I firmly believe andrew does nice things for people and then just lies about it.
it starts off low-key and the lies are believable or just by omission. like nicky suddenly finds the water bottle he’d been missing for months and it’s right in front of him (andrew spent a while searching all of the spots nicky usually puts things and found it pretty quickly). everyone, including nicky, presumes he was being a dumbass and it’s been there all the time.
like the time kevin finds a sports drink he really likes in the back of the maz after night practice and asks how it got there. andrew ignores him and neil just says that maybe aaron left it there?
like the time the girls want to make some cocktails with neil and educate him on “the delights of fruity alcohol” and they just happen to find most of the drinks they need already tucked in the back of the cupboard. some of them are half empty so they presume they had been there for a while (andrew had found some at the columbia house and just put them in the girls cupboard)
neil is very used to this but he doesn’t say anything or call andrew out. food that he likes appearing, new items of clothing that seemingly spawn at the back of the wardrobe, his bag making its way into the car before neil’s even realised he isn’t carrying it. it’s andrew’s low-key version of caring and neil thinks it’s sweet (not that he’d every day that aloud).
it moves on to bigger things.
andrew using a barely legal move against an opposing player after he’s been antagonising and irritating most of the team, but especially dan. the player ends up mildly injured and is taken off court. dan confronts andrew after, asking about it and andrew just claims he has no recollection of any of the events.
he’s moved beyond the silence to just straight up starts gaslight, gatekeep, girlbossing the foxes.
he literally buys nicky a pair of shoes he won’t shut up about and acts like nicky is the crazy one for thanking him, even though he literally just handed him the box.
he helps aaron book a tickets to a band katelyn likes because he’s in class when they go on sale and claims to never have heard of them later on.
he fully insists he was never in the lounge when matt needed some help moving some furniture around, despite it clearly being a two person job, andrew being the only one around at that moment and matt literally fucking carrying the other end of the furniture with him.
one of his biggest and frankly stupidest lies is when he hands david a bottle of really expensive whiskey the day he graduates and two seconds after handing it over, he asks david where he got it from.
david just rolls his eyes and tells him some asshole who he WILL be keeping in touch with gave it to him.
andrew just says “who?” like david is being super vague and confusing.

The Winter Banquet.
Where the Spring Championship announcements happen for Collegiate Exy. A formal event meant to allow the ERC to showcase how their stars weren’t just brutes on the court. Look at how beautiful and handsome they all were. Look at how they danced together. Look at the smiles and laughter and-
Wait.
No.
Put that down.
Who had the great idea to put the Jackals next to the Terrapins? Things have been tense between the teams since the Captain of the Terrapins stole the Captain of the Jackal’s date during the Fall Banquet!
I thought we all agreed that there would never be any more steak knives! What was the point of paying for all the pre-cut tenderloins if we’re just going to give them steak knives?!
Really gotta find an intern to pin this fiasco on.
Oh great the Foxes are leaving! Did we even get a picture of Kevin Day in his suit? Fuck it’s going to be a two intern firing kind of day isn’t it.
Someone get an eye on the Ravens before they try and grab some hapless idiot and sacrifice him to revive Riko Moriyama. If there’s even one more damn tabloid with a blurry photo of ‘Riko Moriyama’ to prove that his death was faked then heads will roll.
Honestly, the biopic that some Edgar Allan Film student is making about him seems pretty interesting. The ERC just wishes people would stop taking pics of the ‘lead actor’ and sending it to tabloids as proof that the King hadn’t died.
Fuck, the Foxes left before we got any decent pictures.
Well just great.
You’d think that after all these years of the Foxes leaving early they’d have learned that getting pictures as they arrive is the most important thing.
Oh thank god it looks like the Trojans are starting to mediate the fight. You can always count on good ol’ Jeremy.
Fuck.
A Raven got too close to Jean Moreau and now Jeremy Knox has punched a Backliner. Great. The Trojans have formed ranks around Moreau but the kid’s just too damn tall. Someone has hit him in the head with an especially saucy meatball, he’s not injured, just confused. The Trojans are acting like it’s a gunshot he just took to the head.
The refreshment table just seemed to collapse in on itself and god wasn’t that just an allegory for this entire damn evening.
Anita Flores sighs as she watches yet another banquet go down in a riot. Honestly, she doesn’t know why they think these will end up differently. She finds herself often missing when she used to coordinate banquets for football teams.
She sighs and thinks about her least favorite interns.
Alex had been getting a bit too cocky lately. He’d make a good sacrifice.
***
(Three hours earlier)
The Palmetto State Foxes were on their way to the Winter Banquet. From what FF understood it was categorically always a 90% chance of a shitshow. Honestly FF was surprised that the percentage was that low.
There was a general tenseness in the air surrounding it that went beyond the Banquet’s propensity to become a fight.
This year the Winter Banquet was going to be held up at the Binghamton Bearcat’s stadium. The nation knew the story from the news and FF knew the story from both that and from the Foxes themselves who were there at the time in bits and pieces.
Captain Neil had been kidnapped from this stadium and then he’d been tortured. FF hadn’t even been on the team when it had happened and he was anxious about Captain Neil going anywhere near the stadium.
“He was just…he was just gone.” Matt had said, “Neil was gone and Kevin said that he was probably dead when Andrew got back with his phone.” He continued as the two of them sat up late in the living room of the dorm one night back in early October.
“I thought Andrew was going to kill me y’know.” Kevin had said bottle in hand as FF tried to help him up the stairs because apparently he would 100% guarantee vomit if he was in the nausea box. “I thought that maybe I deserved it, since I didn’t help Neil. I just let him walk to his death.” He said and despite assurances that he wouldn’t puke FF’s shoes did not make it through that journey unscathed.
“We called…we called everywhere.” Nicky had stared up at the ceiling of his hospital room, “Andrew was adamant that he was still alive even though Kevin kept saying he was dead and that dead was the nicest thing he could hope for. I thought that was a terrible thing to say.” Nicky curled up closer to him.
“I told you, Andrew dragged me like I was nothing to get to Neil. I don’t think he even noticed the guns.” Wymack said to Abby as the two sat on the back porch during Aras’ going away party. “His eyes were on Neil.” he gestures towards where Andrew was watching Captain Neil wrestle with Matt.
“He looked like shit.” Aaron had said unable to stomach a diagram of different degrees of burn in his medical book. “At least he was alive.” He adds.
“A hero.” Andrew’s voice had been what could be considered teasing from Andrew, “Someone who looks like her.” he had said touching Captain Neil’s burn scars as they drove away from the stadium after coming back to pick FF up.
Captain Neil had come to him the day before they were set to drive out, “Take me somewhere no one will find me for an hour.” FF hadn’t quite understood what Captain Neil meant, he never hid anywhere. People just failed to realize where he was.
“Ok.” he says instead of trying to explain because being unnoticed means no one hid codes from him.
The roof of the Library wasn’t that much different from the roof of the Tower, only that it was taller and bigger. Captain Neil had shut his phone off after texting something, likely to Andrew, and then put it into his pocket.
FF settled on the roof, sat with his back against a heating vent to stay warm. Captain Neil settled next to him and they sat in silence. It felt like back at the start of this where Captain Neil and Andrew would come find him and just sit in silence.
It was nice. He had missed-
“They act like the stadium is the thing that kidnapped me.” Captain Neil says.
Oh okay, quiet time is over apparently.
FF doesn’t say anything, figuring that nothing he could say right now would be the right thing and maybe Captain Neil just needs to talk through some stuff.
“That stadium is where I thought I’d have my last good memory.” Captain Neil explains, “I’m not scared of it and yet Andrew’s acting like I’ll die if I’m left alone for more than 2 seconds while we’re there. Every time we go there they all act like the most important thing in the world is that I get on that bus at the end of the night.” Captain Neil explains.
FF does remember how Andrew had grabbed Captain Neil after their October game up in Binghamton. How Captain Neil had complained bitterly but had gone after looking at Andrew.
“He’s dead!” Captain Neil exclaimed and FF couldn’t help but look over at the entrance and hoped no one heard them. “He’s dead! I watched him get shot! He can’t kidnap me again!” Captain Neil continued to yell and FF couldn’t help but worry that they’d be heard below, or worse bother a student trying to study below.
FF reached out and touched Captain Neil’s arm and bright blue eyes turned to him, “We’re on a library. Don’t yell.” FF said and Captain Neil looked at him incredulously.
Then he laughed. He laughed and laughed and FF was worried that he’d gone and broken his Captain.
He suddenly felt bad about his own bout of hysterical laughter a while back.
“Thanks Smith.” Captain Neil had said with a smile.
They had sat up there until it was dark and Andrew had started calling FF’s phone and Captain Neil took the call to say he was coming back.
Now they’re on the bus, dressed nicely, and on their way up to Binghamton’s stadium. Captain Neil and Andrew are hidden in the far back of the bus with Andrew looking far more like a watchdog than anything else the closer they got to their destination.
Captain Neil had seemed largely resigned to this treatment at this point. Eventually they were at the stadium and shown to their seats. They were sat across from the Trojans and it seemed like the rest of the team was quite pleased with that.
“Smith!” Captain Jeremy Knox is smiling at him, “Nice to see you again bud, nice name change too.” he says.
“It’s nice to see you too, Captain Jeremy.” FF says and doesn’t notice how Captain Neil’s head whips around to look at him.
“You two know each other?” Nicky asks looking between the two of them with excitement.
“Of course! We offered Smith a spot at the USC Trojans.” Captain Jeremy says and FF feels his stomach cramp at the memory.
That had been terrifying.
Coach Rheman and Captain Jeremy wanted to sit down to make their offer with his parents. He was still 17 and unable to sign anything legal without their permission. He’d tried to decline and move past them and Captain Jeremy had put the final nail in the coffin at the time for any thought that he could go to college on the power of his apparent Exy capabilities.
“I saw in your file that you have brothers! USC always gives a second look at student applicants who already have siblings in the university. You could go to school with your brothers!” he had smiled brightly like he wasn’t issuing FF one of the most terrifying threats he’d ever heard in his entire life.
He had given the firmest ‘No thank you, I’m not interested in playing Exy in college.’ he could and was running to his Grandma’s to breath into a bag for twenty minutes.
“I see you changed your mind about playing Exy in college.” Captain Jeremy said with the same smile that still feels like a threat.
“Coach Wymack and Captain Dan were convincing.” he says and looks to see if there’s any way he can move further away from Captain Jeremy’s attention.
“Can I ask what convinced you to be a Fox?” Captain Jeremy asks, “I’m always trying to see what support we should be offering. I found out last year that we missed out on Andrew because we didn’t offer spots to Aaron or Nicky. I thought since you had brothers that’d be the thing that got you.” Captain Jeremy leans across the table but stops when he notices the Foxes all tense. “Whoa, what’s up?” he asks.
Jean Moreau sighs from next to Captain Jeremy, “Not everyone wants to go to college with their family, Jeremy.” Jean says, “Did it not cross your mind that he changed his entire name?” he asks with a raised brow.
Jeremy blinks, “Oh,” he looks at FF, “I guess that wasn’t the right thing to offer.” he says leaning back in his chair.
“I guess I should thank you for offering that?” Nicky says wryly before turning to look at FF, “You look better in orange anyways.” he says.
“Thank you Nicky.” FF returns loyally.
The banquet gets started shortly afterwards. Food is served. The bar is opened. People are talking. FF finds himself relaxing the longer the conversations around him go on. Matt is talking with a backliner on the Trojan line named Todd in good cheer. Captain Neil, Kevin, and Jean are all talking about the latest updates with Ichirou in French with the occasional gesture towards FF. Jean Moreau looks at him with a raised eyebrow but gives him a single nod when Captain Neil explains what happened.
Jeremy is chatting with Jack and even Jack was finding it hard to maintain his usual level of rudeness in the face of such unbridled positive energy. Nicky was talking with Katelyn and Alvarez. Aaron was chatting with a fellow med student college athlete who was an offensive dealer.
It was shaping up to be a good night.

