It's really strange for me that I don't feel that sad about the news and the fact that it's almost sure Daniel won't have a seat next year. I thought it would make depressed but it seems like it doesn't.

I was preparing myself for this and I think it was a good thing to do. I'm not saying I'm happy for the news, but it's so bad to see him not perform as he used to and being broken down, I think it's better for him to have a break and maybe be a reserve driver or anything he wants to be.

I choose happy and mentally healthy non-F1 driver Daniel over sad and broken F1 driver Daniel.

Also, a side note: I think the fact that Nyck probably has a seat helps me with this situation, because after his result in Monza I started to like him and I hoped for a seat for him in case Daniel won't have one. Nyck seems to be sympathetic and I feel like he can save me from being down (because of Daniel won't be there).

Hello hello!! I can never get over your stuff and this time I’m here for a mash up :D

I am a girl who goes by she/her personally but I genuinely don’t care if people get my pronouns wrong. Call me a he and I would still respond. Though I wouldn’t correct anyone despite being proud that I am a girl. I am Hispanic but despite my strict culture I am very open to anyone and will welcome anyone with open arms. Any gender, background, looks, Even people who want to try to change for the better are welcome. I have dark brown/black (I don’t know depends on who you ask) that goes down to my lower back. But I am trying to grow it longer. My hair is always on a side braid on my left side and it’s only down during special occasions. I also have brown eyes with long eyelashes. I reach to a height of 5’4 and still hit my head, arms and legs on everything despite being average height. I really don’t enjoy getting angry and because of that it has been said by other people that I have a lot of patience. Wayyy too much patience apparently. I can just happily stand there while someone throws insult after insult and I would not do anything about it, and will wait until the end of the world if someone wants to tell me something but doesn’t have the guts to do it. I will wait. Somebody spilled something on me on purpose, don’t worry I always wear an undershirt just in case a clothing malfunction happens :D it’s really hard for me to get angry as I prefer to calmly talk through my way from tough situations. I really dislike holding on to a strong reliable image that people will put onto themselves to either his trauma or just to show there’s nothing to worry, because in the end of the day you need someone to cry on. I am more than willing to be that person can rely on without worrying about their strong person image. I will not tell a soul what happened until given permission too. I am extremely loyal and hold the people I love extremely close to my heart. Tell me a really private secret because I accidentally found out, you can torture me until I die and I will still not say a word. Having a really tuff living situation, stay at my place. Anything my friends give me I have cherish and kept safe for many years. Give me a rock and I will still love that rock to death. Just because it came from someone I love. I always keep a look out but not just for my friends but strangers too. My friends will complain that I keep disappearing and when they find me I am helping a stranger with their stuff. It’s really hard to avoid things when you have perfect vision. Thought I have a bad habit of undermining that things i do. I have a large passion for art but in my mind my art is the most mediocre art out there. I am pretty skinny and have a decent appearance, but in my mind I am not pretty. But I am fine with that. But sadly enough I do suffer from anxiety and with social anxiety. I will start fucking shaking if a situation goes wrong and its my fault. I have become non verbal in situations I am extremely nervous in because I can feel my voice cracking in fear so I mostly depend on body language. I’m slowly getting better at handling it by my self. It’s a work in progress. I am an artist at heart and not just with one medium but with all kinds of mediums. This leads me to fixing all kinds of things for people which I still enjoy in the end. I don’t mind loud people but don’t speak up on me and suddenly start yelling cause I will jump. I adore kids and will take care of any kids who need it. I often prefer to show my affection in physical touch like hugs, hand holding, or just doing a funny dance because we hear music in the background. I am traditional when it comes to my culture because the only food I know how to make is traditional Hispanic foods. I’m not kidding. But I love learning about new things.

so I’m not sure if this is a sort of ask you’d be able to help with.

I’m very much a believer in mundane before magic. Things like do I have a headache from the lights or is the energy bad in a room? yknow

Anyway- in my head I know it’s silly, and that it’s just my hormones from being on my period- but a part of me thinks that’s it a bit of an interesting coincidence that the peak of my period was on the solar eclipse. This month I’m a few weeks off than regular and it sucked wayyy worse than usual. I was running hot all day and the eclipse was awesome but at night I had a bad fever. I was feeling my emotions worse than normal.

And- again here’s the part that I doubt the most/ think it’s probably just my brain making it up- I cannot for the life of me stop dreaming and daydreaming and thinking about this person I’ve not seen before. Now I’m no stranger to dabbling in more casual manifestation and attraction of friends and good opportunities. I’ve prayed to different gods or left offerings while asking for a friend or someone who could be a partner. The god I’ve been recently making offerings for and researching is a lesser known one from antiquity. Very much fertility and weather- I wonder if now my periods will just be worse since starting my worship lol.

In the back of my head I sorta wanted to do something on the eclipse anyway. It’s not a specific person, but I can’t stop thinking about this gorgeous person. It started when my period started but it’s continued after it. Again this is where I doubt the most since duh I just keep thinking about my ideal guy etc, but, I also had some weird dreams, a lot of imagery of Set from kemetism and birds and this person all jumbled together. Plus while out and about I saw a lot more Egyptian imagery and birds and romantic symbols and shit. It’s just in the very back of my head that I’m thinking maybe my past manifesting/spell work efforts are gonna pay off. Or maybe even someone is doing something and attracting an energy and I happen to be more sensitive to it. Idk just weird coincidences that have been irking me.

Sorry if this ended up being a weird ramble but I really wanted to write out how I was feeling and thought fuck it might as well send in an ask since I never really have much to say.

I didn't realize I received an ask, so sorry for the delay and thank you for your patience! I'm always happy to chat or give my 2 cents about anything!

First, I absolutely believe the eclipse can affect your period, so no worries there and it's not crazy or anything. Our menstrual cycles are based on the lunar calendar, every 28 days or so (some are just slightly longer or shorter, but the average is 28 days) and if the moon can affect the tides so completely, it absolutely can affect us humans who are 1 made up of a bunch of water ourselves and 2 are also energetic beings that can be sensitive to magnetic changes like any other being. There's some really cool research videos from NASA showing the magnetic fields around earth moving with the eclipse, feel free to check them out! Everything around us, especially large things with massive energy like the sun or moon, can absolutely affect our bodies! I'm not sure if you were in the path of the eclipse at all, but I'm in northern Illinois and we were at about 93% totality by me and even with that, you could absolutely feel it whether you were inside or not. My husband, child, and I all got huge bursts of energy and it was very overwhelming. My husband described it as an anxious feeling as he's not yet super in touch with his bodily feelings and energy and didn't enjoy the experience, but I could tell for me it felt very neutral but overwhelming, so I leaned into it and used to get excited and get things done. It was again though, very overwhelming, which is why a lot of people don't enjoy eclipses or claim they're chaotic energy. A huge burst of energy will always feel weird! Everyone around us and anyone who we spoke to absolutely felt the same. SO, in conclusion, absolutely could your menstrual cycle be affected.

