Liveblog time!! Occurs to me to mention, but if I ever find the old recorded DVDs, I have access to VeggieTales Qubo episodes! So we may get some Qubo exclusive content soon. If I can, I may even try to see if I can film a video reacting to an ep live, but honestly I'm not really sure that would be very entertaining. That LIKELY wouldn't be until October, when I have a major week off and people won't be home to judge me lmao.
Anyway, currently deciding on an ep for tonight. I'm not a fan of using the Pureflix trial (for many, many reasons) but also because blah, the captions suck (too small) and taking screenshots is awful. But! If you have any you'd like to suggest, I'll find it! There's a bunch of options and I can access pretty much any ep. So let me know in the next half hour! I'll be otherwise looking around meanwhile. (Qubo episode requests also permissed, I don't think they're actually going to be that hard to find since I saw them recently. I'm going to check currently.)
EDIT:
the joke here is that I hit "publish", looked up, and INSTANTLY my eyes locked on the DVDs recorded from 2006-2008ish. So, here's the Vegetables:
3-2-1 Penguins (Eps: 'Songs From Cosmic Cafe' 'The Doom Funnel Rescue' 'The Amazing Carnival of Complaining' 'The Cheating Scales of Bullamanka')
QUBO ('A Snoodles Tale' <- THIS IS WHERE I'VE SEEN IT BTW I HAD IT RECORDED ON DVD STRAIGHT FROM QUBO 'Babysitter in Denile' 'Dr Jiggle and Mr Sly' 'Bully Trouble' 'Duke and the Great Pie War' 'Sumon of the Opera' 'Madame Blueberry' 'Dave and the Giant Pickle' 'the Asparagus of Lamancha' 'Sheerluck Holmes and the Golden Ruler' 'Minnesota Cuke and the Search for Samson's Hairbrush' 'Lyle the Kindly Viking' 'King George and the Ducky')
(potentially the TBN version) Star of Christmas
Cartoon Adventures of Larry-Boy: The Good The Bad and the Eggly (also the Yodelnapper)
Larry Boy and the Bad Apple!!!

@bunny-coffee
Tumblr media
:00 Really? Thank you!! :DD I was actually pretty unsure of that detail for Jevil.. Making him round and squishy kind'a made him look too young to me.. but I'm so glad you like it! Maybe his squishiness isn't so bad! :D
Tumblr media
:DDD Happy new year!! 💖🎉🥳🎉💖
Tumblr media
XD Its been a while since I watched the movie. But I think my reaction was something along the lines of:
"..oh?.... OH..?.... OH YOOOOO---" *excited for angst noises XDD*
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Thank you!! :DD As for his knuckle scars, there isn't really one specific way he got them. It just shows that he's rough and tough. He's been through a lot and has been on many dangerous missions.
You know, scraping his hands on rocks, dealing with sharp teethed and dangerous creatures every day.. Your hands would naturally get beat up a lot of you lived like Kwazii.
Tumblr media
Aww! How fun! I'm sure Foxy wouldn't mind the company! :}
Tumblr media
Foxy: "Oh? Are you a new animatronic?"
Calico Jack: "BIG TALKIN ROBOT-"
Tumblr media
Now usually I would say Calico Jack. And its probably still true.. but considering how I'm trying to structure my Octonauts AU.. Inkling might actually be the one who's studied up more on folk tales and mythologies.. 👀
Tumblr media
@rockbott0m47 (huh.. in all my days I don't think I've ever received a question like this XDD)
I try to be as factual as possible.. but in all honesty, my factual stops where the lazy begins-
Tumblr media Tumblr media
XDD You're welcome?? Ah- Sorry for your loss?? XD I'm not sure how you feel about this realization but none the less thank you! I'm so glad you've liked my artwork! :DD

Tumblr media
WAAAAAHGG THANB YIU SO MCUH!!! ITS SO COOL TO ME THAT YOU SAW ALL THOSE DETAILS!!
Yes exactly! Shellington's "VEGGIE DAD" shirt, Kwazii's bent whiskers and scars.. AND YES YES! THE CAPTAIN IN FULL UNIFORM!! I was thinking that he is an early riser and was up before everyone else was. He's not intending to eat later- he's just already had breakfast! :0
AND YES!! The meals were all correct but one <XD google says that sea otters eat crab. So I googled "crab meat meal" and drew one of the things that came up. It might be a salad thing..? Or a crab pasta thingy.?? Not sure <XDD But MAN the potatoes would have been a good idea too-
One detail that I was fond of was the steam coming from everyone's cups. Though Peso and Barnacles have no steam, because they're drinking cold drinks! You get it?? Becuase they are cold creatures?? Don't like warm things??? I'm so smart 🤣
Tumblr media
@itschrisboys
YOOOO THIS IS A REALLY SOLID IDEA!! She could have the guilt of having killed everyone, while also trying to give everyone their happy ending.. Cool! Would you mind if I used this idea? Or at least part of it? Its really neat! :00
Tumblr media
@britneyt
:DD Thank you! I'm glad you like that design detail of his XDD
Also thank you again! Happy new year!! 🎉🥳🎉
Tumblr media
@beryl-shade
XD My first thought was Glamrock Freddy; "HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO HIDE YOU NOW GREGORY??"
Tumblr media
I do! I'll have to draw them sometime-

not an ask, I just laughed when I saw this meme and I thought of how you and other snow bunnies get overwhelmed by us cucks showing up in your space all the time. Perhaps all white beta cucks need to remind themselves of this important veggie tale lesson.
White guys are used to living in a world where they're the center of attention. The world is changing, and as a white guy you can react in three different ways:
You can reject the new world, trying to prevent the world from changing or retreating from it in your own little bubble. This is the road taken by racists, nationalists, incels etc., marching with Swastica flags or sharing racist memes in their own little online forums.
You can accept the new world and try to find some way of staying at the center of attention. This is the road taken by like 90 % of white guy cucks, sending snowbunny blogs asks like: "I want to make my wife/girlfriend go black, any advice?" Umm, what does she want? Do you know? Do you even care?
You can embrace the new world and recognize the fact that your place in it also needs to change. There's a few gifted white guys who get this. They celebrate the fact that Black men are taking their place and don't try to find some way of making it all revolve around them.

First, thank you to our lovely host for running this shitshow on thier side blog. You are one of the helper Mr. Roger said to look for.
Second, pirates have always been problematic.....we are adult enough now to talk about it. (No disrespect to veggie tales but "the pirates who dont do anything" are mearly confused seafaring vegetables who like fun outfits. They are not pirates, they are one narritive step away from a coconut floating aimlessly at sea)
.....but maybe it shouldn't be a question of which charecter based off a real historical charecter was "worse or better"
Maybe the question should be, how much should we, as consumers of media, separate the charecter in the story from there historic counterparts. And does acknowledging or ignoring that information help us engage with the medias story/ and or the world around us
On that note.
