Sansa was determined to convince her aunt to let Arya debut, which is how she finds herself in her current predicament.
“Who is this secret gentleman who has asked for your hand?” Aunt Lysa asks, and Sansa knows from her tone that she does not believe. (She has every right not to believe, for it is not true.)
And then Sansa does something very, very foolish.
She says a name.
“The Duke of Dragonstone!”
Or, Sansa fakes an engagement so that Arya can debut and marry the man she loves. The only problem? Her fake fiance just so happens to be in the city when he was not supposed to be.

Fic prompt: Jon and Sansa as parent-figures to King Rickon
OHHH ANON!!! thank you for this one!!! it was such a cute prompt & fun to write!!
i hope you like it!
send me prompts
“But I’m not yet tired!”
The stubborn vocals belong to an equally stubborn young man, staring up at her from where he stands just out of her reach, his clear blue eyes defiant in their gaze. A sigh escapes her, but she cannot help but to smile all the same. “Come, at least let me get you ready for bed,” she encourages the boy eager to grow into a man, reminding her quite a lot of someone they’ve long since lost. “Then you may decide if you are tired.” The boy groans, but finally relents, nodding his head as he pushes past her to sink into the empty chair she’s standing beside.
This is not their usual night time routine- he is a boy of the age where it is certainly not seemly to be cared for by a woman and he’s a crowned King no less, making him even less eager these days to be mothered by his sister. But, sometimes, even Rickon will admit he enjoys it when she hovers over him; he can barely remember their mother now, so when he thinks of her, in truth he thinks just of her, of Sansa. She knows that soon these moments will vanish entirely, so she will enjoy them as much as she can, while she still has them.
Her first step is to unfasten the leather binding which his unruly red hair is tied back with- he’s taken to wearing his hair just as Jon does, secured at the base of his neck in a small bun. She smiles at the sight of it, as she always does, reaching for the comb sitting there on the tabletop. “You had quite the day,” she observes as she gently tugs the comb through his hair, careful of the knot she finds after the second stroke. “But you are coming into your own as King.” He looks over his shoulder up at her, blue eyes meeting blue, and he’s blushing at her compliment. Just like that, he’s a small boy once more, rather than this boy of thirteen she doesn’t always seem to know. “I am proud of you.” His cheeks, already red, deepen in color, and he turns away, hands twisting in his lap as she pulls the comb through his hair one final time. “There.” She steps back and sets the comb aside, crossing the room to pull his nightshirt out of its place in the wardrobe, laying it neatly across the tightly made bed.
By the time she’s turned around, Rickon is standing there behind her, close enough now she can reach out and touch him, if she so desired. Seeing him there, tall and thin, makes her heart ache for the family they’ve both lost. If only their parents could see him now, if only Robb could see him now… They would be as proud of Rickon as she and Jon were. Rickon is the one to move next, closing the gap between them in the form of an embrace, one which is surprisingly strong for one so small. Sansa closes her eyes, wrapping the boy in her arms, wondering how this was the same babe she once cradled to her chest. “I love you, Sansa,” he says, his voice cracking over the syllables of her name before he buries his face in the crook of her shoulder.
They stand there in such a way for a long moment, before she finally steps back from him, holding him out at arm’s length. “Good night, Rickon,” she says softly, leaning in so she can press a kiss to the top of his head. She slips away then, pausing for only one moment more, so she can hear his soft voice speak one last time.
“Good night, sister.”
“Good! Just like that!”
Those words are followed by one last clash of the two wooden swords, before a panting, grinning, sword swinging boy falls to the dirt to catch his breath. “You are better with each passing day,” the same voice continues and the young boy tilts his head back to look up into the face of the man that speaks to him. “Get up now, Sansa will have my head if she sees you in the dirt like this,” he says next, offering him a hand, which he takes readily, allowing the older man to help him up and back onto his feet as they both laugh.
In the three years since his crowning, they have spent many afternoons in this way, for what sort of King would he be if he could not swing a sword? And who better to teach him than Jon, after all? Though, on the rare occasion Jon cannot spar with him, his sister’s sworn shield has, and Rickon must admit she might be the next best to his older brother. And though Sansa says he has no reason to learn the art of the sword, for they lived in peace now, Rickon knows he must be prepared- just in case the day ever does come where he must protect his home and his people.
And the truth was, Jon thinks the very same way.
