2) Your Certain Charms | Explicit | 20,417 words

3) Burning Through The Shadows | Explicit | 25,990 words
“He’s Louis Tomlinson,” the General spoke from next to Louis. “The Sun Summoner, moi tsar,” the General said, looking at Louis. “He will change the future,” the General said, looking at the king and the queen. “Starting now.” The General raised his hand and shadows creeped up from every corner of the Great Hall, enveloping them all in darkness. Louis was reminded of the time when these shadows had protected him, them, from the harsh winter of Ravka. “Now call the sun,” the General leaned in and whispered in Louis’ ear.
4) Magical Soup | Explicit | 28,580 words
Slytherin prefect Louis Tomlinson’s seventh year at Hogwarts takes an immediate turn for the worse when he’s made to be potions partners with Harry Styles, Hufflepuff’s resident heartthrob and class clown.  Louis has always considered Styles to be a terrible show-off who coasts by on his charm and good looks, but the more they work together, the more he questions that idea.  As term goes on, will Louis be able to admit to himself that he might actually like Harry Styles after all… and maybe, just maybe, as more than a friend?
5) Blue Lotus | Explicit | 29,824 words
Note: The pairing in this fic is Louis/OMC.
After the Second Rebellion and the dismantling of President Cowell’s regime, Louis struggles to make sense of life.
6) Ours Are The Moments I Play In The Dark | Mature | 30,830 words
Jane Austen’s Persuasion AU. Nine years ago Louis Tomlinson was persuaded to break off his engagement to Harry Styles, a poor sailor. Since then Louis has come to regret being so easily convinced to give up his one chance of happiness. Now Louis’ family is in debt and his childhood home is being sold. In a complete reversal of fortune, Harry has returned to England a wealthy bachelor looking to settle down. Events conspire to bring them together once more though Louis is- must surely be- the last man on earth that Captain Styles would think of now.
7) Dangerous Liaisons | Explicit | 42,589 words
Note: This fic is locked and can only be read by AO3 users.
Niall is the master of deceit and Harry is the master of seduction. Louis is just a very strong willed male model who happens to be straight. When Niall tells Harry he wouldn’t be able to seduce Louis, the bet is on, but Niall’s schemes are hard to avoid.
8) Inside Your Bones | Explicit | 43,550 words
Note: The pairing in this fic is Louis/OMC.
Louis keeps trying to make peace with his past, but it’s hard when the past is all too present.
9) A Promise Lives Within You Now | Explicit | 45,925 words
A Lord of the Rings-inspired Middle Earth AU. Louis is an Elven prince, next in line to become King of Mirkwood, and Harry is the orphaned Human boy who grows up alongside him. They fall in love, but Louis’s obligations to the throne, Harry’s mortality, and impending war threaten to tear them apart.
10) Secret’s Safe With Me | Explicit | 59,207 words
When bad turbulence and three glasses of wine have Louis spilling all of his secrets to the man sitting next to him on the plane, it’s embarrassing, sure, but it’s also easy enough to shrug off and block out of his memory forever. Or at least, it was until Louis went into work on Monday morning and realized that the man from the plane is the new CEO of his company.
11) Mead Of Poetry | Mature | 65,053 words
Under the pressure of continuing the Styles viscountcy line now that he is getting older, Harry sets himself three rules to finally settle down and marry: firstly, the omega needs to be reasonably attractive, secondly, they must be of great mind, thirdly, they cannot be anyone he would ever fall in love with. Enters Charlotte Tomlinson, the diamond of the first water of the upcoming season and seemingly the perfect candidate to the viscount’s plan, but her omega brother, Louis, is in Harry’s way. Louis only seeks to protect his sister and he sure is not going to let a rake play with her heart.
12) King Of My Heart | Explicit | 83,712 words
Harry shrugged, his shoulders brushing against Louis’. “I think since I was young, I craved that feeling, though. I didn’t always hate being a prince, but over time, certain aspects of it just bothered me so much. I remember being four years old and realising that every person in the world knew my name, and I wasn’t sure if I wanted that. I told my mum as much and she tried telling me that being a prince is not a punishment. That it was a privilege that I should be happy about it, but no one asked me if I was. But looking up at the sky, I remember that all of this will one day mean nothing, and neither will I. All the pressure will then disappear and I could just be.” Louis stayed quiet, allowing Harry the space to open up because he knew Harry wasn’t looking for advice, but just someone to confide in. What he wished he could tell him was that in the short amount of time that he’d known the prince, in Louis’ eyes, he couldn’t be insignificant if he tried. He was brighter than every star up there in the sky. He was all Louis could look at and think about.
13) A Taste of Desire | Explicit | 104,414 words
“As forward as I have been with you this evening, I am also aware this dinner party isn’t the place to conduct business.” Mr. Tomlinson chuckles quietly to himself, shooting a subtle glance across the table towards their hostess. “And besides, I am sure our hostess would be horribly disappointed to learn that we went away this evening with a business agreement and not a mating one.” Harry, who had been sipping his wine, coughs harshly at this. He splutters, unaccustomed to such blatant statements about mating. Mr. Tomlinson continues to laugh quietly, clearly pleased at Harry’s reaction. “Mrs. Humphreys promised that there was an alpha attending the dinner tonight that I would certainly get on well with,” Mr. Tomlinson continues, voice teasing. “She assured me that we would have much in common since we both work with mills.” Mr. Tomlinson glances at Harry, eyes flashing with mirth. “Little did she know that would be where our mutual interests began and ended.”
14) Our Endless Numbered Days | Explicit | 120,815 words
“Harry?” whispered Louis, his mouth dry, his nose pressing against the other’s warm skin. “Mh?” Harry’s humming was gentle, his fingers lightly caressing the younger boy’s arm, his chest steadily rising and falling beneath Louis’ cheek. A couple of seconds passed, and Louis looked up at him in the darkness of the cave, barely able to make out the expression on his face. When he tried to inhale deeply, his breath hitched. He struggled to find the words to tell Harry what he was thinking about. Another couple of seconds passed, and Louis listened to the reassuring beating of the prince’s heart beneath his cheek. He couldn’t. “Nothing,” he whispered, his voice weak. I think you’re half of my soul.
15) Tainted Saints And Velvet Vices | Mature | 126057 words
A self-fulfilling Hogwarts AU in which Louis is new to seventh year and Harry is the resident devil-may-care Slytherin set to make his entire experience a living misery. Due to less than favourable circumstances they’re forced to forge an unwilling, tentative relationship for their own survival. Repressed emotions, decidedly unromantic ballroom dancing, Triwizard Tournament tasks, creative jinxes and twilight flying above the Forbidden Forest ensue.

Do you in red queen univeres is like harry potter. The silvers are like the pureblood family. Mare is a newblood like being a muggles born witch and Julian is more like Dumbledor or the Weasley what do you think?
I'm gonna say the universe itself does seem to lend itself to those categories! Or sub-catagories! It also very easily lends itself to a Hogwarts AU! PREPARE FOR AN AU UNDER THE READ MORE
I mean, Mare seeing her favorite big brother Shade receive a super pretty envelope from this strange school saying he is a wizard and is being offered a position in that school? Going to Diagon Alley with her family and Shade picking out a owl, and old faded robes cause he family really can't afford anything else. Then her hugging him tightly as he has one foot on this strange train and one foot on the strange platform that they had to run through a brick wall to get to?! Holding his hand through the window and running along side the train as he promises to write her every week before she runs out of platform and has to stop as the train pulls away and he is waving and smiling wildly at her. Her little hand slowly falling from her wave to be by her side and she wishes desperately to be on that train with him? ONLY TO RECEIVE HER VERY OWN PRETTY LETTER THE NEXT SUMMER? She gets to do the whole process! And she has all these fantasies about what it will be like based on the letters Shade sent her all last year. She wants an owl, or a salamander, or something like that. And she want to play the strange quidditch game he mentions. She wants to run up and down staircases that change. When she gets on the train with him, she practically pulling out of her mom's arms, and almost forgets to hug a very upset Gisa goodbye.
On the train, Shade tells her all the details, introduces her to his friends: ketha (a second year like him), Ada (a sixth year), and Farley (a second year that Mare is incredibly intimidated by until she sees Shade heart eyeing her every two seconds).
They tell her about the houses. Shade is more than proud to be sorted into Hufflepuff even though Farley teases him about it and Ada only smiles at the whole thing. But they all get quiet about Slytherin. It's not a house you want to be in, Shade says quietly. Mare doesn't quite understand. Cunning? what's so bad about being that? Smart and quick witted? Hell, there's nothing wrong with it.
Then she meets them. The Slytherins. And she sees why she shouldn't be a part of that House. But then she meets the strange, dark haired, blue eyed boy at the back of the group with her, who tries to sit in a boat alone until Mare clambers in behind him, cursing the fact that her socks got wet and they're going to be gross and her shoes will squelch while she walks. He seems a little uncomfortable around her big personality until she introduces herself, and he smiles and shakes her hand, quietly introducing himself as Maven. Nothing more. Mare doesn't mind, loads of people don't give their last names.
Then she's in the Great Hall, underneath the Sorting Hat, Shade smiling at her like a fiend from the Hufflepuff table while Maven is already sitting at the Slytherin one, slouched and looking just a bit upset. (It's not what you think y'all. it's because CAL's a Gryfindor, and their dad was too and he still wants to get his fathers love, and he pretty much just CEMENTED the fact that he won't get it now.) Mare sees him, and the Sorting Hat huffs and says, making friends already? Mare frowns and then thinks back it: he's lonely. And the hat laughs before saying: loyal then, hufflepuff might do you well. She makes a face and it laughs once again when she thinks: I can do better than that. And it seems to nod in understanding before standing upright and announcing SLYTHERIN. Maven sits up taller as Mare leaps down from the stool and runs to him with a big, shit eating grin on her face. Shade goes a little pale in the face but smiles at her nonetheless. It's his baby sister, and if she's happy, he is too.
She's very happy. Slytherin isn't all that bad. Maven's her friend and he's a very good one. He's smart as a tack, and knows all these neat tricks to get through work. But its when they go out to fly on the brooms where they differ finally. Maven is... not a fan of being off the ground. Mare... she could live up there. She tries to get him interested but he jut won't have it, preferring to bury his nose in books and study. (Mare wonders why he wasn't sorted into Ravenclaw like Ada, but she shrugs it off).
It's one day when they're all out walking and that girl Evangeline starts teasing some kid and throws his whatever in the air that things finally get interesting for Mare. In a very impressive showing of skill, she catches this tiny object while flying. IMMEDIATELY, the captain of the Slytherin team wants her as his Seeker. Its UNHEARD OF everyone argues. NO FIRST YEARS allowed! But it's vetoed, and Mare is allowed to play. Shade is more than proud, puffing out his chest, and forcing her to walk around with him so he can introduce her to his class and everyone as the youngest Seeker in years.