THE FACT THAT ALL'YALL LET LUFFY LOESE WHILE COMPLAINING ABOUT PIRATES INVOLVED IN THE SLAVE TRADE IS SO STUPID....
Our boy Monkey D.Luffy, the current best selling charecter in the world! is violently Anti slavery and violently anti government and a queer poc.
And I respect all you motherfuckers (complimentary) and I think you are having good conversations....but you either have to figure out how to deal with the history behind beloved charecter or pick charecter that don't have these issues.
I don't think Luffy should be readmitted into the bracket. But I do think we will have to live with the results of these choices
Thank you for comming to my anonymous TED talk
And please pardon any spelling errors, my family bears an ancient curse called "dislexia"
Luffy's in the lead as of now. There are less than 2 hours remaining in his poll

Hi!!! Thanks!! Here come some probably-not-very-coherent but very rambling answers that I hope can satisfy, feel free to ask follow up questions if you want~
🍉 Fruit:
Strawberries!!!!!! The ultimate fruit and the ultimate flavor!!
I fuckin love berries!! Blueberries, raspberries~ Most berries are great. Except blackberries. (Gooseberries!!! More people need to realize the goodness of gooseberries). Peaches, Granny Smith apples, the occasional clementine…
🥦 Veggie:
Tomatoes!!!! I know they’re technically a fruit but I’ve got autism food pickiness and people put them in salad so they count. And I fucking love tomatoes I’ll eat a fucker like an apple give it to me
🎲 Game:
Videogame: Pokémon Emerald
Boardgame: Mancala, Backgammon
😇 Blorbo:
I have too many and it’s not like I rank them I don’t play favorites with my children. You can just go back in this blog and you’ll figure it out p easy if you’ve got time, patience, and enough curiosity.
Like you’ll find a good chunk of like 2019-2023 of p consistent Witcher Jaskier content that I’m not currently in bc I’ve been overcome with a new hyperfixation.
If you want the ones I’ve had the longest….
The ones I still post about/interact with/have strong feelings for now that I loved before high school (context- my last year of middle school/first year of high school was 2010) are…
- Shawn Spencer, Psych
- Sherlock Holmes, Sherlock Homes stories- Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (Specifically the Books/Short Stories)
And the main ones from high school/college (2011-2016?) are…
- The Doctor, Doctor Who (the whole character every incarnation that’s my baby right there)
- Roronoa Zoro, One Piece (the original boi, I made this tumblr to find and collect fanart of him in like 2014 or something so all the OGs that still follow me on here from my One Piece days are real ones)
I got into anime as a whole around then, so there are too many anime blorbos; I’m not listing them all, but most are voiced by Kazuya Nakai or Daisuke Ono, or is a girl from Love Live.
Currently I’m fucking obsessed with Hazbin Hotel/Helluva Boss so it’s hard to think of other things and I know like it’s one of the most annoying fandoms someone could suddenly attack your dash with but I can’t help it I’m compelled by these fuckin guys
📚 Book(s):
The Princess Bride: S. Morganstern’s Classic Tale of True Love and High Adventure- William Goldman
The Complete Sherlock Holmes- Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
Amelia Peabody mysteries- Elizabeth Peters
Mary Russell mysteries (specifically the first two: The Beekeepers Apprentice: or, On the Segregation of the Queen; and A Monstrous Regiment of Women)- Laurie R. King
Harry Dresden series- Jim Butcher
Nancy Drew mysteries- Carolyn Keene
Phryne Fisher mysteries- Kerry Greenwood
Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch- Terry Pratchet & Neil Gaiman
Mrs. Murphy mysteries- Rita Mae Brown & Sneaky Pie Brown
I have too many I’m sorry I’ll stop here; I could read before kindergarten, going to the library was my main weekend fun activity to do with mom as a child, my high school senior superlative was “Biggest Reader,” I was reading while walking between classes and everyone apparently noticed even when they didn’t talk to me. I like mysteries~

So some time ago I was on @valiisthea's blog and saw some Bingo cards and I was like... Hey, those look like fun to fill out as the Viera Dragoon herself! Plus they appear to need a pick-me-up and that I can do!
(Let's just pretend that nobody in the FF16-verse is confused by what appears to be someone with bunny ears)
If there's not a star but a confused-Jack-head, that's a "it depends" and I'm not counting it as a mark. Some things I'll go into depth more since... I like talking about my character.
Tumblr media
"Ummm, Jack? You know you have an incompatible orientation with Dion and Terence so why did you fill these out?"
"Seemed like fun."
Yes, I'm aware of the irony that there's so many lines with someone that wouldn't work out. Though between the masculine name, flat chest, and deeper voice, it would be easy to mistake Jack for a prettyboy at first.
Can cook: While Jack may not have levelled cooking very high so don't expect anything fancy, her angling and gathering skills combined with the constant travel means she excels at grilling fish and veggies over an open flame.
Can backflip: She's a Dragoon! Of course!
Adrenaline Junkie: Her drive to be a powerful and brave knight means she's constantly willing to throw herself into danger no matter what it is. While most Dragoons jump into battle, she likes making a grand entrance by scattering foes atop her Behemoth mount.
Likes flying/dragons: Her wish as a child was to be able to jump high enough to touch the stars, so any time she's able to fly is when she's happy. The old fairy-tales made her wary of dragons at first, but she eventually started to come around to them.
Sexually dominant: Marked as "It depends" because Jack is very much someone who can go either way, be it dominance or gender (or desserts. Was once given a round of booing by her Free Company for declaring herself "bisnackxual" when asked if she preferred cakes or pies)
Tumblr media
Not squeamish: She's a master of skinning, butchery, and preparing fish, so blood and guts don't phase her... though getting attacked by seagulls while gutting fish will!
Will spar with him: Yaaaaas! It's one of Jack's favourite things, once again inspired by tales of swordfights and jousting knights. While she's usually pretty gentle and easy-going, she's almost a beast once blades begin crossing. (Usually followed by apologies if she went a bit too rough)
Hair pets/physical touch/etc.: Jack can be incredibly touchy-feely with everyone, whether it's resting her arm on their shoulder or giving them a playful few mock-jabs. If she's the little spoon, she likes draping her ears back over the big spoon's shoulders.
Will read to him: And HOW! This Don Quixiote in a bunny's body loves to read stories about heroes, so you know she'll love sharing with others.
Elegance/grace (it depends): On one hand, she's a Dragoon. On the other hand, she has ridden her Behemoth off a cliff on more occasions to count.
Tumblr media
Murder :3: Biiiiiig no. While Jack accepts that sometimes taking lives is par for the course, she does so for food, or culling wild creatures, or taking down people known for doing bad things. Even then, she still doesn't like taking lives.
Biting/Scratching: Generally, bunnies may bite gently at people as a form of bonding, like they're trying to help their owners groom. This carries over to Viera instincts as well.
