as a writer (and a big disclaimer) | i also used rpf (hockey players & racers) as characters to fill up my stories. otherwise, i really like to write about a bunch of teenagers who like to save the world. it saves my addmind a lot of time to imagine a specific character. i sometimes write romance between them as a side-story but i'm more in the adventure/sci-fi/detective genres now. the hockey players in it are just a treat for me as it invokes nostalgia and/or they are literally a nod to my faves as players or racers.

A Wild piece of world building, where different human races are a) established and b) done in such a way that there are generations and centuries-old animosities between them. Like the creators? Put this? In there? AND clearly imply that the racists are the ones making society so fractured and dangerously shitty???

Also a dead on hit, pushing back against the "but where are you REALLY from" question. Putting it it a game and having the character/person who would normally have to grimace politely and smooth over such a microaggression, ACTUALLY REACT ANGRILY AND STAND UP FOR HIMSELF? AND prompting you to stick up for him too!

Okay okay so they DID put 300 level socio-racial concepts & commentary in the game. In this videoed game where I can dig in trash for clothes and recycle bottles for money to buy action figures...I continue to be further Fascinated...

AYAKS to be fair to aleksey... he has to be the most... intentionally intensely dramatic motherfucker that has ever tried to challenge him. the funniest fucking thing- does he know how obvious he is? sure, politicing isn't exactly- it's the fucking backbone of much of the fatui. there are those who can't be bothered with it, almost exclusively lower ranking. but... culling those who express a certain, ah, ambition. well, that'd just be a waste.

& besides... if they can make good on it? yeah, exactly.

so ayaks smiles, & it's not as fake as he'd have let it be. the fucker just keeps going. the entertainment value is honestly as good as the ignition of anger deep in his bones- both could have kept him nailed to the spot on their own. blinking slowly, lazily through the slits in the agent's red red mask. unable to keep his mouth from twisting, crooked, curved when it shouldn't be. this should be infuriating, but it's just kinda...

     don't usually like putting people in their place.

     aleksey doesn't seem to realise that he's making      the prospect uniquely satisfying.

ayaks' palm lands heavy with camaraderie. on a shoulder- tugs him in. nose to nose & this grin... "this is the part where i take it outside." a twist of motion, as fast as he's willing to be - just a dash of delusion to have the agent's back to his chest & an arm twisting too far. "'it' being you. so let's go, agent. let's have it."

Arien opened the portal back to the Earthrealm, his was at hell… literally… he was at the NetherRealm doing his expeditions, he decided to steal something.

Arien stole Quan Chi’s books from his library, but he replaced them with fake books, he did the replication using his magic, but it’s temporary.

Arien- now let’s seee… which Quan Chi spell should I learn first? Hmm…

When Arien was reading the books, he heard something behind him

Arien- who’s there?

Heavy smell of Quan Chi's favorite sweet incense filled her nostrils as her foot led her down the hall. Despite wrapping her hair in a towel, drops of water were still dripping down on the mahogany carpet. Ombra's hand slid down her collar and reposed her breasts in her bra before she caught a warm light emerging from the library's slightly open door. Not even Quan Chi himself leave the door open when he's inside; beside for being a very organized man he is.

Ombra took the lightest steps she could to reach the doorframe. She squinted slightly at the sudden change of brightness, but it didn't prevent her from swiftly scanning the towering bookshelves for the sight of any stranger figures; until she spotted a dark haired man facing one of the bookshelves at the far end of the vast hall. Ombra marched in his direction.

"Who's there?" The man asked, causing her to stop.

She leant on one leg and put one hand on her hips. "I'm amused by how you managed to pass the guards." She glanced at the familiar tomes spread on the floor. "And by how you assumed he won't recognize the fake spells in those." Ombra focused on her hands, preparing herself for any sudden attacks from him or his crew - if there was any - .

"You're not from Netherrealm, are you?"
