Hey so uh. People who know me know that I’ve been obsessed with Leonard Snart from the Flash/Legends of Tomorrow since I was a kid. And after all these years I’ve finally got my thoughts together enough to start writing a fic.
Ft. trauma across timelines, and self-immolation across timelines, and love across timelines too. Also: cops vs. robbers, but the cop is your dad, and the robber is you.
Summary under readmore, tw domestic abuse mention
The truth is: when someone leaves, they don’t come back the same. Lewis came home after five years in prison and threw the TV remote at his wife’s head.
Snart resurfaces as a fragmented super-being, an omniscient Oculus consciousness capable of manipulating the flow of time and fate throughout the universe. It takes some of the fun out of bank-robbing.

Ok but I need like an entire season/comic book/ SOMETHING of the six months between s1 and s2 where the Legends were going around fixing/messing up aberrations. Like, so much happened in between the time where they defeated Vandal and to the beginning of s2.
I want to see Jax fixing the Waverider and Rip teaching him how to like a father and son.
I want to see Sara and Mick bonding over losing Snart by playing cards. I want to see Mick give Snart's ring to her. I want to see Ray break down because he thinks it is his fault Snart is dead, and it should have been him. I want to see Snart's funeral. (please, they had to have given him a funeral).
I want to see Ray and Mick become closer friends, but not without a good dose of angst, with Ray thinking he doesn't deserve to replace Snart.
I want to see Sara bury her grief by continually trying to get revenge on Damien Dahrk and hooking up with random women throughout the timeline.
I want to see Ray miss Kendra and then slowly get over her, and Jax telling him how he broke their lucky vase, but it helps him move on in a way.
I want to see Jax and Mick become fire besties, and Stein and Ray excitedly talk about science together. I want to see all of those chaotic missions (the first one in 2x01 was so good I need MORE)
I want to see Rip being exhausted by his team's chaos, and then I want to see his tough shell crack and for him to watch over them like a proud parent.
I want to see the Legends having parties and game nights and dinners (Ray is the best cook of them all), becoming the best of friends. Becoming a family.
Tbh, s1 also had so many missing Legends moments where they could have bonded as a family. I get that they couldn't have shown all that, but I wish it was in a montage at least. LoT is such a found family show, and I live for those domestic moments. Their family dynamic is my favourite part, so IF ANY OF YOU KNOW FANFICS WITH THIS TELL ME RN-

“How did you and dad meet?”
Sara: We met a British guy on a roof, and he told us and your aunts and uncles that we were destined to save the future.
Leonard: I wasn’t buying it. I only tagged along because I wanted to steal things.
Sara: *Whispering* He actually wanted to be a hero.
Leonard: Babe!
---
Mick: *Hysterically laughing*
Laurel: Uh, well, you see, um... We met at work.
Mick: Your mom is lying ‘cause she’s embarrassed. We met at a bank, and it was love at first fight! Your mom came in and beat me up ‘cause she thought I was a bad guy. It was awesome!
Laurel: Heh heh... heh...
---
Lisa: Well, I saw your dad at a restaurant and asked him out on a follow-up date, but it didn’t go so well. He was pretty mad at me for a while after that...
Cisco: She totally deserved that by the way! But, after a while she said sorry, and we became friends. Then we suddenly weren’t friends and were dating.
Lisa: Your uncle nearly killed him when he found out. That’s why Cisco has a signal blocker in his pocket every time he comes over for dinner just in case Uncle Lenny attacks him.
Cisco: Hey, that’s not true! It’s actually a deactivation switch.

Some cool Easter eggs I caught watching My Adventures with Superman that I want to show to people so they can be in on it with comic book readers: For the first episode's Easter eggs it's here
For the second episode's Easter eggs it's here
For the third episode's Easter eggs it's here
For the fourth episode's Easter eggs it's here
For the sixth episode's Easter eggs it's here
For the seventh episode's Easter eggs it's here and here
For the eighth episode's Easter eggs post it's here
For the ninth episode's Easter eggs post it's here
For the tenth episode's Easter eggs post it's here SPOILERS if you haven't seen this week's episode obviously
Tumblr media
We start off the episode with this shot of Superman with the drawn on glasses. A good homage to what Lois did in the 1980 Superman II movie...
