A Fine Print Of Four Prominent Cloud Platforms
Tumblr media
Synopsis:
Not only cost-cutting, but cloud computing services have become an essential business element to survive changing market dynamics, improve product or service delivery, and grow beyond convention success. In this blog, we emphasize selecting the right cloud platform instead of investing massively in building IT infrastructure, data warehouses, and security apparatus. Nonetheless, we will study each cloud solution provider with a comparative analysis.
What is a cloud platform?
A cloud platform can be referred to in a number of ways. Still, usually, a data center that houses IT infrastructure consisting of operating systems, software applications, and hardware products on a server is known as a cloud platform. Cloud companies such as Microsoft, Amazon, Google, Snowflake, Salesforce, and others have built cloud services for various business processes.
Going further in this blog, we will evaluate the four prominent cloud platform providers here, namely Salesforce, Azure from Microsoft, AWS from Amazon, and Snowflake. We will also evaluate them collectively through a comparative study.
Azure by Microsoft:
Azure is one of the most definitive cloud platforms developed by Microsoft. The cloud services offered by Azura are far-ranging for businesses of all types. Azure brings an exhaustive list of cloud services for businesses such as MaaS, IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS to perform almost all tasks on the cloud without the need for in-house infrastructure. Azure has a fanbase and a loyal customer base. From MSMEs to global enterprises, all types of businesses prefer Azure Cloud services, given its all-inclusive cloud services, encompassing data storage, data processing, cloud computing, data analytics, and networking, among many other services.
Prominent Features:
AI and ML: Azure comes with empowering AI and ML tools to help businesses develop AI-based applications, perform AI-based automation, and craft accurate data analytics.
Scalability: Businesses are able to increase or decrease the utilization of resources per their needs to ensure that they don’t overshoot the cost and maximize resource utilization.
Security: Microsoft is known to provide a secure IT environment, and Azure is no different. From encryption to compliance and from identity to data access, Azure offers robust security.
Hybrid Capability: Azura makes it possible for businesses to collaborate between cloud infrastructure and in-house IT infrastructure effortlessly and seamlessly.
Global Reach: Azure possesses a wide network of data centers across the globe, enabling businesses to access data, applications, and hardware with low latency from anywhere.
Why Azure?
Flexible: Azure is a highly flexible cloud service platform. Businesses can scale up and scale down the number of services as per their needs to calibrate their cost-benefit ratio.
Versatile: There isn’t anything that Azure can’t offer. Its versatility empowers all kinds of businesses with almost all types of cloud computing services and AI integration.
Integration: Azure supports many open-source technologies to help businesses seamlessly integrate their existing products and features, such as Windows and SQL servers, with Azure.
Cost-effective: Azure doesn’t make big holes in pockets due to scalability and flexibility and helps businesses optimize resources and control costs.
Monitoring: Azure’s single-pane operations capability flawlessly monitors and manages the IT environment against cyber threats for hybrid infrastructure.
AWS by Amazon:
When we talk about cloud computing, we must mention AWS by Amazon. Since 2006, AWS has been a top-notch on-demand cloud services provider. AWS cloud services include data analytics, machine learning, database management, computing capabilities, and data storage and processing. Migrating to the AWS cloud platform has helped many businesses grow their businesses exponentially without making much capital investment in building IT infrastructure. In fact, businesses have successfully expanded their businesses in one or two countries globally. AWS is known for its security measures that protect applications, data, and hardware — all together with its robust anti-hacking cybersecurity apparatus.
Prominent Features:
Ecosystem: AWS consistently updates its cloud technology with new services and launches new ones regularly. It has created an ecosystem that enables businesses to innovate and improve constantly.
Performance: AWS ensures redundancy for businesses to avail services on-demand. Moreover, with service level agreements with third parties, AWS ensures the availability of services for peak performance.
Global Scope: AWS has its data centers spread across the globe. Businesses can avail of cloud services, including compliance certificates and data storage, anywhere in the world to expand their businesses.
Security: Compliance certificates, data encryption, identity and data access management, and user management are some of the key security features that make AWS a secure cloud platform.
Cost-efficiency: AWS ensures that businesses pay only as much as they use. PAYG pricing helps businesses reduce their operational costs after already reducing their infrastructural costs.
Why AWS?
Uptime: AWS is a robust cloud platform with data redundancy, overlapping data center availability, and exclusive and secure infrastructure for excellent uptime.
Scalability: There is no prerequisite to commit to the use of services. Businesses can increase or decrease AWS resources as per their needs.
Compliance: AWS ensures businesses have global compliance certificates. Being able to follow regulations effortlessly makes AWS a trustworthy cloud platform.
Ease of Use: User-friendly interface makes AWS one of the most preferred cloud platforms. Businesses can easily integrate AWS using its APIs for smooth management.
Innovation: With a wide range of cloud services, AWS ensures that businesses can utilize its ecosystem and innovate products and services to stay ahead of the competition.
Snowflake:
Being able to host the application and data on the cloud server is not sufficient for
businesses. Nowadays, businesses require robust big data analytics to change the game. Snowflake has revolutionized the way businesses collect, process, analyze, and make decisions. Snowflake is a data platform hosted in the cloud with highly accurate and sustainable data processing features. It provides a SaaS solution that provides a simple yet scalable cloud platform that is flexible and guarantees high performance. Snowflake cloud services have redefined how businesses make critical business decisions to expand, grow, and achieve milestones.
Prominent Features:
Elasticity: Being able to process large amounts of data is key to data analytics. Snowflake allows businesses the flexibility to scale up or scale down data processing and cloud computing to meet their needs.
