ꕥ summary: she decorates for the holidays with white and blue, but for him, it doesn't cut it.

ꕥ authors note: thank highschool french for some speaking knowledge (with some Google translate sprinkled in) also pretty short because i lack Christmas ideas and I wanted to get this out before i work ungodly hours this weekend but it's still cute so <3

"MON AMOUR, what is this white and blue bullshit?" the monégasque spoke from behind her. she turned to see a look of disbelief creased on his face. she scoffed as she strung the ribbons about the room.

shaking her head as she tied it off and stepped down from the ladder, she took a step back to admire her work, "figured you had enough red trauma in your life," she'd poke fun at charles, a smile gracing her face as he, undoubtedly, stared at her in admiration. but he'd prefer red.

"not funny, chérie." he deadpanned, though she could see the smirk that pulled at his lips, "red is better than whatever this shit is." he shook his head, hand on his side as he looked up at the decor.

she pouted, "but the white and blue looks good, besides it's too much work to redo it all."

"I'll help you."

she rolled her eyes, burning holes into his as she heavily sighed. she rolled her neck to look at the strung ribbon and ornaments she'd worked hard to decorate.

he admired the effort and dedication to her christmas spirit, and honestly, he was just poking fun. as long as she was happy, it didn't matter to him if they were blue or white, or even the most hideous of neons if that's what her heart desired. he just wanted to poke fun at his love for not using the color that dominated his life, in a good or bad way.

at the end of the day, he'd know that no matter how she decorated, it'd end up more beautiful than the previous year as he'd increase the budget at which how much she could spend because let's be honest, he knew she'd come home with more bags than what could fit in the apartment if he didn't limit her spending. she was like a little elf compared to the mountain of items she bought, excluding gifts.

he didn't care how much of his money she spent, he'd gladly push as much of it towards her as he could because he had more than he could ever spend, and if he knew one person that could, it was her.

his hands would find their way around her waist, sliding his face into the crevice of her neck and inhaling the addicting smell of her shampoo lingering in her hair, the faint perfume residing on her skin as well.

his lips would leave faint kisses along her neck, muttering against her skin, "c'est jolie, chérie, tu peux le laisser." (it's pretty, darling, you can leave it.)

her voice would go up an octave as his warm skin pressed hers, smiling widely at her work, "merci beaucoup, mais je pense que le rouge serait plus joli." (thank you very much, but I think red would be prettier)

"moi aussi." (me too.) he agreed with her, feeling the smirk of his lips against her skin, she rolled her eyes, but regardless, she'd pull out the red decor from the years prior. though she didn't mind him forcing his ferrari trauma on her, she did like the change up, but she knew that he'd secretly prefer red.

but she didn't know that he just liked whatever she did. anything she did was perfect to him and he loved every idea that her mind thought of. she was sacred and he would protect that.

he'd watch her vigorously tear down the blue, but left the white, which he didn't mind as it contrasted nicely against the dark red she'd chosen and the gold accents that complimented it.

she'd stand tired, half-lidded eyes as she turned around the room to admire her work when she'd hear the footsteps of her love from behind her. she heard glass clink on the end table of their living room as he caught her hand in his.

he twirled her around the room, the soft piano sounds of christmas music played throughout the apartment as they swayed to the sound.

"très belle," he'd coo, "juste comme toi." (very beautiful, just like you)

she'd blush, feeling the heat rush to her face, "et tu es très beau." (and you are very handsome) she replied shyly, a chuckle escaping his lips at her demeanor, even though she'd heard the words numerous times.

"merci, mon amour."

Huntlow Grom Redraws (The Mud)

AHAHA YOU THOUGHT I WAS DONE WITH THESE? THE REDRAWS HAVE RETURNED!!!

First two things since I KNOW I will get comments about this

"Why is Willow's hair still braided?" Because I headcannon she cut her hair just before Grom. She figured it'd get in the way of her fighting Grom itself. At this point in time, she had not cut her hair yet, seeing as it's not until this moment when she decided to swap with Hunter.

"How did Willow use the light glyph?" IT IS NOT A LIGHT GYPLH. It's a light spell. "But that isn't a plant spell?" Light spells are confirmed to be an incredibly easy for any witch to do. Amity even says "That's nothing. A child could do a light spell." In Covention. I see no reason for Willow to be unable to cast a simple light spell.

I should also mention that this is NOT a Huntlow swap AU. Lumity Grom is still cannon. Everything in the show remains the same. This is simply a future Grom during the WAD timeskip. I'm just redrawing Willow and Hunter in their places because I think it's cool to see what they'd look like in these scenes.

Anyway, hell yeah, I'm finally back to these. This was incredibly fun to make, and some of these poses were challenging to replicate with Hunter and Willow's body types. The lighting was a pain in the ass, too, I ended up going through two different ways of doing it, I had gotten two panels done with the old method before having to redo them with the new better method. By panel 9, I went back and added my personal stylized shading on the hair and faces of Willow and Hunter. I intially left it out in favor of more show accuracy, then realized that I just didn't like how my art looked without it.

I did change a few of the expressions and poses from the screenshots I referenced.

Panel one is obvious, I had to change the hands due to Willow casting a spell circle rather then using a glyphs.

I made Hunter a bit more scared then Amity looked since I headcannon he has a phobia of mud.

In panel 5 I changed the expressions of both. Willow is worried instead of cheerful, and Hunter is sad instead of giving Willow a bitter look. Neither of the original expressions made sense for their character.