a lot of months into their relationship, which Andrew didn't admit they were in one,
he asked Neil to stop whatever this was between them.
Andrew didn't want to be something for Neil to fix. cause he knew it wasn't possible. he just didn't want Neil to break in the process of fixing Andrew.he wanted to make Neil leave, before Neil decides to leave himself. he told him he shouldn't settle for the first person he's attract to, he should explore his sexuality and maybe he'll even find out he's into girls.
Andrew had expected Neil's protest, cause he is Neil and that's what he always do,
what he didn't expect was a fight. a fucking fight.
he didn't expect Neil be so sure of what he wants and raise a fucking hell
" i don't know why the fuck do you think i will do something i don't want to."
"yeah because every decision you've made so far was a win. don't be fucking stupid."
"oh huh no no no Andrew 𝘺𝘰𝘶 don't be fucking stupid. you're literally pushing me away cause you think i don't know what I'm doing??"
"yes."
"well, fuck you for doing what you don't want to."
"here he goes, still doesn't give a shit about what he wants."
"this is what i want."
" you don't know that cause you never had the chance to want anything else."
" i do now and i choose this"
"there is no this to choose, that's the problem."
the second thing Andrew wasn't expecting, was Neil's childish, childish, so childish behavior, after they settled for a conclusion that Neil needs to figure his shit out and fuck around.
well, it was Andrew's conclusion, which Neil saw as a challenge and decided to make a hell out of it.
so the next day, when Neil injured his ankle in the practice but insisted to go back to tower by himself,
Andrew told him to not be stupid and get in the car.
and it went like:
Neil first turning his head in Andrew's direction, then takes two steps closer to him, a confused look on his face, then so confused and innocent said "I'm sorry, i don't.." he looked left, then right, looking for something, then looked at Andrew and said "fucking see where the fuck did i asked for your opinion. as much as i know this shouldn't concern you, watch your own shit, just like 𝘺𝘰𝘶 decided to."
then pulled his duffel on his shoulder and left, smug.
all the foxes fell silent for a second. trying to realize what the hell just happened, while Andrew was still looking at where Neil left the locker room.
well, he's gonna be a pain in the ass. Andrew could feel the storm.
"what the fuck?" Dan said. eyes wide.
"did you break up or something?" Nicky asked nerves.
Andrew took his own bag, ignored all the question and told them if they don't be fast enough to shower, they have to walk back to tower, then left the team with their face as a question mark.
Andrew knew it was going to be a long week. and it was.
Neil accepted Andrew's decision, but that didn't mean he wasn't going to be an ass about it, and show it to everybody.
"Oh I'm sorry did i forget your daily reminder to mind your own business?"
"imma get a soda, maybe I'll tell Roland he can come and take his chances with you again."
"yeah i don't know Nicky, maybe I'll just go hookup with the first person who suggests since as some people say, I'M CLEARLY FREE FROM A CAGE."
"Oh kevin did you hear something? i think Andrew just said something but i can't hear him since i choose not to."
"excuse me? did you say don't be a child? we'll I'm pretty much of a child since i can't make my own decision, mr minyard."
"where am i going? England. i noticed I'm incapable of doing basic human actions so I'll go ask my uncle to be my legal gardian and get me a new ID as someone under 18 so he could make my decisions himself."
"Oh my god Andrew i had almost mistaken your behavior for giving a fuck. don't say anything else next time, just like we decided to. wait no, just like 𝘺𝘰𝘶 decided to. yeah."
"wow it's a great day for being incapable in making decisions."
"would you not talk to me? cause when you open your mouth i wanna kiss you so bad but i can't cause you said no so shut up and let me keep my fucking calm."
It wasn't even a week yet, but Andrew has already had enough.
so he kicked kevin out of their room at 3 am and locked the door before Neil could leave the room.
"Ah look you just took the decision of leaving this room from me. tsk tsk." he said after a yawn.
he was still dizzy with sleep. Andrew didn't have any sleep, he was thinking all while shifting in the bed. Neil was a light sleeper, and clearly he woke up with the sound of kevin nagging and going out of the room.
" you're being ridiculous."
"excuse me?"
"stop acting like i did what i did to punish you."
"well, what you did was stupid and here's the result."
"what i did was because you are stupid. Neil you-"
"if i believed for a second, that this was what you wanted, i would accept all of this and close my mouth shut."
Neil was starting dead serious at Andrew. then he swang his legs and got off the bed to stand in front of him.
" if for a second, i knew you really, really didn't want me here, with you, i wouldn't be. but your problem is something else and you're not telling me straight."
the third thing Andrew wasn't expecting, but somehow was, was Neil seeing right through him.
"tell me what's your problem Andrew. what is it with you, and what do you want for and from me."
Andrew knew he could hide things from Neil. it wasn't like it was impossible to keep anything from Neil.
but Andrew didn't want to, and so that was why Neil knew.
Andrew really didn't want to. Andrew wanted to be seen, be understood. for once again in a long long time, Andrew wanted to solve something that is a matter to him, instead of shutting it down and pushing it away.
“Tell me what you’re not telling me.”
Andrew really fucking hated him.
"the liar wants fucking truth? alright, here your truth: you won't last long with a lost cause, josten."
it was a long, long talk.
this time unlike their last conversion, they were talking slow, murmuring even, calm. sitting in front of each other. Neil had a knee pulled to his chest and Andrew had his head resting on the wall behind him, one knee pulled up. it was a long long night.
"i can't be fix."
"I'm not here to fix you" Neil said, looking at him softly, then he shuffled closer to Andrew and put his forhead on Andrew's pulled leg.
"I'm fucked up too. we're not perfect, but we fit. we're gonna heal. i don't want to fix you, damn i don't want to change anything in you, but i want to be with you when you're healing, when you decide you want to let yourself heal. like how you're with me when I'm healing."  he brushed his fingers with Andrew's on the floor, while he continued talking and pull down all of the walls Andrew had made around himself.
"I'm not gonna fix you. I'm not going to do anything in your life, I'm not going to change anything. I'm just gonna be there with you when your making a decision. not having a choice while i was younger doesn't mean i don't know how to make one. I'm not here cause i think you're fucked up enough to tolerate me, i choose you cause i want to. i heal with you. i don't want anything from you, i just want to be with you. it's not like I'm gonna leave cause you didn't give me what i want. this doesn't work for us like other people. i already have everything i want."
Andrew still didn't say anything. Neil's words were a heavy, heavy weight on his chest that mede him breath easier instead of choking him.
"unless you really want me to. unless i can feel it instead of hearing some forced lies"
Andrew had prepared himself for Neil leaving, long ago. it shouldn't had sound so horrifying to hear, so horrifying to imagine.
Andrew really didn't want to.
and he said so. pulled Neil's hair and brought his face up and closer to his own, Neil had to put both his hands on either side of Andrew's waist to support his weight, and when his face was so close he could feel Neil's warm breath, he murmured against his lips
"i don't. i wish i did. it'd be so much easier without you."
truth
" i know."
also true
but they also knew, that easier didn't necessarily means better. it actually never did. it was a fact by now. specialy when it came to their 'this'. it was the furthest thing from easy, but the hardship and fuckery was worth it.
was welcome.
so they share this truth in one light press of lips, then two, then three and four and a lot more when it turned to fire meeting fire. equal forces of need.
and Andrew thought he was kidding himself when he thought he wouldn't miss this, cause right now, he didn't know how he went days without kissing Neil.
it kept him sane.
They clung together, kissing hungrily. Wound so close, every breath pressed them together, sending heat in waves through Andrew's core.
he was so mad at himself for lowering the defence he spent days to build. was mad at Neil for being like this, he was mad at their this and was questioning everything and wondering when the fuck and why the fuck it turned to a "this", but now he was in too deep and it didn't matter how and why. he was so mad he wanted to kiss Neil until he suffocates and fucking dies.
Andrew really hated Neil. he hated anything he felt about Neil. they were so much and so deep and felt so forbidden and dangerous. and Andrew wanted Neil to know and never wanted him to know.
so later that night when he was fucking Neil into the matters of his bed, slow and deep, holding him with gentle hands, leaving bruises all over his neck and collarbone, swallowing his moans and buried deep inside him, he hoped Neil would feel it in each thrust, every slide of lips that were hardly parted from eachother, and every kiss against his neck. he hoped Neil would see it in his eyes or in the way he murmured his name against his ear, the way he kissed his forhead. the way he held him in his arms when Neil was all worn out and out of space.
"but next time you pull such a bullshit, I'll really head to England."
"at least now i can kick your ass when you decide to walk back to tower with an injured ankle."
Neil smilies, clearly holding back a laugh.
"i wasn't hurt that bad."
"you looked like a 13 year old teenage girl who would pull her hair out if you told them no again."
"yeah i will be worse if you do that again."
Andrew huffed and rolled his eyes.
Neil shuffled closer to him, and said with a whisper: "whatever you thought at that moment,
your past doesn't say who you are, Andrew. it's part of you, not all of you. it doesn't define you whole, you're not just whatever fucked up thing that has happened to you. i learned that through years of being a new person with no past."
Andrew gave him an unimpressed look.
great. life lessons.
"you talk too much like betsy for someone who hates therapists."
"do you think I'm like my father because i meant to be when i was a kid?"
Andrew blinked at him. Neil mentioning his dad actually surprised him.
"do i sound like betsy now?" Neil looked smug.
"i say that because I've lived that, betsy says that cause she has seen it in someone else. doesn't change the whole point, though."
just hearing and knowing something, doesn't make it easier to act on in or truely believe it. Andrew knew a lot of things through years of therapy, but he still couldn't help but feeling and not feeling things he knew he wasn't supported to. but he also knew that it's normal. it takes practice, energy, time. it will hurt and it won't be easy, and it might not completely heals, it probably won't, but eventually, it'll be better, it'll be worth it.
he hopes.
𝒉𝑜𝑝𝑒, another thing he worked damn hard to accept. to have.
"no, it doesn't, and you're not."
Neil smiled at him. "i know. I'm gonna heal too."
"you will."
they both would heal.
𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒌𝒏𝒐𝒘 𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒉𝒂𝒑𝒑𝒆𝒏𝒔 𝒂𝒇𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒂 𝒇𝒊𝒓𝒆 𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒕?
𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒔 𝒈𝒓𝒐𝒘.
they would both heal, together.

