed.
naruto couldn't help but laugh, "man you have it bad, you're totally in love! talk to her, you won't get anywhere by just staring."
gaara smiled to himself, thinking about your beautiful laugh once again. "but how?"
"after you're done with your ramen you can practice with my shadow clones!"
----
it was night time now, and gaara's mind was filled with thoughts of you as he gazed up at the moon. it wasn't only how beautiful you were, but more of how you treated him. you were always so nice and gentle with him, and you had never gotten scared of him or said anything mean to him. he felt at ease when he was in your presence, despite the nervousness that also came along with it. he wanted to stay with you, aside from naruto you were the only person that actually understood him.
he wanted to talk to you but he didn't really know how, when he was alone he would always come up with the best conversation starters but when you were in front of him he'd be wordless.
"oh gaara! I've been looking for you."
his eyes widened when he heard your voice and he looked back at you. you were alone with him, he couldn't handle it.
"for me?" gaara asked, his voice sounded a bit uneasy. he was so nervous, but he wanted to talk to you so he didn't run away this time.
"yeah, mind if I stay here with you?" you asked. he shook his head, unable to take his eyes away from you. you looked so beautiful in the moonlight and he was wordless for a while, which is why you decided to initiate a conversation.
"oh did you talk to naruto? I bet he took you to get some ramen!"
he smiled at the memory despite the fact that it happened a couple hours back. "yeah, it was really good." but then he remembered what they talked about and he felt his cheeks heat up.
"you should talk to her, you won't get anywhere by just staring."
and suddenly his heart was thumping in his chest, and it was now that he had the confidence to ask what he had been wondering about for a while now. "all I ever do is push you away and ignore you. so why are you so nice to me?"
despite being suprised at his words, your eyes were as kind as ever, a sweet smile forming on your face and he couldn't help but gasp softly when he saw it. even your words were gentle. "well it's simple, I really like you gaara! and I'd like to get closer to you, but I understand that it's probably difficult for you and that's completely fine."
words couldn't express how happy he felt at the moment, he was too nervous to speak. but then he thought back to what naruto had told him. "ask her on a date to get to know her better!"
"a d-date." he mumbled, so quiet that you couldn't even hear him. and yet his cheeks were flushed a pretty pink, his eyes on the floor so he wouldn't have to look at you. you cocked your head in confusion though, "huh?"
"a date!" he said, his voice considerably louder. "we could go on one."
he was still looking away so you cupped his face with you hands to get his attention. god, he was so cute. pink cheeks and wide eyes, his mouth slightly opened and he looks confused for some reason.
"it's a date then!"

Bleach Characters Watching Naruto for the first time Headcanons:
Ichigo Kurosaki:
Tumblr media
-When he first watched Naruto he thought Naruto was annoying. -All he does is yell and talk too damn much haha. - He likes Hinata because she reminds him of orihime. -He thought Sasuke was also an asshole lol. -His favorite character is Kakashi Hatake. - He starts to think Naruto is less annoying  later on in the original Naruto and shippuden Naruto. -Thinks Sakura and Ino are also bitches. - Totally the type of guy that likes the underrated females in this anime like Ten Ten, Temari and Konan. -He low-key has the hots for Tsunade. -You can tell by the look on his face. I see you Ichigo. 😉 -His reaction to Hidan was priceless. Watching Hidan was like watching Grimmjow but if he was in a cult! -"Help us all if Grimmjow was into that Jashin shit. " -Thought Hidan losing His head was priceless and he laughed his ass off. -His favorite antagonist is Zabuza because he looked bad ass with his huge sword. -Often wonders if he could fling his zanpakuto at a tree and can stand on it like zabuza. -Has tried it a few times and was a success after the 10th time. -He did it while fighting Grimmjow once and the look on his face was priceless.  -"How in the fuck did you do that Kurosaki?! " -His favorite  characters in order are: Kakashi, Zabuza, Kisame, Hinata and Tsunade. -Overall he likes the anime. He gives it an 8 out of 10. ----- Byakuya Kuchiki:
Tumblr media
- At first he wanted NOTHING to do with watching anime but for some reason you were able to convince him to.  - Firsts things firsts, he thinks Naruto is annoying. Too loud, obnoxious and stupid. -He likes Kakashi out of all of team 7.
- Thinks sasuke and Sakura are annoying as well. - Doesn't like the anime until after the chunin exams where we are introduced to the Akatsuki. -obvi he really likes itachi. -Thinks the sharingan looks pretty cool and has  cool powers. -He has both of light novels of Itachi Uchiha on his bookshelf. -don't point it out to him,  just be quiet and be happy about it. -He has the hots for Konan and Shizune. -He once accidentally said Mangekyō Sharingan instead of Senbonzakura during a battle. 😅😥 -The enemy was confused and depending on them and if they know the anime they would call byakuya a weeb. -Never again. -His least favorite  characters are the loud mouth ones like Hidan, Deidara, Kiba, etc. -Prefers shippuden over original Naruto any day. -He is a ho for Tobirama. -He also felt bad for Obito. - He also thinks Mei is low-key hot as well. -I see you byakuya. 😏 - His favorite characters in order are: Itachi,Kakashi, Tobirama, Konan, Shizune, and Mei. -Overall, he doesn't like original Naruto so he gave it a 4 out of 10 but he liked shippuden much more. He gave it a 7 out of 10. ---- Toshiro Hitsugaya:
Tumblr media
- He refused to watch it because he doesn't have time for something so foolish but you got him to watch it anyways. - Hates all of team 7. -Thinks Naruto if obnoxious, Sakura a a bitch and Sasuke is a jerk. - Scratch that, he likes Kakashi. Just not as much as the other fans do.  - He likes haku because of their similar powers and the interesting  interpretation of it. - He thought Haku was hot until it was reveal that he was a boy. 🙊 -"Don't you DARE mention it again. " -Has the hots for Hinata and Ten Ten. - Doesn't like Tsunade because she reminds him of Rangiku. -But he low-key thinks she's hot. Ain't gonna admit it  though. -He thought orochimaru was a creepier version of mayuri. -Starts to like Ino in Shippuden and later on once she chilled. -His favorite  characters in order are: Haku, Hinata, Ten Ten,  Tobirama and Kakashi.. -His least favorite characters are the annoying loudmouth ones, and Orochimaru. -Overall he thought the anime was so so. Original Naruto gets a 5 out of 10 and shippuden gets a 6 out of 10.
--- Renji Abarai:
Tumblr media
- He was down to watch. Got nothing else to do around Urahara place anyways. 😂 -Thinks Naruto is funny but stupid. -Thinks Sasuke is a jerk. -Sakura still a bitch. -Kakashi is pretty cool too. -CLEARLY has the hots for Tsunade and Mei. - But he also likes Kushina, Konan, and Kurenai - He likes the silly funny characters like Guy, Rock Lee, Kankuro. -He thought Hidan was trip but funny as fuck, reminds him of Ikaku honestly. -He bought the Jashin necklace just for shits and giggles. -"Why is Itachi literally Byakuya but with red eyes? " -He goes on a full on rant and compare the two look wise and personality wise. -He accidentally called Byakuya Itachi once. -Since he gets the reference he wasn't AS mad. -Be lucky Renji. - favorite Antagonist his Hidan because he is funny, crazy and Overall entertaining. -He also thinks the Pains are pretty cool too. -favorite characters in order are Tsunade, Hidan,  Mei, Pains, and Guy. -Overall he really enjoyed the anime. He gave the original Naruto a 8.5 out of 10 and shippuden a 9/10. ----- -Requests are Open!

for @ninjaduelist-art - her jock AU, but with the relationship a little more established. If you haven’t seen it, this is the tag and this is the first page of the comic! I hope it does the au justice, it’s such a great one.
Requests are from this!
It was their fifth date.
    Naruto leaned back, letting out a breath and scanning Sasuke again. They’d nearly had to cancel—Sasuke had forgotten he’d promised to jam with his not-a-band-totally-is-a-band tonight, and he’d called Naruto with a quiet apology until Naruto had somehow convinced him to let him come along.
    So here he was—watching Sasuke’s fingers gently strum along the guitar.
    “Good, aren’t they?” Itachi asked, leaning over the chair beside him. Naruto threw him a smile, but didn’t let his eyes stray for too long—
    “Yeah,” he said, catching Sasuke’s eyes for a moment, “yeah, they’re real good.”
    There was a moment’s pause. Suigetsu changed up the pace and Sasuke leaned back and found the rhythm like it was nothing, his eyes flickering up to Naruto’s again—Naruto’s smile widened and Sasuke ducked his head—
    “They could easily make something of it, I think.”
    Naruto tilted his head a little.
    “Yeah,” he said, not looking away. His nails were painted black again today—his hair styled back into his usual spikes, except for the bangs he kept loose to hide his eyes all the time.
    That bastard.
    Sasuke slacked just enough to accidentally meet his gaze again, and Naruto liked to imagine his fingers tripped over a chord there. Naruto didn’t have enough of a brain to notice, though. (Especially not right now.)
    “I don’t think Sasuke really wants that, though.”
    “No,” Itachi agreed, “no, he doesn’t. Nor do the rest of them. But perhaps I could record them in secret…”
    Naruto laughed.
    “Don’t do that!” he said, finally glancing up at Itachi. Itachi raised an eyebrow back at him, but he still smiled ever so slightly. It wasn’t quite the same as Sasuke’s teasing smile, but Naruto loved catching where he got it from…
    As if on cue, he looked back—
    And caught Sasuke’s eye.
    Sasuke immediately looked away, but it was Naruto’s turn to duck his head. Did Sasuke like to look at him as much as he loved to stare at Sasuke? He couldn’t imagine he had anything on that stupid pretty boy. That…the necklace draped along his neck, and he balanced the guitar and his other ankle on the same thigh, he leaned forwards as he played and closed his eyes as his fingers moved, like he was just playing on instinct…
    “He is,” Naruto breathed out, “so talented.”
    “Funny,” Itachi said. “He said the same about you.”
    Naruto’s head jerked up. The music stopped then, though, and it made Naruto look back. He didn’t catch Sasuke’s eyes again, though—they stayed down, or covered by his bangs, or looking somewhere away as he muttered something Naruto couldn’t hear, and Karin nodded, leaning over to Suigetsu, who leaned over to Juugo…
    “Oh,” Itachi said, as the music began again, “this is familiar.”
    Sasuke’s eyes looked up, and Naruto was breathless.
    “Is it?” he whispered, as Sasuke didn’t relent—not for over a moment, not for any more than it took for him to glance down and back up—
    “Mm,” Itachi hummed, standing back up straight. “I seem to recall him playing it after a...certain soccer game.”
    Naruto’s head jerked up.
    Itachi’s smile widened, and he moved away—catching Sasuke’s eyes as he did so. Naruto looked back to see Sasuke’s mouth in a firm frown, his eyes narrowed in Itachi’s direction—
    But then they looked back at Naruto, and Naruto could have just...melted. Even if it wasn’t for him. Even if the song wasn’t for him—Itachi didn’t even know they’d been...well, they weren’t technically dating yet, but god, the way Sasuke kept looking at him had Naruto just about ready to commit to anything. He’d been just about ready to commit to anything five dates ago, to be fair. Ever since Sasuke came back into his life looking like…well, that. Leather jacket, ripped jeans—he wasn’t wearing his lip piercing today, but Naruto had spent more time than he wanted to admit staring at it when they were just friends.
    Phew.