Concurrent Processes: Snowflake ensures that businesses are able to run multiple data processes simultaneously without any latency or malfunction and with accuracy and process automation.

Zero-Copy Cloning: Snowflake ensures that there is no duplication of data and instead clones databases efficiently for simultaneous development processes and project testing. It saves resources and, thereby, costs.
Data Sharing: Data sharing is vital for businesses to collaborate and coordinate across various departments and client organizations. Snowflake has in-built and unique data-sharing capabilities.
Why Snowflake?
Scalability: Businesses can simply disregard the need for more storage as Snowflake ensures cent percent scalability to enable businesses to accommodate any amount of data.
Reduced Costs: Given the capability of running multiple processes simultaneously, businesses can optimize resource utilization to ensure the cost does not escalate.
Ease of Use: Migrating to Snowflake is easy because of its data processing simplification and intuitive interface. Snowflake reduces complexity and helps businesses adopt it easily.
Performance: Speed and accuracy are key to Snowflake. Regardless of the data volume, Snowflake ensures high performance for sustainable data analysis processes.
Support: Snowflake support is commendable. Notwithstanding the data type variables, Snowflake delivers pinpoint analytics and insights, handling diverse data sets.
Salesforce:
One of the oldest but most accomplished and highly resourceful cloud platforms is Salesforce. Salesforce was initially designed to automate and improve sales processes. As it grew, it became a full-fledged CRM that manages customer relations efficiently, enhances marketing practices, drives sales, and maintains growth momentum. Flexibility and scalability for business adaptability are given; Salesforce comes with robust automation to take over many marketing processes and customer engagement. Salesforce cloud services deliver inassumable insights into customers for businesses to build a loyal customer base. Salesforce has become synonymous with sales and ROI growth.
Prominent Features:
Sales Cloud: Salesforce collects and stores customer data centrally and optimizes lead nurturing and tracking to improve performance and increase sales, along with improved pipeline management.
Service Cloud: enhanced customer experiences drive sales, and Salesforce enables businesses to provide superior customer experiences with incredible customer service solutions.
Marketing Automation: Effective marketing changes the sales scenario dramatically. Therefore, Salesforce provides exceptional marketing automation tools for email marketing, lead nurturing, and personalization.
Customization: Mold your Salesforce cloud platform the way you want. Businesses can easily customize Salesforce to meet their distinctive needs regarding marketing, customer service, and more.
Apps Exchange: Salesforce integrates a large number of third-party apps with its cloud-based services to ensure businesses can leverage diverse functionalities for their requirements.
Why Salesforce?
Rich Customer Relations: Customer loyalty is vital for business growth. Salesforce empowers businesses to build strong bonds with customers and consistent engagement.
Automation: Salesforce is marketing heaven, as it automates many marketing processes to increase productivity, ensuring that businesses focus on sales and customer experiences.
Insights: Salesforce has a strong base in data-driven analytics. It ensures businesses have critical insights at their fingertips and forecasts on their table for informed choices.
Ecosystem: Not just a cloud platform, but Salesforce is a marketplace with many applications integrated for businesses to operate without glitches.
Community: Salesforce delivers consistent growth with its active user community. It enables businesses to tap new business opportunities, global collaborations, and resources.
Concurrence:
Each of the clouds that we evaluated above has a strong foundation in technology. Be it Snowflake or Salesforce, Azure or AWS. However, businesses can’t adapt to all four simultaneously. Therefore, to determine the right one for your business, a comparative study is essential.
In the next part of the blog, we will undertake a comparative study of all four cloud platforms to help you realize the right one for you. Stay tuned for the next part of the blog with vital guidelines to select the right cloud platform.

Data-driven Marketing: Unleashing the Potential of Big Data
Data-driven marketing has become an essential strategy for businesses in today's digital landscape. With the vast amount of information available, companies are harnessing the power of big data to gain insights, make informed decisions, and drive targeted marketing campaigns. This approach is transforming the way businesses connect with their customers and unlocking a world of possibilities. Let's delve into the realm of data-driven marketing and explore its potential.
Big data provides businesses with a treasure trove of information about their target audience. By analyzing customer behavior, preferences, and demographics, companies can create highly personalized and targeted marketing campaigns. Through advanced analytics tools, businesses can identify patterns, trends, and correlations in the data, enabling them to tailor their marketing strategies to specific segments of their customer base. This level of personalization enhances the customer experience and boosts engagement, leading to higher conversion rates and customer loyalty.
Moreover, data-driven marketing allows businesses to optimize their marketing spend by targeting the right audience with the right message at the right time. By understanding customer preferences and purchasing behaviors, companies can allocate their resources more effectively, ensuring maximum return on investment. Instead of relying on guesswork or generic marketing campaigns, businesses can make data-backed decisions and deliver relevant content to their customers, increasing the chances of conversion and sales.
Another significant advantage of data-driven marketing is the ability to track and measure the success of marketing initiatives in real-time. With data analytics tools, businesses can monitor key performance indicators, such as click-through rates, conversion rates, and customer lifetime value, allowing them to make timely adjustments and optimizations. This iterative approach to marketing ensures continuous improvement and maximizes marketing effectiveness.
Data-driven marketing also empowers businesses to stay ahead of the competition. By leveraging big data, companies can gain valuable insights into market trends, consumer preferences, and competitor activities. These insights enable businesses to identify untapped opportunities, adapt to changing market dynamics, and develop innovative marketing strategies that give them a competitive edge. In conclusion, data-driven marketing has unleashed the potential of big data, transforming the way businesses connect with their customers. By utilizing the power of data analytics, companies can create personalized and targeted marketing campaigns, optimize their marketing spend, track performance in real-time, and gain a competitive advantage. As technology continues to evolve and generate more data, businesses that embrace data-driven marketing will thrive in the digital era. know more: https://insigniaconsultancy.com/cloud-migration.html

Could you suggest some ways to describe unusual eye colors, like the kind that wouldn't exist in nature.
