so it def happens in the bunker, because the two of them are so used to that being a "private" space that they don't even think about their mom being around and she catches them in the kitchen. dean was cooking dinner (something nice, for once, since he realized that "oh shit, charlie's fake cards she got going for us gives us unlimited budget") and sam couldn't keep his hands to himself, he loves watching dean do things he's good at.

at first there's the moment of confusion of "no, they can't be doing that, mary. you're reading into it" and then she watches as sam slips his thigh between deans legs and grinds against him, his kisses moving across dean's jaw. and she's sick, she feels like she's going to pass out, everything's spinning, she's flashing between hot and cold, because this is ANOTHER way in which she failed to get her family out of "the life"

it's just like her cousins, just like the way the whole campbell family is so insular. and she'd gotten out. she died out. and she came back to them being SO VERY THE OPPOSITE OF OUT, and her hopes are so utterly dashed that "maybe they got out of the life" that it's one of the driving factors of her going "i can't be here with them. i gotta go"

Finally I can draw my favorite OTP TwT

The story about the relationship between them is kinda long but I have tried my best to shorten it, so here it is:

• Long before they became lovers...Emily and Edward were just best friends. And at that time Emily had strong feelings for Thomas, she did everything she could to convey her feelings to Thomas. She even competed with Rosie, who at that time also liked him.

• But as time went by, Emily found out that Thomas actually liked another woman (That was Lady). And because she's tired of competing just for unrequited love...Emily decided to give up and let Rosie, who still didn't give up on her feelings (Rosie still didn't know that Thomas liked Lady at that time)

• She maybe looked fine but actually she still felt heartbroken until one day Edward noticed that Emily looked different from usual and asked if she was okay. And because Emily thought she could trust her best friend, she told Edward everything that happened. Edward listened carefully and let Emily pour out everything that was in her heart.

• After all that, whenever Emily was having a bad day she always took the time to meet Edward and tell him everything (That's because he is a good secret keeper). Of course Edward didn't mind listening to her, he even always tried to make Emily tough again and sometimes gave her advice if she needed it.

• They're slowly became closer and were seen together more often than before. Until Emily realized that she felt comfortable whenever she was with Edward. (Can't blame her...He's kind, gentle, wise, a good listener, and has a sweet smile). Emily quickly realized that she was now in love with him, unwilling to fail like before. Emily decides to be more confident and confesses her feelings to Edward. Didn't care about the fact that Edward was older than her and probably wasn't interested in a romantic relationship like that.

• And yeah...It wasn't easy for Emily because Edward always rejected her. Not because he didn't like her. But Edward wasn't sure whether Emily really had feelings for him, He always thought. "Why did she choose to like an ordinary guy like me when there are many guys who are much younger and handsome out there?"

• When he asked Emily about that. She said, "It's because I can...I feel comfortable whenever I'm with you and I like everything about you! It's okay if you still reject me today, there's still tomorrow and you have to know that I won't give up this time."

That answer actually made Edward quite surprised, he didn't expect that Emily would be really serious about that.

• As time goes by. Emily really didn't give up until finally Edward started to feel the same way and decided to accept Emily's feelings.

• At the beginning of their relationship, they were both a little awkward and their relationship also has to go through many challenges...Their age difference that makes it difficult for them to get along with each other, Edward doesn't seem very good at understanding women, Have different ideas about how a date can go well, Emily always decided something without listening to Edward's opinion first, People commenting about their relationship....Actually there are still many other things, but fortunately they both always learn from their mistakes, they can get through it all with good communicating and being open to each other.

Okay...Now let's talk about their dynamics:

• Every week, Edward would come to see Emily and give her a bouquet of flowers. A simple classic gift but Emily always looks forward to it every week because she really likes flowers, especially if they are from her boyfriend.

• Sometimes Emily tries to tease Edward, hoping to see him blush and be embarrassed, but Edward often doesn't understand and misunderstands that. So it turned out to be difficult for Emily because she had to explain it to him.

• Bossy big sister figure who talks a lot x Calm big brother figure who listens more often

• They're usually always hang out somewhere after work just to tell each other about their day. Sometimes they also gossip about the trouble that Tidmoud bois had caused that day.

• Emily is one of the lucky person besides Thomas, James, and Percy who knows that Edward is very skilled at singing and playing violin. Of course since she was his girlfriend, Edward wouldn't mind playing music for Emily as long as no one else saw it. (Edward still feels insecure about his skills even though there are 4 people have said he is talented)

• They acted more like a pair of besties than a pair of lovers...But that wasn't a bad thing because they can got along with each other well.

• There is a funfact...Toby was the person who helped them both when they first started dating, so sometimes Emily and Edward would also ask....or maybe...force Toby to come out with them.

Myths of the Realm Part 2

After my guess on the first 4 of the twelve was pretty much correct I wanted to make a part two, now that the new trailer is out. so here we go again...

So first we see the woman in the middle and than it switches to a view with all five we get to see in the trailer (two of them we can see only the hand and a spear for now). I want to start with the guy on the right.

This is Althyk, the Keeper, the surveyor of change and god of space and time. He commands the element of earth and his symbol is the hourglass which we can see on his shoulder cape pyramid things. He is depicted as an emperor wielding a greataxe. He is the father of Azeyma and Menphina, and elder brother to Nymeia. Who comes next.

This is Nymeia the spinner, the watcher of celestial bodies and goddess of fate. She commands the element of water and is depicted as a weaver wearing a white silken veil. Her symbol is the spinning wheel. She is the younger sister of Althyk, and the master of Rhalgr.

Here on the left side of the picture we have Nymeia and Althyk (on a horse) together. It seems we fight them together.

Sadly we don’t get a good look at the next one who is Nophica, the matron, tender of soils and harvests and goddess of abundance. She also commands the element of earth. She is depicted as a farmer holding a scythe, and her symbol is the spring leaf. Nophica is the Daughter of Azeyma, younger sister of Llymlaen, and the rival of Halone. Nophica is also the patron of Gridania.

Next we have this little cute bean and I could not be happier with her design. I love her so much and I can’t wait to see her together with Oschon. My true otp among the twelve.

