The Devil's Bride
Ryōmen Sukuna
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Warning!! : Mentions of death/killing, forced marriage, and basically Sukuna being an asshole and having no respect for reader.
Summary : After Sukuna reclaims his throne and becomes known as the King of Curses once again, he decides on bringing forth a Queen. You
A/N : I somewhat switch pov's during this so don't get confused. Part 2 coming soon!!
Tumblr media
Days have passed since Sukuna has once reclaimed his throne. Yet, he seems to be bored out of his mind. There's nothing to occupy him from his apathy.
Sure, he has countless people at his feet he can order to do as he pleases. But what's the fun in that? He needs something exciting to happen. Something to fill his empty pit of boredom.
He contemplates on whether or not he should start a war, find more slaves soldiers to do his bids, or perhaps even go on a killing spree somewhere random in this dark, dark world. Better yet— why not just kill everyone??
Well, not yet at least.
His teeth grind together and his fists clench in annoyance to this endless pit of nothing he can't seem to shake off.
But just before he rips someone's eyes out with his bare nails from frustration, he forges an idea. And with that idea, comes a no-good smirk spreading across his face.
What does every king have in every fairytale, movie, and book? That's correct. A Queen.
"You." His thundering voice reaches the ears of a guard who could be approximately 52ft ahead of him. "Come here." he motions with his fingers.
Almost immediately, the soldier makes his way up the steps and to the throne of his King. "Yes, my Lord?"
Sukuna makes a simple face of boredom, supporting his head with a propped up fist. "Gather 5 of my best soldiers and find me my Queen." his eyes squint, which silently says 'Hurry it up.'
And without another word, the guard takes off to seek out to the Kings orders.
Tumblr media
Not many people could get in the mind of Ryōmen Sukuna. To understand what goes on in that so called empty mind of his is mildly impossible. But, taking a wild guess, the soldier puts together things the King takes an interest in.
Power, Control, and Cruelty.
To find a Queen fit to the Kings likings, she must be innocent. A girl who can't stand up for herself, but when she attempts to, she cowards out.
A girl who needs someone to make the decisions for her. But also a girl who has a little spark in her soul. A spark that can carry her to victory no matter the battle.
This shall be the woman who Sukuna finds quite delightful.
The next step was finding a girl who fits this description.
While this soldier is pondering off into space, he almost forgets about his group of men. Which, he's surprised to see catch up to him with a younger looking woman.
"P-Please!! Let me go!" she sobs, loud enough the birds in the trees fly away and flee from the scene.
Tears flow down her cheeks and onto the dirt. Her clothes are scrunched up and dirty, most likely from how roughly his men handled her. And her breathing is so uneven, she might just pass out.
"I swear I'll never tell a soul—" hic! ",if you just let me go!"
There's two men on each side of her, both practically dragging her through the ground. "We found her out here by herself. She seems to be lost." The one on the left inquires.
Once she's dragged to be met face to face with the lead soldier, he grins.
She's a mess. Forehead so sweaty strands of her hair stick to it. Panting so rapidly, she might use up all the air she has left in her lungs.
The soldier takes one last look at the girl, eyes scanning her over, just to analyze how fit she is to take the role as Sukuna's Queen.
"What do you want for me?! Why– why are you doing this!" the girl begs to know any sort of information. Anything to get a grasp on herself.
No one responds.
She looks to her sides, expecting any kind of answer. But is instead met with the men completely ignoring her.
"She'll do perfectly."
Tumblr media
Heavy footsteps echo throughout your head, which by now has been ruined with a horrible headache. Lucky you.
It's hard to tell how long you've been out for. If they've hurt you, or if you've somehow died and awoken in the after life.
The only thing you're sure of is how much pain is coursing through your body. It's to the point you're numb all over and you can barely lift your head up. Barely lift a finger for that matter.
"My lord." A familiar voice rings in your ear and back out. "Your Queen." Another one seems to say in-front of you.
In a desperate attempt to figure out what the hell is happening, you weakly lift your head, blinking a couple of times to regain your focus.
Your vision still remains slightly blurry, but you're only able to make out a set of stairs. Stairs that lead to what seems to be a throne. And in that throne, sits a man.
As you concentrate on this mysterious man, your vision slowly begins to recover.
He has spiky pink hair, long black nails, two eyes on one side, with a plated set of 2 more next to it, and 4 arms? His chiseled shirtless body seems to be tattooed with stripes and dots on each of his shoulders. No, no, this can't be right.
"Bring her here." his voice practically echoes into the air.
Your eyes widen to this sudden command, and you wiggle your arms, attempting to loosen yourself of the men who have you a strict hold over you.
Though it seems to not work, because the men ignore you and continue to their orders. Step by step, the men take you to who appears to be the lead of this whole situation. The man who looks to be the devil himself.
In protest, you kick your feet a little, trying to gain balance and hopefully escape wherever you've been brought to.
But before you can successfully break away, it's too late.
You're met with the horrifying (but somewhat sexy) face of the man who has caused you all of this misery. You scowl at him, which in return earns you a small look of satisfaction.
Disgusting.
His men hold you up to him like a piece of meat, dangling you in-front of his nose as if he was meant to devour you with one swift bite.
His eyes scan up and down your figure. Almost like he's purposely invading your personal space. "Pretty little thing, aren't you?" his words taunt you in a sense you'd never thought you'd feel.
You avert your eyes from his. Turning your head away so he's only in view of your cheek. You're mentally unable to face him.
The prideful moment you had was quickly interrupted. With one swift move of his arm, his hand snatches your chin and snaps you back so you can looking him eye to eye. "Did I say you could look away?" he growls.
His sharp nails press into your skin, making you wince. With how tight his grip is on you, it feels like your skin might tear.
His brows scrunch together lightly as his eyes lock with yours.
"I-"
"Silence." he's quick to cut you off.
Your mouth closes shut almost instantly, and your head drops once he releases you from his grasp. Pathetic.
Everything hurts so much. Your head, your body, and apparently your voice now too.
Small whispers spread around you. From one person to another, you can hear all sorts of comments the strange people are making about you.
If the men holding you up right now were to let go of you, you're sure you would collapse and never get back up again. Fall into an endless abyss and never awaken.
"Take her to the cellar. I shall deal with her later." he orders.
You groan a little when the men tighten their arms around yours. But your vision fades back to nothing as they take you away.
Tumblr media
It's been hours.
Hours of crying, screaming, and wishing upon your own death. To end this confusing mess that has somehow been brought upon to you.
You're curled up in the corner of the cell, cold walls and bars keeping you away from whatever source of life might be out there.
It almost pitch black in the haunting cellar. The only things in sight is your arms, which wrap around your legs to pull yourself into a tight ball.
Everything feels dirty. You feel dirty.
Small droplets of damp moisture fall from the ceiling and hit the rough concrete. Your skin is hot, tingling up your bones to the point you might overheat.
Your mouth is dry, deprived from the lack of water you've had in the past week or so.
Before you were captured, you were on the run from home, escaping the endless chains of torment your parents had put you through.
It might have been a stupid decision, especially since you had no where to go at the time, but it had to happen. Your life wasn't meant to be lived like that, and neither was it for this life.
Your eyes close shut, mind struggling to block out the unbearable sound of water meeting cold, hard, ground. It itches down your skin with every fall.
Abruptly, the creak of a wooden door captures your attention quickly. Lifting your head up out of curiosity to see who's there.
"H-Hello..?" You call out, but it seems useless since no one replies anyways. Though you know someone has to be there. The evidence of lingering footsteps tells enough.
Seconds pass by to what seems to be an eternity before the footsteps stop in-front of your cage cell.
Everything, including the man in-front of you, seems so unreal.
He doesn't say anything, just stares down at you as if you were just some dirt on the floor.
"What do you want from me!" You shout at him, but it appears to get you no answer except a irritating frown.
Your teeth are gritted together, and it take everything out of you to not pounce at him. Well, not like you have the strength or energy to do so anyways.
He rests his bottom two arms on his hip, and crosses his other two over his bare chest. "Y'know, you're starting to piss me off."
A moment of silence rests between the two of you before he finally speaks up again.
"What's your name?" it's more of a demand than a question, but you don't care. You don't owe him anything.
And once again, another pass of silence flows by.
He raises a brow, giving you another chance to answer. But, it seems you wont of any use for the time being.
"Name's Sukuna, but you can call me your King."
His words catch you by surprise, lifting your eyes up in a shockingly manner. "W-What..?" you have to confirm what he just said was actually him and not just an imaginary voice in your head.
He let's out a huff, shaking his head to your stupidity. "Do you know why you were brought here?"
Well obviously not, or else you wouldn't have been taken aback to his statement. "No, I don't."
"You were brought here to stand beside me as I rule over this.. kingdom of mine."
And just like that, his words crash and bring down your whole life. Everything you've been through, fought for, and accomplished are all worth nothing. It was all useless.
"No, I refuse–"
A hand slams down on the bars, causing you to flinch. "I don't remember asking how you felt, did I?"
Immediately, you go quiet. The hurtful beating of heart being the only sound audible as he glares down at you from behind the bars.
"Tomorrow shall be the wedding. I'll have my men bring you to me first thing in the morning."
Leaving you no time to protest, question, or even give him a snarky reply, he disappears.
You're left all alone, mind now pounding with how quick this is all happening. You have no say in anything, it seems.
Nothing seems to matter when you feel your eyes flutter close. Too exhausted to reject this rest, you fall asleep.

Pairing: Cabernet x female reader (chief)
Warnings: NSFW, strap-on, mommy kink (reader is an innocent coward)
MDNI
"Put the shackles on me. I choose to become a sinner in thrall to your power. From now on, I'll be forever in your command." The two of you exchanged promises, she won't feed on any souls, other than yours and she won't try to do any harm to others but you must not push her away, ever.
"That's not enough to satisfy me..." Cabernet always tells you whenever you give her those innocent and soft kisses. Sometimes she'd tease and lick your lips and it stops with that, she'll let you go after because she understands that you're not experienced enough.
But the past few days, Cabernet has been clingy and needy, too much even. She'd cling on you while walking, she would bite your ear just to get your attention and when she does she'll kiss your lips, it has been going on for days so you wanted to ask her what's wrong but she just brought you to her room and locked it.
"Come here.. I have a gift for you." Cabernet says seductively while gesturing you to come close. She opened a box and your eyes widen at the sight of various sex toys.
"What's wrong, first time seeing these?" Cabernet chuckled softly, she suddenly pulled a huge strap on and gave it to you. "I want you to use that on me.. can you do that, hm?" She says while caressing your hair gently with a seductive smile.
"I've never used anything like this, so I don't know how to–" you tried to back out but she hugged your head, pushing her breasts against your face... making you smell the faint fragrance of tropical fruit on her body. "Chief.. you promised me, don't tell me you're not the type to keep your promises..?" Cabernet purrs right into your ear, her fingers playing with the strands of your hair making you feel shivers down your spine.
"I'm keeping my word, I'm not feeding on any souls.. just yours." Cabernet eyes glow as she pulls away from the hug just to cup your cheeks in her hands, staring at your eyes and you swear you feel like you're being pulled by her, she takes your breath away. You nod in agreement and that made her smile warmly.
"Good.. let me help you wear that." Her hands were gentle, she helped you wear it properly and she steps back to admire you. "You look so beautiful, I can't wait to devour you and be devoured by you." With that, Cabernet removed her tight black dress. She stepped out of it before laying down on the bed, spreading her legs for you with an amused smile. You saw how wet she is, it's already dripping down her thighs, making you gulp thickly.
"Come, let us devour each other." The moment Cabernet opened her arms, your body responded automatically.. you crawled towards her and she quickly wrapped her legs around your waist.
"I'm wet enough, no need to waste time getting me ready. Just get wild and ravage me." Cabernet whispered, you noticed her grinding against your cock while her hands are touching her own breasts.
Cabernet grabbed your cock and guided it towards her dripping entrance so all you have to do is put it in, which you did.. slowly and carefully. Cabernet holds onto the sheets as she sighs, looking at you with a lustful gaze. "You're too soft.. and gentle.. I'm so hungry for you." Cabernet wrapped her legs around your waist tighter, using the heel of her foot to push you towards herself so you can bury the whole length of your cock into her. She let out a soft moan of pleasure as she moves her hips, her hands gripping tightly on your waist.
"Move, chief.. come on." Cabernet pulled your head down to kiss your lips deeply, her tongue pushing inside almost forcefully. Despite being your first time, you find your hips moving on their own and your hands are grabbing Cabernet's hips tightly.
Cabernet moaned into the kiss as she nibbles on your lips before pulling away. "Chief.. what a good girl, just like that. Keep going." You nod in response as you keep thrusting into her tight heat, her hands grabbed you down.. her hands wrapping around your neck possessively while her legs locked around you tightly but she gives you enough space to move. You kept thrusting and moving your hips in a fast rhythm while her moans get louder and louder in each thrusts.
"Fu..ck.. you're so cute, doing your best like that.." Cabernet whispers in between her moans until you felt her squeezing you inside her so tightly and then it happened.. she came hard around your cock with a long and loud moan that could be heard by other Sinners outside, you kept pumping inside her to prolong her orgasm.
"Are you okay..?" You asked her softly as you slow down. She pants for air for a few seconds before she pushed you off her and then down the bed. She quickly straddled your hips and she lowers herself on your cock before riding you fast and hard like an animal in heat.
"Make mommy feel good and move your hips..!" Cabernet leans down to kiss you deeply, her tongue exploring every corner of your mouth making you whimper while she's clinging onto you so tightly and her hips are moving so fast. "You're my good girl, aren't you? You're mine to devour." She added with a wicked smile, as if something inside her awakened.
She kept riding you for hours as you struggle to match her pace but she didn't seem to mind as long as she can feel good. Cabernet kept kissing your lips so deeply as if she's sucking your soul while whispering sweet praises against your lips. Every time she came, there's only one word she says after she calmed down..

Choleric
────────────────────────────
Just the attitude of the Titans to your temperament.
Let me remind you: Choleric is active, impatient and hot-tempered extroverts.
────────────────────────────
Godzilla
Tumblr media
* Being a serious and calm creature, Kaiju is not used to your persona. He was amazed at your courage in front of him.
* He liked your extroversion to some extent. Unlike him as a loner, you literally communicated with every creature in your path. But the best quality he has revealed is to be a Leader.
You literally managed to chase away the skullsaurs that interfered with him, of course, it was not without escape, but still.
A Brave Man.
* Wanted to chase you away, but you were too persistent.
*You are now his Watchdog.
* To be Choleric is to be aggressive to some degree. To be honest, it sometimes amuses him. If you were a Titan, you'd definitely start fighting him to the end. But I like to watch how some little guy tries to move the tip of his tail and shouts something very bad at him.
* Thankful for keeping the raging gulls away from his dorsal plates while he swims. Will wait for the moment when you banish the Monarch from his eyes.
