i really like villains! peter and i have been watching it together so we're a bit behind on s2 but i'm having a good time so far — i'm hoping that they stop turning colby into stuff bc like. it's annoying. but ik filming schedules and stuff etc etc. i think it stands on its own pretty well but i also haven't seen wizards in a long time. and like, granted, i do think it's pretty similar to wizards, but also it's disney channel and we all know they have ten plots. i think also hartley and amy's relationship is like, more gay than i remember harper and alex's being (i'd compare them more to stevie and alex? i think?) but. idk i'm having fun, which is my personal standard for "is [x media] good". and if i'm having fun it's good and if i'm not having fun it's bad. (ik this is not the end all be all of media etc etc etc i'm simplifying)

i think my fave episodes so far are the ones towards the beginning/end of the season that get really plot heavy? the filler episodes are fun too i just like stakes and drama lol

mamamoo are so great cause they sing so well and they have minimal dancing which is nice compared to newer girl groups where its all dance glitz and glam or they look dainty and doll like, it sometimes isnt really relatable imho. it just doesnt hold my interest in them fully cause its not my personal taste or again their age might be lack in experience if any of this makes sense? i cant get a time machine and go back to the 50s and the only other relevant music nowadays is kpop so either they should bring more variety or i will eventually forget about kpop cause its always the samey tiktok stuff

Hi, hello there! Sorry to bother but just wanted to say I love the way you draw the slugcats and I adore your Anthro AU. Saint's design is my fav. Scug is so pretty! Spears's design is also my fave! So fancy x3 But I'm a bit confused about one thing tho. In one of the pages, Spears mentioned not having a mouth to either or talk so...how is Spears able to talk with the group and that one Scav? Duid I miss something? =? Also since Arti's pups are alive here, why does Arti still seems to have a vendetta with them in this AU? 👀

EDIT UPDATE 17/02/23: I've now been informed that Spearmaster uses sl in the game, so I'm combining that with tail wind noises (which is now minimized).

Know that this is my au so there's a lot of personalized hcs and stuff that may or may not be canon:

Short answer: Spear talks via their tail holes ; Gourmand reunites her kids after she thought they were dead for good (but actually just underwent the cycle)

Very Long complex answer:

Spearmaster talks through their tail. Its a thing from the dating simulator in inv's campaign but its dubiously marked if canon (because you don't hear/see slugcats talk in the game itself anyway)

While most may consider this a weird thing the inv campaign just do, I personally accepted it.

They practiced manipulating the winds in the holes they bear to make it sound like someone is talking. It is so effective and mastered to the point that people forget that they don't actually have a mouth lol.

As for Artificer, its a bit intertwined with another AU explanation (thats a bit popular among fans): Gourmand finding Arti's lost kids and reuniting the family, who simply underwent the cycle and is just out there, separated from her. Of course, she had to deal with the stress and anguish of not knowing whether or not her children is still alive (hell, I don't think within the game she is aware of the cycle system but then another explanation for if she is aware and WHY they don't... appear, is because the pups were "too pure for this world"- which I may call bs, personally, but everyone thinks what they wants so...). (as a bonus, this is what lead to arti being friends with gourmand and eventually meeting survivor and monk because they share the same colony)

There are other alternatives for it- like they just didn't die but arti's got the vendetta anyway- probably because they had feuds or gang wars or a bad history (there's going to be one explanation soonish in the heist comics). (answers that don't need complex explanations lol)

Because at the same time, this AU has all the playable scugs meet each other in the same time, which doesn't happen in the game (ik jolly coop exists but thats not canon)

I see the anthro au as my personal outlet for creativity. It doesn't HAVE TO be consistent with in-game lore. Its just my personal dumb fun haha

I do understand the people finding issues with implementing things that aren't canon sometimes, but thats the fun of creating aus (i bring this up because ive seen a tumblr post about this earlier and it made me think for a bit if the anthro au is a bit "too weird" or "too fandom cliche" for rain world's context- but like i said earlier- this is my funzone. if people dont like what i got for it, then at the very least ignoring and respecting that it exists is fine. the internet will and will always have opinions, but the smartest people dont start the fire.)

