This is my new favorite gif of Kara
Not my gif*
All you remembered was seeing an unfamiliar planet, somewhere you didn't want to call home, ever.
Now somewhere in a grassy field, you sat unconscious, in the pod that saved you from death, while your home planet was destroyed a long time ago. You, while fleeing your home planet, followed another pod into the phantom zone, and stayed there long after it had gone. Left all alone, for so long, just like you had been before, left in the silence of space...
 ---
"Supergirl, we just need you to check it out." J'onn told Kara, as the Kryptonians sister, adding her opinion.
“We haven’t even classified it as a threat,” Alex said, warning her sister to not be aggressive, and Kara turned to leave but was stopped by J’onn.
“Oh, one more thing,” J’onn turned to address the Kryptonian. “We believe it to be Kryptonian.” The blonde froze for a moment and then turned towards the sky and flew away. Kara's mind was racing as her sister got on comms and gave her a location
“You be careful,” Alex said typing something into the computer and added in a whisper “-especially if they really are Kryptonian...”
---
You felt funny, a good funny, but it was- The feeling was so difficult to describe, almost like your whole body felt the happiness in your heart, but you weren’t particularly happy, your body was tingling in excitement though.
Feeling strong, feeling like you could do more than just sit around, you were getting used to the feeling of safety and strength rolling over you, when a shadow came out in front of your eye line and your eyelids peeled open, right as the top hatch of the pod, you were sitting in, came off and with it, a million different noises filled your head, making it feel like it was about to explode, as the feeling of safety went right out the pod. You screamed.
“I’m not here to harm you.” Said a strange voice in a familiar tongue. “Will you let me help you?” The same voice said again, it rang in your ears, and it fought very hard to stay at the forefront among all the strange, foreign noises trying to invade your thoughts. You looked up and saw a man with, jet black, almost dark blue hair, a red sheet swaying in the wind, attached at his shoulders, and a respected glyph laid upon his chest.
“Who are you?” You're not sure where you are or who is talking to you, the only thing that makes you feel a little bit better, is that he is speaking your language. “Where am I?” You asked the man in Kryptonese.
“You are on Earth.” He starts calmly, waiting a moment before proceeding, being careful to keep his distance. “What’s your name? I am Kal-el.” He smiles softly at you, speaking slowly.
“Earth…?” A weight fell in your heart, and a sudden sadness flowed through you, forgetting about the fear of your safety on this Planet. “Where is Krypton, Kal-el?” You asked, sadness in your voice without fully registering your thoughts.
Clark gulped, “I’m sorry, it’s all gone.” His words broke your already shattered heart, and for a moment all the thoughts and noise went away, silence was the only thing you could hear, before unconsciously speaking again.
“Where did it all go?” You asked the brave man, innocently. Kal-el couldn’t be the one to tell you, the pod crystal would explain it all to you in time.
“That is for you to figure out.” You nod your head at his words, there was somewhere in his voice that felt safe, felt trusting, it reminded you of home. You looked up and he held out his hand for you, pulling you out of the still smoking pod that carried you here, to Earth. The ground beneath you, felt so different under your shoes from how Krypton had, well from what you can remember of your former home.
“Clark?” Another voice said in the distance, not far from where you and Kal-el stood.
“It’s Kal-el here, Kara.” He held your hand lightly in the air.
“Ah,” Kara paused when she finally looked at you, knowing you couldn’t have been older than 15.“What’s your name..?” Kara asked you, resting her arms at either side of her suit.
The new girl had yellow hair, the same red sheet, and the same house glyph resting on the same blue as Kal-el, you now understood that she was trustworthy, if Kal-el knew her.
“My name is Y/n. Daughter of the House of Y/l/n.” You said, finally answering Kal-el’s long forgotten question.
”I am Kara, from the House of El, same as Kal-el, here.” She smiled tenderly at you.
“Brother and sister?” You asked, just as curious as you sounded, brow furrowed in confusion.
“Cousins!” Kal-el gives a laugh, as Kara walks closer to the both of you. Kara gives you another smile and turns to her cousin, speaking in a language you had forgotten was stored in your memory.
“Alex wants me to take her in, just to watch her for now. Make sure she’s safe.”
“Are you sure? The farm could always use another pair of hands.”
“Yeah,” Kara reassured him. “I don’t want something to happen, and I mean- I am stronger,” Kara smirks at her cousin in a serious moment.
“Yeah, yeah..” Clark shook his head in a playful annoyance. Kal-el turns back to you saying, “Y/n, you will go with Kara,” You take a step back, taking your hand away from Kal-el’s.
“We don’t want to hurt you, just to keep you safe.” Kara says quickly.
“This planet has people that can hurt you, but me and Kara are going to watch out for you.” Kal-el added to Kara’s statement.
“No harm will be done to you, Y/n. I promise, can you trust us?”
---
3 hours later
You sat on the ground, in a cell, with a tear-stained face, wishing Kal-el were here and that the horrible ringing in your ears from the silence would go away, with a sleeve of your Kryptonian clothes tasered off at a weird angle, letting your forearm show.
Kara was stressed out and you hadn't even been here for a day yet. Alex was dealing with the agents that had accidentally scared you. And you apologized in English over and over again, hoping that it would help.
Before J’onn or Alex even had a say, you were put in a cell by three other agents that were able to get you to calm down enough and left you all alone, freaking you out in doing so. When you heard the airlock seal and everything went silent, your head wasn’t so filled with noise anymore, but you felt as if your strength had been taken from you. The only thing you could hear was your breathing, before the bang of the door at the other side of the big room startled you, and just like that, you were all alone again. You didn’t even notice the green lights turn on until you couldn’t take the silence much longer.
Kara had been out for maybe an hour to go to CatCo and talk with a source about her current article, while you stayed at the DEO, in a cell, under green lights that made every part of your skin hurt, when Kara got a phone call and flew to the DEO with anger flowing through her veins.
“You put her in a cell?!” She shouted across the room. Startling most of the agents and making Winn wince in his seat.
“Supergirl, you need to know the whole story,” J’onn tried reasoning with The Girl of Steel.
“Don’t.” She cuts him off aggressively, walking up to main console area. “I told her she would be safe here. Not locked up for something she can’t control!” The Girl of Steel throws her arms in the air, out of anger.
“I’m not saying she should stay in the cell, but Kara,” Alex tried to reason with her sister. “she doesn’t have her powers under control at all.” Supergirl gives her sister an annoyed glance before saying anything.
“I wasn’t put in a cell when I got here, now was I?” She points the question to her superiors, who stay quiet.
“Where is she?” Alex takes a breath and leads Supergirl, silently, to your cell. Alex opened the door for her sister. Kara, being angry, and knowing what it was like to feel trapped, she couldn’t imagine what Y/n was feeling. She immediately opened your cell door.
“Y/n, come with me.” You shook your head at Kara’s words, trying to move away from the door, as you feel your strength start to creep back in.
“No. I hurt them. I don’t want to hurt the Humans.” You said trying to keep yourself from crying. Kara’s expression softened and walked towards you slowly.
“It wasn’t your-” Kara’s gaze shifted upwards, slightly feeling the posion from the green lights shining down on you. “Fault…” A new fueled rage filled with shock flowed through Kara. You didn’t notice Kara’s findings, but Alex did.
“Kara…” Alex put her hand over her mouth in horror, not aware of this till now. You weren’t listening to the agents, only could tell they were yelling at one another. All you knew was that of course you didn’t mean to but it was your fault.
“It wasn’t her fault!” Kara shouts at her sister, cutting the conversation to a close.
“Nothing seems to be my fault but look at what happened, before I got here everything was in perfect order.” You finally gave in to your tears and stuffed your face into your knees. Kara heard you, turning instantly, and took in the scene of you crying, underneath the kryptonite, pulled into a ball, she was almost brought to tears herself.
“Hey, Y/n, look at me..” Kara stepped forward, crouching down to be near you. “I promise you that things were never in perfect order since Kal-el and I got here a long time ago. Everything will be alright, just need some time to- Re-adjust, okay.” She smiles at you, as you lift your head slowly and nod, wiping your remaining tears away.
“Today I will teach you how to control your powers, but that also means being able to control your emotions too, think you can handle that?” You gave her a more confident nod. Supergirl walked out of the cell and you slowly followed, looking away from Alex, as you walked by, and out the door, following the red cape down the hall.
---
Two weeks later
“Y/n, Kara is going to be taking you with her today!” Alex said walking into the Med bay and over to the bed you sat upon.
“Where will we be going?” You sat on the bed uninjured in any way.
“You will have to ask her, I bet it’ll be a fun day!” You smiled slightly at the agent’s words.
“Will I get to see Earth, now?” Alex smiles, as she checks your last blood sample.
“Yes, and don’t worry you’ll get to see more and more with time.” You and Alex both, quickly, turn your heads toward the door; shouting coming from outside the room.
“You should understand that I am trying to keep my country safe, and without rules for the-” The door shut closed, as you and Alex both heard General Lane’s voice, booming from the level below both of you being cut off from the, now closed door.
You felt a ping of guilt flow through you, the General, that anger you heard from him was because of your presence, you knew it so.
“Kara, should be here soon.” Alex said, going back to her work, silently.
You had learned in the last two weeks that your being here had caused a lot more problems than anticipated, you had been told multiple times by Alex and Kara and some computer nerd, that you were not the problem, and that this was none of your fault. You were sure that it was your fault, but you wouldn’t let them know that. You knew they were trying to fix it.
Kara slipped in through the door letting a few booming words get past the doorway and closed it immediately.
“I’m here!” She smiled across the serious room.
While kara was all smiles, you could only think of how this was all your fault but you couldn’t do anything to fix it, you didn't have a clue where to start if you were to fix things.
“Are they still arguing…?” You asked, staring blankly at her. Kara nodded her head guiltily, and you rested your head in your hands, feeling defeated.
“Hey, let's get going, we're gonna have so much fun, today!” Kara put her hands on your forearms, and wiggled them gently, making you look up at her, while she tried to cheer you up.
---
The shirt felt weird, and the the sweater was going to make you suffocate. Anyways, you walked out to show Kara.
"Wow- Are you okay?" Kara asked when she noticed you're stressed face, and you shook your head.
"It's too tight." Kara rushed over and pulled the sweater off you, then giving you different clothes of hers to try on.
You weren’t sure how the other Kryptonian wore this every day, it felt like you would melt with, pants, a button-up shirt, and a sweater that made it feel like you had flown too close to the sun with Icarus.
“How- How do you wear this?” Kara chuckled at your question and walked over to you.
“If you're hot, you could try it without the sweater?” You nod in a hurry and she pulls it over your head, then putting it away as you speak.
“Do you have a breakfast?”
“Do I have a-” Kara started to repeat your question, before she realized what you were asking. “Yes, I do! Do you like pancakes?” Your face lit up with excitement, shouting,
“PANCAKES?!” Making Kara jump a little, but smile all in all at your excitement. “I love pancakes, so much” You sat down smiling, happily awaiting your pancakes.
-
“Okay, last thing is glasses.” Kara moved over to her bed, after cleaning up breakfast.
“Oh, that’s okay Kara, my eyesight is perfectly fine. I can even see through walls.” You took a bite of pancake.
“No, it’s not for your eyesight-”
“Are they spy glasses then?” You cut her off with your curiosity and a mouthful of pancakes.
“No, let me finish this time.” She gave you a strict look.
“Right, sorry.”
“Thank you. The glasses are for hiding your identity, so then if you ever want to be a superhero like me, no one will tell the difference between you and your superhero counterpart.” There was an awkward silence between the two of you for a moment.
“Can I talk now?” You asked innocently.
“Yes.” Kara breathed out, trying to hide her smile from how wholesome you were.
-
You touched down unsteadily on the concrete ground, wearing some of Kara’s clothes and a rain jacket, even when it was nowhere close to raining, with nice clear blue skies, but Kara wanted to make sure you wouldn't be cold. The dark color of your jacket was a large contrast from your lighter shirt and jeans, making you pop from the dimness of the backstreet you now stood in.
Your eyes scanned everything, the grove in the rocks, small piles of trash scattered around, a tattered, worn, pink couch that you knew wasn’t top of the line but was more comfortable than most, the steam coming from a mysterious place in the wall, the little pieces of grass swaying in the wind that blew by you invisibly and all the different textures of dirt, bricks and the fresh sounds that came with this brand new location on Earth.
“Come on, Y/n/n.” Kara gestured for you to follow her out towards the world, with tall buildings all around, the part of the world that was much more colorful, and warmer feeling, than this place, far from this place in between two large bricks..
To Kara this part of the world was always more chaotic, more noisy, more littered with people, more enemies around, and more threats. But to you, it was the best most exciting, most-
“What’s this?” Had been your question of the day, wanting to know the answer to all the different objects you had encountered, big or small, yearning to know what they were, why they looked like that, and how they worked. Even trying to go and touch a snake you found before being hissed at and scared out of your mind by its aggressiveness. All you wanted was to pet it.