It's after she is sneaking out of the Gryffindor tower one night, having stayed to talk with Shade and Farley who is finally losing some of her Ice Queen exterior and even cracked a smile at one of Mare's jokes, that she almost gets in trouble. She is sprinting down the stairs of the tower when she runs smack into someone so they both end up tumbling down the stairs and hitting the back of the Fat Lady's portrait when they land. She stumbles over apologies, trying to grab her things in the dark (and pocketing one or two of his by accident), when she looks up. She's seen him before, she know she has, but can't remember from where. Plus, it's a little dark and she can't see him all that clearly. He's sitting there, tie undone, and shirt all messed up from falling, and rubbing the back of his head where it hit the back of the portrait when he looks at her. HE knows her. This the girl who is the youngest Seeker in years! They blink at each other, and she tries to take off, but he grabs her wrist, keeping ahold of her as he says: Thief! when he realizes she grabbed a few of his things. She looks down at the mess of things in her arms, and then frowns at him before saying, No! These are my things! he pulls out his wand and book from her hands and she's like: okay, well, those aren't mine, but whatever. And he smiles at her as he stands and she's suddenly craning her neck to look up at him, and LORD ABOVE what did he eat as a child?! She squints up at him, still trying to place him when he shifts his things to his other arm and holds out a hand for her to shake. She looks at it, and then takes it slowly. His grip is so warm and comforting, but not sweaty like some of the other boys her age. He shakes her hand and introduces himself as Cal, and THEN Mare knows who he is. This is Maven's brother. The older one, the perfect spitting image of his father who is the "Perfect Son." Maven always sneers just slightly when he says that, and now that she has met this Cal, she knows Maven is right. Turning up her nose at him, she spins on her heel and leaves, completely uninterested.
Okay she lied, she was a little more interested than she let on. She sees him EVERYWHERE after that. He raises his brows at her in the Great Hall, and even smiled and said good morning Mare when she walked by with Maven to Charms one day. After that day, Maven gets really sullen, and tells her that she shouldn't talk to him, that he's trouble. He's a third year, in line to be Prefect and Headboy at some point. She doesn't want to get mixed up with wet blanket like that. She agrees, but something about him, his eyes, the gentle smile, and way he'd looked at her the first time he saw her makes her heart do a little jig every time she thinks about him.
Before she knows it, its the first Quidditch match, and she's set to play. She steps out in her beautiful green and black uniform, and while she's in the tunnel adjusting the straps on her wrist guard with her teeth, someone laughs behind her and says: there is a better way to do that. She looks up, the laces half in her mouth, and a tiny bit of drool running down her chin to see Cal leaning against his broom. Of course he plays Quidditch, she thinks with a scowl. What perfect son wouldn't? He takes her wrist though and ties the guard gently, pulling the laces perfectly through the loops. Maven tried to help her with it this morning but gave up when he couldn't do it. Her face burns with embarrassment but he doesn't notice, or at least, he pretends not to notice. When he finished both wrist guards, he shoulders his broom and with a wink says, "eyes up and head up, dont want to take a Blunger to face on your first day." He strolls away after that, and Mare stands there, watching his shoulders as he leaves. How does a thirteen year old boy manage to look like that?! Shaking it off she steps on the pitch but... that's all she remembers. She takes a nasty blunger to side of the head and falls to the pitch floor. When she wakes up, the entire Slytherin team is around her and so is half the Gryfinddor team, Farley is grimacing as she takes in the situation, and Cal is leaning over her, shielding her from the son. She frowns up at him before saying, "you didn't say they moved that fast." He snorts to hide a laugh as the medics take her off the pitch. Good news? She learns later in the Infirmary, they won! When she went down, Cal, the Keeper moved as if to go to her and they were able to put the Quaffle in to get the final point! Her captain claps her on the back, and she tries not to puke when the movement jars her head.
The year ends uneventfully, and she waves goodbye to Maven as she disembarks and he leaves with Cal. A woman with matching icy blue eyes and stark, ash blonde hair frowns at her as Maven smiles and waves his own goodbye. She pointedly ignores Cal's title wave goodbye.
The next year is much of the same but there is a... current in the air, a charge that wasn't there before. Something is happening, something dark in the world. Shade and Farley go to Hogsmead and talk about it, but Mare can't go yet. She sits in a hidden alcove of the Astronomy tower, watching the world outside with her books open before her. Maven is quieter this year, but there is a strange new confidence and glint in his eye. It worries her. He is not the boy she waved goodbye to at the beginning of the summer.
One day while studying, she hears footsteps and looks up to see Cal pausing along side her. Her stomach flip flops when she sees him. The summer did wonders for him. Somehow, he is more attractive. She didn't even realize that was possible. And she REFUSED to admit that she thought about him a few times... well more than a few times... over the break. He smiles at her and before she knows it, she's leaning toward him to talk. She asks why he's not at Hogsmead and he grimaces before saying he is struggling with Diviniation and has to take an extra class on it every week. She laughs, and the smile he gives her when she does laugh turns her stomach to molten lava. He helps her out of the windowsill and they walk to the Great Hall together. Maven intercepts them before then, his eyes narrowing and darkening when Cal waves goodbye and heads on his way. Mare nudges Maven with her shoulder and teases him saying: are you worried I might like him more than you? Maven glowers at her, and she softens before taking his hand and promising him that Cal is "a complete and utter moron, who she could never like." It seems to relax him, but not completely. Again, Mare worries. He was never concerned about Cal or any of this before.
The year works that way though. She slowly get closer to Cal. They have this strange unspoken agreement to meet at HER windowsill once a week and then walk along the ground by the lake. One day, in the winter, she forgets a thick enough coat, and is shivering in her sweater until he shrugs off his cloak and drapes it around her shoulders. She blinks in surprise, before smiling and thanking him. It's far too big on her and drags on the ground a bit, but its warm and it smells like him. Which she is terrified to realize she kind of likes.
She starts spending time in the Gryffindor tower too, getting closer with Shade's friends, and sometimes, Cal is there too. He's not really a staple (he and Farley don't really get along, something about her calling him a Pure Blooded Hypocrite), but Mare finds she likes when he is around.
That summer is terrible. Maven doesn't write her as much as he promised. And the world is getting Dark™️. There are strange disappearances on the TV. Things are getting weird. Shade gets secret letters from Farley that he hides from her. When they go back to Hogwarts, things are... different. There are guards, there weren't Guards before. Maven looks more gaunt and haunted. Even Cal doesn't seem as cheery anymore. They're walks around the lake go from once to twice to three times a week. He tells her about his side of the Wizarding World, and she learns about a group that is known as the Death Eaters (who serve a mysterious Dark One that wants to eliminate the muggle population and the mud bloods). Mare frowns when he says that word. He says it quietly, like its something bad. She's not sure why, it's a word. When she asks Farley about it, her friend's face hardens and she tells her it's a nasty term that Pure Bloods use to describe the people like them. The ones who come from non magic families.
She finds solace in Quidditch, she even goes out when Cal offers to show her a few tricks, and that time... it is strangely magical. She finally gets to go to Hogsmead, and spend time with Shade and Farley there. They have a new little group, a taller fifth year named Tristan is added, Ada is with them, Ketha, and a couple of others. Shade tells her to go off and find something to do one time and she ends up spying on them. When she does, she overhears them talking about the Dark One, that they are back and that is the reason so many Muggles are dying and disappearing strangely. That Hogwarts might not be safe anymore. She confronts Cal about it one day, and he stops dead in the snow, spins on her and says never to talk about it. That the Dark One is dead, has been dead for year and that she should never mention them. She is taken aback, he's never seemed so concerned to desperate before. So she drops it. But things get worse over christmas break.
When she returns, Maven is almost cold with her. She tries to tease him like she used to, but he just isn't having it. She clings tighter to him, worried that things are not going well at home. She knows his mother isn't great, knows his father is an asshole. She can't understand how two people like that managed to make someone like Maven, and someone like Cal. But she tries her best to be a friend for Maven. She can't help but get closer with Cal. Something about him draws her in, and keeps her.
One day at Hogsmead, she runs into him (literally, again). She slips on the ice and he catches her, his hands grabbing her hips and pulling her close so she has to grab the front of his coat and cloak to keep herself upright too. They look at each other for a long time, confused and full of butterflies before she spots Maven at the other end of the bridge. She was supposed to meet him at the sweet shop but was running late. His eyes narrow ever so slightly at what he sees, and Mare pulls away from Cal glaring at him and adjusting her hair when he blinks in confusion. She turns on her heel and leaves without a word, taking Maven's hand in her own as she passes him and dragging him along.
That summer, something changes fundamentally in the world. The world actually gets even Darker. Shade gets more worried, and Farley starts showing up at thier house. Mare know they are seeing each other. But she keeps it to herself. When they go back to Hogwarts... there are Guards on the train. She walks down the hallway and runs into Cal on his way to his compartment. The train rocks as she is trying to pass him and she ends up in his arms again. She's fifteen, and he's seventeen, old for a sixth year. But in his Prefect uniform, he looks quiet attractive, and somehow he got MORE attractive over the summer. The flutters that had once been nothing but tummy flutters when she was elven/twelve are now full blown butterflies in her stomach. She would never admit it, but she had a dream about him over the summer. About his hands on her hips and the stone wall of the Gryffindor common room rubbing against her back as she pinned her to it. She doesn't pull herself out of his arms right now though, there is something comforting about being in his embrace right now, when the world seems to slowly falling apart around them. He lets her go, a falsh of something in his eyes before he smiles at her and says, safe travels.
When they get to Hogwarts, she knows there is something wrong with Maven. He looks like a corpse, his eyes are dark and his features are sharper than usual. She tries to get him to smile for her, but he can't seem to muster much. So one day, out of desperation, she kisses him. He melts finally, and she melts with him, burning like Icarus when he got to close to the sun. They become... a thing for lack of a better term. He clings tightly to her, pulls her away from Farley and Shade and her friends, pointedly makes sure she doesn't spend time with Cal to the point where he actually seeks her out one day, and Maven jeers at him until he leaves. It scares her, he was never hostile, never a person like this. When she talks to him about it, he raves about things she doesn't understand. An In fact, he seems almost angry with her. She can't understand, she tries to get it out of him halfway through the fall, and he turns around and calls her a nasty Mudblood, jeering at her about the fact that is lucky he even considers her a friend. It breaks her heart, shatters it into a thousand pieces. She didn't kiss him just because it might make him feel better. She kissed him because she wanted to, because she thought it felt right (she also did it because a secret part of her hoped that kissing him would make the dreams about Cal stop.)
She stops hanging around him, the other kids like him and the other Slytherins embrace him instead, folding him into their group, while she starts to gravitate to Shade and Farley again.
they go home for Christmas, and the world tilts completely on its access. There is horrible accident that kills a number of families, and Shade immediately packs a backpack that night to go see Farley. Mare forces him to take her with him. When they get to Farley's, everyone is there, all the people Shade has been friends with. She learns they are forming a group, the Scarlet Guard, to defend themselves. The Dark One is coming back, and they will be ready.
When they return in the spring, the teacher for Defense Against the Dark Arts does not prepare them right. Mare feels like a child being handed a pair of children scissors to solve a grown up problem. She talks to Shade about it, and the group agrees. They need training. It's then that Mare does what cements her fate with Maven. She seeks out Cal. He is not looking too great either, there is something haunting his face and when she finally walks up to him one morning on the lawn near the lake, he looks at her suspiciously. She doesn't know why but she ends up curled against his side, sobbing. He's taken aback at first, and then soften, wrapping an arm around her while she tells him everything. With a tight jaw, and a nod, he agrees to help them training.
They form a secret group, and they start training. It's then that Mare starts to realize that perhaps she likes Cal more than she lets on. he's a good teacher, a very good one, and whenever he holds her hand and guides her wrist through a complex spell movement, she feels her face heat up. He's a sixth year, seventeen and on the cusp of greatness it seems. His OWLs were outstanding, he is set on the path she knows he wants. They train together privately. On a nondescript day like any other, she stays after to talk to him, and when she does, he kisses her. It turns her into a pool of liquid mercury, and when he breaks it off and gently caresses her cheek with his thumb she knows she is doomed.
