The future of this Blog
Drama time my dear followers~ Lul.
I actually want to make this as undramatic as possible, so I'll keep it short and sweet.
I will no longer actively use this blog account. Why might someone ask themselves now? It's simple - I've always liked to keep things separate and my interests on Tumblr have now spread further than just the Wizarding World. And just renaming this blog when people are following me just for the HP content would feel wrong. There are other reasons, but I don't want to explain them further here.
But that doesn't change anything about my content! I will continue to have HPHM, HPHL and HPMA OCs, write fanart and fanfiction. But I won't publish that here anymore, I'll reblog at most if I think about it.
So if you are interested in staying in touch, seeing my content etc, you will find the following blogs about it:
https://www.tumblr.com/flareshin - My new Main Account for original Art, Internet and Nerd Stuff.
https://www.tumblr.com/genshinflare - my genshin account
https://www.tumblr.com/flareshogwarts - my new wizarding world account. (similar name, but I have way more OCs than back in the Days I made this account with only Samantha as Oc XD)
https://www.tumblr.com/finalfantasyflare - My Final Fantasy (XIV) Account
Thanks to this blog I have met some wonderful people and have had an amazing time since 2020. I am very grateful for that and therefore this goes specifically to these people:
You know I mean you. You have no idea how many times you've saved my butt mentally and how incredibly uplifting your words and feedback are to me. Anyone who says you can't find friends over the internet is lying, because you guys are incredible friends.
But I want to thank everyone here. I am grateful for every like, comment and reblog. I never expected people to be interested in my content at all, but here I felt like people really cared.
AGAIN: This blog will not be deleted and I will not stop my content. For various reasons, I'm only making a cut with this domain and will publish new content on the blogs mentioned immediately. I would be happy to see one or the other again. Otherwise I wish you all the best.
Have a lovley weekend!
(if you have any question etc, you are welcome to ask. But pls at the new blogs, because Idk when I will notice this on this blog. cough, now really. Baba!)

That was so intense!
The training was really awesome! I totally understand Lizzie's feelings, but so can Skye's. However, I'd love to know what's going on in Orion's mind.
Will it all work out like that? I'm also a bit worried about Lizzie's hand.

With the prospect of having to share practice sessions with Orion looming over her, Lizzie’s enthusiasm at returning to the pitch had rapidly faded.
The closer the beginning of her training drew, the more her excitement was dwindling, but her fury at Orion wasn’t the sole reason for it. Matthew didn’t grow tired of reminding her that he thought it was too early for her to take up flying again. He didn’t let the matter drop, and every time Lizzie winced at the pain in her wrist, he found himself confirmed.
“It’s only for her own sake that she wants you back, not yours. If Skye depends on you backing her captaincy, maybe she shouldn’t have become captain in the first place.”
Matthew and Skye not getting along wasn’t news, and usually, Lizzie would have jumped to Skye’s defence. But whatever her role in Orion’s unexpected reappearance had been, Lizzie was still mad at her for not giving her so much as a warning, so she remained quiet and let Matthew rant away.
Skye wasn’t the only thing Lizzie was keeping quiet about, however. After leaving Lewis Parkin’s farewell feast, Matthew wouldn’t stop asking questions about Orion, how he and Lizzie knew each other, and his abilities as a player. Lizzie felt sorry for brushing him off, but she couldn’t tell him any more than she already had.
In introducing Orion as nothing but an acquaintance from school, she had purposefully kept the truth of what had been between them from Matthew, and a whole week after Orion had so suddenly reappeared, Lizzie’s chance to correct herself had long since passed. If Matthew was irritated by her conciseness, it couldn’t be helped.
The thought of Orion wouldn’t leave her alone, and Lizzie wasn’t sure what to make it. It had been two years since she’d had any sign of life from him last, and now he was back, and in Wigtown of all places. His return was touching on wounds she had been convinced had finally healed; when she thought back on the day she had found his flat in Montrose empty and abandoned, however, there was still a painful sting inside her heart.
Not knowing why Orion had left everything behind without so much as a word had haunted Lizzie for months, but after many tears and sleepless nights, she had begrudgingly accepted it and moved on. She had met Matthew, and after a while, she had begun to heal. And just when she had believed that this chapter of her life had finally closed for good, Orion had decided to come back.