“That’s a pen, Y/n.” Kara said, taking no more than 5 seconds, away from her coffee, to see what you were holding up and noticing the confusion plastered on your face.
“What is its function, though?” You examined the pen closely, not sure what it could be, while Kara moved all her things into one hand and looked over at you.
“It holds thoughts on paper.” She took it from your hands, and you almost grabbed it back, but waited, hoping she would read your mind. She uncapped the pen, writing out both your names on a paper she needed for work, while you stared in awe, but that was soon interrupted by a shout, as the elevator doors opened.
"Keriaaa!" Cat yelled for what seemed like the millionth time, before walking out of her office, hands on her hip, as Kara ran in, with you behind her.
"Miss Grant! I am so sorry, It will nev-".
"Who," Kara was cut off by Cat "is that, keria?"
She looked at you, suspiciously with a pointed finger. Kara hadn't thought about having to explain to Miss Grant about your being here.
"Y/n? She- uh-" Kara couldn't think. You poked out from behind the older Kryptonian and greeted Miss Grant with a small smile and a wave.
"Hello!" You didn't know she was supposed to be intimidating or a big respected news lady, not that you knew what the news was, to you she was just another regular Kryptonian, but this Krypton didn't have flying cars or anyone speaking Kryptonese and the clothing choices were very different, and no else could fly around like you could, so it wasn't really Krypton, but you didn't know anything else. Not until the DEO had told you everything you knew so far about this planet, which wasn't very much.
"Cousin! She's my cousin. Y/n is. My Foster Mom's, sister's daughter." Your face scrunches in confusion.
"I'm actually-" Kara swung her arm over your shoulder, bring you into a side hug.
"Hanging with me for a little while, for a visit, we don't see each other much." Kara pauses for a moment, "and my-".
"Keria." Cat said curtly as she nursed her newest headache "All this nonsense is making my head hurt, and all without my coffee." Kara hands the coffee over awkwardly and pulls you out of the room.
"Have I been calling you the wrong name this whole time?" Kara looks over at you, exhausted.
"No, it's Kara."
You think about it for a moment. "Oh, well I don't think the lady in there knows that.”
"She does." Kara lets out a sigh, glancing over into her boss’ office, pulling a spinny chair over for you to sit in.
You sat down and discovered that the chair moves in circles, without moving across the room itself. It was one of the coolest things you had ever seen. You spun in the chair a few times before stopping abruptly.
The phone was ringing, but to you that was the sound of death.
“Kar- Kara! What is that alarm for??” Kara was quick to assure you it wasn’t an alarm, and you didn’t need to panic.
“It’s just the phone ringing, Y/n, don’t worry.” Kara picked up the call, and immediately started drawing on a paper, with her pen. Which you now knew the function of; to hold memories on a paper.
-
You tapped Kara on the shoulder for the millionth time, when she finally turned towards you, staring daggers. You instantaneously backed up and left her alone until the phone call had ended.
“Y/n,” She whisper yelled towards you, “that was an important call. I need you to-”
“Kara, I really have to go the bathroom.” You interrupted.
“What?”
“Where is the bathroom?” Kara now understanding, showed you to it, so you wouldn’t get lost.
---
“Hey Kara,” Jimmy Olsen walked towards the blonde.
“Hey!” She smiled at her friend, starting to worry as you had been gone for almost a half hour, in the bathroom.
“Winn, might have told me some interesting news...” Jimmy makes a questioning face at Kara, before they are interrupted by their boss, who had noticed Kara’s little cousin was gone.
“Keria! I need you make sure layout has the right colors I sent them!” Cat yelled from her office.
“I’ll be back," She started to walk away, saying to herself "She should be back soon,” Her voice turns into a whisper. “hopefully...” As Kara gets on the elevator headed straight for layout on the floor below.
-
“Hello…? Kara…?” You walked aimlessly back towards her desk, as Cat waved you inside her office.
“Keria is doing something for me. So. Your Keria’s little cousin?” She takes off her glasses and invites you to sit on the couch. You sit and nod.
“Yes, I am her- Cousin.” You struggled to get the words out, not remembering how to articulate the new word. The older woman hummed in response and sat across from you, crossing her legs, one over the other, staring you down.
“Keria doesn’t talk much about family.” She pondered in her seat.
“I live- Far away, so I do not visit very much.”
“Do you stay for long when you do visit?” She questioned you, and you froze having no idea what to say.
“Uh not very long, usually just- Days.”
“Days?”
“One days, usually.”
“Kara is quite a lot older than you it seems, what do you get up to when she is at work all day?”
“I work, also.” You outright lied.
“You do?” She asked questionably.
“Yes, I do… Oh, and I am 14.” You said proudly, if you didn't know anything in the world, you would always know how old you were. “Kara is much older than me, yes. We are cousins.” You smile at her trying not to seem weird.
“Y/n!” Kara practically shouts your name from the doorway, walking in to meet you. You stood at her arrival and smiled at Miss Grant as Kara took your arm and pulled you towards her desk.
“What was that? Did you tell her anything? What did she ask you?” Kara was mad and slightly worried her boss knew she had lied to her.
“I just told her I am 14, and we are cousins.” You starting to walk towards your chair but stopped in your tracks.
“Keria. Do you always interrupt people’s conversations like that? We were learning so much about each other.”
“I’m sorry Miss Grant, Y/n has,” Kara takes half a breath and continues. “School work she needs to be working on.” The Girl of Steel really got out of that just by the hem of her cape.
-
The constant sounds of the squeaky chair, spinning around and around, started to irritate the girl with super hearing.
The world started to spin faster and faster around, your vision blurring and then it stopped. All quite suddenly, almost throwing you out of the chair. Kara tightly held onto the chair, digging her fingers in it just enough to get a good grip and stop the irritating noise.
“Can you, please, stop.” She begged you. “Once I finish this article, we can go around the city, do you like ice cream?” You had no idea what an icecream was, but you wanted to have some and nodded in response, but groaned at the world still spinning a bit before your eyes, slowing down by the second.
“Thank you.”
---
You ran down the curb of the street, a smile on your face, as you secured you and Kara’s spot in line for ice cream. You curiously watched others walk away with happy faces, holding their ice cream from a triangle tube! You were excited to say the least.
Kara chuckled at you, “Excited?” she said walking up to you.
“More than! I’ve never ever had ice cream, even, in the history of all the worlds!” Kara couldn’t help but smile at your excitement for new things, knowing you would be learning about a lot of new things in the coming months, just as she once did.
“What?” You chuckled, noticing your new friend, observing you fondly.
“Nothing…” Kara said smiling, and continued to look you over, now understanding that you were going through what she did. The blonde made a vow to herself, in that moment, waiting for ice cream that she would always make sure you weren’t alone, like she had so often felt when she first got to Earth. Now she had a mission, someone to take under her wing and watch over. She never got that chance with her cousin.
You feel in love with ice cream, loving every part of it. Kara becoming your friend, along with Alex and the computer nerd, Winn, was one of best things ever! Everyday was fun, well the days without someone on the verge of death, were always a good time. Wether you were at the arcade with Alex, or at girls night with the scientist, named Lena, or just saving the day, when you were allowed to at least. And over time you were sure that one day you would call this place home, even if at first it wasn't so high on your priority list...

Kiss Me in the Rain
It’s a quiet Friday evening. They’re quietly basking in each other’s company on the rooftop terrace of Kara’s apartment building. Since the blonde’s return, it’s become a common occurrence. Almost every time Lena asks what she wants to do, Kara’s response is ‘spend time with you doing simple things’. It’s something she has been insistent about in the months since she’s been home from the Phantom Zone, indulging in the small things.
Of course, Lena’s certainly not going to argue. Why would she? She’s been pining over her gorgeous best friend for years, always willing to give her time to the woman. Any time spent with Kara is time well spent, in her opinion. Besides, there is no one else she’d give her time to, no one else worthy.
Their current position has them leaning against the wall of the building, gazing out at the city with its twinkling lights and people mulling about. Inquisitive green eyes wander toward the distinct profile of her best friend standing next to her. She’s in awe of the way the dwindling rays of the sun seem to caress her tan skin and create a starburst of color in golden waves. All the while, her traitorous heart zealously flutters against her ribs, inelegantly clamoring to deposit itself into Kara’s strong hands.
The ravenette’s thoughts are broken as her eyes land on the concerned deep blue orbs staring back at her. Kara’s eyebrows crinkle and her eyes drop briefly to Lena’s chest before darting back up, a look in them that shoots sparks right down her spine. “Everything okay? Your heart just did some interesting acrobatics.” A lopsided smile joins the concerned crinkle on Kara’s handsome face.
Lena laughs. She’s been caught and there’s not a damn thing she can do about it. Yet again her body tells on her. No matter how much stoicism she uses to mask it, she’ll never fool super hearing. Maybe she needs to find a spell for that, she idly considers. “Yes, I’m fine. Just…lost in my thoughts.” She smiles, feeling the blush spread across her cheeks and down her neck. “Sometimes my brain still needs to see that you’re real, that you’re truly here. Sorry for staring.”
A warm hand lands on the small of Lena’s back and another on her stomach. Kara turns her body until they’re facing each other. “I’m here and very real, Lena. Thanks to your beautiful brain.” She leans forward, places a soft kiss to the ravenette’s forehead, and pulls her close until they’re in a full body embrace. “I’m so grateful for you. You’ve saved me so many times and in so many ways. More than you know.”
Lena’s breath hitches and her eyes flutter. The position is nothing new, but she still isn’t used to being so tactile with someone, having someone in her space again. Not yet, anyway. Kara’s warmth is something she wasn’t sure she’d have again and she cherishes every moment, but it absolutely steals her breath each time it happens. Specifically now that she is sure of what she feels and what she almost lost. “Kara.” She whispers, desperately trying to swallow the lump settling in her throat. “I missed you so much.” She blinks back the tears stinging her eyes, refusing to let them fall.
“I missed you too, Lena. The Phantom Zone made me relive losing you a million times.” She leans back and smiles sadly down at the watery green eyes of the woman she now realizes she’s very deeply in love with. “I feel like we have a lot of lost time to make up for. That I have so many things to atone for, if you’ll let me. I’ve been home for months and I know we spend most of our free time together, but it just…it never feels like enough.” She chuckles and rolls her eyes at herself as her cheeks turn rosy.
“Aww, does Supergirl want to hang out with little ole me?” Lena winks, smirks, and quirks a well-manicured brow at the blonde, loving the effect she has on her. Clearing her throat of the welling emotion, she returns to seriousness. “I feel the same way, Kara. Making up for lost time, earning your forgiveness, and unquestionably wanting to spend as much time with you as possible. All of it. I will never tire of being with you.”
A shy smile stretches across full pink lips as azure eyes curiously scan pale features, seemingly looking for an answer to unasked questions. The blonde shakes her head, rogue thoughts pushed aside. “Same. I think I could spend every waking moment with you and still miss you in my sleep.” Kara shrugs and leans back into their still lingering hug. She turns her face into the warmth of Lena’s neck, inhaling the familiar scent that is simply Lena. Her lips softly graze the pulsing artery under soft skin as she speaks. “I’m so glad you’re here with me. I don’t think I would be adjusting so well without you.”
Again, Lena’s breath hitches. The heat of Kara's breath and feel of her supple lips against the skin of her neck sends electricity skittering across her body and down her spine. She tightens her arms around the blonde’s back and runs her hands across her shoulder blades, pulling their bodies impossibly closer. “I’m here for you, Kara. Whatever you need. And for the record, I am perfectly okay spending every waking moment with you.” She mutters under her breath, ‘sleeping moments too’, forgetting that the super can still hear her.
Kara laughs and pulls away from Lena just enough that they are face to face again. She tilts her head to the side and stares for a moment, watching as pale cheeks turn pink. “Did you forget about my super hearing again?” A knowing smirk sitting on her lips. “You want to spend your nights with me too, huh?” She laughs as ivory skin darkens into a rouge.
“I suppose I did forget.” Lena says as she looks anywhere but at the blonde. “You definitely weren’t supposed to hear that.”
“Hmm, well I did. Does that mean you’ll sleep over tonight?” A hopeful, bright smile spreads across Kara’s face. “I was planning to ask anyway.”
A soft giggle rushes through Lena’s lips before she can stop it. “I suppose I can do that.” She pulls them both back toward the wall to look out at the now darkened sky. Desperate to change the subject, she points to the clouds across the city. “It looks like it might rain.”
“It does.” She smiles at the blatant subject change. “There’s something so alluring about the rain. A magnetic mystery. Something oddly romantic.” She nudges Lena’s shoulder next to her, ducking her head in slight embarrassment at her overshare. Slightly worried that the dark haired genius woman can see through her and spot the feelings that run wildly through her veins.