Different Ways to Describe Unusual Eye Colors
-> feel free to edit and adjust pronouns as you see fit.
Silver/White:
Her eyes reminded him of the full moon, bright and constantly watching.
He had eyes like smoke and they followed her as she walked through the alley.
Their eyes were silver lightning: quick and observant.
She was certain that his eyes reflected the stars in the night sky, twinkling and mirroring his white smile.
He had eyes like snowflakes and they sparkled like freshly fallen snow.
Purple/Pink:
He had never seen eyes as beautiful as hers, and she wore a purple gown to compliment them.
Her eyes were young and vibrant, lavender in color.
They had noticed that his eyes were an unusual light pink color, but they were more aware that he had been glancing at their lips as they spoke.
Their eyes were the same shade of purple as the bruise that decorated the side of their face.
His eyes made her think of the sky at dawn, clouds of pink and orange stretching across the lavender sky.
The growing blush that spread across her cheeks were the same color as her eyes.
Red:
Her eyes were a fiery red, and they seemed to glow with the rage that welled in her throat.
His eyes were the color of blood, and they watched with a certain hunger that made her anxious.
Their eyes, a deep wine-red color, stared at him from across the table, utterly intoxicating.
His eyes reminded her of the old burgundy barn that sat in the backyard of her childhood home.
Her eyes were like roses, which told him that she may be pretty to look at, but she was not safe to touch. Sharp thorns waited for him beneath her skin were he not careful.
Yellow/Orange:
Their eyes were the first thing he noticed. They had oval slits-- like a cat's-- and were golden.
Her eyes were honey-glazed.
She thought his eyes held a hundred shades of gold.
Their eyes were like lemons, he decided. Just as sour as their personality.
He had eyes that could outshine the sun, and they couldn't help but to stare.
When he finally met [name] for the first time, he couldn't help but laugh. Now he knew why their friends called them "pumpkin."

They'll Hear Us
Captain Price x F Reader (18+) 🔥🔥🔥 Word Count: 2.5k
Summary: On the eve of your first mission with Taskforce 141 your nerves have you wired. You beg Price to help you find some release but he worries the others will hear you through the walls of the dingy safe-house. Will you be able to stay quiet?
Tumblr media
The air was thicker in Virginia than it was in London and it stuck heavily in Price’s lungs. The fire dwindling in the corner of the safehouse bedroom didn’t help his breathing much either but without it, Price worried you wouldn’t be able to sleep. It was cold inside the old creaking house and the dark clouds just outside the windows looked ready to release a snowfall at any minute.
He really should have asked Laswell for a hotel in the capitol instead of this dingy place. Someplace nice with working heaters, room service, and a spa he could have taken you to relax in. It would have meant a longer trek to the hangar in the morning, but at least you and the rest of the boys would have had a decent night's sleep.
Price stepped away from the window and threw another log into the fire before turning to look across the room. You looked peaceful tucked into the small bed in the corner. You’d fallen asleep almost immediately after getting to the safehouse. The plane ride over had taken a heavier toll on you than he’d expected. Military cargo planes were loud. He’d nearly forgotten about his first ride in one all those years ago. But the look on your face when the engines had roared to life, had reminded Price just how uncomfortable the ride could be.
He’d sat next to you on the flight and the entire ride your leg had bounced up and down, brushing back and forth against his own. Much like your tendency to speak at breakneck speeds, he knew this was a nervous habit of yours. He’d seen you do it on occasion when you felt too overwhelmed to speak your discomfort. He had wanted to reach out and hold your hand, touch your thigh, or simply lean into your ear and whisper that everything would be alright but he couldn’t. Not when the rest of the 141 could see. And if he had touched you it would have only served as fuel for distraction and he needed to keep the team focused. So as much as it had pained him he had kept his hands to himself.
Price watched as you shifted in your sleep and the blankets pulled down to reveal the curve of your neck. He felt a sudden urge to trace his fingers along that curve, to lean down and press his lips over your soft skin. But he again restrained himself from touching you and instead, he shook his head. This wasn’t the time. You needed to sleep. Tomorrow was too important.
With a heavy sigh, Price turned away from the bed and headed towards the balcony. He needed some fresh air to clear his head.
As he stepped out into the cold night, Price pulled his sweater around himself. Snow had started to fall lightly, the tiny flakes danced in the air as they drifted down to the ground. He leaned against the cold metal railing and took a deep breath, the icy air stung his lungs. He closed his eyes and listened to the quiet, the only sound came from the occasional gust of wind that rustled the trees. It was peaceful. It was relaxing.
But then the silence was interrupted. The balcony door creaked open and Price heard the sound of soft footsteps. He turned and opened his eyes. You stood in the doorway, wearing sweatpants and a thick woolen sweater. A blanket was wrapped tightly around your shoulders. But it was the way the soft orange glow of the fireplace behind you and the snowflakes caught in your hair that made his heart skip a beat. You looked heavenly. Like a vision plucked straight from his sweetest dreams.
“I had a nightmare,” you whispered, your voice barely audible over the sound of the falling snow. “Just needed some air.”
Price nodded and opened his arms.
“Come here,” he said.
You stepped into his embrace and he held you tightly, rubbing your back. The snowflakes melted into your hair and your blanket, but you didn’t seem to care.
