warning : flirting, some fluff, inner strugle, obsession, falling in love in Val's own twisted way

Summary : One more meeting with the Overlords of Hell and he would have loved to kill himself, but he couldn't escape the responsibility any longer. The meeting was made all the sweeter when his red eyes settled on something he had never seen before pure love.

He was a pimp, one of the three overlords who showed their power more than clearly every day. He had everything: hookers, money, souls and power. He was perfectly happy, I mean, he had the porn star from hell Angeldust and the TV demon Vox's ass was practically his. Everything the moth-like demon could want was his. But why did he have this gnawing feeling inside him, like a growling, a chirping, a buzzing, like a moth, a fucking moth looking for something.

But what was it when he had everything but that one gnawing feeling inside him when he saw her. He was inevitably summoned to the Overlord meetings and for once he couldn't avoid it because it was probably about something important.

The three Overlords entered the room with an engaging appearance and the moth demon made himself as comfortable as possible in the damned narrow chairs.

The meeting seemed to begin, the reports were always the same, the souls the same and the danger the same. ,,Get to the point, Carmilla darling, some of us have a fashion empire to run," Velvette muttered, glancing up from her cell phone, which made Vox snicker, who was probably more focused on his ratings, which had dipped a bit due to his nemesis Alastor.

Nothing a fuck can't fix, Valentino thought, taking a drag on his cigarette and letting the engulfing red smoke billow around him before taking a puff across the room.

He kept his hands off the smiling radio demon, however, who had only given the three of them a quick glance, and had to hold Vox to prevent his cute TV head from cracking another one.

Letting his gaze drift, his gold tooth flashing in the light of the lamps and inwardly wondering which was the best setting for the next porno, he heard the door open. All the overlords were there, so it could only be one of the subjects and enemies.

And actually he wasn't going to look behind his heart-shaped glasses but when he saw that sweet smell he just knew something wasn't normal. It was the sweet irresistible alluring attractive smell and no one else in hell had it but him.

The red eyes searched first for a demon of lust perhaps, something powerful but no he found only a simple demoness maybe a little cat-like as the fuzzy ears on her head indicated but otherwise like any normal inhabitant here in hell.

But why did she smell so good? What was it that he felt that he had never felt? He watched her as she walked with a silver tray under her arm to the respective overlords to order a few drinks.

It seemed as if he could see she was neither a robot nor a slave but rather one of Carmilla's protégés dark silver white clothes a pretty dress but a little too long for his taste. It didn't lack class, which a little smoke can't change.

With a grin he waited in his seat until she came to him and blew his heart out to her. ,,Aren't you a sweetie?" he grinned, ignoring her superior's gaze and having long since forgotten the conversation and the meeting.

She smiled slightly and the moth demon felt his wings needing to flap, moving his fingers almost hastily across the table as he slowly came a little closer to her.

He was nervous, a fact that shocked him. ,,Pretty trick Sir Valentino... what kind of drink do you want?" she asked, not moving away from him and following the red smoke lightly with her eyes, which slowly settled around her but didn't seem to take her in. He didn't check her at a glance even though her sweetness was so close to him.

One kiss, one look, one lick with his tongue was enough and he knew what made her come. But no, he didn't. He just said, ,,Love potion with berries, dear" before the tall man stood up again, pulling back first and looking at her form from behind his glasses. This feeling inside him was something he thought couldn't be.

Nervous and twitchy...am I no or? his thoughts revolved around her at that moment and why his dark heart in hell still beat for anyone at all. Could it be, could it really be that the pimp and overlord could lose his heart to a simple demon? He didn't know, but the way he felt it was like back then.

He still vaguely remembered his former life of this body function when people fell in love. But he didn't have any more time to think about it when the door opened again after a few minutes and he saw that she had come back.

Several drinks were lying on the silver tray and he could just see his puinken with berries sticking out. ,,Thank you dear, say would you like to earn a little extra money, maybe even become the star at my side?" he smiled, shielding her from the others with his wings.

His hands slowly placed themselves on her shoulders, wanting to have her with him forever. ,,You're different from AngelDust, from the princess of everything here... you could be my star," he suggested, watching her red eyes as she slowly realized what he was alluding to, what he really wanted and what it meant for her. ,,Sir-Lord I mean Valentine I'm flattered," she stammered and suddenly he felt the arrogance return to him.

He knew demons knew that once they were so taken in, once they were flattered, it was easy, wasn't it? ,,And so beautiful," he complimented and let the smoke slowly close around her.

Carmilla may have taken her, but in the end you are mine, thought the demon as he brought the back of her hand to his lips, running his tongue over it in a surprisingly gentle, warm and inviting way.

He saw her embarrassment, how she couldn't pull away and didn't want to. ,,And do I have you?" he asked, coming closer to her and wanting her closer, not like Angel, but wanting her in a different way, always with him somehow.

Before he was suddenly pulled away slightly by her and landed back on his chair, ,,Hands off my employee Valentino!" Carmilla warned and Val raised his hands placatingly and rolled his eyes. ,,Not at all Carmilla, I only wanted to confess my unethical feelings to such a pretty creature," grinned Valentino, feeling himself turning back into the demon he knew.

Before he spread his wings in warning and walked past the overlords with a broad grin. ,,See you around, pretty," he murmured with a wink before his wisp of smoke announced his departure and the moth demon withdrew from the meeting.

With his very own recognition of this meeting. He had to possess this beauty in one way or another and he had truly fallen in love, one more reason for him to get her soul and her heart when she had long since stolen both from him.

So Carmilla as soon as Sera shows up pregnant at her door wants to get married. She had always hated how the secret rendezvous made thier relationship feel like an affair with Carmilla as the mistress Sera hid from her "real" family and the fact that Carmilla had two of Sera's kids without telling her added to that guilt. But once heaven kicks Sera out she feels like she's won they are now a real family and she isn't the shameful mistress but a wife. While Carmilla may want to have a big wedding in the future I feel she may want to make it official as soon as possible maybe when Lucifer visits to see baby Emily she asks him to marry them right there. They can do the big party and wedding later.

"Wait, what? You want me to marry you two...right now?" Lucifer has to hold in his surprise, taking a step backward and bracing himself on his foot to keep from dropping Emily. The child in his arms is tiny. Barely a few weeks old. She reminds him so much of Charlie, who is currently at home with her own mother, sleeping soundly.

"We want to make this official as soon as possible," Carmilla insists. "Heaven pushed her out, but there's no telling what kind of games they'll try to play during the next Extermination. If she's my wife, people are more likely to leave her and Emily alone. And it will be easier for my people to accept them, so I can protect them both."

Lucifer looks down at Emily again. The baby is smiling, reaching up to try and touch his ruby-red cheeks. He's a small man, so even a baby of this size is a handful for him. The little wings flapping here and there aren't helping. She's ridiculously cute. Lucifer sighs.

"All right, but give me some time to...prepare," Lucifer hints. This is going to take a while to explain to the other rulers of Hell. He doesn't think Bee, Ozzy, or Bel will mind having a more freshly fallen angel in their midst, but Mammon might be a different story. He'll take some convincing. "Just let me make sure everything is on the up-and-up, and I'll be back with Ozzy to perform the ceremony."

Carmilla shakes her head. "No. Not a ceremony right now, Lucifer. We just want to get it on paper. We can do the ceremony when Sera is well again. Once she's recovered. Can you do that for now?"

"Su-sure," Lucifer says, a little surprised. He figured an angel would want a gigantic, extravagant affair. If they just want to get this on the books, then he can perform the rights himself. He'll just need some supplies.

"Since when does Ozzy do weddings, anyway?" Carmilla asks, raising an eyebrow.

Lucifer chuckles. "He's had a change of heart recently, I guess. Found there's a lot of money to be made in the romance biz. He's making bank!"

Carmilla smiles. "Figures. Thank you for this, Lucifer. It means a lot to us."

Lucifer hands Emily back to Carmilla. The baby is cooing, trying to take his hat with her. He grins, tipping his hat at the baby, then turning toward the door.

"Not a problem, Carm. Be right back."

So yeah, here we go again! I just watched 3rd n 4th eps of hazbin hotel so, again, my thoghts abt it. Idk if i really need to put spoilers warning anymore, but ig ill do it just in case. As with previous post there will be some screenshots.

HAZBIN HOTEL EP 3-4 SPOILERS WARNING!

So tbh i dont have much to say about 3rd ep. Overall it was a really cute ep where everyone kinda got along. Also we met alot of new overlords (that one giant wolf girl was cool as hell) n got a few bop songs. I really like all new voices we got here. Also Velvette was killin in this ep, like slay queen!! Also i didnt know this girl (idk her name srry) was Carmillas (idk if spelled the name correctly--) daughter, that really suprised me.

Ok 4th ep... I have alot to say about it. First of all when that Angels moive started i was like: WTH S GOIN ON WHAT????? Then i thoght that its Angels dream (or nightmare-) n that wolf guy was representation of Valentino. N then when its all started i was like: Oh. I get it.

