LUXIEM Bedtime Routine

Disclaimer and Reminder; this is based on the characters made by NIJISANJI, not the people behind the character voicing them. If in the future the person expresses or states that fics of this nature makes them uncomfortable I will 100% remove this or anything I write about the characters involved.
Bedtime routine:
Always has a cup of sleepy time tea before bed
Will force you to drink one too (because you both have no sleep schedule <3)
For nights where you both go to sleep on time, skin care routine
Hear me out.... I'm talking face masks, creams the full sends baby
Once all of that is taken care of y'all will eventually change into whatever you sleep in (Oliver-sensei outted Ike the other day for sleeping in only boxers lmfao but that's not relevant)
He will spend at least an hour reading in bed before falling asleep, be prepared with a sleeping eye mask maybe?
Or start a night time books club with him because he will not change this
He is a novelist after all
Once he's done reading and the glasses come off, one of two things will happen
He will fall asleep immediately
Or you guys will be up for the majority of the night talking about deep stuff
You know those sleepovers you have with your homies where it gets deep, that's what I mean
Regardless what time you pass out you are sure to sleep safe next to Ike!
Extras:
Ike doesn't strike me as a guy who likes to cuddle in bed, if anything you accidently snuggle up to him he'll shuffle away from you
He sometimes will fall asleep at his desk which is a habit he only started since streaming, back when he was novelist he didn't have this problem for some reason
Ike sleeps with like one blanket? I hope you like the cold <3
Bedtime routine:
I feel like Mysta's bedtime routine is a wildcard, you never know what he's gunna be doing to eventually end up in bed
You brush your teeth and he goes "OoOOoh I knew I was forgetting to do something."
Sleeping feels more like a chore to him then a necessity
You'll catch this man up at 3 am playing Minecraft and he'll still be like "Oh shit, is it bedtime?"
He's a piece of work to even get him to start to migrate towards the bedroom
Once he finally changes and lays down; he's kind of like Ike, where he'll immediately pass out or will spend hours talking to you
However the conversations are more like "Why is cheddar cheese orange do you think?"
GOOGLE IT IDK I'M TIRED
Once he finally falls asleep he 100% mumbles in his sleep, you find it endearing as you slip on a pair of headphones or earplug's
Extras:
Opposed to Ike; you will wake up either cuddling or being cuddled by Mysta
Despite the struggle to get this man into bed, he sleeps better next to someone
Known to occasionally sleep walk
You found him in the bathtub one time it was kinda scary
He firmly denies this ever happened
Bedtime Routine:
Vox is very ritualist when it comes to bedtime
He's also a very sleepy demon and enjoys maximizing his sleep to its full extent
So with him it's very "no nonsense"
He takes a shower
Blow-dries and cares for his hair
He brushes his teeth (While still in a towel)
Again h e a r m e o u t....
He's a voice demon that came back to life, he has a skincare routine for bedtime (Still in a towel btw)
All luxury products of course
After that he change into something comfy
For some reason after all of that this man sleeps in mismatched socks like a sociopathy
Once y'all lay down he'll watch some stupid memes on his phone of a bit or do some light reading
There is no in between
Once he's done however he is out like a light, usually within an arms reach of you
Extras:
Similarly to Mysta, you will wake up in his arms
It's funny because he insists it's entirely your doing
On the rare occasions where he can't sleep he'll get up and cook something
He says it helps him relax
The delicious aroma however wakes you up and the two of you share a lovely midnight snack
Bedtime Routine:
Luca tends to stay up really late
This is partial because of old work habits (if no ones awake to see you get rid of a body then it isn't a problem)
Luca like Vox though has bit of a ritualist bedtime getting ready routine though
Shower
Brush teeth
Change
Without fall no matter how late into the night (morning) it is
Once in bed, he crashes
The man is out like a light
I think because his bedroom is definitely his own space he feels at ease and can just doze off
It does help that he has a very nice bed I guess too
Once again you know you can sleep safe next to Luca, he wouldn't let anything disturb you
Extras:
Like Mysta, Luca does occasionally talks in his sleep, but not nearly as loud as Mysta does
He doesn't strike me as the cuddling type either, i think if you tired it wake him up
Despite being able to sleep easily he also wakes up super easily
Again probably due to his pat
Fear not though, once Luca let's his gaurd down again he passses out pretty quickly again
Bedtime routine:
Shu, like Ike, has a big cup of tea before bed
He swears up and down that drinking something warm before bed gets you to sleep faster
He's also diligent with his night time hygiene needs
Once again; for the final time, I'm asking you to hear me out

You cannot sit here and tell Mr. Shu Sorcerer Yamino (eyyyyyyyyy) doesn't take good care of his skin
Off track but anyway
Kind of like Luca, once he's in bed he is out
I also feel like Shu snores but like not loud? It's kinda like white noise (like listening to ocean??)

