I love Yolanda as a character, she’s is my favorite of the main four JSA members, but she has got to stop with the ultimatums.  (Just note I haven’t gotten a chance to watch most of ep 1 or all of ep 2 of season 3, just something I’ve thought about during a rewatch of season 1 and 2 and never posted)
She has a strong sense of justice, she sees things as black and white and it’s normally okay, but the fact that she gave Courtney several ultimatums in the first 2 seasons is a bad thing.  Ultimatums are bad things in general (yes there are always exceptions) and it could really degrade a friendship and a team if they’re constantly being thrown down.  Even if she tends to back off from the ultimatum and do the right thing, it’s a stress on relationships and herself that isn’t needed.  Not to mention it adds to her whole guilt spiral that is hurting her throughout the story.
The problem is, and what I why I want her to outgrow them, is that there are better ways that trying to always go for a my way or the highway state of mind.  I don’t think it’s completely Yolanda’s fault, in fact the reason I want her to outgrow using them is because it doesn’t sound like her when she drops one on Courtney, it sounds like her Mom.  The ridged refusal to see the other side of an argument, the idea of punishment instead of understanding, my word is law, etc.  It screams her mom (to a lesser extent her dad too probably), and it would be good for her to leave that part of her behind, because Yolanda is an amazing person and friend, she doesn’t have to act like her abuser.

for the best friends to lovers prompt- "did that kiss mean anything to you"
hope you are doing well!! i love your writing 🫶🏻
Soundless Spin
“You start.”
Doja Cat blasted through Cindy’s speakers, fancy chandeliers overhead shaking from the noise as Rick eyed the offensive Bud Light in front of him. It pained him that Blue Valley, Nebraska couldn’t shake the 20th century out of its roots–Somehow, even amidst 2020 billboard charts, Jackbox games, and Tiktok trends, the only activity collectively agreed upon tonight was spin the bottle.
“Do I have to?”
“Yes,” said Cindy, already bored at how long he was taking. Why was she facilitating this nonsense–she hates half of the school. That said, Rick also didn’t understand how they scored invites to her party. Or why the girls wanted to go. They might have not been at each other’s throats anymore with the ISA discontinued, but it wasn’t exactly like they were close friends. Since the JSA recovered the true Sylvester’s pickle brain, Rick stopped applying logic in his life when he didn’t need to. Crowded between drunk teens sat in a seance approved circle, everyone waited on Rick to start the game he had assumed was a joke.
“No, you don’t have to,” said Beth reassuringly from across the room, though Rick suspected the second it was her time she’ll nope out. She looked around the group of classmates, sober as a judge. “Please remember that kissing should always be consensual!”
Cindy rolled her eyes. “It's not that serious, Dr. Chapel Jr.” She shrugged in that nonchalant way before she stirred the pot. “Rick might land on Cameron, for all we know.”
Yolanda facepalmed. “We’re supposed to be encouraging Rick, not giving him the ick.”
Cameron shot Yolanda an icy look. She raised a brow in retaliation.  “I said what I said.”
Courtney, nestled beside him, placed an ineffective hand on his knee. To Rick, she chanted, “C’mon! Spin, spin, spin, spin!”
Everyone joined in.
“Spin! Spin! Spin!”
“Fine. Fine!” he shouted loud enough to be heard, blowing hot air out of his mouth. “I get it!” He raised both hands in the air to get some of Cindy’s cheerleading friends to stop hollering, their enthusiasm giving him minor concern. “I’m doing it. I’m doing it.”
The empty beer bottle spun tightly around their sitting circle–Rick anticipated disaster, regretting his cave to peer pressure the second his hand lifted away. Anyone but Mahkent. Anyone but Mahkent, he nearly prayed in mounting desperation. It whirled around Yolanda on his right, Becky Sharpe, Cindy and the cheerleaders, tipped past Jenny Williams, slowed by Courtney, and crawled past Cameron until it hesitantly landed on Beth.
