This seeing the young man approaches the maid: “Do you wish to dance?” – for he has the first word – “Where Sava’s swift waters with Danube’s are stirred This morning I first of your great beauty heard, Already, fair Urska, we two are well met, Already, fair Urska, to dance I am set!”

He speaks and in front of her deeply he bows, Fair Urska bestows upon him a sweet smile: “I have not a single step danced yet awhile, For you I’ve been waiting, I’ll say without guile; So come, waste no time now, just give me your hand, The sun’s going down and the dance soon will end!”

The handsome young man now gives Urska his hand, And swiftly the pair round the dance-floor take flight As if each is borne on two wings feather-light, Their spinning around’s an ethereal sight; It cannot be seen if they touch the ground, As swept by a whirlwind they dance round and round

In awe, the musicians now play not a sound, On seeing this sight all the bystanders stare; And, hearing the trumpeters no longer blare, The youth loudly stamps and they hear him declare: “I care not a whit for the fiddle and bass Let others strings sound when I’m dancing apace!”

Apace have come rushing black lowering clouds, They hear in the sky fearful thunder resound, They hear how the winds grimly whistle around, They hear rushing rivulets noisily pound, And all of those there feel their hair stand on end – O Urska, fair Urska, such woes now impend!

“Fear not, fairest Urska, just keep well in step! Fear not,” he declares, “if the thunder resounds, Fear not that the water so noisily pounds Fear not the strong winds with their whistling sounds; Just speedily, speedily make your feet haste, Just speedily, quickly, there’s no time to waste.”

“I must have a rest now, I’m quite out of breath! Let’s stop for a little, kind dancer, my dear!” “The white land of Turkey is not at all near, Where Danuble is met by the Sava so clear, The deafening waters are waiting to greet You, Urska! so quickly keep moving your feet!”

He spoke, and they danced on more rapidly yet, Away from the dance floor and further they whirled, Beside the Ljubljanica thrice round they swirled, Still dancing, they ‘neath the loud waters were hurled. A whirlpool was seen from their boats by some men, But nobody ever saw Urska again.

Thank You, RBG

We are heartbroken. Supreme Court Justice and gender equality hero Ruth Bader Ginsburg died on Friday, Sept. 18. Her death is a painful loss for our country. She was a fierce and unapologetic warrior for equality, and her achievements are endless. As we mourn we’re also embracing our gratitude for her service to our country.

Cherishing RBG’s Legacy

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg committed her life to protecting the rights, freedoms, and health of people across the country — in particular women, communities of color, and others whose voices too often go unheard. She was a true trailblazer who inspired millions of girls and women to fight through sexism and discrimination to make American a better place to work, to live, and to love.

Her powerful words over the years, including her razor-sharp dissents, helped push our nation toward freedom and opportunity for all. Her spirit, values, and words will be deeply missed.

A Modern Revolutionary

Some revolutionaries shook up a society with anger burning and guns blazing. Others studied hard, knocked down an unfair system one peg at a time, and spoke truth to power while wearing a lace collar. That was Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

She got two mottoes from her mother, Celia Bader (who marched for women’s suffrage):

“Be independent,” take care of yourself without being financially beholden to a man, and

“Be a lady,” don't allow emotions like anger to be so consuming they get in your way.

When Ruth Bader Ginsburg saw anything repugnant — like systemic discrimination — she would get straight to work. It wasn’t easy. Over decades, Ruth Bader Ginsburg faced a slew of indignities. But she harnessed courage and resolve to strategically break down America’s sexist, unethical laws and institutions.

To honor the Notorious RBG, we’ve collected our seven favorite facts about her life and her legacy.

7) RBG was defiant in the face of entrenched sexism in college and law school.

Most colleges didn’t accept women in the 1950s, and Ruth Bader was one of the first to break the gender barrier. At Cornell University, she was sexually harassed by a professor, who offered answers to a test in exchange for sex. She confronted him: “I went to his office and I said, ‘How dare you? How dare you do this?’ And that was the end of that.”

At Harvard Law School, she and the eight other women in her class of more than 500 students were ogled, ignored in the classroom, excluded from the library, and asked by the dean how they could possibly justify taking a seat away from a man. But that hostile environment didn’t stop her.

She fought it with brain power and superhuman physical endurance. She was so obsessed with the law that she’d regularly stay up until dawn studying. Well into her 80s, she retained her reputation for working until 3 a.m. and living on just two hours of sleep.

While she was kicking butt at the top of her classes, she was also taking care of her young daughter and sick husband. Martin (Marty) Ginsburg contracted testicular cancer and had extensive radiation therapy, which kept him from going to his own law school classes. So, RBG organized his friends to attend his classes, worked through their notes with Marty, and typed up Marty’s papers — all while doing her own schoolwork on top of it.