    Naruto let out a breath, suddenly feeling...pretty warm. Real hot. Was it hot in here? Sasuke seemed pretty comfortable in his jacket, but Naruto was really, um—
    The song finished, and Sasuke sat up again—pushing some hair out of his eyes. That glance was a bit more nervous, Naruto thought, and he—
    “That was awesome!” Suigetsu said. “Fuck, that went great. Let’s call it there—hey! Big bro—you got food for us?”
    Itachi turned.
    “Ignore him,” Karin called back, “he was raised in a dirt sack. We’re going to—”
    “Oi! Let me go, I’m hungry! You—”
    “You’re irritating as fuck is what you are—”
    “This was all so peaceful a moment ago,” Itachi muttered, and Naruto quickly covered his laugh with a cough—
    “I’m afraid,” Itachi said, louder now, “that I only have enough food for myself. And my brother and his boyfriend, if they’ll be partaking.”
    The room stopped.
    Sasuke put his face in his hands.
    “Oh dear,” Itachi said, leaning closer to Naruto, “was it supposed to be a secret?”
    “I—no, I—”
    “You’re dating Sasuke?” Karin asked, looking between them— “Sasuke, is that—?”
    “None of your business?” he asked, pulling himself back up. “Yes, it is. I’ll see you next—whenever we next meet.”
    Karin flinched back, but Sasuke was already standing. And so were Juugo and Suigetsu, and so Naruto stood too—awkwardly shuffling to the side as everyone packed their things—he caught his cousin’s eye and hoped his face looked at least a little apologetic and not completely panicked—
    “I’m—going to put this away,” Sasuke said, and then he was gone, too. Naruto breathed in, glancing back at—
    “But I thought the movie turned out to be a date,” Itachi said, looking—well, this was the closest Naruto thought he’d ever come to seeing confusion on that face—
    “It—um. It was. Wait, what d’you mean ‘turned out to be’?”
    “Ah. You can...ask my brother about that. You aren’t dating?”
    “I—um. We haven’t—we haven’t really talked about it yet. I’m sorry, Itachi,” Naruto said, shuffling back again, “d’you mind if I—?”
    He gestured vaguely to the side—
    “Go ahead,” Itachi said. “Tell my brother I’m sorry.”
    “I—okay. I’ll—um—yeah,” he finished vaguely, already moving out of the room. Sasuke had gone—this way, right? He—Naruto walked past a couple doors, but he—
“Naruto.”
Naruto doubled back. Sasuke’s door was open just a little, and Naruto quickly slipped in and shut it behind him.
“Hey, I—uh—”
    “I’m sorry,” Sasuke said, looking back down, “about my brother. He’s—he cares about me. A lot. And he tends to get really involved in things, and that—”
    “Hey,” Naruto said, “hey, hey, hey, I—I don’t actually mind. Like—at all.”
    He laughed a little, and Sasuke looked up.
    “No pressure, okay?” Naruto said. “I just—um.”
    He let out another breathy laugh, running a nervous hand through his hair.
    “I’m—I’m happy with this. With you. We can—we can tell people whatever you want. Oh—but, I, uh—I’m really bad at lying, so you should know that—”
    “I do know that.”
    Naruto sagged into a laugh, and the soft smile made it back to Sasuke’s face.
    “Moron.”
    “Y—bastard!” Naruto said, but he was just comfortable enough to hop his way beside Sasuke, onto his bed.
    Sasuke didn’t move away.
    “Aw, hey,” he said, seeing Sasuke’s desk for the first time—and thrown over the back of the chair— “you kept my jacket!”
    Sasuke snorted.
    “What did you think I’d do? Throw it out?”
    “I dunno! You could’ve!” Naruto laughed, nudging his shoulder into Sasuke’s. “Have you worn it since?”
    Sasuke snorted again, but that...that wasn’t really an answer—
    “Speaking of that game, has your head recovered? You took quite the hit.”
    “Th—oh my god, you ass! That was one time!”
    “Mhm,” Sasuke said, his smile twitching—
    “Dick! And we won that—god, and here I was, gonna tell you how awesome you just were—”
    Sasuke immediately looked up.
    “You liked it?”
    Something in Naruto softened, and he let out a laugh.
    “Yeah,” he said. “You lied to me. It wasn’t boring at all.”
    Sasuke scoffed, but ducked his head, as if shifting away from the praise. His fingertips skimmed Naruto’s hand, though, and Naruto immediately raised his own so he could catch them as they did it again—
    “I think the last one was my favourite,” he said, letting their fingers intertwine. “I liked the whole thing, though. It was cool when you’d just like...merge one song into something totally different.”
    “...Thank you.”
    “My cousin’s gonna be mad at me though,” Naruto said, and Sasuke huffed out a laugh. “Itachi says he’s sorry.”
    “As he should be,” Sasuke muttered, and Naruto let his head fall to rest on Sasuke’s shoulder. “You don’t mind?”
    “I don’t. I told you. It’s whatever you’re okay with.”
    There was a small pause. Naruto scanned the jacket still hanging on Sasuke’s chair and thought it—it was weird. It was weird how much better it looked now, hanging there, than it ever had in Naruto’s closet…
    “And what are you...okay with?” came Sasuke’s voice, and it made Naruto sit up.
    “Uh—I—uh—a lot. Sorry, that’s vague, I’m—” he laughed, and he let go of Sasuke’s hand to shove his hair back again. “Um. I’d—if you were okay with—dating. Exclusively. I’d—I’d like that.”
    There. There. Let Sasuke do with that what he would. He—
    “Only if you’re okay with it! No pressure, I—I know that—”
    Sasuke pressed a gentle kiss to his lips, and Naruto was silenced. Even as Sasuke pulled back, the echo of Sasuke’s warmth pulsed on Naruto’s lips, he breathed in and he—
    “Is—is—does that—”
    Sasuke leaned in again.
    “Take the hint,” he said softly, pressing close, “moron.”
    Oh. Oh. They were dating—Sasuke was okay with them dating—Sasuke wanted to date him, Sasuke was crawling into his lap and Naruto was wrapping his arms around him and Sasuke wanted to date him—
    “Oh,” Naruto breathed, breaking the kiss— “Itachi said something about the movies? Did you not know that was a date?”
    “...I am going to kill that man.”

Naruto Shippuden, ep 494-500
IT’S OVER
Jokes aside, the fillers that come after the Sasuke v Naruto battle are basically near worthless and don’t really add anything to the series. It would have been better off ending there. This last batch regarding the NH wedding are especially bad because they have... nothing to say, frankly, but I guess they really, really wanted to end on a round number.
494:
Sadoru-sensei, a new instructor at the Academy.
Konohamaru doesn’t look anything like himself. I only know it’s him because of his verbal tic.
Nobody in Kakashi’s age group has kids except Kurenai and it’s... both funny and ridiculous. We can shove Kiba and Chouji into totally random relationships (note that Chouji is still single when NH marry, but their kids are the same age), but we’ll be damned if Iruka dates anyone ever.
Iruka is offered the position of vice principal. Since like so many things in this filler, there was a bunch of back and forth about whether he’d take the... examination(???)... I don’t remember the final outcome.
For some reason, Naruto needs “auspicious news” on his wedding day...???
Iruka got a lot paler, for some reason.
Kakashi addresses what is implied to be... either all the shinobi in Konoha or all the jounin, and calling it a few hundred is a stretch. The size of this village will never make sense.
So the main conceit of this filler is that Naruto and Hinata are friends with basically EVERY jounin in Konoha, and everyone wants to attend their wedding. But someone needs to remain on duty for missions and internal duties. Kakashi decides to follow some bizarre old procedure which grades presents to see who can attend... and includes NH’s close friends in this. Instead of just... excluding their teammates and actual friends, like a sane person would. Or are we supposed to believe that Naruto will be heartbroken if random extra #56 can’t attend but who cares if Sakura can come?
The whole thing is pretty dumb, but the presents everyone gets are also rather bad. They spend a lot of time discussing needing to think about what Naruto and Hinata would like and then they get random stuff that is either totally generic or else is related to their own interests instead. If you look at the presents, none of them really show any deep friendship at all lmao.
495:
Konorin, the unofficial village mascot
The animation is kind of off the entire filler, but it’s particularly bad this episode.
There is so much Orochimaru. He’s all over the place all throughout. I will never accept criticism about letting my biased faves live through the war and not give any fucks about redemption or whatever. Because canon obviously doesn’t care about that stuff either. lol @ Sasuke and his travels, but Orochimaru is different.
496:
Satocho, a super fancy teahouse that VIPs like the Hokage go to.
I’m not sure who is done dirtier by this take on Shikatema.
497:
Kumo is proud of their sake, beef and also games(?). I really kind of wonder if they mean Lightning Country as a whole, or if the ninja village in the mountains is somehow raising cows.
They grow flowers in Suna? Also, are proud of their... bluefin tuna? And sweets.
Hidden Sand Samba....
I’m still not over how the next set of Kage are just... the only named young characters from their villages, for Iwa and Kiri. I think Darui at least did have something going on in the war, though I’ve completely forgotten what his deal was. But Kurotsuchi? The glasses kid?? How and why are they Kage material...
I still don’t like the new elastic headbands. They just look dumb.
498:
Mirai calls them “Akakiba” and “Kibamaru.” Cute.
Senju gave honey wine as a wedding gift. It can be used for cooking or as a medicinal tonic. It can be acquired from a beekeeper in Sora-ku.
Kiba meets Tamaki at this point and apparently falls in love at first sight...
Kiba still goes on about becoming Hokage. He’s a joke, but Naruto and Obito have a profound connection because of their shared dream, sure.
Shino starts considering becoming a teacher after this episode.
499:
Iruka has this ongoing thread that seems to amount to “I feel more for Naruto than my other students, I wonder what it could be.” Which is... certainly something, especially combined with his other stuff about wondering whether he even knows Naruto these days. I never really understood why the series insists on making sure its relationships are as limited as possible (and then has to retcon them to be more meaningful in dumb ways because, oh, it turns out it needs those relationships after all).
Hinata cries because their wedding is causing trouble for others.
500:
Obsession with pain one more time for the road.
Iruka can’t cook.
Why is Iruka so mad here? He’s very annoying this time, berating Naruto harshly out of nowhere.
Naruto’s request for Iruka is weird since Naruto met and bonded with Minato already. Asking Iruka to attend as family I could understand, but specifically as his father? Especially since Iruka, as we see, was absolutely NOT that close to Naruto.
Sasuke not even coming to the wedding is such a mess.
The last thing in Naruto is a commercial for Boruto :)

A Response to Hate + Wisdom, I Suggest Everyone Reads.
This is a pretty long post replying to some hate I got from a recent post I made about Mirajane Strauss and Laxus Dreyar, I linked it at the bottom of this if you would like to read it. I think everyone should read this post not only because its some piping hot tea, but there’s also a lot of other things I talk about in this that I feel like everyone should hear. Totally understand if you don’t want to read it though. Let me know what you think!
First here is what they/you said (in order):
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hi I just liked to start with I blocked you from send me anymore ask, but I’m letting you know if you change devices you can still ask me things or messages, if you DM (off anon) ill take your request seriously, but since you’re on anon I’m not gonna take you seriously, sorry. Especially after you were actually mean to me when I did nothing wrong, which is why I’m making this post even though I’d normally ignore it.