Extras:
Shu is also not a cuddler, he's more the type to like accidently fall out of bed if you snuggle up to him
He doesn't like feeling the extra body heat on him while he sleeps
Off topic again but he also has a strict morning routine which consists of him getting up early
He's be trying to get you on board but like sleep ya know?

"The Mission" by Lunawrayth - Rated M, Canon-Divergent AU, Multi-chapter, Ongoing. It wasn't that Hinata never expected to work with Naruto, just never on a mission quite like this.
-I check this one for updates so often. at least once a week, but more like multiple times a week.
"thus a silenced memory" by @keroppri - Rated T, Modern AU, Multi-chapter, Ongoing. Eight years flown on by and Naruto makes his return to the city where he once fell in love, only for him to leave hollow and broken after she was persuaded to leave him. Plagued by her memory at every corner, a chance meeting changes fates, minds, and hearts. Thus he tries to silence the memories. Inspired and based on Jane Austen's Persuasion.
-ahhh loving the yearning angst of unrequited love (but it's actually requited) in this fic.
"Amaranthine" by @opttagoyeo - Rated T, Various AU, Series of unrelated one-shots. A few drabbles/ideas ranging from fluff, confusing, humor, and angst regarding the most iconic and popular canon couple of Konohagakure, Naruhina.

"After Office Hours" by Pandora_Imperatrix - Rated M, Canon-Divergent AU, Multi-chapter, Complete. Naruto is lonely after Sakura and Sasuke left the village to travel together, he keeps leaving the office later and later, things start to change after one night when his secretary Hinata and him share a couple of vending machine beers.
In this AU Naruto becomes Hokage a lot earlier than in the manga and The Last never happened.
-It's been years since this was updated, and recently Pandora updated and just finished it!!!!!!
"Friends with benefits" by @pastillesch - Rated T, Modern AU, Multi-chapter, Ongoing. "I'm dumping you" --Naruto blinked once. Twice. "But we're not even together". It was more a stress relief than anything romantic, really. A hobby one would say. And now it was time to search for a new hobby. Or at least a new partner for this kind of hobby.

-I am a total sucker for this type of size difference au. Like, it's just such a weird trope. It's just so weird. I love it. Makuro767 does a wonderful job with it!
"Love Is Not A Cage" by @nightowl27-writer - Rated E, Canon-Divergent AU, Multi-chapter, Ongoing. When Naruto comes back to his senses after the battle with Pein, the first thing he remembers are those baffling words she said just before she nearly died for him, and he NEEDS to hear them again. Will the truth set them free? Or are some confessions too much for the soul?
-that recent update killed me. In a good way. but oh man.
"Hinata (Mirror, Mirror)" from "Chicken Ramen for the Pervert's Soul" by @wickermayne - Rated E, Canon-Compliant, One-shot. Naruto rolled his eyes at the purchase asking why she needed it and complained about how much room it took up, but Hinata enjoyed modeling different dresses in front of it, loved how it let her see all the many different angles. And that seemed to keep Naruto quiet enough about the mirror.

So, I guess it's been months since I worked on this list. Because it's nearing the end of March 2024 now. And up at the top, apparently I was last working on this list in September 2023. And at that time, it had been "months" since the asker sent this. Well, here's the ones I've been reading recently:

-It's been awhile since I read an irredeemable Naruto, and Niya's not lying when she calls the characterization ruthless!!
"Prey" by @sessakag - Rated E, Modern/Gangs AU, Multi-chapter, Ongoing. Following a midnight chance encounter with Hinata Hyuuga, a smitten sociopath, Naruto Uzumaki, tries his hand at romance, determined to make her fall in love with him the only way he knows how.
-it's the mystery of Hinata's background that really fuels this piece for me. Icing on the cake is Naruto as a wonderfully sexy and dangerous stranger and the sexual tension between them that is absolutely exquisite.
"Paper Rings" by Its_Levioooosaa - Rated E, College/Soulmates AU, Multi-chapter, Ongoing. In a world where soulmates are found after a touch and after a brief moment of pain, resulting in a red loop circling the first knuckle of each person's pinky finger. Fating the two people together and leaving it up to them to decide what their relationship will be. Hinata had just stopped at her friends for a piece of pizza, little did she know that she'd be leaving with a soulmate.
-It's a cute premise and I can't wait to see what happens next! I love a good soulmate AU!
"Wanting More Than A Poolside View" by @bunny-hoodlum - Rated E, High School AU, Multi-chapter, Ongoing. Just a Sukumizu fetish scenario where Hinata is the target of a panty thief and recruits Naruto to investigate himself.
-I've been loving all of Bunny's updates this year, but I'm really hoping for an update on this one....or Narutoland haha, but I dunno what it is about High School NaruHina and their immaturity, it's just so fun!