She is my favorit among the twelve. This is Menphina, the Lover, keeper of the moon (formerly two moons) and the goddess of love. She commands the element of ice. She is depicted as a maid carrying a round skillet. Her symbol is the full greater moon. Menphina is the younger sister of Azeyma, and the divine lover of Oschon.

Next we have (and might I add she looks stunning, kinda reminds me of Melania with her helmet) Halone the Fury, mover of glaciers and goddess of war. She commands the element of ice and is depicted as a relentless warrior holding a bronze greatshield, and her symbol is three spears. Halone is the patron of the Holy See of Ishgard, and is bitter rivals with Nophica.

For the last Part of Myths of the Realm we still have Thaliak, Llylaen and Oschon left to meet. (can’t wait to meet Oschon maybe he realy is somhow linked to Deryk)

Hartley Rathaway for the character ask?

1: sexuality headcanon

Gay, as per his canon sexuality. But very non-gate-keeper-y. If his boyfriend turns out to not always a boy (as I sometimes like to play with Cisco and Barry's genders and they are also my two favorites to ship Hartley with...) he's still super gay for that person.

5: first headcanon that pops into my head

Jerrie's first word was Hartley's name. She didn't start talking until late, so she actually was able to do a pretty decent approximation for her first try. Still didn't quite have the H sound yet, but her big brother was her favorite even then so of course she wanted to say his name, get his attention.

Hartley was the most delighted big brother ever and would not shut up about it at school all week.

6: favorite line from this character

I realize you don't have to explain your hiring decisions to me, but maybe for the sake of a fun exercise, we could pretend you did.

So while yes, this is Hartley being a dick about Cisco, there's actually a lot to unpack about this dialog.

Hartley's talking like this *to his boss* which tells us how comfortable Hartley is with Eowells. He plays chess with him, has Latin as a sort of secret language between them, and he demands to be treated as an equal even while acknowledging they technically aren't. (It is with good reason that I so often have Eowells/Hartley as backstory...)

But also, Hartley is not pleased with Cisco's hiring. And while Hartley clearly disapproves of Cisco's clothing choices, it kind of comes off as a focus point for everything else going on when it gets brought up. Cisco is a fresh-out-of-college hire and his clothes make that *extremely* obvious. But Hartley is specifically calling into question here - in private, which is actually the one (only) way Hartley does actually manage to behave professionally in regards to Cisco in the flashbacks - if Cisco is qualified for the job which... makes me suspect that Cisco probably wasn't, based solely on job experience.

I suspect Eowells was just so eager to hire Cisco that he hired him for a job that was intended for a more senior engineer. Or at least a junior one with a couple years of experience under their belt. Not a college grad who may or may not even have some of the certifications needed for the position. TBH, Hartley takes his anger out on Eowells in the 'present' portion of The Sound and the Fury on Barry so it really makes sense to me that Hartley's bad behavior in the past towards Cisco was also Hartley misdirecting his frustration with Eowells onto a more convenient target. Part jealousy because Eowells is looking favorably (and fanboying a bit, let's be real) over Cisco (future superhero Vibe and Eowells gets to mentor him? how could he help but fanboy?) and that's how Hartley's relationship with Eowells began too... but also Eowells hired someone who pretty clearly does not fit the job description.

Obviously canon never supports this little pet theory of mine and it's entirely born of a more forgiving interpretation of this line of dialog from the episode but... I do really like the interpretation because it makes Hartley a bit more sympathetic without excusing his bad behavior towards Cisco. And it establishes parallels between his past and present behavior.

7: one way in which I relate to this character

Honestly Hartley and I don't have a whole lot in common. I latched on to him because he's such an interesting and canonically gay character and the more I learned about his comics incarnation the more I liked the character.

I definitely relate to his queerness though. I may not be a gay dude - aroace and only sometimes a girl (though always a girl when its funny, gotta commit to the bit) - and it's kinda hard to explain how I feel I relate to his queerness but... I really do.

8: thing that gives me second hand embarrassment about this character

Every time he's a classist dick towards Cisco in S1. Way to misunderstand the character, show writers. *wincing painfully* Did they even read any of the stuff with Hartley in it? Guy who stands up, even to the Flash, on behalf of the homeless people of Central City...

Not that I don't still lean into that trait sometimes when writing fanfic so I can then have him grow out of it, but still. Makes me cringe a little inside every time.

9: cinnamon roll or problematic fave?

Cinnamon roll - sure he's got a checkered past, but his heart's always in the right place. He just wants to help people, make the world a better place, and abolish the police. Even if his comics self is dating/engaged to a CSI.

The day that you’ve been dreading had come too quick for your liking. You boys — your babies were standing in front of you, backpacks on their shoulders as they get ready to leave their parents sight for eight hours. 

You tried to keep it together but when your precious Santino, clung on to your leg, you couldn’t hold on any longer.  The tears start wet his chubby little cheeks it took everything in you to not snatch him up and put him back in the car. 

“No wanna go mama,” his trembling voice tearing you apart. 

But your big guy, Salvatore was just like his father, nothing could scare him. He pulled lightly on this brother’s backpack, giving him a small smile, “Come on Fratello (brother)!” 

Santino clung harder, choosing to make your leg his home, “No! Wanna go home wiff mama!”

Oh how you wanted him to…

“Figlio (Son)…,” Steve’s soft voice coming from behind you. He only used that voice for you and his boys. But as you look up at your husband, you can see his cheeks tinged with pink and a unspoken glassiness to his eyes. 

Steve lowers to Santino’s height, staring back at the spitting image of him. He didn’t want to say it or even show but… This was ruining him in the worst way possible. 

He wanted nothing more than to scoop both his boys up and take them home. They were growing up too damn fast for his liking. 

Steve still remembers the day that you two brought them home. He wanted to go back to that day so bad. 

Santino’s eyes that match with Steve’s look at this father, his fingers still clutching onto yours. His lips tremble at Steve, wanting nothing more than to forget school altogether. 

Salvatore looks on at the interaction, bouncing on his feet as he watches the many kids enter the school. “Come onnnn we’re gonna be late!” 

