A grand retinue accompanied Prince Oberyn Martell and his wife Nala on their journey north to attend the wedding of Lord Stark's eldest son. The journey was replete with delightful surprises and, regrettably, some less pleasant ones. One of their travel days found them lodged in an inn nestled amidst the forested lands of the North. The weather was cold and crisp, the air dry and biting, causing Oberyn to grumble about the layers of clothing encasing his form. Nala found his discomfort amusing—this man is averse to decency.

As they were enjoying their meal in the inn, a trio of golden-haired men strode in, their disdainful expressions evident as they cast disparaging glances at the other patrons. Murmuring curses under their breath, they took a seat at a nearby table, much to the discomfort of those around them. Nala sensed the tension in the air, recognizing the unmistakable look of Lannisters. She knew all too well her husband's scorn for them. Desperate to diffuse the situation, she attempted to divert his attention away from them, whispering softly, “My love, look at me,” noticing his gaze fixed upon them with obvious contempt.

The Lannister men, oblivious to her attempt to diffuse the tension, noticed her caress on his thigh and exchanged mocking remarks amongst themselves. “Why does such beauty consort with that Dornish bastard?” one of them jeered, his laughter echoing loudly in the room. “This whore should try to get with a real cock... a Lannister one,” another added, patting his bulge and leering at her. “Just give him a shaved goat and an olive oil bottle and be done with it,” the third chimed in before all three joined in uproarious laughter.

Despite his efforts to conceal it, a smirk tinged with bitterness adorned his face, masking the fury that simmered beneath the surface.

With graceful poise, he rose from his seat, his hand drifting toward the dagger secured at his hip—a weapon fashioned in the likeness of two intertwined vipers; its smooth, golden surface gleaming in the dim light of the inn. Slowly and deliberately, he approached their table, his gaze locking onto the perpetrator who had called his wife a whore.

Oberyn's tongue clicked disapprovingly as he addressed the men, his tone dripping with mockery. “Do you know why the world despises a Lannister?” he quipped, his words laden with scorn. “You believe your wealth, your lions, and your gilded pride make you superior to all.” The Lannister men exchanged smug glances, sharing a condescending chuckle amongst themselves. One of the trio stealthily reached for his sword, attempting to draw it from its sheath without detection. Yet, unbeknownst to them, he noticed—he always does.

“May I tell you a secret?” Oberyn continued, his voice carrying a hint of amusement. “You're not a golden lion. You're just a pink little man who is far too slow on the draw.” With a swift motion, he unsheathed his dagger and plunged it into the hand of the man who had insulted his wife, the same hand he had earlier used to pat his cock. Piercing between the carpals of that hand, it now lay on the table. The man let out a guttural wail, paralyzed in his place as the dagger twisted amidst flesh, bone, and veins.

“When I pull my blade, your friend starts bleeding,” Oberyn stated calmly, a smirk playing on his lips. “Quite a lot, I'm afraid. So many veins in the wrist.” He observed the man writhing in pain before turning his gaze back to the other Lannister. “He'll live if you get him help straight away,” he added mockingly, his eyes glinting with mischief. “Decisions,” Oberyn remarked, his head tilting slightly as his gaze shifted to the bleeding man again. “And when you speak of a dornish princess—my wife—you will address her as ‘your highness,’” he continued, his tone carrying a dangerous edge. “Lest you wish for me to sever your tongue at its root.”

He withdrew his dagger from the man’s hand, the Dornish soldiers surrounding him, swords and spears at the ready. One of them addressed him, “What shall we do with them, Your Highness?”

“Nothing,” Oberyn replied calmly, wiping the blood from his dagger with the end of his shawl. "I reckon they've learned a lesson or two about manners from the Dornish, and I expect they'll find their own way out.” With a dismissive wave, he turned to walk toward Nala, who stood frozen with fear, wide-eyed, and breathing shakily.

“Apologies, my love,” he said tenderly, encircling his arms around her waist and pressing a soft kiss to her lips. Nestling her gently in his embrace, as though she were the most delicate of blossoms.

“How in the Seven Hells would I engage in such forms, Oberyn?" she retorted, her tone a blend of amusement and exasperation, unsure whether to marvel at his wit or roll her eyes at his audacity.

He chuckled, unfazed, and resumed his meal, prompting her to shake her head in bemusement before following suit, both indulging in their food as if nothing out of the ordinary had occurred.

Oh I ADORE the idea of a Bumble/Star Flower dynamic. I always imagine Star Flower to have this sweet and soft exterior to her that allows her to manipulate Clear Sky, but is in actuality a cold, solemn, purpose-minded cat who takes no shit. Her geniunely taking interest in this sweetheart kitty who's full of confidence (and probably hates Clear Sky's guts as much as she does LMFAO) is so intriguing pleaaaaase tell me more ❤️

At the moment it's just sort of indulgence because I think their dynamic is interesting, so I haven't completely leaned onto it yet. I probably will though.

What I like a lot about them is that they're so different, yet so alike. They're both victims of their canon's misogyny, in opposite ways. It killed Bumble and prevented Star Flower from being what she could fully be.

In BB, Star Flower was the high priestess of One Eye, in one way, a daughter in others. He was violent and controlling. She was charming and capable. She did exactly what he wanted from her, and she enjoyed being his devotee. They loved each other like a parent and child, and for him, she would stay blind to the pain in the world.

Because she KNOWS that what she does hurts and kills people. Clear Sky isn't the first cat she's skilfully bled out slowly. But when her God is involved, this is not a terrified, screaming person on an altar. It's meat to be prepared for her beloved father.

