That comma

Or, connections my brain makes when I don't sleep well for over a week because of a cold - read at your own risk :)

"I went to one meeting ten years ago. They were wittering on about the Christmas lights and passed a resolution condemning the improper use of apostrophes on signs in windows." (Mr. Arnold, s2e5)

This line always makes me laugh because I get super twitchy about certain grammar and punctuation errors. But errors happen, and you can usually tell what someone meant vs. what they wrote, so you correct it in your mind based on what you presume they meant and move on because there are bigger things to worry about in the world. Right?

Maybe we shouldn't always be so quick to presume and move on, though. Sometimes, things are supposed to be written a certain way for a reason. That reason is important, so we're taught the right way to write that thing. We all learn how to do it, and it's generally not something we screw up because there are consequences for doing it wrong. Like an address, for example. Addresses tell something or someone where to go. Maybe to a pub called The Resurrectionist - that one's at 66 Goat Gate in Edinburgh, right? It said so on the record that Maggie gave Aziraphale:

Except - there's this annoying little comma in there that I've been ignoring for months. Right after the 66. Exactly where it shouldn't be - not if you're writing a street address. So I'm going to stop ignoring it and ask a question.

Is this actually a street address? I'm not questioning that the pub is in Edinburgh - that's well-established. It's that middle line - 66, Goat Gate - that I'm not sure of anymore. I'm having trouble making excuses for that comma.

If it isn't a street address, then what is it? I'm not sure, and I don't know if we have all the information to figure it out. My sleep-deprived brain has come up with a couple of crazy questions and ideas though. Starting with - what if the Clue is actually multiple Clues? What if we've just been thinking about the pub, but that second line contains a separate clue or clues about Edinburgh, so that Aziraphale Knows Where [He's] Going? (see what I did there?)

These ideas do require an assumption that we shouldn't just take season 2 at face value, but they aren't tied to any specific theories like time loops, dreams, etc.

This post from onceuponathyme about references to the number 66 in the show and promo posters, and gallup24's comment that the press pass in Newspaperman!Aziraphale's hat also has the number 66 on it got me thinking about whether the "address" and the hat are meant to be connected. The references to the number 66 could be an easter egg - the Book of Revelations is the 66th book of the Bible. But is it an in-show clue, too? Is the 66 on Everyday single telling Aziraphale to wear it on his hat, maybe as a signal to someone? ("The clarinet, it makes beautiful music.")

Moving on to Goat Gate. It could still be the name of a road. I have two other ideas though:

We've already seen goats turned into crows. Gate is an old term that can mean road or street. Goat Gate = Crow Road? (I don't know that I love this, but I'll put it out there anyway.)

There's also the symbolism of goats tied to Hell, Satan, and Crowley in particular - drconstellation has a lovely meta about sheep vs goats, so I'm not going to go any farther into that. But I do want to stay on Crowley, and the second place we see Aziraphale - the cemetery.

Not quite this, but I can find a gif for just about every other part of the scene except for the line I'm looking for. The one where after a bunch of hilarious noises, he says, "Do I sound like a goat?"

And then, a short while later...

The ground opens up (a gate to Hell?), and Crowley disappears, pulled down to Hell. And then we get one continuous shot of Aziraphale turning around in that spot that starts in 1827 and ends in present day.

We still don't know exactly why Aziraphale went to the cemetery. Maybe "Goat Gate" is the clue that sent him there?

One final thing I noticed in that episode that feels a little off to me now - Crowley's reaction when Aziraphale calls and asks him if he remembers Mr. Dalrymple. "Oh yeah, not a doctor, a mister! Whatever happened to him?" It's surprisingly normal and relaxed, considering what happened at the end of the night, isn't it?

I got bored in church today so I started coming up with band headcanons for the chain so here (sorry it’s really long I’m a huge band nerd)

concert band:

time - flute. he’s just the whimsical type to play flute, also he can go incredibly high and his fingers probably blur cuz of how fast he’s playing

twilight - baritone/euphonium. twi just seems like that mellow yet determined type, though he will get very aggressive if you call it a “mini-tuba”

warriors - trumpet. I don’t think I need to elaborate.

wind - trombone. wind is 100% a trombone kid- making jokes 24/7 and whether their funny or not is a 50/50. he blasts super loud to annoy everyone but he’s low key amazing at playing

four - four stumped me a bit. I’m not too 100% sure because his personality is rather complicated (hahahsrhjrjfjajajahz), but I think he’d play alto sax. he can play the others too; tenor, soprano and bari (ITS 5X HIS SIZE AHAHA).