Speaking about Val, when all that fire started n he opened his wings, that was FUCKING BEAUTIFUL N I REALLY DIDNT EXPECT HIM TO HAVE ACTUAL WINGS, I WAS LIKE: :O I FOR REAL ALWAYS THOUGHT THAT WAS JUST A FUR COAT--- ok n thats literally the only good i can say about Val by now.

That one awful scene with Val n Angel was literally so scary... Ive never been in SA, ive never had such "experience" (and thank GOD for that), but i know that feeling of fear when you just in trap and you cant do anything, i know how that feels to be abused, when you just hiding in corner feeling so fucking scared that you gonna get beated up n yelled again, you KNOW that will happen and you just wait for it in terrify, you literally feel yourself like a little child who cant do anything, you want to share your problems to someone, just wanna cry to someone, but you cant and you need to pretend that everything is okay. I was so scared for Angel in that scene and i really felt it. And the way Angel tried to make Charlie leave before that all happened.. Yes, he definetly knew whats gonna happen n thats so scary...

Anyway OMG VOX HIIII!!!!!! :DDDD

BTW THE FACT THAT HES HOLDING VALS HAND LIKE HE WAS ABOUT TO KISS IT----- THIS SHIP IS TAKING OVER MY BRAIN PLS SEND HELP

Yeah, yknow what really strange thing about all that? Is the fact that Val s obviously a horrible person consindering all the things he done to Angel, but he is still an ENJOYABLE CHARACTER. Like- ofc that awful abusive scene was not enjoyable at all, but for some reason i just cant hate him!! I TRY BUT I JUST CANT N THATS SO WEIRD. probably its because i know its not a real person, its just a character but still-

Also (someone pls count how many times i used this word-) i really didnt expect to see an ACTUAL SEX SCENES IN THE SONG. Ig i shouldve expect it n i kinda did, but i still didnt-

Also this little scene made me fucking cry, for real. But not the fact that Angel crying made me cry, but his line: "If i end up broken, I wont be his favourite toy anymore. And maybe he'll let me go.."

I dont know why this exact line made me cry, but it did and i think this is awesome, because they really made me care for Angel, even tho, again, ive never experienced such feelings so i cant relate to that, but i still feel so bad for him.

Ok can we talk about that Husk was AN OVERLORD??? I WAS LIKE: WHAAAAATT????

And OF COURSE that one Husk n Angels song. You already know how i feel about it so im not even gonna talk bout it! SIKE‼️I WILL!!!!! THIS SONG IS SO FRICKIN CUTE, THE FACT THAT HUSK STARTED TO JOKINGLY (or maybe not jokingly-) SAYING THAT ANGEL IS A LOSER TO BRIGHT HIM UP IS ACTUALLY SO SMART! THEYRE BOTH SO CUTE TOGETHER SINGING AND HOLDING HANDS FOR A LITTLE TOO MUCH!!! AND THIS SONG IS MUSICALLY ALSO SO AMAZING, ITS LITERALLY MY STYLE OF SONGS, MAYBE MY NEW FAV SONG I CANT REALLY TELL RN! And the meaning of this song is really good too. Whatever is happening to you, unless youre not alone, everything is better!

Andddd everything is ended quite good and wholesome! They came to the hotel, Charlie apoligized and everything is good!!

Honestly, the Hector fic I'm working on made me even more bitter against N!Hector, because, on paper? His concept is sound. Not only in S2 he had the potential to be a very creepy anti-villain, with his complete lack of feelings towards humanity (not disgust like N!Isaac, nothing at all, he just thought of them as another species of animals)... but his superficial traits would have been nearly perfect for another version of a pre-betrayal Hector.

Lacking of empathy towards humans but not to the point of wishing them to suffer? Sure. Hector in the MF manga mostly talks about his refusal to be used as a tool, and a neutral stance on genocide, as horrible as it sounds, means that Hector could both go through with it and then reason himself out of it, at first for pragmatic reasons. I also appreciate that N!Hector deliberately killed his own parents as a child, showing that he always had the capacity for murder, and I wish that was canon.

"Unlike humans, vampires see value in Hector's knowledge and forgemastery. The vampires are his natural social group." From the wiki, and this can apply to Dracula in particular. Of course Hector would at first gladly serve Dracula, when he's the only one who "gave him a place where he was allowed to exist". I don't think this would extend to every vampire, though.

Animal lover? It's canon that Hector has an affinity for animals, in both prequels.

Not too hard to make the jump that Hector prefers animals to humans. It's not even hard to make the jump to "Hector loves animals so much that he compares other creatures to them as a compliment".

Sheltered? Nowhere near to the point of trusting an obviously evil vampire lady, but if Hector lived in Castlevania ever since he was a child/teen, he can't have developed great social skills. I imagine Hector has trouble with talking and also with understanding others' body language, taking things too literally.

Cute, gentle demeanor? Nnnnnno... but also yes-ish. Kinda. The thing is that Hector can be legit cute when he wants to: he can go from this

and there is no contradiction. he's a babyfaced gigachad :P

What N!Hector lacks is the first part. The rare times he fights back, it's only to emphasize how weak he is. Had the writing combined his soft attitude with more showings of his power and ruthlessness, it would have worked perfectly, and it would have justified why Carmilla wanted him so badly for herself. But oh well :^)

Love-starved to the point of overriding his logical part? Oh yes. Hector is very much love-starved and he becomes completely devoted to Rosaly simply because she's nice to him. She lets him stay with her, and he's all "I’ll do anything for you, I’ll give you my arms and my eyes, I’ll give you my life without forgiveness or atonement". She says "thank you for being born" and that is enough for this battle-hardened ex-general to burst into tears. When Hector falls in love, he falls hard. The idea of someone pretending to love him only to betray his trust, hitting in his weak spot, would be soul crushing if done well :(

It's just. I vehemently reject the notion that Hector could ever be a manchild: it would have been perfect if this was teen Hector, and then he grew up into the coldy proudful Hector we see in the MF manga, to then become the sensitive empathetic Hector of the PtR manga once he's with Rosaly, to then finally transition into his cursed and belligerent CoD self. You know. A character arc, which N!Hector lacks until S4 suddenly turns him into a sassy bitch?

But of course, it's not just that: it's the fact that N!Hector was purposefully stripped of his agency; his growing moment of realizing that no, he doesn't have to kill innocents, he can affirm himself, he can leave, being turned into "sexy vampire lady sweet talks him until she beats the shit out of him"; and also, well, Season 3 was too busy jerking off and coming all over N!Hector being tortured and raped by deception to give him a personality; and as the cherry on top of the shitcake, N!Hector is theoretically turned into a badass in S4, but 1) he still doesn't do much compared to Creator's Pet N!Isaac, and 2) nothing he went through matters because they had a Lenector agenda to push.

What a waste of a very intriguing character. Insulting writing for many more reasons than "but hector is supposed to be a chad".

Like, when his radio effect falters and you can hear his real voice, or when it glitches because he wants to be intimidating, or when he adds cute little radio noises or music in the background, or WHEN HE SINGS OH I’M ON MY KNEES WHEN HE SINGS, and his cute transatlantic accent, and when he loses it because he’s surprised, and when he sings, and when he uses nicknames and pet names so casually, and when he’s sarcastic and witty and evil and powerful and when he sings and- *gets dragged off stage*

3. Lucifer

He is SO CUTE no one ever talk to me EVER again. I want to protecc. I want to cuddle. His cute pink cheeks are so pinchable and his hair is fabulous and the fact he’s canonically autistic and an adhder? THE WAY WE UNDERSTAND EACH OTHER!! The way he loves and cares for his daughter so much!!! The way he’d do anything for her and to get her approval!!!!!

He so smexy and powerful and I don't know why but he dresses so gender in my opinion. His power, his influence.... The moments when his voice glitches and the moments when he buffers...... So fucking hot....... VOX PLEASE I’M ON MY KNEES

5. Okay here comes a weird one but hear me out................ Zestial.

THE old soul. THE original Overlord. The way he speaks! It’s so silly but also charming! When he sings!!! EVERYONE IS SLEEPING ON THE WAY MY ZESTIAL SINGS!!!!!!!! The way he worries for Carmilla!!!!!!!!!!!!! HIS SILLY INTERACTION WITH ALASTOR!!!!??? I don’t care what everyone says HE’S CUTE. If nobody wants him then good, more for me.

Carmilla: Hollstein + Crossover Prompts

The following is a repost to fix issues I had with the original.

As some who follow my posts may know, I have a habit of writing up prompts and ideas for fics that I may or may not get around to writing. Almost all over them crossovers.

Maybe I have two much time on my hands.