Rick jerked his eyes up, meeting her gaze. His heart stopped for, like, a minute. He’d been so caught up in who would be the worst option, he hadn’t had enough time to think what would happen if the bottle landed on one of his friends.
What the hell should I do?
Courtney covered her mouth to hide her giggles. “Wow! Must be fate.”
“Girlie,” Yolanda whisper-mimed, shaking her head and zipping her lips. “Shut up.”
It didn’t matter–Rick easily ignored Courtney cajoling them six ways to Sunday because he couldn’t hear her. The music distorted around them as he tried to pick up on Beth’s cues.
He almost asked her, should I spin again?
Then her lips lifted into a small cheeky smile. Of course, Beth wouldn’t have let herself play if she minded getting a few kisses from this game considering she was the one reminding everyone about consent. And, he came to realize, this would be his first kiss sober. It scratched an itch in his brain to think it would be with Beth. They could laugh it off later.
“Well?” some dude huffed, impatient. “Are you kissing or not?”
Rick cleared his throat. “Beth, are you sure…?”
But she was already making her way towards him, answering his question.
Okay. Welp. We’re doing this.
Instead of shuffling into the middle of the circle like a circus act, Rick let her come to him. Once she was in arm’s reach, he reached forward, hauling Beth into his lap to move her away from a sticky beer spill. It was easier, more comfortable—Less of a spectacle, this way.
“Oof.” She laughed breathlessly as he rearranged their limbs. “Hi there. This is close.”
“Sorry,” he said, embarrassed, ready to shove her off him if she didn’t like it.
Beth touched his hand. “Don’t apologize.” She was right, this was so close. He could count every curly eyelash of hers behind those dark frames.  “Did you know this only had a 7% probability of happening?”
Rick inwardly rolled his eyes at her math brain guzzling out computations at a time like this. Why wasn’t she nervous? “I did not. It’ll just be a peck, okay?”
Her brown eyes brightened in the dim party room and she nodded. “Sure!”
Rick cupped her jaw, cautious to be gentle, then tipped her chin up so he could lean down and kiss her.
She was ready for it. She closed her eyes and looped her arms around his neck, meeting his quick peck with another kiss before he could end it. It caught him off guard when Beth let out a tiny sigh.
It felt good. Right. Rick couldn’t pull himself away.
She pushed herself up in his lap and then there was more. Rick’s thumb pressed against her cheek. He hadn’t had anything to drink since they first walked in, but his mind went warm and fuzzy, like that first sip of alcohol down his throat. Everything slowed around them. He didn’t know what they were doing or cared where they were, he just wanted the soft way Beth’s body pretzeled against his, her hand now moving, exploring down his neck to rest over his chest. It wasn’t rushed, or unsure, Beth was taking and he was giving or maybe it was the other way around. She let out another hum, and then there was another long lazy kiss, hypnotic enough for Rick to nearly believe that he had a soul she could’ve kissed out.
“Woah, okay! Ew? Too much.” Jenny W clapped her hands. “Time’s up! Spin again!”
He blinked out of the trance. “What?”
She gave him a shy smile. “That was nice.”  Beth slid herself out of his lap seemingly unaffected nor aware of how she had just turned his life upside down.
Nice? That was—Okay. Apparently the most intimate moment in his 18 years was just “nice.” Rick was fucked.
“Yeah,” he croaked out, scared that if he spoke further his voice would crack, the tension between them was still palpable. Say something. You have to say something.
He focused on forming a coherent sentence out of his mouth. They should leave. To do what? He had no idea (yes, he did–her lips, that touch, the perfume on her neck, he needed it memorized). He also needed to process what the hell just happened, and, not surprisingly, Beth was very good at analyzing weird shit that happens to them–but not usually to both of them at the same time.
“You heard me, right? It’s your turn now.” Jenny W thrust the bottle into Beth’s hand, not giving Rick the option to get a word in.