And as long as she has One Eye to serve, she doesn't have to think about the humanity that is part of her new form. In a way, she's the same extinct medicinal flowers she used to be, before she took a shape as a mortal. She's his treatment. His bouquet. The flowers at a funeral.

And that's a kind of toxic dynamic, too, yknow. To love someone who merely offers you the simplicity of being their butcher.

How could she ever have prepared for his DEATH? To be SEPARATED from him? She is like an angel separated from her lord, whose one purpose has been destroyed.

And then she seduces Clear Sky, the treacherous beast who betrayed them. She'll bleed him like a goat, and be reunited with her father. And even more--

And after that, she can't go back to SkyClan. Of course.

When she speaks to Bumble for the first times, Star Flower is still threatening betrayals. Insisting, chuckling, that she's done Terrible Things and will do them again.

And Bumbs clocks immediately, "You're doing that to get a rise out of me and it won't work because no one would tease their secret evil scheme."

Bumble is going through a lot right now, actually. Thunderstar is getting good at speaking Parkmew on his own, now. Sparrow Heart, her daughter, betrayed her to join SkyClan in the pursuit of power. Her son Pebble Heart goes by Owl Eyes these days, and he's a big strong warrior who doesn't need her. It seems like no one needs her.

She talks a big game about her self-worth, but a lot of it is bluster and self-assurance. She'll insist she's the BEST AND COOLEST CAT THIS SIDE OF THE EVERYWHERE but she's hiding a LOT of guilt, none of it deserved.

I feel like Star Flower is fascinated by this. The dishonesty here. How Bumble presents herself as boisterous and over-confident, but hides a great sadness within it.

Ahh, Bumble wants a God to serve too, doesn't she? Everyone does. Is a Clan a sort of God to serve? ...yes, this is making sense.

For Bumble to Star Flower... she's brand new, an outsider just like she was once. A very strange one with strange humor, who exists at a time when her life is undergoing a lot of changes. She likes the way Star Flower is so interested in her. She enjoys showing her around the territory.

God, sometimes it just... it reminds her of Turtle Heart, you know? Before Tom came. When it was just them, and they were young and they were learning all these wonderful things together.

It never got better, really, losing her lover and her best friend. She's just been GO GO GOing for years, GO out of this Clan, GO get your kittens, GO open negotiations. It wasn't until NOW that she's really had time to process the loss of Turtle Heart.

And that's sort of where they are, now. There's not really an end in sight, they're just very involved and interested in each other. Not quite courting, but not NOT courting either. Sappho and her acquaintance lmao.

What would things even look like if Dabi fell in love? I don’t want to sound cheesy but I mean…his whole life for years now has been pushing for revenge. Getting back at his father, going out in a literal blaze of glory. He doesn’t seem to expect to survive past that point. And why would he want to?

Despite from my personal opinions, I’ll be keeping this as canon as possible, based on my analysis on his character, I’ve been studying this man’s thoughts and behavior for 3 years more than I studied for college lmfao

Since the day he was born, Dabi has dedicated his life to Endeavor: until the age of 13, when he was still Touya, he dedicated his life to make Endeavor proud. Then when Touya died and Dabi was born, he dedicated his life to make Endeavor suffer one day. So it’s easy to say, his life goals and purpose were always for Endeavor, his father totally consumed his life for worse.

So imagine, just imagine how his world would turn upside down when for the first time in his life, he sees another purpose in life which isn’t Endeavor..

It’s all very new to him, all his life Dabi’s emotions went around Endeavor, and for now it’s all about the hatred and revenge. But when you come in his life, and his cold heart starts feeling new things, he panicks and is extremely confused. Because he has never experienced something as good as this, the warmth on his chest when you smile at him cause when was the last time someone gave Dabi a genuine smile? People would fear and hate him, or see him as weak and useless like Endeavor did back then.

Dabi can’t help the way excitement fills his body when you praise him for how strong he is, how good he is leading things as the lieutenant of the Violet Regiment, how skilled he is at coming up with new strategies to bring the heroes down. You truly admire his intelligence and strength, and other people might too, but he likes to hear it from you.

Whenever he makes decisions or does things, his mind goes to you; what would you think if he did this? What would you say if he did that? What would you think if he wore this today?

That’s how Dabi is when he loves someone too much, he dedicates everything to them, he acts based on what his favorite/ beloved person would think about him. He did it with Endeavor back then, now he does it with you.

And let me tell you, he hates it at the same time, makes him feel so stupid and vulnerable cause who even are you to make him feel this way? How dare you? He has goals to achieve, a purpose, and you’re just.. there. Distracting him with that cute face of yours he wants to burn down and kiss so bad at the same time.

Dabi’s love is pure, when he loves someone he stays loyal to them, he has no ill intentions, he’d never use them for any selfish purpose. He knows how it feels like to be used for a selfish purpose and then tossed away when you didn’t fulfill it. He knows how it feels like to have your emotions and thoughts ignored, to be neglected by people you love, to be seen as unimportant and undesirable. Dabi would rather die than treat you in the same way, though he fears that you’d be the one to treat him like that instead.

Dabi has major trust issues, don’t expect him to open his heart to you that easily, he has difficulties to put his emotions into words, even more to express them to somebody else, because he knows nobody would care. He grew up this way, holding everything inside, inferior towards others, always a lone wolf and doing things on his own.