One of my ongoing stories is Love's Sacrifices, a crossover between Carmilla: The Series and Pitch Perfect. I first wrote a post about my Pitch Perfect headcanons, but I never got around to writing any for Carmilla: The Series. So I thought I'd remedy that. I also wrote three posts regarding headcanons and ideas I may put into a future crossover involving The Craft, Ginger Snaps and Jennifer's Body. Y’know, if you want to check those out.

As for Carmilla: The Series, while I don't have than many headcanons that aren't already part of the story, I do have plot bunnies for potential fics that would be follow ups to Loves Sacrifices. Since I don't have that many, the following three are what comes to mind the most.

1. I really love the idea of Carmilla, Laura and maybe the rest of the Silas Gang just going town to town, where different horror (related) movies or series take place; such as Beacon Hills (Teen Wolf) or Mystic Falls (The Vampire Diaries), or Devils Kettle (Jennifer's Body). Laura, as an investigative reporter would constantly be looking into the happenings in these communities, and ends up having interviews with characters from said shows/movies as part of the job.

Other times, Carm and Laura would end up in these communities by happenstance; they end up in Haddonfield, Illionis during All Hallows Eve ? Let’s just say they are in for one eventful Halloween night.

They end up going on a road trip ? Suddenly their car breaks down in Springwood, Ohio where they have to contend with the certain dream invading serial killer’s ghost.

Unfortunately, while I can think of all the different misadventures Carm and Laura would be in for, I don't have an actual story to go with these. Although, I like the idea of one of Laura's interviews escalating in her and Carm going on a double date.

2. One idea that's a little more set in stone is a crossover with Legacies. It'd involve Carmilla and Laura temporarily moving to Mystic Falls when their kid ends up attending The Salvatore Academy. It would also have Carmilla take a job as a teacher, where she ends up doing a better job than Alaric as a mentor, teacher, and parental figure (even to Alaric's own daughters). This despite Carmilla, being pretty laid back as a teacher.

Giving the time Love's Sacrifices is set, and the time I assume Legacies takes place, Hollstein junior would be one of the younger students at the Academy. In fact, the kid probably would be younger than Pedro at this point. I already have these different ideas for what Baby Hollstein would be like at this point in time; they'd try to act smarter or tougher than they actually are (read: mimicking both Carmilla and Laura's personalities), but every time they do so, the older students would be too distracted by how cute the kid is; much glomping/fawning would ensue, much to Hollstein Junior's indignant embarrassment and annoyance.

I also thought of a way to tie The Vampire Diaries lore with that of Carmilla: The Series. I already put this idea into Love's Sacrifices. Basically, it would have Silas and Qetsiyah of TVD turn out to be a follower to Inanna; with Silas being a surrogate son to Inanna, and her "favorite" at the time (so much so, tha Silas University would turn out to be named after him). It was Inanna who was the source of their power, and the immortality cure, which created a different strain of vampires. This would be used to explain the differences between vampires in TVD and Carmilla: The Series.

3. Hollstien as Vampire Queens.

This is another one I had in mind for a while, but I wanted to do Hollstien in a post apocalyptic setting. It ended up mixing with a crossover between The 100 (canon divergence) and The Shannara Chronicles I've been cooking up for some time.

Because I couldn't stand the idea of one outliving the other, or even Carmilla and Laura dying together, I like to imagine them becoming Queens and Protectors of their own vampire kingdom - an mysterious and dreaded "clan" not considered part of the Grounder's Coalition or the Four Lands. On the more wholesome flipside, I thought of Carmilla and Laura ending up as temporary guardians to a significantly younger Lexa and/or Eretria when they briefly become separated from their people, which may soften their view on these two in the “present” day.

Top 10 Favorite Fictional Couples

Happy Valentines Day, people on the internet who probably won't read this! I'm an Ordinary Schmuck. I write stories and reviews and draw comics and cartoons. And even though I'm a lonely bastard who will absolutely die alone one day, I am also a sucker for romance. If a story decides to include a cute couple in it, then you better believe I'm going to gush over them for an unhealthy amount of time for a man my age. Even more so if they answer the three most essential questions that I think applies to every romantic couple in fiction:

Why do they like each other? (Looks don't count. It can be an option, but it shouldn't be the only option.)

Would it make sense for them to be together? (Like, if this couple would exist in real life, would you expect them to last.)

Do they have chemistry? (This is the most important one as a couple can dominate just by the chemistry alone.)

So today, I am going to rank my top ten favorite couples in fiction, who just so happen to answer most, if not all, of these questions. Now, I could be cute and make a top fourteen list...but not too long ago, I just listed off the twenty best-animated series of the 2010s, so I think it's best if I stick to the basics. Also, I should make a few things clear:

A. These are couples, not ships. The pairing has to have a canon kiss, or at the very least, a canon confession to be on the list. This means sorry, Lumity fans, but Luz and Amity are not going to be on this list...even though they would absolutely be #1 if they could be!

B. The couple has to at least spend an entire episode being together, which means no last-minute hookups because the writers wanted to drag out the romantic tension. (Sorry, Catradora fans)

With that out of the way, let's get started with--

10. Laura Hollis and Carmilla Kernstien from Carmilla (Web Series)

The chemistry between these two is on point. Laura’s and Carmilla's actors Elise Bauman and Natasha Negovanlis are so convincing when acting like a couple that I am honestly shocked to find out they never actually dated. This is good because everything else about Laura and Carmilla's relationship is...kind of the worst. Don't get me wrong, as a couple, these two are fantastic, adorable, well-written, and well-performed. But the writers seem very fond of keeping them bickering and broken up rather than actually having them together. And that is where the issue lies. If the writers committed to Laura and Carmilla being together instead of doing this whole "will they or won't they" crap, on top of them being selfish idiots in season two, then you better believe they would be in the top three, at least. As they are, they at least act adorable enough to make the top ten.

9. Gregg and Angus from Night in the Woods

Ok, I'm gonna level with you: I just wanted to put an mlm relationship on this list, and this was the best I can come up with (I haven't seen Good Omens, nor have I finished Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts yet to see Benson's relationship with Troy. Leave me alone). As a male bisexual, I'm kind of disappointed. I know that male pairings exist in media, but for the life of me, I don't think they are as celebrated as much, or as frequent, as female pairings have been. This is sad because I would honestly love to see how more couples like Gregg and Angus.

These two act so much like a real couple. Gregg and Angus care and support each other so much, yet they still have big arguments as any couple would. They clearly love each other but still have issues they both need to deal with if they want to grow. Plus, I'm just a sucker for opposites attract. And you can't get more opposite than the loud and bombastic Gregg and his quiet and serious boyfriend Angus. There are probably better mlm pairings than these two (And if there are, then let me know. I'd love to check them out), but Gregg and Angus prove that any relationship, no matter the gender, can be the same as any other. Both the wholesomeness and the faults.

8. Peter Parker and Michelle Jones from the Marvel Cinematic Universe

I put these two a little low because we barely see them spend time as a couple. Peter and Michelle got together at the end of Spider-Man: Far From Home, and we only get a glimpse of how their relationship works in the last few minutes. However, I'm willing to argue that they count because they are guaranteed to be a couple in the sequels, and we'll be allowed to see them grow. How often do you get to say that for other fictional couples who get together at the end of a long story? Plus, Peter and Michelle earn extra bonus points for being the best couple in a Spider-Man movie. Michelle is a league's better character than the MJ in the Sam Rami trilogy, and the chemistry is still adorable but not overtly cutesy like it was in The Amazing Spider-Man movies. So even though Peter and Michelle just got together, they show a lot of promise, if you ask me. Their interactions are adorable, you can tell that Michelle likes Peter for Peter, and they are the most accurate depictions of young love you’ll ever see. Just look at that first kiss. It was one filled with inexperience and awkwardness and I just love it! I’m already interested in what these two have to offer and I can’t wait to see what happens next with them.

7. Andy Dwyer and April Ludgate from Parks and Recreation

The best description you'll ever hear about this couple is that they are what happens when a dog and a cat fall in love. Andy is dopey, happy, and loyal to no end. April is intimidating, cynical, and is already plotting your murder as we speak. What I'm saying is that these two shouldn't work...but they do. Somehow, by every leap of logic, Andy and April complete each other. They are both so far gone from reality, yet at the same time, both keep each other grounded in more ways than one. It's a weird paradox that never ceases to amaze, nor does it cease to be adorable. They do go through bullcrap love triangles and a "will they or won't they scenario" in seasons two and three, but once that crap is over, the writers lean into the potential these two have as a great couple. And trust me when I say that it is all lovely to watch.

6. Rapunzel and Eugene from Tangled: The Series

Huh. I guess romance really does exist after Happily Ever After.

Joking aside, I was surprised by how well these two work as a pairing. Usually, when the Disney Prince and Princess get together in the end, there is nothing more to the relationship. And even if their movie gets a spin-off series, the dynamic is as generic and forgettable as it can be. For Rapunzel and Eugene, it is different. Their chemistry is top-notch, their constant love and support for each other are admirable/adorable, and the complete trust they have for one another is absolute perfection. I was already surprised by how good Tangled: The Series was, but the fact that the main couple is somehow better here than they were in their own movie is something I would have never expected.