She tied for first in her class from Columbia Law School in 1959. She also was the first person to become a member of both the prestigious Harvard Law Review, and the Columbia Law Review — one of many of her unprecedented feats. She proved to those elite schools that a woman could succeed.

6) RBG showed the world what a partnership looks like in a husband-wife relationship.

Ruth Bader met Marty Ginsburg while they were both at Cornell University, and they forged an equal partnership from the beginning. He learned to cook so she didn’t have to. Later, he lobbied for her seats on the Court of Appeals in D.C. and on the Supreme Court. And he gave up his law firm in New York to follow her to Washington — a shocking move at the time.

Here’s how she put it at her 1993 Senate confirmation hearing:

“I surely would not be in this room today without the determined efforts of men and women who kept dreams of equal citizenship alive. I have had the great good fortune to share life with a partner truly extraordinary for his generation. A man who believed at age 18 when we met that a woman’s work, whether at home or on the job, is as important as a man’s. I became a lawyer when women were not wanted by most members of the legal profession. I became a lawyer because Marty supported that choice unreservedly.”

5.) RBG won a whopping five cases before the Supreme Court — and they all advanced the Constitutional protection of equal rights for all Americans.

As smart and accomplished as Ruth Bader Ginsburg was, no law firm would hire her after she graduated from law school. Law firms slammed the door in her face time after time because they only hired men. She realized that “being a woman was an impediment.”

As Ginsburg navigated the legal working world in the 1960s, she saw how thousands of state and federal laws were treating women as second-class citizens. At that time, most states’ laws allowed employment termination for pregnancy, and let banks deny credit to women without a male co-signer. The Supreme Court had rejected every challenge to laws that treated women worse than men.

All this gender discrimination fueled Ginsburg’s drive for social justice. In the early 1970s, she followed the strategy of NAACP civil rights lawyer and Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall, who helped dismantle Jim Crow laws case by case over many years — leading to Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka, which outlawed racial segregation in schools in 1954. Like Marshall, Ginsburg centered her arguments on the 14th Amendment to the Constitution, which says all persons should be treated equally under the law.

Throughout the ‘70s, Ginsburg led the ACLU’s Women's Rights Project, for which she argued and won five landmark gender equality cases before the Supreme Court. As she said in the 2018 documentary RBG: "I knew that I was speaking to men who didn't think there was such a thing as gender-based discrimination, and my job was to tell them it really exists.”

These cases set the foundation for the country’s laws against sex discrimination, and helped eliminate being male as the criteria for employment, pay, and benefits:

Two cases in 1975 and 1979 established the requirement that women serve on juries, recognizing that they should enjoy both the benefits and the responsibilities of our judicial system.

“The vaunted woman's privilege viewed against history's backdrop simply reflects and perpetuates a certain way of thinking about women. Women traditionally were deemed lesser citizens.”

An employment benefits case in 1973 required the U.S. military to equally distribute family-based benefits for service members regardless of sex.

“In asking the Court to declare sex a suspect criterion, we urge a position forcibly stated in 1837 by Sara Grimke, noted abolitionist and advocate of equal rights for men and women. She said, ‘I ask no favor for my sex. All I ask of our brethren is that they take their feet off our necks.'”

Two cases in 1974 and 1975 threw out gender-based distinctions in survivors’ benefits, granting widowers the same benefits as widows. RBG argued that while giving widows special treatment sounded nice, it wasn’t. Withholding benefits to widowers devalued the work of their deceased wives.

4) At her confirmation hearings, RBG openly declared that abortion access is a Constitutional right.

At her 1993 Supreme Court confirmation hearings, Ruth Bader Ginsburg showed what it looks like to uphold constitutional rights. Unlike recent Supreme Court nominees, she affirmatively declared the Constitutional right to safe, legal abortion. When Sen. Hank Brown (R-CO) grilled her about her views on abortion, she declared:

“But you asked me about my thinking about equal protection versus individual autonomy, and my answer to you is it's both. This is something central to a woman's life, to her dignity. It's a decision that she must make for herself. And when Government controls that decision for her, she's being treated as less than a fully adult human responsible for her own choices.”

3) RBG wrote the historic decision ruling that state-funded schools must admit women.

In 1996, Justice Ginsburg wrote the Supreme Court’s majority opinion in United States v. Virginia, which ruled that the Virginia Military Institute’s men-only admission policy violated the 14th Amendment’s equal protection clause. Justice Ginsburg destroyed the Institute’s argument that its program wasn’t suitable for women. Instead, she wrote that:

“[G]eneralizations about ‘the way women are,’ estimates of what is appropriate for most women, no longer justify denying opportunity to women whose talent and capacity place them outside the average description.”