yonderland - only wanted to choose one show by the six idiots and honestly it could have been any of them, but yonderland won because it’s just so CLEVER while being utterly silly, which is absolutely my kind of thing. negatus is supposed to be the baddie but is just... silly and incompetent, which makes him adorable. lots of wise elder vex’s lines became lil echolalia things for me for months after i watched it

call the midwife - this is the show that has been with me for the longest time. it started when i was 15 and it’s seen me through so much and it’s my annual ‘let’s have a big cry every sunday in january and february’ comfort show with a side order of intense emotions. i have loved and/or appreciated 99% of the storylines, midwives and nuns. phyllis crane and sister julienne are my LOVES

dinnerladies - victoria wood. need i say more? this show is like an old friend to me. i can’t remember the first time i watched it but i must have seen it over 15 times. victoria’s writing is incredible and all of the cast are VERY good at bringing her characters to life. this is a get to know me and also my family kind of show - it’s the one we will all sit and watch and laugh along to and we quote it every day

last tango in halifax - look, i’m not saying some of these shows to get to know me aren’t mildly to extremely traumatising, they’re just the shows that have had the most impact on my life. sally i will never forgive you for THAT and also series 5 was so weird, but this was the first show with wlw in it that i watched after i came out and also caroline elliot is another loml (ok i have a lot...)

mum - sitcoms with added pulling hard on the heartstrings are where it’s AT. this is SO well-written and i’m a sucker for that realism. if you think it’s slow and boring then you’re watching it wrong. cathy walker, i love you. she’s so gentle. you know this show is good bc there’s a het relationship that i cry about. it’s the yearninggggg

holby city (series 14 - series 21) - again, this is not The Best by a LONG shot, but berena was my whole life when i was not great mentally and had very little else. they are my ultimate ship and bernie wolfe has my whole entire heart and basically the ik they’re fictional but if the two of them can go through the most traumatising shit and still be “happier than i ever thought possible” finding the love of their life at over 50 years of age, that gives me boundless hope <3

Reblog stuff from people you'd like to get to know! Maybe put some of your thoughts in the tags, reblogs and tags are what makes tumblr so fun. You can put the weirdest stuff in there and the person you reblogged it from will get a good laugh out of it (at least that's what i do whenever someone reblogs my stuff: cackle at the tags)

Write some comments on AO3 or leave some asks (anonymous or not, your choice) on tumblr! Even if it's just "!!!!!!?!?!??!" or "❤️💖🫶😭" Authors WILL gobble it up.

Write some DMs! Most (if not all) people on here are also starving for interactions.

I remember and recognize so many beautiful people who reblog my stuff or have left comments or asks. Even if I haven't directly talked to them, I would still consider them my friends. Tumblr mutual culture is a bit like that.

I want to go back in time and interrogate 2021 max on what kind of drug she was on. Tell me how i did 48 chapters of ihiap in 10 months then its taking me over two years to do 15 chapters of twbb. Im not good at math but thats a drastic decrease.

I really want to delete ihiap/twbb and do like a complete rewrite but im scared of losing all my comments and stuff on them. But i also dont want people to read them anymore. Its a struggle.

When i do the rewrite im doing everything so differently. Names are getting changed certain things are getting taken out its going to be a whole new fic.

Some bumps in the Road...(part 1)

July 21, 2023 - Happy Birthday to ME!

Well - I wrote this blog late last night and finished it early this AM and apparently did NOT hit POST NOW! Then I shut my computer down because I couldn't get Lion King to run without glitching and you know what happened to the post I had worked on for a few hours... DANG IT! I appear to be distracted.

Katelyn is sick. I think she had food poisoning as we all had different food for lunch and she was the only one that got all the symptoms of food poisoning. That started about 4:30 yesterday after another amazing day. So let me start from the beginning of yesterday. I'll get to the bad stuff toward the end. (She is much improved - FYI)

July 20, 2023

We had a leisurely breakfast - so leisurely that we kinda' missed our departure time so I simply recalculated and came up with another plan. Who can look at time when you are laughing and talking about places we have seen and things we have done? Instead of the Korean War Memorial we would go directly to the Eisenhower Memorial directly across from the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum where we had timed tickets to enter at 10:00 AM. PERFECT!!

The Eisenhower Memorial leaves me wanting. I really want to like it, but I can't understand it.

Behind the two main pieces - Ike as General (above) and Ike as President are excerpts of some significant speeches he gave - but you wouldn't know it unless you decided to see if there was anything on the back - but the wall. Also there is an abstract wire "something" that is supposed to be a picture of Point du Hoc on the beaches of Normandy but NO ONE would possibly know that unless you read the brochure - which I did. I took this image off the Internet and - well - what the hell is that?