Smoke breaks/strong (physically): Since Jack makes it a habit to stay in peak physical condition, smoking is a BIG no for her. Expect her to immediately be a few hundred paces away between the moment the spark lights up and the moment the smoke starts.
Rough in bed (it depends): While Jack is more willing to be dominant at times (and the whole biting thing) she doesn't like going too hard. Don't suggest breathplay, for example, because she's gonna be the one hyperventilating because she panicked over the worry of accidentally going to far.
Tumblr media
Stargazing: Big yes! Jack's love of the night sky is a big motivator for her being a Dragoon.
Best him in sword practice (It depends): Jack's much better with a lance than a sword, so while she does her best, being able to best him might not always come easy.
Let him hear your hearbeat: Absolutely willing, though she does worry that he'd worry she's unwell because Viera hearts are naturally much faster (believe me, it took her some time to learn that Hyur/human heart-rates being much slower is normal. Poor bun keeps getting panicked when a party member goes down and she checks for signs of life because she thinks their pulse is dangerously slow. Let us be thankful she's a Dragoon and not someone with access to Thundaga)
Likes semi-grumpy dudes: Oh, she has plenty of practice hanging out with Estinien.
Loves Chocobos: While Behemoth is her preferred ride of choice, she still has a stable full of Chocobos. Her first one, Nugget, still is at her side.
Tumblr media
Well whaddaya know, Barny. You were able to get a Bingo because Jack is... not dead. Despite how many times she ends up riding Behemoth off a cliff.
Genuinely care for him/can tolerate trauma: Ever since the Seventh Umbral Calamity, Jack can empathize with trauma. She's also an incredible listener - those big ears aren't for show!
Must be into old men (it depends): Much like how Jack might get confused with the difference between Viera and Hyur/human biology, she will especially get confused with the difference between their aging. If one race lives much longer than the other, what is the threshold for "old"? (Cue Jack counting on her fingers and mumbling)
A loyal horse (it depends): *Patrick Star voice* Is Behemoth a horse?
Must not be deceitful: Jack might be completely incapable of lying. Maybe that's why she's bad at poker games, she can't bluff even when she can tell others might be bluffing.
Tumblr media
Well, this might be the most bingos. I think we can all agree that Clive is just rolling 20s in Charisma.
Social drinking: Not just social drinking, but if a bar fight breaks out you can guarantee that Jack will have Clive's back.
Dog person: Her beloved Bullpup, Cerberpup, and Corgi can attest to that!
Equality/Do the right thing: Jack sees or hears bigotry? Out comes the lance. And since I found it refreshing that Clive wasn't doing the tired "Nooooo, revenge is bad!" cliche with Jill, I'm sure that he'd have Invictus out just as fast.
Well, that was fun to explore my character a bit more!

Note
why are you trying to make nari evil she's the only good one in the arcane order?
(re: this post I’m assuming)
sorry anon you've unlocked my trap card. now i can draw infodumping from my hand and place it face up on the board
tl;dr: Nari isn't evil -- but neither is the arcane order. It's just that nari is the only one of the three who isn't okay with the suffering that would be caused by doing her job of maintaining the balance.
from what i can tell, the order's morality isn't Good or Evil in Tales of Arcadia: Wizards. (I do not see Rise of the Titans. I am not looking.) i've had this blog since wizards first came out, so my interpretation of nari is largely from there, with only some points here and there taken from Nari.
(aside: i feel so vindicated with how she acted in the police station. this bug is feral and i love her)
they're antagonists for sure, and they're rivals, but their morality isn't good. Instead, it's sort of more focussed on the good of the balance between magic and mortals and keeping that in check. there isn't much explanation as to what that means in canon, but I think it's sort of a chaos vs order thing -- too much of one and the world explodes. too much of the other and it's rendered inert.
before the battle of killahead, while each demigod has their own personality, they seem to be of the same mind when it comes to the end goal: protect the balance, no matter how many mortals get hurt along the way. (Mortals, in this case, meaning anyone who is not a primordial wizard.) It's a matter of good of the many (the balance) vs the goods of the few or the one (mortals).
Coupled with their duty to the balance, i have the interpretation that they're simply too disconnected from the world of mortals to understand what pain is -- skrael and bellroc moreso than nari, which i'll get to in a minute. But they're so powerful and ancient that it's easy for them to feel Apart from the mortals, because of how short their lives are and how small their magic is in comparison. Kind of like how most humans view squirrels -- they're creatures living their own lives and having their own drama, but, ultimately, we are far more advanced.
to continue the metaphor -- the world at the time of killahead is something along the lines of a tree that's overgrown the sidewalk and is causing problems, in my mind. Yes, squirrels have made their home in it, but it's causing too much trouble to the humans living in the area, so it has to be cut down. It's not done to cause direct harm to the squirrels. it's just that the action of cutting down the tree will cause direct or indirect harm to the squirrels.
(I've used this metaphor way too often with the order lol)
So they aren't remaking the world because they hate humans specifically. Most definitions of evil is someone who wants explicitly to do other's harm. In my mind, the order doesn't want explicitly to do people harm. They don't care about people. Well -- they don't like them, and perhaps they aren't happy about the amount of people who will die when they remake the world, but it's certainly more than justifiable in their mind considering the ends they're pursuing.
And that takes me to pain. Nari explicitly says she can sense all souls, but it's not clear whether she can sense their pain and suffering. Rather, she seems to be right on board with the order's methods all the way up until she sees Killahead directly. Once she sees the pain -- once it becomes real for her -- she can't dismiss it as a necessary evil that comes with keeping the balance in line. She can't depersonalize it or separate herself from it.
Sure, she's able to occasionally Look into the aether and see souls winking out here and there due to the destruction being caused, but it's different from seeing it up close. And she realizes what they're doing has real and tangible effects and she can't do her duty anymore. It's not that remaking the world is wrong. It's not that the demigods are misguided.
"It's not worth it."
Those are nari's words when she realizes what they've done. The cost is too high. They can't move forward.
I think, were this turned around and the order were to be shown as the protagonists, nari would be written to be a coward. It's all about doing your duty until you face the consequences of your actions, and you can't keep your word. Instead of trying to stop things, she runs. She hides. for nine centuries, she spends her life hidden in a castle away from the world.
We don't see what she does, but I think she learns. I think she asks questions and learns how people work, and how trolls work. I think, once she has the chance to be up close and personal to living people -- even if it's just galahad for the majority of the time -- she falls in love with them. it's hard not to. The way they change and grow and create. The idea of constellations is as much a wonder to her now as it had been the first time she heard about it.
And her desire to protect mortals grow with it. The more she learns, the more her heart becomes entangled with the very world she once wanted to remake. To hell with her orders and her duty -- she's doing what she thinks is right.