The Kayleigh Day Lives AU - Part 3
Also known as Congratulations, Wymack, it's a boy! He is also already 20 years old and horribly traumatised
So I think that after the banquet Kayleigh goes to some ERC after party to schmooze a bit, maybe with the explicit intention of undermining the rumor of Kevin being better than Riko. Like "do you think I'd let anyone hold MY son back? *Nervous laugh*"
Smash cut to the match between Riko and Kevin
Kayleigh is halfway back to the hotel when she gets Kevin's call. He's immediately locked himself in a bathroom while Jean helps distract Riko.
Now she knows this is BAD bad for a couple reasons. For one, hands have very delicate bones, and full recoveries from severe blunt trauma injuries are hard and rare. Second, there's the fact that this confirms her suspicions that Kevin was being mistreated from behind her back. Third, she knows they won't let her take him to a hospital right now. And last, but not least, it's going to be very hard to get away with double homicide once she gets her hands on Tetsuji and Riko.
Kayleigh has to make a snap judgment if she wants to help her son, in a way that won't put either of them in more danger. She can't trust Tetsuji anymore, so she goes over him.
Now, I don't think she would have access directly to Kengo, but during her years as a Moriyama asset she has amassed enough goodwill she has a few contacts in the main branch. People who are worried about Tetsuji overeaching with his little project.
She calls them and very carefully chooses her words. She says that Riko has dealt Kevin a potential carreer-ending injury and that the best way to control that narrative is going to be playing it off as an accident and taking Kevin out of the public eye for a while, transfering him out of Edgar Allan so people focus on that drama instead of questioning the origin of his injury. She doesn't necessarily threaten going public with what she knows if they don't allow her to take him safely out of the Nest, because she isn't stupid, but it IS implied.
Kayleigh gets half an hour to take Kevin out of the hotel before she herself has to report back. Wherever he's going, she can't come with, as insurance.
That... Somewhat hinders her options.
But, well. David Wymack is in town.
Kevin has found the letter in this universe too, because Tetsuji would have it regardless, but he took Kayleigh at her word when she explained it was for the best that Wymack not know.
This is not a can of worms Kayleigh ever intended to open. But there is a saying about desperate times and desperate measures.
Which is how she ends up picking up Kevin, badly bandaging his hand, and going after the Palmetto State Foxes.
She catches up with them right as they are piling onto the bus to leave. She almost his the bus with her car. It's a mess.
It gets worse once she and Kevin get out, though.
Wymack is alarmed and confused and oh my God Kayleigh what the fuck is your badly injured son doing here.
And she says something to the likes of "First of all, that's OUR badly injured son"
There is a lot of screaming. Dan thinks she's having a stroke. Wymack is torn between confusion and rage. Kevin is going into shock, like, the medical condition. Abby is trying to weave her way to him because someone has to give that boy some actual first aid. Kayleigh's time is running out and she doesn't have time to stand here in this parking lot and justify every questionable decision she has made in the last thirty years. Tetsuji just found out about everything and starts blowing up her phone.
Andrew is crashing from his meds cycle and sleeps through the whole thing.
There is literally no time to untangle any of this, so Kayleigh just tells Wymack that Kevin will explain everything after they take him to the hospital. Preferably in South Carolina because the farther they are from Riko, the better.
No one is happy with this turn of events. It's for certain, though, that things will get a lot worse before it gets better.
On another note, Aaron just won himself like 200 dollars, and it might just be enough to ask that cute cheerleader in his class on a nice date.