Plus there are these huge column in the front of the memorial that are just there. Weird. I did take the kids around the back and we read the speeches - but I spent most of my time thinking - WHO APPROVED THIS!?!?! I have seen it in the morning, afternoon and night and I'm still not feeling it. Moving on.

My plan had only 2 hours scheduled for the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum - and that was a big boo-boo on my part - because the kids needed more time. We had a tour of the Supreme Court scheduled at 12:30 SHARP and to make that we would need to leave exactly at noon. With only 45 minutes to go and having never left the first gallery, I called a meeting. I suggested we skip the Court (since I'm still furious about all the recent decisions they are making regarding women's control of their own freaking bodies.) Senator Stabenow's office made the reservation for us - which was nice - but the time didn't really work. So we extended our Air & Space Time.

We opted for a planetarium show - which was awesome and left me feeling like a moron- the kids know so much about the current exploration of our universe and I know so little - my mind was blown as they discussed what we had watched. Then it was time for lunch.

On to Arlington Cemetery. But that will be part 2. Gotta' run.

Name one favorite band from each decade

well!! this should be uh. interesting. forgive me for starting in the 1940s since I'm not exactly well-versed in bands from earlier decades

1940s: glenn miller and his orchestra I kinda grew up listening to them on accident, probably because of dad's army, something my m*ther, dad and grandpa love/loved to watch. I don't tend to listen to them that often, but since I do have a favourite then well I might as well put it down!

1950s: bill haley and his comets again, this is my dad's influence, but several of the songs on the cassettes he made up for me were by them. I also have a copy of the rock around the clock album that I got for free at a record fair a long time ago and I would say it's my oldest but I have a 78rpm disc from the 30s. I guess it's my oldest playable disc since we don't have a working 78rpm player

1960s: the easybeats now this was a tough choice! I nearly put the rolling stones, but also I think I enjoy a more wide selection of the easybeats' music than the stones' (not to say I don't enjoy their 60s body of work, it's more about the level at which my brain vibrates) and honestly how can I not list the band I have spent the most money buying albums of

1970s: the kinks I know. but considering that the glenn miller orchestra were formed in the 30s I can count the kinks for my 70s band, since I think I slightly prefer seventies kinks over 60s kinks musically (otherwise the shit that they got up to in the 60s wins out like dave really invited his mother to his shag pad with porn lying about) and yeah. I listened to 20th century man again today in the car before I unwillingly fell asleep. shit's good

1980s: flash and the pan was tempted to put the kinks again but. did you expect anything else from me. I wish opera singers was on the internet in better quality so y'all can go feral over it too

1990s: pink floyd was tough since I don't actually listen to stuff from that decade too often. just hasn't ever been my thing? but honest to god my choice came down to douglas adams playing with them that one time and probably being that publius guy (ik he denied it but seems like something he'd do. dude was probably doing it to procrastinate)

2000s: my chemical romance again, don't really listen to bands from this decade. like yeah I listened to radio pop at the time but also I was at max eight years old, so like. I kinda did have to list the band I've enjoyed most in casual passing (also kinda influenced by gerard way using a flamethrower I like fire)

2010s: for half the 2010s the only things I listened to were classical music/film music (aka I had been watching the same films over and over again and uh. kinda memorised the soundtracks to listen to in my head. I did not have much internet access which is why I did that but I did also pirate dr who music to my phone during the time I DID have it) so my knowledge of the music of the 2010s is. rusty. or alternatively remembering the shitty songs people blasted in various spaces at school and I so desperately wanted to make them listen to the fuckin salt and pepper diner challenge if we remember that. fuck it the tso is definitely my most consistently listened to 'band' (it's an orchestra) from that decade even if I think I found my old spotify wrapped decade thing and it says I listened to queen the most. yikes

2020s: abba like the fact that they released a new album and it slaps and I have two copies of it made this choice easy lol

I unlarried a while ago...bc I just grew up ig it's just very weird speculating about someone's life especially for someone like who found the idea of obsessing over celebrities wierd and obsessing over their love life was the epitome of madness... Idk why I fell into the Larry ship hole....

But now it's just disappointed in myself for spending so much time money and energy into something which doesn't even make me happy anymore and I get growing out of things but this doesn't feel like that... I look back at 1d and it's bittersweet... I can't enjoy the mvs or the music.... It just feels wierd....