They leave for the summer, and she writes him daily. He writes back, telling her about things happening at home. There are issues, his father is stressed, his step mother is being cagey, and Maven... he's not himself. She worries, Shade is a sixth year and she's just a fifth year, but the world feels like it is resting on their shoulders.
When they come back to school in the fall, Maven confronts her. He found the letters she wrote to Cal. He accuses her of a number of things she is horrified by. Cal steps in to push him back, and in a horrible moment, Maven draws his wand and puts to Cal's throat. The brothers stand like that for a moment, and Mare with her hand on her wand fears who she will have to point her own wand at. But Maven drops the wand, and that is that when he storms off.
The Scarlet Guard grows in number. And then it happens right before they leave for Winter Break. The earth shattering, horrible truth. The Dark One returns, and no where is safe. Hogwarts is under attack before anyone knows what is happening. Mare is fighting through the halls, throwing out hexes and charms she never thought she would have to use. She battles her way to Cal, who takes her hand and pulls her close. The Aurors arrive but they are not enough. Shade, Farley, Mare and Cal storm the upper tower. Cal makes them stay below in the hidden crawl space because Maven is up there and he can hear his father. When he gets up there, it is not what he thinks. Mare and Farley and Shade watch from below in horror as Elara uses the Imperius Curse to actually turn Cal on his father so he kills him. When that happens, the truth is revealed. Elara is the Dark One, or the new chosen Dark One among the Death Eaters. Mare storms up the steps before Elara can kill Cal, using the one spell she knows might end the duel. But Maven steps in and they end up dueling. With tears steaming down her cheeks, she tries to fight him off. But he is not fighting to stun her, he is fighting to kill her, to put her out of commission. She is disarmed, and in a horrible moment, thinks he will kill her. Elara is cooing at him to do it, to punish her for loving his brother instead of him. She pleads with him silently, begging him with her eyes not to. His lips twist as he struggles with the decision. It's too long, Shade and Farley get up the steps and force Elara and Maven to appirate away.
The world cracks open like an egg as war spills out after that.
HOLY SHIT THAT WAS LONG. ANYWAY, ENJOY EVERYONE. I'm not going back and rereading this so whatever you see is what you get XD

This started as a little head canon list but, not surprisingly, turned into more. Disclaimer - I have not read Harry Potter or seen the movies in years. So, I’m sure I got some things wrong about the world. Please forgive me!
@kit-12 I hope you like it! 😊
(Trigger warning - physical abuse)
*****
- Manon first notices him one day at lunch. His laugh echoes across the great hall and pulls her attention from the book she’s reading. It’s about magical creatures, her favorite subject. Not one usually considered suitable for Slytherins, so she has it hidden inside a larger volume on curses. As she watches him sit down with his friends who are on the Gryffindor quidditch team, she realizes she’s seen him at practices. Slytherin practices. She realizes she’s seen him in the library quite often too. She realizes ... he is now staring at her. Manon sneers at him but he just continues to smile at her. Slamming her book shut, she leaves the hall. Knowing he watches her every step. The heat flushing her skin is from annoyance she tells herself. Nothing more.
- Dorian never cared for quidditch but he is a regular in the stands. That first match he attended between Gryffindor and Slytherin in his second year, that first glimpse of the all female Slytherin team - his house called them Witches, with a capital W, implying something more, something darker, than a normal witch - he was hooked. Something about their captain caught his attention and never let go. Even as the years passed and he had crushes on other people, acted on them, earned a bit of a reputation. They’d never shared a class, and their houses hated each other. But always, he felt her presence, watched her from afar, seeking out that silvery white hair she wore in a long braid. Finally - finally! - she looks at him across the long tables. As if she never knew he existed before. As she stares, he can’t help but grin. Seeing her full on, her eyes glowing like torches, her full red lips and long eyelashes ... He’s unable, unwilling to look away. Even when she tries to give him a nasty expression. He sees her red cheeks as she leaves the great hall.
- Manon pushes the boy out of her mind. Pushes everything out of her mind except quidditch practice. Slytherin calls them The Coven because they are almost never apart. They share a dorm room, have been on the team since their second year - they’ve been the team - take all the same classes. But as much as she loves flying and playing this game, there’s always a bubble of anxiety building in her before each practice or match. Always on the edge of bursting. As they soar around the stadium, following the patterns and directions they’d been given to a T, she can’t help but glance at their Head of House, watching through cold, narrowed eyes from the top row of the teacher’s box. The Matron’s focus is not on them however, but a small group of students on the other side of the stadium. Manon looks, knowing who one of them will be. Just as she spots his curly, dark hair, a beater strikes her in the thigh, almost knocking her from her broom. If not for Asterin nudging her up, she would have fallen. Those cold black eyes are now on her. And Manon knows what’s coming.
- Dorian used the cover of a dedicated group of students who followed quidditch as if their lives depended on it to view practices. The Slytherin team’s aerobatics are hypnotic, and even though he still can’t always see the moves and predict their plays, he loves watching them fly. But he hates the violence of it. Especially now, watching Manon limp off the field. As the other fans disperse, he breaks away and makes his way to the locker rooms. The Witches are silently stalking through the hall and he ducks behind a corner. Manon is not with them. He doesn’t miss the worried faces though. Once they pass, he proceeds, poking his head around the open door into the Slytherin locker room. The slap surprises him, but it doesn’t seem to shock Manon. She takes it as if it’s nothing new. As if the blood now dripping from her nose is common enough that she doesn’t even bother to wipe it away. Another slap and droplets of blood fly. Another and another. All while the Matron screams in her face. Dorian can’t turn away even if he wanted to. He wants to tackle the Matron and return the blows. But he can’t do that either. Manon’s eyes slide past the Matron and find him, watching. Her only acknowledgement of his presence is a slight widening of her eyes. A warning. Go. But he holds her gaze, trying to reel in his anger and magic, hoping to show her she’s not alone.
- Manon breathes a sigh of relief when the boy - Dorian, she found out his name yesterday - disappears before the Matron turns to leave. She is alone. Not allowed to use magic to heal herself, not allowed to go to the infirmary. Her nose feels broken and it throbs as she sits down on the bench a little too heavily. She thinks about trying to find some ice at least, but she doesn’t move. Even when she hears soft footsteps, she is still. “Are you okay?” he asks, taking a seat next to her. She says nothing. Dorian pulls out his wand and is about to wave it when she says, “No. If she sees it healed, it will be worse.” He clenches his jaw so hard she thinks she can hear his teeth grinding. Finally, she looks over at him. His brows crease as he looks at her face. His brilliant blue eyes belie a secret connection. Like he knows exactly what she’s feeling. “Can I at least...” He swishes his wand and she feels a cold breeze. She sees an ice drop form at the tip and understands, nodding for him to go ahead. He mumbles a spell and icy comfort spreads across her face. Manon sighs deeply, savoring the relief. Dorian is watching her, as if connecting dots. Quidditch is a dangerous sport. But she often has injuries that go untreated. Most from practices, which should be less violent than an actual match. He is about to say something when she stands, slowly, and says, “Thank you.” She leaves him sitting in the Slytherin locker room and trudges back to the castle.
- Dorian only catches glimpses of Manon over the next few days, in hallways or on stairs just as they invariably move away from him. She’s never close enough for him to see if her nose has healed. He hasn’t told anyone what he saw. But he notices the looks he gets from the Witches. Surprisingly, they don’t look like they want to bite his head off. Which they could maybe do, literally. They’re all experts at transfiguration and give themselves pointed teeth before matches. To him, they offer grateful, if hesitant, smiles. More like a slightly upturned side of their mouth. But he’s nodded back. Tonight, in the library, he is carrying a large stack of books to the check out desk when he passes an aisle and sees white hair gleaming in the torchlight. She’s tucked away in a cubbyhole, her head buried in a book. Dorian approaches, making noise so she isn’t surprised by him. When she looks up, some faint bruising remains on her face, but no sign of a still healing break. Reading his face, she says, “It wasn’t broken.” Then, eyeing up the books, she asks, “Light reading?” Dorian laughs. “Actually, yes.” Manon examines him, not the books, and asks, “Why aren’t you in Ravenclaw?” He stretches to see what she’s reading. A very old volume on dragons. The pages look brittle and he sees she’s wearing gloves. Something about that makes his heart warm. “I don’t know. Perhaps the sorting hat saw something more in me.” She wrinkles her nose. “Gryffindors. Always thinking they are the best.” Leaning against the edge of her desk, he says, “I’d be the best in whatever house I got sorted into.” This makes her laugh, as he’d hoped. “So you’re into dragons? My father knows people that work with them.” He doesn’t know why he brings up his father. But his eyes keep falling on the bruises and he tries to ignore them. If he can give her a happy distraction, he will. “I like flying,” she replies with a shrug. Confused, he asks, “What does that have to do with it? You want to fly on dragons? Why not hippogriffs or something ... I don’t know, smaller? Something people can actually ride.” She gives him a wicked grin that kindles the fire inside him. “Maybe I like dangerous things,” she says, clearly aware of the effect her smile has on him. Dorian grins right back, leans down close, only a few inches from her, and says, “Maybe I do too.” And then, the stack of books in his arms begins to slide and he fumbles around trying to keep them from falling. Several hit the floor and Manon begins to laugh, a clear, sonorous laugh that sends that heat rushing through him again. But she gets up and helps him gather them together. As they both crouch, picking up books, they are again very close. She stills and without looking at him says, “I’m sorry you had to see that the other day.” Dorian frowns, wanting to argue that she has nothing to apologize for. But he just asks, “Are you okay?” She looks at him as though no one outside of her circle of friends has ever asked that. And then she smiles softly and says, “Yes.” He knows part of it is a lie. But only part.
- Manon tries to avoid him in the halls but it seems like he’s always there, always just walking around a corner. Always in her line of sight. As if he’d appeared out of thin air a few weeks ago to be her shadow. Stupidly, she realizes maybe she’s the one watching for him. It takes overhearing Vesta whispering about him to Asterin to make her understand. She snaps at them to mind their own damn business and storms off to the quidditch pitch. The stadium will be empty this close to dinner and she can sulk in peace. As she whips through the air, feeling badly about yelling at her closest friends, feeling badly about ignoring Dorian, she wishes the wind would take her troubles away. Begs it to somehow put her in another house. Away from the abuse of the Matron. Away from the constant needling of the other Slytherins to bully and harass other students. Away from the constant eyes judging her if she steps out of line. She remembers Dorian’s words about the sorting hat and how it must have seen something in him to place him in Gryffindor. What had it seen in her to put her in the darkest house in the school? Did she have nothing more to her than cunning and ambition? Surely she possessed bravery, and intelligence, and loyalty. Didn’t she? Something catches her eye and she sees him climbing into the stands. Expecting to feel annoyance, she finds herself smiling as she flies over to meet him. Hovering at eye level, she says, “Don’t you eat?” He grins and pulls a basket from his cloak. “Only if you will join me.” She can smell the steaming chicken and fresh bread. The chocolate brownies. Her stomach growls in answer and he begins to unpack the food as she lands next to him. They remain quiet, eating in silence until she can’t hold it in any longer. “Why are you being so nice to me?” Dorian looks adorably confused. “Because I like you?” Manon blushes. She can’t help it. His expression turns serious then. “I’ve wanted to talk to you for a very long time, but ... I didn’t want it to cause you any problems.” He doesn’t need to say what those problems are. She stares at him for a long moment, not sure of what to say. Until finally, she says, “I like you too.” And before she can talk herself out of it, because she wants to know if his lips are as soft as they look, because his smile sets her blood on fire, she kisses him.