The school has admitted women since then, and — as Justice Ginsburg predicted — they have made the school proud.

2) RBG’s dissent from the majority in Lilly Ledbetter’s case led to the passage a fair pay law.

In 2007, Justice Ginsburg dissented in the ruling against Lilly Ledbetter — a tire factory employee who learned, decades into her tenure, that she was being paid much less than men in the exact same supervisory role: She was making $3,727 per month, while her male counterparts were making between $4,286 and $5,236 per month. However, she lost the case because the Civil Rights Act had a statute of limitations for reporting on discrimination.

In her scathing dissent, Justice Ginsburg wrote that gender discrimination can be hidden for a long time and “the ball is in Congress’s court” to change the rule. In 2009, Barack Obama signed the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, which extended the Civil Rights Act’s statute of limitations and guarantees women equal pay for equal work.

1.) RBG put the smack down on TRAP laws in Whole Woman’s Health v. Hellerstedt.

In the landmark Whole Woman’s Health v. Hellerstedt case in 2016, the Supreme Court — including Justice Ginsburg — ruled that two abortion restrictions in Texas were unconstitutional because they would shut down most clinics in the state and cause Texans an “undue burden” on access to safe, legal abortion. The case exposed the lie that anti-abortion politicians have been peddling for years: that it’s somehow “safer” when the state imposes medically unnecessary, onerous targeted restrictions against abortion providers (TRAP) laws.

In her concurring opinion to the majority, Justice Ginsburg wrote:

“Given those realities [that keep abortion access out of reach], it is beyond rational belief that H.B. 2 could genuinely protect the health of women, and certain that the law ‘would simply make it more difficult for them to obtain abortions’... When a State severely limits access to safe and legal procedures, women in desperate circumstances may resort to unlicensed rogue practitioners... at great risk to their health and safety.”

With this historic decision, the Court reaffirmed the constitutional right to access legal abortion. This decision was a triumph for abortion access. And when one of the restrictions that Ginsburg helped strike down came up in another lawsuit this year, Ginsburg again helped lead the Court to protecting abortion access in a major Supreme Court victory for reproductive rights.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg rose for all of us. How will we work together to rise for her?

From day one, Justice Ginsburg recognized our constitutional right to control our bodies and our destinies. That is a legacy that cannot and must not depart with her.

my mindset is so top tier and amazing. i am literally the epitome of perfect. my mind is already so powerful, i am already so wealthy, pretty, smart, sexy, and kind. i know for a fact that i am that girl. i have always had perfect mental health. from this point on, i am my only god. because i am god, my self concept is so perfect. i am effortlessly am the best at any and everything i do, being around me is like paradise and heaven. i manifest faster than the speed of light, there is never a time when i dont get what i want. i am so powerful and so is my mind. i inspire myself everyday. i never doubt bc i dont need too. everyone who talks to me is blessed !! obvi.

I don't know why the hell, but I imagine Kon as a guy who likes thighs and boobs. He doesn't really care if they're big or small, for the boy they'll always be perfect, whether it's for laying his head down on a bad day, seeking comfort, or simply being great for him to hold on to.

Why the hell would he use stress toys when he has you and your nice thighs/boobs around for when he needs it?

A bonus is that I think of Conner as someone who would love to see him smile, as if just the fact that you smile at something he said made your day better at exactly the same time.

K = Kisses (how do they like to kiss you?)

As we all know, this boy's strength is thunderous and he has to make violent efforts with his body daily in the fight against crime, for this reason he would choose to hold her with the greatest gentleness in the world, giving her long but soft kisses.

He would definitely withdraw a few minutes before he left anywhere or when he got home, just pulling you into his lap and kissing you with total devotion. He would have some silly hands too, but you know what Conner is like, don't you?

Anyway, he would use kisses as a sweet way to show his love since words are not so easy for the boy. Blame CADMUS for not teaching the poor bean to express himself correctly when it comes to feelings.

If I asked them both, they would surely both answer: The day we met.

It was a severe winter in Metropolis, you just moved to the place on account of the university and were soon greeted by a terrible snowfall, it seemed that some crazy villain was willing to transform all the residents into new flavors of ice cream.

Well, for your unhappiness or happiness? IDK. His car ended up sliding around a dangerous curve in the direction of the opposite traffic road, and as it always got worse, it was night and the only thing he could see was a truck honking because it was speeding towards him. Obviously you thought you were going to die, but a boy in a T-shirt with the House of El logo and a leather jacket lifted his car just in time for everything to go wrong.

