Your advice about negotiating specific usage terms when selling artwork is very good. More clarity is always better, and it's always best to spell these things out clearly when it comes to commissioning and using artwork.

For whatever it's worth, those of us who contributed work to the original tarot deck project in 2019 did agree to very specific usage terms with the original person who ran the original project (a limited print run of a single edition of that deck, with all copyrights retained by the original artists)

Unfortunately this new version of the project was transferred to a new person, who attempted to completely disregard them.

Hello, artists of wrestlblr If your art is being sold in that tarot card deck without your permission, I would highly suggest doing a DMCA takedown when those pre-orders go live if the art isn't removed. If you need help filing a DMCA claim, I can help point you in the right direction. You don't need a lawyer to do it, but it's an option you should seriously consider. It sucks to go that route, but you do have protection rights under your works, so exercise them. Please.

My artwork was also included in this deck without permission, notification, or payment. I've since asked for it to be removed and I do expect it to be. But I only found out my art was even being used in the deck by stumbling across this tumblr post.

You're absolutely not alone in your feelings about Moxley not bothering to do the tour. It comes across as disrespectful to the promotion. But it's also a logistical issue for New Japan specifically, because of how they're structured. And that's something that I think a lot of people who don't follow NJPW might not realize.

AEW is a wrestling TV show that also makes money through audience ticket sales. But NJPW is a wrestling promotion that makes most of their money selling tickets to shows, and makes some additional money through other means like smaller TV deals and their streaming service.

In NJPW, it's important for the wrestlers to show up on the tours, because that helps sell tickets to the shows, and that's the way NJPW primarily makes its money. When the champions don't bother to show up for the tour, that doesn't just feel disrespectful to the fans - it also makes it harder for NJPW to sell tickets to these shows.

And that's an issue even if the champ himself isn't particularly popular - part of the fun of the Road To shows is watching the storyline build towards the big matches at the end of the tour. When the champ doesn't bother to show up for those shows, that removes a big part of what makes those tours so engaging.

The thing with the IWGP title story right now is it really does start back into last year. The current feud over the belt is centered around Ren being so obsessed with Shota after turning heel that he's ruining every chance at the big title. He cost him his NJ Cup. He interrupted Mox calling Shota out to stake his claim. This is even more intriguing when you know that Shota has been trying and *failing* to win a title, especially after naming himself the new Ace of the company. There is a very good chance that he breaks the whole failure thing to overcome his mentor and win the title. Either that or Ren wins it by cheating and gets his first singles win over Shota with the belt on the line. The belt doesn't need to be in fucking AEW being defended for no reason when there is a massive ongoing story about it. I am probably alone in this, but if Mox was in Japan working the current tour, we'd be slightly less salty. For example, if you're going to hold the title, at least do the tour for it. This is not the first time this has happened. It happened with the tag belts when FTR held them. It happened with the US belt when Kenny had it. At no point has AEW sent a belt to NJPW to be held there. So this is an ongoing problem and it really sucks.

I have already been feeling pretty down about how NJPW is increasingly being treated as a subsidiary of AEW. But I recently realized that two-thirds of the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship reigns have been by wrestlers currently signed to AEW. That's Ibushi, Ospreay, Okada (twice), Jay, and Moxley.

Interestingly, the remaining third are or were all in LIJ - Sanada, Naito, and Takagi.

Suzuki posted this last week- it's a bit late, but it was such a cute story that I wanted to translate it anyway.

It rained in Chicago yesterday. I was getting stir-crazy stuck in my room but... today, the weather's clear! I went for a light jog before lunch. For one hour, so about 6km, I gradually progressed while looking at the scenery and listening to music.

As I was jogging, someone in a right-turning car at a red light honked their horn and yelled something to me. Hm? What's that? "AMAZING! I can't believe I'd see Suzuki somewhere like this! We're going to go watch you on Friday! What an exciting day!" they shouted to me. I never expected someone to call out to me on the side of the road like this. I'm surprised they could recognize me. But there's a long line for the light so you'd better go! lol"

Suzuki has been a freelancer for a very long time, but when Strong Style disbanded he announced that he'd be shifting his focus elsewhere. He has wrestled on a NJPW show since then, but he's been doing a lot more wrestling elsewhere.

Last song: Recently I've been listening to The Birthday a lot while working. Kaminari Today gives me powerful Sasaki vibes. (A couple other faves are Kusottare no Sekai and Sayonara Saishu Heiki)

Favourite colour: That whole mint green, sea green, sage green, moss green family

Currently watching: Delicious In Dungeon and Bravern! The Delicious In Dungeon anime adaptation is outstanding and really captures the feeling of the manga. Bravern is a very fun and unique mecha series (created by the guy who designed NJPW's IWGP World Heavyweight Championship belt) - if you want to watch it, I highly recommend not reading anything about it beforehand because the surprise twists and turns are a big part of the fun. Bravern just recently ended, so the whole series is available to watch.

Spicy/savoury/sweet/(sour)/(salty): I'll go with salty aspirationally, because I'm supposed to increase the salt in my diet. But I do have a sweet tooth, I do love umami flavors, and I do have a growing appreciation for spicy foods.

Relationship status: Very happily partnered

Obsessions: I managed to turn my fixation on Japanese pro wrestling into a fixation on learning Japanese, which has been very fun even though I don't have any particular aptitude for language learning.

I'm also obsessed with beetles, especially species in the Scarabaeidae and Tenebrionidae families (scarabs including stag and rhino beetles, and darkling beetles). I currently have three pet beetles - two blue death-feigning beetles and one smooth death-feigning beetle. Someday I want to raise a stag or rhino beetle from a grub to an adult, but I haven't attempted it yet.

I also love wooden tall ships, especially square-riggers.
