United Center, Chicago 8/27/23 Recap
excuse my rambling, this is mostly for my own sake five years from now when i can't remember any details 😅
they started handing out numbered wristbands at 9am and @arcticmonkeysaf and i got in line around 9:40 and were #873 and #874 😳 we found out later that the first person was actually like #550, so there were actually about 320 people ahead of us
amazingly we still ended up pretty close? i think we were around row 13ish! straight across from nick! 😍
fontaines dc were awesome and i had a lot of fun even tho no one else in our area seemed to know them 😅
sculptures as the opener was so incredible 😭 also alex pretended to play violin during it lol
brianstorm, teddy picker, the view, and dancefloor go so hard!! they're sooo fun!!
they played fireside 😭😭😭 freaked out when i saw alex pick up the acoustic haha
alex played the high piano interlude but didn't make up any words to it this time
during high alex held up 🤘 for a long time
he introduced arabella as "a song about a girl that i made up ages ago outta nowhere"
"four stars out of five, any which way you like, any which way you like, four stars out of five, even on a sunday night...so close!" (this was making jamie smile!)
POTION APPROACHING!!!!! our jaws literally dropped
fluorescent adolescent following potion??? insane
and then one point perspective!!! the solo 😩
mirrorball is so beautiful live!!! i was pleasantly surprised at how many people were singing along!! everyone was waving their phone flashlights and it was so pretty!!!
the mirrorball itself is indescribably beautiful!!! photos and videos don't do it justice AT ALL. the whole stage setup is sooo cool
BODY PAINT. GOD. so good. i think i smiled through the entire song 😂
alex pretended to shoot a basketball at the end of dancefloor
after r u mine they put down their instruments and acted like they were walking off stage, so i thought they weren't gonna do the last reprise, and then they came back and did it!! such teases.
the majority of the crowd in front of us was pretty dead :/ they didn’t sing or move much. i think we were having more fun than most of them combined lol. it was energetic in our row and behind us tho!
apparently fights were breaking out in the front on the other side and people were getting pulled from the crowd??
alex seemed a little tired, maybe bc it was their third show in a row. it didn’t detract from the show tho
only three songs from the car and zero from sias is a crime. happy with the setlist additions we did get tho!! overall it was so much fun!!!!

"Night Family" was a solid episode. The previews made me think it would be some creepy horror or existentialist episode (with everyone wearing matching pajamas, I thought it might end up being a simulation), and I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't the case. The "zombie" family that surprises Rick when he's sleeping was more funny than scary.
Anyway, I love how Rick caved at the beginning just because Summer sighed and looked annoyed. This and "Bethic Twinstinct" have made it clear that Rick can't say no to his girls.
Tumblr media
Also, damn--this has really been Rick's season so far. I suspected that because the trailer and a lot of the still images focused on him. I'm not complaining, but Morty hasn't had much to do. Even "Mort: A Rick Well Lived" was kind of iffy because it wasn't really "him." How many lines did Morty even have in this episode?
Rick and Morty had a couple of cute bonding moments, though. I totally thought the podcast scene would be from "Full Meta Jackrick." What IS that episode about?
Summer saying "I'm sorry, Rick, but your opinion means very little to me" was a brilliant callback to Rick's infamous season one line that dudebros have repeated a million times. It's basically the canon version of "I'm not arguing, I'm explaining why I'm right." (He never says that?? Stop putting it on T-shirts!) Five seasons later, Summer's throwing it right back at him.
This season has had a lot of good callbacks to previous episodes, especially Mortynight Run, which is actually one of my favorites. They're fresh and relevant to the plot instead of nostalgia-based, like "Haha, remember Mr. Meeseeks? Here he is!" Say what you will about Rick and Morty, but this show understands that memes have an expiration date.
Tumblr media
As far as the jokes go, I'll reiterate what I've said in another post and say that season six just...isn't funny to me. This episode had some funny jokes, like Rick angrily squirting ketchup all over everyone's plates, but it also had obvious jokes that have been done a million times.
Like--ha ha, the police car plunges into a "gasoline factory" that doesn't exist in real life and just makes the situation worse. Rick would rather fuck everything up than clear his plate before putting it in the sink--yeah, I saw that coming.
I did think that Jerry writing letters to himself was cute. I wasn't a Jerry fan before seasons five and six. He's still not my favorite character, but since he's starting to drop the whole "dopey dad" routine (tbh, I think it was an act because he stood up for himself when he really wanted to), his "cute" moments seem genuine because he's not pretending to be the innocent, downtrodden husband as much.
Tumblr media
I also loved the scene where Rick greets the device when he walks past the table in the morning. This show is great at capturing human moments like that, better than a lot of "realistic" dramas.
But yeah, overall--it's not going to go down as one of my all-time favorites, but "Night Family" is decent. It's interesting to see how the writers handle the no-portal gun challenge that they've set up for themselves. This episode has a lot of great Rick moments and focused on him more than I thought it would, plus some cool visuals and animation tricks, like Rick jumping from the police car roof in slow motion. Summer was hilariously badass. Don't fuck with Summer.

Hello!! I love your riara fic! I never thought I would like that ship, but I love the way you write them, so I’m hooked. Read for the jjpope tag, stayed for the amazing writing (although I still love your jjpope crumbs)!
I’m so sad there are only 22 chapters, and I hope you end up writing more, but if you don’t, have you ever thought of writing more for riara in the future? 😊
Hi!! First of all, thank you so much for this message omg :’) I’m so happy that you ventured out into the world of riara, it isn’t for everyone but I like to believe there’s something compelling there! I love hearing how people are pleasantly surprised by it haha
Before I knew about any ships or anything really about obx, I would see bits and pieces of jjpope and fully thought they were together. Or at least would eventually get together because ?? The scenes ?? The pining ?? What was all that for?? There’s smth to be said about public opinion and how that mobilized j*ara to get together and they were cowards to not do anything with jjpope. Granted, like you said, my fic only has crumbs of them 😭 and I would love to write them more into the story or even do a fic for just them
We’re really nearing the end of this fic and I’m blown away by that because I’ve been writing this for a while! I’m just proud that I’ve gotten to this point where I can say that things will be wrapping things up. It’s so exciting getting to these chapters because they were the ones I knew I wanted to write when I initially thought of this fic, it’s sooooo rewarding to get them out now and have you and others comment about enjoying it!! 🫶
But with one door closing another one will inevitably open, as for Riara fics— I’ve got one I’ve been working on! However, it’s a lot different than KRCG which I intentionally kept very light and fun. This new one will be quite controversial because it’s more of a dark fic, darker than my bad habit riara fic at some points and I know that’s everyone’s major issue with riara in the first place. I’ve alluded to it in the past but it takes place in s3 when the plane goes down. Rather than Kiara getting kidnapped by Singh, she’s “rescued” by Rafe and works things to her advantage to plan an escape back to the rest of the pogues. Essentially it’s them being forced to work together since they both have leverage they’re using to be useful to the other person— they get involved in the illegal trades, there are heists, jetting off to various countries for prospective clients, black market business dealings, general politics re: the criminal underbelly of the world, etc. Almost like a mafia au but without Rafe being a suave mafiasso lmao he’s just as out of his depth as Kiara is. I’m having a lot of fun with this one since it’s fully an enemies to lovers and I really enjoy deconstructing K&R’s preconceived notions of one another bit by bit and letting them humanize each other and grapple with what morality means to them. Mainly, it’s just drammmmaaa and them being badass 🥰
I am preparing myself for this to not be as well received with everyone since it’s quite out there and includes all the typical elements of riara that people don’t like, unapologetically and leaning into it even more. But the thought popped into my mind when s3 first came out and drew said that sometimes it feels like he’s on a totally different show than the rest of the cast bc of the scenes he gets, and that never left my mind— it took me a year to plan out the plot and I have so many pages of my notebook covered in moments, plot lines, dialogue, plot twists, drama, reveals that I want to write and now it’s finally happenjng ! So I’m very stoked for it but can understand & respect that people might want to sit this one out!