You had always been Daddy's little girl. I mean, being the daughter of a famous actor, meant you had your fair share of privileges in and of itself. But Chris did almost anything you wanted, having started when you were a baby but now is continuing into your teenage years.
However despite the glitz and glamour that came with your father's profession, there was one thing you had never experienced – attending a Taylor Swift concert.
Your love for Taylor Swift's music was more than just a casual fan's adoration. Her songs had been the soundtrack to many of your memorable moments. When the opportunity to see her in concert came, you couldn't have been more excited.
Your father, knowing your passion for Taylor's music, had a surprise in store for you.
The day finally arrived, and you found yourself dressed in an Eras Tour worthy dress. Between the glitter on your face, sparkles in your hair, and rhinestones all throughout your outfit, you were totally ready to experience the concert of a lifetime.
Chris, however, did not meet the standards of appearance for this sort of occasion.
"Dad, you'll look like an idiot wearing just a t-shirt!" you explained.
"Y/N love, it's literally a Taylor Swift t-shirt," he countered, making you realize exactly what the problem was.
"Maybe it's not the shirt, but it's the lack of pizazz! Luckily for you, your daughter is an expert in that department! Follow me!" You say as you drag your father toward where all you store your makeup.
"Nope, not happening" he laughed as he realized where you were taking him.
"Pleaseeeee" you begged, knowing he can't ever be against what you want. "It's the experience of a lifetime, we need to go all out!!"
"Sorry but I don't think I need glitter on my face, the t-shirt is enough." his response surprised you, knowing that he's never lasted this long saying no to you.
Thank goodness you have a final trick up your sleeve that has a 100% success rate so far.
"If you won't do it for Taylor fucking Swift, do it for your beloved daughter!" which makes Chris groan, but only for a moment before he reluctantly agrees, and gives into to your request.
So there you are, using a spray glitter bottle in your dad's hair, with the sparkly 13 you had drawn on his hand.
If it's not for Taylor Swift, then there is still a 100% guarantee that Chris can't say no to his daughter.

This is mainly in the POV of Kakyoin bonding with the Duwang Gang and rest of Morioh's inhabitants. And Jotaro and Kakyoin largely act like little shits towards one another, but the author has promised a happy ending for these two, so I'll hold them up on that promise. You can really feel Jotaro's heartbreak, even if it's not explicitly stated, whenever Kakyoin screams and rages at him. It's a sad but extraordinary story so far. Just hurry up and kiss & make up already! xD

personally I think I feel like pretty mum would be either an alpha with beta tendencies or beta with alpha tendencies. She’s just so Mother and Lady that she has to have alpha somewhere. THE BEST SCENT OMG. She beats Chan in races, both human and wolf forms, allllll the time. Shares any catches she gets
kitten would be omega through and through. In my eyes, she is the definition of hyperfemininity. That wolf would want to be primped, preened, and adored. Minho’s connection with his wolf is still a little wonky but like when his omega looks and smells like that, I don’t know how he functions.

so, i have changed pretty mum's possible designation so many times.... for me she could be literally anything KJHSDFKFHJSDF but, for now, i have settled on omega with alpha tendencies. However, hers would present VERY differently to Autumn's. her alpha tendencies present mostly on her strong will, and in her leadership skills, more than in her "dominance", if that makes sense. she's very opinionated, and will call you out on your bullshit and do things her way all the time just because she wants them to be done right. like you said, she's very Mother, so of course she's a great leader, too.
now, that Mother-ness in her is also part of her omega qualities. she was just born to be pack mum, you know? and it kinda makes sense, considering she's Chris' true mate. even in this universe, they're soulmates, of course.
i do agree that her wolf form would probably be much bigger than the average omega, which is also part of her alpha traits. and also, because i think it could be a good parallel to her human body and her being plus-size/chubby/etc, y'know? it's such an important part of her character, i feel like it's good that it translates to her wolf form.

