I originally posted this on my old blog. Since posting that, I've found other foods, drinks and ingredients. As of now this list is updated with everything found in media released as of Oct 2023.

Like the original, this is still a very long post that contains all canonical desserts, dishes, drinks, ingredients, and sauces. Unlike the original, I could not list canonically suggested food and ingredients, nor every codex, item, letter, ect in the sources. Because it was too long. I did add them to the individual post.

Like in the individual posts, the list has the country of origins next to each item and any relevant information. Such as ingredients, use, notes, or trivia. For the canonically suggested foods and drinks I list what their real world uses are for your reference as to what they might be used for in Thedas.

Raider Queen’s Bread of Many Tongues - Created by the Raider Queen, this bread calls for flour, baking powder, salt, butter, brown sugar, molasses, eggs, bananas. The creator calls for Par Vollen bananas but another version of the recipe says Rivaini bananas are an acceptable replacement. (Rivain)

Pig Oat Mash - A constant dish on The Hanged Man menu, a popular hangover cure if washed down with brandy spiked cider. This warming porridge contains apples, dried salt pork or smoked bacon, dried rolled oats, berries, ale or water (Kirkwall)

Poison Stings - "Poison stings" is the colloquial name. Orange peels coated in chocolate, a crunchy yet chew texture that is both sweet and sour. A favored snack of Dorian Pavus when traveling from Tevinter to Ferelden. (Tevinter)

Hearth Cakes - Described as a common fare where they are baked on an iron griddle. They are made with halla butter (can be subbed for goat or cow butter), flour, hardwood ash (can be replaced with baking powder), cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, sugar, mixed dried fruit (like cranberries, raisins, and currants), an egg, and milk. Described as baeing crispy and flaky on the outside, but remains moist on the inside. They are grilled on one side and then are flipped over, ensuring they are all crisp and bown. (Dalish)

The Blessed Apple - A pie made by a small cloister of Chantry sisters tending to the orchard, they use the windfall apples and share the pies freely; as well as the apples. The ingredients are flour, salt, butter, water, apples (golden apples from Lady’s Orchard preferred but others are acceptable substitutions), brown sugar, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves. Blancmange - A white pudding made of milk or heavy cream, its name is Orlesian for "white eating". Because of the mild, sweet taste it can have a variety of toppings such as toasted almonds, ribbons of fresh mangos, red grape compote, cherry saus, or Vivienne's preferred plating of white chocolate curls with whole jasmine flowers. Dragon’s Piss - The name is probably figurative, but no one knows for sure. BioWare gives the “recipe” for Dragon Piss as “1 oz light rum, 1 oz dark rum, filled with iced tea”. "Dragon's Breath" is offered as an alternative name for this drink as it is served while lit on fire in the glass and burns on the way down.

The Golden Nug - Made with a base of effervescent white Seleney wine, sweetened with a dash of West Hill brandy and a splash of pomegranate juice. Muddled with raspberries and garnished with a sprig of Royal Elfroot. The goal is to imitate the soft pink colour of a nug.

The Heart of Spring - A “restorative” drink from Verchiel made with violets. (Orlais)

The Hissing Drake - Mix of cinnamon-infused whiskey, darl Llomerryn rum, and Hirol's Lava Burst.

My Favorite Daemyra Fanfics

Here's an updated* and better curated list of my (very personal) favorite Daemyra fics, WIPs and finished, in no particular order. I offer a few words on each on them, mostly my own opinions and impressions, please click on them if you want a proper synopsis. Other than 100% finished stories, I tried to stick to fics that either stand on their own despite having room to continue, or are frequently or regularly updated, so there's less chances you get invested in something that might never get a proper ending.

I'll welcome and thank any recs too, ofc, I'm always eager to read new material and depictions of them, especially (almost exclusively, in fact) modern AUs. I'm open to different family dynamics as well, especially siblings, biological or otherwise (I include two great ones here, btw). Currently, I'm leaning toward more mature stories, with a Rhaenyra facing adult conflicts rather than just age gap PWP with feelings. I'm still a smut enjoyer though, don't get me wrong, lmao.

Well, nothing more to add for now, so... here we go!

Back, Baby by velvetwoman: Modern AU. Heart-wrenching, but beautiful one-shot. It's kinda finished, the ending is really bittersweet, but author promised a follow-up that hasn't come out, though I refuse to lose hope just yet (I just need to believe, please let me be). It features underage sex, so be warned.

entropy by firecollide: Modern AU. WIP. Musical references, especially Arctic Monkeys. Starts as a texting fic, and turns into a Daemon/Rhaenyra POV multichapter piece. They get together/fall in love quite fast, although it gets quite angsty at a point and remains like that. I only recommend if you're patient and want more than just fluff and smut, character growth specifically. Best Daemon depiction for me, complicated and heartbreaking, because I do relate to Rhaenyra a lot as well.

Ānogar Hūra by sweetestsorrows (katschako): Modern Mafia AU. Finished. Succession, violence, murder, betrayal, lots and lots and lots of smut. I particularly love how their relationship develops from them getting off on fighting and exasperating one another to them falling in love but keeping that feisty and explosive dynamic in bed. Daemon is a very strong dom in this, though deep down he's a very caring and considerate partner.

Our Violent Ends by grandlovescheme: Vampire AU. Finished. Also modern. Or kind of. The starting point is in canon timeline, but the story stretches across space and time because, of course, our two favs are not exactly mortal anymore. Enemies to lovers trope, and as we all know, those are the type of stories in which the smut is the hottest and most satisfying you could ever hope for. I also strongly recommend all of this author's works, she's very talented and will be appearing again in this list.

Passion driven by ginvael: Modern AU. Finished. This is a really fun fic that involves cheating, a "has his cake and eats it too" version of Daemon that's infuriating and sort of endearing at the same time. Mysaria is a really cool character in this, I personally missed an insight on how her character ended, but the lack of it doesn't really take anything away from the story as a whole, so no biggie.

High Hopes by grandlovescheme: Modern AU. Finished. I'm not quite sure, but I think this is the fic that started a sort of subgenre of Daemyra fics with the "Rhaenyra runs away from home for x reason and finds shelter in her estranged uncle's home" trope. Both characters have their issues and are both beautifully written from beginning to end. It's a very slow burn, but it sure pays off, so your patience will be rewarded.

a safe space / a warm hug by themilkteeth: Modern AU. Finished. Sugar daddy story, but with a different daddy (Daemyra endgame tho, don't get confused). I love how things are described in this, the colors, atmosphere, smells, tastes. Just a one-shot, but it honestly feels like more than that in the end.

If I Could, I'd Get You the Moon by grandlovescheme: Modern AU. Finished. Daemyra are siblings and I've never imagined I'd be into this the way I am, but here we are. The push and pull between these two is "deliriously" fabulous, the smut is hot af, and the way the characters act feels so frustratingly real it hurts me and gives me life at the same time. I'm in love with Rhaenyra in this one, she's not only the gaslight-gatekeep-girlboss we all know and love, she's also unapologetically kinky in such a pure and wholesome way, it's truly fascinating. She's everything, really. Also, Baelon and Alyssa couple goals.

Bad Vibes by sweetestsorrows (katschako): Modern AU. Finished. Twins at college. From the amazing author of Ānogar Hūra, filled with angst, guilt, passion, jealousy and all those equally beautiful and nasty feelings. Another one-shot that feels much more than that and could totally have a follow-up, in my humble opinion.

Violet-Eyed Jealousy by ginvael: Canon Divergence AU. Finished. A pretty interesting premise, with low honor Daemyra going for it despite knowingly hurting Daemon's OC son's feelings. Very twisted and with a bittersweet, partly tragic ending, but definitely worth the time.

Dream a Little Dream of Me by sweetestsorrows (katschako): Incubus AU. Finished. Similar to Vampire AU in that both fics start in canon timeline (this one follows book canon to a T). Daemon is doomed to live for all eternity, never able to find peace until he finds Rhaenyra again to try to make things up to her after all that went down in the war and their tragic canon endings. It's a fascinating story, haunting, emotional and beautiful.

Here is all the LGBTQ+ representation in Valve games so far (Canon/implied/speculation) with as many reasonings I could find! This is incredibly long !! The mega list!! Feel free to comment any other canon/implied characters or information that I missed and I'll add it on!! Same with anything I got wrong. Just have sources or reasonings!!

Any sources are linked within the text, there are no images so the post isn’t overly cluttered than it already is (especially how characters are very out of order)!! Many of these are subjective and some reasonings here are not 100% accurate but I'm trying to include as much possible representation as I can. Some are very silly!

GLaDOS - bisexual, asexual (canon)

Unlike popular theories, GLaDOS isn’t Chell’s mom, confirmed by Erik Wolpaw (Portal Writer) explaining a cut bit and Makani (Portal artist) responding to theories (at the end). GLaDOS is said to romantically like Chell in the Final Hours of Portal 2 such as originally supposed to accusing Chell of cheating on her with a core, Want You Gone is called a "breakup song about a computerized voice falling out of love with a mute girl", Chell and GLaDOS were supposed to sing a duet, and they’re referred to as having a twisted dysfunctional romance. In interviews, such as in one before Portal 2 released, GLaDOS was called Chell's jealous ex girlfriend, Jonathan Coulton saying Want You Gone was a breakup song (twice), and a writer saying the game’s focus was on the intimate story between the player and Chell. It’s implied in her songs such as the lines "even though you broke my heart and killed me" / "I used to want you dead now I only want you gone" / “I was always fond of you, Although you're not clever. You will never know how much I care”. And also her voice lines like her learning to reanimate Chell when she dies, being curious about Chell's behavior, forgiving her in Lego Dimensions, various things about the Companion Cube (like potentially representing her feelings to Chell), etc. In Poker Night 2, she has a line possibly alluding to Chell, “I cheat all the time, but only with people I care about”. Not as canon/actually a thing but one of the former developers (sort of?) made a gay joke with her, where he reposted an image of a Half-Life crate being cut open to reveal a rainbow cake, he captioned it “GLaDOS’ secret”. For liking men, GLaDOS dates Claptrap in Poker Night 2. Jonathon Coulton, writer of GlaDOS’ songs, said about the Lego Dimensions Portal DLC that GLaDOS probably had feelings for Batman. Implying she’s asexual, GLaDOS has a cut line in the Cooperative Testing Initiative in which she says human reproduction is ridiculous (not as related but the “testing euphoria” probably relates more to an addiction than to sexual desire). Also in an interview with Kiwitalkz, Ellen Mclain described GLaDOS’ voice in Still Alive to be “asexual”, I assume this means because it isn’t meant to be “seductive” compared to how it’s described as sounding in her boss battle. Caroline - biromantic, asexual (implied)

Caroline is biromantic/asexual as she is apart of GLaDOS/GLaDOS’ conscience was built off of her. Also the possibility Caroline could've dated Cave in her time at Aperture (The writers never clarified, just saying they were never married but there might be “more of a story there”. Although it’s not likely because Valve’s artist Makani once said she found shipping the two weird due to knowing the writers, implying they didn’t use it). Caroline and Cave’s art for the Steam 20th anniversary was done over a meme of a couple. The "Say goodbye Caroline" / "goodbye Caroline!" Lines are likely a reference to the 40s show Burns and Allen, who were a married couple. I've seen people interpret the line "married to science" as her being asexual/aromantic or sapphic as she's taken by her occupation and not openly a man like typical of the era.