Tumblr media
where she not only drew the glasses but also a full suit and hat on a picture of Superman.
Tumblr media
Next we see Jimmy waking up and seeing someone debunking his conspiracy theories on Sub-Diego.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sub Diego was an actual place in the DC universe before the New 52 reboot. In Aquaman #15 and #16 (2003) , shown here (W: Will Pfeifer, P: Patrick Gleason, I: Christian Alamy, C: Nathan Eyring, L: Jared K. Fletcher for issue 15, Nick Napolitano for issue 16). The underwater city is actually San Diego, but is buried underwater thanks to a tidal wave and makes its first appearance in Aquaman #15 (2003). There was a lot of casualties from this.
Tumblr media
When we get to our title its "You Will Believe A Man Can Lie" a reference to the tagline for the 1978 Superman movie.
Tumblr media
As seen here on the poster, it says "You'll believe a man can fly".
Tumblr media
Next we see our villain, well one of the villains, for the episode, Heatwave.
Tumblr media
In the comics Heatwave makes his first appearance in Flash 140 (1963) (cover art by Carmine Infantino, Murphy Anderson, and Ira Schnapp). Heatwave aka Mick Rory is a Flash rogue usually acting as a rival to Captain Cold aka Leonard Snart. In MAwS, their Heatwave shares the same last name and powers, but MAwS Heatwave is gender flipped. You might have seen Heatwave in the CW DC comics shows where he is played by Dominic Purcell in The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow.
Tumblr media
Lois, later in the episode, name drops Heatwave's name. Gotta be honest when Heatwave showed up I was like is that Rampage? Cuz the MAwS design looks vaguely like Rampage.
Tumblr media
If she does show up in MAwS, I'll talk more about her in another post, but for now, Rampage aka Karen Lou "Kitty" Faulkner, makes her first appearance in Superman #7 (1987) (full page here: W&P: John Byrne, I: Karl Kesel, C: Tom Ziuko, L: John Costanza).
Tumblr media
Steve drags Jimmy to film his debunking Flamebird videos and references Starro who I talked about here.
Tumblr media
Lois, later runs around with the Daily Planet police scanner trying to catch Superman and the dispatcher reports that a robbery is in progress at McGuinness Luxe Garage.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is a nice reference to Ed McGuinness who was the artist for Superman, Action Comics, and Superman/Batman in the early 2000s. If you've seen Superman/Batman: Public Enemies, then you'll know the movie takes inspiration from his character designs in the first arc of the Superman/Batman comic series. The Superman/Batman #1 (2003) cover here is done by Ed McGuinness, Dexter Vines, and Dave Stewart. I like Ed McGuinness's pencils, very stylized.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Heatwave name drops Livewire and the Gazzo mod family. Both of whom I've talked about here and here respectively
Tumblr media
Heatwave has been running away from Deathstroke here who has been taking our her crew. Notice that Slade Wilson doesn't have the half black half orange helmet yet that almost every Deathstroke depiction always has.
Tumblr media
He, Amanda Waller, and the General who I totally think is General Sam Lane, Lois's dad, are fans of DBZ cuz of the scouters they're wearing.
Tumblr media
Later in the scene we see the General again he's totally General Sam Lane. I'll talk more about him when we get a double confirmation through a name drop/reveal in a later post calling Amanda Waller, Mandy. What a fucking bold thing to say to Waller! Like damn! power move right there!
Tumblr media
Superman and Deathstroke are fighting under a highway and we see the traffic is heading to Bludhaven!
Tumblr media
Very good reference to my favorite character in all of pop culture, Dick Grayson aka Nightwing. Nightwing makes Bludhaven his city to protect. The city makes its first appearance in Nightwing #1 (1996) (the panel here - W: Chuck Dixon, P: Scott McDaniel, I: Karl Story, C: Roberta Tewes, L: John Costanza). Fun Bludhaven fact, its crime rate is WORST than Gotham! Also HIGHLY recommend reading the new Nightwing run cuz its fucking amazing! Won a few Eisner Awards (think the Oscars but for comic books) recently and I am not just saying that because I am a Dick Grayson fan.
Tumblr media
Near the end of the episode, we see Lois willing to jump off a building to prove that Clark is Superman. A lot of discourse was happening online over this, but I do want to say this is pretty on brand for her to do.