He thinks he’d be weak if he spilled his emotions, we see that even as a child Touya hated to cry because he felt vulnerable and facing his own emotions was something he wanted to avoid. So his tear ducts burned down.

Dabi feels everything too much, since he can’t cry when he feels overwhelmed, he smiles instead, says the most vile things ever known to man, he acts pretty well and makes others think that he indeed is an emotionless monster. If at some point you end up hurting him, I see him hurting you back way worse, he’ll crack and make you hate him even more on purpose.

Dabi never gave it a thought to live long, his body is dying but he keeps going only for one purpose: to leave his mark on this rotten world.

He lives in agony, knowing that his goals would send him to death when deep down he also wants to stay with you for the rest of his life, you made him see life colorful for the first time, and he doesn’t want to let this opportunity go. So here would be two endings; a tragedy, Dabi gives you the last kiss before he goes to war, and you give him your last kiss when you hold his burnt dying body in your arms.

Or the happy ending; Dabi manages to live, his body in a terrible condition but he still lives.

Dabi in love would be someone that would totally die for you. But he’d also do something much harder, Dabi would live for you as well.

modern!poets + driving

i cant stop thinking abt these 😭😭 HELP

ugh u definitely know neil is never ever going to drive anywhere ever. got his license first out of all the poets, but absolutely refuses to drive places. would rather walk 45 min in the sweltering hot sun to get to the park than drive 10 min. he's trying to prove something but no one rlly knows what LMFAO

+ asks everyone for rides during the peak of summer cause he nearly passed out from a heat stroke while walking once

todd vs driving his mom's old minivan. that hunk of metal is busted beyond normal wear and tear but todd is forever convinced that his car is near mint condition. always takes 10 extra minutes to park bc his car is so fucking big 😭😭 designated driver for group trips bc his car is the only one that can fit everyone

+ he always says "i told u so" when his car is actually useful

ever seen one of those cars whipping it through a parking lot narrowly missing several small children? yeah that's definitely charlie. only knows where the gas pedal is, absolutely no breaking or slowing down. "bad drivers never miss their turn" is what charlie embodies. at least his car is always nice and cold though to distract you from your impending death via his driving

+ silly drink guy, always has a silly drink in his cup holder (sometimes it's a week old, nearly moldy starbucks matcha drink)

pitts is the most careful driver of the year, always at speed limit, follows code of conduct to a tee despite everyone in the car hating him for it. cares wayyy too much abt the opinion of whoever is in the passenger seat; will let the passengers dictate the ac settings, aux cord, windows up/down is all up to the passengers, he is just driver.

+ HIS SEAT SETTINGS ARE SO WILD. he's siting with his spine perfectly straight, head hunched slightly over the wheel to ""see the entire road""

knox took his test seven times. Seven. passing is passing though. even though charlie is an objectively bad driver, knox is somehow always worse. first one to get into a crash & first one to total his car. no one rlly knows how or why he is so bad at driving...who gave him a mfing car PLS

+ has a "hype" playlist for driving, except he's banned from playing it while driving bc during both accidents he's been in, the playlist was at the crime scene.

world's biggest mystery is cameron's car bc how can someone be so outwardly neat and organized by drive in such a chaos fire of garbage??? car floor has not been seen in years, actively pushing trash and wrappers off the seat to be able to sit in cameron's car. dont even mention the crunching noises that happen whenever u try to get in/out of the car bc of the shear amt of trash in that man's car. funnily enough, only the driver's side is ever perfectly clean,,, u think he does it to spite the poets? LMAO

meeks is the perfect carpool buddy: an absolute delight to be in his car. equipped w everything u could possibly need in his little hybrid prius. only good vibes and fun times in his car. also meeks loves driving!! will take u anywhere u want/need to go; willing to drive far to do things + loves to go on late night drives with the windows down and music blasting

I’ve been thinking about Steph and cass lately, especially with my recent re-read of Batgirl 2009. You’re totally right in that Steph does not even once spare Cass a single thought or even speak about her at all in the entire run. But it also got me thinking, didn’t this exact scenario already play out except with Tim? I’ll admit it’s been awhile since I’ve read her run as Robin, but I feel like once she got the mantle of Robin (again, taken from someone else- this time Tim) she never really spared him a second thought either. And then when she gets the Batgirl mantle from Cass, she never spared her a second thought. I know that the writers probably did not intend for this sort of characteristic to shine through, but it’s interesting nonetheless that this has happened twice. Does Steph just view people as disposable? Or as extensions of herself? And that’s why the second she gets what she wants from them or can’t get anything more from them, they drop in importance in her eyes and she doesn’t spare them a second thought? What are you views on it? (Also supergirl showing up in the middle was so damn random lmfao, did they have any previous links before that issue? Or even after that issue? I feel a bit bad for Kara that she constantly has to be besties with whoever the newest batgirl is T-T)

That is how I tend to view her, when I'm not taking steps to deliberately soften her character (like with Batgirl, Repentant). She does think about Tim a few times while she's Robin, but it's mostly in passing -- first explaining to Cass why she's in the Robin suit in Batgirl; then because he got a hold of her over the phone, briefly; and then because her last case involved an assassin, Scarab, who was hired to kill people who looked like him. Once that's established, he's out of her thoughts.

After that she thinks of him again in the lead-up to War Games, namely in the "Prelude," from Batman 12-Cent Adventure #1, which is partially an excuse to do set-up/recap flashbacks for anybody tuning into the event who hasn't been reading Batman regularly, but is also when we actually get to see the Incident that kicks off the gang war -- and it's told from Steph's perspective.