- Dorian uses every excuse possible to ditch his friends each weekend they go to Hogsmeade. They suspect he has a new girlfriend but he’s managed to keep her a secret. Using an enchanted map he found in a book shelved in special collections, he sneaks back to the castle while they continue with their afternoon, thinking he’s merely a step or two ahead of them. Dorian hates that they have to keep it a secret, but he’d agreed with Manon when she’d requested it. He dreads seeing new bruises and that outweighed any annoyance he felt. As he sprints into the Room of Requirement, their meeting spot, he can’t wait to see her. Dorian stops dead in his tracks as he sees those bruises he’d feared. Manon tries to hide her face, but to no avail. “Hey,” Dorian says as he kneels down and gently pulls her hands away. Her gorgeous eyes are almost overflowing with tears. “Manon, what can I do?” She sniffs, “Nothing, I’m fine.” Her painfully swollen cheek says otherwise. Before he can think, his magic reacts, sending cold relief to her injuries. He lets her think it was deliberate, controlled. He says nothing about how her pain unleashes his magic, that it’s a manifestation of his hate and anger for the Matron. The potions professor who laughs at first years when they suffer burns or injuries in her class. The quidditch coach who beats her team captain at the slightest infraction. Too much, she reminds him of his father. The Minister of Magic who never fails to tell his son what an embarrassment he is. A man of power who hits with words almost as brutally as the Matron hits with fists. Pulling her close, he hugs her, until the shaking stops. “I hate this,” she chokes out between sobs. “I hate being punished for losing. I hate being watched. As if a Slytherin can only be one thing. I hate hiding here with you.” Dorian strokes her back. “I know.” He does know. The shame, the self hatred, the fear. Manon releases a long, slow breath, settling against him and wrapping her arms around his waist.
- Manon is rushing to her next class and almost misses the gossip exchanged between the two younger students. When it sinks in, she stops, almost running into a wall. “The matron got fired!” “What? Are you kidding? Don’t joke with me. I hate her.” “Everyone does. Or did. She can go rot now.” “What happened?” But the two disappear around a corner, leaving Manon shell shocked. Forgetting her class, she runs back to the Slytherin common room, ignoring everyone she passes in the tunnel. She finds Asterin in their room. Her best friend is grinning from ear to ear, a slightly dazed look on her face. “What the hell happened?” Manon asks. “A miracle!” Asterin calls, laughter overtaking her to the point she can barely speak. “A godsdamn miracle!” The Coven quickly join them, coming in one by one as they hear the news. Celebration is replaced by strategy as the teammates begin to discuss changes to their quidditch routines. They are a well oiled machine, so nothing much will be different. But at least they can use their own ideas for plays and techniques. Their door opens to reveal the Headmistress. Glennis Crochan eyes the young witches with a mildly disapproving look. The twinkle in her eyes does not go unnoticed however. She shoos everyone out except Manon. “I take it you’ve heard the news,” the Headmistress says. Manon forces a sober expression on her face. “Yes ma’am.” Professor Crochan sits on the edge of her bed and frowns. “I must apologize for not seeing the truth sooner, Ms. Blackbeak.” Manon feigns ignorance, but not for long. This wise, old witch is no one’s fool, despite mistaking the Matron’s evil tendencies for mere strictness. “She was an exceptional liar. I am so very sorry I believed anything she said,” the headmistress says. “I know,” Manon replies, not sure what else to say. Professor Crochan reaches out and squeezes Manon’s hand. It’s such a motherly gesture that Manon, who has no mother of her own, feels uncomfortable. Like she doesn’t know if she should squeeze back or continue to just sit there. Before she can decide, the headmistress smiles and stands. She offers her ear if Manon ever wants to talk. About anything. And then. before the crone leaves, she says, “By the way, I’ve demoted the Head Boy that the Matron assigned to Slytherin. He has learned too much at her feet. You will take his place. It’s time for some new blood to lead Slytherin.” Manon stands, her mouth agape, her heart racing. “You may say thank you if you’d like,” the headmistress says with a kind smile. “Uhh ... thank you. Ma’am. Headmistress,” Manon sputters, unsure if she is actually grateful. But when she’s left alone, when she thinks about all the things she’d change about Slytherin, she is overcome with hope and excitement. She runs out to find Dorian.
- Dorian is so far behind on his charms homework, not even Yrene’s help will get him through it. Despairing in a hidden corner of the library, he stares blankly at his textbook, not seeing or understanding a single work on the page. His mind is focused on one thing. Or, one person.  At the sound of heavy footfalls, he leans into the aisle to see Manon charging towards him. He’s hesitant, unable to tell if she’s happy or angry. It could go either way. A person might be glad that their abuser was just fired, or they might be upset that someone meddled at all. Just as she reaches him, he stands and holds out his hands in a placating gesture. “I sent an owl to the Education Minister. She is friends with my mother and I thought maybe it would help.” He cringes a little, waiting for her reaction. Manon says nothing, just throws herself against him in a hug that almost sends him toppling backwards. “You’re not upset with me?” he asks, laughing. “Never,” she says. “You used your connections to save me. To save all of us. She was terrible to more people than just me.” They return to their embrace, and he realizes there are others gathering around, watching them. He starts to pull away but she doesn’t let him. “I don’t care anymore,” she says, her breath hot and alive against his skin. “Let them watch. I’ll throw them in detention if they give us any trouble.” Dorian pulls back, an eyebrow raised. “I’m Head Girl of Slytherin now.” She says it just loud enough for the gawkers to hear and immediately disperse. He laughs and promises not to step out of line around her. She makes him take it back. Later, as they separate to head to their respective common rooms, Manon frowns. “I wish I could do this for you. Get your dad off your back somehow.” That she would offer means the world to him, giving him some much needed strength. “Maybe when you become famous you can tell him off for me.” Her nose wrinkles slightly. “And what will I do to become famous?” He kisses the wrinkles. “Replace brooms with dragons in quidditch.” Manon’s eyes lit up, widening first in disbelief and then as she is flooded with ideas. “First, let’s survive Hogwarts,” he says. “We still have to meet each other’s friends. Officially, I mean.” Her brightness fades a little, but she is still smiling as she heads down the stairs to Slytherin, and he climbs up to Gryffindor.

Then why don’t we make it official?
Rowaelin Hogwarts au oneshot
Tumblr media
Part 2 of this, kinda- you can read one without reading the other
Aelin hated the history of magic lessons and everything that came with it, which was why she sat at the Ravenclaw table in the great hall at breakfast, beseeching Dorian to do her homework for her.
“No, I’ve got my own homework to do and I need to practice with the team for our upcoming game.” What didn’t add was that the Gryffindor quidditch team no longer needed to practice so much anymore since they got knocked out this season so she will have more time on her hands but Dorian wouldn't say it, he was too diplomatic for that. She wished that he had said it so she could refute his claim and say that they were actually going to practice soon to get better in the rain. Despite that, the loss still stung.
Her head rested on a hand, her elbow on the table and a pout on her face. A hum resounded out of her throat, “so, who is this girl you’ve been pining over.”
“Oh, so I refuse to do your homework so instead you pester me, hoping that I’ll change my mind to get you to stop?” He raised an eyebrow and she couldn’t tell whether the smirk playing around his mouth was from embarrassment or amusement.
“I was just making conversation,” she said defensively, ”but if you wanted to change your mind I wouldn’t turn you away.”
Dorian’s sapphire eyes rolled fondly; as they did so often when Aelin was around.
“I’ll just keep hounding you.”
Nehemia came and sat with them, her blue robes matching Dorian’s. She politely asked what they were talking about and when Aelin told her of the subject matter, her eyes averted to the toast in front of her.
Suddenly suspicious, Aelin’s brows knitted together with her eyes bouncing back and forth between her two friends, both of which were acting shifty.
“I won’t interfere if you do this assignment for me.”
Dorian faced her fully and assessed her raised eyebrows and smug features before asking, “how can you interfere if you don’t even know what you're interfering in?”
In answer, she pointed her gaze towards Nehemia and then back to Dorian.
A laugh escaped her friend sitting diagonally across from her, Nehemia’s braids fell behind her shoulders as her head tilted backwards.
“I have to go, I’m tutoring a third year struggling with ancient runes.” Nehemia sent an amused look their way and Aelin forgot to say bye because her mind was preoccupied with trying to organise and make sense of everything.
Dorian seemed inclined to either ignore her or leave himself even though he knew she’d follow after him. She grabbed his sleeve just in case and leaned in so no-one else could listen in.
Of course that was when Rowan walked through the doors and his gaze immediately landed on them, assessing their proximity. In response she gave him a sultry glance and rolled her eyes cheekily at the proprietorial look that he was failing at hiding.
“So it's not Nehemia, then who is it?”
“I might as well do your essay while I'm doing mine, I'm assuming it's the same one.” A blush crept its way onto his cheeks.
“I won’t say anything, I swear.”
He mumbled something. “What? I didn't catch that.”
“Sorscha.”
A pause followed by Aelin’s barrage of questions assaulted Dorian. The final question she asked was, “why didn’t you tell me?”
“I know that you mean well, but if you’d have known so would the rest of the school.”
“Are you trying to say that I can’t keep anything quiet.”
Her thoughts drifted to the broody Slytherin sitting at his house table, inconspicuously watching them from the corner of his eye. She had kept their relationship a secret; sure, she had told Ansel but that didn’t really count.
After a few minutes of her draining every piece of information from Dorian, Aedion called her from where he sat at the Gryffindor table because they were late for practice.
As she walked towards the doors of the great hall, she could see Rowan’s face as he casually conversed with Lorcan beside him. Oh, he was definitely jealous.
Aelin had grumbled the whole way to the quidditch pitch and Aedion was inclined to agree but insisted that the team captain, Ilias, was right in having the team practice in the rain and wind. When Aelin tried to convince him that the conditions were too dangerous, he just said that Quidditch matches wouldn’t be postponed so they needed to learn how to manage. He was a man of few words but the words that he did say were always true.
They were in the air a matter of minutes after getting changed into their Quidditch gear. They flew around, threw some balls, dodged some bludgers and aimed for the golden rings at the end of the pitch: all the usual things really.
Despite the atrocious weather which had only gotten worse while they practiced, AelIn got more and more enthused in the game just as she did with every quidditch match, apart from the ones that had Rowan there distracting her. She was reminded of all the times she and Aedion had played together in a small field with a group of friends as she watched him send a bludger in the direction opposite to her.
She wasn’t used to playing this weather. Sure, Terrasen’s weather wasn’t the best and that’s where her and Aedion used to play but her parents and aunt would always ban them from leaving their sight because they knew that they would get on their brooms as soon as they turned their backs.
Something hit her side just as she lunged for the quaffle Ansel had thrown her. Mikhail had hit a bludger and the force had sent him swerving into Aelin’s side. She tried to regain her control of her broom but it was slippery in the rain.