legend - trumpet. he’d be first chair and extremely smug about it, though he’s so insanely good at trumpet. he makes a 3 octave instrument 5 octaves. he snarks a whole ton at the rest of his section and constantly has to put people in place (people aka warriors).

hyrule - flute. also very whimsical along with time. :) he seems like that happy type and just likes the flute cuz it makes a pretty sound. yes hyrule we love you for that <3

wild - percussion. so obviously percussion. he’s extremely good at everything in the back. he loves to double up on mallets (holding two mallets in each hand) and go ham. he can make it sound very pretty tho :) he can do fancy things with drumsticks and the metronome fears HIM. he also summons demons in the back of class during warm ups (very proud of him. if you couldn’t tell, I’m a percussionist).

sky - let’s be honest, he’d be in orchestra (what a traitor /pf). but if he were in band he’d defo play clarinet. very soft and mellow, and does the instrument justice. very attentive in class and definitely a teachers pet yet not to the extent it’s annoying. he just really enjoys being there.

jazz band:

time - he would play alto sax but would definitely do flute cameos whenever he could. he likes making the crowd go “WOAH! A FLUTE IN JAZZ? THATS EPIK”

twilight - I think he’d learn trombone for jazz. amazing at improvising and his solos are astounding round of applause for twilight 👏👏

warriors - still trumpet, he loves jazz and quite good at the whole concept. 10/10 he loves those high notes in his solos

wind - still trombone. he likes playing around with glissandos and very good at them. his playing is very fun and interesting!

four - i think he’d do piano despite the fact he has 4 saxes to choose from. a god at music theory and has so much fun with the piano. four’s fingers can stretch impossibly far to reach keys. that boy loves his soloing!

legend - trumpet as well. nothings really changed, he likes smooth jazz and you cannot change my mind. he’s usually pretty nonchalant about jazz but he secretly has so much fun with it.

hyrule - electric bass. he loves to have funky solo’s and makes it all look super easy. he can get super energetic and start having *too* much fun in which the band director needs to tell him to calm down 💀

wild - DRUMSEEET! my boy can really rock out on this thing. he really knows how to make the song interesting without being overpowering (sometimes). really good at making things pop

sky - upright bass! that lil guy loves his bass and rather shy with solos, preferring to let others do the solos. he downplays his 11/10 improvisation. which is stupid sky you are amazing at bass

extra headcanons:

time and hyrule would talk a lot in class despite the fact time tries to pay attention. those two have so much dirt on the rest of the band and they KNOW it.

wild and four like to go early before rehearsal to just screw around. whether it be remixing music or just straight up doing some crack stuff, they have a blast.

wind would help twilight with trombone since he’s still a bit new to it. even though he can be a bit annoying to the band, wind is a great teacher and twilight is improving a lot.

wind and warriors would be the evil duo of “who can blast the loudest”. everyone in the band despises them for it.

like I mentioned earlier, warriors is constantly challenging legend or just testing him in which legend blasts warrior’s ego everytime without fail.

more on the double mallets with wild, he quite enjoys making small peaceful songs or finding them to play. if you come early you can hear him practicing and his playing is very soothing. :)

like I said, sky would probably be in orchestra, but I like to think he does both. often doing cameos for both groups, as well. almost like the middle man because the band and orchestra hate it each other, but both agree sky is an exception and everyone cherishes him.

time is the president of the band. everyone loves time. the students and the director. he’s probably one of the best players in the band. extremely mature but in those SMALL moments he’ll do something devious.

twilight is also cherished by the band. he’s very hardworking and has adopted several students. many look up to him as he’s a bit more approachable than time. (time is scary to new people)

though warriors can be annoying, he’d never do anything purposely to screw up the band during performances or whatever. he loves being here even if he’s showing off 24/7.

four is really a jack of all trades when it comes to sax. everyone teases him whenever he plays bari due to the size difference, but no one goes to far because deep down their all scared of the tiny short gremlin who will start speaking in music theory language and confuse everyone.

wow, your still here? 💀 im concerned for your health and mine. really though, if you read all that, I admire your dedication and thanks for listening. there will certainly be more headcanons to come so if you liked this do not fret, it’s not the end. sorry this is so long and sorry for the people who talked in church that I shamelessly tuned out.

Rebels Rewatch: "Legends of the Lasat"

Anyway.

