A gloved hand pointed to the camera, to which the four year old on Ghost’s hip giggled and waved, “Hello!”

He set her down on the floor, out of view of the camera but he could still clearly hear her run out of the room. His hand went up to fix his mask as he leaned out of view, taking a few moments before appearing back in view.

He held the two month old on his arm, moving to kneel in front of the camera to show her face. His fingers were massive compared to her little arm as he pulled it up to wave her hand at the camera.

“Say hi to your uncles, Mellie.”

The little one stuck out her bottom lip and cooed, eyes staring at the screen - just like Winnie did when she was younger. He smiled under the mask, one of his hands gently pet her head.

“Good one, princess. Off to bed then, yeah?”

Hey Kin! I’m the anon who sent in the foxboy!childe ask and I wanted to add onto what was said before! So after the litter is born, Childe becomes tasked with “translating” the babies actions/speech patterns for you since you’re not a fox hybrid! You end up learning what the shape and movements of the fox babies tail/ears means from him; and when the babies start vocalizing, I assume they might yelp/growl, and exhibit fox like characteristics that Childe helps decode to you 🥺 and you learn how to show your puppies how humans express affection as well as the fox hybrids do too!

childe being a translator for your babies bc you don't really understand them yet it so adorable :(((( i imagine that the babies besides from the first 3 weeks period where they're basically blind and helpless, after that they are much more 'independent' than human babies since they're hybrids! like move around much quicker and efficient on all fours, their tiny ears and tails twitching sporadically and the most important aspect-the noises!

after the birth they only let out tiny pips which even you gathered that it was their way of asking for food but then as the weeks flew by their 'vocabulary' expanded bit by bit and quickly turned into them making mewls, pips, tiny hisses and yelps and some of them even tried their best at growling! childe laughed at his babies attempts at intimidating someone; their tiny toothless mouths and still soft claws were just too adorable to be intimidating as he often said.

and you as their momma were quite distressed! you could gather the basics when your puppies were hungry or cold or wanted to cuddle, but more complicated 'requests' were still tricky to understand which often led to you feeling terrible, even questioning if you were fit to be a mommy for them at all. luckily, childe being so in-tune with your emotions quickly sensed that his mate was in distress and immediately comforted you and explained that it was quite normal that as a human you wouldn't really understand 'pure' fox speech, especially since you only had to work with baby yelps and whines which were often confusing and intelligible even for hybrid folks, much like baby 'speech' was just gibberish for humans and their kids.

still, since he was a fox hybrid, your mate volunteered to translate you your babies 'talking' as good as he could and he guaranteed you that you'd learn their speech in no time and you were a great momma anyway~<3

and so, after another few weeks of childe decoding your little ones noises, you became almost an expert in understanding their widening vocalization! you really couldn't be happier when watching your growing babies as they played around the grassy clearing in front of your den together with childe, laughing at their antics and never feeling prouder when your tiny daughter crawled up to you and from her quiet whine you understood right away that she wanted to stay and cuddle with her parents <3

When i was a child i thought that Beckett and Norrington were the same person. But when i had watched the third movie i was really confused, because there were two Norrington (on my mind) and i was like wtf x)

After a while I stopped question things there and was like "ok, fine", because i remembered dead men, sea goddess etc. But i still thought, that Beckett is cooler version of Norrington :D (the reason was wig and death scene) (Norrington and cooler Norrington (who is Beckett) meme)

(on my mind they were alternative demention's versions or something like that, i don't remember this clearly)

(After rewatching films in adult age i think Beckett is my favourite character and i am really glad to see you drawing him💜🤧)

back in my days, i sucked at recognising faces (and still do, i have no idea why), so i tended to remember people by first their hair colour, then their clothes. Unfortunately: British Guys.

to tell this tale, i first have to reveal my favourite character from POTC. contrary to popular belief, it's Norrington, the guy i have like 3 drawings of, and not Beckett, who i have an entire sketchbook dedicated to, who i draw on foggy windows and have entire albums full of reference pics, the guy whose actor i stalked across movies (he's a close second favourite and i'm thinking of giving mate a promotion).

anyways, the first movie i was like, "that british seems pretty niceoMG HE HAS A BOW TIE. i'm following him throughout the movie now. he's the one w the white wig and blue coat, right?"

second movie rolls around and "oh look :DDD the Nice British is back! he looks smaller? and strangely happy?"