By hiding. By doing nothing. We see in Rott that it's probably the only thing for it, considering mind control, but i'm iffy on whether that's something that's canon for me or not. It feels a bit too convenient, considering we've seen such massive power on her end.
She's ancient, but she learns in a few short years what it means to have friends. Her love for humanity is what separates her from the order but, on an objective level, that doesn't make her good, or even Not Evil. Ultimately, it's a human thing to label her as good because her intentions align with protecting us, rather than protecting this vague, enigmatic concept of The Balance that we get so little understanding about. Maybe if we as an audience got more, we would understand why it mattered enough to destroy the entire world to repair it, but we don't, so it's easier to side with the tangible "protect humans at all costs" goal over the intangible "repair the balance at all costs" goal
And the order cares about each other. The way nari teases bellroc and skrael, the way bellroc snaps at skrael -- it feels like a band of siblings. It feels like a family. There's more to them than evil. (And rott did a disservice by trying to make them such. Even at the end, bellroc showed empathy. They could have killed jim when they were certain of their victory, but they told him to go to his family. There's a heart in there, however much it may be of blackened stone.)
(But that's another story entirely.)
There's stories about the fair folk that come to mind, with their strange morals and rules. A lot of stories paint these fairies as evil because their punishments seemed harsher than what humans would expect for certain infractions, while their games often included things that hurt humans. But it's not because they wanted to hurt humans directly. (Okay, a lot of them did, but many of them didn't). It's that what they consider good and bad is so far removed from humanity, because they are not and have never been human. They're simply existing alongside them in the same world.
In conclusion, the order isn't evil. But because their goals don't include the welfare of humans, it's easy to label them as such - and because nari's goals ultimately were protecting humanity, it's easy to label her as good. But the order themselves are too far removed from humanity for me, personally, to label them in terms of explicit morals.
Nari is kind. She is clever, and she's capable of learning, and she's curious. She is herself -- but if we call her good, that's on us, whatever comes of it. She may be capable of change, but she is only ever herself, whatever shape that takes
also veggie lady good character and i love her. grey morality and all.

For those of you who are looking for your next ship obsession and a show to binge to erase whatever the actual fuck we just watched...
Oh boy, do I have a show for you.
Tumblr media
(Don’t worry, it’s not Veggie Tales.)
Reasons to watch Queen of the South (streamable on Netflix):
James Valdez. He is essentially Bellamy Blake, but with aviators.
Tumblr media
A Bellarke dynamic to die for. (Except this one has a much more satisfying payoff so far!)
The showrunner doesn't suck ass. Fans are openly appreciated and updated on show news without being baited or called stupid. Groundbreaking.
James Valdez, because he deserves to be on this list twice. For my lady-leaning friends, the main female lead is also a stunningly badass woman who is very drool-worthy.
Tumblr media
A badass and complex cast of POC, and a storyline that more beautifully touches on themes such as humanity and morality and "doing better" in a realistic, yet satisfying way.
Jason Rothenberg can't touch this show with a 10-ft pole.
There is a budding Discord server filled with amazing humans ready for your live blogging, fanfic sharing, beautiful selves to join to share in the magic that is Jeresa and QotS.
One more time because I'm obsessed: James. Valdez. In. A. Henley. And. Aviators.
Sound like a good time? It is. Join us. Watch Queen of the South, and DM me to join the Discord server!

I’m trying to hype myself up to get writing again and to finally post on my neglected, Real and Official website’s blog by doing a written post here first. Tumblr has been feeling like a sketchbook lately, a place that feels comfortable and secret enough to be a bit messier and more casual.
I wanted to share some things I’ve been enjoying lately because I like when others share their favorites, especially during this time when I don’t have much interaction with the outside world and random encounters and conversations. It’s a long one since I had a week and a half of mini vacation while I was dog/house sitting my dog nieces, and had lots of time for TV and books.
Alright, let’s get to it!
Watching
Sex Education - I watched this whole show--yes, all 3 seasons :O--in about 4 days and fell in love with the characters. I love how character-driven the show was (well, season 3, not so much); the range of representation; the friendships; the beautiful settings (the patterned wallpaper, Otis’s entire house, how the characters biked through the forest to get to school); and the costumes.
Luca - This didn’t feel exactly like a big, innovative Pixar movie, but I don’t think Pixar has felt like that in a while. This one was quieter, with a focus on friendship and being different. It almost felt like a Ghibli film. The sea monster designs were funky, but had beautiful elements (the way they flowed, the colors), and I overall liked the round style of these characters and the sunny Italian setting.
Leena Norms’s video “How to Break Up with Amazon. For Good.” - So good and not judgy.
Marion Honey’s recently uploaded nostalgic video made up of footage from 2017 brought me back to that era in my life, of taking the Metro North and absorbing the dreamy scenery blurring by the window; of dreaming big impossible dreams; of being dissatisfied with city and office life; of wandering around bookshops and museums; of going on adventures with friends. It’s a perfect bubble of a memory that isn’t mine.
Reading
Unlikely Animals - Annie Hartnett has a new book coming out! I loooved Rabbit Cake, which remains my favorite, but I enjoyed spending time in this odd New Hampshire town with the resident ghosts who narrate this tale of a lost 20-something who has returned home, a man losing his mind, a recovering drug addict brother, missing people, and a classroom of fifth graders. It ties up too neatly, but I prefer the turn towards optimism instead of a darker place where it could’ve easily gone.
Paper Girls - I had read parts of this comic in disjointed installments, but recently got my hands on the full series. It’s definitely best read in one sitting! I usually can’t stand time travel, but this one felt pretty tight and without major loopholes. It's about your future, your past, your shortcomings as an adult, what you lost along the way, regrets, anxieties about the future, and living in the now--no revisions, no take backs. In the end, it opens the door to a better, brighter alternate present where these paper girls have a real chance at friendship. Also, ‘80s vibes.
Misc.
Taking time off social media - my brain felt so clear and quiet 😊
Veggie pizza with artichokes, spinach, and roasted red peppers
Melty, crispy egg toast for breakfast with garlic aioli and mozzarella
Dog cuddles
Starting a new journal
Voice notes from friends - it’s like having a personal podcast

DAY 43, SEPT 13, Inverness, Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
Today we were both really excited for our tour of the Isle of Skye! Sam has been to Inverness before but hadn’t gotten the chance to see this place or as much of the highlands as he had wanted. Our tour left at 8am from the Inverness Bus Station and we didn’t have any groceries so we quickly got a bite to eat from the Starbucks (Chels was not happy about this, she’s not a ‘Bucks fan, but they had vegan breakfast sandwich and vegan whipped cream so she was pretty happy about that!) nearby and hopped on the bus.