“Oh,” Beth said. “Sorry!”
He watched in stunned silence as she returned to her spot and wordlessly spun again. It landed on a guy from Ms. Woods’ calculus support group and jealousy took a hold of him with an iron fist.
He got up and left, announcing he needed a piss, though the terrible excuse was luckily drowned out by the latest remix. Unable to stomach Beth kissing someone else, the rest of the night blurred like watercolors on a canvas.
Nothing except the bleeding dark pinks of her lips dripped into every corner of his mind, the browns of her soft eyed stare, haunting his sleep. He suffered through the blue phantom-pain of Beth in his lap. The way she moved in it and how boldly he pulled her to him without second-guessing what he was doing.
What was he doing?
~.~
“Assuming the calculations from the goggles are correct, we would have six hours in the pocket dimension.” Beth wrote notes to follow her thinking on the Pit Stop whiteboard with a green marker, her goggles projecting a diagram. “That’s one hour in our dimension, meaning hypothetically your hourglass won’t time out.
“Got it,” Rick agreed without understanding, miserably distracted by the fact this was his first moment alone with Beth since Spin the Bottle. Thick tension returned with a vengeance. He could taste how bad he wanted her to like him. Every time she caught his eye Rick was certain he’d need a fire extinguisher to douse his hot heart within him. He sat on the table, his fingers tapping anxiously against the wood surface, really wanting to kiss her again.
She narrowed her eyes and cocked her head like she didn’t quite believe him. Rightly so. He didn’t believe him, and that posed a risk for the JSA tomorrow. “Any questions, then?”
“I don’t think so.”
Beth folded her arms. “Really?”
“Fine. Yeah. One.”
She looked relieved. “Let’s hear it.” She turned around and wrote QUESTIONS on the board and set out to underline it.
“Did that kiss mean anything to you?”
Beth’s impeccable marker line careened to a crooked left. Slowly, she turned around. “That has nothing to do with our pocket dimension trip.”
“You asked if I had any questions.”
“Yes, you did. Fair enough.” She sighed in a way Rick couldn’t tell was wistful or annoyed. “Our kiss, you mean?”
“Yes, our kiss.” Even calling it a kiss, as he had in his brain the last few days, was very modest. There was not just one kiss. There were several kisses. It was an experience.
“Of course it meant something to me,” she said primly. The marker cap pressed into her inner-palm. “That was my first kiss.”
“That’s it?”
She glanced away, fixating on the antiquated mugshots of Per Degatron’s goonies, finally starting to look as nervous as Rick felt. “What more do you want me to say? It was nice.”
He almost winced—There she went again. It was nice. For a girl with her vocabulary, that wasn’t promising.
“It was a nice kiss,” she continued in his stretched silence, “and I’m glad I had it with you. I didn’t think the bottle would ever land on me, or that I would want to play until they made you go first. I’m pretty sure I went into it wanting to watch.”
He furrowed his brows, trying to read between the lines. If she didn’t want to play unless he went first, then why did she continue with her turn afterwards? She must’ve used him to boost her confidence and practice kissing, not realizing he’d read into it so much. Now Rick felt stupid.
“You’re hurt,” she said. He was about to argue, but there really wasn’t any point. Not when his voice would probably crack as he denied it. He cursed the accuracy of the mood reader still embedded in her goggles. Sensing his lingering wariness at the object above her hair, she took the goggles off and laid them aside. An offering that she wouldn’t leverage her emotional advantages in this conversation. She used the stool to step up onto the table, taking a seat next to him. “Sorry. I didn’t mean to tell you how you feel.”
“It’s okay.”
“It doesn’t have to be okay. Wasn’t it just a game?”
His hand inched closer to hers until their fingers brushed. She leaned against his side. He felt a strange catch in his breath as the warmth of her closeness untied some of the knots in his stomach. Beth was beautiful and sweet, and always bursting with compassion. How could he pretend he wasn’t falling for that? “It was supposed to be.”
