Winter's Kiss - Part 2
Sorry I'm rusty but I had a nice time working on this!
Tumblr media
Part 1
Most people assumed that having ice powers meant Villain was immune to the cold. Surely being surrounded by her element only comforted and empowered her further.
What it really meant was that Villain had never truly been warm in her life. Always haunted by a biting chill that rooted in her bones and flooded her veins.
The summer months were easy enough for her to stay regulated in. Her body naturally fended off the scathing blaze of summer sun, meeting something close enough to equilibrium that she didn't have to shiver.
Winter was different. The scales dipped in one, unanimous direction. There was nothing to balance the overwhelming cold, steely and all-encompassing.
Thus, fighting on an icy rooftop, bitter wind stinging her cheeks, and frost clinging to her lashes, did not put her in a particularly amiable mood.
“Shouldn't you be wearing a coat?” she snapped at her nemesis, fighting off the urge to tremble as ice shot to life in her numbed palms.
Hero landed neatly in front of her, blushy nose and pink ears the only indicator that the weather affected him at all. His lips bloomed in a too-pleased smile. “Nope. The new suit has intelligent thermal-regulatory technology. In other words, I'm toasty as…uh…toast. Shouldn’t you?”
Villain’s gaze flicked over him. She could see, now, the steam radiating around him from his stupid heated costume.
Her skin ached for a taste of that kind of blanketing warmth.
A coat did her little good when the cold stemmed from the inside out. She hated him for it. Her glare was as sharp as the icicles in her hands.
Hero stepped closer and his smug smile faltered. He looked her over in turn. “Are you….cold?”
If she could glare any harder, her eyes would bleed.
“My entire existence is cold, I have never not been cold,” she said through clenched teeth. “Now let's wrap this up, Sunshine, so that I can go home and set the thermostat to 85° and hope that maybe, just maybe, I can take the edge off this- this corpse-numb, never-ending, godforsaken winter!”
Her bones felt only distantly attached to her body, dull and torpid as a rotting log.
She took a step toward him and her knees buckled beneath her. Hands caught her waist, lowering her to the ground.
Her breath caught up in lungs scraped raw, mind sweeping blank. All she could focus on was the delightfully warm palms against her sides.
“Villain?” Hero’s brow knitted in concern. Pulling one of his gloves off with his teeth, Hero touched a hand to Villain's cheek before wincing and shaking the icy sting from his bare fingers. “Sh*t, Villain, you're beyond freezing.”
Villain was barely listening. She reached for him as if magnetized, clutching at the heat emanating from his chest. Something pathetically close to a whimper slipped free at the barest fraction of relief, dropping her face against the blazing hollow of his neck.
Hero hissed against the no-doubt unbearable cold of her skin against his. She couldn’t bring herself to care, and he didn’t shove her away.
There was a pause.
“.....Let the record show that you’re the one cuddling me this time.”
Villain scowled. “Shut up.” Her fingers flexed against the smooth fabric of his suit. “This is- is just temporary, and then I’m going to stab you in the face.”
Fingers stroked her hair, brushing the accumulating snowflakes away. There was a click and shuffle as Hero shifted, wrapping her trembling form up in his cape.
“Stab me tomorrow. We’ll rain check.” Scooping her into his arms, Hero stood up.
“Hey-”
“Don’t worry, babe.” Hero’s stupid sunny smile was back, teasing and prettier than she cared to admit. “We’re nemeses with benefits, I don’t actually want you dead. Most of the time.”
Villain’s cheeks might have warmed if she could feel them. Her teeth chattered. “Sp- Speak for yourself, Sunshine. And don’t say nemeses with benefits. You’re em- embarrassing me.”
Hero’s feet lifted off of the ground and they were moving through the air. Villain glanced down at the world below them before shielding her face from the abusive wind with his cape.
He could drop her to shatter on the pavement. Fragile as ice.
They touched down minutes later, and Villain didn’t bother to pull the cape away from her face to check where they were. Maybe if she pretended to be asleep, Hero wouldn’t put her down… She couldn’t imagine peeling herself away from the shallow reprieve of his body warmth.
Hero shifted Villain’s weight into one arm. Metal jangled, followed by the rustling of a doorknob. Pushing it open with his foot, she felt Hero cross the threshold.
Peeking through the threads of Hero’s cape, warm lamplight washed the room in a honey glow as he clicked on the light. He shut the door and locked it.
Her ears perked up at the familiar crackle of flames dancing nearby. She tugged the cape down just below her eyes, still blanketing her nose and cheeks.
Hero chuckled. “That got your attention.” He pulled a chair in front of the fireplace and sat down with her puddled in his lap. His free hand smoothed back her hair, staticky from his cape. “Better?”
The glorious heat rolled over them in waves, and Villain bared her pink fingers toward it, eyes fluttering closed. “Mmm.”
Lips summer-hot and gentle pressed against her jaw. Warmth sparked low in her belly for an entirely new reason. Her breathing stuttered, turning her face toward his.
Hero took an icy hand in his, blowing warm breath against her knuckles.
The bone-deep ache began to thaw. Her eyes glued to his.
Her beautiful, insufferable,.. kind idiot.
She leaned in. “If you tell anyone about this, I’ll kill you in your sleep.”
A haughty and fond smile lit up his face. “Kill me when winter ends.”
Eyes flitting down to his perfect mouth, Villain caught his searing lips with her own. They chased the chill away together.
Neither of them wanted winter to end.