“Do you want to talk about it?” he asked softly, still holding you close. You shook your head and buried your face into his chest. He looked down at you, taking in the sight of your face, soft and sweet illuminated by the pale moonlight.
“I love you,” he murmured into the crown of your head. The words came easy.
You looked up at him.
“I love you too.”
Price pulled you closer, his hand cupping the back of your head as he leaned down to capture you in a tender kiss. Your lips were soft and supple against his. A warmth in his chest spread and grew like the fire roaring inside. A quiet whimper passed from your lips as he deepened the kiss, his tongue sliding along your lower lip before delving into your mouth.
For a moment, the two of you were lost, the world around you fading into oblivion. His hands slid down your back, pulling you tighter against his chest. The cold air no longer mattered, the snowflakes melting against his skin forgotten in the quiet moment.
Finally, Price pulled away, his forehead resting gently against yours as he caught his breath.
“It’s too cold out here,” he said.
“Mm’not cold,” you mumbled.
“You will be. Come on, love.”
Price took your hand and led you back into the safe house. He sat down on the edge of the bed and pulled you down beside him. The fire in the corner was still burning, casting a warm glow across the room. You snuggled into his side and for a while, the two of you just sat there, wrapped up in each other's arms, enjoying the quiet of the night. The fire crackled and popped in the background, sending sparks flying up the chimney.
But as the fire started to dwindle, your hands started to wander. You reached out placing a palm along his thigh and slowly your soft hand slid higher and higher. But just as you were about to run your fingers over Price’s clothed cock he quickly reached forward and grabbed your wrist.
“We can’t.”
You looked at him. Eyes wide, wanton, pleading. Begging without saying a word.
“They’ll hear.”
With a long sigh, you took your hand back from Price and it through your hair with exasperation.
“I feel like I’m going to explode, Price. I’ll be quiet. Please.”
Price knew that your nerves were getting to you. The impending what-ifs of tomorrow's mission had worked you up and coiled you tight like a knot. He knew the feeling well. That buzz, the visions of what could go wrong, the fear that you'd forgotten some minute but critically important detail. It was an awful feeling. Uncomfortable and intolerable. It had caused him nightmares too.
Over the years he had tried many different ways to quell the feeling. Alcohol. Tobacco. Endless books on every subject imaginable. But he’d never done this. He’d never reached for another person. It wasn’t like he normally had a warm body in his bed the night before a mission. And while he knew that he could coax you out of your uneasiness he couldn’t help you like this. Not when the others could hear. It wasn’t a good idea.
But then you spoke… and your words broke his resolve.
“I’ll be quiet, baby. I promise you. I’ll be good. I’ll be so good for you.”
Fucking hell.
You’d never called him that before. Baby. It flipped a switch in Price. He could feel the blood in his veins quicken. And without a second thought his hands reached for you, touching you everywhere he could, ripping every piece of clothing from your body that got in his way.
Price pulled his own sweater over his head and you reached for his belt. Your anxious fingers fumbled against the leather and you huffed out an exasperated breath of air. The metal buckle slipped from your hands.
“It’s okay, love. Lay back. I’ll take care of you.”
You did as he asked, quickly crawling into the center of the bed. Your chest was rising and falling rapidly as Price undid his buckle and kicked off his pants and underwear. You squirmed, impatient and more eager than he’d ever seen you before. Your hands fisted in the sheets, clutching them so tightly your knuckles were turning white.
Usually, Price would take his time with you and worship every inch of skin you offered to him with sweet kisses, licks, and bites. But he knew that wasn’t what you needed. That would be tortuous and cruel of him. Right now you needed relief and he would do anything to give it to you. Especially when you looked at him like you were now.
He crawled over you and you eagerly spread your legs apart. Price leaned in, resting his lips against the shell of your ear as you wrapped your arms and legs around him. Even in this cold room, Price thought every inch of your skin felt hot like you were on fire.
“Can you take me like this?” he whispered.
“Yes. Yes. Please, baby please.”
Fuck there you went again calling him that sweet name. Who was he to deny you?
Price slowly pushed into you. Giving you his cock inch by inch. He could tell it was agonizing for you, going this slow. He knew you needed all of him but he’d never jumped straight to fucking you like this. He’d always worked you open with his mouth or his fingers, stretching you in preparation for what was to come.
And fuckkkk... you were so fucking tight without it.
Your soaking wet cunt was just as desperate as your mouth had been begging and pleading for him. You were gripping him so possessively Price felt like you were pulling him further inside you. It was intoxicating. He wasn’t sure he’d last long but he was going to try as hard as he could.
He picked up his pace. Plunging deep inside of you over and over again. The sounds of skin against skin and your pitifully hushed moans filled the room.
“Is that what you needed, love? Needed my cock like this?” he whispered softly into your ear, biting down on your lobe when you didn’t answer him right away.
You pulled your head from Price’s shoulder and just as he thought you were going to finally answer him, a pathetically loud moan passed from your pretty pink lips. Price panicked. He stopped his movements and quickly slapped his hand over your mouth before pushing you back into the pillow.
“Shhhh. Not so loud, love. You promised you’d be good.” Tears pricked in your eyes. “Can you do that? Can you be good for me?”
You nodded underneath Price’s large calloused hand. He started to move again, setting another fast pace. Your body was shaking as you clung to him. Your hands frantically digging into his back and neck. Price snapped his hips harder and he felt the skin on his back break open. He knew he’d have painful marks tomorrow but he didn’t care. You needed this. You deserved this.
Then suddenly your wet warm tongue darted out and licked against his hand. Price’s hips faltered. His cock twitched. Fuck. That had nearly been enough to make him come. But he couldn’t come. No. Not yet. You had to be first. He wanted you spent before he was going to spill inside you. Shit. You felt so good. He needed to get you there now.