Lets start with the general Miraxus stuff, that post WAS NOT hate. You have to be delusional and overly obsessed to believe that was a hate post, or that I was spreading “false information.” In the post I literally said they had good development and linked a master list of ALL their interactions. The entire post was about how even though I don’t ACTIVELY ship them (meaning they are cute and I agree they would be a good couple, but I just don’t get that feeling where I’m like “oh okay yes them” and I feel the need to stalk them, ((not everyone hates what threatens their ships)), and I’m not denying they are very cute, and have a lot of cute art and moments, it just doesn’t hype me up the same way other ships do.) So, this post was pro-miraxus, I’m literally saying they honestly deserved to become canon/canon-ish like a lot of the other ships did, so it was not “cross tagged” the post was about mira and laxus and thats what I tagged it, if you are talking about the part where i tagged “#I feel sorry for anyone who ships miraxus” that is literally me validating anyone hurt over the ending.  Again, I’m not following the Miraxus tag or any account solely dedicated to that ship so I didn’t even know he drew a kid or them, that’s super cool, good for you. I wasn’t being “biased” because I’m not neck deep in any ship for Laxus or Mira, yes i think CanaJane is cute but I know its very unrealistic, this is why I was able to form this opinion that they deserved better. The post was about how Mashima baited Miraxus the entire series, then said “Never!!!!” even if it was Lucy’s inner thoughts, Mashima knew what he was doing. I was saying, “wow that probably sucked if you really liked them! I’m sorry!” If you believe my post was to degrade Mira x Laxus and hype Cana x Mira, then you need to take a step back and re-evaluate yourself, I understand you are probably like 13-14 but that’s still not okay to attack people because they don’t agree with you, and if you are older that 13 or 14 that’s just embarrassing. I also believe that Freed x Laxus deserved a better ending and I also don’t actively ship that either, Freed spent the whole series wanting to protect and be by the side of Laxus and they had no interaction in the finale.
 Next, lets go to the part about you saying I’m a “slash fetishizer shipper” (also i literally had to look up what this meant) I can only assume you canajane because i said they “hit different” right? Let me just re insert what you said to make sure I reply correctly
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yes I think Cana and Mira are very attractive, and I think they are hot together too. Hi i’m into girls. I am the woke points. I agree people make lgbt people into a fetish and don’t actually respect them, but that’s mostly males thinking lesbians are hot while being gross out by gay men, I may be naive but you don’t often see that on anime tumblr where half the people are gay anyway, not to mention most are female. This next part may be controversial I’m not sure, but people don’t need a reason to ship characters and no one can tell them who they can and can’t ship (this does not apply to shipping a child with an adult), so you can’t say only gay people can ship to people of the same gender, sorry that’s not how it works, i understand you’re trying to get those “woke points” but you just look like a fool. But then next you said this:
Tumblr media
Actual author content? Oh you mean like the post I linked that showed EVERY SINGLE interaction/moment/hints that Miraxus had? Like I said, they had good development, and my post was about how the AUTHOR should’ve given them a better ending. I’d just like to add there are many moments that the AUTHOR wrote between Cana and Mira that made me ship them, if the AUTHOR never wrote anything to where they interacted, I wouldn’t ship them?  This post is not about that though so I’m not gonna go anymore into them.
Tumblr media
“false information” girl what? where? I’m genuinely curious, I used screenshots of the manga to present to idea that Miraxus deserved better and that’s all I talked about so I’m confused what you been by this:
Tumblr media
So I can tell you took the one line where i said I like CanaJane more than Miraxus and in your mind twisted my entire PRO-miraxus argument into and anti post, this kind of behavior is toxic, and “its not a good look sir”
Let also clarify something, cross tagging is posting about something and tagging things completely unrelated, this post was about mira and laxus and thats what it was tagged about. Cross tagging is often used in shipping wars, but my post was pro-miraxus so it makes no sense for you to repeatedly say I was cross tagging and that’s why you were mad, it’s very clear you were just mad because I said I shipped CanaJane and that clouded your judgement when reading everything else. If you wanna see real cross tagging look up any naruto ship and scroll for about 3 seconds. So, no I won’t be removing the tags because that makes no sense, but if it’s important enough for you to message me off anon then we’ll talk.
My final section of this response is how hypocritical you were. Like with he part, “I don’t hate you” To quote tiktok and nicki minaj, “don’t be tryna double back, I already despise you”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As you can see you repeatedly said I was mean, but no where in my post did I say anything like “Mira x Laxus is gross, its toxic, its dumb, its...idk...forced!”, i literally never said anything like that because like I’ve said in this post and in that one, they’re cute and they had good development. You were the mean one in your response telling me i had “no reading skills whatsoever”, that i had a “lack of respect”,  said I’m “more than pitiful” and this isn’t mentioning all of your back handed pettiness throughout every single message you sent, you think you “look cool” but “hun”...”sweetie”...you just look dumb, but at least you are on anon!
Tumblr media
Educate myself? girl this isn’t politics, you’re pressed over a post saying your ship deserved better than it got??? What am I supposed to do watch the anime, read the manga, well good thing I did. GUESS WHAT THEY HAD GOOD DEVELOPMENT i can see why you ship them.
The only rude person here is you, you came into my asks and attacked me because you were blinded for reasons I can’t figure out, and you hid behind the anonymous setting which clearly means you don’t care that much about Miraxus, you just wanted to be mean.
If you’re reading this, and you sent me the messages, message me off anonymous, then we can realistically talk about me taking off my so called cross tagging, I really don’t care that much, I’m just baffled you had to audacity to come for me so hard then “nicely” ask me to remove the tags.
If you’re reading this and you didn’t send me these messages, thanks for reading, maybe share this so people understand that this behavior is not okay. I know what I got was mostly just petty ranting, but there are people who send way worse to others and its just not okay. Just because these aren’t are real accounts like these are fandom accounts doesn’t make it okay. Thanks!
Here is the post in reference:

Halloween Imagine Requests!
Tumblr media
Hello my lovely readers! As you can see the month of September is winding down and one of my most favorite times of the year creeps upon us (emphasis on the creeps) OCTOBER!! Which means Halloween. Not gonna lie I'm a Halloween nerd (I keep skulls and pumpkins up all year in my goth color fandom-like room). So as a small heads up I will be taking on Halloween themed imagine requests. I'd like to keep them short because I do work a full time job six days a week and it's been so very hectic with all the Covid going around. So with that said I would love to take some creepy, horror, and sweet fic ideas. Now do keep in mind I have rules and I do have the right to deny requests if I don't deem them worthy. But I will lend a ear (not literally for you zombies out there). So below I will leave my do's and don'ts. I'll also leave a fandom list because we can conjure up some spooky goodness for otherwise none spooky shows/movies. So thank you in advance and may your October/Halloween be full of delicious horrors! Until next time happy reading!

Life’s a Circus
Tumblr media
Category: Friendship Fluff
Fandom: Naruto
Characters: Naruto Uzumaki and Sakura Haruno

“A circus?”
Sakura’s green eyes widened as Naruto elatedly presented the colorful flyer that he had spotted on the window of a local pastry shop during his jaunt to meet the pink-haired kunoichi at Ichiraku Ramen for dinner. Now that the war was over and the world was all peace-filled, they had taken to scheduling weekly get-togethers of the team. Sai was off on a mission this evening, but he and Sakura had decided to meet anyway because neither of them had anything better to do; when he had spotted the announcement, he had instantly realized that it was the perfect opportunity to shake up the hum-drum of routine.
“Yeah! They’ve put up a big pavilion in one of the training grounds! It starts in an hour; if we book it, we can totally make it, believe it!” The last time he had been to the circus was that business in Crescent Moon Island, way back when he was a plucky little Genin. He had thoroughly enjoyed it then, and there was no reason that several years later the opposite would be true. “It says they got a hypnotist!” he insisted while fervently pointing at the exciting script that indicated such. Sakura’s lips were pursed in a look of displeasure and uncertainty that he had often seen her wear.
“I don’t know, Naruto. A hypnotist? Sounds like a sham. It’s probably genjutsu.”
“Who cares?” he whined and slouched over dramatically. Then, pouring as much pleading sparkle into his clear blue eyes as he could muster, he tilted his head upwards into a begging puppy-dog expression, bottom lip poked out and his cheeks filling with the rosy innocence of an endearing child. “Please, Sakura? It’ll be fun! Believe it!” Sakura rolled her eyes at his deplorable attempts at placating her, but he knew it worked like a charm from the faint smile that graced her lips. She exhaled deeply while tossing a hand through her sakura-colored hair.
“Oh, all right… It is something different, after all.” Naruto cheered with delight and shoved the flyer back into his trusty pouch before grabbing Sakura by the hand, insisting that they take off that instant. The girl yelped some kind of startled response as he jerked on her arm, pulling her into a run to make a mad dash for the big top circus that they could just barely see poking above the horizon of village buildings and trees that was the Hidden Leaf Village.
~~~~~~~~~~
Naruto was literally vibrating with energy as he sat beside Sakura in the bleachers that circled the circus floor; his leg bounced at lightspeed as he shoved handfuls of popcorn into his mouth, practically embodying the image of a twitchy chipmunk. “Calm down, will you? It’s just a circus, Naruto.” The words would’ve irritated him if it weren’t for her playful tone of voice. As he gave her a side-eye, strategically maneuvering the half-eaten popcorn in his mouth so as not to choke and die, she flashed him that sweet smile of hers and leaned over to grab a handful of the popcorn from the bucket and eat it in a much more delicate manner than himself. If he had been in this situation a year prior, Naruto would’ve been swooning at the prospect that he and Sakura were on a date, but he no longer had any fantasies of such; at some point his romantic affections for the girl had been replaced by friendship and respect. A lot of that had to do with Sasuke, who had more or less acknowledged Sakura’s feelings for him and in his own weird way expressed some level of mutual attraction, though that was yet undecided; he had left her at the village entrance with only cryptic words as before, disappearing into the blue for his mission for atonement or whatever. Regardless, Naruto was actually quite happy with the situation. He liked spending time with Sakura on just a friendship basis and wasn’t actively seeking anything more.
“Hey, are you paying attention? The show is about to start!” Sakura’s giggly voice and elbow into his ribs brought him out of his introspection. His eyes fixed onto the streaming stage lights, white circles tracing patterns across the packed dirt floor before settling on the ringmaster dramatically flourishing on a decorated pedestal.
“Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, welcome!” he announced, and the crowd responded with a raucous chorus of cheers and claps. The ringmaster gave the characteristic, dramatic introduction before vanishing beyond the cloth fabric of the big top, allowing the performers to literally steal his show. Naruto and Sakura soon became engrossed in the splendorous performances of the circus actors; graceful acrobats performed gravity-defying feats of gymnastics upon thin ropes and swinging bars, leaping across the air in complex flips and spins. Next, a set of ribbon dancers glided down from a catwalk high above their heads. Sakura thoroughly enjoyed this bit, tears filling her enraptured eyes as powerful instrumental music echoed about the big top to accompany the dancers elegantly soared around the room like beautiful birds (in fact, their costumed features plumaged leotards and ornate feathered headdresses); Naruto thought it was pretty but had no idea why Sakura seemed so emotional about the entire dance, and when he commented on this she whacked him over the head and called him an uncultured twit. As he nursed the goose egg that was already poking out of his fluffy blonde hair, he made a mental note to just let her cry over whatever she wanted with no comment.
A parade of animals, tigers and monkeys and elephants clothed in patterned fabrics led by similarly clothed retainers, marched a circle around the big top before dispersing across the floor to engage in a series of tricks. Acrobats danced across the elephants, lightly flitting over their backs and across their thick trunks; the monkeys juggled a few balls and engaged in humorous banter with a posse of clowns that had Naruto rolling in his seat, leaving Sakura the one to be unimpressed; the twin tigers demonstrated their roaring prowess before leaping through flaming hoops. By the time the crux of the performance arrived, the promised hypnotist, Naruto and Sakura were thoroughly entertained.