Chell - sapphic (canon)

Although she doesn’t reciprocate GLaDOS’ feelings at all, I’m still including her (and showing some of the same arguments for GLaDOS). GLaDOS gets called her ex girlfriend (as stated in the Final Hours of Portal 2) and Chell was originally supposed to have a duet with her in Portal 2 before they settled on Want You Gone. Stated in an article by GameInformer, Chell was supposed to get married to a Turret (which was specifically called a bride, the turrets also refer to each other with feminine terms). This isn’t as canon but in the Official Portal 2 Guide Book there was a question to some Valve employees on who would win if Chell and Alyx were in a fight and two people said they'd probably just hang out and go to a bar (I like to think that implies something lol). Same thing of not being canon but in Count to Three, a Valve fan-song (that got approval to have Gabe Newell and Ellen McLain in it, so- in a way official???), Chell is drawn as dancing with Gordon Freeman. A little bonus, I headcanon she’s transfeminine because the original Portal protagonist was male before they used Chell! They aren’t the same character but I like to think they are (if the guy wasn’t white). Fun fact, not as queer but Chell’s gender wasn’t chosen for any specific reason and was randomly chosen while GLaDOS was female because they already had the plan of using Ellen Mclain.

Turret Bride - lesbian (canon)

There was a cut scene in Portal 2 where Chell would save a group of Turrets and help them so in return they gave a Turret off to marry Chell, who was called the bride turret.

Turrets - sapphic (implied)

The standard turrets themselves are sapphic because most are girls or at least use she/her pronouns (besides Randolph, and probably the defective turrets). They had valentines cards to each other, the Turret Wife serenade can be brought up as well.

Cave - transgender, pansexual (potential)

In Aperture Desk Job, there is a billboard with Cave's face on it with specific parts having the colors of the transgender flag and the pansexual flag. In Perpetual Testing Initiative there are lines implying (in a sense?) he could've liked his assistant Greg (Similar to how Caroline and Cave could’ve had a relationship). There is also a universe where Cave was a trans woman, meaning in a universe Cave is a trans man as he says the possibilities of universes is infinite. In Portal 2 there is implication he could've liked Caroline (they get a lot of strange implication. And once again, Caroline and Cave’s art for the Steam 20th anniversary was done over a meme of a couple.). In both PTI and the base game he makes remarks towards the hypothetical test subjects hearing it (as they're prerecorded), calling them a handsome devil or complimenting them. In the DotA announcer pack, he often makes remarks finding various characters attractive (or commenting on how characters of either gender aren’t wearing pants??). Also in the DotA announcer pack, Cave mentions having a first wife (implying he had other marriages) Also in that he says he doesn’t like Greg’s wife which if believing that Cave likes Greg then that would make sense.

Cavina Johnson - transgender (implied)

Cavina is the transfeminine version of Cave in Perpetual Testing Initiative. She is heard protesting her gender and trying to get people to believe she is a woman.

Sally Sue Greg - transgender (implied)

Sally Sue Greg is the transfeminine version of Greg in an alternate universe. She's heard talking with Cavina about the matter of people not seeing them as women.

Greg - transgender, achillean (potential?)

Greg might be transmasculine as seen above with Cave, he too had a transfeminine version of himself in Perpetual Testing Initiative. (Big stretch, probably not the intention) how he acts with Cave could also potentially be romantic. Though he also has a daughter, and in the DotA announcer pack, Cave mentions how Greg has a wife (who Cave does not like).

Bendy - nonbinary (potential)

Bendy was never given a gender in Perpetual Testing Initiative and only has the little stick figure sprite. Same for other Aperture universe games such as The Lab.

Charlie - nonbinary, bisexual (implied)

Charlie in Aperture Desk Job gets no identifying features of any gender and Charlie is a very gender-neutral name. Grady also asks them if they have a wife or husband and then says he'd like to meet them eventually.

Grady - gay (potential)

Charlie and Grady are most likely meant to mimic the relationship that Chell and GLaDOS have.

Cores - agender (canon)

Most (but not all) Cores and robots in the Portal games that you see do not get assigned a gender (or get it/its used on them).

Atlas and Pbody - queer (potentially?)

In The Final Hours of Portal 2 they were implied as a couple. One of Valves artists, Makani, made human designs and made them both the same gender, also stating the robots are pretty gender-neutral. Although in an interview Chet Faliszek said that Atlas was male and P-Body was female. Also you can color-pick the aro/ace flag off of them. Portal is literally aro/ace now lol!

Mel - sapphic (potential)

Mel and Chell were originally co-op test partners together, if following the same pattern as the co-op bots, then they could’ve been romantic.

There’s a clipboard in various areas of the games that says “Gender Neutral, Polyamory-Friendly Partnership Project”.

Half-Life

Gman - genderless, asexual (canon?)

There's a line in Half-Life 1 from the Nihilanth that says Gman is not man like Gordon is "you are man. He is not man". Gman isn't really human so I don't think gender or sexual orientation matters but a bonus is you can also color-pick the asexual colors from him.

Alyx - bisexual (probable)

Alyx was meant to have a crush on a resistance member who's gender was not confirmed. Alyx in Half-Life 2 is shown to develop a crush on Gordon Freeman. Like I said before this doesn’t really count but in the Official Portal 2 Guide Book thing with the question to some Valve employees on if Chell and Alyx were in a fight and two people said they’d hang out and go to a bar instead.

Cut Resistance member - nonbinary (possibly)

(Same as above) There was a cut resistance member for HL2e3 that Alyx Vance would get a crush on. They were deaf so Alyx learned sign language to communicate with them. They later on go away from Alyx to someplace else to fight the Combine and Alyx was left to use her sign language with Dog. Gabe Newell did not specify the gender of this character.

Barney Calhoun - bisexual (possibly)

Barney in Half-Life: Blue Shift is implied to have a girlfriend based on his locker but someone suggested he might be bisexual because of a line to Gordon in Half-Life 2, “You're in pretty good shape for a man of science”.

Technically you could also count many of the humans in Half-Life to being asexual due to the suppression field.

Adrian Shephard is another potential gender queer character because him as a person is meant to be up to player interpretation

The Lambda symbol, in Half-Life’s context is used to represent radioactive decay, but the Lambda symbol has been used historically as a gay pride symbol.

Team Fortress 2

Miss Pauling - lesbian (canon)

Miss Pauling was confirmed lesbian by Jay Pinkerton, one of Valves writers. He said she’s gay but all the current female characters are antagonistic to her, making it not obvious, as well as if they randomly included it directly, it would feel forced. She's shown in Expiration Date, her voice lines, and the comics to not like Scout back or ever date him. She goes to many women themed events in her time off in the Tough Break update. She had an ad listing in the Teufort Reader on the TF2 website in which she was looking for someone to go on a date with her but did not specify the gender of the partner, unlike Scout who specified he wanted to date a woman. Ashly Burch, Pauling's voice actress, came out as pansexual and added in her coming out post that many of the characters she voiced were apart of LGBTQ (if it means anything for her other Valve roles, she is also in DotA as Dark Willow and in Portal as the out-of-breath core). She was also apart of Expiration Dates writing team so Pauling’s queerness could totally be intentional from her as she is a writer on many other queer TV and video games. In the TF2 comics, Pauling is repulsed by Soldier being naked but was unbothered by Zhanna, possibly implied to develop a crush on her. Miss Pauling might also have a crush on the Administrator by some of her remarks towards her in the comics (And in the possible comic 7 leak documented by Richter Overtime where they almost kiss??). The only evidence against lesbian Pauling is TF2′s comic artist, Makani, saying in an ask about her Pauling sexuality ideas that in Expiration Date, Pauling was planned to date one of the other mercs as a reveal at the end but it was scrapped, meaning if they went back to this then she’d be bisexual. Medic - bisexual (canon)

Medic and Heavy being a couple is heavily implied! The main TF2 comic artist, Makani, has posted a lot of Heavy x Medic art in the past (slight nsfw warning if you click on the links), as well as another TF2 comic artist Kanataria. Medic and Heavy are shown to be extremely close in their voice lines, (Heavy has more lines for Medic than everyone else, they’re a lot kinder as well), official sfms (they're usually paired next to each other), and in the comics. In the comics they become the implied parents of the monkey from Classic Heavy (and they stand together on the side with the other couples). Heavy had a line to Medic for the Kiss King item saying to kiss him. Robin Atkin Downes, Medic's voice actor, at Pax West 2022 said that he thought Valve should make a love story for Medic and Heavy and later on as Medic "just for the record, I love Heavy!" And posted it to his Twitter. Heavy and Sniper's voice actors replied supporting this decision. Medic and Heavy’s actors also improved a date, once reaching a certain donation goal on the Kritzkast streams. Heavy - gay (implied)

Heavy is gay for the reasons for Medic as above, but he has never seemed romantically interested in the other women shown in the series (probably seeing them more like family he should protect).

Pyro - genderqueer (canon)

Pyro in their updates and in Valve interviews has gotten all he/she/they pronouns used on her. He also was joked at having a menstrual cycle in the comics. But they also have a male voice actor and masculine concept art. There was also a lot of implications of different genders for her, such as in Meet the Pyro with the female symbol in Pyroland and showing him liking stereotypical girlish things (plus the “he’s not here, is she?” line in the official captioning/transcript) or during the engineer update, a text with Pyro on the homepage saying “why don’t you give her a shot” (sometimes saying “him” instead), or the Pyro’s description hinting at them not being a man. Their cosmetics can be pretty androgynous. Many character’s use different pronouns or gendered insults on occasion in-game. One thing that inspired people to have the theory they are a girl is when a file of an unused female face turned up around the time of the Sniper vs Spy files, but never confirmed what it was used for. Also during the Sniper vs Spy update, one of the TF2 blog posts said "When Pyro hears about this she'll be inconsolable." but a few hours later was changed to having no pronoun. In a QnA, John Patrick Lowrie, Snipers voice actor, was asked what Pyro's gender was and in response he said Pyro was beyond gender. Pyro’s voice actor also uses different pronouns on Pyro (usually he/they). Besides Sniper, Pyro was the only mercenary to not receive genderbent concept art. Demoman has the line "If I wasn' the man I was I'd kiss ye!" when thanking someone (and apparently in the Spanish version it translates to "If I weren't so macho I'd kiss you", if that adds anything). Also a lot of people interpret his lines to Soldier as romantic coded- I’m acknowledging that yes they’re platonic and that’s great if they are! Of course friendships exist and are equally as important but I thought people pointing romance out was interesting! -Voice lines include: ”I love you, man...", "DOMINATED! But you're a good man and I love you.", "EVERYBODY! I DON'T LIKE THIS MAN. HE IS A SOULLESS MONSTER! I do like you, it's just for show." and not to just Soldier I found this "Dominated! Accordin' to unicorn law, yer me bloody wife now". For liking woman there’s the line, previously mentioned above, where Demo tells Medic he’s gonna have sex with his wife, "Dominated! ...And I've been shaggin' yer wife! Hahah!"

