So you know how the Tower Tyrant treats Rolan like absolute shit? Has him mind the shop during the day and abuses him under the guise of "training him" after dark?
How the Enchanter of His Own Ego doesn't even look at him as he's giving the order to help enslave the Nightsong - until he's making sure his orders are understood?
And that true Larian blink and you'll miss it moment of anguish and loss of what he believed his destiny was on Rolan's face as he leaps to the side of right.
Until now, he's firmly believed his destiny was to become the greatest wizard in Faerûn, through Lorroakan's tutelage. That all just crashed to the ground around him.
A second ago, he was standing frozen, staring at Lorroakan almost blankly as the plan is unfolded in front of him, to his horror.
All the abuse he's endured that he had convinced himself was to some unseen greater purpose? Wanton cruelty. And he's staring at living proof of how far Lorroakan will go - sees him now for the grasping, power-hungry monster he is and immediately rises to the occasion.
Look at the anger... the disdain! He's looking at someone he once idolized, then feared and now despises. Someone with immense talent and capacity for great things - who has chosen to do this with them instead.
"You lied to get the Nightsong here. Made us all believe she was nothing but a relic. I've seen what true leadership can accomplish - but never under your tutelage."
That little look and nod to your Tav, who has saved him time and time again, and is here yet again, to set him back on the path of right. There is a whole novel in that look.
Turning his attention back to the Treacherous Thaumaturge, continuing to put himself firmly on the side of good.
And the Magician of Misdeeds tries to strike back at what he perceives as his greatest soft spot by threatening to take his dream from him entirely - ensuring no other wizards work with him or train him.
Rolan is unphased. "If they're all like you, I think that sounds like an excellent bargain." You can almost hear Gale deciding he likes this kid after all.
The Mystic Maligner doesn't like his authority questioned and doesn't like his plans disrupted.
We don't mind, we were itching to watch Dame Aylin break his back anyway.
Shall we? Dame Aylin agrees.
"Lorroakan... you who would see me caged - who would purchase my submission with profane gold..."
"Let every wicked magus, every vile murtherer, every slaver and every misery merchant see..."
"Dame Aylin is watching."
"...She is indomitable. And when her face lights the shadows of your wrongdoing, you are broken by it's beauty."
Anyway, sorry, I got sidetracked... but you know how he's just such a royal turd to Rolan every chance he gets?
Have Dame Aylin break his back in two and throw him on the floor like the garbage he is, then use Speak with the Dead on him.
Ask who is more powerful; him or Rolan.
The corpse pauses, perhaps resisting the truth.
"That... bloody... tiefling...!"

I love the magic teacher Gale headcanons (and was a personal believer in them if you look at some of my previous gale posts lol) but if you do the weave scene as a wizard (which is nice and framed as a collaboration), afterward you can ask him if he has experience teaching magic and he says that he's had a few students, but that they didn't last long because "their ineptitude irks him". He is lovely, but... those are not the makings of a teacher

Love that despite Oltyx's grumping about how every other necron around him sucks and he only likes maybe 2-3 other people, he's the one necron in canon who's had guardians and protectors from every walk of life. First his family (Djoseras, and once upon a time, Unnas), then the nobles of varying stations (e.g. Yenekh and Parreg), all the way to those of lowborn origin (Neth and Pakhet) who are dearly devoted to his well-being. Outsiders too, like Mentep and Zultanekh, not to mention every Flayed One by the end of his story!
It doesn't surprise me that the final mode of society he settles on as Valgûl is more egalitarian than literally any other necron dynasty out there. Despite the universe trying its best to crush Oltyx's ability to relate to other people out of him, Oltyx was more cared for than he let himself believe, and had more respect than he gave credit for. When it comes down to it, this was a boy who was very loved, and I'm glad he came to terms with it at the end 😭💖

Something I love about the implications of the new ‘elemental’ weapons in totk is the idea that link is powering these things himself.
Like, in the first game the weapons were always on - they powered up whether they were being held or sheathed or even dropped. Give a monster a smack, drop it on the ground and it’ll light back up in a few seconds. Generally, this meant that link didn’t have magic, unlike other games in the series. Even the champion’s abilities were just that - the champion’s! He just indicated when to light it up!
But in totk it’s very different. Now, he’s crafting and powering his own gear. The gems were long theorised to be the main ingredient creating magic items, like elemental arrows or enchanted jewellery and armour, and now we have proof!! He’s even learned how to do it himself! Combining gems, or even monster parts to his weapons and lighting them up whenever he wants! Turns them on and off at will! He’s learned to channel magic sometime between botw and totk, something not all heroes learn to do! In fics he’s long been one of the few to have no magic talent whatsoever, and now that’s changed! Wild can officially join the ranks of the magic users!
There’s also the issue of where he learned it and who taught him, but the answer is pretty obvious, and speaks volumes of how far Zelda has come on her own journey.

Hibari reborn/transmigrated or even vaguely involved in any world immediately causes the plot to be wrecked in fascinating ways.
Makes me wonder how he’d do in a world where people can’t fight like no game no life or something like that.
Imagine being Liu Qingge. You just heard that Shen Qingqiu the stuck up cheater and lazy pampered noble just collapsed from a severe qi deviation a week ago, no doubt because he's been indulging in too many visits to the brothels. again. So he woke up and everything looks fine. Whatever.
You roll your eyes and continue your day, doing research on the migration path of the Six Eyed Ranging Hippo because that's what you plan on hunting down next month...
and then a barely clothed Shen Qingqiu comes leaping at you with two swords held oddly with the words, "I'm going to bite you to death!"
And then you get one of the biggest beat downs in your life because all the bare ankles and thighs being flashed about is super distracting.
Somehow.
Wtf.