She looked up at him.
“But..it wasn’t.” He met her stare and swallowed hard. “It wasn’t for me.” He dragged a hand over his forehead in disbelief he managed to say it out loud. He summoned the strength to keep going. “It wasn’t a game. It wasn’t just nice, it was…I didn’t want it to end. I didn’t want it to stop. I felt like we clicked in that moment and I woke up from sleepwalking through feelings I have for you.”
Beth didn’t say anything, like his confession knocked the wind out of her. “You like me?”
He groaned softly. “It’s embarrassing, I know.”
“No! No, no it’s not,” she objected, squeezing the hand nearest to hers, but Rick didn’t think he could handle her breaking his heart so softly.
“Can you just tell me if I need to get over you?”
“I’m not doing that.” Beth sat up straight. “I called the kiss nice because I didn’t know how else to explain how I felt. I was inexperienced and surprised at myself. I won’t lie, the thought of kissing you excited me, but I thought that was because I trust you, so it would’ve been an easy way to get my first kiss out of the way.”
Rick started to smile, thinking back on what she said. “You calculated that 7% chance.”
“I did, and then that happened. I didn’t know if that’s how kissing always felt like or if it was because it was you. So I kept playing and I had a few more turns after you left, okay, but none of those kisses were like ours. But I knew you hated the game, left right after kissing me, and intended to only give me a peck,” she repeated the last fact with fake quotation marks. “I was the one that got carried away. I was the one that was embarrassed. It was easier if I pretended it didn’t happen so I wouldn’t make things weird.”
It was such a relief to hear her say that they were on the same page. “So what do we do now?”
“Well, first, we need to go over the pocket dimension because I know you were not paying attention, which I thought was because you were feeling uncomfortable but now I think it is because you were staring at my skirt.”
“Holy shit.” Rick scratched behind his neck as heat crawled up his face. This was perilous and exhilarating new ground. He liked Beth and she knew it. He was attracted to her and she could feel it. “Uh, I plead the fifth?”
Beth laughed and flashed him that same flirty grin from the party. “But as for right now?” Rick knew he was either in for trouble or a really, really good time. “I can think of a few ideas.”
She unearthed the green marker from her pocket and gave it a spin.

⭐️👧 (2020)
🐀🐀🐀🐀
-Spoilers-
Okay I kind of love this movie. But not on its own terms. I have the strong sense it wants me to buy into something pretentious and wondrous. But I’m just here for a strange, surreal drama.
I knew we were off to the freaking races in the first scene where our boy is gobsmacked by the apparition of a colorful Oz girl in his grey Kansas world. It’s pretty commendable for a director to convey lots of information in a short time, and this must be the speedrun record for establishing a Manic Pixie. The rest of the first act retained the feeling that ⭐️👧 is a creature under glass and it’s not really weird to stare at her or follow her around cause why wouldn’t you be in awe of her? There were so many amazingly uncomfortable scenes where we just zoom way in on her being all gentle and innocent and singing and hold for a really long time, and it feels like the camera wants to make out with her so bad.
The funny thing is, yeah, her charm works on me! If a woman like that was in any other movie, I would have a crush on her in an instant. But I think when all the other characters are enamored with her like she’s a character in a movie, it feels remarkably weird!
So all that was basically a blast in the bad movie way. Also, her song is horrifically catchy. Also, the initial story with Leo and his tie was really sweet and genuinely compelling!
Let’s talk about my favorite character in the movie. My favorite character is the short-haired girl who seems to be ⭐️👧’s first friend at the school, who we constantly see with her, who is never acknowledged or speaks. She looks like a lesbian and I love the idea of her being ⭐️👧’s bestie. Who are you, background girl?