Mothra/Mosura
Tumblr media
* She likes your activity and perseverance. You're eager to learn anything and everything that Mothra is amused about. But your short temper . . .
* It's not that Mothra is annoyed, she's worried about you. After all, the argument gets out of control at some point.
Your impatience may be misplaced somewhere, and the Titan tries to calm you down so that there are no unnecessary problems.
* Your irritability frightens her.
Even though it's several thousand times bigger than you.
* Sometimes he presses you to his fur, hoping that you will calm down and stop driving anger to the whole world.
* Tries not to glow too much at the sight of you. Since there was a moment where you accidentally ordered her to turn off her flashlight out of annoyance, to which Mothra choked.
I think she'll give you a lecture.
* She also appreciates your leadership skills.
Rodan
Tumblr media
* Someone, help him.
* I have never met such a person as you in my life. No, of course he is. Partially. But this Titan is compared to you, forgive me, Bug. Your audacity amused him. Until you started throwing rocks at his beak and eyes, to which the Titan was ready to go back to the volcano and anywhere else from you.
* His ego has been suppressed since that time. You're not afraid of him.
And now he thinks: Are you stupid or are you really driven by something?
* He was surprised when he found out that you wanted to be friends with him. Okay, instilling fear throughout the city wasn't good, he needed communication. Of course, your character is not great, but at some moments he is ready to laugh at you heartily. Especially when you are the one who gets into trouble.
* And now let's forget about aggression, let's remember about Leadership qualities:
"Wake Up, Silly Bird"
"Thank you so much for this morning, kind little creature," ─ grunts Rodan as he emerges from his warm nest.
* No, he sometimes likes your mindset to boss others around. Although, he has frequent flashbacks about it.
King Ghidorah
Tumblr media
* Very brave. Very brave.
* Three heads could have hit you to certain death right away, but something caught on them. Your aggression was wonderful, of course it's a pity to hear it from a person.
* Throwing sticks and anything else you can get your hands on when he literally saved your life for five minutes.
Only these five minutes still last for some reason.
* Okay, it them off, but it's still funny. A brave little king. Ghidorah kept you as a pet, but only because you weren't a coward.
* Ichi is proud of your anger at other creatures. He likes the way you command them.
Ni has the same relationship to you as Ichi, but is only watching for fun.
San is a little disturbed by your behavior, believing you to resemble his brother Ichi.
*Sometimes they deliberately bring you into conflict (mostly Ni) to laugh at your face.
Although, in the absence of an instinct for self-preservation, you give them a savory response, to which the Titan begins to retreat.
* Humans and other Kaiju find both of you insufferable. Godzilla is even willing to ask people to take you away from there, as Ghidorah's yells from another argument can be heard even in his nest.
King kong
Tumblr media
* You didn't look like Jia. Jia is calm and understanding, and you are like a tomboy, irritated about everything. He still thinks about how his little human friend made friends with you.
* Jia introduced you as a good person, but with a strong character that you just have to accept. Kong had expected anything but this. Although he appreciated the ability to command others. You'd be good at managing your own tribe, if you had one. But given the Skullsaurs that are on the run all over the island from you, humans would have joined them themselves. Your aggression was out of bounds.
* Kong sometimes worries about your recklessness. You're not someone who sits still like Jia. You're always going somewhere. And he doesn't understand what you need. And Jia, who is used to all this, just says to calm down.
* Kong has never been in conflict with you. He tries to stay on the edge of patience.
The truth is trying..
He likes that enthusiasm, but please stop. Otherwise, he'll put you in this flying object that people use.

Wherefore Art Thou My(stery) Lady
When a failed attempt to let Chat Noir down easy ends with Ladybug learning his name, she does what any lovesick teenager would do: teases him mercilessly. Ch 1
Chapter Two
Plagg wasn't very encouraging when Adrien flopped onto the bed after patrol.
“What do you think?” Adrien asked him as he handed over a wedge of cheese.
“Eh,” Plagg said through a full mouth. One crumb escaped and bounced onto the carpet. “She'll probably say something about it the next time you see her. Nothing you can do about it until then.”
“That was helpful,” he said as sarcastically as he could.
“You're very welcome! I'm glad you finally appreciate all I do for you.”
Adrien climbed into bed, still fully dressed, and pulled the blankets over his head. Plagg's reaction was a good sign, right? If Ladybug was about to turn him down again, Plagg would try to comfort him, so that meant her reaction had been a good thing? Right? Or maybe Plagg didn't know either. Adrien buried his head beneath his pillow and tried, unsuccessfully, to get some sleep.
He tossed and turned as bright moonlight poured in through his windows. He was too restless to sleep. Not knowing was driving him crazy. Twice he got up, determined to at least run another patrol if he was going to be awake anyway. But Plagg hid both times, so there was nothing he could do except crawl back under his covers and wait for the sleep that wouldn't come.
When he got out his phone to check the time, Plagg grumbled loudly about the light from where he was perched on Adrien's pillow and threatened to hide again. Two hours. He'd been home for two hours already. What was Ladybug doing? Was she sleeping peacefully? Was she planning how she was going to let him down easily?
He was about to put the phone away when he got a text message from an unfamiliar number.
??? – I can't believe this! It's so obvious!
That sounded like the middle of someone’s conversation.
Adrien – I think you have the wrong number. ??? – Sorry, Adrien. I hope I'm not waking you up, but I really have to talk to you.
Okay, so it was the right number. This was hopefully someone he knew. But why didn't he have their phone number if they had his?
Adrien – Okay... Who is this? What's obvious? ??? – That you're Adrien! I can't believe I didn't see it before!  ??? – Or should I say Ch--
His heart flipped. Someone knew his secret. They were going to blackmail him, and he was the perfect target.
??? – Wait. Are you alone? There's no one reading over your shoulder, right? Adrien – Who is this? ??? – Wait.  ??? – Don't you have me in your contacts already? Adrien – Noooo?
“Plagg,” he hissed. Plagg didn’t respond, still fast asleep. His mind was racing. He should know who this was, which was a good sign. And they didn’t want to leak his identity, at least not immediately. That– that was also a good sign, right? His hands were sweaty on his phone from clutching it so hard.
Adrien – Who are you? ??? – Wow.  ??? – I had to psych myself up all night for this stupid text.  ??? – And I didn't even manage to give you my secret identity like I'd planned on.
There was a gasp, and it took him a second to realize it was his. Secret identity? It couldn't be.
??? – That's what happens when I take the coward's way! I could have just come over. ??? – But I had it all planned out. You’d know I knew who you were, and my real name would be right there in your contacts, and I wouldn’t have to confess anything to your face.  ??? – It was going to be great, Adrien!
Another three dots appeared. She wasn’t done talking to him yet.
??? – I probably kept you up worrying. I'm sorry. I should have said something immediately. ??? – I'm probably not making sense right now either. Sorry.
The messages flashed across the screen at an impressive speed. Adrien didn't even try to answer them. Was that really Ladybug? It had to be. And she knew who he was, which meant that he'd really been the “other” boy after all. The dread he’d felt all night was replaced with tingling anticipation.
He had to check.
Adrien – My Lady? ??? – Hey, Kitty. ??? – ❤️
“Plagg!” he yelled. That got the kwami’s attention.
“Seriously, kid? I'm trying to sleep!”
“Look! Look look look! She loves me!” He thrust the phone in the kwami's face, but Plagg howled and flew off, yelling something about teenagers and idiots.
Adrien – I love you! So who are you really?!
He added a name to her contact while he waited for her response. The despair that had been pressing on him for days had completely evaporated in seconds. He wasn't even tired anymore. He was the boy!
Before she was able to type a response, he’d changed her contact name. Her response left him baffled.
My Lady – … My Lady – …
He stared at the two ellipses. Maybe… he shouldn’t have asked her for her name so quickly. Was she too nervous to tell him? Did she not want to at all?
Adrien – What’s wrong? My Lady – You don't know who I am yet. Hmmm... Adrien – Ladybug? My Lady – There are possibilities now. Adrien – Yeah, like the possibility of me asking you out. Probability, 100%. What do you say? My Lady – I was talking about the possibility of me teasing you. Probability, 200%.  My Lady – Also, yes. I would love to! Adrien – Really?!
He wasn't entirely sure he was awake at this point. It seemed much more likely that he'd fallen asleep and was having a very strange dream in which Ladybug was admitting her feelings for him. (It wouldn't have been the first time he'd had one, but they’d never involved texting before.)
The rest of the house was dark and quiet, but his phone screen lit up again.
My Lady – Really! But– Adrien – !!! My Lady – You have to guess who I am first. Adrien – That's not fair! My Lady – :p  My Lady – I'm someone you know from school. There's your only hint. Good night! My Lady – And for the record, I love you too.
She didn't text again. (If this wasn’t a dream and that message was still on his phone in the morning, he was going to print it out and frame it.)
He read through the whole conversation once again. There was one hint that she hadn't realized she'd given him. They were close enough to have each other's phone numbers, and close enough that she was surprised he didn't have hers. He was supposed to have it already.
She was so much closer than he'd ever realized.
Ch 3
---
Author’s note: It is important for you to know that I started this story years and years ago. Like, season one or two is when I had the idea. She got the phone number from Alya, but we didn’t see her talking on the phone with Adrien until after I started writing. So she had his number but he didn’t have hers!

Warnings: Just angst. Maybe some self loathe here and there
Thank you Anon for submitting your request. I hope i did you justice and that you enjoy it! I kinda made up the ending since i didnt know if you wanted to be like a fluff end or still angst? So perhaps angst
You had been having a normal day. It was more of the usual Training and trying to form your ways into the life at the sea.
And you hadn't meant for yourself to eavesdrop. It just happened. You had the best relationship with Lo'ak and you thought it was also returned. Two trouble makers trying to make sense in the hierarchy that was your family.
"I just dont get it Tsireya. Its just i do care about Y/n i do. But i would like some time for myself. Its just annoying having to constantly have her loom over me."
"Lo'ak.."
"I just wish sometimes that i could tell her to leave me alone. But she'll stick to me like an unwanted curse"
You could feel the lump on your throat form. Breathing felt painful and you hadn't known why. Was it the hurt or the betrayal? You couldn't really tell.
"But you dont mean that"
"i do! I do Care about my family as i am sure everyone else does! But its annoying to have a constant shadow behind me. Sometimes i wish that she ..she wasn't my sister"
"Lo'ak!"
You didnt even bother to hear the rest. Couldn't even dare. You were hurt. Possibly more to know that this is how Lo'ak felt. And how long exactly? How long had he been coward enough not to tell you face to face. You just couldn't do it. You wouldn't do it. And you were unaware of the pair of eyes that watched you go.

If Lo'ak had noticed your absence. He hadn't voiced it. You had done your best to avoid being around him as much as possible. And it had been noticeable to the others.
To anyone that had eyes and ears. Your once upbeat but brash personality had dimmed. You avoided Lo'ak as much as possibly taking the time to hang with Neteyam or even Kiri. It had been nice to, really. You didnt know them as much as you knew Lo'ak but even they knew that something was up. The two of you were trouble one and two.
So The lack of the two being in 'good' speaking terms was the biggest thing to have happened since Jake called himself Toruk Makto
"What is wrong?" you would constantly hear Neteyam ask you and yet you brushed him off.
Everything was perfectly fine. It had to be. So you wouldn't be too much of an annoyance.
"How the mighty have fallen"
You dreaded that voice. You hadn't exactly known that Ao'nung had heard Lo'ak's complaints but he did. And he was like a plague repeating the same stuff over and over again.
"Ao'nung. What ever do you mean?" Neteyam would unfortunately ask before you can divert attention from him.
"Talking about Y/n here. Once not long ago would have bitten my head off and now look at her"
He was right. Without Lo'ak to bounce off of. You no longer had any bite to your threats.
"This little nuisance Has really fallen"
"Do not call her that"
"oh but it wasn't me who did. Now was it Y/n?"
You wanted to gag. Wanted to have Eywa take you now and never let you see the light of day.
"no...it wasn't"
Neteyam just watched your face drop. Finally piecing it together. "oh ill go talk to him"
"no! i dont want that Neteyam. I dont want anything to do with him as he doesn't want anything to do with me"
"makes him sick. Like an unwanted curse" Ao'nung had commented back.
You could only bite back your tears.
---------------------------------------
From that point on. You had endured the negative feeling any time you saw Lo'ak make an attempt at talking with you. You had endured Ao'nung torture.
And it was a peaceful night before you heard Ao'nungs laugh behind you. You didnt even process him. Not that you cared enough.
Not anymore.
So long in thought and watching the waves go by that you hadn't realized Lo'ak Was here. Standing up for you.
No. You didnt need him.
" I dont need you to fight my battles you know?"
"I cant sit here and watch him berate you like this!"
"Thats rich coming from you!"
You couldnt hold it in anymore. Nothing in your body wanted more than to make him hear you. Make him see you for what you were.
"as i recall i was always "like an unwanted curse"
you could see him mentally slap himself. Throw in a shit as he finally understood why you've been so...standoffish around him.
"i dont need you in this moment to fight for me"
"Listen Y/n, i was-"
"I dont care! I dont care okay? What ever it was that made you hate me. Whatever it was that made you despise me i dont care!" You finally broke. You didnt care who stood and watched. You certainly couldn't bat an eye at Ao'nung who was watching this entire thing.
" I have spend my entire life doing and saying the things you want me to say to please The people around us. To please Dad and mom. To make Neteyam get off our back to cover for the mess you always make"
You couldn't care to voice your words nicely. You had enough.
"i've had about Enough of Always following in your shadow! Ive had it with always having to Take the fall with you when i only wanted to spend time with you without nearly dying or getting someone injured. there are not enough words to voice the pain i felt when you said you had enough of me. When i never been enough for our Father."
You choke on a sob wiping your eyes
"and I'm not going to sit by and not be enough for you!"
And you wouldn't be enough. But you were enough for yourself. And that would be okay. And Lo'ak had all the time in the world to make it up to you.
you didn't know how or when or what he would do. But That was enough for today

Please let me know what you think <3
🍯🍯🍯
You open your eyes. It's grim and grey. The world is just as heavy as your body. You try to move but it hurts too much. You drop your hand back to the bed and stare at the green canopy.
You don't remember how this happened. You were in the kitchen, now you're here. You groan, your mouth is dry and sticky.
There's movement in the shadows. You flinch and tense as you squint into the dark. The lamp flicks on and illuminates a familiar face. She smiles, her eyes swollen from her tears, and squeezes your hand.
"I'm sorry, I fell asleep."
You don't say anything. You couldn't if you tried. You give a strained look as she pets your knuckles.
"He's gone. Thor. For now. I told him... I'd be good if he let me stay."
You stare at Muffin. That makes you sad but you don't know why you would care if he's gone. He's not done anything to you.
"I didn't mean for him to hurt you."
Your eyes round and you cough. You squeak as it thrums in your bones. Why would he hurt you? What did you do?