once i rated doctor who series 11 episodes and said what i thought and i said i might do that with other series as well and as im currently on series 4 on my rewatch, i think it's time for series 1 ranking. btw im a very positive person and im NOT a storyteller (tho i want to be) and my rating is like 90% based on Vibes and all this leads to me going 'I LOVE THIS!!' like 98% of the time lol jajfjk
but! lets begin my ranking of series 1 👍
1. the empty child/the doctor dances (1x9-10): im sure everyone knows why this is my favourite story. i LOVE it, we get jack harkness, we get doctor who horror, it's such a good story and im sure we all know that so i won't elaborate further
2. dalek (1x6) this episode is so good, i LOVE the scene with 9 and the dalek y'all know what i'm talking about, christopher eccleston slayed i love that scene so much, i adore rose too, this episode has some of my favourite rose moments, the way she was so kind and compassionate in the best way, i LOVED it, could talk so long about how great rose was in this does someone want to talk about that?? anyway my introduction to daleks and it works very well
3. the end of the world (1x2) i really like this story too, i love jabe and i was so sad when she died :( and cassandra is iconic ofc, i liked how rose talked with the plumber, i really like that moment guys. i loved the atmosphere and everything, just a really good episode imo
4. bad wolf/the parting of the ways (1x12-13) this is such a good finale, i loved nine's regeneration scene so much it's perfect, i like that we visit the same place we did in 1x7, and the side characters are good, the plot is good, what more can you ask for, really? i loved the scene on earth with rose and mickey and jackie when rose tries to explain why travelling with the doctor is so great, i loved billie piper's acting in that scene
5. boom town (1x11) i LOVED the scene with nine and margaret the slitheen dining, and i'm so happy mickey finally told rose that how she's treating him is unfair bcs it totally was!! i really like mickey and the way rose treated him made me so angry, like girl break up with him if you don't like him?? so yeah, im glad mickey got to say what he has to say. also the scene where jack, nine, rose and mickey are having chips is short but great and i'd 100% watch 45 minutes of them just having chips and talking i loved the domesticity so much
6. rose (1x1) i like the introduction to rose, the opening montage is great imo, i like the set design too, it feels very real, idk a really good way to introduce us to both rose and the doctor
7. the long game (1x7) i liked the side characters in this (except adam, he was annoying and also stupid af like girl no?? are you actually so stupid??) anyway, i liked the story and the characters except for adam 👍
8. aliens of london/world war three (1x4-5) i like this story, but it's not the best you know. i love harriet jones she's great and i enjoyed having mickey and jackie there and tbh on my first watch this is what got me going like "i think i'm gonna like this", not sure why, but i do like the plot. it definitely had some great moments and i like this story!!
9. father's day (1x8) ahhh i'm not the biggest fan of this episode tbh, i definitely liked it more on a rewatch but i'm still not the biggest fan. it's good, don't get me wrong, i enjoyed rose and her dad and it was a beautiful episode, but something didn't click idk. i think it might just be that i didn't like how rose saved her dad, i understand her, i would do the same, but somehow it still annoyed me a bit?
10. the unquiet dead (1x3) im not a fan of this episode personally. idk it had some fun moments but i'm just not a fan, sorry unquiet dead fans. to me personally it's just a bit boring and i didn't really get into the story, not even sure why. maybe it's the fact that i haven't read any dickens and having him there just doesn't work for me because of that? i dont know

2023 Writing Reflection
This is a chunky one, so forgive me! I write fic. Sometimes (most of the time) I write lots of fic. It's basically a personality trait at this point, so I may as well ~talk about the thing~
I've posted alllll my fics for the year now. Last year I tracked how much I wrote vs posted, but this year I stopped tracking how much I was writing when I realised I wasn't going to hit my goal, but as always I wrote a TON (and posted only a fraction).
My posted fic stats for the year are:
208k words posted
80 fics posted (88 chapters total (avg wc: 2.3k))
55+ different character perspectives
33 different romantic ships
49 different platonic ships
29 different fandoms
Longest fic: 13k words
Shortest fic: 214 words
I posted fewer words this year compared to last, but the same number of fics - the numbers of perspectives and platonic vs romantic ships were pretty close, and I wrote for a couple more fandoms than last year. The stuff I wrote was more spread out, too (more on that soon).
I didn't manage to finish anything super long this year, which is a shame and I hope I can change that next year. I like writing longfic, but w a full time job this year I haven't had the attention span. I have several projects I'm really deep into that are unfinished!
These are my cumulative vs 2023 ao3 stats - not gonna dwell on them a ton, but I'm coming up on the 1.7mil mark for fic published on ao3 which is exciting!! I also find it helpful (to me) to reflect on stats every so often bc engagement stats are "fake". By fake, I mean I wrote good stuff I'm proud of, but largely in fandoms that don't read the kind of fic I was writing. People who've known me maybe 3/4 years will know that I've worked REALLY HARD to detach worth from engagement, and I think I can say I've succeeded now!!
The following images are from my ao3 'top 10' for all the fics I wrote this year. First up is Relationship tag, which is pretty funny because I only wrote four relationships more than once....and two of them were a flavour of Shalvis. Shoutout to Handers for being up there two years running btw.
My T>G>M rating distribution is almost exactly the same as last year, which is a thing?? I continue to be predictable. My relationship type distribution is weighted more gen, less m/m this year, but the rest are basically the same as before.
I wrote less FE this year compared to last year by a significant margin, and a bit more Dragon Age, but Xenoblade remained a mainstay (I wrote more Xenoblade this year than last, actually). Also interesting is I wrote more evenly distributed amongst FE games!
Anders is once again blorbo of the year as my most frequently written character, but written a lot less than last year - I wrote a wider variety of characters this year in general, actually! Shoutout to not one but TWO of my Dragon Age OCs (four of the five instances of Male Lavellan and all of the instances of 'Surana', which is an incorrectly wrangled tag for Nonbinary Surana) being in my top 10 this year.
Below is my top 10 additional tags for the year - they're all pretty close together still, with no standouts I'm always writing. Interestingly, fluff is not my favourite thing to write but it still just kinda happens! More on trans characters later (I did a comprehensive analysis for myself ahaha).
My 2023 in trans characters: I wrote 20 fics with trans characters, 21 with nonbinary characters, and 34 fics with trans/nonbinary characters total, which is a nice 42% of all fics I wrote this year. I wrote 52 trans/nonbinary depictions total, which is transing one gender per week (!!). Of those 52, there were 40 different characters I depicted as trans. 44 depictions were headcanons, 8 were canonically trans characters! This came to 23 trans men, 23 nonbinary people, and 6 trans women.
There were only six characters I wrote as trans more than once:
A(lvis) - 5 times. This was a chara who got revealed as canon nonbinary this year!
Adrel (my nonbinary Dragon Age OC) - 4 times
Alear - 3 times
Kagetsu, Shulk, and Byleth - 2 times each
Overall I had a really good writing year :) not in fic, I wrote a whole (!!?!??!) fantasy short story collection. I'm going to redraft + maybe more next year!! I'm really excited about it. I do have some goals for next year though - to finish some of my dang wips that have been sitting around forever, for one, and to write more for myself. I wrote a LOT of request fills and exchange pieces this year. Next year I want to write more thoughtfully + for me.