“Shh, you’ll get there prince,” you assure him, passing your hand over his hair to smooth it.

“But I wanna go now!” he shouts, stamping his foot on the hard concrete.

Steve glances over at his little spitfire, a small mighty version of him, “Mind your mama, Sal. You don’t raise your voice, understand?” 

“Yes Papà,” sighing as he looks down at the ground. 

Steve reaches out to softly bring Salvatore over with his brother as he looks them both in the eyes, “Are the Rogers scared of anything?

Both boys look at Steve and shake their head from side to side. 

“I know it’s… scary to do new things. Trust me, the day you two were born, my whole life flashed before my eyes. But it all worked out right?”

Salvatore and Santino shake their heads, your precious boy’s hands loosening its grip. 

“Santino bambino, no matter what, you are going to be fine. Wanna know why?”

“Why Papà?” his voice filled with wonder. 

Steve gave him a soft smirk, keeping his eyes on his son, “Because you’re a Rogers, Figlio. We’ll always be fine. Just like your Fratello. Have each other’s back and no one can touch you okay?”

Salvatore puffs out his little chest with pride, “Got it Papà!” 

Steve chuckles, lightly ruffling his son’s hair, “Atta boy! Be your brother’s keeper in there know that me and your mamà well be here when you get out.”

Santino looks up at you and then back to Steve, “You promise?”

Steve nods, “Cross my heart bambino.”

With reluctance, Santino pries himself from your leg, you leaning down to give both your boys a kiss on the cheek, “Be good… okay?” the crack in your voice evident. 

Both boys nod giving both you and Steve hugs before walking off towards the school entrance. 

With your own reluctance, you turn around ready to get in the car when you see something that you normally don’t see. 

One tear slides down Steve’s cheek and you knew then that he was keeping it together for too long. 

He doesn’t stop looking at the twins until the door closes behind him and finally his gaze is distracted by you holding his hand with yours.

“Come on…” you whisper, taking your emotional husband back to the black SUV.

The moment that the car speeds off, Steve’s head is immediately in your lap as he lets out a huge breath. 

Your hand slides over his scalp, making him relax with your touch, “S’ not fair Pippi… They were supposed to stay babies.” 

You let out a watery laugh, “I know daddy. Still see them as those two tiny newborns that we brought home.”

The ride was silent as you two reminisced on the younger boys. Life wasn’t fair and you boys growing up was the most unfair thing in the world.

“….. I want more Pippi.” 

You look down at Steve, with a furrowed brow, “More what?”

“Babies. Gimme more babies Pippi.”

As if he had to ask…

Thank you <3 I feel like I'm just going to repeat all the things I've already said about them in various other places but, whoa-kay, let's go!

002 | Give me a character: FENRIS

How I feel about this character: Ugh, god. Best boy in the whole series. I relate a lot to his feelings of betrayal, his fear of vulnerability, the obsession with his own capacity for evil, and his everpresent need to rationalise and overthink to try to justify or curtail the needs propelling his behaviour. And outside of me, I think his capcity to be adoring and gushy with the people he loves is very endearing. He’s also imo the companion who has the best visible character growth arc in the series. It’s so lovely watching him come into his own identity over his time in Kirkwall, and I love seeing how he changes between the three acts of the game &lt;3

All the people I ship romantically with this character: Anders. Justice. Isabela. Merrill, kinda. In the unlikely circumstance that she gets to do something fucked up enough in the name of protecting him to give him a boner. Hawke, when Hawke looks and behaves in ways that are nothing like actual canon Hawke. (Rant incoming.) Aveline and Donnic, maybe? I feel like I haven’t figured out a way to make it work that’s not just him being their exotic unicorn which makes me want to punch them both (hope you understand) so I can’t actually justify this one. Velanna would be funny too. I have the need to see it happen.

My non-romantic OTP for this character: Merrill. God, she is just- a friggin hilariously awful troll to him in canon and I always wanna take it further. Her talking down to this amnesiac, making excuses for the fact that her little brother elf is very stupid ‘forgive him! he only has seven years of life experience to draw from!’ In a terrible, awful, and funny way, I think Merrill having this connection to another elf she can relieve some of this First to the Keeper condescention onto is nice for her. And Fenris having an elf blood mage in his life that the last thing he needs to do is try to protect or even be nice to is nice for him. They’re both great. Five stars.

My unpopular opinion about this character: He’s got the worst canon romance in the whole game. (Rant incoming.) But within the worst canon romance of the whole game, he has the best scene for helping Hawke grieve Leandra. Idk, I’ve been in Hawke’s shoes there, and I wish I’d had someone like Fenris with me. Who knew there was nothing to say to make it better, but was willing to be there regardless.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: (Rant) Literally any overt textual acknowledgement anywhere that Fenris has made Hawke the outlet for his conditioning with Danarius - following Hawke around to protect him, killing people on Hawke’s command, wearing the Amell coat of arms in the romance, voicing his love for Hawke in the terms of possessive ownership (‘I am yours’), and showing unwavering devotion in the midst of the people around them saying dehumanising racist things about Fenris that Hawke makes absolutely no efforts to stop (ie. Carver calling Fenris Hawke’s ‘pet elf’ in the combat commands). Literally any overt acknowledgement that Hawke is a Hightown noble and Fenris is an elvhen foreigner and second-class citizen that relies on Hawke’s goodwill for immediate physical protection against slave hunters. Literally any overt acknowledgement that, in the fenhawke romance scene, Hawke decided that Fenris impulsively kissing them, directly after Fenris faced down his abuser and learned he had a sister, was an invitation for both pinning Fenris against a wall and any sex that followed after. Literally any overt acknowledgement that this is a completely unreasonable situation to expect someone with a history of abuse and slavery and child grooming be comfortable flexing their own agency and right to not consent to sex. Except perhaps after it’s already happened, which is when Fenris finally does so. I don’t know - I don’t even fully blame Hawke for not understanding some of this but... Man, I want Fenris to get ANGRY about some of it. I think he should go a little feral. I want him to unapologetically do more things that aren’t in Hawke’s best interests, but his own. Maybe unapologetically do some things in his own best interests that screw Hawke over entirely.