So now he was to be a member of her Quidditch team. The thought was absurd to Lizzie. There was so much hurt and anger still inside her that she couldn’t even look at him. How was this supposed to work?
When Lizzie woke on the first day of practice, her mood was bad. Plagued by fitful dreams of falling, she had barely slept and felt moody and exhausted. She freed herself from Matthew’s arms, brushed her hand over his hair, and quietly got dressed. As she packed her Quidditch bag for the first time in months, she had to breathe deeply to quell the nerves fluttering in her stomach.
By the time she arrived at the Quidditch pitch, the fluttery feeling in her gut had turned into a tight knot and Lizzie felt sick. The goalposts were gleaming in the pale morning sunlight, and she stopped to admire the sight. It was a new day and a new season, and she had worked hard to be a part of it; she could do this.
The thought comforted her, but only until she walked beneath the wooden perimeter of the pitch and out onto the lawn. Much to her chagrin, Orion was already there waiting for her. To Lizzie’s surprise, he wasn’t alone.
“What are you doing here?” Lizzie spoke directly to Skye, not acknowledging Orion’s presence with so much as a glance.
“I’m in charge of the team,” Skye shrugged in return. “Need to make sure you lot get back to form, don’t I?”
Lizzie gave her a dark look. “Can we get this over with? I’ve got better things to do than hang around and reminisce all day.”
Skye glanced between Lizzie and Orion, who was shrouding himself in silence. “Might be harder than I thought,” she muttered under her breath before clapping her hands together. “Let’s get cracking, shall we?”
Her words rang out over the Quidditch pitch. When no one moved, Lizzie raised her eyebrows at Skye, who, in turn, was looking at Orion; Orion himself was trying very hard to look anywhere but in Lizzie’s direction. Eventually, Lizzie cleared her throat.
“How about you tell us what you had in mind, Captain?”
It wasn’t lost on her how the way she was addressing Skye made Orion flinch. Skye rubbed the back of her neck, the colour rising to her face.
“Right, yeah. Both of you haven’t been flying for a while, so I’d say we do some warm-up rounds around the pitch.” Her face lit up. “Dunno about you, but I feel like a race. Like in the old times. Ready, set, go!”
Skye mounted her Comet 260 and took off while Orion and Lizzie scrambled to do the same. There was no time for Lizzie to feel nervous as she shot into the air on her Silverswift. As soon as her feet left the ground and the wind hit her face, it was as if all the pieces she had struggled to keep together over the last few months were falling back into place.
The feeling quickly faded when Skye sped up after the first round, and the months Lizzie had spent off her broomstick were beginning to show. She had been forced to remain on the ground, but Skye had finished the season in excellent form; there was no chance of keeping up with her.
Lizzie lay down flat on her broomstick to at least not let Orion overtake her. But her Silverswift was a sensitive broom, and her reactions to it not as finely tuned as Lizzie would have liked. She held on tightly as she took a turn with too much speed, and suddenly, she became aware of how much strain she was putting on her wrist.
On their third round - Skye was already way ahead - Orion slowly began gaining on her, and by the time they crossed the finish line, he had overtaken Lizzie by almost a broom’s length. Skye opened her mouth to comment on it but quickly reconsidered when she saw the look on Lizzie’s face.
They began their practice properly with some simple passes, and Lizzie grew increasingly frustrated as their training drew on. Skye may have been the captain, but she kept on looking for Orion’s approval on every exercise, as if they were still on the Hufflepuff team and this was the school pitch they had learned their basics on. But this wasn’t Hogwarts anymore, and things had changed. Lizzie and Skye were professional players now, and Orion had to learn the ropes from them, not the other way round.
“I get the Quaffle in this shooting range,” Lizzie snapped during an aiming exercise. Even though she had clearly indicated that she wanted the Quaffle, Orion had attempted the shot himself. “Pass it to me next time I tell you to. If our manoeuvres are too hard for you, that's your problem, not mine.”
“What are you waffling about, Jameson?” Skye interfered before Orion had the chance to reply. “It’s all good. Passing would’ve been nonsense.”
“It wouldn’t have.”
“Orion was in a much better position to score, and he made the goal alright. What’re you getting your broomstick in a twist about?”
“I shoot when we do this manoeuvre,” Lizzie hissed at her. “I always do. It’s one of my signature moves.”
