hello, guys!! i am up with a new pac, here i’ve tried to get messages about your soulmates personality, their appearance and some things i somehow associate them with. i did it mostly intuitively, so i hope it turned out well.

-I just feel like Asmo is one of the shorter brothers along with Belphie I’d say he’s on the shorter side of demons. Maybe 6’0 with the average being about 6’6 for Demons.

-In his demon form, however, I think he’d be 6’3 not including his horns. I just feel like Asmo gives little asshole(affectionate) vibes but he’s definitely not human short.

-Is his cum an Aphrodisiac? Hell yea, I’d go as far as to say all of his bodily fluids are at will. So when you're kissing Asmo and feel just a little too warm for a kiss you pull away face flushed and eyes big. He smirks knowing exactly what he’s doing to you. there goes the sfw tag

It’s gotten to the point that when he notices small imperfections like acne he doesn’t want anyone to see him, even though his brothers have tried to let him know they don’t care he won't listen. Sometimes one of them will stop by his door to talk to him since he won't leave.

-He has a spreadsheet to keep track of when his makeup or skincare expires because he will NOT risk anything happening to his beautiful face

-He’s got a very airy and soft look, sharp features but still in a way a soft fairy-like look, IDK he’s just… dainty yk

-Run’s your social media page, I feel like the online culture is way different in the Devildom so he absolutely manages your account and you easily become the second most followed account, after him of course.

-If he’s ever left to wake you up he does it in the most soft way possible because you look so peaceful. He’d brush the side of your cheek and gently call your name.

-No physical labor, he just doesn't do it. Taking out the trash? Sounds like a job for anyone else. Honestly, I see him calling on Beel a lot in that way anytime he needs something moved his baby bro has got his back.

So I ended up accidentally drawing the entire cast OOPS. Just in time before the finale !! I tried my best to recreate the intro still and I think it turned out very good for what I could do with my art style. ii has inspired me so much art wise lately and thought I’d finally pour my heart out into making gijinka designs for everyone from season 3. (Season 1 and 2 I’ll get you one day you’re not safe)

Uhh here’s some design rambles:

Bot was a fun design because I had to think about how they would’ve evolved in the show and o think it would be silly if they had to get fashion advice from fucking nickel and balloon. Who I’m sure is the worst people to do that with, but they are very happy with how they look and their horrible bangs

OJ has multiple designs for him, but I really like the idea of him looking older and older as time passes because of the stress put on him by working at the hotel, but he’s around late 20s like everyone else

Clover is pretty and my favorite.

Balloon gives me Zelda Tri force and cargo shorts vibes. So he’s Dripless

Idk if you could tell but listening to test tube tango over and over again inspired me for her and for Dani wanted to stay a way from the red and yellow hair approach and opted to make him have earbuds he’s constantly wearing because im also autistic and also do that even if im not listening to music.

Let's Talk Whump No.5

Welcome to Let’s Talk Whump, a series of interviews that spotlight the amazing people in our whump community! ! I’m Malice and I’ll be your host. 

Today I’m talking whump with the wonderful @painsandconfusion! 

So good to have you here today, @painsandconfusion! Tell us a fun fact about yourself!

I'm a lawyer but don't seem like a lawyer at all - everyon'es always confused when I say so. I'm a fan of jumping between fluffy pink dresses, standard hipster vibes, emo styles, and who knows what else. It's different every day. I just like variety!

What does whump mean to you?

Oh dear, tricky to answer...

Whump is when a character is at their highest stress point (or...at least higher than average). I suffer from severe and vivid nightmares, but I found out that when I write whump, I can process my fears and anxieties through those characters and their experiences. I can only go about two weeks without writing before the nightmares start again. It's kinda amazing to see just how effective and healthy it is for me. I live vicariously through my whumpees for a moment, and they help my brain keep its shit together. Then I get to meet all these lovely people online and it just makes my heart so happy!

Wow, that’s really great to hear! Whump can be really cathartic at times. How did you find the whump community? What made you want to join? 

I think this is a standard story, but I discovered the hero x villain community first, and it wasn't /quite/ my cup of tea, but it was close. After I saw a few people reblogging things with #whump, I checked it out. 

I have a vivid memory of skipping class for the first time in my life, just sitting in my apartment, all but crying as I scrolled through everything. I was so relieved to find that I wasn't alone. I spent so much of my life hating myself and hating whumperflies and hating that I was drawn to violence and not understanding why. After I found this community I felt so much more at home. 

I made a blog and started reblogging.

Then of course, I relapsed into hating myself and deleted it.

