WIP Wednesday
Today I have a excerpt from my upcoming Ranger and the Deputy fic staring Ranger!Delgado and Kitty Lincoln.
I tag @fangbangerghoul, @eridanidreams, @silurisanguine, @bearlytolerant, @toxiclizardwrites (I think you shared today but tagging anyway!), @aro-pancake, @aislingdmdt, @a-cosmic-elf, @lisa-and-shadow, @thatsgoodsquishy0, and anyone else who might have something to share. No pressure, let's have fun:)
--
Delgado pulled her close and stole a kiss on her jaw as they approached the Coe Heritage Museum. Kitty giggled and turned, catching his cheek in her hand and kissed him back. Her lips were soft against his, a heat, intensity in the moment. He held her against him, his hand firmly at the small of her back, and dipped her as his lips trailed down her neck. He bit her neck and quickly kissed it to soothe the skin. She gasped and let out a breathy giggle. He wondered if they could make it to the bar.
He stood her back up and was met with a hungry kiss, her arms slung around his neck, her weight and momentum throwing them off balance. They stumbled back together into the side of the Enhance! Building, her fingers in his hair rubbing his scalp, his hands firmly gripping her hips.
“Hey, knock it off,” a firm voice from the path called over to them. As they reluctantly pulled away from each other a flashlight blinded Delgado, causing him to curse in Spanish and flip the bird at the guard. They were both panting, Kitty leaned forward to rest her forehead on his shoulder.
“Ranger?” the guard lowered his flashlight, “come on, you know better.”
“Don’t you have anything better to do with your time?” Del shot back, “maybe go take a long stroll over to Laredos and see if you can find the thief Annie mentioned a while back.”
“We both know that kid was seeing things,” the guard flipped the flashlight off and hooked it back onto their belt, “just…if you’re going to be doing that sort of thing, go home.”
Kitty was mumbling into his scarf, “oh gee thanks, officer. We never would have figured that one out if you hadn’t come along.”
Delgado gave a hearty laugh and kissed her head, “Vamos, Diego is waiting at Aggie’s.”
They hurried down the switchback stairs and down into the Stretch. The sounds of Aggie’s, blaring generic rock music, the crashing of glass bottles into a bin or onto the floor, the shouting and laughing, spilled out into the muddy path. As they approached three men spilled out the main doors, one tumbling back into a large puddle, another swinging for the third, missing, and losing his balance. Aggie herself appeared in the doorway, a bat in hand, “Git!”
“Still want to go?” Delgado asked, his arm draped over Kitty’s shoulder.
“At least one drink with Diego,” she bumped her hip into him.
He nodded and they approached the bar, Aggie still lingering in the doorway. She eyed the couple suspiciously and relaxed her shoulders, “Del, nice seeing you again.”
“I see you’re having a busy evening,” he glanced back at one of the three drunks she had just ejected, “not too much trouble, right?”
“Those three? Fucking idiots,” Aggie shook her head and spit into a nearby puddle, “mind the floors, Ethan’s still mopping up the mess.”
“Please tell me its beer,” Delgado wrinkled his nose.
“Thankfully,” Aggie took a step to the side to let them pass, “Diego grabbed the usual table and already ordered. Ethan will bring the drinks out when he’s done.”
“Thanks Aggie,” Del touched his forehead with his index finger and gave a small salute before leading Kitty inside. He leaned in and whispered into her ear, “hopefully that was the last of it.”
Diego waved them over to his table, Ethan next to him with a tray with shots of golden liquor, a salt shaker, and a small dish of lime slices. Delgado sighed at the sight and let loose a string of Spanish curses under his breath.
“Problem?” Kitty leaned in close to his ear to combat the loud music. Her breath felt good on his neck.
“Oh just Diego’s idea of getting drinks is all,” he responded, his lips now pressed against her ear.
“We’ll be fine,” she tickled at his side as they stepped up to the table. He jumped slightly with a laugh and shook his head.
“Took your time,” Diego looked between them. Del caught Diego staring at her neck and looked over to see his bite bright against her pale skin, “Get lost?”
“We took the scenic route, Del wanted to show me the sights,” Kitty leaned against the table, eyeing the shots on the tray.
“Oh I’m sure he did,” Diego smirked.
Delgado leaned over to Deigo and hissed through his teeth, “shut it.”
“Someone cultivates agave out here?” Kitty picked up one of the glasses and sniffed the contents, “New Homestead used to but someone in my dad’s generation messed up a soil change and killed the whole crop. No one could get it going again and they were told by MAST our crop was the last of it.”
“Probably for the UC,” Diego said before licking the side of his hand and shaking salt onto the wet skin, “but yeah, Del’s family owns like six massive greenhouses of the stuff out on Codos.”
“They do?” She looked at Del with big, bright eyes, “that’s amazing.” Delgado bobbed his head side to side, irritated with Diego’s rambling but not wanting to show it, “You ever had tequila?”
“Once. Anja got a bottle in the tavern and served it to celebrate a milestone a few years back. Everyone got a drink with a shot in it; I remember it was pretty sour,” she shook her head and sat the small glass on the table, “In New Homestead we brew vodka, rum, and gin in house. We serve it at our tavern but only the locals really drink it; the tourists all complain that it’s too harsh.”
“Harsh?” Diego lowered his hand, no longer ready to hurry the group into their first shot.
“Apparently you aren’t suppose to be able to taste them when mixed with lots of juices or soda?” Kitty shrugged, “I’m not sure. I just know that tourists will order a mixed drink and complain that they can taste it and it’s bad but…it’s fine? I mean it’s alcohol, it’s not going to taste like candy and sunshine.”
Diego threw his head back and laughed hard enough to draw attention from other tables, “Is New Homestead brewing moonshine?”
“We don’t exactly have room for a lot of extra equipment,” Kitty explained, “they could probably stand to filter the vodka a few more times, that one can make he shudder something fierce, and sometimes the gin tastes like the floor cleaner smells but again it’s alcohol, it’s not supposed to be nice, it’s meant to get you drunk.”
“¡Mierda! You poor soul,” Diego was wiping tears from his eyes, “It doesn’t have to be that bad.”
“Diego, they live under the ice,” Del reminded him, “they’re making due.”
“They shouldn’t have to, they belong to the fucking United Colonies. They aren’t some LIST settlement!” Diego exclaimed. He pointed at the salt shaker, “Okay, Kitty, you saw what I did, copy that. Once we have that we lick the salt, take the shot, and bite the lime once you swallow.”
“That seems like a lot for a shot,” she tilted her head to the side with a quizzical look.
“It allegedly makes the shot taste better,” Delgado picked up his shot and looked to Diego, “or you could just shoot it and not be a pussy about it.”
“I didn’t order your family’s tequila,” Diego shook his head, “it don’t go down smooth without it.”
Delgado held Diego’s stare for a beat and then threw the shot back unceremoniously. It did burn a bit, the aftertaste wrinkling his nose for a second, but it was fine. He sat the shot glass down and looked over in time to watch Kitty swallow and set hers down as well. She looked completely unphased by the cheap tequila, wearing a toothy grin at Diego who grumbled about them being no fun before licking his hand, shooting his shot, and biting down on a wedge of lime. Kitty reached over and took one of the lime wedges and bit into it, clearly curious to what it might add to the taste.
“Ethan!” Diego called over to the bartender, “another round por favor!”
“You sure, you big baby,” Delgado taunted his fellow ranger, “you barely handled the last one.”
“Vete a la verga,” Diego snarled back.
Delgado could feel Kitty looking at them. When he looked back she was still smiling, “how many ‘another rounds’ you counting on, ranger? Del and I do have work to do tomorrow.”
“Just one more,” Diego held up his hands in mock defense, “so we can have a proper toast.”
“I’ll hold you to that,” Del pointed a finger at Diego, “arguing with Jacob will give me a headache enough, I don’t want to be hung over.”
“Thought you said no work talk,” Diego leaned in.
Delgado touched Diego’s cheek and pushed his face away with minimal force. Diego laughed and clapped his friend’s shoulder as Ethan delivered the second round. Diego thanked the bartender, who gave a noncommittal nod and shuffled back to the bar.
“Don’t go crazy with the toast,” Del reached for his glass.
“I won’t,” Diego waited for Kitty to take her glass and then raised his own, “To your success today at the GalBank, to your success tomorrow, and each day forward. Arriba, abajo, al centro, y dentro. Salud!”
As Diego said the back half of his toast he raised his glass, lowered it, and pushed it to the center with Delgado following suit and Kitty trailing behind, unfamiliar with the tradition, before finishing the toast and throwing back the shot. Delgado echoed his ‘salud’ and Kitty quietly followed suit before taking her shot. Delgado and Kitty watched Diego shake off his grimace and then shared an amused look.
“Oh shove it your people drink paint thinner,” Diego waved off her look with a laugh, “go on and get out of here, I know you both want to.”
“You know nothing, Diego,” Delgado laughed and clapped his friend’s shoulder, “don’t get too wild tonight.”
“I’d say the same to you but we both know neither of us listen.” Diego’s darted his eyes to Kitty and back to Delgado and winked. While the two rangers bantered Delgado missed the young man who sidled up to Kitty with a drink in hand. When he turned around he saw her leaned back against the wall, one hand around an empty shot glass and her eyes glued to Del.
“Your wasting your time with the lawmen here,” the young man said, his words slurred, “why don’t you come sit with me, I can show you a good time.”
“That’s it?” Kitty asked loud enough to be heard over the music,
“That’s all you’ve got? I’ve heard 12 year old boys serve better pick-up lines!”
“Man, fuck you, you fat cow,” the man stumbled as he thrust his pointed index finger inches from her chest, “I was being nice!”
“Go be nice somewhere else,” Delgado shoved the man, knocking him to the floor and spilling his drink. He clapped his hands together like he was knocking dust off and then held out a hand to Kitty, “shall we, Kitten?” Delgado heard Diego behind him, “Dios Mio.”
Kitty’s skin was flush, though Del couldn’t tell if that was arousal or the alcohol, desire plain in her eyes. She took his hand and stepped over the downed drunk, “thought you’d never ask.”