5. Rigby and Eileen from Regular Show

And seeing how we're talking about surprises, who saw these two being the best couple in the series? With the number of times that the writers focussed on Mordecai's romantic hang-ups and how often Muscle Man and Starla were considered the only canon couple, I was shocked when it turned out Rigby and Eileen have the best loving relationship in Regular Show. Even crazier, their relationship is built entirely in the background of the first six seasons. Since her introduction, Eileen has been head over heels for Rigby since the beginning (for reasons I'll never understand), and Rigby slowly reciprocated. Until the big reveal in the season six finale, there was nothing but implications as they were trying to hide their relationship and not rub how perfect it is in Mordecai's face (no matter how much Rigby wants to). But once we get to see them as an official couple, it all becomes clear why they work so well. Eileen loves Rigby for Rigby, and will always support him, faults and all. Rigby pays it all back in spades, wanting to be a better person, as well as a better boyfriend, for the one person who always believes there was something good inside. Not even his own best friend had that much faith in him. And on top of all of that, they're just cute. They may not have been the central hook in the series, but they are definitely much appreciated.

4. Chris and Elise from Dan Vs./Millie and Moxxie from Helluva Boss

These four are tied because they pretty much have the same dynamic. Chris and Moxxie are these pathetic losers who somehow managed to marry Elise and Millie: Badass assassins who could effortlessly marry any man they want. And what they want are their pathetic losers. It's extra wholesome for Chris and Elise, as Chris really can't do that much right, especially in comparison to the ever-perfect Elise. Yet, she still cares deeply for Chris and will promptly destroy anyone or anything that causes him harm. That being said, while Millie and Moxxie are both equally deadly, there is an odd hilarity to the fact that these literal demons from hell are so gosh darn wholesome. Seriously, their literal job is to kill people who screw over those who went to hell, and I'm always going "D'aww" when M and M always do something cute. Explain that logic to me!

There's nothing more I can say about these four, as they're adorable couples that prove love comes in the most impossible circumstances and the unlikeliest places.

3. Ruby and Sapphire from Steven Universe

I'll always remember that Ruby and Sapphire are the first couple that proved to me that there is nothing wrong with a same-sex pairing, especially in children's media. Before Steven Universe, I wasn't necessarily told that same-sex couples are wrong, but they're not meant for kids. Then I found out that these two girls, on a kids show of all places, we're madly in love and my first response was: "...Huh." And this was before I knew I was bisexual, so I wasn't even that obsessed about it at the time. But the more I saw Ruby and Sapphire, and the more I learned about how starved the LGBTQ+ was for representation, the more I really appreciated them. Ruby and Sapphire never fail to be precious, and the fact that they barely spend any longer than a few minutes apart is downright heartwarming (and incredibly literal if you've seen the show). They also broke a ton of barriers to proper representation. Not only were Ruby and Sapphire one of the first explicit lesbian couples in children's animation, but they're also the first ones to actually get married. Because of such a power move, many networks and shows make it less of a challenge for writers to include more gay characters in their stories. There is still a lot of hard work that those writers face, but it certainly seems it's less of a challenge than it would be before Steven Universe came out (Ha!). Ruby and Saphire are the first fictional gay couple I have been introduced to and have made an incredible impression ever since.

2. Princess Bonnibel Bubblegum and Marcelene Abadeer from Adventure Time

But while it's Ruby and Sapphire that introduced me to the concept of a same-sex couple, it's Princess Bubblegum and Marceline that made me root for one. In (I want to say) 2017, I started rewatching Adventure Time, knowing that queer relationships were indeed a thing. This means that not only did I finally caught the INCREDIBLY noticeable subtext in "What Was Missing," but I was legitimately chanting, "Kiss! Kiss! Kiss!" when I got to the episode "Varmints." And when they finally did kiss in the series finale, I full-on jumped out of my chair and screamed, "YES!" That never happens. Not even for the straight couples that I've obsessed over before this. Either I coo at how adorable they are, or just smile a warm and gentle smile. But letting out a very audible cheer that my college roommates definitely heard? That shows how deeply I cared for these two. And can you really blame me?

Not only is the chemistry on point with Bubblegum and Marceline, but it's interesting getting to see their relationship evolve through the course of the series. They have a dynamic of a couple who broke up on bad terms (long before "Obsidian" confirmed this), and you slowly get to see them reconnect to that spark they lost long ago. Plus, the more you see them interact, the more of their history is revealed, and thus it becomes clear why they fell for each other in the first place. Bubblegum keeps Marceline responsible, while Marceline helps Bubblegum learn how to loosen up. They balance each other nicely, and after some much needed growing up from the both of them, that spark returns. And they're much more of a loving unit than they were years ago. It's incredible to watch, and I would honestly see an entire spin-off series about them. But, as great as Bubblegum and Marceline are, there is a reason they are not my number one.

1. Percy Jackson/Annabeth Chase from Percy Jackson and the Olympians/Heroes of Olympus

And that reason is that I can't resist the first-ever pairing that I obsessed over. Percy and Annabeth might just be the example I live by for how couples should be written in media. Dynamic wise, of course. In terms of telling a story, their relationship was handled poorly in Percy Jackson and the Olympians. It was filled with agonizing love-triangles, a very long wait, and they were one of those couples who didn't get together until the end of the series. Which is a major no-no, in my opinion. But, when they finally get to be a couple in Heroes of Olympus, it is downright perfection. Percy and Annabeth are what happens if these two badass warrior heroes fell in love. They worry about each other and are willing to die for each other (if need be) but still have an intense amount of faith and trust for one another. The number of times Percy or Annabeth knew they would be alright because they have each other is incredibly high, no matter what series of books they appear in. They work well together, as well as off each other. Percy is this bumbling idiot who wins his battles through a mix of luck and skill, where Annabeth is this intelligent warrior who has trained since the age of seven. They compliment each other perfectly, and their constant playful bickering is always fun. I love these two, I love their love, and they will always be one of my favorite fictional couples in media.

(That is until Luz and Amity from The Owl House become cannon. In which case, you better believe they'll be number one.)

Castlevania part 2: disappointment

Let's start talking about Sypha and Trevor. I actually really like the duo dinamic these 2 have. I enjoyed their conversations and they way they behave. Still, what I really hate is the main plot. Sometimes while I watched the show I had the feeling I already saw what they were doing and we kinda did. Let me explain, the previous season introduced us to this (satanic) village, they helped the priest and then they discovered they helped to a fetishistic monster. This season they are more cautious but still, same dynamic, let's help targeviste, let's help this people, oh my god, the royalty is dead, oh my god, by chance they have a transporter cristal which just so happens to go to Alucard's castle... i mean... really? i didn't need that storyline. I couldn't care less about Zamfir and her issues to let go. Why our favorite trio had to reunite so late? I mean chapter 9? really? really?. Regarding the mirror... is script covenience.

I would like Trevor and Sypha actually missing Alucard. It feels cold. However I got excited when they reunited. i need to talk about Saint germain or in another words: how to still ruining the main plot.

Saint Germain

Brave piece of shit. I actually feel some sympathy for this character. But i mean... wtf? I dont even know where to start with him. I have to say that when i saw the aliens i went 😃 wtf? His storyline with this woman was cute til it started to be creepy. The fact we didn't hear her voice/opinion is disturbing. Basically, this push me to think she didn't share the same opinion, or maybe she didn't like him and wish to use or betray him. It's just him talking, just his ideas. And the shit about alchemy and the hermaphrodite to bring Dracula and lisa back? 😃 wtf. The plot is kinda ridiculous at this point. This thing about Varney, death and the woman in space-time is ridiculous. I dont feel it has been well-written.

I think this character shouldn't have been in this season, I was hoping him to be in the spin-off where he would have more depth and we could figure out who he was looking for. Respect to Varney and Ratko I adore they way they were drawn and personalised but this makes me mad, because I don't mind about Varney, Ratko, Death, or de plot about Saint Germain. We already had a villain, the big villain and SHE WAS MAGNIFICENT AND SHE SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE BIG BIG BOSS, yes CARMILLA.

I had the idea that Doll got to the Kelvin manor in time to see/find out everything, and is horrified by what was happening to the kids, and seeing it, she can’t justify it, and all she can remember now is the others always scolding her for being to soft, for not wanting to kidnap children, to murder innocent people, Sebastian also corrects her on who was the one to actually let slip the pertinent information. The fact that Beast was willing to let her shoulder all the blame hurts, and seeing Ciel’s reaction to the basement area, hearing even some of what happened to him, when he shoots Kelvin she feels relieved, and can’t quite bring herself to run to Joker’s side after Sebastian cuts his arm off.