Tumblr media
Our tour guide was a woman named Helen, who was a hilarious, feisty, and super knowledgeable Scottish woman. She was really funny while driving, shouting at all the cars who were driving badly. Our first stop was Urquhart castle, an old castle ruin on the shores of Loch Ness. It was really beautiful to see it from above. Helen told us lots of legends and stories and history about Loch Ness and the famous monster that may/may not have lived there. #papafact (gonna insert these throughout this post because they’re the bits Chelsea’s grandpa would have loved and told everyone and their mother after the tour) number one: the reason Loch Ness is so dark is because of the peat! Scotland is full of this type of earth because it is so wet here. So the color of the lake is actually black, not blue!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Next stop was Eileen Donan castle, a 1930s remake of an old Scottish clan’s castle that was destroyed by Britain during the Jacobite period. We also learned a lot about this Jacobite rebellion (#papafact) and how it shaped the culture and history of Scotland forever. It’s a super interesting and sad story but it was new to both of us. The castle was cool from the outside. We decided not to pay extra to go in (pro tip, it’s almost never worth it) and we made the right call.
Tumblr media
We also got the chance to see some hairy Scottish highland cows on the way to the Black Cuillins on Skye. Chels was ecstatic. She loves cows so much folks!
Tumblr media
The Black Cuillins are volcanic, ominous looking mountains on Skye, south of Portree and they were really amazing to see. We also stopped at the Sligachan river to test out an old fairy tale that if you held your face under the water for 7 seconds the water and the fairies will make you beautiful. Turns out it doesn’t work if you already are 😉 😂 .
At this point we were getting pretty hungry so we headed up to Portree for lunch! Sam got fish n chips and Chels had a veggie burger. We ate at the top of the Lump (had a great view) and then walked around town a bit (the harbor, etc). Chels did a bit of shopping while Sam had a beer and then we loaded back onto the bus again, heading for Kilt rock.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kilt rock is a basalt formation made from the same volcanic activity as the Giants Causeway we saw in Ireland (#papafact) and it had a pretty waterfall. The cliff side with the backdrop of the Torridon mountains on the Scottish mainland was unbelievably beautiful.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
From there, we drove up to Quiraing, a saddle ridge in the mountains where farmers used to take their cattle during Viking attacks (#papafact). The views were outstanding. So much open space and untouched beauty! This was definitely a highlight for us. Will post more pics on next blog post!
And there you have it folks! That was our Scottish Highlands & Isle of Skye tour! From there we just drove back to Inverness, taking a break at Kyleakin for some scotch for Sam, and 3 hours later we were back.
We were pretty hungry so we got a recommendation from Helen to go to this pizza and brewpub spot called the Black Isle. It was delicious and they even had vegan options too. The beers were excellent as well. All in all we had an amazing day. Scotland has been such a beautiful place.

Beautiful Mess Part 2
A Brian May x Reader Fic
Tumblr media
Summary: Reader works in a bookshop. She meets Brian May and they have an instant connection. It seems to be a fairy tale romance. But, things are seldom what they seem.
Word Count: 2.6k
Tag List: @psychosupernatural, @someone-get-a-medic, @bensrhapsody, @deakyclicks, @crazylittlethingcalledobsession, @minigranger, @crazyweirdocalledfriday, @mrs-jack-murphy, @not-john-watsons-blog, @simmisblog, @mirkwoodshewolf, @assembledherethevolunteers, @thosequeenboys, @lv7867 If you’d like to be added, let me know!
A/N: Ah...the plot thickens. A hint of a conflict arises.
Part 1
Part 2 here we go!!!
“Are you quite certain we’ve never met before?” Brian asked, popping a French fry into his mouth.
You decided on a casual dinner of veggie burgers and fries, since you knew things needed to remain friendly. He watched you for a response, blinking a few times in a way that was uniquely Brian.
“Do you believe in past lives?” you returned.
His brow furrowed and he shook his head. “No, not really.”
“Shame,” you replied, raising an eyebrow at him as you ate a fry. “It would have been an awfully convenient explanation.”
He chuckled. “Convenient, perhaps, but not very logical.”
“Situations like this rarely are,” you said.
“True,” he agreed. “But since I don’t know you, you’ll have to tell me more about yourself.”
“What would like to know?”
He looked away, tapping his chin with his finger.
“Where do you live?” he asked.
“Oh, very subtle,” you teased.
His cheeks went pink. “I just -”
“Relax, Brian,” you said with a laugh. “I know.”
He smiled and you cocked your head. “What is it?”
“I like that,” he said.
“Like what?”
“How you say my name.”
It was your turn to blush. Brian’s name rolled off your tongue naturally. You briefly imagined all the ways you could say it and smiled to yourself. Brian just loved the way it sounded with your voice.
“To answer your question, I live in a flat just around the corner from the shop,” you said. “I walk to and from work every day.”
“You live alone?”
You nodded. “Yes, I’m by myself for now.”
“For now?” he pressed. “That changing soon?”
A wave of nerves hit you. The answer to that was more complicated than he knew, and it wasn’t something you even wanted him to understand.
“Maybe,” you said dismissively. “Life happens and situations change. I should hope I wouldn’t live alone forever.”
“I hope that too,” he returned. “Being alone brings a certain peace, but -”
“No one wants to be lonely,” you finished.
“Right,” he said, looking at you, amazed.
You beamed at one another. Dinner continued in a similar way, exchanging basics about yourselves like where you lived and where you grew up and family. You told him that both your parents were gone, which he expressed deep sympathy for. He told you how he built his guitar with his dad, which thoroughly impressed you. You bonded over a shared love of animals and nature.
Brian was easily the best person to talk to about anything. He really focused on you when you talked. His eyes were fixed on yours, and he always leaned toward you. His responses were thoughtful and he avoided turning the conversation to himself unless you directly asked. He was refreshing, and you found yourself liking him a lot more than you should by the end of the meal. Although, you finished the meal long before you finished talking.
“I should be getting home,” you said, checking your watch.
Brian frowned. “It is late, I suppose.”
“Don’t be too disappointed,” you said. “I’ve had such a lovely time.”
“I have too,” he replied. “May I walk you home?”
You smiled. “I’d like that very much.”
You left together and headed back toward your flat. You passed the bookshop on the way, where you told him to stop.
“What’s up?” he wondered.
“I need to get Cat,” you said. “I can’t leave him in store.”
You unlocked the door and went inside, not bothering to turn the lights on. You knew your way around here better than your own home. As you walked between the shelves, you noticed your hand in Brian’s. You had no idea when or how it happened, but you did not let go. You focused on the feeling of his warm palm against yours, and the way your steps fell in sync as you walked across the wooden floor.
“Cat!” you called.
A soft little meow followed in response. You found him perched on a shelf in the children’s section. He watched you with curious eyes, tail flicking back and forth.
“He looks as if he’s been waiting for us,” Brian remarked.
“He sort of does,” you agreed. You looked at Cat. “It’s ten minutes to curfew, you know.”
Brian laughed. “He’s strict, isn’t he?”
