You're a loser, baby~

I love the level of detail in "Loser, baby" on a narrative level and how much it can tell us about HuskerDust. Husk didn't want to go after Angel; Charlie sent him. But at that moment, when the mask began to fracture, Husk extended his hand to the real Angel.

The smile? Husk has a plan. The kind of plan that involves pure nihilism and stopping self-judgment so Angel knows he's not alone. Husk doesn't need to do this, but he already knows the real Angel (when he's drunk) and likes him. So, Husk is offering the real Angel his company.

Angel is waiting for the typical “everything is going to be fine” talk. How many times has he heard it? Cuddles, hope, and light But Husk surprises him by treating him like an equal, someone who won't break. Obviously, it bothers Angel, and he gets defensive. Is this guy kidding?

The same guy who was annoyed by Angel's presence is now all over him, with the most pretentious smirk in the universe, calling him a LOSER (and baby). Angel is so confused by the turn of events.

So, obviously, Angel thinks Husk is playing with him. His face says it all! And Husk is still all over him, telling Angel the truth.

In this part, Husk shares his insecurities. Yes, there was a time, but the pain is still there. And from what he's gotten to know Angel, Husk feels like they could connect there. “You are not alone” goes both ways.

Husk manages to get Angel to open but does it with sarcasm. At this point, Angel doesn't think anyone is going to accept him as he is. So, he says something that many know: his contract with Valentino, who has a dangerous reputation. That's the opening Husk was looking for.

This part isn't Husk making light of Angel's situation. He's making it clear to Angel that he's not “unique”, that is, he's not alone. His suffering is not something that separates him from others. Husk is breaking into Angel's self-isolation due to his abusive relationship.

Obviously, Angel doesn't believe him. Years of abuse made it clear to him that no one is going to care for the real Angel. But he's indulgent with Husk, playing along, visibly skeptical, wanting to know where this is all going.

And Husk takes him by surprise again. He is gentle, guiding Angel, giving him space, always offering his hand. It's a fun dance for two. They are both losers. Husk isn't insulting him. He is telling him that it's okay to make mistakes. They both have done it.

So Angel decides to trust. Just a little. Because he knows how people react when they know who he is. Angel is barely singing, not fully entering the song.

And when Husk tells him that he's fine with Angel being like that, it's liberating. Angel sings, there is a crack in his voice, because he is having fun! He is not acting, he is being sporadic and exaggerated, almost a parody of his flirtatious mask.

Now it is Angel who seeks out Husk, recognizing him as the one who can understand him and is liberating! And Husk reaches him, reminding Angel that they're in all of this together. And Angel smiles. A big and real smile.

Husk shares his addictions to give Angel the opportunity to share his in a safe space. And now Angel sings with all his potential, being himself and having fun. And Husk reaffirms him. This is Angel, the real Angel that Husk met when Angel was drunk.

And that is the theme of the song. Embrace who you are and don't be ashamed. Take every self-destructive comment, dirty insult, and don't let them sink you. Say "So what?", it's you, you're fine, you're good.

Accept your mistakes, your failures, your flaws, and stop being your own enemy. It's hard to escape, but there is someone who understands you, and you aren't alone. Existence sucks; bite it with a smile!

And that's the point. Things aren't magically going to get better. The problems are not going to disappear. Life sucks, but you're not alone. The burden doesn't disappear, but it may be more bearable.

Angel is the one who comforts Husk, telling him that yes, existing is difficult, but he's not alone. He has him. And for Husk, that's something. The song is about them, after all.

And Husk tells him that maybe he and Angel can be losers and find happiness.

And now it's Angel who offers Husk his hand. Now it's Husk who puts his hand on Angel's. And Angel can't erase his surprise and smile.

Now Angel is the one accompanying Husk. Angel's voice becomes an instrument that follows Husk in harmony. The fun dance of two returns, but Angel includes his style. Husk no longer has to guide him.

They both reach for each other. Husk extends his hand almost at the same time as Angel, with his eyes closed, extends his.

And in the end? They both support each other, literally and symbolically. They are equals. Husk and Angel meeting in the middle. The real Angel being accepted by Husk.

A/N: this is purely self indulgent, but I hope y'all get a kick out of it nonetheless

Simm! Master

Makes fun of you for it, 100%

"Aw, is the poor little human incapable of not falling over every two seconds? How adorable"

Absolutely will not help you up if you fall unless you beg or if you're very obviously hurt

Playfully scolds you for any bruises or scrapes you get from falling or bumping into things, though don't be mistaken, that doesn't mean he'll help you put on a band aid if you need it

If he thinks for even a second that someone else caused you to get hurt by bumping into you or pushing you over, they're dead, end of discussion

Missy/Gomez! Master

Not as annoying about it as Simm's Master, but she will playfully taunt you for being so clumsy

"Hm, this is the second time today you've bumped into something, isn't it? Poor thing"

Her helping you up all depends on her mood. If she's in a good one she may laugh briefly before giving you a hand, but if she's feeling more grouchy she'll refuse, pretending that she doesn't even see you laying on the ground

Actually patches up any scrapes or injuries you may get, whether it was an accident or not

Oh and anyone who pushed you over intentionally will be given agonizing torture from her as a punishment

Dhawan! Master

He's, like, the least bothered by your clumsiness, and even actively complains about it to you

"This is ridiculous, we can't even go to a simple marketplace without you getting hurt. Honestly"

Secretly though, he's probably the most worried, but he covers it up with disinterest and snark

Won't help you up if you trip and fall over unless you beg, to which he'll respond with a loud sigh or an eye roll

Doesn't shy away from scolding you if he has to help clean/wrap up any injuries you may have acquired

I don't think I even need to say this, but if anyone is the reason you got hurt they'll be killed immediately, accident or not

Today's Etsy shop update: Pure self-indulgence! A customer asked if I could make a version of my Lovebirds High pattern with rabbits instead, and I had a lot of fun translating bunnies to a streamlined blackwork pattern.

