Sitting down to floss and brush my teeth has been lifechanging. On a completely unrelated note how the fuck am I supposed to have this skeleton for several more decades. It’s all over for me lads 😔
#knees hurt. hips hurt. back hurts. wrists hurt. swag#it’s not this bad most of the time but by the end of the day it’s like auuuugh#it really is too bad that I’ve got extreme doctor fears because of the IssuesTM!#and oh yeah I don’t have health insurance LOL…#which I am using as a convenient excuse to avoid going to the doctors LOL#i have some doctor ~traumas~ I think LOL!#im working up to it. it’s glacial. sometime this year maybe?#I went twice as an adult and both times were for health forms for college enrollment#I’ve been to the ER and an urgent care once or twice though so clearly I’m FINE…#this is BAD do not be like me#but it’s only become clear to me in the past year or two that the incidents in my childhood reeeeally affected me#and to have US healthcare be such a profoundly difficult and punitive process basically means I am just never going to like jump through#those hoops only to be confronted with a severe phobia lol#im not saying that’s a reasonable train of thought but it’s more that that’s my subconscious reasoning#but it is a 2024 goal to get seen by a doctor#but the other thing is that it’s so fucking clear to me that they will do NOTHING for either PMDD or my joint pain which are my chief#complaints at the moment#but like i should probably be like getting routine panels and Pap smears :-(#everything’s SO EXPENSIVE…#They’ll be like give me your blood. ok all normal everything is healthy. ok that’ll be literally $200#:-(#ugh I’m upsetting myself just thinking about doctors. ok Goodnight#(with full intention to keep scrolling)

saw this fancy thing on pinterest and at first was like ooh that looks fun! and then i realised it was just a fancy holepunch and my excitement immediately went down and it basically is a thing you can use to make holes for binding books? which is still cool + accessible for people who want to do it but don't know where to get equipment. but i was like hey man i wonder how expensive it is. and its a hundred and fifty dollars. so i think i'll just buy a book actually.

Palestine is calling for a global strike from the 21st - 28th of January 2024.
Here's a helpful guide on what you can do to participate in the strike, with alt text (also written in Read More). Even if you can't do it all, do the most that you can.
1. No Work
Don't go to work. Don't go to classes. Call out. Talk to your colleagues, organise it together. If you cannot strike the whole time, do an hour together in solidarity. Walk out. Put up signs on your desks and anywhere visible, let people know about it.
2. Be Visible
Wear clothes and bags in support of Palestine. Make signs, banners and similar eye-catching gear. Walk around with them, position them in your window, on your desk, anywhere it's visible. Hand out stickers and flyers and infographics.
3. Don't Buy Stuff
Prepare and buy what is needed beforehand. Avoid going to stores, don't buy anything online. If something is needed, stay visible (see #2) and avoid companies profiting from Israel's crimes (follow the BDS boycott and check out bdnaash.com). Do not buy luxury items or anything not urgently needed for survival.
4. Let the World Know
Talk to media about the strike. Post about it online, on social media and anywhere you can. Talk to people in your life about it. Invite people to strike with you. Spread the word as far as possible. Take part in local action.
5. Avoid Leisure Activities
Don't go to watch a movie or eat in a restaurant. Skip the drinks after work and don't try a new class right now. The goal is to be disruptive, hit the economy and be noticeably absent. If you cannot, follow the above: stay visible, stay loud, keep talking about Palestine.
6. Help Each Other
Ask unions for help. Cover for somebody, engage in mutual aid. Plan for disruptions. Don't try to be perfect - it makes you more likely to give up altogether. Do what you can and help others do what they can. We're stronger together.
7. Shut Social Media Down
Use social media only to spread posts about Palestine. Scroll past the rest, don't engage. Don't post anything else. Don't use apps otherwise. Let Palestinian content flood the online world during strike days.
8. Whatever You Do, It Counts
You can't do it all? That's ok. Find ways you can take part in it. Post on social media, use common hashtags (#StrikeForPalestine #FreePalestine #CeasefireNow). Write a song, make art. Turn your knowledge into informative posts that can be shared. Be the voice of the silenced. The more you can do, the better.

