A new villager walked by the trailer with a terrier trotting by her side. Alex, mid-tree pose in the garden, called out a good morning.

The villager turned and Alex's poise faltered; she threw her raised foot to the ground and attempted to pull herself together. She saw faeries all the time in Riverblossom Hills, like her ex-husband's sister-in-law, the original "green goddess". Seasons passed and vine-covered forest fae walking among them became commonplace; this faerie, however, had a minty glow. Even eerier, eyes like appleseeds.

"Good morning! My name is Penny. This is Pinky. What's your name?"

Receiving those short but sweet words and introducing herself in turn, Alex wondered if Penny was making extra effort to tick the meet-and-greet boxes. Most neighbours would wave and be on their way (unless the neighbour was Betty, looking for a fight), but she seemed happy to stop and chat. Maybe she wasn't just walking her dog for the sake of it.

Her dog.

"Hey, if you've got the time, you should meet my roommate!"

Penny beamed and gladly accepted. Alex would pat herself on the back later, proud and pleased with her impulsive invitation. Even though Cyd was in his dressing gown to begin with, he made time to share his love for dogs with their guest.

The visit ticked over into the afternoon and Cyd had dressed and put on his best hat, so Alex decided to leave them to it, and met Catherine Viejo outside. Yes, Cyd had been seeing her, but it didn't seem exclusive. Besides, he and Penny looked like they were getting along. Even the dogs were calmly touching noses.

Smooth sailing, Alex thought.

So in the RWBY fandom they do their ship names by using words or phrases associated with both characters and using that as the ship name instead of just fusing names together, E.G Checkmate (Weiss X Blake) or Lucky Charms (Qrow X Clover) (I hope that's the right ones I've never seen the show)

I think the mlp fandom should also adopt this naming format because while some name fusion ship names work and sound good E. G Lyrabon or Moonlight (Moondancer x Twilight) others sound kinda bad and don't roll of the tounge, like PinkieDash or especially DitzyTop/DerpyTop and any combo of Tavi and Vinyls Names. So yeah, let's do it with words and phrases instead. Some Examples:

“Ruby is too nice to get mad” FUCKING EXCUSE ME????

There have been plenty of nice characters that go off their shit! Pinkie Pie (MLP), Bubbles (PPG), Matsuda (Death Note), the Iron Giant and various others could get FUCKING PISSED when pushed to the brink! It made their outburst THAT more impactful due to the contrast between their anger and how they usually act! EVEN SUPERMAN ISN’T EXEMPT FROM THIS, ESPECIALLY IN THE INJUSTICE TIMELINE!

RWBY, let your female characters experience anger and frustration without demonizing them for it CHALLENGE FAILED.

the inability to let ruby be mad is so maddening because it just shows that the "one word" bullshit they had blake do about her friends shows that this is how they actually think these characters are. they're defined by one word, they're one dimensional puppets that need to adhere to that one word descriptor & can't deviate from it ever.

despite the fact that ruby has been mad before? she would get frustrated in the early volumes, she was furious at mercury & cinder in the v5 conflict, it's just that they don't want her to be mad at jaune. god forbid their precious author's pet is ever held accountable by the narrative or even made to acknowledge the fact that he killed ruby's first ever real friend. jaune killed someone & it's never acknowledged!

the vague realization is cut short by ruby fainting. weiss apparently informs them all off screen. nothing else happens & it's all just so frustrating.

VeronaHills, Round Six: Weiss

Humans had such fascinating rituals, Penny thought. Like 'homework' and the 'morning after pill'.

The former was something Woody needed to do to be considered a good student at school (and dad was right there to guide his problem solving). The latter was a suggestion from Penny's new friend, Sandy Beech. As in the name, she took it the morning after sleeping with another new friend, Rhett Hart - and it prevented surprise seedlings, so to speak. For now, adopting Pinky the terrier was Penny's preferred manner of extending their family.

Leaving the forest where dad had grown them and tended to them was an affronting adjustment at first. However, Penny and Woody came to realise the dirt beneath his feet was not helping him in his older years as it would a faerie; when he began to shiver despite being clad in copious leaves, the decision was made.

Initial exploration of the village at the foot of the hills revealed a cottage for sale and woolly socks for dad to wear - everything they needed. There were also people to meet, like Penny's friends; even wallflower Woody had his first kiss with Sandy's daughter Virginia.

Riverblossom Hills had everything they wanted.