Hiiii! I just have a random thought while in the shower. How about the dorm leaders with an s/o that has the same name as Leona but with the opposite personality like instead of lazy and grumpy all the time they're very energetic and always smiling?
Thank you in advance if you did this!! And sorry about my english it's not my first language!
Hello! Sorry these are coming out so late, I'm still finishing up asks and my schedule's just getting busier each day ;-;. This is an interesting ask, I hope you enjoy the writing!
Dorm leaders x gn!reader who also goes by "Leona"
Riddle
The fact that you both share the same name crossed his mind the first time the two of you met, but he didn't think that you would be the same. Besides, he's seen more than one "Jack" in his life.
He was, however, surprised at how energetic and optimistic you were. You would run up to him and smile brightly, almost like Kalim. He liked it honestly, though he would never show it.
Once the two of you are dating, he gets to see your bright personality more. He's not used to getting so much comfort from someone nor so much warmth from another, so please give him lots of love! He's a bit touch starved too, so give him lots of hugs!
Overall, he won't treat you weirdly for having the same name as the (in)famous "Leona" and instead would see you for your personality that gives him comfort.
Leona
Haha, how did this happen? Expect lots of teasing from Ruggie!
He thinks it's weird to meet someone with the same name, and to add on someone that has the exact opposite of his personality. He finds it annoying at first, how bubbly you always are around him when he's trying to take a nap. But he starts to find himself waiting for you to appear whenever he's ready to snooze at an empty area of the school campus.
He's more tsundere than any of the other dorm leaders, so he won't tell you directly that he likes you. But, if you end up asking him first, he'll freeze up but you'll see his tail move faster. Either way he'll love hanging out with you and would want to spend more time with you (but he'll never say this outloud).
The entire school finds out that a Leona and a Leona is dating, and of course people think it's super cute. Expect him to be a grouch about it but you'll notice how his tail wraps around your leg when he mutters "how annoying" to himself.
Azul
He wondered if maybe the school had made a mistake when he saw two Leonas mentioned here and there. But when he found you, he's pleasantly surprised at how bubbly you are. He thought you might be easy to deceive, but for some reason he actually felt bad tricking you.
Floyd and Jade basically lead you to him when they find out Azul likes you. They snicker behind you, commenting how it's funny how "Azul's crushing on Leona" or something along those lines. They basically force Azul to be truthful about his feelings to you in his office.
He ended up liking you because he loves your personality. He thinks that your optimism and your kindness is admirable, and he is also touch-starved, so he really liked you when the two of you first met and you gave him a hug.
When you guys are dating, he'll basically latch himself on you, subtly trying to lace your fingers between his and trying to ask for kisses haha. Shower him with love, he needs it.
Kalim
Omg two Kalims! Except one of them is named "Leona" haha. Jamil thinks it's a funny coincidence but that's it
Kalim absolutely loves you, it doesn't even cross his mind that the two of you share the same name. He realizes this after he calls out your name and both Kingscholar and you look at him.
Kalim and you are the cutest couple the school has ever seen, even the teachers think it's adorable. You guys are like two suns put together, smiling and hugging each other when you guys see each other in the hallways. You guys have a light step when the two of you are walking hand-in-hand too, honestly it's like a Disney movie haha.
Kalim doesn't care if your name is similar to the intimidating Savanaclaw dorm leader, he only cares about your personality. Please don't annoy Jamil with him tho haha.
Vil
He immediately catches on the fact that the two of you share the same name, but he doesn't care that much. Besides, there's no way two Leonas would be the same, but he does worry if you would also be a "lazy" grump like Leona.
He finds out that you're the exact opposite and is enamored by it. You're kindness and your bright personality makes you stand out and it's something admirable to him too.
He ends up asking you out one day, and you brightly smiled at him, and it made his heart melt. He won't post pictures of you two together on his Magicam account, but expect lots of photos of the two of you together nonetheless! He might ask if you want to be his partner in a theater club project haha.
Overall though, he won't care if you are also a Leona as long as you continue to show your bright and wonderful beauty. He's not used to genuine kindness, so please shower him in it and it will make him feel like the star he is haha.
Idia
He got scared of you at first haha. "T-two Leonas?! I can't even survive in this school anymore huh, is my life on hard mode or what?"
But when he meets you, he finds you to be the cutest and most wholesome person in all of Twisted Wonderland. You're not at all like the scary lion from Savanaclaw, and even his younger brother Ortho thinks you're super nice! Of course, Idia has to ask you out!
Idia didn't directly ask you and instead Ortho low-key helped with it. He got Idia to basically spill his guts one day to you and you just hugged Idia, causing his hair to go red and for him to nearly faint haha. Either way, the two of you are super close now, often finding wholesome things to do together like just hanging out and watching anime together.
He has Ortho sure, but he hasn't seen such a bright and kind person in the school nor around him before. Shower him in lots of love, he'll be super shy about it but he'll melt under your hugs and kisses.
Malleus
He thought it was funny to see two Leonas in his class, so he ended up teasing Kingscholar about it a bit. He got even more fascinated however when he found out that you were the absolute opposite of the Leona he knew.
He doesn't find your name at all something that determines who you are, and he loves how kind you are. He's always been a lonely individual, so he really fell for you when you hung around him and even joined his gargoyle club. You might've noticed a slight blush on his cheeks the first time you two went on a walk together if you looked closely haha.
Lilia ended up getting Malleus to be truthful to you about his crush on you. He's super formal about it, but you break that by running up to him and just hugging him tightly. It's a gesture he's not used to, so at first he freezes up. Then, he relaxes, melting under your touch and hugging you back.
He loves you so much, you're just so precious! He might tease you a bit about how there's two Leonas, but it's nothing big. Also, if anyone tries to harm you, wish them luck since Malleus is always next to you.

10: What fic made you feel the happiest to work on?
I was happiest, I think, when writing my junhao fic! It gave me no end of trouble when I was trying to tie all the loose ends together, but when I was just writing the Vibes I had the time of my life!
15: Rec a fic you wrote or posted in 2023
I am going to recommend my jeongbin gym bros fic. I will be honest, the majority of this was written back in 2021 - but I wrote the last half and finished it up this year, so it still counts haha.
20: Share your favourite ending line
I'm going to cheat and give you three lines, but my favourite ending is the ending of my junhao fic - I had a lot of trouble trying to think of a good way to finish the story, but in the end, I think this fits quite well.
‘Soonyoung brought back a relic,’ Minghao says, carefully. ‘We won’t have to go back for a while. We could — ’ He stops, for a moment, tips his head all the way back. ‘We could do something. Or go somewhere.’ ‘How about,’ Junhui suggests, ‘somewhere very far from the sea.’ And Minghao looks at him, and slips his fingers into Junhui’s, and laughs.
22: Share an excerpt from your favourite scene
So this is another excerpt from my junhao fic because I had it open and it was the only thing I could think of haha. In this scene, I like the way Minghao's Oddness is expanded on, a bit, and the way they both know what they saw, but are pretending they didn't because it's safer that way. I don't know. Mostly it's the vibes.