That night, in addition to getting a ride with Superboy, you met the love of your life. It's funny to think that this is both the worst and the best memory of the two of you together.

I can't see him using pet names, if not to tease her. Something like when Tim came to visit them and Kon made a point of calling her a different nickname every minute:

"Sweetie, could you get us some water if you're not busy?"

"You know Timmy...my princess also understands about this matter."

"I really think you are the most beautiful doll I've ever seen in this world."

"We already understand that you love to embarrass her, Conner."

"Shut up Timothy, let me pamper my little angel."

Oh shit...yeah, but I also think he would eventually grow fond of the nickname "Princess", using it whenever he can just out of habit. You don't really care.

He is certainly a born flirt, after all the boy knew how to take advantage of the beauty he was given. But instead of talking about himself in conversation (which everyone always thinks will happen), he doesn't shut the fuck up for a goddam second about his girlfriend.

"Oh, Y/N is just the best thing in my life."

"Yeah, I date the most badass girl ever."

If you were studying, certainly any time you get good grades, he will be extremely happy and will not stop babbling about how smart your loved one is. Lowkey Tim and Dick think it's cute but can't stand to hear his name in conversation anymore.

He'll really love it if you talk about him too, but he'll be smug as hell when that happens.

Carter Baizen Fluff Alphabet

Never written for Carter, but I’ve seen Gossip Girl, so I hope I did Carter justice. Lmk how I did! On my Masterlist if you want to check that out.

Attractive:(What do they find attractive about you?)

Your devious smile. He likes how you always are a step of him, and he never knows what’s up next with you. Your smile never ceases to charm him. He never knows if your smile means you’re up to something or if something good happened, and he likes figuring out that mystery. Carter is always down to stir up some trouble, and with you by his side, you two are the ultimate power couple.

Baby:(do they want to have kids?)

Yes, but no more than one, or maybe two. He wants to focus more on his work and you, and he feels like kids might distract him. But he did tell you once, while you were shopping, that he would have one kid with you. A son, one that he can pass on his stories, good looks and charm too. Also to teach him how to thrive in the City that Never Sleeps.

Cuddle:(how do they cuddle?)

He likes it when your head is resting on his chest, or when your head is laying on his shoulder. When your head is on his chest, he likes how comfortable you look. Same when its on his shoulder. He just likes seeing your happy and content in his arms, knowing that your safe with him, not matter what trouble crosses your path, or whatever trouble you both cause.

Dates:(What are dates like with them?)

He will take you to the most expensive restaurants in the city. Masa, Per Se, Kurumazushi, and Eleven Madison Park are the most frequent ones you go to.

Everything:(you are my ____ ex: my world, my life)

You are my diamond in the rough. He still can’t believe he found you. Out of all the girls in the Upper East Side, you managed to sweep him off his feet. And you still can’t believe he fell for you. Sometimes you have to pinch yourself, since you still think being with Carter is a dream. You are his special diamond, the best one, that he found in a sea of jewels, just as good, but you stood out to him, for all the right reasons.

Feelings:(when did they know they were in love?)

He fell for you when he met you. You met him at a casino, where he gambles a lot. You were playing Blackjack against him, and you were able to get $5,000 bucks off of him. It was like you knew what cards were coming next, and you kept getting Carters money, to the point that he was out of it.

As he was complaining about losing his money, he was flirting with you, saying how if you were with him, you would make his pockets hurt. Your signature smirk agreed with him, and Carter knew he was a goner. He never met anyone like you, and needed you in his life.

Gentle:(Are they gentle and how so?)

Gentle isn’t a word I would use to describe Carter automatically. But once he started seeing you more and more, he became more touchy with you, and opened his shell, for you to see what’s underneath. He still does have a bit of an attitude though, but you deal with it.

He isn’t the sneaky, manipulative playboy that everyone in the Upper East Side made you believe he was. He was a kind, charming and special human being. Carter changed your mind about something: you never know what’s behind all the glitz and glam.

Hands:(do they like to hold hands?)

Now he does.

When he grew up, he didn’t have the best relationship with his parents, which caused him to lose his trust fund and start out on his own, all from scratch. His parents weren’t the nicest to him and never really gave him hugs, never held hands with him, or any physical contact at all

You held his hand once when you went shopping, and his immediate reaction was to jerk his hand away from you and ask you what your problem was. But he immediately apologized once he realized the words that left his mouth and slowly explained why he wasn’t use to people holding his hand.

When he told you, you automatically forgave him. And you started holding his hand more and more often, causing him to get used to the feeling and grabbing your hand on his own. And now he wants to hold your hand all the time.