my angel !! ofc!! sorry it took me a little longer to post than planned, my tagging issue has put me off uploading😭 thanks for requesting, hope you like it💌
TEASE.
bucky barnes x fem!reader — smut
Tumblr media
word count. ~ 600
warnings. 18+ only!!
Sometimes, and only sometimes, did Bucky feel like being mean to you. Not mean as cruel and hateful, but instead teasing - controlling. The need to dominate and have his way with you would strike him from nowhere.
Well, not always nowhere.
It may have been because of the way you bumped up against him during last night’s slumber - perhaps it was the tempting outline of your tits in the thin fabric of your robe during breakfast. Maybe it was how you'd ask him for help reaching things in the kitchen, soft whines with extended arms - or even as simple as the way you'd look at him.
Of course, to you, this was all mindless. You weren't even doing anything to grab the attention of your lover. But not to Bucky. These little things you did only added fuel to the already burning fire.
So now, the need to get his own back was the only thing keeping him going - the only thing to push him through the morning of your accidental and albeit brutal teasing.
You were in the kitchen, cutting some fruit when you hear Bucky’s footsteps entering the room.
"Mango?" you ask over your shoulder, holding up a cube between thumb and index.
Making his way closer, he eats the fruit from your fingers, kissing your thumb as if to savour the juice.
"Good, right?"
He hums approvingly, chewing the last little bit.
"We have the whole day. What do you want to do?" you ask, keeping your eyes ahead as you continue slicing fruits. "We have that dinner with your friends at six, though."
He situates himself behind you, his stomach pressing up against your mid back, arms reaching around to hug you from behind. "Have some ideas," he teases, craning his neck to press a kiss into the side of your neck.
You hum, amused and intrigued, silently asking him to share.
The hands wrapped around your middle trail downwards, one fleshed palm grazing over the bow of your robe - slight force sliding through the gap underneath. With his skin flat on your skin, you feel the warm contact of his touch.
Though, that only lasts so long before the placement of that warmth shifts, moving swiftly to hover over the front of your underwear. Bucky's middle finger itches down, the pad brushing over your clit through the fabric.
"I have to meet Sam out front in five," he whispers into the skin at the base of your throat, the words warm and soft against your skin.
"Wait, what?" you mumble, tone whiney from the toying between your thighs.
He hums, the sound silky.
"That's not long at all," you mutter, reaching for his hand on your cunt - wrapping your own around his wrist needily.
"I know, honey," teeth grazing up the delicate parts of your neck. "Which is why we have to finish this up later."
"No, what?" your head drops back against his shoulder, eyes looking up at him eagerly. "That's not fair. No, come on, please."
"I know," he coos, frowning with faux sympathy - a faint smile creeping through. "So mean of me."
He slips his hand from between your thighs, moving back up to retie your robe before standing aside. He reaches for a piece of mango on the chopping block and pops a chunk into his mouth, eyes lazily taking you in.
"I'll be back in an hour," he presses a kiss into your cheek and moves to the front door - slipping on his gym shoes.
"Don't wanna hear it. You're not my friend anymore."

