When Did We See You Naked? Jesus as a Victim of Sexual Abuse, ed. Jayme R. Reaves, David Tombs, and Rocío Figùeroa (SCM Press, London: 2021) + david tombs is a forerunner in reading the crucifixion as sexual abuse, approaching it from the methodological viewpoint of human rights abuses in latin america. this isn't about bdsm, but it is about sexuality in theology and it provides an incredibly necessary counterpoint to any discussion of power dynamics.

i'm missing a few titles but i'll look through my library and add them when i can.

edit: bolded my favourites, also heyward is the only book that to my knowledge is not available on zlib or annas-archive.

DP and Dc characters first meet at pride where Batman was giving out hugs.

First hero ever phantom is known to go to pride events, and that so happens to be where he meets Batman for the first time.

Dani isn’t really a girl, but they aren’t really a boy. They just, are.

Bart forgets to tell the rest of young justice that he is gay, which may have become a problem when he was caught kissing Phantom on their date

Twitter is convinced Batman is dating Clark Kent, and Bruce Wayne is dating Superman.

Ace(possibly aro) Damian trying his damndest to date and it never going well cause he doesn't know wtf is up with his own head. Him either entering a qpr with someone/s or finding someone else who is ace.

Dani ends up in Bludhaven during June. Dick spots a small, lonely girl staring around in wonder. Things happen, particularly Dad!Dick activates.

Dan and Jason meeting at an Ace support group

Danny meets Battinson at pride, but both as heroes.

Bruce's kids finding him, in a bad disguise, at Pride with a new partner they've never met.

Lawyer!Jazz meets Selina while working for a non-profit firm, and they hit it off.

Wes and Bernard meet at a conspiracy convention.

Halfa Jason au where his ghost form manifests surprisingly feminine.

Dani meets a hot girl at the skatepark.

It’s Amity’s first pride parade! It goes surprisingly well, but the justice league is called.

The batkids only learn that Alfred is actually trans when Danny joins the household and Alfred's like “me too.”

Julia Pennyworth brings home her new girlfriend, Jazz Fenton.

Poindexter attends Pride and is finally able to feel accepted.

Katherine Kane and Sam Manson first met at a gala when it was interrupted by a rogue attack and they were the only two that did anything about it.

Tucker is the only one that can solve the Riddler’s questions. His reward is a dinner date.

Tucker goes to Gotham with one mission: get the gay Robin’s autograph. This proves harder than originally thought.

While working with Leslie Thompkins, Jazz meets Harper Row—part time doctor's assistant and part time vigilant.

Dash ends up going to Gotham U. Finally away from his dad's expectations, he lets himself explore the part of himself he had to keep buried. Dick runs into him at a gay bar and decides this obviously out of his depth guy needs support. Eventual Core Strength but only after Dick tries to help set Dash up with a date and realizes he's jealous.

A series of shenanigans where the batfam thinks that Jason is lying about having a boyfriend. Danny is a cryptid who keeps getting pulled away by either ghost king duties or general shenanigans.

● you met Cullen when he brought his and Harper's car in to your garage to get the engine fixed

● he heard through some mutual acquaintances that you could fix up cars for cheap thanks to "finding" parts that frequently "fell off" of the transportation trucks

● you thought he was cute and was flirting with him hard, offering to fix the car for free in exchange for a date

● he was really into you but nervously said yes because the last guy he went out on a date with did a total 180 the moment he found out Cullen was trans

● the date went better than Cullen could have even imagined and he really wanted to tell you the truth before he fell too hard for you and got his heart broken

● he was surprised when you were completely unfazed by it

● "you're still into me?"

● "of course I am, I like you a lot Cullen and I'm going to kiss you now if you're okay with that"

● "I am really okay with you kissing me"

● when Cullen told Harper he had a boyfriend she immediately needed to meet you

● she pulled the whole "if you hurt my brother I'll hurt you" speech

● but unlike most people you knew she actually meant it

● you and Harper end up getting along really well finding common ground in your shared love for mechanics and engineering

● Cullen brought you into his, Harper's and Duela's little thievery club

● you're the perfect getaway driver and can lose any cop car in a high speed chase when needed

● a lot of the crews stash gets hidden in your garage now since the three of them of don't have any permanent residency so it's safer than them carrying it around town in backpacks

● Duela still hasn't forgiven Harper for having her backpack with $500 in it stolen on the subway after pawning a bunch of designer handbags they lifted while breaking into some rich lady's penthouse

● Cullen much rather prefers sleeping in your bed in the small loft above your garage than in their car or whatever cheap and trashy motel room they can rent for a week

● and when winter comes around and the shitty motel owners in Gotham raise the room prices to take advantage of all the unhoused folks trying to get off the streets Harper and Duela start sleeping on your couch

● Duela gags having to watch you and Cullen be all cute and coupley 24/7

● Duela "I think I'd rather go freeze to death in the snow than have to be subjected to this tooth rotting sweetness any longer"

● Harper "if you leave I'm keeping your cut of the jewelry we stole last night"

● Cullen "I think Duela owes Y/N part of her cut anyways for scratching the new paint job on his car"

● "seriously Duela you are never driving my car again"

● Duela "it's not my fault you were busy getting handsy with Cullen in the backseat when you were supposed to be on lookout for the cops"

● "Hey Harper is the one who should have known the store had a silent alarm!"

Batfamily Sexuality Headcanons

Bruce Wayne – Straight, but a super supportive ally to his gay kids and exudes strong Bi Wife Energy because his "type" is women who can kick his ass.