my OTP: Ugh, yeah, it’s fenders. And I hate saying that right after I’ve gone on that (Rant) up there ^ because I feel like it definitely makes me look like bitchy ship war trash. I swear it’s not like that! (I’m not sure I’d believe me either) Anyhow, yeah, disclaimer is I know Anders is a racist no-boundaries asshole menace. And I think any portrayal of this relationship worth a damn has Anders dial back the aggression and at least tacitly acknowledging that it’s unfair to ask Fenris to take up mage liberation as his cause. But, man, they want so much of the same things out of a realtionship. Like, a connection that fulfills their every cathartic desire for family and domesticity and safety - the safety to be just unreservedly gushy and devoted and adoring with their partner and ‘I’d commit attrocities for you’. They are both sooo intense in their romance scenes. It is TOO MUCH. Too much for anyone but one another, I mean. They should try fucking that out with one another. Also, like, nice tasty foils goodness of two ex-slaves with WILDLY different experiences of it. I think what gets me about Fenris is that he’s clearly internalised a lot of apologist rhethoric about his own slavery. Like the idea that someone sufficiently dangerous should be enslaved for the safety of others. Which you know is something that people in Tevinter said about him, Mr LyriumWolf BioWeapon. I think Fenris is quick to project this POV onto Anders and, in the moments when Anders makes these angry comments about how Fenris is a violent monster, I feel like you can hear Fenris bracing for the conclusion that he thus does not deserve to be free or deserve Hawke et al’s help fighting off his would-be captors. Because I don’t think he has the self-confidence and rhethoric to really argue against that. But, like, even if he’ll talk a lot of smack about Fenris in other ways, this just isn’t somewhere that Anders is going to take things. Because Anders believes that there are inherent rights to being a person and violences nobody deserves. And this is also something Anders has had the self-assuredness and presence of mind to argue for himself and other mages, even when the entire rest of the world is working against him. And that’s something about Anders that I think in the right circumstances that Fenris could be a little awed by and take inspiration from. A little more willingness to burden others with his problems, and to believe in and advocate for himself - that he deserves better, and that he deserved better even when he was at his worst. That’s what the ship is about for me.

my cross over ship: I got nothing.

a headcanon fact: I seem to have a lot of opinions about the books he likes to read. He likes reading nonfiction, history and economics and architecture. And also poetry. He does not like Varric’s pulp novels, lol.

002 | Give me a character: MERRILL

How I feel about this character: Ugh, god. Best girl in the whole series. I love how sweet and thoughtful she can be, and how she’ll extend goodwill towards the other companions at their lowest even when they obstinately haven’t done much to ‘deserve’ it from her. But it’s the moments when she’s not being sweet at all that that I really start to love her. Like, the way she’ll bait people like Aveline and Sebastian and Anders and Fenris with these ‘innocent’ questions that are so brimming with passive-aggressive missle-guided criticism (Asking Aveline why she doesn’t arrest them, and whether Aveline’s a bad guard, and watching Aveline get defensive about it, is one example of many that come to mind.) She’s just very cutting and insightful in all the right moments. And... even though I don’t feel like I agree with the general dogma of the game about blood magic, I do think through that conflict they captured Merrill’s own inability to accept critique well. I think it’s something you see a lot in people with a history of emotional abuse like Merrill, where she’s been criticised so much for anything she tries to do, that she’s just become completely unable to engage with any well-intentioned critique anymore, so she gets very withdrawn and stubborn instead. This is actually the last section of the meme I’m filling out and I’m a bit out of steam. I don’t feel like I really did best girl justice with this description but WRAAAAGH- Know that I love her to pieces.

All the people I ship romantically with this character: Anders. Hawke. I realise that Hawke is pretty patronising and paternalistic with her in the canon romance, and I’m not sure I can even say it’s less exploitative than fenhawke up there ^  But she is the character that I tend to come around on wanting to romance as Hawke most. Hopefully I find ways to make it work that aren’t, well, upsetting. Fenris, kinda. And Isabela, kinda. As described up there ^ and in the Isabela ask here, respectively. Bethany/Merrill seems cute enough. Carver/Merrill interests me too, but only really in specific circumstances. I feel like the appeal of the ship is them both having inferiority complexes out the wazoo, and all this baggage about their families and not being taken seriously. And then they both come together to act this out on one another and ultimately work past it. Also farmboy hick Carver really projecting the idea of Merrill being this innocent, naive, out-of-her-depth sweet Madonna that knows even less about the world than he does - and then getting slapped with the fact that there are a lot of assumptions he’s making there as a man and a human that are wildly offbase. Haha, get wrecked, Carver! Also Aveline, kinda? It’s hard for me to wholly imagine going much of anywhere without Isabela between them (also because, you know, the Guard’s violences against the Alienage) but I think their friendship is underrated. They have a lot of cute and snazzy banters. I like the one from Mark of the Assassin where Merrill says they should get matching costumes and be crime-fighting partners together. Morrigan, in an angry ‘fuck you shem Eluvian stealer’ way. Dagna, in a ‘magic researchers and science nerds’ way. Pol, in an ‘evil arachnophobia horror’ way. Audacity, in an ‘awful incel tries to posess your mom when you reject him’ way. I have written a LOT of Merrill ships at this point.

My non-romantic OTP for this character: Fenris. As per the above response in his section. That said, Fenris actually imo says the worst and cruellest thing anyone says in the whole game, to Merrill. Anders definitely takes the next 4+ spots on the Worst Things These Characters Have Said to One Another List, but #1 for me is definitely Fenris calling Merrill a monster in the immediate aftermath of Pol’s death. What a dick (affectionate).

My unpopular opinion about this character: She is a person capable of evil. That’s what having agency and power are - the capability to do good and evil. That does not mean I think it’s a power that she shouldn’t have and shouldn't cultivate, quite the opposite. So I need more fic about Merrill being sexy and evil (and also taking it up the butt).