Soldier - transgender, bisexual (possibly)

My friend brought this one up but Soldier might be transmasculine, as people who are unidentifiable for a name, mainly used in war, will be named Jane Doe (for female) or John Doe (for male) based on genitals. Soldier's name is Jane Doe, but he still refers to himself as a man, meaning he could be transmasculine. He later uses the name John Doe which could be him changing it. And in the comics he gets married to Heavy’s sister Zhanna.

Spy - genderfluid, polyamorous (implied)

Spy has the line "I like my teams like I like my romances: in groups of six". In the Scream Fortress event for 2022, there is a sticker on the briefcase for Spy's taunt, Travel Agent, that has him in pinup type attire with a more feminine/sexualized figure for both Red and Blu team. In the Steam 20th anniversary art, both Red and Blu Spy were drawn in the blue-black, white-gold dresses.

The Administrator - aroace spectrum (potential?)

Administrator shows no interest in relationships of any sort (besides once having a relationship with Saxton Hale). Someone suggested she was aplatonic, which can fall into aroace categories.

Merasmus - bigender, asexual (implied)

Merasmus in the comics would have feminine terms or titles used on him (for wearing a dress) but never corrected anyone (while still using he/him pronouns on himself). Soldier has a voice line calling Merasmus an enchantress (used for a woman who uses magic, or used for a woman who is attractive). In a comic he implied he was ace by saying his blood was that of a virgin.

Redmon and Blutarch Mann - intersex or trans?? (almost)

In the comic Blood Brothers, they consider creating a pregnancy machine to continue their family line and to continue the fight over gravel, but they are stopped when Gray Mann kills them.

TFC Pyro - transfeminine, intersex (canon)

Beatrice (TFC Pyro) is canonically a trans woman as in the original Team Fortress game she was assumed a guy, having a male voice actor and her design was mostly covered up. She then is a woman in the comics. She technically got gender reassignment surgery from Medic when he put baboon uterus' inside everyone!

TFC Soldier - gay, intersex (implied?)

Ross (TFC Soldier) is implied to like Greg in the TF2 comics before they die by Pyro. The pair talking emotionally about going to make orphanage together and following their dreams.

TFC Spy - gay, intersex (implied?)

Greg (TFC Spy) is the same as the spot above.

TFC Heavy - intersex (canon)

Medic directly told TFC Heavy that he put a baboon uterus inside of him. The procedure works and Medic is left with a baby baboon!

TFC Demoman - intersex (canon)

Same with TFC Heavy, Greg (TFC Demoman) is directly said to have a baboon uterus!

Team Fortress Classic team - intersex (canon)

Like previously mentioned, the TFC team had baboon uterus' put inside them from the TF2 Medic. Most of the team is assumed to be assigned male at birth and assuming none of them noticed this surgery, Medic probably kept in both parts, making them all intersex.

One of Valve’s artists, Makani, used to post a lot of queer art of the mercenaries. Many were genderbent, (or just remained cis/gay or polyamorous). Examples include Spy x Sniper, Heavy x Medic x Medic’s wife, ect.

Left4dead

Ellis - bisexual (canon)

Ellis says "If the laws of nature would allow it, I would bear that man's children." Towards a race car driver. Some believe the voice lines towards Keith make it seem like the two could be in a relationship. Ellis does develop a crush on Zoey, though. Someone suggested his voice line "My name is Ellis, some people call me El. But I really prefer Ellis 'cause El kinda sounds like a girl's name. But if you prefer to call me El, I guess you can." can relate to being transgender.

Nick - bisexual (possible)

Someone informed me that Nick having a ring on his left pinky finger could be used as a gay sign. Although he has rings on many different fingers, the pinky ring could still indicate he’s MLM in some way (although it can also be used as an indicator of a gang, which we know he was probably apart of one). Nick has been divorced from a woman at least once, going by some of his voice lines.

Rochelle is sometimes referred to with male pronouns for certain actions, but it seems to have been an oversight of forgetting to add female variants.

The Church Guy when revealed can be a Hunter, Smoker, or Boomer of either gender

Dota

Storm Spirit - gay (canon)

Storm Spirit is implied to not like women in his voice lines (Batrider also says his bat likes fruit when the bat hurts Storm Spirit). Him being gay was confirmed by an employee on Steam on a Steam forum.

Legion Commander - transgender, lesbian (canon)

The Legion Commander was originally male in DotA 1/World of Warcraft (?) but was later changed and remained a girl in DotA 2 and it’s comics. Legion in the DotA comic, Call to Arms, is hinted at dating a male Satyr named Belasanno, but this is contradicted when Legion was confirmed lesbian by a Valve employee on a Steam forum (where a user stated she was lesbian and a Valve employee marked it as correct). Not canon but the Valve artist Makani made a post drawing DotA characters as Undertale characters and Legion was drawn as Undyne, who is lesbian as well. (and if you’re curious who Alphys was, it’s WInter Wyvern/Auroth)

Mirana - bisexual (canon)

Mirana worships and is in love with Selemene (other potential relationships were Marci, Wei, or Luna?). She is in the anime called “Usurpers whore”, the usurper being Selemene in this situation. She does fall in love with Davion the Dragon Knight, and is implied to have his child.

Luna - lesbian (canon) Luna worships Selemene, Selemene multiple times saying she loved her and Luna says she is fully hers. Luna is hinted at not liking men in the anime when she rejects all advances from Hieronimo. Later when Luna, Davion, Hieronimo, and Mirana meet up Davion asks what’s going on, Hieronimo responds that it’s a lovers quarrel (I assumed about Mirana/Luna, but it was probably about Mirana/Davion or Hieronimo inserting himself into it). Luna seems to have some kind of feelings towards Mirana, at times dedicating her life to her. She is very intense about serving her.

Zeus - bisexual, polyamorous (canon)

Zeus in DotA 2 is just Zeus from Greek mythology, who was known to sleep with both women and men, usually multiple at a time.

Queen of Pain - pansexual (probably)

Queen of Pain is a succubus, and while succubi are usually attracted to men, many can be bisexual.

Anti-Mage - asexual (implied)

Anti-Mage is a monk and monks aren’t supposed to have sexual interactions so I’m using that to say he’s ace. Also a Queen of Pain line to him is "Oh, Anti-Mage, I'll make you break your vows." furthering that fact.

Lina - transgender (kind of)

Lina in DotA 1 was a male character named Link Inverse. They were inspired by the character Lina Inverse from Slayer. She was later changed to female.

Fymryn - pansexual, polyamorous (canon)

Fymryn in the Dota 2 Dragons Blood anime is seen in a polyamorous relationship with Adara, Dyfed, and Idwal. Adara being a woman and Dyfed and Idwal being men. When she is Mene, she is shown to be very loving to everyone.

Adara - bisexual, polyamorous (canon)

Same as above for the poly relationship.

Dyfed - bisexual, polyamorous (canon)

Same as above.

Idwal - bisexual, polyamorous (canon)

Same as above.

Selemene - pansexual, polyamorous (canon)

Selemene has very intimate worshipers of any gender, previously was dating Invoker, she is also an elf, in which the elven race is naturally pansexual and polyamorous.

Invoker - polyamorous

As previously mentioned, all Dota elves were confirmed polyamorous in the anime.

Mene - pansexual, polyamorous (canon)

Mene is the goddess that came before Fymryn was reincarnated as her. Similar to Selemene, she is seen with multiple gendered worshippers.

Most elves in DotA are confirmed polyamorous. Fymryn says that the elves find one on one relationships strange. Other main elves are Filomena and Invoker. They are presumably polyamorous although neither have been shown to have romantic relationships (besides Invoker with Selemene). I can’t find a clip of the scene but someone posted the quotes of Fymryn asking Davion about monogamy. (adding just the general idea of elves since there are many shown that are unnamed)

Pugna - archillian (maybe) This one is more joking but relating to the Undertale crossover art, Pugna was drawn as Sans and Sans is very aro/ace coded (I’m still learning DotA lore so I’m using the Undertale post almost as a basis? For this one anyway). I saw some people say Pugna was gay due to some voice lines but I haven’t found them.

Black Market Overseer - queer

The black market overseer in DotA: Dragon’s Blood is incredibly androgynous with slight drag (?) elements. They have a masculine voice but a more feminine look and could easily be interpreted as both male or female in appearance.

Hieronimo - bisexual (implied)

In the anime he makes flirting comments to both men and women (Luna and Invoker)

In the black market Mirana and Marci pass a room with a bunch of people having sex. It was pairs of multiple genders and some of the pairs were polyamorous.

Counter-Strike

There are characters missing from this (from both the Asian and American versions of the series, apparently), but this is what I’ve found so far?? Please let me know if you find anything else! And yeah before y’all start about how gay people shouldn't exist in a terrorist game. Yeah. It doesn’t matter! But it matters even less when you sit here arguing with us about it. Some people just like the character lore okay. We aren’t supporting terrorism or whatever.

Trapper - transgender?

Many people thought this character was transgender due to the fact that when first released, she used the male variant of voice lines. It was later updated to the female version. The design is very gender ambiguous.

Safecracker Voltzmann - lesbian (implied)

While no voice lines make this apparent, Voltzmann’s design is similar to butch lesbians. She’s very masculine in appearance and has short colored hair which is a popular stereotype among gay people. Her personality is very fun and eccentric, she’s described as being weird, this could be like how queer people are othered for being themselves and seen as different.

This also doesn’t count as much but in the Steam 20th anniversary art, there are two Counter-Strike dudes doing the Barbie and Ken mugshot meme. Usually people used this meme for ships (as well as Ken has a crush on Barbie in the movie).

Deadlock

Pocket - nonbinary (canon)

Pocket, also called Arin Fairfax, canonically uses they/them pronouns, trying to keep their identity secret to hide from the people who’ve tried to kill them (although that doesn’t mean they’re actually a boy or girl, especially if we, the player, already know their name and face). They also have an androgynous appearance.

Miscellaneous

Steam Pal (Steam Deck) - agender (canon?)

Steam Pal is the Steam Deck mascot for the Asian release. They have not been given a gender so far. The only possible instance was when Steam Pal was referred to as “Pal-Chan”, (the honorific “-chan” in Japanese is often used for young children or girls).