A soft, reflective smile appears on Lena’s face. “I used to have this daydream, or maybe a fantasy of sorts, when I was younger that involved rain.” She fidgets with her fingers where they rest on the edge of the wall in front of her. “I’m not completely sure why or where it came from, but it was the one that always stuck.”
Kara watches her closely, quietly encouraging the ebony haired genius to keep talking. When it becomes clear that Lena is lost to her own thoughts of whatever this fantasy might be, she reaches over to still her wringing hands. “Where’d you go? Did you drift off into this little fantasy of yours?” She smiles and wiggles her eyebrows, lacing their fingers together. “You can share, you know? All of your daydreams and fantasies are safe with me.”
Lena isn’t sure how Kara meant that statement, but her body took it to mean something decidedly not platonic. Once more, sparks skate across her skin and down her spine, landing squarely between her thighs. Shaking her head of the increasingly naughty thoughts, she glances over at the blonde. Her best friend is biting her bottom lip and staring at her lips at the same time.
She licks her lips and lifts a questioning brow when darkened blue eyes lock with her own. “I did get lost in my dream world for a minute. It’s been a while since I’ve allowed myself to think about things like that.” She smirks as Kara’s eyes drift down to her lips again. “Find something interesting, Kara?”
“Hmm? Oh. Sorry.” Kara says, feeling her blush spread across her cheeks and down her chest. “I was just thinking about what this fantasy involving rain could be. You’ve never really shared anything like that with me before and now I am very curious.”
A melodic laugh fills the air around them as it bursts from Lena’s lips. She squeezes the blonde’s hand still intertwined with her own. “I’ve never really shared them with anyone, I guess. Especially not this one. Growing up in the environment I did, I was never really allowed to express fantasies or daydreams of any kind. Especially not any that involved romanticizing.” She scoffs and rolls her eyes. “Could you imagine Lillian or Lex having any type of romantic inclinations?! They were barely human on a good day.”
Kara chuckles. There’s a sparkle of mischief in those beguiling green eyes. She’s spent many nights thinking about what kind of teenager Lena might have been and moments like this make her think there’s still much to learn about the mystery that is Lena Luthor. “I bet you are full of lots of surprises, aren't you?” She grins as she sees the cheshire cat smile make its way onto plump lips. “Oh, that smile tells me I’m not wrong!” She laughs and lifts their hands to her lips to place a soft kiss to the back of a delicate pale hand
“There are so many things you don’t know about me, Miss Danvers.” She winks and leans over to whisper in the blonde’s ear. “I was quite rebellious in my own ways. Some that very few people know about.”
She shudders at the wet warmth of Lena’s breath against the shell of her ear. They are most definitely skating on the edges of their normal flirtatious banter and it’s scattering goosebumps all over her impenetrable skin. Now she absolutely wants to know more, but specifically wants to know what this little fantasy is about. “You know you have to tell me now. I’m always curious to know more about you, but this has greatly piqued my interest.”
“What do you want to know?” Lena gives her a smoldering look, lightly running her free hand up and down the skin of Kara’s forearm. She smiles at the goosebumps that follow her touch. “I am an open book for you, Darling.”
Kara practically chokes on air and disbelief at the look the ravenette gives her. There is a shift in the energy between them. She’s not sure what it is or what’s happening, but everywhere Lena’s fingers touch her skin feels like her body is on fire. “W-what’s the rain fantasy? And I definitely want to know about your rebellious ways.” She tilts her head to the side. “I bet you went out and got tattoos and piercings, didn’t you?”
With a devilish smirk, she leans toward the blonde and whispers, “Oh absolutely. I still have several piercings. They’re just not visible.” She chuckles as she watches Kara’s eyes bulge and hears an almost inaudible squeak escape. “If you’re good, maybe I’ll show them to you someday.”
A very inelegant whimper makes its way out of her throat and her imagination runs wild. She has some ideas about where Lena’s piercings are and it does quite a few assuredly non-platonic things to her body. “I think it would be a lot…of fun. To know. Those things. About you.” She clears her throat in an attempt to clear her thoughts. “Now, what about the rain fantasy? Are you going to tell me or keep avoiding it?”
Lena laughs. A full belly laugh. She caught Kara off guard, but she recovered pretty well. “Are you sure you want to know? We’ve never really talked about those types of things together and I don’t want to make you uncomfortable.” She smiles at her best friend. “You can’t unknow this about me once it’s out there. Last chance.”
“I promise I want to know. There’s nothing you can say to me that will make me love you any less, Lena. It’s not possible.” She grins at the rosy cheeks she gets in return. “Plus, you’re only ever evasive like that if it’s something that means a lot to you. That will always make me want to know.”
She releases a deep breath and observes the way Kara’s eyes dance curiosity in the now overcast moonlight. The clouds have moved closer to where they are and darkened the sky around them. “I think it started when I watched The Notebook when I was 18. I kept hearing the girls in my dorm talking about how romantic the movie was and I had never seen it.” She glances at Kara. The blonde is listening intently so she continues.
“By the way, that movie is emotionally devastating. Anway, I watched it on my laptop tucked into my bed in my dorm. The scene where they confess their feelings and end up kissing in the rain resonated with me and sparked a fantasy of being kissed in the rain by the love of my life.” She laughs and rolls her eyes. “Unfortunately, life doesn't always work that way. So, over the years, the fantasy has evolved and built upon the first kiss in the rain.”
“What has it evolved into? It obviously started from kissing in the rain, but there seems to be a lot more to it based on the look in your eyes and how far your mind wandered off.” Kara grins and watches Lena’s mind slowly drift again. “Just like that! You just drifted off again.”
Lena shakes her head and forces her thoughts back to the conversation, away from the erotic fantasy that has begun to feature the woman next to her in recent years. “Sorry. Well, it varies, but it always involves kissing in the rain. Sometimes there are torn sheets in the rain as well.” She cuts her eyes to the side and watches as the blonde’s brain catches up with her words, chuckling when blue eyes go wide. “The simplest one starts with a picnic under the stars and ends with making love on the blanket. But, it’s always interrupted by the rain.”
She pauses and gathers her thoughts before finally adding. “I think my favorite is making love on the blanket. When the rain comes, we scramble to cover ourselves and end up tearing the sheets that are covering our naked skin. As the rain falls, our bare bodies are pressed together while we stand in the rain wrapped in the sheets. We share a passionate kiss as the rain pleasantly stings our skin. Then we profess our love for each other as we rest our foreheads together in the middle of a rainstorm.” She sighs and shrugs her shoulders. “Or something like that.”
Kara stands stock still and is eerily quiet beside her. She’s unsure what to say or do after the incredibly intimate and vulnerable confession. Swallowing hard, she chances a glance at the woman next to her and what she sees sends a shudder through her body and throb to her core. The blue of her eyes barely rim the wide, blown out pupils. Her cheeks are flush and her breathing is heavier than before. If she had to guess, she would say the blonde is turned on by the revelation. And well, she’s not sure what to do with that at the moment.
So, she clears her throat and tries for self-deprecation. “It’s a bit unrealistic, but something about it has always stayed with me.” She smiles shyly. “Have you ever fantasized about something like that?”
“Um, yeah. I guess so.” Kara swallows hard. She’s not sure she can speak coherently right now. Every word and the way Lena talked about it produced some very vivid images. The images are still dancing in her mind's eyes. Images of her and Lena acting out the fantasy. And well, let’s just say that her heart isn’t just beating in her chest anymore. “T-that was…I can understand why it stayed with you. I think it will likely stay with me too.” She chuckles.
Lena leans her head onto Kara’s shoulder. “Hmm, glad I have someone to share the burden now.” She laughs and squeezes the bicep of the arms that’s holding up her head. “There’s just something about kissing in the rain that seems like it would be so raw and real. I think it would be a very memorable first kiss.”
They stand in silence for a while. Both lost in their own thoughts, when the first drop of rain hits their skin. It takes another five minutes before the rain really starts coming down. Before they know it, they’re both laughing and leaning into each other, letting the rain wash over their skin.
“Well, I guess that means we need to call it a night, huh?” Kara says, pulling Lena away from the wall and toward the door to the stairwell. “Thank you for sharing that with me. I know it wasn’t easy for you.”
Lena smiles. “Sharing with you makes it easier.” She pulls the blonde to a stop just before they get to the door, slowly running her hands up the now damp skin of Kara’s forearms. “What if I wanted it to be you?” She asks quietly as her arms loop around the blonde’s shoulders.
Still darkened blue eyes bounce between hopeful green. “W-what do you mean?” Kara asks, swallowing the hope that keeps trying to camp out in her throat. “Tell me, Lena.”
Delicate fingers mingle with the loose strands at the nape of Kara’s neck, pulling their foreheads together. Lena gently rubs their noses together, their breath mingling in the scant space between them. She breathes against the pink lips she’s imagined kissing for years. “My first kiss in the rain. The fantasy has been you for years. All of it has been.” A shaky breath escapes as their eyes lock and she presses forward. “Tell me to stop.”
“I don’t want you to.” Kara whispers. “Please. Kiss me in the rain.”

I came up with this because I accidentally drew a superfam reader, so I wanted to know if you guys wanted some yandere platonic supefam stuff here?
Anyway, here's what the 'reader' looks like:
Tumblr media
(Please do NOT steal my art!)
I haven't used digital art for a while, so it looks a bit scrappy 😅
Quick Description:
Superfam reader is the first child of Clark and Lois which is why she looks a bit older. So, basically, she's like a mother/older sister to the younger members. Unfortunately, she didn't obtain a lot of Kryptonian abilities which caused the possessive nature of her family. However, instead of fighting crime, she decided to study medicine in order to help her family which is why she's currently a med student.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
(Edit: I messed up the question title. It's supposed to be called "Should I add Yandere Superfam content here?" My bad 😅)

--------------
You were a baby when Krypton exploded, your parents sent you to Earth. They hope you could live a good life, they gave you a blanket and your sister gave you her special necklace like a gift and a charm.
Your pod lend on earth, in a country called Sokovia. Despite you hadn't the most luxurious life, you loved your life there. You met your best friend Pietro and her sister Wanda when you were three. The three lost your parents during the war, you quickly became inseparable. With time you developed feeling for the girl and you asked her out when you were 16, fortunately for you she had the same feelings and she accepted to be your girlfriend just after your first date.
You had the best life, you thought. At 15 you discovered your powers, it was strange and you were afraid to hurt your best friends but the reassured you and even help you to control your powers. After three years with the love of your life and your best friend, you decided to learn more about your past. You found your old pod and you didn't know how but you activated a record of a woman she said she was your biological mom. She explained you what happened to Krypton and why she had sent you here, she also told you that you had a family before Earth, you saw an hologram of your family and in your pod you found a picture they took just after your birth.
"Hei, iubirea mea. Esti bine (Hey, my love. Are you alright?)" Wanda asked you. It's been one week since you found about your origins and you spent all your time locked in your bedroom, you started the picture and your blanket.
"Da, nu-ți face griji (Yeah, don't worry)." You said but she can sense you were lying. She sat next to you and wrapped her arms around shoulder.
"I'm here, I'll not let you. Never." She whispered
"Thanks you." You replied and after that there was a comfy silence until you broke it. "I think I need to leave." You confessed and she looked at you confused "for the past week I tried to learn the Kryptonian, and I think I can use my pod to find more information about Krypton. It's weird no? An entire planet exploded from a reason unknown and nobody try to found why?" you were now completely in her lap.
"Do you have anywhere to started to search?" She asked, and you could hear the worry in her voice.
"Yeah, I'll started to search the debris of my planet and I'll asked at the planets nearby." you replied.
"You're leaving?" Pietro asked from the doorway
"Don't worry prostesc (silly), I'll just leave for few months and if it's too dangerous I'll come back quickly I promise." you reassured him.
The next you were ready to leave. You were in front of your pod with the twins, Wanda kissed you and for a second you reconsider your decision. "Ew, gross. Get a room." The boys said and you both laughed
"Oh if you know what we did yesterday." You teased him and Wanda punched your shoulder
"Y/n!!" she yelled and you laughed
"I didn't want to know that." Pietro said and Wanda cover her face with her hands.
You let your girlfriend to hug your best friend (and if everything goes well your future brother-in-law) "promise me you won't do anything dangerous little boy, and keep an eye on my girlfriend." You said
"Promise E.T" he replied and you chuckled.
You walked to Wanda and hugged her too "promise me to not forgot me and keep an eye on him, he's not the smarter" you said, and you decided to not considered the protest of her twin.
"I promise dragă (darling)" she replied, and she sealed the promise with a kiss. "But promise to came sound and safe." she said
"I promise" you replied and kissed her. You jumped on your pod and entered the data with your two weeks skills of Kryptonian. You said your goodbye and now you leave for the space, for the first time since you came in Earth.