Of Brothers and Bloodbonds (Unfinished Samijey Fic)
Rating: Teen Words: 2925 Pairing: SamiJey, Sami & Kevin (platonic/brotherly) Characters: Sami Zayn, Jey Uso, Kevin Owens, Jimmy Uso (Mentioned), The Bloodline (Mentioned) Sitting in a hotel room in Detroit, Michigan, Sami spends the night tending to Kevin's ribs while watching Jey take on Roman. When Jimmy shows up and turns on Jey, Sami is even in the building let alone in a position to help. So, after the show, when Kevin (of all people) demands that Sami go spend the night with Jey, rather than spend it mothering him, Sami can't bring himself to put up too much of a fight. After all, he was the one to tell Jey to follow his heart. How could he ever abandon him now?
STORY IS UNFINISHED AND LIKELY NEVER WILL BE
(sorry)
“I mean it, Sami, you should go to him.”
Sami Zayn was fussing. Not that he wasn’t always concerned for Kevin; Kevin was his brother and Sami loved him with all his heart. He was going to worry about Kevin whether he was trying to heal him or hurting him personally. But ever since Kevin had gotten injured, Sami had been particularly protective, if for no other reason than he felt guilty about not having stopped it.
Not that he could have. The numbers game was a bitch.
But maybe that was why, when his former lover Jey Uso got toppled by it at Summerslam, Sami had felt guilty for a whole other reason.
But Jey was in the past. Beyond that, they were in the past. They were friends again, sure. Maybe. Sort of. A little. If you could call them not hating each other and simply being on speaking terms again “friends”. But regardless of what was happening at Summerslam, Sami wasn’t about to abandon Kevin to help Jey. Not again, at least, especially considering how badly doing so had gone in the past. Besides, It was Jey’s battle and had been for a long time. Sami knew he’d just get in the way.
And then, Jey had cried.
Sitting in the ring after the match sobbing over yet another betrayal and another loss.
He’d lost his go at the titles. He’d lost his chance to be Tribal Chief. But most of all, he’d lost his brother.
Jimmy. His brother, his twin, his whole world. The one person who Sami knew Jey would lay down his life for in a heartbeat had, instead, laid Jey out and left him at Roman’s feet.
It had stabbed Sami in the heart in a way he’d forgotten could hurt so much... which was strange because usually, when his heart ached that way, it was because he’d gotten stabbed in the back by his own brother yet again.
So when said brother saw the video with Sami and told him that he needed to go pay his old lover a visit...
“Seriously,” Kevin told him, “I’m fine here. He needs you more than I do right now.”
Sami shook his head. Kevin wasn’t feeling well. The painkillers had clearly gone to his brain, although how loopy prescription-strength ibuprofen could make you, Sami wasn’t sure.
“No way, Kev,” Sami told him, “I’m staying put. I’m not leaving you alone again.”
“Sami. I’m fine. The door is locked, nobody is getting in, it’s not like my ribs are gonna get any more fucked up in a hotel room in Detroit. You need to go check on Jey.”
Kevin definitely wasn’t feeling well.
Sami shot an incredulous look. “Since when did you care so much about Jey Uso? I thought you were sick of the Bloodline?”
“I am! But for fucks sake, Sami, the guy was sobbing. When did I care? When did you STOP? You’re the one who was so preoccupied with saving him, SAVE HIM!”
“Come on Kevin, he doesn’t...”
“Sami LISTEN! I – ”
Suddenly, Kevin winced and grabbed his ribs.
“Kev!” Sami shouted and practically launched himself off the opposite bed to check on his partner... only to get swatted away aggressively.
“I’m fine, I’m FINE!” Kevin barked. “Look, are you going after him or am I? Because I don’t think he’s gonna be very happy to see me right now. You, on the other hand, he would – ENOUGH WILL YOU STOP! GO FUSS OVER SOMEONE WHO NEEDS IT!!!”
Kevin practically shoved Sami and his ministrations off the bed, pushing him away to no small amount of protest. The reaction was quick, for both of them, and Sami’s chest hurt at the look of guilt on his best friend’s face.
“Look, sorry,” Kevin said quietly, “I’m sorry. I’m just... I’ve had a really shitty couple of weeks. Even the zoo sort of sucked as much pain as I was in. And I was kind of hoping that maybe, just maybe, this would all be over this weekend. That Roman and his narcissistic bullshit would be gone and the whole fucking company could move on. But that didn’t happen. What did happen was his poor bastard of a cousin got his ass beat and his heart broken and I’m not going to leave this alone for you to change your mind sometime when I’m not around and then you get your ass beat and heart broken too.”
Kevin’s jaw clenched and Sami watched him visibly swallow the anger that was bubbling inside him.
“So do us both a favor and go to him. You know his room number, find him, and fix him. Even if it’s just for the night.”
Sami’s heart was pounding in his chest at the realization of what Kevin had suggested before, as if to confirm, his friend added, “And I don’t want to see you until morning.”
Sami’s mouth suddenly felt very dry. If there was any doubt about what Kevin wanted him to do, it had been forcefully removed with his last statement, and, with nothing else to say, Sami replied with the first thing that did come to mind.
“How... how do you know I know his room number?”
Kevin gave a small smile that was stuck somewhere between sadness and understanding.
“You always do,” he said softly.
He always did.
And, closing his eyes and letting out a long sigh, Sami realized Kevin was right. He had to go. Kevin would be fine but Jey?
Jey had never been apart from Jimmy before. Not like this.
Sami’s heart ached all over again at the thought of what Jey might be going through. At the thought and, worse, at the memory of all the times he’d gone through the same. Bloody, tear-stained nights of him and Kevin tearing each other’s bodies apart while Sami’s soul did the same inside his chest.
It was never fun and, for as much as he’d cherished the connection they shared regardless of what side they were on the ring from each other, it left him feeling empty and broken every time.
And that was what awaited Jey Uso now.
Emptiness and brokenness.
All rendered at the hands of his brother.
Sami got off the bed and, nodding with his decision, opened his eyes to gaze at his own brother.
“You’re right,” he told Kevin, “I’ll go.” .......
Kevin hadn’t been kidding about Sami always knowing what Jey’s room number was.
At first, it had been easy – The Bloodline always lived in the lap of luxury. If Sami knew what the hotel was, all he had to do was find the Executive Suite, and, guaranteed, they’d be there. He’d made a point early on to always locate the suite in the building when he arrived and, while he’d never admit it, on more than one occasion had requested a room swap to something close enough to maybe even catch a sight of his old family. He was careful, always careful, and if they’d seen him watching they’d never gone after him, but something about keeping them close, about keeping Jey close had always felt right to Sami.
But once Sami had reunited with Kevin things got a bit… trickier. Kevin was jealous, always so damn jealous, and Sami had to use a trip to the ice machine as an alibi to figure out where the Usos were staying.
It hadn’t taken long for Kevin to figure out what was going on and, after Kevin had caught him behind a corner watching Jey catching some air on a public balcony near the master suite, he’d gotten hell for it. To be fair, Kevin wasn’t angry about Sami’s feelings – those he’d figured out ages ago – it was more a case of Sami being stupid and creepy about following around an ex who wanted nothing to do with him when he and Kevin were ostensibly supposed to be partners.
Sami had to admit Kevin had a point about that. Even if Jey did want him around lurking in corners watching him wasn’t the way to go about seeing him, regardless of Sami’s intentions.
When Kevin asked him what said intentions were, Sami hadn’t been able to answer, but then how the hell was he supposed to tell his partner that regrets about leaving Jey behind in the Bloodline and laments about how Jey had chosen Jimmy over him were keeping him up at night? How the hell was he supposed to tell Kevin that seeing Jey, even from afar, was the only time the bullshit in his brain truly shut up? That keeping tabs on Jey and always knowing where he was and that he was ok was the only thing keeping him sane?
No, Kevin didn’t understand, especially when following Jey around kept getting him hurt instead and Sami resigned himself to asking the other superstars what room the Usos and their little brother were staying in. And, once tensions began to flare between the three of them and their cousin, Sami started asking the front desk. Sami had always felt like the trustworthy sort but the ease with which he usually got the information made Sami wonder if Jey wasn’t saying something upon check-in.
He wanted to think Jey was. He doubted he was.
But, regardless, it was another night in another hotel room and once again, Sami knew exactly where to find Jey Uso. Far from the master suite or any suite at all, just a regular hotel room that was honestly beneath Jey. Roman and Solo could go fuck themselves, Jey was the one who belonged in the executive suite.
Jimmy too. Fuck him too now.
The whole lot of them, Jey’s whole family, none of them deserved him and, really, Jey didn’t deserve them. He deserved so much more. To be loved, to be protected, to be champion.
Most of all, he deserved to not be alone. And as Sami looked around the hallway standing outside room 403 to make sure nobody had followed him, he knocked on Jey’s door, intent on making sure Jey wasn’t.
There was a moment, or rather, several. Several moments of agonizing silence where a thousand worries crossed Sami’s brain. What if Jey had gotten a different room? What if Jimmy had come after him? What if Roman had? What if Jey had done something stupid? Oh god, oh fuck, Jey, Jey, JEY…
But then, noise. The sound of multiple locks being unbolted and unlatched before the door cracked open without a word.
Not swung. Cracked.
And, a moment later, began to close again.
“Hey!” Sami said, quickly shoving his foot forward to block the door.
If there was an invitation to enter beyond the door opening, Sami didn’t get it but he also didn’t care. If Jey hadn’t wanted him in there, he wouldn’t have unlocked the door let alone opened it. That was just how Jey Uso was. You only ever got as close as he wanted you to.
Sami entered the room quickly, taking one final look around, closing the door behind him, rebolting all the locks… and almost plowing over a folding chair that had been propped against the wall behind the door.
“Use the chair too,” Sami heard Jey say. His voice was so small and broken and, as Sami saw his former lover standing in front of him, two things struck him immediately.
Jey’s back was to him, tattooed, bare, and exposed.
And Jey was still crying.
Sami made a mental note to buy Kevin an entire tray of his favorite cupcakes when they returned home as a thank you for pulling his head out of his ass. Kevin was fine, Kevin didn’t need him at all that night.
Jey, however…
Silently, Sami unfolded the chair and propped it under the doorknob.
“You know,” Sami said softly, “if there’s a fire or something, this is gonna make it really hard for the firefighters to get in.”
“Good.”
“Did you steal that?”
“Does it matter?”
“No.”
Jey didn’t respond to that, simply moving over to the bed and laying down, curling into a ball and clinging to a pillow that looked like Jey had been holding it in a death grip for hours.
Sami felt his heart kick at the sight. Jey, so proud, so strong, tucked in the fetal position over the betrayal of the twin he’d shared the womb with. It was... honestly it made Sami want to cry. But really, with as red and puffy as Jey’s eyes were at that point, it was obvious Jey had done enough crying for both of them. Instead, Sami stood across from Jey, leaning against the wall and trying not to disturb the typically bland painting of flowers that always seemed to decorate every hotel room across America.
For several moments, they stayed like that, silent beside the quiet sounds of Jey’s sniffles.
It was Sami who broke the silence first. “How’s your head?”
A sniffle. “... hurts.”
“Those superkicks hurt.”
“Yeah.”
There was a beat before Jey added, “Sorry.”
Sami smiled sadly. “Don’t worry about it.”
Another sniffle, this time accompanied by a fidget and Jey adjusting his grip on the pillow. “Nah, man. You was right. All along. Never shoulda listened to him.”
“Don’t beat yourself up over it. Roman can be very persuasive.”
“I didn’t mean Roman.”
“Oh.”
Jey’s grip somehow tightened even further and Sami sighed. He had to get Jey out of that headspace, he knew that much. Jey lived deep enough inside his own mind on his best days but when he was in the worst places, he tended to spiral. Sami had seen it happen.
He’d caused it to happen.
He didn’t want to think about that, though. Not when Jey was suffering at that moment for a whole different reason. From a whole different person.
Sami pushed away from the wall and stepped over to the bed. “Hey,” he said softly, placing his hand on Jey’s arm, “Come on, get up. Here, let go...”
Jey’s whole body twisted, pulling his arm away from Sami’s reach.
“Jey, come on, don’t -- ”
“Go away.”
“I’m not going to leave yo – "
“I SAID GO AWAY!”
“NO! I’m not leaving!”
Sami reached across the bed and grabbed Jey’s wrist, pulling it free. In an instant, Jey’s eyes blazed, his fiery temper shining through and matched only by the fire in Sami’s eyes. But, in the instant after that, Sami’s gaze softened, turning from fire to warmth and for as much as his grip didn’t loosen, the intensity of the touch shifted drastically.
The effect it had was quick, Jey’s rigid form relaxing just enough to allow Sami to relax as well.
“Sami...” Jey said and, oh, his voice. So strong, so angry, but not at him. Not really, and Sami couldn’t help but smile.
“I’m not leaving,” Sami repeated softly.
“You did once. How’m I supposed to trust you won’t again?”
Sami’s thumb absently brushed Jey’s wrist as he replied, “I left Roman, not you. I’d hoped you’d come with me.”
“I shoulda.”
Sami sighed deeply. “Well, uhh, hindsight’s...”
“Ya, I know,” Jey said, cutting him off and this time pulling his wrist away and releasing the pillow, pushing it behind him and swinging his legs around to sit on the edge of the bed. He aggressively rubbed the tears away, roughly, as if he could just scrub them and the pain they represented from existence, and added, “Hindsight’s 20/20. I got it.”
“Actually,” Sami replied, “I was gonna say it’s a bitch.”
Jey’s face lifted, just for a moment, and their eyes met, and Sami’s heart broke. They were red, sure, but the pain and anguish in them was so deep that it was rending Sami’s soul simply from seeing it.
So he couldn’t look at it anymore.
Sami quickly took a seat beside Jey on the bed, not touching him, but still close enough that he could feel Jey’s presence against his skin as if the flames that were always burning in Jey were warming him like a fireplace. Sami stared at the wall in front of both of them, not quite looking and far from seeing, but at that moment it was better than the alternative, so he figured he would focus on it anyway.
For his part, Jey’s eyes were on the floor.
And this time, the silence was broken by him.
“I never thought...” he began, his voice small again, “Me and Jimmy. We ain’t never been apart. He’s always had my back. And now... I got nothing. I got no one.”
“Not true.”
“What? Who else I got? You?”
For such a bitter statement, there wasn’t nearly enough bitterness in his voice for Sami’s taste. And he could have done without the defeat that was in its place. He turned his focus to see Jey, still staring at the floor, and let out a long breath.
“Yeah, I’ve been pretty shit about that, haven’t I,” Sami admitted. “Sorry. Maybe if I had been there. I shouldn’t have left you – ”
“Man, don’t start that shit, I ain’t your responsibility. I can handle my own stuff, Uce.”
“I know. And I’m proud of you.”
The speed with which Jey’s head spun to stare at Sami, his eyes wide with shock at the redhead’s words – it made Sami sick to his stomach as he realized why. There was no way, it couldn’t be...
“Has - Has nobody told you that yet???” Sami asked. “Nobody???”
(end of written part)
As a heads up for the end of this story... Sami convinced Jey how proud he is and that he acknowledges Jey. And that, as far as Sami is concerned, Jey is the HIS tribal chief. Jey says that he said the same about Roman. When Roman made him Honorary Uce, Sami was real quick to call Roman his Tribal Chief.
Sami corrects him by saying that he called Roman "Tribal Chief". But he never said Roman was HIS Tribal Chief.
Jey is shocked, rememebering that night and realizing Sami is right and they kiss. Sami makes a comment that, if Smackdown ever grows too inhospitable for him with his family around, there's always a spot for Jey on Raw at his side. Jey questions if Kevin would be OK with that and Sami says "Probably not, but he'll get over it."
The story ends with Jey asking if Sami wants to spend the night and Jey tells him he had sort of planned on it. They get comfortable and Jey crawls under the covers, curled up facing the door.... away from Sami. Sami is shocked, but Jey insists he gets into bed.
Sami realizes what the gesture means. Jey is turning his back on him... the last person left in the world he would do that for... and Sami turns the light off and curls around Jey, promising that, as much as Jey's family might break his heart, he will never do the same. Never again.
"I love you," Sami says.
"Yeah. Love you too. And Sami? Thanks"
"Any time." And with that, Sami kisses Jey on back of the neck and the two fall asleep together.
Sorry I never got to finishing this. I wish I had. I had this and another one in my mind but they just never got done. Forgive me.