But like... why, though?
I've had my suspicions about cell towers being hazardous to health for a few years now and felt convinced enough to not bother researchin' it for confirmation. Now that I'm blah blah blah, I decided to actually bother. Since it got kinda heavy, I had to ask myself if I should put in hella more effort creatin' a damn research report of sorts for y'all asses present the info for others like it's a damn PSA. And my conscious won. T~T
But like... what, though?
A base station (aka: cell phone tower) is that shit you see everywhere but never notice. It's usually tall af and has panel antennas on it. It's "used for the transmission and reception of the radio signals between the mobile phones and the network." The problem with 'em is the electromagnetic field (EMF) their equipment can give off... for half a mile. 😐
In short, they've been found to cause health problems. Like cancer. 🤷🏿♂️
Fun fact, panel antennas can be installed on the roof/side of buildings that may be directly across the street from someone's workplace... with the antenna at their elevation. 🤷🏿♀️

FCC.gov’s conclusion seems to be that they’re generally safe for civilian life as long as you don’t get close and aren’t directly in front of the antenna’s trajectory (don’t climb a fuckin’ tower or enter those rooms/buildings). The Government Accountability Office (GAO) prepared a [2012] report of its investigation into safety concerns related to mobile phones. Safe Distance from Cell Towers…
It is also difficult to predict a safe distance from cell towers. For example, cell towers are designed to transmit most of their radio frequency (RF) energy horizontally. Some areas below the tower may have lower levels than locations farther away that are more in line with the vertical height of the antennas.
The exposure from a cell tower will depend on the type of antennas, the number of antennas, how much the antennas are actually being used, the time of day, etc. The distance needed to reduce exposures down to the General Public Precautionary Level of 100 microwatts per meter squared (μW/m²) is often around a quarter of a mile (1320 feet) or more. Due to the uncertainty, on-site testing with a broadband RF test meter is strongly recommended.
A German study reported that people living within 400 meters (1312 feet) of cell towers had over 3 times the normal rate for new cancers (City of Naila 2004). In an Israeli study, the relative risk for cancer was about 4 times greater within 350 meters (1148 feet) of the cell tower (Wolf et al. 1997). Based on findings like these, a minimum safety distance of 1/4 mile (1320 feet) might be considered prudent.

Like it’s def. not *my* version of the theory ofc, but *a* version! it’s the various creator’s version. but like good for them. and omg o m g.

and rambling about why i get emotional about, the idea, at least my version (i don’t want to put any weird pressures on the SMP creators or their version) and why i get emotional about the story too.

so, like, the crack idea (LOSAR’s version) is the idea that all the SMP roleplay servers are linked in a multiverse, though quite loosely. And also wrapped into my thoughts or ideas are some vague stuff about admin powers and mod powers and viewers - (and watcher / listener lore from Evo and 3rd Life being loosely tied to that)
so the main crack idea that’s kinda grown into this emotional thing, at least for me, (and it is Crack), is the whole joke bit video where Grian and Tommyinnit meet up, aka “I Tried to get Grian to Swear”, also known as “the one where they have a building competition” and also get weirdly posessively desirous about Mumbo Jumbo....