Impression:(what did they first think of you?)

Carter thought that you were different, in a good way. No, in an amazing way. You weren’t like all those other spoiled rich bitches that he grew up with. You were kind, smart and poised.

Jealousy:(do they get jealous easily?)

Yes. He doesn’t like you around other rich men. But this doesn’t happen often. Most of the rich men are old and in their eighties, but you never go after them, no. You go after their sons, only if you get into a fight with Carter. You do it just to piss the crap outta him. His fists always tighten, eyebrows always furrow and his jaw always clenched, getting the reaction you want out of him.

Kiss:(how do they kiss? Who initiated the first kiss?)

Carter normally pecks you on the cheek or on the lips when you are both out in public. When you are just with him is a completely different story though. But, in both ways, his kisses always mean something, he never kisses you when he doesn’t want to. He kisses you because he needs to.

Carter made the first move on you. You weren’t expecting him to kiss you so intensely. And it made you swoon over him even more. It was so electrifying and intense, and just out of this world.

Love:(who said ‘I love you’ first?)

Carter did. It was about a month after you both officially were a couple. You were at some stupid ceremony or party, whatever it was it was stupid. But Carter got drunk on some champagne, and it was entertaining nonetheless. But you were both in his limo when he drunkenly told you he loved you. You were taken aback, because the sober Carter wouldn’t tell you this fast. But you just thanked him, because you didn’t know if it was the alcohol that was just making him say stuff he doesn’t mean, and his cheeks got all rosy even though you didn’t say it back.

You did ask him the next day, when he was sober. He just shrugged it off at first, but you grabbed his collar and told him to tell you the truth. Carter told you he meant every word, and you told him you loved him back.

Memory:(what’s their favorite memory with you?)

His favorite memory is when you and him went to some retro pinball place in the city. He thought you were delusional when you said you wanted to go there for a date. The place didn’t look expensive, didn’t have butlers or anything like that. But once you stepped into the doors and showed him how to play, he knew what it was like to not be raised on Louis Vuitton and Chanel. He knew what it was like to be normal for once.

Even though you were only able to spend an hour there, he had one of the best times in his life. And so did you. You showed him how the live in the moment, something that he will never take for granted.

Nickel:(do they spoil you?)

Cmon, is that even a question. Of course he does, he’s Carter fucking Baizen. Anything you want he either has, had or can get.

Orange:(what color reminds them of you?)

Gold, 24 karat gold. Gold brings out the tones of your skin and your eyes, and Carter thinks you look like an angel whenever he sees you in the color or wearing gold jewelry. Carter always swears that he sees the goddess in you, and always buys more clothes and jewelry that’s gold, just so he can see you like a goddess all the time.

Pet Names:(what pet names do they call you?)

He calls you his ‘angel’, ‘goddess’, and his ‘princess’.

Quaint:(what’s their favorite non-modern thing?)

Carter misses the old timey phones. The ones that were connected to a wire, to the house. Having the turn the circle thing to get the number you wanted. He remembers he used to have one, crested in gold, and he would play with it all the time, only to get scolded by his parents.

(idk how to describe this type of phone. I’ve only seen it once in person and have no clue how to use it. And i’m young, not even a millennial. If you know what I mean, I applaud you.)

Rainy Day:(What do they like to do on rainy days?)

You can never remember a time that it rained when you were with Carter. When you did hear that it rained in the city, you and him were always on vacation somewhere. Fiji, Santorini, Rome, Paris, London, you name it. You do miss the rain though, but you prefer the sunshine a lot better.

Sad:(how do they cheer themselves up?)

He cheers himself up whenever he wins a game of poker. Or blackjack. But mostly, he gets happy when he takes you for a shopping spree. He doesn’t care how much money you spend. As long as you have a smile plastered on your face, he could care less.

Talking:(what do they like to talk about?)

He likes to talk about his plans for the future with you. What restaurants he wants to try next, where he wants you to go with him for your next vacation, new business deals he’s been working on, famous people he has met in the past. He doesn’t mean to brag, but sometimes he likes to brag. But you enjoy listening to his plans and his achievements, you enjoy his stories.

Unwind:(what helps them relax?)

He will never tell you this, he thinks its too embarrassing. He can only imagine if Gossip Girl knew. He likes it when you play with his hair. It’s like a mini massage. Only better and a lot more soothing than the masseuses that normally work for him.

Vaunt:(What do they like to show off/brag about?)

He likes to show off anything and everything that he possibly can. His money, his limos and cars, is penthouse. But he shows you off whenever you are around. And you always blush uncontrollably when he does.