Out of curiosity, how far ahead are you on the comic? I mean, you must have it all planned and written out, but I imagine that you are drawing the future of Aurora even while we're reading it.
So is Arc 2 already illustrated and ready for upload while you're on like Arc 5 or something? I'm by no means undermining your need for a break; I'm shocked that you've been uploading continuously for over 4 years at this point. I'm just interested to know how long it takes a person to make something this great. And also if you change any details in the final edit?
Basically: what's the workflow like?
Also I think you low-key inspired me to pick up painting as a hobby. I'm ready to pour so much money into creating things that I know I'll hate. :)
God, arc 5? That's a very generous assessment of how fast I can draw!
Typically, when the comic is updating regularly, I keep a buffer of 10 to 20 completed pages. Right now, in the interest of taking a break, the buffer is 0 completed pages.
Chapter 1 of Arc 2 is completely storyboarded, meaning it's sketched out, the dialog is all mostly finalized barring last-minute rephrasements, etc. It can be read in its current form, it just looks unpretty. In fact, just for fun, here's a sneak peek!
Tumblr media
In the next month I'll go through and finalize as many pages from this chapter as possible - which means locking down the panel borders, fleshing out the backgrounds, lining, shading, coloring, polish, etc. - which will be the process of building up a new buffer for when the comic starts back up again in January. During that time, I'll also be storyboarding Chapter 2 and as much of the following parts as I can manage.
I have the next several chapters and sub-arcs planned out in loose timelines - event A happens at location B leading to consequences C and D, stuff like that. Chapter 2, being the closest, is a little more fleshed-out, with a more detailed bullet-pointed timeline and various character ideas I've had that might or might not make it into the final version.
Tumblr media
What exactly the chapter breakdown is going to look like is a little more complicated. Initially I'd planned for Chapter 1 to be low-stakes downtime and Chapter 2 to quickly kick off the high-octane adventure again, but when I started bullet-pointing out the stuff I wanted to do in Chapter 2, I ended up with a big pile of slower-paced character moments I thought were well worth exploring, so the runtimes might stretch a little.
Translating those brainstormed notes into storyboards and dialog is what I would classify as the "writing" part of this process. It happens at an erratic pace largely determined by the whims of whatever muse decides to get me in a headlock that day; sometimes I go weeks with no storyboarding progress, sometimes I hammer out fifteen pages in one day.
It's kinda like weaving, to me. The soon-to-be-arriving parts of the story are the most finalized, the most densely woven. A little ways beyond that, things get looser - some patterns may be locked down, but the actual work that'll hold it together hasn't been done yet. And in the far-flung future arcs, it's just the basic bones of the story and a pile of the threads I've planned to use. I know the shape of it, but in order for it to be fun and engaging for me to make it, I need to give myself room to be creative when I'm putting the whole thing together.
I actually have a file called the "Toolbox" that contains every random character or subplot idea I've had, and sometimes when I'm debating where to go with a chunk of story, I'll crack it open and scan through to see if anything jumps out begging to be used. Lotta fun stuff in there that may or may not ever see the light of day. Dropping stuff in the Toolbox is one of the most fun and freeing parts of the process for me!

///
The flight from New York to Barcelona was long, especially with the delays and cold weather. You ended up spending a long chunk of time staring out the window through half-open eyes, clad in one of Clàudia’s hoodies, pining for her. Leaving the arrivals section of the airport, rolling your suitcase behind you as you glanced around, eventually spotting Patri holding up a sign with a smirk, whilst Clàudia snuck up on you, pulling you into a tight hug.
“Hi, bebé.” You cooed, melting in exhaustion but full of love as you snuggled into your girlfriend outside the airport.
With you having arrived back in Spain in the middle of the night, Patri retired to her room quickly, ready to go to sleep again, whilst you followed Clàudia to her room, curling up under the bed sheets with her.
Patri didn’t expect to end up sitting on your spine as she plopped down on the couch the next morning, wondering why the couch was so uncomfortable until she heard muffled Spanish for ‘get off my back!’
“¿Qué? Why are you on the couch?”
“Clàudia’s on a work call… and I’m jetlagged… can you get off me, por favor?” You grumbled, rolling off the couch onto the floor as Patri stood up.
“Now you’re up, your girlfriend mentioned you make good… pancakes?” Patri tried out the word on her tongue, watching as you frowned for a moment before nodding.
“Sure, I can make pancakes. Where’s your frying pan?” You enquired as Patri led you to the kitchen, not realising that Clàudia had finished her call and was now watching you and Patri make breakfast.
“Buenos días mi amor.” You smiled as you spotted Clàudia eventually, the forward/midfielder revealing herself once the test pancake was over and done with, but she kept her phone out as Patri made gagging noises to tease you both.
Your Atleti teammates ended up seeing two different tiktoks later on in the day, one on Clàudia’s account of you and Patri making pancakes, before you ended up spotting her and the video ended with Patri getting a pancake to the face after teasing you and Clàudia. However your tiktok was a little bit different, turning into a pancake tutorial whilst Patri danced to music that didn’t fit what you picked for the tiktok, and Clàudia hugged you from behind, watching you watch the pancake. The caption of your video made your Atleti teammates chuckle though. Carmen had even texted you, asking if pancakes were the only thing you knew how to cook.
‘How many Barça players does it take to make breakfast? None, you need an Atleti player.’
“Hey, babe, where’s your- found it! You might want to put whoever’s sock in the laundry, it’s covered in dust, just like your games console… you sure you’re okay with me playing Spider-Man on it?” You double-checked as Clàudia grimaced at the sock, flicking it towards Patri’s face, as the midfielder was laying on the couch, watching you both.
Patri let out a laugh as the sock hit her in the face, removing it to spot how Clàudia had curled up in your lap like a cat as you got the games console working. You were staring at your instagram for a moment as you waited, spotting the uploads from Atleti which included Lola, Merel and Carmen in Atleti festive jumpers, with Merel between Lola and Carmen. You chuckled into Clàudia’s shoulder at the tinsel around Carmen’s and Lola’s necks, before you glanced up, seeing the console was up and running.
“Sorry but I’m changing the system language for now, I don’t know enough Spanish to save New York as your friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man.” You announced, but Patri and Clàudia were too busy watching the video game introduction cutscene, and how you slowly figured out the controls and started web-slinging around New York by yourself.
“Underestimate me. That'll be fun. In fact, I dare you, underestimate me, you'll regret it.” You murmured to yourself, not realising how much Patri was trying to hold back her laughter as Clàudia shifted in your lap, blocking the TV as her nose brushed yours.
“Bebé, you are threatening the TV.”
“I’m threatening Kingpin, but yeah… I’m threatening the TV…” Quickly hitting pause on the videogame, you pressed your lips to Clàudia’s, her hands around your shoulders before a sock hit you in the back of the head.
“Rude, Guijarro!”
You ended up playing Spider-Man for a little longer until a knock at the door had Patri getting up to go answer it, since Clàudia was more than happy not to move, snuggled into you. You had missed Clàudia whilst in New York, and she had missed you when she had stayed in Spain, later admitting she wished you two could have been together on New Year’s Eve at least.
“I wish I could have been kissing you at midnight, as the fireworks were going off, lighting up the New York skyline…” you were cut off as Clàudia whispered a countdown in Spanish, pressing her lips to yours after uno, the two of you so distracted in each other that the sound of the door shutting went unheard, and so did the footsteps of two of your girlfriend’s teammates walking in with Patri.
“Hey! Not on the living room floor!” Patri exclaimed, making Clàudia jump whilst you fell backwards, almost hitting your head on the coffee table but Clàudia cupped the back of your head with her hands, leaning over you as you let out a breath, gazing up at her.
You were so distracted by Patri that you almost misheard the Spanish that came out of Aitana’s mouth about Patri being a third wheel in her own home. Clàudia was busy playfully glaring at her and Laia when your girlfriend realised you knew what Aitana had said, and watched as your face fell.
There were many reasons that when you stayed over in Barcelona in your free time that you didn’t try to impose within the home that Patri and Clàudia shared, which explained why Clàudia had stayed in Madrid with you post-Euros. You lived alone, you had no roommates to make uncomfortable with any public displays of affection, although Patri just loved to tease you both instead.
“I got you something, whilst I was in New York…” you whispered into the darkness later that night, Clàudia shifting slightly to look at you in sleepy intrigue.
“I’ll show you in the morning, mi amor. By the way, did you see that social media post, trying to rumour me leaving Atleti for Gotham. I’m happy in Spain. I just don’t know where I’m going on loan yet. Will it bother you? If I’m further away, or end up at Real Madrid or something?” You enquired, but Clàudia kissed your forehead.
“Te amo, wherever you are in Spain, bebé.”
Waking up the next morning, Clàudia was using you as a pillow with her arms wrapped around you, the Barcelona player still asleep whilst you laid there, staring up at the ceiling. Your thoughts kept their hold on you until Clàudia’s fingers running over your bare skin caught your attention, her eyes on you with a smirk as her fingers located the raised skin of your tattoo that you got in New York.
Your mornings in Barcelona stayed this way, spending time with Clàudia, and by extension, Clàudia’s teammates when they were around, the first match back for Barcelona being on the 7th after all. A match against Sevilla, which you thought was a little ironic, since it was when Clàudia was loaned to Sevilla that you first saw her. Atleti’s first match was the day after, but you wouldn’t be present at the away game, a fact you found out about when your phone began to ring, interrupting your conversation with Clàudia and Patri as you flicked the latest pancake from the pan onto the plate and picked up the phone.
Clàudia and Patri watched as you paced up and down the kitchen, unknownst to them at first but you were on the phone with your management, asking questions as the two Barcelona players watched.
Clàudia didn’t expect you to cover your speaker, leaning forwards to kiss her on the forehead before continuing your conversation, flustering the striker as Patri began to tease her.
Luckily for you both, Patri had not seen the gift that you had brought Clàudia back from New York, because if the midfielder did see it, you knew that both of your entire teams would never stop the teasing that would follow. Clàudia didn’t care, she loved the gift you got her, and she loves you.
She was in love with a goalie. Her goalie, you were her goalie.