I just realized that this month's Strike for Palestine coincides with Aromantic Awareness Week. As someone who is Actually Aromantic, is it ok to reblig Aromantic posts and Palestine posts or should you only talk about Palestine?
Hello! Thank you for checking in about this.
The global strike for Palestine is coming up folks! It's from February 18th until February 25th, 2024. I know many of us are already actively boycotting, creating and sharing content about what is happening in Palestine, and many of us are demanding ceasefires through varying forms of activism -this global strike is, once again, to concentrate our efforts of protest and the original thread I created addresses some of the ways in which we can all participate.
The global strike for Palestine is focused on boycotting brands that are either profiting off of or are benefiting from the genocide of Palestinian people -our commitment to this strike and ongoing is by continuing not to support these products/brands; the heart of this strike is not to contribute to the economy in many ways (such as not working, making non-essential purchases [only if absolutely necessary of course], organizing protests and demonstrating support for Sudan, Palestine, and the Congo, and more.
The OP who started this protest spoke about buying groceries in advance as well as paying our bills and rent prior to the strike, and apart from donating when we are able to -to buy esims to send to Gaza. The OP of this thread highlights solidarity and community during this strike, and for folks who are interested in learning more, I have attached the original post I made.
And a part from the fact there are Palestinian folks who are part of the queer/ace community, posting about Aromatic Awareness Week doesn't conflict with the goals of the Global Strike for Palestine. Of course you can re-blog content about this, just as I will continue to post content about many issues and events around the world. If someone is posting getting their lattes at Starbucks (which is a pressure boycott right now), or buying from Puma or hp (those are part of the consumer boycott lists right now) -they're the one's who are complicit in supporting companies and brands that are unethical, have blood on their hands, and with whom are complicit in the dehumanization and deaths of many people in communities around the world.

Things are about to get very busy. Any projects you begin will move quickly, with few if any, delays. The results will likely to be successful so long as you keep your head, and don’t get distracted.

the events of 15/04/2024 || monday
I feel like I could have done far better today and I can actually pinpoint where the problem is, i realize that after I complete washing plates and cooking I lose all energy to walk or exercise and every other task after that is just a lot harder for me so I’ve decided to start working out earlier in the day - like by 6am since that’s the time my sister gets ready for school and after working out it’d be time for family prayer so after family prayer instead of going to wash plates I will start walking instead and after that, I will continue my day from there and see what happens and I’ll update on here tomorrow - other than the fact I keep falling of track the day was ok

I don't bother to translate stuff that NJPW is likely to post official translations of later but there's one part in the new Desperado interview that's so good I'm gonna make an exception.
Desperado, please tell us about your outlook and your goals for 2024.
Despe: In 2023, I was able to fight in many different places, and work together with many different people, and it was too fun and too stimulating, so for 2024 I want to broaden those horizons even further. I'm not saying I'll do something crazy like wrestle at Big Japan (Pro Wrestling) or anything but if you were to ask me "What show do you want to appear on the most?" I'd answer "BAKA GAIJIN" (grin)

EGL goals for 2024
as 2023 is coming to an end, I've decided to compile my future goal regarding lolita fashion in 2024. 2023 was the year that I got into gothic and lolita, so I've got a lot of goals to achieve in 2024.
1. Sew more pieces
Unfortunately, I couldn't collect/sew a lot of pieces this year as I was very busy with the school. Now I'm in art school and have less work to do, I can assure that I'll be able to sew more pieces. I've planned a lot of sewing projects for 2024 and i'll hope to finish them early (or middle) of the year.
2. Experiment with visual kei elements
More specifically, Kote kei elements. Whether that be coords inspired by specific vkei bandmen, or just taking common elements from old school vkei/Kote kei looks like those specific shironuri make up, or those hairstyles and etc. Visual kei was the reason why i got into EGL and i always wanted to take inspiration from vkei looks so I'd make sure to do that in 2024
3. Add Gobelin pieces into the wardobe
more specifically, gobelin printed pieces (since i can't get my hand on the floral gobelin fabrics that brands used lmao). I LOVE the look of those gobelin pieces sooo much. it reminds me of those vintage armchairs (some lolitas call it the "grandma couch aesthetic" and i find it kinda funny) and it's also the reason why my love for classic lolita grew on me. I've planned three project revolving gobelin printed fabric and i'll hope to do them in 2024
4. Get into ero lolita
Despite how controversial the substyle is, i love the look of ero lolita. It reminds me of how gothic fashion looked back in the 90's and also a lot of gothic visual kei bands like Velvet Eden, and Schwarz Stien. The problem i might face is that i don't have much experience working with leather and im not sure if satin will works out, but i'll hope that maybe at least i could do a ero coord in 2024
5. Start blogging
I know blogging is out of fashion these days but after reading many blogs of other lolitas, i've also been interested in blogging for a while. Not only i'll be able to discuss many topics regarding EGL, i can also use blogging to improve my writing skill most specially my english writing skill
6. Experiment with old school "ita" aesthetics
I honestly love the look of the "lace monsters" of marble and visible. Despite how it can be over the top and sometimes "ugly" or "weird" or how most lolitas see these coords as the "bad coords", it wouldn't hurt if i add some "lace monsters to my wardobe", even tho they can be a sewing hazard xD
7. Start a youtube channel
this one is the one i'll doubt doing since i perfer using "lesser known" social medias (look i use twitter only to keep up with vkei news ok??) but after watching cynical neo princesissm youtubes videos and falling in love with them, i was inspired to possibly do the same thing. I love the "low quality old web videos filmed on a 2000's digital camera" aesthetic of her vidoes so i might to do a similiar thing. I do have a 2000's digital camera that i used for my coord and lolita items pics for my websites so maybe i could use it to film some aesthetic videos with it.
Anyways these are my lolita goals for 2024. i'll hope i reach them by the end of 2024.

