The Unaired Two-Page Conversation
I think we're past the point of possible spoilers, so as promised: the 2pg book conversation that was cut for time (and realism). Originally, I was experimenting with "unsent" books as part of the conversations, but I thought it would ultimately be too confusing and opted not to use that, so anything you see with a strikethrough is an "unsent" book.

Goddd thinking about the time loop-y elements of Hadestown really makes the line “I knew you before we met, and I don’t even know you yet” hit different

(PLS DO NOT READ AS BATCEST)
Jason: alright Eurydice, calm down, no need to get stabby
Damian: I WILL— why am I Eurydice?
Jason: because… Bruce went to bargain for your soul? Obviously Orpheus failed, but eh.
Damian: and what would that make you?
Jason: Icarus. Duh.
Tim: does that make me Perdix?
Jason: no, Tim. Not everything is about you. Perdix is Stephanie
Bruce: but I didn’t push Stephanie off of a high building
Stephanie: you might as well have.

he literally looked back because he loved her. she was already dead. she wouldve still been dead even if he hadnt looked back and they'd made it. she was a ghost. she wouldve come back wrong. it's not a happy ending (yes it is). he loved her. he looked back. HE DID NOT FAIL HER!!!!! its not about getting back what you've lost its about saying goodbye. there is no other end to this story. im done.

Hey Game. Quick Question Game. I know you want to curate this whole orph vs emps story really badly but like. What if. What if. Instead you maybe give me the option to ask Orpheus to unthrall emps during the final showdown?????? BECAUSE I KNOW HE CAN. LEMME JUST-
Even just to wipe the smile off the netherbrain's dang metaphorical squid face, can you imagine if we coulda just swiped squid buddy from the netherbrain's control?
AT LEAST Give Emps another chance to choose what side to fight on after Orpheus somehow agrees to co-operate come oooonnnnnn

Hi! I haven't seen Hadestown but from what I read of Hermes... Wouldn't Annabelle or Helen Disotrtion have fun with that? Well they are more about tricks than they are about tests but there's seeing the tragedy unfold as it was always meant to and "guiding" someone lost in corridors... Idk.
(Also having Martin be Persephone kinda makes Peter the most logical Demeter. Seasonal depression explained.)
And okay but who's the artist that moves them? Jack Barnabas's love for Agnes? Callum Brodie, pleading for what? Gerry looking for his father? Tim coming down for Sasha?
Please tell us more.
In this au, it's tim and sasha! that's why I went for Jon and Martin as Hades and Persephone, because they have a closest connection timsasha, and vice versa
And I've thought about annabelle or the distortion for Hermes but my problem is connection again. In the musical hermes acts as a sort of mentor figure for orpheus, taking him under his wing and guiding him down hadestown. While it doesn't have to be a mentor figure, i still want to keep a connection between tim and the hermes stand in. I was also thinking gertrude (who knew sasha and had expected her to be archivist, was an archivist and would fit a narrator role) or gerry (served under the eye, also has ties to statements and stuff) as Hermes. The problem is they have never really interacted in canon, though it's a degree of separation closer than, say, annabelle haha.
Melanie is another interesting one because she does know Tim, and is one of the few to remember old Sasha. Plus she's a youtuber she knows how to narrate lmao. Though she doesn't feel as right to the role as gertrude