The next thing she knew, she had toppled off her broom completely and looked up to see Mikhail trying to catch her, his hand grazing her arm.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Miss Galathinius, can you hear me?” Madam Hafiza was leaning over her, attempting to rouse her from the half-conscious state she was in.
The only response she could give was the full opening of her eyes and a groan that came out louder than she intended.
The matron, Hafiza, had trained in the legendary medical school, the Torre Sesme and gave up a job teaching there to come and practice at Hogwarts instead.
After doing a few tests, madam Hafizaexplains that she only sustained a few broken bones and a mild concussion because of the height she fell from. It wasn’t very high because Ilias had taken some of the team’s concerns into consideration and told everyone to purposefully fly low and only to exceed the limit he set to score goals. She thanked the gods that it wasn’t a higher drop because her injuries would have been a lot worse.
“Would you like your friends to come in, they’re waiting outside.”
“Uhh, yeah, let them in.” She was still groggy because of the concussion.
The next thing she knew, Aedion came barrelling through s though he had been waiting expectantly right in front of he door the whole time.
“Are you okay?” Madam Hafiza recounted all of her injuries which Aelin was glad for because her head pounded even more when she spoke.
He let out a sigh of relief and the others came trailing in after him, slightly less alarmed. Mikhail tried to apologise for knocking her off her broom, Ilias tried to apologise for insisting that they practice in weather so dangerous and everyone practically tried to apologise for not catching her but Aelin shut them all down. It wasn’t anyone’s fault. She should have been more aware of her surroundings; it was always the one thing she could be faulted for.
A while later, some of the others had left but Ansel, Aedion, and Nesryn remained chatting with her. She’d have to stay overnight so madam Hafiza could monitor her bones’ progress with righting themselves with the help of the tonic she had to take. She also supposed that another reason she had to stay was because the tonic tasted so nasty that she wouldn’t have taken it if she didn’t have the matron watching over her every time.
“I think we should probably go now, you’ve got a lesson haven’t you Aedion,” he tried to protest but Ansel carried on, ”and Aelin needs to rest.”
Again, Aedion tried to protest but Ansel dragged his hulking frame towards the exit, only letting him return to give Aelin a hug before he left. The others said goodbye and Aelin was left wondering why she had wanted everyone to go so abruptly.
She found out why though when she looked towards the second door, the one furthest away from her bed. Rowan was standing there, a bunch of flowers in hand.
She should have already known that half the school already knew about her accident but despite the thought making her want to groan, couldn’t hold in her huge grin at the sight of Rowan standing there, waiting so he could see her, check if she’s alright. Aches and pains forgotten, Aelin laughed inwardly to not alert the others who were almost at the door. She wondered how long he had been standing there because if he had come in, it would have aroused suspicion and a constant glare from Aedion, maybe even more than a glare.
“How are you?” Concern graced his features and his tone.
She rattled off her list of injuries and added a, “but i’m fine” on the end at his still worried face.
He let out a breath of both relief and frustration. “I hate having to hide that we love each other.”
“You love me.” It must have slipped out due to his mixed emotions and she delivered her response as both a question and a statement, with a hint of teasing yet seriousness at the same time.
Undiluted panic crossed Rowan’s face, something that he would never let anyone else see. “Yeah, I do.” Then almost as an afterthought he said, “and I know that you love me too so don’t bother trying to tease me.”
Unbridled joy overtook her features; her eyes crinkled and mouth lifted so much that her cheeks ached. “Then why don't we make it official.”
His expression now mirrored hers. “It was your idea to keep it a secret in the first place, you should make the decision. Though I would like to be able to scare off any other guys who get too friendly.”
Aelin rolled her eyes but it was half-hearted because she was just too happy to feel anything else. She knew he was jealous of her and Dorian in the great hall.
Aedion was going to have a tantrum for a couple of days, maybe even a couple of weeks. Not to mention, the rest of the quidditch team; they see him as a rival, someone to keep far away from the inner workings of their team. But they’d get over it eventually and at the end of the day, Rowan and herself could be open about their relationship so it was worth it. And she believes that she was entitled to more than a few PDAs(public displays of affection) after all this time, especially in front of Rowan’s friend Lorcan who already hates her.
“Then yes, I think it’s time, but you have to leave Dorian alone.”
At this, Rowan rolled his eyes but agreed while leaning down and placing a soft kiss on her lips.

hey i cant seem to get onto the triwizard tournament elorcan prologue can you please send it to me and could you please continue it from what i read it acc amazing x
SO, luckily I still had this on my computer, but I did edit it before responding to this because the punctuation was screwed. I actually never wrote a second part but I still could once I’m on holidays (In 2 weeks.)
“The Hogwarts champion … Lorcan Salvaterre.” Elide’s heart stopped as his name was called. As he stood among the cheering Slytherin house. As he glided easily up the dais to shake hands with Professor Ashryver, as he smiled with the dangerous gaze of a predator. But her boyfriends eyes soften when they meet hers, as they always have. He nods twice at her, a signal, and then walks to the back room awaiting him. She nods back, I understand.
“Our three champions have been chosen. The first task will be in a months time and you will be given more information closer to the date. Hopefully, this will be a good year filled with friendship and healthy competition. Goodnight everyone.” Professor Ashryver steps towards the side room the champions disappeared into, the Beauxbatons headmistress and Durmstrang headmaster following him with skips in their step.
“Bets on when Salvaterre croaks,” a smug voice snaps Elide out of her reverie and she turns to Aelin and Dorian, glaring at them. They both shrug, making her stand in rage.
“That’s not funny, nor will it ever be. Merlin, that’s sick. To say someone’s going to die right in front of their girlfriend,-“ Aelin goes to say something but Elide puts her hand up to stop Aelin, “seriously cruel and unnecessary, guys. He’s my boyfriend and he has been for almost 2 years so you could try to be nicer. He could die.” And suddenly the fight leaves her and she sags on the seat. “He could die.”
“El-“
“Excuse me,” she says, quickly jumping off the seat and hurrying towards the door, trying to hide her tears.
She all but runs up the stairs until she reaches the door to the room of requirement. The door was how it normally looked to her, a smooth marble door with a gold handle, tall and wide enough that her boyfriend could get in as well. It was their space, where Elide didn’t have overprotective friends and family and where Lorcan could relax from accusations of his horribleness. It was… safe. It had some good memories.
She swiftly opened the door and went inside, collapsing on to one of the armchairs and letting her head drop into her hands. Elide didn’t take in the bed in the corner, or the fireplace glowing happily, or the cookies on the coffee table. She sobbed softly into her hands, her shoulders shaking. Elide was worried and scared. She definitely wasn’t mad, she had gone with Lorcan to put his name in the goblet, and she knew that physically and mentally, her boyfriend was one of the strongest person people she knew. And she had been okay with it then. But now, it was a reality. Lorcan could get hurt or killed and Elide wasn’t okay with that.
She didn’t even notice anyone else enter the room until her boyfriend’s strong arms were wrapped around her back and his voice was whispering in her ear. She swayed into his chest and tried to calm herself down, letting a couple more sobs slip past her lips.
“Breathe, El, breathe” Lorcan’s voice soothed, rubbing her arm. She took his advice and breathed through her nose and out her mouth. Soon, her crying stopped but still Lorcan hugged her close. After a few moments, her crying stopped all together but she still didn’t move, not wanting to leave Lorcan’s embrace.
“You could die,” a thought enters her mind and she sits up quickly. “Please tell me you didn’t enter just to die,” he moves and crouches in front of her, holding her hands and rubbing circles into them with his thumbs. He softly kisses her.
“No, I didn’t enter to die. I entered because if I can do this, win, then I’m setting us up for a very good future,” he smiles in the way he only does for her. Lorcan wipes the last of the tears from her face as she smiles widely.
“Us?”
“Us. Unless you want to break up with me, then I’ll live with my million galleons by my self. I’m not going to die, trust me. I’m strong,” he does a ridiculous flexing motion that makes Elide start to laugh. And laugh. And laugh. She slides off the couch and wraps her arms around her boyfriends neck, softly nudging his nose with hers. She tilts her head slightly and leans in to kiss him slowly.
“I know you can win. And it will definitely be us,” he smiles at that and kisses her, one of his hands, cupping her cheek, the other finding purchase in her dark hair as her hands find his neck and pull him closer.
“I… love… you… you know… that right?” Lorcan whispers between kisses, dragging her closer to him and moving his hands to hold her hips. Elide lets her mouth answer, kissing him a little bit rougher and moving her hands to his chest, softly tugging his green and silver tie loose and lifting it over his head.
“What are you trying to do, my love?” Lorcan whispers, biting her ear softly.
“You,” he growls softly in appreciation at her words. Lorcan kisses a trail down her neck, pulling her blue and bronze tie over her head, popping the buttons on her school shirt and pushing it off her shoulders, revealing her chest and stomach. Elide pushed his shirt off and traced the scars she had traced many times before. The scars that littered his chest and back from countless fights and curses. He eased his hands down and gripped her thighs, pulling her legs around his waist. She felt him shift and stand up, walking her over and laying her on the bed, hovering over the top of her, still not ceasing his ministrations on her neck.
Elide lets out breathless higher pitched moans, sounds that go straight to Lorcan’s cock. Elide hands find Lorcan’s belt and hastily unfasten it, pushing his trousers down and pulling them off with her feet. One of Lorcan’s hands moves up and down her thighs under her skirt. Elide pulls his mouth back to hers.
“Lorcan,” she whispers, one of her hands holding on to his shoulder, the other gripping the sheets underneath her. She bucked her hips up as he slid her skirt down and off her legs. He detaches his mouth from hers and moves down, nipping and sucking at her collarbone as his deft hands unclasp her bra. Lorcan moves his mouth to bite her breasts, covering every inch of skin with hot mouthed kisses.
Elide moves her hips against his, creating a friction that had a deep sound rumbling from her boyfriend as he looks up at her.
“You’re cruel, you know that right?”
“And you’re a tease. Hurry up.” Elide whispers, softly twirling a lock of his hair around her finger as he rests his head on her chest.
“So impatient.”
“Lorcan” Elide whined softly, pushing her hips up to his again.
“Stop doing that, El.” She smirks, biting her lip gently in the way she knows drives him mad.
“Make me.”
Lorcan growled at the challenge in her voice and makes quick work of both their underwear, kissing his girlfriend fiercely. He slowly traces his hand down to where she wants him and presses his fingers into her soaking heat, making her groan into his mouth, one hand tugging almost painfully at his hair, the other digging nails into his back.
Lorcan slowly lowers himself closer to her, removing his fingers. He brushes against her, sending a teasing smirk at her and she growls. Lorcan takes the warning. He slowly eases himself into her opening, carefully watching Elide’s face. Her head was thrown back, her mouth falling back into a perfect ‘O’ shape, her eyes closed.
Once he’s fully seated inside her, he starts to rock his hips against hers, eliciting a groan. He pulls himself out of her and thrusts back in, again and again, at the same pace as she writhes underneath him. Her nails dig into his shoulder blades as he moves harder and faster.
“You’re so beautiful Elide. I love you,” Lorcan whispered in her ear as she came around him, his name a prayer on her lips and her nails drawing blood. He follows quickly behind her, moaning loudly into her shoulder as Elide stroked his hair lovingly.
“I love you more” Elide whispers back, kissing him softly before he rolls off Elide to lay beside her.
“We staying here tonight?”
“As we do most nights we end up having sex. Thank you. For wanting a future for us.”