Price wrapped his hands around both of your shoulders and pulled you down onto his cock impaling you over and over and over again as hard as he could. He closed his eyes tight, trying to will himself not to come inside you.
He could feel your pulse throbbing rapidly as he slammed into you. He angled his hips upward to reach that spot inside you that normally made you whine and mewl and cry out his name.
“Come on, sweetheart. Be a good girl.” Price whispered, panting hard as sweat dripped from his brow. “Come for me.”
You spasmed. He knew this was it.
“Price, I…”
He pulled away from your shoulder so he could watch your face, but when you parted your lips he worried you were going to scream. So he quickly covered your mouth again. Your eyes rolled back and you bit down on his hand.
The pain. The pleasure.
Price was suddenly overwhelmed with the realization that he couldn't breathe. He couldn’t think. He couldn't focus on anything but the way you were clenching and contracting, greedily trying to milk his cock as you came around him.
Fuck it was hard not to come. His cock twitched again, desperate for release, but he fought to stay in control. He wasn’t done. It wasn’t time. You were still coming and he wanted you to ride out your high for one simple reason. Price was selfish. His favorite part of sex with you was indulging in every single aspect of your undoing. And he wasn’t going to deny himself his favorite sin. He loved the feeling of every quiver and every muscle spasm you made as you came apart. He loved the way your hands tightly circled around his body. He loved the way your eyes widened and your chin tilted toward the ceiling. He loved knowing that no one else in the world could make you feel the way he did.
He loved it all too much to be distracted by his own release. And so he restrained himself.
Price watched as you slowly came down from your orgasm. Your once desperate clutch against him slowly released, your fingers uncurled from his back and neck. The tension in your body wayned into sweet and blissful relaxation. Only once you stilled completely did Price let his hand slip away from your mouth before sinking his head into your shoulder. Then with a low groan, he pushed in as hard as he could and held himself deeply within you.
His orgasm was powerful. More powerful than he’d expected. He bit down on your shoulder to keep himself quiet. Or as quiet as he could be. Fuckkkkkk you felt so good. And you tasted even better. Salty from sweat and slightly smokey from the fire.
“Price…” you whispered, your voice hoarse and slightly dry.
He lifted his head to see you. Your back was arched and your eyes were squinted shut. Sweat matted down your hair and the muscles in your neck and arms twitched as you silently struggled to keep still.
“Was I good?”
Were you good? Price couldn’t help but laugh.
“Good?” Price leaned down to kiss you, his lips gently meeting yours. “You were perfect. You always are, love.”
You smiled and Price’s heart felt full.
It wasn’t much longer until you both fell asleep wrapped in each other’s arms. If only he had known what was coming he would have stayed with you in bed forever. But eventually, the morning came and so did the mission.

26. the beast
The odd business of funerals and burial held a sort of desensitized protocol, in which tears were expected and scheduled into the procession but uncommon really. It is Azriel’s first funeral, and he had no idea how well or how bad it had gone. When he claimed his mother’s body at the hospital (alone and unaccompanied, is prudent to add) no one bat an eye, and Azriel had to ask a muggle how these things usually went. The man pitied him for all of three minutes, before snapping into brisk Englishman efficiency as he proceeded to list all the things that would be expected of a burial. A grave to bury her in, obviously; a nice ceremony at a local church that had little to do with the late woman’s devoutness or relation with her faith (or a funeral home, the man added after several moments of hesitation, as if he were confessing to the positives of rock music); and someone to say a word or two over her grave, preferably a man of the cloth.
Azriel had little clue on how to accomplish any of that, or where to begin for the matter. He did however manage to trace back her life and find her hometown where she grew up and when he spoke with the pastor he remembered her, and was more than happy to do the ceremony and gather the townsfolk for the service in her memory. She was remembered, and coming face to face with the reality of this fact took Azriel by surprise. His mother was, as far as he was aware, the loneliest woman on earth and remembered by few. But to see a considerable amount of people show up in the cold and snow to pay their respects stole his breath away, left his heart staggering and his mind dizzy and grief a heavy weight on his chest as a new thought brushed his mind to join the pile of the unvoiced words he wishes he could have told her: you weren’t alone.
Rhys’s parents show up, and Mrs. Blackwood hugs him for a second longer than what he expects and somehow his heart lingers, or wants to, but his mind could condone no such businesses.
“Azriel, sweetheart,” she squeezes his arms, her eyes worried and warm and reminding him too vividly of his mother. “We’re here, we won’t leave your side. It’s going to be okay.”
“I know,” his voice is hoarse, the stripped quality of it floating before him in a cloud of deflating fog. “Thank you.”
Her eyes seem to pinch, as she purses her lips with worry, and he wishes he can relieve her of the responsibility to claim a friendship that was in passing and limited to school. He wishes he can reassure her they were merely school-mates, and were friendly at best and that his mother was a woman so caught up in her head it was enough to blind some corners of her sight. He tries to extend this gift, this grace, of reassuring her she did not have to see him as anything more than her son’s friend but the words catch in his throat, and he’s already lost one mother and he is not in a hurry to lose another.
“Stay the night with us,” Rhys’s father invites but it sounds more like an order with his flat baritone voice. “Rhysand’s room is all made up.”
“I—” Azriel’s voice catches in his throat.
Mrs. Blackwood rubs his arm, her eyes earnest and pleading. “What do you say? We’d love to have you. Diana would be over the moon—she actually wanted to come but we insisted she stay in bed. Down with a nasty cold, you see.”