“Yeah, a move he taught you if you’ve forgotten about that,” Skye shot back and pointed at Orion.
“Maybe he did, but I was the one to perfect it!”
“Would you listen to that?” Skye scoffed. “With your scoring record today, I’d come off my high Hippogriff if I were you.”
Orion stayed back while Lizzie and Skye were snapping at each other. When he flew between them and raised his hands in a placating manner, Lizzie again felt reminded of their time at school.
“It’s alright, Skye. The student has surpassed the teacher, and thus the roles have been reversed. Acknowledging our need to learn is only the first step towards wisdom. Lizzie may still lack efficiency, but she makes up for it with experience that my own doesn’t match.”
“Oh, just shut up, will you?” Lizzie snarled. The look she gave Orion was scalding. “You don’t even know what you’re talking about.”
“Jameson…” Skye’s voice had a warning ring to it, but Lizzie cut her off with an impatient gesture of her hand.
“What? It’s true! He barely made, what, one match for Montrose? Two?” Lizzie knew precisely how many times Orion had played for the Montrose Magpies, but she would rather cast a Tongue-Tying curse on herself than admit it. “He doesn’t know the business, and I will not have a bloody beginner lecture me on what my gameplay is lacking.”
“Offending you was never my intention, and I apologise if I have,” Orion said and looked away when he couldn’t hold Lizzie’s glare any longer. “But if we want to achieve harmony within our team -”
“There is no harmony between us whatsoever, and this isn’t our team either,” Lizzie interrupted him hotly. “You need to earn your place on the roster, as we all did. I wouldn’t let you play at all if you asked me.”
“Good thing no one’s asking you then,” Skye butted in, her green eyes flashing. “You don’t make the decisions here - I do. And I’ll not have you speak to another member of my team like this. Now back off. This is not your place.”
Lizzie looked between her best friend and her ex, pressing her lips together. “No,” she said through gritted teeth, “this isn’t my place at all.”
Whipping her broomstick around, Lizzie flew back to the ground. As soon as she landed, she stormed away, ripping her arm and shin protection off and throwing them into the grass next to her Silverswift. Her anger made her walk away from the pitch faster and faster until she was almost running.
She had been looking forward to this day - her moment back in the air - for months, but it had been nothing like she had imagined it. It hadn’t been the exhilarating return to the pitch Lizzie had made it out to be, and that was all Orion’s fault. He had come and ruined everything, and now even Skye was on his side.
Her feet took her from the Quidditch pitch to the training grounds where the annual tryouts for promising Hogwarts graduates were being held. Lizzie stopped to watch, her mind returning to her own tryouts two years prior. They had been on a different pitch and for a different team; part of a different life, really. A lot had changed since then.
Her presence didn’t go unnoticed for long. The whispering and pointing in Lizzie’s direction drew Ethan’s attention, who exchanged a few words with his scouts and then joined her at the sidelines.
“Shouldn’t you be at practice?”
Lizzie snorted. “We’re done with practice.”
“Are you now?”
“We are. I’m not doing this.” She shook her head. “You can’t be serious about Orion being on the team.”
“Pretty sure I am. Doesn’t look like he’s the one making problems.”
Lizzie’s anger suddenly flared up again. “What did you expect I was going to do? Jump into his arms and kiss your feet for bringing him back? He knows jack all about what it means to be a real Quidditch player. How is this supposed to work?”
Ethan looked her up and down sceptically. “If I’m not doolally, he’s only got one year less experience than you, so tone it down a notch. You ain’t a trouper in the business just yet, Lizzie. And from what I saw at his tryouts, Orion knows what he’s doing alright. Well enough to have taught you and Skye, at least.”
“That’s different.”
“It’s not. He’s got some real potential, and it’s ours to profit from.” Ethan’s features softened. “But that ain’t why you don’t want to work with him, is it, lass?”
“He broke my heart,” Lizzie finally managed to say. “How can you expect me to just forget that?”
“I know. After all, it was me you came running to after you’d thrown everything in the wind because of him. I gave you credit of trust that day, you’d better not forget that. I certainly won’t.”
Lizzie swallowed her protest, and Ethan nodded appreciatively.
