Got around to rewatching all those voices and can't believe I didn't see anyone talk about this before.  Maybe if larries weren't too busy bitching about Freddie they would have noticed louis pretty much confirm his and Harry's relationship.  I watched this whole 1d bit with an open mind and i can see how every word is chosen very carefully.  I'm not sure he's talking about Harry's relationship like it's in the past.  He said "There was this instant bond and chemistry...we were unstoppable... the memories, the relationship (singular with a pause), the experiences" then he goes off into the band taking a break. Its actually brilliant how that whole part you can easily interchange the band with Harry and you don't really know what he's talking about. So is he talking about harry when talking about 1d ending and him being surprised and upset by it? I'm not sure. webcomic/indie comic from the 2010s. basically a sci-fi short story about a young girl (with red hair?) who was being raised by scientists as part of an experiment. she receives a haircut/has her head shaved, in preparation for her annual brain scan/testing. it is revealed that while her body is human, her "brain" is artificial, made of computer implants throughout her skull and spine. at some point her biological mother (also a scientist on the same campus?) encounters her and is repulsed, viewing her as a machine who has murdered her daughter.

i really wish i had the motivation to write rn, because i have an idea for a post-canon Dracula fic where the characters have to deal with world war one. like, how do you even cope with thinking you saved all those lives, only for the entire western world to go to absolute shit just 20-ish years later? if only Bram Stoker had known what was coming.

anyway, i find it so interesting to consider what certain characters would do in that situation.

depending on when he was born, Quincey Jr could be just old enough to enlist or get drafted. or honestly, he might just want to be a hero like his parents, and lie about his age. and let's be real, that boy has some latent vampire powers that would give him an edge.

Jonathan has good survival instincts, an ear for languages, and the ability and willingness to scale sheer walls with a knife between his teeth if necessary. Mina has a really impressive memory for conversations and schedules, a love of technology, experience resisting what is essentially supernatural interrogation, and probably some vampire side effects of her own. both of them know shorthand and have plenty of experience with life or death situations. they would kick ass as spies and wireless operators.

Jack and Van Helsing would have to cease the medical malpractice to be actual army doctors. maybe learn about shell shock and call up Jonathan about that old "brain fever" diagnosis of his.

and what would Arthur even do? what did lords do during WW1? try to keep his friends out of harm's way? use his seat in government to try and end the war? grapple with the fact that lordships are falling out of favour and the world is moving on into a modern era without him?

i just find it fun to ponder.

I do think it's funny that the pjo fandom has kind of modernized a lot of characters looks/aesthetics with the changing time even if it's just subtle things like their haircuts or graphics on their shirts, but not Will.... like we have been drawing this kid with the same haircut for 10+ years and we still make him wear bootcut jeans with flip flops. It's so amusing, we hold up all these characters and we're like "look how they've grown and changed!" I'll see Hazel drawn with butterfly locs! Annabeth in fics now wears clothes like what I see women wearing on home design shows! Sometimes people give Nico a modern mullet or a fluffy tiktok haircut! I no longer see people drawing Piper in the babydoll dress and jeans combo! But for whatever everyone across the fandom seemed to look at Will and go "this boy shall only ever belong in the 2010s" and its funny as hell to me.

I’ve been a part of IRL queer and trans communities for almost 15 years, and I’ve watched every single one those remorselessly communities chew up and spit out transfems. None of them ever having been able to keep a transfem around for more than a year without getting a “bad vibe.” They’ve all kicked people with no other safety net to the curb, completely cutting them off from any of the benefits of an accepting community. Every transfem I know is either dead or living in poverty with no lifeline besides, perhaps, an extremely unhealthy tgirl skyrim house. Trans guys are just as quick to engage in this type of behavior as cis people! It’s like. Insane to me that I’m getting called delusional over this, I’ve watched this exact thing play out dozens of times. It’s happened to me and every transfem I’ve ever known IRL multiple times. Like. Everyone knows about the tranny hovels. Where do you think that comes from if not from the community widely excluding and discriminating against us? That’s not a situation that happens unless you have literally no where else to go.