The journey was calm, you were like a kid in Christmas day when you watched all the planets and the start you met. After two days of travel, you were here. There was nothing like you thought, just the rest of asteroid. You wanted to use your power to fly and examined more but you couldn't. And now you started to feel it, you were weak like pretty weak. You wanted to go in another planet when a big ship just swallowed your pod.
On the mysterious shop you were greet by two man with weapons, you first reflexe was to use your heat vision to disarm them but nothing came out. It was little cringe but you tried to use your cold breath and again nothing came. Okay now it was cringe. The two men exchanged a look they seem to have intern discussion and suddenly one of them just grabbed your arm, you tried to defend yourself but you couldn't.
"Hey let me go!!" You yelled but they just dragged you to a tiny room. On of them leave and returned ten minutes later with a woman. She was blonde with blue eyes, she familiar.
"Who are you?" she asked,
"Who are you, you? I'm just a girl who came here to have responses." you replied
"Nobody came here since a long time now." she said "only the fools came here, but you don't like a foo--" she was cut off by a third man.
"General Zor-El, we found the ship she used to come here. It's a Kryptonian pod" he said and the woman wided her eyes she was about to say something but the man spoke again "and we found that." She handled her, your red blanket.
"Hey! Don't touch this." you yelled and the woman looked at you but her expression changed, she was not angry, she was confused.
"Where do you find it?" She asked
"My parents gave it to me when they sent me in Earth. That's why I came here because I want responses" you explained and she started to cry.
She approached you and noticed the necklace you wore. "Y/n?" she asked with a little voice.
"How do you know my name?" now it was your turn to be confuse, and when she hugged you that just increase the confusion.
"I thought I would never see you again" she said. You didn't know what you could reply so you just hugged her back. She broke the hug and examined you "you became a pretty woman" she said and you blushed. You wanted to say something but she looked at a guard "Tell my mom and my dad I come back now. I have someone who should probably want to see them" she ordered and the man did.
"You didn't tell me your name." You said awkwardly
"I'm Kara. Your sister" she replied, and she cried again. For the past nineteens years she thought she lost this title but now you were here, with her.
You remembered the recorded from the pods, yeah it was true Kara she's your sister. You hugged her tightly, "I'm happy to see you." You said and rubbed your back. It was the first someone expected your adoptive parents or the Maximoff did that to you, but even if you knew her only since few minutes her touch was warm and welcoming.
After that, you spend all the fly to talk with Kara, she replied at your question about your past and she explained more what happened to your mother planet.
"General Zor-El, we are here." A man said. You lend only two minutes later. You grabbed a suitcase you took with you. And it was heavy, of course you packed it when you were on earth so it was easy to transport but now it was an other world.
Your sister didn't wait to long before she dragged you in a big house. When you enter you saw the woman from the record and your vision was blurry from the tears. You didn't waited you ran to hugged her tightly.
"Welcome home." she whispered to your ears
"Yeah, I'm home now." you said. Your dad came and place his hand on your shoulder, you gave him a hug too. And after you met a other man, he was more young but older than your sister.
"Y/n, this Kal-El your cousin. Kal-El, this Y/n the little sister of Kara." Your mom introduced you and you hugged him too
"Wow you're the most muscular man I met." you said and everybody laughed.
After some hours to know each other, your mom and your sister decided to bring you with them for a walk.
"So how is the life in Earth?" your sister asked you
"It's pretty good," you replied and you smiled when you thought about Wanda.
"Did you meet good people?" Your mom asked this time
"Yeah." you replied "I mean there are some ones who are not pretty good but yeah. I had the luck to be raised by the Y/l/n, they were goods parents. And I met Wanda and Pietro, they are twins and my best friends."
"What do you mean by 'they were good parents'?" Alura remarked
You paused a moment, it's been a long time since you spoke about the parents who raised you. You didn't really spoke about it with the twins because they had the same issues.
"They're dead." you reply calmly "there was a war and lot people died. Them and Wanda's parents too." you explained
"I'm sorry" the blonde girl said.
"It's fine it's been a while now" you looked at the sky for moment "it should their anniversary soon." You added. "But don't talk about bad thing now. I have a lot of questions. Like the first why I can't use my power since I was in front of the rest of Krypton. Or is there anything who could hurt us because on earth I feel like invincible. Oh and will I be blind if i use my x-ray on a mirror and it reflects on my eyes?"
Your enthusiasm made their happi. They replied by 'red sun'; 'kryptonite' and 'why do you even though about it?'. At the night you decided to stay a little longer to learn about all. And Kal-El and Kara proposed you to train with them you know just in case. After one month in Argo you fully felt like home. Everybody was kind and took their time to explained everything you didn't understand. Your sister proposed you to help her with a rescue mission, a Kryptonian was stuck in a planet since few years and he finally found a way to send a SOS message.
"Wow, it's beautiful." You said with your face against the window. "Hey Kara look, i think were are here" you pointed a planet.
"Yeah" she replied "you need to prepare to go" she said. When the ship lended you were one of the first outside. Since you started to train with them, Kal-El gave you a tactical suit, it was black with a white 'S' logo on the chest. You were glad to be a part of the mission.
"So where are we going?" You asked at your sister
"Followed us, I tracked the signal." she said and you did. Thirty minutes later you were in front of a base, Kal-El didn't want to be discrete and just exploded the door with his super strength. You followed them inside. Their was a lot of guard but fortunately for you they were not strong enough to beat the three of you. You almost started to question why they need you, this planet is in yellow sun solar system and every one seems weak.
But when you enter in hallway who lead to the room where the Kryptonian was, your started to feel weak yourself, your felt like you were burning from the inside and you couldn't use your power.
"Kara, I'm sick" you said. When you looked at the two older Kryptonian they were in the same condition as your.
"It's kryptonite Y/n" Kal-El replied, "we didn't planned this." he added. Now you understood why the Kryptonian needed your help. The entire hallway was covered of kryptonite, it was suffocating, you thought you were dying; two guards dragged you in the cell but before they could closed the door a wall exploded.
You see her, a woman who were glowing with honey hair and brown globe; but what caught your attention was her suit, blue and red with a tiny touch of gold. She looked at you and seemed to understand you were not from this planet and not in a good stare because she helped you immediately.
"Who are you?" She asked when she led you out of the base.
"I'm Y/n." You replied
"Nice to meet you Y/n. I'm Captain Marvel but you can call me Carol." She said. "You're not from here right?" She asked
"No, I'm from Earth. I'm a Kryptonian from earth." You replied, and she seemed to examine you.
"But what are you doing her?" She finally asked
"I wanted to learn about my origins so I travel to my mother planet and I met my family. And then after my sister proposed me to help her on a mission." You replied and she nodded.
"Okay I see." she looked at the base. "You should stay here I have something to finish there." she informed you. And started to glow again.
"Carol?" You called her. She looked at you "my sister and my cousin are still in there can you save them?" You asked and she smiled.
"I'm a superhero it's my job." She replied, and she leaves.
It took her only 15 minutes to take down the base and complete her mission. She came back with Kara, Kal-El and the Kryptonian who needed help. On your way back to Argo you talked a lot with Carol, she told you about her past on earth; about Fury, the Skrull, about Monica and Maria; and you told her about Wanda, Pietro and Sokovia. Carol spent some day with you and trained with you she didn't find you a nickname 'Supergirl' but unfortunately for you she couldn't stay. You spent lot of months to trained and one day you decided it was the time to leave. You love your family but you need to see the twins and you missed your girlfriend a lot.
The day of your departure every one was emotional and it broke your heart but you had to leave. You said your goodbye to your parents and Kal-El when Kara came to you.
"I know you decide to become a hero when you'll be back on earth so I asked some help to make this." She said while she handled you a mallet. "I hope you'll like it." she added and she hugged you.
"Can I open it now?" You asked and she smiled
"You can but it will ruin the surprise." She said and you decided to open it later. After few minutes of talk you were back in space for a long travel.
You were sleeping when you enter the atmosphere but the noise of the thunder woke you up. You looked through the window to find a part of the Sokovia in the air. You rubbed your eyes but it was not a dream. When the pods lend in little far from the chaos you took the mallet, when you opened it there was paper note
'Let's become a superhero'
It was wrote in Kryptonian but you recognize Kara's handwritten. You quickly grabbed what looked like your blanket to found a suit. It was a little like Carol's suit but in the chest there was the logo of your House. You smiled and used your super speed to change yourself. When you finished you heard Wanda and Pietro playfuly arguing because your girlfriend ordered him something. It's been long time since you heard her voice; you took few second to stretch before flew to the battlefield.
The Avenger were trying to evacuate civilians and fought the army of robot. Clint spotted a lonely boy and ran to protect him but a clone of Ultron surprised him, the robot was ready to shoot when Pietro ran in front of the Avenger and the child. The archer thought he lost the young speedster before the robot mysteriously exploded. "Oh come i just let onr year and you had the time to gaine power and almost die." you said and the older Maximoff smiled.
You lend in front of him and he hugged you "You're back." he said
"Oh you know how i am, i can't to far from your sister too long." you joked and a group of robot came to you the boys didn't have the time to react; you already used you fresh breath to stop them and you heat vision to exploded them. "You should get him in safety." you commented and the archer seemed to come back in the reality but the silver hair boy was faster (haha) and took the kid in the aircraft carrier.
Clint wanted to talk to you but you were alredy gone. You flew in the air to destroy some robot until you were hit by a red ball, you immediatly flew from where the projectile came from. You were surprise to found her, she seemed to sens your happiness because she turned around to met your gaze "Y/n?" she whispered.
You heard it thanks to your super earing "Hei, fetiță (Hey, baby girl)" you said and she rushed to you and kissed you. "oh i just came back and you're ready for the big game?" you asked playfuly and she punched your arm. You wanted to speak but a wave of robot came, you wanted to use your breath but Wanda just let her power exploded. But the most surprising thing was the fact that her magic seemed to affecte you.
The huge wave seemed to exploded the rest of the army, few second later everyone came to the curch to make sure Wanda was alright. They were to find you, a new face; the Hulk seemed to not like you but he didn't want to attack you until someone cough Natasha cough tell him. "Who are you?" Steve asked, and you just remrked that you were not alone with Wanda anymore.
"I'm Supergirl but you can call me Y/n" you replied and you smiled yourself at the mermory of yor first meeting with Carol. "And you are the Avengers, i know you1." they didn't say anything and just led you to Fury. The man examined you and Clint whispered him something in his ear.
"Supergirl right?" he asked and you nodded. He looked at your suit "My name is Fury, i'm the--"
"Wait Fury like Nicholas Fury?" you cut him off and everybody looked at you confused. "I met Carol Danvers, i mean Captain Marvel. She's very kind, and she told me about you and your adventure against the khree." you said excited.
The witch was happy to see her girlfriend acted like a fangirl but she couldn't help but felt a little jealous. Who is this Carol?
"You met Carol?" Fury asked.
"Yeah I traveled into space to find information and then i found my family and little after i met her" you axplained, you paused and looked at the people around you "Wait" you looked at the twins "did you become avengers when i was gone? Oh come on Wands you prmised we will do this together." you said dramatically and the avenger laughed
"I like her" Thor commented, "and she seem strong" he added
"We'll figurated this later" Maria said, and everybody looked at her "you need to take a shower" she added
"Welcome to the team kids" Natasha said smiling at you and the avenger started to walk out
You turned to Wanda and she already knew "Wand the fucking infamous Black just talk to me. And she smiled at me. Oh God do you see her smile she's beautiful. I like her hair, do you think i should dye my hair like her?" you said and Pietro laughed
"Oh it's rude i though i was your favorite girl" she sokovian replied and even with the humorous tone and her smile you could sens she was jealous
"I like her she's like my favorite Avenger but you know what?" you asked and she shook her head. You took a step froward, you wraped your hands around her waist and focused on her green eyes "I love you Wanda Maximoff, like a lot, a lot, a lot." you siad and kissed her.
"Ew gross, get a room." Pietro said adn you laughed.
After that you took a shower and you spent the night at the hotel, you were talking with the twins about the things you missed since your travel. They told you how they get their power and you told them how you get your suit. Suddenly you smiled and Pietro noticed.
"What's funny E.T." he asked and her sister looked at you
"Oh nothing i'm just happy." you replied
"Why?" Wanda asked. You looked at her and kissed her
"I'm home" you said

Late Night
Kara Danvers x Teen!daughter!reader
Summary- You stay out late to protect the city but Kara doesn't see it the same way you do.
Warnings- Angry Kara and Reader, worried Kara, Yelling,
Tumblr media
Not my Gif*
Kara was worried, she was always worried even if you were only a few minutes late from the time you said you would be home. Tonight was different. She had a long day at CatCo and expected to find you at home when she got there later than normal. You, however, were no where to be found. Not under the sink or in the closet, not even sitting in the tub. There was no one sprawled out on the couch watching a movie or reading there favorite book. It was empty. You were no where to be found.