Deep Story - Prologue, pt 1 (Translation)
Alright, so... this thing is LONG. Like, 43 pages long and Tumblr won't let me upload that many at once (I tried combining them. Chrome crashed), so I'll unfortunately have to post it in two parts (link here). It would've been way shorter if I decided to just go with a plain transcript but... I didn't want to give y'all a giant, bland chunk of text. So... I tried to match the chats as best as I could in MS Word, lol. Please keep in mind that translated texts can never be perfect; I did this to the best of my ability as someone for who Korean is their 4th language. Anyways. Hope you enjoy this Behemoth of a prologue, lmao.

Jotaro x Reader Buzzfeed Unsolved
Just went on a buzzfeed unsolved binge when i got bored last night and this came out as a result. This is crack so please treat it as such. I may write a second part if people enjoy this. I just like the idea of Jotaro using Splat to mess with you. (Also this is an everyone lives AU bc I said so)
Also when I wrote this out I had this in the original Buzzfeed Unsolved meme format but it didn’t copy over so the stuff written like this is Joot speaking
Tumblr media
“Hello and welcome back to another episode where we explore the question, are ghosts real? Today—stop rolling your eyes, Jotaro!”
“I didn’t roll my eyes.”
“You clearly did! Covering your head with that hat won’t undo what I’ll find on the footage when I’m editing later.”
“Good grief.”
“Don’t good grief me. We’re exploring serious stuff.”
“Ghosts?”
“Ghosts are serious. Maybe not to you, but for me they are. I’m actually terrified right now. I’m about to spend a good chunk of my night conversing with the undead. You just choose not to believe in their existence.”
“Because they’re not real.”
“I dragged your ass outside an allegedly haunted building. You're wasting your breath trying to convince the wrong person.” You turn back around so you’re facing the camera. “We’ve been over this before but in case you suck at picking up context clues, I’m on a mission to prove to Jotaro that ghosts are real and Jotaro thinks this is nothing but a waste of time.”
“Definitely a waste of my time.”
“You act like I force you to come every time but you and I both know it’s not true. You’re built like you belong on an American football team. I can’t force you to do anything you truly don’t want to do. That shows me there’s an inkling of hope that there may be a chance I could change your mind.”
You pretended not to see the second eye roll to allow yourself a moment to explain the lore behind the building. It took you longer than you had anticipated due to Jotaro’s scoffing at some outlandish claims or holes in your story.
As you bickered, you couldn’t help but be reminded of how this whole situation came to be. A few weeks before Jotaro suddenly disappeared for over a few months, you had begun to notice strange and unexplainable occurrences that had begun to happen around him. You offhandedly joked about him being haunted by a ghost before he had disappeared completely.
You weren’t sure if you would consider him to be a friend at the time. He wasn’t particularly close to anyone and you just happened to strike up a conversation as he sat down around the spot where you usually ate by yourself at lunch.
Once he had gone missing for some time, you had found yourself missing him. You changed up your spot at lunch when you got lonely and happened to overhear some girls talking about a haunted bathroom on the second floor of the school.
You didn’t have much equipment at the time, just your phone to record. You sat in the bathroom a while timidly asking if there were spirits present. You didn’t gather much evidence, just the stall closing by itself and some tapping, but when you uploaded it to the internet you found yourself gaining a small following.
The support encouraged you to buy a better camera and a microphone so you could be heard better. You began checking out abandoned buildings and homes and eventually your work became relatively well-known throughout the school. People who never bothered talking to you before began to ask if they could be featured in videos. It was overwhelming but you decided to keep the project to just yourself.
Not long afterward Jotaro returned to school and as a joke you asked him how his ghost problem was going. He had tensed at the question so in order to ease the tension you began to ramble about how you had started a ghost hunting show on the internet and even showed him snippets from an episode to prove your point.
When your rambling was over he surprised you with a snort. “Ghosts aren’t real.”
You felt your jaw drop. Jotaro Kujo—the most haunted person you knew—didn’t believe in ghosts.
You invited him jokingly to join you for your next video after school and to your surprise he had shown up after a remark about how his friend had something to do so he wanted to kill time.
With your banter, his abrasive taunts, and his attractive looks your following skyrocketed and your videos became more popular than ever. You begged him to star in another video and with some convincing from his friend, Kakyoin, Jotaro became a permanent staple to your show.
“Stop blowing air on the back of my neck. You’re not funny.”
“I’m all the way over here. Maybe it’s one of your ghost friends.”
You looked over to find a considerable distance between the two of you. He wasn’t far, but he was far enough that you shouldn’t be able to feel his breath. “Are you not feeling this right now?”
“It’s just the wind.”
“I only feel it on my neck! The wind doesn’t concentrate on one singular point!”
“It’s probably just a draft.”
“You’re really telling me you don’t feel anything—” you cut yourself off as a door slowly creaked shut behind you. The sound was eerie and dragged on. It sent shivers throughout your body.
“Nothing a little grease can’t fix.”
“Are you kidding me? Are you really trying to rationalize that?!”
“Everything can be rationalized. Are you trying to convince me Casper did that?”
“And if I say possibly?”
“I’ll tell you that you’re full of shit.”
“You’re the one who’s full of shit. How, after everything we’ve seen, don’t even believe in the possibility that there may be something out there you can’t quite explain with a grounded explanation?”
“Are you telling me ghosts are a more grounded explanation than the wind?”
“Maybe I am.”
“You’re full of shit.”
“Agree to disagree. Now can I move onto the lore behind this room so we can leave?”
“No. How about you face your fears for a change?”
“Face my fears? I just saw a ghost close the door and I didn’t high-tail it to the next town over. I have to be the bravest person you know.”
“Kakyoin was on this shitty show too, remember? He believed in ghosts.”
“No, he said he could be persuaded into believing ghosts were real. There’s a difference. Now lets–” Whatever you were trying to say got cut off by the door slamming open behind you with a bang. “Fuck the lore, lets go,” you say as you begin to push Jotaro toward the exit on the other side. Jotaro, being the stubborn bastard, didn’t move an inch.
“No, we have time. What were you saying?”
“Doesn’t matter. I know how to read a room. We’re getting evicted.”
“Did your ghost friends tell you that?”
“They actually did. They were pretty adamant about it. Told me the tall guy was getting on their nerves.”
“Wonder who that is.”
If Jotaro noticed his stand dematerializing from behind the same door that had been moved, he didn’t say anything.

