You didn’t want to wake him up. In fact, the very last thing you wanted to do was wake him up.

Link works so hard for you. After years and years and years of being together, he still works hard for you. Even since you both fell in love as young graduates from the knight academy. Some days, he’s off making a comfortable living for the two of you. Playing knight in shining armor as he goes off to fight all kinds of monsters and baddies left behind and scattered around the world. And he fights well. He carries his sword and his bravery too every time he sets off to fight. And now, Skyloft has always been much safer since he started taking to the skies.

And some days, he joins you. Back the soft ground surrounded by even softer clouds. He tells you how much he misses fighting alongside you. You tell him that not everyone can be the Hero of the Skies, and you convince him to help you tend to the farm as you assist the neighbor’s shop next door. And without complaint, he’ll roll up his sleeves and he’ll work and work and work and work. For the two of you to make your house a home. For the two of you to make the neighborhood, a family. For the two of you to live out a few moments without worry. Just peace.

And yesterday was one of those days. One of those days when he returns from his duties as a hero late into the night. Only rise with you early in the morning, ready for another day of hard work. You tried to convince him to rest. To take the day off and let you handle things. But he only told you that he would rest when you would. That he would stop only if it meant that this break he was receiving was to be enjoyed with you. So the day passed and went. Night came and gone. And it’s early morning now.

But all you can do is watch the ceiling as you turn and you turn and you turn.

You don’t want to wake him up. The last thing you wanted was to wake him up. But you’re not used to sleeping in. You’re not used to letting the sun’s soft beams stream across your cheeks and ignoring its calls for work. You’re not. But for his sake? You try to be. And so you flip on your side, and you press your face into his chest and let the quiet sound of tiny snores lull you back to sleep. But it doesn’t work. So you huff, and you find yourself turning onto your other side, letting the warmth of his sleeping body seep into your back through the thin material of one of his old tunics. But it doesn’t work. In fact, every position and every little movement, and every little tactic you try to just get yourself to fall back asleep doesn’t work. It just doesn’t.

It takes a little over an hour of no success to decide that you’ve had enough. By this point, the sun has crawled just a little higher into the sky. And its beamed has started to shine down on you a little bit warmer than before. It calls you. So without further protest, you slowly slide the quilt off of you and swing your legs to the floor. It’s cool to the touch, and it wakes you up even more. But it’s refreshing, and it’s nice- it’s all that you needed to start your day. Well… almost.

With all the subtly of a mouse scurrying between the darkest corners of a house, you tiptoe to the other side of the bed. You’re met with a peaceful image. The sound-asleep figure of your fiancé. Lips parted, dark blonde hair spread messily across his pillow, and bright blue eyes shut tightly as he enjoys his time in dreamland. He looks exhausted. But behind all the tiredness, you still see the face of a man who is too kind for this world. Too strong for any enemy. Too perfect for him to be truly yours. But he is. He’s all yours just like you’re all his. And so you find yourself leaning down and cupping his cheek with the gentlest of grips. You want to litter his face with tiny pecks. You wake him up with the biggest, brightest smile you could ever give him. But he deserves his rest. So you settle on just a tiny kiss on the cheek with a whispered “I’ll see you soon.” And you get up to leave. Rising up and turning away like a ghost. Never to be seen until you-

A hand grabs your wrist.

It’s your only warning. Your split second of warning that makes your stomach drop and your heart race until you’re being pulled with all the force in the world back in the direction that you came. And it happens so fast. So quick you can hardly comprehend or see or even feel what’s happening until it’s over. And even then, you have no time to feel ashamed of your lack of reflexes after all those years you spent training. No, because by then, you’re already right where he wants you to be.

Sitting on top of him as nothing but a flimsy piece of underwear separates you from the hard, long, and stiff figure now trapped beneath your bottom.

“Umm…” Your voice starts off quiet as you look at him. Unsure, even. Beneath you, Link still wears a dazed and sleepy look in his eyes. Evidence that he just woke up. But the smile on his face is one of contentment. Triumph. Pride, even. You don’t know how he managed to wake up the moment you turned away from him. You don’t even know how he managed to throw off the sheets and pull you on top of him in the same amount of time either. Yet here you are- looking down at him as he lies beneath you. You blushed.

"I told you not to lift a finger.", the deer demon grinned handsomely and kissed the inside of your wrist.

Then he helped you change into something comfortable before getting you under the covers. In seconds you felt yourself start to get sleepier.

"Take a nap darling. You've been up and down all day.", Alastor whispers before kissing your forehead.