Player character (Ricochet) - transgender (potentially)

There is a cut female model from the game, potentially the player character instead of the male. (They were probably different characters though).

Holly (Back 4 Blood) - sapphic (potential)

(Yes I know Back4Blood isn't directly from Valve) Holly has a pin with a rainbow on her bag, the colors are similar to the pansexual flag. Someone pointed out that Holly playing softball and roller derby are often lesbian stereotypes so that could be a hint at her sexuality.

Mom and Doc are said to be written as a relationship by one of the developers. Mom was married and had children too. They seem to really care about each other in conversation.

how do you come up with AU names? some of your AUs have absolute banger names (Affectionately Yours and Kintsugi for example) and i was wondering about the process behind coming up with those names. sometimes i come up with an au that doesnt really fit into any pre-existing category (eg modern au, roleswap, etc) and my google doc ends up being called something really stupid that only fuels my writer’s block

i realize this is also an ask on titles lmao

Heck yeah I love fielding asks about general writing it's my passion and I deeply enjoy talking about it

I definitely feel you, though: not many of my AUs really adhere to common fandom categories. Because of that, I usually have to figure out different ways to refer to and ultimately title them. The short answer is that I usually start with a more general handle that sums up either the general narrative feel (Bad End AU), the inspiration for the AU (Assassin's Creed: Awakening), or an overarching theme for the story (Life Goes On); eventually, though, once I have most of the writing done or at least a better handle on the overall story, I'll pick a final title which becomes the AU name forevermore (Cursed Fate).

The long answer is under the cut:

There are actually a lot of different factors that go into naming my AUs! A lot of my AUs start their lives as a narrative concept that I'll try to sum up succinctly for the sake of addressing it quickly: Pre-Timeskip Fix-It because it's a fix-it fic where the changes in the academy phase throw the narrative off the canon rails before the war phase can begin; Spite Project because I was pissed about the panning of platonic relationships in fandom events and wrote a 37.5k word summary. But at some point -- some earlier, some later -- I'll get to a point where a title presents itself, and that gets associated with the AU for the rest of time.

Kintsugi is a case where the name came to me more or less with the general plot summary. It's actually a term for a Japanese art form translating to "golden repair," where a broken piece of pottery is repaired using lacquer mixed with gold dust, treating both the break and the repair as a notable part of the object's history rather than the end of its life or something to be concealed. For a fix-it fic based in a Golden Deer route that seeks to fix the damage to Fodlan, acknowledging and addressing the various characters' flaws and issues rather than trying to sweep them under the rug or allowing them to lead to peoples' deaths...it just seemed thematically appropriate, enough so that whenever it does get written I'm definitely keeping that title.

Affectionately Yours, by contrast, was titled quite late, only shortly before posting. It started its life as "Chrobin Celebration 2020 fic," but as I reached the late chapters I realized that I wanted to add in an epistolary element, because characters writing letters to each other is a blast (and I love playing with fancy fonts). Once I made that decision, giving it a romantic title alluding to a letter's closing line seemed like a perfect choice -- plus it let me do a title drop in the last chapter, which was icing on my cake.

There are some fun tricks you can use to get yourself started with some AU names, though! Here's a few that I use:

Do you have a song that you associate with an AU? Use that for a title (Sigh No More, from a Mumford and Sons song)

Alternatively, pick a lyric you particularly like, or that you think fits the overall feel of the story (Nosferatank did this with Send the Scourge, Send the Swarm, taken from Prince of Egypt's The Plagues)

Is there a particular saying or phrase that captures the feel of your AU? You could use that, too (Smoke and Mirrors takes its name from an idiom related to disguising or distracting attention from the truth)

You can also pick terms or phrases related to major plot points (Prisoner of War gets its title from the fact that Chrom's captured by Plegians very early in the story and spends most of the narrative in their camp)

Is there a particular word that carries a lot of weight or influence in your story? That's a great choice for a name (Manwearer comes from a play on the taguel 'Rabbitwearer' epithet, and is how they address the human they've adopted as one of their own)

Similarly, if you're building toward a particular scene and have some dialogue planned, you can use a key bit of that description or dialogue (As You Are will ultimately build toward Robin accepting that his injury isn't the end of the world, and people will not only accept him but love him just as he is, rather than in spite of it)

Got a crossover of some kind in the works? Find a fun way to merge the two titles (Cardcaptor Lissa is an Awakening AU that draws narrative influence from Cardcaptor Sakura)

And if all else fails, you can give it a stand-in title based on the work that lends its influence (Promare AU is an Awakening AU drawing narrative cues from Promare)

This is my first post on this blog so I apologise if the pacing is a little off-

I found good omens (tv show, haven’t read the book yet) around three weeks ago, and every day I think of something new surrounding it. Today’s one is this;

Throughout season two we see a lot of Crowley and Aziraphale wanting to be happy and seeing it in different ways, refer to end of episode six where Azi sees a happy future in heaven and Crowley sees a happy future on Earth. But this isn’t the only time they do this, for example their different ideas on how people fall in love.

I’m using this example specifically because of the reasons behind it (and also because that’s what this ramble’s about).

Crowley believes people fall in love when they’re under a canopy during a sudden downpour. This is, quite obviously, because it’s how he fell in love with Aziraphale. We know the moment Azi fell in love (during WW2 when Crowley did a miracle to give him his books back, as correctly assumed by Michael), but they never make a point of when Crowley fell in love, which leads us all to believe it’s from the very start when Azi doesn’t treat him any differently after becoming a demon.

His ideas of falling in love are surrounded by his own ideas and his own experiences.

Whereas, Aziraphale’s ideas of love are based off of fiction, books, one of the two things he loves. Either this is because he’s a romantic and adores the idea of having a perfect love life and perfect dates, or because he’s trying to disregard fact.

“It all looked so simple in Jane Austen” - episode 6. He sounds almost upset, but he’s too stressed to be thinking about other people’s love lives at this point because of all the demons at his front door. No, he’s upset because it didn’t work with them so how could it work for him? At this point Aziraphale doesn’t truly know if Crowley loves him back, sure he probably knows but with such lack of communication there isn’t any proper way to know is there? Especially when he’s acted the same all these years.

For this quote too, it links quite nicely to “Everyone elses love lives always seem so much more simple than your own” - Episode 3 or 4 I think. Even though it’s Nina saying this, Azi practically paraphrases it in episode six. All people in love ever want is simplicity, is for mind-reading to exist so communication doesn’t have to, as we all know this is one of Aziracrow’s biggest flaws. But this is a fictional idea, a simple love life doesn’t exist, mainly because love isn’t a simple emotion, especially to an unearthly being with religious trauma in love with a literal demon. However, Aziraphale loves the idea of simplicity, for example when he travelled to France during the revolution for crepes, or having some cakes to cure all of his problems, or having a Jane Austen ball so his crush would fall in love with him.

Little did he know, it was even simpler than that.

Crowley had been in love with him all along, the only thing he needed to do was say it.

And then, just to add to this angel’s love of simplicity, we’ll have a look at the hardest decision he had to make;

Heaven or earth?

Well, the simple answer was heaven.

For millions of years he’s been made to believe that heaven is good and hell is bad, simple, no grey areas, no things in between, there is good and there is bad.

In episode six near the end, he says to Crowley “heaven, it’s the side of truth, of light, of good.”

And throughout both seasons, he makes a point of saying Crowley’s a demon, be it lighthearted (“I am an angel, you are a demon… get behind me you foul fiend”) or obviously emotionally driven (“obviously you said no to heaven you’re the bad guys”). So in this case, Earth is bad, not because it’s bad in itself but because of Crowley; I believe (this isn’t canon) that something the Metatron said to Azi put doubt in his mind, on top of the failure of a ball and how Crowley hadn’t changed too much over the years (quite a lot of the positive things Crowley does Azi isn’t around for, ignoring when he saves Elspeth from unaliving herself, for example when he gives Jim a mug of hot chocolate or tries to make Maggie and Nina fall in love or gives Muriel a book he thinks they’ll like after they ask for one. To him, especially after subtle convincing from the metatron, Crowley is just as much of a demon as he has been all these years).

So this decision, to either stay on Earth with the love of his life and spend the rest of eternity with the only person he completely trusts or to go back to heaven and make it into the amazingly good place he’d always been told it was, is simplified into ‘good or bad’, ‘heaven or hell’, ‘light or darkness’, and his religious trauma instinctively places Crowley under the latter category.

I wish I believed in the coffee theory and the lie theory, but I think what Azi did was out of his longing for simplicity. I’ve seen a lot of people saying how Azi believes he can change it, but Crowley knows it’s impossible to change such a thing. Especially on the last day he’s there, everything was simple. To Aziraphale, Nina and Maggie had fallen in love because nothing had told him otherwise, Gabriel and Beelzebub got to leave without issue, Crowley stopped war being declared by simply saying they’re stupid. Everything seemed simple.

Crowley doesn’t see things like that. His views are changed on how things are given to him. God wants to shut Earth down in 6000 years and he immediately questions their decisions. God wants to kill Job’s kids and he immediately finds a way around it. He hates Jim until he finds out he’s genuinely sorry about something he didn’t even know he did and was willing to jump out of a window if it meant everything would turn out okay again.

Maybe that’s why the kiss didn’t work.

Maybe, because their views on love are so different (complicated vs simple), the kiss meant different things.

I think I saw a post like this somewhere, not sure what it said or who wrote it, but I believe it’s something quite similar to what i’m about to say (i also believe Neil said something similar to this confirming what the kiss meant).

Crowley’s kiss was a last ditch attempt at communication; Aziraphale wouldn’t listen to him, he was all out of ideas and needed a way to make him stay with him. It wasn’t out of love, although i’m sure that was at least 20% of why he did it, but because he hoped that Aziraphale would listen and understand that he needed to stay, that if he left what would that make Crowley? For the longest time he’d been going along with hell as far as he could, he was on his own side, but then it became ‘our side’, and it suddenly wasn’t so lonely anymore.

For Aziraphale, the kiss wasn’t so complicated.

No, Crowley was a demon, he was on hell’s side, he was one of the ‘bad guys’, he’s a demon he lied. The kiss was a temptation.

Angels can’t be tempted. And Aziraphale was an angel.

It’s that simple.

If he stayed with Crowley, it’s because the demon would’ve tempted him into it, maybe throughout these decades he’d been doing it all along. If he stayed, he’d become a fallen angel, and he wouldn’t like it in hell would he?

Aziraphale wanted a simple love, without temptation and hard decisions and kisses just to get him to stay.

Crowley just wanted Aziraphale. But he wasn’t willing to let go of his morals and his standards for him.

Aziraphale chose heaven because it was simple, because he could be happy in the future and wanted Crowley to be happy with him.

Crowley chose Earth because he knew neither of them could be happy in heaven, and he knew he couldn’t even fathom seeing the one person he truly loved in such a sad state.