Kara called some of your friends parents asking if they knew of your whereabouts, all but one saying they didn't have a clue and hoped she could find you. The one mother that did, said that their kid had seen you briefly at the library, but the library had been closed almost an hour by now. Kara was starting to really get worried.
The blonde sat in one of the kitchen chairs, waiting. She waited and waited and all she cared about was that she could still hear your heartbeat and clinged to the sound, so much so that she almost didn't notice when it become much louder, and snapped her head towards the door when she heard footsteps outside.
Kara wasn't just gonna let you get off easy. You were gone. Didn't tell anyone, let alone the adult watching over you, so she was worried and nervous, yes. But mostly angry, mad, really mad, livid even. Kara could go off when she wanted to, but she mostly tried to stay cooled off. You on the other hand strolled down the hallway, feeling accomplished and brave, then slowly opening the apartment door, right into Kara's face. You chuckled and greeted her.
"Hi Kar-"
"Don't 'hi' me." She stared straight into your eyes. White knuckling the door in her hand. Keeping you from coming all the way in. "Where were you?" She questioned, noticing a smudge of black on your neck and a bit on your forehead.
"Um," Mind racing you answer quickly. "the library."
"The library closed two hours ago. Try again."
"I was just out."
"Doing what? Why do you smell like smoke?" She said pulling you inside the apartment. Jaw clenched she eyed you. Only now noticing a bruise forming on your cheek.
"I-"
"Don't lie to me." She says refocusing on your whereabouts.
"The Brooks Hotel on 3rd and 4th was on fire, so I went to help out, after studying. An-"
"You what!?" Kara became worried something might have happened. "You know, You can't just go flying into fire. We're not fireproof. Your a kid. My kid at that, I can't lose you because you choose to go running into a wild fire without backup or even letting a grown up know."
"But I am grown up! I'm 16, Kara!"
"Just because by state law you are allowed to drive doesn't mean you are allowed to-"
"Save lives? So if I see someone dying I should just wave it off, even when I know I can help. That's not very hope, health, and compassion for all, of you, Supergirl." You snapped at her, crossing your arms.
"Y/n-" She breaths out, you knew how to push her buttons. "Go to your room. We'll talk in a bit." You walk away knowing you'll have to tell her what happened eventually, or she'd find out eventually and you'd be in even bigger trouble.
Kara sighed when you were out of sight. She thought about what happened and what she was going to say once you had some time to cool off.
---
You were crying under the covers to yourself. Kara, however, took a deep breath, and knocked on your door.
"Can I come in?" She asked cautiously. You shouted at the door instead, tears in your eyes
"No!" Kara slowly, opened your door anyway.
"Hey..." She greeted you softly from the doorway.
"Go away."
"Y/n, I'm sorry for snapping at you, can you tell me what happened, again? No interruptions this time." You stayed silent from under your covers, trying to keep your tears at bay. "Would you like to talk about it right now?"
"No." You mumbled. Kara heard you, nodding to herself.
"We can talk tomorrow, sweetheart. You get some rest, okay?" She stared at you for any sign of recognition.
"Kara?" You mumbled again, but you knew she could hear you.
"Yes?" She perked up to your small voice.
"Come here" Kara immediately walked over to you.
"Y/n/n...?" She carefully pulled the covers back, so she could see your, now, red face. "Oh, what's wrong, sweetheart?" You couldn't say anything, words seemed so far away, instead starting to quietly cry seemed like the best option to get your point across and it broke Kara's heart. She instantly took you into a gentle hug.
"Can you tell me what's wrong, Y/n?" When you didn't respond, she just continued to hug you, giving you a squeeze to let you know she's there, and that she'll always be there.
Later, when you had finally calmed down, Kara slowly backed out of the hug and leaned over wiping the smudge on your forehead with her thumb. Then maneuvered your face so she could see the bruise you had gotten and looked it over, then whispering.
"We're going to see Alex tomorrow about this." She said examining your cheek, trying to be as gentle as she could and then shifting her gaze up to your eyes, saying, "Are you alright, now?" you waited a moment, thinking, and nodded yes to her. A smile grew on her face.
"I'm sorry, Kara." She looked at you tenderly.
"I know, we're gonna talk more tomorrow, you go on to sleep. I love you." And she kissed you asleep.

Don’t mind me
I’m just constantly thinking about how Iris said in her wedding Vows to Barry that The flash might be the cities hero, but Barry Allen is her hero.
Tumblr media
And how a year earlier Lena literally said the same thing to Kara, “Well supergirl may have save me but Kara Danvers, you are my hero”

how many times will I do season 3 finale-related angst?
cady heron voice: the limit does not exist
~
Winn figured the Legion would return at some point.
It made all the sense in the world that they would, in fact- they’d left one of their own here, in what even their leader now considered the past.
In his mind, for the past month, he’d always imagined it would be quick. That once Supergirl and the DEO took down Reign, the Legion cruiser would just be there like they knew the exact day and time for their arrival (which would probably be true) and Mon-El, having presumably sorted out his love triangle situation, would either go back with them or stay in the twenty-first century. In extremely optimistic times, Winn hoped that the Legion would even thank them for stopping Reign and the Worldkillers (which would have made an amazing band name, he’d just realized) before leaving.
But which scenario ended up happening didn’t matter to Winn. Either way, a certain obnoxious blue alien with a number in his name who was (Winn begrudgingly admitted) good with computers would be out of his life for good, and both of them would be happier for it.
So when the Legion arrived not only before Reign was defeated, but also didn’t just take Mon-El and go, it surprised him.
And when J’onn told him that Brainiac 5 wanted to speak with him personally?
Well, for all he knew, he could have unknowingly stumbled into an alternate universe, because that shocked Winn the most.
~
Brainy was already sitting down when Winn entered the conference room- but who he was looking at seemed to be almost a completely different person compared to how he’d last seen him. This Brainy had his image inducer off, not bothering to hide the bags under his eyes, or his stringy hair, or his uniform that looked like he’d been sleeping in it for a while- or wearing it while not sleeping at all, given the rest of his appearance. He looked like how Winn had met him first, waking him up from hypersleep- as Brainy later described it, he was tasked with keeping everything running while the ship hibernated, and it took a large toll on him.
And now?
Winn didn’t know what kind of new stress Brainy was under, but he was certainly about to.
“Why just me?” he asked. “Shouldn’t Mon-El be here too?”
“Imra told him all he needs to know.” Brainy dismissed. “But you…”
“I get it, you want to try and apologize for how you acted, but are gonna come off even more condescending. Save it. We’re even, okay? We can start over. We might as well forget we never met- wait. Are you going to make me forget you? I mean, with time travel being involved, that makes sense…”
“Winslow.” Brainy answered, voice sharp- or trying to sound sharp, anyway, but coming off more blunt than anything else. “That is not why you are here.”
“Then what is it? I mean, it must be pretty important- or not, if it’s just me here instead of like, Supergirl…”
“Supergirl is needed here, in this time.” Brainy ran a hand through his hair. “But… I should start from the beginning.”
“Yeah. Because I’m real confused right now.”
Brainy nodded.
“Understandable.” He said, getting up from the table, before he began to speak.
“Killing Pestilence saved the future from the Blight.” He started, leaning over the table, gripping it so tightly it dented. “Millions of people were spared. Including…” he hesitated. “Including my extremely distant relative- you may be aware of him.”
“Brainiac.” Winn said. “I saw him on TV, as a kid- he tried to take Metropolis.”
“Indeed.” Brainy answered. “My great-great-grandfather. And, because he has returned to life, he became aware of the effects of the Blight upon the universe, and created a plague that will wipe out all AIs other than himself. In short, all AIs are in danger, and that is part of why I can no longer stay in the thirty-first century.”
“So you need me to go to the future with Mon-El and Imra, and create… what, a vaccine? Even for AIs, that’s not really my specialty.”
“You will have help.” Brainy answered, trying to smile, and sound reassuring. “And… yes, in part. But that is not the only reason.”
“So, what’s the other one?”
Brainy hesitated once more.
“The other complication here is that my people believe me to be the cause of all this.”
“What?” Winn said immediately, hands on the table. “That’s bullcrap- obviously it’s Brainiac’s fault, you didn’t know he’d do that.”
“That is what I was trying to tell them.” Brainy said. “But they would not believe me. In their minds, I must have communicated with him, through my ancestral memories or otherwise, and brought him back from death on purpose- my ulterior motive for helping the Legion defeat the Worldkillers.”
“Which it obviously wasn’t.”
“Correct.” He answered. “However, they still think otherwise. And it is all because…” He waved a hand over the circles on his head. “Of these.”
“The symbol of your people.” Winn said, remembering what Indigo had told him, Kara, and James, before she’d wrapped her hands around his throat. “Something about omniscient knowledge?”
“Yes. However… what it symbolizes and what it indicates are complete opposites.”
“What?”
“You see, Winslow… my family has always stood out, been different from the rest of my people. We did not always have the reputation we now do- ten billion years ago, one of my relatives was a member of an organization that exists even into my own century. She and her wife were revered- and she was also a third-level intellect, then the highest we had evolved to have.”
“So even ten billion years in the past, one of your great-whatever grandmothers was smarter than me.” Winn muttered. “Good to know.”
“That is not my point.” Brainy said. “Her children were smarter than her, and their children were more intelligent than their parents, and so on and so forth- my great-great grandfather was the first to reach the twelfth level.”
“Which you also are. And you wouldn’t let me forget about.”
Brainy sighed.
“Yes. However, if you can believe it, that is not what you would call the norm among all Coluans. The average- what is seen as safe- is eighth-level. Anyone who does deviate is seen as dangerous, needing to be controlled.”
“So, like Brainiac 8.”
“Exactly like her. In that case, she was sentenced to serve the Kryptonians, and her inhibitors expressed such a punishment. But for me, it seemed as though my only crime was my last name.”
I can relate to that, Winn thought.
“So what happened?”
“For seven years, nothing was out of the ordinary.” He said, looking down. “My parents were… distant, though their partnership was arranged anyway, which made sense. As a child, I wanted to be just like my mother- there was nothing better, I believed, than following in her family’s legacy. Achieving the goal of being her heir, gaining the title of Brainiac 5.”
At that, Winn almost wanted to amend his question to “What did you do?” but let Brainy tell his story.
“And, in accordance with such a goal, she started teaching me one of our family’s most notorious practices- how to bottle worlds.” He continued. “Vril Dox- Brainiac 1- saw it as the ultimate power that he could possess. What was better than literally holding an entire civilization in your hands, all the accumulated knowledge of a world at your fingertips, just for you? Than having a library that surpassed any other, full of planets that nobody else would have access to? That was what she was trying to show me.”
“Must’ve worked, for a while.” Winn said. “I mean, if you still remember all of that.”
“It did.” Brainy answered. “My father did not understand us. He was afraid of not only her, but also…”
He gestured to his forehead again.
“He put those on you?”
“Yes. When I was eight years old, we took what you would call a vacation, to the most beautiful planet I had ever seen. I felt like I could have stayed there forever, playing in the snow, forgetting all of my burdens. But when we left, my mother told me I could keep such happiness- and gave me a bottle, for that purpose. My father was horrified, and when he figured out what we were trying to do, he took the bottle away and freed the planet. I was so young and angry, and it terrified him. When he looked at me, he didn’t see a child anymore- he only saw the inner darkness he believed I possessed. In his eyes, I became a weapon, molded by my mother. And his solution was the personality inhibitors I wear to this day.”
“I’m sorry, personality inhibitors?”
“It may seem barbaric, but yes. With them on, a Coluan is unable to calibrate themselves with our planet’s network of minds.” Brainy finished.
“And that’s why they don’t trust you.” Winn said. “Because you look like a criminal to them- but you’re not the only one that thought his genes were a ticking time bomb. Even now, I still wonder sometimes if something’s gonna happen to me, like what happened to my dad, and then everything will go wrong. But most of the time, I know that if it does, I’ll have friends who I can talk to, who’ll help me.”
“You do.” Brainy said.
“And so do you.” Winn reminded him. “I may not know the Legion, but I figure that they love you, and will always fight for you- because you’re good to your core, and not like any Brainiac that your planet thinks you are.”
“They will.”
“And…” Winn really didn’t want to promise this. When he said he wanted to move on from the DEO at some point, do bigger and better things- even if working with Supergirl was the best thing that had ever happened to him- the last thing he pictured was defending Brainy from the negative beliefs of another planet. But if helping him meant saving his world and reputation…
“I will too.” He finished. “I’ll go to the future, and join the Legion in your place.”
Brainy smiled, and this time when he hugged Winn, it was warmer, less awkward- the kind of hug that would be between two people who knew they were saying goodbye for that moment, but would meet again in better times.

“What’s the deal with you and Harrington?”
Robin Buckley glanced up toward the question asker, her brows slightly furrowed as she cast an inquisitive look toward Eddie Munson. He’s leant up on one of his elbows, chin cradled in the palm of his hand. His eyes are on her, large and curious, instead of the usual half-lidded expression he wears during the “adult” hangouts.