The performer glided out onto center stage like a phantom, silent but nonetheless captivating. A black mask eclipsed his facial features, and as he swung his arm in a dramatic flourish, the cape he was wearing flapped like dark bats entering the night from their dank cave. Piercing blue eyes flitted across the crowd, smug and calculating.
“For my performance tonight, I require a set of volunteers. Would anyone like to step forward?” Naturally the crowd exploded into thunderous cheers and cries, and hands waved in the air like flags flapping in a fierce breeze. Of course, Naruto jumped to his feet hooting and hollering like a buffoon, making Sakura grimace beside him; his little stunt worked, however, as the hypnotist’s eyes fixed upon him and a smirk graced his thin lips. “I think you and that lovely lady you’re with will do quite nicely. Would you please join me?” he asked, and Naruto was momentarily blinded as the stage lights shifted to bathe them in their intense white brilliance- or, perhaps he was blinded by the opportunity at stardom.
“C’mon, Sakura, let’s go!” he snickered as he grasped her hand tightly to drag her out of the bleachers and down to the circus floor. The poor girl stumbled to keep up with Naruto’s manic energy. His giggles floated behind them in a song, and he was still chuckling in anticipation as he joined the very handsome hypnotist on the floor. He could tell that he was handsome because a light blush painted Sakura’s cheeks when he took her hand to lightly kiss the top of it, like a prince would a princess. He gave Naruto a regal bow, which Naruto returned politely and somehow did not lose his balance and make a fool of himself.
“Very good. Now, ladies and gentlemen, I will recite the ancient words and when I finish, these two will be compelled to do as I wish. You two, just stand there for a moment, please,” he purred with another flourish of his cape, raising his hands in what was undoubtedly some form of intricate incantation. Naruto and Sakura looked at each other out of the corners of their eyes as he began to utter some sort of foreign language. Naruto supposed he should have felt something, something related to the supposed magic or genjutsu or whatever the hypnotist was doing, but he felt nothing. He could tell from the puzzled look on Sakura’s face that she felt the same; likely she had already released the genjutsu if there was one, and was about to make him out to be a fraud. Is this guy really a sham? He wondered as the man finished speaking. No tingling, no sleepiness, nothing at all; Naruto ran his hands over his body to ensure that he was no different, but he was not. As he moved, the hypnotist’s electric eyes locked onto Naruto. “You there. Do you know how to dance?”
“Do what?” Naruto spluttered. What the hell kinda question is that?!
“Dance. I think you do. Why don’t you show the audience, please?” Naruto was about to tell him to shove off, but all of a sudden his body suddenly jerked without him even thinking about it.
“What the-?” he squeaked in fright as his arms and legs suddenly started moving on their own, and he swept an equally surprised Sakura up in some form of elaborate tango, one hand on her hip and the other grasping hers as he spun her around and around the circus floor.
“Naruto! What do you think you’re doing?!” she snapped at him as he very uncoordinatedly wrenched her around in some poor excuse for ballroom.
“I dunno! My body just started moving on its own!” he cried back. His response was nearly drowned by the crowd’s mixture of cheers and laughter. Naruto’s ears began to burn with embarrassment, and he shot a glare out into the bleachers as his shoulders hunched up haughtily. “Bastards! Stop laughin’!” he whined.
“Stop, please.” At the hypnotist’s utterance, Naruto abruptly regained control of his body, and he jumped away from his partner to begin stomping over to the hypnotist. His teeth were grinding and he was rolling up the sleeve of his jumpsuit while he flexed his arm muscles for a very savage punch.
“What’d you do ta me? Why I oughta-“
“You ought to take a nap, please.”
Next thing Naruto knew, he was blinking awake, lying flat on his back in the sandy floor of the circus. Sakura was leaning over him, her pink eyebrows knit together in concern.
“What the-?” he mumbled groggily as he wearily lifted his head. Another goose egg had joined the one Sakura had given him earlier, and a wheedling whine slipped out of him as his fingers caressed the very tender lumps. “Ouch…”
“You passed out all of a sudden, and as soon as he told you to wake up, you did,” Sakura murmured to him as she placed a hand at the small of his back to help him sit up. Naruto’s bottom lip poked out as he glowered at the charismatic hypnotist, who had his arms crossed and a very accomplished smirk decorating his annoyingly pretty face.
“It’s definitely some type of genjutsu,” he grumbled as he pushed himself up to his feet, brushing the dirt off his bottom and back before dramatically pointing at the hypnotist. “Stop makin’ a fool of me! I know your trick, believe it!” He then whirled on his heel to face Sakura, making her eyebrows shoot up to her forehead. “Hit me! It’ll get rid of the genjutsu, right?”
“Don’t be a moron.”
“The young lady is right, you know. My hypnotism isn’t some trick just anyone can beat,” the hypnotist chuckled lightly with a small shrug and light toss of his head. He cracked an eye open when Sakura scoffed loudly. Naruto beamed as the confident smirk jumped from the hypnotist’s face to hers. “Oh? You think you’ve figured it out? Let’s test the theory then, shall we? Miss, why don’t you come over here and give me a kiss, please?”
“Do what?!” Naruto screeched. “Sakura, there’s no wa- ehhh?” When the blonde turned once more to stare incredulously at the pink-haired kunoichi, he found her not at his side, but sidling over to the very amused hypnotist who was leaning to the side tapping his cheek with his index finger expectantly. Sakura clasped her hands behind her back and shyly wiggled her shoulders, and Naruto smirked. Hah! She’s just acting! She’s about to sock this loony into next week!
Naruto’s jaw hit the floor when she did not in fact deliver one of her signature punches to the smug bastard, but instead leaned over and very delicately pressed her lips to his cheek. All the while those glittering blue eyes bored into Naruto’s, issuing a daring challenge. Steam blew out of Naruto’s ears and his teeth nearly ground themselves into dust. Sakura, meanwhile, composed herself and jumped backwards with a horrified gasp, her hands flying to her mouth and her green eyes wide as moons.
“D-did I just-?!”
The girls in the crowd, meanwhile, were losing their minds. It seemed they were quite jealous of Sakura’s opportunity to deliver a kiss to the beguiling young man. As Naruto continued to rage, the hypnotist laughed in a carefree manner and dramatically bowed to the crowd.
The hypnotist spent the rest of his performance making an utter fool out of Naruto and parading Sakura around as some sort of bewitching, beautiful partner of his. By the end of it, they were both red-faced and steaming like tomatoes in the sun. Meanwhile, the hypnotist was lapping up the crowd, bowing as roses rained down on him.
“Thank you, thank you! It has been a splendorous evening! Please give a round of applause to my lovely two assistants,” he purred while holding out a rose to Sakura, who promptly snatched it out of his hand and crumpled the poor flower in her overpowered fist. Naruto was in as foul a mood; his eye had been twitching for the last ten minutes now, and it was beginning to ache.
“We are never going to the circus again.”
“No, never,” Naruto muttered in agreement.
~~~~~~~~~~
“The nerve of that jerk! He made total fools of us!” Naruto snapped as soon as he located the nearest trash can and kicked it over. He then felt bad when it startled a nearby stray cat and sent it slinking into the alleyway with a terrified mew. “Oh, no, kitty, I’m so sorry!” he wailed in dismay and crawled through the upended trash after it. The cat did not forgive him, and he slunk back to Sakura covered in scratches and his pride even more bruised. The girl seemed not to notice at all; she had her hand on her chin and her eyebrows knitted as she pondered something deeply. “Yo, what’re thinkin’ about so hard?”
“That hypnotist. He had to have been using some kind of genjutsu, but why wasn’t I able to release it?”
“Who knows? Who cares? I wanna forget about the whole ordeal,” he groaned while assuming a cross-legged position right in the middle of the street. Half of the village had been there, and he knew that he was going to be dogged about his laughable antics for weeks. Sakura was not so willing to do so. The ground cracked underneath her as she stamped her foot, making Naruto yelp and cringe.
“No! I have to know!”
“Jeez! Would you just forget about it, please?” he argued back hotly. He saw Sakura’s body tense and he immediately curled up, shielding his tender head from a third blow from the undoubtedly irate kunoichi. The expected fist never fell, and he gingerly peered out of the gap in his arms to see Sakura with a completely puzzled expression on her face. “Sakura?”
“I forgot what I was talking about just now.” Naruto would’ve told her not to joke about things like that, knowing she would be playing off the hypnotism, but as good as an actor she was, she could not fake the acute level of confusion and concern that was painted across her features at that moment. Naruto lowered his arms, his eyebrow rising instead. “I… really don’t remember.”
The lightbulb blazed in Naruto’s head.
“Sakura… Did that guy ever actually release the hypnotism?” She put a finger to her lips as she pondered the question, and her expression gradually turned more horrified.
“Now that you mention it… He didn’t do another weird incantation, did he?” The silence settled between them like a thick fog… and was promptly blasted away as the simultaneously released mortified screeches and pulled at their hair.
“You mean we’re gonna be like this forever?!”
“Hell no! We have to find a way to release this genjutsu! I can’t be doing weird things every time someone says ‘please’!” Sakura cried as she very angrily ruffled her pink hair about. She then grabbed Naruto by the wrist, ignoring his whimper as he felt his bones crunch under her much-too-tight grip. “Come on! We aren’t sleeping until we sort this out!” He tried to dig in his feet, but he only accomplished scoring deep trenches into the earth. His whines and begs for Sakura to release him floated up into the night air, ignored and forgotten as she concentrated on fuming about their dismal situation…
~~~~~~~~~~
Naruto’s bottom lip was wobbling and tears were quietly leaking from his eyes as he gingerly held an ice pack around his very likely broken wrist, huddled on the floor like some sort of depressed gremlin. Sakura, completely unaware of the injury she had caused him, had pulled her hair up into a short ponytail and was chewing on the eraser end of a pencil, staring down at the words she had scribbled down onto a scrap sheet of paper. The brilliant girl had of course memorized the words should they come in handy to breaking the genjutsu. “This definitely isn’t a language I’ve heard before. The secret must lie in these words. Perhaps it’s some sort of cipher…” she mumbled to herself. She had been just staring at it for nearly an hour, and it was late into the night. Naruto was sleepy. With a groan, he flopped onto his side and peered up at her wearily through his bangs.
“Can’t we just figure this out in the morning?”
“No!” Naruto rolled onto his back and kicked his legs and arms about like a child throwing a tantrum. “Stop acting like a child, Naruto! Please.” Per the hypnosis, he immediately ceased all actions and his face grew deadpan.
“I have paperwork to do.”
“If that’s your idea of being an adult, I’m concerned,” she snorted with laughter. Naruto regained his sense, blinking, and then grimaced deeply. As much as he wanted to crawl into his bed and conk out, it was annoying to be subject to the hypnotism. He dragged himself up into a sitting position- well, more of a slouching position- and frowned at her while she continued to tut to herself. It didn’t take long for his attention span to lapse and the boredom to itch beneath his skin. Man, this is so lame! If I have to sit here and just watch her try to figure this out all night, I’m gonna go nuts! he complained to himself. His eyes wandered over to the cipher scrawled onto the paper, which had apparently not yet revealed anything to the smart young woman. So the rule of the hypnosis is if you say “please” after telling someone what to do, they gotta do it, right? A mischievous egg hatched into a devilish little chick of an idea in his mind. Sakura was too busy thinking to notice the wily grin spread across his face.