Now, in regards to the imagery you've been experiencing and you looking into kemetism, I did a little digging myself since I'm not super familiar with kemetism and I found some pretty interesting things! I started off researching the God Set(Seth) since you mentioned him, and noticed the egyptianmuseum.org had mentionrd him being associated with eclipses, not just storms and such, but even more than that he had a long-standing tiff with the God Horus the Younger who ultimately bested him and took over his late-fathers throne. Horus the Younger was represented by a falcon and associated with healing, protection, the sun, and the sky. I'm not sure if this is the God you were making offerings to, but perhaps he is the one answering your calling and you are getting glimpses into a little about him and his journey to steer you towards recognizing who is answering you. They do say that if we focus on something we want, we begin to see it everywhere, even if we don't want to, but also many spiritual people who reach out to their Gods and Goddesses report seeing representstions and messages from them before they realize who is trying to communicate with them. So, perhaps Horus the Younger is the one trying to make contact with you. Or, if you've been manifesting a good partner for yourself, perhaps the man you've been seeing is closely tied with Horus or perhaps follows him spiritually. Or maybe he even just embodies the good characteristics of the God and your brain is choosing to represent him in this imagery. There's a lot of "what ifs" from an outside perspective, and only you will know what rings true to you and your situation. Hopefully some of my ideas and such will spark some clarity on your situation and you will figure out what messages you're receiving from the universe to continue on the path you want to lead. I definitely implore you to open your heart to the messages and synchronicities that appear to you in your life, as our guides are always walking along side us in our journey and the universe whole heartedly supports you in every decision you make. Not everything is a sign, but if it feels like it is, then it probably is. Learn to trust your gut and lead with instinct and be open to the energy around you, and just use your brain to keep you in check from becoming too far gone so that you can still be safe within your reality, instead of held back by anxiety or worry about simply being weird.

On another side note, just with the period and everything, I personally implore you to also maybe use this as a sign to learn more about your menstrual cycle if you've been working with fertility gods and your cycle was suddenly changed by the eclipse! There is so much us women aren't taught and we usually find out ourselves as adults doing research. Understanding the phases of our cycle, what's going on in our body and with our hormones, etc are all things that can lead us to better health, better periods, and a better understanding of ourselves biologically AND spiritually (you'd be amazed at how much power a woman holds thanks to her cycle). There's also so many cool unexplainable things that happen in regards to a woman's body and our ability to create! Did you know at the moment of conception when a sperm meets an egg that there's a flash of light scientists can't explain? Did you know that breastmilk is so complex and tailored to each baby and feeding that we can't reproduce it in a lab? Did you know that your energy levels directly follow your menstrual cycle and affect everything you do from weightlifting or exercise to needing to eat more or less to needing more or less sleep? Theres so much knowledge we've lost that women are now reclaiming and teaching and I love every part of it. I think every woman (and man tbh) should go on a journey of learning about their own fertility cycles and such.

I’m trying to hammer down exactly how hybrid aging works, because in my mind it works differently than human aging. I think this would apply for most, but probably not all hybrids

There’s a good chance my math is off here, so if it is please let me know!!

Currently I’m thinking that they grow a little faster than humans from ages 0-15 (15 would be when most hybrids hit physical maturity), and then from 15-21 their aging slows wayyy down, and from 21-death they age at about half the speed of humans. So basically, depending on what mob the hybrid is, this would be their aging:

From 0-15, they age the human equivalent of 1 year every 5-7 calendar months. So the average hybrid would grow from birth to 15 in about 7.5 years

Then from 15-21, they age the human equivalent of 1 year every 2-4 calendar years. So it would take a hybrid aged 15 about 18 calendar years to reach age 21

(this means that if a hybrid befriends a human when they’re both 15, by the time the hybrid is 21, the human friend will be 33)

And this would be altered based on what type of mob the hybrid is, what % hybrid they are, etc.

So if someone has a human parent and a hybrid parent, and comes out 1/4 hybrid, they’d still age slightly faster from 0-15 and slightly slower from 15-21, but nowhere near as fast/slow as a true 50/50 hybrid

This would also make a lot of my hc’s make sense, for example in the dad!Schlatt hc, I still hc Schlatt and Tubbo to be their irl ages, and this would make that work, because if Schlatt had Tubbo at 17, then over the 7.5 years it would take Tubbo to age from 0-15, and the 6 years it would take him to age from 15-17 (a total of 13.5 calendar years), Schlatt will only have aged 4.5 birthdays (17-21.5). This would then feasibly make Schlatt and Tubbo 21 and 17 during the election and still be father and son

This would also make my childhood friends hc with Schlatt and Wilbur feasible, because I hc all of the Sleepy Boys to be hybrids as well (Techno 3/4 piglin, 1/4 human - Wilbur 3/4 human, 1/4 crow (is that what Phil is??) - Tommy 3/4 human, 1/4 unspecified demon). So with the altered aging with Wilbur and Tommy both being 3/4 human 1/4 mob, they could’ve still been childhood friends with Schlatt and Tubbo and the same/similar ages to them in present day

This would also explain Bad, Skeppy, Sam, and Puffy being certain characters parents, but also very similar ages to them. These characters wouldn’t have to be in their 30’s/40’s/50’s to make the story make sense (Phil is still in his 30’s but that’s because a) he’s actually aged to that point, and he’s not a similar age to really anyone else on the server, and b) his aging works differently than everyone else’s because he’s the Angel of Death. Death herself stretched his lifespan way out so that she could be with him longer)

on ao3, I’ve published for only two fandoms: DC/Batman and Marvel/Spider-Man~ it used to be three, but i ended up discontinuing (maybe?? idk it’s been over three years dkjfhskjdfb) a Naruto fic. honestly, it should just be one since 17 out of 18 fics published are for DC lgjslfjdfs

yes!! i make it a point to respond to every comment i get because it means the absolute world to me that people read my stuff and even take the time to tell me that they liked it! personally, i get so excited whenever an author responds to one of my own comments, so i like to do the same!

oof, tough one.... i think it’s a toss up between Natural Disaster and approbation for the dead since both of them are largely surrounding how Dick dealt with the news of Jason’s death. honestly though, i have been told that most of my ending are angsty (true) so it could really be any fic alfhslkdjf

7) Do you write crossovers?

nope! i’m just not into enough fandoms to actively want to write a cross-over and publish it. a couple years ago when i was super into Naruto and Marvel, i had a lot of wips for a crossover between those two but never got around to fleshing them out

8) Have you ever received hate on a fic?

hmmm once or twice? when i was on ffn more, and i was still actively publishing for that Naruto fic i more-or-less shelved completely, i would get a few harsh criticisms, but it wasn’t really hate. i hadn’t gotten any on ao3 until about a week or two ago where someone commented and basically complained about the premise of the fic (of which i am 100% sure they either didn’t read or just skimmed through) but i wouldn’t really call it hate

9) Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

nope! i am not comfortable writing sex related things, at least not to the point where it’s called “smut” and i don’t think i ever will be

10) Have you ever had a fic stolen?

not that i’ve come across!

11) Have you ever had a fic translated?

nope! i think it’d be really cool if it happened one day though... just the idea that someone liked the fic enough to want to spread it around in another language so someone else could read it is soooo amazing

12) Have you ever co-written a fic before?

nope! honestly, i am very exact with what i want to happen in a fic, so i don’t think i’d be a very good collaborate concerning that... i did used to beta a lot back in 2018 and 2019 though, and the main person i beta-ed for did a lot of world building and i helped them with that, so i am going to say, yesn’t

13) What’s your all-time favourite ship?

hmm i’m not too big into shipping but i do adore Dick/Kori. i’ve seen them across so many different forms of media and their dynamic is sooo good every time. i feel like they are just made for each other, their relationship is so beautiful

14) What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?

ahhh there are so many, but i started writing a Banana Fish fic and i have an entire plot on my phone, but i just don’t think i’ll ever have the time to actually get anything down for it even though i would really love to

15) What are your writing strengths?

i’d say emotion? or maybe characterizations? i really love getting down and dirty into the minds of the characters i write, and since my plots are typically very angsty and hurt/comfort, i have been told quite a few times that the characterizations make people tear up (in a good way!) and that they can see said character actually doing/saying the things i’ve written for them

16) What are your writing weaknesses?

getting to the point, probably. i get long winded with the fics i write because i focus so heavily on character rather than actual plot. so, fics that shouldn’t have been longer than 2k are 7k or more, and my biggest example for that weakness is a storge for you. the average chapter length is about 9.8k and i know for a fact that what was supposed to be a single chapter somehow evolved into a 50 page mess, so i had to split it into two

17) What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in another language?

when it’s done well, and i think a lot of @/dustorange’s fics do this wonderfully, it is so brilliant and heartfelt to read. when it’s done for the sake of shoving “hey look this character is bilingual” in your face, it honestly feels a bit cluttered and unnecessary. i don’t really mix languages together in my fics because i don’t really know much else other than English and Latin, so i don’t want to be disrespectful by throwing words of a language i don’t speak into random dialogue

18) What was the first fandom you ever wrote for?