“Now listen up. You’re not at school anymore, this ain’t the place for petty little love stories. This here is about the Wanderers. You’re a professional and a bloody good one at that, so I expect you to get a grip. Orion’s been out of business for a while, but so have you. With you, him and the rest of the lot, we now have a fine selection of Chasers for our line-up. Skye is the captain, so she’s set, but the rest of the spots are fair game. Replacing you with Yarwood was a workaround, but I’ve seen worse in my days and I only want the best players on my team. If you want to play for the Wanderers, you’ll have to fight for that privilege like everybody else.”
Lizzie’s anger had dwindled during Ethan’s speech, and she ducked her head when he was done. He was right; she had acted like an entitled kid straight out of school, not like the professional she had worked hard to become.
“I expect you to go and finish your training now,” Ethan added after a moment of silence, and Lizzie nodded.
“Yes, coach.”
“One word of advice,” Ethan said as Lizzie turned to go. “It’s the team that comes first, not the player. Always. You’d better not forget that.”

I want to serve Mr Kneil McKnully a Tea. And a snitch somehow......
Tumblr media
Meow? I mean… Hello, I’m Kneil McKnully. I’m a Kneazle.
If you’ve read KC’s stories, you might think you know the story of my family. You know nothing. Don’t get me wrong, my Katriona is a smart lady and she makes my Murphy happy, but she’s not a reliable narrator. Her journals tell half the story. Murphy’s longwinded rants only tell the other half. As luck would have it, I’m not as wordy as my best friend and my lack of thumbs makes typing this story a challenge; but I’m here to tell the real story.
You’ve heard about their mutual pining. Let me tell you about the mutual whining…
It was sunny August day in 1983. I was asleep in the light of a sunbeam when Murphy came into the pet shop at Diagon Alley. He liked my particularly fluffy ears. I liked his enthusiasm and gentle scratches. We spent the next week getting to know each other before we set off on our big adventure.
I can’t say which one of us was more scared at the train station when we made it to the crowded platform. After the initial chaos of the situation subsided, he let me out of my box when we settled into the train car. He confided in me that he felt different and kind of alone. He was without his mum for the first time in his life. I did what any fluffy animal is supposed to and nuzzled his cheek to make him laugh. His laughter was sincere for the first time that day. The sound attracted the attention of another nervous looking boy in a tattered brown robe. He looked different and alone too. He slid the door to the train car open and asked to join us. Suddenly, Murphy wasn’t scared anymore. He and the boy bonded almost instantly. I’d love to say the same about myself and Rigel the Rat. Still, smelly pet and all, Orion’s presence that day would change all our lives forever.
The two boys were thrilled to find they would be rooming together as Ravenclaw students that night. It was that first night when they first started strategizing on how to make their new house future quidditch champions. You know this part of the story. They would take the championship four years in a row. Quidditch was a way for both the boys to calm their nerves. In quidditch, they found a way to feel special, not just different. They found their skills worked well together and each became obsessive in their own way, working tirelessly to impact the team before they were even eligible to play. I didn’t think anything could make my best buddy happier than quidditch.
Nobody cared much for friendly house matches before Murphy turned them into major athletic events. Practice games felt like World Cup championships. My kiddo made quite a name for himself in his second year. I was proud of him for his hard work. His willingness to let me chase the snitch around was just an added bonus to being his Kneazle. It seemed like nothing in the world could distract him from his newfound passion. Until a pretty first-year student broke a curse.
One night, early in his third year, something changed in my boy. He came back to his room after class and immediately went to bed. I caught Orion’s rat by the scruff of his neck and offered him to Murphy. The rule was that I was not allowed to eat Rigel. As Murphy’s pet, friend, and protector, I was happy to offer up the rat as a treat. He declined, but it got him out of bed. He barely talked for a few days; nothing had ever had him shaken up so badly. I sat on his lap and purred but barely got a scratch or a treat all week. Orion picked me up, shared some kneazlenip, and noted that another ginger with big blue eyes had is attention. He promised that eventually, our buddy would be fine. I was outraged at the thought of him meeting another kneazle.
It all made sense later on when he asked me how to approach a girl. I didn’t know how to approach a girl and I didn’t want to share him with one, anyway. More nights alone with rat-faced Rigel in the dormitory? No thank you. In my frustration, I did what any good kneazle would do. I swatted his playbooks off of his bed, causing them to land at his feet. I still can’t believe he took that as dating advice. More than that, I can’t believe it worked.