Namjoon's fs

I have to say, as I connect with their energy it feels very mellow and calming right now, very beautiful and blue/violet/purple. Namjoon’s fs is currently focused on their purpose, re-evaluating what their purpose is and what they want to achieve. Setting goals - this could be due to the new year, but it feels like this person is being very specific about their goals this year. I want to work for X, I want to earn exactly X amount of money. Also, they are being more vocal about their resolutions than before. Reassessing personal relationships.
Jin's fs
4 of cups, death
Struggling to make choices right now, not having the ability to see how things will work out for them in the future. I feel like Jin’s fs is struggling to even make a simple decision right now, for example choosing what to wear or what to have for dinner, whether they should meet up with their friends or not. Their energy is currently dark blue and silver, or at least that is what it looks like to me. Likely to be in the middle of a transformation, things falling apart and no reassurance that it will all be ok in the end - feeling lost.
Yoongi's fs

Moving away from feeling anxious, stressed and even isolated? Before the world may have felt a bit dark and like there was no way out but now this person is understanding their energy and their place in the world a bit better. Putting things behind them. Coming to terms and making peace with past decisions whether they were good or bad. Understanding that they can’t change the past and instead looking towards the future for options. Their energy seem to be turning more and more white and I connect with them.
Hoseok's fs
Knight of cups, judgement
Genuinely embracing life and manifesting the life that they desire. Hobi’s future spouse is very focused on their manifestation abilities and on making their dreams become their reality. They know deep down that this will happen so their energy is very easygoing. It feels very sage green and cream. A very reassured energy, they know that when the time comes they will make the right decision because they trust themselves. Excited for new projects.