Naruto! i absolutely hated that Sakura got nerfed so hard in the show/was portrayed as really weak because she was compared to people with literal *hacks* in their genes, so i was obsessed with bamf sakura fics. and then i got bored after reading all of them and decided to write my own kjdfhskhfd i really liked the time-travel aspect of Naruto fics, so i decided to incorporate that too but then the plot got wayyy too big for me to handle, and that’s one of the reasons i kind of.... dropped it. and because i keep hinting at it, here’s the fic: War Happened

19) What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?

it’s gotta be a storge for you. it is my literal baby and i have sooo many plans for it. i’ve been pretty pleased with the way it’s going and how it’s been received so that makes me love it a lot more! i think The Call is a very, very close second though because it was the first fic i ever published for DC and it holds a very special place in my heart

“What I just said,” Calum presses, “Aayat. Likes. Noémie. Do I need to spell it out for you? Like in those weddings, all glittery and big on a styrofoam heart? AAYAT WEDS NOÉMIE. SHAWN GETS ROYALLY FUCKED.”

“Shut up,” Shawn seethes, waving his hand around to dismiss his friend, “God, just fucking shut up, Calum.”

“Don't shoot the messenger, dude.”

“M’about to more than shoot you. M’going to…”

“Yeah, think it over,” Calum smirks, bringing his cigarette to his lips, “Your preferred mode of murder is probably tickling. Pussy.”

When Shawn smacks Calum on the head, he simply chuckles, taking a long drag and blowing the smoke back into Shawn's face, who makes a face and leans away, too wasted to do anything else. He feels faint, and not the I'm-drunk-off-my-ass kind, but the numb kind. Like that feeling you get when you know something has gone terribly wrong, and you know there's absolutely nothing you can do about it. Nada. Zilch. Probably mourn, though, like Shawn currently is. And then decide to shoot the messenger even further, also like Shawn currently is.

“S’you're telling me..,” Bringing a hand up to his head, he runs a hand through his hair, pushing the unruly curls away from his face. He bites into his bottom lip, really craving another bottle of beer as he says, “That Aayat likes Noémie.”

“Jesus fuckin’ Christ,” Calum mumbles, shaking his head, already regretting being the one who had to bring this up to him. All of his and Shawn’s friends had had a lengthy debate (sans Shawn, of course) about who would be the one to bite the bullet and just tell it to Shawn like it is. Calum, like the dumbass he is, had volunteered. Volunteered. The others weren't willing to do it even when threatened with a stick up their ass. “Yes, Shawn. The girl you're in love with likes your best friend. There, I said it.”

“Uhh..” Shawn scrunches his face, scoffing, “I'm not in love with her?”

“Sure, dude, whatever you say.”

“I am not in love with her. I'm not. I just… think she's cute. But I'm not in love with her.”

“Maybe saying it enough times will help you fool yourself, huh? Heard that's good strategy.”

“Oh my God, Cal,” Shawn’s head drops to his propped up hands as he mumbles into his palms, “Am I in love with her?”

“Would you get her name tattooed on your right ass cheek?”

Shawn lifts his head to give Calum a weird look, like this isn't something they've discussed before. Calum doesn't think Shawn remembers, though, because he was black out drunk when the gang had sat around a patio table and given their two cents about What is Love? Not like any of them had any sort of worthy experience, whatsoever, but it was fun while it lasted. Shawn's contribution had been on the wilder side, proudly claiming, ‘If I fall in love, I'll get her name tattooed on both ass cheeks.’ Calum’s glad he refrained from drinking that night.

“Would you?”

“No?” Shawn sounds unsure, eyebrows furrowed.

“Then you're not in love,” Comes Calum’s simple reply. He taps his cigarette on the lip of the ashtray, watching the gears slowly turn in his friend's head. He knows he should've broken the news at a better time — perhaps a time when Shawn hadn't downed two glasses of vodka and God knows how many bottles of beers, a time when he at least had some of his mental faculties together. Thing is, though, that Calum is shit with emotions. Had he managed to catch Shawn at just the perfect time and made him cry — which he really, really can't put past Shawn — then he would've also done the shittiest job at consoling his friend.

Now, however, Shawn is barely conscious. Some of his words slur together when he talks, cheeks and the tip of his nose rosy and warm. His actions are delayed, soft, like you're looking at him through a vaseline covered screen. The realisation of what Calum’s telling him takes a while to settle in, and even then, he doesn't really grasp the concept in all its shitty, fucked up glory.

“And Aayat wants me to help her win over Noémie?” Shawn echoes what Calum had told him earlier, blinking dazedly to keep his eyes open.

“And Aayat wants you to help her win over Noémie,” Calum nods, confirming his worst suspicions, "She says no one knows Noémie better than you."

“S’fucked up, man,” Shawn mutters, running a hand over his face. He rubs his eyes while softly shaking his head, repeating, “S’fucked up. S’all fucked up.”

“I mean… it could be worse?”

Shawn's eyes fly up to meet Calum’s at a speed he didn't know was possible, squinted in accusation, “How could it be worse? Lit-eral-lly my worst case scenario. Sure, s’also the fear that I'm way out of her league… but this?” His head tilts to the side, helpless gaze focused on nowhere in particular, “Fuck, dude."

"Maybe this is for the best the best. You could try to.. woo her in the process?"

"Woo her with what? My lanky ass body and average personality? M'only defining character trait s'that I can whistle through my ears. And then there's Noémie... fuck. Mie's just.... Mie. I stand zero chance next to her?"

“I don't think you should be comparing yourself to your best friend. Kinda unhealthy.”

“And I don't care you what you think!” Shawn screeches, wagging his finger in Calum’s face, “I really don't. You've got me fucked up real good here, bud-die. Now shut up.”

“But like…”

“Wha’ d’you not get about.. shutting up?” Shawn mutters, “It's literally so easy. You just.. don't talk.”

“Shawn,” Calum exhales heavily through his nose, dropping his cigarette butt to the ground and crushing it under his shoe, “I know this sucks, but chill the fuck out for a second and listen to me. There's no point wailing like a baby if you won't even remember this tomorrow morning.”

“Morning,” Shawn echoes, muttering to himself, “I am mourning.”

“No — morning. Like sunrise, morning. Like AM morning.”

“Yeah, AM,” Shawn muses, “Aayat Mendes.”

“Sometimes I wonder why I bother,” Calum mumbles, and then reminds himself why. He bothers because he loves his friends, and he loves Shawn, and if ever found himself in a situation like this, he'd want his friends to try and console him. The only difference would be the fact that his friends are good at consoling, unlike Calum, who wants to punch anyone who shows any sort of emotion in the throat.

Sometimes he thinks his violent tendencies stem from being around a bunch of meatheads. And then he reminds himself that he's also around Aayat and Shawn just as often, and if their soft asses can't influence him, then nothing can.

“Hey, you,” Calum leans over the table, putting a pause in Shawn's mumbling by softly poking him in the chest, “Now you listen to me.”

Shawn gives him a half hearted hum in reply, pretending to focus his gaze on his friend while his mind wanders. Makes up scenarios. He almost throws up when a picture of Aayat and Noémie holding hands is conjured up in his head. Holding hands — not even kissing, or making out, or sleeping together — just holding hands like two middle schoolers too afraid to do anything else. Or two people in love — that makes Shawn's stomach turn. So yeah, perhaps he is a goner. Perhaps he will die alone with no one no to care for him. Perhaps Calum is shouting in his face right now, and so he really should try to focus.