Dick Grayson – Hear me out: Heterosexual, biromantic. Confuses the hell out of him.

Jason Todd – I actually think Jason might be ace, or at least that he's put his sexuality on the back-burner for a while while he works out his other issues. That said, he's poly, and his ideal romantic situation of the moment is to be the queer-platonic live-in cuddle buddy of a male-female couple who are fulfilling their sexual needs with one another.

Tim Drake – He's either a biromantic demisexual or one of those guys who's always been full-on gay and just didn't realize it was an option for him, so he dated women because it's what society expected of him. Either way, the queer is canon bitches and Reddit can die mad about it.

Damian Wayne – Insists that he's straight, but only because he utterly refuses to examine any impulses to the contrary. It's important to give people time, y'know?

Barbara Gordon – Bisexual, but with a strong enough preference for men that a lot of people confuse her for straight and it's super annoying.

Bette Kane – Also bisexual, but with a strong enough preference for women that she reads as a lesbian, which can also get super annoying.

Kate Kane – Lesbian. Duh. Next.

Cass Cain – Pansexual, largely because she doesn't really get gender. That said, she'll know that you're trans before you do.

Stephanie Brown – ...look, I'm sorry femslashers, I know you're constantly starved for content, but Stephanie Brown is a straight woman. Specifically, she's the kind of straight woman who'd use National Coming Out Day as the chance to "come out" on social media as "purplesexual!" and then make another post like an hour later complaining about how "nobody these days knows how to take a joke."

Duke Thomas – Either cishet and a genuine ally, or bi and hasn't met the right guy to bring it out of him yet.

Jean-Paul Valley – Gay, with major religious trauma.

Lonnie Manchin – Also gay, with major non-religious trauma, the kind you get from growing up in a really strict conservative household.

Harper Row – Bisexual, but not as interesting to talk about because I think that's just canon.

Helena Bertinelli – probably straight, but she exclusively sleeps with bisexual men because she has no patience for cishet bullshit.

And Alfred Pennyworth is the omnisexual polyamorous widower of Thomas and Martha Wayne. I will not be taking any questions.

Shortland Street's Queer Women in 2022

We finished 2021 with an unexpected kiss between Samira and Francesca, plus two ongoing f/f relationships, and then 2022 turned out to be an absolute rollercoaster.

The new relationship between Samira and Francesca was very popular and absolutely lovely - and then went downhill very fast, as Francesca pushed too hard, then left the show. Samira immediately decided Marty was the love of her life instead, then promptly left the show without him.

Dawn tried to set Louis up with cosplayer Demelza but instead she kissed Dawn. Dawn was very flattered and is never good at saying no to people, but had to tell her she had been down that path before and it was not for her. Demelza turned out to be an ex of Maeve's (pre-Saskia) that she had a bad break up with which Maeve was apparently still harbouring a lot of anger over. I'm sorry Demelza didn't hang around after that.

Rosalyn left Leanne for a man who grew flowers; Rosalyn's side of the breakup all happened off screen. Leanne didn't swear off women forever (which would have been within character) but she did sleep with newly married Damo and then got involved with an evangelical church which would have drastic repercussions down the line. She did quit the church when her closest friend there proved homophobic, in time to prevent them fleecing her of all her money, so well done Leanne. Not sure if she'll get a girlfriend again but she has evolved a bit. Still trying to run Nicole's life though. And then at the end of the year Ros showed up for a funeral.

Nicole and Maeve have had a difficult year of never quite being on the same page, struggling with intimacy and whether the other really wants them. Which culminated in Maeve suggesting a threesome with a woman who had been flirting with Nicole because she thought that might make things better with Nicole. Nicole was not pleased but later trying to initiate a threesome with a man they worked with which Maeve said yes to but then freaked out about, and shortly after that Nicole decided their relationship had become too hard and asked Maeve to leave. Maeve did not take this well, got drunk a bunch and kissed Harper once. And then someone from Brightshine church killed Wilder, which briefly brought them back together in their grief, the year ended with them loosely together, Nicole obviously not happy about it, and Nicole was last seen in the IV as it burned down. Cliffhanger! On the one hand that's three f/f couples that have broken up on Shortland Street this year. On the other, that's a soap record, because no other soap has three unrelated (or overrelated) wlw couples to break up.

Saskia also returned for one episode for Wilder's funeral (not surprising - Amanda Tito had been doing some directing - including directing the episode where Nicole and Maeve first broke up).

Young Billy is still not quite up to full dialogue scenes, but has become more vocal with the addition of Marley, and there was a nice storyline where Marley wanted to wear a blue Frozen dress for Halloween to match Billy's princess dress. After Marley came home from school angry at being laughed at for wearing it to the school Halloween Drew also dressed in a dress to go trick or treating, leading to drama with a friend's parent who had unnecessary opinions. And Billy ended the year with a full sentence of dialogue!

In other news in November new doctor Gia Te Arakura was introduced when Jack employed her as a locum. Gia was avoiding meeting TK who had recently found out that the older child he was estranged from was dead, and it quickly became clear that Gia was that child, who had transitioned. And had also become a fully fledged doctor in the five years since she last appeared on the show as a teenager focused on rowing - we could solve the country's health worker shortage if we used Shortland Street's sped up training methods! Gia is played by trans actress Awa Puna.

So yes, a year with lots of ups and downs for the fans. Shortland Street is back from hiatus on Monday, it'll be interesting to see where they go this year.