And a little later on when she hears his school got shot up, she's devastated, fully bursts into tears and is terrified that she might've gotten him killed.

That said, her writing in War Games is largely an outlier -- for all the problems with that story (and there are so many problems, don't get me wrong), it legitimately has some of the best, most selfless and heroic characterization Steph has ever been given. It's tragic heroism, but it's still genuine heroism all the same.

The rest of the time... Yeah, she just doesn't really seem to make many connections or think much about other people when they're not directly involved in getting her what she wants. That's the vibe I get, too.

As for Supergirl: they did actually establish that. There was a 4-isuue World's Finest miniseries in 2009 that told one semi-ongoing story but also used each individual issue to team up a member of the new "Batman Reborn" Batfamily up with one of the similarly-revamped "New Krypton"-era Superfam.

Issue #1 was where Tim (as Red Robin) was reintroduced to the 15-year-old Chris Kent Nightwing (and Thara Ak-Var Flamebird). Issue #2 was Damian and the Guardian. Issue #3 had Babs call in Kara to rescue Steph from a death trap and then they teamed up. and Issue #4 had Dick-Bats and Clark come in to bring most of the threads together for a big finale.

The mini overall is... okay, though there's some characterization I'm not fond of, and something about the art style just. Really empathizes how much I fucking hate Steph's ugly Batgirl costume.

(Why. Does she wear her fucking belt so loose. They do it so it'll hang akimbo on her hips but it's made of huge weighted pouches, it'd spin around her waist when she tried to grapple like a goddamn hula hoop!!)

Pudding is such a complex character! I love her so so much! She really means the world to me. Honestly, her whole story is completely relatable and the fact that it's basically used to parallel Sanji's doesn't help. It just makes everything hurt more. I could talk about her for hours and how misinterpreted her character is due to fandom discourse and the recent wave of "puritanism" within the internet.

I'm not gonna get too into fandom discourse because I hate it and I already have horrible experiences about it in this fandom (with Lawlu, specifically), but... I find it stupid. Her character has so many layers. She's just as complex and traumatized as Sanji. That's... That's quite the whole point? She made mistakes and has mixed feelings and different types of personalities due to her past and trauma responses. She made mistakes. Sanji made mistakes too. The only damn reason why people don't forgive her is because "she hurt our little meow meow <//3 She's so evil!!! Evil woman!!!" as if they wouldn't forgive her character right away if she were a MAN. Like. Misogyny who??

Anyway, I think it's pretty obvious people don't like Pudding because of obvious misogyny and overprotection of Sanji. Which is understandable because I'm also very intense when it comes to him, but damn... He would not like it if he knew y'all hate her for her mistakes.

Also, people only talk about her to say "she's a great character but her age gap with Sanj-" why does it always have to be about Sanji? Let the girl be her own character. Have you hear of the Bechdel test? No? Perhaps you could try it? Her character is obviously created for Sanji, but she's so much more! Let her escape!!! From the hands of patriarchy and men!! That being said, the whole discourse about their age gap is... Just... So fucking stupid.

Don't go cancelling me right away. I'm just saying that when it comes to stuff like age Oda doesn't seem to be very... Consistent? He's made mistakes before. And the Charlottes are a very huge family. I'm sure not even Oda knows the order of these children, lmfao. I think he would only say shit like "Katakuri is one of the oldest and Pudding is one of the youngest idk. Just made her one of the youngest to match Sanji's backstory of being one of the youngest". But leaving that aside-- Maturity never equals age in a show that's... About pirates... Where everyone has different experiences with different social surroundings... It's just like the Lawlu discourse, damn. You have to know the characters before saying crazy stuff like "Law would groom Luffy" because HOW??? HOW WOULD HE DO THAT??? That's basically impossible. And you need to think about the characters before assuming things. And Sanji and Pudding? Leaving aside the age difference, Pudding has more power over Sanji and that's noticeable. Does that even matter tho? They understand each other on the same level after all in the end. Tbh I couldn't tell about the age difference. I thought they were the same age ngl. Only found out bc I saw the discourse going on and my first reaction was "This is fucking dumb". Tbh their relationship is one of the healthiest I've ever seen for Sanji. We see him being himself for once without being extremely creepy. The whole arc about him losing himself is about a girl loving him for who he truly is. And the whole arc about a girl being judged for being different is about a boy loving her for who she truly is. It's so beautiful!!!

Anyway. Not the point. The thing is that people hate Pudding for... Absolutely nothing? Not knowing how to read complex characters? I still don't get it. Perhaps it's just that my mommy issues are too harsh and I can see through her but damn.

Ana also the whole thing about erasing Sanji's memories? People hate her for that and calling her... Selfish??? Did you not... Watch the scene... Of her crying because she lost the only person she has ever truly loved. But whatever. Call her selfish.

even ur tumblr page is mostly pretty models and people, lmao.

having beautiful people on my blog in the context of a pretty multifaceted blog doesn't mean I centre beauty in my life or base my entire self esteem on it. although it's something I'm thinking about a lot since I'm writing a book on it and using tumblr as a place for image reference. lmfao.