Doll pulls on Sebastian’s coat, as the Doc is going to kill the little girl and tells him “you can’t let him live” and Ciel gives the order through his panic. Doll’s pretty numb, but manages to stop Ciel when he Sebastian to burn down the manor and killing everyone. She goes with them to find the old orphanage/workhouse long derelict and abandoned, and slips into a slight catatonic state.

She remain that way for quite awhile, after a month of careful tending she comes out of it, surprised to find herself not stowed away in a hospital, kicked out into the street, or even at the very least a back servants room, but instead in one of the guest rooms of Phantomhive Manor, dressed in a soft, fine flannel nightgown. She cries a little, because maybe, maybe Smile, maybe he really meant their handshake, and maybe she’d

She asks Ciel to “give her a new name” as she no longer wishes to be Doll. Ciel decides on Eleanor, with “Nell” as an affectionate nickname. She goes to the Circus once, to explain to the others that she and Joker and the rest will not be returning, appointing a new ringmaster, and collecting Snake, and sadly telling him the whole truth. He chooses to stay with her, “Smile” and “Black” and becomes a Phantomhive footman.

She officially becomes “Eleanor Michaelis” supposedly Sebastian’s niece/cousin/distant relative orphaned and come to live with them (though many, including Lizzy’s brother are positive she’s Ciel’s mistress....)

Lizzy herself is delighted to have a girl her age with whom she can be close and helps “Nell” integrate with the world (and helps design her lovely clothes)

“Nell” and Lizzy become close and so when Ciel is invited aboard to Campania, so is she, Nell is impressed, along with Ciel, over Lizzy’s swordsmanship and (Ciel isn’t sure how the subject even came up) both girls decided that they would both be the future wife of the queen’s guard dog. (when ciel splutters both girls are offended and ask is there is anything wrong with them, does he not wish to marry them?) Ciel gives up at this point and Sebastian is deeply amused.

“Nell” is with them during the emerald witch arc and takes to Sieglinde right away, and after explaining (to Ciel’s horror) how she and Lizzy are both Ciel’s fiancé’s Sieglinde takes a shine to the idea and after things go down, hopes that Lizzy will agree to allowing her to also become Ciel’s fiancé.

Ciel’s Aunt talks to him about Nell and Sieglinde and after realizing that the girls are the ones going for the idea, decides it might not be such a bad one, as the wife of the queen’s guard dog is a dangerous and lonely position.

She even manages to find old/ancient records that sort of allow for multiple wives and after queen Victoria meets with the young ladies in question, she agrees and gives royal dispensation for the future marriages (partly because ensuring Sieglinde is married to a loyal British subject will be quite useful. Also Nell and Lizzy’s dual ability to ensure Ciel doesn’t go to far is a bonus.

Ciel is rather put out over not actually being consulted on any of this, but it does seem to please the girls and with Nell and Sieglinde to occupy more of her time, Lizzy doesn’t try making the mansion “cute” all that much anymore nor does she harass the servants quite as much.

(it takes quite a bit of explaining to Soma and Agni why a royal dispensation was even needed for having multiple wives during with Ciel’s forehead vein nearly burst and he ends up with Soma trying to get him to also marry one of his sisters)

Sebastian and Ciel do slowly realize they are in love as well, and the ladies don’t really mind, and well, Ciel, Sieglinde, and Nell all agree that watching a sword bout between Sebastian and Lizzy is very, very appealing.

Lord Grey comes around more and more as the years go by, and his attempts at courtship/flirting are so odd that no one actually realizes he’s trying to woo them until Phipps steps in because he’s fed up with the bizarre mooning.

Also, turns out Snake can lay eggs and Ciel is quite glad that he has so many wives as it makes it easier to hide how he ended up with two extra children.

Concerning the twin ciel’s thing I go with Nell especially being positive that Lizzy is on their side as is biding her time, and that she actually had guessed that Ciel wasn’t the original one, as when the spoke of them she always called real!Ciel “the ciel from before” and our!ciel “my ciel” and seemed to be refering to different people.

*I do have a vague idea of future children (okay lots mostly i love names XD)

ah fuck ah shit they’re all so excellent i will instead list my favorite things about all of them in order of my vague memory of when they joined the crew. also i smell good how dare you. also FYI for anyone not informed about the Lore, all the shit i’m gonna reference below is a hundred percent canonical.

-jonny: has an ego three thousand times larger than his short ass, king of hubris and not understanding anything. loves his sister dearly, but draws the line at random orgies, which i respect. drags corpses onto the ship like a cat bringing home a kill and tells carmilla to fix his new friends. eyeliner and belt game slay me. (four belts? FOUR??) sad and totally made up backstory, he just lied to everyone’s face about his daddy issues and they were like “chill, let’s write a song where you play all the parts and burn down a casino.” eats people sometimes, which is a positive trait in my heart.

-nastya: my god, finally a voice of reason- ah never mind. her vibes are impeccable, my mysterious trans lesbian queen is unique and absolutely vibing <3 “fuck the ship-!” “i do :3″ is my favorite line of dialogue in anything ever. machinefucker and very proud of it, to an almost concerning degree. that one picture where she’s resting two of her fingers on her chin and cocking her hip as she looks up at the sky makes me Yell.

-toy soldier: my beloved it/its inanimate enby ts!! i love it bc it just. vibes. it has so much fun singing and playing instruments and just fucking around with its friends. who would’ve thought the war criminal with a stolen voicebox would be the most babey of this group?? SPEAKING OF ITS VOICE HOLY SHIT. TRIAL BY SONG CAUSES HEART PALPITATIONS. adorable little nutcracker with the saddest fucking backstory infinity/10

-tim: so very very done with jonny but we all know they make out in “secret”. hit that fucking high note as loki so well, my god, he put his whole pussy into that! go gayboy relive that trauma! plays out of tune guitar like a champ and has a ten minute long song dedicated to him blowing shit up, what a power move. excellent hair and long sweeping coats, extremely gender of him.

-brian: ohhh sweet boy. but also totally commits atrocities? like he wouldn’t kill an octokitten that was eating marius alive but he’d let a million people die just so he didn’t have to hurt anyone, and that’s just on mje mode- his morals are so fucked, poor man. also hung upside down inside a sun for a century and respects the hell out of trans people and brings people back to life and those are just a few of my favorite things about him. he fully committed to the steampunk look when he got mechanized and i love that so much. also has the potential to be a tumblr sexyman.

-ashes: ASHES!! ashes ashes ashes. first off what a fucking good name that’s like a murderer naming themself Dead People. they’re the hottest, it’s just a fact, sorry everyone but they are just. mmm. carries around gold bars and cigars and gasoline and nothing else which i respect so much. (though where do they put that stuff? their hat??) sings excruciatingly beautifully and snarks at all the idiots they call their friends and practices the three r’s (rage, repression, and radicalness) so i cannot not love them.

-ivy: mystery wife! her whole thing is stories and yet she doesn’t know her own that’s so fucking pog of her. what does an archivist on a spaceship even do dawg it’s not like the other guys care about the cultures they’re annihilating, i’m pretty sure she just sits in her bunk and reads. why did she need her brain replaced? why does she have such crazy memory problems? how does her new brain calculate all these percentages? we don’t know! she’s very cute and wears fishnets and has a mohawk-ponytail which i adore. play me to sleep on ur flute please miss

-raphaella: twenty points right off the bat for having wings and wearing a knit crop top. what is she going for with her look, we don’t know, but she could do horrific experiments on me and i’d thank her, so it’s working, clearly. alternatively tortures and tops the shit out of marius, i will die on this hill. also a terrifyingly good singer, those little “the void siIings” in losing track make my breathing stop and the entirety of ties that bind is so fucking amazing i. hhhh

-marius: christ i love you mr neither a baron nor a doctor. the other guys are dumb but he’s the himbo of the group just for being That Way. also most of his characters’ (who are also himbos) lines are something along the lines of what the fuck or i don’t understand so i’m gonna punch you. he’s adorable and has such bastard vibes, even his outfit is ridiculous and cute. even though lyf was a cop he deserved to get a happy ending with them ok?? i just love him and his liddol raccoon face and he deserves a slow burn criminal/detective to crew mates to lovers.

Puggy’s Castlevania S3 Review (WARNING: SPOILERS)

Okay. So I finished S3 yesterday, and... Well, there’s a lot to process. Many people have mixed opinions about it: some love it, some hate it, and some are in between. For me, this season had a ton of ups and downs, most of which have me debating on whether I’m watching Castlevania anymore or something else entirely. And, for that matter, I’m debating on whether I really want to watch any future seasons or keep following along in this fandom. Here are the biggest things that stood out to me:

Out of all the engines going in this series, Isaac’s story was, by far, the best that I’ve seen. At this point, I don’t think I can call him evil because he’s so well-rounded and respectable as a person (Not a character, a person). Yes, he’s done some terrible shit, but we get to see his deeper intentions, and his thought process and philosophy get exploited a lot through the interactions he has with people. And honestly, I can see him developing into something much bigger.