Tumblr media
In Superman II, Lois does something similar and Clark saves her. its just in MAwS, Clark flies to save her thus ruining the secret identity, while in Superman II, Clark does save her but he is still able to get away with it thanks to him playing it more subtly.
Don't know why people we're in such a fucking fit over something that Lois has done before.
Tumblr media
In the after credits scene, Jimmy, who planned a sasquatch finding adventure with Lois and Clark, but they were dealing with their shit and Jimmy was by himself, decides to do the finding on his own and meets a giant gorilla. In the first episode Jimmy mentions an intelligent gorilla in France and my guess is this is Monsieur Mallah. You can read more about him here. If you made it this far down, I appreciate you taking the time to check this post out and if you want to see my other MAwS Easter Eggs posts - Episode 1 is here
Episode 2 is here
Episode 3 is here
Episode 4 is here
Episode 6 is here
Episode 7 is here and here
Episode 8 is here
Episode 9 is here
Episode 10 is here

Post the ranking of the male legends. Let the world burn. Let chaos reign. It's on brand for the show (please read this in a funny tone)
Tumblr media
The official, correct ranking of male Legends from best to worst along with foolproof evidence which you can trust because I am a lesbian and I am not swayed by men of dubious attractiveness.
1: Gwyn Davies
Pros: Invented time travel so he could save the poet he spent his entire adult life pining for. Has some of the absolute best throwaway lines of S7 (with flawless delivery). Has literally never done anything wrong ever.
Cons: Not around for long enough, which was in no way his fault.
2: Ray Palmer
Pros: Delightful. Hilarious. Has great chemistry with every other character. Loves showtunes and Star Wars.
Cons: Spending billions of dollars to create a suit so you can be a superhero in a city that frankly has too many superheroes already is not a good look. Also he's way too intense in relationships.
3: Nate Heywood
Pros: He somehow manages to be the perfect combination of himbo and really smart. It shouldn't be possible. Also, I too am an overeducated nerd who is really into Tala and Maisie, so I relate to him.
Cons: He really sucks whenever he's in a relationship.
4: Jefferson Jackson
Pros: He's such a good guy through and through. He has been put through some deeply unfair things but still manages to always be a positive force. Deserves all the hugs.
Cons: His accent is ridiculous and I can't take him seriously because of that.
5: Mick Rory
Pros: Has any character on the show evolved as much as him? Probably not. He's a sweetheart. He writes romance novels. His relationships with other characters are always amazing.
Cons: We all had to watch him birth alien eggs through his nose and that can never been unseen. Way too attached to his shitty ex boyfriend.
6: Wally West
Wally is right in the middle because he is true neutral. Does he make the show better? Not really. Does he make the show worse? Not really.
Pros: Good karaoke choices.
Cons: It's really dumb that Death Totem Sara appeared to him as his ex (who he really wasn't with that long and who was very much still alive) instead of his mom (who was his only family for his entire childhood and fairly recently died).
7: Gary Green
Pros: Sweet, funny, endlessly relatable. He adds so much character to every scene he's in.
Cons: Does not understand boundaries at all. He's also very inconsistently written because obviously they didn't plan for him to be an alien from the beginning.
8: Behrad Tarazi
Pros: I enjoy the way his relationship with Zari has developed. And he's a great singer.
Cons: Weed is not a personality. They didn't bother to give him an actual personality until season 7, at which point I was already over him. I also don't like his fixation with Astra which was entirely about finding her pretty on Highcastle Abbey and has nothing to do with who she actually is.
9: Carter Hall
Pros: Had the good sense to die quickly before he could really annoy me.
Cons: Manipulative towards Kendra. Actively detracted from the 100th episode.
10: Martin Stein
Pros: Victor Garber. A+ singing.
Cons: Drugged and kidnapped Jax in the pilot. Racist, sexist, deeply selfish. He started to improve slightly but it wasn't enough.
11: Rip Hunter
Pros: Saw the potential in Sara Lance.
Cons: Told Gideon he loved her and then TURNED HER INTO A TRAINING SIMULATOR FOR THREE YEARS. He also flew her into the sun and into an atomic bomb. Lied to all the original Legends. Lied to Ava.
12: Leonard Snart
Pros: Had the good sense to die quickly. Also, I do enjoy him on The Flash.