“....And so what if they're sleeping together, you know? Fucking doesn't equal feelings, believe me—”

The scream that leaves Shawn's lips then has Calum tumbling off his lawn chair, chin hitting the edge of the patio table in the process. His body hits the ground with a loud thud, and groaning, he makes absolutely no effort to get back up.

Shawn's head peeks under the table, eyebrows on the top of his face. Pink, swollen lips parted in surprise. His grip on the table is strong, knuckles turning white in the process as he screeches, “They're also fucking?!”

“I thought you knew that!”

“Does my reaction make you think I knew that!” Shawn all but roars, nudging Calum’s shin with his pointy shoe.

“Everybody fucking knew!”

“Fuck this shit, Calum,” Shawn shakes his head, holding his hand out to help him up, “Fuck everything. And fuck Aayat.”

“Oh, we all know you want to.”

Shawn lets Calum’s hand go and watches his head hit the ground again, a loud shout of protest following soon after, “Dude, fuck you too!”

“Life already has.”

So you know how there's that one post that basically says that since Thor is 1500 years old, and we estimate that the average lifespan of an Asgardian such as himself is approximately 5100 years, and the average lifespan of a human is approximately 80 years, Thor is essentially a 23 year old in our terms? Right so, when Thor says in Ragnarok that they were 8 when Loki transformed himself into a snake and stabbed Thor, is that actually 8 years or the human equivalent of 8 years? Like, is he actually 510 years old or 8 years old? And if he's simply 8 years old by Asgardian standards as well, using the same math to figure out that at 1500 he's basically a 23 year old human, at 8 on Asgard he's basically only a month and a half in Midgardian standards. So did baby Loki really stab baby Thor?? What did they look like at that age?? What is their aging process like? Do they grow at the same speed as humans for the first few years, but then their growth just kinda slows down?? Or do they stay babies for wayyy longer than humans do?? Can you imagine Frigga dealing with the terrible twos?? Like, we thought it was bad enough, imagine if it lasted almost 64x longer!!!! Does that mean that awkward puberty phases last for many more cringeworthy years?? This is what keeps me up at night, so please tell me what you think/know because I'm so curious!

I kinda forgot about ei’s friends after her teaser dropped ngl 💀 you are so right that they should’ve been there, like how both Zhongli and Venti’s quests had a “let’s pay a visit to our dead or dying friends” arc /hj in hindsight I also wish there was one of those cool 2D PVs for Ei as well hhh it would be Epic to see her three friends like that!! Ig they thought it was covered by her teaser/demo or something? Since that had way more lore than usual, idk though. still hoping for a second quest about her hh

I’m kinda the opposite about lore digging but it’s probably just me lol, I tend to read lore in game only, but don’t have many of the artifacts/weapons that contain the lore I want to read. But disregarding that, I still want some of the worldbuilding to be put in like a story quest or something, since it would be interesting to see what other characters think about the stories in the artifacts and stuff (do different mondstadters have different opinions on their history? What do they think about the white knight or the gladiator? Also I wanna see Eula interacting with the noblesse oblige set. same with Liyue folk and all the Morax Legends lol. I digress tho)

Big same with the La Signora gripe. Shame on me ig but I didn’t read the crimson witch lore before I did the quest so the spoilers I saw didn’t mean much and there was no shock value during the big reveal in quest 💀 yeah I hope we’ll see or hear about her in Snezhnaya!! Mm true it’s strange because I think he said thanked the traveler for being his companion while he was testing out his human life at the end of the archon quest (iirc) maybe it’s just because Liyue’s supposedly a big city so one new person doesn’t really matter to most people (fhdksd if something contradicts this, do tell) I think the fake death was still kinda necessary, at least for normal people to accept that Morax is Completely Gone so that the Qixing can get ultimate authority and total acceptance/respect (that npc who said Zhongli will always be in true control since he’s a god and the Qixing are mere mortals and stuff), but agree to disagree 😌 they’re all shady in some way in the end

How I prepared for the UKCAT

Okay so as I did my UKCAT not long ago, I thought I’d do a post on how I revised for the exam and the strategies I used, before I forget it all. Here are my UKCAT results, so you can decide based on that whether you want to take my advice or not! My score is not super high, but it’s above average, which is all I wanted.

General

Before you get practising, I think it’s important to familiarise yourself with the online layout and features of the test. The UKCAT website has a tour tutorial which I used and found really helpful. There’s also a question tutorial which breaks down the different subtests.

Flagging

This is one feature of the online test. You can click a button to flag questions that are taking too long, and come back to them at the end on a review page. All questions (except one type in DM) are worth the same amount. So don’t spend ages on one question! Flag it, move on, and come back to it at the end.

No negative marking

The exam is multiple choice, and you don’t lose marks for answering a question wrong. So when you go through the questions you’ve flagged, eliminate answers you know are wrong. This is so important because if there are 4 options, and you manage to eliminate 2, even if you guess the answer you still go from having a 25% chance of getting it right to a 50% chance.

Strategy

With the UKCAT, it’s all about trying to maximise your marks by answering as many questions correctly in the time as possible. There’s a few different ways to try and do this, but my main two were either:

do as many questions as possible then guess the rest

‘guess and flag’ more time-consuming questions to come back to (the guessing part was in case I didn’t have time to return to that question)

Verbal Reasoning

my strategy was to skim read the passage first, mentally summarising the subject of each paragraph, which gives you a general idea of the structure 

next I would read the question / statement and try to find the relevant information in the passage

this is made easier by the fact that you already have an idea about where info is in the passage, so you can locate it quicker

also, when reading the question / statement, allocate keywords (such as names and dates) to help you navigate the passage quicker

when I was running out of time at the end, I would skim read, then answer the questions without returning to the passage to save time

when I was really really running out of time, I would go through and guess the rest 

this strategy fell under type 1 above

Decision Making

there’s a wide variety of questions with DM, so figure out which ones you are better at and worse at

I would ALWAYS ‘guess and flag’ if it was the kind where there was a confusing table to read, but complete all the venn diagram ones (my fave)

REALLY GET TO KNOW YOUR VENN DIAGRAMS, not even kidding like 60% of questions involved one

top tip: if you’re given info that looks like ‘there are 25 kids. 4 like basketball only, 6 like swimming only, 2 like football only, 1 likes swimming and football, and 5 like all three’ etc, draw out a venn diagram!! It will help you visualise the info and solve it so much quicker

if you’re wondering what to draw on, you’re given a little whiteboard notebook thingy and a marker pen

also, you don’t have to solve the entire puzzle to answer the question!! often you won’t be given enough info to finish the puzzle but they will ask about parts that you are able to complete

then on to the argument questions, by which I mean the type where there’s a question and you have to select the strongest argument for / against

a strong argument: directly addresses ALL aspects of the question, does not make assumptions about what might/might not happen, and is based on FACT not opinion (backed up by stats is a bonus)

e.g. if it was ‘should we increase the legal driving age to reduce the number of young drivers and thus pollutants in the atmosphere?’ a bad answer would be ‘yes, young people drive too fast and cause 20% more deaths than older people’. Although it has stats, the question was asking about pollutants in the atmosphere so this argument is not relevant

Quantitative Reasoning

first of all, some questions are multi-step and take wayyy longer than others. I would always ‘guess and flag’ these and move on to questions that were quicker to answer

make sure you’re up to speed on your basic maths skills: percentage changes, percentage increase/decrease, ratios, fractions, conversions, area / volume, averages (mean/median/mode) 

the one they ALWAYS test you on without a shadow of a doubt is speed = distance/time !! make sure you know how to rearrange it to find distance and time as well

with regard to graphs: avoid doing too many calculations, and try to eyeball it to see what is closest to the answers available

ahh, the on-screen calculator

it’s awful - BUT, I have a hack!! which I found out literally the day before lol

so I thought you have to click with the mouse to enter numbers and it was taking forever, but you can use the number keyboard!! 

all you have to do is make sure that Num Lock is on! (thank me later)

I don’t really have much more advice for QR, just reassurance. I was getting like 500 every time when I practised, but the actual test I found a lot easier, and I got over 700

Abstract Reasoning

I didn’t actually do that well in this section lol

mneumonics seem to be the way to go though, and the one I used (as recommended by @medicslacks) was SCaN for Placement 

shape, colour, number, placement

then also check things like symmetry and angles 

just practise with this one though, it seems impossible at first but you do get better!