“Hey, Sakura. Do a handstand, please.” Her cry of protest caught in her throat as her body reacted against her will, and he cackled in triumph as she literally threw herself into the form. She spit thin strands of pink hair from her lips as her green eyes burned like smoldering sea foam. “Ahahaha! Now I get why it’s so funny!”
“Naruto, cluck like a chicken, please.” Sakura had not even fallen from the handstand before the words left her mouth, dripping with acidic anger. The gasp that he was going to release exited as a loud squawk, and she smirked while Naruto tried to speak and only managed to utter ridiculous clucks for a good few seconds. As she rolled onto her back and sat up again, tossing her ruffled hair over her shoulder, Naruto sniffed dourly. It was definitely on now.
“All right, Sakura, I want you to howl like a wolf for a whole minute, please!” Naruto scrambled out of the way of her attempted stranglehold, and as she flopped on her belly grasping at the air where he had been sitting just a few precious seconds before, she opened her mouth and let out a long, not-very-wolf-like howl. Her green eyes flashed with malice and she scrambled after him, chasing him around and around his bedroom, howling like a deranged dog all the while. When she finally managed to wrangle him into submission, straddling him while pinning him with her arm pressed into his throat, the hypnosis had lapse. She brought her face close to his. Her grin bordered on lunacy.
“You want to play this game, do ya? Okay then…”
Their motive had switched from deciphering the genjutsu to making each other do the most ridiculous things possible, and Naruto soon regretted provoking Sakura, because her ideas were far more satanic than any he could ever think up. “Pull your socks off with your teeth, please! Go walk down the street on your hands, please! Try and drink this glass of water standing on your head, please!” By the time Naruto was crawling up the steps to his apartment after jumping out of the window at Sakura’s command, he was breathing hard and wallowing in regret.
“Okay, Sakura, I’m sorry! No more!” he whined as he dragged himself through the threshold of the door. She could have told him to beg for forgiveness and kiss her boots, and he would do it without her even saying “please.” She towered over him, arms crossed and the picture of triumph.
“Ah-ah-ah. I have one more command for you, Naruto.” He let out a whimper and grabbed onto her boot with tears streaming down his whiskered cheeks.
“Please… Have mercy…” he pleaded as she squatted down in front of him. Her smirk sent shivers down his spine.
“Tell me your deepest, darkest secrets, please.” Mercy, it seemed, was not in Sakura’s vocabulary. The words began to tumble from his mouth like an avalanche.
“One time, Iruka-sensei almost caught me with a dirty magazine and I panicked and shoved it in Kiba’s desk and he got in trouble for it even though it was mine and he still doesn’t know I was the one who hid it there. This other time when I was staying in a hotel with Jiraiya-sensei I broke a vase and I just kind of stuck it back together and I dunno if anyone ever found out about it. Then this other time-“ Naruto continued rattling off his secrets, mostly pranks and attempts of hiding stupid decisions, until finally he sputtered, “- and I’m pretty sure I’m in love with Hinata but I’m honestly not sure what to do about it because I’m pretty dumb when it comes to that, y’know?”
The last one came as a shock even to him. He knew he has always liked Hinata- maybe not in a romantic sense at first, but he did like her; she was sweet, and humble, and pretty, and encouraging… Naruto’s cheeks flushed with both embarrassment and breathlessness as he stared uncomfortably up at the woman who had yanked the confession out of him. Sakura’s eyes had widened, and she was just staring at him. “S-Say something, okay!”
“Wow,” she breathed as she fell back into a sitting position, putting a hand up to her mouth as she considered the weighty reveal. “I had no idea, Naruto.”
“Yeah, well, me either. Guess we both know now,” he huffed as he pushed himself up. They now sat across from one another, cross-legged and pink-faced. “… So… What should I do, Sakura?” The playful mood had evaporated. Naruto wanted to get serious now. The cat was out of the bag, so he might as well get some advice from the one person who understood love better than anyone else. Sakura clicked her tongue as she leaned back a little, her head tilted upwards as she pondered how to explain the predicament.
“Well, Naruto, have you ever just considered telling her how you feel?”
“Sakura, I’m dumb, okay? Until ten seconds ago I didn’t even know what I had was a crush. Plus, y’know, I’m not good with words all the time. I’m afraid I’ll sound stupid.”
“Good point,” she laughed dryly and looked at him with a soft smile. “You know that Hinata loves you, right?” Naruto knew that, or at least he thought he did. She had said something of the sort during his battle with Pain, but he was a little delirious from blood loss and had gone berserk immediately after. He was never really sure what had really happened that day so he had ignored it. It was probably a stupid decision on his part, in hindsight. His confusion on the matter must have shown in his face, because Sakura exhaled deeply. “Naruto, Hinata is definitely in love with you, so at least you won’t have to face the possibility of rejection. Hinata already confessed to you once, and that took a lot of strength. I’m not sure it’ll happen again, so you should probably be the one to approach her.”
“Yeah…”
“Just say what you feel, Naruto. Honesty is what matters.” That made sense. Sakura had always been honest with Sasuke, even if he had rejected her at first, and it had worked out for her in the end. Feeling better about the situation, he flashed her a bright smile.
“Yeah! Thanks, Sakura! I’m gonna tell Hinata how I feel, believe it!” He pumped his fists a little, feeling energized. Sakura giggled and leaned over to take the paper with the incantation on it. Naruto jumped as she suddenly slapped her forehead and groaned loudly. “What? What is it?”
“I’m so dumb!” she sighed and crumpled up the sheet of paper to toss it Naruto’s wastebasket. Naruto must have been even dumber because he had no idea of the revelation she had stumbled upon. “How could we have not thought to say the words again and see if the jutsu breaks?” As soon as she said it, Naruto slammed his head into the floor as the weight of their combined idiocy struck him. Of course it had been that simple! Sakura had overthought it and Naruto really hadn’t been thinking at all in the first place, so naturally something so simple flew right over their heads. Sakura quickly recited the incantation and then timidly said, “Okay, Naruto, raise your right hand, please.” The young man held his breath as he waited for his body to spontaneously react… but he was not compelled in the slightest.
“It worked!” he cheered and flung both of his hands into the air. Sakura breathed a sigh and held her feet as she leaned back, her shoulder joints popping as she rolled them, as if she had been relieved of a great weight. Naruto gazed at her, and then began to snicker uncontrollably. She gave him a quizzical look. “Tonight was fun, wasn’t it?”
“Yes, it was,” she agreed with a serene smile. She glanced out of the window, where the starry night sky glistened beyond the thin pane of glass. “It’s gotten late.”
“Ya want me to walk you home?”
“Actually, I was thinking I could stay. We don’t always get time to talk like this since you go on so many missions, Mr. World Savior,” she responded with a wink. Naruto was surprised, but not unpleasantly. He grinned widely and scooched a bit closer to Sakura with that radiant smile still plastered on his face.
“Okay! Let’s talk, then!”
Thus, he and Sakura talked deep into the night about all manners of things. They reminisced of memories and contemplated the future; their emotions rolled between happiness and sadness and everything in between. They both collapsed in a mess of blankets and pillows on Naruto’s floor just as the sun was creeping above the horizon to paint the indigo sky in shades of gold. The sunlight streamed into the room to bathe the two lifelong friends in its warmth, the light catching on the smiles still ghosting their lips as they basked in dreams of days gone and yet to come…
“I’m exhausted…” Sakura sighs, collapsing on a chair inside the inn where they’ll be staying for the night. “Why did Kakashi-sensei have to arrange this stupid bonding exercise? If he thinks I’m sharing a room with you two, he’s crazy.”
“You have to, Sakura,” Naruto reminds her. “We only have one room paid for.”
“Actually, I already got my own room,” she replies with a smug smile. “You two have fun being crowded in together.” She flashes an annoying peace sign and disappears, cackling like a witch—which she honestly might be.
Sasuke sighs and rolls his eyes, collecting their room key from the innkeeper. “Let her get caught by Kakashi-sensei: I couldn’t care less.”
“But this is supposed to be team-building,” Naruto complains. “What If he planned this and we’re supposed to stop her?”
“Why would he do that? Only an idiot like you would think along those lines. Come on, let’s go,” Sasuke adds, before Naruto can fire back an insult. “The sooner we get this over with, the better.”
“Hey, wait for me!” Naruto trips up the stairs after him. “What, you got better things to do? You and Sakura both don’t care about this at all.”
“Wow, you’re actually right for once.” Sasuke pauses to unlock the door while Naruto pouts at his back. “Do you really not get it? Kakashi-sensei probably expected us to fight. He’s just trying to get rid of us for a few days.”
Naruto doesn’t say anything for a long time, frowning at the floor. Sasuke pulls him inside irritably after two minutes of waiting. “Don’t think too hard about it, moron. You might hurt yourself.”
“Really?” Naruto recovers quickly, throwing a pillow at his head that Sasuke dodges easily. “If we’re going to be sharing a room, you should be nicer to me!” Naruto whines persistently. “We should at least try to do the exercise and get along while we’re here.”
Sasuke sits on one of the beds and sighs. It’s not like he wants to fight all the time, but some part of him just can’t help it. Naruto makes him uneasy, in ways that he can’t combat rationally. Being alone only makes it worse, so he’s got no choice but to rely on insults to keep himself in check. If Naruto’s mad at him, he thinks, he can stop from feeling so… trapped.
“Shut up and go to sleep,” Sasuke says eventually, reaching over to turn off the oil lamp. “I want to hurry and be done with this ridiculous exercise.”
Naruto seems like he wants to protest, but he doesn’t say a word. There’s the sound of a creaking mattress, and then silence. Sasuke holds his breath until there’s the soft sound of breathing, and he can finally relax. He rolls over again and tries not to study Naruto’s face, but fails miserably. It’s nice to seem him so unusually calm. He’s never quiet unless he’s asleep.
“Sasuke.”
He flinches, nearly falling out of bed. “You’re awake?” Damn… He let his guard down without realizing.
“I can’t sleep with you staring daggers at me.” There’s the sound of a mattress shifting and Sasuke nearly has a heart attack when Naruto crouches right in front of him. “You seem weird lately.”
“Go away,” Sasuke mutters, more as a warning than anything. He’s terrified of the feelings that invade his chest when they’re this close, practically breathing in the same air. This is too dangerous.
“We’re supposed to be bonding,” Naruto says, completely ignoring him. “But I think you hate me, or maybe you think that I hate you? I totally don’t, by the way, even if you are annoying and have the worst attitude I’ve ever—“
Sasuke seizes him by the arm, pulls him into the bed, and pins him down all in one smooth motion. “I warned you,” he murmurs, unable to focus on anything beyond his lips, which are centimeters away. This is really bad. “You never shut up long enough to listen…”
He kisses him, even though he knows he shouldn’t.
Even though it should be the last thing on his mind—no, nothing is on his mind right now. He should be thinking about how this will change things between them, and how he’ll deal with this after the fact, but he isn’t. His mind is entirely blank beyond his mouth and Naruto’s and the painful gentleness of a kiss in the darkness.
“My money is on her.” Naruto proudly stated, crossing his arms across his chest and raising his left eyebrow to his best friend standing next to him.
“If it was a normal fight, she'd definitely have the advantage, but it is taijutsu we are talking about. Boruto had improved so much, even Lee complimented him.” Sasuke pointed out, his eyes locked on his daughter. She reminded him so much of Itachi, gentle when he needed to be but certainly lethal.
