Ok so in a stunning "Apollo gives the gift of prophecy to a random person" incident, I want to get off my chest that I wrote George making a chimera/"all animals in one" stamp into a fic outline back in like October of last year. And the whole idea was it made the user go absolutely feral, so George was like "well this is good data but not actually very helpful, needs more work." and shelved it for later.

I actually wrote like the last 2 thirds of it? The reason I stopped working on it was that the Wakabayashi reveal happened in the show and he was integral to the piece.

Screentime For the Prince

You know how in the original Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, each character's true nature is revealed by what they choose to treasure?

You know, Grumpy treasures safety because his true nature is vulnerable, the Queen treasures beauty because her true nature is ugly, and Snow White is the only one who's treasure is as true as her nature: pure love?

And how the Prince only gets around 5 minutes of screentime, and in those 5 minutes, proves that he A) treasures Snow White's true nature of pure love and B) keeps his promises?

Well, I was thinking. In the new Live Action, they're basically writing in a different male character in place of the Prince and not focusing on any kind of love story. So it's not actually "Snow White." But what would a good, faithful, beautiful adaptation of Snow White look like? (You know, one that actually does adaptations correctly--like Cinderella 2015?)

What should they be doing with the Prince?

I have a general idea below.

I mean, they can't introduce him in the same way they did in the classic animation. Obviously modern people aren't used to so much nuance in their big-screen fairy tales anymore; 5 minutes of screentime isn't enough, we prefer Mr. Darcy & Lizzie Bennet-levels of couple-building interactions, at least. And that's okay.

But it means we have to fill in a lot of the blanks about where this Prince comes from and why he values Snow White's "pure love nature" so strongly.

So I figure, in my head, it might look something like:

The Prince (let's call him Walther, German for "Walt," since basically everybody who worked on the original movie agrees that it was Walt's big brain child, and the popularized "Ferdinand" is not only fan-made but makes me think of a kindhearted bull) is the heir to a neighboring kingdom's throne.

Prince Walther isn't King yet, not because his parents are still King and Queen (they're dead,) but because tradition states he can only take the throne once he's come of age. Prince Walther's like 17, turning 18. So instead, his kingdom is essentially run by this council of busybodies, with one Regent holding the throne until he's old enough to take it. Something like that.

(the picture is of Dean Stockwell who's the son of the original voice actor for the Prince, I think someone who looks like him ought to be cast.) Prince Walther experienced pure love from his parents, who treated him like a normal boy and didn't place much emphasis on courtly manners or politics when raising him. But then they died tragically, leaving their honest and innocent son to be raised by a bunch of old people who put way TOO much emphasis on those things.

Because everyone in Prince Walther's court has had to handle being next-door neighbors to the Wicked Queen's country. They're all super political, and afraid of appearing weak, and therefore, very insincere. That's what I'm saying.

Everyone he interacts with on a daily basis never comes out and says what they really want. Nobody is genuine. He lives a life of hearing words like, "good morning Your Majesty, I hope you slept well. The Grand Duke could certainly stand to sleep better; the poor fellow looked run down at breakfast." but learning that what they actually mean is, "The Duke is getting old and ineffective and when your birthday passes you should decree that he give his land and resources away to me."

And he misses the genuine love the court used to feel from his parents' kind, simple way of ruling. No political games, no complex feuds. Plus, he misses the personal love they shared as a family, genuine, uncomplicated. He missed the days when people just say what they really want, unafraid, so that their rulers can take care of their needs.

Then there's the problem of why Prince Walther's in the Wicked Queen's realm in the original movie--that's not his territory, if he has his own kingdom.

So I think it would be neat and interesting if the Queen wants Walther's land. Maybe she invited his parents, way back when, to a kind of audience to negotiate an alliance. Then she got jealous of his mother's beauty, maybe even tried to seduce Prince Walther's father, and assassinated them both when he rebuffed her. Oo, maybe even the Huntsman (her FAITHFUL Huntsman) helped her do it all those years ago.

But she didn't realize they had a young son, so she couldn't just raise her hand and say, "Hey Neighboring Kingdom, it's too bad your monarchs both mysteriously died--don't worry, I'll be your new leader" because Prince Walther's council suspected foul play (they always do, they're suspicious people) and were preemptively like "NO NO WE HAVE A PRINCE, WE HAVE A PRINCE! We're fine, we don't need help, everything's fine."

So she sort of had to stew on that. Maybe she even tried a couple more halfhearted attempts to get their throne, and they just never worked out--then eventually her attention was occupied by how much older her stepdaughter was getting, and how much prettier.

Anyway, Prince Walther asks for an audience with the Wicked Queen; he's about to become King, and he knows that the council fears their neighbor, and he sort of wants to go over and size the next-door ruler up for himself. So he rides over with a little delegation of the members of the Court he can actually tolerate the best, and is visiting.

It's not fun. They're only there for a day, but the Wicked Queen is definitely scary. For one thing, she's unnaturally beautiful and everyone he brought with him is either stupefied in her presence or terrified. He himself is very confused by her; he's an open-hearted guy, with a touch of naïveté even though he was raised with good intuition and doesn't trust the Queen. All audiences with her are full of all the formal, double-and-triple meaning conversations that he hates back home; except worse, because she makes everything seem more sinister.

So after a particularly weird conversation with the Queen where he can't decide if she was flirting with him or threatening his kingdom, he goes for a ride around the courtyard to clear his head. And what should he hear, like a breath of the freshest air since his parents died?

A pure, beautiful voice. A young girl singing--and not just singing about anything, but singing about what she really wants. Genuinely. Her heart's fondest desire--and it's not power, or land, or even freedom. Just love. She's singing loudly, like she doesn't care who might hear such a vulnerable longing.

And he climbs over the wall and sees this scullery maid. She's absolutely beautiful, even though she's dressed all in rags, and he loves the picture of her: sharing her heart with doves, who feel completely safe with her, and not having to worry about what anyone thinks of her.

He sort of eavesdrops on her for a little bit, and in this part of the movie, maybe we learn how impulsive he is. He just jumps over and tries to join in. Maybe it's even a little funny. And we can stretch out the feelings behind the part where Snow White runs from him--that feeling of her being unsure of a stranger, not because she worries about what he thinks, but because it's so surprising that anyone is taking notice of her so abruptly at all. And she doesn't know him.

Maybe he asks to extend his stay at the Queen's palace and keep negotiating or whatever, but he really just wants to get to know the scullery maid better.

Then the romance is sort of still fast, but built in a way that the audience can sink their teeth into. The Prince and Snow White have a few more mutually-agreed-upon meetings, not necessarily hiding them, but just in breaks between courtly audiences with the wicked Queen. They're both enamored with each other: she's never been treated so kindly by anyone and his whole faith in pure, innocent love and uncomplicated, genuine people is being restored just by talking to her. They bond chiefly over missing their parents.

Eventually he learns that she is the Queen's daughter--maybe from the Huntsman, maybe from Snow herself in an innocent way. He's stunned that she's treated so poorly, but the second he learns it, he confesses that he loves her and he wants to take her away from there. Plus, this solves the whole "will my kingdom go to war with the Wicked Queen or be allies even though we can't trust her" diplomacy thing--Snow White is her heir, so it would be a beautiful twist of Providence that the girl he has fallen in love with can also be the alliance of peace for the kingdoms through marriage.

Snow White accepts his proposal, but she's afraid for a moment that her stepmother won't allow it. The Prince urges her not to be afraid: he'll take her to his castle and they'll be happy no matter what: he promises it, he gives her his word, he encourages her not to worry because he won't let anything stop him. It's lovely. She finally has someone she can gift her superpower of pure love to, and someone who can treasure her like she deserves.

Problem is, the Queen overhears this last conversation, right after learning that Snow White is the new "Fairest of All" from her mirror, just like in the original film.

So while the Prince is convincing his council that he's proposed to Snow White, the Queen's largely-unknown secret stepdaughter, and is going to reveal the fact to the Queen tomorrow, the Huntsman and the Queen herself are plotting the assassination attempt that eventually leads to Snow running for her life and living with the Dwarfs before she ever gets the chance to see her betrothed again.

Then the movie unfolds largely the same way it did, but with more dialogue and nuance strengthening the original's main themes: Snow White is pure love in nature, and that's everything the Prince has been missing, and he fulfills his promise which she has total faith in. And along the way, the Dwarfs learn to care more about protecting an innocent girl than they care about protecting themselves, and treasuring a person over jewels. Grumpy in particular. And the Queen dies because she's a jealous witch who's self-love has twisted her into something ugly.

Basically, what I'm saying is, there's a way to make the Prince compelling for audiences who are now used to more fleshed-out interactions in movie couples. Just give him a background that is longing for pure, uncomplicated, innocent love. Then when he runs into Snow White, who's never been treasured and valued since her parents died, they give each other everything they've been longing for--and then they have faith in one another when circumstances, both funny and sinister, force them apart.

It's like the Notebook (just in story structure)--you build up romance in the first act through a few poignant scenes, but then the rest of the movie is about waiting for that romance to be fulfilled.

Anyway. I guess I could've said all this more succinctly, but I was kind of making it up as I went. 🤷‍♀️

• and when you give a fierce tug you see he's not naked like you originally thought but wearing YOUR clothes instead

Summary: The first date with you and Pierre Gasly/

“So I assume you’ve got the date all planned?” Charles asked Pierre as they sat down on Lando’s couch after grabbing a drink each from the kitchen.

“Yeah, what have you decided on doing?” Max himself was curious, wondering what magical thing Pierre would end up doing for you as an actual date.

“Oh, I was thinking of just taking her to that little cafe on the corner by my place and then maybe an ice cream and a walk along the docks” Pierre beamed at the idea, hoping to keep the first date super casual, relaxed, truer to who he was.

“Is that all?” Lando was less than impressed by the date he had planned for the girl he already seemed to prove he was willing to go to greater lengths for.

“What do you mean is that all?” A wave of insecurity suddenly overcoming Pierre.

“Well, I mean, she definitely seems like the kind of girl where you should be putting in a little more effort you know?” Charles was slightly disappointed in what his friend had come up with, knowing that he had definitely put in a lot of effort for girls he did not care for in the least, and then this is all he does for you, he was definitely disappointed.

A panic suddenly overcame Pierre, had he completely fucked this up?