I ended up with three finished patterns:

Lovebunny Frolic: Because when they go so fast their ears lie back along their backs, it's a beautiful sight.

Lovebunny Mix: Because they're like potato chips. You can't just have ONE type of bunny; sometimes you need them all!

Lovebunny Realness: Rabbits are kind of like cats - when they're completely content, the uninitiated think they're pissed off. Resting bitch posture or something. So I wanted bunnies that were in love and chilling out together.

my six of crows hcs

I need to read Crooked Kingdom but I can't for at least another week and it's killing me so take this very self indulgent list

Kaz Brekker

-He finds it really hard to apologize so he literally buys a gazillion super expensive gifts for whichever Crow, refuses to elaborate, and walks away. Matthias is mystified by this.

-Kaz hates emotional attachments with people because he could easily lose them like he lost Jordie, so he made them with his cane and gloves instead.

-For a while as a coping mechanism, Kaz legitimately treated 'Rietveld' Kaz and 'Brekker' Kaz as two different people. When he was triggered by something or other he told himself it was Rietveld messing with him.

-He researched Saints so that he could know and understand Inej's religion, even though he had no obligation to. He also pretends he hates hearing her talking about it but just hearing the passion in her voice makes Kaz happy.

Inej Ghafa

-Similarly to Kaz, she has emotional attachments to her knives because after her time at the Menagerie it became really hard for her to trust people.

-Inej learned how to walk silently at the Menagerie because she needed to sneak around in order to get stuff she needed to survive, whether it be food or something to stitch herself up with.

-She enjoys being on the sea because it gives her a sense of freedom similar to how acrobatics made her feel.

-Inej has never once pitied Kaz, just felt anger for what others (*cough cough* pekka rollins) had done to him. Every time she sees him panic she feels a mixture of sadness and pure rage.

Jesper Fahey

-Jesper has a diary because he feels emotions in a very big way and he needs some way to get them out. He hides it under his bed and let me tell you it is bright pink.

-When he is stressed (often) he plays with his guns. Like, safety on, but he flips them around in his hands and whatever because it reminds him of his mother and her memory makes him feel safe.

-When on heists, Jesper legit takes any opportunity to wear high heels. There is no need to. The Crows make fun of him for it. He does not care.

-Jesper is typically very fidgety but whenever he's near Wylan he's just automatically much calmer. Wylan is like Milo for his stress but better. It's even better when he's touching Wylan in some way, shape, or form.

Wylan Van Eck

-If Wylan hears a phrase or saying or something of the like that he thinks is nice or cool, he writes it in musical notes (similarly to how he labels chemicals and such) and tacks it up on a wall or something.

-When he was younger and his father would use horrible tactics to try and get him to be able to read, he just took it and assumed it was normal because he didn't have a frame of reference (not being able to read books or make friends very well). Some days he felt he deserved it.

-Wylan loves symbolic art because it's a way for him to take in a story without having to read it. He loves making up interpretations of symbolic paintings and connecting unrelated ones into a continuous story.

-He is really not assertive at all and finds it hard to read the room, so Wylan always asks Jesper before he does anything affectionate. He sometimes gets embarrassed about it, but Jesper always reassures him that it's very cute and sexy of him.

Nina Zenik

-Nina is bisexual (canon) and in terms of her preferences she finds women to be hotter, but she loves men beyond physical attraction more often. Whenever people try to tell her that she's straight because of that she either punches them or knocks them out for a few minutes depending on how she's feeling that day.

-Nina loves fucking with people by speaking a language to them that they don't speak and then gaslighting them into thinking that she was speaking the language they do speak.

-She is like the #1 hype squad for Inej, and it's literally the only thing that Kaz and her can agree on. They literally get into compliment battles but they're complimenting Inej.

-Nina finds it hilarious how actually innocent Matthias is, so sometimes when they speak, she makes progressively more lewd innuendos to see how long it takes for him to catch on.

Matthias Helvar

-Matthias is super gullible and will believe almost anything someone tells him unless it is far too outlandish to be true. The rest of the Crows (bar Inej and Wylan) use this to their advantage often.

-Back when he hunted Grisha, everyone else said he was most definitely the least likely to become a traitor but also the most likely to be the nicest to the Grisha. Guess where they were wrong.

-Matthias tries his best to be mischievous and absolutely fails every time. He just feels bad about it and so he immediately apologizes even though all of his "mischief" isn't even that bad.

-Whenever Nina needs anything, Matthias will immediately do it/get it for her. Whether it's getting a book off of a shelf that she can't quite reach or committing homicide, he is always ready and willing.

he's not toxic in any way, but he just feels a lot of resentment about the whole situation

why be in a relationship for so long if it was just bound to fail?

he would feel like he has wasted precious time. but, most importantly, he would feel like it would be his fault

where did he go wrong? could he have somehow managed to salvage this relationship? be more attentive, perhaps?

there are so many questions that swirl around in his head. they distract him from his work for a while, which makes him more exasperated because now he's wasting more time and energy thinking about something he can't even change!

he can't help be feel emotionally frustrated

has cried multiple times in the studio when he's by himself, mainly because you used to accompany him late at night when everyone had gone. now he's by himself...