Situational Judgement

I printed it and read it. Not only does it help SJ, but in general it informs you about what is expected of doctors, and I’m sure it will help at the interview stage

generally, things that are important are: maintaining patient confidentiality, working well as a team (and if there are problems address the issue privately with the individual before involving third parties), accountability for mistakes (always apologise and take responsibility), knowing your limitations, maintaining public confidence in the profession 

patient safety is the no. 1 priority so if anything threatens that it is ‘very inappropriate’

Useful Resources

These are the resources that I used during my preparation:

1250 UKCAT Practise Questions by Olivier Picard (latest edition) - I started off with this one. It was good if you want extra questions to practise with, but in the end I think I would have been better off sticking to online resources

Medify - I used this for the majority of my preparation. I had it for 2 weeks and I found it really useful. I recommend starting with the practise questions, then doing timed practise, then moving on to the mocks that are available 

UKCAT practice tests - when you’re on to the final stages of revision, I recommend doing the official UKCAT practice tests. There are only 3 which is why I saved them until the end!

Okay so that concludes my post! The UKCAT is honestly the weirdest exam and I have no idea why medical schools think it’s an indicator of how good a doctor you would be. But good luck to anyone doing it, and I hope this is helpful! X

So. Finally got around to playing Yo Kai Watch after watching a speedrun of it. Admittedly, I took longer than I needed to because I got caught up in grinding, because I like grinding. 

I’m not sure I’ve ever played a game that felt like the plot went from going nowhere to suddenly ramping up and ending. Like the rising action is like a cliff face. You get to the second to last boss and all of a sudden it’s like ‘okay so the last king of the underworld died... sometime ago, one of your classmates is actually from there, no you’ve not talked to him before nor has he been mentioned before, and okay go beat him twice.’ 

Also, there’s a lot of mind control in this game aimed at children. 

One other thing I noticed is that, the game has some weird sexual jokes in there which, I guess is pretty normal for a level 5 game. But at the same time, the main character’s parents sleep in separate beds, like it’s the 1950′s sitcom era. Apparently, jokes are okay, but sharing a bed is bad. 

One weird thing is like, Whisper, who is the worst pretty much the entire game, suddenly and without explanation just starts ethering the main villain with his insults. Like he goes from a major annoyance to just being like, brutal. 

Just straight up looks at the main villain who offers him the world, and goes ‘wow you’re terrible at negotiating. 1. you can’t promise something you don’t have. 2. you can’t promise something you have no way of getting. 3. you can’t promise something I have no interest in anyway. You’re really bad at this.’ 

And I’m over here like ‘did we just sub him in for another character?’ because that feels like something that should come out of the mouth of like, a protagonist in an entirely different, more serious game. 

Also there’s the quote of ‘oh come on. let us enjoy your demise with some dignity.’ 

straight. ethered. 

Also the ending is a bit weird because it’s like ‘oh we have to seal it up forever!’ and then like, immediately at the end of the credits it’s like ‘actually we decided not to do that because that kid who you met about an hour ago intervened somehow in a way we didn’t explain to open it back up!’ 

And i’m like ‘then why did you go for the sad ending if you were just going to undo it not five minutes later?’ 

I will also say that mechanically, I don’t mind the battle system. I do mind that recruiting enemies is a crapshoot. Like it’s basically rng, even with the stuff they like the most. I kind of hate that. I like the concept. I don’t like the drop rate. 

Money is wayyy too easy to get. Like, I figured that starting with cents would mean money would be scarce, but I ended up with like, 5 grand at the end after buying max amounts of food stuff. 

I will also say that the bug catching and fishing stuff is bullshit, because it’s entirely rng. like it says to press a button with accuracy, and then it just goes wherever it wants. annoying af. 

I was going to go through the infinite inferno, because why not descend into this game’s version of hell, but I decided to start the second game first. so far, it’s... about the same? which isn’t a problem. I will say that there is one good improvement, which is that they remembered to reveal the main villain before the last hour of the game! That’s a good change. I have no idea if they’ll be any good, but it’s something. 

I’m a bit worried that one of the things I encountered was literally a pair of naked legs, who when they attack show you their crotch. a little weird there guys.

all in all, average game probably. still want to shove whisper into a blender.

little things we can do for the environment

nowadays, a lot of people have been inventing machines that help in saving the planet but the easiest and most simple thing that have a huge impact on our environment is following the 3R’s.

 REDUCE

here is a list of things on what you should reduce

1.      single-use plastic consumption

this is the most obvious material we should refrain from buying. i know it’s tempting but don’t buy that candy, or that water bottle. as they say:

 if you don’t buy crap from companies they’ll stop making crap.

 think about it, that candy you’ll buy comes with a plastic food packaging. that plastic’s purpose is to cover the candy from anything that can contaminate it, but once the candy is opened he plastic no longer has purpose and will be thrown away on the trash can. that piece of plastic was used once but will LAST FOR DECADES, and in those decades the plastic will go through a lot of.. things. y’know like…

other than plastic interrupting the food chain, we can literally kill all animals with the plastic bags choking them or filling up their stomachs with plastic. we’ve all seen the turtle with a straw stuck inside its nose.

truly heartbreaking. this video started a petition to ban straws, but please STRAWS ARE NOT THE ONLY PLASTIC PRODUCT HARMING MARINE LIFE.

 now you can say “I don’t litter so how am I harming these animals? I throw my trash properly.” but no, buying from companies that produce plastic makes YOU part of the problem. 

the plastic you throw away “properly” adds into the landfill. as i’ve mentioned before, plastic lasts for decades. if we don’t reduce our plastic consumption, we will soon have a mountain of plastics. less plastic u buy, less plastic is produced.

 next time you buy from the mall, don’t tempt yourself from buying beverages and/or foods that come with plastic food packaging. if possible, bring your own food containers and a reusable tote bag or don’t buy at all. quit saying “it’s just one time” a lot of people say that everyday and see what problem we’re facing now? overproduction and overconsumption of plastic asshole. say no to single-use plastic !

2.      printing

this one’s new to me and im sure most of you are as shocked as i am. i always thought it was only because we were wasting so much paper by printing documents and other things that don’t really mean anything (tama na pagprint ng pix ng kras niyo mga burnok), but we keep buying cartridges.

here’s a tip: use recycled paper and reuse toner cartridges. I got that here https://www.colorado.edu/ecenter/zero-waste/reduce/paper-and-printer-waste. it says here that it costs wayyy less money cause duh reusing and reducing??? lam mo na yan mag-isip ka chz

 3.      electronics/appliances anything that consumes electricity

this one. this is something that’s hard for many of us to reduce and i admit im one of those who have a hard time letting go of their phone and uses the light the whole night.

 PHONE: for iphone users like me (weird flex but ok), apple produces a new model every now and then and it makes a lot of apple users buy the newest model. don’t be like them no matter how much money u have that u want to flex (money cant help you survive when earth is dying sis) also, iphones don’t really last a looong time for many users since it’s kinda breakable and well it slows down after a while lmao

my tip is buy what you think will last for a long time (coming from me eh) for you and if you want, try buying secondhand phones. for phones you broke that you piled up in a box (yep i do that), you can replace some parts of it that broke it or give it to recycling centers. According to the University of Colorado Boulder, phones have metals that can still be “reused and salvaged such as aluminum, gold, silver, copper and iron.” NEVER THROW AWAY PHONES OR ANYTHING ALIKE ! “The circuit boards contain arsenic, lead, mercury, and other toxins. The batteries contain heavy metals that are lethal to the land. Many of the chemicals in cell phones have the potential to be released into the air when burned and can create air pollution.” (Second Wave Recycling, 2013) This means that the phone you’ll throw away will intoxicate the landfill. just think about insects flying around and possibly animals eating garbage 

4.      water

do i even have to explain myself? hm maybe.