It is just that simple.

About 20 days twiddling my thumbs frustrated with my latest project, I decided to go ham with Yoosung's room and assume he got a just deserved upgrade to his PC setup. I already drew what is canonically in his room from the game, but because it's from an angle that isn't typically seen, I'm forced to use my imagination. I'm also giving him star shaped fairy lights for the corners of the ceiling, because I can do whatever I want!

Anyone have any ideas for what you think Yoosung might have in the other sides of his room? Or what he might have after getting into his relationship? One of these days, I'm just gonna 3D model his room so it can make things easier for drawing reference...

So far, I've given him a wall shelf to put stuff on. I'm considering giving him a big aquarium, *coughforthecatdefinitlynotjustbecauseIlovefishcough*, a cat tree for Lisa, maybe more cat accessories, maybe a shelf for collectables (I've seen it said that Yoosung enjoys shoujo manga, but I want to find a source. If so, I want to give him some shojo manga and other neat collectables.), I want to give him that signed gaming mouse to use (or perhaps.. would he be too afraid to use it? Still, I'm giving him a gaming mouse!!)

Speaking of cats! I was excited to find that Lisa pretty much lives at the vet clinic, I guess it's common in South Korea too then... Though, part of me is like Iwantlisaathome lol

☆ Cooking nonsense with Puku ☆

On a separate random note. All this time, I didn't fully realize my favorite instant noodles were pretty much a take on Jjamppong. The package always just called the noodles "Udon type noodles" and the flavor was "spicy seafood". I was just a lameass who for some reason thought Udon was mostly a Japanese noodle, not to mention this Korean/Chinese version is similar in texture to the typical Japanese Udon noodle, but quite a bit smaller in thickness. Not as thin as Ramen or Ramyun/Ramyeon, however.

orz All this time I just felt like I was bastardizing japanese udon, but apparently it's pretty common to make the noodles spicy in South Korea. I'm a spicy fanatic so I guess I now know what kind of noodle dish I tend to favor.

See, I was just but a lameo who just took Nongshim Neoguri Spicy Seafood instant "udon type noodles" and threw them into a pot, adding separate purple cabbage/bok choy/brussle sprouts/other cabbage, spinach, wakame seaweed/nori/knotted kombu, octopus tentacle parts, dehydrated mini shrimps, sometimes bacon for the fatty pork and oil taste, cut or chopped habanero/ghost/Carolina reaper peppers for extra heat, hot chili oil, more crushed red pepper, a bit of Fiesta "Very hot" cayenne pepper, course ground black pepper, shiitake/oyster mushrooms (I grew and dehydrated them myself ♥). Otherwise, really just whatever I feel like that I have lying around. If possible, I like to add fish cakes like narutos, soft boiled egg (Recently learned how to soy sauce marinate soft boiled eggs! yumyumyumyumyum), etc. Adding radishes and daikon is good too! Sometimes beansprouts, sometimes mukimame, sometimes cucumber slices, etc. I've bought frozen seafood variety bags and that will work for protein as well. I think it's actually pretty common for oyster to be used in jjamppong, too..

Anyway I've rattled enough about my abomination noodle soup I could eat forever if I could only eat one thing... >__>

Fontaine and its Archon (theory/speculation)

Notice: This article is about the upcoming region of Fontaine, my speculations are clearly seperated from canon proof. You are more then welcomed to add information on any of my posts via dms/comments/asks.

Keyword: Irony

Name meaning and real-life reference

Fontaine is the French word for fountain/water spring.

The city of Fontaine is a French city located south east of France. Château de Fontainebleau is the name of a French palace (A/N: I highly recommend checking out this stunning piece of architectural art).

Therefore it is safe to assume this nation of Teyvat will be using France as its main real-life inspiration. Feudal France to be exact given Genshin's medieval like setting.

It is possible that Venice is a secondary reference.

“Venice has been known as the "La Dominante," "Serenissima," "Queen of the Adriatic," "City of Water," "City of Masks," "City of Bridges," "The Floating City," and "City of Canals."-Earth watching ESA

A city with many water canals sounds fitting for the hydro element, which Fontaine worships.

Water and masks(will be elaborated later) are the two most prominent concepts of Fontaine as of now.

The gadget “Kamera” originates from Fontaine in game. The inventors of cameras, the Lumiere brothers are French and early photography originated from France.

The Hydro archon herself

Above is the gemstone required for hydro character ascentions. (Source: Honey Impact)

If you paid close attention to the wishful drop event(the quest that gives you Endora the mini-Oceanid), you can see that the Lochfolks like Rhodeia of Loch does not support the current hydro archon.

The Lochfolks are originally envoys, located in other six nations by the orders of the original hydro archon(one of the Original Seven). The original hydro archon wishes only to stay connected to the rest of the seven, therefore the Lochfolks mainly acted as messengers. But they do not seem to acknowledge the current hydro archon to be their boss.

The Lochfolk’s CN name is 纯水精灵, roughly translates to: “spirits/nymphs of pure water”.

“An assassin from our homeland? Or a fool who dares to tresspass the waters of Qingce?”

-Oceanid of Qingce, Rhodeia of Loch

The word "assassin". This implies that the current Hydro archon sees the Lochfolks as threats to her reign, and she had seeked/is seeking to eliminate them. Like Rhodeia, many of them have cut ties with Fontaine and is currently occupying bodies of water, waiting for their own demise. I suspect that politics and power struggle would be a heavy theme throughout Fontaine’s story quest. “Rhodeia of Loch” implies that there is/used to be a Loch clan in Fontaine. Albedo also said "we could bring in six Oceanids" during his experiment on the traveler.

There is also the title of the archon quest.

•The irony here being: Since the hydro archon’s title is the god of justice, then why is the archon quest of Fontaine called “Masquerade of the Guilty”? Maybe she obtained her position through unsavory means. (That is perhaps why the reason why the Oceanid refuses to recongize her as their god)

•Masquerade balls were quite popular in feudal Europe among the upper class. The attendees are obligatory to wear a mask, so their experssions and identity remains a secret.

•The CN title being “罪人舞步旋“, roughly translates to “The sinner’s whirling dance steps”

Both versions seem to imply this theme: someone had committed a crime, but said person did not recieved any punishment for it. Instead, they are enjoying a lavish, happy life. An outlaw who got away with their punishment.

The teyvat storyline preview lines about Fontaine:

“The god of justice lives for the spectacle of the court room, seeking to judge all other gods. But even she knows not to make an enemy of the divine.”

•It is a common tactic for someone guilty (of a crime) to accuse others to redirect attention. If the lochfolks are willing to answer to the Hydro archon, she would undoubtedly use them as eyes and ears to get dirt on the other archons. But she is not willing to go against the heavenly principles.

•My speculations on her true form: a mermaid/siren.

Sirens are mythical sea creatures, they appeared in several different cultures. They often have the appearance of breathtaking human women along with lovely singing voices. The word siren can be used in modern context if one wishes to describe "a woman who is very attractive but also dangerous"(Miriam Webster Dictionary).

Giving how frequent "guilty" and masks are mentioned, this divine lady of water seems to be a shady, trickster like character. And what's a water creature known for their deadly trickery? Sirens. Their singing attracted sailors and caused them to sail into dangerous water or toward rocks. Note that Sirens and Mermaids are not originally the same with seperate myths, see here. But popular depictions of them are often similar. In short, Sirens is commonly known to be a more sinister version of mermaids.

This could be symbolic to how Fontaine seems to be prosperous and peaceful on the surface level, but its fondation is nothing more then an enormous lie.

Fontaine storyline speculations

Some sort of revolution. Fontaine is based on Feudal France, so...

Rings a bell? Marie Antoinette, the Queen of France who is known for her ridiculous spending habits and "let them eat cake".

I do not think the hydro archon will get executed like the French Queen. Just stepping down from her divine position will be enough.

As formentioned, I believe politics and power struggles would play a big part in Fontaine's story arc. Agian, if you are familiar with the french revolutionary history, feel free to add to this!!

Hi!! Before you read this or try to take this down please just consider reading this instead of being so hateful. I don’t mean to spread hate onto any shippers but I do believe that Inuyasha’s fandom has a major problem that needs to be addressed. Trigger warning for pedophila,child p*rn and grooming.

Why Sessrin is problematic.

Sessrin is a very popular ship among the Inuyasha community. If you are a shipper of this pair you won’t have to worry for lack of content for it. Rin is a injured child character that is introduced in the original Inuyasha manga in issue 14. She meets Sesshomaru in the forest and even though she is going through a lot at such a young age her kind self still tries to help him out. Sesshomaru at first does not care for this child who is tending to him. He tells her to mind her business and has her leave. Soon after Rin is killed by Kouga’s pack of wolves and Sesshomaru with his demon power scented her blood and comes to save her with his Tenseiga. After this Sessshomaru decides to take in Rin and protect her even though he had a hatred for humans. A “similarly” shippers like to compare Inuyasha and Kagome’s relationship with but their relationship is not written with romantic tensions..

The reason why Rin was written and VERY important in Inuyasha is because she is the reason why Sesshomaru became a better person. He no longer hated humans or wanted to go against his brother. This broken human child Rin looked up to Sesshomaru who was a powerful older demon. Sesshomaru grew a soft side and it was because of her caring innocence. You could easily see their connection as father and daughter or Sesshomaru as a guardian for her. Never did he have the thought of getting with her when she got older and Rin never developed a crush on him. Why? Because she is a child who lost her parents and now has this person who protects her like one. People may say that Jaken was the father figure for Rin but I don’t agree because unlike Sesshomaru he did not care for Rin and only handled her to please his lord. Jaken would call Rin many negative things and go off at her. Rin was annoyed by Jaken. He is certainly not a parent figure for her. Sesshomaru provided a stay aside him to lead for Rin which she followed. Rin was no longer alone. She had Sesshomaru’s company now. Even if he was not very good at taking care of her he never wanted her to get hurt or killed again. He is new to this “taking care of people” thing after all especially humans...young humans. Sessrin would destroy the growth of Sesshomaru because it can’t be denyed that their relationship represents this much more than a romance waiting to happen. When Kagura came along Rin told Jaken joyfully she bet Kagura had a crush on Sesshomaru this small moment reminds you she a is a child that lost her parents and could be seeing this as a opportunity for Kagura to become her adoptive mother. And most Sesshomaru cosplayers would use their daughter to cosplay for Rin. Usually making the picture taken seem like Sesshomaru is protecting Rin or having them both share a cute bonding moment. Why? Because that is how their relationship is meant to be established. For a Sessrin cosplay to work people would have to age up Rin and her design or else the cosplayers would receive negative feedback. Now moving on to how aging up Rin is not okay either.