“Oh, is she all-right?” the sentiment softens his voice, makes it easier for it to come out.
“She will be. I suspect she’s making most of the attention while she can,” her lips fleetingly curve up in an attempt at an encouraging smile. “I don’t suppose you’ll be returning to Hogwarts tonight, will you?”
“No,” Azriel confesses. He has his mother’s tiny flat to pack up. He’d meant to do it tonight, after the service but the self-resilience was waning, little by little, with every passing second and every drifting snowflake. He wants nothing more than to bury his face in a scarf, curl in the corner of a couch and forget anything that’s happened the past week.
“It’s settled then. I simply won’t allow you to stay in Diagon Alley, all alone.”
“I don’t want to impose,” he softly pleas. His aforementioned wants did not, in any sense, include putting on his best behavior around the parents of his school-friend. Even if they were well-acquainted and he’d spent some time at their place before. But then was different; back then Azriel would be back home in time for dinner, and he still had a mother, and his friends were there. Back then, Azriel was not an orphan.
“Nonsense,” Minister Blackwood decrees, fixing him with a sharp hawk-like stare that seemed to look into his insides. With the Blackwoods’ renown daemati ability, Azriel does not find it unlikely. “Tomorrow you’ll finish your affairs and return to Hogwarts promptly.”
Mrs. Blackwood looks so eager, pouring the depths of her blue eyes into his with no reprieve that he caves, averts his eyes and nods. She beams, and curls her arm into the crook of his elbow and thanks him for letting them look after him, even if it was for a night.
That night after dinner, Minister Blackwood summons him to his study and Azriel finds himself closing the lid on this crucible of a week, and settling in as the ceramic grows warm. Whatever returns to Hogwarts the following evening, returns alone, and whatever Azriel thought he would be when he grows up is melted into this new skin, this new body’s reinvented purpose.

Day 3 Melkor ⋆⛧⋆ Mairon
Tumblr media
Synopsis: Mairon sees snow for the first time. Melkor thinks he's cute.
Warnings: /
Author's Note: Today's ficlets are pretty much just fluff and dork lords fooling around. Hope you enjoy!♡
Tumblr media
"Eeek!"
Melkor smiled as he watched Mairon nearly jump out of his fuzzy boots when a snowflake landed on his nose, melting as soon as it made contact with the heat of his fána.
"Melkor!"
Mairon wiped his nose and shot him an accusatory glare.
"What is this... strange, cold, white, fluffy, ticklish... material?"
"It is called snow, little flame." Melkor raised an eyebrow. "Has there not been any on Almaren?"
"No."
Mairon's pupils darted back and forth as more and more snow slowly started to fall around them, eyes narrowed suspiciously.
"Though I suppose if it is another form of ice, Yavanna and Vána wouldn't suffer any of it coming near their precious olvar."
"Very good, precious," Melkor chuckled. "It is indeed like ice, a different kind of it if you will, that is formed usually within clouds."
"Aha! So this is your doing?"
"Who else's would it be?"
Mairon placed his hand on his hips, trying his best not to blink whenever another snowflake drifted close to his face. "Does it have any meaning aside from messing with your brother's clouds?"
His question caused Melkor to throw his head back and laugh.
"No, it doesn't. You see, he and Ulmo were making so many of them, and it was beginning to bother me, so I tried freezing them–sometimes it would end up hailing, sometimes it would end up snowing. They were very upset at first, yet it seems Ulmo has somehow taken a liking to snow in the meantime."
He shook his head. "But it matters not; if he ever complains to me, I shall simply freeze him in a lovely iceberg and send him back to Manwë as decoration."
Mairon let out a small giggle as well, one hand covering his mouth; the prospect of the Lord of Waters being trapped in ice seemed to amuse him more than he would like to admit.
The poor thing has been taught to hide his true emotions for the sake of not upsetting others, but I shall free him of his old bonds sooner or later.
More snow had begun to fall. Melkor admired how those tiny white flakes got caught in Mairon's curls, then held out his hand.
"Perhaps we should go inside now, lest you get all soaked from melted snow."
Mairon took his hand and followed his lead without any protest–like the other fire spirits in the Vala's service, he very much didn't like getting wet. Melkor brought him to his room, wrapped the warmest, fluffiest blanket he could find around him and placed him on his bed like a pretty little doll, nuzzling his slightly damp hair.
"Stay with me for tonight," he mumbled, "so I can keep you warm."
"Very well." Mairon planted a small kiss on his cheek and leaned against him. "I shall entertain your request."
Melkor chuckled softly, then drew him into his embrace and returned the kiss. "How kind of you."

Let the Poison Spill
Chapter One - Offering
(finally settled on a title so I'm reposting the first part with tags)
Summary: A strange nun makes you an offer
x female reader, occult secret society, 18+, NSFW, (eventual) smut Papa Emeritus III, Cardinal Copia, Mary Goore, Sister Imperator, Nameless Ghouls
Chapter One - Offering
It was cold the first time you met with Sister imperator. The January chill fused with the fibers of your wool coat, seeping into your bones as a few stray snowflakes melted under the heat of the room. A low fog clouded the corners of the coffee shop’s window, blurring the dreary day outside while the baristas chattered. Steam hissed somewhere behind you, milk giving a loud cry as it turned to foam, but you faced forward.
Sat across the table, beyond the little wall your very different orders had formed on the table, was the very stoic nun.
Rubbing your hands together to generate warmth, you kept your commentary on the weather to yourself. From the looks of her, you doubted Sister Imperator dabbled much in small talk. You did your best to remain neutral, but nothing about the nun seemed to radiate kindness. The stern, older woman wore a tight but blank expression, made that much more severe by the fancy twist she’d pulled her greying hair into. She was stunning in a timeless sort of way, like the star of an old film who was often saved from monsters. She carried herself with such a mysterious grace that she exuded power, even doing something as simple as sitting. You wondered how many men had fallen at her feet in worship of her.