Willow in panels 7, 9, and 10 has little lines under her eyes to show that deep down, she is afraid and part of her doesn't want to replace Hunter, but she is doing it to be reilable and help Hunter. She'd rather make someone else happy than do what's best for her own well being.

Also made Hunter blush being starstruck because... well I wanted to haha.

Lady Virulent! An akuma design for Marinette that I'm finally content with! I've gone through so many different versions for her but none of them really felt like an akuma design until now

I think i've gone through so many that I'll just make a video of all the different versions I went through until I got one to my liking. And even with this design, I think I'm going to change it from a skirt to a pair of FLOOFY mushroom pants since I think that'll work a bit better

i'm gonna do another drawing of her at some point where her pose will show off more of the design and i'll incorporate da pants then

Under the cut I'll have some reasons for why I picked certain elements

In the fic where I do a different take on ml (It's not super necessary for u to know the details on that wip I got going on for this) I'm having it so that she gets akumatized ltr on and her whole theme is poisoning, causing poison infecting others etc etc

so.. MUSHROOMS and toxic gas

She don't actually got hair it is just the gas that surrounds her head all fun like. The mushroom on her head is meant to look like a beret. There are mushrooms that go up her legs and neck since I thought it would be a neat design choice from seeing dying trees with mushrooms growing up the trunk.

She don't got no normal feet since I couldn't figure out how to make the Toxic Gas shoes look like mushrooms when her feet aren't. Pointed.

Her powers (so far since this is wip) allow her to force other people into living out the worst damage they've caused other people. Whatever their worst tormenting strategy was and what damage it did to the person. The power ignores if the person has apologized or made up with the person they hurt.

She can pull off the mushrooms that grow around her waist and through them at people like bombs that'll explode into more of the toxic gas that initiates her power.

Where's the akuma?

The spots in the design are meant to, obviously, make the outfit look like mushrooms, but also to call back to her ladybug (ladybelle in my thing) form! They also serve to give a sickness look to her skin, and I think it'd be neat if the spots never stuck to one place in her design, always moving around

This was a first try for trying to animate how they move that I'll likely redo at some point. This animation isn't exact to how I think her spots would move around but, I'll throw it at you to give an idea

FINALLLYYYYYYYY finished my bookbinding of The Cool War by Randomini!! One of my favorite series on the SCP Wiki ^_^

Fun fact, after typesetting + formatting, The Cool War totaled about 306 pages and 57,504 words!

This is my first time bookbinding something so there are some imperfections here and there but overall I'm happy with the final product! I do plan to redo this project with better materials and techniques sometime in the future though...

I actually had a lot of fun typesetting this series!! I thought it'd be fun to do custom dividers for each chapter ^_^ originally I wanted each divider to be unique but it ended up being too much work so I just made one for each chapter 🤷

+ Some closeups of the intermissions! For Redd's chapters, I thought it'd be cool to have a sort of blood overlay effect bc. you know. But anyways fuck this guy his chapters were a bitch to format.

This project took a long ass time to finish, but it was enjoyable overall ^_^ Thanks to everyone who helped me design the cover and whatnot, hopefully I'll have time to do more bookbinding projects like this in the future. I like The Cool War wayyyyy too much so it's nice to have a physical copy I can be insane about <3

Life isn't the best for me atm, so would it be okay if I throw in a fun angsty scenario for your Vampire!Alhaitham? I love what you've written for him so far. In your option, if push came to shove, and Vampire!Alhaitham were given the choice to turn his darling or they die? Would he? (Say like Darling's expedition got ambushed by Eremites and Fatui, which left them on the brink of death and that's when Alhaitham finds them.)

To Alhaitham, human life is akin to holding a butterfly : clasp it too tightly and it'll crush, grasp it too gently and it'll escape. He's seen far too many demonstrations of this mortality, far too many eyes dimming and the blunt man he is, won't deny that many of those were by his own hands. The thought of your inevitable impermanence has plagued the vampire for a long time. Before you, he hadn't seen much to the fragility of humankind — but now he understands, there's beauty to mortality, tragic however so. There's charm to the beating of the heart, marching of the pulse and solace in the warmth a human radiates. To further complicate things, you'd whispered to him once your greatest wish ; to die normally. Perhaps it was the humanity that he'd long lost that made him fall this hard and so, he's vacillated between the choices for a considerable amount of time.

That's all he's managed to do as well ; think think think, yet, no decision came to birth. He's tried his utmost to shelter you out of harm's way, cradled you with such reverence not even he, himself has tasted — just to keep the light in your eyes ignited. But life loves to play its cruel charades and as your form grows colder and colder in his arms, his mind stills for once, no thought no analysis no strategy greets him and ultimately his desperation wins. He's ready to betray your faith, he can handle your anger and apathy, he can redo the whole process or earning your trust, he's willing to go back to square one ; anything anything anything. Just... the only thing he can't bear is losing you, too.

holy shit! Its done! Ive worked on this for about a month and a half now? I think? Its a somewhat redo of this post from exactly a year ago :) I hope you like it !!!

(List of symbols below the cut. Slight warning: It's a bit long)

Biana

The bird earrings and the goldish triangles in the background are supposed to represent the vacker crest and how her family name is always sort-of looming over her.

The background could be interpreted as a mirror or stained glass. a mirror because of nightfall, and stained glass because it's the kind of rich people thing the vackers would have.

The cracks in the mirror are very faintly outlined in gold. It's supposed to sort of represent how the constant pressure to be perfect and "golden" kinda fucked up her and her family, especially with regards to Alvar.