5.      fast fashion

oh you have no idea how much shopping can affect the environment. i didn’t know before either. but not only is the environment affected but also who work for companies that sell fast fashion.

a.      people have been treating clothes as disposables. clothes that don’t fit the trend nowadays either get thrown away or just stay in the corner of a cabinet.

b.      theyre cheap. and by cheap, i mean CHEAP. most of fast fashion clothing don’t last long that they end up in the landfill. even if you donate/sell it, chances are they’ll be rejected due to poor quality.

c.      “. . most garments (especially fast fashion ones) are made with inexpensive, petroleum-based fibers that don’t easily decompose (such as polyester, nylon, and acrylic), they’re going to be taking up landfill space for decades to come.” (Wood, K.) As Cline points out;

“people generally recycle plastic bottles or avoid buying them in the first place, but people are pretty okay with buying lots of plastic clothing”

next time you think of buying from forever 21 or zara, think about it. they are simply made NOT to last. think about the exploited workers, the products you could’ve gotten for a cheaper price if they were made locally, and the effect on the environment. do you really want to support companies that only gives a fuck about their sales?

6.      meat and dairy

as a meat-lover myself, this was the hardest thing to do. im basically a carnivore since i hate veggies but i do eat a lotta ass fruits so no need to judge sis. but yeah this is so important yet so hard.

if you can, only buy products that are vegan. it doesn’t necessarily have to be food if it’s too difficult for you to let go. you can also have a #meatlessmonday or not eat meat 1-2 days a week.

7.      waste

all in all, reduce waste. avoid throwing away literally anything. aim for a zero waste lifestyle and i can give tips in my next post on how you can reduce waste.

 REUSE

this is soooo hard to do. trust me, i would know BUT it is doable by an average person so shut the f*ck up and use that ugly reusable water bottle your aunt gave you. i don’t care how rich you are and how you can afford a lot more, but what does it matter if they wont be used much and be thrown away when it gets old?

avoid throwing things away and think about how it can still be useful to you or someone else. not everything useless to you is useless to everyone. let someone else find purpose for it or repurpose it yourself.

donate, not discard. choose reusable, not disposable.

  RECYLE

1.      plastic

this is the most important thing we have to do now especially with plastic. now note that not all plastic can be recycled. it’s important to know what type of plastic can be recycled and what shouldn’t

 so as it states, 1&2 are recyclable which is what you would see on a water bottle. it means you should throw your plastic bottles in the recycling bin. here are things you should avoid and things you should recycle

BUT OK BEFORE YOU DO THROW THAT BOTTLE IN THE RECYCLING BIN JUST A QUICK NOTE

PLEASE REMOVE THE PLASTIC LABEL AND DO A QUICK RINSE ON THE BOTTLE! IT LITERALLY TAKES A FEW SECONDS OF YOUR TIME.

bottles that still have the label on are considered trash and are thrown away instead of being recycled. if u ask “why don’t they just take off the label? it takes a few seconds as u said” well dipshit they have more bottles to worry about so if i were you i wouldn’t be lazy piece of shit and take off the label.

bottles that contained sugar drinks should have a quick rinse & make sure there is no left over ! not rinsed = trash. do i have to go scientific and geeky as to why they should be rinsed? i think not lmao

for the plastic i find that can no longer be recycled (ex. shopping bags, food packaging, small pieces of plastic i see lying on the ground), i put them in an ecobrick which i will explain in my next post.

2.      paper

paper can also be recycled. collect all those newspapers, cardboard, cereal boxes, failed quiz papers, rejected thesis papers and notes from your ex-boyfriend. all of them. don’t throw them away, or worse burn them. papers can still be given another chance at life by being remade. all of the papers should not be mixed with any plastic or wax coating.

TRIVIA: Recycling one ton of old paper saves 17 trees; 2 barrels of oil (enough to run an average car for 1,260 miles); 4,100 kilowatts of energy (enough power for the average home for 6 months); 3.2 cubic yards of landfill space; 7,000 gallons of wate; and 60 pounds of air pollution. 

 3.      glass materials

products that are packed in glass glass jars and bottles like RC or your local nata de coco jar are recyclable as well although i’d prefer to reuse them.  

TRIVIA: Recycling one glass bottle saves enough electricity to light a 60-watt bulb for four hours. 

4. books

no. i don’t mean sell it to the junkshop but if u want to, go for it. although there are a lot of people who’d rather secondhand books than new ones so sell/donate your old books to those in need !

5. clothes

i’ve mentioned this before already but i’ll say it again. buy secondhand clothes. theyre not gross and you wont look like those typical katip pipol that all wear the same shoes and/or polo shirts charet. you’ll even help save the planet.

  *note: it is still better to reduce than recycle so still avoid buying plastic and lessen use of paper. but, you do gain money from selling paper and plastic so start collecting your friends’ and family’s junk.

by doing the 3R’s, you can save energy and natural resources and help prevent environmental issues coming from the landfill and pollution. not only are you helping save the environment but you’re also saving money by reducing your purchase, reusing what you already have and promoting recycling.

Tidiness/Chore Headcanons

This got wayyy longer than I expected it to lol sorry. Most of them will be under a read more

At home, Lance always had to clean up his own room (and usually had his fair share of chores but occasionally got days off) so when he got accepted into the Garrison he was like, hell yeah, I don’t have to do anything! I’m never cleaning my room ever again!

That lasted like 3 days because he became disgusted with himself during that time until he was like, okay that’s enough I’m cleaning this room right now don’t talk to me until I’m done I swear Hunk I’m serious.

Also the room wasn’t really even all that messy in the first place because habits die hard and Lance never really learned how to not clean up after himself in the first place. He had to take the trash out and maybe do laundry or make the bed or something, mostly he was cleaning up after Hunk that day because Lance instinctually puts his stuff back when he’s done with it. Also he had some stuff from some of the other students that he borrowed but never gave back. (Not a lot. Lance didn’t have that many friends at the Garrison. Mostly just Hunk tbh but he got along with everybody well enough considering his circumstances).

When he got to the castle, he basically did the same thing again except this time it lasted even shorter.

Once Lance’s personal space is clean he isn’t really aggressive about anyone else’s room. If he doesn’t have to share a room he doesn’t care. He also usually washes his own dishes. Sometimes he absent-mindedly offers to wash someone else’s dishes, then they walk out and he’s like wait a second get back here I’m not doing this for you do it yourself.

Shiro and Pidge take advantage of this pretty much every meal, and sometimes Coran or Allura will also leave him with their dishes.

Lance wants to hold a grudge. He really does. Whenever this happens it makes him really upset and then... he just... kinda shrugs it off and forgets. At least it’s getting done. He just kinda wishes they’d do it themselves once in a while, y’know? But it’s not a big deal, he’s kinda used to it already.

You can predict the likelihood that someone will pass their dishes on to Lance based on whether or not he was fighting with Keith and how heated the argument got. By dinnertime everyone’s tired enough that they’d just rather avoid the fight then try to break it up and if they don’t have to do the dishes they don’t have to be around Lance and Keith.

Even though Lance won’t yell at anybody about it, he’s noticeably calmer in tidier rooms.

Hunk is pretty average in terms of tidiness. He cleans up after himself in shared spaces (i.e. he does his own dishes, and things like that) but he doesn’t bother with his room that often.

Hunk never makes the bed. Ever. It’s just gonna get messed up again that night/the next morning, so why bother?