then my obsession with the movies grew and i began to notice the differences between them. my theory concerning my lack of art of norrington is probably bc i liked him too much and didn't want to mess him up, so i turned to a look-alike alternative, but then the ">:3" grew on me.

and frrrrr what’s up with these exes here? are you guys okay? i thankfully don’t think i ever had a situation like that with anyone, ex or not, and if i did, i def repressed it. but i always remember this situation a friend of mine was in. so she was my bestie for like all of high school (she dumped me for the church💔 my religious trauma fr) and she was in a band and one of her mates introduced her to this other guy who played guitar (conveniently, he was also really really good friends with my current bf at that time). anyways we were like 17 (my bf and i) and she was a year younger so 16. and we were just finishing our list of college applications, they saw each other randomly bc he auditioned for a band that she was in and he started texting her a lot and offering to take her to band practice (thankfully her parents were like overprotective so it never happened). mind you, he was born in 95 and she was 00. so if we were in like grade 11 or 12 he was like well into uni. so, she tells me that she’s going to this uni like three hours away from where i was going. and i’m like all happy and supportive and whatever and she’s just like “oh and _______ told me that he studies like 15minutes away from my campus so he said that i could go to his apartment and we could read comics” and i was just like 🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩and i told her that that was absolutely insane and reading comics def didn’t mean reading comics. so she got kinda mad and we stopped talking about him. and like a year later (she ended up not going to that uni), i stayed at her house once and she told me that he turned out to be a super sketchy guy. and she’s always been this really really physically beautiful person like main visual fr, but soooo naive, and shit like this happed so frequently. she once told me that in middle school, she was kinda dating a guy from 12th grade so she was like 13 and he was like 17-18🚩🚩🚩 so yeah, men suck. i’m thankful to have never experienced something like that or anything but im sure that my rbf and the paranoia and resistance my parents inflicted on me in terms of men helped.

Honest question from a fellow Azul fan, wtf do you think is under Azul's tentacles? Because normally there's a beak down there, but I highly doubt he has one. Is it just smooth? Is there an ink sack in addition to releasing ink from his face? Is it where he releases his "waste?" If so does that mean "parts" are there too? Does he have the typical human/mermaid situation going on or does he have the "special" tentacle male octopi do? Both? It's been haunting me ever since I saw his mer form.

First off, don't be sorry 🥺 I actually found the ask entertaining and pretty unique! Sorry it took so long.

I'm putting my answer under cut, though, since not everyone might be comfy with the topic. I will say as a general reminder that I am an SFW blog and don't entertain NSFW asks, but I'll still take this ask since it leans more onto biology and speculations.

Okay, now that you're here, let's address the first question: What is under Azul's tentacles?

Some people have thought that he has a beak under the tentacles, aka his second mouth. Yes, in octopuses, there is an ink sac near the anus area (but inside his body) where ink is produced. And since I said anus area, then yes, we can say that that is where Azul excretes. (Lawdy this is weirdly invasive to say)

The short answer I'll give you is this: I think under his tentacles is an anus, and he still has an ink sac, but he has no beak.

The long answer?

Here's the thing we have to take note of: Azul is a mer, not a full octopus. He has a human upper body, which includes a mouth. Assuming Little Mermaid's events took place around ~200 years before TWST"s story (which is set in contemporary era), that means octopus merfolk already go pretty far back. Thus, this means that that is a lot of time for the octopus mer species to evolve and change.

You probably heard in your biology class this theory called the theory of evolution by natural selection, made by Charles Darwin. The most rudimentary explanation I can provide is that the organisms whose traits ensure their survival in an environment will have more offspring than organisms with traits that don't ensure survival. Therefore, there is more of a chance for the former to produce offspring with the same traits as the parent.

Part of the evidences of this theory is this funky thing called vestigial organs. Basically, it's organs that have become useless over time because the species found no need for it. When the species finds no need for the organs, they weaken and/or disappear with each generation.

Let's go back to octopus mers then. They have a human upper body, including a mouth that has a pretty powerful jaw. So it is safe to say that the beak for octopus mers eventually had no use and slowly disappeared as the species evolved.

However, with the anus and ink sac, well octopus mers don't have a human bottom half (and therefore no human butt), so the hole under all the tentacles serves as the anus. The ink sac is honestly the one I'm most unsure about, but the reason why octopuses dispel ink is to distract predators and make their escape. The ink also serves to propel the octopus to swim faster. To this day, Coral Sea's social environment is still pretty vague, but there is the implication that it isn't as nice as the social environment on land. So it's possible that Azul has the ink sac still.