Song Rec: Kids with Guns by Gorillaz

Part 9: Networking 1/2
Tumblr media
Part 8
~
Vash (Tristamp) X Reader
Warning! ⚠
⚠ cussing, insomnia, sleep deprived Reader, car hitting someone(Wolfwood), blood, mentions of death, what the fuck is vore? Does this count as it? Idk ⚠
Tumblr media
The car bounced slightly as it drove on the sand.
You were half asleep because insomnia could be a real bitch sometimes. Vash was dozing off, sitting at the other end of the back seat.
Meryl had asked to accompany both of you, mostly to get the blonde's story.
Not wanting to drag Kevin around, you let the big bird stay with the people of Jeneora Rock, knowing that they would need the bird more than you. Also handing over a letter for them to give to the doctor.
So here you were, in the back seat of the reporter's vehicle while the news was going on, struggling to stay awake.
Maybe I should sleep. You think, too deep into your thoughts to notice that Roberto and Meryl were talking about the worm cluster up in the sky.
Then the car jerked into a sharp turn.
"Ah!", you yelped, grabbing onto the top of the seat with one arm and the other darting over to keep the blonde from flying forward, having to get closer to keep him safe.
Car having stopped, everyone in the let out a breath before getting off.
The small dark haired woman sprinted to the figure lying in the sand and the rest of you followed.
"Hey! Are you ok!?", Meryl asked the person she hit.
You went next to her, holding a small first-aid kit and recognized the poor accident victim making pained noises.
"Wolfwood?", you were a little more awake now thanks to seeing a familiar face. "Hey Star boy, help me lift.", you say and pocket the kit before crouching down to grab the man's legs.
"Right!", the humanoid typhoon rushes over to help.
After getting the man in black into the car, it was a little cramped but at least the injured person wouldn't get his head hitting the side windows. Meryl was speeding through the dunes, the car bouncing even more than earlier. "There's no dying on my watch mister!", she said panicked.
You and Vash held onto the man so he wouldn't get even more hurt, but with all the movement he was still in constant pain. Both you and the blonde looked at Wolfwood worriedly since he looked a little braindead.
Thankfully with the fast driving, the car made it to a plant stop.
Meryl jumped out of the car and rushed over to the building while you helped Vash get the injured man out of the car.
"We need supplies! This man is injured!", she said before getting a good look at the state the place was in.
"Hold on.", you mumble to the blonde and let him take hold of Wolfwood before going into the building, seeing the blood and dead bodies inside.
The other two followed you both in and also took in the scene.
.
After the bodies were buried and Wolfwood was up, you stood next to the kid as you watched the undertaker in black stuck the heavy cross into the sand.
"Uh.. Heavenly father, lord in heaven..", he started, taking a drink from the bottle in his hand while squatting down. "Forgive us our sins oh lord as we forgive those who sin against us.", he said and started sprinkling the water on the makeshift graves.
You rolled your eyes, too tired for whatever gibberish the man in the suit would say next.
"Please welcome their souls and all the faithful departed into your..into your.. What is it?"
Vash and Meryl look up from their sad gazes after hearing that.
"Welcome them into your humble abode?"
The two look at the black haired man in confusion as he continues to guess what to say next. And then the cross starts to tilt and fall, making the man scramble to catch it.
"Uh..make sure there's some empty chairs. They're kindom coming so..", Wolfwood says with his hands in a praying position.
"That's enough!", the small reporter says, making the undertaker stop. "You're not really a priest, huh?"
"No, I'm not.", Wolfwood says standing up. "I'm an Undertaker."
Shovel, shovel. Bury, bury. You thought with a slow blink.
You didn't pay attention until the man in black walked over and took a knee, handing the kid a lollipop.
"I want one..", you mumble to yourself.
Damn. I am out of it. You thought and rubbed one of your eyes.
Looking over to the three, you are just in time to see the check scene. Vash in total shock at the price before shakily showing it to Meryl. Then Meryl starts to argue with Wolfwood and the other reporter walks up, taking the check before scoffing.
There was a sudden light ring in your ears, making you wake up just a bit.
Isn't this when-
You don't get to finish that thought as everything starts shaking and you grab onto the kid so that you both don't fall over.
Even though I know they're the cause, here I am making sure they don't fall.
The shakes continue and that's when the sand dust starts to form when the worm gets closer. At the moment you wonder if you should feel terrified or in awe.
Then it hit you.
Ah, I've hit my sleep deprivation insanity.
"It's a grand-worm!", Vash yelled out before the giant worm swallows the plant station whole.
"AAAAAAAHHH-!"
Everyone screams as all of you go down the dark and odd throat of the worm, eyes widening when seeing the high fall after entering another part of the worm.
All of you groan after hitting the bottom, sitting up or standing from the fall.
Meryl had held onto you and the kid while falling, then she pulled both of you back when a large piece of metal fell just a few inches away.
"Incoming!", Roberto yelled out as more of the plant station started to fall down, even the car.
"Nope, nope, nope.", you started moving the two next to you and felt someone squish you between the two while bringing all of you away from the danger. "Oof-", you sounded as all of you landed.
"You guys aren't hurt are you?", the humanoid typhoon asks.
"No.", you say and shiver in disgust when feeling sand in your clothing, sitting up quickly and shaking/pulling at your clothes.
You stand up and grab onto your coat, also shaking the sand off of it. And as you were doing that, you heard Wolfwood saying something about watching your step.
Then a flying worm crawled out of a skull.
.
"I've heard something about worms being interconnected.", the small reporter said.
"You heard right.", the older reporter confirmed.
Vash and the others watched as the worms communicated. Light bouncing off the walls of the worm as the small one flew farther and farther.
"That's its detached electron network. The bigger the worm, the more detached electrons it holds.", the older reporter says. "Judging by its size, this guy must be a pillar of its community."
"Which means?", Meryl asked, turning to look at her partner.
"Which means we're in the head honcho.", Roberto replied.
The blonde was still looking up at the bug before snapping his attention to the two figures going deeper into the worm.
"Hey!", he said and ran after the two.
What is the angel doing!?
"Come back!", the small reporter shouted.
They stopped when the two were climbing, the kid jumping over while the medic was still going.
"What are you doing?", he asked as they kept climbing.
They looked over their shoulder and down at him with a serious gaze, not missing a beat with their response.
"Going after the kid, duh.", they said and continued climbing.
Well, that makes sense. He thought and started climbing.
Then after the climb, he found them standing in front of four tunnel like openings.
"Uh..", the medic turned to face him and the reporter with a nervous smile. "I think I lost the kid..?"

sorry i saw down bad and kevjean on your blog. hope you dont mind whats about to follow.
Tumblr media
when kevin made jean think that he might care in a romantic way, scenes like 'will you teach me when he's not looking' or 'promise me jean, i dont want to lose you'. and then jean realised that kevin's heart belonged to the court, i.e., kevin sent jean back to being forever alone. but, for those few moments, jean knew 'cosmic love'
Tumblr media
so jean is now stuck with these unrequited feelings for kevin, thinking that kevin doesnt give a flying fuck about jean, but jean cant DO anything about it so even if he dies it would make no difference BUT HES STILL DOWN BAD
Tumblr media
kevin abandoning jean at evermore.
Tumblr media
metaphorically, this could be how kevin isnt there anymore to protect jean from the ravens abuse (as he canonically used to distract them from jean's injuries), leaving jean exposed, or 'naked and alone'
Tumblr media
but oh no! whats this? kevin is now the #1 enemy of eau because he left the ravens? so if jean even tried defending kevin (unlikely) the ravens would call him crazy.
Tumblr media
moments of vulnerability exchanged between the two, when riko wasnt looking, 'a different beautiful boy leaning in close', etc etc
Tumblr media
how dare kevin leave jean stranded at the nest. safe from the moriyamas wrath if he left, yes, but stranded nonetheless
Tumblr media
but at the end of the day, kevin was the closest thing that jean had to a partner, since he was the only unpaired member of the perfect court before zane, at least. no matter what they went through, they went through it together, facing riko and tetsuji's wrath, patching each other back together. that is until kevin left
okay sorry for this spam, im just a little obsessed with them
tara my friend this is FIRE
The “waking up in blood” line is literally MADE for Jean,, Also the line “tell me I was the chosen one” has me thinking about how like okay Kevin and Riko were #1 and #2 for YEARRRSSSS before Jean became #3. He was the first person that infiltrated their little duo and I just imagine Jean fighting, trying to leave eau, feeling like he’s not good enough because he’s not used to playing injured yet. Feeling like Riko is beating him because he’s not good enough, he’s not as good as he is, or Kevin is. Maybe Kevin told him that he deserves his spot. He’s good enough to be court. They “chose” him, you know. Oh man.
Like I have so much to say but you’ve put this down perfectly!!! I agree with everything you’ve said!!!! this song is made for kevjean omg Taylor swift is literally a kevjean girlie

Can i request a angsty Kevin Nash fic (maybe with a little cameo of the kliq) but it has a happy ending?
Ofc
Chair hit
Pairing: Kevin Nash x Fem reader
Description: You take a hit for Kevin leading to you being injured badly
Tumblr media
You stand ringside watching Kevin's match along with the rest of the Kliq as he goes against Ric Flair, you cheer him on in between chewing on your nails and holding onto one of the boys mostly Hunter and Sean on each side of you. He had almost gotten the win but somehow ric managed to kick out, you started getting anxious as more time goes on noticing just how exhausted both men were as they landed hits on each other after catching their breaths until out of nowhere Sting appears leaving you all stunned since he had been out with a back injury for two months quickly noticing ric had a chair immediately sliding in the ring in front of a half conscious kevin as he swung the chair hitting you right on your head and face leading to the boys jumping in and a full on brawl happening until kevin who hadn't noticed you in the ring staggers and pins ric for the win turning to see you in the corner of the ring with blood pouring down your face immediately feeling his heart stop as he holds your face in his hands "Babygirl look at me fuck.." he lifts you in his arms climbing over the ropes with some help from hunter before all of them were rushing backstage to get you to the medical room leading to them all seeing the huge cut from the front middle section of your head to where your forehead just started showing. After the blood was wiped off and the cut was disinfected, you got seventeen stitches to close up the cut with kevin holding your hands as you quietly cried in pain as each stitch was carefully placed and the cut slowly closed with each stitch until it was done and after a few tests it was determined you also had a concussion before you and kevin went to your shared hotel room carefully showering with kev's help and laying down wearing shorts and one of his shirts "Why did you do that honey" he traces circles in your hip as you sigh "If I didn't you would have gotten hurt and you just recovered from the back spasms" he gently lifts your head looking him in the eyes "But sweetie you got hurt and it was bad, I thought you...I thought you were dying from how much blood there was" your heart cracks hearing the pure emotion in his voice and seeing it on his face as tears formed then flowed pulling him in your arms feeling the tears falling on your chest and the crook of your neck feeling the emotions swell in your throat and tears of your own flowing down your face "Dear you know I would never leave you in any way, shape, or form" the two of you hold each other before he gently kisses you as you doze off with your head in the crook of his neck.

Thoughts On: The Sunshine Court
by Nora Sakavic [goodreads]
Aka, if I didn't put myself on a social media blackout, these would have been my live tweets. Spoilers below.
Gosh. What if Jeremy starts to hate Kevin for not doing 'enough' to help Jean. That’d probably hurt him so bad lmao Though I don't really thing Jeremy gives off those vibes. He's too sunny.
Also, now I’m thinking of Jeremy being a very normal kid with a normal background completely unprepared to help someone with absolutely massive amounts of trauma. Like. This kid being like, look at my normal jock life and then suddenly is exposed to the dark underbelly of organized crime.
Like. With Andrew and Neil, Neil was already familiar and Andrew at least is familiar with how bad law enforcement is so it’s all a non-issue. Jeremy though… what’s his story???
Jean over here probably texting with T9 on a flip phone
Which fox uses T9, which one taps the number until it gets to the letter they want, and which one has a phone with a keyboard?
Have I mentioned that I love Renee? I feel like she’s often seen as an uwu good girl Christian. But like. She’s so badass. I think she said it herself that she’s a bad person doing her best to be good and you really get that with the “smile that doesn’t reach her eyes”. Fucking love her.
Okay the uni president thing is actually kind of funny. Because I work in an athletic department and it reminds me of when the president requested access to the team practice schedules so I was in charge of setting up an account in our messaging app with the instructions to grant him access but with absolutely no power to do anything else
Do you think Renee will put "Destabilized Evermore leading to its eventual downfall" on her resume when she applies to the Peace Corps? I know this is not how it works but....
We’re going to see the reaction to Riko’s death from Jean’s POV!!! I wrote a ficlet about this!! It’s gonna be so cool to see what really happens!!
Wtf Jean’s 19?!?!
I'm saying this like everything that happened to him wouldn't have been just as horrifying if he were Kevin's age. But like. WTF??? He's Neil's age!!
LMAO everyone wants to choke Kevin out
“You were injured in a scrimmage” DAMN. I did not expect that from Abby. She's so done with Jean's evasions
I was being kind of mean to Kevin earlier and now I’m going to cry. He was just doing his best too :( what can you do when you’ve been raised in the system?
Kevin, Neil, and Jean are in the idiot exy trio
It’s so fascinating to know that this was the version where Jean lived because you can see the parts where his life could have ended. Like if Abby left the pills. If Jean made it back to Evermore. If Wymack didn’t threaten Tetsuji.
The way that they’re (Neil is) playing 5D exy mafia chess is so extra 😭
Everyone really looking to Neil for their courage. Neil was brave so I can be brave (or at least follow him). What would Neil do?
Do you think the other exy coaches know exy was built on blood? Or at least that Evermore was?
Jean and Kevin in the corner at the party full of Ravens: They don’t know the extent of Riko’s violence
I’m starting to realize that Jean is a lover... [Redacted: This is getting it's own post because I have feelings about this.]
JEREMY!! HELLO!! I DON'T KNOW YOU. ARE YOU DEPRESSING TOO?
Jeremy is so normal. This is going to be so good. He’s literally going to be like “why did you say it like that? You know that’s fucked up right?” Call it like it is my dude!!
How the hell did they get the seniors on board with a smaller line up? They’re giving up a chance at a championship run... Ah.
Oh. He’s rich?? Jeremy is rich? With a butler? Is he secretly going to be tied to the west coast mafia? And taking Jean on will create a bond between east and west?
OH HE’S POLITICIAN RICH. Damn. You know there's blood money somewhere
Are you telling me that the sunshine court is a nickname between Kevin and Jean (and maybe some others? I don't remember if it was ever mentioned in the other books) for USC? And it’s typically called the Gold Court? Cause if so, they’re soooo starved
Do you think Jean knows (or remembers) how to use money? Since he’s been locked up in the Nest for so long? How many social norms has he forgotten? How awkward is he going to be relearning them?
Oh god. Jean found out from Jeremy! Holy shit I was not expecting that. Damn. Also. He's alone :(
Renee and Jean 😭
I’m so glad they talked about redshirting. I was SO confused why they could go five years when the rule is 5 years to compete 4 seasons.
Radiology equipment in their exy stadium?? Man I forget how rich some schools are
Watch Jean break out in hives the moment he gets on clothes that are outside the monochrome color scheme
Oooo Jeremy, show me your spine. I want to see him mad. I want to see him lose control.
And then I forgot I was taking notes because I was too absorbed. When is the next book supposed to come out again?