“Thank you for making me want to have a future with someone,” he pulls her to his side, running his fingers up her side in feather-soft motions. Elide sighs contently and wiggles closer to him, fitting herself in the crook of his arm and resting her head on his chest. Her breathing starts to even out when she moves up and lays a solitary kiss on his cheek before lying down again.
“Goodnight Lorcan,” he kisses her head and tightens his arm around her slightly.
“Goodnight El.”

TOG x ACOTAR crossover - Hogwarts au
Next part
If Aelin Galathynius wasn’t already dreadfully excited at the thought of attending Hogwarts, she definitely became so the minute she ran through the 9 3/4 barrier. Her first steps onto the platform felt like she was walking on clouds instead of the hard cement. Rhoe and Evalin, Aelin’s flustered parents, could hardly keep up with the young eleven-year-old as she weaved through the crowd - somehow maneuvering around people even with a trolley stuffed with trunks being pushed in front of her. People practically jumped out of the way as she passed, pulling children close to save them from wheels rolling over little feet.
The Galathynius’ muttered quick apologies to disgruntled parents as they rushed to catch up to their little witchling. Unfortunately, the witch and her muggle husband were too late, which they realized as soon as they saw the overturned cart in the middle of a ten foot clearing of people. Their daughter stood with her hands on her hips - a stance she was getting too good at assuming - and bickering with a white-haired young wizard who was picking himself up from the ground.
“You’re crazy!” He exclaimed, brushing off his robes - generic black, so he must be a first year without a house yet.
Aelin scoffed, gesturing towards her upset cart with a incredibly expectant expression. “Excuse me, you are the one who ran in front of my trolley like a dementor is on your heels. The least you could do is help me put it back together again.”
The sneer that overtook the boy’s face does nothing more than send Aelin’s eyes rolling. “Well, princess, I believe you are the one who was hurtling around with reckless abandon. It surely is not my fault your cart ran over me!”
“Oh, no!” Aelin cooed, her voice dripping with sarcasm. “Did I accidentally hurt the itty bitty baby?” She mocked.
Rhoe and Evalin finally reach their daughter, her mother barely able to contain the squirming puppy in her arms. Rhoe set a hand on Aelin’s shoulder, a firm order to stand down, as the event had begun to gather a crowd. Evalin expertly slipped the small dog into the young witch’s arms, prohibiting the girl from starting any real fight.
The wizard scowled once more, tugged on the lapels of his robe self-righteously, and stalked away towards the quickly filling up train. Aelin’s parents made quick work of reassembling their daughter’s cart, and quickly pushed her and the dog towards the luggage and animal cars. Once they had her nicely packed away, they each kissed her on the cheek.
“Please try not to get into too many fights, Fireheart,” Her mother pleaded, her eyes shining with worry for her daughter’s safety.
Rhoe’s eyes however, were shining with mischief. “At least not right away.” Aelin grinned up at her father, hugged both her parents, and made an empty promise to play nice. Her mother just shook her head.
Suddenly, three long pulls from the horn alerted the family that the train was about to leave. Aelin was pushed hurriedly towards the door, which shut promptly behind her. Leaning out the window, she waved to her parents as the Hogwarts Express began to slowly move. She waited until Rhoe and Evalin were out of sight before turning to seek out a compartment, a late decision that she soon comes to regret.
...
Rhysand, following his best friends down the small aisle along the compartments, glanced in every window they passed. Embarrassingly, he had to tip-toe just a little bit to get a clear view of each cabin, while Azriel and Cassian did not. The dark, wild hair his mother had been attempting to tame this morning continued to fall annoyingly into his eyes whenever the train shook a bit - which was all the time.
Cassian and Azriel sped ahead of him on their long legs - curse early growth spurts - and Rhys almost had to jog a bit to catch up. It was because of this that the young boy almost missed her.
She was sitting alone in a compartment, a drawing pad settled on her lap and a pencil held firmly in her small right hand. Her brows were furrowed as she concentrated on her sketch while also trying to keep her hand steady in the ever moving train.
Rhysand ran past her compartment and immediately skidded to a halt the second his mind registered what he saw. Even at age eleven, Rhys knew what a pretty girl looks like, and this witch is beautiful. Cassian and Azriel stopped at the end of the car, realizing that their brother was no longer with them.
All of the young wizard’s attention, however, was now trained on the door of the compartment, and his thoughts on the girl behind it. He waved off his friends. “I’ll meet you guys later!” He called. Azriel looked at Cassian, who shrugged and opened the door to move onto the next train car.
Quickly, Rhysand pushed his hair back, trying to at least look acceptable in front of a pretty girl. His palms were sweating and he shook out his arms, trying to gain the nerve to slide open the door. Taking a deep breath, Rhys pulled back his shoulders, straightening himself to his tallest height - which is really not very tall - and pulled the door ajar.
The witch looked up from her notepad, a look of bewilderment gracing her features for just a moment before a polite smile overtook them. “Hello, can I help you?”
Rhys panicked. He truly did not think he would get this far. Clearing his throat, he attempted to recover. “I, uh, I’m Rhysand,” He blurted, thrusting out a hand for her to shake.
The girl’s smile remained, her hand slipping into his own, only a little bit smaller. “I’m Feyre, it’s nice to meet you, Rhysand.”
“Please call me Rhys,” The boy suddenly found himself saying, quite loudly if the way Feyre reacted is any indication. He drew his hand away. “Sorry, uh, there are no other open compartments... do you mind if I sit with you?” He wondered sheepishly, as he actually wasn’t sure if all the cabins were taken yet. Looking around the tiny room, Rhys realized for the first time that she is alone. He’s suddenly curious as to why there is no one else sitting with her, at the same time that he’s very glad that he was the one that came to her rescue.
Feyre shrugged, gesturing to the bench across from her. “Be my guest.”
He tried not to look too eager, he really did, but the chance to sit in the same cabin with a pretty girl - alone - on the first day? There was no hiding his excitement. Feyre giggled a little at his antics, making Rhys’ ears turn pink. “So... what house do you think you’ll be in?”
...
Rowan grumbled certain profanities - his new favorite words after he learned them from Lorcan a couple months ago - as he trudged down the train aisle, looking for a place to sit. His ankle stung from the trolley wheel rolling over it, not that he’d ever let the little blonde witchling with the striking blue eyes know about it.
Unfortunately, it seemed that all cabins were full, or full of people he dreadfully did not want to associate with. When he stumbled upon a window that led to a room occupied only by two people, seemingly his age, Rowan muttered under his breath. “Better than nothing, I suppose.”
He slid open the door, startling the drawing girl and the boy who had been trying to pretend he wasn’t blatantly staring at her. The girl smiled brightly, setting her pencil down with a small wave. Rowan immediately liked her much better than the witch from the platform. “Hello, I’m Feyre.” She greeted.
“Rowan,” He grunted back, then gestured to the empty seat next to her. “Mind if I sit?”
“Not at all,” Feyre replied, picking up some of her supplies that had been resting on the bench and stuffing them into her bag. “This is Rhys.” She gestured to the small boy on the seat across from them, who was now looking very unfriendly towards Rowan.
Rowan tilted his chin in greeting, silently informing his fellow wizard that he had no intention of making a move on the girl he just met five seconds ago, as Rhys seems to be convinced. Rowan can obviously tell that there is some kind of backstory here, and he desperately does not want to get in the middle of it. He just wanted a place to sit.
As Feyre went back to drawing, and Rhys studied his nails like a nervous nancy, Rowan resorted to staring out the window, watching as the scenery flew by. He is so enraptured by the passing forest, that it takes him a moment to realize that someone new has entered the compartment. However, he recognizes her voice almost instantly.
“Oh thank the gods, I found an available place. It is rather impossible, this train is so crowded.” The blonde plopped herself down next to Rhys, smiling grandly at the people around her. “You don’t mind, do you? I’ve been searching for a place to sit for half an hour already.” Feyre has opened her mouth to respond when the girl’s eyes meet Rowan’s. Immediately, they narrow. “You.” She accuses.
Rowan rolled his eyes. “Oh shut up, princess, you ran into me.” He couldn’t help the smirk when she gasps indignantly.
“Do we really need to have this conversation again?” She exclaimed, throwing her hands in the air far more dramatically than necessary. When Rowan proceeds to ignore her, she scoffed. “Typical,” Turning to Rhys, she added, “I sure hope you have better manners than he does.”
Rhys stuttered a few times, eyes flickering between the two witches. After a few seconds, finally he straightened, his nervous mask slipping and a boyish smirk curving his lips. “Of course I do.” The crack in his voice ruined the intended effect however.
For the rest of the ride, Rowan planned to ignore his companions, particularly a certain blonde-haired one. His carefully crafted plan is ruined however, when Feyre addresses him. “Rowan, what are you looking forward to most at Hogwarts?”
Slightly taken aback by the question, Rowan displayed a noncommittal shrug. “My cousin, Lorcan, says that the Transfiguration teacher is really great, I’m looking forward to learning from her.”
That catches the other girl’s attention, Rowan hadn’t caught her name before, not that he cared much. “You mean Mistress Maeve?” At the slight incline of his head, the girl just shook her head slightly, leaning against the back of the bench with a thoughtful look on her face. Against his better judgement, Rowan found himself wondering what had caused such an adverse reaction.
Feyre took the shift in atmosphere in stride, continuing the conversation easily. Rowan decided that he could very easily be friends with her, if given the chance. He didn’t usually make a habit of being friends with girls, cooties and all, but her smile was contagious, and the grumpy young wizard soon found himself chuckling a bit at her jokes.
Rhys quickly loosened up, becoming more comfortable around the two little girls who already had such imposing and strong personalities. When the treats trolley came around, the blonde girl, who Rowan had now learned was named Aelin, jumped out of her seat in excitement.
“Can I have two, no, three chocolate frogs please?” She had asked, already jittery without the sugar in her stomach. The witch eagerly ripped open one of the packages, ignoring the card inside and bit into the treat. It was then that she finally noticed Rowan’s disgusted expression. Her mouth still wrapped around a portion of the frog - which had stopped moving the second it had touched her lips - Aelin’s voice came out muffled. “What’s you’re problem? Do you not like chocolate or something?”
Now it was Feyre’s turn to look at him, the same level of disbelief placed on her face. Rowan shifted uncomfortably before remembering that he shouldn’t be intimidated by two girls. Immediately, he straightened. “Not particularly, no. It rots your teeth.”
Feyre gasped, and Rhys chuckled under his breath, shaking his head slightly. Aelin’s eyes narrowed, sizing him up. Rowan had to work extra hard not to squirm under her scrutinizing gaze. After a few more seconds, and the finishing of Aelin’s first frog, the girl finally spoke. “Huh. Well, that means more for me, I guess... Do you want the collector’s cards?”
Thoroughly taken aback, Rowan could only stare as she opened the next package with a little more delicacy, pulled out the card without letting the wily frog loose, and grabbed the other from the previous box. He watched her movements silently until her hand was outstretched towards him, offering the tokens. “Consider it my apology-” she gritted out the word like she hated to say it, “-for running you over at the platform. Truce?”
After taking the cards from her small, delicate fingers, Rowan slipped his empty hand into her own, shaking it resolutely. “Sure, princess. Truce.”
