I’m not sure what “feminism” has come to but friendly reminder that PUBLICLY interrogating your friend about all of the most private, intimate, details of her personal sex life while she is trying to have a relaxing afternoon by a pool is not exactly revolutionary feminist activism. Especially not when every woman has different experiences and trauma and many women struggle with self esteem.
Seriously one of my friends did this yesterday to my other friend and publicly mocked and bullied her for being “sexually frustrated” because she hasn’t had a penis inside of her yet by a public pool where the sound echoes off of the concrete and anyone can hear everything!
She then said “I love feminism! I love that we can talk about this!” No you are not being a sex positive feminist you are publicly embarrassing your friend!!!
Watching “Sex and the city” really convinced a generation of women that being a rich straight white woman in a big city who has friends she over shares about her private life with is inherently what “feminism” looks like 🙄
All this does is make women compete against each other for experiences with men and it is fucking WEIRD and INVASIVE and DISRESPECTFUL and SOCIALLY INEPT and fucking RUDE! It was none of her fucking business to be publicly invasive like that. Can we bring back social propriety???? Do men talk to each other like this????
Women today think this is “feminism” while we still don’t have maternity leave, childcare, etc!!! And sex education and contraception is under attack!

What on earth is a 'corset apologist'? Like, because you acknowledge corsets were perfectly functional supportive undergarments, you're an agent of the patriarchy??
Yep, that's it exactly.
As with all the other red flags in the post, it's not a guaranteed t*rf signal. I've known plenty of non-t*rfs who expressed similar views (including the person who claimed Abby Cox was "looking down her perfectly powdered nose" at Mary Wollstonecraft for daring to [checks notes] point out that Wollstonecraft was rather judgmental about her fellow women's interest in dress). But...it's definitely a "check blog for t*rf leanings" tip-off for me.
And yes, to clarify: some people (t*rfs or otherwise) think female dress history researchers/historical costumers/vintage fashion enthusiasts who don't believe that corsets were The Root of All Evil when commonly worn are just brainwashed patriarchal shills and we can't possibly know what we're talking about.
Because that's way easier than thinking critically about the history you've been taught, and not vaguely misogynistic at all! </s>

did people forget that the bechdel test was a tongue in cheek joke from a 4 panel comic and not a genuine measurement of whether a piece of media is sexist or not

Also, before someone decides to argue, I am a NaruSaku and SasuLee shipper. I literally think Sasuke is queer, but that doesn't erase that some of y'all just hate women. Because there is sincerely nothing Sakura Haruno has done that she A) Hasn't shown growth and moved away from behavior wise B) That isn't nearly as close to the same level of bad that Sasuke, Itachi, Neji, Gaara, Obito, or even Naruto "Probably would have been the coolest guy" Uzumaki have done. But, people rush to defend them but cannot extend the same grace to Sakura who was just an annoying teen girl?
You don't have to like her, but some of y'all need to really reflect and realize your dislike of her is rooted in some base of misogyny and because a femme presenting woman dared to be close to your favorites; or for some that a not femme enough presenting woman dared to not kiss your power fantasy's feet. Ultimately, sexism is a disease and it's disturbing the hold it still has on the Naruto fandom.

Just wanted to say thank you for the ottosuba posting you've done lately. The English speaking fandom is absolutely barren with Otto content, let alone ottosuba content. So to have someone as awesome about it as you post via Tumblr posts, fanfic, fanart, etc. on a good(-ish) website like Tumblr is like finding a diamond in the rough. Anyhow, looking forward to any future ottosuba content from you!