“Oh my god she’s going to hate the date” Pierre was suddenly frantically wracking his brain for a new plan, completely throwing the original one out, “Jesus, what the fuck do I do?”

“Hey, hey, lets calm down, we can come up with something new, when’s the date?” Daniel asked, already thinking about what contacts he had to get Pierre into some of the more upper-class restaurants of Monaco.

“It’s fucking tomorrow” Pierre was now up and pacing. He had blown his date with you before it had even begun.

“Well, that’s a bit fucking soon” Max was even feeling a little stressed for Pierre.

“Okay, no, no, this is fine, I’m sure between the five of us we can figure something out” Charles was immediately doing damage control, “firstly, absolutely no to the diner”

“I know someone who can get you a reservation at the hotel de Paris” Daniel offered up

“Call them” Charles instructed, Daniel immediately leaving the room, phone in hand.

“We need to organise a car to pick her up” Lando always had his go to company, knowing how impressed women were whenever he sent one.

“Also, a massive bunch of flowers, maybe even a necklace?” Max had always made a girl smile with a beautiful diamond necklace.

“Yes, yes to it all, Lando, organise a car as soon as Daniel gets back with the reservation time, Max, call a florist and whatever jeweller you can, something fancy okay?” Charles was divvying out responsibilities to the group, “Now, lets sort out what you’re going to wear” he directed towards Pierre.

“The Cannes suit was pretty good. No creases?” Lando offered up, wondering if he had that pressed.

“Yes, that could work, is that good to go?” Charles again directed to Pierre.

“Yes, yes, no that can will work” Pierre was beyond thankful for his friends, how they managed to save him every single time when it came to you.

“Reservation made for 7pm”Daneil walked back into the room with the suggest look on his face, made all the worse by the sigh of relief let out from Pierre.

“Lando, you’re up” Max got the younger lad moving, as he himself finished picking a bouquet of flowers, making the sure the florist could get it done in time for them, then moving onto the necklace, “listen, we want  gold or a silver?” Max asked, presenting the options to the group at large.

“Gold, obviously” Charles picked on behalf of Pierre, “Like, lets be honest, we got to show these girls we can spoil them don’t we?”

All hummed in agreement, knowing the lengths they had to go to in order to keep women interested or else they would simply be whisked away by the next millionaire in Monaco.

“Car is set, is there anything else we need to sort out?” Lando asked, sitting back down

“Other than basics, I think we just sorted out your perfect date in a matter of half an hour, now was that so tough?” Max laughed at Pierre, who looked visibly less stressed than he did a few moments ago.

“You got the flowers and necklace?” Charles asked over the phone, doing one last check on Pierre as he stood outside the Hotel de Paris as he waited for your car to pull up.

“Yeah, everything set” Pierre reassured Charles, “do you think she’s going to like it all?” Pierre allowed himself a moment of insecurity.

“What girl wouldn’t” Charles assured Pierre, always shocked at how nervous you seemed to make his friend, “Listen to me, you’re going to have an amazing time, I promise, she’s going to love it” with that the boys said their goodbyes, anticipating your arrival any second.

Next minute, Pierre saw your car drive up and he made his way down the stairs to open your door, fixing his jacket as he did so.

As he opened your door and helped you climb out, he was mesmerized by your beauty, you really were the kind of girl he pictured himself settling down with. He considered himself so lucky to have found you so soon in his life. He looked at you like you had put the stars in the sky yourself.

You on the other hand looked, embarrassed?

Oh god, what had he done wrong?

Pierre kissed your cheek and began leading you inside, “hey, is everything okay?” he sheepishly asked, concerned you didn’t like where he had picked for your date.

“No, no, everything is perfect” you awkwardly replied, “just, I guess I’m a little under dressed, was expecting something a little different” you admitted.

“You look absolutely perfect, I promise” and he meant it. Pierre was pretty sure you were the most beautiful woman he had ever seen.

You on the other hand couldn’t ignore the obvious looks of disapproval from the other patrons at your obvious attire faux pas.

“Thank you, just, when you said it was going to be casual-“ you began explaining yourself as Pierre pulled your chair out for you and you got settled.

“Oh shit, didn’t I let you know that things had changed?” It had suddenly dawned on Pierre that he had never informed you of the date change, you specifically having asked how you should dress, and now here you were sitting in one of the most expensive restaurants in Monaco in a very casual outfit.  

“You did not” he didn’t miss the look on your face, suddenly realising how embarrassed you must feel, God he felt awful, “you really do look great though”.

He beamed at the compliment, almost making you be uncomfortable something you could ignore if he was this happy.

Finally, something good, this was going well, just one little mess up, but he could get past that.

“Well, I uhm, got you something” he handed over the necklace, expecting you to be ecstatic, and you seemed it, before you actually opened the gift.

Once you had seen the ostentatious gold necklace though, he watched your face drop, before being replaced with a forced smile.

“Oh, it’s lovely” you feigned your adoration of the gift, and truly, you were thankful for the fact that he thought to get you a gift, but the gift itself, was really over the top.

“I’m so glad you like it” Pierre sent you a soft smile, too nervous to actually realise that this was all too grand for someone like you, your own tastes being lower key.

You were beyond thankful when you had been interrupted by the waiter, giving you an opportunity to put the gift to the side, ready to place a drink order and hope the evening would get better with the Pierre you thought you knew from the races.

“A bottle of dry red please, and for both of us the chefs special when we are ready” Pierre had taken charge of the order, deciding what the both of you would be having without ever consulting you.

This wasn’t the date you were expecting.

This wasn’t the Pierre you thought you knew.

Thank goodness you’d spoke to your friend about potentially giving you an emergency call to get you out of there if needed.

‘Oh my god is he still talking about himself?’  You rolled your eyes as you poured yourself another drink, not wanting to be rude, but truthfully, this might be the worst date you had ever been on.

“Oh, and then she’d asked if she could have my number, but obviously I said no” Pierre continued telling a story that the boys had suggested, stating that girls want a guy that other girls want, so he pulled out every single story he could, desperately wanting you to fall for him the same way he had for you.

You did nothing but chime in with a hum every now and then, with minimal interest, more captivated by the glass in your hand than this ridiculous display from Pierre.

This was definitely not the guy you had fallen for.

“Your dinner” the waiter placed your food down in front of you and oh my god had he really just messaged someone? Seriously? At dinner with you?

This was the last straw, honestly, you had so hoped this evening would be better, but clearly Pierre was not the man you thought and quite honestly if he was going to be this rude, well then, so were you.

Thank goodness for the wine.

“Listen, forgive me, but I should go” you gave him no room to argue as you just got up and began walking out of the restaurant, purposely choosing not to look at him, embarrassment further creeping into your bones, as had been the theme of the entire night.

“Wait, Y/n-“ Pierre was immediately getting up and charging after you, trying to pay as quickly as possible in order to catch up to you.

By the time he did you were already halfway down the street.

“Y/n, wait!” he shouted after you. Fuck, why were these shoes so fucking awful to run in, “what, like, what’s going on, where you not having a good time?” Fear set in, what had he done wrong, wasn’t this what all women wanted?

“Pierre, like, okay, truthfully, I’m not entirely sure this is going to work out” you didn’t stop, not really wanting to have this conversation in public, but eventually you found him in front of you, stopping you from going anywhere, determined to talk it out.

“Wait, but why, like, I thought, I don’t know, like, fuck, I just really like you” he knew he was waffling, but you walking out was not part of the plan, he didn’t know what to do.

“Pierre, I just think we are really different people and you clearly want something different” you gestured over to the hotel, and then to yourself.

“No, like, you are everything I want, I just, fuck, I just wanted it to be the perfect night” he was officially out of ides, maybe dating just wasn’t for him, he just wished he didn’t have to hurt you in the process.

“Your idea of a perfect night was not telling me we were going somewhere super fancy so I literally rocked up in chucks while you’re in a suit, embarrassed out of my mind, then giving me the most ridiculous necklace, so what, you could prove you had money, ordering for me, like I cant decide that for myself and then literally doing nothing other than talking about yourself and how you just reject girls” you knew your tone was harsh and you were 100% prepared to blame that on the wine, but in truth, you were disappointed in him, “Oh, and to top it all off, you sat on your phone, what, messaging other girls?”

“No, this isn’t my idea of a perfect night at all” Pierre looked more disappointed than you felt.

“What do you mean?” Why had he done all of this then if this isn’t what he wanted?

“Honestly, I wanted to take you to this little café near my house. When I first moved here, it was the first place I went to grab something to eat, and they made this meal that reminded me of exactly how my mom used to cook it, it’s one of my favourite places in the world and its relaxed and we could have spoken because all I want is to get to know you better and I know all the people who work there and I just wanted you to experience it and then I was going to take you to get ice cream, because it’s your favourite dessert in the world, choc mint right? And then I wanted to take you on a walk on the docks, because there’s this really great game I used to play and I’d pick a boat and give it a new name and like, imagine all the places I’d go with it and it, I don’t know, kept me motivated to achieve my dreams in F1 and I guess I just, fucked it all up” Pierre tried to explain it all to you, knowing that he had already ruined it so there was no harm at this point, “for that date, you’re dressed literally perfectly” he really thought you were, God, you were beautiful.

“What the fuck Pierre! That date sounds fucking perfect! Why didn’t we do that one?” how had you ended up on the literal worst date in the world when he had planned all of that?

“Charles and them got in my head okay! They said it wasn’t good enough and then they got me this reservation and said I should get you this necklace because like, girls only really like us for our money and that I should just talk about how girls want me because that’s going to make you want me more and girls like assertive men so I should order for you and fuck, I was on my phone because I was messaging Charles telling him how amazing I thought you were” he rushed through the explanation, desperately hoping you’d understand why he did what he did. “Oh, and honestly, I forgot to tell you about the date change because I am so fucking nervous of messing things up with you , which I clearly did anyway, and I completely forgot” he threw his hands up, having officially given up completely.

You were laughing. Holy shit, you were laughing, there may be a way to salvage this.

“You took advice from the same boys that said I would show you my boobs?” you were now laughing uncontrollably, inciting laughter from Pierre as well.

“They’re pretty shit at advice aren’t they” he could listen to you laugh for the rest of his life. “What are the chances of me getting a do-over?” he sheepishly asked.

“I am literally starving so, I’d love to see this café of yours” you couldn’t stay mad at him at all, “I do juts have one condition”

“Anything” and Pierre meant it, fuck, if you wanted him to buy a yacht for you he would at this point.