Cons: Cruel and abusive to Mick almost constantly. Talk about kicking someone while they're down. He's an asshole to everyone, but the way he speaks to Mick is unforgivable.
13: John Constantine
Pros: He's a useful foil for some of the more optimistic Legends. Decent bisexual representation. Never met a weird unidentified substance he didn't want to put in his mouth.
Cons: He forced Charlie to face thousands of years worth of trauma, got Behrad and Charlie's friends killed in the process, and put the entire world at risk. Why? To save Astra, who he immediately forgot about and left to struggle on her own (again). He sent Desmond to hell. He abandoned Nora when she was a kid. He altered Spooner's memories despite knowing that having her mind messed with is a major source of trauma for her. Put the entire world at risk again by teaming up with Bishop. Lied to and manipulated Zari and had the gall to call it love. Also, if both Ava and Mick don't like you, you are clearly highly suspicious.

🧬 🎢 💎 🌠 🔫 🤣
Ooh yay a whole lot of Legends Qs!
🧬 Who would you like to see a crossover with?
Beyond the rest of the extended Arrowverse? I could see Legends having a fun Doctor Who crossover. With many shenaningans, much confusion about different time travel methods ("Time... stream? Huh, that's a new one on me, after hundreds of years"), and jokes about how Rory Williams reminds the Legends of someone but they just can't think who.
🎢 Favourite storyline
Legends of Tomorrow had storylines? I jest - although those def weren't the reason I watched the show. But I really enjoyed the android-clone Legends plot in the final season (I think it was the final season?) That was peak Legends chaotic weird. And because android Zari is the ultimate Zari and also my perfect woman.
💎 Favourite friendship
Mick and everyone. Mick and Amaya were wonderful. Mick and Ray, comedy duo for the ages. I wanted a lot more of Mick and Zari ("New Girl," beta reader for Mick's novels). Mick and Ava were a weird unexpected treasure later in the show. And of course, the absolute joy that is Mick and Sara - brotp forever. They had their ups and downs but they were family in a way that maybe only Snart ever was for Mick before. Excuse me, I'm off to cry and write Mick Rory fic.
🌠 Favourite episode
Here I Go Again. No Legends episode was ever perfect, but that one came damn close. The scenes between Zari and Nate will live rent-free in my head forever. "Groundhog Day!" "You're stuck in a time loop and we have to stop the ship from exploding?"
🔫 Favourite superpower
The superpowers aren't really what make this show great - some of the most watchable Legends in fight scenes have no powers - but I did enjoy everything they did with John Constantine's magic. If that counts as a superpower.
🤣 Funniest moment
How do you choose?? Any of the seriously weird shit Legends got away with. "Puppets of Tomorrow" and, possibly even weirder, demon puppet Stein. Gorilla Grodd fighting young Obama. Inspiring George Lucas to make Star Wars. Giant Voltron Beebo. "Guest Starring John Noble." Leo making the terrible mistake of trying to get the crew to share their feelings (a lot of the funniest scenes involved puppets). I could go on forever. Damn I miss this show.
Thank you for asking all the great questions!
Legends of Tomorrow asks

Gay wrongs tournament, round 2 of the minor bracket
Propaganda:
For Phillip Morgan and Brandon Shaw:
They fucked around and found out. They killed their mutual friend and then held a dinner party with the rest of their friendgroup over his corpse. Everyone should watch rope 1948 If not for the horrible vibes, then at least these two horrible gays.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fGYcU7pLi2o
Phillip is an alcoholic and an absolute wet cat of a man and Brandon is a pretentious asshole with a god complex. They're a disaster gay couple from the 1940s who hosted a dinner party over the corpse of a friend they killed, and invited his whole family to the party. They planned to go on a vacation together after they'd finished doing their murder. They're in love, they're divorced, they're married, they hate each other and most importantly they killed a man by strangling him while staring homoerotically into each other's eyes.
For Mick Rory and Leonard Snart:
The only supervillains on that show that understood the assignment. Thieves with a flare and loyal only to eachother. Eventually become anti heroes on legends of tomorrow but I liked them best as villains. The best part of both shows. Over the top and committed to the theme for the vibes. Puns and crime.
Fire and ice pairing!