Then I made another. Started posting gifs I made from my favorite whumpy movies.

The kink community kinda took it over - which is fine and lovely and I'm happy to share content, but....they were the only ones who saw my blog. So everything I made was taken in a way I didn't mean and I felt very isolated and unheard.

So I deleted it again.

A couple years ago, I tried again. I started just reblogging, then I impulsively added to a prompt list in one of my reblogs and people really liked it? So I made more. And more and more and more- eventually I started posting scenes, and I've been having a lovely time here ever since! 

Do you think your view on whump has changed since you joined? Are there tropes you now love/hate that you didn't at first? 

Absolutely. Like. Wow so much. I used to dislike pain a lot and only enjoy the fear leading up to it. While I still prefer the suspense, nothing really squicks me out anymore. I used to hate pet whump but now I'm a fan. 

I have started making whump art as of late, which has been a fun new adventure! I picked it up almost solely because there's so many fantastic writers in this community who deserve some good fanart. I'm having fun working through a list of my favorite creators!

Tell us about your favourite whump trope!

Dear goodness, do I love a chin tilt.

No no...hmmm.....I get to run wild with this question and there's nothing you can do to stop me! Muahhahahhaaaaaaaa~

Okay so. Picture this.

Whumpee stumbling slowly backward, breath catching in their throat and burning at their lungs. Their feet drag against the ground as they stare up at Whumper, eyes shaking and sparkling with tears that cling to their lashes, refusing to fall. Not /quite/ yet. 

Whumper strokes a knuckle down their cheek, drawing a twitch - not quite a flinch, no no, Whumpee wouldn't dare to pull away. Whumper's hand flips softly as it reaches their jaw, pressing to their throat instead.

Whumpee finally lets a sound pass their lips, a soft whimper as their back hits the wall. The momentum topples the wetness from their lashes, and Whumper's eyes roam down to follow them as they soak hot into the fabric of Whumpee's shirt. 

Whumper's hand turns up just /once/ more, curling a finger under Whumpee's chin to tip their head up, drawing hiding eyes back into place.

Then they say something whumpy, I guess - you get the picture.

LOVE that shit. 

Intimate whumpers? Slow pacing? Vivid sensation? Yes!

Absolutely loving the detail in that! It’s all about the sensations! And speaking of favourites, do you want to share a piece you've written?

Hard Question!

First one that comes to mind is The Party. It's one of my favorites because my hands were shaking so hard while writing it. It was a great way to kick off that event (@thewhumperssoiree) which I'm inadvertently yet shamelessly plugging by answering with that piece I guess! It's very very fun, I loved what that piece created. Everyone who wrote for it did such a great job! (Event is still open, I don’t know why I'm talking about it in past tense)

Do you have a standard writing style/routine or does it vary?

I absolutely change up my paragraph style depending on the intensity of the scene or the place in the scene. I'm a big fan of elaborating and writing moment to moment so the oc's sensations and emotions bleed into the reader. I don't write much on visuals at all - almost entirely on sensation, which I think works well in this medium.

When I'm writing, I kinda forget everything else exists, so I don't have food or drink or if I do, it's neglected. If anyone tries to talk to me, tough luck to them, I'm in the Write Zone and I cannot hear them!

I write solely when inspiration strikes which.......is a lot!

Is there a noticeable difference in how easily you write things? Do the words always flow or do you have to beat them out sometimes?

There's characters who don't get in my head nearly as easily, and ones that are effortless. Getting fucking Alec in my head? Impossible. He's a bitch, then does bitch things once there. Ethan? Dream. Miracle boy. So easy to write that emo little shit. For clarification, the seven chapters of Alec's series vs the thirty of Ethan's. Alec is a bitch. End of story.

But, I also do much better describing little moments rather than full scenes. I'm good at scenes, but it takes so many spoons. Hence why I have three hundred or so random drabble posts or lists, but only like fifty total from my series. It just takes more effort to have to think about plot and pacing and all that good stuff. 

Fun? Yes. 

But hard.

Is there anything you're working on at the moment? Finalising the final chapter of your series? Starting a new au? Trying a different style of writing/pov? Revisiting fanfiction? Maybe you've really gotten into poetry....

Oh dear goodness, I'm working on everything all at once and I need to stop!

I also need to roleplay less and write more for you lovelies! I’m so sorry I’m just really distractible…

Give us some writing advice. Bless us with your wisdom!

I have posts for this but:

1. Keep your descriptions to the textured senses. Less visuals, more sensation. Caretaker has brown hair? So what? Tell me about how Caretaker's hair curled at the ends, just barely tickling at the corner of their eyes until they flicked it away with a twitchy shake of the head.