“I hate you both.” A voice came from behind them, and Sasuke turned to see his wife, clearly mad for not being listen. “This is not gonna end well.”
“Sakura is totally right. You two are stupid.” Hinata told them, her eyes following her father, standing between her son and Sarada.
“Hinata, it is healthy for them to compete. Look at me and Sasuke, for example, we were rivals our entire life and here we are.” Naruto pointed out, an arm crossing around his wife’s shoulders.
“Yeah, you just forget to mention about the part where you two almost killed each other.” Sakura hissed at them.
“Boruto is not going to kill his girlfriend.” Sasuke retorted.
“Sarada is not, oh well, I hope she doesn't kill him.” Naruto frowned.
“This is not a good idea.” Konohamaru said next to Naruto, his heart pounding like crazy inside his chest.
“Konohamaru-kun, please.” Hanabi elbowed him. “Not you too.”
“It will be quick, Boruto won't even see what hit him.” Naruto stated with a shrug.
“Right, because you training my daughter to sign papers is going to help her to improve her taijutsu.” Sasuke rolled his eyes at his best friend.
“I taught her how to use anything to her advantage. He doesn't stand a chance.” Naruto firmly provoke and Hinata shot him a nasty glance.
“You don't even know how to do it for yourself, Naruto. Imagine teaching my daughter such thing.”
“Wait and see, teme.” Naruto gave him the thumbs up.
“This is not about my students, this is about you two trying to see who is the best master. Honestly, you are way worse than those two.” Konohamaru raised his voice, trying to get some authority in the matter, but Hanabi only raised an eyebrow at him while Naruto and Sasuke kept bickering each other about their pupils.
“Shut up, it is about to start.” Hanabi said, excited.
“The rules are: just taijutsu. No genjutsu, or any kind of jutsu. No sharingan. No karma. Just use your bodies.” Hiashi Hyuuga informed them, slowly.
Sarada's eyes were locked on her favorite pair of eyes in front of her. Boruto had that kind of shit-eating grin plastered on his face and she was eager to wipe it.
“No hard feelings.” She stated to her boyfriend.
“Yeah, I don't know about the hard part though.” He raised an eyebrow, making her roll her eyes at him.
“Start.” Hiashi flagged and then, everything became faster.
Both of them didn't waist anytime by waiting the other to attack, but at the first time, Boruto was faster. He dodged a punch of hers, it passed so close to his cheek and quickly went for her back, grabbing her for behind. One single moment that Boruto took the opportunity to breath was all Sarada needed to bring her arm up and knock his arm as hard as she could, and that in Sarada's monster strength, was a lot.
He stepped back, holding his arm and shaking to be sure she hadn't broken it.
“Not kidding, right?” He shot at her.
“Baby, I am just getting warm up.” She smiled and advanced again, punching him again and almost hitting him, but just as he was waiting for her, the blond didn't even wait before grabbing her arm with both of his hands and turning around so he could twist it in a painful angle. Sarada's jaw clenched in agony and their families in the room watched in the room in complete awe, at a loss of words.
“Sarada, move.” Sasuke shouted from somewhere and it distracted Boruto long enough to Sarada manage to lose herself from his grip and adjust her foot so she could kick behind his knees, making him fall against the floor.
Now, Sarada had both of his arms behind him, holding it tight. The way she was holding them it made impossible for Boruto to escape, and he was so close to open his mouth to give up, when his eyes met his father's and his old man did nothing but shook his head.
But Boruto knew that he was actually telling him not to give up.
“So?” Sarada was already smiling in victory, even though he couldn't see it.
“Didn't you master teach you not to sing about victory before you actually won?” Boruto answered back, panting.
“What?”
Sarada was so worried with his arms, she forgot to lock his legs either. With a sweep kick, Sarada fell against the ground while Boruto prepared a punch, hitting her shoulder hard.
The girl held her shoulder and whined, her eyes closed in pain. Boruto felt his heart stop beating as he rushed to help his girlfriend. By the corner of his eyes, he saw Sakura moving in their direction, but Sasuke stopped her with his arm.
Boruto wanted to scream at his master for not letting Sakura go ahead and cure Sarada, when he felt a punch on his stomach, knocking all the air out of his lungs. Boruto flew a few meters away and he found himself promptly on the ground on his back.
He didn't move, just lying there. His heart was still heavy from thinking he had actually hurt Sarada. The girl came over next to him and extended her hand to her boyfriend.
“Sorry about the little act from before. No hard feelings, right?” She grinned at him, but it vanished from her face once Boruto literally slapped her hand away, standing up and leaving everyone behind.
“Boruto!” Sarada screamed, but he didn't look at her, already closing the door of the training room.
“See? That was what I meant!” Sakura punched her husband on his shoulder, a little stronger than usual, but Sasuke just frowned.
“Did you teach my daughter how to lie?”
“No, I taught her to use things in her advantage. I told her Boruto would stop if he thought he had hurt her.” Naruto said, but there was an uncertain on his voice that wasn't there before. “Do you think I did the wrong thing?” He questioned his best friend, but Sakura and Hinata were glancing kunais over both of them.
“No, actually. He has to understand some things are not fair in this world, sadly. It was a good teaching moment for him.” Sasuke stretched his arm to squeeze Naruto's shoulder, calming him down.
Their wives just look at the scene, almost ready to beat the crap out of their husbands when Himawari called everyone to dinner. Sarada just shook her head and left, following the same direction Boruto had just done.
“Should we go after them?” Sakura questioned, insecure.
“No. They are going to figure it out.” Sasuke said with a gentle smile on his lips.
“If they break up, I am killing you two.” Hinata whispered, her eyes still looking where Boruto had just left
“Let’s go!” Himawari called them one more time.
-
Once he reached his room, Boruto pulled out his shirt and tossed it somewhere in the room in frustration. He bit his lower lip, trying to calm himself down when the door opened, and he didn’t even need to look to know who it was.
“Boruto…” Sarada entered the room, finding him in the dark and closing the door behind her. She could still spot his blond hair, weak against the few moonlight beams coming from the window. “I am sorry.”
But he still didn’t look at her, neither said anything.
“If I knew you were going to act like that, I wouldn’t have won.” She spilled to the darkness, trying to get any reaction from him.
“Are you even serious right now?” Boruto blurted out, his voice surprised her, especially because he was so close and she didn’t realize it. “Do you really think I am mad because you won? I couldn’t care less about it, Sarada. I am mad because you made me think I had hurt you! For one second, did you stop to wonder how does that made me feel? Like I actually hurt the most important thing in the world to me.”
He leaned forward so that he was resting one palm on the wall beside her head, his body hunched slightly so he could tower over her. Sarada suddenly felt unexpectedly small and vulnerable.
Sarada glanced up with shimmering black eyes that nearly glow themselves in the darkness. Hearing those words hurt her as much as she hurt him. “Boruto, I am not some porcelain doll. I won’t break easily. We always trained together, baby. You know how it goes, sometimes things happen. It’s not your fault.”
Sarada wrapped her arms around his shirtless middle, pulling him closer.
“I just can’t bear the thought of hurting you.” Boruto whispered on her ear, making her whole body shiver in response.
“You might. I lost count how many times I have look down at my legs and saw a purple bruise on my skin. It happens and it’s okay to happen. We need to be prepared to be the best and to fight against the best too. Don’t martyrize yourself for that. Okay?”
She tiptoed to capture his lips into a soft kiss, as Boruto felt the last drop of anger inside him vanish completely by her taste. The kiss began chaste. Naturally her lashes drifted to a close, allowing herself to be enveloped at their kiss. He sighed, trailing his tongue across her lips and easing into her mouth.
Then, they parted. “Okay?” She repeated herself, feeling her cheeks heat up, passion pouring not only her lips, but spreading a velvet warmth down her body.
“What would I do without you?” He caressed her cheek with his thumb, his eyes softening.
“I don’t know. Maybe train a little harder.” She teased, giggling. Her hands slid up his chest to wrap around his neck.
His skin was shining due the sweat from the fight before, but Sarada didn’t mind, it only helped to illuminate his deadly handsome smirk. “Idiot.” He muttered as he cupped both sides of her face, initiating a deep kiss.
Boruto’s hands found their war to her hips as she embraced his neck. Their moves were more in sync than the fight before and she wrapped his waist with her legs as he lifted her, decreasing the distance between their faces. Sarada removed her lips from his and let out a soft gasp onto his lips after the motion, her mouth kept latching onto his neck, very easily finding the sweetest spot, sucking hard and blowing her cold breath every time she came up for air.
He pressed her against the nearest wall, his head throwing back as he bit his lower lip to contain a moan that for sure would be loud as hell. Sarada sucked graciously as her hands travelled his chest, contouring his muscles with her nails and she could feel his whole body shivering at her touch. His cheeks blushed furiously as he noticed how hard her effect on him was, the need to hide his face was strong, but he didn’t move a muscle because Sarada’s plump lips were sucking glorious hickeys in his collar bones. He didn’t even care that he was going to have to explain the marks to anyone who saw them, he just loved the non-vocal communication that he belonged to her.
His hands were now moving up and down her thighs and Boruto couldn’t push the thought away that she knew exactly what to do to drive him crazy. With her mouth coming back to his, lips moving in perfect rhythm and actions matching after so much practice, she tugged on his hair, needing him closer to her. Boruto’s hand were now roaming up her sides, her skin blazing under his touch, small noises leaving her lips.
Suddenly, the realization someone could walk through that door at any moment became too real for Boruto. Both of their families were there and they could catch the two of them. He was too afraid of that particular scenario where Sasuke found them. Immediately, he pulled from her lips. “I can’t believe I’m saying it, but we shouldn’t.”
“Right.” Then she bit on his lower lip softly, tugging it back and tearing him from his thoughts. His hands slipped around, gripping her ass and bringing her closer to him. She rolled her hips into his, both of them letting out soft moans at the gentle friction. One particular moan that left Sarada’s mouth was way too loud for their own good and Boruto put her down on the ground, jerking back.
“Please, don’t tempt me. I’m serious. We’re at the Hyuuga compound, Sarada. Literally everyone here has a kekkei genkai. Including your father and my mother on the next room.” He pointed out, taking a step back to put some distance between them and he couldn’t even acknowledge at himself how hard it was.
“So?” Sarada took a step forward, and Boruto couldn’t do much except for swallowing hard.
“What do you mean so? So, I love my life and I don’t wanna die.” Boruto stretched his arm as he put a hand on her chest to keep her from decrease the distance, but he noticed it was a wrong move a little too late, when she grabbed his hand and made it travel her body. One he was very familiar with.
He took a deep breath and narrowed his eyes at her.
“Fiiiiiine.” She mouthed, crossing her arms across her chest, but the lust didn’t leave her semblance.
“Thank you.” He muttered back, sighing deeply as he watched her move directly to the door.
Once she realized he wasn’t following her, she hesitated and glanced over her shoulder. “Aren’t you coming?”
“Yes, but I need some time.” Boruto grabbed back his shirt and put it on.
“Oh.” Sarada felt the heat flushing over her entire face, trying to keep her stare to eye level but she couldn’t help to look quickly to his pants.
“Yes.” He repeated himself as he sat on the bed, which only made things worse since the budge on his pants became very noticeable.
“I will wait.” She said, leaning back on the wall.
Boruto frowned. “You’re the cause of it, Sarada.” The giggle that left her lips filled the room as he stood up, walking around the room in circles, flexing his legs muscles.
“What are you doing?” She frowned.
“Trying to send blood to my legs as I walk, it has to come from somewhere.” He explained, stopping when he felt dizzy.