She scowled at the nickname, but smiled none the less, a faint girlish blush overtaking her cheeks as she slid her hand away from his. Just as she was about to open her second chocolate frog, Rhys in the middle of handing over one of his pumpkin pasties to Feyre, another young wizard, decked in Gryffindor robes, appeared in the window. When he saw Aelin, he positively lit up, pushing open the door and scooping her up in a large hug.
Rowan exchanged glances with his other cabin-mates as Aelin squealed, hugging the second year boy right back again. “I couldn’t find you anywhere, Aelin! I was so worried.” The boy exclaimed when he has set the witch down again. Briefly, he looked around the cabin and noticed her company. “Interesting friends you got here, Aelin.”
“Shh, Aedion, be nice!” She complained. Her cheeks were still red but Rowan couldn’t tell if she was embarrassed by their earlier interaction or the new male. “Rhys, Feyre, Rowan, this is my cousin, Aedion. He’s a second year, and in Gryffindor!”
Rowan felt like he just experienced whiplash. This squealing girl is nothing like the calculating one he was just bickering with moments ago. It seems the witch has a side of herself she reserves just for her family. Or perhaps the devious side is reserved just for him. Whatever the case, Rowan can’t tell which side he finds more annoying...
...
Just as Feyre was starting to talk to Aedion about what he likes about Gryffindor, another older boy appeared in the compartment doorway, a broad smile plastered on his face. Conversation stopped in the tiny room, as all attention turns towards the wizard, Hufflepuff robes covering his slightly intimidating frame. Though he couldn’t be much older than Feyre and her new friends, the male must have already gotten his growth spurt, and uses it to his advantage.
“Rhysand! It’s so good to see you!” He exclaimed, bounding into the now crowded compartment. Feyre watched as Aedion’s eyes narrowed at the male. She took a bite of her pumpkin pasty.
“Tamlin, it’s been a while,” Aedion spoke up before Rhys could respond. Tamlin ignored Aelin’s cousin, instead sliding onto the seat between Rhysand and Aelin and wrapping his arms around their shoulders conspiratorially. Aedion muttered something under his breath and then patted Aelin’s knee. “I’ll see you later, Aelin. Don’t get into trouble.”
The girl just smirked up at the wizard, and watched as he left before turning to the boy now sitting next to her. Feyre threw a confused glance towards Rowan, who was observing the interaction with minimal interest.
Finally, Rhysand got around to talking, shrugging Tamlin’s arm off his shoulders. “Nice to see you too, Tamlin. How are you doing?” It was with this sentence that Tamlin’s eyes found Feyre’s, just as she shoved the last of her pasty into her mouth.
She found herself blushing under his interested gaze, and didn’t know what to do with her sticky hands. Smiling shyly, Feyre tucked a piece of stray hair behind her ear. “Hey, I’m Tamlin, Hufflepuff, second year.” He greeted, offering his hand to shake before thinking better of it, seeing her pumpkin-y fingers.
“I’m Aelin, that’s Feyre, and that grump over there in Rowan. Nice to meet you, Tamlin.” Aelin quipped, drawing Tamlin’s attention away from Feyre. The girl let out a breath she didn’t know she had been holding, and looked over just in time to see Rhys roll his eyes. Confusion filled Feyre’s mind. That is the second person who had reacted negatively towards the new guy. But why? He seemed like a nice wizard.
He was also the second person who had stopped by the cabin to see a friend. If someone was thoughtful enough to do that, they were already in Feyre’s good books, as even her two sisters neglected to visit. In fact, they had left her alone to fend for herself the moment they had stepped through the barrier onto the platform. The relief that had coursed through the young witch when Rhysand had asked to sit with her had been overwhelming. And then Rowan and Aelin had joined and it had become a party. Tamlin’s entrance was just as welcome as far as Feyre was concerned.
Rowan had gone back to looking out the window, a bored expression on his face. Rhysand was eating his remaining pumpkin pasty, sulking as Tamlin carried an easy conversation with Aelin. His green eyes, however, continuously flickered towards Feyre. She can’t help the blush that lights her cheeks, but for the life of her, she can’t find a segue into the conversation. So, instead of feeling awkward, Feyre turned her attention to the white-haired boy next to her.
“Hey, Rowan,” The wizard broke from his blank staring out the window and blinked a few times, seeming to finally focus on what he was looking at. Before Feyre can ask her question, Rowans pointed toward something in the distance.
“Wait, isn’t that the castle?” He questioned, drawing Aelin’s attention from Tamlin as the four of them crowded around the window. From the corner of her eye, Feyre saw Tamlin huff, before standing and peering over all of them.
“There she is, Hogwarts school for Wizards and Witchlings.” Tamlin chuckled to himself, backing up until he hovered in the doorway once more. “I should head back to my friends,” His gaze drifted to Rhysand, seeming to remember why he had visited in the first place. “Nice catching up with you, Rhys.” His eyes averted to the two witches, still standing by the window. Aelin was barely paying attention to him anymore. “Girls,” He said in parting with a slight nod, not even glancing towards Rowan before strutting out of sight.
“What a weirdo,” Aelin muttered, making both Rhysand and Rowan laugh.
Feyre simply shrugged, pulling her robes out of her bag. “I thought he was nice.” She tried, heading toward the door. Her friends were already decked in their Hogwarts attire. “I’m gonna go change, now that we’re getting so close to the castle.”
Rhysand was the only one that answered, nodding slightly while they continued to gawk at the enormous building coming closer and closer. It was at this moment, seeing three eleven-year-olds, staring intently out the window, a gorgeous castle looming in front of them, that Feyre wished she had her camera. It would have made a wonderful picture. Perhaps one day she would paint it instead.
...
Four boats, each loaded with four first years, magically floated across the lake. Aelin almost tipped over the watercraft in her excitement to reach her new school - her new home - for the next seven years. Rowan had had to grab her by the waist before she fell into the inky depths. When she had been firmly seated again, Feyre grabbed her hand, squeezing it conspiratorially. Aelin squeezed it back, figuring that it was safer way to show her excitement.
Somehow, Rowan, Rhys, Feyre and her had been shuffled onto the same boat, though Aelin wasn’t necessarily complaining. It wasn’t like she knew a ton of other first years. In fact, other than Elide, Aelin knew none of her fellow classmates. Perhaps it was good that she was stuck on a wobbly rowboat with people she had at least known for a couple hours.
She wasn’t sure about her companions however. From what she’d gathered since they exited the train, Rhys had plenty of friends in their year, seeming quite popular actually. Rowan had simply gone with the crowd, not picking out anyone in particular to talk to, and Feyre had practically clung to Aelin in fear of losing her in the mass of people streaming for the carriages. A huge man with stark white hair that contrasted drastically with his incredibly dark skin had herded all the first years towards the boats. Before they took off, he had introduced himself as Varian, head of Gryffindor House and Care of Magical Creatures professor.
Now, nearing the shore on the other side of the mystical lake, Aelin stood up a bit in anticipation, This time, it was Rhysand who set his hands on her shoulders and sat her back down. “Bloody hell, Aelin, if you tip us...” He chuckled, sharing a glance with Rowan who was rolling his eyes.
They couldn’t do anything to stop the young witch however when the boat docked and she bolted off. Feyre quickly caught up to her, a wide smile stretching her face. “We’re here,” Aelin’s new friend whispered in awe. For a moment, both girls stared up at the castle. In the darkness, it’s windows were all lit up, casting a kind of golden light around the surrounding grounds. It truly felt magical.
“C’mon!” Aelin finally exclaimed, grasping Feyre’s hand in her own and tugging her towards the front of the group. They walked beside two other blonde girls, who quickly introduced themselves as Lysandra and Mor.
“Can you guys even believe it?” Mor questioned quietly as they made their way up the grand staircase.
Lysandra shook her head. “I’m so nervous my hair is changing color.” The girl muttered, looking forlornly at her golden locks.
Feyre reeled back slightly as the witch’s hair suddenly turned brunette. “You’re a metamorphmagus!” Aelin squealed, lightly touching the tips of the hair now darkening to a deep brown.
Lysandra was about to respond when a woman appeared at the top of the steps, seemingly from nowhere. Though short, her piercing gray eyes and severe bob made her look like a witch that surely should not be messed with. She seemed to meet each and every one of their gazes at the same time. “Thank you, Varian.” She murmured to the professor as he walked past.
“No problem, Amren. I’ll see you at the feast.” He responded, a smile in his voice. Mor and Aelin shared a glance.
Hello, first years, welcome to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.” Her sharp voice did not hinder Aelin’s growing excitement in the least. “I am Professor Amren, Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher and Head of Slytherin House.” She gestured towards the enormous double doors Professor Varian had just disappeared through. “Behind those doors, your fellow classmates are waiting for you. First, however, will be the sorting ceremony where you will each be sorted into your houses; Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. Once you are sorted, you will sit at your house table and we will begin the feast. So,” A wicked glint in her eye suddenly made Aelin nervous for the first time that day. “Let’s go.”
Leading the way to the great hall, Professor Amren opened the doors, and sixteen first years officially entered the beginning of their journey at Hogwarts.
Masterlist
We will meet all the other Hogwarts students in the next chapter so stay tuned for Dorian and Azriel and Chaol and Helion and more!

Snapril Fools Day:
March 30th: I. Medieval AU
A proof of loyalty
The sun was burning down on the small riding party as they made their way up the hilly road. Once they reached the top the party came to a halt. Severus raised his hand to wipe the sweat from his forehead. They had spent the last three nights riding to the court of the King. After twenty years of civil war, following the death of King James, the realm had been finally reunited under the true heir to the throne, Harry I. of House Potter. The new king had called for all of the Lords of the Realm to come to the capital and bend the knee to him. Therefore Severus had come as the representative of House Prince to do as his King commanded. But as he travelled the Kingsroad he found himself ridden with doubts. What if he was walking right into a trap? After all he and his family hadn’t been loyal to the King from the start. What if the King sought revenge for Severus‘ betrayal of Queen Lily?
"Mylord? Shall we continue?" the words of his squire ripped Severus from his down spiralling.
"Yes. Tell the men we‘re walking on." And with that the troop of riders continued on their journey.
They rode for many hours more until they were met with the sight of Hogwarts castle, seat of the royal family. It was a large build with sevaral large towers and turrets reaching into the sky above. Flags presenting the royal sigil, a golden stag on scarlet ground, were flowing from the tips of each of them. Severus slowed his horse as they rode over the drawbridge that led into one of the castle’s many courtyards. Severus had last been here when he attended the royal academy over twenty years ago.
Inside the castle he was shown to the guest wing where he was able to clean himself up before his audience with the King. He also changed himself from his travelling cloak into a clean, black doublet that sported his family crest, a crowned silver serpent with emerald eyes. The throne room was a large hall with a high, enchanted ceiling that portrayed a starry night sky. The windows were made out of stained glass portraying the sigils of all the noble and ancient families of the realm. At the end of the hall stood a large golden throne on which sat the new King. Before Severus arrived in the capital he had heard many tales of the orphan turned ruler. Most people believed him to be the spitting image of his father save for his green eyes. As Severus looked upon the King he found those tales to be wrong. While Harry had indeed inherited his fathers physical appearance he lacked the air of joy and mischief that had always surrounded his father. Instead he wore a look of seriousness and sadness that made him appear far older than his twenty one years. One of the heralds announced him as he approached the throne and Severus bowed down on the spot.
"Rise." The King said coldly.