Within a week, Murphy and KC were studying quidditch plays together so late into the night that they would fall asleep on the common room couch. It was nice to see him smile, but I wasn’t happy to see him petting any other ginger heads. I knew right away; my pal was hooked.
It took me a year to warm up to her. One day after a quidditch match in 1987, Murphy didn’t return to our room. A panicked Orion gave me dinner and scratches. He promised the pretty girl Murphy liked was at his side in the hospital wing and that our buddy would be ok. She stayed with him for three days after his accident with a rogue bludger. I’d never seen her look so sad or tired when she returned to the common room. Until my buddy came back from the hospital wing, I did what I could to take care of her. I tried grooming her, offering Rigel as a snack, bringing her a snitch to play with, she was happy enough to have my company. If I could talk, I’d have blabbed his feelings about her. She seemed nice. Sometimes, I would sleep at the foot of her bed. He had no idea.
My boy seemed sad all summer before going back to school. The black potion she was always drinking cheered him up and made him talk fast. Usually about her. I admit, I missed her, too.
I heard an eagle talking to a bird about a big dance that was coming up. I never understand why some animals can talk and I can’t. If there was ever a time I wished I could talk, it was around the time of the dance. He told me he skipped last year’s dance because she was not able to go as a third year. They spent the night of the dance studying and talking together. She’s ready this year, she told me she hoped he would ask. He told me he was afraid of asking. He needed lots of my purrs and attention the week before. Sadly enough, she needed me just as much in the weeks after. She went to the dance with another boy. She says he’s brave and loves animals. This animal doesn’t approve.
Every day for a year, Murphy would tell me how happy she looked now that she had a proper boyfriend, and every night for the same year, I would sneak into her room for scratches, treats, and pets. Partly, to cheer her up. She did a good job pretending to be happy. Mostly, because I liked all the nice things she would say about my pal. I didn’t need a reminder of how lucky I was to be Murphy’s kneazle, but she reminded me nightly.
I’ll never forget the night Orion and I found my boy and his girl asleep together on the common room couch. They were cuddled closer than I’d ever seen them before. Surrounded by chocolate frog wrappers, their faces teary but smiling. Orion picked me up and took me back to the boy’s dormitory, humming about the irresistibility of fiery red hair. Within a week, my girl and my boy were really in love. I was happy to support the budding romance Until they started exchanging love notes by pinning them to my collar. I am not an owl, nor carrier pigeon, and should not be used as such. Rude.
I spent the summer missing KC like crazy, though not nearly as much as my best pal did. She sent us a picture of her with her new Kneazle friend. Her name is Knatalie and I couldn’t wait to meet her. Murphy and I spent a lot of that summer staring at their picture in anticipation of going back to school for one last year. They have the same big blue eyes.
That last year was the best and worst of all that a love story has to offer. I’m no prude, but I saw things between those two that no beast, fantastic or otherwise, should ever have to see. The benefit to Murph’s distraction was getting to know Knatalie. Eventually, the fun was over, and KC got very sad when her friend went away. It took all of us, Knatalie, Murphy, and me to help her though it. I don’t understand the rules of human society. KC wouldn’t change her name to McNully for a few more years, but that was the year the four of us really became a family.
Knatalie and I spent the whole summer together at Murphy’s cottage while he and KC traveled. They took advantage of every last day together before they would have to be apart for a year. He came back with a beautiful ring that he kept hidden from her, and matching collars for Knatalie and me.
A few ladies who worked with Murphy at the newspaper liked to stop by our new place in London. He is a nice guy, but completely oblivious to their intentions. I did him a favor and peed on a girl named Michelle’s shoes. He gave me extra treats that night. Six months later, he went to visit KC at school. He promised to bring me a surprise. I was hoping it was tasty little Rigel. I was pleasantly surprised to find Knatalie leap out of his arms. The three of us spent the next few months awaiting KC’s return to the family.
KC didn’t come to live with for another two years after she promised she would. We missed her terribly, but she came back strong, happy, and tan from playing quidditch.  Most importantly, after her very last game. She came back with two new rings. A championship ring and a wedding ring. It wasn’t quite as impressive as the matching collars Knatalie and I had, but humans will be humans and would rather wear rocks on their hands. My best pal finally got his best girl forever.