The idea of ⭐️👧 single-handedly making the whole school care about life again and become winners is so funny. She is the rain that woke the mud frogs from their slumber!! Although speaking of, I think the boring, awkward townwide depression was portrayed really strongly, it had a striking touch of realism. I think the conceit of ⭐️👧’s performances relies on a kind of movie magic that makes us believe the music is intimate and exciting in a way it would not be all the way from the bleachers. We slip into a kind of music video mode – seemingly more so every time – and the overall effect is kind of amazingly surreal. I liked imagining it was a horror movie where a girl-shaped being is using psychedelic mind-altering magic to control a town. Initially it feels like a blessing as everyone is excited and happy about life, but it’s in an eerily fake wrong-feeling way, and it's only a matter of time before the other shoe drops…
When everyone turns on ⭐️👧 is when I knew this movie was special. So, do I really not understand football culture, or is it insane for people to hate her for comforting the injured opponent? I couldn’t believe it for an instant. But that just told me this story completely operates by its own rules, and the emotional drama within that strange world is awesome. Hillary’s assassination of ⭐️👧’s character was pretty unreasonable, I think she’s pretty clearly about as genuinely selfless as a person can be, but that scene was still so exciting. And then when she got normified and Leo was all for it, it was amazingly uncomfortable and like a horror movie in the complete opposite way from before! How could you, you mild and unassuming boy? Thank goodness she turned back at the competition thing. I like that her speech kind of wasn’t directly about anything in the movie? Or at least I didn’t see the connection? She wasn’t stating the main themes, it was like the character was just genuinely sharing some stuff on her mind that she thought was deep.
At this time I’m just going to throw something out there. If anyone, a cute and quirky girl perhaps, wants to request my favorite song of a live band and then peer pressure me into going onstage to sing it with them… I wouldn’t mind. Just saying.
I was so caught off guard when ⭐️👧 disappeared again at the end!! It really kind of makes her less of a starring character and more of a Jesus figure for this town. She moved on when her work was complete. Bye, I guess!
Oh yeah, and the mom stole all the scenes she was in, as moms frequently do. Her performance was so natural and charming. It just made me go ‘wow, yep there’s just a real actual mom in here!’
I had forgotten there was a sequel!! I can only dare to hope it will do for Manic Pixies what Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure did for evil rich girls. I can’t freaking wait.
Tune in next time for ⭐️👧… IN HOLLYWOOD!
(Will she, perhaps, echo the story of Grace VanderWaal’s iconic 2021 bop in learning that she shouldn’t assume what she doesn’t know when it comes to the alluring yet manipulative world of showbiz??)

I feel like this season of stargirl is the exact opposite problem I have with Cobra Kai as a whole.  With Cobra kai, I just don’t care about the kids anywhere close to the amount I care about the old guys from the movies.  The kids aren’t bad by any means, but there’s so many of them it’s hard to feel invested, when the adults are the characters from the movies I watched growing up.
But stargirl is different, by bringing in sylvester, I feel like so much of the screentime is devoted to the adults that the kids, who the show should be centered around get the shaft.  I’m not saying I don’t like the stuff with the older heroes and villains, in fact I actually love it, I’m just saying that their story shouldn’t come at the expense of the kid’s story.  In the first three episodes, I feel like we’ve had one fight, and it was sylvester vs Sportsmaster and Tigress.  It was one of the best fights of the show, but still, why can’t it be Courtney using the staff against a villain or something, it just feels like the heroes, that Stargirl are playing second fiddle in a show named after her.  Don’t get me wrong, I understand why, the writers need to establish Sylvester’s character, because there’s something clearly wrong with him and that’s building up to something.  but it can still be annoying.
There hasn’t been much interaction between the new JSA at all this season except for their episode meetup and then they go their separate ways.  Beth and Rick spend time together, which is adorable, but they barely get any interaction with Courtney or Yolanda.  Yolanda especially feels isolated from the rest of the cast, I think she’s had more conversations with Cindy than the rest of the JSA combine. I wish it was a plot point left over from last season and her drifting away from the rest of the team, but it just feels like they needed to give her something to do each episode to keep her on the show.  Which sucks because she’s probably my favorite character.