Hunk’s pretty good at putting his trash in the trash bins, but doesn’t regularly empty them. So sometimes the trash overflows a bit before he does anything about it.

Also he usually ends up piling up dirty laundry until the last possible moment.

Hunk cleans up the kitchen before and after he makes anything. It’s just part of the cooking process to him. Can’t prepare food without clean counterspace.

He’s kinda finicky about how the kitchen is cleaned and organized.

When working with electronics, he tries to keep wires untangled as often as possible. Everyone appreciates his efforts; he doesn’t usually get too much help except from Coran.

Keith tried to help him organize the wires once and almost broke something. Hunk may or may not have freaked out... Everything ended up okay, though.

Shiro is the messiest person on the team. Why would he clean up after himself when he’s got so much stuff better to worry about?

Keith confronted him about it once a few years ago.

“It’s not even a big deal. I mean, it’s just all of my clothes in a pile of dirty laundry... A bunch of crumpled up wrappers... A few empty soda cans... That gigantic pile of empty water bottles- okay yeah maybe I have a problem. Keith? Keith where are you going help me please”

When he was in the Garrison, his roommate (Matt?) did most of the cleaning. It was the biggest cause of arguments between them. Sometimes it just never got done.

Whoever his roommate was, they never let him live it down. Tell anyone he’s going to be living with about his bad habits. Never let anyone make an uninformed decision to room with him ever again.

Kind of the opposite of Lance because he also had to do all the chores as a kid but when he got the opportunity to stop, he actually did.

His problems only got worse after he escaped Galra control. His room in the castle is even filthier than his home back on Earth. And that’s saying something.

Shiro also never makes the bed, but it’s not because of any conscious decision. He just kinda never does it, for no reason.

If Shiro ever cleans his room/home, he tends to find something rather quickly that makes him feel nostalgic (homework, old video games he used to love, his favorite tee-shirt... pretty much anything tbh), then he reminisces about it and gets distracted.

Shiro is a surprisingly messy eater. Everyone knows this, because everyone has had to clean the dining room at least once, and Shiro tends to sit in the same place every meal. He vehemently denies this whenever he gets called out on it.

His messy habits don’t reflect on his personal hygiene. This confuses everyone because how can the messiest person have the best hygiene?

Turns out it’s because showering is Shiro’s main form of stress relief, and it’s therapeutic to him. Nobody bothers him about it after they find out because they all figure they should just let him have something after everything he’s been through/going through.

Pidge’s room is pretty average, at first glance.

She cleans the trash out of her room/does laundry/other minor forms of cleaning 2 or 3 times a month, and it stays in decent condition because she normally only goes there to sleep or change clothes.

She doesn’t normally clean any of the other rooms unless she’s made to though.

Pidge’s idea of doing chores is “sweep all the dust into one of the corners and maybe no one will notice.”

Coran caught on to this really quickly and now Pidge does her chores correctly, but she’ll be muttering under her breath and complaining the whole time.

She only makes the bed if she thinks someone’s going to be coming into her room.

She makes the bed more often when she leaves than when she thinks she’s going to be in her room for a while. Just in case.

She probably has like 15 different hiding places in her room. She uses all of them because she’s used to Lance, Shiro, and sometimes Hunk coming in to “borrow” her stuff.

Pidge never does anything to prevent cords and wires from getting tangled, but still complains about having to detangle them anyway.

Also complains whenever anyone tries to help her because stop touching my stuff!!!

Once she starts cleaning, she might get into it, but will never let anyone know.

The only thing she willingly cleans is her computer.

Keith’s room is the second cleanest, after Lance. It’s pretty close to the same, though.

Unlike Lance, Keith doesn’t have a lot of stuff, so on one of Lance’s bad days, Keith’s room is cleaner.

He gets weirdly competitive about it, too. It’s probably the only thing Lance can honestly say he cares about less than Keith.

Keith is used to living alone in cramped spaces. It’s a lot less depressing returning to that kind of home when it’s tidy, which is why he cares about it so much.

Keith willingly cleans up after himself.

He’s probably the only person other than Lance who always washes his own dishes.

Never volunteers for chores and isn’t exactly efficient or quick but the room is always cleanest when Keith was the one to do it.

Will definitely yell at you if you let your room get bad enough.

Won’t actually help you with fixing the problem though. Just gets irrationally angry and walks out.

100% genuinely does not know how anybody can live the way Shiro does. Completely confused. Absolutely perplexed. He just doesn’t get it.

Keith gets visibly stressed in a room that is too dirty. Granted, it takes quite the mess to get him that far. But you will know when it happens.

Keith: *forgets about Shiro’s room and goes in* Keith: *instantly internally screaming*

Coran does most of the cleaning and maintenance in the castle so by time he gets to his own room he’s usually so exhausted and sick of cleaning that he does the bare minimum possible. His room is probably the second worst in terms of tidiness.

He’s got this “neatly messy” thing going on where it looks organized at first glance but if you spend enough time in there, you can tell it was really hastily done.

It’s actually almost impossible to find anything in Coran’s room because of this. Nothing is where you expect it to be. Where is it? You don’t know. Coran doesn’t know. It’s just lost forever now, sorry.

Allura doesn’t let Coran or anyone else clean her room. She does it herself.

Sometimes the mice help her though. There’s not a whole lot they can do but it’s the thought that counts. Plus, what they can do, they do well.

Allura’s room is kinda the opposite of Coran’s. It looks messy if you’ve only seen it through the doorway but it’s obvious that Allura has her own method of organization and once you figure that pattern out you pretty much know how to find anything.

She keeps saying that one day, she will make it even better. That day hasn’t happened yet. That day will probably never happen. The room will eternally be messy-neat, as far as anyone else is concerned.

To me, travel is freedom. Freedom to explore the world, freedom to experience all kinds of adventures, freedom to grow spiritually. But unfortunately travel isn’t free. So in order to reach the freedom of travel we need to be able to financially support our dream. And this is where many people set their dream aside and wait for a time when their financial situation allows them to travel more. What they don’t realise is that in order to achieve the financial freedom to travel – we need to set travel as a priority , and from there we can start working towards our dream!

And now you’re probably thinking , who is she to judge what I can and can’t afford? Well, I haven’t had a full-time job since I was 18, and even then I was paid minimum wage. I understand what it’s like living off a student loan, trying to get through exams whilst working 30 hours a week – I’ve been there. I haven’t been financially ‘comfortable’ for as long as I can remember, but I’ve been ticking off my travel bucket-list regardless – and so I haven’t felt like I’m missing out on much!

So for you lot out there with big travel dreams and small incomes, here’s a few ways that you too can travel to all the places you’ve dreamed of travelling to. But before we get to the simple bit, it all starts with your mind set!

Change your mindset

Your biggest setback – Limiting Beliefs

Lets keep this simple – if you don’t believe you can achieve your travel goals, then you won’t. And although that may sound harsh, it’s true. But the good news is, you can change your beliefs. The moment you tell yourself you don’t have time, you could never save up the money, you are too afraid to get on a plane and fly half way across the world to a country you’ve never experienced, is the moment that you’re shutting down the opportunity to overcome these obstacles.

So how about, you start out by writing out a list of all the reasons why you think you can’t go to the places you’d like to. Write it all out, this is important!

Changing your Limiting Beliefs to Enabling Beliefs

Now what you need to do – is beside every limiting belief you just wrote down, write out at least three possible ways that you could overcome this limit!

Here’s an example:

Limiting belief

I could never save up the amount of money I need to travel around Asia for 6 weeks

Enabling belief

If I took on a part-time job alongside studying I could start saving up

If I eat out once a week instead of three times a week I could save X amount of money every week

Maybe it won’t be as expensive as I think it is – if I’m willing to travel on a budget

So go ahead and write out your list, once you’ve put aside all your limiting beliefs you can begin actually working towards your goal!