They’d all started hanging out ever since Vecna was destroyed, taking time away from the younger members of The Party to spend time all together. Herself, Eddie, Steve, Nancy, Jonathan, and Argyle. Sometimes, every once in a while, it led them all to feel normal. As if they hadn’t all been dealing with more Upside Down crap just a few months prior.
“What do you mean?” Robin instead asked, her eyes moving from Eddie’s to dart out toward the Harrington’s pool. Steve is sitting on the edge of it with Jonathan, the two boys heads bent together as Argyle watched on- a dopey almost lovesick expression curled on his mouth. A spliff dangled from Jonathan’s fingertips, rolled by Eddie but the weed supplied by Jonathan.
“You’re… not together.” Eddie’s voice is soft, and barely spoken above a murmur. Robin nodded slowly, and turned her head towards him to try and indicate him to continue. “Nancy and the kids all repeat platonic with a capital P, but I just… how did you and Harrington even happen?”
“Scoops A’hoy,” Robin grinned wide, barely able to stifle the laugh that’s on the backend of her words. She was able to catch the widened look that Eddie threw her way, before his eyes darted out to look towards Steve, before his eyes moved back to her own. “He and I worked there back when the mall was open.”
“And… what? You instantly became best friends?”
“No, actually.” Robin shook her head with another soft laugh, before she paused so she could rub her palms together. She allowed herself to twist one of her rings around her finger, brows pinched for a moment. “I actually thought he was like the worst, y’know?” Robin scoffed to herself, before she sent Eddie a look. She knew what she must look like, her eyes wet with tears and her gaze all permanently soft.
“You know how he was in school, King Steve and all that.” Robin continued on, and she flicked her tongue out of her mouth to wet the corner of her lips for a second. “And when my manager told me that I’d be working with a Steve, well… there was only one Steve in Hawkins I could think of.”
“So how did your opinion of him change then, Buckley?” Eddie cocked his head again, one of his hands coming up to twirl a strand of hair around his pointer finger. His brows were furrowed taut, creating a worry line in between them. “The kids told me about the Russians-”
“It was sort of before then,” Robin admitted with a small shrug, and she twisted the corner of her lip into a shy smile. “He raved to me, y’know? About uh, these kids. These five kids he’d babysit and shit, and it was so… soft?” Robin watched as Eddie mouthed out names to himself as he ticked his fingers, before he cast a look to her. “But he always talked about this one, Ellie, who he’d call his little sister.”
Eddie drew in a sharp breath, eyes wide as Robin let out a soft hum.
“Yeah, and I don’t know if you submitted yourself to Harrington family lore-” Robin gestured behind her toward the Harrington house with a flick of her hand, before she continued. “But I knew that Dick and Helen Harrington didn’t have more than one kid.”
“Supergirl?” Eddie asked softly, and Robin let out a soft confirming hum as she watched Eddie’s eyes dart toward Steve. Steve was still talking to Jonathan, though Argyle had shifted forward so he was able to join in the conversation.
“And then imagine my surprise when one day our stupid sailor ice cream shop is visited by none other than the Chief.” Robin shook her head with a small laugh, before she continued on. “And he was so excited to see Steve, Eddie. Like genuinely excited to see him, ordered a couple tubs of ice cream togo and then said he’d see him at home.”
“Fuck.” Eddie breathed out, and Robin let out another sigh of a laugh.
“And I asked Steve why the Chief of the Hawkins police force was visiting him at work, and Steve just…” Robin shrugged slowly, shaking her head to clear her thoughts before she continued. “He just gave me this look, like… like he didn’t actually know either.”
“Then later, he told me why he watched all of the kids. He told me that he would’ve given anything for someone to just… to just care about him when he was their age. That all he wanted was for just a person to give a shit about his wellbeing.” Robin shook her head again, before she carded a hand through her still chlorine sticky hair. “And after that my opinion just… it just changed about him.”
“Then the Russians?” Eddie asked softly, and Robin hummed as she dipped her chin in a curt nod.
“Then the Russians, and he didn’t… he didn’t even hesitate to take the attention onto himself when they started questioning us.” Robin shook her head again, sniffling. “And after I asked him why he would do that, and he told me it was because he knew I had a family waiting on me to come back home.”
“Fuck.”
“Yeah, and then afterwards when we were getting seen by the EMTs? He didn’t have anyone to call Eddie. Because Hopper? Hopper was just… just presumed dead.” Robin let out a soft bitter laugh, and she twisted a strand of her hair around her finger. “My parents decided to take us both home after, and he stayed with us for a couple of days- until his concussion was okay enough for him to sleep through the night.”
“And that’s when you became best friends?”
“That’s when I decided that, Steve? He deserved way more from people than he seemed to ever fucking get.” Robin shrugged, before she cast a soft smile toward Eddie. Eddie’s eyes were glassy, wet with tears and Robin just patted her hand soft against his forearm. “That’s when I decided that he was my best friend.”
“Platonic with a capital P?”
Robin cast a look toward Steve, where the older teen already had his eyes on her. He had a hand extended, fingers wiggling toward her in a small way to beckon her toward his side. Robin stood without responding to Eddie, and she left her towel on the lounge chair she’d commandeered as her own. She took a moment though, cast a softer look toward Eddie- even as the corner of her lip twitched into a nervous smile.
“He’s not exactly my type, y’know?” Robin kept her admission soft, even when Eddie’s eyes were quick to flood with confusion. She instead cast a look toward the sunbathing Nancy Wheeler, who had one of her arms strewn over her face across the backyard where she laid in the grass.
When Robin let her eyes move to meet Eddie’s again, he has a look of pure understanding on his face.
“I think I get what you mean.” Eddie murmured and Robin simply flashed Eddie Munson a shy smile.
Eddie Munson watched as Robin Buckley walked away from him, quick to tuck herself into Steve’s side once she reached him. Steve threw his arm around Robin’s shoulders, tucking her further into his grasp- though the flow of conversation that he was having with Argyle and Jonathan didn’t even pause.
It’s in that moment when Eddie Munson realizes something extraordinarily fucking crucial.
He’s in love with Steve fucking Harrington.

So I just finished watching Supergirl for the first time, after years of it being vaguely on my radar via tumblr gifs.
I need to preface this by saying that I went into it determined not to get invested in Lena and Kara in any way. I knew they were not canon and assumed that supercorp was a ship built on the odd long look and friend thing that could be interpreted as gay if you want to make it so (which to be clear I am totally on board with - I mean why WOULDN'T you make it gay if you could?? But this time I was not going to get sucked in. Oh no, not me. This was strictly casual background noise viewing with no emotional investment whatsoever).
I am not that into superhero shows generally so I thought this would be easy.
Then I actually watched it and OH MY GOD.
That is supposed to be a platonic friendship?
THAT?
ARE THEY FREAKING KIDDING???
Now I’m over here writing supercorp fanfiction and I am MAD ABOUT IT.
(and also not because actually I have missed being invested enough in a ship to fic about it. But still)

a new kind of romance, finale
part 8 | new years
🥟 | dumplings
Kara was not having a good time.
Sure, she loved her job. Yes, she adored her staff. Absolutely, she found her role as editor-in-chief worthwhile and world-saving in its own way.
But today was a holiday and her staff was absent and her role as editor-in-chief was only kind of worthwhile given they’d gone to print three days earlier.
Today was a day meant to be surrounded by friends, new beginnings, and maybe the slightest tinge of a hangover nursed by a staggering stack of Danvers world-famous pancakes.
It was a day to slip into cozy sweats; an evening unburdened by Supergirl duties or an upcoming deadline; a series of uninterrupted hours where she could collapse onto her couch, bask in the blue glow of her television after consuming far too much post-brunch take-out, and, if she played her cards right, idly massaging the too-tight calves of her very best friend who was stretched out across her lap.
The tips of her fingers crawled between her glasses and face and pressed with a heavy sigh against her eyes because today was not one of those days. Kara wondered if she’d ever have one of those days again.
Not the blue glow or take-out or cozy sweats: those were always within reach. It was the best friend she wasn’t quite sure about.
Because things were kind of different now. Things were weird and awkward, and Kara didn’t know if it was her or them. Either way, she was one supersuit short of feeling brave enough to do anything about it.
So she was at work. On a holiday.
“You know,” came a voice that nearly sent Kara flying into the next floor, “when Alex told me you were skipping New Year's brunch, I almost didn't believe her.”
“Lena,” Kara choked. She looked up and locked eyes with a very soft, very pretty, very smirking Lena Luthor and felt a rush of weird and awkward all over again. “I didn't, uh, hi.”
“Must be important work,” Lena replied, nodding toward the glasses propped on Kara's nose. They'd been a gift earlier that summer: improved and Lena-Luthor-approved to cut out even more noise and distraction than her last pair.
“Just… just wanted to focus,” Kara replied.
“On next month’s issue?”
“Never too early to get ahead,” Kara offered lamely.
“Well, is it too early for lunch?” Lena asked, lifting a plastic bag overflowing with take-out containers.
“I thought that was my job,” Kara said, eyeing the strained bag and feeling her stomach betray her with an oversized growl.
“Sometimes even heroes need saving,” Lena chuckled, setting the bag onto Kara’s overflowing desk. “And I’m very good at giving.”
The tease, the flick of an eyebrow, and the confident smirk would have normally sent Kara’s cheeks on fire and stumbling for words and trying very hard to keep strictly platonic, best-friend thoughts at the forefront of her mind, but today was not one of those days.
“Mhm,” Kara said with a labored smile and a strained chuckle and a fiddle with her glasses.
Because today was awkward and weird-feeling just like every day since cuddles didn’t feel like something just best friends did.
Lena, ever astute and thoughtful and considerate, noticed the wave of discomfort radiating from Kara, and for that Kara winced even more.
“Are… are we ok?” Lena asked, fingers playing with the edge of her sleeves. It was the exact opposite of the teasing confidence spoken moments earlier; this came out shy and hesitant.
“Sure,” Kara replied automatically in a way that sounded forced, sounded fake, sounded like a lie. Because it was. It was, and Lena knew it.
“Ok,” she nodded back, and that made it feel worse. Because Kara knew that Lena knew. “Well, I just wanted to drop this off-”
“Stay,” Kara rushed. “Uhm, please? Please stay?”
What followed wasn’t the most awkward lunch Kara had ever had, but it sure was close. Conversation lagged and Kara, lost in the labyrinth of thoughts and doubts and concerns that had played on repeat for no less than two weeks rattled around louder and louder and -
Kara blinked, realizing she’d missed whatever Lena just said. And Lena noticed but, with generous tact, looked down and quietly poked at her food and gosh this was going terribly.
“I’m sorry,” Kara said unprompted. “I’ve been distracted and… and it’s not fair to you. You skipped brunch and brought all of this delicious food and I’ve been terrible company and a bad f-friend,” she said, her throat choking around the last word.
And then a smile flashed across her best friend’s face. It was tiny and wistful. “You could never be, darling.”
And it made Kara’s stomach flutter and twist. It made it flutter and twist, and Kara clung to the tiny thread for dear life and jumped.
“Do you, uh… do you want one?”
“You’re offering me a potsticker?” Lena asked, the faintest tone of disbelief at the chopsticks floating in front of her with a perfectly pan-fried dumpling pinched between them.
Kara nodded, her outstretched, chopstick-holding hand shaking in a very unhero-like way.
And she only barely managed to snatch it, her chopsticks, and the floating potsticker back in time when Lena’s hand rose to meet the literal best pillow of food on the entire planet.
“You can’t use your hands,” Kara said - yelled - and then silently begged the earth to split open and swallow her whole.
“I… I can’t?” Lena asked, hand flinching back in surprise.
“We… there uhm, there aren’t any napkins,” Kara explained like a lying four-year-old.
Because there absolutely were napkins.
In plain sight.
Directly next to Kara’s half-eaten egg roll.
Before Lena could challenge the blatantly bizarre lie with her confused scowl and keen, impossibly brilliant, and scientifically perfect observation skills, Kara blindly rambled ahead while her elbow did the inelegant task of plopping across the desk onto the stack of said napkins.
“And these are, uh, greasy? Greasy,” Kara continued, sliding her elbow with the subtlety of a firework to the edge of her desk and, just as subtly, knocking the napkins to the floor.
“Greasy,” Lena parroted, eyes distracted by Kara’s elbow’s antics.
“I-in a good way,” Kara clarified. The moment was only briefly interrupted by the squeak of her chair rolling to the left.
To cover the stack of napkins.
The napkins which were definitely there.
“I wouldn’t offer one if they were bad, but since we don’t have napkins then,” Kara explained, “then you’d need to- to…uhm.”
“To what?” Lena pressed.
“To… wipe them on your shirt?” Kara finished feeling mortified and like the most incapable alien on the planet.