All that poise didn’t stop her actions from grating on your nerves. She’d been mindlessly stirring her tea while she spoke, a bit longer than necessary. The sound of the spoon on the ceramic teacup, that scrape, scrape, scrape it made at every rotation was beginning to hurt your teeth and it made it hard to follow what she’d been saying.
“Naturally, we don’t often invite people from outside. And should you accept, you will have to work on that problem you have with authority.” She sounded completely disinterested in what she was saying, but she had finally let that spoon rest against the saucer with a dull clink.
“Oh? Is that the only catch?” you asked, amused by the proposal. You still weren’t quite sure what she was offering, but rules and authority had never been your biggest fans. What could she possibly have to offer other than scripture and dowdy robes?
You wondered what the pair of you looked like to the handful of other customers. You and this aging nun. She sought you out of course, not the other way around, though you weren’t sure why or how. Maybe you’d looked like you’d needed saving. But her initial proposition had piqued your interest after she assured you that she had nothing to do with the guy upstairs.
“Other than living in service to the Olde One.” Her voice was deceptively smooth, but there was a dangerous edge to it. A sharpness that led you to believe she chose her words carefully and could easily cut you down if she wanted.
But you, oh how you loved playing with fire. Leaning forward in your chair with an eyebrow raised in amusement, you rested your elbows on your knees and cracked a smile. “So, you’re like actual devil worshipers?”
“Don’t be so crass,” she shot back harshly. It felt like a slap on the wrist. “We are simply an order who is devoted to the pursuit of knowledge. We just so happen to believe greater knowledge is achieved through sin.”
“So, you’re like hedonists—”
“Stop. Interrupting,” she commanded through gritted teeth, knuckles going white as she gripped the teaspoon. “You would be at a disadvantage, not having grown up in the ministry and clearly you lack any sort of discipline. But I am told you have the sort of unusual talents we’ve been looking for.”
You tilted your head, staring back at this strange woman who knew more about you than she let on. One by one, the pieces fell into place in your head. Satanic nuns, sin as knowledge, and all things unusual? You felt so stupid for not seeing it earlier.
“Wait, I thought you guys were a fucking myth,” it left your lips before you could think to stop it.
A wicked smile graced the older woman’s beautiful face. “So, you have heard of us?”
The Order of Asmodeus was the kind of thing people passed around like an urban legend. Stories of a Satanic church that operated in the shadows, alleged to quietly influence whatever evil thing people wanted to blame on them. It was supposedly older than the catholic church and immeasurably wealthier, with far less heavy-handed politics and much more interesting views on sin. But what intrigued you most was the rumored library said to rival the one hidden under the Vatican. But no one really thought any of it was true. Everyone loved a secret society boogeyman, bonus points if you could claim they worshiped the devil and practiced arcane rituals. Or sacrificed virgins. But there was no shred of evidence that it had ever actually existed.
“Sister Imperator are you fucking with me?” you asked flatly, crossing your arms over your chest. The free coffee you’d gotten out of this was hardly worth your time.
“I haven’t told a joke since 1969,” she replied stone-faced.
“That’s the first thing you’ve said that I believe.”
“Believe whatever you want,” she said with a passive wave of her hand. “I’m only offering you the opportunity to know more.”
“In exchange for what exactly?”
“Imagine all those stories you’ve heard about us are true, and then some. The ancient texts, the rituals, the power. There is nothing that is off limits to us. We do tend to frown on necromancy mostly because it’s just messy. But you could have access to the greatest collection known or unknown to man and all you’d have to do, in exchange, is follow our rules. You must sin freely. I’ll give you 24 hours to decide, after that you’ll never know what could have been.”
“You’re serious.”
“I’ve made my offer,” she said, rising from her seat. She placed a small black card next to your coffee and gave you a serious look. “What you do with it is up to you. 24 hours, child.”
Before you could ask anything else, the nun was gone.

Future-Ready Enterprises: The Crucial Role of Large Vision Models (LVMs)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
What are Large Vision Models (LVMs)
Over the last few decades, the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has experienced rapid growth, resulting in significant changes to various aspects of human society and business operations. AI has proven to be useful in task automation and process optimization, as well as in promoting creativity and innovation. However, as data complexity and diversity continue to increase, there is a growing need for more advanced AI models that can comprehend and handle these challenges effectively. This is where the emergence of Large Vision Models (LVMs) becomes crucial.
LVMs are a new category of AI models specifically designed for analyzing and interpreting visual information, such as images and videos, on a large scale, with impressive accuracy. Unlike traditional computer vision models that rely on manual feature crafting, LVMs leverage deep learning techniques, utilizing extensive datasets to generate authentic and diverse outputs. An outstanding feature of LVMs is their ability to seamlessly integrate visual information with other modalities, such as natural language and audio, enabling a comprehensive understanding and generation of multimodal outputs.
LVMs are defined by their key attributes and capabilities, including their proficiency in advanced image and video processing tasks related to natural language and visual information. This includes tasks like generating captions, descriptions, stories, code, and more. LVMs also exhibit multimodal learning by effectively processing information from various sources, such as text, images, videos, and audio, resulting in outputs across different modalities.
Additionally, LVMs possess adaptability through transfer learning, meaning they can apply knowledge gained from one domain or task to another, with the capability to adapt to new data or scenarios through minimal fine-tuning. Moreover, their real-time decision-making capabilities empower rapid and adaptive responses, supporting interactive applications in gaming, education, and entertainment.