Now, onto the second question: Does Azul have the "special" tentacle?

Well 🤔 I don't see why not. Mer biology gets pretty funky when it comes to This, but each species evolves differently. Fish mers probably underwent the funky human/mer thing, while octopus mers were probably like, "lol wut" while flexing their one tentacle. It's important to also remember that male mers are built to mate with female mers, so whatever keeps the species thriving. 😂

Sorry I let it sit for a bit because it's a bit similar feeling as when new teacher asks you to say few words about yourself and you promptly forget everything there is and half the class then goes with 'my hobby is sleeping' :D (real thing that happened, including me of course:P)

sooo.... hehe, why don't use this for a bit of rant (sorry)

1. I have no irl friends outside of family (which sucks majorly)

(I changed school at the edge of puberty and feels like I haven't recovered ever since - had 1 or 2 friends at high school and none since then.)

2. For tenth birthday I chose my present - 1000 pcs. puzzle just to see if I could do it. Turns out I could, with the help of family, and then several times by my own (different puzzles of course.)

3. I am apparently "interested in ideas"

Does this sound so pretentious and insufferable to you? Well, good news, you're not alone. That is something that was told to me with a straight face.

Ohooo I wanted to rant about this for the longest time. Sorry.

So, in the last year of high school we were made to take this personality/iq test which consisted of millions of questions that kept repeating themselves apparently trying to catch you lying. Which offended me massively along with the fact that the very first question was 'tell something that is important to know about yourself'. Which again, teenage me was offended - if you want to asses me, analyze me, then figure it yourself, duh. So I am sitting there looking at blank page, chancing side look at the class mate who's writing - I kid you not - two full pages of who knows what.

Anyway. Those test were supposed to help us with choosing school/career after high school. Which, you guessed it, did nothing of the sort for me. After the tests were evaluated, several days later, we had a meeting with the dude - still not sure who he was. Some kind of psychiatrist, psychologist maybe? Maybe not, who knows. And this is what he tells me.

That I am "interested in ideas". And I am sitting there bit anxious, 'cause duh, you're supposed to tell me what to do with life and I am immediately stunned, slowly realizing that this isn't going to help me to choose school, thinking to myself who isn't? Like c'mon.

So I say OK. Or good perhaphs.

What is that even supposed to mean? Interested in ideas. Pff.

And this is not where it ends. Do you want to know what more he tells me?

That I am "cold".

I kid you not. He tells me I am cold.

So here I am, saying OK or equivalent of it, 'cause what the hell you're supposed to do in such a situation. And that's probably not the reaction he's going for, because he immediately starts defending himself as if I accused him of something. Which I did not. He starts telling me that that's not what he himself is saying, that's what my test is saying, that that's how people perceive me.

(Which, he might not be entirely wrong in hindsight. Sigh.)

But really? Wtf dude? Fuck you. Fuck you. Fuck you for ever thinking this is OK to tell to teenage girl. Fuck you. Even years later - fuck you.

(At any given moment I am like 5 seconds from crying and you tell me I'm cold? wtf? I am awkward. When I don't know how to react - which is often - I just don't. React. Fuck you, man.)

Anyway, I thought this is where I'll stop but - ah, whatever. I'm gonna spill all the beans. Cause this whole meeting was certainly an experience.

So anyway, on the test, one of the questions was - circle what careers you're interested in. So cue me circling military career among the others. (Mind you, I'm not complete idiot, these are the times of peace, when everything looks OK and any conflict is just a bad dream.)

Single reason for it is - they retire early. I am not working at this point but I am pretty sure I don't even want to like ever, so if I have to, it should be the shortest possible time, right? They retire at what - like forty? Some of them choose to work for longer because they are bored. Can you imagine? So that's my thought process behind it.

And the dude goes, there you circled military, it doesn't really check out with the rest, why you did that. And because I am an idiot at last, I say because when you want to throw over a government you need military :D And he goes, hm, yes, interested in ideas...

So anyway, I'm pretty sure they still have that record on me somewhere :D

(But tbh I am still kinda proud of my non-reaction when he told me I'm cold. Kinda wish I was this sassy on purpose and not just awkward but well, I certainly do hope the dude got the same whiplash from meeting me as I got from him. )