and if he finds out his ex has started dating someone else, he thinks he's officially hit rock bottom

seonghwa

the wistful one

seonghwa has the tendency to reflect and reminisce on the good times

and in this case, he ends up hurting his own feelings a lot more

because focusing on the past makes you less appreciative of the present and what he has now

but it's hard to focus on the present when the past was... so good

his brain is constantly filled with all the good times he had with you. every date you went on, every present you got him; when you smiled every time he complimented you; the way you laughed at his dorky jokes; the way you indulged all his hobbies and interest, watching his favourite movies and even building legos with him.

and now you're not in his life at all. so how, just how could he possibly focus on the present when everything that happened once before was like pure magic

he's in an impossible situation, and all he feels like doing is crying whilst thinking of you

there is a massive gap in his heart where you should be

the one who jokes around

so i feel like this will solely depend on what type of breakup you guys have had

if it's a seriously bad breakup involving arguments, crying and overall angst, he's not going to joke around about it. he will most likely be quite sensitive about it actually, and not want anyone to mention it

but if it's a mutual breakup, or you guys have just found that your difference has brought you apart and it's best to go your separate ways, something like that, then he will cope with the breakup much better

he's not one to be negative. he thinks, in this situation: if it's not meant to be, then it's not meant to be! no good being sad all the time when you could move on and try to think of the positives

will make jokes about the breakup or different aspects of the relationship - not to shun or disrespect you in any way, just to make light of it

if you're still in his friendship circle, he will definitely do this in front of you, in hopes you would join in and make fun of how you both used to be

it's one of his ways of coping and if you can join in with his jokes, then it's much, much easier for him

yeosang

the self-contained one

he keeps to himself about the matter

none of the members seems to know how he feels after the break-up - not even wooyoung, who continuously shows concern and wants him to confide in him!

but yeosang stays quiet. he just wants to forget about the whole ordeal and feels that talking about it will make it worse

which of course makes the others worry about him more so it kind of works at his disadvantage anyway

the members look out for him regardless of his choice, keeping a close eye on him to see if he's okay

but he doesn't act anything out of the ordinary. on the contrary, he is quite his normal self

however, he seeks to be alone. and when he is alone, he tends to get lost in his thoughts... which almost always makes him cry because all his thoughts go back to you

it's a vicious circle and he knows deep down he should talk to someone about his feelings

and he eventually does, most likely going to wooyoung or seonghwa, because he trusts their advice and knows he can vent to them safely, without any judgement

san

the one that doesn't give up

in the early parts of the breakup, san was, understandably, an emotional mess

his heart was hurting tremendously because of the thought of not being with you, and losing the special relationship you guys had. it ruins him. its something he wouldn't even dare to imagine - and now it's his reality

he really doesn't know what to do with himself

weeks would elapse with san slowly trying to heal himself of this heartbreak

but then, as he's staring at his reflection in the mirror - the bloodshot eyes filled with tears once again - his eyebrows arch downwards. this isn't what he wants. no. this wasn't going to happen. not if he had anything to say about it

he was going to try and win you back

if this meant putting on a grand gesture, gatsby style, in order to get your attention? he'll do it. if this meant making you jealous by pretending to be interested in someone else? he'll do it. he'll fight all that he can if he has to

if you knew anything about san, it is that he is very determined. very stubborn. he is not one to give up. not without a fight

well...

mingi is gonna be sad for a long time, let me tell you that.

and he doesn't admit it but it's plain as day

he can keep denying it to his friends, his family, the other members, etc... but it's so obvious that he is hurting inside and he's really fooling no one

and if it wasn't the glazed look in his eyes that gave him away, it was his hoarding of your stuff

the necklace you left in his room now permanently sits around his neck, the pretty metal falling close to his heart, where you still were

your hoodie he would wrap around himself as if it were you around him

and even sleep with it, the smell a comforting reminder of being once loved by you, even if that was not the case anymore

he knows it's not healthy to not let go, but how could he?

it was too soon for him, way too soon

so for now, he will indulge in these comforts for as long as he has to. he doesn't care how long it takes for him to get over you.

the one in denial

he refuses to admit that he misses you

hell, sometimes he refuses to admit he even loved or cared about you. which of course, is the biggest lie he's ever told

on the outside, it seemed that wooyoung had moved on quickly. perhaps too quickly, some would say...

because of this, the members would check up on him more often after the breakup, but he always shrugged them off.

"i'm fine" he'd say with a small grin "one partner out of the way, i guess. and i've got a long line of more still to come!"

he would say that he's excited about being single again so he can enjoy getting attention. all the attention he had before he started dating you

he likes having his freedom back

confirmed bachelor ✅

but deep down he is hurting. deep down he knows that no one will ever be able to take your place.

and he tries to fill that void and forget and deny but he can't sustain that. oh no; he wants you back.

jongho

the content one

he's quite similar to yunho in the sense that his response to the breakup will solely rely on the situation

but in most situations, he's quite a calm ex. doesn't do anything too crazy. of course, he's sad the relationship didn't work for the both of you, though. and there are aspects of the relationship he would miss a lot

but he would be grateful for the experience and what you have taught him about himself, along the way

no, but seriously, he takes his experience from your relationship as something to learn from before entering his next relationship, you know?

he will evaluate what he had done wrong or what he could've done better, stuff like that...

so overall, he recovers from the breakup quite positively. out of all the members, he's the most emotionally stable coming out of a relationship.

seeing your rant about how difficult it is to be somewhat rude without ruining your relationships in ifs WAS SO RELATABLE! It doesn’t feel real to be always good or nice to characters to be liked

I’m not saying you should be able beat them up and still romance without consequences but romance/relationships aren’t always perfect and peaceful!!! Disagreements/arguments should be something that can happen without it being at the cost of the relationship itself ugh because that’s normal come on >:| as an angst enjoyer, its so hard to have fun without the character being like “you dont agree with me? perish then”

You succinctly explained what I struggled to! 😭

I will confess it's half self-indulgent, because I really enjoy relationships where the two must confront their conflicting ideals! I understand most seek other like-minded people, but what of characters who like to be challenged? Characters who can't help but be attached to someone they shouldn't be?