Wedding:(how, where and when do they propose?)

Carter likes to go big or go home. You told him once that he is the Upper East Side version of Tony Stark, and he happily agreed.

So he proposed at the most beautiful place he could think of. He wanted to do it in the city, where he is from and where he could come again. He was able to rent the Empire State Building for a few hours. You had never been on the top floor, so Carter made it his mission to propose to you there. Where you could see the city skyline for days and never get sick of it.

You were not expecting it, and you cried tears of joy when he got down on one knee. His smile could light up all the building in the city when you said yes. And when he placed the diamond rock, wrapped in a gold band with tiny details only the most observant could see, you went to cloud-9. It was the best day of your life.

Since you have showed him to the world of YouTube, he has watched a lot of music videos. And one of them caught his eye. He doesn’t remember the name of it, and he doesn’t bother to care. But the person had a live Jaguar in it. A real life one. And he wanted one sooo badly.

He begged you for one, he got down on his knees. He was acting like a child that didn’t get the toy they wanted for Christmas.

“I want one,” he begged.

“No,” you said flat out.

the echo had shown her much by this point. the WEAPONs. gaius’s children. she knew their names by now. she had seen them all. flashes and glimpses of a side of him that xel had never known was there before. of how he had taken them in, raised them, reared them -- and it cut her to the quick. it was not for herself that she feared -- it was for them. for these young men and women who had been taken in by the infamous black wolf of garlemald. by these people who had been used by this bastard here. but fear, for herself? no. xel had faced down worse than this man.

she was a slayer of gods.

so to come here and find herself captured was easy. there were ways to spring traps and she had surrendered her staff with ease. to get in close was a non-issue. xel did have her ways of doing things, after all. the vaunted warrior of light had decided that she wished to chat with this man -- and getting in close was easy when you had ideas of what to expect. gaius had been scathing in what he’d said -- and xel was a smart woman. her ears twitched here and now as she heard the tread of the man who was sneering at her. so when his hand came near her head? there was a baring of FANGS. xel had quite an impressive array of sharp teeth -- and it was at his own folly if he put his hand near her face.

❝ aren’t you quite the coward, ❞ declared xel as those dark eyes of hers focused on the man. ❝ oh, you’re careful, aren’t you--? a man who uses children because they’re the only ones he can hurt? how pitiful. no wonder gaius considers you beneath contempt. ❞

slowly her hands twisted in the bindings. snug, secure -- but xel knew ways of how to break bindings. she knew what she was capable of. she had borne the Light within her to the point of it staining her hair. what did one small man who used children in the way he did think he could do to her? she saw the fear in the girl -- and that had her blood ready to boil. her lips pulled back from her teeth and then xel grinned. it was a cold grin. a hard grin. she saw the children -- and the children were the important part. but she saw him stepping near the girl. how she saw it -- and xel’s eyes were cold now. cold -- cold as could be as she found power coming to her fingertips. she did not fear for the children -- she was capable of dumping her power upon one person.

❝ but what can be expected of a man like you? after all -- i imagine that it’s the only way you have of trying to impress anyone, since you can’t handle a fight on your own. too bad for you -- a stupid man always bores me more than anything else. add on being petty and you really don’t have a good look going. at least asahi was interesting -- and asahi was a rabid dog. ❞

and there were ways to get out of chairs and bindings.

her weight rocked suddenly, forward and onto the balls of her feet -- and then xel was throwing herself backwards to topple the chair over, enough to likely make him whip away from the girl. she drove herself backwards and if the distraction worked? how her eyes flared with a luminosity that was not feigned. did they think her powerless just because they’d taken her staff? not so. to move from magical to melee was no great difficulty and she was very stilled with other weaponry besides the aetherial manipulation that she favored. but her eyes glowed now as she gathered in her power and spoke an unword.

if the chair broke -- how easy it was for her to whip around, power seething around her, and launch herself at him.

and a six fulm one ilm miqo’te could very easily cover such a distance without issue indeed.

Fluff Alphabet Charlie x Samantha Edition

First: Thank you @carewyncromwell and @mizutoyama for tagging me! This fluff Alphabet is so cute and I just realise I never really post much Details about Charlie x Samantha! Let´s change this!

And because this post is super long again, I put it under a line.

A: Attractive (What do they find attractive about the other?)

For Charlie: In the first Way it´s Samanthas Character. She is a “Ravendore”. Brave and adventurous, but also smart and have a unsual point of view.The Adventure comes with her. And to be honest, I think he even like the fact, that Samantha is a half-Vampire. She can get sharp Theeth, can be dangerous for humans...just like a DRAGON! From the physical point of view he loves her unnatural green eyes. And yaeh, she simple look good.