Severus rose and took a look at the people present at court. He didn’t recognise any of them. From reports Severus knew that the King‘s godfather, Lord Sirius Black, had been killed in battle as well as Sir Remus Lupin the long time mentor of King Harry. Most other people Severus knew from his time at the Academy were either dead, imprisoned or had fled the country. On the left side of King Harry sat a tall young man with ginger hair and many freckles, on the left sat a young woman with the same ginger hair, Severus assumed these two to be Ronald Weasley and Ginevra Weasley. The former was the Kings Hand and the latter his Betrothed. Another person next to Ginevra Weasley caught Severus‘ eye. There stood a beautiful young woman with brown hair and brown eyes who was dressed in a scarlet dress. The king rose making Severus‘ attention turn back to him.
"Lord Prince I‘m glad you arrived. Please do follow me."
And with that the King led him out the throne room and into the royal gardens. "Lord Snape as already proclaimed I am glad you travelled to court and bend the knee. I have to admit I wasn’t sure wether you’d come. You did betray my mother after all." The King said while he eyed Severus carefully.
"Your Grace I assure you, that you have my loyalty and that of my house and its vassals."
"And I would love to believe your word, Lord Snape, but I cannot put the well being of my people in danger. It is because of that that I have decided to make you prove your loyalty."
"And how exactly am I to do that, your Grace?"
"Simple, Lord Snape. You remember the young woman next to Lady Ginevra? Her name is Lady Hermione Dagworth-Granger and she is one of my most loyal subjects. You will be wed to her."
To be continued?
Okay so I wrote this for the snaprilfoolsday celebrations. To be fair this was largely inspired by my recently reinvoked love for A Song of Ice and Fire. As well as the Snamione fic "Knighthood" by the lovely Ciule on AO3. I'm also pretty sure that I'm gonna make this into a larger fanfic. (I really want to write a tourney scene)

Elide Lochan Headcanon
ToG/ACOTAR Hogwarts AU Elide was given a broom on her 11th birthday by Lorcan, after he noticed her limp causing her trouble when climbing the endless flights of stairs around Hogwarts. Soon she was flying everywhere, beating her friends to all their classes, and becoming the youngest ever Ravenclaw Quidditch captain. It also came in very handy for kissing her 7ft tall boyfriend.

Feeling the blues now Game of Thrones has wrapped as a series? Don’t worry, I’ve got your jonsa recovery fic list right here. This is by no means a comprehensive list of all the great fic out there, just the best of the best I’ve read. If there are any other fic you think should be on this list that I missed reblog and tag them.
Season 8 Fix Its (Pt 1 / Pt 2)
In Love and Death We Don’t Decide [Link] | @pardonmymannerssir | Her siblings arrive like leaves carried on a sudden breeze, alighting upon the placidity of her life and casting wide ripples before being swept away again. Their movements are cyclic, changing and shifting like the seasons, but one thing will never change: Winterfell is home.
Come out of hiding (i'm right here beside you) [Link] | @noqueenbutthequeeninthenorth | After the death of Daenerys Targaryen, Jon Snow goes to live beyond the Wall, while Sansa Stark, the newly-named Queen in the North, marries a Dornish prince. Three years later, when Jon finally gathers the courage to return to Winterfell, he finds that while many things have changed, one hasn't: he's still in love with Sansa.
We are buried in broken dreams [Link] | @snowsinthenorth | Prompt: Sansa and Jon sleeping together before he goes to Dragonstone and when he comes back he finds out she is pregnant. A full on s8 fix-it fic at this point.
Essential Reading
The Cold Inside Our Bones [Link] | @xylodemon | 1,904 | The Wall is no place for a woman, but Jon looks at Sansa's gaunt cheeks and hollow eyes and knows he will not send her away.
At a Funeral [Link] | @justadram | 5,231 | There's something about the funeral that makes Sansa need Jon more than ever. Too bad she threw it all away.
What a Disappointment [Link] | @justadram | 7,836 | Sansa Stark and Jon Targaryen are married and neither of them is pleased about it. Set in a world where Rhaegar lives and Jon was raised in King's Landing as a legitimized bastard.
Tree of Hearts [Link] | @uchihabat | 7,239 | It was a secret, shameful thing. The more he denied it, the more unruly it had become within him: a sleeping dragon, around which he tread carefully. There was nothing good about his half-sister, he told himself, but her beauty. "I am not beautiful anymore," she told him through teeth clenched. "It is ugly inside my heart. I am ruined."
Subject: La Bamba [Link] | @ghost-of-bambi | 16,441 | Trust Margaery Tyrell to turn Sansa Stark's 21st birthday party into an exercise in matchmaking.
More fics under the cut.
Canon Divergent
From the fire we rise [Link] | TheEagleGirl | 2,367 | In another world, perhaps Jon would have been the heir to the throne. In this world, his father died on the trident, his mother in childbirth, no witnesses to their union. In this world, Jon is just the bastard prince, and in this world he still wants more.
Brine on the Tongue [Link] | @orangeflavoryawp | They pause, afternoon light shifting in through her window like an accusation – a slant of clarity against their panting forms. “Then leave.” (He doesn’t.) - Jon and Sansa. What breeds in a house of wolves.
Found In Forbidden Nights [Link] | @alienor-woods | 16,777 | In which Robb Stark still refuses to trade Jaime Lannister for his sisters, but Jon Snow decides if being an oathbreaker means he can tell strategy and politics to fuck off, then it's worth it to take matters into his own hands.
Jon of the Kingsguard [Link] | @tacitwhisky | Jon goes to Kingslanding instead of the Wall, there’s no war, and he becomes a knight of the kingsguard even as Joffrey marries Sansa. As Joffrey’s true colors inevitably show Jon is forced to choose between the vows of a knight and the duty of a Stark.
Southern Wolves [Link] | @tacitwhisky | Jon leaves the Wall to save Sansa from Joffrey. Together they wander the war ravaged Riverlands to try and return home.
Missing Scenes
A Cartography of Vulnerability [Link] | @subjunctivemood | 1,720 | Jon is the only one Sansa trusts to do this for her.
Stitch Up All Your Hopes [Link] | @subjunctivemood | Sansa is sick, but she refuses to rest.
'Cause I know that it's delicate [Part1 / Part2] | @noqueenbutthequeeninthenorth | 4,865 | Set during "Book of the Stranger," immediately after Sansa arrives at the Wall. Jon goes to build the fire back up, and for a few minutes he stays silent, kneeling at the hearth, not looking at her. Finally he clears his throat. “I know,” he begins, “it’s not exactly what you’re used to.”
We can brave the dark [Link] | @thatgirlnevershutsup | 2,320 | When Arya dares Sansa to spend the night in the crypts, it’s Jon who comes to her rescue.
Modern AU - Short
Caught [Link] | @jonnsansa | 4,055 | The first time they sleep together, she's on a break from Joffrey and they're both a little drunk.
Like real people do [Link] | @thatgirlnevershutsup | 2,749 | For the Twelve Days of Christmas project, have an AU Sansa Stark and Jon Snow doing one of those “first kiss” videos.
Beans [Part1 / Part2 / Part3] | @justadram | Jon and Sansa never seem to be on the same page about their relationship.
Never knew I had it all [Link] | TheEagleGirl | 3,130 | Sansa feels bewitched. She’s never noticed Jon before last month. He was Robb’s silent shadow, outshined by Robb himself, or his friends Theon and Dacey.
Trust & Control [Link] | @jonnsansa | 4,444 | Sansa first sees him at the Tyrell fundraising gala. In a sea of drunk, happy people, he is the singular solemn one, standing as still as a statue against the far wall with a glass of untouched champagne in hand. Or: the 50 Shades AU no one asked for.
Baby, It’s Cold Outside [Link] | Tate | It starts at one of Robb's Christmas parties, with Harry Hardyng and a kiss Sansa's avoiding. The two that follow are another story altogether.
Modern AU - Long
Happiness throws a shower of sparks [Link] | @pardonmymannerssir | 14,115 | “I didn’t have anywhere else to go,” Sansa Stark says through a swollen, bloody lip, a pair of sunglasses perched on her nose that don’t completely hide a black eye.
Battlefield [Link] | @uchihabat | 17,264 | “God, we might as well just start a family together,” she blusters, half-joking but of course not joking at all. “We both want kids and we both don’t care how. We’re both single. We’ve known each other all our lives. It’s like a movie.”
I'm Feeling Younger, Every Time That I'm Alone With You [Link] | Tate | 19,872 | Jon's got a crush on Sansa, Sansa's got no idea; it's kind of about a production of "Florian and Jonquil" but it's also just kind of about Jon and Sansa.
Tipsy in a Red Push Up Bra [Link] | @tacitwhisky | 21,320 | Of course the first time Sansa Stark sees Jon Snow in God knows how long, the first time since they lost the house and she’d come to live with her aunt Lysa, it would have to be at a house party where she’s already tipsy on schnapps. And of course it would have to be the one time she’s wearing the ridiculous red push up bra Margaery talked her into buying.
Alternate Universe - Crossover AUs
The Seasons of My Love [Link] | @noqueenbutthequeeninthenorth | 48,275 | Months after Ned and Robb are murdered, Sansa returns to Hogwarts for her final year of school. Far from home, she finds she must rely on family friend Jon Snow, now an Auror, to help keep her family together -- and perhaps to help solve the mystery of her father and brother's deaths.
Put a spell on me [Link] | TheEagleGirl | 2,346 | Somewhere along the line, this became less about release and more about him. Or, a Hogwarts au with lots of making out, saving the world from the Dark Lord, and feelings
Saskatoon Berry Pie [Link] | @justadram | 23,179 | When Sansa loses her family in a rail accident, she makes her way to Saskatchewan in search of sanctuary with her cousin, Jon Snow.
As Long As We're Going Down [Link] | @alienor-woods | 37,096 | Four years after Stannis Baratheon wins the Battle of the Blackwater, Sansa Stark finds herself summoned back to King's Landing to serve as a bridesmaid at Crown Princess Shireen's wedding. When King Stannis tries to marry Sansa off to his illegitimate nephew, Edric, she thinks quick and tells him she's already married-- to her bodyguard, Jon Snow.
Post Series
With the Wild Wolves Around You [Link] | @redbelles | 3,782 | Jon finds Sansa at the Vale after his Targaryen lineage is revealed.
And the Geese Are Headed North Again [Link] | @yekoc | 13,316 | In the dark and honest part of her that Sansa is no longer afraid of, she had thought that Jon would die, and she was no sadder than she was relieved. Seeing him now, she notes the absence of the relief and joy that marked her first glimpse of him at Castle Black. Instead, she feels a too-familiar grief: my brother is gone.
The world is still round, my compass is true; each step is a step back to you [Part1 / Part2] | @dialux | 3,655 | Endgame fic, where Jon goes south and he returns to Sansa only after the Long Night. Trust isn’t easily built after all that’s happened, but Jon and Sansa manage it well enough.

by zarahjoyce
So now here they are in The Three Broomsticks, mugs of Butterbeer and cherry syrup and sodas abound, while Robb gives an exaggerated speech about the excellent qualities of each of the Gryffindor Quidditch Team--
"--led of course by my good friend, described as 'ruggedly handsome' by many girls with appalling taste at best--"
"Robb," Jon calls out, reddening.
Sansa takes a sip of her Butterbeer to keep from giggling.
"--to Jon Snow and his excellent eyesight!" Robb says, raising his mug in a toast.
"To Jon Snow and his excellent eyesight!" the Gryffindors chorus before clinking their own glasses together.