"I decided that if it means I get to see you, then I'll talk all he wants me to."
You nod and squeeze her hand back. You don't have strength to do more than that. You wish she wasn't stuck with him. You wish you didn't know exactly the dread that edges her tone.
"He killed my father," she utters, "Just like... just your mom. But I didn't know."
You give a sympathetic grimace and tilt your head. She never speaks so much, she must be really upset.
"Sorry," you croak and nearly on your arid tongue.
"No, I'm sorry. I was stupid. Just like those other girls."
You furrow your brows and blow out. You shake your head slowly, "not stupid--"
"Yes, very. They're not going to get away. Not forever. They can't."
"Muffin," you murmur.
"I'm done with hope, aren't you?"
You seal your lips and your eyes sting. You don't know what to say. Muffin was always the happy one, she always made you feel better. She is the light in the tunnel and now it's all caving in.
"That went... a long... time... ago," you eke out, little by little.
She laughs into a sob and covers her face. She cries, her shoulders heaving as her despair consumes her. Your own tears trickle out. Your head pulses from the base.
"There's..." You raise your hand and point to the green chest nestled against the wall, "in there. Bottom, pouch..." the words are hard to piece together, "brown with golden string."
She looks at you in confusion. She sniffles and gulps. Slowly, she stands as your arm falls limp. That was your plan, the one you never could bring yourself to follow through on. That makes your chest pit and questions if it's all so bad.
She goes to the chest and lifts the lid carefully. She bends and stirs through the depths. You hid it there with the spare blankets because Loki never deals with all that. You make the bed, you cook the meals, he merely walks upon your freshly mopped floors. Still just a god with his head in the clouds.
She finds the pouch, the little bag once storing one of many necklaces gifted from your avaricious husband. In which you hid the tablets secreted from Tony's cabinet during that chaotic party. You could always get some wiggle room if you gave Loki what he wanted.
"There's not enough.... for both..." Your head lolls and you give and acidic smile, "didn't think..."
She comes back to you and looks inside the sachet. Her eyes flick up and she gives you a dire look. You let the doom numb you.
"You can... have them," you turn your head. "I could.... couldn't."
She doesn't say anything. She stands there, unmoving. Maybe she won't do it. Maybe she'll put it back and stay with you.
"I'm a coward," you confess, "but... you're not."
She sits on the bed again. You look at her through a wall of grief. She won't look at you.
"Can I lay with you?" She asks at last.
"Please," you reach for her hand and grip it firmly around the pouch, "you'll just... go to sleep. I will too."
Again, she hesitates. "What about you?"
"What about me?" You sigh, "I'll find another way... maybe."
You let her go and she dumps the pills into her hand. She stares at them, her throat constricting, and then she pours them into her mouth. She holds her palm against her lips and gulps loudly. She chokes a little and coughs it out. She gives a blech at the taste.
She tosses the sachet and stretches out next to you. You drape your arm over her shoulders as she puts her head on your chest. She slings her arm over your middle and you turn your gaze to the ceiling. Misery loves friends but your only friend does not deserve this misery.
"I love you," she says with a yawn.
You move your hand in front of her face and sign back to her; "Love you forever."
---
This is goodbye to Darling and Muffin. Thank you all for sticking around.

Chainsaw Man Chapter 149 'Early' Analysis
This entire chapter is pretty sad when you ignore the fact fumiko got her ass handed to her and ran away like a coward lmao ! GET HER ASS NAYUTA KILLLLLLLLLLLL KILLLLLLLL!
Tumblr media
This whole chapter is about Denji more than it is Nayuta. Denji continues to be put in a situation were even if it means protecting the people he cares about it he can't turn into chainsaw man because that would lead to them being hurt.
Tumblr media
You can watch the cogs turning in his head throughout the chapter.
Tumblr media
This whole middle section excluding fumiko's involvement (she did one useful thing this chapter thats a new record now never show up again you BASTARD) Ahem Pretty much everything in this middle section of the chapter is about Denji's own insecurities and fears despite the fact they're never actually stated. You can see it in his face throughout this. He feels like he failed Nayuta. Yeah he's been treating her well but he hasn't actually done anything to discipline her and make sure she turns out as a well adjusted adult. He's just been letting school and tv do everything for him and all he's been doing is giving into her demands.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You can see it best in these few pages. There are a lot of close ups on Denji and Nayuta. It's clear Denji isn't really thinking about any of these things they're just distractions. Everytime he says one of the things he's worried about theres a pause. He's probably worried he's failed Nayuta to the point she'll become a second Makima. She's already been showing traits of it but they've never really been anything major until the point she whips out "Denji we should join the devils side we can do whatever we want then". Which being real- Nayuta is like 8 years old of course she hasn't considered any of the ramifications of doing that. In all likely hood she just wants to do it because that means she can do whatever she wants without rules. She hasn't considered the fact in a world ruled by devils there wouldn't be any 'modern' (1999?) commodities.
Tumblr media
This page is interesting because it's like Denji snapped back into reality. When Asa is brought up his mind shifts to being worried about her instead of what he was thinking about before. Then the lingering resentment on his face in the bottom panel. She came in and 'stole' everything he had. But this is still Denji and Asa is a girl. So it works out.

CHANTEL.
pairing. detective!jay x bar-hostess!reader
theme + genre. slice of life, somehow-lovers, a silly story.
wc. 3697 k / warn. mention of gun, knife, alcohol, kissing
synopsis. the story of how a detective and a bar-hostess go in rounds before becoming a couple. aka detective!jay is a coward in face of confession.
yunan is saying. this fic is super indulgent and makes no sense at all, i was sleep depraved and writing for the heck of it, 2hrs of mindless writing leads to this but it sparked my interest :> felt like i couldn't not post it.
Tumblr media
It is an odd sense of clarity that the sizzling sound of the neon sign gave him, it is hung outside, Chantel, a little bar with a game rule; once you lose your sobriety, you get out or pay twice the market price for the drinks you bought. If you leave before you are drunk, you get a discount of 20% off the market price. A place that housed college students with money to blow off and working adults who wanted to have a drink without a hangover the next morning and a sweet deal to save some money. When he found this place it was fairly new and the itching feeling he felt in the depth of his chest when he saw numbers pouring in is something akin to jealousy.
Everyone knows about his little secret place now and he didn't like that one bit.
Inhaling the cold air, Jay hugs his coat around him whilst pushing open the entrance, the familiar wind chime rings and his eyes swiftly shift towards the bar hoping to find your welcoming smile. "welcome, chief!" Niki said, hands busy with drink mixing and you nowhere in sight.
Sighing softly, he walks to his usual seat in front of the bar and grumbles, "Don't call me that, kid,"
"Aren't you pretending to be one?" Niki shrugs, sliding a menu to him and earning an eye roll from him. "I should call you that so your cover doesn't blow,"
Shaking his head, Jay skims through the menu; though he already knew it back to back sans the weekly specials. The bar was little as mentioned already—the textured walls decorated with movie posters, the single wooden wall that housed his painting; it still made his heart race whenever he sees you admire it, the closed-off cubicles with cushioned chairs. The bar felt more like a family restaurant sometimes even though it sold more alcohol than food, and the sheer difficulty to get minors inside.
You always hired more staff than other bars your size. You had said it was so that the game would be manned properly, anyone seeming drunk would be notified to leave or agree to move to the high-paying section upstairs with the scarier staff members to prevent brawls and mishaps. one day, he had told you that you were too paranoid and incidentally, a fight had broken out on the second floor that left you with a deep cut along your arm.
You could never be too careful when you said drunk people to pay double the price. even if they already knew the game rules when they decided to move upstairs.
Though sometimes, Jay thinks he might be a reason for heightened security around a tiny bar like yours.
"Where is the owner?" Jay asks, craning his neck around the room for suspicious people, also looking for you Niki hums before replying, "Before that," the young boy smiles.
Leaning closer towards Jay, Niki asks, "Did you know that a VIP customer proposed to the owner a few days ago? she said she'll think about it—does that mean you and her are not dating?"
Gaping at the revelation, Jay scoffs, "She'll think about it?" he exasperatedly repeats.
As if on cue, he catches a whif of your signature perfume; the sweet smell of odd citrus he could never quite pinpoint what it was. "Jay!" your voice is almost like honey, so warm and sweet, Jay immediately felt his annoyance peel away when his eyes set on you and your name tumbling out of his mouth so easily.
When Jay is on duty, he hates his name more than anything else. the repeated calls for help, from his juniors and seniors alike, his name irked him off more than even a case that had no leads but when it was you calling him, the name that made him want to rip his hair out makes his knees weak and toes curl, suddenly, leaving him so feverish and light-headed.
"Jay! you're back early," you grin, your hands fidgeting around his face on instinct checking for any bruises and you sigh, "You didn't get into a fight did you?" you ask, narrowing your eyes at his sudden visit.
Shaking his head with a smile of his own, Jay pulls your hands down. The jealous feeling he got because everyone knew your bar now always disappears when your attention is solely his, your hands easily finding him and your lips repeated calling after him. no one who knew the bar who could make you as unfrazzled as him.
"I am fine, I got a lead that the target came here earlier than expected," he explains, glaring at Niki who is now curiously watching the two of you. "Niki here said you got proposed,"
Blushing slightly, you straighten up and say, "Weren't you the one who asked me to seduce information out of him? It's not my fault he jumped straight to marriage," crossing your arms in feigned annoyance, you glance at Niki, your trusted mixologist, his face contorts to shock and disbelief, gaping at you.
"You are working with him!" he shouts in a quiet tone and Jay rolls his eyes. "UGH, just when I thought Jay was gonna be dumped,"
Laughing at his reaction, you quickly pour Jay his preferred drink, water, while on business and start your report, "He says he wants to move to the next town by next week so we gotta get married soon—It's so hard trying to keep his hands off me, he thinks I want to fall all over him all the time," you whine, your lips curling downwards with disgust and you sigh.
"Hmm, what about his business?" Jay asks, creasing his brows to focus and your hands cup his face, fingers smoothing out his furrowing brows while you reply, "He said he has a few clubs about twice this size scattered around the red light district—uh, didn't say what it was called but something to do with his name, like an anagram or so," trailing after your report, you smile gently at him.
"Was I helpful?" you ask, tilting your head to meet his eye level and Jay bites his lips, "You didn't have to do this," holding himself back from melting into your hands.
You could've said no when Jay asked for your help with his investigation, even when he constantly checked up through phone calls if you were still okay doing it. You couldn't say no when you realized this was probably going to be your only chance to help him with his work, a little flirting pales in comparison to having him go to dangerous places collecting evidence. Not to say you didn't like his job as a detective, it did make him super hot especially when he wore his uniform on official duty, however, you didn't particularly like the idea of him being constantly on the tail of people who wouldn't hesitate to pull the trigger or stab a person.
"Is he the one upstairs?" Jay asks, and you nod solemnly pulling away from him, knowing what was going to happen.
"Please be careful," you said, watching him rubbing his thumb in circles on your hands and tearing apart from you slowly while he walks towards the stairs.
He always did that. A non-verbal way to apologise and thank you, the first time he did it was after he kissed you for the first time—he didn't say he likes you yet but his instinct when he saw you flushed and took deep breathes after running away from his previous target was to kiss you.
When he first kissed you, in the heat of the moment after you rescued him from gunpoint behind your bar's back entrance, that was the first time his heart paced that quickly not in fear for his life but the love of you, you who wouldn't hurt a fly had come out running to save him, your stamina so much lesser than his but you still tried to outrun the man with a gun until Jay realized and began leading the two of you to safety, his chest tightened around his heart, choking him up and the hammering on the back on his head that had tears brimming his eyes because of the combined heat from running and his loud heart, nothing compared to that moment.
Not when he was in front of death's door did he feel more frightened and desperate than when he was in front of you looking so worried and scared for him, keeping him safe with your hands and pulling him closer. When the scent of your sweet citrus perfume filled up his system pulling him deeper into you, he felt like it was the right moment to lean into the kiss he has been thinking of for days and maybe the adrenaline from the chase was the only thing making him come out with his feelings for you.
Taking your hands in his, closing the distance further and you could hear his ragged breath as he tilts his head into yours, his thumb rubbing in circles on your hands, as if he was apologising for kissing you so suddenly and thanking you for kissing him back.
Hearing your name being called in a hurry, you peek at the stairs finding a confused Jay blinking at you. "Did you get him drunk?" he splutters, looking at you with wide eyes as you nod, "Uh, this is a bar—Did I do something wrong?" you ask, moving in his direction and following him up the stairs.
Standing in front of the cubicle with the drunk man, a ring box on the table and the tapping device Jay had given you. You exchange looks with him, slightly worried you messed up before he laughs, rubbing his hand on your head softly. "You made my work so much easier!" he cheers, pulling out the handcuffs from his pocket and placing them on the unconscious man's hands.
"Oh thank god, I thought I committed a crime or something," you sigh in relief and Jay shakes his head, grinning ear to ear.
Dialling his team to arrive on the scene, he says, "Arresting him and getting him on tape is this easy only because you helped," Jay takes your hands in his and you blinker at him, your ears tingling in heat.
"This would wrap up my case," he slowly trails, gulping down his nerves and leading you back downstairs to the bar. "Remember that time you helped me run away?" Jay asks, his cheeks glowing and you nod, looking away from the back of his head as embarrassment catches up to you with your memories of that time.
"After that, we kissed a few more times," you whisper, gripping his hand tightly and he sheepishly smiles, letting you go behind the counter while he sat back in his seat and Niki glares at him, minding his own business and watching the police come in to take the man from upstairs away.
Jay sighs, the two of you despite having a relationship that is akin to lovers are more strangers than anything. All he knew was your name, this bar and everything you did for him because of your acquaintance through the bar. Likewise, all you knew about him was his name and his job and the fact that you didn't want him to die while on business with unsavoury people.
Strangers, that's what Jay would call you if not for the vulnerability he has shared with you, the kisses he has taken from you and the intimacy you showered him with—almost lovers but somehow, you were still strangers.
If he wanted to know more, he could easily find out. It was his job as a detective to find out about people and their lives, after all, the things they care for and the things that made them weak, however, it never crossed his mind to ever use those means when it came to you and he knows, you too as a bar-hostess were adept at opening people up and having them share their deepest secrets in the comfort of your bar, and yet, you have never quite asked him anything more than what he was willing to give.
Even though he was frankly willing to give you his life and anything it might encompass, be it his heart, or even his very last breath.
The silence that Jay lets brew doesn't go unnoticed by you, he let the police do their business behind him and brushes them away saying he will write up a case report tomorrow morning—his face though had a shimmer, a glow of heat that he kept hidden under his hair and his coat but your eyes curl when you see it, a smile settling on your face and you are sure your face felt the same as his in the heat behind your ear and your neck, your chest blossoming like spring, suffocating but your body feels like a furnace.
You could tell that Jay felt like he was too obvious right now to face anyone but you.