2. Personify the shit out of your nouns. Whumpee bled? No. The blood soaked through Whumpee's shirt. Make it an external factor that's affecting them. Much more engaging.

3. Pacing. Whumpee got dragged into the car, then into a house and chained in the basement? That's not one scene, that's at least three. OR. It's a two sentence summary that Whumpee is musing about while already in the basement. 

4. Speaking of, don't start with the boring, just get right into the action. You can weave the 'how we got here' bits in after a few sentences, but get your reader hooked right away. Don't start with "Whumpee got out of bed, glancing at their blaring alarm". Try instead "Their hands were shaking so hard they had to try three times to dial the number, fingers as clumsy as they were that morning, trying to slap their alarm off through the fog of blissful sleep." Or just don't mention it at all! Skip to the good stuff!

plans intricate and cute dates (his favorite type of dates are picnics in the park)

his love language is acts of service (because i said so)

knows how to braid hair due to ashlyn teaching him (he can do every style of braid there is)

^so he won't even flinch if his partner (or wildcat friends) asks him to do their hair

would've 100% become a big brother figure to emmy if they had met earlier

either has 20/20 vision or desperately needs glasses (and either refuses to get them or he wears contacts at all times)

he loves broadway shows and kept a collection of playbills hidden in his room so cash wouldn't find them (now he has them in his dorm room, on a bookcase, cause he's organized)

^the water polo boys didn't care for broadway so he regularly infodumps on the wildcats (mainly ricky because he's never seen a broadway show)

because he has light eyes, the sun bothers him a lot so he regularly wears baseball caps or tries his best to stand under trees (the latter doesn't work much, because he keeps hitting his head on branches)

^carlos has been trying to introduce him to the concept of bucket hats and has gifted him a few

absolutely hates water polo, he was only on the team because cash said he had to find a sport to play (he can play almost every sport the school had to offer though, he just didn't care about them as much as theater)

can speak fluent french (he gives that vibe) and is working on learning the other romance languages

he's 1/4 latino (his mom is half and passing and was adopted by white people so cash thought none the wiser because you can't tell me that cash isn't a little racist) but either doesn't know or doesn't think it's worth mentioning

hates playing truth or dare but loves hearing about things that went down when others play (basically he loves gossip but not if it's about him)

can either cook like gordon ramsay or burns everything he attempts to make

he's great at faking like he knows what he's talking about UNLESS he's stressed and/or people absolutely know that he doesn't (so season 3 with the director nonsense)

has never gotten a pimple a day in his life (the wildcats are not happy about this)

why have you been feeling ugly? you aren’t

Aw that’s sweet. I’ve just been in a bit of a style and confidence crisis I suppose. When covid hit I had to go off my ADHD meds and gained a bunch of weight, which while it didn’t really show much on me definitely made me feel out of control of my body and alienated from it. plus years of sedentary office work have made my muscles weak and given me back issues which has furthered that feeling…I’m going to the gym now and am back on ADHD meds so hopefully a feeling of control over my body will improve.

I think it was mostly that coupled with aging, which I generally have made my peace with, but it definitely is always a confusing time to be leaving the category of “hot young thing” lol. Like no matter what I do, I am no longer going to be a sexy 23 year old! If I try my absolute hardest to look hot there will be an entire cohort of people 5-10 years younger than me who don’t try at all who society considers much more attractive. Which is fine! But given the weirdness of the last few years it took me a little longer to adjust to that than I think it would have under normal circumstances. I was really socially isolated in SF during covid and pretty much only saw my coworkers except at the end there, so the basic vibe feedback of being around friends and people your age just didn’t exist for me at all. In addition I started getting a lot of pretty horrible harassment about my looks online here (one reason I keep anon mostly off now) and it all culminated in me going through a bit of a gender crisis. It turns out that when feminine beauty is your main foothold to femininity and that beauty goes away, you’re not left with much of a reason to continue performing femininity at all. So I tried a few things and really enjoyed that period, and would probably try them again at some point. Cutting my hair and getting tattoos was really great for me and I don’t think I would have done either of them if covid hadn’t happened, because the social rewards of being feminine were too great. But remote work really changed that and eventually I was in a good place with my job and just started trying shit.