What if: Rhysand isn't as powerful as he believes or made others believe.
The other High Lords just have enough sense and diplomatic restraint to not break rules and use their powers against each other in meetings. So he takes it as a sign of submission while actually just being politically inept.
(A headcanon if this series' characters were written with an ounce of logic & integrity)

Would you continue the "hero is hunted down by the government for their powers" one please??
Hi Anon! I'd love to! Thanks for requesting this, here you go!
Part 1
Hero stirred in a warm bed. They sat up and rubbed their eyes, taking in their surroundings. They were in a neat, clean bedroom with simple furnishings and little décor. Hero cautiously got out of bed. Finding no restraints on their body, they immediately went to the door, trying and failing to open it. Next, they tried to kick the door down. The door didn’t budge, but the crack that followed was deafening. Hero cried out in pain, tumbling to the floor and clutching their foot.
In a lab, General and Scientist watched the security feed via the hidden cameras in Hero’s room.
“Was the titanium door really necessary?” Scientist asked, adjusting their glasses.
“You can never be too careful,” General replied.
“Yes, but, that foot is likely fractured now…”
“Nothing our medics can’t fix,” General said dismissively, “they’re awake now, would you like to see them?”
“Oh, yes, yes I would.”
Hero fought back tears, along with the urge to scream. Pain shot through their foot in agonizing intensity. The door opened to reveal two military personnel. One held a syringe in their hand. Hero eyed it warily.
“That had better be painkillers,” Hero said dryly.
The other operative hoisted Hero up. Hero yelped when their foot momentarily touched the floor. The solider with the syringe quickly injected the contents into Hero’s system.
“Gah!” Hero shouted, “you could’ve given me a warning!”
A third operative arrived with a wheelchair.
“What’s that…for…oh...”
As Hero spoke, a dizzy spell washed over them, and their body began to feel heavy. The operatives picked them up and placed them in the wheelchair. The first two soldiers marched on either side of them while the third wheeled them into the lab.
“Scientist,” General said proudly, “meet Hero, the most extraordinary anomaly on the Eastern Seaboard.”
“If their file is accurate, then I’d say they’re the most extraordinary anomaly in the world,” Scientist said.
Scientist approached Hero and examined them, taking their hands, then turning their head from side to side.
“Cold to the touch,” Scientist mused, “I’d expect nothing less.”
“Do you mind?” Hero asked dazedly, “personal space and all that.”
General laughed and ruffled Hero’s hair.
“The president expects regular updates on your research,” they said to Scientist, “I’d suggest you get started.”
“Oh, I plan to,” Scientist said gleefully, “just think- all the secrets we’ll unlock. Advancements in medicine, energy-”
“Let’s not forget the primary goal of your studies, Scientist,” General interjected, “this is first and foremost a matter of national security.”
“Yes, yes, the military applications they’ll provide will be wonderful as well,” Scientist said, waving a hand.
Research? Studies? Military applications? Just what kind of mess had Hero gotten into? Before they knew it, the soldiers had picked them up again and were securing them to something like a dentist’s chair. They pulled leather straps all across Hero’s form, partially to keep them from escaping, but also because they were so dazed that they might’ve fallen out otherwise.
“Now,” Scientist said, pulling on latex gloves, “let’s get started.”