And as soon as the commotion dies down, Niki flees upstairs to man the bar, you cross your arms on the counter in front of him, positioning your face to meet his eyes and your nose brushing with his. "Why don't you start asking your questions, detective?" you tease, your body shaking in a high you could only blame him for.
"Don't you already know what I want to ask?" Jay breathes out, the heat of it whiffing towards your lips and you shake your head, "I am not sure what you mean," you smile, tilting your head upwards playfully.
Groaning quietly, Jay throws his face into his hands and hears the sound of your giggles, so close to his ears that it felt like it was burst, he takes a deep breath, meeting your eyes again—trying so hard to remain unfazed by the lack of distance.
The sound of life in your little bar always made him feel clear as if he knew everything he wanted in life and as if nothing would ever go wrong, however, his troubles often found him in the little bar in his early days here even though he thought he was being careful. Amateur mistake, he faced off with his targets twice in front of you and that was before the security was increased around your bar. He knows you did it because you wanted him to be safe at least when he was here and he knows you don't want to tell him that you were paying for more staff because of him.
There have been too many instances where his feelings slip out of his actions, like you said, you have kissed more than once and chances are they are mostly initiated by him, the way your hands aren't afraid to hold him, crease him and cradle him, he has been in your care and comfort without ever telling you or asking you for more.
"Would it be easier if I make a game rule?" you ask, pulling a bottle of Bacardi and a shot glass.
"Don't you think there are enough games in this bar?" Jay throws back a question, eyeing the bottle and shaking his head. "You never get drunk—this is a special game for you," you shrug, pouring the drink into the small glass and pushing it towards him.
"Every five minutes that pass and you don't say what you want or talk about something other than what I want to hear, you drink," you have a small smile on your face, casually adding, "I hope you know this bottle has a high alcohol percentage,"
Inhaling sharply, Jay scoffs chugging down the drink and you smirk, nodding your head. "I don't need that many drinks, one will do," Jay said determinedly.
Taking your hands in his, Jay immediately clears his throat unflattering almost as if he was buying time. "Niki, can you please handle the counter?" you call, hearing back a ‘yes, ma'am’ immediately. "Let's go inside," you said, unlocking the door to the staff area and Jay blinks at you before following you in.
"Am I allowed in here?"
"I am the owner... now Jay," you call his name.
"You know, you are very aggressive when I get shy—" "That's only because you keep dragging whenever you get shy!" you interrupt him, feeling a faint blush rising again.
Bar Chantel is your pride and inside it, you always felt more comfortable and free to do whatever you liked. Even if it meant you'd be embarrassed about it once you back home which was on the third floor of your building. Everything that ever happened with Jay has always happened while you were in Chantel.
Closing the distance between the two of you again, you ask, "Why did you kiss me? more than once?"
"Because I wanted to," he said, glancing away from you and you roll your eyes.
"Why do you want to kiss me then?" you ask, moving your hands to bring his eyes to meet yours. "Don't hide from me and just say it, you already know my answer so why are you so scared?"
Jay sighs, hearing you up it in words makes him wonder, why couldn't just come out and say it? why has he never come out and said it? it made sense in his head, detectives have rough lives. He is constantly in danger because he works in a unit made for criminal catching. your life with him would never be easy.
Maybe you didn't want that.
He knows though, "You know that I would never stop you from doing your work right? That's what you are worried about right?" you cup his face and furrow your brows. "Just why do you think I helped you today?"
"Do you want to go out with me?" you ask.
Your hands burn the skin on his face, his eyes wide at your words, breath cutting short with each second. "I wanted to ask you out—I kissed you first, I wanted to do this that time too," he rambles, gulping harshly and you scoff, pulling his face to you and pressing a chaste kiss on his lips.
"All you had to do was ask, you already know I am so weak towards you,"
Laughing breathlessly at that, Jay says, "You could say the same about me,"
A detective and bar hostess, no matter what Jay thought, it didn't make sense. Nor did a life where he didn't want you, one where you were just the owner of a bar he likes and you were merely a cog in the world that keeps spinning.
The work he did that never let him rest is only manageable in a life where your little bar housed quiet peace and a place to drink without worry, a game rule that seemed odd but made so much sense to the person who runs the business. The little bar, Chantel, always sinks a clarity in him and you are the centre of the weathered ocean, the sunshine that greets him with the sound of the sizzling neon sign, the wind chime and your sweet voice calling his name to welcome him into your arms.
"This place... honestly I am so glad I found this place," Jay grins, snaking his arms around you and pulling you into a hug. "I walked in here with a bloody coat the first time didn't I?"
"It scared me so much but then you asked me what this place was called even though there is a big sign on the outside," you laugh, remembering the time he fell on the floor of your entrance while being on call with his subordinate. "Chantel is the only bar with a sign that big around here," you remind him just as you had said to him on that day.
"I was dizzy from blood loss—but I remember thinking Chantel was your name too," Jay said, his fingers tangling into your hair and you nod, "you called me that when you woke up a few hours later," you recall fondly, melting into his heat and he calls you again, "Chantel,"
"A pretty name for a pretty lady," "A pretty name for a pretty lady," you said at the same time as him and a giggle escapes your lips, pulling away to see his face.
"God, that sounds so stupid—I am so sorry," Jay shakes his head removing his hands from around you and hiding his face again.
"Please! Jay! it was cute," you said, cooing at him and pulling his hands down from his face, "If it wasn't for you misunderstanding that, you wouldn't have found this place again,"
"You're right," Jay trails, quietly locking his gaze with yours and you stop laughing, his hands tied around your wrists. "I thought about you, Chantel, for days, almost a month before deciding to find this again,"
"I should be thankful too then," you said, "That it made quite an impression on you,"
"Still, whether it was this place or because it was you—I don't know why it took me so long to come back and also to tell you how I feel,"
"That doesn't matter now, detective, all that matters is that from today... We are a couple!" shaking in excitement, you stamp your feet in a little happy dance and Jay laughs sheepishly watching you, "Niki is going to hate this so much," he says, remembering his comment from earlier.
Rolling your eyes, you said, "that's only because you treat him like a child,"
"But he is!" Jay scoffs, pulling open the staff room door and you shake your head, following him out and finding Niki watching the two of your curiously. Nodding your head, you ask, "You are only a few years older, are you a child?"
"Why are you siding with him!"
Locking gaze with Niki, who smiles as he heard the conversation, you can't help giggling when you said, "Because he is a kid," receiving a loud ugh from the said boy.

{ @askoinari } So, your one true wish in this whole entire universe is to die, hm? Tragic, pitiful really. All this fuss and a temper tantrum because you couldn’t win mommy’s love? Even your own god does not grant you the peace you so desperately long for, stringing you along like a puppet. Do you honestly think your death will solve all your problems? Knowing your god, they’d probably spite you back to life in the form of a ghost for a laugh, wouldn’t that be ironic? I suppose nobody else would care about your death considering your track record for violence, but what of your No-so-apparent companion here? Wouldn’t they mourn you, at the very least? Judging from your charming nature, probably not! Good luck on your fools’ errand. - Yako
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Silas's ears flattened as he backed away from Yako, for the first time it seemed he was fearful of someone. Though you couldn't place why... But, Silas knew, he knew exactly why, it was that damn mask, the posture, the aura, the way their tail seemed to become a wisp. It was like looking at a ghost. Once he realized why Yako scared him Silas couldn't do much but freeze in place and squeeze his eyes shut, hoping they would just leave. His fear response became painfully apparent as the moments passed. All he could muster up was a feeble anxious whimper, maybe that would magically make them spare him from the incoming verbal assault. Then they spoke. It sounded just like her. In his terror it WAS her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Seance's tone was mocking, something Silas was guilty of doing... or maybe he was just copying her the whole time. Even so, she just quietly hummed in thought, looking over him as she ever so slightly inched closer and closer.
Tumblr media
"Even after all these years, you're still chasing after her love? Desperately hoping one day she'll forgive you for all the pain you caused her?" Though Seance's voice was soft, her words were not. "I told you, She doesn't love you and she never will. Why can't you get that through your head?" She paused, giving her words a moment to sink in before she spoke up again. "Silas." She sounded upset. "What did I tell you about not looking at me while I'm talking to you?" He cringed at that but didn't reply.
Tumblr media
When he didn't do what she said, she just gave a soft, "Tsk." Well, He always was a coward, of course he didn't have the guts to even look at her. She gently brushed a claw over his face before finally letting go with an annoyed sigh. Despite Seance's words, Yako's voice was still loud and clear, mocking him along with her. Her voice seemed to compliment theirs perfectly.
Tumblr media
Seance quickly broke into laughter at the thought of that herself.
Tumblr media
"Isn't that right, Little fox?" Truth always hurt. Silas couldn't deny it, Yako was right. Seance was right, every word every insult was right. When tears finally began to well up and Seance's voice faded, Silas found the courage to speak. His voice was soft and faint. A mere whisper compared to the onslaught of words from Yako. "Please..."
Tumblr media
Silas's words obviously went unheard. His claws just dug further into his skin, blood beginning to trail down his arm, the moment it finally seemed like Yako was going to stop talking, Silas broke from his fearful trance. In one quick sweeping motion, Silas threw out a Night Slash.
Tumblr media
"JUST SHUT UP ALREADY." He shouted. "You have NO right to TALK DOWN to me like I'm beneath you! I AM NOT BENEATH YOU." He sounded unsure. "You don't know who the fuck I am, and I don't think you want to find out. So, Shut the fuck up or I'll make you! I have no fucking problem with killing you right here. Unless you want to be gutted I suggest you FUCK OFF." Silas lowly growled, his teeth bared, a blatant attempt at aggression, though his behaviour portrayed more fear than anything. Yako obviously touched a nerve with his words.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He didn't care. Finally, after everything the tears began to flow, all he could do was sniff and wipe them away. "...Fucking pathetic." He grumbled, his words seemed to be addressed to Yako but it quickly became clear it was for himself.
→ Yako has been added to the relationships page. → Seance has been added to the characters page. → Silas is now injured and will stay that way until he addresses it.

Lost But Never Found: Chapter 1, A Clashing Of Titans
How will the world end?
A grim question to be sure. Will it end in flames? A giant inferno consuming everything in its path.
Perhaps a flood will be the cause. Drowning all life before the titans of the sea consume the remains.
Maybe the world will freeze, a giant lifeless ball of ice floating through space.
Of course there's a more terrifying option. When the world crumbles due to something else. Something not natural.
Something that's indestructible.
Even the strongest weapons known to man cannot even graze it.
It's too powerful, stronger than the wildest hurricane, the biggest volcano, the deadliest earthquake.
How would you even fight something like that? Answer: you can't.
You can't fight it.
Can't hide from it.
Can't escape.
Its raw unrestrained power, strangled into a body made of metal. Metal that has been infused with nothing but pure evil.
Begging for mercy is out of the question. It wont grant it.
It doesn't even seem to understand the concept of "mercy." Destruction is all it knows.
It is a wild feral animal, attacking anything and everything that moves.
But what exactly is this terrifying creature that could bring about the end of the world as people know it?
It is known by one name.
The Shredder.
Once a kind man turned a monster by the armor his soul now haunts. The armor had been destroyed, the pieces scattered across the globe. It was the only way to ensure that the Shredder would never return to the earth.
The key word being had. The horrible dark armor had been destroyed.
It had been reconstructed, piece by piece by the Foot clan. The Foot Clan was a cult devoted to the Shredder, their ultimate goal was to unleash their lord and together they would take over the world.
Of course that scenario did not exactly play out as they had hoped. The Shredder attacked them instantly, because it was not the Shredder they expected. Instead of a conquering evil warlord they got a feral wild animal.
Serves them right honestly.
However those cowards had fled as soon as things went south. Leaving their enemies, the remains of the Hamato clan to deal with the fallout.
The aforementioned fallout being the Shredder attacking everything in sight before zapping to a new location to trash, rinse and repeat every fifteen minutes.
It was exhausting.
Fighting this unstoppable bundle of rage, barely staying alive until it zaps to another location.
So a plan had been made, to go get help from one of the top crime bosses of the yokai-populated Hidden City beneath New York.
Her name is Big Mama, she is as deceptive as she is entrancing.
Now outside of her beloved Nexus Hotel a blue glow appeared in the air, swirling brightly as it formed a massive circle. A portal.
Two figures landed crouched down in front of the massive hotel. The taller of the two slung an ōdachi over his shoulder, looking down at the shorter with a slightly anxious gaze.
"So you knew Big Mama back in the day?" The taller figure, a mutant red eared slider asked curiously. The shorter, a portly mutant rat flushed nervously.
"We were just friends!" He replied all too quickly to be convincing. "I mean, it will all be fine!" The rat finished with a horribly nervous laugh. The slider rolled his eyes gazing up at the massive hotel.
It will be fine! He'll go right in there, crank up the charm, and face-man Big Mama so hard she'll be on her hands and knees begging to help them! Easy! He's got this!
The dozens of cuts and scrapes that littered his body stung as a painful reminder that he had to do this. Everyone was counting on him. If he didn't get Big Mama's help, his family and the entire world were fucking screwed.
But he's got this!
He turned to the rat, time to face the music, or in this case the manipulative spider yokai that would most definitely try to kill them given the chance.
The rat had turned around and was muttering under his breath while clutching his head in his hands. "Just rat up and see her. How bad could it be? Okay, super awful, but come on! Tuck in your tail and let's go!"
Okay…
They entered the hotel. The slider spotted one of the bellhops, a fox yokai, standing in front of the elevator. First get past this guy and then deal with Big Mama.
The slider, Leo, cleared his throat as they approached the bellhop.
"Two to see Big Mama. We're totally on her schedule." He said, piling on the charm. The fox's expression didn't change, better throw in a compliment to sweeten the deal. "Sweet whisker mustache, BTW. Makes you look young. Or old, whichever you're going for."
The bellhop rolled his eyes in annoyance before pulling a walkie talkie out of his pocket, score.
Leo glanced down at the rat, who is his beloved father Splinter. Splinter grimaced, nervously fidgeting with his tattered Lou Jitsu costume.
"Two chatted-up mutants here for ya, mum. A rat and one of them bleedin' turtles." Leo resisted the urge to scoff. Now that was just plain rude. He held his tongue, can't screw up now.
Big Mama's voice crackled through the walkie talkie "Tell them to shove off" The bellhop repeated it, much to Leo's annoyance. But that's fine! Plan B he portals them straight to that stupid spider lady's office!
Before the witty response could leave his mouth Splinter spoke up.
"Fine. Tell her her snuggle muffin beefcake is here." An embarrassed blush coated Splinter's face while Leo felt his stomach churn.
"Uh," He started, cringing down to his soul. "How do you know Big Mama again?" The slider yelped when his shorter father pulled him down to eye level. After a short glance at the bellhop to be sure he wasn't listening, Splinter sighed before turning back to his son.
The rat began to whisper "In addition to being a crime boss, Big Mama is also kind of…my ex."