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: It’s a shame Merrill’s quests are really so much Dalish infighting. I wish we could have had more information about her actual goals. What she is trying to accomplish with the Eluvian and her work in the Alienage. In her banters we see some pretty scathing opinions about humans and their culture. And I think any work she does organising and helping Alienage elves is ultimately going to be pretty violent and revolutionary, knowing the kind of disenfranchised that Alienage elves are, and knowing Merrill’s own skillset for helping is, um, highly specialised (murder, blood magic, crafting, and more murder). It’s extra disappointing knowing that Justice & Velanna were the original plan for DA2 instead of Justice & Anders. I wish we could have seen Dalish issues be given the kind of weighty treatment that mage issues ended up getting. But, idk... I feel like Trespasser went more in that direction and then just used it to shit all over indiginous cultures so... :/

my OTP: Merders, or Anders/Merrill. I wrote a post once about how I felt these two characters were far more similar than the game wanted to allow, and how I didn’t feel the game gave proper weight to Andrastian Chantry Imperialism as the base cause for both the mage and Dalish genocides. Those are still the ideas I like being at the centre of Anders and Merrill’s relationship. A lot of the vibes from Act 3 in the game are when I really start to feel this relationship because, like- they’re both at that point struggling with the fact that they’ve made huge sacrifices and concessions to seeing through their goals, and neither are sure that they can actually accomplish those goals anymore, and neither really feels like they can be dogmatically assured that they alone are correct or that the ends don’t justify the means they have each chosen. And I like how she seems a bit in awe of his determination and resillience in spite of that. Also Merrill’s nonreaction to TLS, lol. Going off what I said about Chantry Imperialism - I think of all the companions, Merrill easily has the most reason to want to see Anders wipe the Kirkwall Chantry off the face of the damned map. On a more personal note, I like exploring the kind of condescending protectiveness that Anders feels towards Merrill as another mage, and how Merrill both invites this and rejects this at different points, as it reminds her of Marethari’s controlling/sabotaging protectiveness. And also I like when Anders is a racist asshole and harangues Merrill about her differing cultural ideas about things like blood magic, and then she smacks back and slaps him with her own aggressions. Idk, so many of the companions she’s different levels of complacent with when they talk down to her or belittle her. I just kinda love that Anders gets her riled up enough to smack back.

my cross over ship: I don’t think I have one.

a headcanon fact: I don’t headcanon the mage characters actually walking around Kirkwall with staffs most of the time. I think for Anders just casting with his hands works best, both because it kinda plays up the feral abomination angle, and because I think him needing to get his hands on everything suits his boundary issues. For Merrill I imagine her weapon/casting focus of choice being an obsidian knife from her clan. It keeps showing up in all the fics I write about her :’)

Synopsis/Headcanon As a teenager, Bryce left little notes in Keiki's lunchbox for Kindergarten because their parents couldn't be bothered. Bryce tried to pretend it was from their parents but Keiki always knew. When he leaves for college, he leaves a stack of notes and asks their house keeper to keep up the tradition. Eventually the notes run out and it's just one more reminder that Bryce is gone. Fast forward several years to when Keiki moves in with Bryce in Boston, he picks it back up. Keiki rolls her eyes and makes fun of him for being cheesy but they both secretly love it.

I love this story so much, I just need to write more than 3 lines 😭😭😭😭

Olivia, hands down Olivia. Bryce is not a chef or a baker. He basically is just a distraction in the kitchen, a beautiful distraction, but one that leads to burnt food. Olivia does try to teach him and he does get better, but he's much better at cleaning up and washing dishes.

23: Who comes up with cheesy pick up lines?

Olivia. She is a dork but she owns it and is precious and adorable. She will make the cheesiest thing sound so cute that Bryce just melts and shakes his head, realizing how smitten he is with her. Those lines on anyone else and he would have walked away, but her, she just makes them sound perfect.

Definitely Bryce! He loves to be a tease, but Olivia isn't opposed to it as well. But for her it's much more rare and less of an inappropriate time

A/N: Some good parenting awaits you in this chapter. Also I like to think that as a show of Solidarity the brothers all took Lucifer’s last name as well.

As he sits on one of the rooftops, Aurelius scrolls through his phone. He knew it would be only a matter of time before his sister found him and sure, while she wouldn’t actually kill him, the half-demon was more than likely going to end up coming out of this with a few scratches and bruises, maybe a broken wing. He doesn’t get what the big deal is. They both clearly liked each other so why not confess already? Or could his sister just be that dense that she doesn’t notice Max’s very obvious hints. It would be to all of their benefit. Those two would end up happy and he would have to stop hearing Zulima gush about how Max and Azalea were her OTP all the time. In fact, this had been her idea all along. Aurelius just went along because he really had nothing better to do with his time and he always found it amusing when his older twin ended up all flustered like she does when asked about her feelings for the human.

If Azalea was going to find him anyway and delete the audio herself, he might as well cause a little more havoc, right? If she’s not going to admit her feelings, he’ll do it for her. Moving to the messaging app, Aurelius clicks on Max’s icon and sends the audio he’d taken earlier. It takes about five minutes for her to respond back to him.

Chat: ‘Zelia’s Keeper

Max: I see so you took some kind of audio she doesn’t want heard. This is why Azalea’s so upset. Well dinner’s done. When are you coming home?

Aurelius: ‘Zay’s not out looking for me still?

Max: Cyrus ended up dragging her back her from the shopping district and then calling your parents when she locked herself in her room and refused to come out. Expect a call from your mother. You’re apparently in very hot water right now.

Aurelius: That traitor! I can’t believe he ratted me out to mum and dad.

And just as he got another text from Max, who should call but his mother. At least it wasn’t his father- he didn’t really want to have his ear yelled off at right now.

“Mum.... hi.... to what do I owe the honor.” Aurelius answers sweetly. He knows he’s her favorite- or at least he likes to think that anyway.

“You know exactly why I’m phoning you, young man. Where are you?” Arella sighs. It feels like every other day she or Mammon has to do this because one child was picking on the other for whatever reason.

“Uhhhhh,” Where exactly was he again? He wasn’t too far off from Majolish, he knows that much. “On a rooftop... somewhere.”

“Come home. Immediately.”

“Home as in the dorm or...?”