Whumpuary 2024 No. 1
Captivity | Snow | Secret Revealed
Whumpuary Prompts List
Context: Sam was captured a week ago when she, Rowan, Victoria, and Ollie raided a penthouse for information on how to escape the city. She still holds out hope that her team will rescue her, but she is beginning to have doubts as her captors begin to torture her.
Masterpost
TW: captivity, hypothermia, torture
“Wow, you’re still at it?”
Sam flinched and turned, glaring through the bars at her captor. “I haven’t anything else to do, icy pop.”
The woman who called herself Blizzard leaned against the wall, arms folded, observing Sam as coldly as her powers of making snow storms. Sam hadn’t heard her approach, an ability she envied Ollie for. No one could ever sneak up on them.
Blizzard hummed softly and examined her immaculate fingernails. “Perhaps if you behaved, I might be persuaded to find proper enrichment for you.”
Sam rolled her eyes. “No can do, icy pop. Endless circles around my cell works just fine for me.”
Her captor’s eyes flicked up to meet Sam’s. “Do you really still have your hopes set on your friends rescuing you? They don’t even know where we are.”
Sam waved her hand dismissively. “I’m sure Rowan has a plan for that. Ollie’s no doubt listening as hard as they can, and Victoria… Victoria’s doing everything she can to find me.”
“You have a lot of trust in those three.” Blizzard moved away from the wall to stand directly before the bars. “Funny, since they abandoned you to my mercy once they got the information you sought.”
Sam positioned herself opposite her captor. She was almost two inches taller than Blizzard, even without shoes on. “Yeah, Rowan made the logical call in the heat of the moment. But it’s better if only one of us is captured rather than all four.” She casually leaned against the bars. “I can assure you, they’re doing all they can to track me down. For all you know, they’ve already found us and are preparing to strike.”
A flicker of doubt crossed Blizzard’s face, just for a moment. And then it was gone, back to the cool, stony mask. “If that is the case, we’ll just catch all of them this time, and you’ll have some company.”
Sam smirked. “You underestimate Rowan’s talent, Ollie’s skills, and Victoria’s stubbornness. Soon you’ll be the one behind bars.”
Blizzard scowled, no longer keeping up the cold facade. For a few seconds, she said nothing. But her face soon lit up with an idea. “It’s rather warm down here, isn’t it?”
Sam shrugged indifferently. “I dunno. Maybe that talent of yours is messing with your body temperature or something.”
“Let’s fix that.” Blizzard flicked her wrist. A small ball of fog coalesced in the palm of her hand. She swirled her fingers around, shaping it until it resembled a cloud. Nodding to herself in satisfaction, Blizzard allowed the cloud to grow until it was the size of a basketball.
Sam’s mouth went dry.
“Y’know,” Blizzard murmured, continuing to shape the cloud as it grew, “once the shield went up around this city, it stopped the weather from getting in as well as us getting out. It hasn’t naturally snowed in almost twenty years.” She held up the cloud, now the size of a beach ball. “I don’t know why you four broke into my headquarters. We still haven’t figured that part out. So I’ll cut you a deal: you tell me what information you needed and why, and I’ll let you go free.”