Even setting that aside, you are completely correct! As long as that topic isn't sensitive to someone and neither party is inflexible, people won't automatically like you less.

So not only does such an approval system lose out on angst potential, sometimes it's also unrealistic. There is truth in it as our opinions of others do adjust based on their actions, and those things add up! However, it's a problem when it's applied to even arbitrary choices, or it unnecessarily severely impacts your approval.

Under the read more is my "theory" on why some ROs in IFs are defined by a dynamic trope (rivals to lovers, childhood friends to lovers, etc)!! 💕

It is difficult, if not impossible for a numerical approval system to qualitatively judge your relationship dynamics; it can only judge based on the weight of each choice. It can't, for example, see you've transitioned from being rude, to softening up to the character after realizing they're not so bad. The game only sees the sum of all your negative and positive points.

Without a way to label your actions by anything but a number, a system that purely relies on numerics is incapable of interpreting the dynamics of your relationship, and therefore customizing future interactions with the RO.

Of course, I think most IFs don't purely rely on numbers. Some do a hybrid in which important decisions are tracked qualitatively and lesser ones are tracked numerically. However, even then, some romance is limited by a baseline approval you must achieve in a certain timeframe, and that leads to pressure to meet that mystery number.

Furthermore, these qualitative "important decisions" often have more to do with the plot than how it defines your relationship specifically -- things like "did you kill their father?" rather than "What were their first impressions of the MC?"

So I believe that without a way to interpret the MC's actions meaningfully, there's only one way to play a romance route. There's only one dynamic with that character, one way the relationship can really be. You can be different genders, have your relationship contextualized differently as the story changes from your actions, but rarely does it dramatically differ solely on personality. Rarely does it examine how your relationship varies from the different ways you interact with that character.

I think it's fine that some characters are like that! In fact, it's realistic that some dynamics don't suit certain characters. For example, it's not possible to have rivals to lovers with Salvatore, because they have no reason to see you as a rival, even if you hate them or try to compete with them.

However, taking Sal as an example, your relationship can vary widely by your attitude towards them. It can be a case of friends who lost touch and regret having lost touch; it can be one-sided, as Sal may view MC as a friend, but the MC is bitterly jealous of them. Perhaps MC doesn't think much of them at all.

That's the kind of meaningful interpretation of relationships I aim for--different dynamics rather than boxing in Sal as the typical childhood friends to lovers. There is no one way to play their romance; it should change as the MC is different.

I see how it's not for everyone, and I acknowledge that it is a Herculean task that may, in time, reveal the full extent of its complexity. But I strive for it because such a complicated relationship is central to the conflict of Uroboros. There is nothing more important an undertaking than character relationships in the IF.

Extremely long theory and rambling, but I am so happy someone shares my thoughts, at least as far as disagreements with the ROs!! ❤️❤️ Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to share even more of my opinion, Anon! I'm thrilled you are so excited for the story!

Ohhhhhh... Very optional. And, naturally, something that could have multitudinous answers, so multiple could absolutely be given. But ALSO...

Given that they're talking again/have made up, enough that they could get away with it, what do you think the first non-"book criminal" thing Sydney would write on Kylar would be? Would Sydney change how they write book criminal on them, even, like they do for PC? Or would they not write on Kylar at all, maybe!

(BONUS: ADORE YOUR WRITING!! The thought you put into Sydneyposts and both your understanding of him and how he'd articulate things absolutely fucks to read :} your ocs seem really cool too... well wishes)

I HAVE!!! SO MANY THOUGHTS about Sydney (& Kylar) bodywriting <3 This got LONG but I'm genuinely rotating this so hard, thank you for prompting me.

— When they're closer, I imagine the normal "Book Criminal >:(" would become “Book Criminal :(“ with a sad face. Reason being...? Well, he's disappointed that Kylar's still destructing school property, even after all of his lecturing

— It's really fun to picture Sydney writing "Interesting" on Kylar, like he does to the PC when he's intrigued by them/getting closer to them. Interesting is... definitely one way to describe him, for sure. Kylar scrunches his face at it, trying to decipher what he means by it. Gets all grumpy and huffy, tries to glare at him but he just kinda looks like a wet cat LMFAO.

— Playing off of another canon Sydlar scene, I'm going to go ahead and take his "Kylar >:(" and make it "Kylar :)" [The original scene happens while Sydney & Kylar are fighting over PC and taking turns writing on them, but in this scenario I imagine it like most of his other PC bodywriting scenes.] - "Hey, can I write something on you?" - "Ah? Uh... y-yeah, I guess...?" - **Kylar :)** Kylar stares at it, confused. Why'd he... label him?

— Putting aside the fact that Sydney is super organized & clean, I loooveee the idea of him being a doodler. Hence why he draws little hearts and faces on people. Unlike Kylar, he refrains from drawing on school assignments & library books, but he still finds it enjoyable!! So, hear me out. Little stars, hearts, swirls, dotting the back of Kylar's hand and up his arm after he sits at the same table as him :)

Bonus points if Kylar rolls the sleeves of his school uniform/jacket down over them and forgets about them until that evening when he heads home. When he sees them again, the little red doodles are all smudged and he's kinda like, "Ah. Right." Maybe daydreams about it a little bit before he washes it off.