I mean the constant pressure to be more beautiful is always there don't, I'm pretty open about my relationship with beauty and how it is something we constantly are in flux with, and I am not against anyone engaging in beauty rituals, I just don't want women to sacrifice the fullness of their lives to be a vessel of beauty standards. women are starving themselves, mutilating themselves, sinking all their time and money into being pretty so they don't hate themselves and limiting their opportunities and richness of their lives because they literally hate themselves otherwise, and that's the ugliest thing I can think of.

that video was not saying "never appreciate beauty or have a complex relationship with it!!!!" it was saying in a very clear and compassionate way.... girl... get some other things going in your life because beauty is ephemeral and the way its being presented by skincare and make up companies is a con.

I'm just a girl with a blog and a lot of interests, that's why there's pretty people on my blog.

most days I get up and I write and read and go to work where I get paid sell and style clothes and I speak to my friends who are musicians and artists and we discuss politics so I have lots of things to base my self esteem on outside of how I look, but it actually does take a while to get here for a lot of people! beauty is currency as I keep saying, which means we have to take part in it to some degree to navigate the world. so no I don't put make up on for fun lol. I do it so people are nicer to me. even though I actually have a lot of privilege because of my body and face. I mean I literally get paid for having this body and face, modelling is such an amazing but ridiculous job. but I am not saving up for plastic surgery or buying into beauty culture in the way the video I shared is addressing, even though there's plenty of things society thinks I could get done!

I shared that video to help people considering the huge amount of messages I've been getting recently from insecure young women, and because it's something I have to keep reminding myself of since it used to be the only thing I based my self esteem on because of how I was spoken to as a young girl... we can be interested in beauty and fashion and also critique it. my blog also contains much much more literature,

art, music, architecture, photography, politics, design, films, shots and glimpses of other peoples life, my own personal reflections on how modelling and beauty and misogyny has affected my lived experiences, and plenty of things which do explore, exemplify and critique beauty culture as well as shocking vulnerability, body horror, negative consequences of celebrity culture, runway fashion and garments and outfits that inspire my style as well as runway history

some of you guys... worry me... because to me it seems like you can only grasp very basic concepts with only very polarising and differing GOOD and BAD concepts. but that can't be true. I really hope you are just being willfully obtuse and a hater because babe the world contains multitudes... we all contain multitudes <3

Lesson 25 is here! This week we solve Asmo's inner turmoil and finally find out why Barbatos hates Solomon's guts so much.

We got "eternal" for the rhythm games, too!

We start where we left off on lesson 24: entering the garden among Barbatos and Solomon looking for Little D. Nº5 to help Asmo.

Barbatos starts saying he remembers visiting Solomon in the human world, and Solomon begins to show signs that he remembers something. Then he says he remembers the when, just not the what, and Barbatos just gets more pissed off.

lmfao but finally, Barbatos gets to the crux of the matter: he went to visit Solomon and saw a list of all the demons Solomon had made pacts with...

And he was number eight.

That's all. That's literally the whole reason he's mad at Solomon. He's jealous and hurt due to a list. Holy shit.

Solomon tries to clarify he wrote them down without any order in particular, that he wrote them just as they came to mind. Someone save him he's making it worse.

Sorry Sol I love you I swear but I chose to back up Barbatos for fun

All this build-up for this. Incredible. I remember seeing people theorizing Barbatos' anger had something to do with time traveling shenanigans too. I was not expecting that. I prefer it over the feud he has with Thirteen, though, I know if it'd been about food I would've been disappointed. This is way funnier and you honestly don't see it coming ngl.

Back to the more pressing matter, Little D. Nº5 finds you, following Barbatos' indignation about being a "mediocre middle number", and without any previous warning, teleports all of you, it included, somewhere else...

That somewhere turns out to be Asmo's subsconscious, just like Mammon.

Asmo's on top of a throne, with Mammon, Levi, Satan, Beel and Belphie serving him around. They don't speak, they remain quiet even in front of you and Solomon points out they look worn out and exhausted, but Asmo doesn't seem to care. However when you ask him if "is this truly what you want?" you get points with him ;; hang in there, Asmo.

For now, however, he only has eyes for you and himself. He tries to beckon you, but you can resist. If you do, you win points with Barb and Sol.

Lucifer is missing from the group, though, and Barbatos notices.

Barbatos teleports both you and Solomon away to wherever Lucifer is, leaving him alone to fend Asmodeus.

You arrive in a weird dark forest, with a nice background music too.

Now that would be an interesting idea to explore, but I'll tell you here and now that sadly, no, we won't :( when asking Solomon, he just says this place might be so deep in Asmo's mind, not even he knows it exists. Mostly bevause this place doesn't "fit" Asmo.

You two have to look for Lucifer, though, because he seems important to Asmo just as he was to Mammon.

Yeah they do, despite all their bickering they really love their older brother.

After trekking for a bit you find a cabin in the woods, and lo and behold, Luci is there. You ask him why he's there, and he tells you he was a sorcerer that used to work under Asmo, until Asmo banished him for telling Asmo he was not beautiful, "not as you are now."

He asks about Asmo, so you can tell him you've just seen him or that you're going back to see him. Lucifer simpy gives you an apple to give to Asmo, and that's all you get from that little visit. Solomon, sensing it's the key for this, takes you both back to the castle where Asmo was.

Nor Asmo nor Barbatos are in sight, though, only the brothers and Little D. However, when you ask to see Asmo, the Little D. doesn't take it very well and does a 180 on you, commanding the brothers to get you.

Solomon, being our current knight in shining armor, tells you to run and go save Asmo while he covers you. We don't have a choice here, so we just run for it, leaving Solomon behind like this, probably.

We finally reach Asmo, who's alone in his room. There's no sign of Barbatos anywhere.