Sam blinked and took a step back, staring at the cloud. It swirled violently above Blizzard’s hand, freezing gusts of wind blowing snowflakes into her cell. She’d only been here a week. Ollie and the others might have figured out the next step already, but if they were caught up trying to rescue her… she couldn’t risk ruining the entire mission. They all trusted her with their lives. She had to keep that trust.
“No,” she finally said. The last thing she wanted was to endanger her friends, no matter how close or far they were from their goal. “You won’t be getting that answer from me.”
“Oh?” Blizzard cocked her head, a condescending smile on her face. “Well, that’s too bad. How about you cool off for a while and think it over, hmm?” With that, she lobbed the cloud into Sam’s cell.
Sam ducked, narrowly avoiding the ball of wind and snow. It dissipated against the far wall, sending cold wind and snowflakes across the floor. For a moment, Sam hoped nothing would happen, that Blizzard had just tossed a cloud in to scare her.
Those hopes shattered like glass when the air began to stir. The cloud reformed, floating to the top of the cell where it obscured the ceiling, churning and roiling like a pot of boiling water. The wind whipped around Sam, sending snow all about the cell. It stung like tiny needles against her bare skin.
Sam recoiled, backing into the furthest corner from Blizzard, who watched on, that same damn smile still on her face. “I think I’ll leave you to it,” she said sweetly. “I’ll be back later and perhaps you’ll have reconsidered.”
“Like hell I will!” Sam spat. The wind howled in her ears. She could barely hear her own thoughts, let alone Blizzard's words. Blizzard turned on her heel and vanished out of sight.
Another gust of wind shoved a handful of snowflakes in Sam’s face. She flinched and wiped it away, only for another flurry to attack her legs. Her pants kept it at bay, but the cold still seeped through the thin fabric. Sam dropped to the floor and pulled her knees up to her chin, giving the wind and snow as little surface area as possible.
She rubbed her arms rapidly. The temperature was falling fast. This was gonna suck. Even if Blizzard needed her alive, she would see that Sam was miserable until she gave her what she wanted. Sam closed her eyes and pressed her face against her knees. The snow stabbed into the back of her neck and her exposed arms, but Sam focused on the warmth of her breath against her knees.
Sam could do this. She could hold out as long as the others needed. They would come for her. They had to rescue her. Rowan, Victoria, Ollie, and her were a team. That’s what teams did.
So why are they taking so damn long?
Sam shuddered as the temperature dropped further. She wrapped herself into a tighter ball, conserving her body heat. It hurt to think about it, but Sam had to admit that Blizzard’s words had planted seeds of doubt. Sure, she had acted confident earlier, but now, alone in her cell as wind and snow whirled around her, she began to wonder.
Are they actually trying to find me?
Do they think I’m dead?
Are they focusing all their efforts on escape because they think I’m dead?
…did they hold a funeral?
The familiar burning sensation in Sam’s nose distracted her from her bleak thoughts.
I am not going to cry.
They will come for me.
I can get through this.