“Just considering your track record of how bad you are at doing the right things in important moments, I’m just letting you know now, when you drop me off at home at the end of this date, I am expecting a kiss at the end of all this” this was definitely the wine making you brave.

Pierre stopped in his tracks, a new wave of excitement and fear coursing through him, “You want me to kiss you?” bewildered eyes met your own.

“I mean, only if you want to?” you suddenly felt self-conscious, fuck, had you messed this all up?

“I mean, all I can think about is kissing you” God, did he really just say that?

Making a Roguelike adventure (for Himbos!)

A few months ago a young man put up 38 transparent neon NES and super NES game cases on marketplace. I bought them, completely unsure of what I would do with them, but sure i had to have them. Obviously, my first thought was “limited print rpg something something”. I’ve also wanted to release something to support Himbos recently since it’s, like, a really good game and it deserves my love and attention. So maybe something video game inspired? Like a classic RPG style project? No, that’s been done a lot by people more attached to those old game than me. I knew I also didn’t want to just make a dungeon because I have a back burner project that is a big dungeon for Himbos that I’m hoping to get out by the end of the year. SO THEN WHAT.

I often have intrusive design thoughts while falling asleep. Things like “pvp face-off game” (vis-a-visage) or “time travel discord message editing game” (someday). A few weeks ago, the intrusive thought of the night was “Roguelike adventure generator”. Roguelike adventure generator? What do those words even mean. How does adding Roguelike to the classic idea of adventure generators change what it does? Well, it turns out im gonna try and figure it out. Or rather, I have been trying to figure it out.

For me, the thing about Roguelike video games, is the balance between the overarching narrative, buffs/powerups that make you feel like your progressing and random obstacles/environments/problems that occasionally repeat elements. The generation part is the easiest for me, breaking down the elements that an adventure needs to go brrrrr. For me this came down to Landmarks (fun environmentmental elements), Problems (adventure hooks), NPCs, Events/Complications, and then some Critters. What I didn’t want to do was just make a bunch of tables to roll on. I love a good table, but one of the things I love about randomly generated video games is the potential for a level to be strangely easy or just really overwhelming, so I wanted a way to change the amounts and rations of the elements being generated. I suppose i could have done something where you roll a d4 for each element to determine how many of them to include in a run, but that feels so uninspired and why not over complicate something when you can!

Enter custom tokens. Any tokens could do, really, but the idea of tossing a bunch of tokens onto a table to generate an adventure brings me joy! Originally, I thought this would just mean gleaning information from face up or down, each type of token representing one of the elements involved, giving a randomized number of NPCs or Problems and such. I then realized that there was another axis that could be accessed, that of rotation. The tokens could be read like tarot, as upright or inverted. Face up or down could also indicate a different state beyond simply present or not.

Ok, great, so level (adventure) generation sorted. But what about the overarching quest. How do you finish the whole thing?

I’ve recently started playing a game of Apocalypse Keys by Rae Nedjadi. It’s a great game, that takes the mystery mechanic from Brindlewood Bay, which I have priory been associated with through playing The Between. I love it. Everytime I encounter it I am reminded that, as a player, it is the single most fun I’ve had interacting with a mechanic in any game in recent memory. Each game does it a little differently, but the idea is simple - the players collect clues or hints, and when they feel like they have a good idea of what’s going on, they present their theory and then roll to determine how right they are. In Apocalypse Keys, the clues are extremely evocative vignettes that are all themed to the mystery at hand. But I’ve always wondered what happens if they were completely random. The wonderful thing about the mechanic is that the players will absolutely figure out a way to work each clue into their theory, they will justify that most seemingly random bit of information is ways previously unimaginable. So, it might actually work if random, or, for the application in this design, as more broad and less specific to the scene at hand. The clues have now become the reward for finishing the level at hand, and because giving your players a unique and special piece of equipment is always fun, i’ve linked them to Objects Of Power the entity causing the glitch has left behind. It’s important to remember that all this is for Himbos of Myth & Mettle so OoPs are things like a small box that emits exciting foley sounds when your character is in combat and the visions (clues) that you see when you grasp it for the first time range from images of rat kings to slightly more lewd moments between hidden figures.

The loop as it stands now - Generate level through tossing tokens and rolling on appropriate tables, characters hunt for Objects of Power, and the clues they hold to the larger mystery of the regenerating, repeat until characters feel confident they understand (again, Himbos, the theories will be wild), roll to see if right, and if so move on to a final confrontation with the entities they’ve designed, or they fail and must return to collect more clues till they come up with another idea.

I finally got around to printing some test tokens and attempting to generate a level. Behold, the first session of Bugbears of Unusual Size and Other Tales:

DBS Super Hero Reaction

I finally watched Dragon Ball Super Hero. Here’s my thoughts.

I think it’s weird that in a movie with the term “Super Hero” in the title, that LOVES to make overt references to the past, we don’t get any mention of Great Saiyaman 1 / 2. Of course, it’s all an allusion to Gamma 1 / 2 as Tokosatsu-style heroes.

Honestly, it’s really fun to see Magenta POV from the outside looking in and telling us what some people THINK is going on with Capsule Corp. I imagine he put this together from the scraps of information that he could glean from Dr. Gero’s observations. It does track.

People know about Nappa and Vegeta arriving. The Saiyan’s pod ended up at CC. And it would be easy for people to spot the Namekians living in Capsule Corp. So, you could conclude that Bulma is getting access to Alien Tech. But, Magenta also assumes that the Capsule technology is rooted in alien tech. As far as we know, it isn’t. And then Magenta jumps to the conclusion that CC is paving the way for an alien invasion… without evidence.

Obviously, Magenta is biased. Being a military organization, everything looks like a battle. He can’t contemplate that the Saiyans and Namekians are essentially refugees, and CC is just being philanthropic.

Overall, the movie is just fun! It has those original Dragonaball references for old fans like me, and the Tokusatsu stuff for the younger audience (in Japan). They are being cheeky with the Goku and Vegeta stuff. Whis forces them to fight without transforming because they had no idea what was happening in the manga. (They made this movie in the middle of the Granola arc, even though it takes place AFTER it). So, they couldn’t show off Ultra Instinct / Ego.

As I like to say, the movies are just more, and this movie gave us a bunch of really great Piccolo scenes. Him chastising Gohan, pretending to be a Red Ribbon solider, all the stuff with him and Pan. The main event fight doesn’t start until about an hour in… so, we get more time of them NOT fighting than fighting. I love it.

This is Piccolo's movie... and I don't want to hear any BS about "Piccolo is Gohan's real dad." As much as I like Piccolo. Piccolo spends half the movie telling the audience that Gohan isn't good enough. Then at the climax, Piccolo just expects Gohan to find it in himself to defeat Cell Max. Which is the the EXACT same thing Goku did during the Cell Games! Except Goku ALWAYS believed in his son!

With that all being said… I kinda wish this wasn’t canon.

Mainly, because as good as the set up is, the conclusion feels unearned. It might be a consequence of being a movie, but (in my opinion) when you have two big character developments, at least one of them should feel triumphant.

First, it irks me that Piccolo wishes to unlock his hidden power and Shenron “throws in something else.” Why can’t it just be his hidden power? Now I’m wondering what the fuck that symbol is. And this is the second time someone has WISHED for a power-up. It feels really lame and unearned. It kinda sucked when they did it for Super Saiyan God, then it sucked again when SS Blue just happened. Now, we have Orange Piccolo on that list.

Maybe they’ll explain it better in the manga, but what made SSj1 (and SSJ2 to a different extent) was how well they seeded them before they appeared. (SSJ3 sucks because they didn’t build up to it correctly.)

My theory is that it's a mix of Ultra Instinct / Ego, but it still doesn't explain how he managed to tap into either of them. You could say because Gohan talks about practicing the "demon drill" in secret, he's also been training with UI-UE in secret too.

Then there’s Beast Gohan. 25 min into the battle, Piccolo gets bodied, and Gohan rages out. I’d like to know why this isn’t just the SSJ2 transformation? What is this transformation? Where did it come from? I have my theories… but from a narrative perspective, it’s just a dues ex machina. SSJ1 was not a dues ex machine – it had real ramifications after it happened. Beast Gohan appeared to resolve the plot and then disappeared.

They need to do what they did with Slug and say - that wasn’t a real transformation. Then actually explain what "Beast Mode" is supposed to be.

7/10 – The spectacle is great, but the best part is the first half. Feel free to leave your comments (and theories about Beast Gohan) in the comments below!

Road to Cream64 v1 Part 2: All in the Family

With the main player model ready to go, it was finally time to get to everything else. Starting with Peach herself, it was time to get Vanilla into the game.

To start, I had to get an idea on how Peach was rigged and this was something I had to mostly do on my own. Fast64 has an import tool to grab models and their rigs straight from the game itself, so you can (kind of) easily swap models out without having to change anything else, so long as everything was put back that is.

Mario 64's T-Poses are not traditional ones but rather they come imported as a crumpled mess, like so.

Here's Peach's for example. Mario is just about the same, as well as a bunch of other enemies and stuff. Don't get me started on Bowser, we'll get to him much later. But generally once you have it imported, most people would uncrumple the T-Pose to get an idea on where everything else. This is very intimidating at first, so you make a save where it's already uncrumpled. There's another method that you can use to guide you but, again, I'll get to that later.

So here we are, after going back and adding her proper "Princess" textures. Stuff like the crown and the jewel on her chest are taken straight from Peach's model, but everything else was remade from scratch. Get it as close as her original outfit but still keep it very princess-y. Now to get her back in that crumpled state we saw earlier.

And there we go, she's ready to be imported in-game. The Fast64 tool has a little button that lets you keep a model's default rest position to however you like, which makes editing the more complicated models easier since going back to edit mode shifts the bones back to rest position.

And you can do the same method to get it back to its normal position. Just be careful on how you rotate things cause you can accidently rotate two bones on the wrong axis and it'll mess up everything. Lost too many good Mario rigs that way...

Some code given to me by the simpleflips' romhack discord, I can easily warp to the ending to see my results. Took a few tries actually but once it was all done, everything looked great! However, there was still one last thing left: the blinking.

Most models have blinking, which uses a switch bone usually where it would happen, so the head in this case. The Mario rig that comes with fast64 already has it set, so it's just a matter of swapping textures. For anything you import, it doesn't come with textures so you have to fill in the blanks (it does come with its UVs so it's not super hard if you know what you're doing).