Overall, the show is still good, and the acting in it lets it punch way above it’s pay-grade, but I want the show that started with the kids to be focused on them.

She needs you, Alessia Russo
Tumblr media
Today was one of the biggest games, if not the biggest game of the season.
As an Arsenal player, playing Chelsea has to be the most fustrating game to play. More importantly as a defender, you have the task of keeping Sam Kerr quiet. Even with Leah by your side, it can be extremely difficult. Despite being your rival, you have the upmost respect for the Chelsea team and all of there players, they are a talented side but that means they bring out the best in you. But it's got to the point where everyone almost expects Arsenal to lose, like we don't even put up a fight against them.
You've played Chelsea many times over the 3 years you have been at Arsenal, your win ratio isn't exactly ideal. You can count on one hand how many times you've actually beat them.
However, Arsenal have made some big changes and improvements this season. With the new signings and players returning from injury, you were hopefull, really hopefull that you could win,
One of the new signings just happened to be your fiance. You and Alessia had known each other since you were about 13 through the England youth teams.
When you were 18, you had made the venture to move to America to go to University and play for North Carolina Tar Heels. Alessia had also made the move, meaning the two of you became a lot closer. Eventually that lead to a relationship when your were both 19.
In 2020, you signed for Arsenal and Alessia had signed for Manchester United. The distance was difficult for the both of you, it definatly challenged your strength as a couple. But it mad you cherish the time you did have together even more.
You had proposed to Alessia in the iddle of Wembley stadium when you had just won the Euros, you couldn'y have thought of a better time to do it. Thankfully, she said yes.
You were over the moon when your soon to be wife decided to join Arsenal. Obviously, you knew that the choice was difficult for Alessia and you knew how much she loved her United. But you couldn't be happier knowing that for both club and country, you get to play alongside the love of your life. You had the hope that Alessia was exactly what Arsenal needed to beat Chelsea.
Anyways, the Arsenal coach had just arrived at Emirates Stadium.
Before your warm up, you had chance to go onto the field to do the pitch check, to speak with some of the Chelsea players and have time with your own teammates.
After talking to Millie and Lauren, two of your fellow Lionesses, you and Alessia began walking around the pitch looking for your families in the quickly filling stadium.
"How you feeling, love?" You asked Alessia as she began tracing patterns on your hand whilst you were walking along, somethin she usually did when she was nervous.
"I'm good." She told you, her voice not at all convincing.
"C'mon Less, you know you don't have to lie to me."
"I'm just a bit nervous, that's all. It's a big game, there's so much pressure."
"Forget about the nerves, the pressures. I have no doubt that you'll be amazing because you always are. My stargirl."
By now, the two of you had stopped walking around. You had pulled Alessia into a hug, lightly kissing her temple, her head resting in your neck.
"I love you"
"I love you too"
Before long, you were stood in the tunnel waiting for both teams to walk out. You always were last in the line, it became an almost ritual for you now. You and Katie were messing around as usual, laughing at something one of the mascots had said.
Arsenal Starting 11:
GK - M. Zinsberger LB - K. McCabe CB - L. Williamson CB - Y/N. Y/LN RB - S. Catley CDM - L. Walti CM - K. Little (C) LW - C. Foord CF - V. Meidama RW - B. Mead ST - A. Russo
Chelsea Starting 11:
GK - Z. Musovic LB - A. Lawrence CB - M. Bright (C) CB - J. Carter RB - N. Charles CDM - S. Ingle CDM - E. Cuthbert CAM - F. Kirby LW - G. Reiten ST - S. Kerr RW - L. James
The game was fairly even at both ends. You and Leah had an amzing partnership at the back which the Chelsea frontline were currently struggling to get by.