— Bit of a mushier, more self-indulgent one here but ummm...! Sydney writing nice little quips / little motivational phrases on Kylar's arms. Supportive little phrases to boost his confidence and keep him going throughout the day when things are rough. He rolls his eyes at the gesture, thinks it's dumb. But... at the same time, they’re validating. Having genuinely supportive reminders on his skin that contrast his scars? Ough...

(P.S. That means THE WORLD to me...!!!! My absolute favorite part of writing is characterization & I genuinely put so much thought into taking canonical bases and fleshing them out / expanding them while trying to keep it in the general realm of possibility!!! A lot of the time w/ the roleplay account, it's like taking a shot in the dark and running off of pure vibes so I looveeee that y'all enjoy what I do w/ it :))

Also. "The oath you awoke with is some faded instinct. What does it even stand for?" - Narrator (Baldur's Gate 3)

Decided to combine my two favorite things (Elden Ring and Baldur's Gate 3) and bring my current tarnished, Faith, to Faerûn.

Maybe I'll write some more silly stuff than just what is below.

It'll be pretty funny to have a tarnished so ready to unalive everything on sight to have party members telling them you gotta chill.

Faith: See, I told you everyone around us will want to kill us! She pulled a branch with poison on me!

Shadowheart: Okay... You got me there, but maybe telling everyone we have Mind Flayer tadpoles in our skulls is a bad idea.

Gale would have a blast learning about the Land Between.

Gale: You're telling me your people were banished from your world and this Golden Order you were fighting for?

Faith: Yup.

Gale: And then you were brought back to the Land Between, but the very order they exiled you, just to restore order by fighting countless of enemies without rest?

Faith: I mean... My plan was to burn it all down because I became maidenless again...

Lae'zel would enjoy the tales of all the battles the tarnished been through. Maybe not so much the dragons, but knowing you can learn dragon spells might appeal to her dragon girl heart.

Lae'zel: You would hunt these dragons and kill them?!

Faith: Yeah but then I can consume their hearts and use their power! Rot was very useful against Bloody Finger Invaders.

Oh man, for the tarnished to use their own spells instead of D&D would also be so much fun. Wyll talked about how he could do all these amazing things before he got nerfed and Faith would reminisce with him.

Faith: Ah, I remember when I was able to use the flame of frenzy... I wonder if I can get that back at some point and how effective it would be against your kind.

Wyll: What did that do?

Faith: Fire of madness would spur out of my eyes and kill the tarnish with ease. A heresy spell from the three fingers but... Those invaders were so annoying.

Wyll: That's terrifying...

Faith: You just told me about opening a gateway to the darkness between stars and anyone in it would suffer unknowable horrors...

Karlach and Astarion I'm not too sure what those interactions would be like.

Astarion would do this normal thing with Faith's I honestly don't see Faith to be okay with being fed upon but I don't think Astarion would be stupid enough to trust her to not kill him. He would hit on her and it would go over her head completely.

Faith would probably want to kill Karlach and someone else would need to step in and tell Faith and Wyll that they're idiots and Karlach is clearly a tiefling. Probably Shadowheart tbh.

Faith is from my coop game with friends. They're is a Confessor (thus the name lol) and basically I just wanted to do faith based spells with some sword and shield game play since my first tarnished was a pure intelligence mage. But I might lean more into the Confessor lore build for funsies since there are 4 of us playing at a given time. I guess Faith's pronouns are they/she depending on my mood.

It only seemed right to make them a paladin in BG3. Vengeance makes sense for a tarnished trying to bring back Golden Order and Oathbreaker if I decide to to the Lorrd of the Frenzied Flame ending.

They're also a dark urge cause blood thirst and amnesia.

I poured many hours into Elden Ring and barely knew the lore, but I think it'll be a fun crossover to think and maybe write about. And I'm getting too many ideas, gonna have to go full self-indulgent with this one... And take more photos lol

summary : Steve takes back the hoodie he'd lent you so he can go to the store. When he gets home, he realizes that you forgot something in his pocket and finds your mp3 player. Out of curiosity, Steve looks through your music and finds a playlist titled with his name.

a/n : I've been editing a lot of works in progress the past few months. I keep thinking that they aren't long enough to justify being posted, and have come to the realization they're just fine. Instead of stressing myself out with writing these, I need to enjoy writing them again.

“Sweetheart,” Steve called out from your shared room. “Do you need anything from the store? I’m gonna head out soon.”

“Would you mind grabbing me a new pair of earbuds? I don’t like the wireless ones Tony handed out, and my wired ones only work in a certain position,” you replied while walking out of the bathroom.

“No problem. Also, I’m taking this back,” the corners of his mouth turned up while he grabbed the hoodie he’d lent you weeks ago that you kept.

“What? No, don’t steal my hoodie!” You whined.

“Actually, it’s my hoodie,” he chuckled. “I lent you it, and it magically disappeared. I’m merely taking it back.”

You pouted while he pulled the hoodie over his head. As soon as his head reappeared, his eyes softened at the look on your face. He turned to his closet and rummaged around before pulling out a red hoodie.

“Here,” he held the hoodie out to you, “you can steal this one for a while. This one still smells like me.”

You beamed up at him as you took the clothing in your arms and buried your face in it. Inhaling deeply you smelt sandalwood and the ocean. Steve was right, it smelled better to you than the other one had. You were quick to pull it on, loving how soft it felt.

“See? Now we both have a hoodie that smells like the other,” Steve wrapped his arms around you and tucked you into his chest.

You kissed over where you felt his steady heart beat. You quietly groaned as the alarm on your phone went off. With one final squeeze, you made your way out of Steve’s warm embrace.

“I’ve got to go,” you mumbled. “Nat and Wanda wanted me to meet them in the garage so we could go to the mall.”

