THE AU HAS BEEN MENTIONED!! THHEEE AU HAS BEEN MENTIONEDDDD AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH EVERYBODY CALM DOWWNNNNNN, CALM DOWWWNNNNNN -says to myself-

-WHEEZE- but in all legitness, I didn't realize this was missed and wanted 🤣🤣🤣 So I am sO EXCITED TO TALK ABOUT IT LOL

I will write you a quick little somethin something to picture, Anon since you brought up T H E AU lol Alright here go~

So there will come a time that Norton will have to go with Alice into the main human capital city which means he has to do the biology tank thing to become human for a time 👀 So he is standing there outside of his tank in just a towel and staring at it like its an old foe. While Alice is there from the human observing area which is about chest height to Norton. So she walks out from the double glassed protected room and just stands there on the bridge next to him Alice: "You've got this! It'll be done before you know it~" -trying to be positive- Norton: "I have to go in a tank....where I'm locked in and won't be let out until I am as human as I can physically get, then taken into a random empty room with monitors and bright lights and loud noises where I will be in excruciating pain until I have the strength enough to move again and then they get clothes on ya and throw ya out towards wherever you're supposed to go" -frustrated that this is even a thing- Alice: "...I can still do this mission on my own, you know...that is still on the table...you don't have to put yourself through this..." -still feeling terrible about all this and that its her fault he feels he needs to join her- Norton: ".......Don't whimp out on me now. I am not letting you do all this alone, just give me a sec to whine, damn." //affectionate and then gently pokes her, for her to not be upset PFF -Alice finding his switch up endearing heh-

After he is out of the tank and reunited with Alice, she would need to help Norton into a vehicle and then take him straight to her place. Once there he will be sick in the bathroom for a while and laying on the hard cold floor cause he feels like his skin is burning up. Alice would be administering medicines and such until he is finally well enough to function in 24 hours. But: -Norton sitting on the couch with the darkest bags under his eyes and looking completely defeated- "I don't know how Frederick does this all the time....this sucks ass..." -Alice seated next to him and tired from all the stress-: "I wonder if it truly does gets better with experience..." Norton: "yea, I'm startin' to doubt that..." Alice: "agreed..."

The switch back isn't nearly as bad and is more of a 'relief' feeling, so at least he won't have a repeat of that horrid reaction until he has to go back to that city again pff

but anyways it is likely during this time. while they are in the city together for a while, aka he is human sized, that they try for a kiss~ so first kissth time heheheheh

Once Norton is returned to normal though they might be a bit awkward with each other after the blatant in their face reminder of their predicament lol that he is a much larger and different species of humanoid compared to Alice pff With Alice watching his pointed ears droop at the reminder when he see her again after returning back to normal. the bbys. back to being just friends again so they can get back to work without the looming awkwardness ;;

But just this idea of being stranded in the Arctic, the food is bad from botched canning so they are all experiencing botulism and scurvy, (EDIT: I forgot the other poison that was killing them LEAD POISONING) and to top it off they are facing off this nightmare creature that is killing everyone, likely more of a metaphor for what is going on, with their minds creating this thing to make sense of it all, but is very real to them. Then these two who were at serious odds at the beginning end up having the strongest bond in this entire thing, its MAGIC I LOVE IT! The loyalty and partnership is unmatched my G O S H 👏👏👏👏

Just imagining Benefactor and Inference like this, is EASY MODE oh MY WORD Benefactor learning to respect Inference and earning his undying loyalty, no more 'lol's this is serious Benefactor leaning on Inference for strength while his body is weakening Inference keeping who he can alive for as long as he can Inference being there for Benefactor every step of the way

For the dragon's AU, what would happen if Alice found out Norton was a dragon.