Leo sat there, frozen as the words rooted himself deep into his skull.
Then he screamed in horror, his body cringing so hard it felt like he was being out through a meat grinder. Dear god why? Why?
Splinter began talking about how they met, a story of love, an inseparable pair. Those two were practically soulmates! Then the story grew dark when Big Mama rejected his proposal, revealing her true form and kidnapping him to the Battle Nexus to become her champion.
The boy was struggling not to throw up, the thought of his dad dating Big Mama! Yeah no he would rather stick his head into raw sewage. His father sighed as he finished his tale
"I do miss her pre-kidnapping times. I mean, how could anyone stay mad at those eyes? That smile. And those-" Leo covered his ears, if he heard more of his father's dating life he would scream.
"No, no, no, no more lovey and or dovey talk!" The bellhop made a noise of annoyance, gaining the duo's attention. A sinister smirk was one his muzzle.
"Hey, rat! Big Mama's got a message for you two." Splinter muttered something about a long overdue apology while Leo huffed. Showtime. Before they could blink, two dark blue coins were thrown at their heads.
The coins swirled into a pink and orange portal, sucking both rat and turtle into the vortex. Screams tore through their lungs as they zipped around through the blue vortex before crashing face first into unforgiving concrete.
When they sat up they were behind a glass railing, looming over the arena below.
Far below was a massive kraken, tentacles waving around the arena while some poor sap with a flimsy battle ax cowered nervously before the beast. Even from high above it was obvious the poor guy was shaking like a leaf in the wind.
In the blink of an eye the poor fool was flung into the stone wall hard enough to leave a massive crater. That had to hurt.
The crowd erupted like a volcano, blood red petals falling from the ceiling into the arena.
Splinter visibly shuddered next to Leo, but the slider pretended not to be phased. Fake it till you make it as the saying goes.
"The Battle Nexus? Okay, no biggie. We've got this. Trust me." His father scoffed, grabbing the poor boy's face.
"I do not!" Splinter scolded. "You don't know Big Mama like I do. She's ruthless!" The elevator dinged, speak of the mother fucking devil. Out came the jorōgumo herself.
Perfect timing, the slider was beginning to let the mask slip. It was slapped back on, glued down and hopefully the cracks couldnt be seen.
"Snuggle muffin beefcake?" She began, not even sparing Leo a glance, which he was grateful for because he once again felt like he was going to puke."Where did you hear that naughty little nickname, rat man?"
The rat's cheeks darkened once more, before he steeled himself. Before Leo could gag his father spun Big Mama around, gazing up at her six glowing red eyes.
"From you, as we tangoed the night away, my sassy sugar badger" Ok that's it Leo couldn't take it anymore. He noped right out of that conversation and gazed down at the arena below.
The kraken was gone, the poor idiot's bloody remains being cleaned off the arena floor. Poor guy didn't stand a chance. The turtle grimaced, even from here it didn't look pretty.
He looked up at one of the mystic monitors, which was displaying the next upcoming fight.
"The Sunset Serpent vs the Akuma Kappa"
On the left was a huge red and orange constrictor snake yokai with way too many eyes for a danger noodle to have.
But the fighter on the right truly got Leo's attention.
The fighter on the right was much smaller than the snake. Despite the short stature this guy was nonetheless menacing.
Most of the guy's body was covered by a black cloak obscuring it from view. He was holding twin katanas, blood from a previous battle dripping from the blades. The guy's hands appeared to be massive spider claws just Big Mamas.
The only part visible was the face under the shadow of the hood.
Glowing blood red streaks under the eyes, mouth covered by a black mask with a truly vicious glowing demon fang decal. It was…sinister to say the least. Like a monster underneath the bed.
Eesh, wouldn't want to piss that guy off.
Big Mama's voice cut through Leo's thoughts.
"I do have a splendiferous mystic bauble that you can have. For a price." Her masked assistant held up a projection of a mystic looking collar. Leo smirked.
Bingo.
"And there it is. Always has to be something in it for her." Splinter retorted, time to crank up the Leo.
"Prickly Petey losing his charm?"
He got between the two old lovebirds, slinging an arm around Big Mama's shoulders.
"Hey, hey, hey, water under the bridge. Big Mama, Bubby, let's talk Shredder. He's bad for us, bad for New York, bad for your Yokai business in New York. So, if you got a solution, let's make a deal." He cooed sweetly, watching her like a hawk.
He caught her expression shift subtly from annoyed to confused to understanding. He could vaguely hear his father's protests, how "no one outsmarts Big Mama."
Well that may be true but Big Mama never met the only and only Neon Leon Hamato! He's got this!
"You know, I don't hear a lot of cheering." He began, and it was true there was a lot less cheering than the last time the turtles were here.
"Business is not booming. What you need is a headliner. Someone to put butts in seats. Someone to take on your new champ. Someone like your old champ in new form: Ratjitzu!" Splinter squawked in protest, which Leo swiftly ignored.
Before Big Mama could even open her mouth Leo kept going "Okay fine, let me sweeten the deal!"
"But she didn't even say no to your first deal yet!"
"And Ratjitzu is going to be fighting with no weapons." Big Mama looked excited, seriously considering such a proposition.
"But that beast has rat-crushing tentacles!" Once again Splinter's protests went ignored.
"We have a deal!" Big Mama said, whether from genuine excitement over the supposed battle of the ages or perhaps sadistic pleasure at watching her old ex most likely get pummeled. Who really cares about the specifics.
Splinter all but screamed in the background. Leo however smiled brightly at Big Mama.
"Yes! Ah, I'm not sure how this works. Which hand do I shake?" After a brief handshake he pulled the rat close to his side. "Trust me pops. You got this."
"I knew I should’ve bought purple." Leo rolled his eyes as they were escorted to a dressing room. Big Mama was watching them with a sinister smirk. She thinks she was playing them, gaining their trust to betray them soon after.
But what big spooky spider lady didn't know is that Leo was playing her right back.
And he plays to win.
The plan was in place, and Leo couldn't be more giddy.
Everything worked out perfectly, he already knows exactly how they will take down Kraken Tom. And Big Mama still thinks she's the one in control!
Ha!
Yeah right!
He can already picture her shocked face when she gets outplayed by a teenager!
There's just one last detail needed to make this plan a success.
A portal coin.
He'll stuff it into his brand new totally awesome Lou Jitsu costume and when Big Mama betrays them, because she will betray them, Wham! He'll steal his Ōdachi and they'll be home free!
The hard part is getting the portal coin without anyone noticing.
Big Mama and her creepy ass assistant were in her office, organizing the event while Splinter was still being fitted for his new costume. Only three more battles until its showtime.
So Leo was wandering around the halls of the Nexus, sneakily avoiding the gaze of the bellhops and guards. He should be able to snatch a portal coin from one of them.
But which one? Which one has the lowest attention span so they won't notice turtle fingers in their pockets?
Then he heard a noise.
The slider stopped dead in his tracks, not even daring to breathe. If he's caught now the world's done for!
A few seconds pass before he hears it again.
The noise was a faint whimper. You had to strain to hear it.
Leo glanced down the hall, following the sound. As he got closer to the sound it sounded like someone was in pain. Soon he stood in front of a wall, the noises could be heard on the other side.
A wall making noises?
There was a small indent on the floor, a button from the looks of it. Hidden just out of sight to anyone not paying attention.
Leo gently kicked the button with his foot, a soft click could be heard as the wall opened a bit. He smirked, pushing his way into the wall. There was a small back room hidden behind the wall.
The wall clicked shut behind him, leaving the only light source being some dim glowing crystals here and there.
There were boxes, some old weapons, bones… yeesh this place was creepy.
A pained grunt caught Leo's attention.
Sitting on one of the boxes was another turtle.
A turtle with a badly dislocated left shoulder.
The left hand was planted firmly to the wall while he was trying to move the joint back in place with his right hand. His arms and legs were wrapped in thick layers of dirty fabric similar to boxing tape up to his biceps and upper thighs.
"Uh boy that looks bad." Leo couldn't help but blurt out. The turtle yelped, and in a split second the blade of a katana was pointed at his throat.
"Who are you?" The turtle gasped, the sword shaking like a leaf. Leo gulped, taking several steps back. There were incredibly dark bags under the turtle's eyes. He looked exhausted.
"Woah woah woah there pal!" Leo hastily backtracked, waving his hands in surrender.
"Shut up! Who sent you? W-was it Big Mama?" The turtle stuttered out, nearly dropping the katana from how hard he was shaking.
"No! No, I just heard you whimpering and wanted to check it out! Honest!"
"Well everything is fine! So leave! Before anyone finds us!" Leo frowned, gazing at the dislocated shoulder. That straight up looked painful. The medic in him was screaming to fix it, set the joint or else it would heal badly.
There were several dozen cuts all over the turtle's body all in various stages of healing. From deep gashes to thin scrapes. Some even looked infected.
Leo reached for his fanny packs under the thick jumpsuit, causing the turtle to straight up flinch.
"Easy! Look let me patch up your wounds and fix your shoulder then I'll get out of your hair! Ok?"
"It's not your job to fix me up. It was my fault I got hurt so I got it!"
"Uh clearly you don't got it pal."
"Save your energy for your own battle."
"What?"
The katana blade was pointed at Leo's sick ass outfit.
"You're dressed like a fighter, albeit a really dumb looking one, so your turn in the arena is coming up soon."
Leo rolled his eyes, crouching down to be eye level with the turtle. "First of all dude this outfit is the iconic jumpsuit of the famed Lou Jitsu! And second, I'm not an official fighter."
"Who's Lou Jitsu?"
The slider gasped, a hand over his heart.
"You don't know who Lou Jitsu is?" The other turtle shook his head, a curious glint in his eyes.
Leo sighed, clapping his hands. "Let me patch you up and I'll tell you all about him! Deal?" The turtle looked at him questioningly.
The blade was lowered, set down on one of the boxes. "Fine, do your worst." Leo smirked, gently grabbing the dislocated shoulder. The turtle winced, already gritting his teeth.
"Ok so Lou Jitsu is one of the best action fighters of all time!" Leo began, keeping his voice to a quiet whisper as he worked on easing the joint back into the socket.
In two minutes there was a loud pop, the turtle biting his lip to keep from screaming. He slumped against the wall, breathing like he ran a marathon.
"Feels better?" The turtle nodded, moving his arm around. "Hey buddy you gotta rest that arm or it won't heal!"
The turtle huffed out a tired laugh.
"Tell that to Big Mama!"
"I'm sure the look on her face will be worth it!" Leo boasted, pulling out some disinfectant spray and bandages. Time to deal with the smaller injuries.
"What do you mean?" The turtle asked, suddenly afraid. Leo smirked, leaning close to him.
"I'm gonna outplay Big Mama!" He whispered with an excited giggle.
The turtle gave him a horrified and or baffled look.
"Are you insane?" Leo smirked harder, ignoring the soft hiss from the turtle as he sprayed a cut on his thigh. "That's full on suicide!"
"Is it?" The turtle smacked Leo on the head, hard enough to make him yelp.
"Of course it is! Big Mama is crazy manipulative! She sees through any plan you could make and stops you from making a move. Then she will kill you!"
"We got a deal!" The turtle scoffed, flicking Leo in the forehead. He got his payback by tightly tying a bandage over the cut, far tighter than necessary. The turtle squeaked before the bandages were loosened a tad.
"It doesn't matter what 'deal' you have! She will betray you!"
"Exactly!" Leo countered before moving on to a gash on the turtle's stomach. "In fact I'm counting on it!" The turtle shook his head, muttering under his breath.
"We both know your little plan is going to flop!"
"Do we?"
"Uh yes! It's Big Mama, you can't win against her. Believe me I tried." The turtle took off the boxer tape on his right arm, revealing three massive dark scars extending from the wrist to the elbow.
Marks from Big Mama's claws.
Dread pooled in Leo's stomach.
"I almost bled out because of these. She said this was the first and last warning. Defy her again and…" The turtle made a cut throat motion with his finger. "Only reason she kept me is because I'm a good fighter."
Leo gently ran his fingers down the dark scars, heart drumming in his chest. The boxer tape was back on the turtle's arm a few seconds later, wrapped in a practiced mechanical motion. Leo continued patching the rest of the turtle's injuries before finally sighing.
"Everyone's depending on me to win this. Win against Big Mama. I got this!" The turtle rolled his eyes.
"And how exactly are you going to pull this grand scheme off huh?" Leo glanced back at the wall he came in from. No one can hear about this.
"You promise not to tell anyone?"
The turtle nodded, scooting closer to Leo. The slider pulled out a small notebook and pen from his shell, sketching out the plan and how he and his dad were going to whoop ass.
"You're going up against Kraken Tom and the Evil Six? Well if Big Mama doesn't kill you they certainly will."
Leo sketched out the pointy helmets, scribbling some portals onto the paper.
"All I gotta do is snatch a portal coin and we're good to go!"
"And how are you going to do that genius?"
Leo deflated, shrugging nervously.
"I was figuring that out when I heard you."
The turtle frowned, gesturing at Leo to fork over the pen and paper. He started scribbling something before handing the notepad back.
There was a poorly drawn picture of…something. A goat…no maybe a bear…or a narwhal?
"Uh what am I looking at here pal?" The turtle groaned, standing up on unsteady legs.
"I'll show you, follow me!" He limped over to the wall, immediately getting Leo concerned.
"Dude why didn't you mention your leg! Sit back down!"
The turtle just stared at Leo, a weary gaze that made him shudder.
"It's been like that for as long as I can remember. There's nothing you can do. Now hurry up!" Leo frowned but obliged, following the turtle to the wall.
It was then that he realized that the turtle is much shorter than him, maybe three or four inches.
There was a click and the wall opened, the duo peering out into the hallway. There was an elephant seal bellhop passing by in the far distance.
"See that guy?"
"Dude you gotta learn how to draw better holy shit." The turtle ignored that comment and continued.
"His nap break is coming up in about two minutes. Once his head hits the table he's dead to the world."
"And you know this, how exactly?"
"Because I steal knives from him all the time and he never notices."
Leo snickered at that, watching the bellhop go down the stairs.
"Ok cool but how will I find him?"
"He snores like a freight train, it's pretty hard to miss." Leo smirked menacingly, all those years of stealing money from dad's pockets is about to pay off.
"Thanks bud! Wait…" Leo trailed off as the turtle went to grab his katanas. "Why are you helping me? You literally said that my plan is suicide!"
The turtle shrugged at him, in the light from the open wall Leo could see his eyes more clearly.
They were a dark bluish-purple color. An Indigo color framed by a thin rim of electric yellow on the outer part of the iris.
Those eyes were so tired. So utterly drained.
"You helped me so I helped you, now we're even." There was more to it though.
"Is that all buddy boy?"
With a sigh the katanas were picked up, slung over both shoulders like an x.
"I really hope your plan works out, someone's gotta take Big Mama down a peg or two." The two left the backroom, time to go separate ways.