anon you made my day fr these are very high compliments T^T <3 i appreciate it a lot pfft a part of me is always like "I CANT REVEAL HOW MUCH MY BRAIN IS ROTTING OVER THESE CHARACTERS..." bc i get a little embarassed a little shy bc what if i am posting the same things too much...??? but then i simultaneously go "lol my blog my rules anyway im gonna make a gazillion billion content *clicks post*" which is how all the otto and ottosuba content gets churned out alsdflj. especially bc - like you said - the english speaking fandom is a BARREN DESERT when it comes to otto and ottosuba content T^TT ive been thinking about it lately bc they seem to be a lot more popular in the japanese speaking fandom i think, but theres next to Nothing with the english speaking fandom :o interesting difference there.
but regardless :o yeah i keep making otto and ottosuba content bc i am in Desperate need of it... its a desert and i gotta feed myself too HAH theyve always been interesting to me but in the years ive been into rezero that Interest has skyrocketed bc of all the interesting developments pfft (and also the lack of english fancontent for them HAH). i just think theyre so underrated in the english fandom.... thank you for liking my stuff anon <3 :DD

Mandy Moore in 2002:
Stars in “A Walk to remember” which is a surprisingly sensitive and realistic portrayal of being a religious teen girl who is ruthlessly bullied and has badly photoshopped ironic porn of her spread throughout her school to mock and shame her for not having a penis inside of her yet. She also loves studying science especially astronomy because science doesn’t inherently conflict with her faith and she LITERALLY DIES OF CANCER at the end.
Mandy Moore in 2004:
Stars in “Saved!” Which is a mean spirited, condescending, patronizing, bad faith satire of religious girlhood where OF FUCKING COURSE a religious girl gets pregnant as a teen after a failed attempt at converting a gay boy. Her pregnancy is later publicly revealed to the whole world without her consent to mock and humiliate her because come on isn’t that funny guys????? Mandy Moore is NOT the one who gets pregnant but is one of the religious bullies.
Teen girls just can’t win can they? Make it make sense Mandy Moore 🙄. You’re either bullied for being a sexually repressed prude or you’re fetishized as a porn category or called a hypocrite for having sex.

This might lose me followers but I truly think some of the takes I constantly see on here policing how especially women (not exclusively, but it's almost always directed at women from what I've seen) talk about men are borderline gaslighting and completely devoid of systemic analysis, and I'm genuinely so tired of seeing them, and I would like to find some way to permanently remove them from my dash.

Sonething that really fucks me off is the immediate turn to womens looks in any dispute. People always used to say "You're against porn because you're ugly." Or "You have small breasts and you're jealous"
And true, when I was younger I didn't like my body. I dated a boy who watched pornography, I was exposed to it at a young age, and I was confused and distressed at how I felt I didn't match up.
But even now, people who claim to be feminists use it. I have plenty of photographs of myself on here, and people love to use them against me. "Well, you look like a man!" And "You have massive eyebrows!" (??) As though this is going to send me to my knees in crushing despair?
like sure, I'm not a supermodel. But I have a house. I have a garden with strawberry plants. I got on the cover of a magazine. I have been married twice. I have a child that I adore. I have diplomas hung on my wall. I have a cat, who... well, we tolerate each other. I have a job. I paint portraits. I have close friends, I have my mother to visit..
There is so much to do. So many noodles to cook. So much to write, to paint, to sculpt. There's sex to be had, there's books to be read, there's cuddles and cupcakes and sunshine on the porch.
I'm not gonna spend all this time worrying about my freaking eyebrows.

Really fascinating that the group of ppl who have the most problem with lisa doing the burlesque show are chinese ppl (u would not believe how many video essays have been made about this from the moment it was announced to now the topic is literally inescapable everywhere u look and theyre acting like this single event is setting feminism back 50 years) BUT guess who were the ppl searching lisa 疯马秀 on twt for video footage and flooded the tag with porn bots. ALSO chinese ppl. The fucking irony of it all. Now i am aware these are probably not the same ppl and the pearl clutching group probably takes the most issue with the second group but this is YOUR fucking problem in YOUR society and youve decided to have this fight over the body of a woman who is a) not chinese b) not active in china c) not doing this performance in china like why do u even care??? And its gotten to the point where theres outrage about the two chinese actresses who went to fashion week and also went to lisa’s show saying they should be blacklisted and theyve ruined their career by associating with this like its just ridiculous