For the blinking, you have to find the specific bone that does it and then manually add the textures that way. Peach is somehow unique in that she has seven states, all but one are a repeat of another. Here's the first three from the most recent version I got of her as an example.

So a lot of the early importing was a lot of trial and error till just figuring out which bone does it and in which order, using the Mario switch states as an idea. You could prolly dig around the code and see how its laid out but I sure didn't know how at the time! Anyway, Princess Vanilla was done. She showed up properly in all the spot Peach usually does and that means I'm ready to continue.

Next is the unappreciated boi, Gemerl. Former Eggman goon turned protector of small and large bunnies. The plan for him was simple: he's the new Koopa the Quick. Sounds easy enough, and honestly it was mostly (after some help) but man just trying to get him rigged was uhh...something.

The original idea was to rig him to the existing Koopa model and go from there but as you can see, it was not the greatest looking thing. Koopa the Quick's model and animations are obviously shared with the normal Koopa model so I had to be careful when modifying the animations, if I did. In the end, I scrapped this idea and went with a suggestion: using Mario's rig.

Huge feet aside, it did work out though actually using the Mario rig was a bit of a hassle cause when importing the Mario rig, it also includes the bones that are handle by the game's code such as telling which hand holds things or scaling certain limbs when attacking, etc etc. And since Cream also shared that same rig now, whatever Cream did, so did Gemerl. The solution was to go through the rig and delete all those bones so that nothing gets mirrored to whatever the player was doing.

Look at him go! The added benefit of using Mario's rig was that I could reuse his animations for Gemerl. The next thing was to import certain animations and export them in a certain order so that it lined up with Koopa's animations, so that once I edited some code, it would just know which animations to pick from without much effort.

Also for why he looked so big is cause I forgot Koopa the Quick has a unique scale of 4 (vs the normal Koopa being a scale of .8) so just had to adjust that as well as shrinking the trigger to talk to him and Gemerl was set! Two down, a couple more to go.

Last but not least were Cheese and Chocola. These would be the first model I just took from an existing source, in this case it's from Shadow the Hedgehog. Bunch of chao in a single room...

Normal chao would replace all the toads in the castle, while chocola would be replacing a single chao in the main lobby and cheese would follow you around as the cameraman lakitu.

Starting with the toads, their rig was mostly simple if needlessly full of extra bones, which is a common issue with most of the rigs. Would be nice to get of them if I had an idea on which one didn't completely break animations. Oh well.

Same rules applies to this rig and any future rigs but one thing that did help was the ability to import animations and use them as a reference while placing the new model in the same slot. Course, you could still use the model that came with the rig but you get an idea on how it'll move before it's fully in-game.

Best part is since Chocola will also be sharing the same model and rig, I just had to swap out some textures and add his cute lil' bowtie. This also meant I had to make a new actor just for him and then tell the game to pull his unique model id to replace one of the normal chao in the castle. Now onto Cheese.

Before following you around like normal, Cheese was meant to be the Camera. While not shown, he does have his own little cloud to sit on. Thankfully, Lakitu doesn't have many animations so he was easier to swap out compared to Toad. The Space Channel 5 logo was a suggestion and just having a little fun with the model. You'll rarely see it but hey it's there!

Slow and steady but the entire bun family is now fully in-game. There's still a few other NPCs I would add to v1 but I'll get to them later, this blog post is dragging on. Next one should focus on stuff like the UI changes and finally the enemy choices, ooooo.

okay hi this is the first of my current EIGHT unanswered hb asks omg. i'm !!!!! actually shaking with excitement about the fact that i'm about to get to ramble SO MUCH about hb holy shit. okay. okay.

so, obviously harley is based off ty simpkins, but i kind of?? like i mean, yes ty literally plays harley lmao, but also i picture him SLIGHTLY differently in my head. like how he looks in endgame i feel is a different vibe than how ty looks irl. i don't know if that makes any sense at all but i can't explain it, it's just like. he looks like ty but to the left. that's harley in my head. i cannot describe it any other way.

hb peter is 100% tom's peter because homeward bound is 100% canon compliant up to no way home (except for some headcanons such as peter having an uncle ben but uncle ben dying when peter was still really little in order to not fuck with the spidey home trilogy being peter's origin story - there are some other headcanons too that i can't remember off the top of my head, but i tried to make all of them align with mcu as much as possible as to not fuck with canon)

for harry and gwen it's not a spoiler for the most part except for one thing is kinda spoilery but not really? it reveals something about one of their characters that has not been established in the fic yet so just to be safe i'm gonna tag this w the spoiler tag and put it under the cut

okay so i'll start with harry

so there's a lot of variations with harry - sometimes he has brown hair, sometimes reddish hair, usually blue eyes, though i love the idea of him having green eyes because. i mean. duh.

i didn't really think of fan casts for him specifically in hb, i haven't really gone in depth with his appearance in any of the chapters, but @alwaysonlineau made the actor from love, simon, nick robinson, the icon for harry's account and now i kind of can't picture anyone else lmao. nick has hazel eyes which can look greenish at times so i'm here for it. also i loved his acting in jurassic world and in love, simon so i think he could pull off harry pretty damn well.

also i love that nick was in jurassic world with ty lmao. the ages are off obviously, nick is 28 and literally played ty's older brother in that movie, but for the sake of a fan cast i think nick when he was early 20's looks very Harry Osborn to me. at least he feels very fitting for fanon harry.

if someone were to actually play harry in the mcu i don't know if he'd feel super fitting, i've seen people mention harrison osterfield for mcu harry which i could see. i also looked through a list of harry fan casts and david mazouz looks harry like to me a bit. charlie heaton was also listed which idk if he could pull harry off but looks-wise i could kind of see. asher angel. i know timothee chalamet's name has been tossed around a bunch and i mean i think he could do it but he doesn't look like harry to me lmao. they'd have to make his appearance work for it.

maybe charlie rowe, who i also saw listed as a fan cast. asa butterfield was on that list as well and i could see the mcu going that route too. but in homeward bound, i pretty much just envision nick.

as for gwen stacy!

so, i thought this before @alwaysonlineau came back, and i know i'm not the only one because i've seen quite a few posts on here and other sites saying the same thing, especially after across the spider-verse came out and gwen had the trans flag and coloring and such, but i really think that hunter schafer would be an INCREDIBLE gwen.

it hasn't been mentioned in the fic yet (mostly because i didn't think of this until i was already like halfway through the fic and then i didn't officially decide on it until across the spider-verse came out) but gwen is trans in homeward bound. it's gonna be made explicitly clear as soon as i can figure out a fitting reason for why it wouldn't have been mentioned so far - it feels as though, since the fic is peter's pov and he's never mentioned it, it should be that gwen hasn't told him so he doesn't know, which means finding out is going to have to be a thing. not like a huge thing but it's going to have to become a scene of some kind that establishes the fact that she's trans and then also addresses why she didn't tell him/any of them.

i haven't decided on how yet - it might be a super casual thing where she just never thought to mention it because it's just a part of who she is and she doesn't feel the need to tell people because she doesn't think it really matters (and also hunter schafer has stated that she passes as a cis woman i remember seeing an interview after euphoria season one where she was talking about it and how like yeah it's great to have trans inclusion and representation in euphoria but also she knows that she's white and passing and that's probably a big part of why she got the role, which basically i'm mentioning because if hunter were to play gwen then gwen would also be able to pass very easily as a cis woman as well). i might make it a bigger thing, like maybe she experienced something (some kind of transphobia) in the past that made her very wary about telling people and then by the time she wanted to tell them it had been a long time so she didn't know how, etc. etc. etc.

i'm queer but like i'm a cis lesbian not trans or nonbinary or anything, i do have multiple trans friends and i've seen a lot of posts and art and such about different lives and experiences trans people have had but i'm still cis, so if anyone who isn't cis has any input on what they'd like to see, please let me know. i don't want to approach the topic with a lack of sensitivity and i want to have trans rep in hb but if people want it to be a casual thing then that's what i'll do, if people want there to be more to her backstory then i'll do that instead.

but yeah, basically i can REALLY picture hunter as gwen, like some of her acting in euphoria i feel has some potential gwen energy to it (specific scenes, some displays of emotion that i could see gwen having, etc) but also this picture of hunter feels VERY gwen to me:

also also, obviously zendaya is rue in euphoria so her and hunter are friends and have great chemistry together and as a gwemj lover that means a lot to me pdfjg

another possibility i could see is emma meyers, aka enid from wednesday. i think she's a great acctress and could encompass gwen's energy pretty well too, but my first pick would be hunter!

I unironically recommend any monhun fan with the means to do so gives monhun 1 a chance.

I'm NOT saying they should play through the entire game or some crazy nonsense like that, I just mean for like a first-hand experience of where the series started- that was fascinating to do.

Monhun 1 for the ps2 feels like rubbing your tummy and patting your head.... and reciting the alphabet backwards.... and a bunch of Velociprey and Bullfango are biting your ankles.

It somehow has some of the worst controls I've ever been willing to put up with and part of that is because you can JUST BARELY see what they are going for with the various weapons.

Like, it's bad, I loathe it, it is the worst at forcing claw grip because it HAS a right stick and your brain screams at you the entire time that you should be able to use it.

But they like... put combos in it? On a right stick control scheme? Like the SNS can do jump attack, triple sword, side spin by pressing Down, Up Up Up, Left (or right). It's like aping on fighting game inputs or something, it's so weird and I won't lie- it kinda feels good sometimes but I hate it with all my soul lol.

But it ain't just controls, there's plenty more and I truly recommend anyone interested just toss it on something like PCSX2.

Small monsters have infinite rage in their hearts. Egg quests (because of this) have never been more stressful. It has absolutely zero of the QOL changes the series has incorporated over the years- some of which I hadn't even considered like needing to have the materials to craft IN YOUR INVENTORY to make new armor or weapons (small but crazy to see lol).

Stagger and trip mechanics don't seem to use any form of resistance build up and there is an entire meta built around stunlocking the head FOREVER.

The end game fight (Fatalis) has THE MOST ABSURD lock condition of HR20 (Super fair!), Doing every online quest (There's some doozies, like 50 banana habanero hunts and just general filler, but Okay, Okay, Fair), AND HUNTING 50 RATHALOS AND 50 RATHIAN. OOF.