Weekly Update - 05/18/2023
Hey all! I think I'm going to start doing weekly updates since I have a lot going on and a lot of fics in the works! I want you to know what I'm currently working on (WIPs) and I'll also toss some life updates in here as well. I'm also going to mention requests I have in the pipeline and when I'm expecting to complete them. Maybe your request is in there! (It probably is)
Going forward the updates will be on Sunday, I'm just doing this now because I have ADHD and it's on my mind today lol.
Since I've been really following the winds of inspiration lately, I want to keep doing that so I'm just putting this here so you know where the winds are blowing lmao.
I'll also mention if I think my current longfic is going to be delayed or anything here as well.
Gonna cut it up into sections to keep it consistent and easy:
Long/Chaptered Fic Updates
Currently I'm working on A Bit Dodgy, as many of you know. There will NOT be an update this Monday (05/22/2023). Though I will be working on it this week for @welcometostayingawake to edit and I'll have it to post by 05/29/2023 (that's the goal). If it's going to be pushed back again, I'll let you all know the Sunday before (05/28/2023).
Mini-series Update
Worth the Risk Part 3 should be out this week. That's the goal anyway. I have a good chunk of it done but there's still a lot to do. <- Still hoping to have this out this week but we will see (05/22/2023)
Uploading The Fractured Moon Part 2 (either tonight or tomorrow yay) Continuing to chip away at The Fractured Moon Part 3
There's a top secret fic series coming out HOPEFULLY this weekend, but it may be next weekend instead depending on how quickly I can get it finished. I'm losing my mind over it. (It's a 3 parter and all 3 parts are coming out at the same time teehee) <- Editing that today 05/22/2023. Hope to be done with it by tonight!
In June there's a writing challenge for Pride that @flightlessangelwings is putting on and I'm working on my fic for that so I'll be announcing more for that fic once I have the details better outlined!
Fool Me Twice should be getting a part 2 soon. I'm hoping I'll feel inspired to at least start it this week but maybe not. <- Taking this off the list for this week. Focusing on ABD and requests (05/22/2023).
Still considering doing 2 other parts for The OJ Problem but honestly, it's not that exciting to me rn. Since it's more of a Valentine's Day fic I might consider just doing those next year. <- Taking this off the list for this week. Focusing on ABD and requests (05/22/2023) will probably just put this on for next year for valentine's day.
Requests
I still have a sizeable amount of requests. REQUESTS ARE STILL CLOSED CURRENTLY. If your request is in blue, that means I'm going to try to work on it this week (05/21-05/27). If it's in pink, I'm going to try to work on it a different week. It's taking me a while to get into the headspace for some of them so thank you for your patience. Green means it's done I'm just working on editing now. They are posted in no real order, just working on them as I feel inspired to.
Blue Jones X f!Reader requested by @saraicus
There are 2 prompts in particular that I liked from the list you sent so I'll be doing them. - His eyeliner running down as he’s banging you against his desk - You’re a new patient and he just grows overprotective towards you. Doesn’t want you to meet other men and keeps you in solitary confinement for his jealousy sake.
Moon Boys X f!Reader by @ravenz-hope
Gamer reader and the boys getting angsty over her being too obsessed with the game (most relatable thing ever) <- Haven't had the time to set up the post but this will be coming out very soon. Need to finish editing as well (05/22/2023)
Moon Boys X f!Reader by @simpforbritgents
Asking for something like Feeling Flustered where the moon boys are doing guided phone sex.
Moon Boys X f!Reader by @mercuryrosesixx
Moon Boys w/ a f!Reader w/ nipple piercings. <- Started working on headcanons (05/22/2023).
Marc Spector X f!Reader by @blueflowerhat
Marc shower sex based on AI prompt.
Steven Grant X f!Reader by Anon -
Steven and Reader are both virgins. Marc is guiding/coaching Steven.
Doctor Marc Spector X Patient Reader by @burnincrown
Role Reversal (sort of) of Not a Doctor - Marc is the doc, reader is the patient and he takes advantage - Dark Fic
Nathan Bateman X f!Reader by @campingwiththecharmings
This is the prompt that hit me like a Nathan-shaped mac truck! -> “if you don’t like my teasing why are you moaning”
Nathan Bateman X f!Reader by Anon
Cam girl reader x Nathan - Nathan turns to a cam girl, he's been kinda stalking her. (Excited hehe)
That's it for right now. I'm a busy lady as usual but I like having a few different projects going at once! More coming soon! Thanks for always being so awesome and supportive. Love you all!