ListEn y’all, my best friend got me into this ship so I blame @piedpipersupremacy for this.
WE ARE SLEEPING ON HARTLEY x SNART
Hartley is canonically Gay and Snart is canonically Bi.
In this house, we live laugh love Hartley, but if y’all know his character from like the 90s to now, him dating a cop really just doesn’t make sense?? Like we KNOW he supports ACAB and defund the police campaigns. This mans is a socialist justice protester and he’s not afraid to get his hands dirty to fight for civil rights. HE ATTEMPTED ASSASSINATING A POLITICAL CAMPAIGNER BECAUSE OF HIS FUCKED POLICIES I MEAN COME ON!!
He’s as morally grey as they come, and he doesn’t really play into the good/bad stereotypes. He picks whatever side will help his goals meet, whatever the cost. Even at risk of his own sanity in some cases. His best friends are Wally West, Linda West, and James Jesse. Even though his bestie is a Flash, he STILL joined the rogues and to this day he uses his powers and technology to help whatever cause he deems worthy of helping.
He sends his rats out to find missing persons. He steals money from corporations stealing the livelihood of lower class working people. He advocates for homeless, LGBTQ+, POC, pro choice, renewable energy, etc etc. He is a good person that sometimes does bad things for good reasons.
So yeah, him and David? Not a great match.
ON THE OTHER HAND!!
Leonard freaking Snart. Where to begin with this. Leader of the rogues and devout older brother. His little sister comes first, always, Just like Hartley’s little sister does for him.
Even though he starts a whole gang just to send a huge middle finger to the justice system that failed him time and time again, he sets up these rules that all of the rogues must follow or there will be severe punishment.
No killing supers or flashes. No killing women or children (generally all civilians are off limits). Don’t betray your fellow rogue.
He hand picked not only a highly skilled team of super criminals, but he also created a family.
Snart’s best friend, Mick Rory, for all the arsonist tendencies and gruff exterior he exudes, still has a soft touch. Later on in the comics, he’s even seen turning a new leaf and going on the good side, helping Hartley and James keep their friends from making a huge ass mistake. If that doesn’t tell you their judge of character, I don’t know what will.
Not only that, but Snart spends holidays DELIVERING PRESENTS TO ORPHANAGES DRESSED AS SANTA! Tell me he’s “cold hearted” after that. You can’t.
He truly does care for his community, and by having the most well respected and feared gang, he simultaneously keeps the streets clean of normal gang activity you might see because they claimed most of the terf on Central City and no one wants to mess with the crazy super powered team.
Sometimes it feels like they rob someplace just for the kick of it, or to keep up appearances. They don’t really need any more money, they’ve stolen A LOT of it and we don’t necessarily see em use it much besides when Hartley is donating it anonymously to charity.
Despite Hartley’s “betrayal” to the rogues, Snart and him still seem relatively friendly with each other. Here is a panel where Hartley is helping Wally clean up some of the chaos in the city the Rogues and instigating, and Snart even calls him “old friend” despite him working with the supposed enemy.
Tumblr media
And, despite Hartley leaving his rogue legacy behind and he and James leave for good, there are moments where Hartley shows a bit of regret for leaving them like that and implies that he even misses them.
Tumblr media
Snart sought out Piper because he was the first person to break out of Iron Heights, unaided. The original escapee. Both of them are wicked smart and clever, use dry humour and sarcasm, create their own weapons and keep their secrets close to their chest with hearts of bleeding gold. They do what’s right by their own accounts, even if they have to do something wrong to make ends meet.

Note
If you're still taking au headcanon prompts, Hartley as a recurring rogue/ teaming up with more rogues circa s1/early s2 OR whoops, s1 Eddie got powers from the particle accelerator
Oh, they both sound fun though.
Hartley's plan worked. He got Harrison to admit he knew the accelerator was flawed. He got Ramon to get him out the Pipeline, and he pointed them in the direction they needed to look to find out how to help Ronnie (he will not admit this is part of his plan).
He saw Harrison run though, when he broke the window, saw the traces of red lightning, and that seems like bad news for him. He heard a rumour about another speedster, one who killed people at Mercury Labs, and Hartley has a terrible feeling he just inadvertently got on the wrong side of a murderer
But he does know the Flash has weaknesses, and knows Snart and Rory didn't make it to Iron Heights. He can find them, and he's sure he can build them new guns easily enough if Ramon can do it.