“Can’t you think about something else?” Sarada suggested, holding his arm to help him regain balance.
“I’m trying, but the scene of you grinding on me is way too vivid to ignore. It won’t leave my head.” He poked her nose, making her scrunch in the process.
“At least, this is something girls don’t have to deal with. You can look at me and you wouldn’t imagine how turn on I am right now.” She pointed out as Boruto jolted over her, his eyes narrowing as he blushed at her words.
“Sarada.” Boruto hissed at her direction. “Not. Helping.”
“Fine, I’ll meet you there.” Things would’ve been better if Boruto didn’t catch the look of rapture look on her face, she was completely checking him out and he felt his blood pooling in a southerly direction once again.
He thought he was going to explode right there. His tone was husky when he opened his mouth. “Actually, my parents are here, my sister too, that means my house is empty.” The suggestion was implied on the sentence.
Sarada couldn’t hold back a smile playing on her lips. “That sounds like a plan.”
His finger came up to swipe at her bottom lip, as the door slid open, reveling two pair of blue eyes sparkling against the dark.
“Nii-chan, Sarada-chan. Glad to see you both are good. Mom and Aunt Sakura send me here to make sure you guys weren’t killing each other.” Himawari said, as Boruto and Sarada startled. Using his girlfriend as a shield to his erection, Boruto pulled her in front of him and wrapped his arms around her from behind, resting his chin on her shoulder, placing a soft kiss to the side of her neck.
Sarada just bit her lower lip when he felt something pressing hard against her.
“I wouldn’t use the world kill-ouch Sarada.” He started, but Sarada elbowed him, shooting him a nasty glance.
“I hope there’s still food on the table, Hima.” Her voice tone was so normal, it didn’t even seem she was speaking dirty to him like five minutes ago.
“Let’s go.” Boruto let Sarada walk on the front with his sister next to her. He caught her looking over her shoulder a few times, and even though Boruto didn’t quite know the reason, he still blushed anyway.
Once they reached the room where all the families were gathered, Boruto didn’t think he could actually run so fast to finally seat. Sitting next to him, Sarada put a hand on her mouth to contain a laugh.
His father was in front of him, with Sasuke right beside him. Sakura was placed next to her husband as Hinata. Konohamaru and Hanabi was sitting at the same side of them, but Sarada was between the two of them and Boruto. He was good. Well, at least, for that moment.
Of course, the whole motion of the both of them didn’t go unnoticed to anyone on the table.
Especially Sasuke.
“Boruto, what’s that on your neck?” Sasuke’s eyes pierced his soul and Boruto felt like throwing up right on his father. He hadn’t checked his neck before leaving the room, but he could still remember perfect a pair of soft lips on his skin.
“I fell.” Boruto lied, avoiding to look at anyone in particular.
DAMN YOU, SARADA UCHIHA.
“On someone’s mouth?” Naruto questioned, his eyes widened in shock as Sasuke’s eyes darted to his daughter, who was staring in surprise at her boyfriend’s neck.
Her eyes met a pair exactly like hers. “What? He was mad at me. I had to use things in my advantage.”
“Sarada…” Naruto and Boruto warned at the same time, as Sakura laughter filled the room. Boruto thought that phrase itself was his death sentence and he got a little relief when he saw his father-in-law was focused on his father with the most threatening glance he had ever seen.
Boruto was sure if it was for him, he’d have died just by his looks.
“Please, Sasuke. Last time you two fought you two drained an entire river, maybe not fighting inside my house.” Hinata stated, amusement laced on her tone as Hanabi was doing her best not to smile. Konohamaru, on the other hand, had lost the battle and was smiling widely at his students, shocked at how cheeky both were. Himawari was the only one flustered on the table, looking directly at her food.
“Oi.” Sarada whispered at him, looking around to make sure no one heard her, but everyone was focused at Sasuke’s screams at Naruto, saying something about he never letting him teach his daughter a thing. “At least, it’s down.” She blinked, glancing rapidly over his lap and over to his face again as he shook his head.
He didn’t verbalize the motive to her, but somehow, he was aware she knew. After seeing the way Sasuke looked over his father, he doubted it would ever be up again.
461: The Beginning of the War! Ace and Whitebeard's Past!
Tumblr media
Yeah, I can see why Ace crumbled and joined him.
Really enjoyed the reveal of Ace’s past and how he achieved his infamy. And it turns out Ace was an infamous, powerful pirate in his own right before he joined Whitebeard. That, I was not expecting.
Loved that part at the start of 461 when Luffy was chatting to Ivankov and pulled a Hagrid. Ivankov was wondering if Dragon would show up to the execution because he was certain, absolutely certain that Dragon would not allow the WG to kill his own son.
Luffy, the oblivious rubber child, said within earshot of the entire breakout crew: “Wut? No, Dragon is MY dad. Ace’s dad is Gol D. Roger. He got the cool one, eh? Wait... I shouldn’t have said that. I really should not have said that.”
Oh, Luffy.
Whitebeard
Then, finally, after I don’t know how many episodes of waiting, the main event arrived.
@mrkashkiet asked if I had any predictions on Whitebeard’s powers. I said my first predictions were for a fruit power. Then, when I learned about Shanks and his lack of fruit, I figured maybe Whitebeard would be one of those guys who is so strong he doesn’t need a fruit. If Whitebeard did have a fruit, since he is a big, physically powerful guy, I guessed he would have earth or earthquake powers to compliment the muscles.
Argh, I was so close!
Tumblr media
Whitebeard’s entrance was understated but even that showed his supreme confidence in his power. The other two ships popped up beside his, revealing he had brought all fourteen of his commanders with him. Then, in deathly silence, came the chink, chink, chink of someone slowly, deliberately ascending a flight of stairs (there’s those stairs again. Might start shipping Oda x Stairs).
Of course it was Whitebeard. I cheered.
I loved the casual threats he sent Sengoku’s way.  “It’s been a while. You’d better be telling me that my adorable, fiery son is alright?” Sengoku was sweat dropping like he was out at Nandos with the lads and regretted slathering on all the Vusa sauce to show off.
Then Whitebeard turned to Ace and was like, “Yeah, just gimme a sec, son.”
I thought, such bravado from the whitest of beards. But it was not mere bravado.
Whitebeard built up power and (this was so badass I’m still not over it) punched the air so hard it cracked. I wasn’t sure what was going on at first. I figured it was lightning (but then that had already been done with Enel) but Sengoku kindly explained the technique. Whitebeard has eaten the Tremor Tremor Fruit (not sure I got that right). It causes sea quakes! Not earthquakes. Argh, I was so close.
Then the action cut to flashback.
I have never welcomed a flashback as much. Come to think of it, I always enjoy One Piece flashbacks. Up until now, they’ve always served a plot purpose or as a reminder to a viewer (like remember when Luffy beat this guy two hundred episodes ago?) This is in contrast to something like Naruto. If you’ve seen it, how many times did you see Naruto having that sad day on the swings? Exactly.
The flashbacks revealed that Ace has ticked off some awesome boxes, just like Luffy.
Ace’s Past
Tumblr media
The flashback opened with a young, fresh-faced Ace, waving goodbye to little Luffy. Almost immediately, Ace was causing chaos. He founded the Spades Pirates (I see what you did there, Oda) and tore the place up to the point he got himself into the OP News.
Garp was mad. He wanted Ace to become an accountant.
Whitebeard also read the OP News. Sage old man that he is, he shook his head. These young whippersnappers are too hasty. Whitebeard revealed  that Ace even refused a request to join the Shichibukai (now that’s really something. I wonder if Sengoku had his suspicions about who Ace was. Maybe Garp was behind the request, subtly prompting the Marines to enlist Ace because it would keep him safe?)
But that wasn’t all. Foolhardy young Ace went to visit Shanks.
Tumblr media
He dragged his crew with him up Caradhras a snowy mountain. Spade Crew expressed doubts because this was The Shanks they were crashing in on, uninvited. But Ace was like, “It’ll be fine, stop bitching!”
Ace rocks up with his crew and Shanks was not in Saving Tiny Children Mode, but in Badass Mode. He wasn’t too keen on Ace impinging on his chill time until Ace said, “Nah, I’m not here to fight. I want to say thanks for saving my little bro.” It’s amazing what mentioning Luffy’s name does to Shanks. He thawed immediately and it was party time.
The reveal that Ace wanted to become Pirate King when he was younger was unexpected. I totally assumed that he had grown up hating Roger and everything he stood for, so that when Whitebeard came along as a substitute father, he latched on.
The reality was different. It took a long time for Ace to come around. Now that I think about it, I like that much better. Ace gave up his dream to be the Pirate King but it took a long time, a lot of convincing and it was his own decision, taken after a great deal of thought and only when trust, mutual respect and a real relationship was established. Good.
Tumblr media
I love that Ace fought Jimbei for five days. No idea why Jimbei felt obligated to screen Whitebeard’s appointments like his secretary, but it was cool to get a feel for how tough Jimbei is as an opponent.
I felt sorry for Ace when after he collapsed, done with Jimbei, Whitebeard sailed up out of the mist and was like, “So I heard one of you was looking for a fight?”
Exhaused, Ace said, “Yes, that would be me. Run, crew!” But Whitebeard was just too strong. Luckily, Whitebeard had taken a liking to Ace (maybe he saw Roger in Ace and suspected?). He extended a massive hand and said, “I like you. You are cheeky. You are valuable. Become my fiery son.”
It was a hard pass from Ace, but he woke up on the Moby Dick. He was not happy. Ace tried (hilariously) to assassinate Whitebeard over a hundred times and got reckt.
He met Thatch, the 4th Division Commander who came a cropper courtesy of Blackbeard (rip, Thatch). Thatch was nice. He gave Ace some good advice: “You can either get off this ship and start again, or stay and wear Whitebeard’s mark.”
Ace stayed. He made such a name for himself that the Whitebeards started talking about making him 2nd Division Commander. Ace was like, “Who, me? But there are people there who’ve been around longer.”
One of those people was Blackbeard!
That was another interesting thing to learn, that Teach was one of the original Whitebeard crew members. It makes his betrayal all the more disturbing. Ace was sitting casually, with him, worrying if BB would be offended if he went for 2nd Division commander. Blackbeard said: “Don’t worry...
Tumblr media
Technically true, but also a such a huge, bare-faced omission of truth it’s equivalent to a lie. Sneaky, evil Teach.
The moment Whitebeard finally won over Ace fully was when Ace knocked at his door one night and told him about his heritage. Instead of being angry that his old rival’s son had infiltrated his crew, Whitebeard was cool about it. “That doesn’t matter. We’re all family.” Whitebeard didn’t care that Ace was Roger’s son. He cared that Ace was his son. Excuse me while I dab my eyes with a nearby handkerchief.
Then Thatch found the Yami Yami no Mi and it all went to shit, complete with black and white “is that a dagger I see before me” flashback with Teach looking demonic and pleased.
Ace was distraught when he found out. He took Teach’s betrayal personally. As Teach’s commander, Teach was his responsibility. Worst of all, Teach had disgraced Whitebeard, Ace’s father’s, name. Whitebeard tried to stop him, said, “This is an exception. I have a bad feeling about this,” probably knowing what fruit Teach had stolen. But Ace was too wrapped up in grief and anger to listen.
Ace knows that now. He admitted to causing the omnishambles that is about to kick off. He should have listened. Why did they come?
But Whitebeard said he told Ace to go? Wtf? I don’t get that yet, but I hope he will explain himself in 462.
Good episode, though. 10/10 would watch again.