It was true, they did live in a time of peace now, but there was no telling when danger would arise once more. And Rickon, like every King in the North before him, had to be ready to fight alongside his men on the battlefield. He just hopes it will never again come to such a thing. Though he does enjoy the hours he spends with the boy, who is full of natural talent at swinging a sword, his stance often reminds him of Robb, who once upon a time was a boy eager to prove his worth to the world. “I am proud of you, you know,” he says as they make their way up the stairs, back into the castle. Rickon shoots him a sidelong glance, a look on his face that reminds him not just of Robb, but of their long dead father. “You will be a warrior king this world will not soon forget.” Rickon’s face breaks out into a wide grin as Jon slings an arm around his shoulders, tugging him just a little bit closer.
As they make their way inside, they both see her standing at the end of the hall, like she’s been there waiting for them. Sansa turns their way as they enter and her face blooms with a smile, raising her hand in a wave, blue eyes bright in their gaze. Rickon slips away first, making his way towards his sister, who immediately begins to fuss over the calluses on his palms and the dirt on his clothes, sighing when he assures her this was all part of being a king. “Go on then, your grace,” she gives him a playful push towards the great hall, where inside supper was waiting to begin. “I hope he’s not dirty because you knocked him into the dirt,” she says as he falls into his usual place at her side.
Jon laughs, shaking his head. “He did that himself,” he swears, leaning in so he can brush a feathery soft kiss to her lips. “Come, our growing boy king will have devoured all of the meal if we don’t get in there,” she rolls her eyes but takes his arm all the same, allowing him to guide her into the hall, thankful that after all this time, they have a moment such as this one.
They were together and that was what mattered the most.

"The netherworld is not a safe place for the living. If you are to succeed in bringing Jon Snow back, you must keep your head down and speak to no one." the Red Woman whispered, her eyes boring deep into Sansa's own as her knife cut into her palm. "I must warn you, he will not be the same when he returns."
Sansa Stark reaches Castle Black only to discover that her distant half-brother has been murdered. When Lady Melisandre suggests that their shared blood may be the key to saving the Lord Commander, she journeys into the land of the dead to find him. But death has not been so kind to Jon, unveiling all the secrets and sins of the past that resounds through the present. When hope comes in the form of a girl he has only dared to think of with his last breath, the moment their bloodied hands intertwine seals his fate as a traitor in all the ways that count.

A 19th c. New York City Jon/Sansa drabble
angst, longing, complicated relationships
Tumblr media
The announcement is made--Miss Sansa Stark's engagement to Willas Tyrell--at the party thrown precisely for the purpose of a grand announcement. Raise up the family in this trying time, brush all the unpleasantness under the imported rugs with music and food and the press of a crowd gathered to witness it.
Dany did say it would be an engagement. Swore to it twice as they rode down Fifth Avenue, carriage rocking. She sounded rather too pleased about the prospect when she usually has very little in the way of kindness for his cousin. Jon refused to believe it. Too old for her, Jon insisted, and he still thinks so, as he attempts to grit out a smile and his wife lifts her champagne.
"Raise your glass, Jon," she says, lips barely moving.
He does, but only to bring the crystal rim to his waiting lips. He won't toast the happy couple, nor will he do Dany's bidding. Not tonight. He's in no mood to be agreeable.
Dany does say he's taciturn and overly sensitive, so he might as well play the part the way her opera friends do nightly on a stage lit too bright.
"She's your cousin. Pretend to be pleased."
"I'm happy for her of course."
His hand flexes at his side.
Dany looks sidelong at him, pale brow arched. "Oh yes, very. Listen, try not to murder the man in front of this lot. They'll sue and I'm not sure your confidence would stand up to the task of self-representation."
Her dress is red. Blood red. Her favorite color. She never fades into the background. Not even among these people who whisper behind fans about her. Nor should she, and yet, her bold temperament is perhaps not as well suited to his as he once believed.
She'll insist he dances with her tonight, though he would prefer to hide in the palm room, nursing this damnable ache that's spreading through his chest. Just long enough so that he can pull himself together to congratulate Catelyn on the match. Or Bran if he isn't feeling up to facing the matriarch of the family.
"It's a shame she couldn't get what she wanted. I suppose that's a new sensation for her." Her head tilts, as the musicians begin to play. She brings the coupe to her mouth, covering it as she amends, "Who she wanted. But the Tyrells are climbing like roses, aren't they? She'll add a lovely old-world aura to all that vulgar American newness."