GS, as many already know, doesn't have charge attacks so the optimal combos (outside of hit and run, obviously) is all those meme movesets you're not supposed to do (like overhead into side swing into overhead infinite).

Hammer almost unironically feels the same as normal oldschool titles because charge is on R1 and pressing Left Up or Right all does the triple down slam/golf swing so honestly Hammer feels pretty good.

Lance is meta defining because of headstun and INSANE motion values.

But really I just say all this because giving the original version of MH1 a chance revealed a lot to me and I found it fun in more ways than one.

And that's surprising tbh. It felt like shit most of the time, but it also was kinda super fun tbh, like to the point where I sat down trying to figure out how to get PCSX2 to play online (to no success sadly) because I was toying with the idea of beating all the online content (until I saw what you have to grind out to do Fatalis).

It's.... FUN.

It's HORRIBLE. So horrible that I legitimately do not as of writing this understand how Monhun survived. Like I know Monhun thrived after Freedom came out as handhelds allowed it to explode on the Japanese market- but that's just it. I GET how MHF survived. I GET how Monhun after Freedom lead to FU, 3U, 4U, GU, World, all that.

But literally HOW did MONSTER HUNTER 1 ON THE PS2 spawn sequels??

I might have to seek out a retrospective or something that emphasizes how MH1 survived to the point where it could thrive, because yes- The DNA of monhun is in MH1. So like, it's not a 0/10 travesty.

It's more that MH1 is Just Barely offputting enough where I would expect it to be some niche fond memory game, not a game that was given a chance to continue and became what it is today.

I kinda love it. If I ever get my hands on a reasonable emulator that easily allows me to play it online, I fucking am. I'm fucking trying to get to Fatalis. But until then it's sitting there as a remarkable relic and a mystery all in one. Pretty cool.

okay you've got me popping some popcorn and settling down bc I LIKE THE WAY YOU THINK AND YES GIVE ME ALL THAT PRE-DARK MOON STUFF. PLEASE. IM A SUCKER FOR GOOD HEADCANONS AND THEN CANON COMES ALONG TO RUIN SHIT. pre-dark moon my general thoughts/timeline was that the boys were born vampires, and uncommonly strong ones, so they were taken to the "orphanage" to observe their powers and raise them in a contained environment away from the world. eventually they break out (not necessarily bc orphanage evil but bc smth tells me these kids did Not want to sit down and be obedient). i also had a sense that the orphanage was a distant victorian past and the boys at decelis is the present decades later, trying to move through life away from that traumatic past. once dark moon/tamed-dashed jpn dropped i adopted more of that evil orphanage mindset. and thats when i started thinking about sooha. what if sooha was born superpowered like the boys, but because she's not an actual vamp she evaded the kidnapping by the orphanage and thats why she doesn't have that story. think about it— they could have this deep connection because they all originated together somehow, but the orphanage taking the boys separated them. and thats why the low-grade vampires are searching for sooha. because the organization realized they missed one.

firstly though id like to adress your pre-dark moon headcanons because. that actually makes a lot of sense HFBFJFBJF and it fits with the addition of sooha too! OOH WAIT OR I JUST HAD AN IDEA. in the scenario where the boys were turned into vampires (not necessarily born as them; idk how that would work so im not gonna try and figure out the logistics just yet), then experimented on to be made into the better, more functional and long-lasting superpowered vampires, maybe the superpower part was like... an afterthought of sorts, just added on to make them even BIGGER powerhouses of destruction/idk whatever. but then whoever made them (im just gonna call them the organization for now like you) may have been like "wait, could this superpower gene... work on normal humans?". so then they either take a bunch of pregnant moms OR a bunch of newborn babies and run all the experiments and shit and well,, most of them die (because a: i like angst and b: it would explain why sooha's the only superpowered human in the story/why the organization wants her so bad) except one: sooha. but sooha's mom obviously doesn't WANT her daughter to live her life as a lab rat, so she figures out a way to get her daughter and herself out, escaping and probably pulling some wild identity-alteration shit so she and her daughter can live safely without the threat of being constantly hunted hanging over their heads.

WAITWAITWAIT OR. omg okay im sorry my brain is doing one of those things where i try to figure out the plot holes of a story or concept literally as im explaining it to someone hsjbffj give me a second-- if we're going with the timeline where the "orphanage" was like a long time ago and everything. maybe sooha's MOM was one of the babies that got experimented on, and she was the only one that didnt die, but she never showed any signs of superpowers or anything so the organization figured she was a dud... but it turns out, years and years later when she has her OWN kid (sooha), whatever weird superpowered genes the organization injected her with manifest in her daughter instead, and the organization is AFTER sooha because they somehow caught wind of this miraculous superpowered child who wasn't a vampire and went "oh shit so it DID work" and now theyre after her. idk how sooha and the boys having their whole weird ✨connection✨ would work in this situation, maybe they can just feel that she has the same weird superpowered genes as them and they feel drawn to her because of it? idk

really i dont know how that entire storyline would go—i just went off on a whole other train of thought there lmao (that was not intended, sorry). now though i wanna start telling you about my friends and i's pre-dark moon ideas because it ties into the idea of how the vampires originated and also cuz. well i want to. HDJFBFJFB (im gonna group this into sections actually via titles because i have a feeling this is gonna get insanely long again)

pre-dark moon: selene and the orphanage

okay SO: the train of thought that we had initially sort of started because of the mysterious princessy/queen-y figure that appeared in the drunk-dazed mv (who i now realize was most likely meant to be sooha, but SHHH we're in pre-dark moon headcanon territory now lets ignore that). we conceptualized her as this sort of... motherly or goddess-like "vampire queen" figure. in the story we constructed, she was the one that MADE the boys, although because we were all sluts for angst and trauma it turned... very quickly dark. she was very definitely NOT a good guy lmao.

the idea with the orphanage was that the vampire queen (who i called selene, based off of the greek or roman goddess of the moon and mother of vampires-- i think, i might have my myths mixed up there) was the one that started it all. she orchestrated the orphanage, hired all the staff, ran the entire "project" so to speak: she wanted to create more vampires like her. maybe she was lonely at first, but got driven mad by the loneliness and the vampirism combined; maybe she wanted to build an army. i don't know, we never got her motives fully straightened out. the pills that the boys all took in given-taken were pills containing her blood: that was how they were turned (in our story vampires didnt get turned via biting, they got turned by consuming the blood of another vampire; i think i read about that somewhere). it was a very slow process, so the boys (who had all been brought to the orphanage as kids and grew up there together) weren't aware of what was happening until it was too late. now, we stuck with the whole "orphanage bad and abusive, enha escape" storyline from the very start, so that happened; they ran away and set out in the world on their own, constantly on the run from the orphanage and selene.

now onto the more... character-specific parts (from here on out im gonna refer to the enha boys with a c! before their names to distinguish them from the real people because the dark moon names. uh. dont exactly work with the kind of story we created lol). unbeknownst to the rest of the boys, while they were all still in the orphanage, from the time when they were little kids up until their escape, c!sunoo felt sort of estranged and overlooked—like the others didnt care about him as much, or like he was irrelevant (this wasnt true, they cared for him a lot, but you get the idea). he started building up a habit of running away from the orphanage and into the forest surrounding it, where he would meet up with selene—who at the time he didnt know was the vampire queen. selene basically fucking groomed and manipulated him jnto believing the others didnt love him, she was the only one who would ever TRULY love him, the others would never understand, etc etc. she was a massive bitch lmao that's basically it

now this idea did come in part from my love of traumatizing characters, but it ALSO came from the entire enhaverse circle on tumblr thinking sunoo in the mvs was like. evil. but artzyy and i didnt like the idea of his character being just straight-up evil and not caring about the other boys so we were like "but what if he was manipulated" and then it just sort of spiraled from there. after the boys escape the orphanage, they come across this castle where selene lives. none of the boys know all the shit she's pulled with c!sunoo—they just think she's this benevolent motherly figure, if a slightly suspicious one. after a while of staying in the castle they figure out she's no good and escape, again, but by then c!sunoo has already been roped into betraying them by selene and he works as a sort of double agent for the rest of the story, sowing their demise at selene's behest. there are... a LOT of feelings had about this, just generally, by everyone. as you'd probably expect.

another thing to know about me and my mutuals' version of the enhypen that lore is that we were all apparently gay and longing when we were coming up with all of this so we sort of projected and. made the characters into this one giant gay poly qpr situation. i really dont know what happened HHDJFHFJNFN the fever mv came out and we started making jokes about it being gay (because WE all were; still are, that hasn't changed) and the jokes became less and less like jokes the more we posted about them, which tended to happen a lot with us for some reason. so. yeah.

and THEN of course the official dark moon teasers got dropped and hybe went "haha hey theyre brothers actually" and all of us at dear old engeneblr went "haha wow okay thats great!!!" while simultaneously shoving all our gayass character ideas under the metaphorical rug. and like yeah it ended up being revealed that the guys arent BLOOD brothers, they were just raised in the orphanage together and DECIDED to be brothers, but now i see them as being far too familial for that to ever not be weird.

(i even had a thing going for a while where i was compiling all the stuff about enhaverse to make into its own story, with different names for the characters to separate them both from the dark moon boys AND from the real-life enhypen; i ended up losing interest and its remained a hardly-touched note in my phone ever since, but the character names are still on there and i think theyre pretty snazzy if i may be allowed to toot my own horn about it)

-because that did indeed get just as insane and long-winded as i was expecting lmao. i wanna double back for a second and kinda talk about your sooha ideas again because,, i know i went on that whole tangent about how she and they boys could be related in the whole "artificial/experimental vampire" thing i had laid out, but i really do like the idea of them somehow all being BORN superpowered like that but being seperated—if thats the case, who or what made them? how old were they when they were seperated? what the hell HAPPENED?