The mix of teal and purple in the mirror and the roses is supposed to symbolize the constant fight between being herself and being who her family and the rest of elven society wants her to be.

The flowers are roses because something something Biana is pretty but definitely has thorns. She can hurt you.

The butterflies are actually there for multiple reasons! Theres the obvious, being that butterflies are beautiful. But they're beautiful because their colors come from camoflauge. They look pretty to hide from predators. Also, the belding in could go with her vanisher ability.

I know it's a bit unclear, but the squigglies beside the butterflies are supposed to be snakes! Snakes are dangerous, but you don't usually notice them until it's too late. They sneak up on you. Sort-of resembling how no one would suspect Biana of being dangerous, and how being a vanisher lets her sneak up on people.

Fitz

He has matching earrings with Biana. This is sort-of to go with the whole "family comes first" thing with the Vackers. The birds are also to represent the family crest! (You can also see the crest in the squares in the corners)

His color scheme has a lot more teal than Biana's did. This is mostly because of the two, the family legacy effected him more. He was always going to be the golden child. The one true Vacker kid.

The swords on the sides are supposes to sort of symbolize his fighting. He's been almost nonstop battle training for a lot of books now, and even got an actual sword in the ending of stellarlune.

The swords are wrapped in roses. It's supposed to represent Sophie, since the Ruewen crest has a rose. She is what made him realize that the elven world was really shitty, and that there's a better world worth fighting for.

The feathers beside the swords are also supposed to represent the bird in the family crest.

The scales at the top are because of mr.snuggles mostly. Dragons have scales, so i thought it'd be fun. They could also represent a snake skin, and how throughout the series he's been growing and changing.

Below the scales are little thorns. These were supposes to symbolize all the littlethings he's said and done to hurt others, even if it wasn't intentional. His anger is a protects him, just like thorns protect a rose.

In the top right corner, there's a circle with a broken heart inside. It's supposed to be his cognate ring, and all the drama that's happened with Sophie.

The objects above his shoulders are crowns! bc vacker royalty or whatever!!

There's a broken heart behind him. The most obvious comparison for this would be his relationship with Sophie, but it could also represent his connection to Alvar or Keefe. Honestly, it could represent his entire relationship with the Lost Cities.

Keefe

The black dripping down the circle in the background is supposed to be shadows + quintessence. It could go with the scene in Legacy where his abilities are activated, or just represent how his life has been slowly getting darker and darker. Everything being overshadowed by the Neverseen.

The heart in the middle of the darkness can either be his empath abilites or how he's still trying to be a good person, despite everything that's happened.

The candles are a tie in to the Sencen crest, hand holding a candle. They could also represent how everything that's happened to him over the course of the books is slowly burning him out, and yet he's still desperately trying to help, and be a light for his friends.

The shapes surrounding the circle could be eyes, to represent the neverseen, or the petals of a flower. The flower would be to represent life. He's still alive and he's still going despite everything. His entire life was built on Gisela'a dream for the neverseen and her own plans though, hence why the petals are eyes.

The flowers on his necklace are a tie-in to the flowet bead necklace he made for his mother when he was little.

The petals are in a sort-of gradient from white to green. This is supposed to symbolize all the shit that's happened in recent years, and all the deaths and sadness that have piled up. There's still a ring of white though, to represent that throughout this he's still the same person. That he's still a good person.

Only one of his eyes is showing, and it's wide open. It's supposed to look a bit like the neverseen symbol.

In his outfit, you can see little heart symbols in the pattern, because he's an empath.

In the very back, the mismatched stripes are sort-of supposed to be the chaos and confusion that sort of goes with his character. His entire life is a mystery that only Gisela knows, and it's been a mess trying to figure it out. He doesn't know who he is or really why he even exists.

His eye earring is supposed to go with the Neverseen, and his sun earring is supposed to symbolize Icarus.

Sophie

The little pattern on her outfit is supposed to look like moonlark feathers !

Her outfit is blue because like. Red is her color, canonically, but her whole thing is supposed to be going against whats expected of her and making changes, so! Blue.

I tried to make her hair like. sunrise-ish colors. Since shes sort of like? A new beginning for the Lost Cities? If that makes sense?

Her little hair part has the silhouette of hope.

The circle outline in the back is supposed to be the cognate ring.

The shapes surrounding the circle are little wolf claws, to go with her dire wolf Team Valiant symbol.

The stars inside the circle are supposed to be her three human family members, and then her star off to the side.

The three blood drops are supposed to be the three main deaths that have effected her. Kenric, Calla, and Forkle 1.

The three leaves outlining the circle are supposed to be Edaline, Grady, and Jolie. Something something theyre leaves because wanderlings and Jolie's death was all they could see before Sophie came to them.

The leaves are right next to the fire because Brant killed jolie with fire !

Fire in the bottom right corner because. Every single fucking thing that has happened to her regarding fire. (Also Fintan possibly being her dad)

There are 11 stripes in the top right corner for her 11 main friends.

The rose is supposed to be the rose in the Ruewen family crest.

The red stripes in the top left corner are supposed to sort of look like her inflicting lazers.

The feathers are swan feathers.

The white triangles in the bottom left corner are alicorn horns (hence the sparkles).

Dex

The 4 circles on his necklace are the triplets and him. The bottom one hanging down could be either Dex or Rex, I think.

His shirt is sort of funky? I wanted it to be a bit like Slurps-and-Burps, I guess. A tiny bit different from the others.

Stars on his shirt! For when he and Sophie went star-gazing for a homework assignment.

The branch in thr background is supposed to be from his wanderling.