There are a lot of messages society sends us that amount to “you have to be the hottest you’ve ever been on Your wedding day” and I am definitely sometimes susceptible to those, especially as someone from an evangelical background who was mocked in high school and throughout childhood because my looks and attitude did not make me “marriage material.” It’s always been my dream to have a big beautiful wedding but it has been sometimes hard to reconcile that desire with realism about how I currently look or WANT to look. Like, I’m growing my hair out for the wedding in case I want to have it long, but it’s been hard to do that after a period where having it short was really resolving a lot of stress I felt about my gender presentation. But I also know that at the end of the day 90% of society will just see me as a slightly weird looking woman in their 30s no matter what I do & so I have decided to just sort of give up on that for now and focus on other things 🤷

One night you were hesitant to enter your home. 

Something just seemed off, like that part in the horror movie where things are unsettlingly quiet and calm. 

You fidgeted with the keys on your keyring, anything to delay you actually entering your home. 

You tried pushing through your wracked nerves; you were stressed, tired…paranoid. Just go in, take a shower, make another late dinner…

Definitely not get jumped by dudes in rabbit masks. 

Which is what happened when you opened the door, there were a handful of them just lounging in your living room before they heard you open the door. 

They jumped up from their spots and darted towards you. You grabbed one of the rabbit heads by the ears and barrelled them towards the others. While they tried to regain their footing you snatched up the Louisville slugger you had by the door. Yeah it’s overrated but it got the job done. 

After subduing the men, some unconscious, a few possibly dead…You looked around at the carnage. Your living room is a bloodied and bruised mess. Lamps, tables were broken. Your wooden floors were being caked with blood. 

Now lies the question as to what the hell was going on–

You felt a slight pressure on your head, like a hat being placed and everything goes dark.

“Now, now, don’t struggle…you’re safe now!”

A short scrunkly looking fellow with a long nose, spikey red hair, and prominent buck teeth came out. He looked like he jumped out of a children’s book…like someone from Wonderland…

“The Mad Hatter?” You quirked an inquisitive eyebrow. 

He giggled gleefully. “Oh, so you do know me?” 

You shrugged. “Ah…well not by choice…but that explains the rabbit men in my home.” 

“Ah yes, I must admit my dear, I was not…not expecting such…resistance from you.” 

Your jaw almost dropped. “Are you fucking kidding me? There were men I’ve never met before in my own home–”

Hatter gasped. "Such language! You don't have to be so crude about it!" 

Is…is he for real?

He continued. "But, yes, I can understand a means of self defense, but I only wanted them to bring you to me! Bah-just goes to show if you want something done right you must do it yourself!” 

Hatter walked closer towards you, with you sitting you were able to see him eye to eye as he stood at your side. As your mind started to clear you noticed you were in front of a round table…that looks set up for a tea party. 

“Wait, wait, wait…you wanted them to bring me to you? Why?” You tried shimmying away on the chair from Hatter but he put a hand on the back of your chair, hindering your escape. 

"Oh, yes, why, why indeed..well you see, it's simple really! I'm absolutely enamored with you!" He shrilled gleefully. 

"What? You-you don't even know me!"

"Ah but that's where you're wrong! I know everything about you!" He took a step away from you and rounded to the other side of the table and took a seat on the opposite side of you. 

He took a generous sip from his teacup. 

You shivered slightly as you recalled all those times you felt someone watching you, but brushed it off as paranoia.

However a funny thought happened in your head. "Yet, you didn't know I took self defense classes?" 

The Hatter nervously murmured "Ah, mm…yes a mere oversight on my part…" 

"Listen…Mr..uhh..mm…Hatter I-" 

"Oh please do call me Jervis, Jervis Tetch at your service!" He walked back towards you again.

"Okay…Jervis. Um, not that this hasn't been…uhh an experience. I really don't think–"

"Its okay, you may not see it now, your affection for me. But you will soon enough!" 

He began walking away again, not before dragging his long pinky nail along your shoulder. 

You shuddered slightly at the sensation. "Wait! Wait no-can..can we work something out? Where I don't have to wear the hat?" 

Jervis held the unconventional western hat in hand. "Bold of you to assume you had an option in the matter." 

“I mean like…wouldn’t you like to get to know each other..? Or at least let me get to know you?” You offered. 

Jervis put the hat down on the table as he pondered. “You…want to get to know me?” 

“Sure! Of course! But I can't do that with your..eh…contraption on.” 

“And how do I know this isn’t a trick?” He sneered.

“Well,” you cocked your head in thought. “I mean…I wouldn’t mind getting to know you, you are kind of cute..” You muttered, not even sure where that came from…but it wasn’t necessarily a lie.

Whatever it was, it worked, as Jevis gasped in shock. “Really?” 

Well, you can’t take it back now. “Uh…yes..”