And it’s — really nice, actually, standing here in the kitchen with Minghao, getting dinner ready and talking about nothing much, and Junhui is finally feeling like Minghao might be softening towards him, just the slightest. And then Minghao’s knife slips. And it goes deep into his finger. And he pulls it out, and Junhui scrabbles for some bandages, but when he finally finds some, Minghao’s finger is fine. It’s not bleeding. Or — there’s no blood, but there’s water, a lot of it, and Minghao’s shoulders go up to his ears when he takes the bandages from Junhui and tries to sort his finger out himself. Junhui feels faint. ‘You’re bleeding,’ he informs Minghao. Informs his mind, his traitorous mouth. He knows what saltwater smells like. ‘You’re bleeding, there’s so much blood.’ And he takes Minghao’s finger and keeps his eyes studiously on the floor as he dips it into the basin and bandages it up. ‘There was so much blood,’ Junhui insists, once he’s done. He doesn’t want to think about it. He won’t. Minghao looks at him, once, quickly, searchingly. He’s pale. Junhui does his best to drain the seawater from his eyes.   ‘Blood everywhere,’ Minghao mumbles. He turns away from Junhui. Lets Junhui nudge him out of the way and wash the herbs. ‘I saw it,’ Junhui tells the pans, and they finish cooking in silence.
24: What's something that surprised you while you were working on a fic? Did it change the story?
So this year, Versity and I wrote a fic together. I've never collabed on a story before, and I was pleasantly surprised by how well our writing styles meshed, and how fun (and funny) she was to write with, and how smoothly the whole process went! Our finished story was very much something I wouldn't have come up with by myself, so I suppose you could say it changed the story?
30: What's something that you want to write in 2024?
Allow me to tell you about an idea I had a few hours ago, after we talked about Descendants earlier haha. Jafar briefly turns into a genie at some point in the original movie, and I thought - what if Jay was a little bit genie, too? He wouldn't necessarily know, on the Isle, since the barrier blocks their magic and all. So in 2024 I'd like to write a fic exploring that, how Jay might discover his genie magic in Auradon, how it might work. Also - I don't know if you've read J M Barrie's Peter Pan, but good form/bad form is a huge thing to his Hook (his Hook went to Eton, if my memory serves me correctly), and I thought it'd be very interesting to see what that might mean for Harry Hook, especially given the general lawlessness of the Isle.

HEY HEY HEY(ノ≧∇≦)ノ ミ ┻━┻
ANOR ANON IS BACK AFTER THE LONGEST HIATUS AND THE MOST TOE CURLING, BACK ARCHING IDEA TO INCLUDE NBC IN TTV CAME TO ME IN ONE OF MY INTERNAL DIALOGUES
So basically, mc SOMEHOW, miraculously, manages to escape the cage AND THAT BTCH RUNS FOR THE HILLS and somehow ends up in nbc
This could go one or both routes:
Rollo is an innocent who took mc in because he pitied them and was also curious about the world they say they hail from without magic n less homicide n stuff
Orr
Rollo is a villain who took mc in because he believes that they could be of use to eradicate the nrc students or sum'
So essentially, the nrc students get invited to go to nbc as per canon plot line and are pleasantly surprised to see their recent escapee inhabiting the school they were just sent to scope out..
I'll let you take it from here(ʃƪ^3^)
-Anor anon<333
(sorry for the hiatus, I haven't touched my crusty musty dusty Tumblr in like what? A month now??🥲)
OMG HII ANOR ANON!!! It's been so long!! I've also been on a few hiatuses, so I get it completely haha!! Welcome back!! <33 The internal dialogue ideas really hit differently!!!
Maybe spoilers for the Glorious Masquerade event below?
I think this could go deeper into the worldbuilding aspect of the ttv universe! If NRC is the only school that is doing this sort of thing (how Crowley makes it so nobody is ever persecuted, who knows?), then the first route would be the best option! Rollo would definitely use this to his advantage in his whole anti-magic thing! With mc there, it could definitely lead to a route of Rollo and mc working to expose Nrc to the world and to save the few good students that are left there. In that route, I could definitely see Rollo taking on a protector/brotherly route (which could possibly help him resolve his guilt over you-know-what).
In this, they could meet the families of those who died and, maybe, work to somehow stop nrc's sphere of influence and avenge those who died during that school year and the previous years. Imagine the families and friends of the deceased students, paired up with those in their communities working to take down the school (which could indluce some major governmental figures and nobility, considering the dorm leaders and students who are doing the killing ARE nobility/rich/influential). Yes, I'm thinking Ruggie's whole neighborhood, Jack's family and friends (his pack, so to speak), the first years' families, mer coming from the sea, smaller fae who've been wronged by their future king... so many people!
Anyways, if it's the other route than that means that the rest of the world is just as messed up as Nrc which is... disappointing for Mc, since their battle would never end and they'd be forced into another dog-eat-dog world. In this route, they still have Rollo as a protector, though! Even though he's not as good as Jack, he's still willing to keep them safe (in exchange for insider info on the students of Nrc). But then again, this opens ore opportunities for the students of NRC to do whtever it takes to get their otherworldly "pet" back (Again, not a happy ending for TTV!Mc).
Once they found the mc, I think they would want them back (aside from Idia for obvious reasons,,,). This could end in an all out war between the schools (as Rollo would want MC for intel on the students of nrc). I can also see him as wanting to keep mc as a pawn to negotiate with the other students (which could either work, or end terribly as the students of nrc could decide to not care about mc).
I like the concept, and really wanna explore the world of ttv in the second part (which im planning on starting very soon, once I get a plot mapped out).
it was nice to hear from you again anor anon <3

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY (haha)
☆ note: for my precious peach blossom @cy-inky who recently came out as a Cyno simp. hop aboard maties to this new awesome ship <33
Tumblr media
"You're still up."
Your body flinched at the sound of Cyno's voice. He watched you spin on your heel and hide the polearm behind your back as though he hadn't just seen you awkwardly swinging it around.
"Yeah well, I couldn't sleep." You shrugged with a laugh.
Although your voice rang with its usual cheer, Cyno's keen eye did not miss the pale undertone of your skin, the dark circles under your eyes that were trying to sink away from the moonlight. It was evident you hadn't lain down even once these past several hours. He frowned, crossing his arms, but seeing you tense at his actions Cyno realised he was acting more like the feared General Mahamatra than someone who had vowed to protect you with his life.
With a sigh, he opted for a different approach as he walked up to you. Desert nights were not kinder than its days: temperatures dropped rapidly after sundown and could even reach freezing. There was chill in the air tonight as well but you had stayed outside your tent to practice. Even if Cyno thought there were more reasonable things one could be doing at this hour, your resilience had always impressed him. He was not going to take it lightly now.
"Let me teach you."
"What?"
"You were trying to use a polearm, right?"
A sheepish chuckle escaped your lips. "Hehe, busted . . . "
"Here." Closing the distance between you, Cyno reached out and skillfully guided your hands to hold the weapon correctly. Patiently, he let you get used to the unfamiliar style. "Like this. Both your grip and stance must be firm. Now find the centre of your gravity."
Your eyes went wide with awe as his instructions immediately improved how the weapon felt in your hands. "Don't think twice now. Focus." Cyno continued to fix your posture and stance but was pleasantly surprised by how fast you learnt. The determined glint in your deep brown eyes never faded.
"But why?" You were huddled together in a blanket by your campfire, finally resting, when Cyno asked you this.
"I want to get stronger," you answered, no hesitance, which perplexed him further.
"You are already apt as a mage. Lisa praised your talents."
"I know, I know." It was your turn to let out a heavy sigh. "But I want to do more than that. I want to protect you too, Cyno."
"Protect . . . me?"
"You said it yourself, that in your line of work someone is always unhappy with you, that someone's always after your head. I can't fight these people with just spells, you know."