I also really liked Striga and Morana. They got a lot more spotlight and personality than I anticipated, and I can definitely see a lot of potential with them. Could they eventually cause some conflict amongst the four vampire sisters? Better yet, could they one day be the cause of Carmilla’s demise? Who knows...

They’ve finally started to reveal tiny bits of the goodness of humanity here and there, as the previous two seasons have failed to do. I liked that.

I was honestly starting to like the Judge, at least up until the very last episode. But the demand to burn his house down has me thinking. Was he remorseful about what he did, or did he want to carry the skeletons in his closet to his grave?

Now I have to talk about the biggest thing that’s bothering me... The development of Trevor and Sypha. I remember saying many times that it was one of the best-done romances because it was slow, original and organic. Frankly, the sudden shoe-horning of all the sexual stuff at the very beginning really put me off to the ship. They’re still a super cute couple, and I do like Sypha big time as I do Trevor, but it honestly felt like too much, and there was no relationship development done for us to see. I think I would’ve been more comfortable with the sex stuff if they built that up better. And okay, I’ll admit it. The sex stuff has me a little jealous. Let’s put that out there.

As a matter of fact, the sexuality in this series skyrocketed DRAMATICALLY. Like, 0 to 100. You guys are gonna look at me like I’m crazy, since I myself write a lot of erotic fics, but I’ll give my opinion... It was a little too much. Yes, sex scenes are great and all, and they make good plot devices if you use them right. But you don’t need them to make a good story-- that’s sort of what I liked about the first two seasons. And to make so damn much of it happen all at the same time was a bit of overkill. The one with Alucard we could’ve done without. Hector and Lenore would’ve been fine, if they died it down a bit. The sex implications and pillow talk between Trevor and Sypha should’ve been postponed for long after some more relationship development.

However, I’m giddy over the thought that Alucard is Bi. And Trephacard is my OT3, so if they were to eventually include something sexy in this series, I would’ve settled for saving the threesome for these awesome peeps (eventually, not right away).

Alucard’s ending has me super unsettled. I really loved the fact that he showed unconditional compassion to humans, despite their flaws, but now I’m getting chills and wondering whether he will follow in his father’s footsteps. Please, please, please don’t turn him into an antagonist... Please...

Alucard should’ve gotten his own outfit change. And should’ve gotten to join in on all the action. Please, for the love of God, reunite him with the other two. Make the holy trinity once again.

And, most importantly...

Just where the fuck is Cezar??? Let Alucard have his fucking dog, please!

Since you like my alt-Marauders (WHICH IM SO HAPPY FOR) how about challenge for headcanons of them interacting with the Smashers, as allies or foes or just a chance encounter? No need to, I just thought it might be something you'd have fun with!

@thecorteztwins k I'm suddenly in a big writing mood so!! FINALLY getting around to this I'm so sorry sksksk

For anyone who doesn't know: Thecorteztwins has an amazing au where she's collected Haven (thicc angel lady who was possessed by a demon disguised as a baby), Claudine (Miss Sinister),Madelyne (clone of Jean Grey), Pyro, Sebastian Shaw, Shinobi Shaw and sometimes Alice (a clone being tested by Claudine)!

I feel like the first few days are really testy. Everyone's got some bone to pick, the usual. But the biggest thing? The name. A brief encounter with paparazzi ends with their name and the reactions go from Pyro and Claudine scoffing at how silly it sounds and what a rip off it is (Pyro being a writer?? U KNOW he wouldn't stand for Alt Marauders) to Shaw sighing about the fact that he's been stuck on a team with a cliche super nickname.

Then there's personal names because once again, Pryo and Shinobi both agree that everyone needs a name to reapply make them unique! Hardly anyone goes for it, ranging from Haven's soft "no thank you" to Shaw punting Pyro into a wall. Madelyne is slightly soft for Pyro's RPG themed alias ideas for her and less than impressed for Shinobi's idea of "Mad Milf".

Alice....I'm definitely thinking she gets nicknamed "White Rabbit" or "Wonderland" because; 1) no one can leave her out of getting a name. 2) Pyro 100% would give a cheesy media related name and 3) I like the very small connections of white rabbit to the white and red queens in Alice in Wonderland (and 4) rabbits always get experimented on :).

Gamma Gals having amazing duos with the ladies of the Marauders? Absolutely!!

Jen and Haven, being an amazing duo and I feel like they'd be the two who would have that issue where they're the only ones who can save the day and end up learning a lot from each other? Haven is probably thanking her stars that she finally gets to meet a hero who believes in her kindness just as much as she does (S H A W).

Just....Haven being able to meet an even bigger woman and trading stories and being GalPals(TM). Its a really interesting concept to me that Haven is someone who was deliberately used to destroy and Jen is someone who's entire identity is formed around smashing and destruction. It's probably rather cathartic to be working with someone who purely doesn't want to resort to violence immediately and who has been used (Haven by her demon and Jen by different people).

But also learning something from each other? Haven being able to see that sometimes you do need to fight for what you love and Haven proves to Jen that even after all this time, it isn't the muscle or power that can save everything, it's her and her drive and will alone. Catch Red and Shaw scoffing about it.

Speaking of, those two could either REALLY clash or really get along, no imbetweens. Have we found another old man for Shaw to wrestle with, Roman style??? (Ngl that would be hot in a sick way)

Skaar and Shinobi? Both long haired, beautiful, sons of big figures, grew up in abusive environments,,,,its a duo. Just put Shinobi into a mini team with Skaar and Daken and we have the "Black haired brood squad"

Rick and Pyro working together to have a joint production??? FIrebomb productions baby!! My podcast ideas? Absolutely would happen when you combine these two and its hell. Aka; Rick and Pyro gossip on their podcast and give advice to starting heroes as immortals and smack talk. But also outside of that I imagine they can get along a lot in the "had a hard time accepting stuff" and "we were heroes who often did a lot for others and got disregarded and hurt for it".

Pyro: Hey if I set you on fire can you become a flaming bowling ball

Rick: well let's fine out!!

Red and Shaw....there's a lot there. Both are old men who have been pressed on in their lives and affected by masculine presences in their lives...both are regarded as awful shitbags but they're both MUCH more complex and driven by a need for power and stability...lots of thoughts here.

Shaw and Red are one team you do NOT wanna mess with because two old men who are perfectly willing to do what's needed? Red can respect a man willing to get his hands dirty with clear means and Shaw can probably like a guy who has the drive to do what he believes is the better good. Also big hulk man who can give you endless power.

But also differences in them because Shaw abused and continues to abuse Shinobi while Red neglected and most likely emotionally abused Betty but it seemingly trying to make a difference in it now that she's come back? I feel like these two probably have a SUPER in depth conversation when forced to or alone and then never speak about it again.

Spending of Betty! Her and Madelyne?? What a DUO they're litreally a great mix because Maddie is a clone of Jean, Betty was assumed to be a clone at first and often has to suffer being the "domintrix" she hulk. Both have serious issues with their mental health and identities as well as dealing with their lives being ruled or devoted to men who ruin them. Both want freedom and have such passion! I just....so much to say about these two and the similarities. They're both red.

But yeah Phoenix and Harpy?? Skksks Maddie voice: I'm FIRE HARPY nOW

Am I still yelling for her hero name to be Griffin because of how mystical they are and being a bird and lion??? Yeah.

Also sad thoughts but,,,gals talking about their lost kids (Maddie with Nate and Betty suffered a miscarriage induced from stress), the stress of their lovers and who they've lost to (Jean, Emma, Caiera, Jarella,,,) and being manipulated by men for their power (Maddie by Sinister into Goblyn queen and Betty by Leader into Red She-hulk, Harpy, both died).

Anyway point is I can fully see them two just CLICKING or fighting a lot at first until someone points out just how similar they are. Then? Maddie and Betty out here being the brand new Thelma and Louise. Red and Black styles, willing to use force but protect the innocent, both take Alice and this cute kid that Betty absolutely mother henned in her run and,,,two moms and their talented daughters pls step out the way sir.

Tbh I don't think I have much for Samuel apart form him having a small crush on Claudine (and like,,,,not in That Sense, but Samuel does have a big history of falling for smart women or just...OP women). And then a series of gags where Haven wants to know him because he's like Shaw but also incredibly different in thinking and everytime she walks into the room,,,,Samuel is doing some horrific experiment and she just NOPES OUT. Shaw wants to make use of this but it goes horribly wrong oh God why did he try.

Lyra! I just....feel like there could be a lot for her and Claudine and Alice. Lyra was genetically engineered to be used in a war and was bullied relentlessly for being "half man" which...is rather transphobic and sexist but that's her storyline and it's too deeply embedded for me to headcanon over it so...sighs.