Sansa Stark is America, she's as American as they come, first family and all, but he understands the import. There is the New York of old and what's coming to sweep that all away in a cloud of coal dust.
"That mansion is a monstrosity."
Willas looks down at his bride to be as if she's made of moonlight, twinkling in the Stark ballroom that is half the size of the Tyrell one.
White. Virginal. Untouched.
Just last week Jon spread his fingers until they spanned her jaw and tipped her head back, so her perfectly pink lips parted like an opening bud before she fled from the glass gardens, trailing the smell of hot house gardenias.
Not unsurprising behavior from a bastard relation, even one who pretended to be decent.
His heart throbs.
If only it was just sin tucked in his breast. The right preacher could drive it out.
"I didn't know you had architectural opinions."
Yes, moonlight. Sansa Stark is a moonbeam captured in Willas Tyrell's open palm, as he tows her towards the dance floor where she and Jon have never publicly stepped out together.
He frowns down into his glass and grimaces against the burn of the bubbles as he swallows. "I don't."
"Perhaps they'll let her decorate it in her own style. There's endless money there." Her voice lilts, teasing, prodding at the wound. The right family was important once, now the right amount of money is the only thing that matters. "Or is it the family you object to? Such a snob for one born on the wrong side of the blanket, aren't you?"
"If Old Ned was alive--"
"Yes, he was very fond of you, I'm sure, but Catelyn Stark would have never, Jon. Never allowed it. You could be as rich as Croesus and she'd look down her nose at you. You know that. She's as provincial as they come. You too for some unknown reason."
She's only hissed out the assertion when Sansa's eyes meet his through a gap in the crowd. He might only imagine the fleeting swoop of unhappiness pulling at her features, the same thing he imagined on her pretty face when he returned from Vienna with Dany wrapped around his arm in a silk dress cut too low for Fifth Avenue society.
It seemed a fortuitous event when he met the beautiful widow with old family ties to New York, though Dany had never seen the city herself. There was a hint of scandal about her. But there was about him too, thanks to the circumstance of his birth and his newly acquired habit of staring rather too long at a girl meant for a grander gentleman than himself. What he wanted was outrageous in its presumption, and then the perfect solution to all his pitiful longing presented herself with almost silver hair and eyes like the lilacs that dripped before his mother's dressing window in the spring.
They were happy. But he missed New York. So they boarded a ship.
They ought not to have come here.
"I don't know what you're talking about," he mutters, chest rising and falling inside his starched shirt, as he stares across the ballroom.
"Catelyn Stark despising you or you spending too much time with your dear little cousin? I can expand on both."
"No need," he says, as the gap closes and Sansa's watery gaze is blocked out by tuxedoed shoulders. "But you could lower your voice."
"You ought to be glad people like the Tyrells are rising in this world," she says without paying him any mind. "Catelyn Stark will never allow you to sit at the head of her table, but the new standard won't care about your birth or my two dead husbands."
Only one is dead, but Jon wouldn't think to correct her.
"The new way will only care about what's between your ears and in your pocketbook. I know there's some intelligence in there," she says as her finger trails the shawl collar of his jacket. "If you would only use it."
"I'm sorry my profession isn't impressive enough for you and your aspirations."
She'd like to conquer New York, his wife, though she has the wrong personal history and the wrong husband for it. She imagined she would shine here the way she did in Europe thanks to her beauty and boisterousness and willingness to make a bold bet.
She boldly bet on him too. Her worst gamble.
"Even in the law you could prosper more than you do," she insists still too loudly. It's a well-worn argument between them now. "If you'd make the right connections."
Not the kind of connections Ned Stark would approve. The people she wishes him to befriend hold no appeal.
"I'll do my best," he says, mostly to prevent any further upheaval.
Her cheeks already are starting to heat and Jaime Lannister has turned his eye on them, lip curling in amusement. It's the effect of too much champagne, too much dancing around the truth. And while he wouldn't mind calling for the carriage, making a scene at Sansa's engagement party is not at the top of his to-do list.
What he'd like is to go to her, and profess things he ought not to. He wishes he could sink down on his knees to beg forgiveness. Either for loving her when she is so above his notice or not confessing it before she was lost to him, bobbing away like foam on the sea. He'd beg with his fingers grasping the embroidered hem of her ballgown, wrap his hands around her delicate ankles, kiss up the side of her stockinged calf, and then peel the silk down until his heathen hands touched flesh. He wants her hands buried in his curls.