“Alright lovely. I hope you three have fun,” Steve kissed your forehead. “There’s supposed to be a new bookstore that opened up not too long ago. I meant to tell you when I found out, but I know you’ll want to look around.”

“Thanks, Steve,” you stood on your toes and kissed his cheek. “Be safe at the store.”

“I promise.”

Steve watched as you grabbed your purse and made your way out of the apartment. He changed out of the sweatpants he was wearing and tugged on a pair of jeans. Quickly typing what you asked for from the store onto his phone, he did one final walk through the apartment seeing if there was anything he’d forgotten to add onto the list. Satisfied that everything was written down, he slipped his shoes on and grabbed his wallet and keys.

Finally done picking up the things the two of you needed, Steve slipped his wallet into the pocket of his hoodie and made his way back to the Jeep. Putting the bags in the back and returning his cart Steve began the drive back to the compound. He turned up the radio, listening to whatever station you’d left if on last. Instinctively, he looked to the passenger seat only to find you weren’t there beside him. Steve was grateful you left the radio on your favorite station so he wasn’t entirely without you.

As he pulled up to the security gate, and showed his S.H.I.E.L.D. badge to go through he let his mind wander to you. He hoped you were able to enjoy yourself at the mall. He couldn’t wait to hear about what you got and did.

It doesn’t take long to have everything put away. Steve makes sure to place your earbuds on top of your laptop before putting his wallet on the nightstand. When his hand slips into the pocket, he’s met with the feeling of worn leather and cool metal. He puts his wallet down, then reaches back in to see what else was in his pocket. Wrapping his fingers gently around the slender metal object, he pulls out your mp3 player. Your earbuds are wrapped haphazardly around the light blue object, wire exposed in sections. He shook his head at the state of your earbuds, chuckling at how you’d described them earlier compared to what he was seeing. He carefully unwrapped the wire from your beloved device and threw them away.

He was surprised that you’d forgotten your music player in his hoodie, you usually make sure it was with you. Sure, you had music on your phone, but you preferred your music player. When missions required everyone to shut off their phone and go dark for a period of time, you would still have your music. Letting his curiosity get the best of him, he powered on the device to see what songs you’ve been listening to recently.

He smoothly navigates from all of your albums to the playlists you’ve made. He’s shocked that as he scrolls past your driving playlist, your training playlist, and your sleep playlist that he suddenly sees one named after himself. He taps the playlist and feels his chest warm at the playlist. It’s a mixture of songs he’d told you he liked before the war, songs he’d said he liked that you showed him, and songs that just reminded you of him. He walked into your shared living room and connected the mp3 player to the speakers in the room and pressed play.

As the music began to quietly drift its way through your shared home, Steve heard you opening the door.

“Babe! I’m home,” you called out in a huff.

Steve made his way to your voice, finding you in the kitchen. You had some bags on the counter and were putting something in the fridge. Steve stepped up behind you and wrapped his arms around you. You quickly leaned back into his chest while closing the fridge.

“How was the store?” You asked, fully relaxing into his hold.

“It was fine. Did you have a good time?” Steve swayed the two of you to the music he could still hear from the other room.

You nodded, turning to face him, “I did, but I’d rather be home with you.”

Steve hummed his agreement while leaning down to capture your lips with his own. “I missed you,too. C’mon I want to hear all about your shopping adventures.”

“I found the bookstore you mentioned. It’s a small one, but really nice. We mainly walked through the stores browsing. I did pick up a few clothes, and a new pair of trainers for the gym. For the most part we just chatted while we got lunch,” you shrugged. “What about you?”

“The store wasn’t as busy as I expected it to be. I picked up what we needed and found some stuff to make my mom’s casserole one night this week. I took our Jeep instead of my bike since we needed some more things than usual, then I came home and put everything away. And when I got home you know what I found?”

“What?” You murmur against his lips, resting your foreheads together.

“You forgot your music player in my hoodie,” he began. “And I couldn’t help but chuckle at how worn your earbuds were. So I got rid of them, after I put your new ones on your laptop. I was curious what you were listening to so I looked. And I happened to find a particular playlist named after me.”

You couldn’t fight the blush that dusted your cheeks, burying your face into his neck. Steve picked you up and set you on the counter. Gently prying your face away from him, he stood between your legs making your eyes meet his.

“Don’t be embarrassed Sweetheart,” he cupped your cheek. “It was sweet. The thought of you being reminded of me while listening to music, you humming along to these songs when I can’t be around. It’s the nicest thing anyone’s ever done for me. I know you made it for yourself, but just finding out that I’m on your mind as often as you’re on mine melts my heart. When I was driving back the radio was on that station you love, and I looked over expecting to see you there. You weren’t, but it felt like you were,” you leaned into his palm at the touching words. “How’d I get so lucky to have you in my life?”

You shook your head while letting a sheepish smile grace your lips, “Well if that’s the case I guess it’s a good thing I got you a surprise.”

“Sweetheart, you didn’t have–”

“I know, but I wanted to. I saw it and thought it’d be a good idea for you, too,” you gesture to one of the bags.

Steve plucks it up from the counter and hands it to you. You place one hand over his eyes, making him laugh, and use the other to pull out the small box. You pull your hand away, pleased to see he had them closed. You tugged his hand up and set the box into his hold.

“Okay, open!” You gleefully prompt him.

Steve’s eyes land on the box, and quickly recognizes a silver version of the mp3 player he’d found in his pocket earlier. “Baby, you didn’t have to. Seriously. Thank you, so much,” he tenderly kissed your lips.