I'm glad we got to visit this moon space base location again, I think it's such an interesting design.

Another tightly-written opening dialogue exposition scene here, in a few short sentences we learn what they Spectres are here for and why, and that the mission is urgent.

Lol Ezra being evasive about Hondo being his contact. I do wonder how exactly Hondo got that transmitter to Ezra. Did they reconnect sometime offscreen? Did Ezra swipe it during "Brothers of the Broken Horn"? Did Hondo surreptitiously leave it in Ezra's pocket?

However it happened, it's adorable that this once-ruthless bloodthirsty greedy pirate basically decided, "I MUST BEFRIEND THE BABY JEDI, HE'S MY FRIEND NOW I CLAIM HIM."

The camerawork in this scene is phenomenal. This first shot that tracks the Spectres and then dollies just around the corner, as if we are also peeking around it with the characters? This fast almost 270 rotating pan across the Spectres as they make short work of the troopers? Stellar.

(You can also tell they had budget to spare for this episode because the Imperial officer has a face. Lol.)

Love it when they let Ezra be casually awesome.

Hera sounds so aggrieved that Hondo is Ezra's contact lol.

And here we get the reveal, Zeb was captain of the High Honor Guard of Lasan. A bit later in the episode we learn this consists of being a bodyguard protector of the royal family specifically and all citizens of Lasan in general. Sooooo yeah, quite a bit of heavy personal guilt for Zeb here, feeling like he, specifically, personally, failed his entire world. Ouch.

Zeb's expressions this scene are painful. :(

Though not so fond that he doesn't immediately screw everyone over, greedy bastard.

I saw Zeb rolling his eyes there, animators.

So Zeb's interactions with Chava and Grond are very much a Spiritualist vs Skeptic plot, with the expected tragic personal reason for the skeptic's doubt and disbelief. It's also heavily implied that the loss of Lasan, that trauma, made Zeb regress in maturity, made him snippier and more petulant and churlish. As Ezra says later Zeb does act "like a child", so perhaps his being cast as the Child archetype in the Prophecy of the Three was not so off base lol.

Ezra has such cute smiles this episode. <3

LOL Hondo's chipper little "Hello!" at the Stormtroopers.

"Well. This must look... incriminating." This man is a delight in every scene.

I mentioned the camerawork right? This is another nice shot here, this pan down from the cockpit to the nose gun turret to meet Zeb.

Subtle animation appreciation moment: The smoke coming from the chimney top of the station.

...Is this Stormtrooper also voiced by David Oyelowo?

Ezra immediately noticing Zeb's scoffing like the empath he is. <3

Love love love seeing the unique cultural way that Lasat interact with the Force, the "Ashla" as they call it, mixed ritual and magitek, prophecies that revolve around certain narrative archetypes and symbolic figures. It's just so cool.

I haven't been talking much about the music yet (oh but believe me we will have much to say on that) but this cue here starts easing just slightly into the mysticism of the Lasat ritual. It's almost Stravinsky-esque in nature, carefully stepping flutes and clarinets, discordant strings. We incorporate just a very soft snippet of the Force theme.

Zeb auto-assuming Ezra is the child.

Lol Hondo putting his arm around that one Stormtrooper's shoulder.

He's so cute asjkhfkajsh. Look at him. He's all like, "Please Dad, can I chant with the weird purple people too?"

HE LOOKS SO FOND AND PROUD AWW.

The score takes a bit of an exotic turn, a mellow arabic flute and possibly a sitar adding to the texture of the melody.

The lighting in this scene egads.

I love this scene I love it so much. Ezra acting as counselor, with his mere presence and curiosity getting Zeb to open up about his past and fears and insecurities. There's so much hurt in Zeb's slumped posture, guilt and grief compete for space in his voice, and I don't think we see him this distraught again until after Kanan's death.

But with Ezra's encouragement, he pulls himself together.

Once again showing off the cool magitek with Chava's staff and Zeb's bo-rifle here and I just love the concept, I love the whole aesthetic of hearing whispers of destiny through the Ashla and then channeling the energy of the universe through arcane, almost magical technology to navigate the stars, like some kind of arcane mariners. And we all thought the bo-rifle was just some kind of standard ordinary weapon, SURPRISE, it's also an ancient Force-magic navicomputer.

And oh wow the parallels with the purrgil next episode and the Chiss sky-walkers in the Thrawn novels.

This is soooooo pretty. The animation here is gorgeous.