"Hey wait!" Leo grabbed the turtle's right shoulder, stopping him from leaving. "What's your name?"
The turtle's face shifted from stunned back to neutral.
"I don't have one." He said calmly, like he was talking about the weather.
"You don't have a name?" Leo echoed, eyes wide.
The turtle nodded, albeit a bit solemnly.
"I've been in the Battle Nexus for as long as I can remember. I don't know anything else."
"What about Indigo?" At the turtle's confused look Leo pointed to his eyes. "Like your eyes! They're a weird bluish purple color so it fits!"
The turtle chuckled a bit half-heartedly. "I don't really look in the mirror that much but I'll take your word for it…"
"You, my friend, can call me Leo! Or Leon! Whichever makes me sound cooler!"
Indigo smiled a bit. "Sure thing Leon. Hope you don't end up here, your scrawny ass won't last a week!" Indigo said as he left, leaving Leo alone.
Maybe once this whole Shredder nightmare is over they can stage a rescue mission for his new friend Indigo…
Showtime.
The Battle Nexus was absolutely packed with yokai. Some were even fighting over seats just to watch the incoming battle.
You could almost smell the excitement in the air as the entire crowd was screaming. From high above the fuss and the fray sat Big Mama, clapping her hands excitedly.
"The arena has never been this woozy fuddled!" Big Mama cheered, absolutely delighted. Leo smirked, sipping on a cup of fancy tea. In a matter of minutes Big Mama will be as good as got.
What the announcer said shocked Leo to his very core.
"Yokai of all ages, tonight marks a once in a lifetime event! For the first time in Battle Nexus history it's a three way championship knockout to the death! The three biggest titans of the Battle Nexus will go head to head, only one will survive!"
You know what? That's fine no biggie the announcer means that those six big guys are the third person. It's fine! Totally fine! Right?
"In the first corner of the arena are six horrifyingly familiar faces we love to hate and love to root for. You know them! You fear them! The Evil Six!" Those six pinkish looking yokai stepped into the arena. All of them were wearing the pointy helmets.
Leo's heart slowed down, so far so good.
"Joining them in the most unlikely team up of the millenia, with his powerful tentacles he can crush any opponent in seconds! The very beloved current Battle Nexus Champion, Kraken Tom!"
The Kraken slithered out into the arena, bellowing a horrible screech that made everyone go absolutely bonkers! Wait a team-up? But it's a three way battle! Who's…
"And now entering the arena after thirteen years of absence, the biggest former Battle Nexus champion is ready to reclaim his glory, back and even hairier Rat Jitsu!"
Splinter stood trembling in the arena as the crowd roared. Leo smiled, standing behind the glass rail. He looked awesome as hell in his custom Lou Jitsu uniform.
"Dad! Daddy Up here!" He yelled, waving his arms excitedly. Splinter glanced up at him, eyes filled with barely contained anger.
"Can someone tell my son I am not talking to him!" Splinter shouted, Leo ignored the comment. Everything is going to plan, they'll be fine.
"You got this pops! I love you!" The slider blew his father a kiss, which he swatted away like a fly. The boy slumped back onto the couch, glancing at Big Mama. Time to put the plan in motion.
"Remember a deal’s a deal." Big Mama chuckled deviously. Bingo.
"Of course Big Mama never goes back on a deal. She does, however, alter the terms at the very last second." Yeah he saw that one coming, exactly as he wanted. But this has to be believable.
"I’m sorry?" He asked in faux surprise before he was tackled to the ground by guards, his tea cup slapped out of his hands. One of the guards took his ōdachi. "Not my ōdachi!" He whined as Big Mama turned into her spider form.
"One last wrinkly doo. You’ll be fighting alongside your papa. But you still get my bauble if you win." The spider lady said in a singsong voice even having the fucking audacity to boop Leo on the nose.
"An out of nowhere betrayal! NOO!" He screamed as a green trapdoor opened underneath him, sending him into the arena. It wasn't an out of nowhere betrayal, all according to plan.
Splinter looked at his son, who was brushing dust off his own jumpsuit.
"Oh, the old last second trap door betrayal?" He wasn't even trying to hide the sarcasm.
"Please this was my plan all along-" Leo was cut off by the announcer.
"And to complete this unholy trifecta with the third challenger!" The father son duo turned to another set of massive doors, where a fearsome silhouette stood. The figure stepped forward, body covered by a thick black cloak. He lifted his head, Leo's blood turning to ice.
The glowing red streaks under the eyes, the mask with the glowing demon maw.
Indigo eyes framed with a band of electric yellow.
No fucking way-
"What started as a plain old nobody now becomes one of the deadliest fighters in over a century, with his blades he can slice even the biggest of giants down to ribbons. He may be small but he grants no mercy. Everyone give it up for the Oni of the Battle Nexus, the Akuma Kappa!"
What? Oh god this wasn't part of the plan.
Shit. Shit. Shit. Shit.
"Just admit it already son. You were played!" Splinter's voice cut through Leo's thoughts like a knife. Leo shook his head, this was unexpected but that's fine he can still salvage this plan and save everyone!
But his father's words still hurt.
"How come nobody trusts me? None of you guys have any faith in me. Why?" The black cloak shrouding the last fighter was ripped off, causing Leo to flinch.
The spider claws were actually custom made gauntlets, with matching black metal boots on his feet. The boxer tape from before was still there and at the same length, though now it was a blood red color.
There was a thick chest plate covering Indigo's plastron. It was diamond shaped with a massive demonic skull design. The fabric from the mask over his mouth extended down to the chest plate, completely covering his neck.
Two blood red shoulder pauldrons were connected to the chest plate. They looked nearly identical to Big Mama's shoulder pauldrons except smaller.
Then there was something on his neck, sitting on top of the fabric from the mask.
It looked silver, with a red spider shaped gemstone in the center. It kinda looked a bit like a dog collar.
Leo couldn't see it in their earlier encounter as the backroom was very dark but Indigo's body was absolutely covered in scars. Some dark and recent others pale from long ago.
Jesus Christ.
Splinter snapped his fingers, regaining Leo's attention.
"Do you want to know why I don't trust you? How about this whole situation!" Leo looked around at all the fighters. The Evil Six, the fucking Kraken! Indigo…
"This whole situation was my plan all along. If it wasn’t, then why'd I ask your tailor to make me this outfit?" Leo kept looking at Indigo, who had unsheathed both katanas and was giving Leo a pitying stare.
The fighters were starting to close in.
"So we could both perish looking super fly?" Leo reached into his costume, pulling out the dark blue portal coin.
"Or so I could sneak this baby in." The portal was activated, right next to the guard holding Leo's ōdachi. He grabbed the sword but not before flicking the guard's cup of tea to the ground "...To sneak this baby in. My deal was no weapons for you, not me."
And then it was on.
Three of the evil six charged first, weapons raised and ready to attack but Leo was faster. He dodged every attack, portaling in and out of sight. This was too easy!
A mace swung towards his skull, which got instantly sucked up into a portal and spat out in the far end of the arena. The yokai screamed, attempting to punch the slider into the ground. Leo was faster, weaving between every single punch and kick.
He swung the ōdachi, creating a blue portal and knocking the ape into the vortex. The portal opened over the top of the furious kraken, who merely swatted the yokai away like an annoying nat. He slammed into one of the distant Battle Nexus walls while the crowd cheered.
"If you would do the honors papa-" Leo stopped when he saw who his dad was fighting.
Dad was running circles around Indigo, dodging the majority of the lethal strikes from the katanas. Katanas that were already streaked with blood.
There was a broad slash that Splinter jumped to avoid, slamming his tail down into Indigo's head. In a burst of speed Splinter's tail was cracking like a whip, attacking Indigo who could barely keep up with the unexpected speed.
A kick to the left shoulder knocked Indigo to the ground, Leo winced. That was the same shoulder that had been dislocated when they met. Dear god that had to have hurt!
"Dad stop-"
The now evil five charged at Splinter, one swinging the mace, knocking him into the wall. Leo growled furiously, portaling on top of the brutes. With ferocious swings of his ōdahi he summoned dozens of portals, one of the brutes falling through. He zapped this way and that like a ball in a pinball machine.
Leo slashed at the other three brutes, landing some very bad ass cuts here and there. Mostly just thin scrapes, their skin was very tough.
"Leonardo!" Dad squawked as he tried to dodge Kraken Tom's massive tentacles. Leo tried to run over and help his dad but he should know better.
You never turn your back on enemies.
A mace slammed into Leo's carapace, knocking him face first to the ground. He rolled over, the mace about to be brought down on his skull. He screamed.
Shhink.
There was a gargled scream causing Leo to gaze up in horror.
A katana was impaled through the yokai's right eye.
A flash of black and red zipped by, yanking the katana out with a swift motion. The spiked helmet was kicked off the brute's head, spinning up in the air.
The yokai's screams were cut short when the twin katanas were slashed through his neck. His body fell to the ground, head rolling not far away. Indigo caught the helmet when it fell back to earth before tossing it to Leo. He started hyperventilating while the volume of the crowd nearly made the building shake.
"D-Dude?" Leo stuttered out, staring in horror at the lifeless severed head, bright green blood pooling around it from both the neck and the right eye socket.
"He was going to do far worse to you." Indigo replied, though his voice didn't sound normal. Almost hazy if that makes sense. Like he wasn't fully present.
Leo gulped, shaking like a leaf. The stench of blood made him nauseous. He could vaguely hear his father screaming while he fought off the other yokai. Though it was difficult to hear of the roar of Kraken Tom and the crowd.
"Leon, now is not the time to freak out! You said everyone's counting on you right?" Indigo yelled, shaking the slider. "We're getting the helmets right?" Leo stood up, swinging the helmet around. He pushed the panic, the horrible bile in his throat down. He can have nightmares about it later.
"Right! Let's take em down! Come on dad!" He shouted, summoning a portal for his father. Splinter begrudgingly hopped in, furiously tail whipping two of the brutes while yelling "Hot Soup!" knocking them both unconscious.
Indigo charged after the other one, katanas swinging mercilessly in a spray of green. Leo shuddered but followed close behind. "I'll go for the head, you take out the legs!" Indigo nodded, slashing violently at the yokai's legs. Leo jumped into the air slamming his legs into the brute's face, knocking him unconscious.
Leo snatched the helmet, twirling it around on his finger like a basketball.
"Now grab the helmets daddy-o!" He yelled at Splinter as Indigo grabbed the helmet at the far end of the arena.
Splinter confusingly popped off the helmets of the two yokai, looking at Leo with concern.
"Oh is this one of those moments I’m supposed to trust you?" A portal appeared and Leo gingerly took both helmets. Indigo threw the other helmet, which Leo caught.
The helmets were chucked like trash into a small blue portal, another forming directly above it. The helmets zipped through over and over, gaining more and more speed.
"Bingo!" Leo said confidently before it happened.
One of the tentacles grabbed Splinter.
"Papa!" Leo screamed, watching helplessly as his father was shook around like a damn rag doll.
"Give me a boost!" Indigo suddenly shouted, charging towards the slider. Leo interlocked his fingers crouching down. When Indigo stepped into his hands Keo flung him upwards with as much strength as he could.
Once in the air Indigo began spinning like a top, both katanas slicing through The tentacle effortlessly. Splinter was released, staring up in awe at Indigo while he looked like a freaky beyblade.
"Time to get Kraken!" Leo swung his ōdachi, creating a portal above one of the tentacles. One of the helmets was sent flying spike first. It slammed into the tentacle, pinning it to the ground.
Kraken Tim screeched in agony as two more of his tentacles got pinned.
"I'm just too good at this!" That statement proved to be his downfall. At that moment one of free tentacles swatted at his head, knocking two of the helmets he was about to portal down far off into the crowd, impaling two spectators.
Although the crowd didn't seem to give a damn.
"Shit!" Leo cursed, now they wouldn't have enough helmets!
Indigo landed in front of Leo, splattered with kraken blood. He pressed a button on the side of his spider claw gauntlet, releasing the construct with a grunt. He pulled his hand out before doing the same with the other gauntlet. "Use these!" The gauntlets were shoved into Leo's hands.
"But these are yours-"
"Are you kidding? I hate those stupid things, they're too tight and heavy!" He picked up the katanas and dashed off to fight the Kraken.
"Seriously Blue, how do you know that guy?" Splinter asked as the gauntlets were portal chucked at the tentacles.
"His name's Indigo, he's alright!" Leo boasted. He grabbed the last helmet, shoving it onto Splinter's head. "One more helmet." Splinter went tense, suddenly realizing he was a part of the insane plan.
There was a purely demonic screech, an earth shaking slam knocking them both off their feet followed by a pained scream. Two of Kraken Tom's tentacles had been pulled free and were viciously slamming into something over and over again with the speed of a cheetah.
That something was Indigo.
There was a spray of crimson before one of the tentacles grabbed Indigo and chucked him into the far wall of the arena.
Time seemed to stand still, the cheering of the crowd drowned out by the ringing of Leo's ears.
Indigo slumped down from the wall, landing on his knees before falling forward. There was a horrifying red streak on the wall.
Oh hell no.
"Ok Daddy-o lets kick some fucking ass!" Leo growled furiously, shoving his dad into a portal.
"Wait what? Can we try a new plan?" Splinter screamed as he descended from the very top of the arena, the spike aimed straight for Kraken Tom's skull. Leo fully ignored his father, portaling over to the unconscious Indigo.
The first thing he saw was a massive crack on Indigo's shell. It covered over two thirds of his carapace! That was bad, that was really fucking bad.
Blood was gushing from the crack, making Leo truly feel sick. He pushed past it, forcing all the lessons from Splinter to the forefront of his mind.
First check for a pulse.
He pressed his fingers to the shorter turtle's neck, sighing in relief when he felt the weak but frantic beating of his heart. Leo pulled out his fanny packs, grabbing as much gauze as possible to stuff into the crack to try and slow the bleeding. He covered it with medical tape, flipping the turtle over to look at his front.
It wasn't much better.
His right arm was bent at an awkward angle. The chest plate looked like it got run over by a tractor. At least it saved his plastron from some of the damage. His breathing was short, clearly strained. Most likely injured ribs.
A bruising bloody gash was on his head, probably what knocked him out cold. So definitely add a concussion to the list.
And that's just the wounds he can see. There is probably so much internal damage.
Leo gulped, summoning a portal before gently pushing Indigo inside. This portal led to the medbay of the lair.
This was surely breaking the terms of the deal he made with Big Mama, if she found out.
She wasn't watching him, her attention was stuck solely on dad, her expression furious.
She doesn't need to know.
The crowd was cheering like crazy at their victory. They had won, they took down the fucking Kraken!
"It's a knockout folks!" The announcer yelled excitedly as the blood colored petals fell from the ceiling. Leo gulped nervously, flicking the petals off.
Play it cool, don't let anyone know.
"They love you pops!" Leo said with fake enthusiasm.
