A Tamagotchi Wearable?
TamaTown, a popular Tamagotchi fansite has made a discovery that Bandai might be interested in a future Tamagotchi wearable. It appears that Bandai has filed a recent trademark for a wearable device back in March. Could Bandai be considering a future wearable Tamagotchi similar to the Digimon Vital Bracelet? No further information provided, and it is important to note that not all trademarks see the day of light.

Hot Topic Lists Zenitsutchi & Inosuketchi Demon Slayer Tamagotchi’s!
The Demon Slayer Tamagotchi sure is getting a lot of love lately! Hot Topic, the popular American counter-culture related clothing and accessories store, has listed two Demon Slayer Tamagotchi’s on their website! Currently listed are the Zenitsutchi and Inosuketchi shells. Interestingly enough the Inosuketchi shell is not supposed to be released until June 1st, 2021 but Hot Topic shows that they are very much in stock!
You can order both online, or even schedule pickup in store. No word on in store availability at this time. You can also score 30% off on your order with a promo code bringing the Demon Slayer Tamagotchi down to $17.49. Not a bad deal for being one of the first to get your hands on this particular shell. Hot Topic also has beautiful pictures of both devices which we really enjoy!

Demon Slayer Tamagotchi First Impressions
Bandai America sent us the Demon Slayer Tamagotchi (specifically Zenitsutchi model) back in February to review and we want to share our first impressions of this highly anticipated manga/anime collaboration. Remember, this device has been ported over to North America, its programming is original and features the Japanese language. Here’s our first impressions of the device:
Packaging - The packaging is much smaller than what you’re used to from the other Tamagotchi Nano’s released in North America. It’s merely five inches tall by almost three inches wide, it’s tiny! The design of the packaging is identical to the Other Tamagotchi Nano’s, it features that cardboard slip in the back, and translucent plastic in the front which showcases the Tamagotchi and its chain. The demon slayer graphics are super cute and peak over the actual Tamagotchi itself on the front, and the back features a translated sticker placed by Bandai America over the Japanese verbiage. This sticker provides the usual legal disclaimers, battery information, and also notifies owners of the Japanese verbiage, and where to download the English manual.
Build Quality - Like all Tamagotchi Nano’s, the device is solid! It’s the kind of Tamagotchi you won’t need to worry so much about if you drop it. If you haven’t had a device on the Tamagotchi Nano platform you should know that the device itself is very small, its only a bit larger than a quarter. It also features a rounded bottom so it does not sit flush on a table or flat surface. The paint featured on the front shell looks high quality and we wouldn’t worry too much about it rubbing off over time. Now our favorite part, and most unique part of this device is the colors of the shell. Our Zenitsutchi shell features orange in the front, and brown in the back. This dual color Tamagotchi Nano is unique to the Demon Slayer Tamagotchi, and we must say we love this look. That’s not all! The Demon Slayer Tamagotchi’s also feature a unique and beautiful chain like nothing you’ve seen on prior Tamagotchi versions. It features larger rectangular links separated by smaller circular links. It’s a beautiful chain design, but the only flaw it that it is not as flexible as the other ball type chains.
Screen - The Tamagotchi Nano platform features a higher resolution screen than the Tamagotchi Mini platform, so you’ll notice more pixels and details over the Mini. It is very important to note that the screen on these Tamagotchi Nano’s is recessed, its cute deep in the device and is very hard to photograph because of the reflection and necessary angle to capture a clear shot. We highly recommend a good ring light or excellent outdoor lighting to get a good picture. The larger Demon Slayer sprites on the screen make it really easy to see what’s going on at any given time.
Game Play - Unique game play, which we LOVE! Let’s be honest, this is NOT the first Tamagotchi Nano so we are glad that Bandai focused on making it unique for the devoted Demon Slayer fans! After booting up the Tamagotchi, and setting the time, you’ll join the Demon Slayer Corps once approved which will allow you to get your uniform.
You’ll start off with Mizunoto that you’ll take care of for 24 hours, and you’ll need to not only feed Mizunoto but also practice training, and complete missions through the day, even at night! This Tamagotchi kept us on our toes, we were constantly fighting off demons!
The mini games are actually trainings in this device. You are able to train by splitting stones where you have to align the sword in the center of the stone and split five stones for a perfect score. The second training is gourd breaking, where you simply press the “A” button for 15 seconds as many times as you can and build the strength to break the gourd! Lastly, you can train with medicated water, where you press both the “A” or “B” buttons as they are displayed on the screen.
Depending on the training you provide to Mizunoto determines which character you’ll get! Several Demon Slayer characters are featured and an be raised. You’ll also need to make sure you keep your eyes glued to this Tamagotchi between the missions, and recent reports where you will sometimes see the Kasugai Crow that will bring you a report from something happening elsewhere. You can review the report to stay informed. The gamification of this version really keeps it entertaining.
We are really enjoying this collaboration. Both Demon Slayer and Tamagotchi have huge followings, and this is truly a win for both communities! We really enjoyed training our Mizunoto, watching the evolutions, and completing missions frequently. This collaboration is really interactive and and is bringing Demon Slayer fans into the Tamagotchi community everyday. Not to mention there are plenty of shells to choose from (and more coming). Be sure to get your hands on this adorable collaboration because they won’t be around for too long and you won’t want to miss our on a piece of collaboration history!