After the commercial cut we're in hyperspace and the Ghost is making an almost blind jump out into Wild Space. Hera doesn't seem terribly worried. (Behind the scenes material says she apparently does this all the time.) But the ship's safety protocols flip out when they sense the imploded star cluster and Hera quickly drops them into realspace and one of the most gorgeous moments of the series.

HNNNNNNGHGHHHHH.

This whole sequence is stunning. Some of the best animation of the show, accompanied by one of the best tracks in the score, the star cluster looking like a watercolor spectacle.

And the Stravinsky influenced instrumentation brings the strings front and center; a haunting choir whispers in the background.

Kanan putting one hand on the back of Hera's chair and the other on her shoulder, aww.

Just tell me you wouldn't want this as a wall painting. <3

Chava gives some inspiring words about not pidegonholing oneself into a single role in their prophecy and this motivates Zeb to find a well of inner courage and open himself up to the will of the Ashla.

What I wouldn't give for more on ancient Lasan tech, how their ships must have been designed to integrate with the bo-rifle staffs. It functions as pilot and navigator and also apparently encases the Ghost with a protective shield that keeps it from being crushed by the gravity.

Let that sink in a moment, the staff, when channeling the Force, can literally bend gravity around the ship.

AND AS "JOURNEY INTO THE STAR CLUSTER" WRAPS US IN A VIOLIN SOLO THAT EVOKES MYSTERY AND MYSTICISM KANAN AND EZRA SENSE THEIR HELP IS NEEDED AND CALMLY PLACE HANDS ON ZEB, LIKE THE LAYING OF HANDS DURING CORPORATE PRAYER, AND CHANNEL THE FORCE THROUGH THEM INTO ZEB, WHO LETS IT FLOW THROUGH HIM THROUGH THE RIFLE TO GIVE HIM THE CLARITY OF VISION TO SEE THE WAY THROUGH.

Subtle animation appreciation moment: The sparks that pop from a wall panel on the cruiser as Kallus attempts to have it follow the Ghost.

THE CHOIR COMES IN FULL BLAST.

AND ZEB CLOSES HIS EYES IN FAITH AS THE LIGHT TURNS BLINDING.

Whew! And what a rush! The absolute quiet in the score right afterwards gives us a moment to inhale and catch our breath.

Chopper of course chooses to be a pest, releasing the tension.

Lira San being the ancient lost homeworld of the Lasat fits right in with the whole arcane vibe of their culture, like they were connected to a place and people that time forgot.

And tada, we leave with a character arc complete, a new hyperspace route plotted and everything bathed in an aura of serenity.

This episode is one of the best of Season Two, if not the whole series. Everything comes together beautifully in the third act and the story has a feel of both spiritual transformation and wonder. I've already gushed about how interesting and unique the Lasat culture is, how it's presented as a mix of mysticism and technology, with prophecies and wise women, royal families and warriors, and navigators that explored the stars, guided by the Ashla.

Zeb gets more character growth in one episode than some characters get in a season, and he's largely "finished" after this, his issues with his past resolved. (Which isn't to say I wouldn't have loved more character focus on him, just that this is so phenomenal.) His heart-to-heart with Ezra is touching and illustrates just how close they've grown.

And did I mention this episode was pretty? This episode is super pretty and the music is straight fire.

10/10 no complaints. Would give Kiner my money again.

1. I’m not really a dog person. I’ve had a few family dogs in my life and they’re just way more affectionate than I prefer. Never had a cat bc my dads allergic and also he just hates them for some reason

2. I conceptualize life as games. For example, education (the US eduction system at least) is a long game of memory. The test at the end is just to see how much you can retain/hoe good of a test taker you are, it’s nots an accurate depiction of how much knowledge one has. This is just a silly way for me to get through life, I don’t take it too seriously, I don’t wanna get into like philosophy debates or something

3. I plan on majoring in Music Education! I’ve talked briefly about how I play Bb Clarinet and Bass Clarinet and how band is like super important so that’s kinda where it came from. If I had a choice, I would be solely music performance, but job security says music ed is better. I solemnly swear I will not screw over the people I teach just because I would rather perform music than teach it though

Hmmm… what about a band/orchestra type au? (Im currently traveling down memory lane and I miss being in marching band…)

I can see Gai doing color guard (flags) because it’s different and fun. And even though he’s a guy and gets made fun of for it, he’s really good at it and becomes the Color Guard Captain. (Since he’s a taijutsu master, I feel like he knows how to move his body, but the finer points of playing an instrument and walking might be lost on him.)

