I would like to believe one piece is queer.
But I know it's not. Its a series created by a sexist-machist heterosexual man and it shows.
I am not going to forget so easily that he made trans women as men disguised with dresses who harassed men. He thought they were a joke.
and obviously, the eternal veil of hipersexualization and machism that surrounds the females characters.
TIRED of the same shit

Moonlight lovers is a disaster: part 3
Oh! is it a clown or is just Ivan?
Ivan, Ivan, Ivan... a disaster, a completely disaster. If one thing has taught me this route is to take things humorously. This is one of the worst routes together with Raphael's.
Tumblr media
Let's start with the positive points. chapter 1-3. That's it. Everything is good until chapter 4. Then it's stupid jealousy, toxic behaviour...(and when i say toxic i say real disgusting stuff that I don't think people like to experience as a player in a romantic game). Again, another route which could have been a hit, wasted.
They have let escape the chance of him and Eloise talking about the 2010's. When he was human there was a "boom" of musical hits: Lady Gaga's bad romance, rihanna, katy perry... I know he likes metal, but dude he could have been a bridge to create instant empathy with us. He is the character that could have been the most easy to talk to, and instead, he is the most difficult to seriously communicate with.
Ivan was kinda sweet vibes "he was a punk, she did ballet, what more can I say?". Vibe with me. The skater punk boy that OBVIOUSLY plays music and is good at rhythms. That's cool. Honestly, he was an interesting character to develop. We have a torment man who is obssesed with his human life and cannot accept his new condition. Also, he feels extremely guilty about his actions in the past and the present, and has problems to control his thrist.
Having said that, the first two chapters were focus on his inability to selfcontrol. Okay, fine by me. The third has a really cute dancing scene. Everything is okay except Ethan, who is predatory and d i s g u s t i n g (but i'll judge him in his own route to be fair).
But, here comes Constaaaance, how incredible it is that this company is forcing me to feel jealous about a 2d drawing. Nah, seriously I still had hope. I thought: "maybe he isn't in love with her but what she represents. The last link to his human life, his family, his friends, his dreams... everything. That 's why" I thought. So consequently, the game wants us to make him aware about what he truly feels to channel it from a perspective more filosophical. HA!
wHAT aN IDiot i was.
After, a lot of fights, jealousy, irrational and delusional behaviour. It turns out, Constance is super evil and killed him (incredible resolution). And suddenly, the love for her abandons ivan's body. Dude, it evaporates. And suddenly, Ivan understands that he actually wanted to fuck his childhood friend, the one he bullied, yeees. And the one who married his girlfriend.
At first I got angry but then i thought, this is actually super funny (except for the tortuous chapters about jealousy and shit). I mean... in the neutral ending this bag of shit breaks up with us to start dating the friend he never reminded in the past 10 years.
As a queer person I don't desire Ivan in my community. By the rights I don't possess I declare him heterosexual. I don't want this skinny runt inside my group, what a bad representation. Ivan you should learn of Aaron, my bi king.
What can I say? I remember the end and the memories and everything... It's so bad... so bad that I wanna forget. Still, iconic twist. At the end Ethan was right about him.

Moonlight lovers is a disaster Part 2
Next on the list is Beliath. Objectively, he is the best route. Of course, I am aware there is one route left, Farah and Leandra, but for now Bel is number one. Nevertheless, is his route really that good or are the others so bad that mediocrity makes it for gold?
Tumblr media
He is the best route because of the relationship with the protagonist, the way it develops, his story is different (evil mother) and is finished. That simple.
The start is really problematic though, he is hateful, unconsidered and I hate the part he tried to trick Eloise into going to her room when it was actually his. Thanks to Raphael, he saves us the displeasure of that really unconfortable situation, actually disgusting. The hide and seek game was really shameful, I mean, it would have been better if he didn't had leaped on her and you know *illustration*, that's the second chapter. He has very disgusting moments (related to sexism) due to the idea of a Don Juan character. But dude, no one likes sexism, you are doing a game whose public are mostly women, srsly?. Those comments aren't needed. I remember in another route he offers to give Eloise a baby because that's what all women want... I am going to break you skull against the wall beliath and guionist.
In chapter 3 they make a deal, we introduce the concept of "consent" to bite us, which is actually really good. From here, his route is quite refreshing, they have another kind of dynamic. They are attracted to each other and develop romantic strong feelings later on.
Beliath is a layered person. After the corpse accident (chapter4) he locks up in his room and denies to eat, he wants to die to free eloise of her condition of chalice. He is a womanizer, charming, arrogant, hedonist, party-going person and at the same time he incredibly cares a lot by the people closed to him, he is honest, sarcastic and wants to discover the humanity provided by his vampire side. That's very interesting. He is very interesting.
There is a moment he confesses he should change the way he flirts with women because his manners may be old-fashioned. I don't have a problem with that, it's funny IF THERE IS NO SEXIST COMMENTS.
Tumblr media
This character reminds me of a tarot card, the devil, which means a need for liberation, sexuality, the healing found in darkness, manipulation, temptation among other concepts which are related to him.
My last thoughts in this route. I didn't like the part where Eloise gets jealous and hysterical, that was quite pathetic and the speed they fall for each other was really fast. If you get rid of that and the machism, you obtain a extremely potential route. Besides, I like him being a drama queen and having a sense of aesthetic, that is really cool.