Hi hi again! 🫧 back just to say a few things !
I just wanted to say that I love your writing style, it just always makes me feel so immersed in the story! I also love and adore how sweet you are on your blog, it makes me feel rlly comfy and makes me look forward to your uploads even more!! Lately I’ve been struggling with motivation to continue writing and actually post more frequently, and I was just wondering if you had any tips for motivation! I’ve lacked motivation and time and I mean I know you can’t help on the time aspect but I was hoping maybe you had some advice for motivation! 🫶🫶
helloo welcome back angel! i hope you’ve been doing well ^_^
first off thank you so much u flatter me 😭 that’s smth i value a lot so it means a lot to me that you think so! and i’m so glad you feel comfortable here as well! you always have such sweet things to say, i really appreciate you n all your lovely words of support ♡
abt the struggles w motivation, i definitely understand where you’re coming from. i think it’s pretty natural for everyone who writes to go through periods where you're either overflowing w ideas, or you have to drag yourself to your wip kicking and screaming 😭 in my experience, the hardest part is almost always just getting yourself started. once you encourage yourself to begin writing, even if you only get a little bit done, it’s still progress! more often than not, you’ll end up naturally gaining momentum and before you know it you’ve written way more than you’d anticipated!
a smart way to go abt it may be to tell yourself that you don’t have to complete a lot in one sitting, just write what you can without any expectations and eventually you’ll find your rhythm. if you’re having trouble getting through a certain scene or section, a trick i sometimes use is to write out lines of dialogue or actions that i know for sure i want to include later on. if there’s a part you have planned that you’re really excited to write, try writing it out first and then ask yourself how you’ll get from point a to point b. this method can be super useful bc if you’re very invested in the scene, it’ll be much more enjoyable for you to write and you may feel more compelled to fill in the gaps surrounding it afterwards!
other forms of media can also play a big role in getting you motivated! music especially is one of the best ways to get yourself excited abt the piece you're working on in my opinion. listening to songs where the lyrics match really well with the scenario you're writing and/or the feelings you're trying to convey, or even listening to instrumentals that cultivate the right atmosphere, can work wonders for your drive to write and even provide you with new ideas. music is one of the most powerful motivators for me!
another thing i want to mention is that a good chunk of my fics were requests from my old blog! if you’re the type of person who might benefit from knowing that someone is waiting on a fic from you, then taking requests from ppl could be worth a shot! it can also help stimulate your creativity if the requester has a specific thing in mind they’d like you to include in the work. ofc, if you feel like it would only stress you out to have the expectation of completing it hanging over your head, then definitely avoid doing that to yourself. all in all it should be a (mostly) fun experience so don’t push yourself too hard if you’ve tried everything you can and still feel no inspiration to finish a certain wips. if there’s a story you’ve been dying to tell, focus on that and be as self-indulgent as you want! whenever you’re enjoying yourself, it often translates into the writing 🥰
apologies for the colossal response 😭 but i hope it makes sense and can help you out somehow! best of luck babe i’ll be cheering for you <3

curious of. the narrator Says that he is able to remain more put together post skip ending, because his mind works differently from stanley's - curious of. to what degree that *is* the function by which he is holding together, vs to what degree (if any!!) there is a more human-normal dissociation/compartmentalization involved ??
yeah so he's kind of lying.
not fully. but he's doing that thing again where he's focusing on Stanley and choosing to compartmentalize his own feelings into the boxes of "we're not going to address that! yay!" that he does not look at.
okay, let me rewind a little bit, because there IS more to this.
So I've been reading a fantastic fic called txtFileNotFound.pdf, and the Narrator in this fic literally ends up uploading almost all his memories of a run into VHS tapes. He leaves like, the MOST recent save, but the chunk of it, the actual experience of it in its rawest form, gets loaded away and he honestly never has to look at it again if he doesn't want to.
and this is a FASCINATING concept to me.
the Narrator how I write him doesn't do this, it's not the same, but I was definitely influenced by this fic. he remembers experiences, but he's honestly had so many that are so similar that at a point, things start to blend into each other. it's part of why he tries so hard to make things fun and new for Stanley.
And because he has had so many, so similar to each other, he can to some degree (and it's probably part of the game design) put the previous memory runs to the side. So what ends up happening is he has the skeleton of the experience, but not the finer details.
The first time they did the Zending, he only remembered them getting to the starry dome (and that's as far as his script showed him). the first time they did the confusion ending, he only had bits and pieces. (over time, as they did these things again, he got more of the skeleton, but he's not going to remember the full meat of a run unless Stanley reminds him.)
So, Skip button is... complicated. Because there is SO MUCH LENGTH OF TIME, it's hard to NOT know what happened, but also, people aren't meant to remember that much time. So for the narrator, it's both coping mechanism and part of the game to try to contract it down to "the moments something happened" and the basic gist of the situation. people are NOT designed to remember long periods of nothing.
so he's compartmentalizing. the game and its structure is helping him, in this moment, because it keeps the wheel turning. and because he NEEDS to compartmentalize it, as much as possible, so he doesn't fall into the trap of fixating. which started the problem to begin with.
which is also why later when Stanley is like "we kind of need to process it?" hes like "I DONT. WANT. TO DO THAT. YET." because if he does, he's gonna get stuck, and he is not at a point yet to get himself unstuck.
(that's why he's like "can it wait till I finish this body. so like. I have this thing done and have one less thing to worry about." and later when they DO process it, Stanley will have a PHYSICAL way to pull him back to the present.)