But yeah!!! Lyra taking Alice and giving her a night of being able to just....be whoever that night, not being pressured to have an identity of the sorts from anyone and just being able to fight people with a giant green woman. Probably has a lot of deep talks later that night with Lyra, sitting over a building and eating ice cream because it was one of the first things Bruce shared with her and a first realisation that Lyra could be more than someone's daughter.

100% would picture this with Carmilla (Lyra's sister and...also messy kinda clone) or Laura Kinney hopping along and!! Clone weapon woman team!! I could GET INTO this!!! Just...pls marvel give me a team of women overcoming abuse and forming identities among each other and cool women,,,,

But also Lyra admittedly would respect Claudine for her skills and her...tenacity? Yeah, that. She has strength and guts and Lyra probably actually tells her that she'd rather get experimented on by Miss Sinister than some pig of a man and Claudine just "thhhanks?"

Hulk,,,,funny enough I don't think I have many ideas for him yet? Probably gets into a fair few fights with Shaw and Haven over different stuff, Maddie has a bome to pick for Betty,,,I am,,,blank.

I feel like a lot of things for him would be Haven trying to break through into him, maybe each of the Marauders dealing with different parts of the system? I can imagine Shinobi and Pyro don't have a high opinion of the oversized dad until Bruce turns super ashen pale and immediately Joe starts yelling for some whisky and GIRLS....and a fella or two for matchstick and ghost baby here.

Maddie thinking that he's another Scott and then finding out that Hulk's thing is more complicated than Scott simply looking for Jean again. Also Maddie demands that she will forcefully adopt Hulk's kids and these two bonding over abusive dads???

But uh,,,that's about it!! Hope you liked it!!! I probably could easily delve into more thoughts if there's anything specific for me to set my mind on.

BACKGROUND

Carmilla was born in Holloway briefly before the first murders, but doesn’t remember it at all. She’s heard the story of the Hollow Man countless times, her father having grown up in the town, but she was only a baby when it all went down.

Her father, Mickey Sawyer, is a journalist, and covered the case from start to finish.

Carmilla’s parents divorced when she was two, and her mother got sole custody, moving them to Los Angeles. After awhile, she remarried and had another daughter, Caroline.

Carmilla loves her sister, but due to the ten-year age gap between them, she isn’t particularly close to her. Not helped by the fact that Caroline is blatantly the favorite.

Carmilla has never felt like she was good enough for her mother. Isabelle, to her credit, genuinely wants her child to succeed, but this manifested in discouraging some of Carmilla’s more fanciful pursuits and urging her to study something “practical,” like law or medicine.

At heart, though, Carmilla is a writer. It’s all she’s ever really wanted to be.

Growing up, Carmilla only saw her father once or twice a year, but wrote to him frequently. The two exchanged letters that could get up to twelve pages long, at least twice a month, for years.

Carmilla was always a bright, happy child, who made friends easily and got on well with her teachers. She spent much of her childhood with her nose stuck in a book, or pouring over her typewriter, churning out poems and short stories.

As she got older, she felt drawn to the growing Pride movement in Los Angeles. It became the subject of many of her writings, and she made friends. As she learned more, Carmilla came to the realization that she was a trans woman at the age of sixteen.

She didn’t officially come out right away, spending some time coming to grips with it, before finally telling her parents and stepfather just after she finished high school.

Her mother, while never outright abusive, was plainly uncomfortable with the new development, and seemed to doubt Carmilla knew what she was talking about. Her stepfather never commented on it at all.

Her father, however, accepted her wholeheartedly and assured her that, if things with her mother ever got too tense or unbearable, she’d always be welcome in his home.

ARRIVAL IN HOLLOWAY

After a few months of uncomfortable conversations and even worse silences between herself and her family, Carmilla dropped a bombshell on her mother and stepfather: she was going to attend college in Holloway, and move in with her father.

Her mother attempted to talk her out of it, but once Carmilla’s mind was made up, there was no changing it. She moved back to Holloway and into the guest room at her father’s house, now converted into a bedroom for her, and started work on her BA in creative writing.

While she sometimes missed Los Angeles, Carmilla loved living in Halloway, and quickly settled in.

Making up for lost time, she and her father have become very close.

Carmilla is still an excellent student, and has even secured a position as a TA for an English prof at the college.

NOWADAYS

With the return of the Hollow Man, Carmilla is uneasy. She may love horror movies, but she never intended to live one.

And she is well aware she’s now living in a horror movie scenario, and as such, adheres to the Horror Move Commandments: no walking alone at night, no drinking, no alcohol, and no letting her guard down.

Her father is once again covering the story, and keeps her posted about his theories. She knows he worries about her (even if he won’t admit it), and does her best to assure him that he doesn’t need to.

Overall, though, she’s trying to carry on as normal. This is probably only a copycat, and copycats are usually sloppy. They’ll catch this freak soon, right?

Riiiiiight?

MISC.

Carmilla is a complete horror fangirl, and loves all things vampires. (And, yes... she did name herself after the classic vampire novella.) She’s especially fond of gothic horror, but she loves it all.

Her dream is to become a horror writer, and she’s been working on a doorstopper manuscript for a couple years now. She’s a bit shy about the idea of anyone else reading it, and is trying to perfect it before she shows it to anyone. She has, however, let her dad read the first few chapters.

She also has an interest in true crime, but she isn’t one of those true crime fans. She looks at serial killer fangirls like, “Please don’t associate yourself with me!”

She’s rather inexperienced with sex and romance. She thinks finding love would be nice, but it’s not a priority for her.

She totally believes in ghosts.

She’s stubborn and can be a little tactless.

Carmilla is generally optimistic and sees the good in everyone, but her hopes are constantly crushed. She still can’t quite get her head around how bad the world actually is.

I think I did a top 5 worst characters for both shows but I can do it again :P

11) Drolta. She doesn't do anything egregious, in fact she's kind of tolerable, but she stole Isaac's drip. And for that, I will forever be salty :) (also yeah I couldn't decide for #10 so I added one, whatcha gonna do about it)

10) Sumi and Taka. Ah yes, these two Japanese people who look identical are most assuredly not related, they are just Japanese! Aside from that, they are the emblem of S3's utter failure: they add nothing of importance except for a gratuituous (and OOC) rape scene that is supposed to send the message "humans suck, trusting is for fools"... that in on itself doesn't change a thing, because Alucard is fine afterwards. But hey, you got your bi rep! Aren't you happy with this show's representation? :)

9) Emmanuel. This guy is just stupid. Just because you lampshade how absurd it is to ally yourself with vampires because you think the Revolution is "godless", it doesn't make it any less absurd. We're still at this level of shallow, childish CHURCH BAD.

8) Sypha. You're not cute when you insult Trevor. Stop it. I remembered her being nicer than she actually was :( during the rewatch she was painful, constantly complaining, defending Alucard from Trevor rather than the other way around (but still ditching him when he needed company because yay adventures!!!), and acting bossily with her bf because that's the only kind of character they can write here. Also she's OP af and that's not fun.

7) Maria. Does she even have a personality beyond stereotypical Twitter communist teen? Good god girl shut up you are nothing more than useless backdrop!

6) Carmilla. In theory, she could be an interesting unapologetic female villain who reacted to her trauma with rage rather than sorrow, a female Dracula but even pettier. In practice, she is the parody of a radfem written by a man with zero respect for women, so you can imagine that she isn't exactly nuanced. I hate that Dracula and his boytoys were made to be absolute dumbasses for her to win, only for her to conclude effectively nothing. villain.exe

5) Alucard. You absolute cunt. Am I supposed to like, or worse being attracted to, this piece of shit who spends his time insulting Trevor and treating him like dog shit under his shoe? He has zero of the effortless charm of the real Alucard, but I'm supposed to root for him because he's hot when he cries all boobily. Fuck off with your disingenous fanservice. (also his design is atrocious and the artstyle doesn't flatter him at all)

4) Erzsébet. Literally an OC made by a 5 yo. Look at her! She's so cool and special! She's older than Dracula, stronger than Dracula, more evil than Dracula, more dangerous than Dracula, and she turns into an invincible Sun Thundercat! Yeah good job, but you forgot to give her a personality.

3) Annette. She is not a character. She is nothing more than accurately engineered discourse bait. I refuse to acknowledge this shallow attempt at "badass representation" that I am supposed to like on the sole basis of her race and gender. I am so tired of Stronk Women that are actually giant assholes, all flash and no substance.

2) Isaac. I will concede that he has the most coherent character arc of all characters, but aside from that, he pisses me off something fierce for how overrated he is. Forgettable design, pretentious as fuck, spouting faux-philosophical quotes to hide how petty he is, basically a jihadist in S3, wakes up one day in S4 and suddenly he's Muslim Jesus, disgustingly OP because the narrative finds every way to suck his shiny dick... and his amazing arc that everyone praises him for, the thing that makes him "better than that stupid gay joker from CoD"? It's just a worse version of Hector's from the mangas, which left him Hector here with no arc to speak of. Get him out of my sight.