“Yes, the dorm. Well, actually yes to both.” Arella huffed. “You're going to pack up your uniforms and you’re moving back home with us. Your father and I are very aggravated with you, right now.”

“Wha- Mum, that’s not fair! This was Zulima’s idea! Why am I getting punished?!”

“You willingly went along with it, Aurelius. Your father and I have given the two of you enough chances and enough warnings already. If this had been caused by your sister, she would be the one moving back home right now. How many times have we told the both of you to stop picking on each other? We told the both of you that if you didn’t shape up and prove that you could handle living on your own here at the dorm, then you would be moving back home. This is a privilege, not a right. Now come back here this instant before dad has to come looking for you.”

“Fine...” The teen puffs out his cheeks and takes off for the House of Lamentation.

“I don’t get why he would trick me into something like that, Dad.” Azalea mumbles as she leans against Mammon’s shoulder, eyes still wet with tears. “He’s my brother- we’re s’pposed to be on the same team and he just went and stabbed me in the back like that?”

“I don’t know, ‘Zay.” He sighed, “But who knows, maybe this will work out in your benefit instead.”

“Yeah right,” She scoffs, “I don’t see how.”

“Max could feel the same way. I know you’re worried about this right now, but it’s all gonna blow over eventually. And that’s if Aurelius sent it ta her in the first place. He might not have and your Ma and I will make sure it gets deleted.”

“Yeah but-”

“There’s no point stressin’ over ifs, Kiddo. It sucks right now, but speaking from personal experience, sometimes the best things come outta stuff like this.”

“What do ya mean?” Azalea looked up at Mammon curiously.

“I was scared ta admit my feelings to your Ma too. And honestly the only reason we even got together in the first place was ‘cuz Uncle Asmo tricked me inta sayin’ it without me knowin’ she was listenin’.” The demon chuckles, “If Uncle Lucifer and your Ma weren’t there ta stop me, I think I would have killed him the moment I realized I’d walked into a trap like that. I felt the same sense of betrayal you’re feelin’ back then too. And look where the two of us are now- four kids and we’re still happily married after fourteen years. Ya don’t see that very often here in the Devildom, ya know- or even in the mortal realm, for that matter. I still can’t figure out what she sees in me.”

“Mum says you were a big jerk to her when ya first met so it makes me wonder too about how ya both got to this point.”

“She’s definitely not wrong. We hated each other for those first couple days after she arrived here on the exchange program- we fought nearly constantly but that’s more a story for another time. C’mon, let’s go, my little magpie. Ya haven’t had dinner yet so ya gotta be starving, right?”

“Yeah,” Azalea sighed as she got up.

“Grab your walking cane, kiddo. You’ve already run into enough things, ya don’t need ta run into anything else.”

“Daaaaad, I don’t wanna. It feels weird to have ta use it. ‘Sides I still got one eye left so it's not like I need ta be completely reliant on the damn thing.”

“The more you use it, the less weird it’ll feel.” Since he figured she wasn’t going to grab it herself, Mammon grabbed it the silver-colored cane and handed it to her. “I want ya to try holdin’ it in your left hand and see if that feels more natural for ya.”

“Fine...” Azalea let out a grumble in protest before taking the cane. “I don’t need it though.”

“Yes, you do. Use it, young lady.” Mammon says sternly. “Now, up the stairs.”

“I’d rather jump.”

“You’re gonna hurt yourself that way one of these days. I don’t want you doin’ that anymore. Ya need ta learn how ta walk up and down the stairs properly.” He can tell she’s nervous about climbing the stairs while not being able to orient her right foot in a way so she wouldn’t slip. “I’ll be right behind ya ta catch ya if ya slip. It’ll be okay, I promise. Just lead with your left side.”

She nods taking a careful step up on to the first step. One by one she climbed the step with only a few missteps on the right side. As she neared the top of the staircase, she hadn’t put her right foot out far enough and slipped forward, letting out a small shriek as she dropped her cane underneath the staircase and clutching onto Mammon’s jacket for dear life as he caught her.

“I can’t do this! I don’t wanna do this. I’m gonna fall.”

“I’ve got ya. You’re alright. Look, ya only got a couple steps ta go. Just take it slowly. You can do this, Princess, I’m not gonna let you fall.” He says as he stood her back up.

“I dropped that stupid cane.”

“I’ll get it for ya. Let’s just get ta the top of the stairs first, ‘kay?”

“Mhm,” Azalea nods as they continue their way up. As they finally made it to the top, she let him go and he went back down to grab the cane from beneath the staircase.

“Ya did a good job, ‘Zay. I’m proud of you. This is gonna get easier and in a couple months you’ll be a master at it.” He tries to boost her mood but she doesn’t seem to cheer up like she usually does.

It’s been six months, Dad. When does it get easier?! There’s no reason I shouldn’t be able ta climb a fuckin’ flight of stairs on my own!” She wiped at the one good eye she still had left. “I feel like I’m a toddler again just learning how to do everything for the first time and all I did was lose an eye! I can’t even walk straight without running into a wall or a door or a lamp post. I’m the laughing stock of the school. Other students will regularly catch me off guard and shove me around the halls at school. I can’t go a day without hearing ‘Oh how the mighty have fallen’ comments. It’s so stupid and I just want to go back to normal! So tell me, when does it get easier, old man, cuz I wanna know!” Azalea slid down against the wall, curling up into a ball as she sobbed. “I just wanna go back to normal.”

Mammon frowned, moving to sit next to his daughter, pulling her into a hug and wiping away her tears. “I know this is hard for you and you have every right to feel this way. I’m so sorry we couldn’t save your eye and I wish so badly that we could go back and undo it all. I can’t tell you when exactly it’ll get better. All of that depends on you, Baby. You have to use all the tools that’ve been made available to you- that includes this cane. Mom and I can only support you as you go on but you have to want it.”

Azalea only nods as they get up, leaving her room for the time being.

As Aurelius makes his way through the front door, he spies his cousin who was getting a scolding of her own from Solomon. The half-demon made his presence known since he needed to find his mother.

“Uncle Solomon, do you know where Mum is?”