Fire! Because of his whole thing with it bc. You know. Tortured by it and shit. Also, just in general, this series can't go five minutes without fire being mentioned. So.

The little oval above it is supposed to be a bit linke a finger print? Because he still has that mark from when he got tortured. It was also supposed to look a bit like a sand dollar, because he got kidnapped on the beach.

Swan at the top! (It doesn't look much like a swan bc I did it with no reference. :()

It has a green eye because Neverseen! And how they've caused all this death and shit in his life.

Theres a gear at the top because he's a technopath.

In the back it's a bit hard to see but. There are little lines throughout thr black spaces. They were supposed to look a bit like wires. Technopath.

The circle inside the gear is supposed to be his Team Valiant gem, in his circlet.

Three water drops for the triplets.

Theres water at the bottom, partly because of the beach where he got snatched, but also partly because of like. His somewhat melting relationship with his mom after the Black Swan reveal? Since shes a Froster.

Behind the drops there's five stripes, to represent his whole family.

Idk theres a lot of family symbolism in this because its like? Such an important part of his character? Their reputation is what makes up so much of his motivations, especially in the earlier books.

Marella

Her hair was supposed to look a bit like fire.

Fire shapes on her outfit.

She has a little heart pin on her outfit because of her earlier ambitions to be an empath.

Eyes on her necklace for the neverseen. The orange triangles are for fire and thr blue ovals are for water. Because of her training practice with Linh.

The 3 dots on either side of her outfit are for the other three horsegirls of the apocolypse. Linh, Maruca, and Stina.

The wrinkles on her sleeves were also supposed to look a bit like fire? Not sure how well that worked out though.

There are 5 stars on her earrings to represent the five pyrokinetics deaths that caused the ban on her ability. They're stars bc her name means star of the sea.

The pink/yellow/blue stipe on the left is supposed to represent the torch she had in the ending of stellarlune, bc those are the colors is turned.

Exillium beads above the stripes to represent her relationship with Linh and how she was angry that Sophie didn't ask her to come with her in Neverseen.

The waves above the beads are supposed to tie into her "star of the sea" name.

Above that is Fintan's ear :). The moon earring hanging down is supposed to be like, controlling the waves? And they're supposed to represent Marella's name so it's like. Fintan manipulating her during their training sessions.

The sun at the very top because like. fire. sun.

Little wind at the top right corner for her dad, Durand, whose a guster.

The shape on the right is the balcony that her mom fell off.

The vines growing up it are supposed to sort of represent death? Her mother didn't die, but I'd assume they probably mourned her a bit like they did with Alden. She's not totally gone but she'll never be the same as she once was.

Theres a salamander climbing up the balcony because of the myth that they're immune to fire, and how pyrokinetics are supposedly immune to fire but can still be effected by everblaze. If that makes sense?

There are little yellow dots scattered throughout the background that are supposed to be like. Little sparks from fire.

Linh

She has a moon earring to sort of represent control over waves and shit.

Same thing goes for the moon above her head!

Her registry pendant is like? Simpler? Compared to the others, since she was banished and all that.

Dots on her outfit are exillium beads if it wasnt clear. :)

The symbol on her jacket (?) are rainclouds.

The lines on her sleeves are supposed to look like rivers.

Purple handprint in the background because of her exillium placing.

The stairs behind it are supposed to be the stairs at Tiergan's house. There are 6, one for each person who lived there at some point.

The little red/blue drops and sea are like. The blood slowly turning into water/ her taking control over her ability.

It could also be all the ogres she probably killed when she flooded Ravagog.

The 6 stars beside the moon are to represent all the Endal-Alenfars.

The darker star is Rayni.

The plants at the top are supposed to sort of represent the gnomes they lived with. They make a dome shape, to sort of symbolize the dome surrounding Atlantis.

The flowers at the ends of the vines(?) are supposed to represent her and Tam.

The cattails at the very top are because they grow near water and Linh had to grow up near the water, even though she couldn't control it yet because of her parents.

The dragonfly was Diras idea :)

The purple and red in the background is sort of like. Who she was at exillium and in general (sweet, helpful, whatever, etc.) vs like. That darker part of her that flooded Ravagog.

Tam

He has a sun earring to sort of parallel Linh's moon. The sun has like. A bit to do with shadows if I remember 4th grade science well enough.

Exillium beads on his outfit :)

He's wearing the Endal crest because like. I think they're more important than his actual family will ever be. (It also annoys me a tiny bit that him and Linh are wearing the Song crest in almost all of their official art.)

He and Linh have the same like. Set of earrings. One gold and one silver.

Like Linh, his registry pendant is also simpler compared to the others.

The blue/black color scheme on his outfit is supposed to sort of go with him and Linh's ability colors.

Two buttons on his outfit for him and Linh.

Behind him is a shadow, to go with his ability. There are also like. Smaller shadows throughout.

Above the shadow's head is a crown. It's supposed to be the one from Legacy, when Tam had to blast Keefe.

Above him are like. 2 stars and 4 little dots. The stars are him and Linh, and the rest are the other Endal-Alenfars.

The line in the middle is supposed to represent his ambi placing in Exillium.

The top right corner is Eternalia/ the Tribunal Hall, where Linh got banished.

The top left is Exillium.

The sky like? Gets a bits brighter as it transitions from the Tribunal to Exillium to sort of represent how they were more free? I guess? Even if it wasn't ideal, they were away from their parents and they had power over their lives at least a bit.

The bottom right is the river that they lived beside in book 4 that Linh parted for them.