People claim they only would like to see these two get together once Rin is older but that is almost as bad as shipping Sessrin while she is a child. Sesshomaru saw Rin grow up. He raised her for a while as his own this needs to stop being denied in the fandom. For Sesshomaru to impregnate Rin is out of character. And seems like a sick fanasty. He is not that kind of character. He wouldn’t touch Rin in that matter. Even if she was in her late 20’s. He respected child Rin and would still respect her older. Sessrin is like if a babysitter got together with the person they use to take care of as a kid. It’s disturbing!! Not cute. Rin does not deserve to be fedished.

It’s actually terrifying how much child p*rn there is of Rin. I feel so ashamed by even coming across one by mistake. Don’t use the excuse that Rin is a fictional character. Enough with that excuse. Let’s throw that excuse away. That excuse of “it’s fictional it does not matter..” only works for certain things like when someone assigns headcanons for their favorite character or ships a non-canon pair that isn’t problematic. Not when we are speaking of drawing nsfw of a fictional child. And fictional or not. Rin is a child and every grown person who has drawn smut of her should be ashamed and even arrested. If you see a fictional child in this matter what knows what could you lead you up to see an actual kid as this too. It’s a big problem because there are so many people who have gotten away with this. It’s so easy to find a image of child Rin without any of her clothes on or being r*ped by Sesshomaru. Sesshomaru would never r*pe anyone. It’s quite sad. Kagome was saved from being sexually assaulted by Mukostu because of Sesshomaru. People has even brought doujinshi comics of Sessrin making love or may I call it child p*rn in disguise? Be honest with yourself. It really is just that.

Everyone finding out would be horrified. Excluding Hanyo No Yashahime which majorly changed the characters. Sesshomaru and Rin being together would make everyone uncomfortable even Miroku who has before asked a child if she would bare his kid. Which Inuyasha,Kagome,and Sango reacted very badly to. And was yelled at for it. They do not tolerate pedos nor grooming. Kagome especially would be against. She referred Rin as the girl many times and puzzled together that Sesshomaru took care for Rin. Many people bring up that Kouga proposed to Ayame when she was a kid but remember that was never in the original. Sunrise created Ayame and added this other plot in order for Kouga to have someone at the end. Which is sad because this could have worked if Ayame met Kouga and gained a crush on him instead. She was a cute character after all. In the manga Kouga remains by himself since Kagome stayed with Inuyasha. Now I am definitely not a fan of Kouga and Ayame. I despise the fact Sunrise only created her to be Kouga’s romance interest but having him tell her he would marry her once she was older was even worse. This was a choice Sunrise made not Kouga’s original character. The reason why Kagome does not call out Kouga on this is because she did not know Ayame was a child at the time he proposed. He never mentioned it but if he did I’m certain Kagome would have not tried to keep setting them up together knowing this information. And just a reminder that even in real life some Inuyasha voice actors such as Richard Ian Cox and David Kaye voice actor for Sesshomaru does not support Sessrin. Adding on shipping Rin with Sesshomaru is like shipping Shippo with Inuyasha or Kagome. Weird right?? In the Manga Sesshomaru’s Mother Inukimi says that Sesshomaru is like his father in the strangest of ways after saving Rin again. No this doesn’t mean that he will soon come to love her romantically because Inukimi did add “In the strangest of ways” and refers to Rin as a girl like Kagome. She means that Sesshomaru had now changed and that he cared about someone who was a human like his dad who also cared for them even though they are both demons.

It’s funny how the sequel claims girl power but does not know how to treat it’s female characters. Kagome and Sango are both introduced as Inuyasha and Miroku’s wives instead of their actual character. Now if you not a woman please do not have a say in this unless you wish to agree but this is very sexist Sunrise. I’m not exaggerating how upsetting and disrespectful it is to see you introduce these strong main female role models like this. Inuyasha and Miroku were not titled as husbands of...so why were Kagome and Sango? I’m sure 99% of audience would know who is married to who. Women are not objects or tools Sunrise. Kagome is the main character of Inuyasha even if his name is on title. She is the reason why got to meet these characters. Sunrise has done female characters dirty many times like making Ayame obessed with Kouga when she could have been a neat character but what they did to Rin takes the cake. Rin is introduced as “The girl who adores Sesshomaru” but apparently now that girl is the mother of his children. Shame on you Sunrise!! We only saw Rin ever as a child even when series ended aging her up to become Sesshomaru’s wife without knowing how she is as a grown person is not a good example for your younger female audience to view. This could have been avoided.

Even though I’m a minor who only been in this fandom for half a year I gather a lot of knowledge of how far this fandom goes. It was definitely most popular around early 2000’s and many say it was their first anime with their first anime crush being Sesshomaru. Inuyasha was an anime I did not look content for till later after finishing season 2. When I discovered Sessrin I was real confused and thought to myself it was just a small part of the fandom but I could have been more wrong. Many accounts I followed that involved Inuyasha shipped Sessrin. Even after finishing many Inuyasha episodes I was very confused on why this was a thing and how could have it gotten so big. I thought something magical would have happened like Rin turning out to be someone much older but that never happened. I was wrong. This ship is just pedophila and nothing else. And I’m sure if Sesshomaru wasn’t “attractive” Sessrin wouldn’t be big. Going back to people crushing on Sesshomaru when they were younger I’m sure the reason Sessrin is not more discussed about for how toxic it is online is because besides people being scared,people like to insert themselves as Rin but this has to stop. Adults should not pair a child and grown up together even if the child is now grown. Especially grown ups with kids. This is not good example to set for your kids. I’ve seen many minors being harassed online for disliking Sessrin by adults. Which is super immature and should be in trouble for. Netruals must know that is not a ship war because there have been people who have gotten horrible hate and were told very graphic things by Sessrin shippers. ( By the way I’m sorry to anyone who has been hurt online even Sessrin shippers. I do not support Sessrin but no one should be told awful things. ) Many Inuyasha fans which dislike Sessrin have left Twitter and Tumblr because of how much hate they have gotten. This is not okay. People should be able to voice their opinion on something without being told to commit s*icide or hoping they get r*ped.

And your point? This sequel is being written in the 21th century. We could write it however we please not everything has to be “accurate” and also this state is just supporting the idea of children being wed with a grown up was okay before because the age of consent was different. Ugh..but this claim is just another excuse. Please stop using it. Many things in the past were allowed which wouldn’t be allowed today. So no this is not a valid reason to ship Rin with Sesshomaru.

Sunrise should not be off the hook for using child Rin clips for the opening as the daughters are shown. It was a wrong decision to make them seem like “moments” since now many actual pedophiles will support this pair as well. Even before this continuing was announced Sessrin was a big thing and “adult Rin” was not. Sunrise should not be supporting Sessrin at all. Nor anyone in the Inuyasha crew. They have many young fans watching and supporting this anime and they are being influenced and will grow up to think grooming is okay when it’s not. Again in 2021 this can not be allowed and it shouldn’t have ever. This sequel was not necessary. The anime ended fine.

If Rin is the mom I will no longer support Hanyo No Yashahime. I’m sorry but I will sadly have to drop it. There are a lot of reasons why Sessrin should not be a thing and Sunrise should know many themselves,because they have joined along these character’s journeys and seen through scripts who they are. And what Sessrin is pedophila and grooming that happened to get a lot of support which is why it is hard to find more people within online media discuss it. I sure do hope it does because I am tired of seeing only few doing it. We need more awareness of how problematic grooming pairs are in anime media. No more portraying children to grow up as romance interests for people they were raised by. Let’s keep Sesshomaru and Rin’s relationship wholesome. There is no need for them to get together. At the end of the day Rin owns Sesshomaru nothing and he knows that. Let’s start viewing them from a different point of view. Let’s see more fanart of them acting like father and daughter. (I got bored during work and jotted a buncha stuff down - I'll admit I was inspired by @metaphor-cheese's hot take about how Isabella should've been developed more. Some of these facts are elements about Isabella that I do wish were explored more, though a lot of these are just fun, random tidbits of information that aren't in any particular order. There will also be some Phinabella stuff, but we already know she has a crush on Phineas so I'm not gonna put that on this list.

That's the one thing you're not gonna sway me against, so don't even waste your time).

American Dragon Timeline

I’ve been trying for a while now to figure out the timeline of this show, because it makes no sense in the order that Disney Channel originally aired the episodes. It also makes no sense in the episode list on Jeff Goode’s website, which he claims to be the proper chronology of events.

I had to come up with a few convoluted headcanons to make this work, but I think I’ve finally pieced together a coherent timeline (note that for a lot of the filler episodes, it doesn’t actually matter that much when they take place, I was just trying to stick as close to Jeff Goode’s chronology as possible.)

September 2004

Old School Training

It’s implied in this episode that Jake got his dragon powers very recently. They don’t say how recently, but given how new the whole thing is to him, I’d say it’s probably only been about a week or two.

Here’s where we come up against our first issue with canon. In The Legend of Dragon Tooth, Jake says he got his dragon powers when he turned 13, and in Shapeshifter, he says he’s a Pisces, which means his birthday would be in late February, or March. There’s no way the timeline makes sense if that’s the case, so my headcanon is that Jake is just like…really bad at astrology, and he somehow confused Pisces with another star sign.

We also have the issue of how far behind he seems to be in school (he’s 14 in early season 2, but still in 7th grade). So, two more headcanons to explain that. Number one, Jake’s birthday is actually sometime in early September, so he missed the cutoff to go to kindergarten when he was 5, and had to wait until he was 6, placing him a year behind (some places don’t allow kids to start kindergarten if they turn 5 after September 1st. I knew a boy in my old youth group who was almost a year older than everyone else in our grade, because he had an October birthday). Number two, at some point in elementary school, Jake was held back a grade. So the first episode takes place shortly after Jake’s 13th birthday, at the beginning of his sixth grade year.

Since Trixie and Spud are supposed to be the same age as him, that would mean they must’ve both been held back at some point as well (that especially makes sense for Spud—anyone who’s purposely failed as many tests as he has would almost definitely have to repeat a grade).

This would also make Rose younger than them. She’s very bright, and she seems like a good student, so it’s unlikely she was ever held back. But we don’t want her to be too much younger than them, so I’ll headcanon that she also has a birthday in early September, making her a year younger than Jake. If that’s the case, she’d be 12 in season one, and 13/14 in season 2.

September/October 2004

Shapeshifter Dragon Breath The Legend of Dragon Tooth The Talented Mr. Long Professor Rotwood’s Thesis Act 4, Scene 15 The Long Weekend Body Guard Duty Dragon Summit

This episode has to take place after Shapeshifter, Dragon Breath, and Professor Rotwood’s Thesis, since the Dragon Council makes references back to Jake’s actions in all of those episodes. It also has to take place before The Halloween Bash, which places it sometime in September or October.