Got around to rewatching all those voices and can't believe I didn't see anyone talk about this before.  Maybe if larries weren't too busy bitching about Freddie they would have noticed louis pretty much confirm his and Harry's relationship.  I watched this whole 1d bit with an open mind and i can see how every word is chosen very carefully.  I'm not sure he's talking about Harry's relationship like it's in the past.  He said "There was this instant bond and chemistry...we were unstoppable... the memories, the relationship (singular with a pause), the experiences" then he goes off into the band taking a break. Its actually brilliant how that whole part you can easily interchange the band with Harry and you don't really know what he's talking about. So is he talking about harry when talking about 1d ending and him being surprised and upset by it? I'm not sure. If anyone wants to watch it the whole thing it's uploaded to tiktok in 10 parts. The parts about his mom were as sad as I remembered... https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMMArxkGq/
THANK YOU FOR THIS CLIP!! I should have known it was posted here vs. youtube, etc., ratcha fratcha. Wow is this ask meeeeee, I saw it with my best friend, who's aware of fandom shit yet not in it, and we were both like, YOUCH, that first ten minutes really spells it out, dunnit? But also, yeah, you're right, how telling that a big chunk of larr nation just latched on to Freddie, cried we aren't gonna watch this, whinged we're "so tired of stunts" etc etc etc dumb take after dumbass take, and either left or doubled down on dumbass takes, and all of it just low-key bugs the shit out of me, tbh, why can't you just live your whole "pick someone supportive" truth and say a) yes, these two seem like they were together back in the day, but also b) yes, these two seem like they split up more than once, i.e., they got together again more than once, i.e., you can have it all but also it doesn't even matter because they're human beings you don't even know??! The gold-star ao3ification of larr nation is something to behold, yet also kinda sad, because it's not just obsessively focusing on gifsets from 14 years ago, it's about making people feel like they can't be friends unless they keep that gold-star status. Go ahead and enjoy fic, I know I do, but you don't have to be that anxious about it, jesus christ (eta: yeah you're so right the careful wording and imagery is fucking mastercraft louis tomlinson energy)

I'm at a little past the halfway point for writing the required chapters for Tapas (Reborn in a Fighting Game with My Rival, which you can read HERE) and am feeling a lil reflective already. I didn't know if I could have anything ready for a new series and was expecting to heavily rewrite some fanfics, but now I have about 24k words I wasn't expecting to have. A chunk of that is rewritten from old projects, but a lot of it is hard work putting a story outline I've had in my head forever onto the page. I'm really loving the two main characters, the wild disaster nerd Amvery and the driven and passionate also mega nerd Louise and their rivalry/friendship/something more? is really fun to write so far.
I was uncertain I'd be able to write so much, and was thinking I'd have to put RS on hiatus for a month to keep up if I wanted to enter this contest. But I also I feel like the biggest flex I can do would be to keep Rising Shards going the same, so my regular readers aren't losing out for a series they may not even want to read. With Reborn feeling more like work writing (not in a bad way, just in like writing a book to a specific chapter and word count set by someone else feels more like work, and I'm using my freelance editing time for it as well), Rising Shards feels like chill recovery writing, and I find myself really missing the RS crew when I get back to them, which is a nice feeling even if I'm not really spending any time away from them overall. I was feeling a bit burnt out on writing in general, but this project's given me a boost of creative energy having something new to work on which also in turn makes me want to keep making RS the best I can make it.
Having a big project like this is also helping me with my daily writing. I really like late night writing and had an hour set for it, but a lot of the time I'd be too tired to do it, so I'm trying to get the required writing for the day done earlier, and I think it's making me a lot more productive. Web novels in general greatly help my productivity as a writer I think. I have a set number of chapters I have to write and scheduled dates for them, so that helps me not slack off, and having feedback for each chapter available so fast is also a big motivator.
The scary obstacle now is getting readership on Reborn. Part of winning the contest is to have a lot of views and subs, and there are plenty in the contest with lots and lots of views, so naturally I immediately freaked out and worried this was all for naught already. But I have til the end of the year and I only just started uploading a few days ago so I have to remind myself it takes time.

If this is rude to ask please please ignore, this is from the perspective of someone in pre-planning stages of my own comic:
How long did it take you to shrink from the 30(?) page buffer I think you said you started with to 10 pages? I assume starting with that big buffer meant that this is less impactful to the comic and thus less stressful, but do you have breaks planned for yourself so you can re-up that backlog or do you intend to try to do it in-time with the comic? You're a powerhouse who I only ascribe to half the output of, but I'd love to know a little more about your backlog ethos. (When you have time of course!)
Heh, oh boy. The biggest bite got taken out of the buffer during Falst's intro arc. I had boarded something like a dozen pages when I decided I didn't like the direction they'd taken and I scrapped them back to blanks. I don't do this as a rule, but I could tell this one was a problem - I can't even remember why now, but there was something there that just wasn't working. I thus had a time-loss redoing those pages that made up the better part of a chapter, and my storyboard buffer shrank pretty significantly, though it's since recovered in a big way.
More of the buffer got worn down during the back half of the Zuurith arc and the Tynan fight, since every page was so complicated. Alongside the environmental fog and rain effects and the eight different kinds of glow, it was also a lot of characters on every page, and that increased the lineart and coloring time significantly. If I recall correctly, the buffer shrank to the low single digits a few times during that arc.
At some point I might take a break, but I kind of don't want to. I've kept up a solid pace this long and I don't wanna break my streak. I've been able to build the buffer back up to 20 pages before, but the problem is I tend to then take the following week or two off on the comic progress front because in my head I've made a good chunk of progress and thus should take a break. I'm getting better at incremental scene-by-scene progress, and I think chapter 20 is going to be good for rebuilding the buffer, because - spoiler alert - a lot of these scenes are one or two characters only, and most of them have fairly dark featureless backgrounds. I suspect I'll be able to get a healthy headstart just working through this chapter. This was my reward to myself for constantly making the Tynan fight increasingly complicated and ridiculous, and it's honestly a breath of fresh air to make these pages so much simpler.
My rule for comic-making is set a pace you can keep up. If you need to take a break, that's fine - my own unwillingness to do so is a me thing I'm working through. not a policy to emulate. I've been able to keep this up for three years with minimal buffer-loss, and as the story progresses my own art gets better and faster, making it easier for me to maintain this pace. That's why I made sure to start with such a hefty buffer - to give myself time to pick up speed and get better, time to have the occasional crash-and-burn week or even month where nothing gets done, and time to rewrite things that were being problems. Basically, the buffer is 100% working as intended so far, because all of those things have happened at least once.
The math is pretty favorable. With a three-page-a-week upload schedule, if I can finish three pages in under a week I'm guaranteed to keep the buffer going. At peak performance I can do five or six pages in one day, though that's dependent on complexity and that pace isn't sustainable for long - but of course it doesn't have to be, because that buys me two weeks to recover and do all the other stuff I couldn't do during the hellride. The block of pages I'm going to color tonight is five pages, which will buy me nearly two weeks. I lined and shaded those five pages on Friday, and I'd blocked out the backgrounds for this whole scene and the following one in one afternoon the previous week. It's not hellride-pace because it doesn't have to be, but if I needed to push it I could buy myself a week in under a day. Because of this, rebuilding the buffer back up to 20+ is a lower priority than keeping a steady pace that won't hurt my drawing hand or my writing brain.
But if I take too big of a hit I'll announce a two-week break or something. I have things arranged so hopefully I never have to, but ya never know, and it's important to be okay with taking the occasional unexpected hit!