Cyno hadn't expected to hear such words in his life, their arrangement did not make sense to him straight away. Why would anyone think he needed to be protected, yet it seemed to you as clear as a scorching desert day that this is what had to be done.
It was never in his plans to let anyone as close to him as you were now. But even then he could not judge you, not when the entirety of the galaxy above you both was reflected in your gaze, shining vividly with passion and ambition. The only crime you were guilty of in the end was stealing his heart.
"Heyy, don't laugh!" You slapped Cyno's shaking shoulder lightly. "I won't laugh at your jokes anymore if you make fun of me."
"Don't worry. I wasn't laughing at you," Cyno assured. He turned to you and placed a cool hand on your cheek. In the moment that you were mesmerised his lips left a soft, lingering kiss on your forehead. He did love to see your eyes crinkling in response, that brilliant smile of yours once again on your face as it should have been.
If he was now under your protection, he was going to make sure your heart would always be at ease.
"I'll show you how to fight," he said. "But next time we should only come here to stargaze."

heyy it's cafe enchante anon here again (incase you don't remember me😭: https://www.tumblr.com/dulcesiabits/695412570616643584/yahoo-cafe-enchante-anon-here-i-just-woke-up-and ) i see you post abt virche sometimes and i was wondering if you can talk abt it indepth?? (i dont mind slight spoilers)
ive been meaning to get a new otome game but i think it would be nice to know your thoughts on it before buying it,,, all ik it's pain but not the specifics
Oh my gosh!!!!!! Hi cafe enchante anon ^_^ it’s been a while! It’s nice to hear from you again <3
I don’t mind going more in-depth with my thoughts on Virche!! I’ll give my general opinion and also try to break it down by category and individual characters while trying to keep it as spoiler free as possible, with some vague allusions to events in each character’s route. Under the cut for length ^_^
As a caveat, Yves is locked until you finish Mathis, Lucas and Scien (can be done in any order), and La Salut (Ankou/Adolphe) is locked until you finish Yves.
Recommended route order (in terms of plot progression): Mathis -> Lucas -> Scien -> Yves -> La Salut (Ankou/Adolphe)
My personal favorite characters (ranked from favorite to least): Mathis, Lucas, Yves, Ankou, Scien, Adolphe
Overall: I actually really enjoyed my play through of Virche and I would recommend it to people if they enjoy angst/having to play bad endings first. It’s the first otome game in a while that I had so much fun with that I ended up playing it for 12 hours straight!!! I would rank it up there with games like code:realize, cxm and cafe enchante (in fact, the main scenario writer for CE is the same one for Virche… and you can really tell lmao). I had some minor complaints in regard to writing and character choices, but overall, I would rank it 8/10!
Music: The music was very gorgeous! The OP in general was so good I would listen to it every time I opened up the game, letting the opening video play in full, haha. I found myself going to the soundtrack list so I could replay some of the songs.
UI: I feel like otomate has gotten a lot better with UI. I love the “skip to unread section” feature, the flow chart, and the scene list! It made it easier to keep track of what I had to finish (bc I am a completionist), and the flow chart even tells you if a section has an unread piece of dialogue. The design of virche in general was pretty and neat, and never felt overwhelming or distracting. I wish there were afterstories, or bonus content, but that’s just a personal preference. I wanted something to soothe the angst, haha.
Voice acting: Listen. I’m one of those people who love to skip voice acting before they finish speaking because I read faster than the characters talk. However, the VAs (ignoring the fact some of my favorite actors were on there) really knocked it out of the park. I would replay some of the emotionally charged scenes just to hear the actors scream their lines!! The acting really helped to bring the characters to life!
Art: I’ll be real. I don’t think I would have liked virche quite as much if Yomi wasn’t the artist for it. Her art is gorgeous, hands down. I honestly open the game again just to stare at the CGs for Lucas and Mathis!! I was also pleasantly surprised to see that the characters blinked and their mouths moved in time to the voice acting. My only complaint is that outside of a few CGs, a lot of the ones for individual routes felt… very similar, at least in terms of the fact they always seemed to be static waist-up poses for the LIs, haha.
Plot: The mystery and suspense were extremely gripping, and I was impressed by how most things fit together. I also noticed all of the routes tended to have the fluffier and sweeter moments in the beginning of the chapter before it transitioned to angst and horror and started throwing issues at the characters as fast as it could. My only issues here were the way some of the science logic didn’t quite make sense and made me go “I don’t think it works like that…” though I was willing to suspend my disbelief because the writing was strong enough. Additionally, the good endings sometimes felt more like after thoughts, the way bad endings in most otome tend to feel, and some of them just didn’t provide enough cope for me.
Ceres: Ceres felt like her own character, with her own motivations and personality! I don’t like self-inserting into otome protagonists, so I always appreciate it when they can stand on their own. I think her motivations and development made a lot of sense considering her circumstances!
Mathis: My absolute favorite character because I adore the shy bookworm trope and he was so cute and sweet. I admit the romance felt a bit rushed, but his dynamic with Ceres was adorable. I also felt like aspects of his plot could have been changed to make it run a bit more smoothly for me. I feel like the writers didn’t like Mathis, or knew what to do with him sometimes, and his particular skill set could definitely have been more relevant/they could have made him a bit more involved in the other routes. Additionally, there was a character in his route I simply despised and I hated how the writers tried to redeem them. Some thematic elements of his route could have been elaborated on/carried through some more.
Lucas: Lucas is my other favorite, though I feel like he’s a bit more of a controversial choice in that regards due to certain… reasons. His route definitely felt the most horrific and tragic, but similar to Mathis, I felt like the romance was rushed, or at least needed more development. I didn’t get why Lucas liked Ceres, though I could see why she liked him. His route definitely could have benefitted from more time or even an extra chapter, and some scenes should have been extended instead of being left in summary. Certain thematic elements didn’t quite carry through either.
Scien: Scien is THAT bitch and he’s the most popular character for a reason. His writing was definitely the most solid out of the initial routes, with the plot and romance progressing smoothly without feeling too rushed or like it was dragging. I loved his development and his endings really tied up the thematic elements introduced in his route in a satisfying way. He’s really fun, even if he’s not my favorite!
Yves: Yves is super sweet! He has a bit of a longer route than the others, but I loved his character a lot. He’s definitely the one I think suits Ceres the most, and I loved his development and his motivations. The endings were satisfying, and the way he subverts typical tropes had me SCREAMING. It was so delightful and cunty of him, and I think when the plot kicked up, it kicked UP and I was on the edge of my seat the whole time!
La Salut (Ankou/Adolphe): The beginning of the route felt liked it dragged a bit especially because it was rehashing the common route, and I admit, I wasn’t quite sold on Adolphe as a romantic interest and character until much later in the route. I did love Ankou a lot, and I cried several times when I was playing this route. It’s the final route so it ties together all of the plot points in previous routes and introduces answers to overarching mysteries in a really satisfying way, I believe. There are several tropes here that I particularly adore (and can’t mention for spoiler reasons), and I think it was a fitting end to virche!

Drunk on a Good Recommendation - Murr Wine Event SSR
🍷 Murr's SSR "Want Some Out-of-this-world Wine?" card story/training episode/home screen line, english translation :] thanks to maki for the raws, and sheep and blue for extra input! ❤
--
Chapter 1
Akira: All the decorations for the grape harvest festival are super cute…
In my down time, I was strolling through the Western wine town, which was bustling with excitement from the festival. From somewhere nearby, a familiar voice caught my attention.
Murr: Just as I thought. This wine is more tangy than the last one!
Faust: I can definitely taste the astringency, but I think it ended up being more bitter than sour.
Akira: (These voices are…)
Akira: Murr, Faust. Hello.