Beside the river are little pebbles in sets of twos for Tam and Linh.

In the bottom left is the staircase to Tiergans house.

Around the line in the middle are little flowers. From left to right they represent: Wylie, Rayni, Tiergan, Prentice, and Linh.

i have been wondering - a thought has occurred to me. To unlock the downpour tree ending we must first complete the gourmand campaign right? We only unlock that after ascending one of our first slugcats for the first time. After that we can redo an ending for the monk and the survivor as the outer expanse has unlocked. What if we take the redoing ending as the actual thing that happens. What if Gourmand ending causes an in-universe retcon that alters the course of the future survivor and monk from seeking ascension to actually returning home, thus preventing their ascension when it was their original course of action? That feels quite nonsensical but i wanted to contemplate.

I think you can take this multiple ways!

The first for example would be that the Survivor void ending is always canon, because you need it in order to play Gourmand in the first place.

On the other hand (please do correct me if I'm wrong) while the game does change things according to what you have done in other campaigns, for example, giving Moon her cloak or failing a run as hunter before playing Gourmand, it does not change Monk's outer expanse ending. Which always includes Survivor. That doesn't change I think.

super long nonsensical ramble below. less a proper explanation, more so me brainstorming...

While with the void, you can assume it forms visions of what the slug cats want to see, the outer expanse endings are a pretty clear cut case that Monk does meet Survivor no matter what which supports your retcon theory. I think it's really interesting I like your take!

It is probably the most likely way to explain why you always meet Survivor as Monk in outer expanse (betting all my cards that it's the case). Which would sort of erase the canon ending of the non-downpour game which is so... wacky.

I do think the world works in a multiverse/timeline way though perhaps?

Depending on the differences of what actually happens, the timeline branches off. If you die, you get "respawned" in another timeline. So the karma symbols could symbolize where exactly on that branched path you are. Creatures on their own in rain world cannot overcome the survivor karma (except for scavs if i'm not mistaken which further speaks for their insane intelligence). Which makes sense, animals want to survive! They need otherworldly worms and robots to get over that earthly bound.

UH sidetracked a bit there, but in short if the world in rain world works with the multiverse principle in mind, it'd make every single decision you make, ending and whatnot, canon.

Though it would make it extremely confusing on how an ascended Survivor can coexist with a non-ascended one, as their cycles should probably merge at the very end.

Then there is the fact that cats like Riv are confirmed to have died of old age so Riv's ascension should not be a thing, because if it ascended and separated all of it's cycles away from the world, then it wouldn't have died or even healed Moon in any.

Uh.. went backwards here. I think the multiverse theory works and is fun, but only if ascension is excluded from the "always possible and canon category".

So this overly long ramble is to say I think your retcon idea is fun and cool and I like it.

Hiiiiii! I would like to request a rambling about your WIP. Anything you've been wanting to talk about?? Yeah, I want to hear about that!!

omg hi!!!! hm okay let me see. i've been in the middle of redrafting the entire thing for the past few months so i am full of a multitude of very disorganized thoughts. i think i'll talk about my mc's mother bc i recently had so many good ideas about her (you can see her here)

things to know about Leithe. she's 5'5". I've spelled her name about half a dozen different ways through my drafts. she's really bad at lying. she's pan. i associate her with sunflowers and yellow chrysanthemums.

she was the child of lesser nobles in Ngelorim (one of 3 kingdoms that was later abandoned) and despite socially really not needing to do anything of the sort, she was a very outspoken peace advocate and proponent of strengthening the Alliance to include non-elves. (in this setting, elves aren't really like...better in any way? they just live a long time, and humans think they're sort of cowards and unreliable, due to the whole "abandoning kingdoms after magic eco-warfare caused a mass soil degradation speedrun" thing, which is remembered with a lot less nuance by human oral retellings.)

she was coppersmith (?) by hobby. that's very specific so idk for sure but she made jewelry of some variety and was like. passably decent at it. just for fun. she was halfway decent with a sword, I'm thinking maybe like a light sabre/rapier, again just for fun and because she liked staying active and like. queer woman's fixation on swords and all that.

she met idhren at some stuffy social event, where she was speaking about a probably-unpopular political stance. at the time, he was serving on the council in Linador (one of the other 3 kingdoms) as a mediator, or...maybe he was already on the larger Alliance council I need to redo the timeline. and he was immediately just so impressed because, you know, she didn't have to be saying any of that, it wasn't popular, but she didn't care. so naturally he Did Not Fucking Talk To Her. at least not on purpose. later that night he went outside for some fresh air (introvert social battery on 0%) and ran into her. and they hit it off, kind of bonded over people seeing only surface-level things about them. she was pissed off about only being seen as a pretty face and nobody listening to her words, and he was uncomfortable with the unwanted attention of people always pointing out his foreign Fairalmin accent.

they eventually became pretty close friends. don't worry about the timeline. hundred years or so lmao. a very "he fell first, she fell harder" type thing: he kind of always saw her as like a safe person, someone he enjoyed being around and who was entirely captivating as an aside, but he was perfectly content to leave it at that and never mention it. she'd only seen him as like, very serious in a quiet melancholy sort of way, sort of demure and whatever, and vaguely knew he'd been a low-ranking military officer before a council mediator, but at some point saw him sparring and in armor and was just like. "oh. ok cool. im very normal about this. fuck." i made a post of her with the "babygirl your enormous eyebags and just barely noticeable tremor have captivated me" meme and like. yeah.