Leonard just steals the blueprints and Barry's name from Cisco, Hartley does build the guns, and Lisa's Gold Gun, and he's got an idea for a flute that might come in handy
Hartley helps with the not actually handing anyone over to shady government organisations part of the Pipeline plan. This is when they recruit Shawna to the Rogues, and maybe Mark.
Mark's still grumpy he didn't get to do his tidal wave plan and Leonard's very insistent the Flash made him promise not to kill people any more, but Hartley still persuades him to join the group by saying killing the Flash will give him some revenge for a few minutes, or he can cause problems for the Flash constantly by helping them steal things and cause chaos he's got to go deal with, and more of them have a better chance of beating him and showing him up in front of the whole city. Mark's a little dubious, but willing to give it a try, since it'll make them all rich
All the Rogues are willing to help with the stop Lewis Snart plan, especially when they find out what he's done to Lisa, even if it means teaming up with the Flash. Hartley goes in as the tech guy after Barry because Hartley figured out who he was ages ago, and he's obviously going to mess this up.
Working together once does not mean they're not all going to carry on with the ruin the Flash's Christmas by causing as many problems as they possibly can for him in a few months though. They already had to delay it because this other speedster went and hurt their enemy
(If anyone sees them helping stop Zoom's forces at the end of the series, that's only because they can't rob any banks if all the banks get destroyed. It's definitely not because they got attached to the Flash and he's their guy to fight, who does this other speedster think he is?)
Hartley's very happy with his new weird little family. They're planning on stealing from his parents next.
As for Eddie gets powers, I have less right now, but:
The windows shatter, the power goes out, and there's this huge bang from upstairs and before he's even thinking Eddie's sprinting to the lab.
He finds Barry unconscious lying on a set of shelves and immediately goes to start chest compressions. Only there's this residual charge left in Barry and Eddie's last thought as he's thrown back away from Barry's body is you're not meant to touch someone who's been electrocuted.
It would be suspicious to only take one of C.C.P.D.'s comatose employees into his care, so Eobard is forced to also bring his ancestor to S.T.A.R. Labs. He's very, very grumpy about this.
He's even more grumpy when Eddie wakes up about two weeks after Barry and also appears to be a speedster, but he had to inherit it from somewhere.
Eddie puts his foot down and the Pipeline doesn't happen. He's more hesitant about the superheroics too, technically it means being a vigilante which is illegal, but ultimately Eddie wants to help people, so he does put on a costume just to help Barry with the fires and things like that. He'll leave the dealing with criminals in costume to Barry, unless he really needs help, Eddie sticks to doing that part the normal way as his day job
Thank you!

5 + 1 Fic Friday Roundup: Is Anyone Going to Adopt that Kid?
Some adoption and/or found family stories.
Judgement and Justice (AO3) - "Hitoshi Shinsou is surrendered to foster care by his single mother at the age of five. At the age of six, he decides to run away with his 'villainous' foster brother. From there, we meet a runaway Todoroki with projection issues to rival a Trans Siberian Orchestra concert, a tired analyst in a questionable government organization trying to figure out just who needs to get fired and where, a panicking Pro Hero trying to locate his son, who wasn't supposed to be in foster care in the first place, and a very, very annoyed underground hero who's going to steal a child from SOME hero, one way or another."
Crash Into Me (AO3) - "Kara is cold and scared and her little baby cousin Kal-el won't stop wiggling, but they have no choice but to keep moving or the DEO, the government entity that captured them shortly after they crashed on this planet, will catch them and punish them for trying to escape. And then Leonard Snart and Mick Rory, driving by, very nearly crash into her life."
The Children of Ullia (AO3) - "In a time where Aloy accepted Ullia's offer to take her as a daughter, Ullia had already taken one child of the East to be her own. A young man she met in Sunstone Rock."