Murr: Ooh, Sage! Heyo!
Akira: This is a rare combination. Are you two shopping together?
Murr: Yep yep!
Faust: No, not exactly… I was doing a small tasting to pick out a wine for myself, and Murr pounced on me.
Akira: Ahaha, I see.
Akira: Are you going to buy anything from this shop?
Faust: No, I'm still making up my mind…
Murr: Hey, hey! That shop across the street is also super yummy! You come too, Sage.
Akira: Um, are you sure it wouldn't be a bother?
Murr: No way! Come on, pick up the pace, Faust!
Faust: I'm coming, okay? Don't push the Sage around like that.
(scene change to another shop)
Murr: Mmm! It has a mellow aroma, and the texture is refreshing, but it still has a surprising zestiness. What a tricky flavor to pin down…
Murr: Why, it's the taste of an evasive infinity that reminds me of the night sky surrounding my beloved moon!
Akira: (Infinity?! I wonder what that tastes like…)
Murr's description of the wine had sparked my curiosity, and Faust seemed to feel the same way, slowly swirling his glass before taking a sip.
(gulp sfx)
Faust: Certainly, the aroma has a complex depth to it, yet the flavor is bright and refreshing. Overall, even though it's light, it leaves a pleasant feeling in your throat. This is delicious.
Murr: Right? Good, good!
Murr: Ooh, I know. Faust will definitely like this one, too. Bottoms up!
Faust: Mm.
Akira: (Faust seems to be having a good time. Maybe they're surprisingly compatible?)
Murr: Sage's drink looks yummy too! I'm gonna try some of that!
Akira: Huh? But, this is just…
Murr: Excuse me! I'd like to taste that one!
The shop attendant handed Murr a tasting glass, and he clapped his hands excitedly.
(gulp sfx)
Murr: Nn~? The taste is sweet and full-bodied, like something you've never had before, but with a pleasant familiarity, like something you drink all the time!
Akira: Murr, it's juice.
Murr: Whaaaaat!? Really? Ahaha, I didn't even notice!
Murr laughed in delight, his cheeks flushed a rosy warm color.
Akira: (Maybe he's gotten more drunk than usual…?)
Murr: I'm feeling good, so let's hurry and get to the next shop!
Chapter 2
Murr: This shop's wine has a deeply rich, fruity sweetness! But the aftertaste leaves your mouth a little bitter.
Even though he was definitely tipsy, Murr's descriptions were vivid and clear. Faust nodded along, pleasantly drinking the wine he was handed.
Time passed easily with this atmosphere. Suddenly, Murr turned to us with a serious expression.
Murr: Juicer…? I hardly know her. *
Akira: ……Huh?
Murr: The unfriendly root vegetable got "beet" up. *
Akira: …Murr?
Faust: …..Pfft.
Akira: (Oh, he's doing wordplay! I didn't think Murr was the type to make cheesy puns like that…)
Faust: Haha. I have no idea how you come up with them so quickly like that.
Murr started tossing out more puns, and Faust laughed away. Maybe it was just because they were both starting to get drunk, but they looked like they were having plenty of fun.
Murr: Hey, hey! What's up with that look,Sage?
Akira: Huh?!
Akira: (Whoops, he must have caught me smiling away…)
Akira: Ah, nothing… I was just wondering if we could make more puns related to the harvest festival…
Akira: Since you two are doing such a "grape" job. *
Faust & Murr: ……
Akira: …Ah, was that terrible…?
Murr: Ahaha, fantastic! Where did that come from? Sage, you're a jokes prodigy!
Faust: Quite the comedian, huh.
Akira: Oh, ahaha! I was afraid I had messed it up.
Murr: Got any more? I'd love to hear 'em!
Faust: Yeah, me too. But can you give me a second? I'm going to buy a bottle from this shop.
Murr: Bingo! I knew you'd be a fan of this one!
Faust: Thanks to this tasting tour, I was able to come across some delicious wines. Thank you.
Akira: (It looks like they sampled a lot, so I'm glad he found something he liked.)
Drunk Passerby: He~ey! That was pretty funny!
Akira: H-huh? Me?
When I turned around, a red-cheeked customer was calling out to me and staggering our way.
Drunk Passerby: Yeah! Whatever you were sayin' before, can ya say more like that?
Akira: Uh, umm…
Akira: (Another pun, just like before…Hm. I'm totally blanking…!)
Murr: Meow mya-mya-meow!
Drunk Passerby: Huh, what's the deal!?
Murr: Purrr… I've gotten drunk enough to become a cat! Meow, meow~
Drunk Passerby: …Wahaha, that's awesome! Your cat impression is spot on! Man, thanks for the laugh!
(thwap)
The person heartily patted Murr's back and stumbled away.
Akira: (Wah, I'm still reeling… he was in and out like a storm.)
Akira: Murr, thank you for helping out!
Murr: Ahaha! It wasn't me, it was cat-me!
Faust: Sage, Murr. Sorry to keep you waiting.
Faust: I made my purchases, and now I was just going to wander around for a bit longer, but… What are your plans?
Murr: Eh?! You're done already? My plan was to get more drinkies with Faust!
Akira: I think you're already drunk enough, Murr, so maybe it is a good time to call it a day…
Faust: …That's right, Murr. How long are you going to keep up that spell?
Chapter 3
Faust: He's been using magic to raise his body temperature all day, in order to pretend like he's drunk.
Akira: Huh?!
Murr: Ding ding ding! You found me out!
(magic twinkle)
Murr waved his hand, and before my eyes, his reddened cheeks faded back to normal.
Akira: But what was the point of faking it?
Murr: I wanted to see how you two would react if I got totally drunk!
Faust: Is that so. Well, did we meet your expectations?
Murr: The results show that both of you… are perfectly compatible with me!
Akira: Murr, when you actually get drunk, do you behave like that?
Murr: I wonder! Do ya wanna find out?
Akira: I am kind of curious… maybe a little.
Murr: Then there's only one way to know! Come on, let's head to the next shop together!
Faust: I don't mind if you leave me behind, so you two have fun.
Murr: Huh~! Why, why? Does Faust hate drinking with me that bad?
Murr's cheeks flushed red once more. Faust raised his eyebrows and opened his mouth, completely deadpan.
Faust: It's a nightmare.
Murr: You're so heartless! Was all that quality time we shared together just a game to you, Faust?
Faust's shoulders started to shake with laughter - Murr's exclamations could easily be taken out of context, or lead to a misunderstanding.
Faust: I'm kidding. Your drink recommendations are very good. Thanks to you, I've come across some excellent wines.
Faust: It's just that, when it's with you, it's hard to keep myself from drinking too much.
Faust seemed to be telling the truth. Though I can't help but wonder if it's the alcohol letting him be this honest, his reasoning is fair.
Akira: I understand. When Murr was sitting next to me and describing the taste of each wine, I found myself wanting to try it too, even though I don't drink alcohol.
Murr: Ya~y! High praise! Well, I'll have to work twice as hard to find even more scrumptious wines for you!
Faust: Oi. Were you even listening?
Murr: Yep, roger that!
Murr: I'm saying that, if I'm drinking special wine that can only be tasted today, I'll let Faust and the Sage hear my special words that can only be spun today!
Murr: How's that? Sound good?
Murr explained his plan, and just the idea of it was getting my heart racing.
Murr: Let's toast to this fun afternoon, a precious moment that we'll never have again!
Faust & Akira: ……
Faust: You really are exceptional at recommending drinks.
Akira: Ahaha, he is, isn't he?
Murr: Yippee! The next leg of our wine-tasting tour awaits!