Jervis chuckled giddily as he went and untied your binds. You brought your hands up to you and began soothing your wrists. 

“Ohh…this is perfect! Despite the slight hiccup this is already going better than planned!”

“And! I know just the position to put you in!” 

“Excuse me?”

Some headcanons I have about Eddie that are based on exactly 0% canonical evidence and 100% the Vibe:

Eddie is extremely musically inclined and while I know this might seem like a "Duh" thing, I mean that he picks up on music almost as soon as he starts playing it, he's got perfect pitch, taught himself musical theory, knows ALL the classical artists and DOES listen to them to hone his hearing, so he can basically parse out a note while listening alone. That is to say, if Eddie wasn't from a poor family, he'd be one of those prodigy kids.

He read the Lord of the Rings series, The Hobbit, and The Silmarillion - and he actually understood the Silmarillion. (Look, I've tried reading it and it's hard. Could just be me, tho.) He also read all the Narnia books and ended up disliking them for the disservice they do to Susan.

He never forgets a face. This is why he remembers Chrissy so well - he also remembers just about everyone he used to get along with/play with in elementary and early middle school. He's basically Veronica Sawyer here, tbh. ("Dear Diary, my teenage angst bullshit has a body count.")

His Uncle Wayne introduced him to heavy metal and rock music.

Eddie initially embraced heavy metal because it was so opposite of what his father (a Christain fundamentalist who listened primarily to Frank Sinatra and piano and lowkey headcanoned himself as a member of the Mafia because he went to one (1) pizza place in New York twenty years ago) listened to.

It took years to for Eddie to realize the reason his father taught him things like how to hotwire a car was because his father took vindication from the fact Eddie was going to turn out exactly like him, so Eddie couldn't blame his father for his faults because they were "ultimately the same." Edit: Adding here because after re-reading I feel it's slightly unclear, but Eddie's father was trying to purposefully sabotage Eddie's life.

While Eddie absolutely worked his heart out to buy that electric guitar himself, Uncle Wayne would occasionally "accidentally" drop money in the piggy bank. Eddie, not known to be the best at addition, did not notice.

The curls are real. He just styles them to look like that. For reasons.

His mom was an angel. C'mon, that's how this shit works. She probably died tragically. Either that or she ran away the way Billy's mom did or something, which could explain some of Eddie's bitterness about himself running away all the time. (Besides the tough-guy thing from being a metalhead and such.)

About the scene where Eddie throws his vest at Steve: Lots of people have said this shows signs of how much he trusts Steve (the vest being an important part of his identity), and from a shipping standpoint I totally agree, but I also like to think Eddie preferred to keep the leather jacket, because leather is heavier and in a stressful situation like that, he might have felt more comfortable with the weight. (This is also kind of a ND headcanon based on how feel myself when I'm overwhelmed.) So it could be that he trusts Steve with the vest AND he prefers to keep the leather jacket. You can also kind of see this in his scene with Chrissy. He starts hugging his arms/crossing them over his chest and all these things read as slight discomfort to me - maybe because he'd prefer to have the jacket and vest on, but he took it off to make Chrissy feel more at ease? Idk, but it would be super sweet of him if true.

You know he NEVER takes the jacket and vest off unless absolutely necessary. Like it has to be 100°F before he does.

He had a crush on Steve Harrington. He masked this crush by vehemently insisting he didn't like Steve because he was popular and shit. I know this is cliche but I love it ok

Those stains are from beer, soup, coffee, etc that he's set on the edge of the bed and repeatedly spilled because He Just NEVER Learns

He'll frequently substitute words/sentences with lines and phrases from books and movies he's read as a means of communicating when all else fails. (Same, bro)

Eddie has the ENTIRE Rocky Horror Picture Show memorized. Down to the point he could rewatch the whole thing in his head when he's bored in class.

-so I'm pretty sure the implication is one of the main humans sold them out to BE, which is how they knew where to look for the separatists. Though since ART speculates they got there early, I guess the main colonists could have as well, but that doesn't explain the BE SecUnit trying to (presumably) hurt Murderbot.

-on that subject, that SecUnit might have (1) immediately identified Murderbot as an altered SecUnit and (2) that's the reason it attacked the ag-bot how it did, either to test the theory or because it knew MB would be okay. But that also doesn't explain how it would have avoided the automated report to its governor module.

-AdaCol2 being horrified about a governor module even existing:(

-OMG AdaCol2 having its own extensive media storage. That's so cute omg.