“It’s all very new, we’re still getting used to each other,” you joked, although feeling like you were talking about more than just Cat. “After all, it hasn’t even been a day.”
“Good lord,” Brian said. “It really was only this morning that we met.”
“Mhm,” you replied. “Doesn’t feel like it, does it?”
He shook his head. “It feels like much longer. Although, I am very much enjoying getting to know you, Y/N.”
You closed your eyes and hummed. “I like that.”
“Like what?”
“How you say my name.”
You opened your eyes and looked at him, a sly smile parting your lips as he gave your hand a squeeze.
Somewhere, in the back of your mind, your conscience was screaming at you. Face red, voice hoarse screaming. This was wrong. Nothing could become of this no matter what you felt. You knew better and you shouldn’t lead him on. It wasn’t fair to subject him or yourself to the kind of pain this would bring, given your situation. You needed to put a stop to this.
Your heart, on the other hand, was proving much louder and much easier to give in to. Your heart called out for Brian. To pursue what was there because you had never felt anything like this before. You had never had an easier time around someone new. Everything flowed with Brian. You were drawn to him as if by a magnet - a pull that was harder to resist than you ever thought. Looking at Brian’s face in the moonlight, you felt that you could deny him nothing. You were sold on him, no matter who had a hold on you.
Turning your eyes to Cat, you called him down. He was small enough to perch on your shoulder, little claws clinging to your sweater. Then, you left the shop, locking the door behind you. Hand in hand with Brian, you made your way down the street to your flat. When you reached the front door, you came to a stop and faced him.
“Thank you for such a great evening,” you said. “I haven’t been able to chat to someone like this in a very long time.”
“I had a wonderful time,” he replied. “Really.”
You grinned at him. It was dopey, blissed out sort of grin, where you poked your tongue between your teeth. Brian felt his heart skip a beat.
“Goodnight, Brian,” you said, feeling once again the joy of his name in your mouth.
He gazed at you, eyes intense. He leaned forward and you sucked in a soft breath. But he didn’t go for your lips. Instead, he brushed his lips against your cheek. Just barely grazing your skin. It made your whole body tingle with anticipation. You nearly whined for more, but swallowed it down. When he pulled away, you shivered at the loss of contact.
“Goodnight, Y/N,” he said.
He squeezed your hand once more, shared one last lingering look, and then turned and walked away down the street. You watched him go, heart pleading for you to follow him and never spend another moment without him by your side. This time, logic won. You shook your head and entered your apartment, feeling both on top of the world and like the worst woman in it. You set Cat on the floor to let him roam and learn his way around.
“Here’s your new home, I suppose,” you told him.
You headed to your bedroom, mind racing with everything going on. Brian was so wonderful and you felt a powerful urge to be around him. And yet...there was the issue of Richard. There was a lot to think about, and you weren’t sure you’d be sleeping tonight.
The next morning, Brian was still smiling when he woke up. His mind was so occupied with thoughts of you, that his morning was a mess. He put his shoes on the wrong feet and nearly stumbled out the door before correcting them. He lost his keys - although that was a fairly regular occurrence before he met you. Then, he went to the studio for work, and walked into the wrong room. Finally, he made it where John and Roger were already waiting.
Roger smirked. “Looks like someone got a shag in last night.”
Brian shook his head. “Better.”
“What, you got to do it twice or something?” Roger wondered.
“I think I fell in love last night,” Brian said.
Roger and John exchanged worried glances.
“Look, I know we took the piss out of you yesterday, but you actually think you’re in love with the bookshop girl?” John wondered.
“Y/N,” Brian correcting, recalling fondly how you had said you liked it when he said your name. He liked saying it. Almost as much as he enjoyed hearing you say his.
“You haven’t even known her a day,” Roger reminded him.
“That’s it, though,” Brian insisted. “I feel...this is mad, but I feel like I’ve known her forever. She’s so clever and fun and -”
“Hot?” Roger added.
“Beautiful!” Brian said.
“She must really be amazing in bed,” John joked. “Never seen you like this, Bri.”
“We didn’t have sex,” Brian admitted as he began preparing a cup of tea. “We didn’t even kiss. I mean, I kissed her on the cheek, but nothing more.”
Roger stared at Brian.
“What?” Brian wondered.
“You’re putting salt in your tea,” Roger said with a light laugh. “Are you okay?”
Brian looked at his tea and chuckled. “I don’t think I’ve ever been better.”
Meanwhile, you were having a much more difficult morning. Guilt began to eat away at you for what you were doing. It wasn’t fair to anyone involved, and you told yourself that you couldn’t see Brian anymore. As much as it pained you to think of it. Your attraction to him was too strong and your connection too deep in the short time you had spent together for you to feel confident going forward. Nothing could happen. At least, that’s what you were telling yourself.
You got up early to go to the pet store and pick up a few things you needed for Cat. Then you headed to work, bringing him with you. It would be too long to be away from him to leave him at home. Plus, it would be fun for the children.
Every Wednesday, a class of children from one of the local schools came for a story reading. Obviously, it was only the very young children, and you read them a book of their choosing from the store. You began preparing little snacks for them while a few other customers browsed the shelves.
When the children arrived, they were thrilled to meet Cat, who was surprisingly good with them. He snuggled into their chests and let them hold him. He purred when they scratched his head or his chin. You and the teacher passed out snacks and then you went to your rocking chair in the corner. The kids spread out on a blanket in front of you, quietly eating while you began to read.
About halfway through the story, the bell clinked and you glanced up. There, to your great delight in spite of yourself, stood Brian. You couldn’t stop the wide grin that claimed your face. Your stomach lurched at the smile he returned.
Brian watched you read to the children. You got into it - doing voices for each character, and showing enthusiasm throughout the story. You held the pictures out so they could all see, and they were totally enthralled by you. Almost as much as Brian was.
When the story was over, you told the kids they could sit and play as long as they liked - it was really until the teacher said it was time to go - and you approached Brian. He couldn’t stop smiling at you. You felt the same. Just giddy to be in one another’s presence.
“Hi,” you said sweetly.
“Hello,” he returned. “How are you?”
“Wonderful, now that you’re here,” you told him. “You?”
“Perfect,” he said.
“So, what brings you to the shop?” you asked.
“The manager,” he answered, making you blush and look at the floor.
“Smooth,” you said.
“You set me up wonderfully for it,” he said. “Normally, I’m not that quick. Especially around women.”
You giggled. “Well, is there anything I can interest you in? Book-wise?”
“I wouldn’t mind checking out your science section,” he said.
“Right this way,” you said, taking his hand.
Mentally, you were kicking yourself. Why was it so hard to pull away? All the things you had decided had gone out the window. God, you were absolutely weak for him. And after just one date, too. It wasn’t a date, you scolded yourself. You cleared your throat as you stopped in front of the shelf you were looking for.
“Here,” you said, pulling a book for him. “I thought I recognized the name of the professor you mentioned enjoying so much.”