at that point he was on the Alliance war-council thing I mentioned, and in a...well I hesitate to call it a relationship, with the general/warmaster leading it all. worked closely under him, they'd both experienced similar losses they hadn't really healed from, the warmaster wanted a purely physical distraction from the stress of war/his partner's death. again, Idhren was perfectly content to ignore his own feelings of wanting something more, but finally he did have to break it off just for his own sanity. honestly, he and Leithe (who were sort of figuring out their feelings by then) would've been okay with a casual poly thing if it'd been on the table.

anyways, in the war's aftermath they became a couple in earnest. at some point Therien (my mc) was born. she's a weird little fucker lmao i love her dearly. when Therien was 12, Leithe was part of some peace convoy during a nearby kingdom's civil war, and was killed when they were attacked.

idhren was like "oh my god i am not mentally stable enough to be responsible for raising a child in a healthy environment she needs to stay with my friend for a few years while I get through this" which like, not a great option, but the guy had been launched full force back into half-healed trauma response suicidal ideation so I can't blame him. my first book begins 5 years later, when Therien meets her father again and gets the chance to come home, right on the edge of another war, and gets to learn a lot about her parents on top of the usual teenage uncertainties.

(also thank you for letting me ramble about this it was very fun lol, I'm going to spend time reading up on your wip posts so I can ask questions about them as soon as I have a chance <3)

SCP OC Posting !!

I thought I should talk about Arin more since he's my little guy

Dr. Arin Akins can come back from the dead, though he isn't too sure why exactly he developed this ability. While it is of a result of bending reality, he does not posses the ability himself.

He works up close and personal with (primarily dangerous) sentient/sapient SCPs and is usually responsible for reports on what has been requested by said SCPs. He is also often sent out on the field as a negotiator but he has a fair bit of strategical training as well.

Painfully Southern and routinely uses insane Southerner phrases like "it's hotter than two ferrets fuckin' in a wool sock". Commonly regarded as an easy guy to talk to though, and always happy to help in a Southern-hospitality way. Will unironically do pretty much anything in exchange for a little gossip he's just curious like that.

May or may not have gotten the SCP logo branded on his left shoulder blade for fun. May or may not have gotten very upset when he found out that he could have gotten his football team branded instead. Refuses to further comment on it or why he would have done such a thing. (He was totally bragging about his pain tolerance)

Used to use his ability to come back from the dead as a party trick and was also very very deep in the pre-America dueling scene. Still sometimes offers to duel people. Is no longer allowed to.

Especially early in his career, he used to die a lot and he'd spend some time in the med bay following him coming back so he's very close with a lot of the nurses/medics/doctors and often makes conversation with them as per usual.

The one scar that will never fully heal is the one over his heart, from his first death, but any other will eventually fade. Any wounds left over from death on his body heal enough for his body to function afterward but he usually does have some leftover repercussions. Mostly severe anemia or really bad headaches.

Has a tongue piercing because he thought it'd be funny. He's had to redo it like ten times because he'd die with the barbell out and it would close up as a result of his body healing as he was coming bacl.

Despite not being a reality bender, he can change his eye color (as eyes are the window to the soul) and LolFoudnation!Arin most definitely has red eyes. He was using them to out-edgy/threaten someone and got caught and was too embarrassed to admit HE did it to himself so he lied and said it was an accident with another skip and just stuck with it forever.

He is VERY, IMENSLY gay but he spent so long in the closet/with women so he's too nervous to call himself gay, but bisexual doesn't feel right to him either so he just shuts down if he's asked what label he identifies.

Massive girl dad energy despite not having kids. Will very willingly offer to be a model for clothes/test makeup/have his nails done if someone expresses the need to have it done.

One time wore one of those dresses that have slits up both sides for a dare at a party. Someone has lots of photos of him drinking and playing poker in it and he does not know who.

Tried to do something different here but ehhh, didn't stick the landing. Was fun trying something new, tho'! Good to try and change things up from time to time, 'suppose.

I came across the OG drawing a while back and thought it'd be fun to revisit the general concept.

p.s. SMRPG is fun. Highly, highly recommend it!!

Also the funny thing is that Geno isn't my favorite character: it's actually Mallow! I normally don't like to and/or want to draw popular characters, but I found the original drawing and thought it'd be neat to approach it from a near 20-years later perspective if nothing else.

Finally after thinking about it for so long, I quickly designed an "Amazing Digital Circus" OC. I love this pilot and I cannot wait to see a full series, and I was really inspired about how fun and colorful it is :). BTW I do plan on making actual fanart for the series, I've just been busy w/ something big lately.

So her design is based off of cotton candy & the cones they are served in. I personally adore cotton candy, and I thought it'd work well with the circus theme. (cotton candy's like a pretty general treat, so it can work in other contexts too)

I don't know what role she'd serve in the context of the show, and as of now she doesn't have a super defined personality. I'm also planning on redoing her design when I draw her digitally, just to make a final design I'm happy with. Though it won't change much from what's seen here.

As you can also tell, I haven't fully decided on a name, so if anyone has suggestions, feel free to leave them :)

One year later

I walk around with the dress in one hand, trying to find my panties somewhere in the living room -and constantly thinking that now I'll have to redo my makeup because somebody thought it'd be a good idea to have some fun before the wedding.

—Here! —Jungkook celebrates, raising my white panties and waving them in the air.

I sigh in relief, snatching the fabric away from his fingers as if he had just found my most precious thing. I run to the bathroom, closing myself in there, just to hear his voice from the other side.

—Why did you make that big fuss over those panties?

—I bought these especially for this dress —I say, while I start getting ready.