Same with h he annoys me sooo much i always liked him the least... Larry was like the only redeeming quality of his to me (he seemed too narcissistic for my liking)

Harry Styles is now so saturated and inescapable in pop culture that he actually feels oppressive to me. Of course, I say this as someone who dislikes him and his tactics, so I understand my negative bias and I don’t expect others to feel the same way. To me, Harry is a source of an emotional trauma that’s constantly rubbed in my face, mostly because of my personal experiences in this fandom. It would be easier to walk away. Unfortunately, I’m not that kind of person.

Having said that, I would say all of the other 1D guys have some post-Harry Styles, post-1D traumatic syndrome in their own personal ways, just expressed differently. Even Niall’s casual joke has to be done in a way that’s complimentary to Harry, and that itself feels (to me) like the oppressive reach of industry power, a type of trained self-censorship that reifies the structure of power.

(I won’t go into detail about Liam, Louis, Zayn etc. because it’s all been documented ad nauseum.)

For a 1D fan, to see the 1D men’s relationships revealed as tiered power dynamics is disillusioning, but this is industry 101.

Bands have broken up before. The Beatles often talked shit about each other. It can get divisive and ugly. But before the internet, industry didn’t have the instantaneous and overreaching power of digital manipulation that they have now. Harry’s alignment with Google and Live Nation is emblematic of that consolidation of power.

Louis is an intelligent person who must work inside this framework — he isn’t separate from industry either. Louis has only acknowledged his difficulties in oblique ways, “Right. Let’s go again.” “6 years of build up energy waiting for this moment” “Who the fuck’s gonna stop us?” “No major label, no radio play, no promo.” — because of the same self-imposed censorship that I mentioned before. What else can he say?

Louis channels his trauma creatively, into his songs, and like he says, he’s lucky to have a fandom who will listen and support him. It’s a tightrope act in some ways, one that he’s been walking for six years. The fact that all the guys are still able to make music, find their audiences, and expand their own tastes and circles of friends— their survival alone, despite the Styles war machine— is remarkable.

My point is that Louis is continually making his own chance, over and over, despite many obstacles. His personality is one of optimism and persistence. He seems to draw a dedicated fanbase with his values, and from what I can see, the percentage of solo fans is increasing. The chance to perform live is really pivotal for him. I think the landscape for Louis will look very different at the end of 2022.

That's how Levi almost lost one of figurines. Poor boy dove on the floor to save it a still has the scrap

Besides cleaning, Lucifer also spent most of his time doing the paperwork he would usually do at night.

This man went in strong and finished all the paperwork in 2 weeks and so...he was forced to spend time with his brothers.

Worst/best months of his life. He has never been so close with his brothers...and he absolutely hates it-

On the bright side, he has discovered new ways to punish his brothers in different, inventive ways. (RIP Mammon)

Mammon:

While some may think he would be from the ones that have the hardest time, he actually suffered from it the first few weeks and then he just...grew uses to it?

Tho, Lucifer did give him a hard time with his room. Was his floor always this color? Or did it change when you mopped it?

Also, how the hell was there loose change in his room?! How the hell did he not know about it!?

After that he offered to help clean the others room just so he could snatch any loose change they had.

Tho, the part that most bothered him of being quarantined was not being able to go out and go to casinos or get to his usual schemes

But then, he found a couple of online games that fueled his addiction to gamble

"I mean! It's a gambling game, with all the real life stuff...but get this! You don't actually have to spend or lose any money! Isn't that great?!"

"You do realize that also means you don't make any money...right?"

Leviathan:

This boy didn't even know there was a quarantine the whole time.

He thought it was weird how everyone was always home all of a sudden but he had many events, games, animes and mangas to care for to ask his brothers why they were at the house all the time. 

This whole thing did make him grow closer to his brothers tho. Since, he is basically the king of isolation (Elsa who? Nah, Levi) all the others kept constantly bugging him and asking him for recommendations of games and even shows to watch.

He has like 70 new records on his games and didn't even bat an eye when Lucifer told him they would be taking online classes. His response was just “Nice, less people!”

Which got a whine out of Asmo who is so touch starved

The day Lucifer announced the quarantine was over everyone was happy except for Levi who just ???

“There was a quarantine going on?”

“You are a useless otaku, you know that-”

Satan:

This man went into quarantine with a whole ass library worth of unread books and he came out being able to recite them like old poetry, learned 6 languages (without including morse code), is basically a chef at this point, has a whole ass youtube channel to debunking stupid theories he saw on the internet and knows how to play violin, piano, and the flute.

He wasted zero seconds being stuck in that house. He used them all to gain knowledge.