Proud Immortal Parent's Way (AO3) - "A story in which Shang Qinghua gets the chance to raise the protagonist from square one! This causes a lot of things that never made it to the final draft of PIDW! And now there was a bunch of family drama in the Mobei Clan and some drama with Huan Hua that he and Binghe got dropped into, but hey, at least he wasn't going to be a scum villain anymore. And the cute baby is a plus!"
dry as a bone (AO3) - "Din Djarin didn’t set out to build a clan, but the child cooed and whined and telekinetically shoved their way into his heart. A clan of two is more than enough to fill that old bounty hunter’s heart, even if the womp rat doesn’t exactly take up much space. Said womp rat isn’t the only kid with special abilities, though, and every child deserves a chance to grow up safe and loved."
Bonus: Dad Bane AU (AO3) - "When Cad Bane is rescued from an ambush by a small Twi'lek street urchin, he does not foresee how much their meeting will change his life."

What are your Mick Rory headcanons? Love your blog btw!!
and i love you, random citizen
Tumblr media
BEHOLD SOME FUCKIGN GUY
vaguely on all the queer spectrums in existence, he doesn't care to label shit specifically, but he's a lot more complicated than allocishet monogamy. he also enjoys his relationships in more of a grey area than strictly romantic or platonic. in the polycule au, his qprs include: coldwave, canarywave, atomwave, flashwave, mixen, marlie, mickayla
mick stopped drinking a while after he left the legends so he could be a present dad to his alien babies. he goes to meetings and has a sponsor and everything
lita still harbors resentment over him not cleaning up his act when she was little, but. she's happy for him and her little siblings. it's something they're passive aggressive about, dysfunctional family style
mick still wears the ring snart gave him. it's not on his finger- he worries about it slipping off since its not sized for him and getting it resized would feel like losing a bit of len- but rather, he's fixed it into a necklace. he usually wears it under his shirt, and never really takes it off.
this is more a fic concept than a headcanon, but again on the topic of how his children are affected by his alcoholism: when lita goes away to college, mick checks up on her pre-pregnancy as well. she's started drinking, responsibly at first, but it's just on the brink of getting out of control. she has the genes, after all; she comes from a long line of alcoholics and ends up being far more susceptible to it than she thought she would. she thought she was smarter than them, smarter than him. but mick can see it for what it is, she's one step from falling off the ledge and if she does that she can never fully go back. he tells her that much, too, when he finds her wasted in her dorm surrounded by her own sick. he takes care of her; holds her hair as she vomits, gets her glasses of water, keeps her steady, wraps her in bed, cleans her place. he leaves while she's asleep, but she finds a note in the morning: "you're better than me. act like it." she never drinks again, even post-pregnancy
while he still believes his past isn't for everyone to see, he is open about his history of self-harm with his children, as he never wants them to feel like they should be ashamed if they have those thoughts and he wants them to know they should reach out to him instead of hurting themselves
gets over his hatred of glitter when his tiny little ones adore putting it on his face as makeup, but he never quite gets over the hatred for puppets nor his phobia of clowns
he has several tattoos that were obscured by his burn scars, few tats survived
he hates any media that portrays vampires in a sexy light, vamps are the only monster he would never fuck
autistic, occasionally loses speech which is why he's so well-versed in the language of grunting. also a dyslexic fuck which isn't helped by his canonical far-sightedness. thought he just had adhd for a long time as autism felt too... serious? i think he canonically used to say the r slur before sara said he can't anymore, a joke with his mixing up of words, so. internalized ableism isn't much of a stretch. it takes him a long time to accept
he was honestly expecting ali and kayla to hate each other or get into jealous cat fights, but after the initial pettiness (and a few arguments over their kids), they wuv each other. fast friends. ali is one of the few non-legends kayla trusts to babysit and mick couldn't be more content with that
he doesn't actually care what pronouns are used for him, he's accepted that he was amab and that society assumes him as a cis he/him manly man so he just runs with it. not particularly dysphoric about it either.
he's only ever pissy abt when people get rebecca silver's pronouns wrong, as she is a persona, a pen name, a character he plays, like low-level drag, she is a she/her womanly woman. get it right, you fools. in the writing world the genderfuckery of rebecca silver is as controversial as the genderfuckery of f1nn5ter
that's all i gotsies rn thank you for the ask :>

The Rogues have a code.
That much probably most people know, they even had it on the TV show.
The thing is, the code shifts throughout the different Flash runs and also depending on what writer is in charge.
Originally, the code was very simple, very straight forward. Three rules.