-
* these were originally puns in jpn, but since wordplay is really hard to translate, i settled for puns with similar structure/effect in english. they really are making jokes that bad…
additional note: i had to fight for my life to make the wine descriptions sound as flowery as they are in jpn and i took tone over exact phrasing. Take it up with murr, y'all,
----
Training Story: Let Me Hear Those Words Again
(location: manor courtyard)
Akira: Good evening, Murr. What are you up to out here?
Murr: It's officially happy hour! Time for a drink!
Akira: Oh, that bottle…
Murr: Good eye! It's one of the bottles I bought at the festival the other day, when I was doing tastings with Faust.
Akira: I didn't even notice you bought anything. There were so many different wines, how did you decide on the ones to buy?
Murr: Easily. I bought the ones that Faust gave the yummiest descriptions of!
Akira: Oh, I see. Faust was definitely talkative that day - almost as much as you, Murr.
Akira: By the way, even though you chose it based on Faust's description, what do you think of it?
Murr: Something about this wine just makes folks want to talk about it, huh? It's intriguing!
Akira: …That is interesting.
Murr: So! Do you want me to tell you about it?
Akira: Yes, please!
Murr: Well, it's…
Akira: It's……
Murr: Let's ask Faust about it!
Akira: Huh? Faust? Can't I get your opinion?
Murr: It's fine! I'm sure that if we drink this wine together, we'll have the same thoughts about it!
Murr: Hey, Great Sage. Let's go find Faust and invite him!
----
Home Screen Voiceline:
"Master Sage, guess what kind of cocktail I'm craving right now! It's okay if you don't guess right. The idea of drinking the cocktails that you think I might want to drink… Isn't it funny how your thoughts would become a part of me?"

as one of ur tts followers — and as someone whose extent of knowledge of rwby is reading the first volume and going nah not for me — it's been like surprisingly fun to read through your rwby essays!! i wasn't very hooked by the first vol of the manga so i was wondering if that's a common experience and if it's worth continuing?? or if the show was a better medium for the story?
can’t speak for the manga as i haven’t read any of it but imo the show itself starts off—like v1 is , definitely somewhat rocky writing-wise (and the animation does take some getting used to lmao), but its greatest strength is in sketching out, very effectively and very quickly, a lot of compelling characters and compelling interpersonal dynamics that for me made it really easy to get past that initial speed bump of ‘oooh, this feels like the fictional equivalent of a used car that clanks worryingly when you shift gears’ kshsgjg
i went in with “v1-2 are pretty slice of life with a very slow burn overarching plot happening in the background and emerging in v3” which i think was probably the best possible expectation to have—i ended up being pleasantly surprised by how much intriguing set up and tension was happening in the first two volumes!—and i’d say uh, 1.8 was the episode that like, fully hooked me (and v1 has very short!! episodes so we’re talking about 45ish minutes of “aw this is nice, i’m enjoying this” before hitting the critical mass of “yeah okay i am IN”)
and my experience thus far has been that i liked each successive volume A LOT more than the last, like the quality on just about every level—animation, character writing, pacing, worldbuilding, plot construction, general polish—improves leaps and bounds between each volume. (there’s also some really /: jokes in the early volumes, most particularly a handful of ‘haha man in dress funny’ beats, the last of which is in early v4; and ofc the white fang racism metaphor plot line is mediocre at best. rwby is def a show that had to. grow into being thoughtful in how it handles stuff)
but yeah i’d definitely recommend giving v1 a try to see if it grabs you more than the manga! v1 is just under two hours total runtime so it’s a pretty quick watch :3 it starts off quite rough but packed with compelling characters and a certain, idk, charm? and then continually becomes more and more polished without ever losing that charm or the grasp of character that made the early volumes so compelling to me

(hi eph!! ty for the ask, and i hope your day is going well ^^)
answers under the cut bc they're long haha
-
art ask game
2. what’s your favorite thing about your style
digitally, i like that my art style requires me to put in a decent amount of effort while the final result is still something i enjoy looking at! i didn't have a set digital art style up until a few years ago bc it either took too much time for me to draw and/or i didn't like how the pieces turned out in the end, so i'm glad i finally found a style that works for me!
traditionally, i really like the way i shade. i use hatching (for non-artists, it's when you draw repeated parallel lines across an area you want to shade) bc i wanted to emulate furudate's (mangaka behind the haikyuu series) style. it's oddly calming to shade this way and i like how it looks at the end!
4. favorite thing to draw
i really like drawing medium to long length hair! it's something i've been drawing ever since i started teaching myself to draw, so it's comfortable for me. i especially like drawing hair blowing in the wind bc i get to add stray strands and waves hehe
16. favorite media to work with when drawing traditionally
i always default to pencil and paper just bc it's easily accessible and the media i've been using all my life. for any artists, my go-to pencil is a uni a-gel mechanical pencil, and my preferred lead softness is 2B :D i don't color the drawings in my sketchbook often, but in the case that i do, i like colored pencils! i usually use the colored pencils you'd see in the school supplies section of a store, but if i'm going all out, i'll break out my prismacolor set too
23. what’s something you hope people notice when looking at your art?
in general, i'd love it if people noticed the smaller details about my pieces! as an example, in my recent aranyaka quest drawing, i used a lot of glow effects and added a white border to make the piece look like a page out of a children's picture book. for those who don't know or don't want to see spoilers, the innocence of childhood is a major theme in this questline. i wanted to express that through the piece's layout and light colors, so i was pleasantly surprised when one of my followers pointed it out in the tags!
for certain pieces, like the one i mentioned above and many of my comics, i hope people notice the feelings i had in mind while drawing. i usually draw these types of pieces for closure right after having finished an event in-game, so i pretty much put my raw emotions into them. i'm still rather new to making comics in particular and am not sure if i'm expressing my feelings in the best way possible, so it's reassuring to see people reacting in the tags.

I'm taking you up on giving a bts solo album review. We disagree frequently but I think that's nice haha.