Treble
Tumblr media
for the city imagine, if you write for him could you do Bernardo Silva (if you don’t write for him) could you do Haaland? Bernardo Silva Word Count: 262 You were at the Champions league final in Istanbul, after completing the double they were ready to try and complete the infamous treble. You were up in the stands with Bernardo's family as well as your family.
You wanted to remember this incredible moment with them all. There wasn't much happening in the game, it was very quiet. Not many chances from either side, but Inter Milan were battling away as much as they could. The second half was now underway.. With Kevin De Bruyne going off injured just before the half time, gave a little bit of a lull to the match sadly. Then in the 68th minute, Rodri scored a wonder goal. You and his family celebrated just so much, you don't even remember much after that. The rest of the game you were feeling so anxious, practically snapping off your acrylic nails in anticipation for the game to finish. "Omg" you whispered as the final whistle blew. The girls celebrated as much as they could as they practically ran down the stairs as fast as they could get to their partners. "I am so fucking proud of you" you hugged Bernardo so tightly as you ran onto the pitch to celebrate. "Thank you baby, I can't believe we actually did it. Maybe this one is our good luck charm" you laughed as he rubbed your bump. "Maybe, I can't believe this happened. The treble, I am just so so so proud of you" you threw your arms around him as you took some photos to remember this incredible moment.