“We can both enjoy our music, whenever we want to. Stay connected through it when the other isn’t able to be here,” you gently promised, holding his hand.

so i kinda made a few friends do a Spotify wrapped of THEIR fics as a way to celebrate themselves and what they've written/begin plotting this year. and i may have hidden for a while from doing it, but... here it is [yes, i made mine square for the aesthetic, sue me]

i think originally i had this as second, but the more i think on it, if it wasn't for this fic, i wouldn't have met so many of you. it wouldn't have gotten me through a tough depressive period and it wouldn't have healed the fear of writing romance. it is also the one fic i personally read to cheer me up, and coming up with new ideas for them is my FAVOURITE thing ever. i never expected a single soul to love them, but fuck, i'm so glad you all do.

I LIKE THE WAY YOU

i am a sucker for best friends to lovers, so naturally writing this has been a blast. it's special to me because my own husband was my best friend, and much of the themes are the same (minus the fwb part) and the best part of writing it, has been revisiting some of those feelings. i also really pushed myself with the spice. and that writing two people in love, who won't admit it, is actually so much harder than i thought.

BE GOOD, BE QUIET

a self-indulgent fic with joel miller? yes pls. no one will ever be able to understand how terrified i am writing JM. but this one flowed from me. everything from the storm to the way they look at one another made me grin. it was so much fun to write, and i'm so proud of myself for not letting fear stop me from writing it. also, this is hot as fuck - i cannot believe i wrote this.

this pair stole my heart when i first wrote them. they also gave me the confidence to birth late night texts. the softness in this, but also the cheek/wit, just had me grinning when i edited. I'll forever love this for what it did for me as a writer.

okay, okay. i cannot easily pick a fifth, so i chose two. but they're both so brilliant, and self-indulgent and born from this place of 'i want to write this, so fuck it' and yet, somehow, you all love it? and is that not a message for jo in 2024 to write more of the things she loves? also, cmon, one is pure fluff and one is pure spice ;).

Meeting/Being Apart of the Zoldyck Family

When the adults in the Zoldyck family first met you, well they didn't like you, it's not that you did anything wrong you're just an outsider and they can't help but be wary of you especially when your being introduced as Illumi's boyfriend

I mean if the Zoldyck family can be transphobic is it really a stretch to think their a liiittle homophobic too?

Silva is just straight up in denial

He refuses to call you Illumi's boyfriend, instead he'll call you "Illumi's friend"

You and Illumi will call him out on this but he'll keep on "messing up" (you know damn well he's doing it on purpose)

Kikyo is bit more excepting, but not of you, she doesn't think anyone is good enough for her precious son though

It doesnt help that she believes every gay stereotype she's ever heard, she will honestly pull up on you with something like, "I thought you people wore rainbow colored clothes?" and will be genuinely confused if you aren't wearing rainbow colored clothing

Zeno just thinks Illumi is going through a phase by dating you

In conclusion you being Illumi's boyfriend makes the adults in the Zoldyck family confused and uncomfortable and I take pure joy in this thought

The kids are a different story, none of them care too much about you being there as Illumi's boyfriend

I actually headcannon that Illumi can get along pretty well with all his siblings he just doesn't see them enough

At first Killua isn't too fond of you and even actively avoids you, it's his way of being cautious around you, even if Alluka likes you (which she most definitely does, who doesn't Alluka like?) he still tries to be careful

Like, you're willingly dating Illumi how stable could you be?

However once he realises that you're a pretty cool dude he'll actually start hanging out with you a lot, he'll damn there latch himself onto you

You'll go skateboarding together, pull pranks on people together, hang out with the rest of Killua's friends, and so on and so on, you'll even start to have your own inside jokes

You and Killua call each other step-bro in front of the adults (mostly Silva) to try an get a rouse out of them

Illumi will lightly reprimand the two of you but he will never do anything too serious cause he secretly thinks it's funny too he just can't show it in front of his parents

Basically you and Killua have a lot fun together and are known to also cause a little chaos

Illumi will never flat out tell you that he's jealous about the all the time you get to spend with Killua, but he is, you can tell because after you and Killua hang out Illumi will ask you everything he can about Kil

Was he having fun? Was he smiling? What were some of the things that he liked? Did he ask about him?

You've tried to ask Killua to go out Illumi more often but he will refuse, you did find a loophole though, Killua will hang out with Illumi as long as you're there

You try to do this as much as possible so Illumi can actually see Kil for once without him being mad or scared of him

Milluki hates playing video games with Illumi because he always miraculously wins, has never played a game in his life but will still get a W and then be like "oh, I won"

Milluki just sees this as a massive insult to his skills so he'll play against you next to boost his ego, he is still a pro gamer after all, this boy spends way too much time on his computer to not be one

When Milluki was younger and it was just him and Illumi, Mil was the type of younger brother to hide behind his older brother and talk shit from there because nobody would mess with him with his tall scary looking bro standing right there, right?

This changed somewhat since Illumi puts more of his time and focus into Killua now so Milluki switched all of that energy to you

Now Milluki will get behind you and shit talk from there, Mil sees you like a brother so that's cool

Has that "don't make me call my older brothers to come down here and whoop your ass!" type energy

I think Kalluto and Illumi already get along surprisingly well

Kalluto will follow you and Illumi around the same way he does with his mother

Kalluto will randomly gift you little paper cut outs or paper origamis he made while you're at the house, it's his way of showing he likes you

Illumi and Kalluto can both be so quiet and keep to themselves so much that being around the two of them can be one of the few times in the Zoldyck house where you can have some peace and quiet

Similar to Killua hanging out with Illumi, for Illumi to hang out with Alluka you'll have to be there

Cause Illumi is under this weird impression that Alluka isn't apart of the family or something (which we all know is bullshit) so you have to be there so he'll have a reason to stay

You definitely have to correct him several times on Alluka's pronouns, don't worry he'll get used to it he just needs some practice

Also Illumi truly enjoys playing with Alluka, they get along very well

Alluka is child like in a way Illumi probably never got to be so being around Alluka and kind of playing in her world helps Illumi be a little childish too, which he likes

Alluka would be trying to play dolls with the both of you, braid your guys (mostly Illumi's) hair, play dress up, etc.