-so to this point in the series MB hasn't been characterized as "part human" despite being partially made of human material. It's always considered itself more of a bot with mostly inconvenient human neural tissue. And now that human neural tissue is causing worse problems than it has before (PTSD/flashbacks).

-SO when ART here says "the part of you that is human" that's significant. It makes me wonder if MB is going to be reframed as "part human" in a way the series has avoided so far… or if ART is genuinely just wrong about that.

-but MB's resistance to even being treated as a human indicates SOMETHING there… compared to its acceptance of being repaired and healed while framed as a bot-- and its fixation with being 'broken' like a machine when that's not really the problem.

-just. Very interesting to think about.

-MB did mention just before this scene that human neural tissue is essential to understanding visual media like TV shows. And we know how important that is to MB. So I also wonder if that is a factor in characterizing MB as "part human" (maybe even retroactively).

-OK the little cut in with Mensah saying "you just don't want to talk about [whats wrong with you]" supports the entirety of the above. So.

She just gets a lot of characterization this book and there's a heavy emphasis on her importance to ART. and we already saw what ART was capable of just thinking MB got hurt or killed last book.

-sees 'Hostile!SecUnit' explicitly written in the text looks at Martha Wells I Know What You Are

-i know they're friends and that's like a predictable thing but I like how MB and ART have gradually changed to be more like each other

-i think AdaCol2 is just out of commission despite MB assuming it betrayed them. But ART had that comment about it being more sophisticated than it let on… but I don't think it would betray them based on the characterization so far, like its horror at the mere concept of a governor module and uploading the documentary for them.

-the idea of a human augmented to be the HubSystem is a little horrifying. And introduced in media res so like "don't think about it"

The end!

Ok so. Thoughts. We kind of end in a similar place as Network Effect, with Murderbot deciding to leave the Preservation team to go with ART. This story feels like a character

development add on and I'm not sure if it was originally planned when Network Effect was written.

That's not really a criticism because we do learn interesting things. There's a heavier lean into ART and its functional existence. MB has a realistic response to the traumatic events of Network Effect and we have to deal with the fallout of it. Which I think is important instead of jumping to the next arc right away. We also get heavy characterization of 2 newer characters, Iris and Tarik. Tarik especially gets a lot of development. I legit can't remember if he was in Network Effect. But he's a human character foil to MB which I think is a good addition to the story. We have had multiple bot foils for MB so having a human one is good (Gurathin doesn't really count imo) Since as this book emphasizes, MB is kind of both.

My speculation on what we go to next? This book had a heavier emphasis on MB being partially human. That's always been true but not something MB likes to think about or identify with. And the trauma response to Network Effect is framed as a human part of MB. So how do we explore that in the future? I think back to how MB talking to Bharadwaj was integrated into Network Effect and how that explored its trauma and past. Now we have trauma and the present, and the implication that MB will get actual therapy, so will it be similar?

We can obviously examine a lot about the University. We got a taste that there's more to it right at the end with Holism's existence reveal. That's pretty major and there may be way more to it. All we know about the University really is ART and its humans. We could conceivably have non ART/Peri ship characters that are similar to it.

The big elephant in the room mentioned in this book is the ComfortUnit MB freed early in the series. What happened to it? And this book adds another SecUnit to that (2 technically but we only see one do something with its freedom). Will they come back into the story? And since they know how to free themselves will they spread that to other constructs? Will MB helping others on its journey have a knockdown effect throughout the Rim? That seems like the most likely solution to construct slavery, which is like the MAIN CONFLICT/problem of the series.

One thing MB has mentioned a few times is that some rogue Units do respond to sudden freedom with violence-- which is an understandable response, honestly. But that isn't something we have seen. MB just… kept doing its job for 4 years before the Preservation team discovered its secret in

the first book… and it's implied the one it freed in this book plans to do the same thing. Three wasn't violent either and is characterized as more… childlike, I guess? The ComfortUnit just fucking booked it the second it could. So we haven't seen violence happen with Three and the other Units MB directly freed but it's something that could be a conflict later on if suddenly a bunch start going rogue in that kind of ripple effect. There's the CombatUnit from book 4 that I vaguely recall had no interest in being freed and was incredibly violent. So who knows.