1. Don’t kill. 2. No drugs. 3. The score comes first.
It’s so simple and I genuinely love, love, love it. No killing, just theft. Good. No drugs; no dealing with them, no taking them yourselves because you gotta be clear-headed to do the job. Double good. The score comes first. That doesn’t mean nothing else matters, it actually means that you can’t let yourself be distracted by personal feelings like revenge.
Quite frankly, the last rule is the first one the writers kicked out. The Rogues get written very revenge driven for a while. But they amend it by adding another rule and honestly that’s okay, I love that rule.
4. The Rogues take care of their own.
Meaning they avenge each other’s death, but also that they break each other out of prison. It’s basically the foundation of “The Rogues are a Found Family” and that’s my favorite aspect about the Rogues so this rule is important to me.
The next rule to be kicked out is the first rule though. Because for reasons I genuinely can not grasp, the writers wanted the Rogues to be murderers.
They didn’t have to be. There’s enough other villains going around, killing people without a second thought. The Rogues, as a group, could have literally just remained thieves. It would actually also make so much more sense in the larger continuity of things, for them.
But no, rule number one changes into “Only kill if it’s either you or them” - which is fair enough, society at large does have that rule too, it’s known as “self defense”. And then it turns into “Don’t kill speedsters”.
AND THE WRITERS STILL MANAGE TO BREAK IT AND I’M MAD.
So we’ve reached the point this post is really about. It’s about how the Rogues have an honor code. And how cool that actually makes them. And how the writers continuously fuck that up by rewriting the honor code and stripping the Rogues off their honor to the point of having them murder a child in cold blood.
The Rogues kill Bart Allen. Not even in the heat of battle. He’s walking away from them and they shoot him in the back. Mark Mardon, Leonard Snart and Mick Rory murder a freaking kid.
I’m not entirely sure how age works in the DC universe just yet, seeing as Bart is a grown I would guess 19 year old-ish guy by now but none of the Rogues have aged a day. The youth keep growing; Teen Titans and Young Justice all become adults, but the adults kind of all remain the same age.
Either way, to the Rogues, Bart Allen is a child. They even make a show of pointing that out before they kill him, noticing that this is not the last Flash or the original Flash, that this is a kid.
And still, with the “threat” of prison - just prison, nothing more serious than that - the Rogues murder Bart Allen and I’m sorry but that’s the most OoC thing I have ever read in all of the Flash issues and runs so far.
The Rogues, who played games with Barry Allen. They never wanted to kill him, they even say so themselves in canon. That they always expect Barry to outrun them. It’s a game to them, trying to outwit but not murder the Flash.
And the Rogues and Wally West? They’re friends. They have barbecues pool-side with each other in their civil attire, Wally attended Lenny’s retirement party.
But Bart Allen, the youngest Flash, him... they just... murder. Because they don’t want to go to prison. When going to prison and breaking out again is literally just what they do, all the fucking time.
The way the writers backtracked on the Rogues’ honor code and kept writing them more and more murderous and with less and less morals, to make them - I don’t know - more edgy or whatever is so frustrating.
Because if I wanted villains without remorse or care who just murder for the fun of it, I would be reading fucking Batman comics.
I am, however, specifically reading Flash comics because I want the colorful thieves who steal but also save the city if push comes to shove, the thieves with a heart of gold who don’t kill but all have the capacity for redemption in themselves as shown in canon repeatedly in the past.
This is... the worst character assassination I’ve ever witnessed in DC and I’ve seen some serious nonsense at this point.

Alright, so a DCAU headcanon I have is that the Captain Cold we see is an imposter (have a whole WIP centered around it), and that the real Captain Cold was replaced so that the Central City Rogues would be more out of control. Leonard is usually the leader, and so with him gone and replaced by a crueler, more blatantly evil fake, Mick ditches them to join the Legion of Doom because Fake!Cold is a dick to him. Lisa, the Golden Glider (although taking inspiration from her CW weapon), knows her brother has been replaced and is trying to track down his whereabouts.
Although that leaves the question: Is Leonard Snart married or is that something Fake!Cold came up with? And if he is married, to whom?

both have sharp teeth read by Shmaylor Daredevil, (gen), 1.5-2 hrs, Angst, Black Widow!Karen "And there are stories about wolves and girls. Girls in red. All alone in the woods.
