So I read a post this morning talking about how it’s unfair how fandom artists that recently started writing Fics are getting more notes. That just because they make art that people like, people give them more of a chance.

Now I can’t art for s***. But I think I’m at least a decent writer. So all I can say to this is one thing.

This thought process incorrect.

If anything we should be encouraging more of this. People that normally look at art looking into fics. It will encourage more people to read fanfics. Maybe it goes hey “this artist drew something for a fic written by someone else, let me read that fic.”

And not only that, giving people flack for getting more notes because people like their other stuff is dumb.

The world isn’t just “oh there is only so much attention that can be paid to writing.” Maybe one’s writing catches on later.

To this day I still have people liking old fics I haven’t touched in years.

But more importantly, as fic writers we are writing just as much for ourselves as others. If we feel discouraged just because someone else is getting more attention, then there might be some other problems at work
