I just want to meet someone who looks at me and says “you know what, you’re right” about all the things I believe most deeply at my core and who wants to live them with me and next to me in a complementary way.

#this isn’t about religion because that isn’t about me being ‘right’#but you know what it IS about politics #and I am tired of living in the barren wasteland of being absolutely alone on the subject #and I have just run up against the limits of my own personality and how far I can push #and I just want someone else #there #who understands and who can do the other piece of it somehow #I don’t care what life is happening around me if there is a core I can go back to #if I knew that there was someone who loved me and who understood #really understood #and wanted the same things #gosh it would just change so much. it would change everything #anyway my heart hurts #a random thought for today #what is the point of a man who cannot protect me from my own anxiety and the poison of political screeds #haha just kidding I know total protection isn’t possible #but I wouldn’t need total. just a little shelter.#sometimes I believe it could be possible and sometimes I don’t and that is just the human condition #sometimes I feel like it has to happen because otherwise I will never have courage to undertake all the things I need to/want to #and sometimes I feel like I will have to find the courage without it #probably a little of both #there is no point in talking about this or in talking in such random half-circles #except it makes me feel better so.#thanks for listening etc.

calling my lover "mine" but not in the way that my toothbrush or notebook are mine, mine in the way my neighborhood is mine, and also everybody else's, "mine" like mine to tend to, mine to care for, mine to love. "mine" not like possession but devotion.

blah blah blah aging tumblr population etc etc if you are ever visiting a family that just had a baby, and you know that they have other small children, bring a little something for each of the other kids. it doesn’t have to be anything fancy but, even the most charitable, well-behaved child starts feeling left out and lonely after the nth visitor brings gifts and attention for their parents and new sibling and, either isn’t there for them at all or the only engage with them about their baby sibling, especially since their parents have probably been completely consumed with the new baby. make their day and they will remember that bit of kindness and attention from you forever.

#like i still remember when my brother was born my sister and i were bored shitless in the hospital and really lonely #because all of the attention was on our parents and nate #or if people did even say hi to us it was just to ask if we were excited about the baby #but when my aunt visited before even saying hi to my parents she came right up to emma and i and gave us each a beanie baby #she’s the eldest of four so like. she Understood.#and that meant so much to us skjfkdjdjkfdkdkdk #yes this happened in 2000 yes i still remember it what about it!!!!!!!

Funniest bit of the dnd movie is Xenk clearly being an NPC the DM introduced for lore and plot purposes who’s a competent fighter because of course he is, his reputation and backstory require it. But whoopsies the DM made him too powerful, the whole party likes him, and now they want him to come with to fight the BBEG which will completely and utterly fuck up the encounter balance

So instead of there being any actual plot reason he can’t join Xenk just says “I can’t. This is something only you can do.” And then walks off, never to interact with the party again because the DM just knows those little shits will find a way to use their OP creation against them

#but this movie was fun! clearly understood and had fun with its source material without being pure fan service #like don’t get me wrong there was fan service and jokes but I feel like even not knowing dnd you could enjoy it #I also really liked how you could tell what each spell was as it was cast even if they weren’t named! my wizard main self was so excited lol #xenk yendar #dungeons and dragons #honor among thieves #dungeons and dragons honor among thieves #dungeons and dragons movie #dnd #idk what we’re tagging this with gang so I went with all of it

Basically, my philosophy around disability fakers is: I would rather a thousand people fake a disability than have one disabled person suffer without care, aids, compassion, or any help.

#disability #disability advocacy #and there's a difference not many people seem to recognize between faking and realizing you don't have [x] problem...#...such as realizing you don't have [x] disorder because it is instead [y] disorder...#...or you haven't completely understood your care needs/your symptoms/what helps you...#...and some people see ANY change in your understanding of your disability as proof of maliciously faking...#...when i suppose in my personal experience people don't *maliciously* fake disability...#...i'm not saying it could never happen but that i don't think it's the *only* thing motivating people called fakers #i just think (like most everything) this is complex and nuanced because it's a *human* experience #like for me personally i /know/ i still have a lot to learn about my disabilities...#...like... i realized recently that my hands shouldn't be in AGONY when warm water is ran over them when it's SLIGHTLY cold inside or out...#...and i realized that i likely have a Noticable limb difference that needs checking out. does this sound like i'm faking...#...or that maybe i just didn't really explore my own needs and body because of a variety of factors?#i can assure you it is because i haven't really thought before about how i deserved to understand how to best help myself

Thank you for the compliments! But uh... I'm not exactly the best person to go to when it comes to learning art things. My explanation is usually "its all muscle memory" or "I just draw what feels right" or "I picture it in my head and just figure it out." or even "You draw a circle.. and then you draw the rest of it." Which is not very helpful <XD...

Buuuuut,, since I've been itching to draw something.. I figured I'd take this opportunity to draw the funny fox guy and try to explain how I draw snoots <XD

By the time Elrond leaves for Gil-Galad's camp, he's also been handling most of the healing at Amon Ereb for years. Few of the Feanorians can heal any more, bloodstained as they are, and even as a youth, it's clear that Elrond is remarkably talented at it.

Many of the Feanorians use sleeping draughts. Some of them, especially the former thralls, are plagued by nightmares. Maglor and Maedhros are so burnt out by the oath at this point that they can barely sleep at all.

Elrond is the one who mixes the medicine, quietly in the little room they've started calling the apothecary. No one watches. He gathers most of his own herbs too, from the gardens inside the fortress or the decaying land around it– no one goes with him, because the elves will be noticed by Morgoth's forces and attacked, but somehow, Elrond always slips by unnoticed.

Elrond leaves to get supplies. Elrond comes back. Elrond makes the sleeping draught, every afternoon. Maglor and Maedhros– and plenty of others– drink it without question every evening. They wake up the next morning, and there Elrond is, smiling and asking how they slept.

To most of the Feanorians, who've already started whispering about Elrond's kindness, this doesn't seem strange.

But Maedhros wonders. Maedhros knows that it would be near impossible to tell if the herbal draught had been tampered with. Maedhros knows that many of the herbs around Amon Ereb are poisonous, even lethal. Maedhros knows that the forested lands around Amon Ereb, sick as they are, would gladly shelter Elrond and Elros all the way to Gil-Galad's camp.

Maedhros knows all these things. What he doesn't know is why. Why Elrond stays, why Elrond helps them. And part of him– the part worn down by everything that's already happened to him– is suspicious of that. But he still takes the sleeping draught every night. And Elrond is still there every morning. And Maedhros never quite works up the courage to ask.