"It was all you, my son!" Splinter replied, making Leo cringe. Not it wasn't 'all him' it was him and Indigo.
"Silence!" Big Mama shrieked as she landed in front of them. Leo plastered the fakest smug look onto his face.
"Just the spider I was coming to gloat to." All six of those Scarlet eyes were rolled.
"I am not one to be outmaneuvered my turtley boo. Well done. And now a deal is a deal. And as a sign of respect, I shall return this Shredder beast to his prison dimension if you catch him." She handed him the Bauble, making Leo's shoulders sag in relief.
Time to get the fuck out of here, stop the Shredder and head back home to patch up Indigo.
When the father son duo landed in front of the others, Leo instantly felt his stomach clench.
The dread was so heavy in the air you could smell it.
Leo hopped off of a squished Splinter, ignoring the freezing cold rain splattering over his skin, washing the bits of dried blood away.
"You love us, you missed us, we’re back, baby! Lou jitsu and Blue saving the day!" Leo barked with fake optimism, can't let the mask slip now. That lasted all of two seconds Raph shot him the deadliest of glares.
"It’s about time! We’re getting our butts kicked after you left us high and dry." Leo gulped, trying not to shake. They weren't the only ones left high and dry.
"High and dry? Come on dudes. Well, when I said ‘You got this’ I mean that. Look I bet the only reason we’re here right now is ‘cause Donnie inputted coordinates of blah blibbity blah blah blah! Donnie looked so utterly drained.
"Mikey razzed his tazz." Mikey was shaking like a leaf, whimpering softly.
"April finally used her crane license." April winked at Leo, at least she didn't seem too miserable.
"And Raph’s gonna put it all together in a plan to defeat that lead head with this mystic collar." He held up the collar, it shined brightly against the rain.
"Wow Leo, that’s remarkably accurate." Raph said, avoiding the slider's gaze. Suddenly there was a flash of magenta light, causing everyone to tense up nervously.
"He's back!" Raph gasped as the Shredder began to take form. "Prepare for Operation Fire Hanky Tickle collar! Leo, you sure you can get that on him?" Raph asked, grabbing Leo's arm.
Leo nodded, no shred of doubt in his eyes.
"Trust me!"
"I do." Raph let go of his arm.
Together with a fire distraction from Mikey, a blindfold hanky from Donnie and tickling from Raph Leo managed to get the collar around the Shredder's neck. The shredder crumpled to the ground, completely immobile.
Everyone began to cheer.
"Perfectly flasmogoric. You turtles are not to be trifled with." Big Mama stated calmly as she walked towards the turtles in human form. Lines of guards surrounded the turtles. No way to escape.
Leo stepped forward, trying to keep a neutral expression.
"One tamed, no longer phasing. Scrap metal psycho ready for your disposal!" Big Mama chuckled, gesturing to her masked assistant to step forward.
"You did your part So I will do mine." The assistant threw a device into the air, sucking up the Shredder. Once he was gone everyone cheered before scrambling into the sewers completely exhausted.
Leo sprinted through the sewers, ignoring his family's alarmed protests.
"We gotta help Indigo come on!" He shouted, charging through the sewer tunnels.
"Who's Indigo?" Mikey shouted at the top of his lungs.
"You brought him home?" Splinter yelled, Leo ignored him, getting closer and closer to the lair.
"Leo!"
"Leo what are you doing slow down!"
A metal pincer grabbed onto Leo's shell, dragging him backwards. Leo looked up at Donnie's annoyed eyes, suddenly feeling the whole weight of his family on him.
"Alright, who is Indigo?" Raph asked, that classic big brother concern coming through.
Leo was currently trying to squirm away from the metal pincers, there wasn't any time for this!
"One of the fighters from the Battle Nexus!" Splinter's tail smacked Leo's head, earning a whine from the boy. "You didn't seriously bring that maniac home? Did you?"
He did not just say that.
"Are you fucking serious? Indigo helped us! He saved you from Kraken Tom!"
Splinter crossed his arms, grumbling under his breath.
"Besides, he got hurt really bad and we gotta help him!"
"Like we didn't get injured!" Donnie scoffed, trembling a bit.
"His shell was cracked so hard it was bleeding so bad I had to stuff the crack with gauze so don't fucking act like shell injuries are not a big deal you fucking hypocrite." Everyone's eyes went wide.
"Wait he's hurt!" April chimed in.
"Yes! That's why we have to get back home so I can patch him up so he doesn't die!"
"Then portal us home! Quick!" Mikey handed Leo the ōdachi, when did he lose it? It doesn't matter.
The sword was swung around, the blue light illuminating the dark sewer tunnels.
When everyone stepped through, Leo sprinted to the medbay. When he got there, there was a streak of blood on the cot, leading to the floor. But no Indigo to be found.
"Where is he! He was supposed to be right here!" Leo screamed, looking around the cot. No Indigo.
"He's not here?" Donnie asked, nearly gagging at the blood stains. A drop of something landed on Donnie's head. He wiped his fingers, revealing a small red streak. More drips landed on Donnie, making him squeal before backing up.
"What the?" Before they could blink a blur of black and red lunged from the ceiling, tackling Donnie to the floor. Left hand pinned to the softshell turtle's throat, the right holding a dagger, ready to strike.
"Indigo no! Get off of him, he's my brother!" Leo pleaded to the turtle. Indigo looked up, bizarre eyes unfocussed as he swayed on top of Donnie.
"Shelldon activate the defense protocol!" Donnie hissed into his cracked wrist band.
"Dude its ok, this is Donnie." Leo began, trying to try the scissors out of Indigo's iron grip. "Sure he can be the most annoying person on the planet-"
"I heard that!"
"But he won't hurt you! Promise!"
Indigo didn't move, staring up at Leo.
For just a moment, his eyes seemed to change color.
Not the bluish-purple hue rimmed with yellow Leo had grown familiar with today but pure dark blue, like the ocean's depths. His eyes rolled into the back of his head before he flopped onto Donnie.
The softshell screamed, thrashing about while complaining that Indigo was all "icky and disgusting, covered in blood and sweat." Leo pulled the shorter turtle off, looking at the rest of his family who was standing in the doorway.
Yeah that was not the best introduction in the world.

I honestly kinda get but kinda don't get Lanolins angle.
Like Silver knows Duo is Mimic as he was potentially almost killed by him but he when he tells Lanolin, he doesn't actually provide any proof. Same goes for Whisper, she just says that Duo is Mimic and THEN trys to prove it which seems to mean putting Duo in danger or atleast risk of injury. From Lanolins POV, it probably looks like these 2 well respected team members are bullying the newbie with a weak excuse and are progressively getting more aggressive, escalating name calling to physical harm.
She didn't really know Silver personally before this Duo problem and probably thinks he's just a vindictive person who still hasn't gotten over Duo 'running off to get help'. With Whisper, I presume she just thinks she's being paranoid which when you have a nemesis like Mimic it something that could happen. Plus I don't think Whisper had actually properly told Lanolin just how dangerous Mimic can be so Mimic might not register that high of a threat since he isn't exactly destroying citys like Eggman or the Zeti.
However, I don't understand why she's taking the direction she is. She's incredibly disrespectful of Silver which I can only presume is because she now thinks he's a bully (otherwise I can't think of a reason) and she's incredibly disrespectful of Whisper, I could see her annoyance for Silver maybe bleeding over to Whisper now she's on his side but it feels very meh.
I feel like if Lanolin just had a page to explain her train of thought then alot of this could be sorted and I hope she actually starts giving Duo the side eye since now 2 people are saying he's Mimic.
I think you nicely describe the issues I see with this current plot, yes.
I mentioned it in my ask to Beevean as well, but this entire plot is fully dependent on not letting characters do or say entirely reasonable things we can expect of them, as to not fall apart. In issue 63 alone, Silver should have provided proof, namely that he got kicked, and Whisper should have backed him up, because she literally says later that she saw it herself as well. Silver also should have said that Duo's face changed to something super ominous, because in that same scene with Whisper later he says he saw so! And Lanolin, Whisper and Tangle should have noticed that Duo says to them he couldn't do anything to help Silver, but that Silver says Duo just ran away without saying anything while Duo himself protests he was 'getting help'. This isn't a small thing, this is Silver literally nearly dying because of Duo's (in)actions, and there could not be a greater discrepancy between what Duo first tells the girls ("I couldn't do anything") and then later says to defend himself against Silver ("I was getting help"). There is so many should have's, but all of these will make the dramatic irony plot fall apart, so the characters cannot say them! And thus we get the highly unfair scene of Lanolin immediately picking Duo's side and tearing into the literal saviour of the world as if she's his boss (no, Silver is not part of the Diamond Cutters, he's just training with them) and knows far more about heroing and psychic powers than he does (ma'am, in your first mission in the field ever Whisper, you, and Sonic got captured and Tangle almost got shot right through her head). Silver meanwhile is mischaracterised as immediately folding under that scolding, Whisper suddenly becomes a coward who does not back Silver up until all is said and done, and Tangle does not point out Lanolin is being overly bossy again. So basically in that scene, everyone is written terribly, but it is a necessity to keep the plot going. In that way, I can accept it is not fully Lanolin's fault that she doesn't know what is going on, because she's stuck in a badly-written plot with all the above should have's ensuring that she'll nicely not find out the truth until it is too late... but her terrible personality and constant immediate defending of Duo do not help in her figuring anything out, either.
And besides, Lanolin does, or at least should, know Silver's feats. She was there for the Metal Virus Arc where Super Sonic and Super Silver saved the entire world! Duo literally confirms people not allied with the Restoration at that time know of Angel Island! Silver was part of the Resistance for six months! He's got tons of credibility and a presence during prior events where he absolutely necessary to stop things from going to shit to back him up, where he was a team player and overall a very helpful person. We are never shown where her sudden disdain for him comes from, meaning we can only fill it with theorising that link right back to the should have's (e.g. "She thinks Silver is irresponsible because he nearly dropped those rocks on her!" -> Silver should have pointed out he dropped them because Duo kicked him). As for Whisper, from what I can tell Lanolin does indeed not know that Mimic specifically is the one who betrayed Whisper's old team... but instead of doing something more sensible like asking "Why do you think that?" or "Why would he do that?" when Whisper accuses Duo of being Mimic, she instead becomes defensive immediately. No surprise, no shock, no concern, just immediate defensive anger with her usual pissed off I Can't Stand You Actually facial expression. Why does she trust Whisper so little that she can't even hear her out normally? Why does she immediately assume Whisper is lying when she is presented with such an outlandish claim (too outlandish to come up with out of nowhere, imo) that still indicates they could all be in terrible danger? I can accept the idea that she thinks Silver is still mad about nearly being eaten by a Giant Chopper, but why did she react in the way she did to Whisper, who by that point had done nothing to indicate she should not be listened to?
And like, adding to that... why would Lanolin assume that Silver and Whisper suddenly are bullying Duo anyway, when neither has shown him any badwill beforehand? Whisper was totally down with him joining the team since they needed volunteers, no issues there. Silver was friendly to him until the Chopper incident, with not a hint of bad blood or envy or whatever negative emotion you might ascribe to it. And you are right: we are never shown why Lanolin is so protective of Duo, just that she values the newbie far more than a teammate she's been on a mission with before and the actual saviour of the past and future. Lanolin is written like an altogether terrible leader (cannot de-escalate situations and only makes them worse, clearly favouring one member over the others for no reason, cannot hear all parties out first before immediately jumping onto the defense) and to me as just a rude, unpleasant character on top, and we simply don't know 1. why, and 2. if this is intentional in a 'meta' sense. Nobody calls her out on her behaviours, but we do see that characters like Tangle are quite disheartened by her words and actions, and she herself admits she's bossy. So she's a character aware of her flaws who does nothing to become better: how nice. But overall, there's a lot of questions around why Lanolin acts the way she does, and why she can easily be taken as altogether hating her teammates (if her facial expressions around them are anything to go by) or at least not trusting them. And the comic is doing very little to answer such questions or indicate if we should root for Lanolin because she's 'doing her best' or dislike her for her nasty personality instead, unfortunate as that is.
So yeah... I don't know what is going to happen. All I know is that I do not care for it much: Silver's got quite the happy ending with someone who actually respects him and listens to him, and that is all I can ask for, haha. At most, I would love it if Mimic gave Lanolin the callout of a lifetime for trusting his random ass over the two far more experienced people around her, and allowing him an easy escape with her constant interrupting, distrusting, and scolding of her teammates so that he didn't have to keep scrambling for excuses. And if Lanolin admits she's been a terrible leader who only escalated things further with her actions and who clearly does not respect her team members for no reason, that would be nice too. We'll see what happens: I am going to predict there'll be absolutely zero consequences for Lanolin and her behaviours and actions, then it can only become better, haha.

🌹" That sounds like a threat Draco. You better watch yourself and who you threaten...." It would only be a matter of years before they will all be learning hard and more dangerous spells. Sure the blond had a step up on Harry in terms of study but a spell doesn't have to be dangerous to be effective.
As she was already showing with a simple levitation spell. Harry was getting by somehow though. He'd made it this far with small problems, sure Draco was petty but it could only get him so far.
"So this snake is yellow-bellied. Good to know that if one ever needs your help not to ask for it. There's being reasonable and then theirs making a habit of being a coward Malfoy. Then again, since you strive to be your father I guess you get it from him." If he wanted to bring parents into this then she'll shoot. There were so many things that the witch could pull to embarrass the young Malfoy.
Then again perhaps even bad publicity was still publicity? Rose doubted that really hard when most wizarding families tried to keep their noses clean nowadays.
Rose turned to face Harry," I would believe that you aspire to be good at Quidditch, correct? Youngest Seeker in a century if I recall and it's a talent your father had? I'd say that's an aspiration if anything" She was flat-out ignoring the blond at this point trying to fill the air with something more pleasant.
Too bad the fellow Slyithern knew how to anger her now. Why was it so funny to him that someone not having proper parental units was a good thing? Nobody asked to be an orphan after all.
"I did not know you lived with your aunt as well Harry....though....just that you lived with Muggles...." She didn't like the sarcasm coming from Draco on the matter. The touchy subject really if he could joke about something like that. Then again perhaps she'd never hear him be serious with Potter as the main topic.
Her head snapped back to Malfoy her milky eyes filled with rage." Do not speak ill of my father, your family especially. At least he confessed to his crimes and has taught me plenty. My aunts take me to see him during the summer for your information." Rose hated going to Azbakan, it was an awful and cold place. Darkest of the dark and being she'd been bathed/ born in it that was saying something.
Honestly, it was one good thing that the two had once a year though Rose felt awful about it being that the Dementors would just suck all that happiness away in the end.
"With great power comes great responsibility. Yes, it is indeed the wrong manner to use one's brilliance but ....perhaps one-day things will change. After all, this is only our second year....unless Malfoy is going for a record of being the most annoying person in the wizarding world. If that's the case he might gain it by the end of the year~" She smirked and giggled covering her mouth so that the noise didn't get too far.