Hmmm let's say some mundane daily issues stressed them out and nothing too grand. Ofc 300% serious per usual:

Kamui - goes into full 🥺 mode and waits to be comforted by men. His stress reliever is crying in man's arms or overal physical + emotional comfort. 6/10 on healthy scale and 🌈/10 on gayness one

Sorata - meme it all away. Deals with stress via humor. King. 9/10

Arashi - looks like a type to bottle up. May try some hot tea and meditation so 4/10

Yuzuriha - has no poker face whatsoever, can't keep stiff upper lip to save her life. Will end up bawling her eyes to someone and getting comforted (not in gay 🥺 way like Kamui does tho). Maybe will have Inuki comfort her a bit. Effective overall plus she's 14 so 7/10

Karen - will bottle up and put up a fake smile :< also do some self-deprecating and self sabotaging thing like drug her teammates and go out to fight and die alone :< although her style rocks so 4/10 on common sense scale but 🔥/10 on vibes and sexiness

Aoki - idk rly, guess go to soap lady's hotel room one late at night. To chat with her about protecting kekais duh, ofc no funny business. Happy family man with ounce of common sense yes but can he resist the temptation? 9/10 on he should deal with stress via hooking up with Karen scale

Kotori - cries herself out and gets comforted by her brother or slips into insanity and wants to get crucified no in between. 5/10

Good boy Fuuma - deal with stress by comforting and protecting Kotori and Kamui. Especially Kamui tho, the more touchy feely they are the better Fuuma is feeling. 8/10 on healthy scale since bottling up but 🌈/10 on gayness one

Antichrist Fuuma - I can't possibly state here post will get flagged as explicit. But let's just say it has to do with all kinds of explosions

Subaru - he doesn't deal with stress in any productive way possible, he mops around, smokes it out or sufferes in silence masochistically. That's how 🤕 kinks got as bad as they are, king tried to repress them. Alternatively he deal with stress by wanting to be stabbed. If he dealt with stress by getting railed I would have given him higher rating but this way 1/10 for the masochism and every BDSM-5 mental illness

Yuuto - he fucks it out, no questions. 10/10, Subaru this should be your role model

Kanoe - copes with stress via being sexiest person ever, flirting with absolutely everyone and having sex every day. Also while having them government salary and not doing jack shit beside dreaming in dick throne and having ominous prophecies. Dream coping mechanism 11/10

Hinoto - lies for funsies and makes false false prophecies. She sends seals into death for fun and apperently has a thing for making Kamui's life as hard as it can possibly be. Zero coping mechanism she gave into her dark side but at least we've seen some hinoto-cest pics so for that 2/10

Kusanagi - idk about him rly he seems like most rational one? So something about spilling sorrows to the bartender. Idk let's rate it 7/10

Keiichi - only boy with common sense in this manga he deals with problems resiliently but actually talks about them. 9/10

Nataku - guess they go out and die?? 0/10 on any scale

Kakyou - his coping mechanism is looking pretty and ominous ambiguous prophetic lines. Also I guess eternal pretty boy looks since how does he look the same in TB flashbacks and in X, Kakyou plz reveal me your secret?? 7/10 cuz of L'oreal hair

Satsuki - guess she either does carnage or gets all touchy with Kanoe. Also gets comforted by Yuuto from time to time. Girl has the range and taste so 8/10

Seishirou - god forbid something upsets him cuz he will try all of these, in this order:

I have so many questions regarding your dieties post. How does a god say no to you? What does that look like, how does it happen? Is it a dream, a vision, a meditation? I'm obviously having a hard time conceptualizing humans being in contact with gods. How did you know you were bound to the goat footed God? (And also do you mean the devil?). And how did Hestia and Apollo come to you? How did you know it was them? Is it like talking to ghosts?

Hi :) Lots of valid questions here. I will say that a lot of my communication and contact came after prolonged periods of heavy investment/practice into divination and psychism. These are learned skills that anyone can pick up and practice.

To me personally and specifically, here is what happened:

When working with the Hekate figurine, it was about the vibes. She never "spoke" to me on any level. I just got the vibe that she wasn't super comfortable with me. Like you know when you walk into a room and you see someone and you can just tell they don't want you to be there?

I mean yeah, we pick that up through body language and stuff. But for me, that information is imparted to me through emotional feeling. Physical feelings within my body connected to emotions.

When I walk into a room and somebody doesn't want me there, my reaction isn't, "oh, he shifted his left foot 1cm to the left and glanced down." In fact, I might not really register these behaviors in any analyzed way. Instead, I just get a weird cold sense in my tummy and I feel better when I move away.

That is what I mean by the vibes. I just felt it, in a physical emotional way. She didn't particularly care to be around me.

Odin was a very different story. So, the Goat-Footed God is a figure shrouded in mystery. In Soft Polytheism style, I've often wondered if he's actually a named god of lore. Like maybe he's actually Cernunnos, or Pan, or -- Odin!