White is a good color to wear with any dress, thin fabric... It probably took me longer to find a proper underwear I'd be happy wearing than the dress itself. Yeah, I couldn't picture myself wearing one of my colorful cotton panties under it either. Finding those panties, after that quickie, was more a matter of pride and logic -after spending forty dollars on a whole set, just to wear the lower part of it.

—I can't believe you closed the door —he complains, and it's almost immediate the way I picture his pouty face as he says that.

—I know you too well —I finally open the door, when I'm done with my make up—. Help me with the dress —I turn on my feet, my exposed back facing him.

Jungkook traces my spine with the reverse of his finger, making my whole body squirm and forcing me to call him out -and me indirectly.

—We'll be late —I try to sound serious, but I end up giggling when I feel his lips on my neck—. And your parents will kill us if we don't make it on time.

Jungkook finally gives in, giving one final kiss on my shoulder to go and get the keys of his car. I still remember how much he insisted on not buying it three months ago. And thank god he finally gave in and decided to buy it, so he'd stop sharing the same car with Soo and Mark.

When we get there, I'm relieved to see we made it on time. A lot of people are waiting in the hall of the venue, I can even spot Tammy with her plus one -a man I haven't seen in my life, but I've probably heard of.

I feel him holding my hand, intertwining our fingers in a tight grip as we head inside completely. It doesn't take us too long to head where our group of friends are, as soon as we spot them. I know Jungkook can be easygoing in general, but he tends to have a bad time when he's surrounded by a lot of people he doesn't know. While I grew to get more used to it because of my job, and the several parties and events I had to attend to get to know extravagant artists, and even more extravagant customers.

—We really thought you wouldn't make it —Hobi mentions when we finally stand in front of them.

—We were just five minutes late —Jungkook replies, trying to minimize the fact that we could've missed the ceremony because we were too busy fucking.

—I expected it from Jaykay, but you Y/n, you're supposed to be the responsible one —Namjoon points it out to me.

—That's what I told him —I try to defend myself—. But he's stubborn as fuck.

—Wait, why is everyone attacking me now? —he looks at all of us.

I pinch his cheek when the rest of us just laugh it off. The conversation switches from us to the wedding almost right after. Soo and Mark were so excited for this party, and it's obvious they've put their hearts and efforts into it by the way everything has been treated with such delicacy and dedication.

During the ceremony, I catch Jungkook looking at his sister and Mark with a tiny smile and bright eyes. The same eyes that look down at me whenever he feels I'm looking at him, leading that lovely look with a kiss on my temple and a tight grip on my hand. And that same excitement only seems to grow bigger when both Soo and Mark read their vows. My eyes travel from the sweet couple to Jungkook, finding him trying to hold back his tears as much as he's able to. I pull him closer to me, making him bend over so I can hug him as he finally gives in and lets the teardrops run.

In this whole year of dating -especially after moving in together-, I found out his real nature. Not that I didn't know it before, but I got to know it in a deeper way. The more times I spent with him, the more contrast I found between his facade and his real self. And I'm in love with every tiny bit of him and that cute man that gets excited with the intro of his favorite show. With this man that simply loves life and enjoys the smallest things.

During the reception, we part ways several times. He stays at the table, although he sporadically joins us on the dance floor -either because I insist, he feels the song or his mom invites him for a dance.

It's probably around the sixth song I'm dancing to in a row with Tammy that I'm aware of how tired I am, and how bad I actually need a drink.

I support my body on my elbows resting on the counter, while I wait for the bartender to hand me the Mojito I asked for. My plan of sitting next to Jungkook for a few minutes gets interrupted by a male voice on my left. And I'm surprised to see that it's actually Seokwoo, greeting me with a wide smile before he asks for a drink as well.

—I didn't know you'd come —I say first.

—I couldn't miss Soo's big day —he answers, pointing at his cousin.

We chat for a few minutes. We ask each other how life has been going, since we haven't seen each other since that birthday party in Seneca, which he actually brings up at some point.

—I would've never thought you were dating Jungkook when we went on that trip —he casually mentions—. Although it makes sense, because you were hiding.

—Huh? —I frown— What do you mean?

—On that trip to Seneca, I asked Jungkook if you were dating someone. And he told me you two were dating, but nobody knew yet.

—He told you that? —I raise my eyebrow.

That little shit.

—Yeah, it's good to see you aren't hiding anymore —I nod, raising my glass to his statement.

Seokwoo chats with me a bit more, until he finally decides to go back to his girlfriend. And I do the same, stopping mid way because Jungkook is already walking in my direction with a twisted lip -because he's probably biting the inside of his cheek-, one hand in his pocket while the other takes the glass and puts it back on the counter so he can hold my hand.

Once we are on the dance floor again, both of his hands hold me by my waist to keep me close to his body, while my arms wrap around his neck, dancing to the ballad that the DJ is playing now.

—What did Seokwoo want?

—We were just chatting —I shrug—. It was good having a conversation with him without running away.

—Oh really? —he lifts both of his eyebrows.

—Really —I nod—. He told me he moved from Korea to Chicago and found a job quite fast —I start summing up what we talked about—. Oh, and I also learned we were dating back in the Seneca trip.

When I mention that, his rough expression slowly evolves to one of a little kid that has just been caught red handed, pressing his lips together as he tries to think of the next answer.

—Mind you explain how I was in a relationship without knowing?

—It was the morning after —he starts—. He started asking about you, and I don't know why I said you were my girlfriend.

I play with his hair, nodding to his explanation.

—You were jealous —I sing.