(i really dont know how that storyline would work but i just got a very very cute idea involving it which is just. so you know the whole concept in canon where sooha was a "princess" in a past life and the boys were her "knights"? what if those are repressed memories of them all playing make-believe as kids with sooha as the beautiful princess in the tower and the seven boys as the knights that rescued her from the fearsome dragon? what if?)

okay A N Y W A Y moving on (before i go on another tangent). jino totally burned that fucking orphanage down i dont care what anyone says, the organization probably went "hahahaha oh yeah it was an ATTACK we were ATTACKED these children TOTALLY didnt leave of their own volition they had a GREAT time here but they were FORCED to LEAVE by the ATTACK" to cover up the fact that they were harboring teens in the midst of their respective rebellious phases while also having literal superpowers without any fireproofing. like. what

"oh dont think about it too much and just enjoy the story" i cant enjoy a story with no substance. i cant ENJOY a story when theres nothing there for me to actually GET INTO. "just enjoy the story dont think about it too hard" is used for silly comedies and stuff. not THIS. i can't enjoy a story if its straight up not written well. the meaning and the trauma and the impact IS the part that i enjoy.

everyone needs a little motivation every now and again, especially some random teenagers aiming to be the best in the world! what could be better than having a bunch of cute girls cheer you on?

NOTES: ASGWNQKVA- this idea is so??? cute!! lovely idea anon! as always, thank you very much for requesting! since you’ve basically explained the whole concept already, i hope you’ll forgive me if i just skip to the characters instead of writing an introduction :) sorry this is pretty bad, if i write another part on this, i promise it’ll be better (hopefully).

even though ISAGI has quite the foul mouth on the field, he’s also got his own fair share of insecurities/attributes about himself that he dislikes. having constant praise flooded at him during game time will definitely be a boost to his ego confidence! and by super pretty idols/models no less! yes, he might stare just a second too long before quickly averting his eyes out of embarrassment. if you ask him what’s wrong, with curious eyes and an innocent tone of voice, he’ll probably combust on the spot. i’m talking red face, stuttering, about to fall over from cringe. please don’t do it on purpose, he won’t be able to face you for a week or so.

it is a little (understatement) frightening to see the transition from off-field isagi to on-field isagi though. if he’s feeling particularly involved in a match, don’t be too shocked if he tells you to basically ignore everyone or the dude whose dragging the team down (sorry barou). focus on him. only him.

BACHIRA thinks it’s fun! not even because a bunch of gorgeous girlies went out of their way to cheerlead for them, he just likes the extra support on the field.

he probably wouldn’t mind if you adorned his face with glittery stickers while he was asleep, he finds it cute! only if you’re the one doing it though~ bachira is naturally an affectionate guy, so he can get a bit touchy at times. not even in a perverted way, he just wants a hug after a good game, y’know? obviously, you don’t want some sweaty ass guy on you after cheering your lungs out for 90mins straight, so you politely decline his offer which makes him puff his cheeks or pout.

but in all seriousness, he truly loves the support in matches; no matter how ridiculous or borderline insane the plays he makes, you don’t tell him to stop or that he’s wasting his potential by doing them. he simply adores that about you!

now then, the original pretty princess in blue lock, CHIGIRI doesn’t pay much attention to you at first. he’s a bit quiet, if not a little stoic too. it takes a while for him to open up to you and your cheer group but once he does, there’s no going back i’m afraid. you’ll see him any time he needs one of your hair care products, hair ties, brushes, etc. etc. though, his presence is more than welcomed most of the time. he’ll happily listen in on any drama/gossip you guys have before voicing his own opinion which always make you laugh (like…the sass on this man??)

on the field, he would prefer it if he was the only one you were cheering for, a sentiment he would never admit it aloud. he’s got too much pride for that. it is, however, slightly obvious on whose his favourite when you’re the only person who can freely touch his hair and style it. or when you’re the only idol/model that he’s bought magazines of back at home. or when— (his sister would probably love to share more)

as for the seemingly cold-hearted striker who has captured everyone’s hearts regardless, he couldn’t care less. RIN might even see you as a distraction more than anything. especially since it’s practically inevitable that some of his teammates are going to want to impress the group of girls cheering them on. and quite frankly, he doesn’t need your support or encouragement if he wants to beat sae.

just give him some time though, even if he tries to keep up this attitude it’ll eventually melt away in due time. like chigiri, he won’t appreciate it if you cheer anyone else on but unlike him, rin will outright say you shouldn’t cheer anyone else on because. he’s the best player. obviously. why would you need to cheer for these lukewarm plays the other strikers do.

i mean, hey, at least the cheering is working? even if his words are slightly harsher than he intends at time, you can be glad to know that he does hold some semblance of affection for you.

Before-bed cool-down of an OC, details under the break

This is Talia, a character from an original project I’ve been working on for a really long time, not super actively, but it’s always in the back of my mind. This is another one of my many ideas in which the characters are musicians, because I always like a good excuse to have songs in different genres, and I can never resist a good musical. And my favorite trope in musicals is when the characters get a song or two that’s a real live performance in the canon of the show. This particular idea would focus on a fictional rock girl band called the Vims, in which all the characters are famous popstars who live in the same apartment, but they’re also superheroes. Individual episodes would I think reveal different villains, and specifically I kind of like the idea of each girl having a villain who’s sort of a foil to them, or maybe they meet other musicians and heroes. Lots could happen. The art style is, in my imagining, sort of a mashup of My Life as a Teenage Robot, Powerpuff Girls, Samurai Jack, and Gorillaz. The pilot would likely be a mocumentary about their big tour, and I would definitely want to produce a real album of actual songs for them to perform because I’m extra like that, and also tbh I do that for all my projects. @spookulele, my current main project, currently has a list of I think over 15 songs I’ve written, but obviously not all of them can appear in just one episode of a cartoon. I just have too many ideas I suppose, and once you start working in a particular genre, it’s hard to stop writing in it for fun. I think the Vims would be really fun to write songs for because I want to make it a mashup of different musical genres to reflect the four members (I’m still working out the details, but one member might be more punk while one is more folky or one is more synth-driven or whatever. Still need to figure a lot of it out). I tbh would need to do so much research to figure out how they’d all write and play, and probably find a bunch of different people to form a band that could actually feasibly write and play everything. So it’s kind of ambitious and not fully formed, because this is a very silly, non-serious, back-burner-type-project. I’ve put too much thought into this idea, but also at the same time not enough. Ambitious yet also not really at all. I contain multitudes. Tbh I’m mostly writing this down so I can remember it later, because I’m retooling some of it. eh.

shopping (pregnancy series)

Since family have known about the pregnancy they have been buying things for us so we have a small amount of clothes for the baby but not really that much and with time moving so quickly George and I are going out today to try and get as much as we can.

We headed to the nearest shopping mall where there was a bunch of baby shops for us to look through. There was so much stuff to look at and an endless amount of cute clothes which of course we had to buy a lot of. I thought I was going to be the one obsessed with all the clothes and just how tiny they were but George was freaking out when holding up all of clothes against his chest.

The next thing we looked for was bigger items like car seats and push chairs which is a minefield in itself. There was a really nice worker there to help us out and tell us all we needed to know about the best brands and how to use each one which made it much easier for us to choose. We picked the ones that worked best for us even if they weren't necessarily the best one out there we found them easiest to use and thats all that matters.

By the time we had left we had spent quite a lot of money but thats what comes with having a baby I guess and its only going to get worse when she just keeps growing and we have to buy all new clothes.

Dream:

Today me and Clay had nothing to do and were bored just sat down so we decided to go to target to look at all the baby clothes because that's something we can just do for fun now which is just the best thing ever. Clay has been super excited about buying baby clothes because he loves just looking at the ones we have and thinking about the fact that our baby will be in those in just a few short months.

At target they had a pretty good selection of clothes and they were all so cute, our original plan was just to look at the baby clothes but we couldn't resist buying a few things and some shoes for when she gets older because they were too small and adorable not to. We have a pretty good selection of clothes at home but we have been told that you need way more than you think because they grow so quick and in general babies are messy so you have to change them quite a lot.

It really freaked me out when Clay put a new born onesie up against my bump comparing how big the baby will roughly be to the size of my stomach and although I'm only halfway through its kind of weird to think that something that size will be inside of me and then have to come out. Surely thats going to hurt so bad, I don't think I'm going to cope giving birth but its too late now.

Sapnap:

I was chilling on the sofa eating a snack because I was hungry when the doorbell rang so I got up to answer it for what felt like the millionth time in the past week. The package was left outside for me so I picked it up and went to the kitchen to open it because it was addressed to me and Sapnap. Inside the package was more baby clothes that bad had sent us which was sweet of him.

A lot of our friends have sent us things for the baby to the point that we have so many clothes for our baby that I'm dreading having to wash them all before he can wear them. It is nice to have all these things though and our friends have been so nice to even think about sending them. Me and Sapnap have got some things ourselves obviously but honestly a lot of it has come from friends and family.

Sapnap came downstairs to see what was delivered and we looked at all of the cute clothes together. He sent a text to bad to thank him for the things he sent then he dragged me to his pc where he already had web pages of baby clothes up. We looked at the clothes together and brought some of them as well as other necessary things like blankets which will end up as more parcels that I have to collect, I should probably just sit outside all day waiting because it will save time getting up and down.

Quackity:

Me and Alex have been pretty proficient at getting a lot of the things we will need but the only things we don't have is a car seat and stroller which we plan to go out and get today. We went to a store that was recommended to us by family and friends and they had so many different things to choose from so we are going to be here for a while.

We worked together to try and work out how the things worked and how you take down the stroller which we both had attempts at to make sure we could both do it. Some strollers were just too complicated for us and not easy to put up which was just not going to work if your holding a baby.

The fact that half of the strollers and car seats were too complicated to work ruled out a lot of options and it may seem kind of stupid when together we could use them but there will be times when one of us has to take her out and it would be way too annoying to deal with. We got a car seat and stroller that we found easy to use and were rated highly by other parents which is just what we needed.

Karl:

We are spending the day with Chris and going baby shopping today we were going to go alone but Chris insisted on joining us to help with telling us exactly what we need. I already had some idea of what was needed from reading a few books and watching some videos but it would be nice to have someone with experience there to make doubly sure that we don't go too overboard.

He showed us a bunch of stuff that we will need and we decided on a car seat but they didn't have the stroller we liked so we decided to order it when we got home. Chris also told us not to buy too many newborn clothes because they quickly grow out of them and its nice for them to have things to grow into so we mostly got 3-6 months because thats what he suggested.

I really enjoyed looking at all the baby stuff because it was all so cute and tiny but also big when you think about having to give birth to something that size but I'm trying to ignore that part at least for now. Chris also offered to give us some of Tucker's old clothes that he does fit into anymore to help out which was nice of him.