Anyway, the idea i had is it actually seems to fit well with other stuff with their HC and Dream SMP roleplay characters, and like they actually play off eachother surprisingly well there. And it’s a chance for both groups to see how “the other half” lives. and they have fun.

So the background of these people is that, oh boy, Tl:dr the relevant parts here is that HermitCraft SMP where Grian usually plays is.... you could call it upbeat, cheerful, and pranksterish but friendly, but not romantic at all. Pretty much anything of that aspect has to be Teen rating. And that includes explicit “straight” stuff too, btw. it’s like a friend molecule. Whereas the Dream SMP, where Tommy’s from, does have that aspect, many gay, straight, poly, marriages. and a lot of passion and genuine caring. also to put what you heard about bluntly, it may not be the worst.... Dream SMP is a hellhole. This is just to set the scene if you know nothing.
So anyway, (in the joke video i referenced, and in my story) this is a time when the two groups meet. And see how they live, and swap stories, and yes build a pair of cottagecore cottages for winner’s clout.
And (in my story at least) they see things in eachother. Grian sees how scarred Tommy is (and how annoying and weird to be around) but also how *passionate* and willing to express how he feels about Grian and Mumbo Jumbo, even if it’s in a little bit of a yandere stan way lol. (understatement)
While Tommy sees in Grian and Mumbo.... one: how absolutely power hungry they are. Like they really like to influence things, really. and that they are inhuman. And well... on the Dream SMP, neither fares very well really. If you’re power hungry (like Dream) you become everyone’s enemy. and there’s so many inhumans/part humans on the DSMP, but g d do they go through some hard times because of it, and can’t even talk to it with anyone. Ranboo is part enderman and has to deal with Follish killing other endermen in front of him and rain and snow burning hi,m. Philza is winged, but has his ability to fly stripped due to injury almost immediately upon joining the server. And yet - to Tommyinnit’s wise eyes - Mumbo and Grian are liked and respected on HermitCraft. wtf.
And ofc, the contest ends with Grian winning and taking Tommy’s prized elytra (a pair of minecraft wings) as a prize

So just like Dream XD is Dream in admin form - a God in the minecraft world.... the two go off into Admin Mode (which side note, in my story is Watcher Mode for Grian)
And they go talk to Mumza.
And For the Third Life/Last Life/Double Life series - Grian institutes a loooot more passion. and also a LIMITED CANONICAL LIFE SYSTEM like they have in THE DREAM SMP. And finally gets a chance to cling to Scar and Mumbo (but at what cost? “I don’t feel too good about this”)
And for the ORIGINS SMP - Admin Tommyinnit, Tommy XD, institutes unlimited lives, sure, that dcan’t be understated, but also (maybe more importantly) free use of powers or abilities. yes! Elytras, shulkers, ender pearls, teleportation. Just like on HermitCraft. and also * the ability to talk about all this stuff *
(notice any patterns on what species people chose on origins? Tubbo starts as the most highly armed and armored species in the game, Phil has elytra wings, Ranboo is an enderman, Will a ghost, Niki was surrounded by fire, now she’s surrounded by water, Jack had to claw his way out of hell after dying in one of Tommy’s stupid wars on the DSMP and always resented him for it, now he starts in hell on the O SMP and has Tommy come to see him and help him get back.)
Anyway, and Tommy is an Avia, who doesn’t have full elytra and can’t fly but has (cute little) vestigial wings.
And who’s favorite jokingly annoyed phrase is “Phiiiil, i wanna fly like you phil!”
And Tommy’s also said that unlike the Dream SMP the disc thing doesn’t apply here.

On Dream SMP, Tommy gives his music discs away to Dream ( XD ) for everyone’s freedom. and constantly wants them back.
On ORIGINS SMP, planeswalker Admin Tommyinnit XD Gives his elytra to Grian (Watcher) for the ideas of the Origins SMP. And is like “I wanna fly like you Phil.”
(because if you notice, i think part of the “Tommy” personality in any universe, besides being selfish, and talking about girls, and talking shit to ppl, is being willing to give up things he cares about for his friends ).... (and oh boy, grian will take anything, anything that isn’t nailed down. )
But deep down I think he’s a little “happy” with both cases.
and i know this is a different multiverse thing. And i just like multiverses and planeswalkers in general.
But this is part of why i’m emotional about it, if i am.

