after THREE reminders over a couple of days I did in fact do the thing

I had a lisa frank sticker book I bought at dollar tree like a million years ago so I dug it out and stickered it up finally

There was once a girl who loved gloves

She had a large variety

She had gloves for winter and gloves for summer

For working and for playing

Gloves for sleeping, eating, and showering

Gloves for reading, sewing, and cooking

And even a pair for paragliding

Those hands covered by cloth

Could do most anything

She could do the most outrageous of coin tricks, the most detailed drawing, and the smallest of stitches.

Til one day a friend of hers remarked

That her gloves she was never without

This fact lingered and spread

And one day her friends decided

That they simply must see the hands

That lay underneath those gloves

Many a plot failed, til one day a man grew impatient

And simply ripped the gloves off

Only to stumble back in horror

At what he had unveiled

For her hands had not a stitch of skin

Rotting flesh was what they saw

With glimpses of bone at the joints

And as they stared a maggot crawled out

All gathered looked to the girl for answers

Though answers was not what they got

As the girl’s face had changed into something long dead

Buried for many years

As they watched the girl crumbled

Bone turning to dust

Til all that remained of that strange little girl

Was a pair of silken gloves.