Which was why, when Lena’s head tilted to the side and her gaze fell to where the napkins were most definitely scattered around on the ground then darted back to Kara’s and sparkled in that special way, Kara felt her heart swell and her stomach flutter just a little bit more.
“Well,” Lena began, leaning forward with the focus of a predator, “we can’t have that.”
And Kara, the weakest, most inept prey in a five hundred-mile radius swallowed against the parchment that had become her throat, shook her head weakly, and kept the freefall going.
And it might have been something.
Could have been something.
Was nearly something.
Lena was hovering forward.
Lips parted.
Eyes locked on Kara’s.
Which was exactly when Kara’s big giant nerves took over and sent her chopsticks splintering and the potsticker slipping out of her grasp with all the grace of Flubber before zipping across the office to land with an unceremonious splat against the glass partition.
All of which turned that ‘near something’ into one giant ‘swing and miss'.
But before Kara could articulate her feelings as ‘mortified’ and ‘crestfallen’ and ‘like a giant himbo’, Lena burst out into the kind of bright laughter that made her dimples show and smile beam and Kara wonder if how they were was enough.
Because this could be fine.
They could be fine.
So distracted was Kara that she didn’t notice Lena swipe the last, un-splatted potsticker from Kara’s plate, and she definitely didn’t process when Lena, ever so casually, asked Kara for a napkin to wipe her fingers off, and she was lightyears from self-awareness when she automatically snatched one from the floor.
That’s how lunch continued and ended: with Lena smiling her special smile and Kara lost in a sort of daze, inhaling the spread of options Lena brought.
“I’ll let you get back to it,” Lena said when the final remnants of lo mein were polished off. “Can’t have Cat Grant accusing me of derailing her Editor-in-Chief.”
“Oh, ok,” Kara said, rising to join Lena and crashing back to earth while simultaneously knocking her knee against the desk and sending a stack of proofs sliding like Niagra Falls to the floor.
“No, no, I’ve got this,” Kara said, waving Lena away. She clambered around the desk and intercepted her with a bashful grin and outstretched arms. They wrapped comfortably around Lena like they always did, and it made her feel all tiny sorts of warm and happy.
This could be fine.
“Thanks for lunch,” she muttered into the side of Lena’s head.
“What are friends for?” Lena said, hands falling to Kara’s upper arms and disarming Kara with a practiced smile.
Kara nodded, her own smile feeling tight and confused.
It faltered only slightly when the door clicked shut and she crouched to pick up the disheveled proofs.
This could be fine.
Kara could be totally normal and cool and collected, and Lena could be her usual pretty and perfect and kind and thoughtful self. And everything could be great and par for the course and completely and totally…
Normal.
Kara rolled back onto her heels and pondered that thought: normal. She pondered and pondered some more. A whole minute passed while the idea braised in her brain, and it kind of didn’t sit right.
It didn’t sit right one bit.
And then the most obvious thing on the whole giant existence of everything occurred - no, re-occurred: Kara didn’t want normal. She definitely didn’t want to go back to normal. She wanted the opposite of normal. In fact, she didn’t want normal for another second of her whole entire life.
Unless that not-normal was Lena hating her guts for the rest of eternity. That was not a not-normal Kara had the stomach for, but before she could let that worry petrify her from action, she jumped to her feet and clambered toward the stairwell.
It took only a second; a perfectly timed second that synchronized with the elevator doors opening and Kara’s very best friend appearing in the ground floor lobby.
“Kara,” Lena said, jumping at what was probably a borderline crazed expression on Kara’s face when two muscular arms spread across the elevator’s threshold, blocking Lena’s exit. “Wha-”
“Mistletoe magic,” Kara stammered inelegantly.
“Mistletoe-?” Lena began, her surprise turning to a flash of hurt.
“With you,” Kara clarified. “I wanted… I wanted mistletoe magic with you.”
“With… me?” Lena asked slowly, cautiously - nervously.
“I wanted… I wanted you - want you. I didn’t mean to, you know,” Kara clarified poorly, “but then I got so nervous. And then Andrea was there and, and I just… I thought you didn’t want it. And maybe you don’t which is - that’s fine, but I can’t stop thinking that maybe you do? Because I do. I really do and, and when you… with the frosting? And the dress? You were just so, so… Rao. And you’re so so brilliant and kind and my best friend-”
“Me too.”
“- and I don’t want to ruin any… any…thing,” Kara trailed off, the tiny echo of Lena’s confession rattling in her ears. “What?”
Then something even louder started rattling in Kara’s ears because her rambling had gone on long enough to trigger the lift’s alarm.
Then came a tug against Kara’s shirt.
Then Kara felt herself being pulled into the lift.
Then she felt the warmth breath against her cheek.
“I wanted mistletoe magic with you, too.”
“R-really?” Kara asked, her eyes darting down to Lena’s perfectly painted lips.
“Really.”
“Like…” Kara continued, glancing back up to double check Lena’s eyes were serious. “Like real-”
They were. They were dead serious. And Kara registered it only a millisecond before Lena’s lips cut off what was definitely going to be another babble-fest. Lena’s lips cut her off and all of her thoughts and words disappeared and instead every sense was engulfed by soft, warm, gentle and - oh wowsers.
“Like really, really,” Lena whispered before the elevator lurched upward and before Kara could register the sparks of gold magic and green leaves flickering above them and before recapturing Kara’s mouth and setting fire to Kara’s core.
// sixty-three floors later //
“So, you liked the dress?” Lena asked.

Summary: Just two friends casually sleeping together far too regularly on a worn-out couch. What could go wrong?
A/n: She’s not perfect, but it’s been a month and I desperately needed to get something out there! Promise to be more on my writing game. Also a big thank you to my wife @hotchscvm for being my beta reader and hyping me up <3
The first time was an accident. After too many potstickers (on Kara's part) and too many pages read from her spell book (on Lena's part), they'd ended up on the couch, dozing side by side. In retrospect, it was late, and while staying up to spend more time with each other sounded like a good idea, it probably would have been a better idea to host the impromptu feast at one of their apartments. But that is neither here nor there because the fact still remained: they'd always feel so at home with each other that falling asleep on concrete would probably come as easy as it would a plump mattress.
Sometime in the night, Lena had managed to topple over on her side, taking her best friend down with her, and either Kara was too exhausted to care or too sleepy to notice because the half-arsed excuse of a cuddle was taken in kind with one muscled arm slipping around a curved waist. Kara had never shied away from intimacy, especially with Lena, but as she groggily slung her arm around her best friend, happily snuggling into her fragrant neck, the beginnings of something very not platonic began tampering away in her chest. It all felt daunting, yet wonderfully and irrefutably natural.
Everything was all well and good for a while. They both slept better than they had in weeks. That was until a few hours later, when the sun had just started to peak over neighbouring spires, and the pair rose from their sleep to discover the true meaning of back pain. Of course, neither pointed out that if they had gone home rather than finished the duration of their uncomfortable slumber in each other's embrace, the agony would have been much more manageable. Still, once again, this was never mentioned. Instead, Lena took to teasing Kara about the drool drying at the corner of her mouth, and Kara's rebuttal was to mention the bird's nest atop Lena's head.
The second time was a week later when Kara returned from a nightly patrol to find Lena snoozing alone. The brunette had taken advantage of the couch's full length; her legs bent to accommodate the sparse leg room, and she had a cushion wedged under her head that had definitely seen better days. Other than that, Kara was reasonably convinced Lena seemed comfortable. Kara did try not to stare, but after minutes spent wandering about and trying to find something to do, and there definitely was bound to be something if she was actually looking as hard as she had convinced herself she was, Kara relented and returned to Lena.
She watched as the brunette's chest rhythmically rose and fell, how her mouth was slightly parted to allow tiny sighs to tumble out, and couldn't help but smile as her chest warmed at the sight of the way Lena had her arm flung over her forehead, hand flying over the side of the couch. It was a sign, Kara recognised, that meant Lena was, for once, having a rested sleep rather than the usual - broken and fragmentary. That was why she told herself she didn't wake her or risk it by flying her home. There was nothing selfish about it. In fact, she was being selfless by relishing the notion she was probably one of the very few people who got to see Lena that way - open and bare, not always on guard or the look for any sign of danger. Of course, Kara saw glimpses of it when they were together, but it was rare. So, getting to truly see Lena when she was so unguarded was remarkable in Kara's eyes.
It felt right when she walked over and knelt beside the roughspun fabric of the couch to get a closer look, like there was some injustice to picking out the details of such a pretty picture from afar that had been corrected. Now, if it had been anyone else, Kara would have worried her behaviour was bordering on creepy. Still, it was Lena, her Lena, and simply listening to that strong, steady heartbeat warmed Kara's chest. It quieted all the clattering and commotion of National City. The conversations, the arguments, the music, the car engines, everything fell silent to Lena's familiar heartbeat, and Kara would be damned to ever apologise for finding calm in that, so she continued to watch. That, she could admit, was selfish.
As much as sleep may dull one's senses, Lena was becoming keenly aware she wasn't alone. Usually, her first instinct would be to fight, but when she blinked her eyes open and was met with the human version of a golden retriever, she couldn't help but smile sleepily.
"Hi," Kara whispered, placing both knuckles under her chin and continuing to stare with childlike wonder sparkling in her eyes.
"Hi," Lena replied weakly. Only she found she was not weak from sleep or the dull ache in her cramped legs. She was weak from the way Kara was staring. It made her feel naked and exposed like she was on trial for the crime of being known and still loved. She saw it in those blue eyes - pure adoration and devotion, and it terrified her how Kara could look at her like that when she'd seen her at her worst, when she'd hurt Kara in unforgivable ways and carried the same genes as people who damn near wanted her dead.
She was weak for losing herself in the blue whirls of her best friend's eyes, the golden flecks that circled her pupils - yet another thing that made her seem unreal. Her fingers twitched as she mentally traced the little scar by Kara's left eyebrow, wanting desperately to reach out and feel the mark of a distant memory from Krypton. Lena thought better of it, knowing the intimacy of the act would mean stepping into dangerous territory. Instead, she shuffled to the side, cramming herself against the back of the couch and extending a silent invitation, one Kara understood immediately, and if her joyous smile was anything to go by, she was more than happy to accept.
Kara lay flat on her back, staring up at the ceiling and trying not to think of how good it felt to have the warmth of Lena's body so close. After a few minutes in her log-like position, she cautiously raised an arm in question. The proximity between them was nil, so what was the damage in being a little closer? Her bravery was instantly rewarded with a weight falling on her chest and a slim finger tracing the raised fabric along her chest. And as many a time before, everything around her, except Lena, ceased to exist, and Kara found herself lulled by the steady thrum of a familiar heartbeat.
The third time, Kara told herself, it was completely and utterly necessary. Suppose she didn't comfort Lena when she felt like utter shit. It would quite literally be the end of the world. She was sure of it. Solely because of that, Kara hunted the brunette down, finding her in a dimly lit room, a set of fresh tears trickling slowly down her cheeks. A series of angry lines marked Lena's blanched cheeks rouge, the colour of heartbreaking remembrance. There was a distinct look in her eyes, resembling a wounded pup. Only Lena had never been helpless like one. She'd been alone the majority of her adult life, fighting. And she'd come out the other end stronger for it; that was undeniable, but what would always remain were the chronic wounds of her hardships.
Kara remained in the doorway, unsure her presence would be welcome. The more she saw, the heavier her chest felt. The details were the worst: the way Lena clasped her hands so tightly together, yet they still shook, the glossed-over sheen to her eyes, the way her jaw shook with each silent cry, and most of all, the raw hiccups that only Kara could pick up, wearing away at Lena's throat every time she tried to keep herself quiet.
Clearing her throat, Kara lightly padded over. The brunette's mind was so far away that by the time Kara was crouching down and delicately separating her woven hands, taking each within her own, she'd just about registered that she was no longer alone looking with puffy eyes. Kara tried to offer a sympathetic smile, but it was excruciatingly painful when the woman she adored radiated so much pain she felt within herself, too. She was helplessly searching her mind for something to say, anything that could encompass what Lena was feeling or take it all away, but she knew nothing in her vocabulary could.
Kara got to her feet, taking Lena with her. There was no complaint. Lena simply complied, no energy left in her to fight, no reason to fight someone wholly trusted. She let herself be taken from one room and led into another, her mind turned off and tuned only to how soft the hand guiding her forward felt - how it was already calming her racing pulse.
"Do you want to talk about it?" Kara asked, sitting down on the far side of the couch, encouraging Lena to join her by keeping their hands clasped. Lena followed willingly, though she kept quiet, staring at the margin between the couch cushions, each frayed piece of string taking her interest individually.
Kara gave Lena a once over, this time honing into every detail as quickly as possible so Lena didn't feel uncomfortable. She noticed a handful of things: the shine to Lena's hair was no longer there, and her perfume was only vaguely present, but what Kara saw first was the darkened ring under Lena's swollen eyes, and that's when she gathered what had been happening.