October 2004

The Halloween Bash

Jeff Goode’s website lists this episode as taking place between Ski Trip and The Hunted, but there’s no way that’s possible, because Ski Trip takes place close to Valentine’s Day, and The Hunted takes place during the Equinox (they don’t specify which Equinox, but it would have to be the one in September; it’s the only way the timeline makes any sense, even with the generous liberties I’m taking with these headcanons). So The Halloween Bash has to take place before Ski Trip. No one in this episode makes any reference to knowing Rose’s identity, so it works out just fine.

February 2005

The Ski Trip

Valentine’s Day was actually on a Monday in 2005, so presumably this episode takes place the weekend of February 11-13.

March 2005

The Egg/The Heist

Easter was on March 27 in 2005. This is how I know The Hunted takes place during the Autumnal Equinox; Rose was still in the city during Easter weekend, a week after the Vernal Equinox.

Eye of the Beholder Ring Around the Dragon Jake Takes the Cake

May 2005

Fu and Tell/Flight of the Unicorn

Flight of the Unicorn takes place on Memorial Day, which was May 30th that year

Half Baked

Jake says it’s been three months since Rose left. It couldn’t be exactly three months, because that would place this episode in late December, and school would be out for the holidays. So presumably it’s late November or early December, and Jake is rounding up when he says three months.

The Academy

This one would pretty much have to take place very soon after Half Baked, like within a week or two.

Late December 2005

Breakout

This episode establishes that 88 and 89 are in the city working as apprentices to the Huntsman, so it has to take place before the Christmas episode, which they also appear in.

Hairy Christmas

January/February 2006

(Most of these don’t actually have to take place in January or February, aside from Dreamscape and Fool’s Gold. The rest could be pretty much any time during Jake’s 7th grade year. I’m just trying to stick to Jeff Goode’s chronology, and keep at least some of the episodes in the order he listed.)

The Love Cruise

They never explicitly say it’s Valentine’s Day, but the whole concept of the Love Cruise seems like something a school would do for Valentine’s Day. Also adds an extra layer of heartbreak, because it means Jake and Rose’s breakup happened on the one-year anniversary of Jake finding out Rose was Huntsgirl. Ouch. February has not been kind to Jake.

On the other hand, I’d prefer to headcanon that Jake and Rose got to spend the whole summer together before their breakup, going on dream dates every night and not having to set their alarms for school in the morning (can we just let them be happy for a little while? PLEASE?!?!?!?), so maybe the Love Cruise wasn’t on Valentine’s Day, and instead was just some random school event at the beginning of their 8th grade year.

May 2006

Feeding Frenzy

They spend three days visiting Jake’s family, so it’s either Memorial Day weekend, spring break, or summertime. Most likely Memorial Day or spring break, since Jake says in this episode that he’s been the American Dragon for a year and a half.

May/June 2006

A Befuddled Mind The Rotwood Files Haley Gone Wild Switcheroo

This one takes place after The Love Cruise, because Jake and Rose’s recent breakup is a minor plot point, so it only takes place at this point if we headcanon Love Cruise taking place in February.

Young At Heart

I know this is supposed to be a later episode, but going by this timeline, Jake would be 15 for most of his 8th grade year, and in this episode Jake, Trixie, and Spud talk about being 14, so it has to take place during 7th grade

I never went to public school (I was unfortunately homeschooled), but it’s my understanding that middle schools don’t do Homecoming. So my headcanon is that it was actually just a junior high prom or something, but a few students on the planning committee approached Sun Park and begged her to let them model it after the Homecoming dances at their older siblings’ high schools. Sun was delighted by their enthusiasm, so of course she agreed.

Haley and Gramps both say in this episode that Jake is 14, but he would actually be 15 by this point (even if my whole timeline is wrong and he actually is a Pisces, he still would’ve had his 15th birthday already). Presumably the writers just weren’t paying close enough attention to their established timeline, but the in-universe explanation is…sometimes family members forget your age; my best friend keeps saying her youngest sister is 15, when in fact her sister is turning 17 this year. Sometimes you lose track.

Summer after 8th grade

The Hong Kong Longs

Presumably this episode takes place around July or August, which means Jake and his friends would be almost 16 by this point (and Rose would be almost 15, assuming my headcanon about her being a year younger than them is accurate).

Fluff is my bread and butter when it comes to not only writing, but reading. It can do me no harm, besides making my cheeks hurt from smiling so dang much!

So here is my list of fluffy, plotty, longfics! These are pretty old, because I haven’t been in the market for any destiel longfic in the recent years, besides oneshots and a few WIPs here and there. (i’m still neck deep into the stucky dumpster lol) 6 canon fics and 6 AU’s :D

CANON

Professional Couple Only by saltyfeathers (Fake/Pretend Relationship) - There's a haunted apartment building in Vermont, and the ad says "Professional couple only". Dean and Cas rise to the occasion.

The Silence Between Heartbeats by yesmsmoran (elliedew) (2x20 AU) - "Fic that replaces Carmen with Cas. And then, when Dean wakes up and he meets Cas for the first time he freaks out because it's the only man he's ever loved and he's so confused as to how he can be real when he obviously had to be something the djinn created."

i wanna see your animal side by microcomets (Animal Transformation) - Dean gets attached to a dark-haired, blue-eyed kitten. He hates cats, so he can't really say why.

Just To Make You See by youaresunlight (Mutual Pining) - “I’ve been reading,” Cas explains, lifting his coat to reach for something inside. It’s another magazine but not one about nature or economics. It’s a GQ with a suave male celebrity gracing the cover. “There’s an article in here that gives advice to those who are ‘seeking to escape the friend zone.’”

And I Will Walk On Water by tracy_loo_who (Post-S4) - This fic is set after season 4 and totals ~122,600 words. It's a story about friendship and love, recovery and trust, free will, and Dean and Castiel's journey through it all. It's also about chocolate and hugs. If you read it, I really hope you enjoy it. ♥

Broadway Musical by Griftings (HILLARIOUS GO READ IT) - This is the day that marked the Holy and Blessed Union of Dean Winchester and Jo Harvelle.The merging of prominent bloodlines is always a grand occurrence, but breeding pedigree hunter families like Winchester and Harvelle is something to be rejoiced. It is also something to be meticulously planned, which thankfully the Host is very good at.Or, the romantic comedy where Dean Winchester and Jo Harvelle are destined to get married, Castiel is given the task of playing matchmaker and fails terribly, the entire Heavenly Host becomes a sitcom audience, God warns against male pregnancy, and Jimmy Novak is incredibly unimpressed with angels in general.

a world above water by museaway (Fairy Tale AU) - Castiel’s hope for freedom is threatened by a chance encounter with the Crowned Prince of Lawrence, who is trying to avoid an arranged marriage

To Find a Family by linasane (Kid Fic, Domestic) - When Dean's little brother gets taken away, he's expecting the fight that ensues. He's expecting the stress that comes from separation, expecting to do all he can to get Sammy back from whatever awful foster family he's been placed with. He's not expecting Castiel Novak. (Castiel, in turn, isn't expecting his first foster child - five years old and angry - to be the one that leads him to the family he's always wanted, but life has a funny way of working itself out).

Shorten the Distance by GhostGarrison (Online/Long Distance Relationship) - "Nerdytr3nchcoat" and "Impala67" weren't looking for romance on the dating website called 'dateangels.com'. Castiel was looking for friends and Dean was just looking to get his nagging brother off his back. What they didn't expect to find was each other. [a long distance, online relationship fic]

Cooking with Gas by WinJennster (Food Network/Chef!Cas) - Castiel Novak has it all. He's rich, famous, has a top rated cooking show and restaurant, drives an expensive car and wears Armani. His producer throws a contest to spend a day with Chef Novak, cooking and learning techniques. Castiel wants no part of it, but Balthazar insists and Castiel will do as expected. What Castiel wasn't expecting was to fall head over heels for the winner. Dean Winchester hasn't had a successful relationship in his 34 years on Earth. He's got a past he'd like to keep hidden, and his life rotates around his family and his business. Winning a contest to spend a day with his favorite TV chef is a shock, but a welcome diversion from his day to day life...until he meets the guy, and he turns out to be a big jerk. Dean figures he should have expected that. What he wasn't expecting was that same gorgeous blue-eyed man to sweep in and shake up his entire world.

Life In Pink by youaresunlight (Kid Fic - SO FLUFF) - At just 33 years old, Dean Winchester is one of the most sought-after wedding planners in the city. He’s chased his dream ever since he was a kid and is now on the brink of making partner at his firm. But the wedding that’ll make or break his promotion? Is his best friend Dr. Castiel Novak’s. It’s going to be the event of the season - unlimited budget, no expense spared - and it’s the kind of task that Dean has been waiting for… except he’s hopelessly in love with Cas.

Kiss the Baker by Ltleflrt (Bakery AU) - Jo is pregnant and craving something a little bit unusual. When she sends Dean on a mission to find her some chocolate cake donuts with bacon sprinkles, he's sure that he'll fail. Luckily his partner Benny comes to his rescue and introduces him to a quirky little bakery that sells all kinds of weird (and delicious!) baked goods. And they do special orders!Dean finds excuses to keep going back, and Castiel finds excuses to keep giving him special treats.

And I believe this is the fic Anon was referring to: don't care where you've been by thanks_tacos (A/B/O) Dean's life is finally changing. After years of enduring Alastair's abuse, the alpha dies and Dean's married off to the next alpha the system pairs him with - Castiel. The man is strange and distant, but not exactly bad, and Dean's determined to be on his best behavior and not mess up the chance he was given. Soon enough, though, he fucks up anyway and has to call the alpha for help.Castiel's lived his entire life without an omega by his side, and he was fine with that. He doesn't know how to proceed once he's suddenly married to a beautiful man who's obviously been through a lot. Omegas were always a confusing subject to him, so he tries not to interfere much - neither of them is there by their choice. But when Dean calls for help, he understands he's going to have to set some things straight and engage more.

What if Kirby had a traditional fighting game?

Listen, I know I should’ve done more “FNF fighting game characters” but i doubt anyone cared for that, and even then I lost a bit of interest, so if you actually cared sorry about that, you can still come up with whatever you want for the characters I didn’t talk about!

That being said, I think all Kirby fans here know Kirby Fighters 2. Personally speaking most of it was just the same as Kirby Fighters Deluxe BUT there were five playable Dream Friends. FIVE. Priority to the Copy Abilities a bit too high, isn’t it HAL? Sometimes it feels a bit barebones if you ask me. So I’m here to discuss what would a non-platform Kirby fighting game be.

THE GAMEPLAY

It’s the same as any basic fighting game, there isn’t really that much that the Kirby franchise can offer to make the genre a bit more varied, and that’s mostly due to the fact that Kirby makes friends wherever he goes and combat is pretty much straightforward in these platforming games, the crazy stuff comes from learning specific moves with each copy ability/character in the games and that’s also true for this game.

THE PLOT

I have quite a few ideas for how this can go:

-It’s a “what if” re-telling of Kirby Star Allies where Hyness’ ritual (somehow) also causes space-time rifts across the entire universe to be generated, pulling in Kirby villains from previous games but also allies, which would ALSO explain Dream Friends in the game’s canon a bit more properly.