6) Jack in the Box - I really really hate putting this here because this was one of two albums that I was really pleasantly surprised and gripped by on the first listen. Part of that was probably because it was the first one out, but especially More was just way different from what I was expecting which made the whole thing exciting. I think some of the albums ended up being slightly underwhelming (in comparison to how surprised I was by the sound of JitB, not in that it wasn't a good listening experience) because they sounded how I expected them to sound. Still, this just isn't my music preference, and there are a few songs that I consistently skip. It's harkening back to a particular era of hip hop that is just not my thing, but from what I've heard from people who do enjoy that style, it was impressively done, which is unsurprising because the rap line especially are such devoted students of hip hop. Additionally, imo, I don't find the lyrics that are trying to discuss broader feelings or social issues particularly compelling - for example, equal sign is nice and all but I kind of find the chorus cringey? But it's not so different from other themes that bts has had, so maybe all of those songs sound cringe in korean and I just don't know. I guess in summary I'd say that I had a really exciting first listen to the album but don't listen to it that frequently anymore. (Fav song: Arson)
5) Golden - Sorry, I know you love it! This isn't because I dislike the songs, but there is a higher percentage of songs that I don't particularly care for and tend to skip. Jungkook sounds beautiful throughout, as always, and he can make anything sound good, but I just struggle to connect with the album. I think part of my experience with golden was just so tainted by me not being that excited about this direction and a lot of the songs just not feeling like jungkook. (In contrast, even though tae didn't write anything in layover, it still managed to feel like him, in the same way that Standing Next to You feels like jungkook but some of the other songs don't.) I think because of this issue connecting with it, the album as a whole doesn't come to mind as often as others do. Because there were more songs in a style that I like, I can listen to it happily, but there are still some songs that I find kind of boring and even jungkook's voice can't pull me through. The fact that it's jungkook singing them, and bc he was so earnest in the way he approached them and has such a beautiful voice, honestly saved a lot of the songs that would have been mid and forgettable without him. It's hard for me to rank it higher bc of that - then it would feel like I'd be ranking jungkook as a singer rather than ranking the album. A lot of the songs are going to end up on a diverse set of gp playlists though, so it will have a lot of longevity. (Fav song: Closer to You and 3D ft. Justin Timberlake)
4) Layover - The next three shuffle around a bit for me for different reasons. On the one hand, it seems weird to put layover here because I think it's pretty immaculate in how gorgeous and bite-sized it is. The concept and the mvs were all very well done, and tae's voice is my personal favorite voice in the group. (Jungkook's technically a better singer, but I find tae's voice very soothing, and thankfully he prefers to sing songs like that. I also really enjoy the warbly quality to his voice - it oddly reminds me of some opera singers I've heard.) I thought tae conveyed the emotions of the songs really well, and they're the type of songs that you don't need to know the language at all to feel them. It was also short enough and had enough variety that I don't get bored listening to it all the way through, even though the songs have a similar quality to them, which is something I was afraid of. On the other hand, even though I know I just said I don't get bored listening to it, I can see how people would, and it's so much like the songs he's released before. Like mono, it's an album I think of only at certain times, which is fine and probably not a reason to rank it low lol. I somehow manage to think it's not boring while still being one-note, so idk if that makes sense oops. (Fav song: love me again)
3) Face - (Me trying to adjust for my jimin bias lol) This and JitB were the albums that I had the most pleasantly surprised initial reaction to. I wasn't sure what to expect here, and I really wasn't expecting set me free pt. 2 or face-off. The concept of facing yourself is pretty on the nose, but I enjoyed the order and direction of the album, and I thought the choice he made with the interlude 'diving in' to the internal struggles he's been carrying (even though it was long) made the album concept come together for me. I didn't find the songs confusing like you did, maybe because I spent an inordinate amount of time dissecting them, and it was the kind of personal insight that I was hoping to get in chapter 2 from all of the members. That said, certain sounds in the album can get a bit grating after too many listens, and there are a lot of hard elements, sonically, that were included which generally pair well with jimin's voice, which has a bit of an edge to it bc of it's higher, thinner tone and bc it tends sharp, that need a bit of buffer. I guess that's me saying I wish it was a bit longer, maybe between alone and set me free pt. 2. But this is getting nitpicky so I'll stop lol. Lyrically, it's not as good as the next two, but still a good effort from the member that I think is the weakest lyricist (sorry jimin). Like crazy is a pop queen and it's my favorite title track from bts or an individual member in a while. I know it's not a classic top-40 pop hit, but that's just not my listening interest. (Fav song: face-off)
2) D-Day - I both agree and disagree with you about D-Day. I think D-Day's hard-hitting songs are inferior to previous agust D songs, but I think the softer songs are superior to his previous ones. I read a tweet once that opined that namjoon is the best at talking about love while yoongi is the best at talking about relationships, and I tend to agree. I felt a lot of catharsis in listening to the album and in getting into the lyrics, though I tend to split the album up in my mind between D-Day to Huh?! and then Amygdala with the rest. Haegeum and Huh?! are both good, but I thought D-Day was kind of a throw-away for the sake of having an exciting song. The emotional heart is clearly with the rest of the songs. Even though the lyrics in Amygdala are so specific to yoongi it's hard to relate to the verses, the chorus has such an emotional impact that I don't mind. As for the rest of the album, I think it's yoongi's best lyricism to date. I love the verses in people pt. 2 especially. Also, I really am growing to love when yoongi sings. I know it's not like he's the best singer in the world, but I like the choices that he made about when to do it and it's probably my favorite part of D-Day. (Fav song: Life Goes On)
1 ) Indigo - I LOVE this album. It probably should be one of the ones that I said that I was pleasantly surprised by because I didn't expect the upbeat, danceable songs, but namjoon making good songs isn't really that much of a surprise at this point. I also thought mono was a great album (talk about catharsis) but I don't find myself comparing mono and indigo that much because they're so different to me. (I think it's much easier to compare the agust D trilogy, especially bc they follow a similar pattern.) Maybe namjoon and I are just operating on the same wavelength recently, but I really connected with this album, and I think he does a great job at explaining really interior, personal emotions. Like the tweet I mentioned in my section on D-Day, while yoongi is better at explaining relationships, namjoon is better at explaining a particular emotion. Somehow, even though there aren't that many lyrics in forg_tful and it's a deceptively simple song, he managed to convey it so well. Even though the order should have felt like it was going all over the place, it just made sense to me as I listened to it. He also picked great collabs. The only slight miss, which I think he knew was a risk, was picking Wildflower, which has lyrics and a mv that are so specific to him, as the title track - since he did that, I think he should have released Still Life earlier. However, he knew he was picking a 4+ min song as his title track, so I don't want to say it was a misstep when he knowingly made it presumably so that the could put out this personal album exactly as he wanted it to be consumed. All in all, I thought the album was excellent. (Fav songs - no. 2 and all day)
If you read this all, thank you haha.
I read it all! Thanks for sharing!
I mostly agree about JITB. I like More and Arson a lot. I also get what you mean about Golden. A lot of songs are mid, and I didn't care for them at first and still don't love them. But because I love Jungkook's voice I listen to them a lot. Truthfully I still can't hear Jungkook in the album aside from SNTY and maybe Seven and 3D. But I guess it's hard to reconcile pre-Seven Jungkook with post-Seven Jungkook. However, imo every solo album has a lot of mid songs. In Jungkook's case, I love his voice enough to listen to them.
Layover and Face are very short so I listen to them sometimes when I don't feel like listening to my Golden playlist. I used to like Slow Dancing a lot, but now like it less. I think Layover's songs are kind of forgettable but the album is too short to be boring. I kind of disagree about the emotional aspect of it. V in general has a soulful voice, and Layover was what I expected from him. I don't think any of the songs packed the emotional impact of Sweet Night, his Hug cover, or Spring Day. I also listen to Face without listening to the songs, if that makes sense? When an album flows well and the songs have a similar vibe, it's easy to listen to it without noticing the different songs? I only really tune in for LC and SMF Pt. 2. More than half of the songs in Layover and Face are mid imo, but not in a bad way. Golden is certainly much more mid and cliché. And Face has two interludes which I can't appreciate. Maybe if I dived deeper into the lyrics...
Indigo is nice but the other day I listened to it and was a bit disappointed in the album. Personally, I think RM is incredibly smart but I don't enjoy his lyrics much. I usually don't like it when he writes or sings in English, and his poetic and abstract lyrics aren't to my taste. I fail to properly appreciate his music because of it. I think my favorite songs of his are collabs, Persona, and a few songs in Mono.
I kinda disagree about D-Day. The hard hitting songs did hit less hard than in previous albums, but imo the same can be said for the soft songs with the exception of Amygdala and Snooze, which are like a kick to the stomach. I found D-Day's lyrics a bit repetitive. I actually don't love it when Suga writes about relationships. He shines when he writes about himself imo.
Anyway, thanks for the ask! And for reading my thoughts 😊

Thoughts on "we have a ghost"
I loved this movie so much so now u gotta hear me rant about it haha suckers
1: the unstable family dynamic and the fact Kevin's dad actually owns up and apologizes to Kevin, and Kevin doesn't even give him a response. Just tears running down his face. Not even a sob ir a hiccup..just silence. Holy fuck it ripped me apart. And the fact that we have no proof he changed, hell they were moving AGAIN at the end of it (for good reason). I like it because in reality it takes a lot more than one revelation and one apology to make consistent change, it takes time! And maybe it's the start of it for Kevs dad, but I'm glad they didn't push a "everything is hunky dory now" type thing.