Wilbur:

Me and Wilbur have a few things that people have gifted us and a few things we ordered but tonight we are going on a buying spree to get as much as we can online. We would go in person but being in Brighton means that Wilbur gets recognised a lot and we haven't announced things to the fans yet and don't want it to be leaked so we just aren't risking it.

We both had our laptops out and were looking at clothes and other things which we showed each other before buying them. It's not quite as nice as getting to see baby clothes in real life but its still fun to get them in the mail because I often forget what we actually ordered. We managed to find a bunch of things as well as important things like a stroller and car seat which we were recommended good ones from friends that have kids so we trusted them.

Turns out shopping for baby clothes online is much less stressful that in real life because its easy to find cute things and in the sizes we want and its delivered right to our door. So much more convenient.

A while ago I received an interesting question about game aesthetics. The person in that ask really struggles with downloading stuff and finding their own style. They asked me how I came up with what you see on my screenshots. Have you ever thought that you can recognize whose screenshot this is by just a quick glance? Is editing important in photoshop? How to take beautiful screenshots? Today let’s talk about how different one single game could be for each of us and what really makes this mysterious “sims aesthetics”.

EDIT: Sorry, it turned out to be huge with lots of random thoughts :D I hope at least one percent of these is useful!

Ok, let’s imagine that you’re a person who just obtained the sims game or just want a nice fresh start and demolished your download folder. (We all need fresh starts sometimes, right?) The struggle is that you have no idea which style you like the best. There are so many sims blogs. Everyone seems to enjoy what they post but you’re a little bit lost in that jungle. Don’t worry! I’ll try to guide you and share my thoughts.

STEP 1 Choose your general style

I roughly divide all sims blogs that I see on my dashboard into a couple of so-called styles. I’ve been doing it in my mind for ages. I like following different people and seeing diferent editing. None of them are better than others. I hope you understand that it’s just a matter of liking. Ok, here we go. Let me put this sorting hat on you :D

1. Realistic

Perhaps, it’s the most important thing that you should decide for yourself. Wether you should use realistic textures in your game or you’d prefer to stick to more cartoonish maxis match ones. Why is it so important, to my mind? I like things that match. Just imagine game Witcher 3 where characters and surroundings are realistic. And now imagine Minecraft where things are pixelated. Both games are great, both games have certain beautiful styles. And now imagine Geralt hunting for monsters in a pixelated Minecraft swamp. A bit strange, isn’t it? :D The same applies to Sims. If you put a super realistic skintone on your sim and put a Maxis ponytail, that would probably look strange too. If you choose this style, just try to dig for a good quality content, start following simblrs in this style. Unfortunately, I’m not an expert when it comes to realistic content. So, try to drop an ask to someone whose realistic game you like. There are so many helpful people around in the sims community no matter what style they have :)

2. Trully Maxis Match

This is a complete opposite of a realistic style. I’ve always called people who use a lot of original maxis textures “trully maxis” :D If you can decorate a house without any custom content, if you like the way original hairstyles look, if you like Maxis clothes, you should go this way. From what I’ve spot after being so many years in the sims community, “trully” maxis simblr are so creative when it comes to storytelling. The stories that they write about either their sims/or maxis premades are so breathtaking. So much drama, so much fun. The only thing that I write about my screenshots is “Ok, this is my cat! Look, it can eat flowers and puke afterwardst! Yay! Cute”. If you choose this way, I can recommend you to check out @holleyberry, @didilysims or @moocha-muses. Obviously there are a lot more blogs that I follow. These people are just so sweet and helpful and they’re first who came to my mind. 

3. Bright Maxis Matchery

This is where I refer myself to. This style is still Maxis but what stands out is the use of bright colours and saturated photoshopped pictures. Ah, my love for overedited pictures is endless <3 This is what I’m going to talk a lot below since it’s my cup of tea. It’s all about colours and pallete addiction. If you love looking at super bright/silly/cheery screenshots and they boost up your mood, than join the squad! 

Basically, Maxis match (I’ll just shorten for MM from now on) players avoid super shiny skins or hair textures and prefer to have content with Simlish letters instead of English ones. This is a very important factor for me when I choose paintings or prints for T-shirts. I don’t know, I feel like it’s so cute that sims can’t understand our languages, talk this funny gibberish simlish language. It’s cute! There are so so many people that I can recommend. @lina-cherie @keoni-chan @kahlenas They are first who came to my mind <3

4. Grungy/cosmic

I don’t know if these are suitable words :D But this is how I describe people’s game who like aliens/supernatural sims/grungy textures with or without bright colours as well. Just think would you prefer a bit of a grungy stuff or less-textured but cleaner MM? You always need to think about textures while you download stuff. I can recommend to check out @pooklet or @furbyq-sims 

5. Semi

You might ask me “Why am I not allowed to put a realistic skintone on a maxis sim? What the hell?” Of course, you are! Do it please, if you want. There are no rules, no restrictions. You CAN go semi-realistic, you CAN mix patterns, you CAN mix colours. There’s only one rule: please, enjoy what you do. Don’t be afraid to share your pictures on the Internet. There will always be people who can judje your style and say: “meh, it’s too dull, meh, it’s too bright, meh, too shiny, meh, too plain meh, meh, meh”. Just don’t pay attention and enjoy your game. As for semi-realistic I can recommend such wonderful people as @marvelann @lilith-sims @falkii @knowledgeaspiration 

A bit about my style: I’ve always loved cartoonish/bright style. I’ve never ever played with shiny textures. Before Tumblr era I just played either without CC or with a bunch of maxis recolours. How I came up with the idea of cartoonishness? Pretty simple. It’s a part of my personality, I think :) I’ve always loved Disney/Pixar movies. Cartoons just make life a lot funnier! They make me happy. I’m a pre-school teacher after all :D. You can’t imagine how many cartoons I’ve watched throughout my life. I can quote Peppa Pig and will never be tired of that :D Before Tumblr I just played some funny legacies (I’ve never finished any though :D) When I found out about Tumblr, and such great content that can make my game even more Disney looking, it just blew my mind! Every time when I download stuff, I imagine that I’m watching a Disney/Pixar or whatever studio cartoon. When I create sims, I feel like I’m a cartoon designer. Pretty silly, right? :D

As I’m a big cartoon addict, I love recreating game/anime/cartoon characters. No matter, if they’re my favourite or requested ones. I love when my sims have different traits. I love when they’re funny looking/clumsy/absent-minded or when they’re evil/supernatural. When they are pirates/detectives/vampires or witches. This is my way of playing Sims. I love this game as it gives us possibilities to show your creativity, a chance to recreate our favourite characters. A chance to be a writer of storylines or if you’re bad at telling stories, just being “a cartoon designer” like me :)

STEP 2 Colour palettes

If you’ve chosen the path of “bright maxis matchery” than colour palettes are super important! Oh, you can’t imagine how addicted I am to certain colours. I can download GBs because of it.

Here are some of my favourite colour palettes:

1. Anna’s colours

My absolutely favourite palette. I would download absolutely anything in these pretty colours. Just looking at them makes me so cozy *0* There’s a photoshop action for those who want to recolour CC in this palette.

2. Poppet’s colours

I especially like the latest one. So pretty! @poppet-sims is the queen of lovely recolours. She has some more palettes. But “Back to Basics is my favourite”

3. Eversims colours

@eversims has got a lot of pretty colour palettes. But the most iconic one is Ever So Lovely

So, these are the basic colours that I like downloading furniture/clothes with. 

There are a couple more pretty palettes that I like:

Huning’s Pony Colours

Back in the days it was my ultimate favourite one. But these days I edit my pictures in Photoshop excessively and prefer calmer colours and add bright layers in photoshop instead.

Nyren’s Kosmic Colours

If you’re more into pastels, than try to download some stuff in this pretty palette.

You might wonder if I use all of these colours. Of course not! I have a selection of colours that I use: apple green, sky blue, yellow, red, pink, orange, purple, teal, mint. I absolutely love combining 2 or 3 of these in my interior shots. I also love choosing my sims’ favourite colours and dressing them/decorating their bedroom in this certain colour(s).

For example, my sim Mia likes apple green/purple and mint.

I think @deedee-sims can relate. While I prefer choosing a favourite colour per sim, she chooses favourite colour for the whole family!

This is a great idea, I think! :)

STEP 4 Bodyshop stuff

Ok, I hope it’s clear that I’m colour palettes addicted, now let’s move onto actual custom content and what I prefer adding to my game. I decided to divide CC by sections. Let’s start with Bodyshop.

4.1 Skintones

Another important thing that you need to choose for yourself. There are tones ofoptions. I’m going to recommend only MM skins as obviously I have no idea which realistic or semi-realistic ones are high quality.

If you prefer trully maxis skintones, I recommend you to try Leh’s skintones. It’s super close to original ones in terms of shades. Also look at those button noses! These cute noses is the reason why I started using this skin back in 2014. But later I switched to Lilith’s feather as I wanted more variety and those noses there got a lovely shine.

It was my default skin for a lot of years. These days I own every possible skintone by Lilith and various blends by other people.

Try to choose one set of skins or download all of them by one certain creator. I need a lot of skins because I love creating tones of sims and I want to make them various looking.

These are just some of my eyes. There are some more by Poppet, by Kahlena. And I have various addons to these sets that I grabbed over and here. I remember having struggles of choosing only one set. But than I thought: why do I have to choose if I like all of them and want my sims to look as different as possible? I just love when they are cartoonish but high-quality with nice white clean sclera. Just look at Disney Rapunzel. You’ll see what I mean ^_^

There’s one little trick that most mm players do for making sims’ eyes bigger and rounder - adding a whiteline eyeliner by jesstheex. I personaly do it for every single sim of mine.

4.3 Makeup

I use tooooons of blushes, lipsticks and eyeshadows. I have everything by Lilith and Jesstheex. And lots of bits and bobs by various creators. I love using both matte or shiny textures. I sometimes add nose shine or use special nosemasks. There are various lovely things in my collection. What I can recommend you is to download a sim that you like by another creator with the help of Sims Clean Installer and just steal makeup from the sim to add to your collection *evil laughter* I recommend to do it because sometimes there are some mouth corners or various eyebags and etc which are difficult to find. It’s easier to grab them together with sims.

For example, I grabbed the shiny nosemasks from one of Lilith’s sims.

Sometimes I like adding a bit of shine on Sims’ noses. Some sims of mine don’t have shine. It really depends on a sim. But what I definitely like is cute button noses! I like using nosemasks to achieve that. I have all the masks by Lilith and these ones by kahlena.