My god does have many similarities to Odin, and one day I got deep into this rabbit hole like hey, maybe he REALLY IS Odin, I should explore this more!!

That night, I dreamed. I try to remember my dreams as a normal course of action. I dreamed that Odin and some other Nordic gods (I didn't talk to any of them) came up to me while I was doing something unrelated on a space ship.

Odin smiled at me and shook his head in a sort of friendly way, but also in a closed-off way. The sort of smile you give to lone person standing with a sign at an airport who gets really excited when you walk through the door: "Sorry, it's not me you're waiting for - I hope I didn't confuse you."

Early this year (several months ago, for you people in the future) our house was under renovation that lasted almost three months. Well, this causes conflict in the home. There were constant arguments between my partner and his father (the three of us live together).

I was pretty much up-in-arms about the situation as my partner was under immense stress. At that time, I saw someone reblog a post about Hestia. It had that feeling for me. Hestia, hearth, bread-baking - it stuck in my mind like a little thorn.

I see a hundred posts about gods a day I'm sure, and none of them ever make me really curious about the god. People reblog all day long about Artemis and Apollo and while I enjoy the content and learning, I never feel that pinprick: ah, Artemis, moon and archery, I can't get her out of my mind-

But I felt that way about Hestia. Now I'm not a proper pagan - I don't research gods or do reconstructed/historical practices or anything like that. So why Hestia would come to me was beyond me.

Then I felt the nudge, you know. I might be wrong about the exact specifics - this was a brief encounter almost a year ago - but the nudge is like this:

Have you ever had a thought you don't want to think about, and your mind kind of flexes like a fist squeezing closed, and the thought is blotted out? And if you're quick enough and good enough at battling your own thoughts, that flex can come before the thought ever fully flourishes, like just the hint comes - and the emotions start seeping through for a fraction of a second - and your mind yanks its own reins. And the thought is closed off (until it comes again, as it always will).

So I feel a nudge, that nudge of a thought coming through. And I watch my own mind a lot, I like to know what it's up to. I feel the nudge and my mind starts to say no, and the bit of emotion seeps through, and I think - ah. This is a goddess trying to contact me.

How did I know it was a goddess? When you see someone in a dream that looks nothing like your friend, doing something your friend would never do, how do you know it's your friend? "I just knew it was John, it was strange."

I knew it was a goddess in the same way. I don't know how I knew. I just did.

Then, I remembered Hestia sticking in my mind like dry dough to a pan. I was very pleased with myself that I put it together immediately. I lit a candle for her and she taught me some things, and for a while I made bread in her honor.

I know now I'm bound to the Goat-Footed God after about a decade of experience, input from very helpful friends, and readings from a couple extremely talented practitioners (@thespellweavingspirit is one of them, and sometimes does sell readings). The entire tale is too long and personal to recount (yes, sometimes I do privacy!)

I met Apollo while I was under the influence of entheogens and lying in the dirt. The Eucalyptus trees were lovely and fluttering. The sun was bright, and as I became one with the world, the great star shone through my whole body, and I saw its indweller. I see why people like him. It was a magnificent experience.

Even if the Sakamaki's had enough room for having an extra bride, they never actually received 2 brides at the same time (Shu knew they were receiving two brides but wanted to see Reiji stressing himself over it).

So, at first, Corina had to sleep in one of the guest's rooms for approximately 1 week before Reiji's familiars finished preparing a customized room for her.

Reiji put some books on her desk and left a note saying that it was chosen by him, but when Corina got a book to read, she noticed all of the books had an old language that she couldn't understand.

When she tried complaining to him about it, he just looked at her with an uninterested face and said “It's an opportunity for you to use that brain of yours for something and try to learn a new thing. Now, please, I need to finish this potion, or would you prefer to stay and test it for me?”. Corina left the laboratory almost instantly.

Not big, not small, always a mess.

Her clothes live around the room, it's not like Corina doesn't want to put them in the wardrobe, but she's too lazy to do it, and the mess she makes with her clothes makes the room feel cozy, so it's more like a win-win case.

She loves to overly decorate it, hates the brothers rooms because they just look so... empty, like, a chair is not enough decoration, Subaru!

She has some portraits of herself and her mom around her room. There were also a few ex-friends photos around her room too, but they were slowly being replaced with photos of Corina with Yui and the Sakabros.

i just feel like my dream job is a dynamic job, nothing too stagnant, but then again that can just be my age talking yknow? maybe when im older i'll just want a good paying job that allows me to be w my loved ones so who knows. ideally though, it would require me to be outside some part of the time lol