(part 1) Hi, I warn you that my message will be a bit long. So I will divide it. I totally agree with you regarding what you said about nsfw things not being tagged. It absolutely pisses me off when they tell minors not to get close to that content and then literally slam it in their face! Or even on Ao3, as you well know there are ratings. I can't bear when people don't know how to put them... I have always interpreted the G and T ratings as sfw (the T can be a little suggestive, but not nsfw)
this is exactly it!! in my opinion, smut fanfic is all about consent, and not everyone want to see that on their dash/in the fic they read.
you're absolutely right about the ao3 ratings btw, i checked the ao3 content rating system, and this is what each level is supposed to be:
so by that, a fic with an innuendo or two, or a fade-to-black kiss scene that implies smut would be considered T, because that kind of stuff shows up in a lot of pg-13 movies, but something with more heavy petting or some partial nudity would be M, and full smut would be E, and that's always the philosophy I've used when rating my fics.
in my opinion, "nsfw" is not a moral judgement, but rather a factual appraisal. to tag something as "nsfw" does not mean that it is shameful or inherently wrong, it merely means that it is explicit and you wouldn't want to have that on your screen at work! i think it's especially important when it comes to authors who take requests and post them using ask posts, because you can't put the content of an ask under a "read more." it then becomes doubly important for people to tag those posts correctly, because some of the asks people get can be pretty graphic.
i've unfollowed people who don't tag their stuff as nsfw (because i can't really tell them what to do in their space), but fics are posts that reach far outside a person's circle of followers, so i think people need to be more mindful of that when they tag and format. tumblr's recommendations algorithm is crap, i have every variety of smut tag under the sun blocked and i still get suggested posts that are nothing but smut.
on tumblr i've been burned too many times by surprise smut/things not tagged correctly, that i rarely read a fic on here unless i know the person who wrote it (or like it was for my writing challenge, where i specify no smut allowed). thankfully i've never run into a problem on ao3 where things are tagged/rated wrong, but i would absolutely do the same thing as you, just gently let the author know so they can fix it. like you said, it's really not that hard to tag things correctly, and it sucks that something so simple is basically ignored by so much of fandom in general.

July Wrap-Up
Hey y'all, it's been a while hasn't it? To be honest, I planned on posing a June Wrap-up + July TBR but by the time I got around to doing it, it was halfway through June and It felt wrong. This month I plan on doing better with posting now that I have settled into the rhythm of my life.
July was a great reading month for me. By the end of June I had caught up with my reading goal, and this month I've been consistently about 1 book ahead (BTW follow me on Goodreads!)
In total, I read 5 books this month, which isn't as many as other people but I am rather proud of the progress I made as well as the quality of the books I managed to read this month. The reads this month definitely lead up to an exciting August TBR. Without further ado, let's get into it.
To All The Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han
I read The Summer I Turned Pretty in the later weeks of June and while it certainly wasn't the greatest work of literature, it was a fun read. After scrolling through some reviews and watching videos about those who read romance/contemporary books more than I, I heard that this was the preferred Jenny Han book series. I have to say that I agree. While this book DEFINITELY read like an older YA romance novel, it was thoroughly entertaining. I think both Josh and Peter were thoroughly boring as love interests. They were just so regular. It was still entertaining to read and I had a fun time.

Where The Crawdads Sing By Delia Owens
After seeing the trailers for the movie that came out in Mid-July I thought to myself "Ah crap, now I have to read it." I remember when this book came out and my local library deemed it a book club read. I don't know about y'all's local library, but mine tends to pick not great reads for their book club. So needless to say, My expectations were kind of low but holy crap I absolutely love this book. Not only was the writing absolutely gorgeous, but I was actually rooting for Kya and the twist I did not see coming. I had theories about it and my theory could not have been farther from what actually happened. However, now I don't want to see the movie anymore because I don't think it will live up to how I feel about the book. It came full circle and I probably won't see the movie until it becomes available on Amazon prime or something.

Hot Under His Collar By Andie J. Christopher
I saw this while scrolling through my library and internally "This looks awful, it's going in the pile." I burned through this book in about 2 days and while it entertained me it was...not good. It was fun to read, the plot was entertaining and I don't think I've seen this kind of priest/church member romance in mainstream media (not including those odd Amish romances your mom reads) besides the show Fleabag. The characters didn't feel like they had a lot of chemistry but it ended up on my "trash in a good way" shelf on Goodreads because of how entertaining it was to me.