He took it, impressed. “You really are a very careful listener.”
“Well, it isn’t very difficult when the speaker is so interesting,” you replied.
He blinked at you. “That’s...that’s kind of you to say.”
Your brow furrowed as you looked at him. “What’s the matter?”
“Nothing,” he said, shaking his head. “I just feel very flattered. Normally, I’m so afraid I bore people when I discuss astrophysics, and you remembered this much.”
You placed a hand on his arm.
“You don’t bore me, Brian,” you assured him. You started to smile. “You can talk nerdy to me all day.”
He chuckled. “You’re very kind, Y/N.”
He started to hand the book to you but you shook your head and put your hands behind your back.
“No, that’s for you,” you said. “On the house.”
“You won’t get in trouble for giving it away?” he wondered.
“No, Papa won’t mind,” you said.
“Papa?”
You froze. How could you explain your relationship to Charlie? It was complicated, and the source of your mixed feelings about becoming closer to Brian.
“Charlie Kimball is my godfather,” you said. That was true. “We’ve been very close since my parents passed and so I’ve called him Papa.”
“Oh, wow, I knew you worked for him, but I didn’t realize he was practically family,” he said.
“Ha, yeah, practically,” you said dismissively.
“Freddie knows him better than I do,” he said. “Says Charlie’s one of the nicest men in business.”
“He is,” you agreed. “He’d do anything for his friends and family.”
“I’m glad to hear it,” he said. “So, fancy a drink after work?”
“We close at six,” you returned quickly.
You hoped you didn’t sound too eager.
After a few minutes, Brian had to return to the studio. He bid you farewell with a swift kiss on your cheek and you smiled. You watched him disappear down the street and sighed. What on earth were you doing?
I’m just getting a drink with a new friend, you tried to tell yourself. There’s nothing wrong with that.
Another part of you wanted to remind you that you didn’t normally have such a strong desire to make out with your friends, but you pushed that down. You weren’t doing anything wrong.
Right?

Higgs let out a pained groan. He had been tossing and turning over his sleeping mat for the last few hours. Sleep was beginning to feel more like a wonderful dream in the literal sense of the term. Eyes bloodshot, and wounds stinging, Higgs let out a sigh and rose up. He closed his eyes and felt the burns on his chest tighten.
It was a strange sensation when he thought about it. Higgs had seen plenty of burns in his time, received a couple for his daddy too, but he never thought it would feel like someone ripping a double layer of tar off his flesh. A look of bitterness crossed his features as he stared over at the campfire Gene made, holding a grudge against it though the damn thing had nothing to do with what happened.
“You’re awake?” Gene asked, snapping Higgs out of his thoughts.
“Well, I ain’t fucking dead if that is what you were hoping for.” Higgs said sarcastically. Gene chose to ignore how snarky he sounded and plopped herself by Higgs’s side, a bundle of large leaves in her arms.
Higgs made a face, gesturing with one of his hands. “What’s with the leaves? There a marijuana farm I’m not aware of in this here area?”
Gene couldn’t help but chuckle, shaking her head as she also placed a medium-sized flat rock down.
“Now you’re bringing me the testaments? Jesus, kill me now.” Higgs joked, shaking his head as Gene made a face in Higgs’s direction while he looked up at the stars, observing how the smoke from the fire swayed into nothing.
“You should have been sleeping, you’re growing delusional and less funny by the second,” Gene said bluntly, putting the leaves on the slab, grabbed a small rock nearby, and started to run it over the plants until a sap-like substance began to ooze from the stems,
“How am I able to sleep with all those bandages?” Higgs asked, gesturing at his upper chest that was covered. He let out a small growl upon Gene not answering, raising a brow while he watched her meticulously crush the plants up. Slowly it was bubbling and turning into a paste. The smell a sweet pungent scent Higgs wasn’t familiar with in the slightest.
“I’m not fixin’ to eatin’ that. I never was that kid who ate his veggies growing up.” Higgs chuckled as Gene shook her head, smirking from his comment this time around.
“You’re not gonna eat it. If you did, you’d throw up and the diarrhea isn’t worth sating your curiosity. Not even if you’re starving.” Gene said, watching as the color seemed to drain from Higgs’s face momentarily. She chuckled, seeing the brief shock that crossed his features. He couldn’t help but wonder if Gene was talking from personal experience. Frankly, he didn’t want to know.
“Alright, I’ll bite, what is it then?” Higgs asked curiously, wincing as he moved further to get a better look.
Gene shrugged. “I actually don’t know the name. I never paid attention to my parent’s plant studies, but I do know the sap in this thing helps burns and external wounds. It’ll numb you at least for the night.”
“You’re actually gonna slather me up with that?” Higgs scoffed. “Darlin’, if I didn’t know better, I’d say you were planning on seasoning me up for eatin’.”
Gene let out a laugh, taking the slab into her arms and cradling it like a child as she scooted close to Higgs and began to unbandage his burns with her free hand. Higgs swallowed, feeling the cool air hit the second-degree burns. A pained hiss grit through his teeth.
“I’m sorry--I’m sorry.” Gene murmured as Higgs waved her off.
“S’fine darlin’. Not like you’re the one that torched me.”
“Not you, I meant the plants I had to kill to heal you,” Gene said playfully as Higgs shot her a glare and huffed while Gene laughed.
“Hate to break it to you Pocahontas, but grandmother willow’s dead.”
“I am not her. I can’t paint with all the colors of the wind, but I could paint with all the shades of your blood.”
Gene’s banter got Higgs to tense up before he chuckled hard, trying not to make the burns hurt more than they had to. Gene’s laugh accompanying his didn’t help much in that department until Higgs tensed and cursed under his breath.
“God damn it.” Higgs seethed as he gulped. “Maybe we shouldn’t be talkin’ about ancient toons right now.”
“I’m surprised you even know what that movie is considering you were a prepper kid,” Gene remarked, taking the last bandage off.
“When I was a teenager, at the colony I lived at for a while, they played nothin’ but old Disney movies for the orphaned kids. Shit that survived the Death Stranding anyway. I hated it.” Higgs grinned, his eyes glancing about as he got lost in the memories of his youth, back when things were still scary for him.
“My parents liked those films cause their grandparents enjoyed them. Gotta keep traditions alive and all that shit even though it was dated.” Gene shrugged then slathered her fingers into the paste, dipping a generous amount on herself before applying it to Higgs. He shook, fingers digging into the mat as he held his breath.
“That--really hurts darlin’---” Higgs murmured, trying to keep a brave face. The stinging was horrid, but like Gene said earlier, a tingling numbness began to set in.
“I’ll try to be quick. It’s not like I enjoy hurting you.” Gene said.