I decided to take a shot at drawing and drew my original akuma, Icelator.

Originally I had designed my akuma using Create-a-Sim on the Sims 4 since I kinda suck at drawing, but I decided to give it a try anyway.

So here's something I thought abt Friday
What if their was an another and WAY more disturbing way to merge with your element
What if when an elemental master starts to lose their mind and drive into insanity there's like stages of what's going to happen to their element. At first, their element starts to act out, but slowly like once every 5 days, then if the elemental master's mental health has done nothing but deteriorate, then I'm the element just starts lashing out and complete going after the stuff and ppl around the elemental master as a way to WARN the elemental master to stop and get the help they need. But if nothing happens then the element slowly starts to merge with the elemental master and they won't realize it until the transformation is more than halfway done and by then, there's nothing they can do abt it besides let it happen unwillingly. And once the merging part is completely finished, the elemental master starts to slowly lose their memories bc it's the only thing the element can do to put the elemental master out of their misery. Once their memories are completely erased, they're officially one with their element and don't question it at all. Unlike Nya, who did manage to separate herself from her element, the elemental master that went insane CANNOT separate from their element or remember anything from their past, no matter what happens, they're just stuck there for the rest of eternity.

I’m just saying, Jack Frost and Danny would totally get along!! Like, both of them died and came back(ish) with white hair and new powers, and well —Danny is only half dead— but still! There’s already a lot of things they have in common on a more personal level.
I just think they’d be bros is all, that’s it!
(Also the fact that their ‘hero’ names are just based off of or puns of their actual names- JACKson Overland FROST, DANNY Phantom!!! They are not hiding it guys)
(Plus barely anyone can see Jack unless they believe, so I bet he certainly feels like a ghost most of the time and I think out of everyone ghosts would definitely be able to see him)

So, both Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire and the novelization of Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire both start with the same poem by Robert Frost.
That probably means something, right?

OK, my mom came home with this T-shirt like "I saw it and thought you'd want it" and I'm projecting hard because I can clearly picture Rhyme doing the same thing for Reason.

I am severely wounded that I cannot draw Reason wearing this T-shirt.

𝐥𝐲𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐬  𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 :  𝐩𝐢𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐞  𝐭𝐡𝐞  𝐯𝐞𝐢𝐥  — [Accepting]
@brutalage
The comment irked her to some degree, though her poker face remained impenetrable. She looked toward Savage with a disinterested look, through narrow eyes. She saw how little she thought of him. Just some crazy crackpot, he was probably thinking. She could see it in his eyes, the way he measured her up to standards he had set via his own expectations for this planet. For this world. It was here that she began to realize that Vandal Savage had not been measured against her standards... for all of the worlds she had been too. She took a sharp inhale, sitting in the chair near his fireplace... in his home... in his study. In his trophy room. She had made the great Vandal Savage and all his mansion's staff, all the kingsmen and kingshorses... look like great big fools. She should be giddy at this sort of thing. She should be excited and giggly like she usually is.
Not bored...
and yet she was. She was bored of him. He imagined he was big. This man across from her imagined that he must be the center of the universe. This man must've imagined that in the great, long, unending list of conquerers— that his name would leave an impression. It was boring. Simply boring. All due to the fact that she had seen this act done before across several civilizations and times. She knew it by heart. This disgusting ideology that only one singular being can be ruler of all. That one man can be the god-king emperor. Her eyes narrowed, as she sat lounged, leaning back in the chair within his study. Her legs were crossed over one another, her elbow resting on the armrest and her fingers covering her mouth as she stared quietly, through narrow eyes.
She must remind him of his place.
She moved to rest both of her arms against the armrest, fingers dancing on the edge before firmly tightening. Her legs uncrossed as she braced herself to stare firmly. She took in one exhale, turning her nose up just a bit at him. Finally, she stood, and slowly. Then it happened, inch by inch... moment by moment passed... the room growing heavier, until this sudden chill ran down... the fire in the study beginning to go out.
The two were in darkness. Pale moonlight streamed through the curtains, but it was total darkness. The Doctor rested her fingers softly against her lapel, before silently and slowly... one hand sunk down to her side. She had no weapons, and yet she was prepared to shoot down Vandal Savage. Her imposing nature, her chill. Vandal Savage was not in the room with The Doctor. No. He was in the room with someone who was eldritch in their nature. Someone very old and endless. A woman who had lived much longer than him, and had seen much more. Someone who had seen the turn of the universe, and had known from the very start her place in it all. Despite knowing her fate, this figure still warped destiny to her own desires, fighting it day and night... and winning.
The slowly growing shadow behind her choked out the pale light from the edge of the curtain. A trick the figure had picked up over her long travels: the ability to use her mind like a scalpel... and right now, her cuts were precise and methodical. Her eyes and their piercing white glow seemed to be the only other light in the room when the chill darkness snuffed everything else out... aside from, again, a few streams of moonlight from behind the curtain. She took something from her coat pocket, resting it between her fingers and caressing her thumb over it, but never taking her eyes off of Savage... keeping his locked on her...
Until she spoke...
And her voice carried her words with a weight that perhaps even not the immortal self-proclaimed king could lift.
"You are small."