4.4 Hair textures

Another important decision for you is the hair textures. I recommend you to choose one certain retexture. Back in the days, I used to have Remi’s textures

I liked Remi’s ones because they were non-shiny. They had maxis colours and a really cool yellowish blonde! 

Receintly I switched to Simgarooped as I’ve always loved that there are 6 naturals. The yellowish blonde is still there! Plus my favourite Deedee-sims keeps updating every week with the retextures of new meshes <3

There are lots of various textures blends. Just search, download, play test. Think, if you’re ready to look at such type of hair hours of simming.

Also try to decide if you’d like to have more natural looking sims or go crazy and have supernatural/aliens. I used to have really bright sims with colourful skins and hairs.

Even my toddlers had unnatural hairs. It’s a lot of fun! But right now I prefer to create more natural looking sims though I like vampires/witches/aliens anyways!

You’ll need a lot of face masks/bright lips/shadows. Check out @berrynooboos​ for the cutest alien CC.

4.5 Facial hair and Brows

I don’t think they should really match as long as they look great.

For example, I use eyebrows by @suratan-zir which are super cute and high quality but use Poppet’s textures instead of Simgarooped.

As for facial hair, I use some Poppet’s as well.

4.6 Clothes

As I already mentioned, I love clothes in my favourite palettes. I love Simlish prints. There are so so many creators who share wonderful clothes.

I love @deedee-sims for age conversions, shoeswaps, morphs. I love @mdpthatsme for really cool 4t2 conversions. I love @moocha-muses for colourful T-shirts <3 Don’t be shy to send me a WCIF about a certain item of clothing.

STEP 5 Buy and Build

Tooons of bright recolours, IKEA items, Maxis add-ons, 3t2 and 4t2 conversions - all these things make my heart beat :D

These days I play in a rural-type world. I download a lot of craftsman-style build things, a lot of plants and garden deco.

I love bright wallpapers and greenhouses, I love clutter and kids CC for nurseries. Patterns with polka dots and plumbobs. Sunflowers and tulips. This is what I usually drop into my download folder :)

STEP 6 Taking screenshots

No matter which recolours and textures you prefer, I think high-quality pictures are important. The first thing that you need to playtest for yourself is a camera mod. It’s upo for you, but I can’t live without Gunmod’s Camera Mod. There are some more available, just check out.

Also lighting is important since Maxis original is terrible. I use Dreadpirate’s mod. 

I recommend to take screenshots in a camera man mode. Click Tab to enter it. Use W, A,S,D,E buttons to move right/left/up/down etc. And what’s important, use X and Z for zooming in and out. I always use Z for example, when I take close ups of my cats.

Don’t be afraid to experiment with angles. Try some artistic ones.

You can move your camera down and take a screen from below.

Or vice versa from above.

Sometimes I’ll just take a screen of my sims’ hands or feet. It really depends. I love spending hours on just “walking” in a camera mod around my sims houses.

Another useful feature of this mod is to use Ctrl +4,5,6,7,8,9 buttons.

These can fix the angles for you. And after fixing them, when you click on 4,5,6,7,8,9 you camera will go back to those positions. It’s very handy when you want to screen 2 sims who are talking and there’s no need to constatntly move camera from sidde to side. Just fix it and wait for them to perform cute emotions!

As a bonus, you can fic positions in the life mode too. For example, I always choose a proper angle from above where the wgole house can be seen. And wait for something cute/funny/to happen.

Also there’s such a thing as The Rule of Thirds. It’s the rule of photography composition. I always try to follow it :)

STEP 7 Photoshop Editing

I love oversaturated colours. It can be too much for someone’s eyes, but I like the brightness :) I’ll share some good Photoshop resources. Probably, one thing that I can recommend to absolutely everyone no matter how bright you want your screens to be is sharpening! Seems that Tumblr eats our picture quality for breakfast. Sims screenshots seem so blurry to me. I love sharpening them first.

I use sharpening from Kalekaloo’s action.

After sharpening I run the base from Eversims Action and then add some colour layers from Simburgerr’s one (I like gradients and fluffy lights layers especially). It makes the reds colours a little bit too saturated but I think it’s cute!

Yeah, I’m doing well! Hope you’re alright too <3 I really liked the oracle idea, and writing for the champions is always fun :)

For those of you who are curious or uncertain, an oracle is a person in a church who has a connection to the gods. They are often given prophecies or advice, and are considered very wise and powerful. Generally speaking, they’re peaceful and kind and help people however they can 

Warnings: mentioned violence

-Urbosa-

At first your interactions were purely professional. You’d reach out to the goddesses on Urbosa’s behalf, give advice, and help with important ceremonies, the usual

And while Urbosa can be very formal, she’s usually more laidback, and it was that warm friendliness that made you come out of your shell with her

Urbosa would “call upon your advice” more and more, to the point that neither of you even bothered pretending you were together for any real reason aside from the fact you liked one another’s company 

Your long, white robes aren’t exactly ideal for long treks through the desert, so she tends to keep dates either in the safety of the city or in a well shaded oasis 

Urbosa often teases you a little or is purposefully flirty to make you blush

She often brings you exotic gifts, like rare flowers or expensive jewels

She once got you one of those sand seal stuffed toys <3 

You originally wanted to keep your relationship completely private given the nature of your professional connection, but that was difficult in such a crowded city with so many guards around

But don’t worry, the women of the city are very pleased with who their chief is courting 

There’s something so ethereal and lovely about you, you’re hard to dislike

The children especially like you because your robes are so magic like 

Plus you’re really nice and give them sweets and stories :) so when you walk into the city, it isn’t uncommon for the children to reach you before Urbosa does, so you’re basically mobbed by a bunch of adoring little ones

Urbosa is very protective of you because of the Yiga Clan. She knows better than anyone how much they’d love to have an oracle at their disposal

She just doesn’t want anything to happen to someone so kind and gentle 

So whenever you’re wandering about Hyrule, especially in the desert, she insists that you bring guards with 

Any threats to you, Yiga or not, are dealt with swiftly. You’re an oracle, a peacemaker. The last thing Urbosa wants you to deal with is violence 

-Revali-

He knows how important an oracle is, for both their connection to the goddesses and their own wisdom. Considering that you often lead important ceremonies (such as coronations, knightings, etc) Revali figured it would be smart to be on your good side

But then he caught feelings for you oops

You’re always patient and kind with him, even if he’s being an arrogant show off

He appreciates someone genuinely caring about him more than he lets on, trust me, since making friends isn’t exactly one of his strengths 

Whenever you came to visit the Rito, your billowing white robes and large group of guards allowed him to spot you from miles away, and he always makes sure to patrol the sky when you’re coming to visit 

He’d swoop down beside you and start chatting, saying he had “happened to be in the area” and figured he might as well join your escort 

Obviously, you went from friends to significant others soon enough 

On dates he’ll take you to beautiful places high up in the mountain where the both of you can get away from your duties 

You’re one of the few people he’ll take flying, so it means a lot 

Teases you often because you’re naive and gullible and it’s fun seeing you flustered, but he never goes overboard 

You often fall asleep in his hammock full of pillows and blankets because it’s so comfy and safe. His heart did very funny things when he saw you fast asleep there, somehow looking divine and delicate as you sleep

While he isn’t a worrywart, he will scold you for not putting on enough warm layers when you visit colder areas and will insist you take his scarf

Don’t bother making any excuses because Revali is very stubborn when it comes to your safety 

He’s protective and won’t let anyone treat you badly because you’re literally a saint. You don’t have much backbone, but Revali has more than enough to stand up for you, like he’ll straight up fight someone for you

-Mipha-

The two of you got along very well right away because you both have very kind and gentle demeanors

You both tend to be soft spoken and have a talent for helping and healing others 

Must be fate, right? You’re quite certain the goddesses lined this one for you, your girls got your back ;)

Safe to say being “just friends” didn’t last long

Your long white robes are kind of annoying when they get wet, so she does her best to keep dates in dry places. There are still plenty of options in the Zora Domain and Mipha never fails to find a nice spot 

You always feel super safe and comfortable with her, and she feels the same. You two tell each other everything and are always ready to protect the other 

It’s just such a pure fluffy relationship, you’re both angels <3

She often gives you beautiful things from the water like shells, pearls, and coral 

You stay at the Zora Domain so often that they just permanently keep a Hylian bed and Hylian food on hand 

All the Zora and Hylians would absolutely throw hands if anyone tried to mess with your relationship 

Zelda and Link have “dealt with” suitors coming for you, same as Mipha’s father has “dealt with” suitors coming for her

And the best part is y’all are oblivious to the suitors

And although Mipha seems all cute and innocent, she can absolutely kick some butt if someone tries to hurt you 

Baby Sidon grew attached to you quite quickly and once blurted out, “when’s the wedding?” because he thinks it’d be so cool to have you as a sibling in law! 

You were both blushing for a solid week because of that one 

-Daruk-

He and all the other Gorons were thrilled when you came to visit 

They did everything they could to make sure you, the ever revered oracle, would be safe and comfortable so close to the volcano 

When you arrived, Daruk and all the other Gorons were practically falling over one another to meet you 

You were so unlike them in the most wonderful ways. You were soft and light while they were rough and heavy, and the wise, delicate aura around you just added to the mystery

You and Daruk grew close very quickly because of his friendliness and dorky chivalry 

Sure, the volcano was scary sometimes, but Daruk promised he’d always keep you safe

He made a lot of jokes just to see you laugh, and he’s quite certain it’s the most beautiful thing he’s ever heard 

He’s not nearly as poetic with words as you are, and tends to stumble over his words when your wide, innocent eyes are staring up at him so expectantly 

All the other Gorons were lowkey shocked when you actually agreed to go on a date with Daruk

Like yeah they all knew Daruk was a great guy but??? He’s dating an absolute angel now?? How???

He always has a plethora of funny stories when you need something to take your mind off serious matters

He’ll use his shielding ability at the drop of a hat to keep you safe

Like all there’d have to be is a small rustle in the bushs behind you and he’s activating his shield and pushing you behind him 

Goron food is a bit spicy for your tastes, so the chefs always make sure to go extra, extra light on the spices for your sake. They all know you’re too polite to say anything yourself and that much spice doesn’t settle well with little Hylians like yourself