—I wasn't —he scoffs—. It just pissed me off how he had the audacity of trying to hook up with you when we were celebrating Mel's birthday. It's... —he stops when his eyes land on me, and he knows I'm not buying a single word he says— Okay, I was jealous —he finally accepts—. But I wasn't far fetched, look where we are now.

—Are you trying to say you predicted it?

—Hmm —Jungkook nods—. And if I were you, I'd be ready. Because I'm thinking of starting to tell everyone you're my wife.

I giggle at his comment, hiding my face on his neck as we keep dancing in tune with the song that's playing. And finding myself too into the idea of that possible future.

The rest of the party goes on with the same vibe. Jokes, laughs, lovey looks that slowly evolve into tired and sleepy gazes -begging for the party to end so we can go back home.

When we finally leave and get back home, we rush to change into some comfy clothes so we can lie on the couch. Appreciating and enjoying the fact that we are back home.

Jungkook leaves our room first, or at least I make sure of that so I can get his birthday gift out of my drawer and walk to him with them behind my back. He looks at me suspiciously, but he's either too tired or knows I'll show him what's up eventually.

A naughty smile draws on his face when I straddle him without saying a word -just wearing some shorts and one of his oversized t-shirts.

—I know your birthday is in a week, but I'm awful at hiding surprises.

I move my hands up in the air, showing him the plane tickets for Seoul. His eyes widen when he starts reading the flight information, and looks at me unbelieving of what I've done.

—Babe, you didn't have to do it —he hugs me tight—. I bet it was fucking expensive.

I peck his lips, smiling in his mouth. I'm just happy to see he liked my surprise.

—You've kept saying you wanted to go —I shrug—. So when Jin cleared one week in October from schedules, so I could have some off time, I booked the flight and the hotel.

—I seriously don't deserve you —he hugs me tight—. You have no idea how bad I love you, cocktease.

—I love you, too.

If a year ago someone had told me I'd be madly in love with the same person I made a deal with to end up giving him all of my first times, I would've thought that person was tripping. Where in the world would anything between us work? But I'm glad everything turned out this way, I'm glad I managed to meet such a beautiful person and be allowed to share these moments with him.

I'm glad that, just like those tattoos he made, he got under my skin so deep I won't be able -nor I want to- get rid of him and everything I feel.

Ok I have a good few reasons for this!!! I love es milgram that much is obvious but my reasons for liking characters is usually really disorganized so I'll try my best

A) they're so cool looking I love their character design!!! Like holy shit. I've cosplayed them before type of good character design yk

B) they just like me fr

C) they're such a fun concept for an audience insert!! With their own opinions and morals that are somewhat shaped by the audience. Affected by but not entirely reflective of the audiences views and opinions because they're still their own character. Augh.

4) if you could put them in any other media, what would it be?

Hmm if you mean type of media I'd say video game milgram 💥 it'd be fun!!

If by media you mean fandom... Then idk 💀 I'm not the type to crossover single characters, so it'd be like. All of Milgram into something like hsr (iirc someone made this concept... I've thought about it alot but I don't remember who)

12) what's a headcanon you have for this character?

I like to think they regularly check in on the prisoners of their own will! They say it's routine checkup but realistically jackalope didn't say shit about checking in on prisoners outside of interrogations.

Alternatively I think they tend to hold jackalope while sleeping. He hates this

20) ideal best friend for this character

This one's a hard one... Within Milgram I'd say......... Yuno? Or fuuta? Just based on vibes, really. Maybe muu but I haven't watched her voice dramas yet...

He is not a character you'd want to have things in common with if I'm to be honest. Anyways.

Probably my manner of speaking? Doesn't come across as much in text because I make good use of emojis and the words lmao and lol too much. Also the rebuttal of Es' statement in trial 1 vd is something I'd do no hesitation. I was hoping he'd do that actually.

Alternatively... I guess general personality? In the whole mellow, apparently resting bitch face and unintentional aura of intimidation (friends words), and I guess being stupid and stubborn counts, yeah?

18) Relationship with another character in canon that you admire?

....is it off topic to say him and his wife. I think they were cute. Unfortunate, the use of past tense tho lmao

As of current milgram......... Idk he's not the most interactive. Seems to be just acquaintances with most other prisoners... Maybe him n Kazui? The relationship is formed on an unhealthy habit but they seem to by trying to have each other's backs and that's nice.

23) favourite picture of this character

TRIAL 2 ALBUM ART it's so pretty. The way the light flares frame his face like a "halo" in a way no other door art does. The lighting....

25) What was your first impression of the character? How about now?

Oh my god you wouldn't believe. Ok so first impression was amusement if I'm fr. I thought him being the only one going "yeah I'd like to die. As atonement of course" was really funny. After that, because I did buy into the organ harvesting theory at the time, I thought the innocent vote was funny. Then triage made me cry.

Now I have Very Complicated Feelings (positive) of points at him hello Mr morally fucked up. I want to see you get worse. I am extremely strange about my favourites I think you can tell.

If you're talking generally then I love the songs I love half so much I love cats so much . What about him makes him always get banger songs

25) first impression vs current one

Well....on first watch of half I spent an hour analysing it, but I can't quite remember my first impression of kazui as a character...

I know I liked the theatre imagery and the implication that he was hiding something. I also remember that even then I did not believe the cheating allegations. I was right btw/silly

Now he makes me sad. I still hold a similar impression but now there's the extra thing that cat gave me of him being a liar since birth so it's not just a lie thing it's a mask to keep yourself safe thing. Aughghghg