For Samantha: Its the Way he treated her! He was the fist one who know about her Vampireside, her past, her problems and her family and simple don´t care. He cares about her true personality and even like it! (he must be crazy or something!). And Samantha never tought about it, but she actually like the muscular type, so Charlie is totally her type. XD

B: Baby (Do they want a family? Why/Why not?)

This is a good Questions. I´m still unsure if Samantha and Charlie will have kids. So I can´t really answered this. A few weeks ago I created a daughter, but she is still not canon. :/

C: Cuddle (How do they cuddle?)

While they are at Hogwarts not really. They keep their relationships as a secret,so they don´t have a lot of chances to cuddle, hold hands or stuff like that. But when they get the chance, they take it! Samantha turn into a Koala-Panda-Cuddle-Typ and while she is in Charlies Arms, he likes to play with her hair.

D: Dates (What are dates with them?)

They keep their relationship as a secret, so they never really have a Date. But everyone at Hogwarts knows they are best friends, so it nothing special, when they go to Hogsmead, drinking butterbeer together or etc.

E: Everything (You are my ____ (e.g. my life, my world…))

For Charlies: Samantha, you are my Adventure.

For Samantha: Charlie, you are my Peace.

F: Feelings (When did they know they were in love?)

It took a while since both realise they are in love. Both are acting always like “naaaa, we are best friends. and beside he/she would never fall in love with me. NNAAAAA!” But....

For Charlie: I think he always found Samantha interesting. But he realise it was Love a few Days before the spring yule ball (details later). He was jealous of Samanthas Danceparnter and didn´t know why. He talks with Bill about that and realise after that conversation, that he loves Samantha.

For Samantha: She realised it after Qudditch match (Gryffindore vs Hufflepuff), where Charlie gets injured. Just the thought of losing him, takes her breath and she knows that this is not normal. When she knows he was alright, Samantha went to her Room and cry secrently. On the one hand because she was happy, on the other hand because she don´t know what to do because of her feelings.

G: Gentle (Are they gentle? If so, how?)

They are very gently with each other. There is just one exception - Qudditch. When both are on a qudditch field they are rival (and also want to impress the other one with the own skills). It´s their way of respect the other as a seeker and its some kind of honor.

H: Hands (How do they like to hold hands?)

Acutally - no. They are cuddling (later, after Hogwarts), or do something. Both are no holding-hands type. It´s really rare, like they are on a walk in winter.

I: Impression (What was their first impression?)

For Charlie: he was the first of them who notice the other one. He saw Samantha at her Duell with Merula on their first year. Later Bill talks a lot about the O´Connell Girl and their adventures. He was impressed, that a Ravenclaw is so brave and likes the adventure. And...she ist also playing Qudditch? What a cool person! It would be very cool to be friend with her.But how ....?

For Samantha: it took a while before Samantha really noticed Charlie. She saw him a few times in the great hall or on the corridors. And she know he was the Gryffindor Seeker.She noticed him the first time in the magical creator class,while he was talking to Barnaby about Dragons. She found Charlies Dragon passion cool and she was suprised, when he wants to be her friend. But Bill always talk about how cool is younger brother is, so why not?

J: Jealousy (Do they get jealous?)

Both are not very jealous. It takes a long time, but when one of both is jealous they become very quite and sassy. Charlie would directly say he is jealous, but Samantha wouldn´t adminted it. She dosen´t want to make Chalire things, she didn´t trust him, but at some point she isn´t good in sharing her boyfriend/husband.

K: Kiss (How do they kiss? Who initiated the first kiss?)

They do all kinds of Kisses. On the cheek (Samantha), on the forehead (Charlie), passionate, short, to annoy the other one, to win a argument. Thery are actually a lot of resons why and how they kiss.

But the Story behind the first kiss would be huge spoiler, so I don´t give you much Details. >:) let me just say, both initiated the first kiss.

L: Love (Who says ‘I love you’ first?)

It was Samantha. She was afraid of Charlies Answer, but she couldn´t hold her feelings back. She never thought he would love her back and Charlie never thought a Girl like Samantha would love him.

M: Memory (What’s their favourite memory together?)

N: Nickel (Do they spoil one another? Do they buy the person they love everything?)

For Chalrie: It was the last Qudditch match at Hogwarts. Before the game start both do a bet. The winners owns a favor. It was the match where he realsed their Relationship. Gryffindor wins, Charlie immediately redeemed the favor and kissed Samantha in front of the howl School. So cheeky.

For Samantha: it's their first kiss. So I can't tell you details right now.

