Be grateful when certain things don't work out. Sometimes you don't even know what you're being protected from or where you're being guided when you're amidst the storm. That's why you have to trust that greater things are aligning for you and surrender gracefully. Because rejection is protection. Because everything is happening for you exactly as it's supposed to.

You're not broken.
You may have been through a bunch things that have changed you but that doesn't mean you're broken. You're experienced & have a different perspective of certain things. There's a difference. Broken no. Experienced, yes.
You're still you and you're still able to evolve past anything that may have impacted you.
You're whoever you want to be. You're not broken. Take your power back. You don't need to be "fixed".

Rather than focusing on whether something is “right” or “wrong”, ask this question:
How can I experience this in a way that is most expansive for me and for all?

It's the small changes over time for me. Giving myself permission to focus on self improvement and self love has been a huge perspective shift the past couple of years. Whether it's putting faith in myself to pursue career stuff, embracing a new love/life style, shedding kink shame, or just allowing myself to spend time and money on changing my body shape and feel more confident in my skin(without taking on guilt and shame for indulging in vanity or for not serving others first). I spent money on a workout app subscription and supplements that could have been spent on countless other things, but I made the choice to go ahead and do what I really wanted. I went out and applied for a new job today too. Imbolc blessings, planting seeds.

Reject the pitiful interpretation of academics. Disobey and rebel against the notion that academics are burnt out gifted children.
Fuck that. From now on, you are partaking in the identity of someone who values academic and formal education, what type they may be, whether or not private or public school, scholarship or tuition paid courses, formal or self-education,
The identity of an academic STEMS (pun intended) lies from the natural inclination towards learning everything about the world-- to the point of the consumption of yearning with love and curiosity expressed in controlled and managed softness while your heart tightens as it expands through more, chest tightening as it constantly carries a chest full of love and heavy breathign at the burden of your expansive love for academia, one of which you are excited to carry.
Being a burnt out gifted child is to admit your people pleasing tendencies, progressing you on a pathline that allows you to walk, trip, stumble, and get back up on your journey in self-love, as you discover your love for books and learning and yearning about the world and its hidden knowledge more- feeling the new skin you've just revealed and entered and embodied for yourself. One- not born in pleasing those who appraciated the existence of education as a means of their lack- but through they eyes of someone falling in love with it more the second time.
Genuinely.

In times of difficulty, it’s easy to feel like the world is against us. Challenges can seem insurmountable, and it’s natural to want to retreat and hide away. But what if, instead of seeing adversity as a roadblock, we viewed it as a detour to something greater? Shifting perspectives in adversity can be the key to unlocking new opportunities and finding strength we never knew we had.

The Gift of Second Chances
Collecting days of bad experiences that roughen us up whips our perspective in shape. It allows us to take the blindfold off that our naivete cinched around our mind’s eye. People could shake their heads at our follies as much as they want but they won’t get to see the tunnels of metamorphosis the way we did. It taught us a valuable lesson, something that we don’t learn inside the walls of the…

People love you. They want to be around you because they're inspired by your love and light. People notice your beauty and are attracted to it, inspired by it. People want to be your friend, want to be close to you, want you in their life. Even if no one has told you lately, trust that you're so loved. People love you.

Navigating Life's Detours: Finding Strength When Things Don't Go Your Way Shaina Tranquilino February 21, 2024
Tumblr media
Life is a journey filled with twists and turns, highs and lows, and unexpected detours. No matter how meticulously we plan, there are moments when things simply don't go our way. While facing setbacks and disappointments can be disheartening, it's crucial to recognize that these experiences are an inevitable part of the human experience. In this blog post, we'll explore the art of resilience and share strategies for finding strength when life takes an unexpected turn.
Embrace the Discomfort: The initial reaction to setbacks is often discomfort and frustration. It's essential to acknowledge these feelings rather than suppress them. Embracing the discomfort allows for a more authentic emotional response, laying the groundwork for processing and moving forward.
Reframe Your Perspective: When faced with challenges, it's easy to adopt a negative mindset. However, reframing your perspective can turn obstacles into opportunities. Instead of viewing a setback as a roadblock, consider it a detour that might lead to unexpected discoveries and personal growth.
Learn from the Experience: Every setback carries valuable lessons. Take the time to reflect on the situation and identify what you can learn from it. Whether it's acquiring new skills, understanding your limitations, or gaining insight into your priorities, the knowledge gained from setbacks can be instrumental in personal development.
Cultivate Resilience: Resilience is the ability to bounce back from adversity. Cultivating resilience involves building a strong support system, developing problem-solving skills, and nurturing a positive mindset. Recognize that setbacks are temporary, and your ability to navigate them with resilience can contribute to long-term success.
Adjust Your Goals: Sometimes, when things don't go as planned, it's an opportunity to reassess your goals. Are your aspirations realistic? Do they align with your current values and circumstances? Adjusting your goals can lead to a more meaningful and achievable path forward.
Seek Support: During challenging times, it's crucial to lean on your support network. Friends, family, or mentors can provide guidance, perspective, and emotional support. Sharing your experiences with others fosters a sense of connection and reminds you that you're not alone in facing setbacks.
Practice Self-Compassion: Be kind to yourself when things don't go your way. Avoid self-blame and negative self-talk. Practice self-compassion by treating yourself with the same understanding and empathy you would offer to a friend facing a similar situation.
Life's journey is filled with unpredictable moments, and setbacks are an inevitable part of the process. When things don't go your way, it's an opportunity for self-reflection, growth, and resilience. By embracing discomfort, reframing perspectives, learning from experiences, and seeking support, you can navigate detours with strength and emerge stronger on the other side. Remember, setbacks are not the end of the road; they are merely a bend in the path toward personal development and fulfillment.

One of the skills that I think is really important to cultivate is keeping an open mind. What does keeping an open mind mean? An open mind means that you entertain a variety of points of views, even ones you don’t agree with, not because you want to agree with them, but because by doing so you learn how to find the gold in those points of view that you don’t agree with.
It’s easy to live in an echo chamber, to only associate with people who share the same points of view as you and it can be tempting to do so, because at least those people agree with you and you don’t have to deal with a point of view you don’t agree with. I think it’s a mistake to only spend time with people you agree with. It causes you to have a narrow mind, even if you think you have an open mind.