Moonlight lovers is a disaster Part 1
Let's start by saying this game had potential, a wasted potential.
There are a million reasons why this game has let me down, where to start huh?. Okay, let's take a peek into the routes and their problematic characters and then we'll talk about Eloise, villains and other details.
Tumblr media
The first one is Vladimir, oh god. Vladimir could have been one of the most powerful romantic choices. WHY? 'cause he is a fucking victorian gentleman, he is supossed to be sassy and master of the word and there is a little sparkle of it reflected on his personality.
Tumblr media
HE COULD HAVE BEEN THE FUCKING FITZWILLIAM DARCY, who is cute but a social disaster, sassy , arrogant, reserved, proud but also kind, generous, unselfish, poetic... You have here a chest full of gold and the incorrect key. As I already said, these traits can be found to some extent in Vladimir, but all came down because he is simply hateful and unbearable, he is bothered by the most fucking stupid things. I understand romantic conflict is a tool to develop affective bonds, but I don't think this company know how to do it. I remember in one episode he raised his hand to almost hit eloise, you can't do that hon, you can't romanticize violence. I hope that scene is changed. This game has a lot of shit to change.
There are ways to make a problematic/difficult character charming and others to make him a giant red flag. Obviously, Vladimir belongs in the last category. He is a grumpy bitch that is all the game disrespecting Eloise til his c*ck is full of butterflies and decide to treat her with attentiveness and love. Oh, but her mother is dead and he regreeijkdufufjufehslif.kj no shit, my father is a cocaine addict and i don't treat people like shit vladimir.
Finally, one of the most problematic things in this route is the attempt to romanticize suicide. Look, it's really good the inclusion of characters with disorders IF YOU KNOW HOW TO HANDLE MENTAL DISORDER and they crearly don't know how to do it. It's a delicate topic. The times of 2008 has passed, you can't romanticize abusive, toxic relationships or suicide. enough of that shit.
This route needs to be rewritten in some aspects, especially behaviour and neutral ending. Also, the story is finished and tie up his looses ends which is a thing the rest of the routes couldn't achieve.

The only thing I'm asking to beemoov it's to see Beliath in a high ponytail.

Neil, the sexy psychopath
I said he bores me, now, I think I kinda like him but at the same time I dislike him. What I dislike about him is his arrogance, superiority and lack of modesty.
But I've been trying to guess how is he going to develop along the chapters. My guess is that he feels terribly alone, he probably misses his own kind and we (aka eloise) are something similar as his kind. That's why he is so interested in us, he sees us not as equal, but close to his rank. Anyway, the guy evidently has trust issues (not gonna blame him) I think we have to help him out to heal this problem he would never admit to have. There was something that was off with him.
First, he tell us right away about what the parents of Eloise did to him, that's weird, because that's something so humilliating and he is sooooo proud. As I see it, he didn't want to be seen as weak or vulnerable so he appropiated the story in a way he coulnd't be hurt again. It's actually a deffense mechanism. He can talk about this trauma freely without shame. Consequently; looks like he isn't affected by this. But he is.
Futhermore, he is now hungry for power, he wants to be in charge. He needs that power because he has for so long felt powerless, he wants to establish this hierarchy where of course, he is the big fish.
I stil think he wants to fuck us for vengeance, no doubt (regarding if some romantic feelings are involved)
The thing about Neil, is that he has been a distant spectator, like he was listening to a movie. You can hear the characters, learn about them, but even so, he has no empathy for others, not even Vladimir. He doesn't care about them, at all. He sees them as inferior and here i go crazy because the way we can interact with him are weird but interesting.
Eloise can choose 3 options towards the thoughts of the sexy grandpa; being empathetic (sentimental, reasonable, good), being neutral (not really being emotional, not really being bad) and a psychopath slut (personally I like crazy bitches with an interesting past but hate crazy bitches who are bad because duh). Whick one is the correct? aparently the third, which is surprising to me. GOD.
Is that all? We go bad and we get the guy? so boring ? is the good ending killing everyone or taking the manor for us? From my point of view, that looks like a bad ending, like eloise was his conscience and decides which path we could lead him to walk. I want this guy breaking down, crying ...something. His feelings can't be so plain and simple. He has more depth, or at least the potential to have it. If we are breaking bad I want good reasons.
As I wrote, i think (hope) this character is going to change drastically, just not now, there is a piece that doesn't fit in the puzzle. This route has to be more complicated than agreeing and doing all he says.

I thought I'm done with the fanarts and all... And then, Neil came in. Okay, I have to say this - I absolutely love Neil's route. It's everything I'd want to see in a villain's-kind-of-route. It's everything I wanted Ashkore to be in Eldarya TO. And it's the best thing Beemoov has ever created. I love the dynamic between him and MC, and I love the mentorship relationship, I'm proud myself when he praises her. xD Do I feel there is a catch? Yep, definetely. Do I mind? Not in the slightest.

some thoughts
neil's route is turning me a bit off, like everytime he talks is like neonazi vibes xd. I understand the context human-vampire but still, his superiority isn't atractive, do something, you are quiet boring and you are supposed to be a psychopath, be charismatic
it's actually soon but i hope chapter 4 will be more romantic/interesting

About neil's route, i think he is going to be protector and kind at the beggining just to fuck her. Having rough sex with the daughter of the people who tortured you is a way of revenge. And he knows it