At the other end of the pitch, our fowards were doing a really good job of testing Musovic in goal but nothing had managed to get past her.
Until…
45+2' Alessia Russo Goal (A: Y/N Y/LN)
You had sent a long ball from the halfway line, which managed to go ever the Chelsea back line and reach Alessia who kicked it into the back of the net.
She ran over too you and jumped, wrapping her arms around your neck and her legs around your waist.
In the second half, Chelsea brought a tougher energy. The players were acting way harsher towards the Arsenal players, way harsher than they were in the first half. Their tackles were higher, the shoulder barges were stronger and the shirt pulls were far more occurent.
However, even by the 80th minute, you still were in the lead. You and Leah had made no mistakes at the back, the Chelsea frontline couldn't even get a proper shot off without one of you making the crucial tackle or block.
Leading to this moment. Chelsea had a corner in the 83rd minute due to you blocking a Sam Kerr shot.
At Chelsea, you knew that they either aimed for Sam's head or Millie's. They would always aim for one of them two.
You were currently in the main mix of people in the box. You were glued to Millie's side, doing your upmost to mean that the ball didn't go in the back of the Arsenal net.
Guro's delivery was impeccable, the ball heading straight fo the mix of blue and red in the box.
You jumped up to try and deter the ball when you felt something a lot harder than the ball in the side of your head.
Everyone in the stadium watched as Sam Kerr's Boot connected with the side of your head, sending you limp on the floor.
The Arsenal players in shock when you didn't get back up like you usually did. Play was immediatly stopped when you were face down on the ground, not moving.
Your teamates headed in multiple different directions. Some members of both teams gathered round your unmoving state to give you privacy whilst waiting for the medics. Alessia and Katie headed stright for Sam's direction in an angrily manor, whereas Leah and Steph wher among some wsho where straight by your side.
Leah, slowly and carefully began to roll you over so you were on your back. Players faces screwed up in horror as your face was covered in blood, which was now all over your shirt.
"C'mon Y/N, I need you to wake up now." Leah said, whilst scanning your face to see if there was any sort of response.
Alessia's fustration towards Sam had took her attention, her mind thinking you would be up by now. In the midst of it all, she hadn't noticed how you were still on the ground.
Your eyes slowly flickered open, shocked at the amount of light you were faced with. The pain in the side of your head was unlike anything you had ever felt with.
"Less?" Your voice barely scraped a whisper as all you needed was your lover by your side.
"Give us a minute, love. She's on her way."
Leah darted her eyes to Alessia's direction, to see her still going at Sam, emphisizing her fustrations and anger.
Katie had now noticed your state, realising it was way more serious than anyone had anticipated. And was now trying to help Beth steer Alessia away from Sam. Alessia wasn't ever the type to get in shouting matches but everyone knew that you were each others weak spot.
"Less, stop! You've had your say, now leave it!" Beth's unexpectedly firm voice slightly startled Alessia. Meaning her and Katie could pull her away.
"Alessia, she needs you." Katie's words made her turn around to realise that you were still on the floor, blood dripping from your head, with Leah and the medics by your side.
Alessia made little time in rushing over to your side, guilt swarming her as she let her anger overwhelm her.
"Baby, i'm sorry. I'm here now." Alessia said, taking your hand in hers. Watching on as you drifted in and out of conciousness.
The medics were quick to get you on the stretcher and off the pitch to get you properly treated.
The players and stadium erupted in claps as you were took off the pitch and down into the tunnel, towards the medical room.
There was a significant amount of extra time in the match due to your injury, but the players concentration wasn't on the match anymore. It was on whether or not you were okay.
Alessia couldn't even think straight, let alone play a match. As soon as the final whistle went, Alessia disregarded all the usual expectations of post-match and ran down the tunnel to find where you were.
The confusion flooded Alessia as she approached the medical room. Your laugh could be heard from the outside of the room.