Tamagotchi Meets Application Gets Decorated For School Entrance Ceremony Season
The Tamagotchi Meets application has received a season decoration for the celebration of Japan’s School Entrance ceremony season! What is Japan’s School Entrance Ceremony season? Well in Japan there is a ceremony held in the beginning of April, when school starts in Japan, unlike September or August in other countries. This ceremony is where new students gather in the school auditorium and sing a national anthem, names of new students are read, and the principal makes a speech. There are a few other activities such as student representatives taking an oath, and singing a school song together. This signifies the start of the school year in Japan.
So Bandai Japan wants to celebrate! The Tamagotchi Meets application now features a new structure right in the Tama Park to help celebrate! You’ll see that the new structure is a school with a large clock, and a large sign at the top informing users of the entrance ceremony. This is very cute and unique to the Tamagotchi Meets application. Happy school entrance ceremony season to those in Japan!

The Tamagotchi Cemetery
In 1996, a pet cemetery in Pontsmill, Cornwall was the first to diversify their interments and fence off a dedicated section for the burial of electronic pets. When CNN reported in 1997, they equated this very modern mourning with the established love that British people have of their traditional, breathing pets.

Digimon Vital Bracelet App Update Fixes Bugs & Previews Online Battles
We are super excited to see that Bandai is really focusing on the Digimon brand, and continuously improving their products! An upcoming update to the Digimon Vital Bracelet application will offer some bug fixes. Bandai Japan also used this time to tease a big upcoming feature. This big feature is most likely why so many fans purchased the Vital Bracelet, this is the ability to have online battles! A screenshot was provided in a recent tweet from the official Digimon Web account and fans haven’t stopped drooling since! Online battles were actually something Bandai announced last month via a tweet from the official Digimon Web account. Per the calendar, this feature should be available in late April 2021.
The less exciting part of the update is the fixing of some bugs, including a server side issue causing Digimon to appear to be copied when using the application. The application will be down for 4 hours today for this server maintenance. When the application is back up and running, Digimon will be corrected, including raising related errors too.
Bandai will be gifting Digimon Vital Bracelet app users five 60m Evolution Timer items for the inconvenience of this four hour outage. The application should be back up and running by 15:00 Japan time.

Bandai UK Releases V2 Tamagotchi Original Commercial
If you think you’ve seen this commercial before, it’s because you have! It looks like Bandai UK has updated the Tamagotchi Original commercial that we’ve seen in the United States for a while now with some new graphics. The differences include the pop up graphics including arrows and hearts. Other than that you will see an updated Tamagotchi Original shell featured in the commercial, and the last frame includes four Tamagotchi Original shells and one in the box!
The updated commercial seems really cute, and it is important to note that Bandai UK informs viewers that the Tamagotchi Original is available at Smyths. However Smyth’s isn't the only retailer, most notably The Entertainer does carry the Tamagotchi Original as well!