The Grace Year by Kim Ligget
I technically started reading this book in mid-June through the audiobook which I checked out through Libby but I returned It because I just wasn't listening to it enough. I ended up re-checking it out later in July and finally finishing it. My first comment on this book is that this isn't a great YA novel. There were very graphic descriptions of violence and gore. I am not complaining but I think that Kim Ligget would have made this an EXCELLENT adult novel. Beyond that, I'm not sure how I feel about this book. Tierney was kind of annoying to listen to (or maybe that was just the audiobook narrator) yet I still managed to root for her. I wish more of the social dynamics would have been explored and maybe some better explanations of the history of this society. The twist came out of nowhere and didn't make much sense and the ending left me guessing what happened (and not in a good way). I'm sure the author did that intentionally, but it just didn't work for me.

A Good Girl's Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson
Technically, I finished this book just as August 1st rolled into the year but I'm still counting it as a July read. I picked this up randomly and I guess that I need to do that with books more because I absolutely adored this book. I'm not usually a thriller reader and especially not a YA thriller reader. I absolutely loved Pippa and this book kept me entertained from start to finish. In other thrillers that I have read, the first 1/3 of the novel tends to provide background information and character development/info dumping. This novel added leads, new theories and it kept me intrigued in the story. I had a few theories thanks to the plethora of details the reader gets yet I couldn't have guessed the twists, yes plural. In the last 50 pages, there was this massive twist and I thought, oh that is kind of underwhelming but then another twist came right after practically slapping me in the face. Do you know that meme of Sheldon Cooper where he says "I don't need sleep, I need answers"? that was me for the last 100 pages of this book and I can't wait to read the rest of the series (although I'm not sure how it is a series).

I'm so glad that July was such a great reading month for me. After the reading month that was June, I am glad that I actually enjoyed (most) of the books that I read this month. August TBR coming later this week, originally planned to put it in this post but I'd like to go to bed. Day Three- Future
“Uhhhh… yessss… Beka, keep going, I’ll love you forever.” The words were slurred and muffled, Yuri laid out prone across their bed like a feast of toned flesh, all cream and gold.
“I thought you already promised to love me forever.” Fingers ran down Yuri’s scalp, dragged through damp flaxen hair, onto to warm skin.
“MmmmmmmMMMMM… right there… then I’ll love you forever twice over, this life and the one after.”
“Just those two?” Otabek murmured, amused, lips moving softly against Yuri’s bare skin. He barely suppressed a shiver.
“If there are more after that … ohhh, yeahhhh, oh God …. We’ll renegotiate then.” Yuri panted, words mewled and whimpered into the quiet dusk.
“Renegotiate?” Warms hands spread over, across skin, in languid movements, palms traversing the same length in slow, firm, drugging repetition.
“Ah, nnngh, Christ Beka your hands….” The words were outright moaned, the muscles in Yuri’s hips tensing as Otabek pressed knuckles into Yuri’s muscle.
“Renegotiate,” Otabek prompted again, increasing the pressure of his hands fractionally, fingers pressing just that much more in.
Yuri’s breathing stuttered, ragged, unsettled and loud, and Otabek slowed down; it’d do no good to end things now. “If, if I got to keep you for two lifetimes, two forevers, might as well make it eternity.” A slight squeeze, and as Yuri’s breathing slowed, “Infinite lifetimes.”
Otabek’s hands still, and before Yuri can stop it a bereft noise spills out of his throat, trying to make Otabek’s hand move again. Otabek only flexes his fingers, quiet against the background hum of their home. “Infinite forevers.”
Yuri nods his head against the blankets, glad that no one can see how red he is. “Every forever, with you.”
Those hands, previously simply flexing on his hips tighten and Yuri finds himself on his back, blushing, startled and pinned in place by his husband’s body and fierce gaze. “Beka?!”
Anything more he might have been planning on saying was quickly cut off via liberal application of a hungry, yet unhurried exploration of his mouth via Otabek’s. It wasn’t worth fighting the man when he kissed like that, and Yuri relaxed into the familiar-yet-thrilling sensations.
His fingers grasped at the fine hairs Otabek had tied back, pulling the man closer and bringing that delicious, bruising pressure to his hips. He let his eyes drift shut and gave over to giving as good as he got.
It seemed like an eternity later when Otabek disengaged from Yuri, chest heaving and thumb sweeping across Yuri’s kiss-bruised lips. His chocolate gaze softened, eyes crinkling in that subtly ecstatic expression he wore, it seemed, every time he got Yuri in private, alone for the quiet ways he expressed his careful adoration. The one that screamed what did I ever do to deserve you? to whomever cared to look.
Yuri stroked down through Otabek’s newly mused hair, drawing him swayingly closer so that their noses brushed and their breaths mingled. He pressed a quick fleeting kiss to Otabek’s lips, then let his overwhelmed husband bury his face in the crook of his neck. It was nice to feel their hearts racing in tandem, and nothing was ever going to be better than this. Except ….
“You know this doesn’t get you out of finishing my backrub right?”