How LVMs Can Boost Enterprise Performance and Innovation?
Adopting LVMs can provide enterprises with powerful and promising technology to navigate the evolving AI discipline, making them more future-ready and competitive. LVMs have the potential to enhance productivity, efficiency, and innovation across various domains and applications. However, it is important to consider the ethical, security, and integration challenges associated with LVMs, which require responsible and careful management.
Moreover, LVMs enable insightful analytics by extracting and synthesizing information from diverse visual data sources, including images, videos, and text. Their capability to generate realistic outputs, such as captions, descriptions, stories, and code based on visual inputs, empowers enterprises to make informed decisions and optimize strategies. The creative potential of LVMs emerges in their ability to develop new business models and opportunities, particularly those using visual data and multimodal capabilities.
Prominent examples of enterprises adopting LVMs for these advantages include Landing AI, a computer vision cloud platform addressing diverse computer vision challenges, and Snowflake, a cloud data platform facilitating LVM deployment through Snowpark Container Services. Additionally, OpenAI, contributes to LVM development with models like GPT-4, CLIP, DALL-E, and OpenAI Codex, capable of handling various tasks involving natural language and visual information.
In the post-pandemic landscape, LVMs offer additional benefits by assisting enterprises in adapting to remote work, online shopping trends, and digital transformation. Whether enabling remote collaboration, enhancing online marketing and sales through personalized recommendations, or contributing to digital health and wellness via telemedicine, LVMs emerge as powerful tools.
Challenges and Considerations for Enterprises in LVM Adoption
While the promises of LVMs are extensive, their adoption is not without challenges and considerations. Ethical implications are significant, covering issues related to bias, transparency, and accountability. Instances of bias in data or outputs can lead to unfair or inaccurate representations, potentially undermining the trust and fairness associated with LVMs. Thus, ensuring transparency in how LVMs operate and the accountability of developers and users for their consequences becomes essential.
Security concerns add another layer of complexity, requiring the protection of sensitive data processed by LVMs and precautions against adversarial attacks. Sensitive information, ranging from health records to financial transactions, demands robust security measures to preserve privacy, integrity, and reliability.
Integration and scalability hurdles pose additional challenges, especially for large enterprises. Ensuring compatibility with existing systems and processes becomes a crucial factor to consider. Enterprises need to explore tools and technologies that facilitate and optimize the integration of LVMs. Container services, cloud platforms, and specialized platforms for computer vision offer solutions to enhance the interoperability, performance, and accessibility of LVMs.
To tackle these challenges, enterprises must adopt best practices and frameworks for responsible LVM use. Prioritizing data quality, establishing governance policies, and complying with relevant regulations are important steps. These measures ensure the validity, consistency, and accountability of LVMs, enhancing their value, performance, and compliance within enterprise settings.
Future Trends and Possibilities for LVMs
With the adoption of digital transformation by enterprises, the domain of LVMs is poised for further evolution. Anticipated advancements in model architectures, training techniques, and application areas will drive LVMs to become more robust, efficient, and versatile. For example, self-supervised learning, which enables LVMs to learn from unlabeled data without human intervention, is expected to gain prominence.
Likewise, transformer models, renowned for their ability to process sequential data using attention mechanisms, are likely to contribute to state-of-the-art outcomes in various tasks. Similarly, Zero-shot learning, allowing LVMs to perform tasks they have not been explicitly trained on, is set to expand their capabilities even further.
Simultaneously, the scope of LVM application areas is expected to widen, encompassing new industries and domains. Medical imaging, in particular, holds promise as an avenue where LVMs could assist in the diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment of various diseases and conditions, including cancer, COVID-19, and Alzheimer’s.
In the e-commerce sector, LVMs are expected to enhance personalization, optimize pricing strategies, and increase conversion rates by analyzing and generating images and videos of products and customers. The entertainment industry also stands to benefit as LVMs contribute to the creation and distribution of captivating and immersive content across movies, games, and music.
To fully utilize the potential of these future trends, enterprises must focus on acquiring and developing the necessary skills and competencies for the adoption and implementation of LVMs. In addition to technical challenges, successfully integrating LVMs into enterprise workflows requires a clear strategic vision, a robust organizational culture, and a capable team. Key skills and competencies include data literacy, which encompasses the ability to understand, analyze, and communicate data.
The Bottom Line
In conclusion, LVMs are effective tools for enterprises, promising transformative impacts on productivity, efficiency, and innovation. Despite challenges, embracing best practices and advanced technologies can overcome hurdles. LVMs are envisioned not just as tools but as pivotal contributors to the next technological era, requiring a thoughtful approach. A practical adoption of LVMs ensures future readiness, acknowledging their evolving role for responsible integration into business processes.

Pale winter sun shafts seared the thick blanket of snow clouds. Tiny snowflakes fluttered to the earth like floundering lost souls resisting the inevitable demise in one last, sorrowful dance. Then, the Hanok groaned in tongues as Sukuna's presence entered the room, warranting Uraume's immediate attention.
"Lord Sukuna," they greeted, bowing humbly. In silence, they attended Sukuna's mood, somber and reposed. A warm hue graced their cheeks as they rose to their full height. As the Western world's year came to a close, they ruminated on the time spent in the city. Evolution expanded their affections to another and ultimately altered their perspective of service. "The revolutions we've shared on this realm has been many; however, the monotonous eon of separation has left me overwhelmed in gratitude to be of service in the previous and the approaching year." Uraume's ears burned brightly in between the shock of white. "I am yours to command, Lord Sukuna."