2: kevs mom and kev out of everyone in kevs family (besides Randy cmon we know they're family now ) have the biggest change, sure kevs dad acknowledges he fucked up but we actually see kev and kevs mom completely flip who they were from the beginning into someone else entirely. Kev was stuck in his shell, barely smiling, depressed and lost and the change he went through is obvious. His moms was more subtle but still very much there. She was a pushover, not sticking up for him when kevs dad got on him. Even Kevin's dad pushes her down for this at the dinner table when she's like "I'm not getting in the middle of this" she ends up sticking up for him later on in the movie, and at the very end telling Kevin "I'll take care of it" when his dad is (lightly)  teasing him and his gf.
3: Randy's character was so fun holy shit! He was so soft and protective  but also cheeky and hilarious. I love how fatherly he was throughout the movie, and the thing holding him back was seeing his daughter again. he was an amazing character and as someone with selective mutism I really related to him not being able to talk besides moans and groans (most of the time) SPEAKING OF WHICH HIS ONE AND ONLY WORD SPOKEN THROUGHOUT THE MOVIE BEING HIS DAUGHTERS NICKNAME?? I AM ON THE FLOOR SOBBING CRYING. The amount of emotion conveyed in just his facial expressions and body language is so impressive! A + to this actor!
4: realistic teen romance! When there was only one bed I was already cringing trying to prepare mentally for an implied underage sex scene to unfold but I was pleasantly surprised when they just cuddled fully clothed ! And Ernest acting as a wing man was hilarious omg
5: can we talk about joy? Because I LOVED HER CHARACTER SM, she was so cool and for someone who didn't have that many lines her character had a lot of depth. She felt realistic to me, from her clothing style to her awkward but excited personality, she looks and acts like people I know. But then again I am autistic and know mostly autistic people soooooo
6: DR LESLIE YOU MORALLY GRAY WEIRDO MARRY ME PLS 😭😭😭 seriously she is so gender and I both want to be her and want to date her.
7: THAT PLOTTWIST HOLY FUCK, I never expect the sweet old person to be evil but he literally scared me!! And his wife peering over junebugs shoulder at Randy... her expression going from sweet to malicious...ehighheghd literally sent chills down my spine.
And that's all I can think of right now but I adore this movie and I highly recommend it !!

Faye Webster & Maya Hawke – Union Transfer – Philadelphia, PA – August 20, 2022
Last Saturday night, Faye Webster’s Car Therapy Sessions Tour came to Union Transfer in Philly, accompanied by none other than Maya Hawke, singer and actress on the popular show Stranger Things.
Tumblr media
I wasn’t sure what type of crowd this show would draw, but I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived. The seemingly never-ending line wrapping around the venue was one of the most vastly diverse groups of people I’ve ever seen, which was incredibly refreshing. People of all ages were eager to see both Faye and Maya that night.
Tumblr media
Prior to Hawke taking the stage, the crowd was buzzing with excitement to see the two singer/songwriters. I chatted with a couple of girls in the venue, and they shared with me that people began lining up at 10 AM for the show that night, so then I knew how important this show was to Maya and Faye’s fans, which made the evening even more special to witness.
Tumblr media
When Hawke took the stage, audience members let out uncontrollable screams. After the initial shock wore off, everyone quieted down to assure that they’d hear every note of the melodious acoustic set. Maya performed hit songs “Sweet Tooth” and “Thérèse” as well as songs from her upcoming album titled Moss. Her stage presence was illuminating, to say the least.
Tumblr media
A little while later, it was Webster’s time to step on stage. As she came out, the crowd sang along with her to the lyrics of “Better Distractions,” followed by “Kind Of,” and then hit song “Right Side of My Neck.” The mellow lighting and vibe of the shows that Faye puts on are unbeatable and unmatchable. Everyone in the room came together to sing along to each and every song, appreciating every moment with their newfound friends in front of their favorite artist.
Tumblr media
She then played more songs from her newest EP “Car Therapy Sessions,” as well as her most recent album I Know I’m Funny Haha. Though the audience was sad to see the night come to an end, they were gifted with memories of an unforgettable night because of Faye’s and Maya’s performances.
If you have the chance to catch Maya and Faye on tour this year, I highly recommend that you do! Get your tickets here: https://www.fayewebster.com/

Ahh I love sending ask prompts!
For the writing ask game, as many as you’d like to answer: 1, 7, 9, 11, 12, 13, 17, 23, 40, 51, 73.
and i love answering prompts, so i'll go with all of them XD thank you friend ily <3333
do you know how you want the story to end when you start, or are you just stumbling through the figurative wilderness hoping to find a road?
kind of both tbh XD for long fics, i usually have an ending in mind, but the middle...is stumbling through the figurative wilderness haha. i'll generally have a rough outline, but it's still a lot of filling in. i was about halfway through Crimson and Steel before i finally had an outline for each individual chapter, but i've had the ending planned from day one
7. tell us about the plot of the first fanfic you ever wrote
i literally don't even remember, it was so long ago haha. i've been writing since i was in seventh grade filling in my little cringe notebooks, and daydreaming scenarios in my head long before that XD i think the first time i put pen to paper was star wars fanfic? it might have just been an "anakin lives" scenario i think lol
9. in an ideal world where you’re already super successful and published, would you want to see a tv or movie adaptation of your work? why or why not?
Yes! my mind is super visually-oriented, so i usually write chapters like they're episodes in a tv series anyway. if Crimson and Steel were to be adapted somehow, i think i'd like it to be animated (and the format of it works better as a tv show)
11. what’s something neat you’ve learned while doing research for something you were writing? also, how much do you worry about doing research in general?
i learned a lot about the New York irrigation system writing the Lizard chapters of Crimson and Steel XD like where the city gets most of its water and stuff. and it depends; i don't want to make a glaring error, but if i'm getting too frustrated then i remind myself that i never fact check fanfics i read anyway, so most people probably don't care. if it stops being fun, that's when to stop
12. do you ever have trouble focusing on writing? how do you get around that?
sometimes. in my view, unless you're a professional writer, you're not on a schedule and this should be fun, so don't force it. if i don't strain myself, i usually get around to thinking about my fic anyway haha
13. talk about a writing experience that has pleasantly surprised you.
i love hearing my readers' theories! it's always pleasantly surprising to hear what they think will happen, even if it's off, and i've even occasionally been inspired by them. i love when a reader will point something out that maybe even i missed
17. what is your favorite line you've ever written?
this one hasn't been published (but i do have a WIP with it), but i still wake up in a cold sweat thinking about it: "Never think you are worth any less than all I have to give you and everything I stand to lose."
23. how do you deal with writer's block?
don't sweat it. take care of your body and mind, primarily, and the ideas will start flowing again eventually. reading fic, even if it's not in the same fandom, can also spark an idea.
40. best piece of feedback you've ever gotten.
i get told my character interactions/dialogue are decent, so that's always nice. but someone told me my fic was a blessing, and i still think about that comment :')
51. share the synopsis of a story you're working on that you haven’t published yet
oohhh...i have so many WIPs lol but i'll share a little about the third part of the 'Here to Stay' trilogy since a lot of people have been asking me about it. it sees all the characters from across the universes reunited, but there's a cosmic threat (if you read the comics you might know who) that wants the power too. shenanigans ensue
73. how do you visualize scenes? do you see it like a movie in your head, or do the words just flow?
kind of both? i visualize the scene like a movie in my head AS the words flow. it's hard to describe, i'm not that good of a writer haha
thank you again friend!
Send me more!