Tumblr media
My heart sinks into my stomach as the puck snaps the twine behind Cam Talbot, signaling the end of another Wild season. This one hurts more than the others. I rub at the ache in my chest, looking around at the other dejected family members. Slowly, I sink back into my chair, eyes searching the ice for Kevin. He’s on this side of the rink, bent over on his stick in defeat. The pain in my chest accelerates and I grip my shirt over it.
Another end to another incredible season without the cup.
The family lounge is silent after the game. Many of the wives with children have already filtered out. Prior to that, tears and sniffling could be heard amongst the group. Lauren and I sit together wordlessly on the couch. The wait is longer than usual, but when Kevin pokes his head in, he waves me towards him without entering further.
“See you soon.” I say to Lauren, knowing there will be an end of the year celebration where we can be together again, one last time, before the off-season.
The off-season. Kevin and I haven’t decided what we are going to do. We have been so caught up in the excitement of the post-season that our European plans have been non-existent. Plus, our house is in the final stages of being completed. We need to move our things there before we can consider leaving the U.S.
I shake my head when I reach him, having no words to soothe the deep frown on his face. His hands slide around my hips then we hug each other fiercely. I sigh, placing my lips against his cheek, noting the cut along his jaw and the slight bruising of his cheek. My lips run gently over the raised flesh, hoping to relieve more pain than just his cut.
“Home.” Is all Kevin says to me as he grabs my hand. We silently move out of the arena. A few of the Wild staff members tap Kevin on the shoulder as we pass them, a silent acknowledgement of another incredible season from him. I hate that it ended this way. I wanted him to have something to show for another career year. He deserved that.
Maybe next year.
We get in his car and exit the parking garage. Kevin tosses a wave to Gary, the parking attendant, then guides us towards home. I reach for his hand, lacing our fingers together and bringing his hand to my face. I can smell his crisp body wash on his skin. My lips linger on him until he looks over at me. He gives me a minuscule tilt of his lips before his eyes return to the road. Our silence remains until well after we have made it to our walk-in closet. Kevin’s movements to undress are slow at first, then after struggling a bit with his tie, they become angry and harsh.
“For fuck’s sake.” Kevin snaps, tugging harder so that his head thrusts forward. “Just cut this fucking thing off of me.” He turns to me, exasperation folding his eyebrows together.
“I think we can salvage it.” I whisper, gently working the smooth fabric out of the knot he formed. When it’s released and swinging down his chest, he stays still, just staring at me.
“I really thought this was the year.” His voice is soaked in disappointment as he speaks.
“I know.” I respond, reaching up for his non-injured cheek. He leans his face into my touch, then turns his lips to press into my palm. As he pauses there, I reach for the buttons on his shirt, undoing each one of them one-handed. He turns his head and watches my face as I do this.
“I can’t tonight.” He shakes his head at me, feeling the need for him in my touch. “I’ve got nothing left. You deserve better than that.”
“It’s okay.” I nod, continuing to unbutton his shirt. I help him out of his suit jacket then his shirt falls to the floor. I tug his belt apart before working on loosening his pants. They join the rest of his clothes on the carpet. When he’s left in his boxer briefs, I step forward, wrapping my arms around his body and holding myself to his bare warmth. The curly hairs of his chest tickle my nose. His arms tighten around me then I feel his body heave with a relieved sigh.
“You make everything better, baby.” He murmurs, lips brushing the top of my head with each word. I smile against his skin.
I’m just what the doctor ordered.
_ _ _
Maddie Spurgeon is a four year old on a mission. She’s hustling after the big kids who are playing tag in the front yard of her home. The end of the year party is in full swing and the Wild kids are making the most of the bounce house, face artist and dessert bar Danielle has provided for them.
I take a sip of my High Noon, lacing my fingers lazily with Kevin’s as I watch the four year old buzz around the older kids. She’s currently “It” and the big kids aren’t going easy on her. Her little legs pump insistently into the grass, hustling after Dmitry Kulikov’s son who is close to her age. He outmaneuvers her which causes Maddie to trip over her feet and land face first into the grass.
“Ooo.” I wince, watching as she slowly gets up. Her eyes meet mine, her lips begin to tremble and she lets out a wail. “Come here, Mads.” I call to her, handing Kevin my drink and walking through the circle of adults to her. “I know. That looks like it hurt.” She is sobbing by the time we meet. I swoop her up, waving Danielle off where she has her hands full with refills for the food table. I smooth Maddie’s hair down as her mom mouths a "thank you" to me. Fat tears slide down her red cheeks as she sucks in a wavering breath. “Can you show me where it hurts?” I ask her. She immediately points to her knee. It’s red and a little green from the grass, but her skin is still in tact.
“Ouch.” She whimpers to me.
“Yeah, that isn’t fun, huh?” She shakes her head no.
“I’ve been told big hugs can make things a little better. Should we try?” I walk back over to the group of adults as she squeezes her little body tighter to me. I hug her back tenderly, swaying us as we reach Kevin.
“We have an owie.” I tell him earnestly. “But, I think you’re going to be okay, ya?” I ask Maddie who shakes her head confidently.
“So brave.” Kevin encourages her with a smile.
“Kev. You gotta put a baby in her.” Natascia Foligno points to me with her beer bottle. “Doesn’t she look good with a baby on her hip?”
“You’ve never looked better, babe.” Kevin smolders at me.
“I think so too!” I say while bouncing the smallest Spurgeon on my hip. The hug has worked and her tears are dried to her cheeks now. “Watch how I multitask.” I point to Kevin then take a sip of the High Noon he gave back to me. “Future mom of the year material.” I wiggle my eyebrows at him so they dance above my sunglasses. Kevin chuckles at me. The rest of the group goes back to their conversations, but my husband’s eyes remain on me. They dance between me and Maddie, drinking me in. I flip my sunglasses up so he can see my eyes.
“What are you doing later tonight?” He asks me as I walk closer to him.
“Hopefully you’re putting a baby in me.” I respond, leaning forward to press our lips together. Kevin’s eyes remains open in surprise during our kiss. Maddie wiggles against my grasp. I set her down, watching as she hustles off to the rest of the kids. “See, all better.” I smile at him. His gaze slides down my body then to the side where the house is.
“You serious?” He asks me, tugging at my fingers. I nod earnestly. “Why wait until tonight? Let’s go now.” He whispers in my ear.
“No.” I laugh, pushing at his chest. “The team will know and we will never live that down.”
“I’m okay with that.” He shrugs, tightening his grip on my hips. “What if you change your mind before we get home?”
“I won’t. Plus I already pulled the goalie earlier this week.” Kevin pauses with his beer bottle on his lips. “So, if you don’t want to have a baby, you need to bring the goalie.”
“What! Really?” His eyebrows shoot up excitedly. My huge grin is his confirmation. “Yeah. I can’t wait. We gotta go now.”
“No!” I laugh as he pulls me backwards closer to the house. “There are too many people. Patience. Let’s do it right.” I finish with a quiet tone, bringing the sincerity of the moment back to our minds.
“Well, now I’m nervous.” He chuckles, looking away from me at the kids running across the lawn.
I wonder if he is envisioning ours with them like I am.
He still looks nervous later that night after we arrive home. He tosses his keys and wallet into the bowl by the door. His brown eyes study me as I go to the counter to filter through the mail that came today. There’s a card that looks to be from Switzerland, likely his Grandpa Jan. Jan likes to clip articles from newspapers and magazines that mention Kevin. He usually sends a card with them once a month with sweet notes about how proud he is of Kev. I smile at it, setting it aside for him as he comes to stand next to me.
His hand brushes along the small of my back, reaching for the belt loop on my shorts to pull me tight to him. His fingers slide across my skin in circles as his brown eyes watch me sort the rest of the mail. My green gaze slides to him and I bite my lip. For some reason, this moment feels more intense than I thought it would. Life changing. It isn’t just sex. Now there is an important purpose to the pleasure.
“You should open that.” I push the card closer to him still. When my eyes meet his, I’m taken aback by how he looks. “Kev.” I whimper as his lips find mine. His tongue instantly flicks into my mouth. We turn together, clinging desperately to one another as our lips move. His hands move from my back to my face, holding me sweetly as our kisses slow. He pulls away from me.
“You still want this?” His voice is thick with desire.
“Yes.” I say without hesitation. “Do you?”
“God, yes. So much, baby.” He grins at me. I smile back, letting out a light laugh.
His hands come to my thighs so he can lift me onto the counter. This is far from the first time I’ve been up here with him between my legs, but it might be the last. The thought makes me pause, reaching for his hands.
“Remember the first time you set me here?” I ask him.
“Like I could forget. Remember the next morning?” He wonders as he kisses along my thighs. “You came out here all dressed like you were supposed to leave.” My eyes slide shut, laughing and dissolving into the memory of us.
My sock covered feet are silent as I move down the hallway to the open concept living space of Kevin’s apartment. He doesn’t hear or see me coming. He is standing with his back turned to me, in front of a pan on the stove top.
“Fucking A.” I hear him mutter under his breath. The smell of something burning reaches my nose. He’s shirtless and wearing black sweatpants low on his hips. The Calvin Klein band of his underwear peaks out at me, momentarily pulling me back to last night, sliding that band down his hips and thanking the heavens for what was beneath.
The muscles of his broad shoulders flex in movement before he turns towards me. His eyes are watching the pan where I can see the pancake he was attempting to make has burned to a crisp. I purse my lips against the laugh threatening to escape my throat. I must have made a noise though because Kevin flinches as his eyes find me.
“Maybe a little less time for the next one.” My tone is teasing as I try to be casual, leaning against the island between us.
“Probably a lot less time.” He shakes his head, walking to the trash can and throwing the crisp, wonky cake in. “It can only get better from here right?” He jokes with me. His smile dims a bit when he turns to take me in fully. “Oh, do you need to leave?” He asks, gesturing to me being back in my clothes from last night.
“Ah…” I bite my lip and pull it into my mouth, not sure what to say. My eyes dance away from him and rest on the pan.
“Don’t be afraid of my cooking skills. There is always delivery.” His self-deprecating laugh is infectious and mine joins his for a few moments. He walks back over to the stove, setting the pan down before walking around the counter to me. I turn so he can pull me into his body. His lips press gently against mine, a distinct change of pace from the franticness of last night. When he pulls away, his brown eyes study me.
“I…” I start but trail off. I lick my lips, silently encouraging myself to just be brave. To acknowledge that I’m not sure what this is and that I don’t know what to do with myself in the brightness of the morning after what we did in the dark. “I’m just not sure… ah, I didn’t want to assume that I should stay.”
“I don’t have practice today.” He shrugs his big shoulders at me.
“Yeah, I… Well I know you don't have practice, but I didn’t want to assume you wanted me to stick around.” I add in a casual laugh at the end, like I couldn’t care less about staying or going. His eyebrows jump up in question. “I am not sure what the morning etiquette is. I haven’t had a one night stand before.” I focus my gaze out at the skyline because looking directly at him feels too risky.
Silence coats the room except for the sound of a door closing outside in the hall. Reluctantly, my eyelids flutter back to him. Kevin’s gaze meets mine with a depth of sincerity. His hand comes up, his thumb and pointer finger going to my chin. His fingers lead my face back to him. His lips brush mine affectionately causing my eyes to close. My heart pounds in my chest with the increased pressure of his lips.
“You still haven’t.” He says simply when he pulls back an inch. “You are not a one night kind of woman.” My green eyes watch him as he presses our lips together. I study every single one of his long lashes as his lips move against me. When his brown orbs appear again, I’m speechless.
Holy shit, forget just falling for him, I am in love with Kevin Fiala.
His hands come to the sides of my face, fingers wrapping around my neck. He places his lips on each corner of my mouth, then begins trailing kisses along my jaw bone, heading towards the sensitive nook where my cheek meets my neck. My eyelashes flutter with desire as he briefly sucks a slice of my skin between his lips. I tilt my face into his, forehead resting against his temple. He continues on towards my ear, tugging my ear lobe between his teeth. He releases it so he can speak.
“How about you walk back into my bedroom, take all these clothes off, and find something of mine to put on instead? I’ll stay here and keep messing up pancakes.” His breath causes the baby hairs around my hairline to dance with each word. The sensation makes goosebumps break out down my skin in the best way. I swallow and nod my head that I will. “Pick something easy to get off.” He encourages as he steps aside, patting my butt to go back down the hall.
I begin to head back into the bedroom. My fingers come up to my lips as my heart thud-thuds with each step I take. When I’m halfway back to his room, I throw a glance over my shoulder. Kevin is still standing by the counter, brown eyes feasting on me like I’m actually what’s for breakfast.
The same look in his eyes now dissolves the memory of us then.
“You could have left, but the damage was already done. I knew I’d have to make you my wife.” He insists to me. “Seems fitting I put our baby in you right here.” His mouth covers my swollen clit. His suckling intensifies causing my body to throb. I moan as he slides two fingers into me, tongue wiggling my bud just right.
“You’re so good at this.” I sigh, holding his face to me with a firm grip on the back of his neck. “Baby.” I cry to him as I come, inner muscles tugging his fingers deeper into me.
“I’m addicted to how you taste.” He kisses up my abdomen until he reaches my lips. “Sweet and sexy.” I feel the head of his hard cock slide into me. I’m so wet; I welcome his first thrust easily. Kevin’s shoulders relax in pleasure as he stands back up, tugging my hips off the counter. His hands come under my ass, holding me off the cool stone so he can hit the depth we both want.
I reach up his abdomen to hold his shirt away from where our bodies are connecting. My fingers feel every tightening of his core as he pumps into me. The love in my chest begins to expand like a balloon until I feel like I can’t breathe. He’s so sweet. And gorgeous with a kind, gentle soul. This. This is the man I want to father my children. I’m so grateful we found each other. With a newfound appreciation, I reach my hands down to his lower back to hold him closer to me.
“Stay deep.” I request and he obliges. His thrusts stay whole and consistent. I push my hips down into him with every pump, moaning my delight to him. He smiles at each of my noises.
“How did I get such a perfect wife?” He murmurs as he watches himself slide in and out of me. “So fucking perfect.” My nipples tighten against my shirt. He leans forward again, sucking one through the fabric. The barrier creates a different sensation that has me moaning loudly through my second orgasm. When the last wave has licked at me, he pulls out. His hand shoves my shirt up, exposing my stomach to him. His lips attach to me there, kissing all along the flat surface. “I’m going to be doing a lot of this. Hope you don’t mind.” He chuckles as he grabs my limp body in his arms. His dick strokes against my aroused lips with each stride. When we enter the hall, I reach back under my thigh to stroke him in my hand.
“Not at all.” I answer him, eyes lowered with lust as he brings us to the bedroom.
“Hands and knees on the bed.” He tells me when my feet hit the carpet. “I think this is the baby making position.”
“Is it?” I ask, not sure if that’s a thing.
“No clue. I just know you like when I fuck you from behind.” We both laugh and then he pushes into me, ceasing all noises for a moment.
“Ahh, I don’t like this, I love it.” I say to him when I can speak again.
His thrusts build a staccato tempo. I curl into the tension building inside of me again. It pushes against my inner walls, stroking a fire deep inside of me with each movement of him. I toss my head back, moaning loudly as my hair dances down my back. Kevin gathers it in his hand, giving it a gentle tug as he fucks me with deep, rapid thrusts, until I’m crashing into the depths of orgasm again.
Kevin follows me, thrusting to the hilt as his dick spills thick ribbons into me. He stays there, breathing jagged and rough, chest heaving. Eventually, his grip on my hips loosens, allowing me to flip onto my back. My breasts bounce as I position myself. Both his hands glide along my thighs to my hips. His thumbs stroke the edges of my stomach as he stares down at my belly button.
“Get to work kids.” He jokes as our gazes meet.
Four weeks later, we are moving into our house in Woodbury with a handful of professional movers. It’s 8 hours of work between moving out of the apartment, cleaning, and getting everything situated in the new house. The sun is beginning to set when everyone has finally left. Kevin and I are on the floor of our new living room, exhausted and slightly dirty. We are both laying on our backs, looking up at the large chandelier hanging above us.
“I hope that’s in the ceiling good.” Kevin jokes with me, reaching for my hand to entwine our fingers together.
“Probably is.” I assume, then let out a yawn. “I’m glad we had them set our bed up. It would suck if we still had to do that.” I slowly sit up, rubbing at my face. “Also, I am sore.”
“Honestly, I am too.” He admits, sitting up with me.
“That makes me feel better.” I smile, reaching for his cheek to pull his lips to mine.
Now is my moment.
“So… in all this craziness, I haven’t been able to tell you yet.” My fingers trail along his jaw line as his eyes open to search mine. His couple days of stubble pokes at the pads on my fingers. “I’m late.” He pauses, taking a moment to consider what I said. When the realization passes across his features, it brings with it a huge grin.
“Do you have a test?” I nod and he stands, pulling me up quickly. “Go, go, go!” He pats insistently at my butt with both his hands, steering me towards the powder room off the main area. I laugh, grabbing my purse from by the door and doing as he requested before returning to the kitchen a few minutes later. I set the test on the counter so we can watch it. We both lean together on our elbows over it, arms brushing against one another comfortingly.
It happens quickly, one line appears and then the second one begins to creep through. When we are sure it’s not a mirage, we both turn to look at each other, mouths agape.
“Holy shit. Babe, that’s two lines.” Kevin whispers to me. I clasp my hand over my mouth too overjoyed to say anything to him. My eyes are burning with hot tears as I start giggling uncontrollably. “Baby!” He yells, picking me up. I throw my arms around his shoulders, holding him tight as tears bleed into his shirt beneath my cheek. The happiness I feel is indescribable. “Oh my god.” He breathes to me, placing his lips against my head. “Are you okay?” I nod because I still can’t speak. “Sam, We’re having a baby.”
After a few more moments of my tearful silence, I pull back to see his face. He places my feet back on the wood floor. His hands wipe at my wet cheeks, brown orbs sparkling as they meet mine. I turn back to the test, picking it up to study it. Yep, there is no doubt about it. The lines are hot pink and persistent. A deliriously happy smile tugs my lips apart. Everything about our lives has changed in the matter of minutes.
“Kev, I’m so happy.” I cry, looking back at his face.
“Me too, babe.” He chews roughly on his lip as I can see the tears forming in his eyes. We share another amazed laugh and then tangle ourselves in each other. One of his hands comes to the back of my head then the other wraps around my lower back, holding me close to him. I don’t know how long we stay like that with each other, but when we finally separate, both our cheeks are wet with joyful tears.
“I love you.” He tells me, wiping at his face. I place my hands on both sides of his jaw, kissing him fiercely. “This kind of ruins my plans for tonight though.” He murmurs. “I was going to get you good and pregnant before the sun came up.” I laugh, closing my eyes in delight.
“Mission already accomplished.”
We spend the first night in our new home, celebrating our pregnancy with ice cream sandwiches and sparkling water on the kitchen counter. The champagne will have to wait. Then, it’s time for bed. After making love, we settle into each other’s arms, exhausted by the excitement of the day. My husband’s arms tighten me protectively to his bare body with the new knowledge that I’m carrying the most precious thing in our lives.
It’s hard to sleep, but eventually, my lashes flutter shut after the extraordinary thought that a year from now, in this moment, we will already be parents.