Asmo's delighted you came to "see" him, and continues to try and make you profess your undying love for him and that he's first above anyone else. Gotta snap him out of it.

We remember the whole Barbatos convo with Solomon about not being on top of the list here, too, and we use it to try and get to Asmo.

But it's not working very well...

He's about to lock you up (oh boy) when the apple Lucifer gave you falls to the floor. Asmo spots it immediately, realizing it's one of Lucifer's apples, Apparently, it's one of his favourite things, sp he takes a bite... and suddenly feels very, very sleepy.

Oh no.

The scene just ends there... and switches to this.

In hindsight I should've seen it coming tbh.

Basically, Asmo has fallen asleep forever. Lucifer has put him to sleep, granting his wish to remain forever beautiful by never aging.

Little D. Nº5 is inconsolable, and crying out as if he were Asmodeus himself. He keeps sobbing about how he doesn't want this, and how he wants to go back to his brothers :( Barbatos and Solomon think he's mixed with Asmo's feelings, or that he's embodied Asmo himself. In any case, what he feels is what Asmo wants, and him crying is just like Asmo crying.

But here we know how Snow White goes (at least the modified children's tale version...), so we step up to save Asmo.

I love the forehead option for them so much you have no idea-. I'm always surprised when they go on about love and I think I'm going to have to show romantic love towards one of them no matter what, and then I'm given a platonic option for it. I love that it's an option, even if I prefer the romantic type.

Whatever kiss you choose, it works, and you wake up back in the garden where Little D. Nº5 last teleported you. You're back with Solomon, Barbatos and the Little D, who's just snoring on the ground. It's adorable, but you have to go check on Asmo, so off we go to the House of Lamentation.

There's a bit of a commotion there, though.

If we think about the previous lesson with its chat + videocall at the end, we'll remember that all the brothers were talking about taking a little payback by drawing on Asmo's face as he slept.

Well, he's awake and yelling at everyone, so you can guess what's happening lmao

It is said (and proven) that Asmo's even scarier than Satan when angry. Also gotta love Lucifer smoothly avoiding his part in all this mess. Big brained asshole.

However your arrival makes Asmo flip completely. He's grateful you've saved him ;u; and offers to do anything in exchange.

So of course, we ask for a pact, bamboozling almost everyone else who's present. They don't think Asmo's gonna do it, but he does it in a heartbeat. WELL, TWO PACTS DOWN, I GUESS.

The end of the lesson starts, once more, with the brothers and you all enjoying breakfast together, but this time Lucifer ends up delivering a lecture that has everyone rolling their eyes and giving you pleading looks so you save them from this torture.

Asmo offers to team up with you to prank Lucifer. So you accept, obviously, because they're menaces and you can't really say no to them. Spoiled, the lot of them.

Anyways, you get to choose what prank befalls the poor man. I chose kitty speak. It was hilarious.

But now he's pissed off, obviously, so you all have to book it. A lighthearted end for this lesson. There's no clear hint (that I've seen) about who's the next demon that's going to succumb to his sin, so either they're moving to a mini interlude in our pact-making or they're leaving it as a surprise.

But we still have a videocall at the end of the normal story, plus the extra lesson and the bit at the end of the hard mode, so let's get to it.

The videocall is between Barbatos, Luke and Solomon, where Solomon apologizes for summoning Barbatos away when he was with Luke back in the previous lesson (when he needed help subduing Asmodeus). Solomon offers to pay Luke back for the scare by either helping him bake again or to make him a cake himself. Luke fights for his life trying to dissuade Solomon from cooking anything at all lmao. The call isall lighthearted and adorable.

Critically acclaimed.......... w-was this a ffxiv reference???? Hello?????? I mean English isn't my native language but I've never seen those two words used to talk about a living person before omg

The extra lesson takes place when Asmo wakes up in his bed after the whole ordeal, realizing how everyone's responsible for waking him up. He really wants to go to them and apologize, so he does.

Except, as we already know, his face is painted, so the brothers are having a hard time holding back their laughter, and it's not until Asmo finally sees his face that all hell breaks loose and the moment is lost lmao.

Then comes my favourite, the extra scene unlocked in hard mode. It's called "Butler for a Day".

You're sitting in the garden with Asmo and Barbatos while they're just talking about Solomon.

They also rip him a new one.

Barbatos asks you to please not be like Solomon now that you also have pacts, and to be considerate towards your demons. Sir this isn't our first rodeo sjdfsf

Here comes the kick, though: Solomon went begging to Barbatos to forgive him, saying he'd do anything to get back on his good graces, so Barbatos made him be Diavolo's butler for a day.

We actually see Solomon chasing Diavolo around, who seems to be having fun too lmao of course he would.

At least after this they should be on better terms...

And that's all for this week!

I, hm. I feel it wasn't as "deep" as Mammon's chapter, but maybe it's because they touched on Asmo's homesickness back at the beginning of Nightbringer. I liked that chapter of his a lot and how he was written there. Still, I sometimes feel they don't really know how to grasp Asmo beyond his "I want to be loved by everyone" thing. They could've delved a bit deeped in the whole "dark forest" part and how Asmo isn't always happy and probably gets tired of keeping up a smile for the sake of everyone (and himself too), but they just left it there. Maybe it's just me, that I haven't fully grasped everything in this chapter, but it's how I feel after finishing this one. I did like the start of Asmo's predicament, though, in lesson 24, with Solomon having to step in and actually fight him to stop him. The resolution doesn't feel as fulfilling as Mammon's did, and it makes me a bit sad for Asmo.

