Peter Pan imagine/ Villain

You and Peter are deep in the woods having a conversation and things get heated …

“My fault , I forgot you were fragile.” Peter said with such an attitude

“Excuse me?!” You almost yelled

“I forgot someone who doesn’t even know me says I’m an asshole.” He folded his arms

“You’re referring to my sister?” You asked

He shook his head yes with such anger

“So funny how someone can be such judgmental but I’m the villain.” He says mad

“Peter you know Emma just wants what’s best for me , and she just wants me to stay in storybrook with her and the others.” You say

“You know you think she’d forget I’m the better choice for you.” He says

“Oh yeah?” You smile “How so?” You say

“You’re happier with me, I spread positivity. “ he leans on a tree

You giggle

“Peter I’m sure it has nothing to do with you.” You say reassuring him

“Oh I know it’s not , it’s self hatred.” He says

“What do you mean?” You ask

“”Y/n your sister hates me, and hatred comes from people who hate their own existence.” He says

“That’s not true.” You say with a little offensive tone

“Maybe in better off alone if you agree with her.” He says

“That’s not what I meant I’m just saying you should give her a break.” You walk towards him

Peter walks to you , lifting up your chin, looks into your eyes and smiles in such a wicked way

“It’s fine Y/n I’ll be the villain, because hero’s, let me tell you something about hero’s. A hero will sacrifice you for the great or good, but since I am a villain, I have no heart, therefore… I will burn this world for you.” He whispered in your ear.

He walks away leaving you speechless.

Something that stood out to me a lot from this album is the intentional de-personalization of extremely personal feelings and stories. She seems to have decided for this project that in order to be free to be completely honest in her art (which tbf she always has been but never as much as this album), she needs to visualize herself, and thus her stories, as a third party, an external entity on which she's conducting a post-mortem examination. Her 2016 self and the hate train she suffered after Snakegate is reimagined as Cassandra, a character from Greek mythology who had visions in her dreams but no one believed her and instead she was punished. Her anxiety of holding her lover's career back is instead described as The Albatross, this girl who everyone has been warned to stay away from bc she causes problems and is a liability. Her sweet, innocent childhood self is depicted as a robin, a feisty little bird full of life, dreams, and potential who has yet no clue of the cruelty of the world.

Consequently, the characters in her life are, too, bestowed upon fictional characters from stories that have been told before and/or are familiar in some way to the listener (aIMee the girl from this allegorical high school which is actually Kim Kardashian, Peter the boy who never grew up and stayed forever in Neverland who actually is her long-term ex partner, both her and her lover's separate romantic involvements imagined as Chloe or Sam or Sophia or Marcus, her real life therapist referred to as The Professor etc). By using the representation of well-known characters from widely popular stories and myths with names and all, she creates an even deeper line of emotional connection with the listener. Then, the 4th wall is delightfully broken in Clara Bow, where she refers to Clara Bow and Stevie Nicks as the inherent precedents to Taylor Swift. But what's even more brilliant about this is that in this way, she is making Taylor Swift into a character in and of itself. She is actually attempting to externalize Taylor Swift from Taylor the real-life woman. By narrating her stories through tangible entities presented as completely external to herself, she is inhibited by the safety of this fictional/allegorical lense through which she's allowing her stories to be consumed, and as a result, she has unlimited freedom to be more personal than she has ever been in her art before.

captain hook and peter pan's shadow

okay so hear me out. I had a weird dream a few months back about hook suddenly waking up on a ship and everyone else is dead. decaying. dismembered and disassembled. for some reason, the blood on the floors is still wet. an absolute nightmare of a time. the only other person in neverland who isn't a corpse is the shadow of peter pan, who, over time, has slowly come into form as a vaguely fashionable adult since there's nothing tying it to the body of a youth that refuses to grow up (since he was originally nothing but a shadow, he will remain forever shadowless tho)

('One day, Peter decided he didn't need a shadow, that it was more fun to sneak up on people without giving them a chance to notice, and I was left to do whatever I wanted. Eventually I started to care, to feel, and from there I became what I am now.')

it was. some kind of murder mystery, where it's very clearly peter who committed the murders, but hook and the shadow go about trying to figure out the events leading up to it. as one does!

#anyway if it was not clear. brom's peter had a huge visual influence on me as a teenager. and i also enjoyed american mcgee's alice #drawing tag #im obsessed with peter pan ngl i read academic texts and journals abt the narrative for fun #its just fun to read about. and also the original texts and stories are fun to read too