“Aurelius, so nice of you to make your way home three hours after your mother called you. She’s up in your room waiting for you. Originally, she’d thought you’d snuck in to avoid getting scolded so she’ll be even more pleased to find out you just took your sweet time in getting here.” The sorcerer turns his attention back to his daughter. “Now, as I was saying, Zulima, your father and I are so incredibly disappointed with you. How many times have we asked you not to meddle in your cousin’s love life?”

“Fifty over the past year,” The future Avatar of Lust looks down at her feet in shame. “I just wanted to give them both a little push... It’s painful watching them play this will they, won’t they game when I can see how high their compatibility score is... I just couldn’t do it anymore.”

“Zulima, you cannot just force two people to admit their feelings to each other. That has to be up to them. You’re grounded. Give me your D.D.D.”

“Dad! -”

“I don’t want to hear it right now, Young Lady. Your father will decide how long you stay grounded for, but you are not to leave this house except for school. There will be no DevilTube or Devilgram for you either. Am I understood?”

Zulima only nods as she hands over her phone.

Aurelius didn’t stay too much longer. He knew how much trouble he would be in and his mother was not someone who you wanted angry with you. He’d only seen her get angry once and it wasn’t a pleasant experience. He’d better not keep her waiting much longer.

As he entered his room, he could hear Arella moving around- likely packing up his uniforms for him. He couldn’t smell either of his brothers around the house or in his room so he figured Cyrus must have taken Mahlon home a while back.

“Ah, you’re finally home.” His mother calls once she notices her son standing in the doorway. “Your bags are already packed. I needed something to do since you seem to think when I say immediately, that I actually mean what?” She looks down at the time on her phone. “Three bloody hours later?! Aurelius Morningstar, do you know how much more trouble you’re in now?”

“Tons...” The boy hangs his head. “Sorry, Mum. Are you mad at me?”

“No. Extremely disappointed and aggravated with you, yes, but not mad.” The human sighs as she takes a seat on his bed, rubbing her eyes. “Why? Why would you do this? I know it was your cousin’s idea but why in the Devildom would you go along with it?”

“I don’t know. I was bored, I guess.” And that’s the best excuse he can come up with.

“Because you were bored... I see. Well, sorry to burst your bubble, but that’s not an acceptable answer. Not only will you be moving back home for the rest of next term- maybe longer if Dad and I feel you’re not ready to come back yet- but you’re grounded for the next three months- a month for each hour you were late. No telly, no game consoles, no phone, and definitely no photoshoots. The only place you will be going is to and from school and your father or I will be driving you to school and picking you up as well to ensure you actually stick to it.”

“What!? Mum that’s not fair! This is cruel and unusual punishment for something that wasn’t even my idea to begin with!”

“Would you like to make it four, Aurelius? Because I certainly can make it four. Your sister is in tears over this little stunt. How would you like it if the shoe was on the other foot? If it were you instead of her?”

“Not very much...” He turns his gaze to the floorboards. “I really am sorry...”

“Then apologize to your sister before we leave. She’s down in the kitchen right now having dinner. While you’re there, have Dad reheat dinner for you since you missed it earlier. Let this teach you a lesson.”

The boy only nodded as he headed downstairs. On the way, he stopped to see Max.

“Hey...”

“Hey, yourself,” the human hums.

“You didn’t listen to that clip I sent you earlier, did you?”

“No, I deleted it after we got done texting,” Max gets up and slides her book back in the book case. “I don’t know why, but I seem to have way more respect for your sister than either of you do. a character I just can’t sympathize with: Elena Gilbert (She kills more people with her brother in mere seconds than the whole Mikaelson family in ten centuries and we’re still supposed to think she's a good person. I say no)

a character I grew to love: Damon Salvatore (Okay love is a strong word, i don’t love him, i like him only in select episodes of season 6 when he’s with Bonnie. And fanfiction when he's with Bonnie. Really i only have emotion for him when he's with Bonnie, because he’s only a decent person when he's with Bonnie. And i can never forgive him for what he did to Caroline.)

my anti otp: Steroline (There is no other answer to this question. These two are toxic, stupid, boring, bland, and bloody fucking annoying. Not to mention Stefan somehow hinders Caroline more than Tyler and Matt combined. And to top it all off the only reason this is a ship is because Stefan needed a love interest. if you’re going to turn best friends to lovers, they have to be better as lovers and Steroline sure as hell aren’t.)

To make you sad, here is a sad short fic.

Sirius was supposed to be getting drunk with James, Remus and Peter.

He was supposed to use his hands to get a piece of cake, purely just to annoy Peter.

He was supposed to have tea with Andy and her daughter.

He was supposed to have fun and be 21.

Instead he was rotting in Azkaban, singing Happy Birthday to himself. Not that he deserved to do anything he was supposed to, he killed his best mates. He killed James and Lily. If only he let them make him secret keeper, maybe they would still be alive.

Maybe.

Or maybe Sirius would betray them, he already betrayed one brother, what's another brother to betray.

Sirius was innocent of the muggle killing, he didn't rat out Lily and James, but he as good as killed them.

Happy Birthday Sirius!

Rant(Grishaverse)

Leigh Bardrugo is a horrible piece of shit, the Grishaverse makes no sense when you think of the place and time it is based on. I am younger than her and I know more about Russian names than her. She made Aleksander part of a minority, she made him also the antagonist, are his ways a little extreme, sorta, but is he in the wrong, no. He is the antagonist but he shouldn't be. The Grishaverse makes zero sense. Why would any grisha follow Alina, they should follow Aleksander. THEIR LEADER. He made a save space for grisha. A bit of context for you people who have no idea what the Grishaverse is: people who can do magic(they call it small science) are called grisha, they are a minority, in Fjerda they are burned as witches, in Shu Han they are experimented on, in Kerch they are sold into slavery, in other places they are treated just as badly, in Ravka Aleksander made the Little Palace for grisha as children, their parents do not stay with them. Aleksander can control shadows, Alina our protagonist is boring and is the sun summoner. Alina and Aleksander have chemistry but Ms. Bardrugo would pair Alina up with her toxic childhood friend Malyen Oretsov. Aleksander created the shadow fold which is great for Ravka but it also split Ravka in two, he plans on expanding the fold with Alina's help as the Sun Summoner(which has never been heard of) but Alina doesn't want to be Grisha she wants to be normal(no Grisha should follow her). Leigh has committed culture appropriation. She has made Sasha(Aleksander) the villain but he just wants what is best for the Grisha and wants them to live lives. It seems Ms. Bardrugo has never met a minority in her life, she is white, cis and straight. No minority would want to be oppressed any longer. I am a poc, genderqueer, and pansexual. I would gladly follow someone who would help me be treated as an equal to a white, cis, straight man. As society wants everyone to be white cis het males.