As he turns to leave, you take hold of his hand. Looking back, he can see you're fighting sleep just to keep him there.

"Stay? I want to be next to you.", you ask.

"Of course love.", he says, taking off his coat and shoes before going under the covers to join you.

You sigh in content once you wrap your arms around each other, nuzzling your head against his chest as you get comfortable. He hums and rubs your back, kissing the top of your head as you do so.

Feeling a familiar claw finger lift your head up by your chin, you feel a soft kiss. You kiss back, but it's small repeated ones.

"Sleep well."

Is the last thing you hear before you let sleep take you.

*slow, slow blink* I'm tired and want cuddles. But I don't have my body pillow, so this is the best I'm going to get.

Spooky Stories from the Daycare: Night of the Fox!: (tag)

Halloween tale full of scares and fluff! Creepy crawlies and candy! Our story is set in Japan in the 80’s! Sun and Moon had decided to have a little adventure out to a cabin for Halloween but they get lost in the woods. Y/N, a kitsune who resides in this forest, is displeased at having trespassers wonder into there territory and will do everything in their power to scare away the two animatronics.

Hellfire to Warm the Heart:

There I was, standing in the rain, my ears still ringing from the door slamming behind me. Everything had gone downhill so fast. First, my job fired me without warning or reason then, unable to find a new job, I was evicted from my apartment due to being unable to pay rent. With my suitcase at my feet, I stared blankety down the street. What was I going to do? I had nowhere to go. My family had cut ties with me years ago, and I didn't have a friend to speak of. Was there a shelter I should go to, or would I be sleeping on the street tonight? "Oh, dear! Are you okay?" I flinched, not expecting anyone to speak to me. Looking around, I saw an expensive black car parked at the curb, and a back window rolled down. As I watched, the back door opened, and a man, preceded by a large black umbrella, exited the car. As he straightened, I took a step back, gazing up at a towering individual standing before me. Dressed in a pale blue suit, this guy had to be almost 7 feet tall, towering over me. His hair was shimmery gold, making him look like a sun. Golden eyes glittered as, with a soft smile, the man asked, "You look to be in a bit of a bind. Would you like some help?"

Stars in the Darkness:

You find yourself living in a cabin in the middle of the woods. After cleaning up the mess from the previous occupant, you find a broken statue that seems to have been living in the forest, covered in moss and lichen. Deciding that it would be wise to put the statue back where it belongs, you fix it up and lug it out through the trees to place it back in its home. This pleases something living in the darkness of the trees, and little gifts start appearing on the porch of the cabin. The creatures in the dark seem to like you. You should be careful not to do anything that would anger them now that you have their attention.

Little Assistant:

MC is the assistant to the CEO of Fazbear Entertainment. As Vanessa kidnaps and kills children while attempting to bring Springtrap back to life, MC is forced to clean up the mess and cover up the disappearances. MC is also tasked with keeping an eye on the Daycare attendants, keeping them in line as they are forced to help kidnapping children. “Did you do it? How do we know if it worked?” “We’ll have to test out some command code on him. Everything uploaded without issue, but they do have minds of their own. He may put up a fight.” I wasn’t paying attention to the conversation, wanting as little to do with this as I could get away with. They had already forced me to help with so much, cleaning up all that mess, all that red, covering up the disappearance. Shuddering, I looked through the glass into the daycare beyond. Deep in the dark, I could see two red eyes glaring out at us, furious. I couldn’t blame him. The virus they had activated in the night mode daycare attendant was going to be used for something horrific.

Being a vampire hiding among humans can be difficult at times, mainly dealing with sunlight and avoiding mirrors, but I manage. I’ve been living and working in this little town as the town blacksmith for about 7 years now, and I’ve become a full-fledged member of the little community here. I thought I had been doing a good job hiding my presence among the humans, but one day two of the most well-known vampire hunters came into town. If they find out what I am, they will kill me, but both of them have become intent on becoming my friends and maybe more. How can I keep myself from being discovered when two hunters are trying to romance me?

a small child forced to live on the streets is abducted by Eclipse and raised to be sold off as a pawn. the first year of MC's life they live with Eclipse's charges, Sun and Moon and are tutored mercilessly until they are finally sent off to boarding school. after finishing school, MC is married off to an abusive husband but is eventually saved by Sun and Moon.

Colorful Lights (LateNight DayDreams):

You used to be an acrobat, working at a carnival that was a home to you. After a fire and a nasty fall, your home was left to rot. Coming back years later you’re captured by the people who’ve taken over the place. Saved by some old friends, you learn some unsettling truths about them.