Tall cocky villain teasing short hero 🫶🏻🫶🏻
Hi Anon! This sounds fun! Thanks for requesting this, here you go!
“How’s the weather down there?”
Hero bristled and turned. Villain strode over to them, an entire six feet and three inches tall. Hero, meanwhile, glared up at them, only five feet and two inches tall. Much shorter than Villain, and right now, much more annoyed.
“What do you want?” Hero bit out.
Villain continued to advance until they and Hero were mere inches apart. They looked down at them with a smug grin on their face.
“I was just wondering, when you make your breakfast in the morning, do you have to get a stepladder to reach the counter, or do you just jump as high as you can and hope for the best?”
“What?”
Villain chuckled and rested their arm on Hero’s head.
“Also, are you sure you’re cut out for this whole hero thing? I heard the garden gnomes are accepting applications, and- gah!”
Hero had charged up ice crystals and punched Villain right in the gut.
“Heh, I guess you’ve got a short fuse, much like the rest of you,” Villain said with a wince.
Hero summoned more ice crystals into their hands.
“Give me one good reason I shouldn’t turn you into a popsicle,” Hero growled.
Villain grinned and formed two flames in their hands.
“So you can feed me to the other kids?” they asked innocently.
Hero lunged, hurling two ice beams at Villain. Villain released a flame in a wide arc to shield themselves, then aimed a fist toward Hero’s jaw. Hero countered the punch and sent icy throwing stars toward Villain. Villain was pinned to the rooftop wall. Before Hero could strike, Villain melted the ice with their power and jumped to the rooftop ledge.
“As fun as this has been,” Villain said, “Henchman has been raiding Museum, and I’m supposed to meet up with them. Until next time, Hero.”
Villain gracefully leapt off the rooftop ledge and down to a fire escape, creating a wall of flames behind them, leaving Hero to fume by themselves.

Personally, I envisioned The Flash's series finale involving a scene with Barry, Caitlin, and Cisco all teaming up in the field again, with Iris on comms in the Cortex, Kamilla and Joe helping somehow from the S.T.A.R. Labs van, close to where the O.G.s are doing their thing, the JV Squad being Somewhere Else, idc where, just not in this scene, Mark being long gone past the point of anyone mentioning or thinking about him, and Starlight by Muse playing in the background.
#The Flash#O.G. Team Flash#Killblaine#and then the music changes eventually of course but Starlight would be GREAT for getting the action started#O.G. Team Flash can either all be fighting the villain(s) together or they can divide and conquer#maybe it starts out like the would-be season 6 finale and then transitions into something more like the season 4 finale#(next-to-last episode of season 4?)#(whenever they stormed A.R.G.U.S. idk)#or maybe they start out split up and then all come together for a fight scene#maybe Kamilla's job is directing Cisco through a large facility where he has to hack/take something#and Caitlin is either off freeing hostages or fighting off villain henchmen trying to get into the building#while Barry confronts the Big Bad head-on and fights them/keeps them monologuing long enough for Caitlin & Cisco to do what they need to do#Caitlin has ice powers in this btw#with the turn the show took a few seasons back it wouldn't have been doable anymore#but I'm still attached to the idea that Frost was just Caitlin's repressed side#and Caitlin would eventually figure herself out and come into her own#taking on Frost's powers and confidence and becoming a balanced combination of both sides#who likes dressing like a high school principal AND a badass club-going gal#(RIP Caitlin's versatile style)#also yes this goes along with the scenario(s) I imagined for the Reverse Flash's last stand#whether or not he's a part of the season-long plot he'd still be a vital part of the finale#and be taken down in a way that makes sense and is significant to his history with Team Flash (in particular Barry and Cisco)