She really was trying to give him encouragement that not everything was what it seemed but perhaps he'd just been beaten down too hard for the day. The brunette couldn't blame him on the matter and shook her head. " I keep being told that such brattiness is 'acting our age or kids will be kids' nonsense really ....."
Rose wanted to be shocked that nobody had told him about his father's lineage, bizarre and unfair. Then again, perhaps that's why they sent him to live with Muggles? So that he didn't become like Malfoy?
"Yes, all three of our families are part of the famous grouping of families. Even your friend Ron....though ......" It was clear she was looking to find the proper words. "...... Sometimes horrible things happen to good families..."
Rose had nothing against the Wheasly family, though her aunts did being that they didn't care for how 'mutty' they looked. The young witch thought it funny given the eldest of the triplet aunts had just as wild and crazy ginger curls.
"Hmm, perhaps I'll just ask my aunts in my next owl... perhaps they can give me a little help.....or maybe they can teach us how to turn Malfoy into a cat .... it's what my Aunts do with naught muggle kids around our place~" Another round of giggling. 🌹

CHAPTER 15: "Light Within Darkness"
| My Happiness | Chapter List |
Previous | Next ------------------
[ C H A N ]
I watched my phone get filled with notifications. Hansol left me messages that I couldn't find myself responding to. He says nothing happened between them, but a part of me still worries whether or not that may be true for him. But what about Subin?
I ended up not paying attention in class and finding myself alone with my thoughts on my drive home. I left my radio off and let my eyes watch the dark road. There was questions running through my head.
Why was Hansol there?
Why was she hugging him?
What happened before I got there?
What is it that she wanted to tell me before I ran off?
What was it that I didn't know...
I hit the breaks as I almost ran a red. I felt my car jerk forward from the abrupt stop. I widened my eyes as I try to wake myself up.
"Get a grip," I tell myself. "You don't even know what's going on."
I tighten my grip on the steering wheel. I wanted to see her, but I don't know if I'm ready to hear what she has to say.
What if by all this, she doesn't like me.
A part of me was believing this, but another part of me wanted to ask her. But it felt too soon to get an answer from her. That topic is something I can always ask later.
Her eyes were teary before I left.
What made her cry?
Or was it someone?
Is that why Hansol was there? What happened?
I felt mad. Not at Subin. Not at Hansol. But at myself. Why am I such a coward? I made it this far yet I'm still scared to push forward...
I got home and I made my way to my room. My parents and halmeoni greeted me. They recently came back from their trip to Jeju Island, and I tried my best to greet them back. They asked about my day, but all I said was that I'm tired.
I couldn't tell them the truth.
My room was dark and I dropped myself onto my bed. I heard a notification come from my phone. I turned my head off my pillow to look at the messages Hansol might be sending still.
Subin: Are you okay?
I felt myself sit up from her message. How was I going to respond to her? I felt my jaw clench as I thought about what I could say to her. I didn't want to lie to her, but I also didn't want to tell the truth.
Chan (me): I'm okay
I am okay. I'm not currently at my best, but I know I'm not at my worst. I just... have too much on my mind. Her next message made my heart skip a beat. I knew she would message me tonight, but having it happen still gets me nervous.
Subin: Can I call you?
I felt myself smile, but another part of me didn't want to talk to her. I was still scared of what she'll have to say, but I knew hiding wouldn't solve anything. It'll only make matters worst.
Chan (me): You can call me. I don't mind.
My phone began to ring. I took a deep breath and answered her call.
"Hello?"
"...Hi Chan."
Hearing her voice made my heart skip a beat.
~
I stood outside her home. I don't know how many times I went over the speed limit or how many times I had to swerve around a car, but I had to see her. She told me what happened and I felt like a complete jackass.
How could I be so selfish? How could I leave her like that?
She needed me and I left her.
I was angry at myself. I should have listened to Hansol and spoke to her. I should have came straight here instead of going home. I should have spoke to her before I ran off.
Her gate door opened and there stood Subin along with her siblings. They had their luggages and Hansol was nowhere in sight.
Subin stood there with her face remaining stoic. She might have cried all her tears. Behind her, her sister seemed angry and her brother was annoyed. When their eyes met mine, it was like their emotions went 180. It reminded me of how they were happy to see me earlier today. It felt good knowing the liked me.
Before they could speak, I motioned them to come inside my car. They quickly followed suit.
"THANK YOU!" Her sister said with glee.
"Thank you, hyung!" Her brother hollered after her.
I felt Subin's eyes on me. I turned to look at her. She was trying to hold herself together, but I can see her sniffle.
"Thank you, Chan," she whispered.
Her eyes matched mine. I wanted to hug her, but I restrained myself. Did she want me to hug her? What if she pushes me away?
All I could do was nod my head and help her with her luggage. After moving their things to my trunk, Subin went back to her house before quickly turning to tell her siblings to stay put.
Her sister was reluctant, but her younger brother held her down.
"Would you just stay put, Noona!?" he hollered.
"I want to help, Unnie!" She retorts.
"Well you can't! And if you don't listen she won't like you anymore!" He spat.
She gave him a dirty look and the two began to bicker. I stared at them for a moment and smiled at their behavior. Atleast Subin has her siblings during these trying times.
I stared at the front door Subin left open. I followed after her.
Upon entering their home one last time, I went to her room to see if she was there. Her room was left with their furniture, but their sheets were nowhere in sight.  Their drawers were opened with nothing left almost like the place was abandoned- which it soon will be.
I heard a loud noise, and I followed it. I wandered to the room on the other side of the house. Subin must be over there.
I peaked my head through the open door and saw chaos unfold. Subin was digging through drawers and checking underneath the bed as though something was hidden.
The room was bland and smelled like cigarettes. There was also a scent that I didn't recognize mixed within the air. Was that... drugs? I couldn't tell?
Subin looked over at me with anxiety written all over her face.
"Help me find a pack of white powder," she quickly says as she picks up a worn out bat underneath the bed.
I stood there dumbfounded. I thought back to the conversation I had with her on the phone.
"Did your parents really leave drugs here?" I ask her as I check each drawer she already opened.
She looked at me with worry but she seemed calmer than before. "I-I don't know. But if we leave and those men don't find it here- who knows what they might do. Worst case scenarios is that they might hunt down my siblings."
Her voice was nervous yet determined. She had a lot on her shoulders. She then swung the bat against the stained wall with a loud thud and it began to bend back. I watched as she continued to swing the bat with all her might.
"I have to find it. I've been looking for it ever since they showed up, but all I could find was papers filled with unpaid bills." She spoke as she swung. Her brows were narrowed. She had so much intent.
I hate how she has to deal with this. I walked over to her before she could swing it again. She looked over at me with surprise before I gestured for the bat.
She watched as I broke down the wall with a few swings. The walls pieces began to crumble apart before deteriorating to the ground. I walked towards the opening and checking the inside of the wall. There was wooden structure that held the foundation of the home with fiberglass insulation placed neatly.
It looked like a normal wall. My eyes wandered to Subin who began to follow the wall's structure. She was knocking on the surface like there would be a response. I watched her walk over the mess while her eyes remained on one spot in the room.
It was like she was a radar.
"My parents would often come to their room, and when they did, I always heard them move things around. At first I thought they were having sex, but the noises didn't sound like it." She talked about it as if it were a natural topic.
The mention of sex through me off guard. I tried not to look at her because of the sudden images that came to mind.
She continued to speak as she stood at their opened closet sliding door.
"Now that I think about it... it always did stink whenever they left their door open." She went inside the closet and I followed her to watch what she could be doing.
She knock on the wall in the closet. It sounded hollow unlike the wall from before.
"They would say they're renovating," she whispered. "The sound that I would hear was like a wall being taken apart."
She was quiet for a moment before looking over at me. She gestured for the bat and I watched her ready to swing at the wall.
"If it wasn't going to be on that side, maybe it'll be over here." Her voice was low with focus.
The wall began to rip open as if it were made out poorly. We both looked at each other before quickly tearing apart the wall with our bare hands. Everything she told me- it made me worry more about her.
We froze once we saw a glimpse of an object.
There laid a suitcase that looked a little too new.
I watched as she hesitantly opened it. A sudden sense of danger came over me. I grabbed her hand before she could touch the object.
"Don't," I tell her. "We don't know what's inside there."
Her eyes looked deep into mine before staring at our hands together. I felt a rush of panic come over me.
"Sorry," I say. I looked away from her. I felt too embarrassed. I can already feel my face grow red. I didn't plan on holding her hand, but it just happened.
I heard a snort come out of her. I quickly turned around. Was she laughing?
She covered her mouth as she tried to hide her laughter and soft snorts. I gazed at her. She had such a cute laugh.
"Sorry," she whispered as she fixed herself.
I felt my lips curl. "Don't apologize."
Her eyes met with mine and I felt my heart skip a beat.
God, she's beautiful.
She quickly turned away to look back at the object we almost forgot about.
"So what do we do with this then?" She asks me.
I narrowed my brows as I thought of possible solutions.
"We can't let your fingerprints be on it," I tell her. "They could use it against you. Let's leave it. Maybe those men you spoke about will find what they're looking for."
She nodded her head. "So I should just leave a note?"
I hummed. "Yeah. That's for the best."
Before leaving the scene within the house, I took a photo of the suitcase for keepsakes. Who knows when we'll need it. Meanwhile, Subin left a note on the soban. I watched as she took one good look of her home before coming outside with me.
"Let's go, Chan," she tells me.
Together, we left the place. Her siblings eagerly waited for us and immediately asked what we did. Subin said she would tell them later and in return the two pouted. Her siblings soon fell asleep on the car ride to my house, and I would watch every time Subin would turn around to check on them.
She was quiet for most of the car ride. That was until a notification came through my phone. My eyes wandered to the message once we reached a red light.
Hansol: Wonwoo said he'll look deep into her parents.
Hansol: He'll contact you in the morning. Don't be surprised if you get a call before the sunrises. Hansol: Call me when he does. I still feel bad about what happened earlier today.
I carefully read his newest messages before smiling. I shouldn't have misjudged Hansol. He's been a good friend throughout my years of knowing him even knowing how to solve most of my problems.
He says he isn't great at helping, but without him, I wouldn't know what to do. Hansol was always quick when he had to be. He may be clueless at first, but whenever he gets time to think, that's when he's at best.
The mention of Wonwoo gave me brief flashbacks of high school. It's been awhile since I've heard about Wonwoo ever since he became a detective. He was always quiet, but now he's just a mystery. That hyung was always secretive even more so than Hansol. Who knows what he's like now.
I wonder how Hansol was able to contact him? Last I heard he changed his number. I saw Subin look at me. She seemed interested on what was going on.
"Is that Hansol?" She asks me.
"Yeah," I tell her. I hit the gas once the light turned green. "We have an old friend from high school that became a detective. Hansol said that he's going to help you."
I felt her eyes on me, but I was too busy looking at the road. She was quiet for a moment as though she was processing my words.
"Chan," she calls out to me.
I hummed in response.
"How long have you known Hansol?"
The mention of his name through me off guard, but I know she was just trying to get to know us better. Hansol has always stuck around me along with having the habit of bothering her. I don't blame her for being curious.
"Hansol and I met in the same high school you and I attended." My eyes were careful to make sure I could see the dark road. "We were in the same class and I approached him since he kept to himself."
I wasn't sure if I should tell her the whole story. It didn't feel right if I did. After all, Hansol never liked talking about what happened in high school.
I could hear her hum. "I see."
I smiled. "Yeah. Ever since then we've been having each other's backs."
She was quiet, but in the corner of my eye I could see her smiling. She must be imaging how we were like in high school since I didn't have class with her. She was always busy or gone because of her family.
I felt bad not telling her the whole truth, but it was for the best.
I couldn't tell her what really happened. Hansol and I did meet in high school as classmates, but we didn't meet in class.
We met on the rooftop where he almost took his life.

TRIGGER WARNING: Discussion of cancer
Smiffina Episodes - Episode 327
Jonathan arrives at the hospital to collect Gina after she's had to stay for treatment, telling her she looks exhausted and admonishing her for planning to head into work. Gina says if he doesn't take her she'll just get a taxi in so he reluctantly agrees.
Gina arrives, looking dead on her feet and tells Dan and Tony to hurry up and move the van thats in the yard. They promise they will but due to having to hand the case to CID it gets delayed and Gina isn't happy. She asks June to cover if there's any problems with uniform as she has a report for the Borough Commander she has to get done by lunchtime. She looks decidely ropey and is clearly in pain but will not give in or go home.
Towards the end of the shift, Gary has to tell her that they've rearrested the man and had to bring the van back in. Gina looks deathly pale and all the fight has gone out of her, telling Gary that it's absolutely fine. She rings Jonathan. "Jonathan, it's me... you're absolutely right, I can't do this. Can you come and take me home?"
Jonathan does exactly that, by the time he gets her home she's so weak she can't bend to collect her post. He checks Gina's fridge and sees it's almost bare, telling her gently off for not looking after herself outside of the treatment. Gina as usual brushes it off, though she has to use the walls and furniture to support her as she walks and is clearly struggling and in pain. She admits she was just looking for a bit of sympathy - she's clearly lowered her barriers again with him as the Gina of old would never have admitted that, or allowed him to give her lifts - or admit he was right about her not being able to work after being at the hospital.
Gina tells Jonathan that she enjoys her job and the order and stability it offers in a world where she doesn't have much control over anything else at the moment. She tells him she hasn't run away from the illness like he suggests and that she doesn't run away from things. "You ran away from me."
Jonathan gently questions her about relationships and Gina admits she never really thought about settling down as the job was always there and had less flaws than relationships. When she was 10 she always thought bookies worked 15 hour days as her father was never home. He had his fingers in many pies including criminal ones and she saw through him as a liar and a coward as well as many other things. She remembers him coming home during the early hours whilst Gina was trying to get her mother up off the kitchen floor whilst she was out cold from another vallium 'trip' and he saw his young daughter struggling with her unresponsive mother... and just took himself out again, leaving Gina to cope. With her parents as her example - settling down was not something she aspired to. She admits it closed her off to having to rely on another person for anything - even asking Jonathan to pick her up from the hospital is a major breakthrough and he laughs, telling her he's honoured. Gina smiles, telling him that she doesn't want him to think she's unhappy - she's not, she likes her life. She says she has regrets as everyone does... and she wishes she'd met Jonathan 30 years ago. She tells him she really is trying to take steps towards commitment and trust and he admits that he knows, and says he wants to stay good friends. Gina's face falls... she wants more, but unfortunately Jonathan is already seeing someone else and has been for a couple of months.
Instantly the barriers come slamming back down again and she physically moves away from him and asks him to go. Jonathan protests, saying he doesn't like leaving her. "I'll be fine. Aren't I always?" she insists, asking him to go again, swallowing back tears when he gives in and leaves.