Yes and no. Both want to make the other one happy, but not in a materials way. Without doubt, Samanthas Family have money and she could buy what ever she wants, but Samantha loves selfmade prasents and Charlie and his Family knows that. The one reason why Samantha still BUY stuff is because she has to right hand (she is left hand), when it comes to selfmade thinks.

Its more the little things they enjoyed. When Samantha cooks, when Charlies crafts things with Dragon Material.

O: Orange (What colour reminds them of their other half?)

For Charlie: Samantha is green! Like the Dragon scales from the welsh Green, or her eyes or her irish spirit.

For Samantha: It´s Gold. Not red, not Orange, Gold. A warm tone, that makes her feels comfortably. When the sun goes down and the light shines on his hair, she sees this gold.

P: Pet names (What pet names do they use?)

For Charlie: I don´t know if you can call it a pet name, but Charlie calls Samantha “Sam”. It´s an unwritten law, that just Charlie is allowed to do that without making Samantha angry. As an Adult he calls her sometimes “Honey” or “ my irish green” (because the welsh green is Samanthas favorite Dragon).

For Samantha: You know Charlie is in trouble, when Samantha calls him “Charles”, you know Charlie is nearly a dead men, when Samantha calls him “Charles Weasley”. But thats a other story XD. Normally Samantha don´t use pet names. There are just a few moments, where she calls Charlie “ Darling” or “my Dragon”.

Q: Quaint (What is their favorite non-modern thing?)

Both like walking and personaly I think they to a lot of quaint stuff. As Adults both like to travel in their holidays and also hiking, rafting (the only thing Samantha do on her own is diving and I can´t imagen Charlies likes to be under water for a long time, and he also don´t like it when Samantha does.)

And of cause Charlie can´t escape Samanthas love for books. So both reads a lot if they can´t go outside.

R: Rainy Day (What do they like to do on a rainy day?)

It depends on how much it rains. You can also go on a walk with a umbrella and see how the world looks like while its raining. And beside, Samantha loves the smell of the Rain and Charlie loves to take a bath after both get wet ( cough cough with Samantha cough cough XD)

When the rain is so strong or there is even a storm, both normally read a book, watching muggle tv. Sometimes Samantha plays videogames and Charlie watched her.

S: Sad (How do they cheer each other up?)

For Charlies: Samantha knows, when Charlie is sad he needs his time. She would cuddle him in the first way, but she wouldn´t leave him alone. She would sit just beside him and waits till he start talking. It give Charlie the knowledge that he is never alone and no matter what, Samantha will be there for him and waiting for him.

For Samantha: Samantha has a lot of reasons to be sad and she is glad to have Charlie by her side. He knows, that Samantha need a lot of attention when she is sad. He cuddles her gently and pets her head. She can press her face against his chest, so no one will see her crying.

T: Talking (What do they like to talk about?)

Darongs, Qudditch, their adventures, Samanthas students at Hogwarts, their family, friends and crazy (just for charlie) Muggle technology. That´s their favorite topics.

U: Unencumbered (What helps them relax?)

After a stressful day a bath ( cough couhg together cough cough) is just the right thing for both. After that both relaxing in their living room, Charlie talks about the Dragons he work with and Samantha plays guitar and listen to him.

V: Vaunt (What do they like to show off? What are they proud of?)

They are proud of each other and show it to the world (as Students at Hogwarts and Adults). But htey are also proud of their work and what they do.

W: Wedding (When, how, where do they propose?)

First - yes, they will marry. And Charlie is the one who ask. It´s a bizarre while the battle of hogwarts, where both were under attack. Charlie just say:” If we survived this, would you marry me?!” and Samantha will be like:” What?” but before she could say anythink, Charlie jumps out of cover and start his counter. And Samantha is still like:” WHAT?!” ( at this moment, both dont know´, that Tonks and Fred will not survive. Like some of their Friends too)

I have already Details about the Wedding in my head, but this will be too much. Let´s just say, they get a happy ending. Bill will be Charlies Best man and Carewyn Cromwell will be Samanthas Maid of Honor (if she say yes, looking at you @carewyncromwell XD) .

X: Xylophone (What’s their song?)

This is their song (its a old song, form someone how wins a germany casting show. Iits over 10 years ago, but I think it suits them and I still like the song.)

Y: Yes (Do they ever think of getting married/proposing?)

Yes. they will get married. Samantha will get a double name, but most of her students will call her “Professor O´Connell”, just a few people in this world will call her “Mrs. O´Connell-Weasley.

Z: Zebra (If they wanted a pet, what would they get?)

They will have an Owl and call her Freya. And they will call all the Dragons at the sanctuary their pets. XD