Alessia quickly swung the door open to be met with sight of you on the medical bed with pading and bandages covering the side of your head.
"Oh my, Babe your awake." Alessia said as she saw you, her body instantly relaxed a bit.
"Babe?" Your face crumpled up in confusion and so did Alessia's as your reaction to her wasn't what she expected.
She quickly directed her look to the staff on the room who were fast to reassure her that you were quite dosed up on medication.
"I have a wife, you know." You told her factually, crossing your arms over your chest.
"Ohh do you now?" Alessia had to hold in her laugh, but her eyes also softened at what you had just said.
"Yeah, she's so beautiful. The most beautifulest girl ever."
Alessia did now actually laugh at the word you had just created.
"Can you tell me what your name is? Just so I can go and get your wife, I'm sure she would want to know that your okay." Alessia tried to go along with your words, hoping you'd eventually realise that your fiance was stood in front of you.
"Y/N Russo." You told Alessia confidently.
Alessia eyes watered at your confession but she soon thought that the best thing was to just turn around and show you the back of her shirt.
"So you stole her shirt and now your trying to steal her wife."
"Right, love, listen. I am Alessia. Your my fiance, we're not married yet."
"Ohhhhh." You said, the realisation of your confusion finally hitting you.
Alessia came and sat on the bed next to you. You moved over so she could lay down meaning you could rest your head on her chest. Your hands wrapping tightly around her waist as hers lightly rubbed your back.
"I quite like the sound of Y/N Russo, though."

Okay this misconception keeps coming across my dash and it drives me nuts because it means people are lumping two very different versions of the DC universe under one disparaging banner. So let me just say this to get it off my chest because I'm this close to shaking somebody:
The New 52 ended seven years ago in 2016.
That started a section of DC's history called "Rebirth" in which they started bringing elements of the pre-Flashpoint continuity back into the timeline. The first changes came in a big burst called Convergence -- which is how Jon Kent effectively manifested fully formed at 10 years old -- while other reintroductions like Kon-El, Bart Allen, Cass Cain, etc. were more gradual.
The original plan, being forced through by King of Bad Decisions Dan Didio, was that after ~4-5 Rebirth would give way to another full reboot known as 5G. I could go into detail about the plans but they're honestly not important to this post because Didio was (thankfully, finally) ousted from his role as publisher early in 2020, along with something like 80% of the higher-level editorial staff. DC had a complete creative turn-over at the start of the pandemic and completely changed directions as a result. The material being developed for 5G was retooled into the hypothetical future event "Future State" to buy the new staff time to pull together their new direction.
That new direction is called INFINITE FRONTIER. It started in 2021 and THAT is the era of DC comics we're in now. Infinite Frontier is an active push to bring back the pre-Flashpoint characters, as well as some pre-Crisis ideas and characters, while also keeping the few elements of the New 52 that people actually liked (like Jason Todd's more heroic characterization) and actively pursuing diversity initiatives both in creative staff and in creations. And outside of the big events, they're making a real effort to keep these comics short and self contained in the hopes that that'll make them more accessible. So it's actually really easy, if you read comics pre-Flashpoint and dropped off, to just pick up a series and go with the flow. Anything confusing is just a Google away.
Please, please don't make the mistake of thinking modern comics are as bad as the New 52 just because some people are butthurt their ship isn't getting canonized. There have been some really good comics made in the last few years that you should totally try! Spirit World, Monkey Prince and the entire We Are Legends line has been genuinely fantastic. The new Birds of Prey is shaping up to be a ton of fun. Dark Knights of Steel is an entertaining Elseworld. Urban Legends and Brave & the Bold have done some really fun things with shorter anthology books. One Minute War was a really fun Flash family event and everything Stargirl's done recently is liable to make you cry.
I'm begging people to give these comics a chance. It's just really sad to see them being dismissed out of hand.