OK so update on the (un)Official Guide. This chapter is starting to get long again, so I'm thinking I'll split it up into two slightly shorter chapters, post the first part of it ASAP (hopefully within a day or two) and then post the second part of the chapter this coming weekend. The alternative is to wait until Friday to post the first part of the chapter, or possibly the entire giant chapter if I can get my ass in gear, but honestly... I wanna get the story out to yall asap, especially since I said I'd upload it this past weekend and then I didn't. And it'll help me with my executive dysfunction if I post it in those smaller chunks, I think.
Anyway, sorry the mental eels and life stuff have been taking over my brain the last couple weeks, but I've missed writing and uploading my story and I desperately want to keep going, I'm as hopeful of myself as all of yall are cheering me on. Big preesh to everyone who is waiting on the next story and has to deal with my bs lol, I have to deal with it too

To preface this ask I NEED to emphasize that the newest chapter of Sunburst was amazing and I love it!!
What exactly were your ideas for a lothal arc?
And exactly how far into writing it were you before you realized what you were doing?
Hello! Thanks a ton! I am always happy to hear about the enjoyment of Sunburst XD The thing is a project for sure, so any time i hear that it makes me so excited!
Honestly, not 100% sure as I only felt the desire to write it when I wrote that Lothal moment. But, it would've probably been him on Lothal in the streets where he meets another street-kid with Force-abilities and they find the temple together. Luke would try to train him but then, in the end, he would have to leave because they are found by the Inquisitors. He'd allow himself to be taken so Ezra could escape, leaving the other unsure what to do now that he has all this knowledge of the Force but, unlike with Din, neither of them had connection in the future so Luke would not be able to tell him to wait for Kanan. So, he'd potentially get his pathway very changed as well.
Now, for the second question, are you asking in general for Sunburst?
In most cases of my multi-chapters, I have a good chunk of the story done in my head. I normally do not post a story unless I have a beginning, a potential twist, a middle, a big scene, and the ending done. I'm always willing to let things change but for the most part that is how I am able to select the stories I upload is because I have the ideas all written out on where it's gonna go. Like with Sunburst, there are times things change or are tempted to change and depending on things I either decide to go with he change or keep to the story as originally planned.
I already have some ending scenes of the saga of Sunburst written out because, for the most part, I already see where I want it to go.
But things do change a lot. Like, originally, there wasn't going to be a Mandalorian Arc. It would've been maybe a moment of interaction between Luke and Din before we went to Vader--but then I realized that the things I want to happen in future chapters and stories in the series wouldn't make sense without them having a far deeper connection.
So...I dunno if that answered your question XD I hope it did. if not, let me know and i'll be happy to answer it again!!

Your work reminds me of Euclase, who used to be in the fandom long ago before she went pro. Except it looks like you do paintovers and smudging, which is like Petite-Madame, another great artist who used to be in the fandom. You fit in the middle, but either way it's lovely to see beautiful art being made for our favorite characters.
Oh hey, thank you! 😊💜
I have been in fandom when they were around still and I definitely took some inspiration from their art! I admire Euclase's painterly soft but still very precise realism and the work of color/glow in her later spn paintings and I have definitely looked at a few of her tutorials to figure out my own style (this one for example). I also always loved Petite-Madame's Destiel art, especially the highlighting, and well, I will never forget her beautiful Twist and Shout fanart.
About the latter part of the ask, I actually don't do smudging at all :D I tried it once here, but the smudge tool really overwhelms me. I instead blend with the pipette tool and a soft brush (or, if I keep it more painterly, with a textured brush). It just personally works better for me! And about the paintovers, I actually had to google what that means, but I think as I understand it I don't do that either (I think?) xD I did paintovers back in 2014/2015 when I first eased my way into digital art but did then stop painting completely since it felt like I was cheating and it catapulted me into a 5-year long art block until I felt brave enough to pick up a pen again (sorry if that's too personal and I am being awkward) 😅 I do sometimes stay very close to a reference or a screenshot of the show but I don't paint over it, I just try to recreate it and make it more pretty (in my personal perspective, that's of course very subjective) :D I also try to "loosen" up more with the 'realism' aspect of things lately, and just keep it more textured and painterly, or do some doodles and sketches, and go more nuts with the colors, because I always have the feeling that my perfectionism limits me in what I allow myself to paint (I say while I work on a painting that references a screenshot of the show, but I am trying, I swear, if you look at my latest art! Sometimes a more 'realistic' attempt at painting sneaks into it but I definitely want to be more flexible and upload more stylized stuff as well 😂)
I think when we are talking about styles, I also have to mention other awesome artists in this fandom that I take a big chunk of inspiration from and that influence my own style and processes as an artist :D For example, Winchester-Reload, who obviously is just 💚💙 with her paintings and shading (those cheekbones!!! the beards!!!) and especially the facial expressions and emotions transferred by her art, Diminuel with the highlights and blush and absolutely adorable cuteness, and Clickbaitcowboy with his peak gender art and the way he draws bodies and does stylized illustrations that look very realistic at the same time (how??? sir your art is so pretty). Also Scenteddean, Artmetica, C-Kaeru, Feredir, Werepires, Free-To-Be-Impaled, Naughtystiel, and so so so many more artists who created beautiful art for this fandom and who are just so talented <3
Sorry if my answer was a little bit on the long side! Again, thank you so much. I think it's such a great compliment to be associated with Euclase's and Petite-Madame's styles whose art I definitely looked up to growing up in the fandom 😳 And thank you for being so lovely, I hope my 4 am answering attempt does your ask justice 😭💜

AAAJFHDGHJFGH IM SO EXCITED TO SEE A LAPIS CENTRIC COMIC IN THE WORKS!! especially one that explores her character more AND is close to canon?? im literally dying on t he spot wtf i owe you my limbs and soul
How are you planning on posting the comic? Will you be posting a panel every time you finish one, post the story one part at a time (considering theres 4 parts) or wait until youve finished the whole thing before you upload it? whatever it is im hyped as FUCK to see it
Thank you for the support!!! its something I've been really excited about and seeing other people be excited is really encouraging
that's been something I've been stuck on! I really want to avoid the typical webcomic upload schedule of a certain number of pages per week because I've had bad luck with it before and it ended up creating a ton of stress for me and makes the process go waaaay slower. I really want to work on everything as if I'm making one finished peace so that my art style is more consistent and my work flow is more manageable. What I'm thinking about doing is finishing each part and then posting it all together, and then potentially posting chunks of pages on my patreon as I work. I am a bit concerned about overwhelming myself and underestimating how much work I'm gonna have to pour into this, my first part is complete and is around 30k words which is. obviously a lot LOL. and considering I work a full time job on top of everything I can't dedicate as much time to my art as I'd like. in an ideal world I would love to get enough financial support for my art to be able to quit my day job and dedicate all my time to finishing projects like this, but I think that's something far in the future. otherwise I'm gonna be taking things one step at a time and encourage myself to stay motivated :) its a project I really care about and seeing people be excited really helps a lot