She would never.
He's mad. Like his grandfather, the one they committed to Bellevue.
Before his misstep last week, he'd never even touched her bare hand since she entered society.
"And there might be hope for us yet, you and me. With pretty little Sansa wed and times changing," she says, lifting her glass, "you might even say our marriage is saved."

Jonsa Valentine’s Day Event 2024: Pragma - Longstanding love
When Sansa fell on hard times, Jon came back into her life and all the feelings flooded them again, because they had an longstanding love that distance and years could not overcome.
Aesthetic inspired by the news that Sophie Turner and Kit Harington are on screen reunion in the gothic horror movie.

more targ!jon x sansa cause yeah
im kind of obsessed rn???
He’s struck by the sight of her, draped in glittering gold silk, her hair unbound.
He’s never seen something more beautiful, he’s certain of that, likely to never see something as lovely as she was this night. “My lady,” he greets as she approaches, her hand to his lips for the briefest of kisses. She’s smiling now, blue eyes gleaming in the candlelight, dipping him a curtsy that steals the breath from his lungs. “My lady wife,” he corrects himself as their hands meet, prepared to fall into step of the dance the musicians play.
They fall into step as if they’ve practiced these moves over and over again- he doesn’t know, but she has, for she was diligently taught to dance as part of her upbringing in the North. “Husband,” she purrs the word in a way that sends chills down his spine, something he’s never thought to experience in all of his life. For someone who was hellbent against a marriage at all, he’s never been more thankful to have gone through with it. He spins her out and back again, both of them well aware of the hundreds of pairs of eyes upon them, for the dance floor has been cleared to allow space for the prince to dance with his bride alone. The court cheers and watches with dazzling smiles, most of them shocked to see their usual brooding heir smile in a way as he does now.
And it isn’t just the court that watches, for Rhaegar watches from his place on his throne, one hand wrapped around the stem of his golden goblet. “Ser Gerold, say, have you ever seen my son so happy?” The man at his side leans over, a sly smile curving on his lips as he shakes his head. “Nor have I… Marriage will suit him, perhaps more than I thought.” He turns back to watch as they meet at the center of the room, hands clasped, both breathing hard, the beauty that was Sansa Stark glowing in the candlelight. He has made a good choice, it seems, for his typically stoic son. He watches as Aegon takes her by the hand and leads her away, through the crowd and out the glass doors onto a balcony where they disappear from sight.
The night is warm and still, the twinkle of the stars catching her eye as she leans forward against the balcony railing. “I hope tonight has been to your liking,” Jon says as he comes to stand behind her, his words surprising her as she stands back upright, twisting around to face him with a gentle smile.
“Better than I ever could have imagined,” she speaks honestly, reaching for his hand as she’s done before, but her eyes tell him everything her words did not. In truth, she once had been afraid to come here, to come to King’s Landing alone, leaving her family behind, all so she might marry the rumored dark and angry black prince, but… She’s found herself to be happier than she ever imagined she could be in life. It was almost unreal, this feeling she had for him, like it could be stolen away at any moment. “I daresay that I am the luckiest of women alive.” it was not often that a woman found herself to be so truly loved, wanted, adored, by the man she was to marry.
Jon is inching closer now, one arm snaking around her waist, drawing her in as close as he can. She’s tilting her head back, red hair a waterfall down her back; he longs to run his hands through the length of it, to twist the locks between his fingers. “And I am the luckiest of men,” he replies, forehead to hers, lips hovering across hers; they’ve only shared one kiss since their wedding vows and he’s somehow nervous now that they are where they are. But she is the one to kiss him now, lips finding his in a feverish way, as if his kiss was the one thing keeping her anchored there. Her hands slide into place into his array of curls and he’s pressing his palms into the small of her back, marveling at how perfectly she fit against him.
When they break apart a few moments later it’s so they might stand there together in each other’s company, holding onto these last few seconds of privacy before they must return inside to the party. “Shall we?” He asks, offering her his arm, which she happily takes with a radiant smile. They would have all the time in the world, for privacy, after all.
And so they return inside, both knowing their lives together had only just begun.

Anyways maybe it is too obvious, but Sansa obviously wants to go see Barbie, Jon obviously want to see Oppeheimer. They go see both movies together on the same day (on the release day).