OOOOOOOOOO LETS DO THIS THING 👀 So my first thoughts are that Norton definitely wouldn't purposely reveal his dragon form unless it couldn't be helped for some reason, or deemed it necessary I think during their time together, of him basically following her around everywhere, he didn't transform a singular time and I can see that paying a toll on him 👀 like using a magic spell for W A Y too long So I am sure Alice will be seeing these signs and wondering what the cause is. Wondering if he is cursed and has to deal with chronic issues that are progressing as time continues only for SOMETHING to happen and the truth comes out~

Now for the actual switch and how it happens 🤔

Maybe he gets injured and that is the last straw his back can take, so the human form just breaks and he turns back into a dragon or he is given an ultimatum, show his true self or something happens to Alice. Or Alice is just thrown from a building or something so he chooses to transform to help her 🤔 Either way, him finally showing his dragon form would be dope lol

As for Alice's reaction, I think it would depend on how the transformation happens, but I can see her ultimately being cool with it in the end regardless lol

But I can see her being concerned at first, I am sure there are ideas and beliefs about dragons, that would make a person concerned when met face to face with one, that would be hard to break. But then all those little hints that Norton would drop in his actions or words would start to pop up in her mind as she pieces it all together. -Like how he tends to hold onto things and is possessive over stuff he deems as his -When he sleeps he just surrounds himself with everything that is in the room they are staying in, just bringing it all into a big mess nest lol After that first night Alice made sure she always has enough money for two rooms cause she aint dealing with that -wheeze- -How he can smell food, usually bread, from ridiculously far away -and How he is like a 'magnet' (heh) for finding minerals The list goes on honestly LOL so she would come around and be able to drop the taboo-ness of it all

B U T

Norton likely notices the hesitation at first and then decides to sabotage the entire 'relationship' they had in an effort to protect himself and continue to believe he is better alone and use all this as further proof that humans are the worst.

so yea that is gonna have to be fixed heh

*thought of a scene for a fic that I am going to write*

Minty...Minty...figurately speaking is it..possible for Norton to admit when his wrong but doesn't know how to voice it so he writes it instead?

And uh how would he um...react to the news that his turning into an uncontrollable dragon? while the person who tells the news to him is kind of...mocking him?(dragon can be temperpently sometimes)

Heheheheheheheheheheeee~ I do think it is possible for him to admit when he is wrong but ONLY towards people he respects and that list is well, s h o r t lol But I can absolutely see him writing an apology note especially if its for Alice 👀 for example: The Note reads: "I got you all wrong, you aren't too bad" aka 'he is sorry he threw a pickaxe at her back in the forest before. oh, and sorry for drugging her too' LOOOL

She is literally the only one in Da Capo that I can see him being remotely sorry to -wheeezzee- everyone else can go eat toothpaste 🤣🤣

The idea of someone delivering the news in a horrid way like that, just pointing and finding humor in it and saying he deserves it and how its 'poetic justice' UHG GOSH that would be infuriating but I think the news would be such a blow that he can't even get mad about it 😔

"A kind heart that was trampled by the world and not allowed to blossom"

I think if he was ever put in a position where he could feel safe, stable, and over all treated with love long enough to where he can open up to accept it, we would see a very different Norton ;; A Norton that can finally be himself 😭 He has been plagued by hardship, danger, and loss at every corner of his life and yet still tried to be good and kept trying for that hope of freedom one day ;; Then he starts coughing, and reality starts setting in 'he is running out of time' and desperation takes over ;; Desperation changes a person 😔 drives them to do things they wouldn't have ever thought to do before, and that can be dangerous when left unchecked orz but the fact that there is still hope that he can wake up speaks volumes on how strong his inner self is, that his true self has survived through it all and still willing to break out and take over again when given permission to 😭

I think he desperately needs a stable environment that he can make safe. It will take time for him to sift though the behaviors that are a result of trauma and what is truly him and he would need someone to help with that. He has zero faith in people and would need at least one to show him that it is okay to be good and still survive this world ;;

To slide in some Nortalice in here LOL: this is why I love nortalice so much cause Alice could bring out that side of him, show him the way/that he is allowed to be good and still thrive, and she is stubborn enough to stick with this long enough for Norton to finally accept~