EDIT: It has come to my attention that Ms. Bardrugo is Jewish and based the grisha prosecution on Jewish prosecution. This makes it much worse. Why Ms. Bardrugo, why?

So. The follow button has led you to me, and now here you are with me on your dash. I assume you’re here for one to three reasons: the ffxiv content I post and reblog, my character(s), and/or the aesthetic content. Possibly also my riveting commentary on why ffxiv hasn’t added a sidebraid hairstyle yet. You’re all valid and welcome here. 

Maybe you’re curious about me and my OCs, but you don’t want to go digging through my blog and the absolute mess of tags I’ve amassed over the years. I’m here to present a half-assed solution to your curiosity instead of fixing my tags in any sort of meaningful way.

                                   WHO RUNS THIS BLOG?

I’m Alicia, I run this circus.

I’m 31 years old at the time of writing this post.

This blog is 5 going on 6 years old.

If you see @alannahcorvaine​ that blog is also me but I don’t use it anymore, as it’s a sideblog and I moved over to this blog years ago.

I’ve been playing FFXIV since 2015.

I also play Elder Scrolls Online and World of Warcraft and have separate blogs for related OCs, content, and aesthetics.

I’m a cat person but I also love dogs.

I have a five year old black cat named Kilala who keeps me in line.

I’m not much of a people person, I’m made of anxiety and paperclips.

I yell into the void a lot, the void being my blog.

I don’t really RP outside of spectacularly outstanding circumstances these days, but character and world building are my jam.

Even if I don’t RP, I’m always down for character connections and relationships. I’m totally up for brainstorming and bouncing around headcanons.

Most of the time in game you’ll find me either standing around my house or out in the world taking screenshots. My mailing address is gpose.

I have a full roster of 8 characters on Balmung, but currently only 3 are active. You’ll probably see screenshots of the others too from time to time.

                                                    THE OCs

Your first assumption on seeing my blog name is that it’s probably the name of the titular OC that this blog focuses on. You would be correct. All of my OCs have their own blogs, however I am infinitely lazy and just end up posting screenshots of everyone here because this is where the followers are and the sideblogs end up being used as aesthetic warehouses. Anywhoo, here’s some need-to-knows about Alannah.

Alannah has two main verses: Warrior of Light and Non-WoL.

Her non-WoLverse is actually the primary one, but with Shadowbringers I’ve been focusing more on her WoL story. 

I also have an infinite amount of AU verses for her based on various media but nobody has time for me to list all of those.

In both verses she’s a White Mage, a capable healer, but focuses more on offensive elemental spells (wind, water, earth).

Alannah is my only OC with a Warrior of Light verse.

She’s 23 years old.

She has severe allergies to  grass, pollen, dust, dander, and certain foods.

Her allergy reactions are largely kept at bay by a delicate chain diadem made and blessed by padjal. It also helps correct her shitty vision, magic is great.

Her deepest fears include deep water and phurbles.

She has four older brothers: Faron, Ean, Davon, and Brennan.

Family issues. Just so many family issues. That’s an entire post on its own.

Her hair is dark brown, not black. I cannot state this emphatically enough no matter what my edits look like.

The white streaks are magical scars, the cause of them vary by verse.

Non-WoL Alannah is married to Nine Outway, they have a three-year old daughter named Aislinn.

Warrior of Light Alannah (hereafter known as WoLannah) I ship exclusively with dead ghost boyfriend Ardbert.

Deep-seated anger issues buried beneath a placid and friendly exterior.

Her aether is just irreparably borked and highly chaotic and is controlled via her staff and arcane symbols painted onto her arms in aether ink.

Her childhood dream was to be a powerful thaumaturge, which didn’t work out with her aether control issues.

Born to a moderately wealthy Limsan merchant family.

2 older sisters: Pippa and Lacy.

Jacke Swallow (of rogues guild fame)  is her best friend (and secret love) since childhood.

Her entire family was murdered when she was 16 because her father made shady deals with the wrong people and owed them money.

She’s been mute since the day of the massacre after witnessing the murders while hiding in the cellar beneath their feet.

She’s been staying with Jacke and his cohorts in the Dutiful Sisters of the Edelweiss since then, though he’s the only one that knows her true identity.

A long chain of events has lead to her being kidnapped from Kugane, shipwrecked off the coast of Othard twice, sucked into a magical whirlpool, and left stranded on the First.

Will she ever get home? Perhaps, when I’ve finally decided that her ridiculous journey has been Odyssean enough.

29 years old.

An incandescent ball of unquenchable rage, probably for valid reasons.

The daughter of the khan of a minor offshoot of the Kha tribe.

Had a twin sister named Khiela, who pretended to be kidnapped by an aggressive suitor and lead Khiarna on a wild goose chase across Eorzea in an attempt to find her.

Khiela and her lover conspired to and succeeded in murdering her father.

Khiarna returned to Othard and murdered the shit out of both of them in retaliation for killing her father.

She was then unanimously chosen as her father’s successor and currently reigns as khatun to the nomadic merchant tribe.

While traveling across Eorzea in search of her errant sister, Khi was involved in a relationship with a pathological liar, which has severely damaged her ability to trust people (on top of her family drama).

Currently in a relationship with Sidirahg of the Sixth ( @sidirahg​ ), who has the patience of a saint with her issues and also might be a masochist.

Khi is a shaman and uses a mix of conjury and pugilism in combat. 

She covers her fists and feet in a solid layer of rock and then lights them on fire, using a combination of speed, flexibility, and disorienting blows to fell her opponents.