Asuma plays the saxophone. It’s not a trumpet, but can be 100% as annoying and obnoxious. Is told multiple times to stop improvising and play what’s written.

Yamato normally plays the oboe, but when marching, he’s on the drum line. Probably playing bells.

Itachi plays the clarinet. He was the first one in his class to not squeak.

Ebisu might be a trumpet player. They’re obnoxious (I can say that because my brother was one 😉).

Anko probably plays the Tuba. For the shock value.

Shizune I can see on snare drum.

I’m not sure what to put Kakashi and Kurenai. Instruments I’m missing: Flute, Trombone (best instrument, don’t @me), bass drum, cymbals, baritone, drum major, conductor.

Oh i love this. As an ex-band geek i fully support going down memory lane! Even if you do insult me by giving my instrument to Itachi 🥲🥲🥲

Gai getting to be the showy one who moves around a lot and has a blast with the music seems perfect for him. He’d really enjoy the chance to move around and play with the flag and screw all of the haters they mean nothing to him

Yamato switches it up depending on who’s leading. There’s three conductors. The teacher/band leader (Danzo), the Principle sometimes swoops in to do it (Tsunade) and sometimes Kakashi takes over the job because he does like learning and Tsunade wants him to take over so it’s a student lead thing. If it’s Danzo he plays the Oboe. Simple, eligant and Danzo’s an arse who demands certain people play certain instruments. If it’s Tsunade he plays the triangle. Doesn’t stand out, supports the rest of the band without doing a whole lot, but is very much there. If Kakashi’s leading Yamato gets the bass drum because that’s what he loves and is really good at (did i make a name connection, yes leave me alone XD)

Kurenai i think would make a great person for cymbals. The cymbal’s can be something that really calls out to listeners and catches their attention and really wakes them up and surprises them. She loves it

Kakashi is a flute player and conductor in training (he’s actually already very good at it Danzo just refuses to step down). He has been playing flute since he was little and picked up his mother’s old flute and decided to try it out. Seeing how determined his son was, Sakumo decides to get him lessons. By the time he joins the band he’s top tier and Danzo wishes he could convince Kakashi to go pro but it’s simply not something Kakashi is interested in and Danzo HATES it

I didn't see it in your post so I'm curious (could be me not being observant)

what do instruments you play?

(I hope you're able to start doing band/choir/marching band again someday they're some of my favorite hobbies. I'm always happy to see another band/choir person around.)

Hiya Squoose!!!! I main clarinet & have been playing that from the start, but have been teaching myself trumpet. Or at least was. My trumpet is currently in another town though so that's kind of difficult. And I would have been playing soprano saxophone this year had I not had to leave college for reasons. I'll be going back though, and rejoining the band! So no worries there.

Aside from that though, I also play guitar and occasionally recorder.

There's a handful more instruments I have on hand & am self-teaching when I have the time and energy to, but I don't consider myself good enough at them to list them as things I can actually "play" at this time though. Other instruments I have around or otherwise have tried to learn though are a cornet, a couple harmonicas, a chinese bamboo flute, keyboard/piano, xylophone, viola, and probably more I'm forgetting! I collect instruments as a bit of a hobby & love to adopt old instruments people have laying around. I've spent a bit of time learning how to properly clean and repair band instruments over the years and have saved a couple friends money by fixing some minor problems! I'm no professional but I can at least put screws back into place on most things.

NOW EXPLANATION TIME

Its a wind quartet because I felt a wind quartet fits elves best, especially Isengrim. I chose adagio for a more sombre tone, and because I wanted to utilise quarter and eighth notes without my program making it muddy (though it still does on the triplets its a computer piece it has issues with articulation). The use of quarter and eighth notes in the b-flat clarinet and flute is because he's a scoia'tael commander and fighter. But there's a section were the flute cuts out where the oboe takes its place as melody in the beginning (Measures 7 to 11) its a moment of reflection and steely determination before measure 11 where you start on a triplet on the flute and it becomes a fight. In measure 15 the main voice (flute) drops in to a mezzo forte from a forte and the b-flat clarinet goes into forte because its a collaboration, he's a commander. so HIS voice (the flute) becomes a secondary voice. Then in measure 21 the clarinet drops back into mezzo forte to be support of Isengrim's voice. It starts to slow then the 28th measure (the first ending of the repeat from bars 11 to 28) picks up in staccato sixteenth notes because this time it isn't the scoia'tael's fight for freedom. It's the realisation that the war is coming to an end and they're being screwed over and its a desperate attempt to flee to safety regroup and live to fight another day. and when we get into the end of the repeat we go to measure 29 and the clarinet has dropped off into half notes becoming part of the supporting sound and Isengrims voice (the flute) are final sombre quarter notes as he looks on to this new phase of his life running to Zerrikania.