Tumblr media
During a late night father-son chat, Whitebeard reveals the secret of how he sculpts his facial hair.
Dixxy vs One Piece Chapter 902: End Roll
IT’S TIME.
First, some ground rules. Where possible I’m going to use the official ViZ translation for chapters. That means we’ll probably get to revisit this whole affair on Monday when the chapter officially drops. Stephen Paul has been THE most trusted source for One Piece translations going back to well before he was officially working with ViZ so where comparison is available, that’s the translation I’m going with. Also, like, if he really needs to I believe he actually does have a contact at Japanese Shonen Jump if there’s something he doesn’t know how to translate in emergency situations. So in regards to dialog in 902 I’m going to take everything with a grain of salt until the official release.
So I’m going to focus largely on THAT subject and ignore most of the rest of it for now. If y’all are good and get me lots of likes and reblogs maybe I’ll do a deeper dive into the rest of the chapter but yeah let’s talk about SanPu.
So, if you’re part of shipping culture in the online One Piece fandom and you just got back from being under a rock or on the moon for the last two months or so, here’s a quick visual representation of what the whole Luffy Nami Sanji Pudding ship war discourse looks like right now:
Tumblr media
To recap the last few chapters, Pudding made some sort of last request of Sanji that we, the readers, didn’t get to see until 902 leaked online early this morning or late last night or whatever time it was in your particular time zone. In short? This:
Tumblr media
Yup. A SanPu kiss happened.
So on the one hand there’s probably some concerned Sanji x Nami shippers out there and there are definitely some Luffy x Nami shippers who are acting like total fucking assholes.
“Hurray! People who have never done any wrong to me or my loved ones are potentially really upset and unable to enjoy something that brought them a lot of happiness! This is a great day for me!”
(I mean, look, I get that schadenfreude is a thing for a reason but this isn’t it. If this is you, fuck off, you’re not some champion of your OTP, you’re a fucking asshole).
So let’s break this down.
Is SaNa sunk/SanPu canon?
Short answer? No and no...maybe.
While it’s very clear that Pudding still has feelings for Sanji, I don’t think Sanji returns them. Okay, yes, he’s gone all heart-eyes for her but, well, this is Sanji we’re talking about, of course he did that when a pretty girl kissed him, it’d be like asking Luffy to not stuff his face at a Meat Buffet that’s just not where his character is right now. But let’s take a look at him from a few chapters ago in 896:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sanji’s pretty ready to part ways with her here. And once Pudding snips out the memory of said kiss:
Tumblr media
He’s confused as to why Pudding ran away but he’s not chasing after her and there’s really nothing in the chapter showing him upset over not being with her right now. The only one who’s upset is Pudding.
This can be read a couple of ways - it leaves the door open for SanPu later if she comes back into the fold (more on that in a bit), or this was a bittersweet ending for their story. This, by the way, is one of the things I REALLY want to see the ViZ translation for, because the “song” going through the chapter seems to have multiple interpretations floating around with varying degrees of finality to this situation, which leaves things in even more flux.
Here’s the thing: SanPu hasn’t become canon (which means that, no, SaNa didn’t sink). That doesn’t mean it won’t later on, but at the moment it just isn’t. Sanji doesn’t have feelings for Pudding and doesn’t remember the kiss, nor was his reaction particularly strong. Pudding is distraught right now, sure, but we really don’t know what’s next for her. Is she going to try and leave the island and follow in Lola’s footsteps? Is Big Mom going to try and use her for another wedding plot? Is she going to get on a bus, go to the big city, and try to make it in show business? I don’t know and neither do you.
“Sanji and Pudding kissed that means they’re married now!”
No it doesn’t.
“But they kissed! They’re man and wife now!”
...no, no they really aren’t.
A wedding ceremony and a marriage are technically two different things. A wedding is a ceremony, whereas a marriage is a legal contract. Marriage doesn’t actually take place until both parties sign a contract and it’s officiated by someone with the legal authority to do so, usually a religious leader like a priest, a rabbi, or an imam, or a non-religious affiliated justice of the peace.
But that’s the real world and probably not something Oda put thought into for the manga. All right, I’ll give you that, but it still doesn’t matter. Let’s say that in the One Piece world all that matters is the ceremony.
Well, the ceremony was never actually finished and the kiss took place long after the wedding party disbanded. I’m not even sure the priest is still alive. Whether you like it or not or whether you think it helps your ship or not, the alley was not a wedding and no marriage has taken place.
That being said this feels like something that might come up in an SBS but I’m guessing Oda is going to say “no”.
Conflicting Ships - Luffy x Nami vs Sanji x Nami vs Sanji
This is one I think we all have feet of clay in regards to, but if your ship relies on the instability of another ship that’s not really a sign you have a lot of confidence in your ship and you can’t enjoy it unless it has at least a CHANCE of becoming canon. This is why I’m skeptical of Sanji x Pudding fans - I really do think a lot of them (not all of them, mind you) are just Luffy x Nami fans eager to get their biggest threat out of the picture without killing him. I’m sure there are plenty of Luffy x Hancock “fans” who want them same thing, except they’re actually Sanji x Nami or Zoro x Nami fans. Guys, that’s probably not a healthy attitude to have when it comes to shipping.
“So you’re trying to say that your reasons for not liking Sanji x Pudding have nothing to do with Sanji x Nami?” What part of “I think we all have feet of clay” did you not understand? Yeah, it’s one of the reasons I’m not big on Sanji x Pudding - I find it difficult to ship characters together if one or more characters in the pairing have a canon partner. I don’t know that I NEED Sanji x Nami to be canon but I’d be pretty sad if a conflicting pairing actually happened, with varying degrees of being okay or angry depending on the execution and characters involved. I mean I’d even be mad if Sanji and Nami happened and it was done really, really badly.
This is why I think the best case scenario for all parties involved is One Piece ending without any of the big ships becoming canon, probably excluding Usopp x Kaya (which, while it’s KIND OF a forgone conclusion isn’t very heavily shipped) and possibly excluding Robin and Franky (who seem to have moved onto Dorky Middle Aged Married Couple Who Like to Embarrass Their Kids while no one was looking). Why? Because unless one of the pertinent parties is dead, that leaves everyone free to draw whatever conclusion they want.
Like, do you have any idea how much happier the Bleach and Naruto fandoms would be if Kubo and Kishimoto didn’t canonize any pairings? A LOT. Yeah some fans would be salty they didn’t get confirmation, sure, but they’d be free to think whatever they wanted happened after end of series.
Imagine if One Piece ends with something like Luffy, now the Pirate King, is on the ship with the other Straw Hats (now all having achieved their dreams) and he’s sitting on his special seat and he points to the horizon and he’s like “okay guys let’s go that way and have another adventure!” and everyone else is like “YEAH!” and then they coup de burst into the sunset and the words “The End” appear on that very last page. Luffy and Nami fans are free to think that their king and queen got together. Sanji and Nami fans are free to think the cook will continue to dote on his angel. Sanji and Pudding fans are free to think that Sanji returned to Pudding to marry her for real this time. Etc, etc.
Unfinished Business
That’s another thing about this chapter and this arc as a whole - I can’t think of another arc that has THIS many obvious dangling plot threads that really feel like they should have been answered before the arc ended. Like, yes, there are other arcs that have dangling plot threads but many of those really feel like things that were blatantly meant to come up in future arcs, like the threads from Fishman Island. But for THIS arc?
- What’s the deal with the Three Eye Tribe and will Pudding’s third eye have its true awakening? - What’s the backstory behind Germa 66 and that story Judge was talking about? - Speaking of Judge, what’s the deal with his eyebrows? - Speaking of Judge AGAIN, what went down between him and Vegapunk? - Why did that one homie recognize Pedro? - Is anything going to happen to all those people/creatures in the prison library? - Why doesn’t Lola realize Big Mom wants her dead? - Why didn’t Pudding ever get an Oda box? Yeah, that NEVER happened but we got them for like, Smoothie’s underlings and those decutuplets. The fuck, Oda? - What went down between Snack and Urogue and how did he escape? - Did Chiffon and Bege get away? - What the fuck happened to Casear Clown? - What’s going to happen when Big Mom finds out about the Tamatebako box?
...and probably more I’m not thinking of. Thing is, that’s a LOT of dangling plot threads for one arc, a lot of which feel like they could or should have been addressed here. Thing is, they probably will be addressed because you may have noticed there’s one big plot thread I didn’t list above:
- Big Mom and Elbaf
I’ve been on this particular bus for a while but it occurs to me a lot of my fellow fans didn’t think that was going to happen or at least didn’t want it to happen. But when you look at everyone that happened between Big Mom and Elbaf and how much of it we’ve seen ON PANEL, it would be REALLY WEIRD for her to not make an appearance on Elbaf. Let’s do another list:
- Murdered one of the two elder giant heroes - ATE Mother Carmel and a bunch of innocent orphans - Hey look a bunch of the giant kids from Big Mom’s flashback are part of Harudin’s crew now I bet that’s important - Whatever the hell happened between Lola and Loki
The only other option I can think of if a return to Fishman Island since, well, we kind of need to go back there at some point (Luffy’s gotta destroy it somehow, remember?) and thanks to the Sun Pirates and Praline I wouldn’t be surprised if she decides to take out some of her anger there. Plus everything with Big Mom actually STARTED back in Fishman Island. That’s the first time Luffy crossed her, it’s where we met some of her people (including Pudding...kind of), and yeah that would probably a believable scenario for the island to be destroyed, I guess.
Oda is Still Drawing Sanji Showing Affection for Nami
Okay, granted, we haven’t seen a Sanji “love cook” moment with Nami since he got back on the ship, but there still is stuff Oda’s drawn very recently that would be REALLY WEIRD if the intention was to make SanPu canon.
Tumblr media
If 902 is the start of canon Sanji x Pudding, then this is a REALLY weird thing for Oda to draw, even if it’s not canon. Like, REALLY weird.
Oda DIDN’T Draw Pudding’s Interior Thoughts When Nami Was Around
So we saw a bunch of Pudding’s thoughts during key scenes during the arc, including some between her and Sanji,
Tumblr media
But something that was kind of weirdly absent? Anything involving Nami. Such as the bridal carry, which we saw Pudding react to, and when Sanji returned to the Sunny the first time and freaked out when Nami hugged him.
If Pudding has feelings for Sanji, she should have reacted to these incidents but we don’t know how she reacted to them. That feels intentionally left out. Now, granted, it’s probably Pudding (correctly) assuming that Sanji has feelings for Nami, but I think this was intentionally left alone.
Why?
Because having Pudding point these things out would strongly hint at Sanji x Nami as end game, which Oda doesn’t want to do at this stage of the game for one of two reasons. Either that isn’t his intention or it’s way to early to show his hand. Both are valid reasons to not do that, by the way.
Are we sure Oda even likes Pudding all that much?
Here’s an SBS question and answer from volume 87.
Tumblr media
I’m not sure Oda would say something like that about a character he plans to pair up with one of his main characters. Again, weird choice if that’s the case.
Okay I’m sure I’ll get some responses to this and I’d love to clarify/discuss in the responses and reblogs. But for the moment...
Conclusion
Blech these are never easy to write.
The short answer to this whole thing is that I don’t think Sanji x Nami fans have reason to throw in the towel, nor do I think Sanji x Pudding fans (and by extension Luffy x Nami fans) really have anything to “celebrate”. Right now it feels like an ending, but since a lot of the Big Mom stuff is unresolved the door on Pudding isn’t closed...but I’m not really sure what would be on the other side.