Asmo's really close with Lucifer, too. I don't know, I feel there's wasted potential ;;

Since there's no hint for who's next, I guess we can only wait...

Rime route??

So,, I've had this idea for a rime route for a very long time now. It's more linked to Felix's story. obviously. but I was thinking of a more slow-burn enemies to lovers. where Rime will have to work with MC against the LOS. I was thinking perhaps to explain why Rime acts different was mainly because of the spell the LOS would use to resurrect him. I was thinking maybe this Rime was more resentful towards Felix for trying to resurrect him with the wrong types of spells and such. Again, I believe he has mentioned many times before that he has been through a lot while,, you know. being dead, So that would definitely change a person, too. So the idea goes like this.. Since in Felix's route the ending is where tons of yk those ghost things surround the Escellun manor and it ends in Felix and MC dying while Rime survives I was thinking Rime could find some sort of Relic or a way to change the time and go back to find a way to help. I was thinking maybe despite his resentment, he'd still have feelings for Felix, albeit - non romantic. More of just adoration. And he'd mistake it for love, (also because of the guilt of going against felix and the others and for how he acted. Like I was thinking he'd hold onto every little thing in the past that he can at first until slowly he just starts to accept the many, big changes in his life - he does not love felix anymore.) he hates what he tried to do, but he still adores Felix. So before all this, at the very beginning when they started to actually happened, when he got resurrected he'd have "Visions" or dreams about MC. and he'd think of MC as his "replacement" because in this they'd have to end up with Felix for Rime's route (without choosing Felix as a mentor, ofc. cause that would just unlock his route instead.) Because of said Visions, Rime had a feeling that he had to take MC with him. So he'd time travel, kidnap MC, try to find a way to stop them all from literally ending the world or smth while also denying their feelings for each other. is it obvious how I didn't put much thought into this? LMFAO

Yeah and people love thinking realistically abt him lmao. The fictional character arguments are always so lazy + ignore the real-world messages - yes he’s a fictional character. People like him because he’s so realistic. There are real, yes real people out there, who if they had the chance - would do the exact same things he did just to get rid of a minority. Thats not an exaggeration that’s simple how deep bigotry can run and I love how Belos’ can be portrayed in multiple ways.

Also saying that Belos only hates magic purely because Caleb got ‘corrupted’ by a witch is not correct at all. That bigotry was there longgg long ago 💀 if anything that only amplified it. Belos doesn’t have a justifiable reason to hate witches/magic (Caleb falling in love with a witch is not justified hatred.) he simply does it because he holds those bias & allegories for 400+ years. Note this can extend to how differing witches are to humans in Belos’ eyes. How LGBTQ+ is acceptable for witches while in humans it’s sinful, unnatural, etc. How witches don’t have racism (I swear to god if one more person tells me that there’s no people of color on the Boiling Isles, HAVE YOU SEEN GUS?? 💀) whereas Belos came from an era where racism (to put in its simplest terms) was very much thriving!

The Boiling Isles represents literally everything a bigot like Belos would be against, witches included. Witches can be gay, witches can be people of color, etc. “Belos hates witches only” doesn’t really work for him and what his character is written for. He’s an allegory of bigotry and with the way he acts & speaks you can definitely see it. Fiction affects reality and reality affects fiction.

“He wanted control over the magic and to limit it to what he wanted.” That’s true! I’m unsure where you were going with this? He actually didn’t want this, he only used the coven system as a way to kill everybody easily in one take. He simply needed to gain control over magic first - that was never apart of his original plan. He was out here to kill because the boiling isles represents everything he is against.

“But Caleb came from the same time period and he’s not bad!”

I love comparing Caleb & Belos together sm. Further cementing into the ground that Belos being a bigot is all his doing is because Caleb unlearned the bigotry. Caleb was also a colonizer, he was also a witch hunter! He also likely held those other harmful beliefs for most of his life! But Caleb changed, whereas Belos clung to those beliefs. That’s why I love these two they’re a great example of why bigotry is taught and can be unlearned! Acknowledging this can add to their stories more, give them more depth, add more realism to an already scary villain! The reason Belos is so scary as a villain is because of how real he is - there genuinely are people out there who’d do the same as him if given the chance.

As a POC who studies a lot about how bigotry develops - I love studying Belos, he’s very well written in this regard imo! I feel like people who don’t want to acknowledge the rest of Belos’ bigotry miss the point of his entire character arc 😭 he’s somebody who fell into the deep extremes of bias & hate - let him be hateful.

I hope this helped the original person to have a better understanding of this topic? They seemed ill informed/uneducated so I hope my rant helped 😭(not saying that as an insult btw)

The fact she calls out to her mom when she is the one person who isn't gonna figure out a calm way to deal with this hurts, ouch. Even amongst all the hatred she has for her mom she still trusts her.

This line always stuck with me because of how insane it reads on the outside. She's 9! A whole 9! She's an infant what do you mean old! I guess it shows her toxic environment meant she was never allowed to act like a child and is bitter about it.

Hurts to read this. Clearly, they want to stop Rosa's abuse but don't know how. It's easy to judge them as cowards but realistically what can they do? Yell at Rosa who will then take it out on Maria more?

Honestly living on that island seems like abuser heaven so at least Jessica's parents aren't the worst, comparatively speaking. She has very limited contact with the outside world and every exit is very tightly controlled.

Setting up the "who gave Maria the umbrella" mystery I see Kanon!