KC wasn’t the only new addition to the McNully family that year. I didn’t think there could ever love a girl as much as I loved my Knatalie. Until I saw Knellie.  She was the cutest knitten and I am so proud to be her dad.
My growing family stayed home at the cottage in Kenmare while Murphy and KC stayed with her dad in the city. Knatalie and I were good for Nanna and helped her tend to the people who would visit seeking her care after the war. It was a sad time for everyone in the community. For Knatalie and me, it was one of the happiest. Knathaniel was born just before the war ended. My guy and his girl were surprised with a brand new knitten to celebrate their return to Kenmare.
Muphy has been hard at work since his retirement from commentary. He spends long hours at the castle ruins down the hill from the new house. He and Katriona are building a summer camp to teach quidditch to kids before they start their formal training at school.
The first summer of the camp was a success. I met all the new students and got lots of treats. One student had a crup pup to help him through his daily routine, another had a kneazle who could detect when she felt ill. I loved making these great new fuzz friends and enjoyed watching them work. It was a wonderful surprise to find we kneazles are good for more than just cuddling and setting such a terribly biased story straight.
After a few years for teaching quidditch, my girl KC got sick and sleepy. Knatalie and KC spent most of their day together, sleeping and coughing up hairballs. KC felt much better after the kiddens arrived. Kiddens? I presume that’s what to call human knittens? Shortly after, Knatalie and I had twins of our own, Knancy and Kned. The estate had never seemed so full and lively.
It’s just the four of us again, as Kned and Knancy have accompanied Gwen and Amari to school. Knellie and Knathaneil are working for kids who attended the summer camp. Knellie’s an assistant to a boy with poor vision. Knathaniel monitors his girl for oncoming seizures brought on by an irreversible spell. I’m a proud dad.
I’m a proud pet, too. I tease them for the wait, but I’m proud of my buddy Murphy for making it all come together. It wasn’t always easy, and if I talked, I would tease him for his oblivious mistakes all day, but he finally got the story he deserved.

How I love that German has a rather long word for ‘car insurance’ but merely three letters for ‘existential despair and the meaninglessness of life’.

Omg 14. I smell fluff Potential. PHIL!!!! I FOUND SECRET PATCH NOTES!!!!
7, 8 and 14 for Scarlett!
And 19 for Scarlett and Talia?
Coming right up <3
7. What was the most difficult thing about this OC?
Her freaking attitude, she gives me sass believe it or not and makes her own rules. She’s ruthless, doesn’t consider people’s feelings until way late, swears, doesn’t think of the consequences of her actions, is a trouble maker, rule breaker, conduct out the freaking window.
Also her lack of being able to handle her own emotions, horror.
8. What do you like most about this OC?
Her “no go’ attitude despite how difficult it is. She is her own person, knows she’s mean and a bitch and owns it fully. It takes a different kind of special to do that.
14. Name a fact about this OC that you have not written before.
She cannot be in the cold for too long, like going skiing for example, her hands break out in a sort of rash from the cold. She is like a cat loves the warmth and sleep.
19. What do these OCs have in common?
Ahahahahahaahhahaha, their bitchy attitude.
however there is different, while both own it, Talia can back it up fully. Scarlett not so much if things get violent.

OCs question. Hel and Andrew number 16 and 18. Those are interesting.
My sweet Pizza princess - you opened the box of Pandora with this and I love you for that.
So let's go.
16. What would an argument between the OCs look like and what would be the reason?
Andrew and Hel are not just Siblings, they are also twins, stubborn, proud and have a big ego. So the list of reasons why they could fit seems endless. Especially because Hel gets angry when she's worried about someone and they both see each other's weaknesses and mostly just want to help. So their fights are loud. It is also not uncommon for furniture to be destroyed. But there a few things both never would say to each other. This is a line they never crossed.
18. Which of the OCs is stronger?
This is an interessting ask! Both are trained Vampires and worked as bounty hunters for years, so but are strong. But when it comes to sheer physical strength, Andrew is an advantage. Hel trained to be faster, but if Andrew would catch her for some reason, she had no Chance. There are only a few Vampires who could catch up with Andrews strenght. One of them is Matthew if he loses controll.