He even started to read some mangas from levi just because he had read ALL of his books at least twice and he wouldnt be getting any new because he couldn't leave to go to the library.

Tho, his and Lucifer’s relationship got better...and worse at the same time.

The two spent so much time stranded with one another they are physically sick of seeing the others face. Satan literally put a spell on Lucifer so that he wouldn't be able to see him for a whole day. He was grounded an entire month.

Being grounded from the stuff he liked to do ended up making him have to play along with his brothers ideas. Which only gave Lucifer more headache. Satan 1 - Lucifer 0.

Asmo:

“DEAR LORD THIS TORTURE!”

“It hasn't even been 3 days-”

“AND YET I HAVE LOST SUBS, BEEL! This is all because the lightning in this house is LESS than ideal for my beautiful skin!”

This poor demon has never been as touch starved as he is during the whole process.

He is constantly whining about how he just wants to be hugged and held. It makes all the brothers sick of hi by the third day. Tho, he does manage to get some hugs a day from them! Even from Levi the reclusive.

Also, you KNOW this man made himself an only fans account.

He got so fucking popular on it even Diavolo heard of it...which obviously meant Lucifer found out and close the account.

“Eeeeeh?! But what about my fans?! They cant possibly survive this quarantine without my precious face!”

On the other hand, has actually been working out quite a lot.

And! Boy even managed to convince Levi to work out with him as well!

Granted, Leviathan didn't make it 10 minutes in, but it was fun for Beel to instruct his brother! : D

Beel actually would be one of the less that suffered during the whole time. Yes he missed going out and tasting new restaurants. But he loves his family and enjoys spending time with them quite a bit!

Belphegor:

He literally slept trough the whole thing.

The day it started he looked at Lucifer and went “Welp, i’m going to hibernate. Wake me up when its over.”

Lucifer only rolled his eyes...but almost a week later he realized that Belphegor was being serious about not waking up at all-

So, Beel was instructed to wake him up.

He was in a bad mood for being woken up, and groggy the rest of the day. But after that, he started to spend a lot of time with both Asmodeus and Leviathan playing games.

He even managed to win against Levi once!

Also, Belphegor spent the whole time procrastinating on doing any chores Lucifer gave him. Clean his room? Good luck waking him up. Do the laundry? Awe, too bad Beel ate the detergent. Help Satan on the kitchen? He almost burned Mammon in the process because he feel asleep watching over boiling water.

During this whole thing I can see my Mc, Amaria,driving Satan crazy! She wouldn't leave his side at all XD. She would also be constantly helping Mammon, Belphie, and Satan on their pranks on Lucifer

hey love!! ik you most likely won’t see this tonight which is fine, just kind of need to rant rn. so my boyfriend took me out after i got off work tonight and we tried this new sushi place that’s supposed to be super nice, but it ended up being so bad. i was already kinda grumpy because i was super tired and woke up at 6:30 this morning. i kept apologizing to him for being grumpy and if i seemed mean at all. i think we were both out of it and we were both in weird moods so the night wasn’t the best. but we were fine together and we were trying to stay positive. then we got home and we got in a stupid bickering fight and i started saying stuff to him that was definitely out of hand tbh. he didn’t seem too mad and he went out of his room to get water and when he came back in i could tell he was suddenly super mad. and he said “you cannot be saying whatever you want in my house. you made my mom shut her door” and i did not realize his mom was home so i was like wait she heard me? and he said “yes she was shutting her door and she gave me a look like what the fuck? when i went out to get water” so i was really embarrassed by that but he just kept going off on me about it and it turned into us fighting again. and it got pretty intense so i called my best friend to talk and she offered to pick me up and let me stay the night. so i’m with her at her apartment right now and i didn’t tell my bf i was leaving or anything. and i just tracked him because he hasn’t texted me at all, and he’s at a house that i’ve never seen before? i tried to do an internet search to try to figure out whose house it is but it didn’t help me at all😂 then i checked the driveway cameras and he took my car??? like without asking me. which normally i’m totally ok with but tonight he definitely knows better than to do that since we were fighting so bad. like i could need it for all he knows so i’m just like wtf. my friend told me to text him about it and tell him he shouldn’t have taken my car without asking and i probably will do that. but i’m just so curious whose house he’s at because i do not recognize it at all and our fight was REALLYYYY bad. so it’s making me nervous. i don’t think he’d cheat on me or do something in spite of us fighting. but it’s still worrying me.