It's really hard to not read Maria as autistic me, with her taking orders very literally, her word repetition, and her hyper fixation on magic stuff. Just makes the way Rosa blames her for getting bullied and not having friends even more horrific.

It's a bit sad how clearly Battler holds Kyrie in high regard and obviously does kind of consider her family even if he denies it considering that Kyrie fucking hates him

I am using the Umineko Project version of Umineko, and you know, the console sprites for Umineko are a lot more varied than the 07th mod would led you to believe (not that I am criticizing them, I am sure there were technical reasons as to why they had to be removed) there are some with Eva holding her unfolded fan that I didn't screen earlier too)

Kyrie's correct though, if they had simply asked her on her terms who Beatrice is from the start (Something along the lines of who was Beatrice possessing) she probably would have answered!

Well, it's more like she realized you were the best one to get the information she wanted, but you do love her too much to consider that.

I think Natsuhi and Jessica is probably the only parent/child relationship in the game that probably would heal itself with time... they both understand what is going wrong but aren't sure how to fix it, and I think with Jessica going out of her parent's house soon she probably would have been able to understand her mother more and makeup once they saw each other again... it makes me a bit sad to think about how the tragedy made it impossible for that to happen.

I'm already crying fuck. They are both extending their hand to the other. They are making steps towards repairing their relationship! And it's all getting destroyed!

I wonder how many times conversations like this happened in reality. Genji trying to convince Yasu to allow themselves to live their life normally but Yasu thinking that they aren't worthy of that, and feeling deeply guilty when they did interact with others...

I wonder if George has ever really tried to engage with Shannon's own interests, knowledge, and likes, instead of just assuming because she is a servant that everything he tells her is new and exciting to her

Anyways, I’ve been thinking about the Masters Eight tournament and I’m still disappointed with how it was handled

And I know you don’t care much for the Anime, but just hear me out about how I think it should’ve went

The competitors should’ve been Ash, Iris, Cynthia, Diantha, Steven, Alder (not totally sure about him), Wallace, and Lance (they’re not ranked in this order). With Leon being the final challenge to the winner

I hated that Leon was a competitor because it just guarantees that whoever he faces is automatically going to lose

But yeah, I just think if it’s the MASTERS Eight then it should be the strongest trainers. Which are the Champions both present and past, hence Wallace and Alder being here

I’m kicking Alain out because he just felt like he was chosen as a competitor at the last minute when he had no true reason to join the PWC. Plus he ain’t a Champion

Another thing I was annoyed with was the Battle Field, like if you look at the Kalos League battle field in the Anime, it actually looks cool and had different battle fields. It wasn’t a generic rectangular box. The Masters Eight should’ve at least had a nicer looking battle field than…what they gave us

Last thing I want to rant about, but ALL battles should’ve been 6vs6 and not 3vs3 in the first round. The battles would’ve been so much better to watch if they were full battles

But yeah, it would’ve been a great send off if Ash had competed with the Champions from each Region, won the tournament, and then won the title of World Champion from Leon as the final challenge

The way they handled the Masters Eight was smth else man it was such a cool concept but the way they executed it is just cnmdndjd😭😭

It would've been so cool if it was like that bc for one, why is Alain there, and two you are so goddamn right abt Leon like he's always gonna win against anyone, plus I'm hella fucking salty over the Diantha vs Leon fight as you can see owo

But real why is Alain there😭 for fanservice??? He and Ash didn't even fight and you can tell I'm also salty over that Lumiose Conference battle lmfao the way I started hating Alain and Zard X bc of that yes I'm that petty— also why the fuck is he a rank higher than Iris💀

I do like that it's the Champions for the Masters Eight tho, it checks out bc they're the strongest of each region, but w Alder, as much as I love him, isn't he retired? What I always picture was the Champions plus Raihan, bc iirc, I think in the manga?? I'm not sure but I read that Leon always had to figure out a new strategy against Raihan bc he's always close to beating him, so if it's not Alder, I pitching in Raihan

So my ideal Masters Eight is Lance, Steven, Wallace, Cynthia, Iris, Diantha, Ash, and Raihan; Leon then being the final boss to see if the current number 2 can be number 1

Speaking of the M8 y'know, how does the ranking system of theirs even work? Cause yeah there's still the Ultra trainers, the top two of those being Raihan and Drasna. What I'm saying is,, should the competitors battle within Wyndon Stadium to be counted in it or do they have some sort of trainer card registration thing that automatically knows how many battles you had and how much you improved as a trainer? Idk bc I haven't watched the anime since hahaha

But yeah with the stadium and the battlefield right it's so goddamn plain😭 what I had in mind that would've been more of a challenge was smth similar to Kalos' field but also having control of the weather, like, if it's the ultimate challenge, then the Champions/M8 should be able to adapt depending on the weather of the field, whether it be raining, sunny, hailing, or if it's a sandstorm, to see how resilient they truly are, how they can make a disadvantage into an advantage, it would've been cool to see ig

Also as much as I despise all those "this is Ash's ultimate team" videos in yt bc they're basically all his aces, for this, I really wished he could've used all his aces because come on, you're gonna challenge the different champions of different regions with a team you just trained? Like he really won against Steven and Cynthia with a recent team, and ik he had training but c'mon man, the M8 aren't pushovers, might as well bring your strongest mons to have a fighting chance against them (I remember someone actually writing a fic abt that, of Ash using his previous pkmn, using a different team depending on the champion he faced and it was really dope cnmdnd).

But yeah, it's just,, well it could've been better but hey hahah