"It's the nightmares again, isn't it?" Kara quietly asked, squeezing Lena's hand once, twice, and holding tight to show this was in no way an invasion of privacy but a rope for the brunette to take so Kara could help pull her out of the pit she'd fallen into. A tiny whimper confirmed her guess, and that's when Kara took action. She ignored Lena's creased brow when she untangled their hands, scootched closer, looped her arms around Lena's waist and hauled her onto her lap. It was a risky move, given that this was most definitely not the most platonic position. However, any fear and regret instantly faded when she heard a sigh and felt Lena's head nestle into her neck. She held her tight and let Lena take whatever she needed from the embrace. Gently, Kara used one hand to brush through chestnut hair, keeping one hand around a slim waist. Emboldened by Lena's willingness, Kara lowered her head, turned it to the side, and kissed her barely visible cheek.
"Can we stay here tonight?" Lena finally whispered, and Kara's whole body responded in kind, buzzing in anticipation.
"Of course," she replied into the silky softness of Lena's hair. She breathed in, knowing before the exact scents that would coax their way through her airways, only to erupt into a swarming storm in her stomach - herbal shampoo complemented by nodes of bittersweet honey tea, the kind you'd drink when trees began to lose their leaves and your body hadn't yet adjusted to the drop in temperature. "Whatever you need, Lee, I'll do it."
"You, Kara Zor-el, are my hero, not Supergirl, you," Lena pulled back to confess, her worn-out eyes glinting in low light as she stared intently, watching Kara's eyes gaze right back. They stayed staring for seconds, a minute; neither knew. They simply accepted that it didn't feel wrong, it didn't feel awkward, it felt safe and warm, like coming back home after a trainwreck of a day or seeing the sun finally peak from behind the rainclouds.
Finally, Lena ducked back down and allowed herself to let go, wetting Kara's neck with a fresh set of tears.
After that, it became a weekly occurrence, then bi-weekly, tri-weekly and well, then they didn't bother trying to count how many times a week they found excuses to fall asleep in each other's arms. The couch grew new additions that no one mentioned but thoroughly enjoyed: a luxuriously soft blanket folded neatly over the side, a kitschy cushion from Kara's apartment and new upholstery. Neither spoke of their shared nights, not even with each other. It became taboo, a dirty secret between two willing participants. They both knew that, for one reason or another, they were crossing boundaries, leading them into dangerous territory. However, not acknowledging it seemed enough to fend off the intrusive thoughts.
After a particularly long day at the tower, Kara and Lena found themselves in the same place they had always wound up in when everyone had left. Their limbs entangled, and their bodies so close Lena was essentially lying atop Kara, with her head comfortably nestled on the blonde's chest. Usually, the pair would find sleep quickly enough, but something was different that night. Sleep didn't come so easy, with the day's events weighing heavy.
"What are you thinking about," Kara asked, breaking the comfortable quietude.
Lena didn't have to think twice before answering, "How I never want to lose you."
There were a few bouts of silence. Kara let Lena's words sink in before speaking again, "What do you mean?"
"Every day, you go out and protect the people of this world, even if it means risking your own life." Lena mindlessly played with the collar of Kara's sweater, trying to casualise the severity of what she was saying. Kara could sense the tension brewing in Lena and began to draw soothing circles up and down her back.
"It's who I am, Lee. My powers mean I can help people; it's my duty to do so," Kara sighed, pressing her lips to Lena's head.
"I know. But I just worry I won't see you fly back through the tower doors, that I won't be able to do enough to help you, and I'll lose the only person that's ever seemed to," she paused, the l word anxiously sitting on her tongue. "That I'll lose the one person who has always stood by me. It's selfish, I know."
A tidal wave of emotions washed over Kara. She stayed motionless for at least a minute, processing all Lena had said, and failed to say.
"Lena, look at me," she ordered.
They were both helplessly reminding themselves that this is what friends do: they're allowed to cuddle, they're allowed to fall asleep together, and they're allowed to feel like they complete each other in a way no one else probably could. The pure definition of slumber parties is deep conversations where confessions are made, so of course, this is all normal and strictly platonic and nothing more. Except when their eyes met, the look they shot at one another was anything but friendly. It was desperate and demanding, taking all the oxygen out of the room and leaving them breathless. Kara could hear Lena's heartbeat, frantic, from anticipation, excitement, or fear, she didn't know.
"I will never leave you. I'm not going anywhere."
"You can't promise me that."
Kara cupped Lena's cheeks in her palms, gently holding her still, "You're right, I can't, but I can promise that I will always fight to come back home to the people I love– to come back to you." Her eyes flickered between Lena's eyes and lips. "I love you, Lena."
"You don't have to say that," Lena choked out.
"I meant it," she stated in a hushed voice, eyes firmly planted on soft lips. "Lena, come here."
"Kara," Lena pleaded in a weak whisper, battling the fuzzy feeling that was stirring beneath her fingertips. Lena could scarcely breathe, her throat constricting with each passing second because Kara was looking at her the same way she always did, and she was so very weak to stop herself from looking back and letting the air be stolen from her lungs. Kara pulled her closer until their lips were a hair's width away, and then she chose to wait. Her intentions were clear, but she knew it had to be Lena who would make the final move. And she did. Lena closed the minimal space between their lips, ignoring the rapid pace of her thudding heart. As expected, Kara's lips were perfect, acceptant to let Lena take the lead and demanding nothing in return.
Soon enough, both got lost in the delicacy of a slow makeup session. Kara made a great effort to reign in her zeal, only encouraging Lena with a slide of her hands down to a supple waist and aiding the brunette atop her when she heard no protest. The two found themselves upright, Lena's knees cocooning Kara's hips, their core pressed against one another enough to raise their body temperatures. With the slide of the super's tongue along a plump lip and the compliant opening of the brunette's mouth, their slow and tempered kiss tilted more towards eager and desperate. Kara had scarcely noticed her hands sliding down to grip Lena's ass. She wholly gave herself to instinct and desire, guiding Lena back and forth in a grinding motion.
"Kara," Lena moaned, throwing her head back and struggling to hold herself still when Kara instantly went to suckle at her neck. "Not here. Take me home."
The blonde didn't need to be told twice; she hauled herself up, taking Lena with her, and allowed the other woman's feet to briefly touch the ground before she picked her up bridal style and shot out the balcony doors. The city was bursting with life. Laughter echoed off every surface and bounced up into the night sky. The noise sought to pollute Kara's senses, yet the blonde didn't even have to try to fight off the background noise because all she was focused on was Lena's smile, and her residing bouts of childlike laughter. It was perfection - holding Lena close, feeling her body heat against the crisp evening wind.
All the withheld desire flooded their senses the moment they landed on Lena's balcony. Kara burst into the apartment, brain muddled with the ghostly feel of velvety lips all over her throat. She used her super speed to whisk them to the bedroom, gently placing Lena down and climbing atop her.
"Hi," Lena whispered, searching Kara's eyes for regret or hesitation.
"Hi." The super leaned down and pressed a small kiss to Lena's lips before pushing herself back up to hover and smile, ridding her best friend of any doubt.
"Can I?" Lena asked, her hands under Kara's sweater, bunching the material between her palms.
"Yes." But Kara didn't appear to have the patience for Lena's gentle touch as she yanked the offending garment over her head and ducked right back down to Lena's neck, lowering her lips to the birthmark that always looked so darn kissable and did just that.
They set their tasks to removing articles of clothing, revealing more and more of themselves to each other, taking turns to stare awestruck before returning to the matter at hand. Kara took her sweet time unclasping Lena's bra if only to charge to the impending reveal she'd been waiting years for.
"Beautiful," Kara whispered, eyes fixed on Lena. "You're perfect."
She didn't let the brunette get a word in, not that Lena stood a chance when lips had already surrounded her pert nipple and a tongue darted out to move in tight circles. Kara was ravenous. She moved from breast to breast at lightning speed, giving each the full treatment until Lena was mewling and cantering her hips. It was when she felt the slickness of need touch her stomach that Kara ventured south. With each methodical kiss, Kara shuffled lower and lower, finally arriving and comfortably settling herself between creamy thighs.
Contrary to Kara's expectations, Lena was not fighting to be in charge. She allowed Kara to play around and find what got the most promising reactions. However, it seemed to be less trial and error and more constantly hitting the nail on the head because after what must have only been half a minute, Lena was practically writhing, and Kara was all but lost in the rich, sharp tastes coating her tongue. She'd found her pace and her pattern, starting with slow, pointed licks to Lena's clit, occasionally running the stiff muscle down to drive into her sopping cunt before moving back up and taking the bundle of nerves into her mouth and lathering it with the flat of her tongue. Kara kept this up, falling in love with all the ways Lena would respond: her low-pitched moans, her bucking hips, the way her thighs would clamp around Kara’s head when she used the heel of her foot to urge the blonde closer. It was heaven, and Kara never wanted it to end.
She was vaguely aware Lena was reaching her peak, the hand in her hair tightening, fingers coiling locks of hair in a firm grip. It spurred her on. Kara only moved faster, messily lapping up every inch of Lena's pussy until the brunette sprung up from the bed and let out a cry. Kara was greedy, though; she slowed down, gently lapping up the mess left behind, only to devour Lena all over again. From the moment Kara heard the sounds Lena unleashed when she entered her with two fingers, she was a goner. All she knew was Lena's sweaty body, her accelerated heartbeat, the clamping around her fingers and the harmonious cries of pleasure. She kept going and going. Harder. Faster.
"Kara," Lena whimpered, her breathing heavily laboured and her heart pounding. She used her grip on Kara's hair to pry her away. "You've got to stop."
"Are you okay?" Kara reeled back to ask. She scanned Lena once over, fear evident in her eyes. "Did I hurt you?"
"No! No, of course not. You just made me cum four times in a row, darling. I think I may pass out if you keep going." Lena seemed dazed but happily so as she stared down lovingly at Kara. She used her remaining strength to guide the blonde back up and capture her lips in an appreciative kiss, moaning at the taste of herself on her best friend's tongue.
Lena bided her time. She waited to regain a steady heartbeat before she refocused her attention on the pressing matter that was the slick mess gathering on her thigh. Kara had - clearly - already begun working herself up. Whether or not the needy grinding was intentional, Lena didn't know, but she knew she wanted to be the one to give Kara her release, not have the blonde get off on her thigh. She guided Kara back and forth till she deemed her sufficiently distracted, and only then did she turn the tables, flipping the super on her back with surprising strength.
"My turn," Lena devilishly smirked.
She effortlessly slid three fingers into Kara and began thrusting in and out with reckless abandon. The blonde had no chance. Her head crashed back into soft pillows, her body burst to life, and her skin birthed a litany of pebbly goosebumps. It was like nothing she'd experienced before. Unlike previous times, this felt like it was finally for her. Kara didn't have to fake the appreciative sounds coming from her mouth. She didn't have to direct Lena on what to do. She was free to lie back and take all that was given. And Lena was more than happy to provide.
The brunette had her lips glued to Kara's neck, adamant about marking her impenetrable skin, and though she may have been failing miserably, there was no mistaking Kara's moans for anything but satisfaction. So she kept going. With her mission still in sight, Lena eased herself down on her elbow, alleviating some of the pressure from her hand and placed her thumb over Kara's clit. The position was awkward, but Lena did her best to trace figures of eight over and around Kara's sensitive bud - knowing she immensely enjoyed the action herself - and was rewarded instantly when she felt Kara's body tense up and shake.
"Lena," Kara moaned. Her hands were wound in the bedsheets, knuckles blanched from the force of her grip. She sounded so desperate, so fragile, that Lena had to bite her tongue to stop herself from moaning.
"I know," Lena replied, rising back on her palm to gaze at Kara's sheer beauty in this delirious state. She delicately brushed stray hairs off Kara's face, staring deep into her eyes, and ever so slightly smiled. "Let go, baby."
~~~
"You're staring," Lena sighed, turning over and using her palms to rub sleep from her eyes. She’d expected some sort of embarrassment to tint Kara's face. Instead, she was met with a cheeky smile and a raised eyebrow.
"I know," Kara said in a sure voice, her gaze unmoving, and suddenly, Lena felt like she was on fire all over again. The vivid events of the previous evening, still very fresh in her mind, were of no help.
"Oh." Her cheeks were burning, and there was no doubt with her pale skin Kara could see. So Lena did what she could; she hid her face in Kara's side. "If you maybe wanted to stop, I wouldn't be opposed."
She vaguely heard Kara's laugh, but she'd become one with the small between the blonde's side and her forearm that everything was muffled. That was rectified when she was swiftly slumped onto her back, and whisps of golden hair tickled her cheeks from above.
"I don't want to stop," Kara whispered. Innocence slowly vanished from the back-and-forth gaze, replaced with dark curiosity and dangerous intent. Soon, Lena found herself incapable of not glancing at Kara's pillowy lips that seemed to be inching closer. "Roa, I never want to stop staring at you."