1) Lenore. Her concept is great. She is an intriguing foil to both Carmilla and Hector, and incarnates an unique type of villainy: she is amoral, kind for her own selfish purposes, with understandable goals but willing to do anything to achieve them. I want to like her. Too bad she is a disgusting, repulsive, inconsistent, bratty rapist that I am supposed to feel sorry for because oh, she's not so bad after all :) she did everything for Hector's own good :) she's not actually evil :) she deserved to smooch the man she raped into slavery, don't you feel bad that she sunned herself like a selfish coward :) Lenore begs to be rewritten by someone who doesn't jerk off to abusive dommy mommies, but in her canon state, she makes me ill.

Now for the episodes :P

10) The Great Work (S4E7): I never watched it because it's boring as shit, which speaks of the terrible pacing of this show and especially S4. I know it has the infamous "vampires dislike crosses because their vision is fucked up" scene lmao

9) The River (S2E6): It's the episode where the zombie bishop resurrected by a dark necromancer who is now working for a vampire with plans of enslaving mankind is apparently favored by God to the point of being able to bless water. Do I need to say more? Well, it's also the episode where the heroes suddenly remember they are supposed to do shit and hack into Dracula's castle, and the episode that fully cements Dracula as an ineffectual pathetic antagonist easily manipulable by the real villain, no I don't care that he's kinda cool in For Love. (at least the scene with Carmilla avoiding the river and the castle is fun to watch)

8) Bless Your Dead Little Hearts (S3E1): The beginning of Alucard's and Trepha's plotlines, two utter mindnumbing wastes of time, and Hector's plotline, which is the show beating me over the head with a nail bat while screeching "LOOK HOW PATHETIC HECTOR IS! LOOK AT THIS PITIFUL WET CAT! LOOK AT HIM COWERING NAKED IN A CELL EATING MOLDY BREAD! FEEL SORRY FOR HIM!". Just unpleasant for all sorts of reasons.

7) It's Been A Strange Ride (S4E10): Trevor miraculously survives Death! Alucard is happy to live with his new bossy gf as if nothing ever happened! Lenore suns herself just for a final kick in the balls to Hector, whose character will forever be remembered as "useless simp"! And most importantly, Dracula and Lisa get to live again as if the dude didn't just try to exterminate mankind, and they will have endless kinky sex until she dies while Alucard will forever mourn his parents but no one gives a shit about that because we love to piss on the games! :D

6) Old Homes (S2E2): It has the double combo "Alucard being the biggest moistest cunt to Trevor while we're supposed to laugh at this hilarious banter" and "Carmilla girlbossily girlbosses all over Dracula who can't even punish this vampire who insults his wife in front of everyone, establishing herself as the cooler villain"! Joy!

5) The Good Dream (S3E6): "Walkies! :D"

4) Back In The World (S4E5): It's the one with the infamous "Oh, shush, you were having fun" :) and all the Lenore apologism that follows :)

3) You Don't Deserve My Blood (S4E6): I get it. Isaac is Jesus and I should drop to my knees to suck his entire dick. Good thing this is his last appearance. Other than that, this episode is the last nail in the coffin for what was left of Hector's character, who is revealed to have been working to resurrect Dracula (a complete spit in the face to everything he stood for in S2) and also chooses to stay with his rapist instead of seeking true freedom.

2/1) The Harvest (S3E9)/Abandon All Hope (S3E10): It's hard to separate the two, and I wouldn't know which one is worse. The Harvest is infamous for being half boring fight scenes, and half "hot" sex scenes that are actually rape by deception: the entire episode is simply uncomfortable to sit through, not helped by the shoddy editing. Abandon All Hope is the season finally dropping its final message: "the world sucks, and you will be betrayed". Everyone except babyboy Isaac is left traumatized and cynical because we are so fucking edgy, we are just like Berserk fr fr. And, of course, in retrospect, Alucard and Hector's endings piss me off even more as all of their pain was for fucking nothing :)

(Nocturne is completely forgettable and doesn't reach the peaks of NFCV so it deserves its own ranking)

My art blog is becoming a total mess with these types of posts, but I just can’t control myself! Alucard is such a beautiful child and should be celebrated and hugged like a cute little cat.

I have to say thanks to the creators of the show and everyone who worked on it. Season 1 was a good introduction, season 2 was awesome and impossible to forget. I never played the games, but I knew about the Castlevania series because of the beautiful art and music for the games. Still, you can easily tell the show runners are fans and gamers and that they care so much about the details.

The fight scenes are some of the most imaginatively choreographed sequences I’ve ever seen and are animated and directed masterfully. You can feel the weight of characters when they move, you fill the pull of the swings and the gravity, you can feel and hear when the whip snaps and winds up, you feel the pressure she’s putting on the surroundings when Sypha goes full Avatar, you can see and feel the difference in the way vampires move from the way humans do. Even if the battle defies the laws of physics, even if the characters are over-powered, you don’t care. Not because it’s a cartoon based on a video game, but because the fights are grounded with good animation and sound effects. It also helps when the creators add characters making remarks, showing raw emotion, stumbling, missing the mark or playing “dirty”. It adds to realism.

I hear people say animation is stiff and low budget. I can see where they’re coming from, and I do admit, some scenes are stiff, they do avoid complicated movements and finesse in the “quiet parts” of the show. But, for me, I can let them be “lazy”, because all of these scenes have great lightening, fabulous backgrounds, good sound, fantastic VA work, top-notch quality dialog, good directing. Please, don’t forget how hard and time consuming it is to animate anything. And the creators chose to have a style that imitates Ayami Kojima’s. Animating in a complicated and detailed style is even harder.

Another plus that season 2 has is that they included original music. When I heard the first notes of Bloody Tears I flipped. I hope we’ll get more original music in season 3.

I heard there were some big changes in the characters of Isaac, Hector and Carmilla. As someone who never played the games, I can only say: I liked their characters and their roles in the show. I liked how they were introduced, I enjoyed all three of them and I can’t wait to see how they’ll grow in season 3. (Isaac, I respect you so much, but you scare the hell out of me. Hector, you are so naive and stupid, yet I can’t help but love you and feel like you are such a hurt and lonely person. Carmilla, I get your anger and I like your strength and independence, but you’re a bitch and you need to be stopped.)

Speaking of characters and “quiet parts” I love the fact that the writers decided to make this type of show into a character driven story. I have no clue how any of the main three and Dracula were in the games, but watching the show they feel like real people to me with real virtues and flaws and problems. What makes them so impactful as characters is the constantly evolving dynamics they have with each other. And this dynamics is all shown in seemingly pointless banter and silent looks and touches. Because of these moments the deep and emotional conversations have weight. They don’t come out of the blue, they are not out of character.

My favorite part of the dialog/or lack of it is the way they present the conversation. They care so much about the way the words are said, what expression people make when they say something, what kind of light there is in a frame, what objects are there and how people interact with them while they speak.

All in all, Castlevania has a very simple plot, but it does wonders with it. We are rooting for the good guys, but we’re also rooting for the bad guys. It’s insane.

Another insane thing is that a short show about video game hunters and vampires managed to hurt me on a deep emotional level. I did not see the bloody tears coming, man.

Yes, yes, it’s all Alucard, but you’ve been warned. I’m a woman with needs and I have a type.

I have no idea how the final battle in the game went down, but I think this was one of the best boss fights and the most appropriate way to put Dracula to rest. Everything and everyone was perfect in that final battle - the way the dork trio teamed up using each other’s strengths and protecting each other, the way Dracula was OP as fuck (while starving) and was pissed at everyone because he was tired of life, the words the son an father exchanged, the My boy... Our son... line, the way Dracula begged his son to kill him, the fear, confusion and pain of Alucard, the way Dracula wanted to hug his son, the way Trevor understandably wanted to protect Alucard and sliced Dracula’s head off, the way Alucard moved out of the way for Sypha to incinerate his father, the way those three welcomed the morning together - PERFECTION.

Those three are just perfect, I adore how they show their friendship and respect/trust to one another... and I like how Sypha and Trevor are a thing now... BUT WHY, why did you leave him alone?

He was so not ok, from the beginning of the show, he was way past being ok.

He’s sassy and can laugh, but he is so lonely, detached, cold... angry - just like Sypha said.

He wanted to make a grave for himself (to die), and my best bro Trevor pulled him out of the depression a little by giving him a task and his ultimate love/trust. But, that’s not enough. He’s still alone in the house with all the painful memories and proofs of death he himself had inflicted.

He needs a hug, he can’t be left to cry alone, what are friends for? I hope the power couple comes back quickly. I don’t think Alucard has anyone else.

Guys, watch Castlevania. I recommend the English dub. There is just something special in the English dub that I can’t put my finger on.

More juicy flashbacks for all our children, new and old, and more of Alucard acting like a vampire. Like... does he feed, how old is he exactly etc? Seriously, though, I want to know more about the vampires and about the Belmonts. They already teased us with Leon! Ooohh boy!
