Last week, my older sister and I ordered onigiris from Onigiri Kai Kyo Tei located at Pacific Mall. My older sister ordered the creamy crab mayo while I got the tuna mayonnaise onigiri.
For the most part, we both enjoyed the onigiris — full review in my new blog post!

Toronto family perfecting vegan versions of Lebanese delights
Some people inherit precious heirlooms. Sharon Kelly inherited a love of cooking. “I learned it from my mom, and she learned how to make traditional Lebanese food from my Situ, which means grandma in Lebanese,” Kelly says. “I’m the youngest of five, but the only one that carried on preparing some of the traditional food.” In turn, she passed the practice on to her twin daughters, creative…

Hozier saw all the memes about musicians going on world tour to 3 cities and decided to go to every dead end sticks nowhere place instead. Saskatoon? You're on the list. Casper Wyoming? Fuck it why not. Bend Oregon? Never heard of her but she's been blessed. I love this mischievous ethereal weird man.

toronto food adventures
thought I'd document new places I eat a bit better!
Anyways here's where I had breakfast
the place is called: Rustle & still
Had a lemongrass banh mi and a Vietnamese iced coffee
At 12-15 bucks or so before tax, it's one of the pricier banh mi sandwiches you can buy but boy do they not skimp on the fillings
Great bread, great pickled veg 10/10
Oh also I appreciate when they provide the option of bottled versions of whatever signature drink a place makes, since it makes stuffing it in my purse easier

Toronto is about to be home to a pay-what-you-can restaurant that allows everyone barrier-free access to food.
Created by Chef Jagger Sean Gordon, Feed it Forward is an organization that's working towards ensuring affordable access to quality foods across the city through a number of different initiatives, and they're about to add one more.
Residents in the St. Clair West area of the city recently noticed something exciting going into a vacant space — a new location of Soup Bar by Feed it Forward, one of the organization's many PWYC restaurant concepts.
Soup Bar has existed in the city in various forms over the years, including a pop-up at Market 707 back in 2017, and the latest iteration will be officially opening for business on March 1 for at least six months serving hot and frozen soups, stews and chillis.

"Canadian shoppers may be more willing to admit that they've stolen from grocery stores lately, whether in defiance of corporate greedflation or out of sheer necessity amid an only partially-explicable spike in food prices, but the fact remains that shoplifting is illegal — and landing a charge could spell big, big trouble.
But it doesn't necessarily have to ruin your life, according to one local legal professional who will defend anyone arrested for stealing food from grocery stores pro bono (as in for free) right now.
Licenced paralegal Frank Alfano, whose firm represents people all over the Greater Toronto Area, published an Instagram post earlier this week that is as much of a public service announcement as it is an advertisement for people seeking legal help.
"Criminal convictions have many serious consequences such as jail time, a criminal record, not being able to travel to America, not being able to get some jobs and more," reads the caption of that post.
"We understand that it is difficult to deal with criminal charges by yourself... We offer legal services for criminal offence summary convictions as regulated by law society of Ontario. To qualify for free representation this must be your first offence, the value of the goods must be less than $5,000, and it should be in the GTA area."
The post displays an image of someone stealing food with the text: "You do not deserve a criminal record because you wanted to feed yourself or your family!" — a sentiment Alfano believes in strongly."