Volunteer

Oh wow, when I think about how many opportunities there are out there to explore the world through volunteering programmes, I literally just wanna pack up my bags and get travelling! There are sooo many different programmes and organizations that you can do this through – just do your research! If you really want to visit a country, don’t mind spending a longer period of time there and are willing to work.. You can do so through volunteering, and this can even involve a small sum of pocket money to spend every month – if you are on a very low budget and willing to work!

  I have volunteered in Italy & Bavaria through Workaway , where I had to work up to 5 hours a day, in exchange for boarding and food etc…I sooo recommend doing this, it’s not just a time of real growth and learning, but you get to experience a whole other culture and explore another part of the world this way!

Couch surfing

If you really aren’t willing to splurge out the cash on accommodation, or should I say any cash, and you don’t mind meeting people and being semi-sociable, then couch surfing could save you tons of money! I’ve only been couch surfing once, but it is something I’d do again! It’s a great way to get some insight from a local whilst travelling, and a lot of hosts are happy to show you around the area and keep you company during your stay. And the best part – it’s totally free – like seriously!

So, with this one I do recommend it as an option for slightly cheaper accommodation if you are travelling alone or with another person. One of the perks is that you can find real cool and quirky places to stay that you wouldn’t be able to find on an average accommodation site. Blabla car basically connects people travelling with empty seats to people travelling the same way. It’s free, and an awesome way to meet new people whilst getting to where it is you’re trying to go. You do need to be willing to socialise with a total stranger obviously for the length of your journey – but you just never know who you might meet!

Night transport

If you are big into efficiency and want to make the absolute most of a short time period that you have to travel – I totally recommend using as much night transport as you can! it basically kills two birds with one stone – you have a place to sleep, and you’re on your way to the next location on your itinerary – what more do you want as a traveller?! Rather than paying for accommodation on top of a day trip on say a bus or train, you just pay the price for transport and when you wake up you’ll be at your destination and won’t have wasted any of your day stuck on transportation. Pretty ideal isn’t it?

Study abroad

If you’re really wanting to immerse yourself in a new experience and actually live in another part of the world, and you’re already a student, maybe you should consider studying abroad! Most colleges offer some sort of study abroad programme – some of which may require you to actually take a year out from your course to study abroad – and I guess it’s up to you if it would be beneficial enough to do so! These programmes tend to also reimburse most of the costs of going to where it is you want to go – including health insurance costs, flights, and transportation! I mean , this is kind of a once in a lifetime chance that you absolutely wouldn’t be able to get any other way. This is something I’d almost always pick over other types of accommodation, regardless of my budget, just because of the hostel vibe and social aspect! Hostels are super fun if you are looking to meet other travellers and love socialising..In most parts of the world they also tend to be super cheap, if you don’t mind sharing a dorm with other people.

Camping

How spontaneous are you? Camping definitely won’t be an option for everybody, but it sure is a cheap way to spend the night. It really depends what type of trip you’re on and your travel location, but if it’s suited to your trip, you should consider camping as an option to cut down on accommodation and food costs big time!

Online Side-hustle

If you’re wanting more freedom to actually travel around more and stretch out your money – perhaps you should start looking at a side-hustle you can do on the go! There are so many different things out there, and in this day and age it’s pretty simple to make money online – if you really want to! Lets say you’re a personal trainer, why not start an online coaching business where you can help people achieve their fitness goals through online contact? Or if you love writing or you’re really passionate about a particular topic, why not start a blog? If you’re artistic, why not try sell some of your art online? (etsy is a great one for this). You may have to put on your thinking cap to come up with an idea that works for you – but don’t limit yourself by thinking it’s not possible!

Visit friends

If you have friends or family in different countries, have you ever thought about visiting them? If you are wanting to travel on your own and go somewhere completely random, then this might not be an option. But if you just want a break and to maybe explore a city you’ve never been to, start thinking about which friends you have that live abroad – and get in touch with them! They’ll most likely be able to provide you with free accommodation for the whole of your stay, and you’ll also have someone to show you all the cool places to see. And of course you get to spend quality time catching up with someone you probably don’t get to see too often!

Once you’ve decided  on your travel plan

So once you’ve actually decided where you want to go, how long for and what methods of travel and accommodation you want to use – you gotta make it realistic by planning out a detailed budget!

By doing this – you’re not only making sure your goals are realistic – but you’re actually writing your goal down , in detail – which makes you wayyy more likely to actually achieve it!

Writing out a detailed budget

This involves a lot, a lot of research – and this is the part I get really excited about when planning out a trip! You should start this before you have even decided for definite if this trip is within your budget – cause you might be pleasantly surprised!

To determine your basic budget, I would begin by researching average costs for : Accommodation, eating out, public transport & a return flight for where it is you’d like to go. So if I was planning a trip to Italy, it would look something like this:

Return flight to Rome – $40

Average cost of eating out for breakfast, lunch & dinner in Italy

Breakfast – $4 x 6 = $24

Lunch – $15 x 6 = $90

Dinner – $20 x 6 = $120

Total = $234

Transport in Italy

Train from Rome – Naples = $40

Train from Naples – Sorrento $20

7 hr Amalfi coast bus tour from Sorrento – $35

Bus from Sorrento – Rome – $30

Transport total cost = $125

Average cost of hostels in Italy

$20 per night x 6 = $120

Total necessary expenses of 1 week trip = $519

+ $80 for sightseeing + souvenirs

= $600

At this point I know the average expense I would have if I went to Italy for a week, and from here I can decide whether I’d like to cut down costs (I could decide on couch surfing 1 or 2 nights, or having free breakfast in the hostel 3 of the days, for example) and then recalculate my costs. If I have a little extra cash to play with, I could include spending on souvenirs and sightseeing etc. It’s really up to you how you want to prioritise your budget!

And at this point I would calculate how many weeks I have until my trip, and from there calculate how much money I would need to save per week to reach my goal of (in this case) $600.

For example, if I have 12 weeks to save up for my trip, I would need to save $50 a week!

Now, by meeting your goal of saving $50 a week, you know that you are guaranteed to reach your goal of travelling to Italy in 6 weeks. You just need to consciously work towards it every single week, and be conscious of what you’re spending your money on. I promise, once you realise your goal is achievable, saving the money will become so much easier!

Ticket for no insurance?

Last year around September I made the grave mistake of letting a friend borrow my car to see his girlfriend and he claimed to have just gotten his license and it was supposed to come in the mail within the next week. And because he didn't have a license, they impounded my car for 30 days, but if he had gotten his license within that time, I could've retrieved my car earlier, but he was not cooperating. To make a long story short, I paid 1,500 out of my pocket to release my car from the impound lot, and my car was insured at the time but he was too dumb to find it in my glove compartment and got a ticket for 2,000. He now wants proof of insurance to dismiss the ticket but I'm not giving him it until I'm reimbursed for the impound fees. Hello, I would really appreciate any one who can help me out with this, personally i am so disgusted with the government and the way the country is run that i don't know much about politics as i stay away from it for my own stress levels. Two months ago my nephew took his own life, as well as a variety of mental health problems (Which of course also go's uncared for in this country) other reasons he couldn't cope to live in society was that he couldn't get a job (200+ job application attempts) he discovered that to increase his chance of getting a job he would learn to drive so he can get to A to B. After going into approx. 90% of his life savings he managed to take driving lessons and even managed to pass his test. At this point he couldn't get insured because he discovered even if he was in a FULL TIME job he couldn't afford it. Yes he was male and was an adolescent. But he didn't want to drive to show off , have a nice car . Etc. he wanted a car to get to A to B to increase the chances of getting a job. I want to know who is in charge of car insurance etc. (department of transport??) so i can write to them and explain the situation which makes me sick to my stomach thinking about. Everyones aware the government are trying to get young drivers off the road, but to then expect them to find a job even in this tough climate is beyond me.