“Could’ve fooled me there,” Higgs smirked, looking up at her as Gene rolled her eyes, applying more. Soon enough Higgs eased into the motions, closing his eyes as he enjoyed the cold from the sap soak into his flesh. There was also a part of him loving how Gene’s hand roamed over his skin. He had to suppress himself from leaning in further, not wanting to give the wrong impression. His reactions were from touch starvation, nothing more. That’s what Higgs told himself. His pulse, however, told another tale as Higgs opened his eyes and tilted his head, observing Gene quietly. A soft smile made its way to his face while he looked her over.
“Wow,” Gene said aloud as Higgs continued to stare, not aware of how he was looking at her.
“What?”
“Your heartbeat is going a million miles, you okay?” Gene asked as Higgs looked down, seeing her palm was over his chest where the organ would be. True enough, she was right. Higgs cleared his throat, moving back a little as he nodded.
“Yeah, I’ll be fine...just--you know, hurts and all.” He scrambled for words to save face as Gene moved on. Higgs was thankful it was dark enough to where she couldn’t see how pink his face had turned at nearly having been caught.
“I think we’re done. You should be fine for the night.” Gene reassured Higgs, resting a hand on his shoulder briefly before she started pulling out another set of bandages from her side pack. Higgs stopped her, gently placing his hand over hers.
“I appreciate the help but I got this part,” Higgs said, his voice had grown quiet as Gene looked over him cautiously.
“Are you sure?”
Higgs nodded. “I’m a big kid. You don’t have to hold my hand.”
“Suit yourself.” Gene smiled, then shocked him further as she swung her arms carefully over his shoulders. Higgs froze in place as his eyes widened.
“Thanks for saving me earlier with the jump, so I didn’t get burned from the mine. I owe you one.” Gene said quietly near his ear then pulled back, giving a wave as she made her way over towards her sleeping mat to rest.
Higgs, still awestruck looked over at Gene as she got comfortable. His gaze meeting hers as she smiled.
“Good night Higgy Stardust.”
“Whatever,” Higgs said with a nervous sigh, shaking his head as he began to bandage himself. He didn’t look in her direction for the rest of the night as he patched his body up and tried to go to sleep.
Gene had to leave tomorrow, go back to Brisk HARPY and be gone for a few weeks on delivery. Camping with her had been fun, save for the incident earlier in the field while hunting down scraps to repair his new bunker. Higgs was already beginning to miss her though he’d never admit it. Being with somebody after a few years of exile from the world had gotten under his skin.

Fuck you people.
When I read that someone is a child molester, the absolute last thing I should have to do is research whether they’re actually a child molester or if they just happen to follow a fucking blog that likes Rick/Morty.
I still have no idea whether this 19 year old you’re all harassing now actually did something dangerous because your nonsense posts are filled with such disturbing, gripping takes as “liked an anime boob” and “made a raunchy joke on a Veggie Tales parody account.” But since you literally just got done mass-reporting the account of a severely ill artist who did nothing to any of you but ship a ship on their own blog, I’m gonna figure this is equally asinine.
Congratulations. You’re crying wolf and actively making it easier for real live predators to slip under the radar.
Fuck you.

Hey, wanted to ask you something. How do you reconcile being christian with being a lesbian? (Saw the Christian lesbian nerd thingy in your bio). I love God/Jesus alot, but I'm considering the possibility that I might be attracted to women.
Hey!! Thanks for asking me this! It might seem scary or confusing right now as you’reworking out who you are and how it fits with your faith, but it’s also pretty amazing becauseyou’re discovering who God made you to be and you’re on the path He’s set for you.
For me reconciling being a Christian with being a lesbian did not happen over night. It was aprocess that made me really look into my faith, and have to reconsider who I thought I was,and though it wasn’t exactly the easiest journey (and technically I’m still on it), I’ve endedup being so much stronger in my faith and much more confident in who I am.
Growing up, I’d always believed that God was a God of love. That’s what Christians aretaught, that he made everyone in His image, and that he loves everyone. That’s throughoutthe whole Bible, that’s the song everyone sings, that’s what they end every episode ofVeggie Tales with. And long before I started questioning my sexuality, I was very confusedabout why on earth we were supposed to love everyone except (apparently) gay people? Itmade no sense (and still doesn’t).
But when I started to realise I was gay at 16, I really started to question that. I was panickingand confused. I thought maybe I was faking being gay (nope. I think every LGBTQ+ personhas felt this but it always turns out we were faking being straight or cis). I thought maybeGod really did hate gay people and I was deluding myself.
So I did what my (conservative, small town) Bible studies teacher taught me to do.
We were learning about how people take verses in the Bible out of context, and what we asChristians should do is understand their full meaning (ironic). So that’s what I did. I lookedup every verse in the Bible that looked at homosexuality. I looked up every verse in the Biblethat talked about love. I looked up all the commandments, and all of Jesus’ newcommandments. I wasn’t going to let anyone else tell me what to believe, I went straight tothe word of God itself. And I decided whatever I found I would just have to live with.
What I found was that God is a God of love. He made everyone in His image. And thegreatest commandment is to love your neighbour. Also, the verses condemninghomosexuality are used out of context, and since then I’ve also found out that they’ve beenmistranslated too! They weren’t even about homosexuality, they were about adultery orprostitution.
Exactly what I found is here, I was (still am) a complete nerd in high school and went full outwith the quotes and sources and put my findings into a report. I wanted to make sure that ifanyone questioned me (not like you have, being really sweet, more like a homophobequestioning my integrity) about what I believed, I’d have God’s word ready to back me up.
Another, more recent, way of reconciling my faith with my sexuality was finding onlinesupport! There are so many other LGBTQ+ Christians out there, especially here on tumblr. There are a lot of individual blogs, but some main ones specifically about being queer andChristian include Queer Christian Affirmations and Lesbian Christian! I’ve been followingthem both for years, they’re great. Queer Christian Affirmations also has a discord group. I think getting in touch (or even just knowing) that there are other people out there like you, that you’re not alone, is one of the most important things you can do.
Something else that I think can help is looking at media that queer Christians are in, orwhere Christians are very supportive. Georgia Peaches and other Forbidden Fruit is afavourite book of mine about a lesbian moving to a small town with her pastor father (it’s alove story too!) or One Day at a Time on Netflix – this scene is one of my favourite scenes ofall time. Or the song ‘Love Thy Neighbour’ from The Prom musical.
There’s also a website where you can find queer affirming churches in your area, which isvery cool.
Here are some LGBTQ+ Christian resources. Here is an article about how to be a gayChristian. And here are some other resources about what the Bible says.
That’s a lot of information and I hope that’s not too much?? I just kinda thought about whatI wish I had known when I was figuring things out and went from there. Just know you’renot alone. There are so many queer people out there, so many people ready to support you,and so many LGBTQ+ Christians. You’re exactly how God made you, but don’t worry if ittakes you a while to work things out. My ask box and messages are always open, as are theother blogs I mentioned. We’re all here for you