The other Zoldyck siblings will go to you and Illumi first before their parents when they have a problem

For instance, if they're arguing and they need an adult to help them tell the other to stop bothering them or if one of them has a nightmare and they want to sleep with someone else they go to you and Illumi

Dancing with Shiva all night -a playlist-

I've been thinking in this scenario of Shiva at the night club, enjoying the music. He is truly enjoying himself, the music, the atmosphere, everything is pleasing and he can't help but lose himself there.

Then, some curious picture came to his eyes and it's nothing else but Y/N dancing. Shiva can't take his eyes off of her. "Pretty", he thinks as soon as the young woman rolls in her own, enjoying the waves of the music. It takes nothing for him to get there, just to observe her hips swaying that way.

Mesmerized, Shiva tries to follow her rhytmn and moves his huge body until they're next to each other. Y/N feels unbothered, in fact, she's having fun. "This mysterious man just makes hotter the club or is it just me?", something that she thinks when their paths cross while dancing. A slight touch of his skin is enough to feel like she's burning already. Small smile crosses her face just as Shiva makes eye contact with her, it looks like it's working. Now they are together and dancing as if they know each other since forever.

People around don't exist anymore, it's just both of them, sharing a whole energy that vanishes everything around them. She's pairing his movements, though he thinks he's going even faster than before. Just then, music becomes calmer, easier to follow and move. Shiva decides to make a better movement, it's now or never...

Taking her hand, the music piece marks their time and Shiva doesn't waste it, making her roll just to catch her with his hands. At this point people at the club are curious and interested in that couple. It's like they owned the night, a choreography that sets them on fire. Two flames connected by their hearts, both resonating simultaneously.

I made a playlist for this little stuff I couldn't take off my mind haha.

I'm tired of not finding ANYTHING haha about RoR as other popular series, so I made it myself for pure self indulgence. Enjoy! <3

So another ramble with Ra-On (aka WHB MC)

I always had problem with how the MC carry themselves throughout the game. I don't know if this was supposed to be a self insert or they already reserved an OC playing as protagonist, but the former seems preferred though. Ra-On (I think that's the MC name?) lack decency even from the start of the game, not only that but they- (and no I'm not gonna use 'she/her' on them, fight me) -seem to be giving off 'Gross, loser Gamer' type of vibe. They don't know how to take care of themselves and have minyheok (poor bb) do it for them instead. Not only that but they also come off as freeloader since they mostly stay in minyheok house. I'm betting my soul that Ra-On house/room probably look like the cockroach's base at this point. They don't seem to show nor mention of having any job/interest than fawning over a person or being horny 24/7, or either both 🤷.

Now don't get me wrong. There are times where i, too, let myself loosen up abit and thirst for someone/something, but to do it everyday? ALL THE TIME?? Mam where's your dignity and shame?? Were you gonna be a fleshlight forever??? What if you grown old??? You better be married to minyheok cause if not, I'm gonna go Gabriel 2.0.

Now that dignity is on the table, I also started to wonder if Ra-On are even a human? I'm not exaggerating when I say dignity, alongside morality, is what make us human in the firstplace. I'm not saying that Ra-On should be pure or holy since in this messed-up universe, that wouldn't work. But all I'm say is they should be in the middle.While helping the devils win the war is alright, that doesn't mean your 'actually' have to indulge within their sexual acts nor become one of them. Like it doesn't make sense??? Like, fine. Your a human in hell, but your 'NOT' a devil like them. Why should you change yourself just to blend and entertained them? Remember that your the descendant of solomon, meaning that you have an upper hand to them, not a random cheep-ass whore to be stuffed :(.

My theory about Ra-On not being a human is still standing. If your any normal person, you will 'hesitate' to accept a hand coming from satan, let alone helping the devils win the war, even if your best friend is in danger since in the bible, devils often see as mischievous and untrustworthy creature that will take your soul to the deepest of hell just to burn it . I'm not gonna say 'no' immediately since your being hunted down and don't have any choice, just maybe hesitation? For what? Idk your safety and soul?

But Ra-On? Fucker didn't think twice before jumping in dicks. 🤦

Am I slandering Ra-on? Absolutely. Do I care? No. Why am I doing this? Just because Ra-on is so fucking annoying and barely done anything that doesn't include decency

I get a whole lot of second hand embarrassment with this main character, honestly. And getting horny in the middle of a fucking war certainly isn't something that will have me endear to this character. Now, if this war wasn't treated as seriously as it does, and if this was just an everyday thing that these devils and angels do, then I can excuse the casualness the main character treats everything.

Honestly, I wouldn't have a problem with a character like the main character, if they weren't the main character at all. If they were just a side character getting dragged into bullshit situations and someone is there to keep them in line. That and it would be fun to dish out punishments towards that character. Too bad, we're stuck in their POV.

Kind of entertaining just having Ra-on being their own character, not a main character, just so the Reader can look at them and hiss "Ra-on what the fuck?" And knock their noggin around while they're both dragged into the mess that is this Hell and Heaven.

There is such a thing where, in response to stress and trauma, the body just gets unbearably horny, and it's usually not something wanted by the person experiencing it. A weird little disconnect of sorts. Unfortunately, the narrative is not going down that route. That is literally how the main character is, a horny mess 24/7.

So funny to me that the main character is both overly kind and also a piece of board in terms of emotional depths and personality.