blog 1. happy birthday
welcome to the new cat comic blog! if you're reading this on tumblr, hello! if you're reading this on neocities, i love you more. page looks pretty snazzy, right? check out the very pretty melankorin.net, this page looked a lot more plain before i ate that page's design aesthetic.
ok.
it just so happens that yesterday, the 13th of april, 2024, was cat comic's first birthday. this comic is officially one year old! goo goo ga ga! it makes me glad and more than little scared that i've been working on this for so long. it's my longest-lived project to date and still going strong, which means a lot coming from my bloody trail of abandoned projects.
what the hell is cat comic about?
cat comic is a story born out of a lot of my fears vis-a-vis my creative projects. it's a story about creation, whether that deals with art, identity, or culture, and about the history that doggedly stamps itself on any creation, and about the problems of indie projects. it's a story about a cat and a dog and some other various animals who get into lots of trouble, and it's mainly a story about the end of the world.
i think you can tell that there's a lot of throughlines to my other work (unfinished or otherwise), which is pretty thematically appropriate. actually, cat comic was originally reusing far too much of eyrie, an old comic idea of mine. eyrie followed an aspiring paladin and their little buddy as they made their way to the shining capital of a theocratic nation, delving into a mirror world that reflected public perception of things along the way. it was a pretty fun concept.
anyway, it informed a lot of cat comic's original premise—it began with an ascent from belowcloud to a shining city in the sky. huh... sounds familiar. like eyrie, it also dealt a lot with divinity, mirrors, and perfection (as in: perfection in the eyes of society, not cat comic's current sense of it). it's fun looking back at these early drafts of cat comic because you can clearly see all the influences i was pulling on, big or small. i was pretty fine with doing this because, as it pains me to remember, cat comic was to be a "fun" and "short" project where i could "do whatever". haha.
cat comic's changed a lot since then and it's also hardly changed at all. a lot of the original ideas are still there in the batter, but it's also evolved into something pretty different and much closer to my heart. and it will continue to change and evolve! although perhaps not quite so drastically as it has over the last year.
what's the plan with this thing?
i had a conversation with a friend a while ago (hiii ardenna i know you're reading this. love you) about our respective story projects and our problems working on them as single creators. i don't have a team for art or writing—it's all me, babey—and that means everything about this project is going to take what we in the industry call a "long time".
this time next year, i want to have a comprehensive plot. that might sound like a lot of time for not a lot of work but believe me i need it—i'm doing a bit of a unique format for this story and i want to put the time in to make sure i stick the landing with it. my secondary goals for the next year also include finalizing designs for all of the main cast and making sure they're all fleshed out... basically, by next year, i want to be able to start actually drawing the comic. i don't want to start drawing it then but, just, you know, be able to.
as of last week, i've handed in my senior project (and passed with flying colors, thank you), which means i can start turning my attention to things other than that. i've already talked a bit in my 2024 blog post about my plans for the year and how i would like to devote the rest of the spring to exercising my comic muscles. i would like to stick to this plan, despite the fact that school is trying to murder me.
right now, i only have vague ideas of what those exercises will be. once i'm completely done with my senior project (report handed in at the end of this month) i'll start workshopping them. again, my priority with them is not telling a story so much as working on coloring, panelling and figuring out my workflow.
and, apart from my year-long goals and season-long goals, i just want to flesh out these pages a little more. i kind of rushed getting these up because i wanted to hit the birthday (and i didn't even manage that LOL). i want to get some more of my brain bits out on canvas! but they never tell you how hard it is to figure out how much you want to share and how much you want to keep to yourself for now. i'm making little lists and i think i'm doing a pretty good job.

Somehow I topped my word count from last year by 10k, which I was not expecting. That said, this year was right about average.
What’s your own favorite story of the year?
God this is a hard question this year because I wrote a lot of fics I really really love. For one single fic I'll go with Nova, Baby, because I love the story and I've got a lot of lovely feelings about it.
Did you complete your writing goals from last year?
The Goal: I want to complete a few large multichapter fics, which will probably mean my one-shot production goes down.
I completed one long mulitchap, and then a few mid-length (~20k) multichaps. I think I wrote more of those than I have any other year. Surprisingly, my one-shot production wasn't super significantly decreased.
Do you have any writing goals for the New Year?
Ok, I gotta come up with something. My goal is to have a similar mix of fics as least year, and also to write my first collaboration with @cricketnationrise, which will be a long multichap.
Did you take any writing risks this year?
Wrote on a topic outside my wheelhouse (therapy 😬) and also posted a fic in a fandom where there weren't a lot of fics in similar genres (action/spies). Now that's no longer true, but at the time it was really freaking nerve-wracking.
Story of mine most under-appreciated by the universe, in my opinion:
Every fic I write in a fandom that's not RWRB? 😅 It's hard to complain too much, especially considering what happened to my numbers this year.
Most fun story to write:
All the Old Showstoppers, Will You Brie Mine?, You're the Perfect Gift for Me. Silly RWRB boys being silly, basically.
Biggest disappointment:
Again, I feel like it's hard to complain when I have a fic that's closing in on 4k kudos. The goalposts keep moving, don't they, though? I still live in fear of pouring my heart into a multichap and having what will count as "lukewarm" reception, when before this year I didn't have a single fic above 1k kudos.
Biggest surprise:
Most definitely Please Don't Let Me Be So Understood. Like I figured it would do pretty well (I hoped, since I put so much into it), but holy shit?? I still can't really believe it's on page 2 of the tag by kudos? And honestly also Always Where I Need To Be, this little one-shot about David stealing glasses.