-It happens in an AU. Plot would basically be Kirby Battle Royale’s but instead of shooting a loadshit of Kirbies onto Kirby, Dedede would just call upon all of their friends to fight for that cake before things escalate and Dedede loses control of the tournament to greater evils, forcing him to work with Kirby to stop the threat, be it old or new.

-Another AU idea but this time it’s original/based on Milky Way Wishes. Galactic NOVA appears every thousand years above Pop Star’s skies, and everyone tries to fight for the right to get the wish. Villain wouldn’t necessarily be ONLY Marx though, most of the Kirby villains could easily win against him if they get to NOVA and get their wish granted. Which means yes, all plots happen at once and Kirby has to deal with everyone at once.

-The least interesting idea: it’s Kirby Fighters 2′s plot but without tag team duos and with all Kirbies replaced with the roster.

THE ROSTER

Now we’re about to have some fun.

RETURNING CHARACTERS: The Dream Friends (and Kirby, of course)

-First up, all Dream Friends are coming back. You don’t even need to change their movesets that much, just add/tweak things, but just for funsies (and for a specific reason too) we’ll also give them specific copy abilities or more than one to categorize them.

-Kirby is the specific reason. He has the same moveset as his Smash Bros incarnation, although he incorporates more copy abilities (and also super powerful stuff like the Star Rod that he usually uses in endgame fights) in it now due to being a traditional fighting game. And yes, he still has his inhale. Using it will have the inhale be replaced by another move in-game, the closest one to a “neutral special” in the opponent’s arsenal. His copy ability is therefore, Smash Bros. And since the game has multiple super moves, we can make his gimmicks from the Kumazaki games the super moves: his level 1 would be a random Super Copy Ability from Return to Dreamland (cutscene is random everytime but damage is always the same), his level 2 would be using the Robobot Armor to stomp foes around, ending with a giant ground pound/fist to the ground and his level 3 is Hypernova Kirby due to the inhale being one of his most unique properties.

-Meta Knight and Dedede will also have heavy Smash influences but they’ll also use techniques from most of their boss fights, such as Meta Knight splitting himself in four clones temporarily for an attack or Dedede actually pulling out an axe instead of his hammer for some attacks based on his Triple Deluxe incarnation. Their copy abilities would formally be Sword and Hammer but with heavy Smash Bros inspiration. Meta can also call in for the Meta Knights to help him in one of his unique super moves. They’d all be there except for Sailor Dee and Captain Vul (one’s an alternate costume and the other is never seen outside of dialogue text).

-Bandana Waddle Dee’s moveset incorporates both Spear and Parasol, but due to the Spear being his most used tool he’ll be categorized with that.

-Marx is the first character with Unique as its own copy ability due to his arsenal being entirely based on his boss fight. Inhaling Unique characters doesn’t always allow Kirby to get copy abilities but when it happens he usually has their most basic move replacing the inhale. Gooey is in the same situation, but i have no idea what would Kirby get from him as an ability since he’s technically player 2 in the Dark Matter trilogy’s first 2 games. Rick, Kine and Coo would technically be categorized as Unique only because they have Fire, Water and Wind in their moveset. You could say they’d be stance characters while Marx is a zoner and Gooey a rushdown character.

-Dark Meta Knight is categorized as Mirror, and Adeleine (with Ribbon as an assist of course) is Artist. Daroach would be Animal, which is missing since its debut in Squeak Squad, as far as I can remember, but he naturally still retains his moveset of calling the Squeaks to help him.

-It’s pretty easy to categorize Magolor as ESP, and Taranza as Spider, while I have no idea what would Susie’s ability be even. Spark? She is mostly around in the Robobot Armor to be fair. The Three Mage-Sisters would be treated equally to the Animal Friends

THE NEWCOMERS

-NAGO, CHUCHU & PITCH: The other set of Animal Friends. I theorize a moveset revolving around the Cleaning ability like in Star Allies would be easy to make, although it can also incorporate moves from other abilities that have been in Dream Land 3.

-CHEF KAWASAKI: I think it’s safe to say this one is pretty easy to do just like the returning Dream Friends. He has a unique moveset in comparison to Chef Kirby that also has him use Kirby’s Final Smash from Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

-LOLOLO & LALALA: Aside from pushing boxes and Gordos they can be the Ice Climbers of the game, and most importantly one of their super moves could have them fuse into their original form in the anime to reference that further.

-SHADOW KIRBY: A clone (in terms of moveset) for Kirby that lacks the inhale ability and has more attacks based on his appearances in Amazing Mirror (and also on Kirby’s unique ability to split in four in these games) and the Kirby Fighters spinoffs. Simple as it is.

-THE MIDBOSSES: They all play the same as their fights too, so doing a paragraph for each of them would be a bit redundant. I chose to add minibosses in because most of them are pretty iconic among Kirby enemies and some of them are also technically friends of Kirby’s. I picked Bonkers (whose coconut throwing and some special moves could make him different enough from Dedede if you ask me), Mr. Frosty (also because we don’t have an Ice-based character in the game), Buggzy (which I can see being the ultimate grappler), King Doo (because we don’t actually have a Waddle Doo in the roster and he’s technically not only their king but also the most unique of them) and Grand Wheelie (look, I like Wheel as an ability ok? it’s like playing as Sonic in a Kirby game)

-KNUCKLE JOE: Taking stuff from both his Star Allies moveset and his Assist Trophy from Ultimate PLUS a few references to the anime and you have the ultimate Shoto character in the Kirby franchise. Ryu mains, this is the character for you.

-GIM: Look, my three favorite abilities are Yo-Yo, Wheel and ESP, in no particular order, so I HAD to include him and the Grand Wheelie. Magolor covers for ESP enough. This lil fella looks more unique than most of the generic Kirby enemies and even among the copy ability ones he’s always been a bit of an oddball due to being a robot. The trickshots you can do with this copy ability make Gim perfect to camp, so he’d be a pretty good zoner as well.

-TAC: He’s been a Helper in Super Star where he also has an unique moveset. Expanding on it and on Tac being generally a copy ability thief could mean more copy abilities can be implemented in a moveset, probably even more than what Kirby can do. Also his design just screams potential to me.

DLC FIGHTERS

WAVE 1: Spinoff Dream Friends

Cuz these guys have been done dirty by Star Allies’ devs. Elline would be the other Artist character in the game and call for Claycia’s assistance in specific attacks. Prince Fluff would play mostly just like Kirby himself did in Kirby’s Epic Yarn and implement specific transformations in some attacks, ending with the tank one from the end of that game. Then we have Gryll. If you know how to make a Tetris/Puyo Puyo based character in a fighting game then good for you, I absolutely don’t know how. What I KNOW however is that she has a float like Peach’s in Smash Bros and I-No’s in Guilty Gear.

WAVE 2: Dream Villains

These guys would all play exactly like their boss fights. Hyness and Sectonia would remain mostly unchanged while Haltmann in terms of moveset is the same as Susie, just without every non-Robobot move that she has.

WAVE 3: Clash of Blades

THAT’S RIGHT, IT’S ALL ANIME SWORDFIGHTERS. They all pull from their boss fights, but Morpho Knight is gonna be a bit more unique compared to Galacta, Dark Meta and Meta Knight, having in the swordfighter equivalent of Akuma’s Raging Demon. Meanwhile, Dark Matter Swordsman and Galacta Knight are completely faithful to the source material, but they’d probably be a bit nerfed due to Galacta’s universe-breaking powers. (you can bet that if we get the remaining legendary heroes who sealed Void Termina in future games they’d be their own separate Wave 5 DLC pack)

WAVE 4: Revival of Old Faces

Nightmare and Drawcia are back and they’re here to stay! Their movesets don’t really need that much changes. Void however is an entirely different beast. He’d be a mix of Kirby, both Zero incarnations and Dark Matter. His design wouldn’t just be giant orb that switches between Kirby and Dark Matter faces, he’d be Kirby-sized and with legs and stubby lil arms like the pink puffball. And you can bet your ass he’d be broken as fuck.

SKINS

If a character’s appearance changed across the series’ history (like Marx Soul, Girl Blob Gooey, Shoppe Magolor, Mecha Knight, Dark Taranza/Taranza in the Super Kirby Clash games, Masked/Shadow Dedede, Anime!Knuckle Joe, Parallel/Pres. Parallel Susie, EX versions and so on) they’d just be an alternate skin/palette swap for the specific character. Multiple characters of the same species with little changes (like a normal Waddle Dee or Sailor Dee, or literally all Kirby colors including Keeby) are the same. I’m also debating on how Dark Mind would be a skin for Nightmare or if there’d be a skin inspired by him for the Dark Matter Swordsman. Zero and Zero Two would probably be turned into palette swaps/outfits for Void (imagine a white Kirby cosplaying as Zero Two that’d be so cute lol).

ATTACKING ASSIST CHARACTERS

Characters who appear in other characters’ attacks. Like the aforementioned Squeaks, Meta Knights and Claycia. Normal Dark Matter would appear in DM Swordsman’s attacks in some capacity outside of the eye laser and the Gordo Throw would return from Dedede’s previous Smash incarnations alongside the Waddle Dee Throw from Brawl. And naturally Magolor can call in the Lor Starcutter for one of his super moves. I am actually considering giving Tac the ability to throw random items/enemies at opponents, with the Bomber being one of these. It’d be a very RNG attack with the Bomber being the best outcome, blowing on the opponent’s face.

HELPERS

All characters in the game can be called on for an Helper attack, that can help you in some form against the opponent by either damaging or tampering with the opponent or by having you get healed or with some buff. Outside from the playable roster enemies that give you copy abilities would also be Helpers, but the specific ones I’m not so sure on.

BOSSES

Characters you can fight in Arcade mode, in Story mode or in a specific Boss mode. There’d also be a Ganon’s Fury (Hyrule Warriors) inspired mode where you’d play as the bosses pitting them against each other. I specifically picked Dyna Blade, Whispy Woods, Landia, Star Dream, Kracko, Great Edge, Pyribbit, Ice Dragon, Fire Lion, Masher, Grand Mam, Metal General, Kibble Blade and Pon & Con.

STAGES

There’d be quite a lot of stages, but I haven’t thought out specific ones except for Green Greens, Butter Building, a Ripple Star stage, one for Dedede’s castle with stage cameos by Tiff, Tuff and Escargoon from the anime and every final boss’s fighting arena.

THE MUSIC

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is gonna be nothing compared to this one. We’re getting all the important music from all pre-Kumazaki games, all music from Kumazaki games and spinoffs, and online arrangements with focus on orchestral (Desolo Zantas), metal (GaMetal, of course) and EDM (Acid Notation, Qumu and various others), including stuff like Itoki Hana’s vocal arrangements. We’re going all out on this one.