It’s never really mentioned in the books but the the Cullens are a very musical family. While only Edward is the only one ever seen playing they have an eternity on their hands so they’ve all developed musical talents. One year Esme suggested that they join the school band (in Jasper’s case orchestra) . . . never ever ever again.

ALICE plays the flute and drums, (bass drum probably weighs more than her, she once hid inside it during a game of vampire hide n’ seek) she, Emmet and, Jacob started a garage band with the pack. Bella will join in occasionally on clarinet. They love playing kids songs like Baby Shark to annoy the crap out of Eddie Boi. Both Jasper and Rosalie have threatened to divorce at some point (bluffing ofc)

BELLA plays or rather played the clarinet she did it for one year in fifth grade, and has the trauma to prove it, Edward only found out after finding her old instrument when they were clearing out her room in Phoenix and  seeing a tape of a recital, Bella was of course embarrassed but picked the instrument up again on a dare after Emmet learnt of this, she is now actually very good. But her hidden talent is that she is amazing at singing. On her first “birthday” as an immortal Alice dragged her to a karaoke place and she absolutely killed it.

CARLISLE plays the cello, (I don’t know why but I’ve always just thought he would) back when it was just him, Edward and Esme, the boys would play duets for Esme, and Carlisle even worked with Edward to compose a piece just for her. (Separate from Esme’s song) He never brings it up but  . . .  that man can SING. Esme is always asking him to and despite his shyness he loves indulging his wife so whenever they go to Isle Esme he will sing for her, nobody but Edward (and now Aro cuz he read Edward’s thoughts in BD; AKWARD) knows.

EDDIE BOI there’s not really much to say but given how much music (especially LINKIN PARK) our boy listens to there’s no way he doesn’t know them all on piano.

EMMET plays the drums. He has experimented with saxophone and tuba though and is OBSESSED with the BA DUM TSSSS sound. This boy once spent a whole ENTIRE morning doing just that until Edward threatened to rip off his fingers and hide them around the country.

ESME also plays the piano as well as the harp she often does duets with Jasper and or Edward.

JACOB plays the trumpet and Xylophone and the kazoo (yes you read that right) his fave song is pink panther theme. Surprisingly talented and will take requests. Loves playing super dirty/cheesy/inappropriate for children songs on kazoo. He is a nice guy and never does this around Renesmèe. He does however love a good dare, and one day he asked if he could come shopping with Esme since he is after all the only one who eats human food (Ren prefers blood). Esme was happy to bond with her grandson in law. He snuck his kazoo into the store and much to poor Esme’s horror started belting out Flo Rida’s low in the produce section.

JASPER is an absolute fricking MASTER of the violin, he learned to play before he became a vampire . . . but he’s extremely shy and almost never plays except when Alice begs him, he can’t resist her puppy eyes. He can sing and is actually quite good but doesn’t like too, in fact he absolutely loathes it. He likes k-pop and knows all of BTS’s on the violin which comes in handy for screwing with Eddie Boi when he’s being a miserable drama queen. I also feel like maybe he could channel his abilities into his music and use it to project emotions like Vanya from Umbrella Academy or some cool stuff like that. He is also excellent at the piano because his mother kept one around when he was a child. After he was turned he found that Maria had one as well and he picked up playing again. He knows that piano is Edward’s special thing so he never plays except when no one can hear him. He and Rosalie are also pretty close so they’ve composed a few pieces together.

ROSALIE plays can also the piano and is a trained singer. She can play the flute and has experimented with Viola. Because of the whole twin charade Rosalie and Jasper have actually become friends and he taught her to play the violin, and Esme has taught her a bit of harp. She doesn’t really do anything crazy, if she wants to be petty she can just destroy your car.

Actually all the Cullens can sing but Carlisle, Bella, Jasper and Rosalie are definitely the best.

I feel like they would both be good people to talk to with lots of life experience and it'd be cool to actually be in the presence of a good somewhat father figure for an hour that I could actually look up to :')