Guess who remembered reboot!Kevin and how he came from at-best neglectful (and implied downright abusive) home, ran away, and ever since has been at best actively failed and at worst fucking enslaved by every adult he’s associated with that wasn’t Max or Phil.
Hex is the best non-hero adult figure we’ve seen him have, for fuck’s sake. With OG!Hex’s history, his reboot version still manages to be a fucker you could technically leave a Kevin with with minimal worries! He was an asshole, yes, he tossed him aside, yes, but when everyone else was either actively using him or willing to throw him under the bus for their own benefit (yes I’m looking at you, Vin, you lost every single point when you not only went 100% with the Forever Dipshit’s child labor and abuse plans but also straight admitted you were doing it because your own family fucked off. I wonder why they did). He actually tried to teach him! He didn’t do a good job and clearly isn’t cut out for the role, but he tried, and when he decided he was done with him he was an asshole but still less than the rest of the fucking bastards by a whole order of magnitude!
Just, leaving aside the trauma Kev came into the show with, the amount of trauma he’s going to have around so much shit but especially adults is just- This is an 11-yo whose onscreen experience with adults ranges from ‘willing to kill me for stepping out of line’ to ‘willing to stand aside and allow me to be abused if it means they get invited to the 4th of July bbq’, I would be shocked if he ever actually trusts any adult at this point. Yes, even Max and Phil, Vin seemed great at first too, remember, but was perfectly willing to stand aside and let shit happen when it benefited him.
Fuck, the fact Kevin has worked with as many adults as he has so far- the fact he trusted any after the Forever Dipshit- says so much about his desperation for adult guidance and capacity for hope despite his awful situation. This is an abused child- if not before he ran away than 100% after- who has been used, enslaved, threatened with murder, over and over by adults he decided to associate himself with, but even after the fucking murdery asshole he still kept fucking trying. It’s heartbreaking, it really is.
And then, with the movie being the last time we truly see him as a child, we’re left having to assume that he finally internalized the lesson the show has been teaching him (it’s been teaching him several lessons and I wouldn’t be surprised if he was chiller with Ben and Gwen after the movie, maybe started more actively being an antihero, but this is one that’s less nice and positive). Of course, even when he may well be injured, even after everything that happened with the heroes and saving the world, he would decide to fuck off alone again- he ‘knows’ how adults end up. Better to stay on his own than to risk trapping himself with people who seem fine but may show their spots when his guard is down. Fuck, with everything he’s been through I wouldn’t be surprised if, even if Max and Phil treat the cousins well, he doubted that would extend to him over the longterm.
Just, I want so badly to wrap him in a blanket and give him cocoa and soup.

It’s cute to imagine the Scenario of Neil bleeding out on the field while playing and Andrew getting angrier and angrier because he sees the blood on Neil, and Andrew just wins the game for them?
He doesn’t let anyone make a shot.
He throws the ball into the other goal not once not twice but FIVE times
And now I’m going to write a short story for this.
E n j o y 🤍
Neil was darting across the field trying to get the ball. He knew he shouldn’t be going as hard at the beginning, but he felt so free and energized he didn’t care.
Neil goes to reach for the ball but he gets shoved into the wall with so much force from the other guy he could almost see stars, the guy immediately got a yellow card because of the unnecessary violence.
Abby, the foxes nurse immediately had Coach pull him off the field so she could look at him.
Andrew’s worried eyes followed him, inching to check on Neil, but Andrew knew if he moved now he wouldn’t be moving toward their side of the field but their opponents.
He squeezed his fists together, his fingers inching for his knife right now. It seemed that Andrew wasn’t the only one with this thought, half of the tear was glaring at the player who did this.
Neil brushed it off tho, telling Abby he was fine to play, but she always heard this from his mouth so she didn’t listen to him, so Neil stands up, gently brushing Abby, Renee, and Nicky off of him, as he grabbed his gear.
“Listen, if I don’t play right now I will lose it,” Neil didn’t even give them a chance to object he was already on the field getting in place. Everyone looked at him worryingly, but got in place. The only one noticing the blood on his face was Dan, but the game had already started so she couldn’t say anything until they reset.
Neil ran for the fall as his opponents tried to shot but Kevin was able to catch it in time and run off the other way.
Neil turns to run, but he hears his name for the gritted teeth of his goalie. Neil tries to place the stick in his hand in front of him, but he knew Andrew could see all the blood running down his face.
“Neil…” Andrew warns, feeling his body temp rising as he watches the blood run down Neils face.
“Why are you still on this field?” He demands stalking toward Neil, forgetting all about his position on the field, for the boy he loved.
Luckily, when Neil looked to the other side, Kevin was tossing the ball to Dan.
Andrew grabs the base of Neils mask, forcing Neil to look at him.
Andrew could only see red. Literally and metaphorically.
Blood covered Neils face, but Neil pulls back, shaking his head at Andrew, who was now planning an exy players murder, maybe two if Neil doesn’t get off the field to get help, like he should have been doing this whole time.
“Andrew, I know it looks bad-“ Andrew cut the idiotic player off.
“Bad? You have fucking blood everywhere,”
“If I don’t play I’ll lose it, I need to be here, and I am staying on this field, I don’t care what anyone says right now.” Neil was benched from the last two games because of his injures and he’ll be damned if he doesn’t play this one.
Neil yanks himself away from the goally harder than he met to and starts backing up to go help his team.
“I’ll sit and listen to you bitch about this later, but if you make me leave this field right now-“ Neil knew he didn’t need to finish the airless threat for Andrew to understand what he was saying, Andrew wanted to object badly, he knew one look from him to their coach and Neil would be pulled, but he hates when Neil loses his cool more, he doesn’t happen often, if actually ever, but when it does it scares everyone including Andrew, so Andrew angerily goes back to his place.
Everyone could see how angry the goalkeeper was, but no one said anything as he didn’t allow anyone to make a goal tonight.
Andrew even scored the winning points. Causing everyone to cheer and run to the end to meet him, but Andrew was already stalking toward Neil. Andrew grabs him by the elbow, fingers digging in Neils skin a little to hard as he shoves him off the field and into the medical box.
“If he comes out of this room still bleeding I will lose my shit.” Andrew storms out of the room, detoured to the locker room where he quickly throws off his gear and grabs his knife. He had to deal with that scumbag.
Kevin enters the room, realizing what was happening and immediately changed and followed silently behind Andrew. He knew he couldn’t stop him, but he knew if Andrew needed help he needed to be there.
It didn’t take Andrew long to find the player who did it to his boy, he grabs him by the shoulder slamming him into the wall.
“You think you’re tough playing like that?” The player goes to say something, but when he feels the knife cutting his playing arm he grunts in pain.
“This is the only warning you get, you mess with my striker again, and I will kill you.” Andrew leaves one more cut along his wrist, before punching him directly in the face, insuring he has to deal with exactly what Neil has to now, before he goes back to his team, still pissed off.
Neil runs into Andrew and Kevin on the way back, but the look on Andrews face he doesn’t want to ask.
“I’ll deal with you when we get home.” Andrew growls passing by Neil angrily.
Neil knew what this meant too.
He wasn’t going to be sleeping tonight.

Helloooooo!
Fantasy AU? 👀 Can we know more about the Midam fantasy AU? 👀👀
Tumblr media
(@savoryoatmeal)
ok my fantasy au is more about the archangels than midam specifically, but um basic idea:
the archangels and heaven are a lot like canon, except it’s all located on earth instead of. a different plane of existence?
its the usual set up of michael being the strict eldest, lucifer being the black sheep, raphael is the healer/more gentle sibling, and gabriel IS there + he’s close to the younger angels/sort of distanced from michael + lucifer
the main plot point is that lucifer stages a coup that the others don’t learn about until it’s. already in progress. lucifer’s main goal is driving the angels out and michael, who would usually be able to fight him off, is injured in the process
so basically that all leads to michael having to leave to get backup, but he gets hurt AGAIN, this time he’s almost killed by lilith
adam, a random citizen of a nearby village, happens to stumble upon an unconscious michael just outside of town and even though he has serious issues with heaven + the power they exert over humans, his moral code as a healer requires him to help michael, so he does
michael eventually wakes up, startled, and ofc immediately tries to leave, but he’s still in such a bad shape that adam just looks at him like 😐 yeah nice try
adam just wants to help michael enough that he can fuck off and hopefully won’t kill adam, so the first day or two is very tense as michael is pissed about not being able to help heaven
slowly, though, they become a little more friendly. michael tells adam about his siblings and heaven, and adam tells michael about his mother and how she inspired him to become a healer
as michael gets better, he starts planning again, and adam starts correcting his misconceptions about humans
they come up with some sort of plan to break into heaven and free the angels still held captive there, and adam suggests joining forces with some humans he knows (kristin and kevin lol) who can help them break the spells lucifer has up
(lucifer has warding up against angels, which is slowly poisoning the ones still stuck there, but not against humans (who he’s converting to demons with angel grace) or archangels (because. he’s an archangel) so they have better chances with human allies than seeking out angel reinforcements)
a lot of other stuff happens besides that. gabriel is off with the majority of the angels, hiding from lucifer while trying to plan out some recovery with kali, raphael is maybe still at heaven? idk i haven’t gotten that far lol. but yeah :)
basically the whole au is this playlist

Section of Unfinished SamiJey Fic By Shanie
I never got around to finishing this. After Sami's elbow got messed up immediately following Summerslam, it felt weird to write a story that involved Kevin being injured knowing that Sami was likely already messed up at the time as well.
But now that Jey is on Raw and they no longer are tag champs, this feels like a safe topic to write about again.
So until I can get it finished, have a snippet of what I DID write before I stopped.
The working title of this fic is "Brothers and Bloodbonds"
......
He’d made a point early on to always locate the suite in the building when he arrived and, while he’d never admit it, on more than one occasion had requested a room swap to something close enough to maybe catch sight of his old family.
It hadn’t taken long for Kevin to figure out what was going on and, after Kevin had caught him behind a corner watching Jey as he caught some air on a public balcony near the master suite, he’d gotten hell for it.
Even if Jey did want him around, lurking in corners watching him wasn’t the way to go about seeing him, regardless of Sami’s intentions.
Although, when Kevin asked him what said intentions were, Sami hadn’t been able to answer, but then how the hell was he supposed to tell his partner that regrets about leaving Jey behind in the Bloodline and laments about how Jey had chosen Jimmy over him were keeping him up at night? How the hell was he supposed to tell Kevin that seeing Jey, even from afar, was the only time the bullshit in his brain truly shut up? That keeping tabs on Jey and always knowing where he was and that he was ok was the only thing keeping him sane?
No, Kevin didn’t understand, especially when following Jey around kept getting Kevin hurt instead and Sami resigned himself to asking the other superstars what room the Usos and their little brother were staying in. And, once tensions began to flare between the Usos and their cousin, Sami started asking the front desk. Sami had always felt like the trustworthy sort but the ease with which he usually got the information made Sami wonder if Jey wasn’t saying something upon check in.
He wanted to think Jey was.   It was doubtful at best.
But, regardless, it was another night in another hotel and once again, Sami knew exactly where to find Jey Uso.
